Digest Writer – Episode 16!

Ohkay so, like I sussed before, Mazhar Hayat is definitely going to give Fareeda a hard time. He dislikes all the digest writers just because they happen to write for different digests & that makes him believe that they’re beneath him because supposedly they know nothing about actual & meaningful writing. I totally understand the concern he has for the drama industry because he believes in writing unique stories with a message & a meaning & even his concern about how digest writers have overtaken the industry with their thoughts confined to marriages, its problems & women oriented issues is also reasonable but the way he disses all the digest writers & looks down upon them without even going through their writings makes me dislike him. He is definitely a veteran writer & no one takes that away from him but Mazhar Hayat fails to understand that times have changed & people demand different stories. Until now, directors & drama makers have only discussed how his scripts don’t make good dramas & that has somehow affected Mazhar Hayat more than he can express. I do agree with Mazhar Hayat whenever he speaks about how channel owners these days are only concerned about ratings but that doesn’t mean that if a few new writers are bringing in some fresh ideas, channels shouldn’t pay heed to their work just because a seasoned writer happens to be around them. It’s actually amusing that even though he doesn’t know anything about Fareeda & her work, he already has a problem with her just because she has earned a name for herself in a very short span of time.

Fareeda’s miseries aren’t coming to an end. Her in laws’ demands are never ending. She is supposed to do everything for them but they won’t budge. I just so wish that they hadn’t shown Shaukat as such a spineless person who has no say of his own whatsoever. He’s a typical spoiled mama’s boy who would do everything his mama tells him to do. Najma is getting married & we’re thrilled for her, but it looks like she is not going to go away silently. She will get herself noticed & that is why I just couldn’t stop hating her this time around too.

I do like the fact that even though Fareeda has no support of her husband & her in laws, she keeps on doing things related to her professional life every now & then because that makes her happy. She got her book published without any sort of help of anyone & that was good to see that she is finally trying to manage both aspects of her life & is also paying attention to her career. Even though she doesn’t write anymore, she is still somehow connected to those people who were a part of her professional life & that means she still has a margin of bouncing back whenever she feels like.

I actually thought that Fareeda’s MIL would somehow change because now she has no other option left than to rely on Fareeda but she is incapable of being nice. Now all of a sudden when her husband had an accident, she wanted Fareeda to write because she knows she can easily bring in some bucks. I just don’t understand why doesn’t Shaukat work? If Sajida had used half of the brains to train her son to be responsible, I am sure Shaukat would’ve been an entirely different person. Apparantely, Sajida had the guts to indirectly order Fareeda to write so that she could bear the expenses but she couldn’t care less & tell her son that he needs to work so that he could support his family?

Even though Fareeda has started writing again but I hope this doesn’t make her accept this as a compensation granted from Shaukat & his family. Yes, she knows that they are depending on her & she got permission just because they wanted to get benefitted from it, but I hope Fareeda doesn’t push herself too hard just so that she can help her in laws. Yes, she was passionate about writing like she has always been & she wanted to continue it even after her marriage but now when she has gotten a chance, Fareeda should understand that her in laws are counting on her & just because she got permitted, she would allow them to walk over her just so that she could pursue her passion.

Isn’t it too bad that Fareeda’s thinking she has hit a jackpot just because she’d get to work under Mazhar Hayat but little does she know that he is only going to give her a tough time because he already has preconceived notions about her. I hope Fareeda takes a decision with finality because looks like even her attempts of helping her in laws financially won’t earn her respect from them. I totally love Fareeda’s parents & find them genuine but their repetitive reminders about Farhaan’s college fee & Shakeela’s wedding are ticking me off. Yes, they are depending on Fareeda, we know it but that doesn’t mean there has to be a scene or two dedicated to this already-crammed reminder. This episode was a lot more happening then a couple of previous episodes. I just want to see what future has in store for Fareeda. Share your thoughts please.

5 Common Facepalm Moments

0

We have all, at some point in our lives, been forced to face palm, whether it’s the stupidity of others, or ours that makeS us do it. Following is a list of five such moments whose credit goes to our television screens:

1. When morning shows have “dramas”:

Shadis, calling upon jinnat or trying to have discussions with “real” saas bahus, I would term them as dramas. Morning shows
have given me so many facepalm moments that I have lost count. I gave up on them a long time ago, but since they air 5 days a week, while scrolling through channels, catching a few scenes is inevitable. But seldom do they capture my interest. Most of the
time they make me cringe.

Give up on these fake shadis already. Why are they hell bent on getting people married? If you really want to earn sawab
by getting girls married then do it in private instead of dhol dhamaka and an official ailaan. Other than that, what is the point of
getting already married couples married again? For the second time, having not only a baaraat but a mehndi, mayon and the kind of
rasoomat that no person of this country has even heard of, is illogical.

facepalm1

If real jinnat ever got to these guys, do you really think they will let the cameramen record their videos and show them to the world? I think using this topic to get ratings is wrong and no sane person would fall for this cheap tactic.

The morning show hosts will make your marital life a bliss by calling you and your saas live on television and let the whole world see what crap you two are going through together (just so they can know that their lives aren’t as messed up as yours and be happy)!
Who believes these people?

2. When the weddings in dramas just don’t end:
Mayu and Mehndi(with ALL the dance scenes) , Baraat and Valima and then angoothi dhoondna and doodh pilana and sheesha dekhna.….
The list goes on, and the weddings go on,thus the scenes get dragged. All that changes are the wedding dresses!! Do we need to see every wedding function of the characters? Since they are filler scenes used to drag the already lame dramas for a few episodes, we can skip them.
The examples are endless. Raheel’s (Sohail Sameer) Mehndi function in Tum Mere hi rehna lasted for three episodes. Abrish
(Sonya Hussain) and Farhad’s (Junaid Khan) wedding functions in Khuda Na Karey wasted a lot of time. The wedding functions of
Aahista Aahista, Muhabbat Subh Ka Sitara Hai, Dil Nahi Manta, Ladon Mein Pali, Rasam, Rukhsati need to be mentioned here.
The “6-7 sisters” dramas annoy me the most. Every sister’s wedding functions are shown separately (Like one wasn’t enough!).
Mein Bushra is a recent example.

facepalm2-001

3. When the most boring drama is nowhere near ending:

You’d expect, in fact pray that the most boring drama on-air will have the least number of episodes but when, even after the 20th or 25th episode there is no sign of it’s end and the twists are still happening, you have no choice but to wonder…….

