Hocane sisters are famous for their work in industry and they have pretty good following on their social media accounts but recently, the Hocane sisters appeared on a morning show to launch their clothing brand, things were going pretty well until the host started talking about mental health and depression. Urwa and Mawra made ignorant statements about mental health.

Mawra defended her statement through her Instagram by posting a Google screenshot which says: “If you eat lots of processed meat, fried food, refined cereals, candies, pastries, and high fats products, you are more likely to be anxious and depressed.”

Farah Sadia, the anchor of the show seemed angry and sad over them refusing at the very last momemt. The paray hat love team didn’t even bother to inform the management of the team on which Farah had to randomly call guests and invite to safeguard her show time. It was really an unprofessional behavior of the actors that we didn’t expect from them because this is regarded as being un professional and embarrassing. Firdous Jamal has been under the radar for stating his opinion and passing remarks on Mahira Khan lately. Firdous Jamal’s words did not sit well with Mahira Khan’s fans and supporters. Faysal Qureshi at that point did not say anything only due to his respect for Firdous Jamal but now he decided to share his perspective. Faysal Qureshi appeared in BOL Nights with Ahsan Khan and that is where he stated what he did not like about Firdous Jamal’s statement.
According to Faysal Qureshi, he did not like anything that Firdous Jamal said but because he was a guest on his show, he could not say anything to him to make him stop. Faysal Qureshi said that Firdous Jamal should not have commented on Mahira Khan’s age because that was wrong on so many levels. Balma Bhagora has garnered 400K plus views on Youtube ever since its release 3 days ago. Balma Bhagora did get the attention that the team of Paray Hut Love was looking for but people are underwhelmed with everything that they got to see. The editing and special effects of the video are also being heavily criticised. Maya Ali happens to be the main dancer of the song but surprisingly, Zara Noor Abbas is getting all the love and not Maya Ali. Maya Ali has worn a revealing dress; a skimpy backless blouse and a lehanga with a slit, which is paired with long boots? Maya Ali has put in a lot of effort but she still hasn’t been able to wow the viewers because it is obvious that the entire focus was on her looks and dressing but not on the dance. Maya Ali has gone for grungy makeup look with wavy hair and the entire look is making her look like a hot mess. The song which is promoted as a dance number has so much going for it but the dance and choreography itself is the least impressive. A thing known as synchronization was unknown to all the dancers of this song and it is not an appeasing visual. Balma Bhagora seems like a cheap copy of any Bollywood song. Maya Ali clearly lacks that screen-presence, zest and energy.
Shehryar Munawwar is trying to brag his swag but it is still unclear what he is trying to do. Ahmad Ali Butt and Zara Noor Abbas happen to be the saving grace of this song because their screen presence, expressions and energy is on-point. Rachel Viccaji along with other members of the cast are also briefly seen in the video and the impact they have made is just like their screen-time – brief.
