Right now there are some really interesting dramas on air on different channels. Most of these dramas wouldn’t have been as engaging as they are if the actors who play the leading and supporting roles were not translating their respective characters so impressively on screen. An actor’s performance can make or mar a character. Even the most well-written characters lose their appeal if they are not portrayed convincingly on screen. Only an actor who understands the character he is playing and puts his performance before everything else can do justice to a character. There are times when even the most simple supporting characters become easy to connect to when they are enacted on screen in the right manner. While playing a negative role, it is also really important for an actor to keep things real and not go overboard. An actor who manages to do that makes the viewers hate their character but the audience cannot help but praise the actor.
Here are some of the best performances by Pakistani actors from current dramas.
Bilal Abbas Khan (Pyar Ke Sadqay)
Bilal Abbas Khan is playing a challenging role in Pyar Ke Sadqay. After playing a negative role in Cheekh, he made a difficult decision of opting for playing the role of Abdullah who is a complete opposite of the character played by Bilal Abbas in Cheekh. It is also a fact that Bilal has translated this character so well on screen that he has managed to convince even those viewers of his acting prowess who were not sure if he could act convincingly. Bilal has made the viewers fall in love with and relate to his character. Even though some of the recent decisions made by Abdullah have been criticized for obvious reasons but his acting has stayed top-notch. Bilal has given some of the most meaningful expressions in the drama. He has brought out different shades of his character superbly on screen.
Hania Aamir (Dil Ruba)
The role Hania Aamir is playing in Dil Ruba is in no way likable yet just like always she has managed to completely nail yet another undesirable character. Even though Hania Aamir is being typecast but she always makes sure that her acting stays true to the character she is playing. Sanam is a selfish, careless, and manipulative young lady who has caused much harm and does not feel guilt at all. Hania does exceptionally well when she has to show the problem-solving side of her character. Even though the drama itself might be nothing more than a guilty pleasure, Hania’s performance definitely makes it worth watching.
Hira Mani (Kashf)
Hira Mani is playing the leading role in drama serial Kashf. Kashf’s character and story are unlike any other we have seen in Pakistani dramas. The entire concept is novel and for the most part, Kashf is the kind of girl who would do anything to please her parents and not be a troublemaker. The layers of this character exit when Kashf’s inner conflict is highlighted through different scenes. Hira Mani has made sure that she makes each one of these conflicts and different shades of Kashf’s personality come alive on screen. There are so many scenes in the drama in which Kashf is fearful of the future and she feels helpless, Hira has translated all these varying emotions flawlessly.
Junaid Khan (Kashf)
Junaid Khan always makes sure that he changes his entire look to suit the needs of the character he is playing. Wajdan’s character is a good example of the positive depiction of men in Pakistani dramas. He is responsible, committed, and extremely likable. The best part about Junaid Khan’s performance is that he looks like a man belonging to the class he is representing in the drama. He has not tried to add any outward charm to his character because the actual charm in Wajdan’s personality lies in his love for Kashf. It is definitely one of his best performances.
Munazzah Arif (Kashf)
Munazzah Arif plays a role which we have probably seen a little too often in dramas, a mother struggling to keep up with her duties and living with guilt yet Dilshad’s role has been translated on the screen so realistically by Munazzah Arif that you actually feel all of her struggles. Munazzah’s look for the role is just flawless as her portrayal. She looks like a woman who has been through a lot. Her character has been written and enacted on screen beautifully. Her performance is so impressive that she completely makes you forget the negative characters she played in Ranjha Ranjha Kardi and Inkaar. Munazzah Arif has shown through her performance that she can pull off any kind of role at all effortlessly.
Mohib Mirza (Dushman-e-Jaan)
After choosing to play roles in Deedan and Dil Ruba which were rather disappointing, Mohib Mirza is back with a bang as Hatim in drama serial Dushman-e-Jaan. Hatim’s character has undergone a lot of changes ever since the drama went on air and Mohib Mirza has once again shown his range as an actor by doing complete justice to all these changes in the character. Hatim went from being an insensitive and proud individual to someone entirely different. Mohib Mirza translated Hatim’s guilt and regret so well on screen that the viewers started seeing things from his character’s perspective. Mohib’s look for this role and his performance has been extraordinary.
