Khuda Aur Mohabbat Last Episode Review – The End!

Ohkay so, even though I had mixed feelings while watching the episode but the first & the last scene of this episode saved this entire drama for me. The last scene of this episode, rather drama put the emphasis on the bigger purpose that the writer had in his mind while he was writing this story that the love of Creator is everything one can wish for & one should strive for. It won’t be a lie if I will say that I am a tad bit disappointed with Isaac’s supposed & quick redemption & Hammad’s final decision of not accepting Sarah in his life, but if I see things separately, then they sure make sense, however one thing, rather one character that still didn’t make any sense till date was of Isaac, like he is beyond my comprehension.

Now speaking of the overall season where the drama-makers promised to show us the complete story, I still am not entirely happy with the way things progressed after the 16th episode. 16 out of 23 episodes, which makes 70% of the drama were dedicated to the first half of the novel, which didn’t leave any room for complaints because it was executed so brilliantly. However, if I speak about the remaining 7 episodes, I am clear about it that I don’t feel the same way about the second half like I did about the first half. They put so much of effort & hard work in the first 16 episodes, so if we see it that way, they only had to work a little harder for only 7 episodes more but not sure what went wrong there because the drama completely lost its charm in these last 7 episodes. The way things were executed in the second half, it suggested as if an entirely different team took over because nothing absolutely nothing matched the level of the first half of the drama. Also, if we see it that way, the team of Khuda Aur Mohabbat should’ve worked extra hard to convey the remaining story because the viewers had already seen the first half in the season which aired in 2011 so this time around, everyone was actually far more interested to see the remaining story but when they came to this part, they treated it like an after-thought which I believe was a wrong approach!

I completely understand that the writer had a bigger picture in mind & he was emphasizing on the love of the Creator but then again, seeing how they made whopping changes in the second half of the story where they changed the characters & the essence, I am left with a feeling that they could have brought Hammad & Sarah together too. I say this not because I am someone who always wants a happy ending, but I am saying this because it would’ve made so much of sense seeing how Hammad & Sarah shared the same ideology & were now at the same page in their lives where they both understood what the love of Allah is, so I think this message would’ve also resonated with so many viewers that two people, who struggled so much because of their religion & their identity were now at a position where their perspectives changed in such a way that they both could complement each other. Imaan never wanted Hammad to sacrifice his entire life for the sake of her love. So, if not completely in love with Sarah, out of sheer respect & for the sake of companionship, Hammad could have accepted Sarah’s love because even she knew that she would never be able to overcome Imaan’s love that Hammad had, but at least, she was ready to accept Hammad with his past that too with a lot of respect. I totally feel if the drama-makers had stayed true to the novel a 100%, then I would have never ever expected them to make these changes too but since they look the second half of the novel so lightly & didn’t really do justice to it, I totally believe that these changes could’ve been made as well!

Coming to this episode, it was all that I dreaded it to be, yes, it was dedicated to Isaac mostly where he was in search of his daughter who left his home because she was tired of his tyranny. Sarah made up her mind & she knew that she had to take a stand for her rights because now she was at such a stage in her life that she knew what the truth was & she detested all the lies that her father fed to her. Isaac was forced to step into the Masjid because he was pushed to that limit, but still he didn’t choose to change. I thought may be this will serve as an eye-opener to him but nothing of that sort happened. I am not too sure why every single time Hammad compared Isaac to Molvi Aleemuddin, not in the beginning but at least in this episode since he made up his mind that he wasn’t going to accept Sarah’s feelings, so to see him use the word ‘Mohabbat’ for this aspect didn’t really seem convincing & necessary. Yes, Hammad did have a valid point that it is not The Creator but the fake standards set by the society that makes the entire ‘Mohabbat’ difficult but then, this wasn’t the case of love that he was dealing with in comparison to the one he dealt with in the past.

Molvi Aleemuddin at least accepted Hammad’s feelings & regretted being so staunch but Isaac on the other hand stood by his decision that he was never going to accept Hammad, without even giving Hammad a chance to explain that he in the first place had no intention of bringing Sarah into his life. I am not too sure if Isaac redeemed himself because he just cried a bucket for the sake of his daughter but now that his daughter was back, he’d get on with his life & will get back to being his old unreasonable self. I am not sure that his one-liner in the end in Hammad’s praise was enough after series of negativity, bag checking, FBI trolling or his constant attempts of throwing Hammad out of the university. I really think if this is the ending that they had to meet in regards to Isaac’s character, then I am not sure if he deserved the coverage that he got all this while.