Maya Ali must not have thought that the song that she is going to be the face of, will get Zara Noor Abbas more love and appreciation for it. Viewers of the song can not stop comparing the two and unanimously, people are more pleased with the fact that Zara Noor Abbas is decently dressed and looks far more graceful than Maya Ali. These two episodes also covered more of the rishtas and family dynamics. Nain’s character and the way Zahid Ahmed has translated it on screen continues to be the only likable aspect of this drama. Nain took the lead throughout and once again proved that his physical disability was no match for his mental strength. He does not lose his grip over things and even when he is not in control he knows how to turn things around some way or the other. Saira’s character has been written well, it isn’t entirely clichéd but Sanam Jung’s dialogue delivery adds extra bechargi which is not needed at times. Sanam Jung has failed to highlight the strengths in her character. All this talk about rishtas for four weeks now has been monotonous but I am definitely more interested in the Nain/Saira track particularly because of Nain and Zahid Ahmed. Neehat on the other hand is a weaker character, which is why we didn’t see him pursuing his case the way Nain did.
Nain and Saira
Although Nain is receptive and intelligent but even then he failed to understand that Saira does not like him the way he does. This entire development however was shown quite convincingly. Saira has always been going to him with her problems, he has been in love with her for the longest time and now that he sensed Saira’s sadness, he thought that getting married to her and being her companion would be the best ‘solution’ to all her worries. Saira’s discussion with him about feeling worthless ended up making him think that she needed rescuing.
Nain is also very sure that he is quite capable of making Saira happy and obviously has no idea that Saira loves someone else. The only aspect of this entire development which wasn’t the least bit convincing was that Nain’s mother was never told that Neehat liked Saira and wanted to marry her. Saira on the other hand felt offended by the proposal and she felt that she lost the one friend she had. I also liked the way she told her father what she wanted and expected from him and everyone else. It is definitely good to see Saira voicing her true concerns every now and then but like I said, Sanam Jung has underplayed this character to the extreme. Even when Saira is shown taking a stand for herself and her mother she sounds extremely scared, this character should have been portrayed on screen with more confidence.
Neehat and Saira
Saira was eventually pressurized into saying that she did not like Neehat and was not interested in getting married to him. Neehat was shown trying to persuade his mother to let him meet Saira whereas Nain did so with a lot more confidence without thinking twice. I am thinking now that Affan Waheed’s look goes well with his character since he has been shown as an immature man who is hopelessly in love but is quite helpless.
Final Remarks & Preview
Nain has my undivided attention and I am hoping that Saira will not be turned into a bigger bechari. The character itself has potential and I do feel that Nain can prove to be a good husband if Saira gives him a chance. The dialogues covering the character assassination of Saira’s mother are just plain annoying and extremely repetitive. But I guess this impression will ultimately determine Saira’s destiny. The preview of the next episode showed Saira’s daadi catching her ‘red-handed’ and that would probably be the reason why she will be forced to marry Nain. I am waiting to hear Saira’s reply and wondering if Nain will figure out that Saira does not want to marry him. Zahid Ahmed is the star of the show and he makes this show worth watching otherwise everything else about this play is pretty average.

