Iman Ali,  is a Pakistani actress and veteran model who appears in Urdu films. Yesterday, Models Hasnain Lehri and Nimra Jacob were indulged in a physical fight at the backstage of a fashion show. The fight went extremely viral on social media. Next day, Nimra Jacob issued a detail of the incident which happened to her.

Today, Hasnain Lehri talked to the Express Tribune and shared his side of the story about the viral fight with Nimra Jacob. The model refuses to accept the allegations of physical abuse by model Nimra Jacob. He said that Nimra Jacob started the conflict first. The model says, “I come from a very respectful family, we aren’t the kind of people who would get into an issue as petty as this.” He also claimed that she was the one who bumped into him while walking on the ramp and later came to him and started teaching him to learn to walk on ramp. Hasnain Lehri said that they were indulged into heated arguments which escalated. He further says that the model Nimra Jacob insulted his late father too. Hasnain Lehri also said that there were many others witnesses of the fight, he said that event organizers and a choreographer also told him about Nimra Jacob’s history of unprofessional behavior.

He further said that it all happened when he was packing up the things after the show. He further said that Nimra Jacob again started the argument while the show was ending.

Fans are saying there they need to hear both the sides. A few people called out Nimra Jacob while others called out Hasnain Lehri too. Halima Aden, the Somali-American model who shot to fame as the first woman competitor in the Miss Minnesota USA Pageant to wear a hijab and a burkini, is calling it quits on a fashion fraternity that is making her compromise on her beliefs.

The 23-year-old posted a series of Instagram stories detailing the inner turmoil that came with her line of work while balancing her identity as a practicing Muslim woman.

“I can only blame myself for caring more about opportunity than what was actually at stake,” Halima wrote.

She shared a shot of herself from the campaign she did for Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty, in which she’s donning her black hijab, writing: “(Rihanna) let me wear the hijab I brought to set. This is the girl I’m returning to, the real Halima”. Last year in an interview Halima mentioned that “Fellow Muslim sisters would send me DMs and even publicly tag me at the start of my career to say ‘stop dressing like an old woman’, which made me feel like I was doing something wrong. I remember wanting to be the ‘hot hijabi’ as if that didn’t just defeat the whole purpose”.

Halima concluded that she would only model if her hijab is visible in a way that is deemed appropriate to her. “If my hijab can’t be this visible, I’m not showing up, period. This is the standard moving forward if you want to work with me. Come correct or don’t come at all.”

Popular model Farwa Ali Kazmi who is married to Mir Ali Rehman was expecting her baby this year but life took a turn and she had a miscarriage.

She shared her heart-wrenching story and wrote, “While everyone looks back at this year and shares good memories, I am sharing my story that doesn’t have a happy ending. I went through something called a “missed miscarriage”. People seldom talk about miscarriage because a lot of guilt, shame and pain is attached to it. I feel we need to speak more about the uncomfortable and difficult topics because not talking about it makes it feel worse. Losing a child is monumental and should be mourned for as long as one wants. It’s not mother’s fault nor in her control.”

“I was scrolling through my notes today and came across a love letter that I had written for my baby that was never born and I couldn’t even look at it. It brought back all the painful memories from the day I ended up in labour room.I do not want to go into details of it but it’s unimaginable pain and loss for someone who hasn’t gone through it. What it feels like, to think at one moment that you’ll be bringing a baby home in seven months and the next second you know that you won’t because your embryo doesn’t have a heartbeat. It’s doesn’t end here. The process of terminating the pregnancy is like the worst nightmare. It’s like so much pain without any gain. I’m still dealing with complications after miscarriage that I would like to talk about in detail in another post,” she added.

In the end, Farwa Ali Kazmi shared how we all survived this year and said, “This year hasn’t given us many reasons to celebrate but we have survived despite all the hardships and that’s celebratory. I received love and care during these difficult times, that was unknown to me before. It is because of my family and some of my friends (you know who you are) that I was able to process this trauma and can now talk about it openly. I am so so grateful for you all.”

Images: Why don’t you tell us about yourself? How did you enter this field?

