Pakistani people love watching dramas and currently Turkish dramas series Dirilis Ertugrul is breaking records in Pakistan.
PM Imran Khan recommended his nation to watch this drama and learn Islamic history from it.
However, well-known scholar Mufti Tariq Masood has made shocking claims about people who watch dramas.
He gave his opinion about people who watch dramas and said, “People want entertainment and we don’t have many positive things. By watching dramas no one has chosen the right path.”
“These dramas have earned in billions but it has ruined our culture. People are taking a lot of interest in dramas and even they are crying after watching it.”
“These all are time-wasting things so people who are taking interest in these dramas will get deprived of Jannat. Dramas and films are playing with your emotions and they are not of any use. These dramas are breaking families.”
He talked about Turkish dramas and said, “Tayyip Erdogan made dramas but at least he has a vision. He showed true Islamic history of Khilafat e Usmania.”
Seems like Pakistanis now have another character from the series Ertuğrul that they’d want to moral police. This time it will be the very gorgeous Burcu Kiratli who plays the character of Gokche Hatun in Ertuğrul.
Burcu Kiratli is a 30 year old Turkish actor. With her graduation in Visual Communication Design, this 30 year old actress has been performing in short films and a number of theatre plays since she was a student.
Kiratly has learnt the art of acting from the Müjdat Gezen Art Academy and also worked there as a permanent actress for 2 years.

Arts and dramatics often play a huge part in cultural exchange between the countries. Dramas of any country tell the tale about the cultures and the norms of the society. This is the reason they are connecting to it on an emotional level, however it is unfortunate that this passion has driven them to the level of criticism because some of them are unable to set the difference between the reel life and real life of the actors.
Here’s What Pakistani Viewers Did To Turkish Stars
It was after they started learning more and more about the Ertugrul Ghazi’s star cast that they decided to follow their favorite Turkish stars on social media, but unfortunately they decided to treat them exactly how they treat their own Pakistani celebrities; with criticism. Be it Esra Bilgiç who played the role of Halima Sultan or Engin Altan Düzyatan who played the role of Ertugrul Ghazi, none of them were spared the wrath of the Pakistani viewers who were irrationally finding it hard to accept that the characters they have fallen in love were played by actors who lead a normal life.
This is when the Pakistani viewers assigned themselves the duty of moral and religious police because they started trolling the Turkish stars by commenting on their choice of clothes, their choice of keeping pet dogs and also making impolite comments upon the star’s spouse. For these commenters, it might just be an unsolicited comment that they are passing, but they are forgetting about the fact that it is also going to leave an impression of their country.
The Ertugrul Ghazi star Engin Altan Düzyatan thanked the Pakistani audience for the overwhelming response in terms of popularity that they have given to the series but on the other hand, Pakistani audience are finding it hard to keep their comments civil and not cross the line in the name of criticism. The things that Pakistani viewers have said to the Turkish stars are bizarre and uncalled for. They have taken it up on them to teach them about the religion and are constantly asking the Turkish actors whether they are Muslims or not because Pakistanis can not stop being judgmental.
What Pakistani Viewers Took Away From The Turkish Series In Real Life
In this day and age where social media is a part of everyone’s life, it doesn’t take a rocket science for people to figure out the mentality of the general audience belonging to a certain country. It is unfortunate that the purpose for which the Turkish Series was aired on PTV has been completely lost and the Pakistani viewers have boiled it down to conveniently forgetting about the message by making it all about the actors who have portrayed those characters.
The comments are overflowing which highlight the disappointment of the Pakistani viewers and in stead of talking about the efforts of the real Islamic Heroes from the past, they are only talking about the life of actors who have played these roles. Then there are also those who are insinuating that Pakistanis are coming to pass judgments, which in other words is nothing short of a mockery itself. Very rarely a few decent viewers have tried to undo the damage by posting positive comments but they are nothing in comparison to the negative comments that have already been posted under the Turkish actor’s pictures.
Some decided to bash their own Pakistani countrymen by pointing out the flaws, by resorting to profanity and abusive language. In their perspective, they were doing Turkish stars a favor by defending them and fighting with fellow Pakistanis but when looking at the bigger picture, it just shows that either way, they continued to troll and showed their sense of entitlement to have an opinion by passing final verdicts.
The Few Pakistani Fans Who Made Sense

