Pakistani drama content has been getting a lot of criticism lately for showing toxicity and abuse not just by the audience and critics but from within the industry as well. Many people were appalled by what was portrayed on screen and now Yasir Hussain has also criticized the drama. The actor was a guest on Freiha Altaf’s podcast where he spoke about what was on his mind.

Yasir said that though our films are censored so heavily but that is where the audience decides to watch the content when they buy tickets but in dramas, people are being trained and information is being programmed in them for free. A drama where a guy who snatches a girl away from her father is shown as a hero and the girl falls for him in the end.

The Pakistan International Screen Awards aka PISA 2020, was held yesterday in Dubai. The management team of PISA has received severe criticism for mismanagement and disrespecting celebrities.

Feroze Khan got divorced recently and he has been in a lot of legal trouble since. It all started with his custody battle with ex-wife Syeda Aliza Sultan. During the trial information about alleged domestic during their marriage got leaked. This was picked up by social media and many artists also reacted to it calling out Feroze.

Another Pakistan film is all set to go on floors and it is Yasra Rizvi’s Senti Aur Mental. It is also produced and directed by her. Senti Aur Mental seems like a comedy drama as the name is suggesting. The film was going to start filming a few years back but couldn’t due to unexplained reasons. Yasir Hussain and Yasra Rizvi herself were going to be the lead cast of the film but the time passed and now the cast change has happened as Yasir Hussain will not be playing the lead role opposite Yasra. Yasir Hussain has experience with film making as he has been a part of Karachi Se Lahore series. But now he has been replaced by the Sanwari actor Zain Afzal.

Yasir Hussain is an actor, director, producer and host. He has managed several avenues and he has always shined in every aspect. He is right now part of a theatre play which he has been promoting and he has been interacting with the media a lot. He was a guest on Samaa morning show and he gave his two cents on the Youtubers debate.

The adorable duo Iqra Aziz and Yasir Hussain tied the knot on December 28, 2019. Their wedding ceremony made headlines all over the country and their fans welcomed the couple with much love and affection. The couple was blessed with a baby boy in July 2021.

Lately, Yasir Hussain taking to his official Instagram handle penned down a lovely birthday wish for his wife. Yasir Hussain poured his heart into a sweet birthday wish for Iqra. Yasir shared an adorable picture on his Instagram and expressed his love for his gorgeous wife. “Happy Birthday Bivi number 1, samajh toh aap gai hi hongi . I love you kehny ki zaroorat nahi hai kyon k mohabbat ki nishani kabir hussain hamary sath hai (Mashallah)”, wrote Yasir.

Yasir Hussain is known for his controversies and controversial personality. He speaks on every issue. He even courageously talks about other co-actors of industry.

Recently, the actor has opened up about being controversial. In an interview to BBC he said, ‘ tell me , those who asked controversial questions are right? , those who runs it on their channels are okay, only the person who is answering is being targeted as controversial ‘

He said that these channels are Hippocrates and they are like that from the day one.

He said that the people from industry calls him when he talks something controversial about industry. He said that the others don’t have courage to say anything that’s why they love hearing him.

He further said that if they don’t like him they should unfollow him.

Yasir Hussain and Iqra Aziz have finally tied the knot. The duo looked absolutely gorgeous and very much in love throughout their wedding festivities which consisted of a mayun, mehendi, shadi and valima reception. After his wedding, Yasir Hussain took to his social media to share a heartfelt message with his fans and followers talking about a simple wedding and how they had broken norms by not indulging in useless traditions and dowry.

Posting a picture of his hand holding Iqra’s Yasir wrote, “bhaiyon aur behno.. shadi itni mushkil cheez nahi hai jitna hum ne mil k usy bana dia hai . mai ne shadi gher mai hi karni thi magar choti jagah ki wajah se gher se bahar shift ki. hum ne aik dosry ki families ko koi ghairzaroori gifts nahi diye.. jahez nahi lia. bari nahi bani. fazool zevraat pe paisy kharch nahi kiye. nikah khwan k 8000 aur khana hasb e istetaat. shadi bus yehi hai . apny gher walon pe rehem karen aur Shadi ko asaan banaen.”

The gist of Yasir’s message was how people had been making weddings difficult because of useless spendings. Yasir added how his and Iqra’s family had refrained from gifting each other the traditional gifts and instead opted for a simple wedding feast that they could easily afford. No dowry was taken and no money was spent on jewelry or whatsoever. Yasir urged the masses to make weddings easier for one’s ownself and their families.

Yasir’s message has been met with all sorts of comments from his fans and followers, with most of them appreciating his efforts.

Yasir Hussain is finally in defense mode and he is ready to blame others for his words. In his Insta story, he said that if he is wrong then those shows in which these questions are asked are also wrong and those channels that cast these shows are also wrong.

Yasir also said that those bloggers who add spices to the news are also wrong and so are the readers. Everyone is wrong here. He also demanded to stop these rapid-fire and truth and dare segments. Yasir said that he has evidence that Nausheen Shah came to the wedding forcefully.

While appearing on Bol Nights with Faysal Quraishi, Yasir Hussain recalled a daring wish expressed by Saba Qamar during the shooting of their film Lahore Se Aagaey which was released in 2016.

Talking about Saba Qamar’s wish, Yasir Hussain said,
“In 2016, while we were filming Lahore Se Aagey, there was a sequence where I had to hold Saba on my back and run on a bridge. It was an easy task for me because Saba is lean. The shot came out beautifully, but I don’t know what came into Saba’s mind that she asked Wajahat Rauf, ‘Why does the hero always hold the heroine, and why can’t I hold him in the scene?’ Wajahat refused at first, but Saba insisted and carried me on her back, running a few steps. Unfortunately, she ended up injuring herself, and her back was frozen for three days, yet she still completed the shoot. Similarly, I was doing a scene with Ayesha where she had to hit me with her leg. She performed the shot with full force, and the same thing happened to her, but she also completed her work with great dedication and hard work.” Watch here:

Yasir Hussain is a family man. Coming from a big family with 10 siblings, he was always artistic and understood the imprtance of family bonding and sicking together through thick and thin. He was very close to both hisvfather and his mother and heir teachings still rule how Yasir lives his life. Yasir spoke about his parents in an interview with Noor ul Hassan and shared some important things.

Yasir revealed that his father had cancer and it has metastasized all over his body. He was in a lot of pain for 9 months and they used to hear him all day. Yasir said that when his father passed away, a part of him felt relieved that his father was finally not in pain anymore. He still remebers him everyday and his afther is one of the most important parts of his life.

Yasir opined that Pakistanis are generally not very expressive with their parents as you get into financial struggle as soon as you grow up. You want to support your family and therefore the love somewhat goes into the background. This is what Yasir thinks:

Yasir also shared how families change once parents pass away. They keep all the children together in a manner and when they pass away, that tread breaks, the balance gets disturbed and things do not remain like they were when the parents are alive.