Mawra Hocane (Sabaat)
Mawra Hocane is playing Anaya’s character in Sabaat. For the most part, Anaya is a sensible and intelligent young lady with an adventurous and romantic side. The character is well-written and one of the best things about a drama that doesn’t have much going for it. Mawra Hocane has never been seen in such a ‘plain’ look before. Even in drama serial Sammi, she was quite conscious of her styling and make-up. In Sabaat however, she has made sure that she looks as simple and traditional as Anaya should have looked. Mawra’s performance has been convincing and realistic throughout. She also has great on-screen chemistry with all her co-actors in the drama.
Nausheen Shah (Bikhray Moti)
Nausheen Shah is an exceptional actress who has recently been seen playing a rather short-lived role in drama serial Bikhray Moti. Even though her character existed early on in the drama yet it will continue to play a crucial role in the drama. Nausheen Shah performed so well that her scenes made the viewers cry. Faiza was shown as a woman who was a victim of domestic abuse, someone who tried her best to raise her children the best she could in the most unfavorable circumstances and even after she died she proved to be someone who wanted to keep her self-respect intact after death since she could not live the kind of dignified life she would have wanted to. Nausheen Shah performed so well that her character will stay in the viewers’ minds while they watch this drama in the future too.
Neelam Muneer (Bikhray Moti)
It is always good to watch an actor experimenting with different roles and it is even better watching the female actors opting to play roles that are not run-of-the-mill. Neelam Munir is playing one such character in drama serial Bikhray Moti which attempts to raise awareness about different social issues. Ayza’s character is that of a strong girl who is sensitive and caring. Her journey has just started but so far whatever we have seen suggests that she will turn out to the kind of female characters we rarely get to see in dramas. Neelam Muneer completely owns this role. She has carried it forward with the confidence that was needed to make it impactful.
Omair Rana (Pyar Ke Sadqay)
Omair Rana is a phenomenal actor who makes sure that he makes every character he plays come alive on screen. He is playing a negative role in Pyar Ke Sadqay. There is nothing remotely likable about Sarwar but Omair Rana’s performance is exceptional throughout. Sarwar is a completely different person around his wife, he shows his true colors when he is with his mother and Abdullah, with Mahjabeen he interacts on a completely different and undesirable manner. The way he has styled his character also makes it easy to understand why Mansoora fell for him. This is another one of Omair Rana’s best performances.
Samina Ahmed (Kashf and Bikhray Moti)
Samina Ahmed is another exceptional actress who has played so many different kinds of roles in her vast career. Right now in Kashf and Bikhray Moti she is playing negative characters but her performances are so on point that her character is almost always engaging. Although these two characters are somewhat similar, greedy and selfish, yet Samina Ahmed’s outlook and antics in both the dramas are completely different. Samina Ahmed’s performance shows that she can stand out in a negative character just as much as she can in a more meaningful and fun character as she played in Suno Chanda and Aangan.
Seemi Raheel (Sabaat)
Seemi Raheel is extremely adorable as Bushra in Sabaat. She is the kind of mother we see rarely in Pakistani dramas, she gives advice, complaints at times but at the end of the day her daughter’s happiness for her comes before everything else. It is one of the sweetest characters Seemi Raheel has played and she is extremely convincing as the mother who is constantly worrying about her daughter but never lets it show. She makes sure that Bushra’s caring side is always highlighted more than any other.
Srha Asghar (Pyar Ke Sadqay)
Srha Asghar’s role in Pyar Ke Sadqay is being loved by many because Washma is the perfect mix of different personality traits. She has her own underlying issues because of the kind of father she had and her step-father. She is an independent and wise girl who is not afraid of speaking her mind. Washma is the only one who can see through Sarwar and she was the first one to accept and lend support to Mahjabeen. Not only this, but she is also always there to give Abdullah much-needed advice and reality checks. Srha Asghar has portrayed her character faultlessly on screen. Most of the viewers would love to see more of her in the drama.
