Adnan Shah Tipu is a Pakistani actor known for his comedy and villainy roles. Arnab Goswami is the Editor-in-Chief and the anchor of Indian TV Channel’s current affairs programme “The News Hour”. He is known for spreading hate speech and divisive politics. Arnab Goswami is always at the forefront when it comes to hate speech and initiating any dialogue that is anti-Pakistan. According to recent reports, Goswami and his channel Republic TV recently declared Hamza Ali Abbasi an undercover ISI agent.

In response to Goswami, Abbasi tweeted:

He further added, “I always thought maybe I will not see a free Kashmir in my lifetime but seeing one blunder after another of Modi’s fascist regime and the delusional propaganda their fascist media outlets are spreading, I am now very confident that Insha Allah I will see a free Kashmir very soon.”

Noman Ijaz is the undisputed king of expressions and his versatile acting has won him many fans all around the globe. “The fact is that the viewers who watch the dramas today have been handed over to us by actors like Firdous Jamal.”

So, in other words according to him MD Productions in no way can take away that viewership from Firdous Jamal by putting a ban on him. Another interesting aspect of this discussion was when Noman Ijaz clearly said,

“What Momina Duraid did is actually a big gamble. It can either go in favor of her film and draw the crowds to the cinema or it can completely backfire.”

Noman Ijaz also suggested that ignoring the statement made by Firdous Jamal and not making it an issue would have been a wise thing to do. Noman Ijaz also shared his views about the role of social media generally and he is of the opinion that the Pakistani society, the people, are not ready to use social media in a more constructive manner.

The real shocker was Noman Ijaz’s stance on Mohsin Abbas Haider’s wife reporting the issue of domestic violence and highlighting it on the media. Mohsin Abbas Haider started his television career from Mazak Raat when Noman Ijaz was the host. Therefore, he is someone who has been in constant contact (in a professional capacity) with Mohsin Abbas Haider for quite a while. Noman Ijaz’s statement about ‘taali dono hatho se bajti hei’ suggested that he was saying that both parties were at fault in some way.

He elaborated further and said,

“I am not defending anyone, I am just giving my honest opinion. This thing (domestic violence) only happens when you allow it to happen. If you stop it when it starts then it won’t proceed to the next level. When it happened for the first time, you (Fatima Soheil) should have left him (Mohsin Abbas Haider).”

Noman Ijaz is clearly someone who believes that women should take a stand for themselves and set some boundaries. His point of view however is also being termed as victim blaming by some of the people who watched the show. Due to ongoing tension between Pakistan and India over Kashmir issue, PEMRA has banned all TV ads produced by India. After banning all Indian content, Pakistan banned all TV commercials featuring Indian talent. PEMRA posted an official notice of prohibition of TVCs produced in India.

According to PEMRA’s latest statement,

“In the wake of recent escalation in tension between the two neighbouring countries on Kashmir issue, Government of Pakistan has announced to celebrate Independence Day on August 14, 2019 as ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’, however at the same time, advertisements produces in India carrying Indian actors/characters/talent are being aired on Pakistani media, negating the state policy,” says PEMRA in the latest statement.”

It also included names of multinational brands which are going to get banned on Pakistani TV with immediate effect. It includes: Dettol soap, Sunsilk shampoo, Surf Excel powder etc.

“Moreover, ban on airing of aforementioned advertisements shall remain in field till the time such advertisements are replaced by the advertisements produced in Pakistan, carrying Pakistani actors/characters/talent are duly approved by PEMRA through Pakistan Advertisement Society (PAS).”

All the Indian talent has been banned by PEMRA. The notice issued by PEMRA stated that since Pakistan had decided to celebrate its Independence Day on August 14, 2019 as ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day at the same time advertisements produced in India carrying Indian actors/characters/talent being aired on Pakistani TV screens aggravated the masses.

A rising Pakistani actor Asad Siddiqui recently gave interview to BBC Asian Network. He spoke up about how Pakistani dramas are women oriented and how they portray women in dramas is completely wrong. He wishes to see more dramas which with female antagonist.

