Yes, they are kids who are not officially married yet and we have still not gotten the law’s perspective on it as Pakistan’s governments are only concerned about useless things.

12 Worst Pakistani Dramas Of 2025

Pakistani dramas have seen an improvement in quality over the last few years. Higher production quality, better costuming and star power have improved the watchability of our shows. The dramas have also gained global viewership, and Pakistani stars are now becoming household names internationally. However, sometimes, despite our best efforts, our dramas fail to impress.

The year 2025 had many good Pakistani dramas, but we also had shows which looked great from the outside but ended up disappointing when they finally aired. Many fans highly anticipated these dramas featuring big stars, but were disappointed. Here is a list of the 12 Worst Pakistani Dramas of 2025:

Mann Mast Malang

12 Worst Pakistani Dramas Of 2025

Writer: Nooran Makhdoom
Director: Ali Faizan

Mann Mast Malang is actually one of the most popular Pakistani dramas of 2025, based on the number of views. Starring Danish Taimoor and Sehar Hashmi, this drama ended up on the list of the worst dramas of 2025 due to its extremely problematic content. It was marketed as a romance, and Pakistani fans do love to watch romance. But it ended up being a lighter version of soft porn. With the hero tying the heroine in bed, and a shirtless hero wandering around, the heroine was unnecessary and not appropriate for Pakistani television. All these extremely close scenes didn’t even play a part in the story; they were put in just to sensationalise the drama. Thus, Mann Mast Malang ended up on he list for its cheap content.

Sunn Mere Dil

12 Worst Pakistani Dramas Of 2025

Writer: Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar
Director: Haseeb Hassan

Snn Mere Dil was a Pakistani drama that was highly anticipated before its release. Written by Khalil ur Rehman Qamar and directed by Haseeb Hassan, the drama boasted names like Wahaj Ali, Maya Ali, Usama Khan and Hira Mani as leads. What could go wrong with such a strong team, you may ask. Well, EVERYTHING!. The story of Sunn Mere Dil made no sense, which brought a lot of criticism to Khalil ur Rehman Qamar. The direction was lacking, and all the actors performed exaggeratedly and unnaturally. The show ended up being the worst drama of the season while it was airing, and it now ends up on the list.

Dil e Nadan

12 Worst Pakistani Dramas Of 2025

Writer: Sadia Akhtar
Director: Saima Waseem

Dil e Nadan is a Pakistani drama starring Amar Khan, Mikaal Zulfiqar and Ali Abbas. The show was dubbed as the most nonsensical script of the year. Amar Khan played a very naive, college-going girl. Her look and wardrobe did not do justice to her character, while her exaggerated expressions became prime content for memes. A drama with such a talented star cast ended up becoming a hilarious parody. Dil e Nadan was one drama which made everyone question why it was even approved in the first place.

Dayan

12 Worst Pakistani Dramas Of 2025

Writer: Fatima Faizan & Amber Azhar
Director: Siraj Ul Haq

Dayan is a Pakistani drama which marked the television comeback of Mehwish Hayat. It had a huge star cast, but the story reminded us of 80s exaggerated Lollywood. This show had people coming back to life, severe IQ problems, as no one was able to recognise a woman just because she changed her styling and flying snakes. Creative liberty is the right of a storyteller, but this show had way too many creative liberties. Moreover, people did not agree with the ending when Nihal did not extract revenge from Zawar Shah, while he was okay to live happily ever after with a woman who killed his entire family.

Main Manto Nahi Hoon

12 Worst Pakistani Dramas Of 2025

Writer: Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar
Director: Nadeem Baig

Main Manto Nahi Hoon was a big-budget Pakistani drama which brought back the Mere Paas Tum Ho team on television. With the biggest constellation of stars in the cast and Nadeem Baig in the director’s seat, this drama was supposed to bring back old-school Khalil ur Rehman Qamar charm. Still, it only ended up glorifying a very problematic relationship, while leaving all the other strong tracks of the story without proper endings. Main Manto Nahi Hoon is on the list of worst dramas, as it was never about Manto but rather about a 50-year-old teacher having an affair with his 21-year-old student. INAPPROPRIATE, SENSELESS and UNNECESSARY!

Humraaz

12 Worst Pakistani Dramas Of 2025

Writer: Misbah Nosheen
Director: Farooq Rind

Humraaz was one of the highest anticipated dramas of 2025. With Ayeza Khan, Feroze Khan and Zahid Ahmed joining hands, this one was supposed to be a hit from the very first episode. The amalgamation of romance, thriller and crime was what the makers promised the audience. However, the viewers only got a confused attempt at trying to make a crime thriller. The script was unbearable, and the acting at times looked monotonous. This was not just one of the worst dramas of 2025, but also a complete disappointment for fans.

Agar Tum Saath Ho

12 Worst Pakistani Dramas Of 2025

Writer: Radain Shah
Director: Adnan Sarwar

Agar Tum Saath Ho was not just one of the worst Pakistani dramas of 2025 but also a huge missed opportunity. Mawra Hocane and Ameer Gilani had just gotten married, and fans were giving them so much love. Hum TV decided to release this drama right after. It had all the ingredients to win the audience, but it forgot to have a STORY. The performances were not up to the mark, and this one also turned out to be a huge disappointment for the fans.

Behroopia

12 Worst Pakistani Dramas Of 2025

Writer: Rida Bilal
Director: Shaqielle Khan

Behroopia is a Pakistani drama that was dubbed a game-changer. Based on split personality disorder, Faysal Quraisi played 9 characters in this one drama. This was a story which was presented as it would address the pain of this disorder, and then it would show ways to deal with it. What ended up happening was simply a confused script, with the writer herself dissociating from the plot that was shot. Faysal Quraishi did a great job, but even his excellence could not save this trainwreck.

Meri Bahuain

12 Worst Pakistani Dramas Of 2025

Writer: Osama Siddiqui & Sohail Younus
Director: Ahmer Sohail

Gone are the days when long Pakistani dramas were all about Star Plus-esque storylines. Now, long plays have gained high TRPs, and people have found some great story lines at both 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. slots. But Meri Bahuain just brought back the unnecessary toxicity and sensationalism. Pregnancies in every episode, women calling out women, the saas-bahu saga, this show has everything to ruin a person’s mood. It is definitely one of the worst dramas to air on-screen in 2025.

Shirin Farhad

12 Worst Pakistani Dramas Of 2025

Writer: Ali Moeen
Director: Asad Mumtaz

Shirin Farhad was a Pakistani drama which had a lot of expectations when it was released. The story was set in old Lollywood, and many characters were fascinating in the beginning. A lot of effort was put into costuming and makeup. Farhan Saeed and Kinza Hashmi were in the lead, but in the end, a weak storyline could not keep the audience interested. This highly anticipated show ended up becoming one of the worst of the year.

Masoom

12 Worst Pakistani Dramas Of 2025

Writer: Content Line
Director: Barkat Siddiki

Masoom is one Pakistani drama that showed how great acting talent can be wasted easily. With some strong performers like Imran Ashraf, Sonya Hussyn and Mikaal Zulfiqar in the cast, who are all giving their best, this show fell short of an original story. The drama felt like a copy of the Bollywood film Woh 7 Din, and no amount of effort from the actors could save it.

Hum Dono

12 Worst Pakistani Dramas Of 2025

Writer: Bee Gul
Director: Abis Raza

This Pakistani drama was supposed to be a modern love story with twists and turns. What it turned out to be was an hour of an extremely boring storyline, which will give you a headache. Nouman Ijaz, Kinza Hashmi, Azaan Sami Khan and Samar Jafri were a part of the cast, while Bee Gul was the writer, but viewers could still not build a connection to it. The drama was haphazard and all over the place.

Which among these Pakistani dramas was the worst, according to you? Share in comments!

A spin-off about his story and rehabilitation will be something many would love to watch. The track of Nashwa and Burhan also ended abruptly, and fans would love to see how they fared in life.

Ehd e Wafa

Popular Pakistani Dramas That Deserve A Sequel

Ehd e Wafa was a Pakistani drama targeted at youth. It was different from just love stories. The show explored career choices, ambitions, and similar themes. Popular Pakistani Dramas That Deserve A Sequel

Alif, written by Umera Ahmed, was a masterpiece starring Sajal Aly and Hamza Ali Abbasi. With a story revolving around spirituality and deep and interesting characters, this is one of the best dramas to come out of Pakistani television. The show ends with Qalb e Momin deciding to move back to Turkey to continue his father and grandfather’s legacy. Momina Sultan, however, remains back, and it would be lovely to see how they progress in life if a second season is made. It will be great to see the characters again, even if for a mini-series.