So, Sarah grasped all that she learnt from Hammad in such a short span of time. It was good to see that she took Hammad & Imaan’s personalities & their journey as an inspiration to get closer to The Almighty, because even in real life, you never know what it might take for someone to come to the right path. The thing that I’d definitely appreciate would be how they showed that even in such tough circumstances, Hammad never succumbed to the pressures & compromised on his demeanor because this is exactly what attracted Sarah towards him & then the religion that she believed taught him all of that. Hammad & Sarah’s last meeting was so beautiful & heart-breaking at the same time. Sarah still had some hope despite knowing Hammad’s answer but she never once put pressure on him & in stead only grew more respectful towards him. I think for me the best thing in these last 7 episodes would be Hammad & Sarah’s relationship, it was brilliantly executed & was the saving grace of the second half of the drama.

Now that the drama has ended, I think I will only take the first 16 episodes & then Hammad & Sarah’s friendship with me. I still feel the team lost the drive & the motivation they had when they were shooting the entire phase of the story which was set in Pakistan because when they came to the USA, it looked like they all turned their vacation mode on & didn’t really bother about the quality of the drama. I seriously feel if they had to give this treatment to the ending bits of the novel, they shouldn’t have promised the ‘complete story’ or they shouldn’t have made the first half just so perfect because they skyrocketed our hopes & when we entered the second phase of Hammad’s life, it just didn’t live up to the expectations because neither the situations, nor the characters were convincing. Honestly speaking, I feel quite cheated that they chose to tweak with the actual story because I feel it would’ve made so much more impact if they hadn’t made those changes because no matter what one says, I am not ever going to accept a Muslim Islamophobe that they showed in the form Isaac. Yes, I do accept the fact that Muslims can be judgmental & quite a a lot at that but to show a Muslim man just so petty that he would check the bag of a Muslim student just doesn’t make sense at all.

I wish in the second half of the drama, they had shown Hammad’s personality in a more detailed manner because one thing that I heard him say time & again was that it was because of him that people around him like Kamran, Behzaad & now Sarah were facing difficulties. They did show that Hammad was closer to The Almighty but then it would’ve made more sense if they hadn’t shown Hammad complaining about these trials because those who are firm on their faith accept everything as a test from Allah & never blame their luck for what people associated with them must be going through. Even in this episode, Hammad repeated the same thing when he was discussing about Sarah leaving her home. I think if he had only this much of confidence in himself, then Hammad shouldn’t have ever taken the responsibility of getting Sarah familiar with the actual message of Islam.

Anyways, now that the drama is over, I am reminded of the beauty that the first half offered, all the actors, characters & all the beautiful situations that made us connect to this drama on a whole new level. The actors who portrayed the characters of Imaan, Ghafoor, Shakir, Nighat, Haya, Najma, Siddique, Traveler, Abdullah & Kheru really elevated the level of the drama & each one of them contributed in the success of the drama. Rambo was phenomenal as Ghafoor. The actor who played the role of Shakir & Najma brought a lot of warmth in their scenes. The actor who played the role of a Traveler was another beautiful addition to the drama because even though his contribution was limited to a couple of conversations but those conversations changed the course of Hammad’s life. In the second half, the only characters that worked were of Behzaad Lucknowi & Sarah. Humayun Ashraf as Abdullah was quite convincing. The actor playing the role of Kamran did a decent job as Hammad’s best friend, who uplifted his mood when he was down & traveled all the way to Pakistan to bring his friend out of his misery. Hammad’s younger brother Ebaad had a little but decent contribution in the story as well. Firdous Jamal as Molvi Aleemuddin was so convincing that he actually made us detest that character. The eyesores in this drama were Isaac, Rebecca & Zeeshan & unfortunately, not only the characters but the actors were absolutely annoying.

Now coming to the stars of the show, Sadia Khan, Imran Abbas, Kubra Khan & Rambo, what phenomenal performances. Even though I have spoken about Rambo’s performance already but if I speak about the actors & the characters that are my favorites in this drama, Rambo/Ghafoor’s name definitely is in that list. Now coming to the rest of them, Sadia Khan surely improved & brought more charm in Imaan’s character this time around, she had so much of grace & elegance with which she portrayed Imaan’s character & that is why she made us fall in love with Imaan. Kubra Khan was phenomenal as Sarah, because she did the best she could in the circumstances where the rest of the scenarios were faltering. Kubra Khan is a find of our industry & that is why in such a short span of time, she has garnered so much of popularity. Imran Abbas; the man of the show definitely! It is because of Imran Abbas that I am sure a lot of people continued to watch this drama right till the last episode because other than that, after the 16th episode, this drama didn’t have much to offer. Imran Abbas was the perfect choice as Hammad in the previous version of Khuda Aur Mohabbat & in this one too because I firmly believe that there was no other actor who could’ve done justice to Hammad’s character the way Imran Abbas has done, where he made us cry & made our hearts ache with the pain that Hammad went through. My overall mixed feelings apart but yes, the team members deserve a lot of praises & appreciation for the hard work that they put in, especially in the making of the first half of the drama.