Syed Muhammad Ahmed (Sabaat)
Syed Muhammad Ahmed adds the kind of emotions in every scene he is a part of which very few actors can. He can be the best aba on-screen also the best friend as he was in Mere Pass Tum Ho. In Sabaat he plays the role of Aziz; a dotting father, an admirable husband, and most of all a wonderful human being. Syed Muhammad Ahmed is lovable in the role, he brings out the best in his character whether it is as a husband or a father.
Tooba Siddiqui (Dushman-e-Jaan)
Tooba Siddiqui is rarely seen on television, her role in Dushman-e-Jaan also made a tragic exit a few weeks after the drama aired. She played Ramsha’s character, a strong-willed, independent, caring, and focused woman. She made sure that her character was translated just as powerfully on screen as it deserved to be. Tooba’s body language and expressions were the best part of her portrayal. It was definitely sad watching her character exit from the drama so soon but her portrayal will always be remembered as one of the best.
Waseem Abbas (Kashf)
Waseem Abbas is a seasoned actor who has done everything from comedy to tragedy. He is playing the role of a greedy and selfish head of the family in drama serial Kashf. His character is an important one since it drives the story forward in more ways than one. Waseem Abbas owns his character completely, his performance in this drama leaves you in awe of his brilliance as an actor. He makes his character just as hateful and obnoxious as it was meant to be shown.
Yumna Zaidi (Pyar Ke Sadqay)
Yumna Zaidi’s versatility has always impressed the viewers but this time around she chose to play a role which is completely different from any other role she has played to date. Mahjabeen from Pyar Ke Sadqay is utterly innocent and admirable. Yumna Zaidi makes the viewers laugh and cry with her almost effortlessly. The way she has translated Mahjabeen’s cuteness on-screen is simply the best part of the entire drama.
What do you think about these performances? Do add more names to the list.
Ohkay so, the progress & development in the story of Kashf has definitely slowed down, but while watching this episode, I was really glad that Danish Nawaz decided to bring in some fun & comic elements to the entire scenario. Dramas and stories like these get grim very easily & bearing in mind that things have to be taken slow, it is always a good idea to rely on some light-hearted moments. I thoroughly enjoyed watching tonight’s episode of Kashf because of Wajdan & to some extent Imtiyaz too.
Family Dynamics
The main focus was purely on how Kashf has started doing well in terms of earning money. Imtiyaz was pretty satisfied with the way Kashf was approaching the new family business set up by him & for the first time, I could actually see the eagerness in Dilshad & Ashi’s body language too. I feel for them, although they are not exploiting Kashf at all but because they both have faced such tough circumstances, some kind of financial relief is obviously something which no one actually minds. This is exactly why Dilshad & Ashi were not getting too involved in how Imtiyaz was approaching everything because they can actually see the results.
So far, Irum is the one who is not too convinced & does not approve of her father’s selfishness but sooner or later, she too will get used to some of the comforts & reliefs Kashf will be bringing to her family. However, I wonder why Ashi has not tried working as a teacher in some other school? She was asked to resign because Matiullah created a scene there & Ashi is obviously not someone who’d be frightened because of one such incident. Not sure what her reasons are because she’s not someone who’d waste her time not doing anything.
The comedy factor in this episode of Kashf was right up my alley, I actually found myself laughing out loud when I saw Wajdan running to his room & Shumaila chasing after him thinking it was a stranger. Although as the episode progressed, I wasn’t too sure what to feel about Wajdan’s presence in Kashf’s asthana that too as a mulazima but I am glad that by the end of this episode, he got exposed & this entire scenario will not be dragged further. I will however say that for as long as it lasted, I thoroughly enjoyed it because not only Wajdan was being funny, Ashi & Dilshad too couldn’t resist sharing a laugh or two at how he was fooling Imtiyaz. Honestly speaking, I am really liking Wajdan’s character because that there’s so much more to him – he has a character, a personality & quite a few shades where he is kind, caring, persistent & very much convinced that he can win Kashf over.