Are you serious GIF

4. When everything is solved at the last moment:

We, the viewers, put our heart with the characters. We love some of them, and hate some of them. Whom we hate, we want punished. Unfortunately we don’t get to see the evil ones suffering for more than one scene. The apologies they present to the good ones are just words of formality. In the end, we see the hero (who’s most probably the apologist), and heroine sharing an intimate moment. There can be two reactions to this:

a) a sarcastic cute

Sarcastic cute GIF

b) an urge to punch

punch in face GIF

5. When talk show fights go out of hand:
I do watch talk shows, whenever I find the topic interesting. But the acha khasa topic is ruined by the verbal abuse the “guests” shower upon each other. There is a huge difference between educated politicians and illiterate people. Setting a good example for the people, eh? Done on purpose or not, this is wrong and should be stopped.

Jackson Heights – Episode 18!

Can someone tell me what has gone into Michelle? She told Rizwan that she has let go of the fear of being deceived but now when I come to think of it, she was better off with that fear because she saved herself from a lot of hassle that’s now ready to make its way into her life. I mean I seriously cannot relate & understand the reason why Michelle fell for a guy like Jamshed. He had an ulterior motive of trapping her, we know that but what did Michelle see in this guy that she couldn’t see in Rizwan, a guy that’s suitable for her & compatible with her on so many levels? Like I always complain about the lack of emotional quotient in this drama, these recent turn of events in Michelle/Jamshed track force me to say that again. They haven’t given us anything which can convince us or let us know the reason behind this level of trust Michelle has in Jamshed? She is choosing to ignore her two loyal long-time friends Rizwan & Adnan for the sake of a guy who just made an entry into her life may be a month ago? Everyone else can see that Jamshed isn’t as nice as he poses to be but why is Michelle so blind? I mean if she was a 16 y/o I would’ve given her a benefit of doubt but a divorcee in her 40’s who has gone through a bitter betrayal in her life is turning out to be so naive & gullible that it just doesn’t make any sense.

Finally, Bhatti let the secret out. He is in love & he is not ashamed of admitting it. I am glad that he took situation in his hands & gave it back to Sikandar because he deserved it. If Bhatti had spoken to Salma without doing such a thing, she would’ve shooed the thought away but now when she saw how Bhatti had taken a stand for her & the trouble he went through just for her sake, it was enough for her to realize how serious he is for her. Amina Shiekh has for sure surprised me with her effortless acting. I am glad that the emotionally incapable Salma isn’t now afraid of letting go of her emotions, she cries, she complains, she reasons & she gives words to her thoughts, which is exactly what I wanted to see in her character & now I like her character a lot because I feel now I can connect to her.

Too bad that Cathy is now trying to salvage the already wrecked marriage because it’s too late. Once again, I don’t understand why is she doing this because to be honest, I didn’t understand what her issues with Bhatti were to begin with? Ever since the beginning, she was unhappy & indifferent but all of a sudden, just a sight of Bhatti & Salma in one frame shook her so bad that she has completely changed & that doesn’t make sense at all. Why she was like that before & why is she trying so hard now? All I knew about her was that she didn’t love her husband but to see the emotion of love, affection & concern she is showing for Bhatti just doesn’t come across as genuine as it should’ve been because we haven’t seen proper ground of her story.

I am glad Aliya is there to knock some sense into Salma. Yes, Salma is afraid of burdening herself more because she already has a lot to deal with & she is fine as far as she knows that being in this relation stops people from being judgmental. Salma is well aware of the fact that this marriage has given her nothing but she is happy with the tag that has come with it because it somehow makes her feel protected. Yes, Salma is independent but she just doesn’t want to get judged, which is why just the thought of her being with Bhatti reduced her to tears as she thinks she doesn’t have any courage left in her to deal with this. I feel the conversation that Aliya had with Salma will prove to be a turning point in her life because it will compel Salma to think on those lines that she has been trying to avoid.

Yes, the episode was interesting & somehow happening too. Isn’t it odd that Marina Khan’s hair colour keeps on changing; in one scene it’s her natural grey hair & in the other it becomes brown which is more like an attempt to make her look younger in the frames she share with Jamshed? I wish the drama makers had taken care of such a basic thing because it somehow sheds a light on lack of attention to detail may be? Anyways, this episode was good & I am glad to know that the drama will end after giving us some good episodes. Share your thoughts please.

Sadqay Tumhare – Episode 15!

Khalil may not be Abdur Rehman’s real son but to him, Khalil is more than that, which is why he is doing everything he can to bring Shano & Khalil together. Like Amin said, Abdur Rehman is a resourceful person & he proved Amin right by having that inspector picked & thrown into the prison just because he dared torturing Khalil. Abdur Rehman is past that stage where he would think about rekindling an old affair. He’s done with his past & is now thinking like a considerate father who takes pride in fulfilling his responsibility as a parent, whereas Rasheeda hasn’t come out of the trance of those few moments that she spent with Abdur Rehman decades ago as his fiancée & that is why, she is hell-bent on making him suffer. Rasheeda’s plans are simple; if she can’t have him, she will go to any extreme to torture him even at an expense of her own flesh & blood & that can’t be helped because she has come a long way & has nurtured her hatred so much that it has gone beyond Rasheeda’s control too.

Khalil like always stood by his stand of not maligning Shano’s name just because he wanted to be with her but it took a detailed discussion with Doctor & Bakhtiyaar for him to understand what Shano, his mother & everyone around him must be going through. ‘Mohabbat nahi haray gi, mohabbat nahi tootay gi lekin mohabbat karne wala haar bhi jata hai aur toot bhi’. The message & its purpose were loud & clear. Khalil needs to understand that Rasheeda is someone who would never budge & that is why he has to come up with solutions of getting Shano out of that misery she goes through every single day. It looked like Khalil didn’t know much about his biological father & his elder siblings because their mention shook him & the way he was stunned guaranteed his oblivion. Doctor told him the right thing at a right time because for Khalil, his mother & then Shano are everything & just because he heard what his mother had gone through, he decided to put an end to this misery by agreeing to get what belongs to him & that is Shano.

Inayat has gone through so much in her life that now the last thing she wants is to see her son getting abused & tortured on daily basis that too because of Rasheeda as she is one way or the other related to what Khalil has to go through. I loved the conversation between mother & son; Inayat & Khalil. I actually love the bond both Abdur Rehman & Inayat share with Khalil. They understand him, they support him & when they know he is going to take care of things he’s supposed to, they don’t bound him with unreasonable promises & blackmailing. They are there for him & that is why Khalil seems focused on Shano as he knows that he has a strong backing of his parents.

I was relieved that things were back to normal between Shano & Humaira. They both share such a strong bond that I would’ve hated seeing a dent in their friendship. Humaira knows what her mother was going through because her uncle was in jail but she decided to support Shano like she always has because she knows that it was her cousin & then her uncle who were wrong & Khalil only did what was right because he couldn’t see anyone defaming Shano shamelessly that too in front of him. I loved the way Humaira asked Shano to not attend the reception of her brother because she knew that her mother would put Shano in an awkward position by asking her for a favour & she didn’t want that to happen because for Humaira, Shano & Khalil are more important & she understands & supports them like a true & genuine friend.