I want to thank all those awesome readers who stayed with me throughout this journey, appreciated the reviews & shared their agreements & disagreements in the most civilized manner. Thank you guys once again. Also, special thanks to Imran Abbas who in the initial stages of the drama personally responded to the feedback & the concerns that I would mention in my reviews. Thank you once again. Please share your thoughts about the last episode & the entire journey of Khuda Aur Mohabbat.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Khuda Mera Bhi Hai Episode 24 Review – Sadness Overloaded!

The only saving grace of this drama right now is its direction and steady performances by all the actors involved other than that the script has lost its direction completely and the slow pace is testing the patience of the viewers. While it was good to see Zain finally acknowledging his mistake and Arshi asking him to accept Noor, I am beyond sick and tired of watching writers rely on Cancer and heart attack over and over again for making characters have a change of heart or to make the viewers feel sorry for someone.

Honestly speaking Mahi’s character lost its charm a long time back but this had to be the final nail in the coffin! Mahi was shown as a strong woman who was more of an inspiration and an ideal, putting her in this situation goes to show that a strong woman does not deserve a happy ending! I am not talking about the disease but the fact that she might not get to live a happy life with Mikael and she will most probably die a “heroic” death gives all the wrong messages. This isn’t the first time in a Pakistani drama that a woman whose husband left her and she toiled hard to bring up her child ended up dead in the end! A woman like Mahi deserves much more than sympathy, she could have been shown as one of those rare women in our dramas who gets married to a good man and get over the useless husband who never deserved her in the first place and lives a fulfilling life. I hope I am wrong and Mahi does not die but Mahi’s dialogues certainly suggested that she will not survive. She might leave her legacy but she will not live to be happy!

Khuda Mera Bhi Hai Episode 24 Review - Sadness Overloaded!

The worst part of this drama right now is the overall feeling of impending doom which is part of every single episode and has completely taken over all the positivity. Also, it was really strange when Zahir did not share this tragic news with Sanam first and as if this was not enough this episode did not have a single scene which showed Sanam and Mahi talking about her disease! To be honest, right now I feel more for Mikael than anyone else! He is the real hero here and someone who deserves to be happy more than anyone else. I would also love to see Noor rejecting his father because it would be truly unfair if Zain is accepted by him immediately.

This episode was another one of those episodes which just make you wish that this drama would end soon! There were a lot of filler scenes, many emotional dialogues which failed to have an impact and a lot of rona dhona! Am I the only one who is bored of watching all these characters suffer for the longest time now! I have never watched so many unhappy people in a drama before. What the viewers need right now are some light moments without any rona dhona and an ending which would prove me wrong! I would love to see Mahi surviving in the end and leaving Zain’s memories behind and I also think that Zain should not be forgiven.

Am I the only one who feels for Mikael more than Mahi at this point? How many of you watched this episode? Don’t forget to share your thoughts about it.

Fawad Khan: I Am Not The Boss. I Am Just A Sidekick

There is no denying the fact that everyone loves Fawad Khan, be it Pakistanis or Indians. This charismatic individual has won hearts through his exceptionally good looks and talented acting and it’s always good to know more about him. In an email conversation with Khaleej Times, both Fawad and Sadaf gave a glimpse into their lives.

What inspired both of you to explore the field of designing?
Fawad: Sadaf’s drive and ambition. I wish I could be as creative as her when it comes to fashion, but that’s not the case. So I’ve resorted to being the sidekick in this operation.
Sadaf: With my son growing up and needing more time, I needed to pause a bit and get out of my corporate career to have flexibility in time and availability for him. Hence a natural path was made towards an entrepreneurial venture. Prior to this, I had worked with some huge corporates in Lahore, so I had the required experience as well as a business degree with a natural interest in fashion and design.

(On a lighter side) Who was the boss while working on this project?
Fawad: Wasn’t the first question (on the lighter side)? Oh. I just realised I was not supposed to answer that. She’s the boss. I’m just an Igor in this equation.
Sadaf: I take most of the decisions.

Are you both fashion conscious?
Fawad: Not really. I’m actually quite bipolar when it comes to dressing up. When I don’t feel like it, I won’t make the effort but when I do, I’ll spare no expenses to look my best, (which is obviously just my perspective).
Sadaf: I am conscious but I do not experiment much with what I’m not comfortable with as a person, no matter what the trends say. I feel it’s important to understand that things must not be worn or bought because they looked good on another person. One needs to understand that personal style is important.

Fawad, you are considered one of the hottest actors in the Subcontinent. How does that make you feel?
Fawad: I don’t hold myself in such high regard when it comes to the subject of hotness. But if you insist then I’m very flattered.