A Pakistani girl, named Tuba Faraz has gone viral when she shared her love story on a Facebook group, stating how her husband stood by a ‘moti’ larki, a fat girl’ and married her despite all odds.
Tuba shared her post on Facebook stating how she had been laughing reading everyone’s stories and wanted to share hers as well. The girl then paid a tribute to her husband stating how he had been the very best and most supportive.
“I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I don’t find myself beautiful, I think I’m very fat. And our society does not accept fat girls, especially in the context of marriage for their sons. But I feel that if you’re good, you will get good,” wrote Tuba.
“I was very sincere in my relationship with my boyfriend. I felt that if I wronged my partner, he would wrong me too. So I did everything right. After 3 years, today, I am happily married to my boyfriend,” she added further.
Tuba also added that regardless of how she looked, her then boyfriend, now husband, would praise her for looking good. He would find her pretty in anything she wore.
Sharig how her husband took a stand for her, Tuba added, “He fought very hard for us, especially when it came to convincing his family for our marriage. In our society, parents do not want fat girls for their sons. But he convinced them, that’s how much he loved me.”
Tuba’s story comes as a breath of fresh year in a society where chubby girls are looked down upon. People turn them down for proposals because of the cliched ‘fat girls don’t make pretty brides,’ statement. Even boys don’t prefer chubby girls and usually go for those with the ‘hot’ looks.
And therefore in a society like this, kudos to Tuba and her husband specially for breaking these societal norms and taking a stand for their love, not looking at each other’s physical attributes or valuing them over the person she is.

Ohkay so, this was a hit & a miss episode of Ye Dil Mera. Where some of the scenes were good, the other failed to leave an impact. Half the time, this episode covered what the viewers already know & have memorized. The only new or unseen scenes were very few like Amaan’s interactions with Abdur Rehman Baba & later showing how the argument between Nilofer Baji & Meer Farooq escalated.
The Quest Continues
Ana’s dreams are back but more than that, her memory is shaken & now she is finding herself being reminded of a few bits & bobs from her childhood, which included memories of her mother Nilofer. Ana is now trying to analyze things on her & trying to make sense of what she is seeing & is being reminded of. This episode didn’t show Ana much but for now, it was still a decent approach of the director to suggest that she on her own was also battling with her inner struggles as well.
Amaan got in touch with Abdur Rehman Baba. Their conversations suggested that he left Daryabagh after the accident but Amaan found him out. The best part about their scenes was the usage of the native language, plus the actor playing the role of Abdur Rehman Baba has this flow to it that it feels nice listening to it, but it was sad that even his dialogues were few & repetitive. Farhat Ishtiyaq is known for writing some brilliant and meaningful dialogues but this definitely is not the case with Ye Dil Mera. Yes, the conversations of this drama couldn’t be too philosophical but it also didn’t deserve these kinds of plain & simple dialogues which are repetitive as well!
Meer Farooq continued to search for Ana but he couldn’t. Ali Baksh was also doing everything to find his “SAAHIB’s” daughter but he was failing miserably. It is now turning out to be a little unconvincing that none of them bothered replying back to Nargis Bua’s calls. They should’ve given her a chance thinking maybe she knows something or if Ana must’ve contacted her but they didn’t. Even if Nargis Bua hadn’t called them, the first person Ali Baksh or Meer Farooq should’ve called was Nargis Bua.
Nargis Bua & Detective Farhana started off their Mission Rescue Ana, but on the way to Daryabagh & after wasting a lot of kilometers, they discussed some details & finally, to much relief of the viewers Nargis Bua spilled the beans on how Meer Farooq killed Amaan’s family. It didn’t take Detective Farhana to figure out that Amaan had something against Meer Farooq even before Nargis Bua told her the truth because she ended up believing that Amaan was capable of harming Ana & he was doing all of this for a reason, but it is good that she now knows. Detective Farhana already was not much pleased with Meer Farooq & now she has all the more reason to despise him because she knows that he is a criminal. The rest of the episode was filled with flashbacks, which definitely could’ve been avoided.
The last few scenes of the episode were intense with Nilofer calling Meer Farooq out & telling him that she was going to do everything to expose him. Once again, some great performances there. Every step of the way, you feel for Nilofer because no wife deserves a psychopath like Meer Farooq Zaman. Amaan also has a plan & he ended up sharing it with Abdur Rehman. Now that he has spoken about him dying, I think this is the only plausible closure his character will get. He has spent his entire life suffering from PTSD & coming up with a plan of destroying Meer Farooq & after when he’s done, as much as I would like to see that happening, maybe it won’t be possible for Amaan to lead a normal life. The only ray of hope for his character happens to be the unconditional love for Ana that she may bring him out of his misery but after she will find out what her father has done in the past with Amaan’s family as well as her own mother, she herself will go into depression. Let’s see what happens.
Ye Dil Mera Should’ve Ended By Now
It is unfortunate that Ye Dil Mera still has not ended. Even if they wanted the drama to be long, 30 episodes were enough but it is kind of upsetting that there are still so many episodes left. The next one will uncover a few more details of the night when Nilofer tried to run away with Ana, those scenes will definitely be quite intense. Another week, another opportunity wasted for Ana to grow mentally, but it is interesting that despite her world turning upside down, her styling is on-point & she looks stunning. Detective Farhana continues to underperform & even when she found out such a shocking truth, her reaction was cold, maybe the temperatures of Daryabagh were already getting to her. The first episode of Ertugrul reached 20M views in 2 weeks while Meray Paas Tum Ho reached the 20M mark in 8 months. The first episode of Ertugrul will also surpass this number in a few hours.
Originally produced by the Turkish state-owned media company TRT the drama has now been released on Netflix, the largest streaming website in the world. Ertugrul depicts the pre-history of the Ottoman Empire, revolving around the plight of the nomadic Kayi Oghuz Turkish tribe, led by Ertugrul, the father of Osman I, the founder of the Ottoman Empire.
TRT is now aiming to get the World Record of or most new subscribers in 1 month on YouTube. The official channel of Ertugrul currently has 6.2M while the record stands 6.6 million. The official channel for Ertugrul Ghazi tweeted that the record could be reached with help from the channel’s Pakistani viewers.

