Renowned Pakistani actor Talat Iqbal passed away in US, his family has confirmed. Talat was admitted to the hospital after his condition deteriorated following his daughter’s death. According to reports, Talat’s daughter was struggling with an illness for a long time however, it remains to be seen what the cause of death is.
According to the family, Talat’s funeral will be held after Jumma prayers in Al Rehman mosque and he will be buried at Restland graveyard in Dallas.

A drama is never complete without supporting characters, though they never receive the deserving applause and admiration like the leading characters they are equally talented and gifted. Supporting characters are wide ranging but the ones included in this article are characters of mothers, grandmothers, aunties etc. in short the senior supporting actresses.
Our industry is blessed with many actresses who have aided the industry to flour and prosper. It is with the help of these side characters that the protagonists appear more strong and well-constructed in a strong knitted plot. The web of supporting characters is usually initiator of complications in the story and helps in resolutions as well. Side characters also broaden the scope of dramas, giving insight to other aspects and scenarios of life imitations. A drawback of side characters can be that at times they are given more importance and space in the drama than the leading characters but it rarely happens. Most of the times these characters are similar giving little or no scope to the artists for utilizing their talents.
Doing the side characters have stamped their fates as mothers, grandmothers etc. Unfortunately most of these characters lack versatility and these actresses are always stuck with same benign, kind and caring or shrewd, cunning, manipulative and at times extremely evil roles. It is highly unjust that they are trapped in the snare of typecast. Though some of the actresses appear to be doing similar roles in every other play, actress like Saba Hameed, Samina Pirzada, Bushra Ansari and Hina Dilpazeer have earned the labels of most versatile actresses of the industry. Pakistan’s senior film, TV actor and director Masood Akhtar passed away on Saturday morning at the age of 82. Masood Akhtar was hospitalized from last two months in private hospital in Lahore, after he was diagnosed with lungs cancer. Five months ago Masood Akhtar’s son breath his last after being diagnosed with cancer.
Masood was a recipient of the Pride of Performance. Masood Akhtar has been a part of various TV dramas, films as well as theatre productions. He got fame through one of his play “Paisa Bolta Hai” which was staged at Alhamra Arts Council in the 1970s.

Veteran Pakistan television actor Sajjad Kishwar passes away at the age of 89. Sajjad Kishwar was born in 1933, in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. He was was a well-known Pakistani film and television actor. In later years of his 60 years long career span, he mostly worked from Pakistan television’s Islamabad station and acted in many popular dramas. He breathed his last in Rawalpindi, after a prolonged illness.
He passed away on 24 May 2022, veteran actor Sajjad Kishwar’s funeral prayers were announced to be offered in Committee Chowk, Rawalpindi.
The actor has done uncountable hit performances and made his significant place in acting. Sajjad Kishwar received lifetime achievement awards, Pakistan television awards and many other awards. He worked in Radio Pakistan and got lifetime achievement award for his services for Radio Pakistan.

