Aasmanon Pay Likha Episode 17 – ‘I have married a crazy woman!’

0

There were a lot of surprising revelations in the episode this week which gave us more insight into what is going on in Aaliyan’s mind. Most of us had thought that Aaliyan had moved forward in life and Qudsiya holds no importance in his life anymore, but it was revealed in this episode that she had always stayed somewhere in the corner of his mind.

He still thinks that looking after Qudsiya and her family is his responsibility, and that is why he sent his man to check up on them only to find that they have shifted to some other place. He also admitted that he had stayed back at Qudsiya’s house not because his car broke down, but because he wanted to stay there, and he had also offered Qudsiya to stay back but she herself refused. He admitted this to Dudi who couldn’t help but raise her eyebrows after hearing this. I sometimes feel that Dudi knows that he feels strongly for Qudsiya, but she also knows that there is no point of telling him this. He needs to realize his feelings himself; he needs to sort out his feelings for both Natasha and Qudsiya and she cannot help him in this.

apl 3

The irony of the situation was that he was not upset about the fact that he and Natasha had such a huge fight, but he was worried for Qudsiya and her family because he did not know about their whereabouts. A part of Aaliyan wanted Qudsiya to stay back with him when he gave her the choice.

‘Qudsiya Bohat Ajeeb Larki Hai, Itna Bhi Ego Acha Nahi Hota’

His dialogues clearly showed that he was disappointed when she refused his offer. But then she was also right in her place. Why would she want to stay with someone who will eventually marry someone else? She also knew very well that she will never get her true status in Aaliyan’s house.

apl 1

Natasha’s screeching continued in this episode too, and this time she went to Qudsiya’s house to give her a piece of her mind, only to find that she had shifted. Then started the huge fight, and as usual all blame went on Aaliyan. He was accused this time of shifting Qudsiya into a new apartment. ‘I have married a crazy woman’ dialogue was one of the best one in the episode! Aaliyan is seriously getting more and more irritated by her each passing day, and it wouldn’t take long for him now to distance himself from her.

apl 2

I had predicted that Shahnawaz and Qudsiya will bond and that is exactly what happened. Shahnawaz opened up to her and they both found comfort level with each other. Qudsiya, however, chose to remain tight lipped about her past. I was expecting some chemistry between Shahnawaz and Qudsiya but there was none. Emad Irfani’s weak dialogue delivery just killed the whole scene for me! He really needs to work on his monotonous dialogue delivery; it lacks emotions and his face lacks expressions.

apl 4

Shamsa is getting more and more impatient to meet her son, and she reached Sultan’s doorstep once again only to get turned away. I really wish that Dudi would tell Aaliyan the truth about his mother. It is obvious that she wants to but something is stopping her from revealing the truth. Aaliyan really needs to know the truth about her mother! Maybe this is how he will end up meeting Qudsiya once again?

I hope the story moves forward quickly and we get to see Aaliyan and Qudsiya together! Shamsa is planning to get Shahnawaz and Qudsiya married but it is obvious that this is not going to happen.

Do share your opinion about the episode!

Till Next Week!

Sannata – Beginning of New Phase

0

By far,Sannata has been the most difficult show to review; Not because,it is a third grade show but it is a masterpiece and I always fall short of words while praising it.Though, I know its plot still my predictions fail almost all the time whenever fresh episode of Sannata broadcasts. Rukayya felt helpless when she came to know that deep inside she loves Azam same way as Azam feels for her.She knew that they are living in a society where decision of elders is of prime importance; Her thought of getting married to a man who is much younger than her made her uncomfortable to fully enjoy the feeling and as soon as Azam confirmed that he wants to marry her, so many questions arose in her head. How will everyone react to the news ? How will she live without Pari even if she gets married to Azam ? Will Pari be able to accept her marriage? Will Azam be able to take responsibility of Pari same way as she did?

4

With so many questions in her mind, she decided to let Azam go out of her life as it seems almost impossible for her to get married to Azam.On the other side, Azam was clear with his thoughts and was all set to get married to Rukayya. He knew that he will have to convince his parents by hook or by crook and for that he adopted the way with which his parents won’t be able to say “NO” to him, afterall he knew week points of his father.

3

Turning out into evil, he exploited his parents to the best .I know, his personality is completely opposite to his father. Unlike his father, he cannot bare to see others suffering because of him while he is living a luxurious life.Right from his childhood he knew that his father is not giving the part of wealth what Aapa Bi deserves and keeping her in dark, he is using her part of wealth too and forcing them to live in world of miseries and strive for even basic necessities of life. Not only Aapa Bi, but Azam’s father bluffed many poor people and is still living happily. How can Azam tolerate that? With all that in his mind, the outburst came as his reaction.

5

Halfheartedly, Azam’s father visited Aapi Bi for official proposal of Rukayya and Azam’s wedding. Being loved and pampered throughout her life,Pari felt left out as soon as she got to know that her Rukayya Aapa will be leaving her soon. She felt as if she was betrayed by Rukayya and from time to time, she reacted. Sometimes, it took the form of jealousy that arose in her mind after watching Azam and Rukayya together and sometimes,it was her feeling of loneliness that kept on haunting her that apart from Rukayya, no one loves her and if Rukayya will leave her,she will be dead.

2

Rukayya statement that she is regretting after getting ready to get married to him, broke Azam from inside. On the other side, Pari also showed unwillingness to come to her dear Aapa’s wedding. Rukayya felt as if she is stranded between the two of them. Neither Azam, nor Pari seemed happy from her- obviously for their own reasons. Her big day turned out even more disastrous when Pari came out wearing bridal costume simply because its her mind that was forcing her think of herself as Rukayya.

Rukayya was apple of everyone’s eye right from her childhood and being with her all the time and not loved by others headed Pari in no other direction but in feeling of sheer inferiority complex. She always wanted herself to be like Rukayya because she is the loved one.For that, she always assumed herself as if she is Rukayya and her assumption started shouting out loud soon after Rukayya got married.

end

Lagta hai mujh mai woh baat nahi hai, shayed iss lyai dulhan ban kar bhi mai apko nahi samjha paa rahi houn..agar mai bhi wesi hoti tou aap ko mujh se itni shikayatain na hoti..

I loved how Azam’s harshness transformed into showing his longing for Rukayya.Rukayya was wrong that Pari’s mind is still that of a child and she doesnot feel anything – not even feeling of being a girl. Pari takes herself as Rukayya, so she thinks of Azam as her property too. She thinks that its her who got married to Azam and not Rukayya – Rukayya is Pari in her mind. Pari, assuming herself as Rukayya, turned out same way as newly wedded girl acts and its becoming unbearable for Azam to cope up with the situation.

1

Sajjal Ali is at her best in Sannata even I hated her this week but thats how you feel when someone gets into the character, actually.Danish Taimoor seems a bit too loud at times but again its in the line of his job and requirement of the role.Saba is looking perfect and I appreciate how she gave special attention to her costumes in all phases of her life that are shown.I wonder what would be the ratings of this show if iDream team paid more heed in Sannata’s promotion. Story is interesting, direction is perfect, full marks to whole cast and brilliant piece of artwork. What else a show needs to be at top?

Shauqi’s story will be reviewed with next week’s episode as its already getting so long.. :p

Aseer Zadi Episode 19-21 – Review

0

From the past three episodes, the story is revolving around Shahab’s dilemma about what to believe about Maira. He has the highest regard for his father and he believes every single word that comes out of his mouth, and he did the same this time. Shahab did have some doubts in his mind about the accusations put on Maira, but he was completely convinced when he saw Maira and Bilal together.

Maira was unaware of the accusations made on her, and she got the biggest shock of her life when she returned to the haveli and heard this news about herself. It took no time for her to go and question Shahab, but she was thoroughly disappointed by his distrust in her. He was completely convinced that she was guilty and Maira wanted to prove him wrong at all cost, not because she wanted to go back to him, but to make him eat his words.

The irony of the situation is that she thought that this was Badi Sarkar’s plan when in real, Peer Jalal was behind this master plan. She accused Badi Sarkar of spreading false information about her and even misbehaved with her. She was expecting Peer Jalal to save her this time too, but she was in for a bigger shock when she got to know that Peer Jalal was the one who had put the accusations on her. She was hoping for his support in this situation, but she was again disappointed.

What surprised me, or to be more precise shocked me the most was Maira’s father’s conviction in her innocence. When Peer Jalal accused Maira, he did not bow down to Peer Jalal and blamed Maira like he usually does. He stood tall, looked him in the eye, and told him that he was lying and Maira can never do such a thing. I seriously felt like clapping in this scene! Brilliant performance by both the actors!

Badi Sarkar has changed and the change is so drastic that it just gets a bit unbelievable at times. Her ego has been shattered completely, and now she realizes how cruel she has been to every single person in the haveli. She even wants to give Amna her true place as the real Badi Sarkar in the haveli. This was quite a shock for me!

She was a wrong judge of peopl and seeing the real face of her brother and his family made her realize this. The scene where she shows Sikander his place was a superb scene! Her guilty conscience wants to correct her wrong doings and this time she is not against, but with Maira.