Well, it goes without saying that Rasheeda is despicable & Amin is gullible. I actually feel for Amin a lot because he has been a faithful husband to his wife. He not only loves Rasheeda truly but trusts her blindly too & because of this, he doesn’t deserve to be cheated upon. I found Amin as a very liberal husband because he has allowed Rasheeda to speak openly about her past & I thought it just didn’t affect him but the way he questioned her, it showed that he is hurt & deep down he feels that Rasheeda is still in love with Abdur Rehman. No matter how much lie she spews but still there is some insecurity that pinches Amin & that is why he reassures her time & again as to how much he loves & supports her because he just doesn’t want to lose her. Amin can clearly see the suffering of his daughter but he chooses to turn his back on Shano & side with his wife because he just can’t help it as he actually loves her which to be honest, Rasheeda doesn’t deserve.

It only took a second for Shano to decipher that whatever Rasheeda said about Abdur Rehman was nothing but a lie. Rasheeda obviously felt she would lose this one because Shano knows her too well & that is why she did what she can to keep things under her control. It was obviously an alarming moment for Rasheeda when she got to know that Shano doesn’t believe in what she said & this could clearly result in losing Amin’s vote of confidence & that is why she decided to put Shano through more torture because Shano’s honesty could cost her, her whole plan. I felt for Shano a lot when she sat on her bed with an expression of disbelief on her face, it was like for the first time Shano felt helpless & she saw that the last ember of hope she was clinging onto disappeared & now there was nothing left. No hope, nothing but only helplessness.

It seems like the next episode would be happening like this one too. Finally Shano & Khalil are going to face their worst fears & those plans that Abdur Rehman has fabricated for them. This episode for sure belonged to Rasheeda & to be more precise – Samiya Mumtaz. I think no other actress could’ve done justice to the role of Rasheeda because she has a perfect face for it. She carries a calm & genteel facade but deep down, there’s a volcano of hatred that’s gushing through her thoughts every single time & the way Samiya Mumtaz has painted it on screen is commendable. I loved this episode as it was perfect & kept my interest intact from beginning till the end, it was ‘intense’ & I’m sure all the upcoming episodes will be exactly the same. I just so can’t wait to find out what happens next. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Sadqay Tumhare. :)

Main Bushra- Episode 19: Love is in the air!

0

Guys and gals, Bushra SMILED  today and that too a broad, beaming smile. <3 I think this calls for a celebration! Without a speck of doubt, this was Main Bushra’s BEST episode. And after so many dreary episodes, we deserved a light-hearted one fair and square! I’ve lost count of all the times I said, ‘Awww so cute’ throughout the episode. Needless to say, Bushra and Shayan are made for each other <33.  I just can’t get over how adorable they look together and believe me, this picture MUST be framed (see below):

mb1

I lovedd how Shayan’s outburst and absence made Bushra realize his true worth. I think she always loved him but for the first time ever, we saw Bushra admitting that she has feelings for him because deep down, she always knew how pure Shayan’s intentions have been. The thing that makes Shayan stand out is how he gives Bushra the time and space she needs. Even though he always had feelings for her, he never tried to get things his way by force. I remember how he called her before nikkah just to ensure that she’s not coerced into making such a huge decision. The only time he did raise his hand was when Bushra’s words stabbed his moral character and things started to get out of hand. Thappar- connecting people :P Haha, you’d think that Shayan’s mother’s twisted ‘aqal thikanay laganay wali’ logic actually works! On the face of it, it looks like the thappar did the trick but I think its Shayan’s understanding and thoughtful nature that earned him respect in Bushra’s eyes. They always shared a special bond because if you come to think of it, Bushra and Shayan are alike in many ways. They both grew up with a sense of deprivation, trying to prove their worth to the people they loved. Bushra wanted to be a perfect daughter in the eyes of Nasir and in Shayan’s case, even though Sabiha loved him as her own, he kind of considered it his duty to be an ideal son in order to reciprocate all the favors bestowed upon him. Also, what brings them closer  is how they both need someone with whom they can share their thoughts and feelings without any inhibitions or the fear of being judged. I loved how Shayan returned home to find Bushra all set for turning over a new leaf *cheers*. Their conversation was well-written and beautifully executed and with this, our leads have MOVED ON! ‘Mein iss safar mein na aap ko ruknay dunga na hi thaknay.’ Affan Waheed and Mawra Hocane nailed it!! I loved the meaningful glances they kept throwing each others’ way. I loved the exchange of words of gratitude. ‘Thank you tou mujhay aap ka karna chahye’ <33 Thank you tou hum viewers ka bhi karna chahye, hum kab say duayen kar rahay thay ;)

mb2

Bushra, Shayan, Sabiha- everyone was in a great mood today so when the episode ended, I ended up feeling a lot happier and relaxed. Ha! Okay so Bushra and Shayan’s post-marriage official date was super sweet and  I think Bushra’s nervousness was pretty understandable too. I  enjoyed the way Shayan made Bushra feel special by buying her gajray, confessing his love and telling her over and over again how beautiful she looked <3 Shayan talked a lot about his real parents today and I found this very natural because its relate-able how he never felt comfortable talking about them in front of Sabiha as that might’ve made her feel guilty of not taking enough care of him. But now that Bushra is here, he talks about the bittersweet memories and I think its the circumstances he grew up in that made him sensitive and considerate.

I don’t know if this was a directional or editing loophole or what, but considering the ending note of the preceding installment, I was expecting them to show the rest of Bushra’s conversation with her mother but this episode began on a somewhat different note. However, the way Sofia grew suspicious when Shayan answered her call goes to show that Bushra chose not to spill the beans.

mb3

The final part of the episode introduced something serious- Sania and her family are in for a little visit (that’s about to turn emotionally violent) and it turns out that Sania’s mother is fighting a life-threatening disease and like any other mother, she wants to see her daughter tie the knot before her death. Pretty filmy and mainstream, no? I remember a couple of weeks back, there was a confusion as to who Sania really is. I watched Episode 11 again and it’s that confirmed that Sania was only engaged to Shayan (no nikkah).

I hope and pray that Sania walks out like a sensible woman after coming to terms with the fact that Bushra is married to Shayan. I am soo not in a mood to tackle another obsessively desperate young woman!! I think Sabiha has been unfair to Sania because she was the one desperate to see Shayan and Sania together in the first place. Faraz and the shocking divorce changed the situation but the bottom line is: Shayan loves Bushra. It’s true that things would have taken a far worse turn if Shayan had married Sania, despite having feelings for Bushra. I like how Bushra is feeling guilt pangs- she is genuinely nice and conscientious :).

I admit this over and over again that Mawra Hocane is beautiful as Bushra and Affan Waheed is perfectly portraying Shayan’s character. They look flawless together <33 Andd I am soo looking forward to the next episode!!

