Yakeen Ka Safar Last Episode Review – A Journey So Perfect!

Oh well, what a beautiful end of a beautiful journey but I will be honest, did we get enough of Asfand & Zubiya? I am sure all the viewers here will unanimously say no because we all wanted more of them. This episode no doubt was beautiful & complete but it still has left the fan of love stories in me wanting to see more. I am glad I get to watch the dramas with such special scenes alone because I can bawl my eyes out without being noticed, lol. Even though this episode had a slow start but the note at which it ended left me feeling content, but I am still saying, I wanted to see more.

So, Asfand on his own was struggling to put two & two together ever since he found out that Zubiya was the girl he saved years ago. Asfand’s call to Mahjabeen was basically his attempt to know what transpired in Zubiya’s life for her to end up at such a remote area because even Asfand could feel that there was more to Zubiya’s simple answer where he stated that she liked her life being full of challenges. Asfand could sense that things must not have been easy for Zubiya that is why he tried to get some details without probing too much & what he heard from Mahjabeen further confirmed his fears that his Zubiya, the girl that he loves with all his heart went through so much & dealt with everything on her own. It definitely moved Asfand & made her feel for her a lot.

Asfand telling his family that they should forget about his marriage went to show the confusion that he had because he was unable to come to a conclusion as to how he should approach Zubiya & talk to her about her past. Gaiti’s concerns for both of them were quite sweet, like she genuinely wanted to see Zubiya & Asfand together, that is why she was keen to know if there was anything that she could do!

Well, Rehan came to the hospital & the moment Zubiya saw him there, she lost her sense of rationality. The way Zubiya felt restless went to show the negative impact Rehan had on her mind, on her heart & on her soul that just by seeing him there, she knew that things were going to go wrong. Even though Zubiya picked up the pieces, composed herself & came to terms with the fact that she had no one except her Khala, still just the sight of Rehan was enough for her to do something so reckless because given her past, she assumed that he would only bring more miseries her way. Who could’ve imagined that a girl who always taught others to be strong, who wanted others to survive no matter what comes their way could think of ending her own life? It showed the amount of mental torture she went through which pushed her to such a limit. Zubiya was all alone & because she learnt to live alone, she decided to end her life without thinking about anyone else as she believed she had no one who would care.

Well, Rehan & Asfand had a conversation, where Rehan came clean & gave away everything which was a burden on his mind, Asfand got to share Zubiya’s perspective & told Rehan how she struggled, how she survived that too after going through so much. I loved how this moment made Asfsnd realize that he couldn’t live without Zubiya, he realized what she meant to him & most importantly, it made his heart ache for her even more because he got to know everything that she has been through!

Now coming towards the best scene of the episode & the entire drama; Asfand & Zubiya’s conversation. It was again conveyed like all other moments that they had shared till date – very few meaningful dialogues but filled with so many emotions. Asfand got to tell Zubiya how much he loved her but how hurt he was as he expected her to trust him a bit more than she did. Zubiya obviously still felt that she didn’t deserve him but Asfand assured that nothing mattered to him anymore, her past or whatever she has been through, it just didn’t matter because all he knew was that he wanted to spend his life with her. I loved the expressions on Zubiya’s face where in the middle of all those tears, a smile appeared on her face whe she got to know how much Asfand loved her, it was like after a long long time, she felt relieved that she didn’t have to hide anything from Asfand & that all he cared about was Zubiya & nothing else. I must say I loved that frame which showed Zubiya peacefully sleeping while Asfand was standing looking at her, all heavy hearted. The flowers near Zubiya’s bed & that entire frame gave me Sleeping Beauty vibes. ♡

Well, they chose to end the drama with a narration which told that everything was perfect & everyone was happy. All because of Zubiya’s guidance Khajista chose to educate herself. Gaiti & Haroon got married & so did Asfand & Zubiya. As typical as it may sound, I so wish they had shown us everyone like a big happy family having a time of their lives together because where we saw them crying, we deserved to see them sharing a few laughs too. Even though I totally get that this was not meant to be seen as a love story, but since they made Asfand & Zubiya’s relationship so so special, I feel I wanted to see more of them, may be 1 more episode showing them as a happily married couple!?! Sigh!