4) Shamim Hilali
This Lady is truly an artist. What I like the most about is her outstanding simplicity, which is feature owned by her only. Her most memorable performances came in the dramas ‘Maigh Malhaar’, which aired on former channel STN and ‘Sophia’, which was a very popular drama on PTV. Being a senior actress, Shamim’s performances do not make her seem like an actress but a natural performer. Its always a pleasure watching her on screen,whether it be in Maat, Uraan or Talkhiyaan.
5) Saba Hameed
“Azam, Aap Agaye..?” is something I would never forget about Saba Hameed,after all that’s what I remember first about her, that is her Flawless performance in Family Front. Seems like Hina Dilpazeer of Bulbulay is a new version of the hilarious Family front team. Saba Hameed is a capable actress who is good in everything she does on screen. However, it is a pity that such a wonderful actress is suffering through typecasting where every next role been offered to her is of a cruel mother-in-law just like in Main Abdul Qadir hun, Qaid-e-Tanhai and Ik Tamana Lahasil, on the top of the list. Believing that Saba Hameed would soon be seen in something new and exciting, it is to say that we, as an audience still rates her on top of the list.
6) Rubina Ashraf
Rubina Ashraf is a great actress who keeps entertaining her audience through her acting skills. Though her acting in her new serial Parchaiyaan didn’t enjoy good rating, she is still very close to the hearts of the viewers. Her performance as Inspector Shehla is something that is kind of a historical piece of work.
7) Hina Dilpazeer
Momo has created a new world in the field of comedy, especially when the drama industry is suffering through a really bad taste in terms of comedy. Hina, who started her career very late has proven that talent has no age. Her acting or perhaps the masterpiece of work in Bulbulay will always be remembered by the viewers and the next generation. I, personally like Hina’s acting a lot, probably because of the fact that I have been adoring her for her personality and dressing since she first appeared on screen in a discussion program called,Uljhan Suljhan. Dr Mahnoor is a young doctor from Balochistan who became victim of a heinous acid attack. The news became a nationwide shock. The attack took place in Quetta and the young doctor was shifted to Karachi from Quetta where her initial treatment has been done. This case has once again brought forward how women are still being subjected to acid attacks in their safe places.
Acid attack on Dr Mahnoor also became a controversial issue as the attacker was killed in an encounter by the police in the very first hour. A senior doctor from Quetta, Dr Ishaq has spoken to the media and he has revealed what actually went down that day.
Dr Ishaq shared that after the attack, they were all in shock. He revealed how Dr Mahnoor was extremely professional and she was busy studying at that time as well. They took the young woman to a ward where they kept pouring water on her wounds for an hour. They wanted to shift her to a secure place as they had no place or facility in the hospital to deal with these injuries. He exposed how more female doctors are getting threatened and he feels that more such cases can happen.

She wrote: “By Allah’s will our beloved father, Muhammad Anwar Iqbal has passed away to his eternal abode. Namaz e Janaza will be held after Isha prayer at BAIT-UL-MUKARRAM Masjid on Hassan Square, Karachi. Tadfeen will be at Meva Shah Grave Yard. Requests prayers for his maghfirat.
Anwar Iqbal Baloch was a veteran Pakistani television actor and director, who achieved fame with the hit Pakistani drama series “Shama.” He was the son of a well-known politician from Balochistan, Mr. Haji Muhammed Iqbal Baloch, who played a prominent role in the independence of Pakistan. Senior Pakistani actress Ayesha Khan passed away at the age of 77. According to the details, she was found dead in her apartment in Gulshan Iqbal. Her neighbours called police and they recovered her dead body which is one week old.

Senior PTV actor Anwar Ali passed away after a prolonged illness at the age of 71. He was best known for his roles in dramas such as Khudabaksh, Nishani, Andhera Ujala, Ababeel, Home Sweet Home, Comedy Theatre, Sona Chaandi, and many others. He was also a renowned stage actor who gained fame for his excellent comic timing, expressive acting, and body language. At the peak of his career, he left showbiz and devoted himself to a religious life.
Anwar Ali had been suffering from kidney disease and paralysis. He also suffered two strokes. According to his family, he was admitted to a hospital in Lahore on Sunday after his condition worsened. Despite medical efforts, he could not recover and passed away. His funeral will be offered after his daughter arrives from abroad and will be held in Model Town, Lahore.
Earlier, senior actor Nasir Chinioti had requested prayers for Anwar Ali’s health. May Allah grant him the highest ranks in the Hereafter and give patience to his children, family, and loved ones. She has appeared in many notable Pakistani dramas including Bheegi Palkain, Baba Jani, Sheher E Malal, Mein Mehru Hun, Umeed, Siraat e Mustaqeem, Sila Aur Jannat and others. Afshan Qureshi’s husband Abid Qureshi was also an actor and they got married after developing friendship during the set of their film. Ace Pakistani actor Faysal Quraishi is Afshan Qureshi’s son. Her husband passed away when Faysal was quite young.
Recently, Afshan Qureshi appeared in Madeha Naqvi’s morning show Subh Ka Samaa. In the show, actress opened up about her love marriage.
Talking about it, Afshan Qureshi said, “I was an outsider (someone from outside my husband’s family). We had a love marriage, and since my mother-in-law was unwell, my husband married me in secret and asked me to keep it hidden. However, we did get married in the presence of his brother. We were married for several months, but he didn’t take me to meet his mother. Once I insisted, and then he took me to his home. Initially, my mother-in-law seemed upset with me. She would also correct my Urdu — she was from Lucknow, and I was a Memoni, so my Urdu was quite poor. I used to mispronounce words. I had thought she would only find flaws in me.”
She further added, “I spent 15 days with her, and during that time, she taught me a lot. I realized that although she appeared strict on the outside, she actually had love for me deep down — because I was her son’s wife. She used to cook for me, and there were many small incidents that showed her care for me. My husband used to say, ‘She scolds you, but she loves and cares for you.'”
Veteran actor Abid Ali passed away. He was unwell for the last two months. His ailment was sudden and intense that doctors couldn’t save his life a part from all possible efforts.