Did you watch the episode? Share your thoughts, please!

Welcome back to School

16th December 2014 was a tragic day in our history when 131 students and teachers were massacred by terrorists in Army Public School in Peshawar. After this tragedy, schools in nearly all areas were closed for security reasons and are now reopened on 12th January 2015.

To remember those who passed away on 16th December 2014 and those who have rejoined schools on 12th January 2015 ISPR has released a song.

We see these celebrities on television very often but these pictures are not of dramas or commercials they work in but these are pictures which many people probably haven’t seen. Some of these celebrities are busy catching up with friends and others are enjoying family time. All of them are enjoying doing what they do. Fawad Khan went to India recently where he met his friend and co-star Sonam kapoor. Sonam posted a picture of two of them together and shared her happiness that Fawad visited her. Veena Malik is enjoying spending time with her son and husband. Mehreen Syed is also enjoying with her daughter and in the other picture she can be seen with her sister. Mawra Hocane looks very different in the photoshoot. Amina Sheikh looks stunning like always.

Zidd – Episode 04!

0

Hmmm. This story is obviously very different to what we’ve watched before, so when there are a few things that you like, there are also a few things you might not agree with. This episode revolved around a lot of revelations imposed on Saman & also a certain realizations that left her shattered.

Ohkay, so Saman’s family thinks they can’t deal with her anymore & now when they ran out of ideas of how she must be tackled, they decided to go for an ultimate ‘problem solving medicine’ of Pakistani nation i-e Marriage. I think this time around, I’d blame them more than Saman because what they did to her was totally inadequate. At least, Saman was honest & believed in transparency but the way her own family trapped her into this marriage to get rid of her was shocking. Saman had only been ‘engaged’ twice, so how does it give an edge to her family to get her married to a guy who was ‘married’ already? Just because they were done reasoning with her & they felt she was making it hard for them, they decided to get back at her by deceiving her into this marriage. I thought they might find out about Omar’s past after Saman’d get married to him but looks like they staged this marriage even when they knew about his marital status. I think the worst thing a family could ever do to one of its family members would be breaking the trust they have in them & this is exactly what Saman’s family did to her. I am amazed that these so-called literate people felt ‘this’ was the right thing to do & not only had they accepted a proposal of Omar, they lied to Saman till she signed the marriage contract.

Yes, we all agree that Saman has been a very difficult person & she has been very hard on her family but now when I come to think of it, her demands were simple. She did not want to get married & it’s as simple as that. I don’t think her biological clock was ticking so fast that they had to get her married by hook or by crook. Yes, she put them through a lot of awkward situations & even they had to face some sort of embarrassment because of what may seem to them as irrational decisions taken by her but at least she was honest & the least she expected from her family was that they’d be honest with her as well.

I am unsure about Omar. Where at one hand he seemed considerate, on the other he casually ended up taunting Saman for calling off her engagements. Omar even had an audacity to question her about why she broke off her engagements whereas he’s the one who needs to do the explaining. Yes, Omar on his own does seem justified because he didn’t hide the fact of him being married before but now when he had learnt that Saman had no idea about it, the least he could do was show some courtesy towards her. I am sure we can’t judge him just now but the way he quickly started acting like ‘he-is-the-husband/he-is-the-boss’ in this relation didn’t make me like his character one bit.

The more I saw Appu, the more my blood boiled. She is the one who couldn’t stop praising Omar & his family. She is the one who infiltrated Saman’s family’s mind against her & she’s the one who initiated this wreck of a wedding. I didn’t even like the way Saman’s family was still blaming her for what they did to her, for how they fell short on honesty & shattered her trust. Everyone thinks she lives in a bubble of her own, she has disconnected herself to the whole wide world, she is the one who doesn’t value her relations & she is the one who deserved it but excuse me, why would you blame someone who was clear in what she wanted from her life? I don’t think she spoke in some alien lingo for them to understand that she was not ready for a commitment yet. All her parents could do after the wedding was just wonder if she was happy or not but I don’t think they should burden themselves with this much worry too because they didn’t think of her happiness before so there’s no point in bothering about it now as well. I am actually disappointed with Raza’s attitude too. He blamed Saman for being indifferent but isn’t he the one who is totally absorbed in his life & his fiancée? I thought he was the one who actually understood his sister but looks like he also wanted to get rid of her just so that he could get married peacefully.

This episode was full of shocks & unpleasant surprises but I did enjoy the conversation Saman had with her friend & also the whole marriage function scene, it was to-the-point & just done rightly. Share your thoughts on this episode please.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Chup Raho – Episode 20

The story took a brand new turn tonight which means that Chup Raho isn’t ending anytime soon! Yasir Nawaz’s character which we thought was going to be around only for a little while has a bigger role to play in the story. He is probably going to be Rameen’s hero who will restore her faith in people and might also be the person Rameen can lean on for the rest of her life. I could not have asked for a more perfect ending for Azar’s character. Azar realized what he had done to Rameen was wrong and because of that he did not deserve to live. He was ridiculed at every step because someone like him who could not tell right from wrong even when it was quite obvious deserved just that. I am glad that my fears about Rameen returning back to Azar were proven wrong. Apparently Rameen is going to start a new life now, it remains to be seen why Rameen won’t be able to go to Rawalpindi and it is probably going to take her a long time to make a place for herself in this new house.

I should probably stop being shocked with Rameen’s stupidity by now but every time I see her falling for every little or big trap someone sets for her I can’t help but question Rameen’s mental age! It is questionable enough when someone who you have barely learned to trust asks you to go out with them in the middle of the night but it becomes even more so when they put it like this ” tu phir chalo gi mere sath factory adhi raat ko!”. And then Zarina asks Rameen not to tell anyone either because it is a “test” for her!! Who would fall for that? Only our innocent Rameen I suppose! I really hope that this next step in Rameen’s life will prove to be the one after which she learns to think more maturely. The way Rameen met Yasir’s character was very well done; there was a good reason for him being there and he could not have taken Rameen anywhere else at that time in the night. Making her sleep in his living room however was going a bit too far! He clearly has no sympathy for Rameen and doesn’t trust her either for obvious reasons. The thoughts running through Rameen’s head while he ate his breakfast were funny! Yasir’s character’s conversations with Numair in the past indicated that he is a very straight person who would never hurt a girl like that. He always stopped Numair from whatever he was doing and he ended the friendship because they were poles apart. We found out today that his wife is either dead or he is divorced and he is finding it very hard to deal with his daughters. He needs someone who can look after his daughters and the girls also appeared to be starved for company. The “chaddar” which the maid gave Rameen didn’t even pass for a proper duppatta!