Well, what can I say about this entire journey, it made us cry & it made us smile, it made us feel for all the characters because right from the beginning this drama was set in such a way that it stirred the emotions & struck a chord every single time. Even though I felt this drama lost its charm after Daniyal’s death because things became too stagnant, but after Asfand & Zubiya crossed paths, they took this drama to a whole new level. It is beautiful how the writer embedded so many messages in this drama, through Daniyal she showed that no matter how hard it is to walk on the path of truth, it will always reward you in the end. Daniyal’s journey showed that even if you are alone & have no support, your perspective will always leave an impact on others’ lives. Zubiya’s journey was full of all such messages that no matter what you go through, if you are strong enough, you can deal with anything & not only in your life, you can bring a change in others’ lives too. It was absolutely beautiful seeing a simple girl like Zubiya being so self-sufficent & empowered. Farhat Ishtiyaq should take a bow for this brilliant piece of writing. Shehzad Kashmiri outdid himself & once again proved what an amazing director he is. The way he used all the locations to set the mood of the drama right from the beginning till the end was just brilliant. The background music & soundtrack added more depth to each & every situation. Now talking about all the actors; Ehtashamuddin, Shaz Khan, Farhan Ali Agha, Huma Nawab, Hira, Mani, Beenish Raja, Shamil Khan, Suhaee & the actors who played the characters of Rehan & Lubna, all of them were perfect & in their element when it came to acting, they perfectly supported the main cast & made things complete. Even though that kid who played the character of Noori’s brother Bilal had a very short role but he left a huge impact too with his amazing acting & extremely cute face. I must say I loved Shaz Khan & Hira Mani in this drama. Well, there’s no doubt about the fact that Sajal Ali & Ahad Raza Mir are the stars of this drama, they took it to a whole new level & the restored the interest of the viewers in Yakeen Ka Safar. Everything about them, their acting, their chemistry, the way they approached & portrayed their characters in all the phases of their lives & the transition that they went through was flawless. They both outdid themselves & gave Asfand & Zubiya’s characters the sort of treatment they deserved. This drama is going to stay with the viewers for a long long time & I congratulate the entire team of Yakeen Ka Safar on their success. Please share your thoughts about this episode & the entire journey of Yakeen Ka Safar.

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 28 Review – Epic!

Ohkay so, another week, another epic episode of Yakeen Ka Safar. Even though so much happened in this episode & every single character had something going on for them, I felt like I wanted to see more & this episode shouldn’t have ended. The best part in this episode was how it was shown that all the characters learnt from their past mistakes & now they were afraid to repeat those mistakes. The transition that everyone went through was the highlight of this episode for me & I can’t wait to see more.

So, Khajista’s case resurfaced the regret that Asfand & even Usman had for not supporting Daniyal. Asfand worded it perfectly, even though they were dealing with different people, the case was exactly the same where a weak & harmless girl was forced to put up with abuse. At first, I thought that it was Zubiya who changed Asfand’s thinking because when Khajista first came to their hospital, Asfand only treated her as a patient without getting emotionally involved in her case, so I thought may be because Asfand knew what Khajista meant to Zubiya, he decided to fight for her this time, but it wasn’t only because of her. I loved the message that Farhat Ishtiyaq has imparted through this story that in stead of letting your fears get the better of you, you should fight them & no matter what has happened in your past, you shouldn’t let it cloud your judgment for the rest of your life. Usman & Asfand both knew how Daniyal was trying hard to fight that battle singlehandedly & they didn’t support him but now, they learnt from their mistakes & realized it was important for them to help the weak, something that Daniyal was trying to do. Even though Zubiya has also played a part in changing Asfand’s perspective by showing him that it is perfectly alright to treat patients as a family & to feel their pain by getting emotionally involved, but Daniyal was the main driving force which compelled Asfand to bring that change in himself, in his father & in Khajista’s life. Even though Daniyal is no more but his principles, his values & his battle have taught a lifelong lesson to his family. This was the best part of tonight’s episode for me!

All this while I thought Bahadur was just someone who had no control over his emotions & he was deprived of analytical thinking, but the way he bruised Khan’s ego by comparing him with Asfand & telling him about his popularity, in order to save himself showed that he was quite a manipulator & knew exactly how to save himself in grave circumstances!