Duniyapur

Popular Pakistani Dramas That Deserve A Sequel

Duniyapur was another unique Pakistani drama revolving around themes of lawlessness and revenge. The show had a big cast, and everyone did their best in their roles. Serial Killer

Popular Pakistani Dramas That Deserve A Sequel

Serial Killer was a Pakistani drama that aired on Green TV. Starring Saba Qamar as the lead, this was yet another refreshing change for Pakistani television. A senior police officer, trying to catch a serial killer while she herself suffers from PTSD, was a good story. This show ended with one of the biggest cliffhangers in the history of recent Pakistani dramas. It should be rebooted, and a conclusion needs to be given to the show.

Mere Paas Tum Ho

Popular Pakistani Dramas That Deserve A Sequel

Mere Paas Tum Ho is a cult classic. The show broke viewership records, and fans were on the edge of their seats to see what would happen to Danish. In the end, we got Rumi and Mehwish, both alive, and a huge amount of money left behind by Danish. Since Danish is dead, one can not expect a sequel from his point of view. But a spin-off with Rumi as lead wouldn’t be a bad idea. The idea also gained limelight when Sunn Mere Dil came out. Fans thought Wahaj Ali’s character could be Rumi’s future, but the show diverted way too much from being sensible. A real sequel from Rumi’s point of view will be a great idea for fans and makers both.

Khaas

Khaas is a Pakistani drama that focuses on emotional abuse in a marriage. This topic has not been addressed enough in the past. Starring Sanam Baloch, Ali Rehman Khan and Haroon Shahid, this was a great watch. A season 2 with similar and important themes explored would be great to watch.

Wahaj Ali and Neelam Muneer starred in this horror Pakistani drama. They both did a great job, and it was one drama in the horror genre that actually worked. After many twists and turns, the drama ended with a hybrid jin-human child, which Dil Nawaz takes with her. A sequel with the baby would be a treat to watch for fans. Wahaj is all set to star in a horror comedy now. Maybe we can watch him in Dil Nawaz 2.

Durr e Shehwar

12 Popular Pakistani Dramas That Deserve A Sequel

Durr e Shehwar is a Pakistani drama that every young woman who is fed up with Tere Bin and Ishq Murshid fantasy would love to watch. It is a show so close to reality that it would make you uncomfortable. The stark reality of what women go through in our society was beautifully portrayed in the drama. This is one story which should have a remake version and viewers will be debating on every scene every week.

Pakistani Actors are known all around the globe. The Pakistani drama industry is the biggest in the entertainment umbrella of the land. The dramas have always been loved by everyone who can speak and understand Urdu and Hindi all over the world. With Humsafar, the drama world got back to the fame game and all the stars in the country have been made by the dramas. 12 Faysal Quraishi Dramas That Show He Is King Of Versatility

Faysal Quraishi is one of Pakistan’s most renowned actors. He started his career as a child actor. He worked in a few films at the very beginning of his career and later transitioned to television. He has been among the main faces of television for three decades now, and he still pulls the audience towards any project that he stars in.

Faysal Quraishi Dramas That Show He Is King Of Versatility

What makes Faysal Quraishi different from his contemporaries is his ability to pick scripts based on their stories. He doesn’t have to look like a millionaire CEO every time. He has played older characters when he was young. He has taken on characters that many were scared to take on. Faysal has appeared in around 200 projects in his career. Here is a list of dramas that prove he is the king of versatility and no one does it better than him:

Boota From Toba Tek Singh

Faysal Quraishi Dramas That Show He Is King Of Versatility

Boota From Toba Tek Singh is where it all started for Faysal Quraishi. He became a household name. A character so different from his real life, Boota put him on the map. The story of a rural man still lives rent-free in the minds of Faysal Quraishi fans. He was not having a great run in films when Toba came into his life, and here is where the star’s journey started.

Meri Zaat Zarra e Benishan

Faysal Quraishi Dramas That Show He Is King Of Versatility

Meri Zaat Zarra e Benishan is a difficult watch. It was never going to end gloriously for Faysal Quraishi’s character. He was at the top of his career when he decided to work on that show. He was playing a weak man who was not able to trust his love. He made her suffer all her life. Faysal not only picked up that role but also made it believable. Though Meri Zaat Zarra e Benishan did not have a conventional hero, Faysal chose to become a part of a classic.

Man o Salwa

Faysal Quraishi Dramas That Show He Is King Of Versatility

Man o Salwa is another classic starring names like Resham, Nauman Ijaz and Faysal Quraishi. It is another strong script, and Faysal was an integral part of it. He was a lead but an anti-lead. The actor knows how to make us hate him. His character held the power to shape how the story ends, and he did not miss his strong performance in a single scene. All Faysal Quraishi and Nauman Ijaz fans should give this one a try.

Aashti

Faysal Quraishi Dramas That Show He Is King Of Versatility

Aashti was a drama that was way ahead of its time. For those who have not witnessed this masterpiece, this show has Humayun Saeed, Fahad Mustafa, Faysal Quraishi and Resham together. It was based on the lives of the Bengali community and something that makers do not even think of making nowadays. Close to reality and performances that will make you forget who these stars are, Aashti is a show you will enjoy. Faysal also played a Bengali man and once again gave his 100%.

Qaid e Tanhai

Faysal Quraishi Dramas That Show He Is King Of Versatility

Qaid e Tanhai stars Faysal Quraishi and Savera Nadeem. A very sensitive story that will stay with you for a while. Faysal Quraishi played the father of Neelam Muneer when he was very young. The OST of this drama is still a hit. Another performance where half the time you will hate Faysal, while you will feel for him for the other half.

Main Abdul Qadir Hoon

Faysal Quraishi Dramas That Show He Is King Of Versatility

Main Abdul Qadir Hoon is an iconic drama. It showed how capable Fahad Mustafa was, but Faysal Quraishi also stole the show. He appeared in the special role of Faiz Rasul. The character became an instant hit. His jolly nature, the turns he brings in Abdul Qadir and the way he lit up the screen were a treat to watch. This shows how a smaller character can leave a lasting impact and more screentime does not equal more applause.

Bashar Momin

Faysal Quraishi Dramas That Show He Is King Of Versatility

We get to see people complaining about angry and toxic heroes on our television screens. Danish Taimoor and Feroze Khan are both put into that category. But Faysal Quraishi is the one who actually set the trend with Bashar Momin. Half of these toxic characters can still not hold a candle to Bashar. Where Faysal Quraishi excelled was that he did not get stuck in that character. He kept experimenting and did many great roles after that.

Rang Laaga

Faysal Quraishi Dramas That Show He Is King Of Versatility

Rang Laaga is another drama where Faysal Quraishi played an outrageous character. He keeps marrying, and he is a colourful character who you cannot even hate. He is flamboyant, out of control, and he was able to bring chemistry with all three actresses Saima Khan, Zhalay Sarhadi and Neelam Muneer. This shows his versatility as the same actor has played Neelam’s father very convincingly in Qaid e Tanhai when they were both very young.

Khaie

Faysal Quraishi Dramas That Show He Is King Of Versatility

Khaie is a masterpiece that broke many barriers. It was an experiment in a time when dramas were only being shot in drawing rooms. Faysal Quraishi played a killer Chinar Khan, and people ended up falling in love with him. A strong story with a very strong cast, Khaie is one of Faysal Quraishi’s best works, with considerable re-watch value.

Raaja Rani

Faysal Quraishi Dramas That Show He Is King Of Versatility

Raaja Raani is an ongoing project on Hum TV, featuring Faysal Quraishi and Hina Afridi. The show has received a lot of criticism, but Faysal Quraishi has taken on a unique role as a mentally challenged man who embodies childlike behavior. His mannerisms and portrayal of this condition are exceptional. Fans are eager to see where the story will lead, and once again, his acting has been outstanding.