What does self-confidence mean? It simply means to be confident of one’s abilities and to have faith in one’s self. Let me make it clear at the start that self confidence and over confidence are two completely different things. Over-confidence would mean expecting more from yourself than you are capable of or thinking that you are above everyone else for nor real reason. Self-confidence is positive and over confidence can harm a person in many ways.
Self-confidence is very important because people who are self-confident find it easier to sail through life in general. They know themselves better than others who may not be self-confident, they do not get influenced by other’s opinions easily, they find it easier to solve their problems and most importantly they have realistic expectations. When these expectations are not met, they still continue having faith that they will be able to achieve their goals next time. Self-confidence gives rise to a positive attitude towards everything. A person with no self-confidence, on the other hand will be very worried about the opinions of others and most often would rely on the approval of people around him in order to feel happy. People who are not self-confident feel a greater need to make people happy and those who are confident can choose more wisely who deserves to be pleased and who doesn’t.
Are some people born confident? The answer is no. Self confidence is definitely not something that is handed over to people by nature or genes but it is something that is gradually acquired, the circumstances in which a person is brought up also determine how confident that person would be. The surroundings in which a person is brought up matters a lot in determine if he or she will grow up to be a confident individual or not. If the parents and the siblings continuously keep on telling you that you are not good or capable enough, you will automatically start believing it and that is the thinking that will continue to guide you through all your life and make things very difficult. On the other side a positive environment in the house will make a person more confident and he or she will grow up thinking that they are capable enough to deal with things themselves. Later on, the school environment makes all the difference – a strict teacher and class fellows who bully you can never help in any way. Children who get bullied at school are likely to be less confident than those who had a good group of friends in school. There are also those children who may not have a cordial environment in school but the atmosphere at home is good enough. They share things with their parents and the parents give the children confidence to deal with these difficult situations.
Parents who keep on telling children what to do and what not to do continuously and do not let them be independent may think that they are doing their children a favor but that is usually not the case. As early as possible, the parents should show faith in their kids and tell them that they are as capable of doing things for themselves as is anyone else. That would develop self-confidence in children and they will learn what they are capable of doing.
Self confidence helps people at every step of the way – at school, in college, at work and most of all in interacting will all sorts of people on daily basis. The question is that, if someone did not get those ideal circumstances to develop as a confident person, what should they do? Are they going to lack confidence all their lives? No that is not true. One can always change oneself by following few simple methods.
1. If you judge yourself by other people’s standards, stop doing that right away. A lot of people think that it is very important how others feel about them and that makes them lose confidence in themselves because it is almost impossible to please everyone all the time. Evaluate your own actions and do not let other people decide what you are doing right or wrong. Stop looking for other people’s approval.
2. Stop comparing yourself with others. Sometimes the root cause of lack of confidence is that we excessively compare ourselves with others. Most often a person who lacks confidence thinks that those around him are better than him in more ways than one – it could be looks, intelligence, status or anything at all. Do not compare your looks or circumstances with others.
3. Do things which you think you can’t do. It can be anything – like having your say in a public gathering. Yes, that can be a big step for someone who does not have confidence enough to speak in public. Put your guards down and speak out in a where you most often would sit quietly. Doing things that you are afraid to do will help you boost your confidence, if you do so without worrying about the consequences.
4. Help your friends with their problems. You may not be able to do much with your life but it is always easy to help other people out with their problems. It is something that make you feel useful and at the same time will make you more confident about your own self.
5. Stop worrying about how you look. I agree that looking good contributes to feeling confident but it is not true for someone who feels that they can never look good enough, no matter what. Many people do not feel confident because they feel they are not good looking enough. I say, stop worrying about your looks and concentrate on what you believe is the best in you and gradually you will be more confident about your looks too.
Love Yourself. Last but not the least, learn to love yourself. Put yourself first in your life, stop doubting yourself and see your good points.