Diya Ali: It was a very sudden thing actually. I just wanted to be an actress, maybe a model, that’s as far as I could dream. But someone from the textile industry saw my pictures on Facebook and messaged me, asking me to visit their office to take part in their campaign’s shoot.

I was really surprised, wondering how this could have happened. I remember visiting with my mother and thinking this is all true! Next day I did their shoot and things just started moving from there.

Images: What was the shoot for?

Diya Ali: It was a lawn campaign. The name was United Silk Clothing. Later on I walked on the runway for them as well.

Images: So modeling was not a dream of yours from the start?

Diya Ali: Not exactly, it wasn’t THE dream when I started. But when I entered the field and saw how it all works, I loved it. I want to work in the fashion world in a better way, maybe take steps towards projects on an international level. I want to be an example for others, those who keep themselves in one specific aspect of the field, I want to show them how we can and should work globally.

Images: Tell us about Miss Pacific 2016. How was your experience?

Diya Ali: The Miss Asia Pacific International 2016 contest was very challenging, having been the first Pakistani woman in Pakistan’s history to be selected as a contestant (and then a finalist!) in the oldest and world-renowned beauty pageant.

It was exciting but tough. I was on my own in a foreign land amidst strangers. I had never traveled abroad before this pageant and I was very nervous initially. I make friends easily so it became easier as the days progressed but the day of the pageant was tough, it took all my training to remain calm, composed, focused and pleased.

Images: Did you learn anything about yourself through such a new experience?

Diya Ali: The lessons I have learnt in this contest which I still remember and apply in life are: you are not better than anyone; you are your best when you remain peaceful and happy, and; that goodness is contagious.

Images: Considering you planned to model and act, what made you think about participating in a beauty pageant?

Diya Ali: Beauty pageants are a big platform for contestants today. They are opportunities to empower women with self-confidence. It can create many more opportunities for a woman to discover one’s own potential.

Images: Who took you to this platform?

Diya Ali: The two people behind my Miss Asia Pacific international 2016 success story are Sohail Rashid, who told me about this event, he is a well known PR rep. And Sonia Ahmed’s company [President of Miss Pakistan World & Mrs. Pakistan World] is also connected with the international project.

Images: So what lies ahead for you? What are your plans for 2017?

Diya Ali: I’m keeping an eye on the Miss World title! I want Pakistan to win Miss World 2017. That’s top priority for me. I really want to spread a positive image of Pakistan. After that I want to work in the Pakistani film industry as an actress. Who knows, I wouldn’t mind being a part of the Hollywood industry in the future.

Images: Do you have any plans of working in films/drama in future?

Diya Ali: I have done many serials for different channels, Mor Mahal, Bay Daro Deewar Ghar, Shehrnaaz, and yes, in Pakistan I want to work in films but it must be on good subjects and with an experienced and qualified team.

Images: How do you perceive the fashion industry in Pakistan?

Diya Ali: Pakistan’s fashion industry has grown a lot in the past few years and it continues to do so. I think it’s actually an important aspect of our economy. Look at all the Pakistani designers participating in international fashion shows. It really helps in painting a positive and healthy impression of Pakistan globally.

Ayyan also asked the court to free her on bail, she promised that she will not free the country if given bail. Ayyan also said that her case was not being dealt with properly. This was the peak of her career and so much time was being wasted in the judicial proceedings without anything conclusive coming out of them. Ayyan said that because of the media hype her case was being dragged for no reason.

Mubashar Lucman openly declared that Ayyan Ali was 5 months pregnant in a tweet few days ago after which the news has been on every social media page and on every channel too. The court extended Ayyan’s judicial remand till July 13th.

Model Ayyan who has recently been in news because of her on going music career was arrested in Islamabad today by custom officials because she had 500,000 Dollars which she was allegedly trying to smuggle to Dubai.

Ayyan has been sent to Adiala jail for 14-day remand. Ayyan was carrying a big amount of cash while boarding Emirates flight for Dubai while getting her luggage checked she did not tell the officials that she had this money because of which she was arrested for money laundering.

Amna Babar and husband, Zahid Noon tied the knot last year. Amna announced her marriage in a simple Instagram post. The couple was then blessed with their daughter on the 10th of December 2019. They named their little bundle of joy Naz Afreen Noon.