She tried her best to convince Shahab of Maira’s innocence. She did not reveal about Amna being the real Badi Sarkar maybe because she did not want Shahab to know what his father had done to her, but she did admit that she had put false accusations on Maira about Bilal. Even then Shahab was not completely convinced about Maira’s innocence. She even tried her best to convince Peer Jalal to tell the truth to Shahab and let go off the family’s fake karamat, but to no avail.  She then decided to take things into her own hands.

Badi Sarkar resorted to her last option, she knew that no DNA reports would convince Shahab of Maira’s innocence and the only way to defeat Peer Jalal would be to make Maira swear in the mazaar which is considered a holy place by both Shahab and Peer Jalal. Her plan worked and Shahab finally believed in Maira’s innocence and Peer Jalal was left defeated.

Shahab might be convinced now, but Maira simply does not want to keep any relation with him after the accusations that he had put on her. Maira is completely right in her place; she has every right to be furious with Shahab for not believing her.

Noor Hassan and Ainnie Jafferi were simply superb in all their scenes. Noor Hassan has really grown as an actor, his expressions and dialogue delivery both are spot on. Ainnie Jafferi is a very talented actress and now she is showing her true potential! I simply loved her performance in this show. Do I even need to say what a brilliant actress Sania Saeed is? Her name is enough. Period.

The show has two more episodes left as far as I know! Technically, the next episode should have been the last one, but I wonder why they are dragging the serial now that the truth has been revealed?

Do share your opinion about the episode! I would love to hear them!

Pakistan Idol Week 6 – Piano Round 01!

0

So, I am totally impressed by the beginning of a Piano round. I like how they have divided the groups for singing & fetching the votes because people can easily remember who to vote for if people are less. So, 8 out of 4 in this week will qualify for the last i-e the gala round.

I must say Bushra Ansari needs to carry herself according to her age. A little ponytail isn’t helping her at all & on the other hand, over the top hairstyles of Hadiqa Kiyani are coming across as disastrous fashion statement. Ali Azmat is safe from all the hairstyles so yeah, no experimenting from his side. While Bushra Ansari was in her flow of over-the-top conversation I couldn’t help but pick the new terminology she uttered & that was 24 carat diamond. As far as I know, gold has the highest range of 24 carat & the biggest diamond is that of 14 carat. May be she had a lot going on in her mind, hence, the mistake!

Anyways, I loved the beginning of the show where all the 8 contestants sang Pakistani songs of Ali Azmat & Hadiqa Kiyani. To see how they have totally changed the appearances of the girls, it didn’t take me by surprise that Nazish was made to leave the show because yeah, a Muhajjaba (the one who wears hijab) wasn’t suitable for such a glam-clad stage.

I was happy to listen to Pakistani songs but a few contestants sang Indian songs, once again defeating the purpose of PAKISTAN IDOL. I hope the contestants make intelligent choices because they are the reps of Pakistan Idol. All the 8 contestants performed really well today & it was also good to know their backgrounds which didn’t have much emotional quotient & it just focused on the celebratory moments all the contestants shared with their friends & family.

The list of those who performed today is as follows:

Fizza Javed (FJ) sang Reshma’s ‘Lambi Judai’. She did her bit well but I think she should’ve gotten some sort of pointers from the judges as well. They just praised & didn’t tell where she made mistakes. It was a decent attempt by her but I think she could’ve done better. Fizza’s mother ain’t supporting her but she strives to earn her support. I think it was something which could’ve been ignored but the contestants feel like sharing their personal space with the viewers so it’s totally cool.

Waqas Ali Vicky (WV) who is a celebrity within himself sang ‘Haath Se Haath Kya Gaya’ sung by Sonu Nigham for a Pakistani movie. I think he nailed it completely. No doubt the feedback he got from the judges was something that he deserved. Waqas Ali Vicky comes from Miyan Chunnu, a small town but still the response he got was overwhelming. I hope he makes it to the top 3 as he is really good.

Waqas Ehsin (WE) of Islamabad sang Shafqat Amanat Ali’s ‘Ankhon Ke Sagar’. I think he could’ve done better & for the same reason he got some comments from the judges which suggested him to improve. Even though he was older to many contestants, his singing had a lot of space for improvement but yes his voice was really nice.

Abdul Ahad Khan (AA) from Karachi sang Aaroh’s ‘Na Kaho’. It was a decent attempt by him but nothing too impressive. The judges didn’t seem to be convinced but neither did they criticise him. He was good but not extra-ordinary.

Rosemary (RM) sang Lata’s ‘Bahon Mai Chalay Ao’. I think she slowed down the pace of the song a little too much. Even though the song is slow but it has a little mischievous touch to it, she sang appropriately but ignored the essence of the song making it look like a normal melody. She got a huge round of applause & some amazing remarks from the judges. I still wish she qualifies.

Syed Sajjid Abbas (AA) sang Ustaad Amanat Ali’s ‘Aa Mere Pyaar Ki Khushbu’. He was brilliant but like Ali Azmat said, he wasn’t audible when he sang with the music. When he sang without the band on Bushra Ansari’s demand, he was just effortlessly amazing.

Waqas Ali (WA) of Rawalpindi sang Kishor Kumar’s ‘Ek Hasina Thi’. He was just perfect & the experience he has in this field was pretty evident in his singing. Hadiqa Kiyani said Kishor’s songs are hard to perform whereas Kishor Kumar is the only singer who can be easily copied & followed. Ali Zafar is another living example of someone who takes it quite obviously after Kishor Kumar. Ali Azmat’s comments seemed justified this time.

Midhat Hidayat (MH) sang Lata’s old hindi classic ‘Lag Ja Galay’. She was good at it too & seems like she has full support of Ali Azmat because he is totally impressed by her voice & yes he has all the reasons to be impressed because considering her age, she is really good.

So, these were the people who performed today. Seems like voting lines are opened till Saturday 12AM PST. Who are you guys voting for?

I wish Waqas Ali Vicky, Rosemary, Syed Sajjid Abbas & Waqas Ali qualify for the next round. Midhat Hidayat was great too so I think it would be a tough competition between Rosemary & Midhat Hidayat. But undoubtedly my favorite from tonight’s episode is Waqas Ali Vicky.

So let’s wait to see the results on Sunday!

Cheers,

Pakistani Dramas take the Arab World by storm – ZGH to be dubbed in Arabic now!

0

Pakistani dramas are finally getting the worldwide recognition which they deserved. The hardwork of Pakistani producers and actors are finally paying off and their work is getting appreciated by worldwide audiences.

There are a lot of Asian foreign viewers all over the world especially in places like America, India, UAE and Canada who appreciate the Pakistani content and give them preference over other content that is aired because of its unique stories and brilliant acting.

The drama that gained recognition for Pakistani dramas worldwide is the show Humsafar. A medium budgeted serial which managed to touch the hearts of people worldwide because of its simple story, brilliant acting and high production values. It gave Pakistani dramas International recognition and a platform for Pakistani producers to prove themselves. Before Humsafar, only the drama serial ‘Tanhaiyaan’ had reached the Arabic audiences when it aired back in the 1990’s.

Humsafar has been a remarkable piece of entertainment and was also enjoyed by the Indian audiences when it went on air on the Indian channel, Rishtey. According to BizAsia, Humsafar managed to break a record for Rishtey for being the first non-film/event to attract such a huge rating at the weekend.

The serial Humsafar was dubbed into Arabic and was recently aired on MCB- Bollywood (a middle-east channel) with the name Rafeeq-Al-Rooh which means Soulmate in Arabic. It took no time for the show to gain immense popularity and after a few episodes, it became the most watched serial on the channel and was declared a huge hit. Previously, Pakistani dramas were not recognized much in the Arabic world because Arab’s already have so much variety to choose from, but now Pakistani dramas have also entered the Arab market and has carved a niche for itself. This is a moment of sheer joy for all of us Pakistanis!

Here are a few comments on the show on MBC Twitter page:

humsafar arabic

The next drama to follow Humsafar on the same channel was Malaal which had Faisal Rehman, Sarwat Gillani, Imran Abbas and Deepti as the main leads which was again appreciated by audiences.

After the success of Humsafar on the channel, Fawad Khan has become a phenomenon in the Arab world on a grand scale. Here are a few comments posted by his fan on his MBC profile on twitter:

fawad twitterfawad arabuc

The latest news is that on high demand another one of his serial, Zindagi Gulzar Hai is going on air on the same channel. Zindagi Gulzar Hai is another hit serial of Pakistan which had Fawad Afzal Khan and Sanam Saeed as the main leads. It has already created waves in Pakistani, now let’s see if it will gain the same response in the Middle East. Zindagi Gulzar Hai will also dubbed into Arabic just like Humsafar. Here is the Arabic promo of the show:

We hope that many other Pakistani serials air for the audiences in Middle East in the future too!

Kabhi Kabhi – Episode 17!

0

Token of advice for watching Kabhi Kabhi: Keep your friends close & Whatsapp closer. Yeah, this is exactly how I got through this & a few previous episodes of this drama.