In the last few episodes Naila’s health issues had been one of the things on which the writer focused more than others but this episode mainly focused on ending Azar’s character and also on showing how Rameen managed to get away from Zarina and is out of the hostel now. I have said it before and I feel like I need to say it again that I can’t relate to “Rameen’s” trials and tribulations at all mainly because like every other person who knows even a little bit about the world would know that it would not take much for Rameen to get enrolled in a good shelter house.

Were you happy to see Azar’s end? Do you think it was a wise idea to start these new developments in the story at this point? Do share your thoughts about the episode.

Aamir Khan sends legal notice to Pakistani websites over ‘fake interview’

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has issued a legal notice to a handful of Pakistani websites for running a ‘fabricated’ interview of the actor regarding his film. The interview featured questions on religion with reference to Khan’s latest release PK, reports The Economic Times.

Anand Desai, Aamir’s legal representative who sent the notice on behalf of the actor, said he was wrongly attributed to the interview.

Desai shared: “Mr Aamir Khan was shocked to find an interview attributed to him on several Pakistani websites in relation to his latest film PK. He has never given such an interview. It is clearly a fabrication by someone trying to impersonate him, done with the intent of drawing visitors to their website, and is defamatory to our client.”

54b4ebc3aa163

He added: “The impersonation is a very serious infringement of our client’s rights, and we will take legal recourse. Mr Khan will be filing a criminal complaint with the Cybercrime Cell, Mumbai Police after he returns to Mumbai.”

Currently, the Dhoom 3 leading man is in the United States of America.

Though the origin of this interview could not be traced, it was evidently picked up by a number of websites. The most common title of the interview was ‘5 questions Aamir Khan answered about PK.’ Dawn is awaiting a response from the portal that appears to have published the first story.

Most websites have managed to remove the post after news of the legal notice became known. The post on Pakistan Ki Baatein now gives an error message. The website’s Facebook page describes itself as a site about “latest media trends in Pakistan”.

54b4f0170b9fa

The short bio reads: “Along with media, we are also blogging on positive topics regarding education, people etc in Pakistan except politics. Our aim is to show positive side of Pakistan. We will share every topic of media whether it will be from Pakistan drama industry, Pakistan film industry or from Bollywood that is in gossips of Pakistanis.”

Ali Zafar At Farah Khan’s Birthday Bash – Pictures

0

Ali Zafar has done many films in India by now and it is very evident from all his statements that he feels very happy working in India. Ali Zafar thinks that it is not easy to prove one’s worth on foreign soil therefore people who are able to do that should be appreciated. Ali Zafar is also well loved by the film community in India. He has made himself many friends in the film fraternity. Farah Khan is one of many such friends. Farah Khan recently celebrated  her 50th birthday. The party she hosted was a grand affair and Ali Zafar was one of the many celebrities who were invited to the party.

The birthday bash was disturbed by policemen according to Hindustan Times who turned up at Farah’s door step because a neighbour complained about the loud music. Farah was also fined for playing loud music in the party!

Here are some pictures of Ali Zafar from the party:

Dusri Biwi- Episode 7

0

If there’s anything I’m learning from my experience of reviewing Dusri Biwi, it is definitely ‘controlling the urge to lash out!’ Throughout this episode, I kept on reminding myself, ‘Calm down- it’s just a play.’ There’s absolutely nothing likeable about Hassan. Period. That’s one way to express contempt for him in a ‘civil’ way. But actually, this Hassan guy makes me go ballistic because seriously, there is a limit to dhitai and besharmi or at least I thought there was!! ‘Sab kuch itna achanak hogya’ and ‘Mein Farah ko khona nahe chahta tha’- that’s how Hassan explains why he married Farah and you know, I felt like punching him in the face when he said,’Shayad koi kami thi!!’ But thankfullyyyyy, someone give an award or something to his friend (the ONLY sane guy and voice of reason in this play so far) for saying all those things I wanted to say for sooo long. I would just like to comment that Hassan’s life was next to perfect and there was no void to fill, agar kami ki baat ho tou sirf Hassan mein sharam aur decency ki bohat zyada kami thi!!

And now for something that gave me this what-on-earth-am-i-watching feeling! Look, Pakistan may be one of the backward countries of the world but come on yaar, khat-o-kitabat? Ab itnay buray halaat bhi nahe huay bhai!! Give me room to breathe, please!! Did Amir ever come across as a person who’d choose to write a letter, out of all effective communicative means, for explaining Hassan’s infidelity? Face palm! Amir, who was supposed to be a force to reckon with, drops by to deliver this letter personally but since he’s a complete nutjob, he doesn’t wait for Aisha’s arrival and hands over the letter to the house maid. Andd this calls for a double facepalm. Hassan gets hold of it and well, Amir is behind the bars. Wow, the police are super fast these days. I am actually glad he’s out of the scene because I realize he was all words and no action.

Frustrated_man_at_a_desk_(cropped)

I remember talking about Aisha’s gullibility last week and my my, her gullibility graph is sloping upwards to say the least. Farah’s call today was enough to confirm all suspicions and the excuses Hassan gave were downright lame but Aishaaaaa, I don’t know what would it take to shed Hassan’s ideal image off her mind. A few serious monologues and then what? Hassan’s phony kind words and lo and behold! Biwi No.1 is happy again.

10849828_1515683538707097_5414599180951667670_n

One thing that baffled and infuriated and rendered me speechless at the same time was how Hassan flew off the handle and scolded Farah when she announced the big news. I mean, family planning, anyone? If you don’t wish to have kids and your wife falls pregnant AND you react to it by scolding and blaming HER, then you should probably google: what’s the easiest way to commit suicide? But no, he won’t do that because torture abhi baqi hai meray dost!

Well, the heavyduty part of this episode was Aisha and Hassan losing their child. Trust me-I don’t wanna sound insensitive but I couldn’t feel for them. Believe me- I tried to! Hassan is shedding tears right now but I’m sure very soon it will dawn on him: hey, I have a Biwi No.2 who is alive and kicking, oh sorry, expecting!! You see, perks of having two wives? All jokes apart, it’s the writer’s frame of mind that makes me wince. *sighs* And yes, once upon a time, Fahad Mustafa was a choosy, mature actor. *weeps*

So that’s what the episode was all about. Don’t forget to share your thoughts!

Aik Pal_ Episode 8: The rich taker and the poor giver!

0

The situations cliched and the characters seen before, yet Aik Pal is interesting. When you have a contrast between four characters, the story itself becomes interesting and you don’t have to try too hard to like it. You get engrossed in their lives and there is little margin for boredom. But, there is something that can ruin a perfectly written story. Dragging_wasting more than one scene on one development in the story.

jjkhkihi;

The episode was no doubt dragged. We had Noor Fatima discussing about her interview with her mother, in three separate scenes. Then we saw Shaazi getting ready for the Malik Sahab and getting scolded from her mother in two scenes repeatedly. Imran dropped in with the locket he had promised Shaazi and wasted two to three scenes while planning for it and buying it. Bareera’s MIL’s constant ranting and Omair’s laziness were all repetitive. Dragging makes a good story lose its charm.

jjkhkihi;viui

Bareera had it coming. I don’t feel sorry for her because she has thrown herself into this mess. Her dad, her sister, everyone warned her, but she was head over heels in love with Omair and refused to listen to anybody. Omair’s love was not long lasting, he initially did side with Bareera but his real intentions were to get her father’s business and that is pretty evident now.