Recently, the mommy to be was seen celebrating baby shower of her coming child. She seemed super happy in pictures but who thought those pictures were leaked by her own people. Even her own sister Minal Khan posted a boomerang in her Instagram story, three hours ago.
Aiman khan bashes the media for spreading her pictures without her consent. She said in her Instagram story that it was a highly private function between my friends and family and I thank you all for invading my privacy. She further said that it was a good day for me that ended with a bad mood. She has been blatantly savage on invading her privacy which we can understand is a bad thing that happened.
She spoke about how she is badly hurt by this act and said,

Saba Qamar debuted in a Bollywood movie “Hindi Medium”, starring opposite Irrfan Khan. It was released in May, 2017. The Indian media dug deeper into Saba Qamar’s career and past and that is when they found out the clip from Saba Qamar’s interview and they made a huge issue out of it. Saba Qamar was also confronted and questioned about her opinions but she brushed it off jokingly by giving an example of Koffee With Karan, saying what is not stated in that show, similarly what she said was all in good humor and fun. Saba Qamar also took her words back and said Salman Khan is a superstar and he is very humble, why would she say anything like that about him?

In 2014, pictures of Saba Qamar and Hamza Ali Abbasi went viral on the internet and people started speculating whether they were in a relationship or not. Those pictures suggested the obvious because both Saba and Hamza seemed a bit too comfortable with each other. Saba Qamar also posted ‘I love you” on one of Hamza Ali Abbasi’s pictures but later deleted it. When Saba appeared in Tonite with HSY, she refuted all the rumours. Saba said that it was a prank played by Hamza who used her mobile phone and commented that on his own picture using her account. That’s all that Saba Qamar had to say about this controversy. She said they were just good friends but later they both drifted apart.
Saba Qamar Zaman Called Hamza Ali Abbasi “Mardon Ki Meera”
In 2014, Saba and Hamza’s equation turned sour when Hamza Ali Abbasi took it to the internet and openly spoke against item songs and item girls in Pakistani films. At that time, Saba Qamar had done an item number for the movie Mastani herself and she took offence to Hamza Ali Abbasi’s statement. In a Facebook post, Saba Qamar just mentioned Mardon Ki Meera and further elaborated her point of view in the comment section. That was the final nail in the coffin that both Hamza Ali Abbasi and Saba Qamar will not be friends anymore.
Saba Qamar Zaman Took A Dig At Mahira Khan’s Rap:
In 2017, Mahira Khan and Osman Khalid Butt performed a rap song at Lux Style Awards. Saba Qamar had boycotted Lux Style Awards citing prejudice against her as one of the biggest reasons. Saba Qamar also stated that now that she had done a movie in Bollywood, she was being treated as a royalty whereas in the past, none of her work was acknowledged or appreciated. In 2017, both Mahira Khan and Saba Qamar debuted in Bollywood movies and both Raees and Hindi Medium did well at the box office. These films gave Mahira and Saba a platform to let everyone know their caliber as actors.
Mahira Khan and Osman Khalid Butt performed the rap and one of the lines of the rap said “kya appki filmain bhi hain 100 crores kamati”. This was all fun and games and it did not look like Mahira Khan was indirectly insulting Saba Qamar. Later when Hindi Medium surpassed Raees’ box office collection, Saba Qamar quoted this line from Mahira Khan’s rap and openly reprimanded it saying she did not like insulting jokes. Mahira Khan had openly wished Saba Qamar good luck and she never once make it look like there was some sort of competition going on between her and Saba. After this post, Saba let it know that she did take it as a competition because everyone on both sides of the border was comparing both Mahira and Saba. This post of Saba also proved that she took that rap personally and later when she got a chance, she got back at Mahira. Osman Khalid Butt, who was the lyricist of this rap took it to his social media and explained the thought process behind this rap.

Upcoming Pakistani Dramas Starring Big Names – There are so many new dramas which the viewers look forward to every year, at the end of every season. Sometimes, the reason for this is that these dramas star their favorite actors and they are directed and written by the best people in the business. There are also those actors who choose the projects they work in really carefully which is why every time they are seen working on a new project, it instantly grabs the attention of the viewers. There are also certain topics which are rarely touched upon in dramas therefore whenever a drama is based on a story which highlights such issues, viewers want to see what the drama makers have to offer. Then there are those dramas with promos so enticing that you can’t help but look forward to them.

Hamza Ali Abbasi, Sajal Aly, Kubra Khan, Ahsan Khan, Osman Khalid Butt, Sadaf Kanwal, Saleem Mairaj, Javed Sheikh, Samina Peerzada are some of the big names which will seen playing major roles in Alif. The latest news is that Alif will air after Eid.
Hamza Ali Abbasi is excited about this particular project because of the message in this drama. Sajal Aly is equally thrilled to be part of this project. Iqrar-ul-Hassan’s son Pehlaaj Hassan will also be making his acting debut with this drama.
Bheegei Palkein
Bheegei Palkein is Ayeza Khan and Imran Abbas’ next drama together, although all their dramas together have been more tragic than anything else but there are many viewers who are looking forward to this project, hoping that this time around, these two will get their happy ending! Apart from Ayeza Khan and Imran Abbas, Saba Faisal will also be playing a primary role in the drama. This drama has been directed by Ahmed Bhatti and is an iDream Production. Not much has been revealed about it, apart from the fact that it will be airing on ARY. A drama with the same title also aired on Aplus few years back starring Faysal Qureshi and Ushna Shah.