I am glad Rehbar went against his father in law & went out of his house, at least it was something productive that he did since the drama has begun which was to walk on that staircase & never return back, in stead of hovering around like a zombie. I am glad he also took the useless Eva with him & I’d be more than happy if she doesn’t show up wearing a neon colored lipstick & pants again because it was a waste of any actor playing a side role.

I think the writer wants to surprise us all at the end of the drama by letting us know that Eeshal didn’t get divorced as she was pregnant but aan aan, too bad, we already know of the suspense. Obviously, that’s the only way they both will get back together because divorce never took place & they will find out from some Molvi sahab, which is obviously something they weren’t themselves aware of.

Finally, Arez was out of the sights for a few moments & it was a good break for me at least to not see an egoistic person like him on the screen. Now when he found his life getting back on track he walked an extra mile to give pointers to Eeshal for how she must take care of the baby ALI? I am guessing they both hurried in everything right – in getting married, in getting divorced & even in giving their unborn baby a name too? A bit too hard to digest I guess!

Eeshal’s father after having Sunny hover around her tells her to not shop because she ain’t over with the Idat & Eeshal testifies she comes back home by the time of Maghrib – A THIGH SLAPPER MOMENT. I never knew Iddat’s duration started off after Maghrib till Fajr!?!?! I am actually laughing at the newest of new Islamic concepts our learned writers are coming up with. Anyways, the main reason of the shopping sequence was to show Eeshal’s khala swoop in out of nowhere & tell her the details of her wedding that she didn’t know of.

Now when Eeshal found out about how her wedding took place, I recalled at how a normal wedding takes place too & that is by having guests & so many Khandaani Aunties hovering around the bride, praising her by telling how beautiful she looks. Eeshal who happens to be the INTELLIGENT one out of the two daughters, couldn’t crack that mystery herself for why no one came to meet her? Why even Eva didn’t come to see her off? Glad during all this while when her life is crashing down, she found a faarigh businessman Sunny who is even taking her for the baby shopping which calls for a EEEEUUUU moment. Who goes for a baby shopping with a male cousin? I mean…really? Is it a new trend in Pakistan these days?

I am still wondering how does the title Kabhi Kabhi fit the drama & the story? Kabhi Kabhi shadi ho jati hai? Kabhi kabhi bacha ho jata hai? Kabhi kabhi talaq ho jati hai jo k hoti nahi? Kabhi kabhi cousin chipak jata hai? Kabhi kabhi wapis mil jatay hain? Really, is this what it says? Really trying to find out.

Cheers,

Mohabbat Subha Ka Sitara Hai – Episode 5

0

So, Nabeel is all set to marry the “girl of his dreams”, I know that most of the viewers here find Romaissa’s character annoying. Yes she is Allah mian ki gayee to the core but I actually enjoyed Romaissa and Nabeel’s scenes. I found the jokes and Romaissa’s excuses to decline the lunch/iftar invitations funny. Mikaal is far better in comic scenes than he is in serious ones. In the more serious scenes, like the one in which he tells his parents about Romaissa, he sounds exactly the way he does in commercials. That tone of voice works for short commercials but sounds very artificial in dramas.

m3
Nabeel’s outings with Nayab were probably shown to reinforce the flirtatious aspect of his personality but even then I found those scenes too long and mostly uninteresting. These scenes could have confused the viewers for a short while about Nabeel’s state of mind regarding who he is really interested in but given the fact that most people already know what is going to happen, trying to create such confusion couldn’t possibly hold the attention of most of the viewers. Aalia’s interest in Nabeel does not come as a surprise at all. Aalia’s obsession with easy load and phones is being given more attention than it should have been given and her conversation with Nabeel on the phone was a little too long. But that does not change my opinion about Mansha Pasha’s acting; I think she has breathed life into a character which is very different from what she has done till now. One of the reasons why her character stands out more than that of Romaissa’s is also because of her powerful portrayal.

m5
I must admit that if I sit down to think with a rational mind then there isn’t anything about Nabeel and Romaissa’s character or even portrayal that is appealing but their interactions with each other are light moments that are fun to watch. There is no depth whatsoever in the story till now but then that is how most of Umera Ahmed’s serials start. I remember thinking the same way about Mirat-ul-Uroos and Kankar. But unlike most of Umera Ahmed plays none of the leading characters is standing out till now.

m2

I couldn’t help but feel that there was something missing in the scene in which Nabeel tells his parents about Romaissa. His parents’ reaction was not surprising but the acting by all the actors in that particular scene was so unimpressive that it just looked like a lot of talking and no emotions whatsoever. I hope there is a good reason why the viewers are being shown how each member of Nabeel’s family feels about everything in that house because I find the scenes in Nabeel’s house in particular very monotonous and boring. There was enough of Nabeel in tonight’s episode therefore the scenes in which almost every character was talking about Nabeel seemed forced. In other words because of these scenes there was an overdose of introduction to Nabeel yet again.

In my opinion, this drama could have been far better if whatever happened in these five episodes was covered in three and if our main leads could act better. I am a huge fan of Sanam Jung and Mikaal Zulfiqar too but they have failed to impress me with their acting in this play. Sanam Jung could have added more life to her character and Mikaal’s dialogue delivery in the serious scenes has not really been remarkable. In my opinion, there should have been more of Zeeshan in these episodes than rest of Nabeel’s family. Firstly because Zeeshan is the only person Nabeel has a normal relationship with and secondly because it is always a pleasure to watch Adeel Hussein on screen. The relationship between Nabeel’s parents looks a little too similar to that of the relationship of many of the other couples in Umera Ahmed’s plays; the disagreements definitely give you the “been there done that” feeling. Overall, this was an okay episode which gives you something to look forward to.

I am waiting to see Zeeshan’s reaction in the next episode because he didn’t look very impressed with Nabeel’s choice!

Shehzad Rafique on his new venture

0

In the light of countless lives that were lost in the war against terror, it seems like an obvious choice for Shehzad Rafique to make a film that pays tribute to the young ones relentlessly fighting on the frontline.

“I had been searching for a script to follow-up Ishq Khuda. I was divided over the idea of making a comedy or an action film, but a politician’s statement made the choice very easy for me,” explained Rafique.

“I just couldn’t understand how he [Munawar Hassan] could make such a careless statement about the armed forces fighting on the frontline,” he added.

The film Salute will not be an ISPR-funded project. In fact, it will be Rafique’s attempt to explore the questions of morality surrounding extremism, and will give thorough insight into the journey of an individual from a man to a martyr. Film is an important medium that can be used to challenge extremist ideologies surrounding war on terror, and, more importantly, religious intolerance.

“This film will not be made on an agenda in terms of funding. It’s sort of a tribute to the journey of a young man and the challenges he faces on his way to becoming an army officer,” said Rafique.

“Till now, every film I have made always tries to address a broader question. I am over 40, I don’t feel the need to make a fun film. My target is to make an issue-based film that is serious.”

Even in an earlier movie, Rafique touched upon a sensitive topic. His previous film Ishq Khuda aimed to challenge the notion of extremist ideologies by addressing the idea of true love and spirituality. It also openly challenged rigidity and the fundamentalism that has flourished on a societal level.

Salute is currently being scripted by writer Tariq Ismail. He is hoping to cast Ahsan Khan in the lead role, with Nadeem Baig and Atiqa Odho as part of the cast, depending on availability. He will shoot major portions of the film at military academies as he feels that it is time to move beyond the methods of formula filmmaking. “The things that have to stand out in every film are emotions and sentiments. This is the only formula that matters. The rest is your story, your characters, and your topics,” said Rafique.
It is worth mentioning that Rafique is planning on giving young directors a platform under his production banner. He said that he plans on grooming his assistant directors for feature films and would be launching them in the near future.

When Assistant Director Hasnat Afridi was asked to give some insight on this upcoming movie Salute, he said, “This is not your typical story on the armed forces. Whatever I have seen of the script is very original, because it gets into the details of how one man becomes an army officer and the hurdles he comes across.”

He said that the film is not necessarily about the armed forces, but focuses primarily on patriotism and an officer’s life. Afridi disclosed that the film would be shot in Swat and Karachi and have some scenes shot in America, as well, since there is a parallel storyline set there.

“We are planning a lot of interesting things for the film. The main point is that the story will focus on the officer himself and there will be an element of patriotism. We are also planning on including a large production team, so that we can introduce more young people to the film industry,” said Afridi.

Rubaru – Episode 02!

0

Another week of a decent episode. I am sure it will get a lot more interesting than it may seem for now because Surmed is for sure some unusual character what we haven’t seen in a while. I am glad that they are shifting a whole chunk of negative limelight from the females & letting us know that men have some of those aspects hidden in them too.

I never thought that Shabbi would actually get engaged to that guy. Obviously it was a mismatch but to see her Naani actually agreeing for the proposal was something hard to digest. At one point Naani wants everything perfect for Shabbi but how come she agreed for a guy of certain age for her young grand-daughter, it wasn’t that Shabbi’s biological clock was ticking or she wasn’t getting any suitable proposals? This was the very first proposal they got & to agree to it in haste was unreal. Anyhow, it was meant to be broken & I am glad it happened.