Bareera’s visit to her father was the best part of the episode. His concern for her was touching. I really feel for him, especially if he has to give up his business for Omair.

bjwbwbvbjni

Rani has fallen for Mus’haf, like she has fallen for every other guy in the village and it isn’t a good sign for Mus’haf’s future. How will the Chauhdry react when he knows about this? Still it was good to see Mus’haf doing what he loves. He is the poor giver. Someone who is willing to sacrifice everything for the sake of spreading education in his village. He was warned about the Chauhdry by a fellow teacher at school.

Woh (chauhdry) samajh raha thha ke tum kuch dinon mein bhaag jao ge….

Mushaf’s friend Mukarram’s character is very much likeable. His news are the main source of info for the seedhe saadhe Mus’haf. I liked his conversation with Mushaf about why he doesn’t want to go to school.

wi

I am anxiously waiting for Noor Fatima and Mushaf’s meeting and would really dread her and Imran’s marriage. He is in love with Shaazi and he should really leave Noor Fatima alone, but then again, the way Noor Fatima agreed to marry him was plain stupid. The phrase apne paun par kulhari marna is suitable for her. I have a feeling that the malik sahab will punish Imran for insulting him.

What are your thoughts on this episode?

Guitarist, music composer and producer Shallum Xavier from rock band Fuzön tied the knot Friday with friend – now better half – Areeba Ajanee.

54b1040bb402b

Speaking to Dawn about his significant other, Shallum said he has known Ajanee for some time before the question of marriage arose.

“I have known Areeba for four years and we are great friends. We decided that this friendship should go beyond that and turn into something even more beautiful — which is marriage.”

While Shallum is from the world of music, Ajanee is into crunching numbers as a financial analyst.

Shallum has been associated with Fuzön since its inception in 2001 and was also featured in Coke Studio’s seventh season as guest musician.

Mark Zuckerburg accepted his mistake for removing Hamza Ali Abbasi’s post from Facebook

Hamza Ali Abbasi expressed his feeling on recent paris attacks where he said that Islam is a religion of peace and do not allow unjust killing. He expressed that as a Muslim his Blood boils when someone Insults Prophet Muhammad (P.B..U.H) but that doesn’t give a right to kill anyone. However the west needs to understand that “Freedom of Expression” doesn’t mean that you should insult other’s religion.

2

This post of Hamza Abbasi got removed by the facebook admin and his profile got deactivated which is of course Ironic and Hypocritical as Mark Zuckerburg recently updated the status that Facebook had always been a place where people around the globe can express their opinion without hindrance.

116-600x385

Minutes after Hamza shared this facebook Admin message on his page, people started sharing it as a comment under Mark Zuckerburg’s status and finally this came under notice of Mark Zuckerburg and he accepted his mistake for removing the post and called out his colleague to look into this matter.

Facebook Removes Hamza Ali Abbasi’s Post

0

Hamza Ali Abbasi makes full use of his facebook account in order to express all kinds of opinion whether they are status updates meant to inform the viewers about his upcoming projects or they are his own personal opinions about things that are happening in Pakistan or around the world. Hamza Ali Abbasi’s fans always look out for what he has to say and he always gets a good response from them.

It is ironic and hypocritical of facebook to remove one of Hamza Ali Abbasi’s posts only days after the owner of facebook Mark Zuckerberg declared that he believed in the freedom of speech and he wasn’t going to allow anyone come in his way. This statement by Mark Zuckerberg came after according to him some Muslims threatened him of dire consequences if he did not remove some posts that insulted their Prophet Muhammad PBUH.

Hamza Ali Abbasi in his post talked about the recent events in France in which he expressed his opinion not only about those responsible for the killings but also the West for not being able to understand the responsibility with which the right of freedom of speech is to be exercised. His status update was removed minutes after it was posted. Hamza Ali Abbasi’s account was deactivated for a while because he crossed certain limits set by the facebook administration. Here is what Hamza said in his post:

Kis Se Kahoon_ Episode 5-6

0

One has to praise how stunning the two lead ladies look in Kis Se Kahoon. While Salma’s dressing and makeup is simple, Hadiqa’s is chic and stylish. The contrast is nicely done.

Hadiqa is a smart girl. She heard Mehreen’s (Fahad’s ex-girlfriend) side of the story and got to know how Fahad used her. She is well aware of his mindset now and won’t fall prey to him easily. This was evident from the way she took his bouquet and card for Valentines Day and then threw it into the bin in front of him.

wd3

Fahad’s character is cliched albeit interesting. He will totally let go of his self-esteem to get girls, and when they fall into his trap, he will demean them every way possible. That is why he leaked private photos of Mehreen and still can’t let her live in peace. He told her to take back whatever she said to Hadiqa and change the story to show him as the victim. I really want to know why he likes to disrespect and embarrass women? There must be an explanation for his behaviour.

Salma’s teacher asked her to present her poetry in front of the class, but clearly no one understood the poem and made fun of Salma. Her teacher and Hadiqa are the only ones who appreciated her creativity.

Apni dunya mein wapas ajao…..

Salma’s mother’s reminder was painful. Things are not going in her family’s favour, since they will probably have to go to a shelter home (I hope Hadiqa prevents that) and two of her younger sisters can’t go to school because of the fees problem. This does not stop Salma from dreaming and I hope her dreams will help her to improve her life.

The new and interesting character, Asphandyar portrayed by Essa Chauhdry is the son of a businessman. His father is a friend of Mr.Qureshi (Hadiqa’s father). He wanted to do what he loved but his father forced him to live on his terms. That angered Asfandyar and he became full of hatred. Then he discovered painting, which worked as a stress relieving activity for him.

Mujhe laga ke mere andar ka zeher brush ke zariye canvas par muntaqil horaha hai aur ab jab bhi mujhe ghussa aata hai tou mein yeh brush thaam leta hun

rmf-shahnan_2015-01-09-16-37-25-1

I love the story and all the tracks but there is only one problem with Kis Se Kahoon. The starting time is supposed to be 8:10 pm but it starts at 8:30 pm.

What did you guys think of the episode?

What is the new normal? The media’s role in desensitizing the audience.