Behroopia

Faysal Quraishi Dramas That Show He Is King Of Versatility

Behroopia is a project in which Faysal Quraishi has set a remarkable record. He portrays Mikail, a character with multiple personality disorder, and has taken on eight different roles within the same drama. He has done an excellent job in each one, effectively highlighting this mental condition. Once again, the actor has demonstrated why he is regarded as the king of versatility.

Sabz Pari Laal Kabootar

Faysal Quraishi Dramas That Show He Is King Of Versatility

Sabz Pari Laal Kabootar is a dark story. This comes highly recommended from one of the cast members, Sami Khan. The drama shows the harsh realities of our society and how economic problems can push people to extremes. Faysal Quraishi’s character is based on a real-life story where a father slaughtered his daughters.

Faysal Quraishi’s career demonstrates that he has never been limited to just playing glamorous hero roles. He has consistently supported strong characters, even while being a star himself. He has taken on negative roles, and he shows no signs of slowing down. His filmography serves as a lesson to young actors who are often confined to playing wealthy characters in suits and driving luxury vehicles.

Which one of these Faysal Quraishi dramas is your all-time favorite? Share your thoughts.

12 amazing fathers in Pakistani dramas

0

Fathers are the people who work hard everyday, in order to provide us with everything we want. They love us with all their heart and can stop the whole world from doing any harm to us. They maybe angry on us at times and may scold us but it is for our own good. Our job is to respect them no matter what as our rudeness could cause them a lot of grief.

Following is a list of father characters in Pakistani dramas whom I feel, were the best portrayals:

1. Baba in Dhoop Kinarey: (Performed by Qazi Wajid) He was his daughter’s best friend. She preferred him over everyone else and he did the same. As long as they had eachother, they were never alone. Their conversations were those which best friends would have.

2. Naseeb in Dastaan: (Performed by Abdul Qavi Khan) Martyred in front of his wive’s and daughter’s eyes, this man left us emotionally scarred. He died protecting his family from the people he knew would rob them of everything. A perfect depiction of what the fathers at the time of partition did.

3. Abba in Durr-e-Shehwar: (Performed by Mohammad Ahmed) The lessons he gave his daughter gave her strength to face the challenges of life. He taught her about compromise and sacrifice and told her that life is not a ready-made bed of roses. Through our patience, we can melt hearts of stone and then at last, all the difficulties will end.

fathers

4. Molvi Subhanallah in Pyaray Afzal: (Performed by Firdous Jamal) Being a Pesh-imaam whose son gets involved in murder and becomes a feared don, Molvi Sahab has to choose whether to let him go or not. He can’t! He loves his son more than anyone else and this love is deeper than the ocean. It just can’t be contained.

5.Sheikh Ibrahim in Pyaray Afzal: (Performed by Shehryar Zaidi) He loves both his daughters dearly. After everything that Farah did, he did not even once regret having daughters. His sweet and helpful nature makes him the most positive character in this show after Molvi Sahab and Ruqayya Begum. His way of convincing Molvi Sahab to forgive Afzal was adorable.

6. Nimra’s father in Roag: (Performed by Asif Raza Mir) Roag tells how the devastation of a girl could destroy her and her family’s entire lives. This father had to deal with the stinging taunts of people who didn’t even once care about what the family was going through. Just as they had forgotten the heart-wrenching incident and were preparing for Nimra’s wedding, the reminder of the incident by their former “mohalley wali” ruined everything for them.

7. Khushi’s father in Khushi ek Roag: (Performed by Shahood Alvi) He loved Khushi and did not even once, try to treat her as an adopted child. The way he was taunted by everyone for it was heart-breaking.

8. Baba Jani in Saat Pardon mein: (Performed by Tariq Jamal) He showered affection on his daughter Darakhshandey Badar and was a lenient and friendly person compared to her strict brother. He completed every little wish of her’s and wanted to see her as the happiest person alive. Sadly, she disappointed him a lot.

9. Taimoor’s father in Manjali: (Performed by Shehryar Zaidi) He dealt with his ignorant/playboy son in a way which we don’t see often. He didn’t scold him or beat him, but tried to be just like a friend to him. Obviously Taimoor was a hard one to crack and ended up paying for his actions.

10. Laila’s father in Pehchan: (Performed by Qazi Wajid) The bond Laila shares with her father is impeccable. It has friendliness, devotion and utmost care, as if they are connected. One feels the pain and the other one shares it. This father made Laila stand-up on her feet with the business she wanted to run but sadly, he did not live to see her as a successful business woman.

11. Jamshed in Aunn Zaara: Even though Jamshed was a strict father, he always wanted the best for her. He chose Aunn immediately after he realized how much “truthful” Aunn was :D This character was funny and a good example of a father.

12. Khirad’s father in Humsafar: This character appeared in just one scene but that one scene showed the incredible bond Khirad had with him. His dialogue about speaking the truth was beautiful.

1000th Episode of Bolain Kya Baat Hai

0

I am not much of a cricket fan but there is little option left when you have cricket freak brothers who are entitled to keep you informed even when you don’t want to know anything. But yesterday was an exception, I got hooked to the show my brother was watching namely Bolain Kya Baat Hai. It was the 1000th anniversary celebration of the show (those who watch it will know that Shoaib Akther and Mohammad Yousuf are part of it as analysts), so yesterday Shoaib Akhtar was given the responsibility to host the program.

They talked or Shoib Akthar talked (since M.Yousuf usually contributed with 2-3 syllables :P) about their experiences, the fun they had, shared some personals etc. Some of the senior like Saqlan Mushtaq, Azhar Mehmood, Moin Khan participated through live calls. Their laughter and lighthearted talk was worth watching and thoroughly entertaining especially for the cricket fans. They shared their little secrets for the first time on screen for example who had worst dressing in the team :P, Waqar Younus, Saqlan Mushtaq, Shoaib Akhtar and Azhar Mehmood were declared worst dressed and Waseem Akram and Inzimam ul Haq best and decently dressed Pakistani cricketers by unanimous decision of Shoaib Akhtar and M. Yousuf. Waqar Younus was praised more by Shoiab Akhtar than the others though, he said “Me ne Waqar se bohat kuch seekha hai per us jesi dressing nai seekh saka…red shirt, yellow pants aur white shoes”. Since Shoaib Akhtar was hosting he did most of the talking, forcing M. Yousuf to participate (half of Shoaib Akhtar’s comments were directed towards him) and the actual host only participated through his uncontrollable booming laughter. M. Yousuf; a tightwad, Shoaib Akhter’s bullying of M. Yousuf in the beginning of his career (lol he made Yousuf iron his clothes on their first international tour together) and Shoaib Akhtar’s own aggressive behavior, his partying and kind of self-obsession which made him oblivious of all of his teammates and international players as well were among the topics they discussed but in a very light mood and amusing way.

ys

Bolain Kya Baat Hai throughout its journey of 1000 episodes has done a lot for the minimal Pakistani cricket. The program inaugurated with Moin Khan, Rashid Lateef and Iqbal Mirza who are main pillars of this program that has supported not only the older batch of cricketers, they supported the current batch and the youngsters as well, aided both Moin Khan and Rashid Lateef in establishing their academies (by broadcasting their matches) of cricket which are providing a platform for novices.

The 1000th anniversary celebration was a treat to watch, Shaoib Akhter’s spontaneous and witty comments complemented with M. Yousuf’s smiles and rare comments kept me grinning constantly. Unfortunately I couldn’t watch the whole program because of WAPDA’s meherbani, and it isn’t available online yet.

10 Worst Styled Characters In Recent Pakistani Dramas

Pakistani dramas have gained global popularity in the last few years. The stars created by the drama industry now have a global reach and we have seen people from other countries who do not even speak Urdu as their first language enjoying our shows. Styling does play an important role in how the characters are perceived and how eventually the drama looks when it airs. There have been instances recently where the styling of characters was so off that they did not even look a part of the story being shown.

Here is a list of Pakistani stars who did not look great styling-wise in Pakistani dramas. Have a look:

Ushna Shah In Ghair

10 Worst Styled Characters In Recent Pakistani Dramas

We will only discuss the styling aspect of this Pakistani drama though performances were also under fire while it was on air. Ushna Shah played the role of a girl who was practically an orphan. She was shipped from one home to another and no one owned her or cared for her. She also had a serious accusation about her and her character was being tarnished nearly every hour. But throughout the show, her hair was perfectly curled, the makeup was done to the nines and not a single look showed that she was an orphan or a girl who did not even have a home.