Who spoils the kids and who plays tough among you two?
Fawad:
I spoil the kids.
Sadaf: I have no choice but to be the bad cop.

Who are your fashion icons?
Fawad:
The black and white greats like Paul Newman, Steve McQueen, Alain Delon. The list just goes on. And one contemporary fashion guru that a friend and designer, Omar Farooq introduced me to, Lapo Elkann.
Sadaf: No one in particular. There are so many people who have an impeccable sense of style these days.

Did you guys always want to run your own business?
Fawad:
Not as a business per se. Sadaf has always had the passion for delving into the world of fashion and that’s what we followed while getting into this. If you look at everything from a business standpoint or try to start things out as that I feel things gets sterile. And that’s why we’ve taken things slow till now. The business for us has just started.

It’s a two-way romance
Sadaf: Fawad is an honest and very a sensitive person. But things like these establish and validate over the course of time in relationships, So I can’t say if that is what made me fall in love with him. But yes today, these would be the two qualities which exceed all else.
Fawad: She’s the most genuine at heart, unpretentious and charming girl I’ve ever met aside from the fact that I was head over heels for the colour of her skin and curls. She keeps her hair straight now. I keep telling her I’d like to see the curls again. An intelligent sense of humour, which btw many don’t know about, and a smart dress sense with an amazing scent she wears all the time. I could keep going on gushing about her, but I fear I might just say too much and then be on guard for the flies I draw in.

Fawad khan has loads of forthcoming projects
Fawad:
I’m currently working on a remake of an old Punjabi cult classic called Maula Jutt. Also, I’m making a production debut with a home production that I’m working on which I believe to be an old world romance but I’d like to keep the remaining details a surprise for later. Other than that there is a TV show which is at present in its nascent stage. Let’s hope it sees the light of day. To sum it up, hopefully, if things go according to plan there’ll be a barrage of material coming out in the coming year or so.

Actors Who Should Make A Comeback In Dramas

Pakistani dramas have always been adored by the audiences and what makes them worth the praise, are the actors who complete them. There are actors who work in the industry for many years, and there are those too, who only work for a short span of time but still manage to leave an impact on the audiences.

As one of the most competitive professions in the world, the acting world is insanely difficult to succeed in. And Pakistani drama industry is fully packed with amazing actors. However, there are many talented actors hardly seen in dramas anymore. While, some are waiting for a good script, the others are making it big in the films. Despite seeing many new actors on-screen, we still miss those who gave us some memorable performances.

So, here’s a list of actors who should make a comeback in dramas.

1) Fawad Khan

Actors Who Should Make A Comeback In Dramas

Fawad Khan is such a powerhouse of talent that he floors critics with every character he plays. He started his acting career in 2001 but rose to fame with Humsafar, in particular. His performance in Humsafar was not just applauded in Pakistan, but across the border as well. Fawad’s effortless acting connected us to every character he played. While he’ll be making a comeback with Bilal Lashari’s film this year; we still miss his presence on our TV screens because that magic is nowhere to be seen.

2) Sanam Baloch

Actors Who Should Make A Comeback In Dramas

Once a household name of drama industry, Sanam Baloch is not seen in dramas anymore. She began her career in 2008 and gave some strong performances in dramas like Durreshawar, Daam and Dastaan. Sanam’s versatility has ranked her among the best actresses of the drama industry because she managed to cast her magic on the audience every time she appeared on-screen. Her persona, beauty and above all, brilliant acting skills made her characters, the most memorable. Her natural acting and confident performance brought life to every character and I’m sure nobody would’ve been a better Bano in Dastaan.

3) Sanam Jung

Actors Who Should Make A Comeback In Dramas

The VJ turned actress, Sanam Jung’s career is on a pause because it’s been a while since she was seen on-screen. With just a few dramas to her credit, Sanam managed to build a niche for herself. Basically, she came and conquered it all but disappeared a while later. It is said that she’ll continue her career, but there’s no news of her comeback till now. Sanam played only a handful of characters, but owned every character assigned. Dil-e-Muztar and Alvida are among her best performances and she’s certainly missed.

4) Fahad Mustafa

Actors Who Should Make A Comeback In Dramas

Fahad Mustafa is riding high these days after the success of his film. To pursue his film career and focus more on his production house, the Actor In Law is currently on a break from dramas. Fahad’s 15 years long career can never be described in a few words because there’s a long list of remarkable performances given by him. He has proven his versatility with dramas like Mera Saein and Mein Abdul Qadir Hoon, where he left the audiences speechless with his flawless and unique performances. In short, he nails every character he’s assigned. There were times when his dramas failed to do well, but he still proved that he’s a fine actor.