Another thing I noticed was how Usman received Khan’s phone call. It was the same Usman who got scared when he received Rab Nawaz’s phone call & had no courage to give it back to him, but this time around, Usman banged the phone on Khan’s face, which showed that he was not scared anymore & that he was ready to fight the battle alongside Asfand as he finally understood this is what Daniyal was trying to do, he has realized that fighting for the right is not going to be easy but all he has to do is be courageous & focused to get the weak some justice for all that she went through. I must say even though the conversation that Usman had with Khajista was perfect, like the essence of it was conveyed perfectly where he was trying to tell her that she had to stand up for herself, I felt that it could’ve been worded a bit better, somehow the dialogues were a bit too dramatic yet plain, if that makes sense, but yes, better wording would’ve made an even bigger impact!

So, Rehan finally realized his mistake, obviously it was a slow process, he started feeling guilty but now the burden was getting overbearing that is why he didn’t even wait for the appropriate time & ended up calling Mahjabeen. In order to prove that he really was eager to meet Zubiya, Rehan decided to show up at Mahjabeen’s doorstep because he knew that there was no way she was going to trust him by giving him Zubiya’s information on the phone. Rehan actually has realized how he wronged Zubiya & he seriously wants to make amends. Even though I am sure Zubiya will forgive Rehan, but I am keen to see her reaction.

Dr. Haroon’s proposal to Gaiti was yet another highlight of this episode. Haroon got to share everything that he had in his heart for Gaiti & that somehow moved her a bit. Like Gaiti said, all this while she saw him as a non-serious person who wasn’t sensitive enough to understand what Gaiti’s mind set was but just by telling Gaiti that he himself has gone through the same pain, he himself has experienced what it is like to lose a life partner, he moved her emotionally – those tears & that sympathy on Gaiti’s face said it all!

So, Khan got to see Asfand’s popularity & he realized that it won’t be easy harming him because it would not only put Khan in the spotlight, he could also lose his power, his position because the localites genuinely & sincerely respected Dr. Asfand Yar. Bahadur got arrested & Khan decided to leave the country, showing that he already gave up as he understood that he won’t be able to get away if he touched Dr. Asfand.

I loved the last scene of this episode as well. I loved how it was directed like all the emotions were conveyed beautifully. Asfand sat there & even though he is going through so much, he still had Zubiya on his mind, it shows how much he loves her because while still being pre-occupied, he was thinking of Zubiya only to be reminded of the fact that he was the witness of the worst moment that came into Zubiya’s life. I loved how that entire scene was tied in a sense that there Asfand was, thinking about Zubiya & the next moment, he found out something about her that shook him to no end. Will Asfand feel burdened by Zubiya’s past mistake or will he now understand the reason behind Zubiya’s rejection? Can’t wait to see!

This episode was simply perfect. Even though all the supporting characters got so much of coverage but every single scene, every single scenario was important. All the characters have a major contribution in the story & that is why they make it complete. I must say Hira looked absolutely gorgeous & very graceful in the proposal scene. Also, there was a scene in which all three men; Usman, Dr. Shehroz & Dr. Asfand were in specs, well let’s just say they took specs to a whole new level, lol, very graceful & charming I must say. The preview of the next episode was interesting as well but I’d rather not discuss it, as it will take away the charm of what is yet to come & will request the readers to keep the discussions related to this episode only. Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 27 Review – Intense & Emotional!

Ohkay so, what an intense & emotional episode of Yakeen Ka Safar that too with so many developments to its credit. This episode definitely moved the story forward a great deal, almost making it look like they are now headed towards the end of the drama, that is why all the loose ends are now being tied. Even though the team of Yakeen Ka Safar took a while in bringing the story to this point but the way they are slowly wrapping things up makes it look like we will be getting a proper ending for the first time & things won’t be rushed like how they usually are with the rest of the dramas.

So, the Bar Council paid tribute to Daniyal and Usman couldn’t help but accept the invitation because he knew that he had to accept the honor that Daniyal was getting. I totally understood Lubna’s feelings too, she being a mother is still bitter about the fact that everything turned a blind eye towards Daniyal when he needed everyone’s support the most & now when someone else did the heavy lifting, everyone else was ready to have their say. I liked how Usman made Lubna understand that despite all what Daniyal & they went through, everything got a closure & he had to be a part of it because he had do that in order to show his respect to Daniyal as well. All the things Usman said were so touching & emotional, Daniyal indeed was a very brave lawyer that is why, he didn’t think twice before putting his life in danger for Noori because for him, getting her justice was the only aim of his life.