Yashmeera Jan In Ghair

10 Worst Styled Characters In Recent Pakistani Dramas

Yashmeera Jan was also a part of the Pakistani drama Ghair. It proved to be her last as she is leaving acting after getting married. The actress played the vamp but her character was supposed to be from an elite family and she was a young college-going girl. She ended up wearing wedding outfits and her hair and makeup were too loud for her role. Not a great way of styling a character who is supposed to look young on screen.

Hiba Ali Khan In Jaan Nisar

10 Worst Styled Characters In Recent Pakistani Dramas

Hiba Ali Khan played the desperate bhabi turned first wife in Jaan Nisar. Her character was shown as a woman from a very influential household but her styling was mediocre at best. She did not look as rich as Nosherwan or his mother and her outfits and jewellery were quite out of place at certain instances.

Azekah Daniel In Mein

10 Worst Styled Characters In Recent Pakistani Dramas

Azekah Daniel played Ayra in Mein. Mein was a big Pakistani drama and it had some big cast members including Ayeza Khan, Shahzad Nawaz, and Wahaj Ali. With Ayra’s character arc, there should have been extreme style transformation after Ayra marries Zaid but she could never match Mubashira aka Ayeza Khan.

Sonya Hussyn In Akhara

10 Worst Styled Characters In Recent Pakistani Dramas

Sonya Hussyn was the weakest link of Akhara. A show with perfect styling had her looking out of place. Her Western and Eastern, looks did not work for her character Sitara and she did not look like a student anywhere. She appeared older because of her makeup and styling, which did not fit the show’s environment.

Usman Mukhtar In Jafaa

10 Worst Styled Characters In Recent Pakistani Dramas

Usman Mukhtar played the green flag turned red flag character Dr Numair in Jafaa. Jafaa was a Pakistani drama that got a lot of appreciation and Usman’s character was also talked about. In addition to the writing of its conclusion, Usman’s styling was the worst part of the show. He looked like he was not putting in any effort throughout the drama except for the scrubs which looked good.

Neelam Muneer In Khumar

10 Worst Styled Characters In Recent Pakistani Dramas

Neelam Muneer portrayed a middle-class girl in the drama “Khumar.” Although she worked in event management, her appearance often resembled that of a Lahori auntie from DHA, complete with golden hair and heavy makeup. Even during the sad scenes, she was fully made up, which seemed excessive. Neelam is naturally beautiful, and the styling choices did not enhance her look.

Arsalan Naseer In Radd

10 Worst Styled Characters In Recent Pakistani Dramas

Arsalan Naseer portrayed the character Zain in the show “Radd.” He is also a content creator who typically does not experiment much with his appearance. However, the beard he sported in Radd was quite unfortunate and detracted significantly from his character. As soon as he appeared on screen with that fake beard, it became difficult for the audience to take him seriously.

Laiba Khan In Kaffara

Pakistani drama

Laiba Khan starred in the hit Pakistani drama Kaffara. The show was a massive success but Laiba also had the Ayra from Mein syndrome. After she gets married to the super-rich male lead, her styling should have changed drastically. Rich characters need to look different like we saw the transformations of Ayeza Khan and Fahad Mustafa in Mere Paas Tum Ho and Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum respectively. Laiba’s character looked the same as she looked from the very beginning of the show.

Munazzah Arif In Dil e Nadan

10 Worst Styled Characters In Recent Pakistani Dramas

Munazzah Arif also failed to show an ultra-rich woman in Dil e Nadan. Her accessories and outfits did not match her character. She is a great talent, but the styling team could have done much better. She might have looked better in simple saris and raw silk suits.

Which other actors do you think were not styled according to the characters? Share in the comments!

10 Worst Scenes From Recent Pakistani Dramas

0

The story of every single drama is taken forward with the help of different situations and scenarios. This is why every single scene of any drama is of utmost importance because it contributes towards the fluidity of the narrative. It is a known fact that where some of the scenarios are very unforgettable, there are also some which do not do any favor to the viewers who have tuned to the drama.

Pakistani dramas have always portrayed the reality and the writers have taken pride in the fact that they showcase the truths of the society. This is the reason they continue to show all the evils prevailing in the society and in the last few episodes, they wrap the story up showing the consequences. This entire approach at times works but mostly seems flawed because showing negative things for a longer period of time are going to leave a bigger impact than the consequences which are barely given a few seconds at the end of the drama. It then comes across as the evil and negative things are being reiterated time and again and the focus on doing good is non-existent.

The factors that help in making the scene complete and good are execution, direction, acting and last but not the least; the dialogues. It should be a priority of the writers to come up with better dialogues because they leave an impact and long-lasting impression. It is unfortunate that due to the influx of poorly written, questionable dialogues and scenarios, the drama-viewers have gotten used to them. It is a high time that the writers bring a change in the approach and focus on showing more good than evil, this way they will contribute towards perspective alteration of the audience.

Let’s take a look at 10 worst scenes from the recent Pakistani dramas:

Casual Consumption of Alcohol (Raaz e Ulfat)

This scene from Raaz e Ulfat is wrong on so many levels. A boyfriend is seen offering his girlfriend a drink and because she happens to be in love with him, she finds it hard to refuse. In Raaz e Ulfat, the main plot revolves around how hard it is for a simpleton Mushk to pursue her higher education and because she belongs to a very conservative family, she does not have much of an exposure. The writer has tried to show that simple girls may fall prey to the widespread evils outside the vicinity of their homes.

Mushk has gotten influenced by her friend Sahiba and is contemplating about the freedom she enjoys, but it is a done deal that she will never resort to alcoholism, therefore taking it that far and showing it did not really do the viewers any favors. Also, those parents who in real life do find it hard to permit their daughters to go to universities and colleges may be finding all of this the only true side of the picture, which again does not help those girls who are passionate and eager to get educated.

Open Slandering of A Divorcee (Meherposh)

In this scenario, a riled up mother who only sees the innocence of her son comes up with the most vulgar statements against a recently divorced Meher and it just doesn’t stop there – she has the audacity to say that to her face. Shahjahan’s mother compares Meher to prostitutes and continues to say that she is worse than them because they have certain rules and limitations, whereas Meher has none? How and where did she come up with such an idea? Later when Meher’s mother apologizes to that woman, she lies to her face saying Meher misbehaved and Shahjahan was the ultimate victim in this entire situation? The dialogues are not only disgusting but absolutely uncalled for. Again, the message that was sent through this entire conversation – it is best known to the writer of Meherposh.

Talaq, Talaq, Talaq (Kahin Deep Jale)

In this entire drama, Shameela was held responsible for the misery that she was putting everyone through, but ever wondered how and why was she able to gain so much of power above the people she was surrounded with? The simple answer is because they all were peanut-brained with the lowest level of IQ. In this particular scene, the writer chose Hatim as the undoer of Shameela who gave her what she deserved but in reality, has anyone wondered why wasn’t Hatim held accountable for all the mistakes he committed? How and why did he get away scot-free as if he stood by his family through thick and thin?

It is very easy for the writers to put the entire blame on the women for brain feeding the men but again, why are they always shown to be the most naive and simple-minded people to have walked the face of the earth? Why was Hatim never questioned for misunderstanding and misbehaving with his mother, being rude to his sister and also handing over the property to his wife Shameela blindly when she demanded it before their Nikkah? If someone deserved to be pushed alongside Shameela, it was Hatim.

The Woman Who Feeds Off Negativity (Mera Dil Mera Dushman)

Shaheena is your typical evil bahu in Mera Dil Mera Dushman. She has no filters whatsoever and is a patient of verbal diarrhea. In the initial episodes, she was given a lot of coverage to establish the fact that she is a conniving woman who plots and schemes but where does it stop? It is obvious that so far her antics have continued to become worse but to see her repeatedly spewing venom from her mouth is bothersome to the point of being depressing. To show her as evil is one thing but not adding more shades to her character is the writer’s fault. The way in this scene she just left her mother in law lying on the floor was plain vile and was such a scenario which deserved not to be aired on the TV. There is enough negativity in the world, there is no need for more.