Kashf understands that her family, especially her father, needs her the most. Also, seeing her fate in dreams has convinced her to give up on the idea of getting married because she knows it is most likely to happen considering how Imtiyaz has made up his mind & pretty much has called her engagement off. Kashf wants to get over this with this once & for all, this is why she eventually had to tell Wajdan to marry someone else. She even spoke to Shumaila about it, which shows that she has started hinting about it, hoping that it will prevent Wajdan from wasting his time on chasing after his dream of marrying Kashf & will probably move on.
It was something new that Kashf can actually see people in her dreams whom she has never met before. The girl who had to give up on her bangles was one such person but it was good that she got to hear what she wanted to. This goes to show that Kashf is still very much sincere to the people she is meeting & is trying her best to not misguide them due to her shortcomings. The way Kashf consistently & repeatedly asks for guidance from Allah has to be my favorite aspect of her journey because she is fearful knowing there’s a thin line that should never be crossed. I really want to see when she will stop being selfless & I wish there comes a time when she actually takes a stand for something that she wants for herself.
Daadi & Imtiyaz scene was humorous too where they were trying to whisper so that they don’t disturb Kashf. I also enjoyed the conversation Shumaila & Kashf had. Ashi & Wajdan’s scene was cute too. It was obvious that they shot the events covering before & after Shumaila’s engagement the same day because the clothes of Shumaila, Kashf & even Zoya were the same, which were meant to look like two different days. Although it wasn’t a flaw but something that I noticed while watching those scenes.
Anyhow, Kashf probably also saw a dream which made her realize the consequences her words could have, this is why she was scared that Wajdan might end up harming himself. Another very important conversation which I liked was when Wajdan gave his reasoning for not getting married to anyone else – how often do we get to hear a male character admitting to being unfair if he chooses to marry someone he doesn’t love? Although going by Zoya’s behavior as well as Kashf’s dreams, it is obvious that Wajdan will eventually get married to Zoya but at this moment, his honesty was what I liked the most. It is good to see such characters who know when & where they can go wrong. Wajdan knows he will not be able to love anyone else apart from Kashf, so he spoke the truth.
Fun Episode
This episode of Kashf was really nice. I enjoyed watching it thoroughly because the change in behavior & attitude of all the characters was very interesting to read. Wajdan being asthanay ki mulazima was humorous, especially when it was happening right under Imtiyaz’s nose with him being oblivious. This for me has to be probably the most convincing performance of Junaid Khan. The way he has portrayed this character shows that he himself enjoyed playing this role, which helped him in giving it a realistic feel. The fluctuating behavioral patterns of Imtiyaz was actually quite funny too. Although Danish Nawaz has directed this drama with a vision & each episode has been perfect but this one especially had his name written all over it, with the comic timing of all the characters being spot on. The precap seems promising & I can’t wait for it already. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Kashf.
Momina Mustehsan is not only beautiful she has a wonderful voice. We were first mesmerized by her vocals when we listened to her in Afreen alongside Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
A single song for Momina in Coke Studio and there was absolutely no looking back for her. Momina and her voice began weaving magic song after song in Pakistan.
Recently a small clip of Momina singing Afreen unplugged and as a surprise has us in awe of her singing talent. The songstress is as melodious as a nightingale.
Not only in Pakistan, Momina has fans of her voice across the border as well. Even before she was discovered in Pakistan, Momina sang Awari which was used in the Bollywood film Ek Villian. Her voice was appreciated for its texture and quality.
Zebaish was one of the most anticipated dramas of the season. The drama is written by Bushra Ansari and directed by Iqbal Hussain. Drama features Bushra Ansari, Iqbal Hussain, Asma Abbas, Zara Noor Abbas, Asad Sidiqui, Shabbir Jan and Babar Ali in prominent roles.
Everyone was waiting for the star studded drama to start and the trailers gave boost to fan’s excitement as well. But to everyone’s disappointment the drama didn’t come upto the expectations of viewers and failed to impress most of the people.
Till now 2 episodes have been aired and in two episodes we have seen two funerals
A completely unnecessary slap.
Bushra Ansari being an extra ordinary beautiful aging actress with an unhappy husband.