Is it just me or Kiran is actually annoying? I don’t get that a calm & decent guy like Tipu is actually tolerating a snobbish girl like her. Well, like they say ‘love is blind & so are the lovers’, yeah I think they’re re-living that proverb. I think they didn’t need to show Kiran as a villain just in order to establish the fact that Shabbi is ‘bholi bhali’. It could’ve been conveyed without making her cousin Kiran a complete evil. I guess the writers don’t want to work on each & every character independently so to support the positivity of their main character, they come up with side characters of opposite nature, which at times seems uncalled for. I mean what has Kiran faced in her life to be so insecure or jealous? Yeah, their grandmother has always compared Shabbi & Kiran but that doesn’t mean that Kiran has to be snotty in reaction to that.

Well, bad for Shabbi that Surmed showed such extent of interest in her that anyone would’ve been moved by his sincerity. His eagerness & yearning along with contant pleas followed by promising assurance, I am sure anyone would’ve fallen for it & sadly, they all did. I thought for a guy without any family or mother figure on his head, he definitely knew a lot more when it came to mooching. He earned their trust by sending all those gifts which a guy on his own wouldn’t know of but I am sure he had done his homework keenly.

Obviously their very first post-wedding moments together were a shocker – for Shabbi & for all of us. Poor girl has to endure what she doesn’t deserve & what she ain’t entitled to. Surmed’s pills shed a light on a whole new chapter which I am sure will be developed in coming episodes so for this I am not jumping to any assumptions. I hope to see a bit lesser of Naani because I am ashamed to admit, she is annoying. I don’t know why but yeah. So, let’s wait for the next episode to find out Shabbi’s reaction.

Cheers,

Pakistan Entertainment Industry in 2013

0

As 2013 has come to an end and it is a new beginning of a new year, while searching for a topic to write on I decided to highlight the major changes our entertainment industry went through. Some of the changes were very positive and brought a huge positive impact on our industry and some were totally negative. I will highlight the major ones and there impact on the industry. In 2013 the Pakistan Entertainment industry kept getting bigger and better, people returned back and started investing again in the cinemas and theatres. Many ventures took place and many of them changed the entire structure of the industry.

download
The biggest change or we can say the biggest comeback of the Pakistani cinema was with the film Waar. This film was the result of a three year hard work and it smashed many records at the local box office. The dialogues, the action and most of all the acting of the Pakistani actors need to be appreciated. This film is not only popular in Pakistan but it also had its launching in Dubai and other major countries. Bilal Lashari the director of the film plans to make many other films like Waar and give a new face to the Pakistani Cinema. We need new talent to work in the field of entertainment and media in Pakistan because this is the only way to revive the industry.

According to me the revival of the theatre also took place in 2013 with the wonderful plays of Anwar Maqsood. He took a start from Pawnay Chauda August and it sequel Sawa Chauda August. Both of these plays were popular in a huge number of audiences. They were shown in many of the major cities of Pakistan including Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. Aangan Terha and Half playt were the other plays that also became famous. His work is timeless and this is why he is very popular among the people of Pakistan. People like Anwar Maqsood are the living legends of Pakistan. They are the people who are an inspiration for the youth and we have a lot to learn from them.

Coming to the music in 2013, a program named Lahooti live sessions started. This was a platform that gave a totally new dimension to folk music. Saif Samejo, accompanied by young volunteers from Sind, started preserving the sounds of Sindhi folk without any form of sponsorship. The quality of the music produced as a result of this venture speaks volumes of the service this will prove to be for cultural preservation. In my opinion programs and platforms like these must be encouraged because this is the only and easy way to preserve and show our culture to the outside world.

Zinda_Bhaag
In the year 2013, Pakistan formed its very own National Oscar Committee which consisted of seasoned academics and artists. This committee was headed by Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy. This committee had to face a huge criticism but still it didn’t lose hope and this is what made it successful. It made the film named Zinda Bhaag which was Pakistan’s second ever entry to the foreign film oscar race after the gap of 50 years.

Collage
More over Hamza Ali Abbasi turned out to be the most promising actor after his excellent roles in Main Hoon Shahid Afridi and Waar, while Aamina Sheikh was definitely the female star of the big screen. She offered memorable performances in both Lamha and Josh. This year, she also introduced Youmatter, a smart phone application aimed at raising Breast Cancer awareness. Apart from this, Zoe Viccaji turned up as one of the most hardworking female singers in Pakistan, because she has consciously worked on her shortcomings as a vocalist and her intent to improve with each offering reflects in her songs. She is undoubtedly the voice of the year, a voice that was heard in every jingle, some catchy OSTs and brilliant solo tracks. She was all over the billboards for Cornetto Music Icons and Coke Studio.

These were some of the major new happenings in the entertainment industry of Pakistan in 2013 and we are hoping anxiously to make a bigger and a better start with this New Year. Let us all join hands and make a promise that we will contribute whatever we can to work as for the nation and this will be our new year’s resolution. If every individual take an initiative, our country will never be backward. So lets make a new start, shine a light and send it on.

Saving Shoes From The Winter

0

With the winter increasing rapidly, our lips get dry, hair get static and most of all noses get red. In all this our shoes also start getting damaged. Winter’s harsh elements, wear leather shoes out. Salt stains emerge after a few heavy snows and ugly cracks form after weeks of damp weather. However, that can easily be prevented. This winter, we can save our soles by using these simple steps for wintertime shoe maintenance. This article is to solve the shoe problems of the readers. As shoes are a very important part of ones personality and people have to change their shoes regularly in winters, this article will be helpful for everybody. In winters, the shoes that are used are made of leather, fur or mostly or suede. It is easy to clean and preserve these shoes by using some simple household things.

leather-boots-salt-stains-lemon
Starting off with the salt stains on the leather boots, white vinegar is the solution for this. Many people use this trick to solve the problem by mixing white vinegar with water and applying it on the shoe with a cotton ball or a cloth. Once you find the stains vanishing then rub it with a dry cloth and repeat the process if needed. Many other ways are also used to remove the salt stains from leather shoes, which include; a good shoe polishing and using salt stain removal products. If you have other techniques as well then please share with us through your suggestions. Now coming to the hunter boots, rubber boots like these develop a bloom that resembles the salt stains but it is a naturally occurring phenomenon. Olive oil when applied on this can help keep the boots safe. Apart from this warm soapy water must be used to clean these sorts of boots regularly to keep them safe from the winter.

Step21
Sometimes there are cases in which dirt gets stuck in the suede shoes. Most of the time we don’t clean shoes more often this is what creates problems and makes the shoe look worn out. In this case there are products such as suede eraser or suede bars they can be used to erase the stains and blemishes from the suede shoes. Other alternate of this is a white rubber eraser; it can do the trick as well. Just use it gently but first it is necessary to test on a small area to see whether the eraser is causing any harm or not. This is because sometimes an eraser can cause discoloration as well so you should be careful for that. Apart from this a suede brush can also help is removing mud and stains. It restores the nap of the suede and it can also help to remove any parts of the debris left after using the eraser. If a brush can not be used, try using a baby wipe for cleaning after the usage of the eraser or a small amount of detergent can be mixed with water to remove the dirt and give the final touch.

1733652_fpx
Sometimes the shoes that have fur as their part are often seen becoming rough and the fur becomes tangled and dirty. The answer of this problem is none other than corn meal. It is corn meal not corn starch. They are two completely different things so be careful. Corn meal basically absorbs the dirt and oil that gradually builds up on the fur. You will have to put the shoes in a brown paper bag or any sort of sealable thing that is big enough to fit the shoes, then add a cup or maybe two of corn meal and seal the bag and shake it well. Let the shoes stay as it is for an hour and then take them out and use a brush to remove the residues of corn meal. This will clean all the dirt which is stuck in the fur. Now coming to the issue of the fur heading off in different directions and looking messy, all you have to do is use a slicker brush which is actually used for the dogs and cats. It will allow you to comb the fur and make it look as good as new.

These are some of the issues with there remedies which are easy to adopt and good in showing results. I will suggest all the readers to take help from this article, follow the instructions and make your shoes safe and clean during the winters. If you have some other ways to solve the winter problems of shoes then do let me know by giving you precious and valuable comments in the comment section.

1000th Episode of Bolain Kya Baat Hai

0

I am not much of a cricket fan but there is little option left when you have cricket freak brothers who are entitled to keep you informed even when you don’t want to know anything. But yesterday was an exception, I got hooked to the show my brother was watching namely Bolain Kya Baat Hai. It was the 1000th anniversary celebration of the show (those who watch it will know that Shoaib Akther and Mohammad Yousuf are part of it as analysts), so yesterday Shoaib Akhtar was given the responsibility to host the program.