5) Danish Taimoor

Actors Who Should Make A Comeback In Dramas

Danish Taimoor started off as a model and went on to become a popular actor. He started his acting career in 2005 and there’s no looking back since then. Danish’s confident acting and strong expressions helped him to get into the films. His notable dramas include chemistry, Thora Sa Asman, Meri Behn Maya and Aik Pal. The chocolate boy has already done 2 films and is geared up for four upcoming films. However, Danish’s film Tum Hi To Ho is an utter disappointment, but that’s probably a whole different debate.

6) Adeel Hussain

Actors Who Should Make A Comeback In Dramas

Adeel Hussain is one of the finest actors we have today, he proved his acting skills in dramas like Daam, Mata-e-Jaan and Mohabbat Subh Ka Sitara Hai. He started his career in the late 90’s, but rose to prominence after he nailed the character of Junaid in Daam. Adeel’s powerful acting has earned him a massive fan following.

“Pakistani Dramas Are More Real And Relatable”, Says Indian Actor Sara Khan

0

During the tense relationship between India and Pakistan which affected the entertainment industry a lot, Sara Khan is one such Indian actress who did not hesitate to come here to shoot for her drama, Laiken.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BRTq-hKjaBC/

She made her Pakistani drama debut with Bay Khudhi. While speaking to The Express Tribune, she said:

“The reason I decided to come to Pakistan was because of the strong content in Pakistani television.”
She further added:
“Indian television is quite well-developed. There is a tonne of content and people are more professional, whereas Pakistani television is still growing. But I love the content on Pakistani TV.
While talking about the major difference between Indian and Pakistani dramas, she said:
“They are more real and relatable. And then, another aspect I enjoy here is that they end on time. It takes about a month or so to finish a spell for a drama here whereas in India, they just go on forever. So, in Pakistan, the shorter duration keeps it fresh and an actor can move to another project.”

Upon being asked that which Pakistani celebrity she would like to see in the Indian reality TV show Big Boss, she said:

“Pakistanis can’t come to India yet. But I’m sure the situation will be better in no time. And then, I would love to see my Bay Khudi co-star Noor Hassan in Big Boss. He’s such a funny, crazy and fun-loving guy! And he’s always calm, so it would be funny to see him lose his temper in Big Boss.”

Rahat’s voice won’t be featured in upcoming Indian movie ‘Maatr’

0

The producers of Raveena Tandon’s film Maatr have confirmed that Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan won’t be appearing in a special music video as planned earlier, reports India Today.

The producer of the film, Anjum Rizvi told reporters, “It would’ve been ideal if we could, but unfortunately at this stage, it’s not happening.”

The filmmakers will now be featuring Raveena’s scene from the film in the music video instead of Rahat’s.

However, speaking at the trailer launch of Maatr, the actress shared that she feels art and culture should not face restrictions.

“As far as I am concerned, I feel art, culture, music have no boundaries. Music is something which flows from within, has no walls, you can’t conceal it. Once the sound, musical notes are out you can’t control it.”

On the other hand, music composer Vipin Patwa fought to keep Rahat’s track ‘Rog Jaane’ for Akshara Haasan’s upcoming film, Laali Ki Shadi Mein Laddoo Deewana while the makers wanted to drop the song to avoid controversy.

Speaking to Mid-Day, Vipin revealed, “I thought replacing his voice would be disrespectful. I managed to convince the makers to retain his version. [There would be room for controversy] if we had recorded the number post September [after the Uri attacks].”

When contacted, the film’s producer, TP Aggarwal, admitted they wanted to “play safe”.

“We didn’t want to offend anyone. The song is amazing, right from the composition, to the lyrics, and then there is the brilliance of Rahat saab’s voice.”

However, Rahat has collaborated with  Sonu Nigam for Vidya Balan’s Partition movie, Begam Jaan.*

Titlee Episode 11 – Hania Amir Steals The Show

0

This episode of Titlee once again showed how Naila’s mother constant support gave her even more confidence to continue doing what was clearly very wrong. Instead of finding a way out of the situation, Naila’s mother made excuses for her multiple times. I must say that even after all these weeks Hania Amir continues to give a brilliant performance and Naila’s character is still as interesting as it was in the first episode. Even though there isn’t anything positive about her character but she is clearly someone who the viewers would love to hate! I also love the way the writer has shown just how selfish and manipulative Naila is. She fought with her sister and later on regretted it only because she had no one to leave her daughter with. She asked Ahmed to come and give her money even though she cannot stand to be around him! Naila knows all about her rights but it is almost as if she has no clue that she has some responsibilities too. She lives in her own world in which everyone should do everything according to her wishes and thanks to her mother so far she has managed to get away with a lot. Saba Faisal is fast becoming one of my favorite actresses not only because of her perfect performances but also because of the fact that she chooses to play different roles and nails them every single time. She is very convincing as the mother who is constantly covering up for her daughter without thinking what effect it could have on her personality or her married life. Just like Hania Amir, this roles doesn’t really go along with Saba Faisal’s graceful personality but she manages to pull it off almost effortlessly. Hania Amir makes you hate Naila’s character by bringing all her negative traits to life on screen through her convincing performance, even though she has a cute and innocent face.