Zara Noor Abbas being the Ladli daughter of a courtesan (Asma Abbas) and a Peerzada.
People are not much happy with the overall performance of the actors in drama and do believe that whether its Bushat Ansari, Zara Noor Abbas or anyone else, everyone’s acting is OTT.
Bushra Ansari’s overall look in the character is much too booming.
Whereas Zara is doing nothing different than what she did in two of her movies and in drama serial Ehd-E-Wafa.
Here we have gathers a few comments depicting the opinion of people towards drama serial Zebaish:
Crying is one of the most prominent factor that makes an actress hit or flop.
In Pakistan those actress who can cry well are considered to be successful and full of talent most of the times. There has been a lot of instances when we have seen dramas in which the mere role of a heroine in drama is to cry her heart out.
So Shahveer Jafry who is a famous YouTuber in his latest Vlog asked Saba Qamar to cry.
And to everyone’s surprise with in seconds Saba Qamar was in tears.

Momal Sheikh is a part of the entertainment industry who has worked in drama serials including; Yeh Zindagi Hai and Mirat Ul Uroos.
In 2016, she also made her debut in Bollywood film Happy Bhag Jayegi.
The movie features Diana Penty, Abhay Deol, Jimmy Sheirgill, Ali Fazal and Momal Sheikh.
The story is about a free-spirited bride to be who is from Amritsar and she runs away from her wedding and arrives in Lahore, Pakistan.
The Indian romantic comedy film Happy Bhag Jayegi was a cross-border film which was shot in Chandigarh and Amritsar.
Momal Sheikh got this role without any source or link. The director of the film was in search of a Pakistani actress and he watched Momal’s work and got impressed. That’s how she got this role.
The film’s cast appeared in The Kapil Sharma Show and Momal Sheikh who was part of the film made her appearance on the show.
Momal Sheikh’s video clip from Kapil Show is going viral on the internet in which she is talking about her character in the movie.
She played the role of Zoya who will decide the boy for the marriage at the end of the movie.

The supporting characters in dramas play an important role in keeping the viewers engaged. If the leading characters do not have a real relationship with these supporting characters than the entire drama loses its appeal. The parents of the leading characters in Pakistani dramas play a pivotal role. Sometimes these parents are the ones driving the story forward in some of or the other. Their choices and personalities reflect upon that of their children. It is so important that these relationships and characters should be shown on screen in such a way that their scenes make the viewers feel whatever they are going through.
Dramas at the end of the day are a depiction of reality and in real life, parents play an important role in the lives of the children. Those dramas in which this relationship between the parents and children is well-established are always the ones people look forward to the most. We get to watch all kinds of parents in Pakistani dramas, those who are a bad influence, others who just look the other way, some who disappear when the need arises, and then there are those who are the reflection of what parenthood is all about. It won’t be wrong to say that these characters also give inspiration to other parents.
Here is the list of some of the best parents in recent Pakistani dramas.
Anaya’s Parents In Sabaat
Anaya’s parents in Sabaat are open-minded, friendly, and extremely loving. They trust their daughter and make sure that they are always there by her side. Even when some of the decisions which Anaya took hurt her parents, they did not ridicule her or hold her responsible like we see in other dramas. When Hasan’s father insults Anaya’s parents, the entire situation was shown beautifully. The parents realized that this was not Anaya’s fault and instead of creating a situation that would have been run-of-the-mill, they decided to celebrate Anaya’s success instead. They are shown looking out for their daughter and wanting the best for her instead of satisfying their own egos.
The most important thing which makes them the best is that they trust Anaya. When she decided eventually that she wanted to get married to Hasan, even with all their fears, they supported her while making sure that she was well aware of the problems she was putting herself in. Anaya’s scenes with her parents have been written down and presented on screen so wonderfully that viewers actually look forward to them.
Apart from the relationship they have with their daughter, their relationship with each other is also special. They are shown supporting each other just as much as they support their daughter. It is such a refreshing change to watch such a family in a drama that is so balanced and friendly. Syed Muhammad Ahmed, Seemi Raheel, and Mawra Hocane’s performances obviously add to the beauty of this relationship.