The Jumping Jack of A Wife (Thora Sa Haq)

Thora Sa Haq ends this week which will put the viewers out of the two-biwi misery. In this drama, in order to make the relationship of Seher and Zamin shine, the writer surrounded these two with the conniving characters who were trying every tactic up their sleeve to win Zamin back as if he was the jackpot in Hareem’s life. Hareem, Rabia and Munazzah did all they could to capture Zamin and drift him apart from Seher and when all of their attempts failed, Hareem came up with this one. She decided to turn into a jumping jack to earn his short-lived sympathy, without even considering the fact that she was putting the life of her unborn child at stake. She kept on blaming Seher that she is doing all this to harm the baby! That’s Thora Sa Haq in a nutshell for you; plotting and scheming without an ounce of dignity.

Frustrating Conversation Between The Frustrating Duo (Ye Dil Mera)

So far, this fact has been established that Nargis and Farhana are two such characters in Ye Dil Mera who have served no purpose of being a part of the drama at all. They were given a lot of coverage in the later stages of the drama and when they had the chance to help Noor ul Ain, they decided to observe silence for 1 minute x  1000. It was also unfortunate that they were used as fillers but the viewers were reminded week after week about how much of a filler they were in case they forgot. Nargis and Farhana have had a lot of conversations in this drama and they have been nothing but frustrating. This one is another example of how they kept on beating around the brush without getting to the point that they posed to be so concerned about.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6Clok29Nw8&t=10m52s

Assaulting Pregnant Wife (Deewangi)

This was another cringe-worthy scene of this drama. Sultan Durrani gets to ruin people’s lives and has all the power at the back of his hand but it is interesting how accountability is missing from his life. He ruined Nageen’s life and then got married to Rameen only to realize that he was and still is madly in love with Nageen. It just didn’t stop there, his wife got pregnant, only to be pushed by Sultan so badly in the last trimester that she ended up losing her life. After this adventure, Sultan has assigned himself another adventure of ruining Nageen’s marital life by drifting her apart from her husband. It is important to contemplate and wonder when the drama-makers will stop showing such scenarios where a husband gets to literally push his wife to deathbed and walk around like he has done nothing wrong!

Anticipating Her Father’s Death (Jhooti)

Nirma is a pathological liar. She feeds off lying and continues to do so without even thinking for a second about the consequences. The writer has shown how she has been digging her own grave but alongside, she is also waiting for her father’s grave to be dug so that she can take her part of the property and just move on with her life. This has been a repetitive pattern where Nimra has continued to speak about her father kicking the bucket that too in a hope that it happens soon. It is good to be practical but in this case it is downright inconsiderate to be speaking about a father’s death time and again only for personal gains that come after. The way Nimra casually discussed how her mother died was cringe-worthy too. Talk about poor dialogues!

The Banjh Syndrome (Ghalati)

This word has to be diminished from the Pakistani drama dictionary once and for all. How many times have the viewers heard of this word? The writers fail to understand that for them, it might just be a juicy word added in one of the dialogues written by them, but this happens to be a reality for so many women out there who are suffering from infertility or are doing what it takes to fight it. Therefore, to see this word being so casually used in almost every second drama is cruel.

After Talaq, this word seems to be the most favorite of Pakistani drama writers because not a day goes by when this is not echoed in one of Pakistani dramas. How does showing a woman taunting another woman about infertility in such a vile manner help or serve any purpose? Again, a high time for the change of narrative where no woman ever in any drama for the sake of ratings is seen being taunted for not bearing children!!!

10 Worst Make-up Looks of Ayeza Khan

2

There is no denying the fact that Ayeza Khan is naturally beautiful. She is also one of those celebrities who never get tired of trying out different make-up looks. No other Pakistani female celebrity gets so many photo shoots done as Ayeza Khan. There was a time when Ayeza Khan played it safe and mostly had the same look. That is something that has definitely changed over the years. Since Ayeza Khan has sported some of the most enchanting make-up looks in recent times, her fans expect nothing but the best from her. There were some make-up looks over the years which did not add to Ayeza’s beauty or compliment it.

Here are those 10 worst make-up looks which did not go well with Ayeza Khan’s features.

Excessive Highlighting

This make-up look was trending at the time when Ayeza Khan also joined the bandwagon and decided to go with the flow. While some other models successfully carried this look, Ayeza Khan did not look like herself in these pictures. There is a lot of highlighting on the cheeks and not enough color on the face. From a distance, this make-up look seems pretty cool but a close-up shows that this is definitely not the kind of make-up look that looked the best on Ayeza.

The Most Made-up Bridal Look

Ayeza Khan looks gorgeous in bridal looks. In fact, she has been the one who sported some of the prettiest bridal looks ever since she joined the industry. There have however also have been times when the make-up artists did not do justice to her pretty face. This bridal look is one such example of a bridal look gone wrong. The color of those lenses and the shade of the lipstick, in particular, gave Ayeza Khan an overall look which was not at all soft.

Glowy But Unappealing

Glowy skin is trending nowadays but Ayeza Khan’s look in this photoshoot was more dusty than glowy. It was almost as if the make-up artist tried to make Ayeza look like a mannequin. Ayeza Khan’s soft features did not look the same because of excessive highlighting and contouring. This is definitely not among her best looks.

Experimenting Gone Wrong

Ayeza Khan decided to experiment a lot when she did one of her photoshoots with Natasha Salon. This was one of those looks which went terribly wrong. It is clear by looking at this look that Ayeza cannot pull off the nerdy but stylish make-up look. The choice of the color palette is another problematic aspect of this look.

10 Worst Make-up Looks of Ayeza Khan

Ayeza Khan or Mehwish Hayat?

While looking at this picture one has a difficult time figuring out whether this is Ayeza Khan’s picture or Mehwish Hayat’s! Celebrity make-up artist, Akif Illyas has given Ayeza Khan some of her best bridal looks but this is not one of them. He has a tendency of changing the face cuts and features of the celebrities so much with his make-up techniques that sometimes they are unrecognizable. In this look, the hairstyle and the make-up are such that Ayeza’s face looks longer and at first glance, she looks like Mehwish Hayat. The contouring and blusher are also not on point and the choice of lipstick color is terrible.

10 Worst Make-up Looks of Ayeza Khan10 Worst Make-up Looks of Ayeza Khan

A Little Too Traditional & Heavy

With new make-up trends and styling techniques, it is difficult to imagine how a make-up artist can give a celebrity with such beautiful features such a not-so-fresh but more sparkly look. This picture was part of a photoshoot that Ayeza Khan did for Nadia Hussain’s salon. Nadia Hussain’s classic glittery eyes and bold lips style did not suit Ayeza Khan at all. The hairstyle also looks too primitive.

10 Worst Make-up Looks of Ayeza Khan

Too Caked-up

The brides nowadays prefer a look which isn’t too caked-up yet Ayeza Khan looked anything but subtle in this bridal look. Everything about this look is wrong from the make-up to the heavy jewelry. The purple lipstick just adds to the reasons why this look is one of the worst Ayeza sported in the past few years.

10 Worst Make-up Looks of Ayeza Khan

The Unfinished Look

Looking at this bridal look it seems the make-up artist was in a hurry and therefore did not give the finishing touches to this make-up look. The lipstick if too casual for such a formal look, the styling does not compliment Ayeza’s face-cut at all and there is barely any contouring to define the jawline.

10 Worst Make-up Looks of Ayeza Khan

Ayeza Khan or Javeria Saud?

This is yet another one of those make-up looks which transformed Ayeza Khan to such an extent that in the first look it seems like this is Javeria Saud and not Ayeza! Whether it is editing or the make-up itself, this look does not pass as one of the best.

10 Worst Make-up Looks of Ayeza Khan

Overdone Eye Make-up

This look would have been perfect had it not been for the overdone eye make-up. The liner on the top and under the eyes gives Ayeza Khan an overall look which is not pleasing to the eyes. She looks like an angry woman ready to attack someone! One thing is for sure that such looks do not look appealing on Ayeza’s soft features.

10 Worst Make-up Looks of Ayeza Khan

Some of these make-up artists definitely did not do justice to Ayeza Khan’s pretty face but she still manages to pull many such looks through which others can’t.