“I did go through a patch where a lot of people came up to me and told me ‘you shouldn’t wear jeans’ and ‘you should never wear sleeveless’ because you are so ‘big’. That’s when I realized if this person feels something about me, I think I should do it twice and take pictures and put it up,” she added.

He shared, “I was doing a film in Bollywood ‘Happy Bhag Jaegi’, so in that film, a girl had to play Pakistani girl’s role but at the last moment, she refused to do the character. The producer got worried and they called me to give the name of some Pakistani actresses who can play this character. I was part of the film and I sent them 2-3 names.”
“In the meantime, they were also finding Pakistani girls on the internet and they found Momal’s photos. They liked Momal’s work and the director’s assistance said that Momal will be fine for this role. They didn’t know that Momal Sheikh is Javed Sheikh’s daughter and they suspected that she might be my daughter. The director called me to ask about whether she is my daughter or not? I said yes, she is my daughter.”
“They told me that they have selected my daughter. They were confused that why I didn’t recommend my daughter for this role but I told them that I don’t recommend my children because it will be wrong,” Javed Sheikh added.
He further said, “Alhamdulillah, we worked in the movie and the movie was successful.”
Talking about his children, Javed Sheikh said, “If Shehzad and Moomal get successful in the industry then nobody can raise their fingers on them that they got successful because of their father.”

Ohkay so, this episode focused on how the responsibilities were being allocated to Kashf & she wasn’t surprised, or was she because she had seen it all & her father did not disappoint her. This entire episode yet again highlighted how Kashf was a dutiful daughter who couldn’t imagine going against her family because her dreams had already indicated that this is what her fate was going to be, she was just going with the flow.
Another Dream, Another Reality
Ashi Pupho’s character definitely has to be the strongest of the females of the family. She is not only opinionated but is someone who doesn’t mind taking charge of the situation, despite knowing that there’s not much that she can do. Ashi tries to rectify the situation but unfortunately, in the end Imtiyaz continues to be the decision maker who has assigned this duty to himself.
The episode began with an aged man coming to see Kashf for marriage with his daughter. This was something absolutely shocking for the entire family, however Kashf had this satisfaction because she knew Imtiyaz would call it off. The entire sequence where no one could decipher what Kashf was trying to say about her dream was phenomenal because it actually showed how she is on a different level & that even those who love her will find it difficult to understand her. My favorite moment of this entire episode was when Imtiyaz sent the suitor away & then Kashf turned to look at her father. Was it the first time she was seeing through her father or this did not shock her because this is what she expected from him.
A little more insight was given into Matiullah’s character but before that, the way they have introduced him being an abusive husband to Ashi has established the fact that he is a hypocrite; a two faced person who didn’t mind mistreating his wife but continued to sell religion & his carefully fabricated image in order to make the money. It was clear, for Matiullah, this is a business & now, Kashf was the perfect candidate to expand his business. The person who has informed Matiullah about Kashf was basically planted by him as a spy in Qari Sahab’s madrasa because this way, he would find out what Qari Sahad used to do & what was it in him that attracted more & more people to him. Matiullah proposed a deal to Imtiyaz & because he saw it as a profitable opportunity, he didn’t think twice.
The rest of the sequence which showed how Imtiyaz continued to allot one responsibility after another on Kashf was brilliantly done. It showed that now Imtiyaz was finally going to be his ideal self because he had hit the jackpot, whereas Kashf’s life, her dreams, every fragment of her imagination was falling apart, yet she stayed calm & composed because she knew, this is exactly what was in store for her. This is another reason why she doesn’t find Zoya’s antics & meanness hurtful because she exactly knows the reason why she behaves in such a way!
Wajdan & Ashi have the best interest of Kashf along with her mother but as Wajdan said, only if Kashf will give him an edge, he will do what it takes to make everything right. The conversation that Kashf & Wajdan had was well-written. Although Kashf is not going to go against her father, she knows exactly how she is going to protect herself. She has drawn a line & she will never ever let anyone cross it, at least this was one assurity that she gave to Wajdan.
Brilliant Episode
Hira Mani has always been a very strong performer & I have enjoyed watching her acting since Preet Na Kariyo days & it is commendable that even after doing so many projects, she continues to impress & showcase that she has so much to offer as a performer. Undoubtedly, no one else could’ve done justice to the character of Kashf like Hira Mani has done.
Waseem Abbas was the star of this episode; every minute expression, all the dialogues that he delivered showcased the kind of mentality he as a father & a husband possessed. This sort of flawless performance is already expected from an actor of Waseem Abbas’s stature, however the way he has embraced the character of Imtiyaz showed that he understood its psyche and enjoyed portraying it. The change in his body language after he sealed the deal proposed by Matiullah was so enjoyable to watch because like he said, he already had a clear picture in mind of how his life was going to change after the money would start pouring in; something that he was waiting for all his life. The rest of the actors especially Munazzah Arif & Hajra Khan also continued to impress. Junaid Khan has done a brilliant job as Wajdan.