With this closure, everyone’s feelings & memories of Daniyal rekindled, be it Usman, Lubna, Asfand or Gaiti, even though they all moved on & learnt how to live without Danial but the way they all shed the tears went to show that everything related to Daniyal or his death was fresh in their minds & he still were finding it hard to get over everything that happened. Usman for obvious reasons felt the need to apologize to his sons because when they both needed him, he was too busy holding onto his principles which obviously weren’t in line with Daniyal & Asfand’s values. To see Gaiti feeling guilty for the fact that she parted with Daniyal on a bitter note was heart-wrenching. She only wanted him to be safe, the fact that Gaiti was upset with Daniyal was her way of showcasing how much she loved him & how much she wanted to protect him, but just because Daniyal didn’t come back, she has this burden on her heart that she couldn’t show Daniyal the support he needed from his family members, especially his wife. Even though Asfand didn’t say much but the fact that he told Gaiti to be happy obviously was a hint for her to start afresh, right now Gaiti mustn’t have understood what Asfand was trying to say but later she definitely will.

So, Zubiya got to know that Asfand’s family was now seriously thinking of making her their family member that is why Lubna asked her about Mehjabeen’s address. The conversation between Zubiya & Asfand was so intense, it was so obvious that Zubiya was deliberately trying to hurt Asfand in a hope that he would back out. It was sad that for the first time Asfand openly told her that he loved her but Zubiya wasn’t in such a state of mind to accept him or his feelings. Zubiya loves Asfand herself but the past that she is hiding from everyone isn’t letting her move on as like she said, she thinks Asfand deserves someone better, someone who has a clean slate & hasn’t committed such mistake that Zubiya committed years & years ago. It goes to show that Zubiya hasn’t forgiven herself for what she did, that is why she is even hurting herself but turning away from something that she knows would make her happy. The way Zubiya cried after she left Asfand’s office was an evidence enough that she was hurt, for herself and also for hurting Asfand.

Well, the scene between Kharjista & her mother in law was sweet but it also went to show that you can not predict what will happen the next moment, you really can’t tell what life has in store for you. Kharjista was so happy & so was her mother in law, they both were excited about the baby that was going to become a part of their family but Bahadur took everything away. It literally took him one second to snatch all the happiness away from everyone. Everything that Kharjista’s mother in law said about her while sitting outside the operation theater was so emotional, she finally accepted Kharjista as her daughter & she was doing everything to make her feel special, that is why she was grieving at the thought of what Kharjista was going through.

Overall, this episode was beautiful, it was emotional, it was sweet & it was complete because it had all the elements that made it perfect. Ahad Raza Mir & Sajal Ali should take a bow for such brilliant performances & also all the other actors because they have supported phenomenally as well & it is because of all of their efforts that Yakeen Ka Safar is what it is. Seeing Daniyal again & again is bittersweet, his tribute was touching, it is absolutely sad to know that he couldn’t survive the cruelty of this world. The preview of the next episode promised a lot of drama as well, looks like Asfand will be in trouble & Zubiya will just get the feel of what it would be like losing Asfand, may be that will convince her to let go of her past & start afresh as well. Let’s see. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar.

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 26 Review – Intense!

Ohkay so, what an intense episode of Yakeen Ka Safar where everything fell into its right place & the most important character & track got the closure that we all were waiting for. Even though I am glad that they gave a closure to Daniyal’s track in a very concise manner however I found a little flaw in the information that was handed out which I will discuss later but let me just say, whatever I will speak about won’t take away the fact that this episode was phenomenal & all the emotions attached to Daniyal & his death were conveyed beautifully yet again. Daniyal is going to be one such character that is always going to hold a special place in the viewer’s hearts that is why it feels good to know that his name got cleared & his family got the answer that they were looking for.

When this episode began, I thought I will title this review as ‘love is in the air’ because Zubiya pushed her agenda of telling Haroon to consider Gaiti as his life partner. Even though Dr. Haroon at first seemed hesitant but before approaching Gaiti, he decided to spend some time with her son, only to understand him better & to see if Gaiti as a mother will be comfortable with the idea of Dr. Haroon being around her only child, which I found quite gentlemanly of him. To be honest, for the first time I enjoyed watching Hira & Mani in one frame together. Even though they both are playing such beautiful characters but to know that they are a real life couple made things quite sweet which I definitely liked & the cherry on top was their amazing yet subtle chemistry.