Nadia Jamil is one of my favorite actors not just because of the fact that her acting is so natural but also because she is such a wonderful person who always works in projects which serve a bigger purpose. Nadia Jamil isn’t seen on screen very often so that is another reason why her fans look forward to her projects. In her own words Damsa is going to be, ” the most legendary dramas Pakistan will ever see.” Nadia Jamil also believes that Damsa is the kind of drama that “can truly make a difference in the world.”
Nadia Jamil is truly excited about this project which will be airing on ARY Digital. When someone like her believes so much in a project, there is no reason not to watch it. The drama will highlight the issue of child trafficking.
Jhooti
Jhooti is an upcoming drama serial starring Ahmed Ali Butt, who is known for his wit and comic timing but this time around he will be seen playing a serious role alongside Iqra Aziz, who won the viewers over completely with her performance in Ranjha Ranjha Kardi. Sharing details about his character and the story in general, Ahmed Ali Butt said that he will be playing the role of a shop owner, a man who works hard to make ends meet but is in a troubled marriage because his wife (Iqra Aziz) is a compulsive liar.
Ahmed Ali Butt will hence be the perfect husband who has to cope with a complicated relationship. The play has been written by Ali Moeen, directed by Ramish Rizvi and also stars Asma Abbas, Abid Ali and Yasir Hussein. It would be interesting watching Ahmed Ali Butt in a serious role but I also hope that this won’t be another Balaa since while talking to The News, Ahmed Ali Butt shared, “There are some major shockers in the play and how my character is affected by them.” The most interesting bit is that so far only Ahmed Ali Butt has been talking about this drama and Iqra Aziz has not shared her views at all!
Mere Pass Tum Ho
Mere Pass Tum Ho’s script has been written by Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, it has been directed by the iconic director Nadeem Baig and this drama has been produced by Six Sigma Plus. Humayun Saeed and Ayeza Khan will be playing leading roles in Mere Pass Tum Ho. Asad Siddiqui, Hira Mani and Asad Khan will also be seen playing supporting roles in the drama. Mere Pass Tum Ho will be airing on 17th August on ARY Digital. The promos are already out and even though these promos are giving Mere Khawab Reza Reza and Khasara feel but it is good to see Humayun Saeed playing a role which seems quite similar to the one he played in Doraha – a lower middle class man who is doing his best to keep it all together.
Humayun Saeed was absolutely brilliant as Mohid in Dillagi therefore watching him play another role in which he is head over heels with his wife would be a treat. Ayeza Khan will be playing the thankless and greedy wife, definitely not a new character but the fact that Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has written the script and Nadeem Baig has directed this play is bound to make a huge difference. I am looking forward to this play and even with the been-there-seen-that feel, Mere Pass Tum Ho’s promos have a definite appeal.

Prem Gali
Drama serial Prem Gali is Aangan’s sequel, it will have some of the old characters and few new ones but the central theme will more or less be the same. This script is really close to Faiza iftikhar’s heart, it has been directed by the same director who was behind Aangan i.e Qasim Ali Mureed and it has been produced by Six Sigma Plus. Farhan Saeed and Sohai Ali Abro are the latest addition in this sequel.
The team Prem Gali is not revealing a lot of details about the rest of the cast or the story but the fact that this is the sequel of one of the best dramas we have seen in recent times makes it one of the most promising upcoming dramas. The shooting for the drama has only started but it is definitely the kind of drama which would be worth the wait.

Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Aly’s Yet-To-Be-Titled Play
Ahad Raza Mir, Sajal Aly, Adnan Siddiqui, Masroor Paras and Mira Sethi will also be seen ‘very soon’ in Farhat Ishtiaq’s next drama which is going to be a romance thriller but not much has been revealed about this project yet. The fans would surely want to see Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Aly together once again in a romantic play. Ahson Talish has directed this play and in an interview he said, ” “It’s a beautifully written story by Farhat Ishtiaq. It’s being produced by MD Productions and Ahad, Sajal and Adnan [Siddiqui] are the main characters. It’s a romantic thriller which we shot up in Islamabad and Shogran and will tentatively come out end of July, beginning August on Hum TV.”