10 Worst Dressed Celebrities At Hum Style Awards 2024

Hum Style Awards is a time for Pakistani celebrities to go out and showcase their personal style mixed in with some avant garde and get rid of their usual drama looks of innocent, straight laced desi girls and boys. Last night came on the latest edition of the show and many seasoned and new celebrities graced the red carpet in their own personal looks. Though the show is about style, many participants probably mistook it for their very own version of Desi Met Gala and came up in costumes rather than stylish looks. Yes, we must mention here that style is subjective and though one look can be gorgeous to one person and horrendous to others so interpretations can vary. But here is our list of 10 worst dressed celebrities at the Desi Met Gala, oh sorry, Hum Style Awards 2024:

1. Hazim Bangwar

Hazim Bangwar is a civil servant and ex-assistant commissioner of North Nazimabad Karachi. He has worked wonders for his city before he was transferred somewhere else. Hazim Bangwar is known for his unique fashion and how soft-spoken and professional he is. He is an artist at heart and last night he did come in a Met Gala inspired look. He looked like he came straight out of Aquaman the movie but in his defense he himself said that he is treating Hum Style Awards as the Met Gala.

2. Hania Aamir

Hania Aamir is a beautiful woman and she did win the Most Stylish Actress Television award last night but her look was confusing. She wore a hot pink suit inspired by the Palestinian Keffiyah but the patterns accentuating the crotch area and the weird length of her jacket did not make her look good. Hania was wearing Nomi Ansari but the look did nothing for her last night.

3. Bilal Saeed

Bilal Saeed is a music icon but he also mistook the Hum Style Awards memo as the desi Met Gala. The tassels, the statement trousers, the jacket, it all looked less style and more costume. Props to the singer to feature a Free Palestine Sign on his jacket but that is probably where the praise will end. Here is what he looked like:

4. Shahroz Sabzwari

The vest paired with those wide-legged trousers made us think what Shahroz Sabzwari was thinking. The guy was in competition with the likes of Wahaj Ali and Mohib Mirza and he picked up the trophy of Most Stylish Man on Television. At least he could have put an effort to make it look more like a red carpet look and less of a sundowner brunch party.

5. Aamna Ilyas

Aamna Ilyas’s look last night was a mix of night club and Dwight from The Office. Aamna is a supermodel and she can carry a sack if she is pushed into one but she should not have been pushed into one and should have worn something that compliemented her look and beauty. The golden and brown extravaganza did nothing for her style.

6. Aima Baig

Aima Baig is the female pop queen of Pakistan right now. People love her music and she sure has her own style which one can recognize but why did she think of wearing a shimmery mini dress last night and then paired it with tights which made her look short and unstylish. Her look had nothing for style and her hair did not match the outfit either.

10 Worst Dressed Celebrities At Hum Style Awards 2024

7. Alizeh Shah

Alizeh Shah probably thought that she wanted to look like Kylie Jenner and dressed as her from the Schiaparelli show this year. The black dress and the weird shawl looking appendage attached to it did nothing for Alizeh Shah. Her hair and makeup were not up to the mark either and she also got caught within the boundary.

For those who want to see the real one this one is inspired by. Here it is:

10 Worst Dressed Celebrities At Hum Style Awards 2024

8. Khaqan Shahnawaz

Khaqan Shahnawaz is a very handsome guy as quoted by himself in an interview. He knows he has a fair complexion and he has the typical good looks. But why the new actor thought of wearing that silk lapelled jacket is beyond us. He looked inspired by Twilight’s Edward Cullen for his look at the Hum Style Awards 2024.

10 Worst Dressed Celebrities At Hum Style Awards 2024

9. Mariyam Nafees

Mryam Nafees was a hundred percent not excited for this show and she probably recycled a saari she was supposed to wear at a friend’s walima. The green saari was more of wedding guest attire than Hum Style Awards appropriate awrdrobe.

10. Zarmeena Ikram

The world just saw Zarmeena Ikram in her vamp Starplus era as Shahmeer Sikandar’s step-mother and looks like she wants to live in her Komolika phase for a bit longer. The saari Zarmeena wore looked simply bad and did not compliment her at all. Her hair and makeup was good though and she definitely needed to choose another outfit.

These were our 10 worst dressed celebrities of Hum Style Awards 2024. Which celebrity’s look did you think was not up to the mark?

10 Worst Dressed Celebrities At Hum 20 Year Celebration

Pakistani celebrities were seen at the big 20 year celebration of Hum Network this Saturday night. The show was full of music, dance and celebration as one of the biggest networks in the country completed two decades in the business. Stars were seen shining on the red carpet and we got to see many good eastern looks at this one. Some however faltered and were not able to impress with their outfits.

10 Worst Dressed Celebrities At Hum 20 Year Celebration

Though Hum 20 year celebrations pulled largely better looks than any award show, some still were not up to the mark and could have been much better. Here is a list:

Nadia Hussain

10 Worst Dressed Celebrities At Hum 20 Year Celebration

Nadia Hussain Khan is a supermodel, actress and business person. She has done it all and she obviously comes from the fashion world and knows what is on trend but she always ends up representing her brand Bling by Nadia through her looks. She once again went for a bit too much bling and looked inspired by early 2000s Paris Hilton. Not a good look and she ended up getting a spot on the worst dressed celebrities of the evening.

Urwa Hocane

10 Worst Dressed Celebrities At Hum 20 Year Celebration

Urwa Hocane is thankfully out of her all white phase but she has gotten into a bit too much colour perhaps. Her outfit from the evening was too wedding attire and the work looked too much against her complexion. The heavy work on the shirt and spaghetti straps were not looking complimentary either. Urwa Hocane is among the most beautiful Pakistani celebrities and she can do much better.

Amna Ilyas

10 Worst Dressed Celebrities At Hum 20 Year Celebration

Amna Ilyas is also among the worst dressed celebrities of the night. She experiments generally and since she is a supermodel, she carries everything well but not this time. The colour of her saari was all wrong and washed her out completely. A jewel toned saari would have made her look way better and not as blank as her makeup looked.

Anoushey Abbasi

10 Worst Dressed Celebrities At Hum 20 Year Celebration

Anoushey Abbasi is a beautiful girl but this time around she also gets a slot on the worst dressed celebrities list. She unfortunately reminded everyone of Paddle Pop with her skirt. The colour, the silhouette was all wrong and her outfit also looked like it was not ironed properly.

Aarez Ahmed

10 Worst Dressed Celebrities At Hum 20 Year Celebration

Aarez Ahmed is also among the celebrities that showed up for this event. He is a new father and those late night feedings are no joke but why did Aarez choose that suit will remain a mystery. He is a handsome star but that outfit did nothing for his look. His wife was a sunshine beside him but he could have done much better.

Ahad Raza Mir

10 Worst Dressed Celebrities At Hum 20 Year Celebration

Ahad Raza Mir is one of the most important celebrities in the Hum TV roster. He showed up at the event with his parents. His suit looked bland and he seemed like he just woke up and grabbed whatever was hanging in his closet in order to attend the celebration as he could not skip it despite trying. A poor effort from his side.

Nida Yasir

10 Worst Dressed Celebrities At Hum 20 Year Celebration

Nida Yasir is also among celebrities who showed up for the Hum 20 year celebrations and she unfortunately lands on this list. Her hair and makeup were great but her outfit had too much happening at the same time. The work, the colours and combinations, nothing was working in this outfit.

Zeb Bangash

10 Worst Dressed Celebrities At Hum 20 Year Celebration

Zeb Bangash is a big name in the music industry of Pakistan. She is always dressed gracefully and opts for safe choices. She wore a gold outfit, another traditional but it did not look great. The sleeve length, the bodice of the shirt and the colour were all wrong. She can do much better.

Ayesha Omar

10 Worst Dressed Celebrities At Hum 20 Year Celebration

Ayesha Omar surprisingly joins the list of worst dressed celebrities this time. She is among the best dressed people in the whole country but this time she shocked her fans with the outfit choice. Her look was more of an airport look and she did not seem to be dressed for such a formal event.

Khaqan Shahnawaz

10 Worst Dressed Celebrities At Hum 20 Year Celebration

Khaqan Shahnawaz also owns a clothing brand and he is the new generation star. He mostly makes an effort at least but this time his lack of effort got him a spot on this list. At least the shirt could have looked properly ironed.

Which look you think deserves a spot on the list other than these? Share in comments!