Another reason for which I was convinced to title this review as ‘love is in the air’ was Dr. Asfand’s present to Dr. Zubiya. Asfand can’t stop thinking about her & this was his way of letting her know that she was on his mind but then again even though Zubiya likes Asfand herself, she always finds herself stuck in the past due to which she hesitates in reciprocating the feelings by honestly & openly letting him know what she feels for him. I think now Zubiya will make sure to tell Asfand about her past only to put her heart to ease & to come to conclusion whether she should allow herself to get involved in this relationship or not because everything would now depend on Asfand’s reaction & his opinion regarding Zubiya’s past. Since Zubiya believes in transparency, I am sure this is exactly what she will do where she will tell Asfand everything about her past.

Now coming to the major twist that this episode brought with it, which was Asfand’s encounter with Urooj. Asfand immediately recognized Urooj & it took him back to his brother’s death. I loved loved loved the way they showcased Asfand’s emotional state where he couldn’t take his mind off his brother as he knew Urooj was the one who trapped him but then, he had to compose as well as remind himself that as a doctor, he couldn’t let his personal feelings cloud his judgment, that no matter what, he couldn’t let anything get in the way of treating his patient no matter who he was. Asfand without saying anything gave Urooj a reality check which she needed to let go of the secrets that were buried in her heart. I liked how this entire scenario was short & to the point & without wasting anytime they showed how Urooj confessed everything which then cleared off Daniyal’s name.

To see Usman & his entire family shed tears over the reminder of Daniyal’s painful death was quite heart-wrenching. This was the pain that they were dealing with for so many years but they learnt to live with it & then one fine day, someone came back & resurfaced the pain but the good thing was, everything that happened put their hearts to ease. Usman finally confessed that he was proud of both his sons for different reasons. This scene was quite emotional & touching, more like bittersweet because where I was happy that all the allegations were lifted off Daniyal, I was feeling sad that he died & that his family was deep down still mourning his loss.

Well, before saying anything, I know after such a perfect & emotional episode, no one would want to talk about the ‘glitches’ but honestly speaking, this was one such thing that didn’t let me absorb everything as much as I wanted to as I couldn’t comprehend why the writer & the director didn’t pay attention to detail. In episode 10 (time mark: 23:44) Daniyal’s police officer friend tells him that Urooj doesn’t have a child, she has no parents, she lives in an apartment which she doesn’t own & yes, that she is Dilawar’s girlfriend. Urooj lands herself a job by sharing her sob story that she being a single mother was trying to make a living for her child but then Daniyal’s friend clearly tells him that Urooj was lying, so not sure why they showed that Urooj now had a son who was 15-16 years old? If that was the case, like if Urooj had a son, there was no way that he’d be a teenager because they showed that after Daniyal’s death, only 5 – 6 years have passed, prove of which is Saim & his stagnant age. Also, with this I could be wrong but I am not sure when & where did Asfand see Urooj that he immediately recognized her? Because yes I do understand that he was trying to find her out before leaving for abroad but as far as I remember, he never really saw her & he never knew who she was? With Asfand’s bit I might but wrong but I am not convinced that Urooj had a son who he was a teenager because even if we assume that Urooj had a baby boy after Daniyal’s death, there was no way that he’d be mature enough to be drink driving. Even though I loved this episode, I am saying that again & again but I really wish before changing this track to fit the dramatization, the writer & the director had thought a bit about this aspect because even if we give them a benefit of doubt that may be Urooj wasn’t lying & she actually had a child & Daniyal’s friend’s was wrong but at that time she fled with Dilawar, probably not something that a single mother would do.

Anyways, props to all the actors for portraying each & every emotion to perfection. I just love the feel of this drama & I love how every single actor has done such a commendable job in conveying the emotions of their respective characters, like where they can make us smile, they make us shed a tear or two with them too. If the viewers get so emotionally involved in a story or its characters, it shows that the drama is successful because it speaks to the viewers on a very different level as it strikes the chord & for that I thank the team of Yakeen Ka Safar & all the actors especially. Please share your thoughts about this intense episode of Yakeen Ka Safar.

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 25 Review – Simply Perfect!

Ohkay so, as clichéd as it may sound but I hated chemistry as a subject but this chemistry is something else & surprise surprise I love it, well I am sure everyone else does too. It is such a relief that after weeks of being stagnant & slow, Yakeen Ka Safar has picked up the momentum & even though there are a few happenings in every other episode, the way they are conveyed compensate for all those slow episodes. It is commendable how the writer has maintained a balance between professional & personal lives of the characters & it shows how being in such a profession, it affects them on a personal level too. Yakeen Ka Safar has all of a sudden become a treat to watch & it is amazing!