Saad’s Parents In Ehd-e-Wafa
Saad’s parents in Ehd-e-Wafa were definitely a one-of-a-kind as well. Unlike Anaya, Saad wasn’t always the ‘perfect’ son therefore the viewers got to watch many ups and downs in his relationship with his father especially. In the beginning few episodes, his father appeared to be more strict. Gradually as the story progresses, the viewers realized why he was rather distant and expected more from his son. It was eventually this pressure from his father to do well which enabled Saad to achieve the best. Saad’s father was also the best role model, a man who believed in hard work. Once his son achieved the position he always expected him to, he lifted up his spirits. It was such a good way of showing that sometimes parents need to be tough with their children in order to bring out the best in them.
The scenes in which Saad and his father were seen bonding were some of the most heart-warming scenes from the drama. A father-son relationship has never been this endearing and emotional as this one. Saad’s mother was another exemplary female character we saw in dramas recently. She was a wise mother who shared a special bond with her son. While Saad’s relationship with his father was somewhat formal, his relationship with his mother was more friendly.
This mother-son relationship emphasized the importance of being good friends with your children. There were so many times when Saad turned to his mother for advice and she showed him the way in the most polite and non-judgmental way. She was always understanding and open-minded. Both these parents were the perfect example of how important it is to respect your children but at the same time guide them in the right direction when necessary. Saad’s parents played a major role in shaping up his personality and decisions yet they never came across as one of those parents who hamper the growth of their children. In fact, they helped him in so many ways and without them, Saad wouldn’t have a strong personality and the successful career he had. Faraz Inam, Vaneeza Ahmed, and Ahad Raza Mir’s on-screen chemistry and impeccable performances definitely added more value to their scenes.
Dua’s Parents In Ehd-e-Wafa
Dua was another central character in Ehd-e-Wafa played by Alizeh Shah. Although Dua and her parents’ actual track got more screen time a little later in the drama once it took off, it turned out to be the most refreshing and positive aspect of the drama. Dua’s relationship with her parents was even more inspiring because she was their adoptive daughter. Dua’s father passed away but their last few scenes together highlighted how much faith her father had in her. Dua’s father stood by her when she decided to tell her Taya off for asking for holding Dua accountable for being seen with someone. The resulting conversation between Dua and her father was meaningful and emotional. This conversation was enough to explain the reason behind Dua’s confident personality.
Dua’s relationship with her mother grew stronger after her father passed away. When her mother informed her that she was adopted, Dua’s response made for one of the most emotional scenes in the play. Her mother also decided to live independently in order to break free from the pressures they were both facing. She took a bold decision not just for herself but also for her daughter. Dua’s parents were wise, strong, and had foresight which helped them make some of the best decisions. This was an excellent way of showing the viewers how daughters should be raised. It is so important to give your child the space to grow as an individual and guide them in the right direction.
Hajra’s Father In Inkaar
Inkaar was a powerful drama, the story of which was inspired by a real-life story. The drama overall had its ups and downs but one thing which remained constant was the beautiful manner in which Hajra’s relationship with her father was shown. Hajra’s character went through so many difficult situations yet even with all his fears her father stood right by her side like a rock till the very end.
The writer had written their track so well that the relationship they shared continued to be the most poignant aspect of every episode. Hajra’s father’s kind and open-minded approach was highlight right from the beginning. Besides that their friendship was also the best part of their track. Rehan Sheikh did tremendously well portraying this character on screen. He brought out the warmth and vulnerabilities of his character impeccably on screen.
Right till the end, Hajra’s father’s main focus was the happiness and well-being of his daughter. He forgave her for her mistakes and unlike many other fathers we see in dramas he did not give in to the societal pressure. It was definitely the kind of character we need to see on screen more often since it went to show just how strong a girl can be if her father has unconditional faith in her. Yumna Zaidi and Rehan Sheikh’s undeniable on-screen chemistry made this father-daughter duo even more lovable.