They talked or Shoib Akthar talked (since M.Yousuf usually contributed with 2-3 syllables :P) about their experiences, the fun they had, shared some personals etc. Some of the senior like Saqlan Mushtaq, Azhar Mehmood, Moin Khan participated through live calls. Their laughter and lighthearted talk was worth watching and thoroughly entertaining especially for the cricket fans. They shared their little secrets for the first time on screen for example who had worst dressing in the team :P, Waqar Younus, Saqlan Mushtaq, Shoaib Akhtar and Azhar Mehmood were declared worst dressed and Waseem Akram and Inzimam ul Haq best and decently dressed Pakistani cricketers by unanimous decision of Shoaib Akhtar and M. Yousuf. Waqar Younus was praised more by Shoiab Akhtar than the others though, he said “Me ne Waqar se bohat kuch seekha hai per us jesi dressing nai seekh saka…red shirt, yellow pants aur white shoes”. Since Shoaib Akhtar was hosting he did most of the talking, forcing M. Yousuf to participate (half of Shoaib Akhtar’s comments were directed towards him) and the actual host only participated through his uncontrollable booming laughter. M. Yousuf; a tightwad, Shoaib Akhter’s bullying of M. Yousuf in the beginning of his career (lol he made Yousuf iron his clothes on their first international tour together) and Shoaib Akhtar’s own aggressive behavior, his partying and kind of self-obsession which made him oblivious of all of his teammates and international players as well were among the topics they discussed but in a very light mood and amusing way.

ys

Bolain Kya Baat Hai throughout its journey of 1000 episodes has done a lot for the minimal Pakistani cricket. The program inaugurated with Moin Khan, Rashid Lateef and Iqbal Mirza who are main pillars of this program that has supported not only the older batch of cricketers, they supported the current batch and the youngsters as well, aided both Moin Khan and Rashid Lateef in establishing their academies (by broadcasting their matches) of cricket which are providing a platform for novices.

The 1000th anniversary celebration was a treat to watch, Shaoib Akhter’s spontaneous and witty comments complemented with M. Yousuf’s smiles and rare comments kept me grinning constantly. Unfortunately I couldn’t watch the whole program because of WAPDA’s meherbani, and it isn’t available online yet.

Ishq Mein Tere – Episode 07!

0

So this week the focal point was Shehryar Hamdani’s marriage. I am surprised that how a simple story can be executed so nicely. Every character is etched out perfectly & even the one who is in the negative limelight is not evil to such an extent where she is leaving the Satan behind. All the characters are nicely thought of to make them relatable.

Aiza was just being Aiza but Sheheryar Hamdani couldn’t resist her charisma & charm. She is a pleasant person to be with & I don’t blame him to actually fall for her. She is a bit too mature for her age & for that reason Sheheryar found himself opening up in front of her. He could talk about so much to Aiza that he never found himself doing previously with anyone. Even though Cuckoo has tried really hard to get herself noticed but for him, she is just a friendly cousin with whom he shares a healthy equation with.

Saad is all alone in UK trying to get healthy but I find it a bit unreal that all this while he has succeeded in hiding his disease. Plus chemotherapy has months of breaks in between the respective sessions so how can he get away from all his responsibilities just under the name of a vacation. Even though they have not shown how much time has passed but definitely if he gets clean of the disease within a month, it would be a little detail which wasn’t tackled properly.

Saad’s friend sounded a bit confused to me today because he was the one who compelled him to get better but now what he said wasn’t making any sense for sure. I think he also spoiled Saad’s suspense of surprising his mother by telling her about the lady love. In the meanwhile, Cuckoo has tried really hard to make an impression on Sheheryar that she is single & ready to mingle with him but Sheheryar is too pre-occupied with Aiza in his thoughts that poor Cuckoo’s moves are being unnoticed.

Saad’s mother dreads that Sheheryar might get married to Cuckoo but he has his own pick & she is Aiza. I think Aiza would definitely be reluctant because she never gave him those signals as she was just being courteously cordial with him considering how generous & accommodating they have been when it came to her professional life but she couldn’t control the feelings of men around her at the office, be it Saad or now even Shehryar. I think her brother will get into some deep trouble & for that reason she might agree to get married to him. Let’s see what happens next as I am definitely watching out for more.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Do you know Meera is Nikkahfied ?

0

Meera’s career with the Pakistani media industry has been riddled with controversy. She gained fame with a TV commercial back in 1994, and since then has moved on to act in over 200 films. Besides Lollywood, Meera has also worked in several Bollywood films as well.

Lollywood star Meera caused a stir when a marriage certificate obtained by the media revealed the actor has been married to Pakistani-American airline captain Naveed Pervaiz for over two months now

Meera had announced her engagement with Captain Naveed, but did not mention a wedding.

There are rumors that the marriage certificate has been made public and revealed to many TV news channels. The marriage certificate identifies the groom as “Naveed Perveez” and the bride as “Irtaza Rubab” (understood to be Meera’s real name).

According to the document, Naveed was born in 1978 and Meera on Dec 12 in 1977, which makes her 37 years old.

Rumours of the couple’s possible marriage first began circulating in February 2012, when Meera’s family reportedly accepted Naveed’s proposal

The groom’s family said the plan was to hold off public announcement of the wedding until 2014, when both parties would host a proper wedding ceremony complete with festivities.

The bride, however, denied news of the ‘nikkah‘ released today, and told that she was completely focused on her hospital for now.

Meera has said in the past that people are intent on maligning her unnecessarily to disturb and distract her from her efforts for building a charity, which is intended to provide free cardio services to the impoverished people of Haroonabad.

Mere Humrahi Episode 22 and 23 – The Finale

0

This show finally reached its end this week! The overall show was not bad at all, if only they had not dragged it so much. They could have easily showed everything in 15 fast paced episodes instead of the original 23. The USP of the show was Ahmed and Haaniyah’s brilliant chemistry and the phases their relationship went through was a roller coaster ride for all of us.

The moment Ahmed got to know the truth; he immediately went to Haaniyah and apologized. Sometimes your instincts are telling you the truth but the circumstances are such that you choose to believe what is before your eyes instead of what is in your heart. Ahmed did the same thing and now he was guilty and his conscience had a huge burden. But Haaniyah was not ready to forgive him so easily as she could not forget the fact that he did not trust her. On top of that, she considered Ahmed and his family the murderers of her father.

She made up her mind and asked for Ahsan’s support in her decision to give divorce to Ahmed. Ahmed, who was already shattered after getting to know the truth, was devastated when Ahsan gave him the papers. But he was not ready to leave Haaniyah at any cost.

The last episode was a complete drag fest. One person after the other was trying to convince Haaniyah to go back to Ahmed. Haaniyah’s mother was disappointed and upset with her because she decided to take such a huge step without even telling her. Humeira knew that Haaniyah’s father would have never wanted her house to break like this, especially when Ahmed and his family had apologized for their behavior.

photo 4(12)

Even after what Haaniyah’s mother-in-law had done to her, she still visited her when she was in the hospital. She apologized and tried to make Haaniyah agree to come back to their house but to no avail. The next person who tried to convince Haaniyah was none other than Ahad and if this was not enough Samina also tried to convince Haaniyah to go back. Haaniyah finally went back when her father-in-law came to take her back. So what was the point of dragging the track for the whole episode? Couldn’t they have sent Haaniyah’s father-in-law in the first place?

Ahad finally realized his mistake when his father came to him and tried to make him realize his fault, not by getting angry at him for a change, but by sitting with him and patiently trying to make him understand. I wish he had done that a long time back! Maybe if he was not this harsh with him and tried to explain him everything patiently instead of scolding him all the time, Ahad could have turned out to be a different person.

photo 2(15)

The emotional reunion between Ahmed and Haaniyah was one of the best scenes of the episode. The only scene worth looking forward too actually! Ahmed’s thought he was dreaming when he saw Haaniyah standing before him. Fahad Mustafa and Soniya Hussain both were absolutely brilliant in this scene!

Just when I thought the serial was over and finally we got to see a happy ending, Ahad just had to create more drama. Ahad had decided to leave the house because Ahmed and Haaniyah had still not forgiven him. He actually gave her the status of ‘Bhabhi’, and everybody was shocked to hear the words coming out of his mouth. His father and mother had forgiven him when he sincerely apologized to them and finally Haaniyah also forgave him. The dramatic ‘Rukh Jao Ahad’ dialogue said by Haaniyah was pretty filmy. Then of course, Ahmed also forgave him and we saw a full family re-union! I personally wish she had not forgiven him, and he had gone away from their lives forever. He totally deserved it!

photo 3(11)

Shehzaad Sheikh’s monotonous expression throughout the serial was a huge turnoff! He seriously needs to work on his expressions. Fahad Mustafa was the highlight of the show and Soniya Hussain was also pretty good. She overacts a bit at times, but overall her performance was praiseworthy. A good show, but I just wish they had not dragged it so much! The direction was superb, and yes I simply loved all the beautiful dresses Haaniyah wore throughout the serial.

So what are your views of the last episode and the overall show?

I would love to hear them!

Ranjish Hi Sahi – Episode 11

0

What an unexpected turn of events and the thing that was even more surprising for me was that the promo of this episode gave away this twist. I was very convinced that Yumna was not going to die, firstly because she is the main lead and secondly because I wasn’t expecting the promo of this episode to be so revealing. The episode opened with Hiba and Tooba having a heart to heart discussion about Tooba’s break up which basically centered around the importance their mother had in their lives. I must say that I have come to that point now where I find Hiba’s character least likeable. Tooba, on the other hand is always more levelheaded and likeable.

rhs2

Yumna’s confrontation with Kamal was a direct result of everything that Rohail said to her about his father. Even though Yumna told Kamal Hassan that she wanted this relationship to end but she turned to him instantly after getting the dreaded call from her lawyer. Yumna’s state of mind was portrayed brilliantly, I must say that I am going to miss her character and can’t help but wonder how the story will unfold without her now. Hiba won’t let Kamal Hassan into their lives because she holds him responsible for her mother’s death.