Heer Maan Ja trailer is finally here and now we know it’s not just a different kind of runaway bride movie.There’s a family feud, and an ex-flame involved. And things get way more chaotic from here.
Heer Maan Ja is an upcoming Pakistani romantic comedy film, directed by Azfar Jafri. The film is produced by Imran Raza Kazmi under the banner of IRK Films; the film is distributed by the Distribution Club. The film stars Ali Rehman Khan, and Hareem Farooq in the lead roles, alongside Faizan Shaikh, Shamayale Khattak, Sami Khan and Mojiz Hasan in the supporting roles. The film is scheduled for release on 12 August 2019, on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Adha
This was another well paced episode of Inkaar which covered every little detail and emotion with utmost precision. The performances and the execution never disappoint and the script throughout has been faultless. Just when Hajra and Shayan thought that their ultimate sacrifice will prove to be a good trade-off, the other side exercised their influence and the balance of power shifted in their favor. Imran Ashraf’s performance tonight too was on point and Yumna Zaidi has done exceptionally well throughout. This drama continues to be real but never gets too dark since there is always hope that things will eventually work in Hajra’s favor.
The Conflicts
Every episode of this drama shows the characters in some conflicting situation. The manner in which these characters deal with these conflicts reveals more about their personalities. Shayan’s unconditional love for Hajra continues to be the most admirable aspect of his personality. This episode opened with a scene which showed Hajra struggling – saying yes would have meant letting her mother down and putting her brother’s life in danger and saying no would have meant going against her heart’s desire and not fulfilling the promise she made to her father. Hajra ultimately said yes after her father in a way reminded her of the promise she had made. This scene was directed so well, Hajra’s hesitation, her father’s strength and her mother’s breakdown – all of these made perfect sense.
I also loved the way Shayan asked Hajra if she entered into this nikkah with her own consent or was it because of her father’s pressure. On the one hand we have a man like Rehan, who doesn’t know the first thing about consent and on the other hand we have a man like Shayan who doesn’t want the woman who he loves so dearly to be in his life without her free consent. It was Hajra’s reply which gave Shayan even more strength and later on The conditions Rehan set for Jawad’s release made Shayan in particular do something he was never willing to do.
Honestly speaking, I am glad that Shayan’s father was not able to help him and ultimately this case will be decided in the court. This meant that Shayan and Hajra were free to be together, live their lives the way they wanted to and fight this war together.
Change In Rehan’s Personality
Rehan is no longer the ‘love stricken’ desperate man he was before. The way he insulted Hajra and asked for an apology on social media clearly showed that he was now more influenced by his stepmother than ever before. He wants Hajra to look bad in front of the world while he automatically becomes the victim. Rehan’s character has been etched-out so well, he is twisted and disturbed, he has no values and no conscience and surely someone like him could only do something as horrific as he did to Hajra. Imran Ashraf has been outstanding as Rehan especially in these past few weeks. He makes you understand and relate to his character and as a consequence you can’t help but hate Rehan Chaudhry. He also helps the viewers understand the mindset of all such men who think they own the women who are or have ever been with them.
Final Remarks & The Preview
The attention to detail and the pace of this show has been superb throughout. The war between politics and bureaucracy was also covered in a realistic and interesting manner in this episode. The preview of the next episode was especially exciting! I was pretty sure that sooner or later, this case was going to go the court and that is where the story is headed. I am also hoping that at some point the CCTV footage will surface and that will make Hajra’s case stronger. Rehan’s frustration and the judge’s remarks in the preview of the next episode showed that this time around things will work in Hajra’s favor.

Dramas entertain and enlighten at the same time, the media in general and the dramas in particular can play a major role in changing mindsets and highlighting issues which are considered tabooed. There are also those sections of our society which are largely put into boxes and some of these dramas challenge stereotypes in the most impeccable manner. while some drama focus specifically on subjects and scenarios which guarantee commercial success, there are others which have a definite focus and a bigger purpose. Unfortunately, there are also those dramas which are promoted as issue-based dramas but the actual intent is to grab the attention of the viewers by using topics such as sexual abuse and domestic violence. Sadly enough, most of the times these dramas which simply ‘use’ these serious issues to grab public attention get more viewership than those dramas which actually deliver what they promised.
Through this article I want to appreciate the efforts of all those writers, directors and actors who chose to be part of projects which were ‘risky’ and succeeded in highlighting issues which are crucial and relevant. Anyone can play it safe and win TRPs but it takes someone truly dedicated to write about topics which are controversial and tabooed.