0

It is said that if you view acts of violence/ aggression and the likes, it in turn reduces our responsiveness to them thereby making them appear normal to us. Seeing a pattern of behaviour over and over again, we tend to subconsciously accept it. Talking to my sister who resides in Karachi, I often hear her say “Yeh toh yahan roz ki baat hai…” as if a bombing was as commonplace as fireworks at a wedding. People have a lukewarm response at most when narrating the latest target killing, tact of terrorism, etc. Similarly, we the audience are being routinely exposed to drama after drama that are passing on violence and abuse as if they were promoting some new blend of chai. Has abuse become something we now readily accept as a part of life? Is putting up with violence the prerequisite for a girl getting married? How many such concepts are quickly creeping into our dramas making them the new normal?

Browse through any random drama and you’d come across some common themes- dusri shadi, women putting up with abuse because their husband lost their cool, talaaq, jadu and jahalat. We are repeatedly seeing women being mistreated, ridiculed, humiliated, raped and yet it is simply a part of the storyline and in the end, the women pretend like nothing was ever wrong- a few quick tears and all is well with the world. I often wonder where the writers who pen these storylines seek inspiration for their creativity? Is our society embedded in such vices and are we being ignorant of shrugging them off or is this slowly becoming something we are ready to accept as a part of the society we live in?

What good can come of out showing a man who takes another wife and then justifying his reasons for it? Is there nothing a woman can say or do to ensure her man will remain faithful to her for the years she gives to her marriage? Why is it that every time there’s an argument between a husband and wife the wife is either slapped into submission or shown the door with a divorce? Have we seriously become so numb that we watch all of this unfolding on our televisions without so much as flinching? Soon there will be a time when every girl getting married assumes her husband is entitled to abusing her as he pleases and she will become accepting of this treatment. Are we creating a breed of domesticated, unthinking women who have little purpose in life except putting up with whatever they are subject to? I am seriously frustrated with the line-up of dramas that deal with some or all of these issues and never actually make a point. Can we please just put an end to all this rubbish?

Yours in watching,

Kanwal Murtaza

Goya- Episode 9 Review

Just when I feared the buson ke dhakkey would start to get to Omar, I was relieved to see him take pleasure in the little things in life. While he may be struggling, he has a strong support system in the form of Mohini and Mrs. Mirza and that pretty much completes him. I think all he ever wanted was to be loved and here in the midst of these two women, he gets all the attention he has been craving. Even though he is supposedly the man of the house, he is conditioned to following instructions so Mohini has full control over his actions. I was happy to note the conversation between Mohini and her mother where unlike our sazish- bhari TV moms, Asma advised Mohini to back off and let Omar be.

imagehs

The scene where the trio went to thank Adnan was nice- a little awkward initially but Adnan isn’t one to let anything embarrass him. Further to their brief discussion on how Omar commutes to work, Omar is handed car keys by his office and told that the CEO has tweaked the contract to allow for a car. Thankfully we won’t be seeing Mohini pretending to drive anymore! Sr. Hashmi seems to enjoy belittling his junior every chance he gets- Hamesha dosron pe depend karney wali, fakheeron jaisi fitrat toh nahin develop hoti tumhari… In the heat of the moment, Omar decides he will quit Adnan’s job but Mohini’s “breaking news” distracts him. It appears that the two are expecting a child and Mohini tries to make Omar realize that he can’t allow his father to get to him since he has a responsibility now not just as a husband but as a would-be father too.

Rahat Hashmi is so full of himself he leaves no opportunity to put others down- I’m starting to think Haniya is getting a little sick of his attitude. Haniya is no gold-digger and it wouldn’t surprise me if she leaves Rahat. In fact, I’m secretly hoping she leaves him. A new character was introduced tonight- a Bengali housekeeper- Zeb-un-Nisa. Rahat’s sudden change of body language gave away that he is extremely uncomfortable seeing Zeb-un-Nisa and he tries to make petty excuses to get rid of her but Haniya decides otherwise. Some quick flashbacks reveal a vision of a lady that sends Rahat into a pool of sweat. Did Rahat have an affair with someone he’s lived to regret? Zeb’s expressions state that she too knows Rahat Hashmi and she probably planned on coming here. Rahat is turning out to be far more intriguing than I ever imagined.

I’m thoroughly enjoying Omar and Mohini and their casual, sarcastic exchanges. There’s simply one word to describe these too- CUTE! I liked how Omar reacted to the overuse of the word and I’m grateful for that. It’s nice to see that the level-headed Mohini has a personality that defines her in every relationship. She knows when to take charge of the situation and she knows when to let go. I’m dreading seeing these two break apart. They are just MFEO! Looking forward to seeing more next week.

Mahira Khan talks about Raees

0

Mahira Khan talked to The Express Tribune about how she bagged the role in Raees, her first Bollywood movie. She discussed the details of her audition and her thoughts about working in the movie.

How long did you wait for a script, such as Raees, to come your way? Did you refuse to do any Bollywood films in the mean time?

I was neither waiting  for a perfect script from Bollywood nor had I read many. I got a call for an audition and wasn’t told the exact details of the film, except the names of the producers and the director (Rahul Dholakia), both of whom I liked. Once I read the scenes, I found them to be interesting and went ahead and auditioned for the role.

Media reports suggest that Shah Rukh showed up at your audition for Raees. If this is true, tell us about what the audition process was like. Were you confident that you would get selected for the role?

I just did what I had to: learnt my lines and gave it my best shot. I was nervous before the audition and thought I’d forget all my lines. I did meet Shah Rukh. He was very kind.

Shah Rukh plays a Muslim character in the film and you come from a Muslim family from Pakistan, where Urdu diction holds significance. Do you think this played in your favour?

I’m not sure if it played in my favour, but I hope that it does. The character is that of a Gujarati Muslim, so the diction and accent will be Gujarati.

Do you feel any pressure debuting opposite notable actors, such as Shah Rukh Khan and Nawazuddin, in a Farhan Akhtar production?

Well, yes. There is always a bit of pressure when performing with such good actors. I’m a fan of both Shah Rukh and Nawaz. Luckily, I’ve had the chance to perform with some of the best actors in Pakistan, who helped me out a lot on set. I also learnt a lot from them and hope for the same with Shah Rukh and Nawazuddin. Insha’Allah.

What edge do you think Pakistani actors have over Indian actors?

None. Only a good actor has an edge over a weak actor. A hardworking actor has an edge over a lazy actor. Nationality has nothing to do with it.

You worked in TV for a while after acting in the film Bol. How hard do you think will it be for you to re-transition into film from TV?

I have worked on a film Bin Roye and am currently shooting for another film directed by Asim Raza. So, the transition has been made already. What I’m nervous about is working in an environment where I don’t really know anybody. Everything will be new for me except for the camera, I guess.

A challenge starring opposite Shah Rukh is that it is difficult for any actor to outshine him due to his star power. What are your thoughts on that?

I don’t worry about such things. If my co-actor shines, it means I have shone as well and vice versa. These are not the kind of thoughts I focus on. I read a script, meet my director and go with my instinct.