Faisal Rehman was outstanding in the funeral scene. The way Kamal confessed that this was his wife’s funeral was rather ironic and tragic. He did not have the guts to admit this fact in front of others when Yumna was alive.

rhs4

It was great to see Arsal taking a stand in front of his mother. I really did not want this track to end like this, so it is good to know that Arsal will stay in the picture. Arsal’s mother continued to judge Kamal and his relationship with Yumna even at her funeral! Tooba and Arsal’s scene was very nicely done. I like Tooba’s new found confidence, it gives her character the spark it needed to hold the interest of the viewers. She told Arsal off for now but it is highly likely that she may change her mind in the future. Sana Javed and Muhammad Ali look cute together but if Tooba does get married to Arsal, his mother will not let her live in peace which may turn this drama into another sob story of a girl who is treated unjustly by her in laws and I definitely would not want that to happen. Until now the story of RHS has been very intriguing and the direction has been very impressive as well so I have very high hopes from it.

This definitely was the sort of episode that makes you look forward to more. I am going to miss Samiya Mumtaz; she has a unique style of acting and she did so well as Yumna. Everything about tonight’s episode was spot on but the funeral scene was too long for my liking. Kamal’s short scene at the funeral was more moving than the focus on Hiba’s reaction initially. Quite surprisingly I felt for Kamal more than Tooba and Hiba tonight.

Will Kamal Hassan manage to change Hiba’s opinion about him? How will these girls survive without their mother now? I am waiting to find out.

People go to astrologers and palmists to see what will there life and destiny be when there is another way to know about yourself. The eye colour of every person tells his or her full personality and only people who can read faces can understand it. This has now become a trend. How to have a Happy Relationship

0

Nowadays people do not value there relationships. Breakups and conflicts are becoming a trend in Pakistan and also in other countries. Many of my friends face problems in there relationships. There are many causes for this; the difference in mind sets, a busy routine, lack of understanding and a lot more. Every couple has their own problems and their own ways to solve the problems. In this article I will highlight some of the ways through which a relationship can be made healthy, happy and long lasting. This article is for people who are having a commitment and also for those who are looking forward to be committed in the upcoming years.

download

In a relationship it is necessary that you must know what you and your partner want for yourself and from the relationship. In easy terms if the girl wants trust and care from the relationship she must tell the boy before getting into a relationship and if the boy wants space and fun then he must also tell the girl before they take any step forward. In this way both of the people will be careful and they will give what each of them demands which will result in a lesser number of conflicts. Apart from this each of the people in a couple must know that not everyone is perfect and that not all needs are fulfilled. There will be times when your partner will not fulfill your need because of some problem then you must be able to understand him or her. A person only gets to know the feelings of the other person when he sees himself in the shoes of the other person. This is why for a relationship it is necessary to understand the needs of each other.

secrets-of-happy-relationships_heas-_0

Both of the people must be ready to compromise on things to save the relationship. If you know that your partner does not like your late night socializing, then you must have the courage to stop or minimize late night socializing for the sake of your partner’s happiness. In this way he will also give up things for you. A relationship is not only about one sided compromise or sacrifice, it is about two sided compromise. Both of the partners must learn to be happy in other’s happiness only then they will have a perfect and happy relationship. Moreover you must work hard to accept the differences between you and your partner. The same is for him or her as well. Do not demand from him to change to meet your requirements because love is unconditional and you must love him the way he is. Changing him will only make him uncomfortable so it is important to stay happy with the differences of opinion. Remember that opposites attract.

key-to-happy-relationship

Do not agree with one another all the time but do not be rude enough to criticize your partner again and again. Respect his opinions, views and thoughts and try to interlink you own thoughts with his thoughts. More criticizing and interrupting habit will make you look like a teacher which is not suitable. You must learn to be your partner’s friend and then try to solve problems between both of you. Seeking professional help or involving the third party between your personal problems is not a good idea. It just increases the conflict. Try to solve your problems yourself and do not show to others that you had a fight. Trust is a basic brick of every relationship. Try to trust your partner. You must be confident enough that your partner is all yours otherwise people will take advantage of your habit of not trusting your partner. It will be better if you do not give any other person a chance to create problems in your relationship.

lasting_relationships-300x199

No matter how many years have passed and no matter how old your relationship is, do not forget to compliment your partner. Adopt ways to appreciate him and show him that your love for him has grown in these years. Same goes for men as well, they must also learn to propose there wives very often. This creates a happy feeling and kind of refreshes a relationship. Simple lines like I love you and I trust you or I am always there for you can create a magic in your relationship. Taking her out for dinner and giving her flowers can brighten up her life and she will get a positive energy to love you once again. Adopting these little ways can make your relationship a healthy, happy and a long lasting one. Give your suggestions below as they are appreciated.

Aasmanon Pay Likha Episode 16 – Review

0

I know most of us were thinking or to be more precise ‘wishing’ that Aaliyan would not marry Natasha. But well, he did and I was pretty disappointed (I am sure I am not the only one). Qudsiya was a bit upset after reading the news in the magazine, but I am really glad that she is trying to get over Aaliyan and moving on in her life. I know most of us want Aaliyan and Qudsiya together, but Aaliyan just does not deserve someone like Qudsiya. I am glad that Natasha is giving her a hard time; at least he will come to his senses and realize Qudsiya’s importance.

Qudsiya’s chachi is the most intolerable and annoying character in the show, but for the first time, she did something good. Aaliyan and Chachi’s airport encounter was hilarious! The ‘khushkharbri’ and ‘chand sa beta’ dialogues cracked me up big time. She did it purposely in front of Natasha to teach Aaliyan a lesson for leaving Qudsiya. I guess most people hated this scene, but I was really happy.

Natasha created the biggest fuss over the ‘chand sa beta’ and well, she just makes me laugh now. Usually I just mute her scenes (her screeching can make anyone deaf), but this time I loved the fact that she was making Aaliyan’s life miserable. I loved his clueless expressions when he said ‘kis ka beta kaha ka beta’.

On one hand, Natasha cannot bear to see Aaliyan’s face and on the other hand, she just does not want to let go of him. She really needs to decide already! Aaliyan is slowly realizing what a huge mistake he made by marrying her. Aaliyan was expecting a Qudsiya in the form of Natasha; an obedient, loving and caring wife who waits up for him at dinner! Sorry to disappoint you Aaliyan, but that is not going to happen EVER! The next big bomb Natasha threw on Aaliyan was her decision to do modelling without his consent. Aaliyan should have been prepared for this, he knows Natasha from such a long time!

Emad Irfani’s acting improved somewhat in this episode. I loved the scene where Aaliyan and Shahnawaz met and they sort of bonded. I am still really confused about Shahnawaz and Shamsa’s relationship though. As far as I know Shamsa seems like his elder sister which makes him Aaliyan’s maamu. Correct me if I am wrong!

A little more was revealed about Shahnawaz’s past, he had loved his wife Sara who died at childbirth. A sad story indeed! I have this feeling that Qudsiya and Shahnawaz will become good friends (or maybe he will fall for her); he had already revealed how caring he is in this episode. He knew just by looking at Qudsiya that something was wrong with her.

Shamsa wants desperately to meet Aaliyan, but I do not understand one thing, why now? After so many years, she realized that her life is incomplete without her son. She should have taken a step a long time back. Aaliyan is under the perception that his mother left him for some other man, and he simply hates her. Dudi knows the truth, and she tried her best to convince Sultan to let Shamsa meet Aaliyan, but to no avail. Now the question is, will she help Shamsa and tell Aaliyan about her? Or will Aaliyan meet her through Qudsiya?

Natasha’s doubts on Aaliyan will keep on getting stronger and she will make Aaliyan’s life even more miserable in the upcoming episodes. Aaliyan will try to reach Qudsiya to help her and her family, and unfortunately Natasha will get to know about this. Then of course, we will once again see a huge scene created by her and not to forget her screeching voice!

I just hope the story moves forward already, and we get to see less of Natasha and more of Aaliyan and Qudsiya!

A sincere apology to all readers, I have been inactive for the past few weeks which explain my late reviews, but from this week onwards I will post the reviews earlier!

Pyarai Afzal – The Game begins now..

0

What an episode it was.. I don’t know why but everytime I watch this show,I like it even more than before. Once again, Hamza Ali stole the limelight today; Though I am not a die-hard fan of HAA,still I am finding his acting quite promising.Being first serial of having male actor as protagonist, this show is really attracting the viewers and compelling them even more to watch it.

1

Aiza seemed so loud and rude as compared to other episodes today where she was always caught confused and begging Lubna to help her in getting out of the fuss she has created. Now that they have created that not-so-real situation, they have to bear the consequences too; With this thought, Lubna made it very clear to Farah that there is no margin left in order to back off from the whole situation.

