Sania Mirza was blessed with a baby boy and after that, she gained weight, however, after hard work she lost her weight.

In total, she lost 26 kgs after four months of hard work and dedication. From 89 kgs to 63 kgs, she did it.

In an interview, she talked about her weight loss journey and said, “I think if I was not an athlete then I would like to be healthy. Of course, my focus was on weight loss because I am an athlete and I had to go back to my job.”

“It’s important for me to be healthy. I am very focused and it is very important for me to be healthy not just on the outside its more from inside.”

She further said, “When I delivered Izhaan after that I felt unhealthy internally, so it’s my personality that I want to be healthy and it ha nothing to do with the athlete. I just want want to say this its important that you take 2-3 hours for yourself and exercise.”s

Sania Mirza went through a lot of changes and she shared, “I lost weight very fast but even if it’s slow it’s fine because it brings sanity to you. As a woman, when you conceive and deliver, your body and your mind go through a lot. So many things including hormones change in your body.”

Talking about postpartum depression, she said, “I didn’t go through post-partum depression because I started working out so early. I used to go on walks in the beginning. I believe its important to focus on yourself. After delivering baby your life doesn’t end but it has started.”

When Sania Mirza gained weight people criticized her a lot and threw mean comments on her.

Talking about trolls, she said, “Gosh! I realized people can be so mean. Most of them were women who were judgemental. It’s horrible when a woman who has gone through all this say such things. I feel sorry for them because they have the venomous thing in them to say such mean things.”

“At that time, those comments were hurting me because it’s not in my control that I am producing a child and gaining weight.”

For the past few months there has been news that Sania and Shoaib were having problems in their wedding because they are too busy to have time for each other. Sania Mirza finally decided to speak up about the gossip that has been circulating in the media.
She visited Sialkot and while taking to the media she said,

“Our marriage has not been easy because we are professional athletes and belonged from different countries and we knew there would be stress on us with time but we have so far managed it well. There are no problems between us at all,”. I came to Sialkot to just relax with my husband and in-laws before the start of my circuit commitments in Europe. I have had a great time and just been busy eating out and shopping to my heart’s content because I was out of the media limelight,” she added.

Sania said

“I am still as much in love with Shoaib as we were when we got married four years ago,” I know there is lot of talk about the security situation in Pakistan but I have no problems visiting Pakistan as it is my ‘sasural’,” she said. Sania said she had been shopping and had also taken time out to enjoy fruit chaat from roadside vendors. “When I went to the bazaars the shopkeepers used to first wonder whether I Sania Mirza but when they see Shoaib with me, they knew it was me and it used to be fun giving autographs and clicking pictures.

The relationship between Sania and Shoaib has not been effected by their work commitments.

“This is the best possible way to unwind before a tough tennis circuit coming up,” she said. She also said that she was a cricket fan and was disappointed at India losing the final of the World T20 tournament against Sri Lanka recently, Sania said, “I watched the final in Sialkot and we were all cheering for India to win but it was Sri Lanka’s day.”

In the latest fiasco surrounding Shoaib’s second marriage to actress Sana Javed and his divorce from Sania Mirza, she received a lot of support from Pakistan as well. She recently spoke to BBC Urdu and touched upon a lot of topics related to loss, criticism and motherhood.

Talking about the turning point in her life that changed her understanding, Sania said that one has to come to terms with the fact that not everyone will like you. Even your own family members will not like you and in her case it is millions and millions of people who will have something to say. You just need to learn to be okay with it and move on.

She was pumping milk during flight and she had so much mom guilt when she left him behind.

In her interview, Sania Mirza talked about women getting blamed for their Husband’s failures especially in the sub-continent.

She spoke on this matter when the hosts asked Sania Mirza about her ‘joru ka ghulam’ tweet which she made during the Women’s T20 World Cup in March.

In that tweet, she applauded Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc for always supporting his wife. Sania Mirza believes if the same thing has happened in the sub-continent, the men must have made fun of.

She further said, “I was trying to just picture Shoaib doing that for me and I was like, hell would have broken loose if that would have happened. They would have said that he is such a joru ka ghulam, he is going and watching a women’s match.”

She believes that it’s a cultural issue to blame women on everything. Often, Sania Mirza is criticized when she travels with her husband during cricket matches.

“I think there is a much deeper issue. The deeper issue is that a woman can always be a distraction and not a strength,” she said.

“I was lucky to not have any major symptoms for the most part of it, but I was in isolation and the toughest part was to stay away from my 2 year old and family ..I can’t even imagine what people and their families are going through when people are sick in hospital all alone and by themselves..it was scary as you aren’t very sure what to expect and hear so many different things and stories. You get a new symptom everyday and the uncertainty of it is extremely hard to deal with not just physically but mentally and emotionally as well.. I just want to say after having been through it, I was fortunate to be more or less ok through out it all, but to be away from my family was one of the scariest things – to not know when I’ll see them again”, said Sania.

Further shed added that “This virus is no joke, I took all the precautions as I could but still contracted it ..we must do everything we can to protect our friends and family. Wear your masks ,wash your hands and protect yourself and your loved ones. We are in this fight together.”

Sania Mirza, a popular Tennis star is all set to make her digital debut with the web series MTV’s ‘Nishedh Alone Together’.

The show is going to raise awareness about tuberculosis (TB) and how so many young people are affected by it due to not having knowledge about it.

The web series will show the challenges of a young couple, Vicky and Megha and Sania Mirza will be playing the role of a narrator.

Sania Mirza talked about the seriousness of TB and why its awareness is important. She said, “TB continues to be one of the most chronic health issues in our country. With about half of the diagnosed cases under the age of 30, there is an urgent need to tackle fallacies around it and drive a perception change.”

“MTV Nishedh Alone Together conveys that in a unique and impactful way. The youth of today is more aware, sensitive, and conscious about issues that plague our country. TB is a continuing menace, and its impact has only worsened through the pandemic. The fight to curb TB is more difficult now than ever and that’s what prompted me to come on board. As someone who is in a place of influence, I hope my presence helps in some way to collectively fight the societal conventions and bring about a positive change,” Sania Mirza added.

The web series will have five episodes and it will be available at the end of November on social media platforms of MTV India.

Indian tennis star and Shoaib Malik’s wife Sania Mirza has urged Indian Sports Ministry to help her in her son’s visa process, she asked for the help after the son Izhan Mirza Malik’s visa was denied.

As per the schedule, Sania Mirza will be playing a few tournaments in UK and she wants the Visa of her son to be accepted.

Sania Mirza said that she can’t leave a two years old son alone. Izhan’s caretaker’s visa has also been rejected. Sania is really worried and urged the ministry to help her in this regard so that she can take Izhan with her.