Nimra’s Father In Baba Jani
As the title of the drama suggests, Baba Jani was mostly about the responsibility of being a father and balancing other relationships along the way. Nimra played by Madiha Imam was the step-daughter of Asfand, Baba Jani played by Faysal Qureshi. Baba Jani’s character was one of the most positive male characters in general and fatherly figures in Pakistani dramas which we have seen recently. Nimra’s father always treated her like his own daughter, put her feelings before everything else without giving what anyone else thought any consideration.
It was Madiha Imam and Faysal Qureshi’s magical on-screen chemistry that made their relationship come alive on the screen even more convincingly. Asfand’s wisdom, the sense of responsibility and the way he sheltered his step-daughter till the end made him one of the best fathers. He was different from most of the parents on this list since his daughter wasn’t in his life from birth. Even though their bond was formed later on but it became one of the most memorable ones. There were so many times when Nimra tested his patience but he never let anything she did or say distract him from the promise he made to Nimra’s mother and most importantly himself.
It wasn’t just this promise which made him protect Nimra as his own daughter but it was also the love he felt for her since he truly accepted her as his own daughter. Faysal Qureshi added grace and finesse to his character.

Entertainment industries around the world are famous for giving jobs to those who have some connections. Nepotism is in the field of showbiz whether its Lollywood or Bollywood.

Tonight’s episode of Sabaat had much-needed character development but it lacked flow altogether. Usman Mukhar’s entry was quite plain, his character didn’t have the same appeal as the one he played in Anaa. It seems like Dr. Haris will be a somewhat simple character. The change in scenery was refreshing, Hasan and Anaya finally got to spend some time together without the tensions in the house. The worst part of this episode was the direction, even those scenes which should have been impactful, lacked impact altogether. The transition from one scene to the other one at times was confusing, to say the least. The camerawork also left a lot to be desired, the close-ups of trees and coffee mugs interrupted the flow of these scenes. Some of the scenes were also written and acted-out in the most disappointing manner. Some of Hasan/Anaya scenes were cute but Anaya’s parents just like every other episode stole the show altogether.
The ‘Honeymoon’
No one really discussed the fact that Miraal set Hasan’s room on fire and how serious the situation was. Even Miraal’s parents’ conversation revolved around something entirely different. Right now Hasan seems like the wisest character since he was the only one who mentioned that going on a honeymoon was not going to solve their problems. Miraal’s father at times is really difficult to understand, her mother’s dialogues tonight also suggested that he was just that! The actor playing the role has been performing really well but his character keeps me guessing just like some of the other characters. Also, there are so many things which we hear about from characters but don’t actually get to watch them on-screen which also makes a lot of difference.
Hasan and Anaya’s honeymoon started off well, the beautiful locations and their happy faces suggested that we would get to see some great on-screen chemistry and romance. The scenes that followed however were not all impressive. Some of these conversations and scenes were not the least bit romantic. Mawra Hocane definitely performed much more convincingly in these scenes as compared to Ameer Gilani. In some of the scenes, Ameer Gilani seemed rather distant and his expressions were also confusing. The biggest issue with these scenes was how the disappointing cinematography and editing. The editing was extremely choppy which basically affected the overall impact of these scenes. The locations were beautiful and it was good to see Hasan and Anaya bonding but this could have been covered in a much better way.
Miraal Decides To Get Help
Finally, Miraal decided to get help but just like every other big development in this drama, this one too was covered in the least impactful way possible! Miraal’s confusion and fears were translated convincingly on screen in the past few weeks but the final realization just wasn’t compelling enough. Although it was good to see her affectionate side when she hugged her mother, the background score made no sense!! Miraal’s deceased naani was already haunting her therefore she was probably scared of losing her mother as well therefore she turned to her friend for help. As far as I know she should have gone to a clinical psychologist first but as it turns out Dr. Haris, the man most of us had been waiting for, is a psychiatrist. Although I had been waiting for Usman Mukhtar’s entry in the play, I must say that I wasn’t too impressed with the interactions between Miraal and her doctor. His pants which matched with the sofa made me laugh! Was it planned or a coincidence? Dr. Harris’ evaluation of Miraal’s state of mind was interesting but the preview of the next episode suggested that he will fall for her! I hope that doesn’t happen this soon.