2

I found Farah’s mother very unreasonable today. I mean after knowing whole story that why he left his job,how can she be so sure that Afzal will leave Farah just like that. Offering him cash in replacement of Farah was not at all a good idea by her and that is the reason why her husband was not ready to second her decision.

3

Farah called Afzal to make everything clear to him but poor Afzal was unable to hear and understand anything because he was in state of sheer shock. I mean waking up by hearing the voice of whom  you dream about all the time was nothing more than a miracle for him; He is taking all this matter like a serious lover who wants to pay the bill as if he is going to dine out with his real life girlfriend- that was like an awww moment.. :p His meeting with Farah was really indeed a treat to watch. Farah was yelling out so loudly that I felt pity for pyarai Afzal who was all set to have a delightful afternoon that will be spent with Farah.

4

Meanwhile, Lubna and Farah were giving him lessons,Arifa came to know that Afzal left the job. Did you also feel or it was just me who found that flashback pretty clueless.Khair leave that, Afzal and Arifa’s strong bond was witnessed by us once again as they both were upset at their own places – Afzal, being the culprit and lying to his sister and Arifa, who felt as if she was cheated by her dear brother that made her cry.

5

Now that mulaakat scene was way too indigestible for me.How can Farah’s mother be so rude that she didnot want Afzal to come in.Okay,I can understand that it was part of her so called test but it was matter of his health. Afzal bhi dheet tha, cheenkta raha magar “chaiye” nahi pe.During whole discussion,Afzal was so honest with his words but Farah’s mother was turning even more and more rough with every statement she gave.Afzal didnot take anything on his nerves and dealt everything with “khanda paishaani” :p .. Bravo.. :)

I can smell Lubna falling for Afzal after watching few incidents in last couple of episodes. Are you feeling the same?  Do share your views about today’s episode.

Rabia Basharat.

Amir Bhai is Back

0

Entertainment Media has objectified religion by making it a tool they occasionally use for their benefit which clearly is to get better ratings. Each Ramzan we see ramzan transmissions most of which focus on entertainment more than on the blessings of the holy month which eventually becomes secondary. Religion clearly forbids us from being judgmental about others since its between individuals and Allah (SWT), however there are certain situations where voice should be raised. I am simply stating my observations based on facts, I am not being judgmental, and my observations can be flawed and might differ from yours.

I haven’t seen a person more bashed on social media than Amir Liaquat (except our former president :P) yet he is donned with garlands of praise and appreciation for getting highest TRPS. I would not go into discussing the reasons of people watching or attending his shows, but now that Geo Tv has made the lives of viewers hell by narrating his achievements every five minutes it has become unbearable more than ever. There are some other of his achievements that Geo Tv is not very proud about revealing.

Firstly his achievement of Doctorate; few years ago Mubashir Luqman conducted a program on the unauthenticity of Amir Liaquat’s degrees. He managed to get hold of Amir Liaquat’s degrees which he showed as a proof. Not only there were doubts about the institution of doctorate, the chronology of the preceding degrees was also ambiguous.

Second achievement is the conduction of his Ramzan transmission; a religious transmission where inappropriate language, topics and behavior are predominant, for example “tumhara chakar chal raha hai”, inquiring about girlfriend and insulting behavior with Taher Shah respectively. Apart from insulting Taher Shah, inviting a singer was inappropriate in the first place and that too for singing purpose. The scandal of Amir Liaquat of few years ago which became viral for the inappropriate language and reference of Indian movie and song shouldn’t be forgotten either. Amir Liaqaut’s dressing somehow gives it the aura of a fancy dress show through which he publicizes his own boutique.

Aamir-Liaquat-Hussain-During-Show-3063

Last but not the least; I would refer to Amir Liaquat Hussain’s column titled “Kuttay” regarding Mubashir Luqman published in November 2013. I understand they had some sort of clash going on, but was the kind of language used by Amir Liaquat appropriate and justified for a religious scholar? Is this how a sane being, a scholar well versed in religious literature should defend himself instead of answering the objections and queries? On the other hand Dr. Ziauddin’s series of columns entitled “Madari” addressed to Amir Liaquat Hussain where he raised many pertinent points regarding Aman Ramzan transmission says all.
Despite all these flaws and contradictions the show highest rating and popularity is a point worth pondering. At the end of the day this fault lies more on part of the viewers than the makers of such programs who are needlessly glued to such programs, hence making them a HIT. I wouldn’t have any problems with the program only if it is purely entertainment; I hope they stop using crutches of religion to support their programs which of course is beyond imagination since after all the popularity and success Amir Liaquat jald araha hai!

P.S. I refrained from addressing him as DR because I have my doubts about his degree; I will gladly recant if proved otherwise!

‘Mujhe Khuda Pe Yaqeen Hai’ and the retarded acting finally reached its end!

0

If one more episode of this unnecessarily stretched drama serial would have gone on-air, I would have done something with my TV screen for sure (*Sigh*)! So finally the most awaited ending of the drama serial ‘Mujhe Khuda pe Yaqeen Hai’ has bid a bye to the channel and the audience which was already found fed up from the poor acting and ambiguous story of the drama. Narmeen has paid well for her tricks and Arham, too, is disclosed honest by the end; the ending could not have been more obvious than this. Now that the drama has gone off-air, I feel like sharing my views on the 4 characters of this drama who have acted really bad this time.

1)      Ahsan Khan as Arham

530474_762552747103874_566966139_n

I do not know why, but Ahsan has always disappointed me with his acting because more or less he appears all same-every time. From expressions to dressing, from dialogues to movement, from head to toe, Ahsan has same skills to show in all the projects he picks for himself. As Arham in MKPYH, he did fascinate me somehow in the beginning but ultimately fall back to the point where he suits in, the most. Ahsan has done some wonderful serials like Dastaan, but for now, Ahsan needs to show his versatility and prove his talent once again.

1233526_714290595263423_1158996450_n

2)      Mikaal as Shaique

1472987_762552657103883_2056386992_n

I recently shared an article on the list of most expensive celebrities in Pakistan where we found Mikaal as one of those expensive artists who demand the highest payouts for each project. There are no doubts that Mikaal is really good looking and he also has some respectful dramas on his credit but as far as his acting is concerned, it has a huge room for improvement. As Shaique, Mikaal did half of the justice to his character as per my observation. There is something way girlish about his typical expression which I always failed to gulp. What do you say?

Untitled1173903_709691315723351_608403439_n

3)      Momal Sheikh as Areeba

296141_714288611930288_528837818_n

This sweet potato of the acting world needs to understand this fact that it is not working for her. Whether it is her role as Alina in Kadurat or Areeba in MKPYH, Momal’s acting has disappointed the audience greatly. For me, Areeba was just fine, but again, we expect more from the celebrities who belong to a family of actors, probably because they have their acting institution all available at their home. Though better than brother Shehzad, Momal Sheikh still needs to show improvement in her acting.

4)      Shakeel as Abba Jaan

shakeel

Whether it is his age or the requirement of the role, Shakeel’s acting has had been really irritating this time. I often question my own thoughts which I find developing while watching some senior actors doing a really bad job on screen where the top two’s are Rubina Ashraf and Shakeel these days. Abba Jaan was shown as a rich businessman who never happened to visit his office in the first place. He, on the other hand, was shown as a father who governs his family but his dialogue delivery portrayed him as a man of misery and nothing else. He could easily be personified with an ill father who had two heart-attacks previously and was in severe risk of experiencing the next blow.

When everything unfit comes together as a package, something very similar to Mujhe Khuda Pe Yaqeen Hai emerges on the shore and for this drama; it was firstly its bad acting followed by the series of flashback stories which resulted in making this drama a complete disappointment.

Please feel free to disagree with my thoughts and opinions and share your views about the drama.

Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai – Torture Khatammm! :)

0

Forgive me for I’m confused. I am ecstatic because the drama or rather torture has ended which I had to endure on weekly basis but also I am sad because my Tuesday’s won’t be fun anymore. I am still wondering what was the purpose of this drama but I am hysterically crying because I won’t get to find out as there are no more episodes of this drama left. :(

Arham gugu said that he felt insulted through out, so I want to know if he felt those insults again & again, what was he still doing in that house? Was he only there to shoot his father’s BP high every single time? If he was so much concerned about the misunderstandings, he should’ve worked on undoing things instead of holding his empty head trying to prevent it from bursting like a tyre. Azmaish azmaish, oh bhai kaunsi azmaish? All he had to do was dress up fancily, roam from one room to the other, curse Narmeen & that’s all. He didn’t have to work for anything in his life so if his so-called close knit family burdened him with a little accusation, he should’ve accepted it quietly because without doing anything he was getting fed in that house & also he had a shelter too. Karna karana kuch nahi bas rona tha Arham ne.

I thought Arham was the baddest character of this drama but I am sorry Arham, I am crowning Shakeel uncle with this label. His character was just annoying & that’s all there’s to it. He worried about the upbringing of his children by the end of the drama. He worried about paying some money to shut the ‘massi’ quiet at the end too. He should’ve rectified everything if he was such a Muslim which he claimed to be, but he was just another ordinary human being who only knew how to SPEAK & do nothing.