10 Worst Characters From Current Dramas

18

The story of any drama is taken forward with the help of characters. They play an important part in making or breaking the drama. It can be stated that characters are the building blocks and backbone of any story because the writers conceive them and with the help of their circumstances and scenarios, convey the entire story and the message they have in their mind. A lot of times, though the story may not work, there are often such characters that end up being memorable. Similarly, at times dramas become popular but the characters lack the impact in order to become unforgettable.

In Pakistani dramas, the viewers come across different varieties of characters, in general they are either good or bad because they serve the purpose and stay true to what they have been written for. Then comes such a category which makes one question the thought process of the writer. Such characters are neither good or bad, they are in fact the worst characters that the drama buffs come across. Many times, they leave the viewers speechless and end up being the reason behind their frustration. The current dramas on air right now are not devoid of such characters. The writers have tried hard to give them a personality but their reasoning and overall attitude is poorly executed and makes them the worst character in a drama.

Let’s take a look at 10 worst characters that can be seen in the dramas that are currently being aired:

Saira (Mai Na Janoo)

This character touches all levels of stupidity and unreasonability. She is one of those one-dimensional characters who loves to get involved in self-imposed misery. She was shown to have been raised in a toxic environment with her father and his second wife mistreating her mother. However, she got married to her cousin Nain, who has time and again done everything to let her know that he will never doubt her, he will never question her and in fact, he will always be there for her. Her cousin and ex-boyfriend Nihaad fails to get the message that Saira is now married, therefore he pesters her like a pest. His job is nothing else, however this is where Saira enters the room of worst characters ever. Even after Nain has let her know that she can share everything with him, she chooses to stay silent and keep it a secret from him that Nihaad visits their place at late hours. She has full fledged conversations with him and now, her majboori touched a new low when she allowed Nihaad to celebrate her birthday at 12AM. She not only lies to her husband but also visits the venue where Nihaad had made special arrangements. Imagine being SO majboor that you have to celebrate your birthday when you don’t want to. Also, the list of lies that she has told keeps on getting bigger and Sanam Jung surely has made it very obvious that she has forgotten how to act. The latka latka ke rona only to add more weightage to her bechargi is quite frustrating!

10 Worst Characters From Current Dramas

Kiran (Mai Na Janoo)

Another namoona of this drama; Kiran happens to be the worst character as well. She has clearly seen how her cousin Nihaad has been madly in love with her sister Saira, so much so that he even abducted her from her mehndi function. Nihaad has stalled his wedding with Kiran. He is someone who does not believe in being subliminal, in fact he has clearly let everyone know what he feels for Saira, so much so that even her marriage doesn’t mean anything to him YET, there’s Kiran, who decided to get married to Nihaad against all odds only to turn into a bechari. Nihaad’s attitude has not changed, he is a villain and he continues to be that, but surprise surprise, it is only after her marriage to Nihaad that now she can see what he feels for Saira and chooses not to move on? Why did she choose to take a leap of faith when she knew that Nihaad was in love with Saira and not giving up? Nothing justifies her bewakoofi and oh, get ready for some buckets full of tears because intelligently, this is the fate Kiran fought for and chose for herself, taaliyan!

10 Worst Characters From Current Dramas

Zeeshan (Kahin Deep Jalay)

Before reading this paragraph, I urge you to lower your voice and slow down the pace only to reenact how Zeeshan speaks and to understand how frustrating it not only is to speak like that but to listen to it too. Zeeshan’s problem is that he is too sensitive, he could cry at the fact that a fly sat on his plate of food, or a wind touches his hair. He is a pessimist who only loves to see negatives in any given situation. Zeeshan fell in love with Rida who belonged to a rich family. Before the marriage he decided to give majnu a run for his money with all the cheesy talks of pyaar mohabbat ke kasmain waday but after his marriage, he immediately realized that his peanut sized ego was hurting by being a good husband and Voila! That gave birth to the real Zeeshan who is a liar as well. This meesna bhola Zeehan has now all the germs of a typical husband because he is keeping his biggest biological secret from Rida and instead of addressing the elephant in the room, he continues to make her feel less worthy. Zeeshan has been holding Rida accountable for things she is not even responsible for, like she belonging to a wealthy family, like her brothers loving her and going out of the way for her. Imran Ashraf is a brilliant actor but his overacting in portraying the bechargi of Zeeshan has also made this character impossible to tolerate.

10 Worst Characters From Current Dramas

Khadija (Kahin Deep Jalay)

I fail to understand how was it shown that before her eldest son Faham’s marriage, this family was a living example of love and mera ghar meri jannat because as the story has progressed, Khadija has shown no signs of being in control of her children or the situations that they are facing, which easily could have been avoided. The writer has tried to hold Shameela Bhabhi responsible for the misery of Khadija and her entire family, however as we see it, Khadija is equally responsible too. Ever since Khadija learnt the truth about Shameela Bhabhi, she went on a mourn-vrat spree and did not intervene to stop things from worsening. There had been thousands of situations which could’ve easily avoided IF Khadija had opened up her mouth in stead of stuffing it with BP ki goliyan. She allowed things to escalate for the worst and then held Shameela responsible. It’s been probably 10 episodes but we are still waiting to hear one dialogue from Khadija because all she does is cry, nod her head, go to her room and lie on the bed, taaliyan!

10 Worst Characters From Current Dramas

Munazzah Chachi (Thora Sa Haq)

Not sure whether to mention her with her actual name or her attributes; as in Munazzah Chachi or Manipulator Chachi. This character is a perfect case of manipulator, someone who has all the tacts up her sleeves to survive an apocalypse. Ever heard of cockroaches knowing how to survive the atomic explosion – nothing against the actor but her characters reminds us of this scientific fact. Isn’t it amazing that for most part of her life, she has succeeded in living in a home which doesn’t belong to her. She is someone who doesn’t know what sincerity is. She will end up being best friends with the one who she thinks will help her one way or the other. This is the reason despite hating Rabia Tayi, she has always listened to her and has done everything that would make the owner of her house happy. Rabia Tayi might look irrational but she is transparent, she is who she is but when it comes to Manipulator Chachi, she is an opportunist. It is interesting to note that most of the time, the sick ideas that are executed by Rabia Tayi are brewed in Munazzah’s mind, but she makes sure that when the actual plan takes place, no one knows she was the mastermind behind it. She has stabbed Rabia Tayi, she has also stabbed her husband and even her son Zamin was not spared because she initiated his fake divorce by getting the deed from the lawyer but made it look like it was Rabia who was behind all this. Very cunning bhai!

10 Worst Characters From Current Dramas

Zamin (Thora Sa Haq)

Before the recently aired episode, Zamin did not show any redeeming qualities and we are not sure if that will change our opinion of him anytime soon. Zamin is a human version of ping pong ball, shuttlecock, tennis ball, pendulum; any such object which swings between people without any control over himself, his body, his mind or his emotions. For the large part of this drama, Zamin had no idea what he was supposed to do and even if he wanted to make things right, he let women around him manipulate him. Zamin was in love with his cousin Hareem all his life but the moment he saw the dari sehmi halat ki mari majboor bechari dukhyari dunya ki satai Rabia tayi ki dassi hui Seher, Zamin could not hold himself and decided that he had to fall in love with her. So much for the sake of love that he could not undo even 1% of the continuous torture that Seher was subjected to. Zamin fell in love with Seher, he fell out of love with Hareem quickly but just after a seduction session initiated by his manipulative mother using Hareem, he decided that he had to fulfill his husbandly duties therefore went on a honeymoon with her by sending some money Seher’s way so that she could take it as a compensation for dealing with this heartbreak. Zamin and his slithering ways!

10 Worst Characters From Current Dramas

Shahista Chachi (Deewar e Shab)

She is a perfect case of becoming someone who she hated the most. Shahista spent her entire marital life seeing her jethani Shakira being a perfect example of how one should not be; rude, arrogant and inconsiderate. Shahista hated her jethani Shakira for exactly all these things that she herself has started doing now. It was like in Shahista’s life there was nothing else than to obsess over her jethani Shakira, that is why by idealizing her for so many years, she ended up being her carbon copy. It is hard to understand why one would change for the worse because as we all know, age brings maturity and wisdom but in Shahista’s case, this seems to be a myth because her age has only brought her arrogance and nothing else. Frustrating character for sure!