Titlee Episode 11 - Hania Amir Steals The Show

I absolutely loved the change in Zara’s personality and the manner in which she interacted with her bajjo in this episode. After asking her mother repeatedly to talk to Naila, she finally decided that she needed to put her foot down. Everything she said to Naila was right on point and Naila’s reaction to it was also completely in line with her personality. Shahmeen Khan is a confident actress who knows exactly what is expected from her. I would love to see her in more meaty roles in the future because she has tons of talent. One of the main reasons why I look forward to and enjoy watching this drama is that all the characters make perfect sense. There is a good reason why all of them react in a certain manner. Ahmed is slowly getting tired of putting up with Naila’s tantrums and it was actually good to hear him suggesting that he should talk to Naila’s father. His parents however are just too sharif. Ali Abbas is also a very talented actor who is constantly experimenting not only with his roles but also his looks. The episode ended with Ahmed finally telling Naila’s brother that she was the one who wanted to live in a separate house and the preview of the next episode suggested that Ahmed might be thinking about leaving Naila.

Am I the only one who finds Amir and his wife terribly annoying? How many of you are still enjoying watching this play? Don’t forget to share your thoughts about this episode.

“Udaari was a great but very, very tough experience for me because of the script,” shares Ahsan Khan

Ahsan Khan is one such actor who managed to win over the audiences even as a negative character. He has proved his mettle in Pakistan’s drama industry with various acting trysts and is all set to be seen in two upcoming films, Chupan Chupai and Rehbraa but we still miss him as Pa Imtiaz.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, Ahsan said “Udaari was a great but very, very tough experience for me because of the script. When I first read it, I just knew it was going to be something special and the story just needed to be told. I worked very hard for my character; I wanted to make sure that the message of the serial reached everyone, that the taboos around it are broken. Udaari became a game changer of our industry because no one else had done anything like it.”

“I kept telling our director Mohammed Ehteshamuddin to tone down the aggression. I had never seen such things in my life so it became even harder to get into character, especially for the molestation scenes.”

“I’ve always wanted to be an actor. I was always fond of acting, dancing, singing and performing in general. As a child, I watched many films, acted in school plays and even in front of the mirror. It’s been quite a journey. I’ve learned a lot from my mistakes and struggles,” he added.

“I make sure Ahsan Khan is original. I’ve worked with the best and the worst directors, which has shaped me as an individual. Acting is not just performing your lines; it’s a test of patience,” he said. “It improves your learning skills.”

When asked about his upcoming films, Ahsan replied, “Chupan Chupai is a satire about unemployment and how today, youngsters deal with it is. The cast includes Javed Sheikh, Sakina Sumo and Neelum Munir. As for Rehbraa, we’ve got Ayesha Omar and Ghulam Mohiuddin too. Both films are very interesting and entertaining.”

“I actually turned down four major film offers recently, as I had committed to TV already. I believe that television is our forte; no Pakistani actor should neglect it. We have a great niche market for our dramas, both locally and abroad,” he stated. “I, for one, could never abandon a medium which brought me so much respects and success.”

A post shared by Ahsan Khan (@khanahsanofficial) on

“Up until now, Lollywood was like a regional film industry, rather than mainstream Pakistani cinema. Syed Noor and Shoaib Mansoor kept it alive but there were very few Urdu films being produced then,”
he said.

He also feels it is unfair to compare Lollywood with the Indian film industry, with there being a major disparity between both. “Bollywood has government support and phenomenal revenue. The entire budget for one Pakistani film is what India spends on just one film song! Here in Pakistan, we are doing things on our own, trying to provide entertainment with limited resources and without external support or formal training schools, etc. What we lack are good scripts. Our films should not look like TV serials.”

At the FPW lunch with my real life heroine :)))

A post shared by Ahsan Khan (@khanahsanofficial) on

Ahsan has been approached by producers from Bollywood as well. “I had been meeting with some directors but then things started heating up on the political front. I think I’d still consider going there if the project is good and allows me to maintain my dignity as a Pakistani actor. If not, I have plenty of great work, love and success in Pakistan already.”

Celebrities Spotted At Punjab Nahi Jaungi’s Wrap-up Party

A romantic comedy, the film features Humayun Saeed alongside Actor In-law actress Mehwish Hayat in the lead roles, while Urwa Hocane and Ahmed Ali Butt will be seen playing pivotal roles.