Ohkay so, usually when the drama’s are about to end, the viewers gete curious & await the last episode eagerly but I tried watching it twice & it didn’t grab my attention so I decided to put in on hold. Just completed this episode after quite a few hours of its airing & I must say I am going to ask again, was this episode necessary? The answer is no because this episode didn’t make an iota of a contribution in Iqra’s journey & it just brought forward the non-issues of an insecure spoiled immature boy who didn’t need this much of attention since we weren’t given a chance to warm up to his character, therefore understanding & feeling his predicament was out of question & he just seemed like an unthankful boy who got everything that he wanted in his life & didn’t really understand the value of it!!!
All of a sudden, we were taken forward to the point where everything in Iqra’s life was settled, so why didn’t this drama end at that note? If I look back, last week’s episode would’ve been a perfect ending because Ayaaz understood & gave Iqra the freedom to make decisions for her family. Ayaaz got a chance to establish himself & things were sorted, so why did the writer believe that we’d be interested to find out Mr. Mamur’s thoughts on his Amaan jaan’s nokri whereas he should’ve been shown as someone who had a lot of appreciation for what his mother had done for the entire family. I can’t wrap my head around the fact that a child who grew up in a loving environment where both the parents had a mutual understanding of certain things, could turn out to be so insecure, bitter & immature that he would give priority to his parent’s nashta that too expecting it from his future wife to take care of it on his behalf?
This entire episode was written for the conversation that happened between Iqra & Mamur where she makes him understand how it is alright for a girl to pursue a career especially after she has invested so much of time & money in her education & voila everything was sorted? So only apart from this meaningful scene, there was nothing that sparked an interested & there was absolutely nothing that this episode offered so I am still wondering why was the drama extended till this episode & why was it dragged for no good reason. Mamur ended up becoming another one of those short-lived villains who had no substance whatsoever that we often came across during the course of this journey!
The drama ended at a note where Iqra got to convince her son that it’s alright for his fiancee to be doing a job & that’s it? I have never seen such a meaningless & weak ending before. Where are Iqra’s parents? Where’s Ayaaz’s brother & his wife? That’s the thing with our writers & directors that they drag the story so much & unnecessarily fill the last few episodes with not-so interesting situations & when it comes to the last episode, they either have so much to wrap up or don’t really pay attention to how the drama should end, because of which a lot of supporting characters who get a lot of coverage in the beginning are ignored in the end. I think the writers & the producers really need to understand that dragging & stretching the drama doesn’t benefit anyone at all rather it ruins the drama completely. The note where Ayaaz understands the importance of Iqra’s job after he meets an accident was a perfect point to end this drama so I hope after this, the producers understand that if a story is appropriate for 16-18 episodes then they should leave it that way rather than hoping to reach the 20+ episode mark which serves no purpose & ruins the drama in the end totally! Anyways, the drama began at a good note & not sure what happened mid way. The acting of all the actors was good but Zarnish Khan stood out the most, she really is a talented actor & I hope she chooses her projects wisely. I think this drama is good for binge-watching because when I watched the initial episodes back to back, they seemed really interesting but when I had to watch this drama on weekly basis, that’s when the slow pace really kicked in & made it hard to sit through the episodes. Anyways, please share your thoughts about this entire journey of Sehra Main Safar.