Areeba Mohsen

Digest Writer – Episode 15!

Just when we anticipate if there’s a margin of something unexpected to happen, they always surprise us with something totally unpredicted. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this episode because now we can see a balance forming between Fareeda’s personal & professional life. Even though both her lives are parallel for now but I am sure that’s going to change very soon.

I really feel for Fareeda. Previously when she used to sulk over losing Shehryaar, to be honest, I thought it wasn’t required because Fareeda imposed this marriage on herself but after seeing how Shaukat treats her, I actually understand why she thinks of Shehryaar every now & then. I think more than anything, she actually misses the way he used to value her talent, how he used to appreciate her for what she was good at. Shehryaar & Fareeda actually connected to each other on a different level & unfortunately, Shaukat hasn’t been able to replace that bond. It is a human psyche that you always remember the things, people & relations that made you happy in the past if your present is as dull & dour, therefore Fareeda is forced to think of what could’ve been after she has experienced what has happened.

Fareeda’s MIL is a despicable woman & so is her son; Shaukat. What she did & how she reacted every single time was an accurate picture of how typical people treat their DIL’s like. I actually was surprised when they revealed that Fareeda was expecting a child, this was totally unexpected but I think it adds another dimension to the story. I found the whole name-game very convincing & real because this is what mostly happens. Even if the MIL is not happy at the birth of a grand-daughter, she wouldn’t allow her DIL to have a satisfaction of naming her child. Sajida thinks that the birth of a baby girl isn’t worth celebrating, therefore she doesn’t allow Fareeda to share the happiness with her neighbours but very conveniently she swoops in & snatches away what could’ve been the happiest moment of Fareeda’s maternal life which was; naming her very first child, her daughter. Sajida obviously feels nothing for her granddaughter but she wants to name her Surraiya, after her own mother & yes, I must say that whole mithai distribution scene was so emotional; it actually pulled the strings. :/

I was really missing the interactions between Fareeda & her siblings & I am so glad this episode covered that too. It was really sweet of Farhaan to share his thoughts with Fareeda & acknowledge what she does for him. I was actually really happy to see Shakeela too. Of all the people, most wise & supportive Shakeela knows about Shehryaar. She seemed genuinely concerned for Fareeda because she can see her sister isn’t happy & Shakeela exactly knows why. Yes, I think she was right, if only Fareeda had spoken about Shehryaar, things would’ve been completely different but sadly, it has been turned into a wishful thinking & there’s nothing more to it.

I must say, Anwar is my favourite father figure from the recent dramas that I’ve seen. I remember when Digest Writer began, we all thought he was one of those staunch & typical fathers who only cared for his son & not his daughter but the way he has changed & actually voices out his guilt & grief by looking at the suffering of his daughter Fareeda makes him a very genuine & sincere father. The way he tells Zarina to take care of Fareeda so that she can rest for a while actually goes to show that he has been scarred by what he did to his daughter & he blames himself completely seeing how she is facing the repercussions of his decision. I really like Fareeda’s whole family because they actually seem genuine & real. They’ve always stood by each other in tough times & have celebrated together in happy times. Isn’t it good to see that Fareeda’s parents didn’t just get her married to cut her off from the family, but they are actually worried for her wellbeing more than ever. This makes me think that if Fareeda’d ever decide to part her ways with Shaukat, her parents wouldn’t judge her because they know she has tried really hard & has given everything she could to save this marriage but her in-laws didn’t value & respect her, so when the time arises, I am sure Fareeda’s parents will support her decision & stand by her no matter what.

Ohkay so, Mazhar Hayat thinks digest writers don’t make good drama writers & he doesn’t approve of their thought process. He thinks dramas are meant to be written by the seasoned writers because he himself has seen how much he had to struggle because of these newbies, so now when he is in a position, he only wants to confine this niche for the drama writers only. I thought that the channel head forgot about his decision of signing a 2 drama deal with Rushk-e-Hina but fortunately he remembered. & oh this reminds me of what I said about Mazhar Hayat as it was proven right this time, I knew he would cause harm to Fareeda’s writing career. Obviously, for now she herself has taken a break but I am sure when she will decide to make a comeback, Mazhar Hayat would do everything to resist it. It’s good to see that Fareeda now has a few supporters within the channel itself, so I am sure the day she’ll decide to write again, she will be welcomed with open arms.

So, this is what this episode was all about. I am glad that the pace is picking up after a couple of slower episodes which I didn’t mind at all. I don’t know if Mahroosh has a considerable role to play or she is just added in the drama to depict what goes behind the cameras. She’s an opportunist, who’s even ready to keep up with an oldie like Mazhar Hayat for the sake of her career. She’s over ambitious & wouldn’t mind bonding with a man of Mazhar’s age to get herself ahead in her acting career. Till now she hasn’t contributed to the story so let’s see if it’s meant to be that way or it will change in the upcoming episodes.

I liked the way Fareeda’s hairstyling & dressing changed as they showed the passage of time. Attention to detail has been the strength of this play since day one so I am glad they didn’t just stick to one look & forgot about it. They’ve kept on experimenting with not only Fareeda’s but everyone’s looks to suit the circumstances which I really really like. Just in the previous episode Fareeda was all glammed up to suit the image of a newly wedded girl but now she was seen in very simple suits & neatly tied bun to show that she’s a home-maker who has a responsibility of household chores on her. I must say the one who is responsible for the styling of all the characters has done a commendable job. It was a great episode & I can’t wait to find out what happens next. I am sure these parasite-like in-laws (FIL excluded) still have some more show time left but I hope Fareeda packs them up & gets rid of them soon. Share your thoughts please.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

PK edging closer to match Waar’s revenue collection

PK has become the highest worldwide Bollywood grosser raking in over INR600 crore. It’s a win-win for Aamir Khan as he beats the record for his other film Dhoom 3 which had earned slightly over INR540 crore.

Talking to Dawn, Marketing Manager from Distributor Club (PVT) Ltd Hassaan Rizvi says: “PK has made over Rs18 crore in Pakistan and continues to attract movie-goers. It will be in cinemas until the end of January so I’m sure it will make a lot more. (Alprazolam) ”

He adds: “The movie thrives because it entails a strong message, and of course because of Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani.”

PK‘s box office revenue in Pakistan is inching close to beating Waar’s record of Rs22 crore (statistics provided by Saad Baig of Footprint (Pvt) Ltd). By Jan 6, PK had made almost Rs15 crore and has managed to cross Rs18 crore in a matter of four days. It is likely that the movie will keep the momentum going and Aamir Khan’s depiction of a quirky alien addressing deep rooted social issues will keep the house full.

Whether PK will break the record for Dhoom 3, which did colossal business in Pakistan making over Rs24.5 crore, is still up in the air. PK has three weeks left in cinemas to do so.