So, Faryal came back with an ulterior motive, even though it was good that she learnt how to apologize, she realized her mistakes, she learnt how to say sorry but it is heart-wrenching that in all these years, one thing she couldn’t learn was acting. Seriously, all the scenes of the girl playing the role of Faryal despite being serious were amusing to me because I couldn’t divert my mind off how bad bad bad her acting was, whether she was crying, or pleading or looking at Asfand with some hope in her eyes, this girl really shouldn’t try her hands on acting & should give the characters offered to her in the future to someone else because I am sure they would do a better job than her or simply put, they’d be able to act at least!

I loved loved loved each & every scene of Asfand & Zubiya & I loved that there was so much focus on them & their feelings throughout this episode. Just because Zubiya lost her patient, Asfand knew that it was taking a toll on her & obviously he wouldn’t have shown support to someone else but because it was Zubiya he went out of the way to make her feel at ease because he could see that she was suffering. Asfand has obviously fallen for Zubiya & despite seeing how she keeps herself distant, Asfand continues to throw hints every now & then to let her know that he is thinking about her, that he is seriously considering her as his life partner.

Zubiya not only understands what Asfand says, she also feels the same way about him but just because she has had a bad experience in the past, she now walks on the eggshells, that is the reason why she reminded herself of her mother’s advice & immediately grew cold towards Asfand. I love how Zubiya never responds to Asfand with straight forward answers, like she always says something which he never expects. Throughout this episode I loved how short & sweet the dialogues were but still the characters were running high on emotions & the chemistry was oozing out of the TV screen.

Since Asfand finally got a chance to tell Faryal that he has changed & he has moved on & since he got rid of the burden that may be he was carrying in his heart, he got a clear vision & a chance to take some steps towards Zubiya. All those glances, all those smiles, every single expression that Asfand had while looking at Zubiya was beyond perfect & what I loved was how even Zubiya was taking note of everything but continued to ignore him as she was still unsure!

The entire birthday celebration scenario was nicely done, it was good to see Usman’s family having a good time & most importantly with people who were their well-wishers. The way Zubiya looked at Gaiti & Haroon was so sweet, like in her mind she already pictures them as a family & now she will try to make that happen because she knows that both of them can complete each other. I never really thought that Zubiya would actually admit that she was getting jealous of Faryal, like she was disturbed that she came back & it was her subtle way of telling Asfand what she actually feels. The entire scene where Asfand got to tell her that he gets envious of Dr. Haroon was amusing yet cute, like Zubiya immediately told Asfand what she had on her mind in stead of getting uncomfortable or staying silent, I like that Zubiya believes in transparency & honesty, that is why despite being reserved, she never lets anyone have any misconceptions or misunderstandings about her!

So, Asfand finally confessed, he told Zubiya that he believes she will be a perfect ‘partner’ for him & even though it came as a surprise for Zubiya, I loved how she contained herself, like I said, this is the best thing about Zubiya that she always reacts & responds in ways that Asfand least expects but what makes their relationship even perfect is that Asfand knows that Zubiya is like that & he accepts her the way she is. I love how Dr. Shehroz is trying to play the cupid & how he encourages Asfand. It was so good seeing the glimpse of old Asfand back who used to laugh, who used to be happy, who knew how to live life & this is definitely something that Zubiya has done, the love that he has for her has done!

This episode of Yakeen Ka Safar was simply perfecttt. After a long time I am enjoying the type of romance that is being shown on-screen, the way two people respect each other, understand each other & make it clear that they are going to be there for each other is simply beautiful. Sajal Ali & Ahad Raza Mir have elevated the level of this drama & even though I felt it was missing the spark, the moment they both came together, they took to another level. I must say Hira looked absolutely beautiful in this episode & so did Sajal Ali. Ahad Raza Mir looked handsome & charming & yes, that can be said about Dr. Shehroz or Shamil Khan as well. Definitely looking forward to the next episode because now looks like Daniyal’s track will get a closure because of Urooj’s re-entry. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar, yes, I am not talking about Kharjista because after such a happy & perfect episode, I ain’t got no time to discuss a roni shakal! ;)

Ahad Raza Mir – Biography, Age, Education, Family, Dramas

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 24 Review – Beautiful!