I just can’t believe all this while I kept on telling Arham to snap out of the past, snap out of it, snap out of it Arhammm pleaseee but now when the drama ended, he was still the same. Same obsessed man who just loved cursing Narmeen 24/7. & he got an obsession partner too & she was Areeba.

Surprisingly when Narmeen & Shaiq were romancing, I was too busy checking the feminine slit on Shaiq’s shirt’s sleeve because in that frame only the slit looked interesting. I wish Shaiq rather Mikaal had gone easy on the blush in that particular scene because blush-on’s are meant to highlight the cheekbones, not the whole cheeks making you look like someone who just got slapped with right hand on the left cheek & with left hand on the right one. Shaiq spoke about a performance & I kept on waiting for it, I think they made us all a Bakra & it was a bait to keep us glued to the drama till it ended.

Well coming to the gunnah part 2 scene, I mean really? Narmeen knew she got a blackmailer’s call & she was right there in the middle of a crowd responding to it? I mean I thought she had a more attention span than a poodle has but she proved me wrong. Shakeel uncle said I’ll come to a certain decision because I’m the eldest amongst all & I was like have you ever taken any decisions before Uncle? Why did he become a self-proclaimed Sherlock Holmes suddenly? I wish, I so wish he had concentrated more on his family than dying his beard, so then he wouldn’t have looked so spaced out. Even when Zainab came, all uncle did was some threatening & yelling & Ta-Da, he was done with his quota of ‘geedarh bhabkiyaan’ like every other episode. I wish he had at least done SOMETHING to prove a point for once at least…for once!

I mean it had to be a jaw dropping scene, the climax of the drama but it wasn’t even enough of a yawn-provoker. Sarah tried to reach her head as if there was something more than a bundle of hay there & as if she was the one getting exposed. All Sarah did in this drama was to make it over-the-top as if it wasn’t already. Accha jee, the drama ended & no one even bothered to ask Narmeen that WHY did she do all this? WHY? I think only 1 WHY would’ve sufficed. After all the trauma they’ve put us through, I think we do get a right to question this much?

Well now coming to the bloopers. What a decent way to end a so called serious drama? The way they were giggling in between performances & the way director was holding a gun on the actor’s skulls…it was SELF-EXPLANATORY that why the product was the way we saw it.

Lack of skills, lack of technicality & most importantly – LACK OF SERIOUSNESS was what that made Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai the way it was.

Ali Haidar on Karachi Mafia’s Hit List

After Sajjal Ali, it is now singer turned actor Ali Haidar, who is given a tough time by the Mafias of Karachi. As per the latest reveals, he has been asked to deliver a huge amount of Rs. 1 Crore in return of his life. The singer has had been receiving threatening calls which finally has forced him to seek help from the police.

Despite of all the instability found in Karachi, the fact persists that this city holds an immense importance in terms of economy of Pakistan. Due to the highly developed and raise life standards here, many of the prominent celebrities are found residing here. It is probably because of this that after businessmen and industrialists in the city, it is now the actors and singers who are now been targeted. While Sajal Ali preferred to shift elsewhere, Ali has acted brave by asking for Police security against this mafia gang.

Richest cities in the world in 2014

See the video below to find more about the news.

This is certainly a shame for not only the government of Karachi but for the federal authorities who are found to act blind even after knowing it all.

Please share your views and experiences about it.

Ali Zafar speaking about his interest in Bollywood

0

Not only has Ali Zafar done great work in films but has also shown a positive side of Pakistan to the world.

From becoming the country’s biggest music sensation to making it big in Bollywood with the critically acclaimed Tere Bin Laden and the commercial success of Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Ali Zafar has always made us Pakistanis proud! Not only has he done great work but he has also shown a positive side of Pakistan to the world. Lets have a short conversation with him about his works and interests in Bollywood films

1 How was the experience of working in LPNY?

We had a lot of fun shooting in three different cities, two of which (London and New York) are world hubs while Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. And since each place had its own charm, that made the whole experience a lot more enjoyable. Now that the film is out and has received appreciation and great reviews, it feels even better to be associated with such a project. Overall, it has been a fantastic experience!

2 Your acting stint in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan was amazing. Do you think you’ve done an equally good job in LPNY?

It’s only my third film and I’m still learning. Whether it’s acting or singing, I like to consider myself a student rather than a master of a particular form of art. Abhishekh Sharma, the director for Tere Bin Laden, thought that this was my best acting so far.

3 LPNY is the first Bollywood movie in which you composed the music too. How was the experience?

It’s slightly different from composing music otherwise but nonetheless very refreshing, memorable and interesting. I love making music so it felt great to keep in touch with my musical side too. When I compose music for my own album, I do whatever I feel like. But in composing music for a film, I had to rely on the framework given and satisfy the entire team, not just myself.

4 Aditi Rao is a newcomer. Were you hesitant in working with her?

We needed a fresh face and Aditi was perfect for the role.

5 How was the experience of working in MBKD different from LPNY?

MBKD was a big scale commercial comedy with Katrina and Imran whereas LPNY is a love story revolving around two people. Also, MBKD targeted the masses and LPNY targets the youth, so both films are very different from each other.

6 Now,  you’ve become a major name in Bollywood. What is the reason behind that?

I think it’s because I work extremely hard around the clock, and with a lot of sincerity and humility. Also, I don’t have any unnecessary biases in my heart.

7 Amitabh Bachchan once tweeted while in hospital, he heard your music and it comforted him. How did that feel?

Appreciation coming from a legend like Amitabh — who is known to appreciate art and someone who is into classical acting and music — felt really good.

8 Do you think there’s a constant pressure on you considering you’re representing our country across the border?

I obviously do think about what people are going to feel like back at home and what they’re going to think but then at the end of the day I really can’t please everyone. So I make it a point to keep my own conscience satisfied. I do what I think is right and hope people like my work.

9 Have you ever felt any bias from the audience, considering they know you’re a Pakistani?

No, I haven’t faced any biases. I’ve been welcomed with an open heart and a lot of appreciation. More than me, it’s the people who are responsible for making me who I am today.

Do you think Ali should give his time to bollywood more or do you want to see him working to improvise the conditions in Pakistan Films ? Drop by your comments and feedback

Pakistan Idol – Week 05!

0

Well another exciting week of Pakistan Idol ended with a few surprises & a few surprising eliminations. A lot of those contestants who seemed promising didn’t do well & were eliminated & sadly I was rooting for quite few of them too but never-mind.

Theater round was divided into 2 levels where in the first stage the contestants had to sing in a form of duos & trios but later as they qualified, they had to perform solo songs. It was amazing to see so many of them who sounded just fine in the auditions do extremely well with the band & then there were those as well who projected their vocals brilliantly but when asked to be singing along the other contestants & with the band, they were awful.

Those who were good but didn’t make through the theater rounds were Asif Hussain, Salman Cecil, Ramzan Ali, Shahid Ali Sonu. I actually thought that most of them would be qualified but may be they didn’t perform that well. Gopal Guddu Ram had strong vocals but I think he lacked concentration & for that he was out of the race. Even though he came up with a lot of excuses but they seemed really vague because given the concentration & the yearning he showed in the beginning, it completely looked like he took the chance for granted. At first he complained about not being able to read the lyrics but I think any one can put a song on the loop to memorize it because it goes without saying that he was participating in Pakistan Idol & then he came up with the say about his Father’s weak health. I think he had a lot of potential but God knows what got into him.

Round two was quite interesting because all the contestants had to sing solely. Sana, Yasir & Omar were all the best buddies & Sana even though her throat was giving her a hard time sang ‘Dil Dharkay’ appropriately. Yasir & Omar sang ‘Rangin Hai Tu’ & both of them weren’t as impressive but still they managed to qualify for the Piano Round along with their friend Sana Zulfikar.

Mehwish Maqsood sang ‘Ishq Sufiyana’ & she was as usual impressive. 4 of the girls Malaika, Ghazal Ali, Nadia Hashmi, Fizza Javed sang ‘Naina’ & all four of them disappointed the judges. I was sad when Ghazal couldn’t make it through because she had that quality in her.

The only contestant who did extremely well in solo round was Syed Ali Asad who sang ‘Pyaar Mujhse Nahi Hai’. Ali Azmat actually commended him for his performance & yeah, he nailed it. I found his performance the best because may be he picked every detail quickly whereas the others kept on struggling. Kashif Ali & Zamad Baig were again friends who sang the same song by Rabbi ‘Tere Bin’ but they did pretty well too & for that they both were through to the piano round.

Judgements session was interesting too but I was disappointed to see Ghazal Ali & Nadia Hashmi eliminated because they both were great. A few other contestants were selected in the top 24 but their names weren’t mentioned. Nazish got qualified but she withdrew from the show because of her personal issues at home & the moment she back out I hoped that the chance was given to Ghazal & it happened. It was a perfect decision made by the judges but I would’ve been more happy if she qualified on her own because she was unique in her own way. I am definitely rooting for Ghazal Ali & Rosemary as they both are amazing & in the guys Syed Ali Asad is definitely impressive.

Have your say at who is your favorite so far & whose elimination disappointed you!
Definitely looking forward to the Piano round this week.