The cast of the film wrapped up the shooting earlier this month, and recently, Humayun Saeed threw a wrap-up party. Here’s a sneak peek into Punjab Nahi Jaungi’s wrap-up party.

Indo-Pak singers come together for the partition song ‘Aazaadiyan’ in ‘Begum Jaan’

0

Vidya Balan’s upcoming film Begum Jaan tells the story of brothel owner in a story of survival, set against the backdrop of partition.

The movie brings back composer Anu Malik who after much persuasion roped in Asha Bhosle for the song Prem Mein Tohre in the movie.
The Baadshah composer recently worked with Sonu Nigam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan for the partition song, titled Azaadiyan.
“While the song makes you nostalgic about the Anu-Sonu combination, it’s also very close to my heart as a partition song sung by two of the most remarkable voices from India and Pakistan.” the director Srijit Mukherji, reports Times Of India.

Previously, it was reported that despite the ‘ban’, Bollywood’s veteran director Mahesh Bhatt is all set to bring Pakistani artistes back to India.

According to a report in DNA, Mahesh approached Ali Zafar and offered him a song on the theme of cross-border peace. The Channosinger reportedly agreed ‘enthusiastically’.

After Ali, Mahesh talked to Fuzon’s former lead-man, Shafqat Amanat Ali, and he too, readily agreed.

Begum Jaan releases on April 14 and is produced by Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt’s Vishesh Films.

Noman Ijaz and Sawera Nadeem’s next drama will talk about men’s midlife crisis

0

Noman Ijaz is known for doing intense roles which are very well received by the audience.

His upcoming drama called Daagh is direct by Zeeshan Khan which also stars Sawera Nadeem and the theme is midlife crisis.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BQjp1TUjGs2/?tagged=saweranadeem

“The purpose of the drama is to make families realise that a midlife crisis is not a medical disorder but a psychological and behavioral observation that commonly occurs among individuals between the ages 40 and 60,” the director shared with Images.

“Symptoms differ in a diverse manner for each individual. While some individuals may experience feelings of depression, remorse, and anxiety, others may experience feelings such as the desire to achieve youthfulness or make drastic changes to their current lifestyle or atmosphere.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/BMWXiYZgLvd/

The drama also aims to highlight:

“how to judge the behavioral changes that men go through while experiencing a midlife crisis. It can help the partners or families to figure out if someone in the fold is going through this. Like if someone suddenly starts making impetuous decisions, changes in personal lifestyle or appearance, feeling overly nostalgic are just some highlighted changes that can help identify a midlife crisis,” reveals Khan.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BJDDjHrjxlk/

The director has mentioned that drama will focus on  men going through a midlife crisis and there is no mention of women. It will only be revealed once the drama air.

Upcoming Drama, Ilteja will talk about raising children with physical disabilities

Pakistani dramas have come a long way. We have moved a little away from the same old theme of family politics. With dramas like Udaari and Khuda Mera Bhi Hai which talked about child sexual abuse and raising intersex children respectively, Pakistani dramas are now breaking stereotypes.

Adding to the list of such dramas now is the upcoming drama called Ilteja which will explore the theme of parents raising children with physical disabilities in a Pakistani society.

Nazr e Bad Episode 19 & 20 Review – Still Going Strong!

Ohkay so, like all the previous episodes of Nazr e Bad, these two episodes were convincing & interesting too. It is commendable that even after so many weeks have passed, this drama still has something new to offer every time. I can’t emphasize enough on the fact that the amount of research that has gone into this project is praise worthy. Even though this story has all those ingredients which these days drama-makers resort to in order to grab the ratings but when it comes to Nazr e Bad, the team has used these things to serve a bigger purpose, which is to inform & educate people about the lengths people can go to in order to harm others.

So, just after Maham lost her baby, she wasn’t in her senses anymore. Aftab tried really hard to bring himself to start afresh but seems like Maham wasn’t in her right state of mind, obviously, losing baby was one reason but the main reason was Parvez’s continuous attempts of drifting Maham & Aftab apart. It was actually quite shocking to see Salma using this entire episode to torture Maham further but even though Maham would’ve never done anything of that sort in normal circumstances, she finally decided to stand up for herself. Even though what Maham did was so unlike her but at that moment I felt Salma deserved it, for all the things she has said to Maham all this while & for everything that she put Maham through.

I must say, the way they have shown that it only takes 1 envious soul or only 1 enemy to rip everything apart is eye-opening & shocking at the same thing. Even though Almas is responsible for how she has raised Parvez with so much of negativity & so many complexes but at this stage, Parvez is the real culprit, the actual enemy who has ruined so many lives & has broken a couple of marriages too. The way the drama-makers have covered the entire aspect of how it all started to where it has come to is mind-blowing because no one can deny this reality & I believe so many people can actually relate to the things that are being shown in Nazr e Bad.