Baba Jani

Baba Jani questioned many stereotypes and gave the viewers an unconventional hero. The viewers get to see plenty of dramas which highlight the plight of women – the challenges they face and how hard it gets for women to juggle so many different things at the same time. Baba Jani was one of the very few dramas which showed how challenging it was for a man to keep a balance when he was being pressurized from every direction. The best aspect of this play was that it showed a man who actually managed to keep it all together unlike other dramas which very often show that a man in such a situation sometimes ends up being unfair to his parents/siblings and most often to his wife and children.
This drama also showed how this man, Asfand, raised his step-daughter as his own even though he was under great pressure. Baba Jani also highlighted the role of the society and how people make things more difficult for others by gossiping about things which don’t concern them. The way his sisters’ role was shown was also important because it must have given all such sisters something to reflect upon. Do we expect too much from our brothers and sons sometimes? Men are always expected to be strong, to be the support system of the entire family but is it really easy for them to keep a balance? Well, Baba Jani raised all these questions and answered them beautifully too. This drama also presented an example for all those men out there who very often expect their wives to compromise and fail to keep the balance.
Inkaar is one of the most phenomenal dramas of recent times because of its approach towards issues which are not just relevant but have also been put forward in the most convincing manner. This drama has so much to offer since every issue raised in this drama has been addressed in detail. The central idea of this drama is to highlight the importance of consent in a relationship. Very often we see rape victims being held accountable for the injustice done to them because they were raped by the man who was their ‘friends’. Apart from this, Inkaar also highlights a woman’s right to choose her own spouse, her prerogative to say no when she deems it fit. This drama has beautifully shown how important it is for girls to take a stand for themselves even when they feel that they will face opposition and oppression.
Inkaar is not the first drama which has dealt with such an issue but it is definitely the first one which has done so with utmost precision. The writer has done a special favor to his viewers by making them understand why men like Rehan think that they ‘own’ the women/girls they are in a relationship with. It also highlights the importance of nurturing – no one is born evil, the way someone is brought up plays a major role in defining their personalities. This drama also shows how important it is for the families to support girls who have been wronged and it does so while keeping things real. Inkaar raises issues, highlights mindsets and is also inspirational.
Mera Rab Waris

Mera Rab Waris can easily be termed as a commercial play but the main protagonist of this play and the way her trials have been shown highlights an important and relevant issue. All those women out there who observe strict pardah can probably relate to whatever Ayesha has gone through and is going through since right from the first episode her pardah has been the main topic of discussion. The way Ayesha sticks to her values, is sure about her choices and tries her best to remove stereotypes has been the best part of a drama which isn’t as good as rest of the dramas in this list but definitely deserves a spot here. Social stereotyping is something which most women face on daily basis, most often based on what they choose to wear. There aren’t a lot of dramas which address such issues. This drama does so with precision and shows the vulnerabilities and strengths of the main protagonist beautifully making the story more relatable. It shows that sometimes women who observe pardah and have a certain set of values face more challenges than women who decide to follow a path which more acceptable socially. This drama also shows the hypocrisy of the society and their inability to accept individual choices.
Ranjha Ranjha Kardi was an exceptional play which was both entertaining as well as educational. Through this play and the character Bhola, the writer told the story of all such people out there who are most often ignored by people because there are certain stereotypes attached to them. People with special needs who are often seen on the streets are most often scorned off or are treated as individuals who are void of feelings. By introducing a man with special needs in this drama in such a way that people couldn’t help falling in love with him, the team of this play changed this perception forever. This drama also highlighted how people with such needs or disabilities also need acceptance and love, just like everyone else out there. Therefore, when they are rejected, they feel hurt just like anyone else would.
Ranjha Ranjha Kardi was truly one-of-a-kind drama which redefined the term ‘hero’ and in a very intelligent manner asked people to have more empathy for people like Bhola. This was dangerous territory for sure but Ranjha Ranjha Kardi was a commercial success and it got critical acclaim as well.
Zun Mureed

Zun Mureed was a different journey altogether. This was not the first time that a drama which dealt with the problems which women face in a male dominated society was made. This was however the first time that a writer attempted and succeeded in shedding light on the issue that making laws is not enough, ensuring that they get implemented swiftly and most importantly changing the mindset of the people is the biggest challenge. The main protagonist Tabbasum’s journey throughout showed that she had more critics than supporters. On the other hand, there were so many people who endorsed what her husband Sajjad did. This drama showed how important it was for women to respect themselves and not to allow their spouses to abuse them in any way.
There was an important message for men in this drama too and it was one which most certainly was not easy to accept. This is the reason why this drama was criticized a lot too! Relationships come first and ego comes second, if people start sacrificing their relationships to satisfy their egos than the fate which awaits their children was clearly shown in this drama. For all those receptive viewers out there, this drama had a great deal to offer. This was the kind of drama which raised quite a few important questions but at the same answered some too! I truly appreciate the way it was shown how the children get affected in such a situation. Children need their parents to work together in order to run the house and make them feel secured. So many stereotypes were challenged in Zun Mureed and the mentality behind hitting women was explored as well. The most important aspect was that the last episode highlighted how vital equality and respect was in a marriage.