Actress Nimra Khan posted a video of herself reciting Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s ‘Wohi Khuda Hai‘ which is sung by popular singer Nimra Rafique. However, no one could recognize it because it was a TikTok video and the logo was missing too.
Many people failed to recognize who is the original singer. Nimra Khan’s video went viral and it was published by various publications but still, she didn’t clarify that she used someone else’s voice.
After the video went viral, some people called her out for using someone else’s voice without mentioning that person or asking for the permission.
While speaking to the Express Tribune, Nimra Rafique claimed, “Nimra Khan asked me to take my video down so she could make a TikTok of it and upload it from her Instagram, just to see how many people would like it. I agreed, simply with the condition that she credits me.”
“I instantly messaged her on Friday night, telling her to give me credits but she didn’t respond. The video was up on her page and when I saw she hadn’t credited me the next day either, I uploaded the original version. But it was too late, people thought I had copied her voice!” Nimra Rafique said.
After this huge mess, Nimra Khan spoke to The Express Tribune and clarified, “I had no intentions of stealing her voice and making it my own. I make several TikToks and upload them without crediting whose voices I’m lip-syncing. I never thought this would be such a big issue. I honestly got busy because my father in law was unwell and credited her when I found out it had turned into an issue.”
Nimra Khan gave credits and now she has deleted the video from her Instagram handle. She further said that Nimra Rafique is her friend and she uploaded that video after seeking her permission.
Khan said, “She only told me to credit her when she saw how viral my video became. Not before that.”
However, Nimra Rafique agreed that gaining followers was part of the agreement but initially she didn’t get any credit for it.
Tennis legend Sania Mirza appeared in an interview with Jemimah Rodrigues and Smriti Mandhana for their Youtube chat show “Double Trouble”.
In her interview, Sania Mirza talked about women getting blamed for their Husband’s failures especially in the sub-continent.
She spoke on this matter when the hosts asked Sania Mirza about her ‘joru ka ghulam’ tweet which she made during the Women’s T20 World Cup in March.
In that tweet, she applauded Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc for always supporting his wife. Sania Mirza believes if the same thing has happened in the sub-continent, the men must have made fun of.
Sania Mirza is confused about how come a woman is a source of distraction and not a strength.
She said, “When he (Starc) went back to his wife to watch the World Cup final and everybody was hailing him.”
She further said, “I was trying to just picture Shoaib doing that for me and I was like, hell would have broken loose if that would have happened. They would have said that he is such a joru ka ghulam, he is going and watching a women’s match.”
She believes that it’s a cultural issue to blame women on everything. Often, Sania Mirza is criticized when she travels with her husband during cricket matches.
“I think there is a much deeper issue. The deeper issue is that a woman can always be a distraction and not a strength,” she said.
Popular singer Amanat Ali tied the knot with Sarah Amanat in 2017 and they are blessed with a baby girl.
Amanat Ali shared how he met his wife, Sarah and how they got married. He shared:
“My marriage was arranged plus love. I saw her at a friend’s wedding and I knew her through common friends. I met her at the age of 16 and next year we got married.”

He further shared, “In 2016, at the wedding of our friend she came from Canada and I was there too and we met there. Within a month, it all happened because we involved our parents.”
Talking about best qualities of his wife, he said, “She is fun-loving, respectful, and has jolly nature.”
Amanat Ali said, “On 14th February we went on a dinner and there I proposed her with a ring and she said ‘yes’.”

“I think we should support local industry and I stand with Shaan Sahid because he spoke the truth,” she added.