So, Parvez knew that he had to give a final blow to Aftab & Maham’s marriage & he decided to turn Aftab into an addict because then Parvez knew that he wouldn’t even have to do anything as Aftab under the influence of intoxication will do the rest. Parvez hit the bulls-eye with this move because Aftab ended up divorcing Maham. It was actually sad to see Aftab turning into such a weak man who ended up succumbing to the pressures & decided to call everything quits. This is another brilliant aspect which has been covered that only a few people are able to take so much of pressure & emerge victorious out of it whereas the rest of them only end up following the lead & lose everything that they have!

Aneesa thinks she has hit the jackpot now that she has found a guy like Parvez who can help her with her business. It didn’t even take a second for Parvez to plant a seed of doubt in Aneesa’s mind against her husband. Even though Aneesa is the one who makes decisions independently but drifting her apart from her husband would benefit Parvez even more because in the future, Aneesa won’t have anyone who’d speak to her against Parvez, may be this was the main reason why he chose to confirm her doubts that she had regarding her husband.

So, now that Maham is divorced, Parvez thinks no one can stop him from getting married to her. I must say the scene in which Parvez goes to the Masjid was executed so well & was probably my favorite scene from the entire episode. It was so obvious that just because Parvez has gone way ahead in this dark path, he was unable to cope up with the energies present in the Masjid & because of that, his heart wasn’t at peace. Parvez was also left speechless when he was asked about his earnings, like even though Parvez has a conscience but just because he has blinded himself in the pursuit of achieving what he wants through black magic, he has no other choice than to just ignore the voice at the back of his head that is telling him that he is wrong.

Another thing that they revealed was about the magicians being unable to have an offspring of their own. This was the detail that they covered in the initial episodes where they showed that Shamsi Chacha didn’t have a child of his own & even his adoptive son wasn’t mentally & physically stable. Parvez actually thought that apart from Maham, he wouldn’t need anything but just the thought of not having a child did shake Parvez a bit. I think it is quite intelligent of the writer & the director where after showing series of mishaps that Parvez has instigated, they are now hinting on the fact that Parvez’s conscience isn’t allowing him to be completely peaceful or satisfied. Initially, Parvez was only focused on bringing Maham into his life that he didn’t really bother about the heavy price that he’d have to pay but every now & then all those thoughts are creeping into his mind where he is forced to think about the things Shamsi warned him about.

Overall, I had a great time watching these two episodes. Another scenario that made a lot of sense was that Nusrat finally got to be at her home because Shafeeq not only left but gave the ownership of the house to Nusrat too so that at least she can have a roof over her head. Now that Maham is divorced, I think it was quite intelligently shown that just in the nick of time, Nusrat got the ownership of the house so that at least she along with Maham & her son Baber can live in the home which belonged to her. At this stage I am not too sure about Aneesa’s track & I wish she doesn’t get a lot of coverage in the episodes to come. Also, I really think it’s about time for Nusrat & Maham to solve the puzzle & find out about the real culprit who is responsible of ruining their lives. I can’t wait for that to happen. I must say, so far each & every single actor has done a commendable job but this week, Sara Khan took the crown for portraying Maham’s anger to perfection, like Sara Khan made sure all the viewers understood what Maham was going through & how she was not herself anymore because of all the things that she endured, it was phenomenally done by Sara Khan. I can’t wait for the next set of episodes already. Please share your thoughts about these two episodes of Nazr e Bad.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

The Indian adaptation of the Mukherji’s Bengali film Rajkahini, shows the backdrop of the India-Pakistan Partition. According to Times of India, the film will not be released in Pakistan because it highlights the country in a negative light.

The Producer of the film, Mahesh Bhatt has even reportedly written to the Pakistan government to allow the release of the film. However, he has yet to receive their reply and approval.

It definitely seems like that Begun Jaan just like Mahira Khan’s Raees won’t be making it to Pakistani cinemas and others like Neerja and Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB2. It is also being said that the tense relationships between Indi and Pakistan is also a reason for the film not getting its official April 14 release in Pakistan.

Chalay Thay Saath’s First Song ‘Pariyaan’ Touches The Heart

Chalay Thay Saath is all set to release on the 21st of April and we can’t wait to watch the film since it promises to be a journey of love and friendship. The makers of Chalay Thay Saath released the first song Pariyaan, and we have helplessly fallen in love with the track.

The video song shows friendship and also highlights the relationship between Resham (Syra Shehroze) and Adam (Kent S. Leung).

Sung by Shahab Hussain, and written by Shahab Hussain and Zeeshan Lalani, the beautiful melody is not to be missed.

The highlight of the song is the exquisite video which is shot in scenic locations like Hunza, making it a visual treat. Judging from the song, seems like the film is going to be high on emotions.