10 Worst Characters From Current Dramas

Zubia (Thora Sa Haq)

Being a negative character is one thing but being one without any solid reason is another which makes you qualified for a worst character list. Zubia was all goody good with Seher when she found out that Seher will be living in a mansion in Karachi, so much so that Zubia decided to barge into her home and imagined living a comfortable life while pursuing her education in Karachi? Like how unreasonable it is to begin with. When Seher could not allow her to camp in her house, Zubia decided to show her true colors. As if there are no hostels in Karachi where she could live and complete her studies? Now when Seher has come back, she has done everything to make her life miserable; taunting at a speed of 200 taunts/second is Zubia’s prowess. She holds Seher responsible for her ruined future, which makes me wonder how all those brilliant students are managing their lives who have traveled to Karachi from all over Pakistan? I so wish Zubia’s parents had allowed her to get educated because she is in dire need of it!

10 Worst Characters From Current Dramas

Khayyam (Deewar e Shab)

This character fails to make one understand his purpose. It is understandable that he has led an unfavorable life where things did not go according to his likes and dislikes. However, he decided to take charge of the situation and do what pleases him but that’s about it. He complained half of the drama and the other half, he has been sporting the angry bird look, what for? The reasons are still a mystery. There’s absolutely no character development, no growth, absolutely nothing that Khayyam offers. It makes one frustrated to understand the purpose of this purposeless character. It can be given to him that he is working hard to fend for himself and experiencing life through his struggles but other than that, the poker faced character lacks any depth or may be the way it has been portrayed by Shehroz Sabzwari makes it harder to tolerate.

10 Worst Characters From Current Dramas

All The Uncles (Jo Tu Chahay)

It will not only be time consuming, as well as pointless to describe them separately because all of them are exactly the same. It is like the writer wrote some points and etched all the male characters based on exactly those basic ideas because the similarities in them and their unmanliness is uncanny. Be it Armaan, be it Abbas, Obaid or even Burhaan, they all are the worst lot of male characters from the current dramas. Maybe the writer couldn’t do something extra to make the good boy Hashir look good, therefore she made the rest of them brainless, spineless and everything less so that Hashir could stand out for being different. These men lack basic senses of right and wrong, they are unable to control their family matters which have been ruined due to their lack of spine. This entire drama is a perfect case of black and white characters where the negative ones are too negative and the positive ones are too positive but guess what, the positive ones have no spine which makes them the worst characters!

10 Worst Casting Choices In Pakistani Dramas Right Now

10 Worst Casting Choices In Pakistani Dramas Right Now

Worst Casting choices in Pakistani dramas right now are from some of the most-watched dramas. Dramas are the ultimate guilty pleasure for the Pakistani nation. They are the main entertainment source in the country. Everyone is most likely to watch one or two dramas at least across their lifetimes even if they are not avid drama watchers.

Every season we get Pakistani dramas that become incredibly popular either for being too good or for having a high dose of masala. Casting plays an important role in how much a drama will win the audience. Sometimes wrong casting choices can ruin the whole show.

Here are a 10 casting choices in Pakistani dramas right nowthat are not getting a lot of love for various reasons:

Amar Khan In Dil e Nadan

10 Worst Casting Choices In Pakistani Dramas Right Now

Amar Khan is playing the very innocent and naive Dur e Nayab in the new drama Dil e Nadan. The show is airing on Geo TV and the character has gotten a lot of hate since the very start. Amar Khan is a good actress and she has proved herself several times but this character is just not made for her. A much younger actress may have looked better as she is shown as a college student.

Apart from this, there is plenty of over exaggeration in the performance to make up for the miscasting. The direction is not doing her any favours either and the scenes are all extremely over the top. Amar Khan was definitely not the right choice for this role which is why she did not get public or critics’ approval.

Hareem Farooq In Bismil

10 Worst Casting Choices In Pakistani Dramas Right Now

Hareem Farooq has taken a new character with Masooma who is anything but masoom! Masooma at the core of it all is a gold digger who will do anything to fulfil her dreams. This character however has an interesting arc overall. Hareem is playing her character opposite stars like Nauman Ijaz and Savera Nadeem.

Masooma is supposed to be from a lower middle-class background but Hareem Farooq has failed to bring that aspect of her character to life aptly. There are discrepancies in the character and acting which make Hareem unsuitable as Masooma. The drama however has just started so this character has some margin for improvement left but so far Hareem Farooq is anything but a good fit in the role. In the recent episode, she failed terribly in portraying Masooma’s inner conflict. Hareem has not been able to add the nuances that would have made Masooma a much more interesting character.

Saad Qureshi In Bismil

10 Worst Casting Choices In Pakistani Dramas Right Now

Saad Qureshi is playing Moosa, the son of Savera Nadeem and Nauman Ijaz  in Bismil. The character is supposed to be the only son of two very charismatic parents but Saad has not been able to bring that kind of oomph in his performance.  His accent in particular has to be the biggest reason for him being a misfit. Moosa has not just been raised by educated parents, but he has also studied abroad, yet he does not sound like someone polished. This is an important character that could have been given to an actor who would do justice to it.

Momal In Bismil

10 Worst Casting Choices In Pakistani Dramas Right Now

Another weak casting in Bismil comes with Musa’s fiance Momal as she has not been able to perform well. She is a new artist and may take time to settle on screen. She is also not able to live up to the aura created by her co-stars and looks out of place in an otherwise perfect environment. Very often, Pakistani directors fail to cast appropriate actors for portraying the upper class and that is exactly what happened in this case as well.

Hira Khan In Aik Chubhan Si

10 Worst Casting Choices In Pakistani Dramas Right Now

Hira Khan plays Maheen in the Hum TV drama Aik Chubhan Si. Hira has been carefully selecting her roles since she started acting and she has done some great work in a short period. She is now playing Maheen in Aik Chubhan Si where her beauty and style will captivate a man in destroying his marriage and the wife of that man is Sonya Hussyn.

The styling could have saved this casting if it was better but it is not working out right now. Hira Khan is simply not the kind of actor who could bring such a character to life. It is difficult to understand the appeal that Maheen is supposed to possess because of the casting.

Natasha In Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum

10 Worst Casting Choices In Pakistani Dramas Right Now

Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum is one of the biggest dramas on air right now. Every character is getting a lot of attention and nowadays Natasha is the talk of the town. She is Rubab’s friend and Adeel is all set to cheat on his wife with her. Natasha is supposed to be someone on Rubab’s scale and even better but she is just not looking to be of Adeel’s standard. She does not seem as rich as Rubab nor someone a guy like Adeel would replace Rubab with. A bit of a miscast in an otherwise perfect drama.

Haroon Shahid In Jaan Nisar

10 Worst Casting Choices In Pakistani Dramas Right Now

Haroon Shahid plays the villain Sarfaraz in the blockbuster Jaan Nisar. Haroon Shahid is trying his best and he has brought a vampish streak forward for this character but he looks like a nice person and sometimes there is a disconnect between the character and the actor. Apart from this, Sarfraz is supposed to be this charming young man every woman falls for; Haroon is falling short in that department as well.

Laiba Khan In Teri Chhaon Mein

10 Worst Casting Choices In Pakistani Dramas Right Now

Laiba Khan is a content creator and she made her acting debut opposite Danish Taimoor in Hum TV’s Teri Chhaon Mein. It was a typical Danish Taimoor masala drama that got ratings but Laiba Khan’s performance was not great. This was her first project so it was understandable but she looked a bit uncomfortable on screen throughout.

Sami Khan In Kaffara

10 Worst Casting Choices In Pakistani Dramas Right Now

Sami Khan is a famous child star who is moving towards adult characters now. He is playing a stupid and evil character Zohaib who is never able to tell right from wrong. The character was meant to look like someone you hate and Sami should have changed his styling a bit to fit more into it. He looks too positive for such a negative character.

Sahiba In Kaffara

10 Worst Casting Choices In Pakistani Dramas Right Now

Sahiba is Salar’s fiance in Kaffara. She is supposed to be this go getter, independent girl who has everything settled in her life. She went on to fall for Salar played by Ali Ansari and she is now all in for the guy. A girl like that should have self-respect and care for her own life and career rather than following a person who has no interest in her. Moreover, the actress looks neither the independent go getter nor a girl dying to get Salar. She just looks uninterested in all her scenes which is making her casting a bit weird. Someone like Sukaina Khan would have been a far better choice for this role.