The serial has kept the audience gripped to its storyline from the very first episode, and Bilal Abbas Khan is one of the biggest reasons for its success. 28 episodes down, there are numerous scenes which are a visual example of his excellent acting skills, making us hate Wajih to the core, yet appreciate the convincing skills displayed by Bilal Abbas Khan.

1. The Sudden Transition from a Doting Brother, to a Murderer:
6th episode is whenWajih confessesto being Nayab’s murderer in front of his bhabiMannat and his character within a second switches from a loveable hero, to the villain. It is surely one of the most intense and intriguing scenes of the serial till date. It requires a lot of acting precision to show this change within a single scene, and the anger, ego and lust in Wajihwas nailed by Bilal. His dialogue delivery in addition was a cherry on the top.
2. The Moment he Calmly Bribes Nayab’s Frustrated Father
Just after the truth gets revealed, there is a humongous change in innocent’s Wajih’s personality, whose presence only is generating negative vibes now. A part in episode 7 where Wajih goes to Ramzan Ahmed’s house to bribe them to stay quiet, caught our attention. Ramzan Ahmed is furiously shouting at him, asking him to leave, calling him a murderer,andWajihin return is absolutely calm. Unperturbed, he just keeps increasing the amountof money, knowing how it’ll be easy to manipulate Nayab’s step-mother with it. The scene showcases aspectacular performance by Bilal. The way he is unruffled and composed throughout, all the while managing to radiate an evil energy from him, is acting on-point!
3. A Silent Wajih with Black Ink Smeared all over him:
A scene in the same episodearrives whenRamzan Ahmedsneakily gets into their house and throws black ink on Wajih’s face before running away. The scene has no dialogues from Wajih, but the anger in his eyes is enough to grasp the audience’s attention and nonverbally perfectly communicate his sentiments at the moment. If you watch it, you wouldn’t be able to take your eyes off him!
4. Wajih – the Blackmailer
The best thing about Bilal Abbas Khan is that the versatility in his acting can be witnessed easily in any particular scene: where at the beginning of the episode he might seem like the sweetest person on earth, the scene progresses and his reality comes forth in a brilliant show of acting excellence.
An example can be seen in episode 17 and 18, where the innocent looking Wajih with the help of his naïve looks successfullyfoolsMannat’s mother and locks her inside a store room. Wajih turns into a terrifying blackmailer, and his expressions can literally generate shivers in you!
5. Killing Mannat’s Child
Bilal has managed to depictWajih as the most heartless creature that can ever exist. The chunk in Episode 19 where Wajih drives behind Mannat, resulting in her fall and the eventual miscarriage was painful to the core, but Wajih’spitiless nature is highlighted perfectly.
6. The Turning of Tables For Wajih
The antagonist of the serial and the man with nerves of steel, moving towards the end of the serial cracks up as well, showing transition in his personality a third time in one drama serial! Not just a scene, but the whole of episode 26 is a visual representation of it. Wajih unintentionally killing his brotherbrings a drastic change in his demeanor and the confession of this murder in front of Yawar is surely a scene that many of us have watched twice! The agony in him for the loss of his brother, mixed with the villainous vibe in his character is a trait very difficult to pull off, and Bilal Abbas Khan totally stole the show with it.
7. Frustration and Worry Finally Catches Up to Wajih
Before episode 28 was aired, we had witness all kinds of expressions from Wajih – cute concern, indifference, villainous attitude, and even fear. The one thing we never imagined on his face, was to see worry. And we finally get to see it then moment he gets to know that his elder brother, his one support, has gotten paralyzed. That’s where we see an unexpected helplessness and love from Wajih for his brother, and the contrast in his personality was mesmerizing to watch.
With Cheekh now moving towards itsconclusion, the viewers anxiously are waiting to see how justice will be served. Bilal with his phenomenal performance has made Wajih the biggest antagonist of the year.