The dialogues and situations covering the slight change in Miraal were too plain. After this episode, I have little hope that this drama will actually shed some light on Miraal’s mental health or bad parenting. Miraal’s father has played a major role in making her the monster that she is, I hope that the writer sheds some light on that at some point. Although I feel for Miraal’s mother and the fact that she is trying her best to avoid conflict makes her likable but Laila Zuberi’s performance has not been too impressive.
Anaya’s Parents
I am glad that Anaya’s parents got enough screen time tonight and they have not been relegated to the background. The empty nest syndrome was reflected convincingly through these scenes. It was especially refreshing watching a couple of their age trying to support each other. Going to the cinema scene was just too cute! Seemi Raheel and Syed Muhammad Ahmed are extremely adorable in this role. It is good to see two different kinds of parents in this drama. It also goes to show how important it is for the parents to raise their children as a ‘team’.
Final Remarks
This episode had some important developments but it wasn’t impactful enough. The preview of the next episode suggested that Hasan’s father might not like the idea that Anaya should work in his office. He will also continue to spoil Miraal further! The most disappointing part of this preview was Dr. Harris’ scene, I really hope he does not fall in love with Miraal just like that! I really think that this drama needs to pick up pace, some of the conversations truly test your patience!
Did you watch tonight’s episode of Sabaat? Do share your views about it.
We honestly and totally believe that a father’s sacrifices to bring up his children often go unnoticed. Yes, a mother is 24/7 watching her children but this doesn’t mean a dad does anything less to make his children happy or provide for them.

Iffat asked Mansha: “In your relationship what is that thing, which makes you perfect for each other?”
“I think forgiveness makes people prefect for each other. I am not saying it in romantic sense, I am saying it in general that if you two forgive each other then you two are perfect for each other. Because a person makes a lot of mistakes, if my mother might not have forgiven me I wouldn’t have been a perfect daughter, I am not saying to forgive oppression.”

Nida and Yasir explained that dieting causes a lot of weaknesses in the body and in order for the immune system to be strong, it requires a balanced and well rounded diet. Nida and Yasir have lost a lot of weight over the last couple of years, therefore they spoke about how they had skipped rice and wheat out of their diet. They were consuming bare minimum to maintain their weight, which made their immunity system weak and prone to contract the virus.
Listen to Surah Rehman & Work on Spiritual Connection
Yasir Nawaz shared that he had downloaded Surah Rehman in his mobile phone and he made sure to disconnect from the entire world and listen to it regularly in complete seclusion. He said that he could feel it working on his mind and body. Avoid Disturbing Content
Mental peace also plays a major role in strengthening and weakening the immunity system. Yasir Nawaz keenly emphasized on the fact that while observing self-isolation one should avoid watching such content or news that spreads depression and sadness. He continued to say that usually fear mongering causes distress which is the last thing a person fighting coronavirus should come across.

The reason being that while fighting corona, the body is already under stress and doing so much, therefore during these times, it is better to just relax and go into hibernation and not put the body through so much strain. Usually exercise causes the immunity to get stronger but this was in the case when one gets infected.
Consume Protein and Seasonal Fruits
Nida Yasir continued to emphasize that diet and proper food intake was the key factor in fighting coronavirus. After contracting the virus, Nida realized how important it was to have a good and balanced healthy diet because food plays a major role in aiding the body to function properly. Nida and Yasir consumed a lot of proteins, eggs, lentil soups, meat and all these items that were rich in protein. Seasonal fruits such as mangoes also became a part of their diet because they were rich in vitamins and contained a lot of fiber.
Avoid Icy Cold Drinks

However during the time when she was in self-isolation, fighting the virus, she only consumed a lot of hot beverages and did not do anything that would worsen her condition.
Vitamins and Zinc Are Important
They used to make sure to take Vitamin C and D tablets, along with zinc to help the immunity system to get stronger. Nida and Yasir shared that as much as eating the right kind of food was important, there was no denying to the fact that medicines were necessary to be taken and were an important part of their daily routine.