Asad Siddiqui talking about toxic masculinity shared his opinion,

“Unfortunately, this thing happens all over the world. Men get really affected by rejection that how can a woman reject me? why not? Everybody has right to say no to you. I personally say, one has to learn how to say NO.”

On asking about why men behave in a certain way, he shared his opinion,

“All these dramas that we do we talk about women empowerment. I am sorry to say, there is no women empowerment because the country where you live in and the culture, it’s really different from what we are trying to show. Har dramay mai ap dekhte hain larki maar khaa rahi hai, uspe zulm horaha hai. But if you want to these kind of women empowerment then there so many other examples. We need more roles like the one Saba Qamar played in Cheekh.”

Upon asking about, how male roles are important in these dramas? He responded:

“Most of the dramas are women oriented and men are usually the antagonists for them. Why do you have to show men so antagonists all the time? Maybe 20% dramas you show where woman is antagonist but no 80% man is antagonist, why? Why this inequality? So, you have to come up with the content which can be relatable in general public. We really need to work on our content becuase Hum dekhate kuch hain, kartay kuch hain, sochte kuch hain aisa nahi hona chahiye.”

The name of the drama Kun faya kun written by Qaisera Hayat, directed by Ilyas Kashmiri & produced by MD Productions has been changed because of its involvement of an Arabic word that was extracted as it is From Quran and it is hurting religious sentiments of people. Imran Abbas, Alizey shah and Zarnish khan are the main leads of the drama . It seems that the  name wasn’t accepted by viewers also PEMRA has its ears and eyes open. Its high time writers should take responsibility while keeping the titles because they are more frequently used and written on news papers and websites, so there should not be any Verse from Holy Quran.

Religious groups are more active since the revolution of media and that is the main reason why actually writers need  to put up words that are extracted from Urdu Dictionary not the verses of Quran.

The drama also has an OST in which the verse is heard as song which seems a bit un pleasing as an audience.
The name of the drama has changed to Tu jo chahey which seems great. It seems that the production house has wisely changed name in right time to avoid any case and charge.

Her passion for acting and her innate skills of acting has helped her in making her place in fashion and television industry. Due to her hard work and excellent acting skills, almost everyone in the industry wants to work with her.  Effendi has done modeling as well and has proven herself as an accomplished actress at such a young age.

She has appeared in many dramas including; Chal Jhooti, Daam-e-Rasai , Man-O-Salwa, Meri Unsuni Kahani, Sandal, Meri Zaat Zara-e-Benishan , Massi Aur Malka and many more. She started her career as a child actress in 2001. She also performed in Kash Mai Teri Beti Na Hoti with Kanwar Arsalan. The role she played was critically acclaimed and she gained much fame and attention through it. She has starred in many telefilms as well.

Fatima Effendi got married to her friend and co-star Kanwar Arsalan on 17 November, 2012. Her husband is also a popular face of TV screen Kanwar Arsalan.  Together they have two cute sons.

Now, after Mehwish spoke about Pakistan on international event in Oslo, Norway, Alot of celebrities and our people praised her. Shaneira Akram praised her she posted that Acting gave her limelight and popularity but  her National award has given her a padestal that she needed, she said its not our achievements that we need but what do we do after that, has a meaning and Mehwish is definitely doing justice to it.

Ayesha Omar, Azfer Rehman, Faryal Mehmood, Qasim Yar Tiwana, Mehreen Syed, Zara Noor Abbas, Amna Ilyas, Nadeem Baig and Nausheen Shah also praised her on her speech and commented there.

Mehwish  clearly said in speech that, “Pakistan was depicted wrong by bollywood and Hollywood as a propaganda campaign where they talked cliched opinions and didn’t get into what people are?, what is the region really famous for?, they only shown us with guns. Come on, the reality is different and now we have decided to make films about Pakistan so you can see the real image of pakistan”. Now people think that she is way better than Mahira and many others who don’t represent Pakistan instead just talk about bring friends with Indian who are hostile towards Pakistan. Most of the people now admits that she rightly deserved the Tamgha e Imtiaz and yes she is proving it.