Ohkay so, it was yet another brilliant episode of Yakeen Ka Safar. I loved the way the emotions & feelings were elaborated in this episode & it is amazing it has turned into a lovestory & everything related to two people falling in love is being conveyed so beautifully & convincingly.

This episode focused more on Zubiya & her developing feelings for Asfand. All this while we got to see Asfand & his budding feelings for Zubiya but this was the first time, we got an insight into what Zubiya was going through. Faryal’s arrival has definitely changed the dynamics & everyone around her is affected by her but looks like Faryal is just as thick skinned as she was before. It was so obvious that Faryal came to rekindle her old affair & ignite the flame in Asfand’s heart for her playing the sympathy card but the way Asfand treated her cordially but with a distance showed that he definitely has moved on.

Lubna’s frustration was convincing yet amusing because she could see how Faryal was trying to woo Asfand but I think in the middle of all this, she didn’t see how Asfand was cold towards Faryal even though he was carrying a smile on his face while dealing with her. This was Asfand’s way of showing Faryal that he just wasn’t affected anymore & since he has gracefully moved on & accepted her decision that she made years ago, he was just being nice to her!

I loved how Zubiya was disturbed & clearly struggling to accept the fact that Faryal has come back. The way Zubiya immediately inquired about Faryal being Asfand’s ex showed that she was feeling a little uncomfortable. Zubiya staring at her bandage was another beautiful scene which elaborated that she was kind of missing Asfand & was remembering what he said to her but then her disappointment was visible too where she was wondering if he meant what he said or if he was going to stick by it now that Faryal was back in the picture.

It was good that Faryal not only got a clear message but also found out that Asfand has finally moved on & Zubiya is another reason why he is not too keen on her. Faryal actually thought that by telling Asfand that she never got over him will melt his heart away but she was wrong. The damage has been done & she was the one who instigated it, just how Faryal expected Asfand to get over her, she is expecting that he will take her back but she is mistaken & it is good that Asfand was making it obvious!

The scene which showed how merciless & brutal Bahadur’s Boss was just a hint on what Asfand will be faced with. Bahadur’s tip on Asfand in front of his boss & his boss’s opinion about Asfand showed that they have taken notice of him but where his presence is bothering Bahadur, his boss finds him weak & harmless. I liked how Bahadur’s thought process was shown & how it was different to his boss’s because he is unlettered & usually people like him feel threatened when they see someone a bit well-informed trying to change the ways around him. Even though these characters don’t interest me but I am keen to see how Asfand & their paths will cross, I am sure this is how Daniyal’s story will get a proper closure.

Oh finally, Rehan mai Abbi ki rooh aa hi gai. Sheema has had her time of glory but now even Rehan can see through her & it is good that he has slowly realized how toxic she has been. I wonder what Rehan will do if he will find out that she is the one who sent Zubiya away & has been lying to him all his life. I loved how Sheema’s maid Halima made her realize that she was facing all this because of her own deeds, about time someone said this to her!

Overall, this episode was perfect. I loved all of Asfand & Zubiya’s scenes. It is interesting to see how Asfand has gotten comfortable around Zubiya & keeps on looking for chances to have a conversation with her. Zubiya’s feelings were beautifully portrayed, it was realistic that she was feeling confused but decided to let go of all those thoughts that she had about Asfand because she assumed that he was now going to get back with Faryal. I love the calm feel of this drama, it is very soothing & even the background music adds more feel to it. Definitely looking forward to the next episode & especially interested to see the conversation between Asfand & Zubiya. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar.

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 23 Review – Brilliant!

Ohkay so, what a brilliant episode of Yakeen Ka Safar tonight. What I loved & enjoyed the most about this episode was how the emotions were portrayed, starting from emotions of a mother to emotions of a man who felt a bit jealous seeing the lady he likes, sharing a hearty laugh with a male colleague, like there were so many moments in this episode that were portrayed beautifully & made this entire episode a treat to watch. After a very long time I felt that the writer & the director had the grip on the story & most importantly the characters because now they were actually looking real & relate-able, it shows what emotions if portrayed rightly can do to the characters & impact the story!

Gaiti’s decision of joining the hospital came as a pleasant surprise to everyone because all those who love Gaiti always wanted her to move on & do something with her life. The entire credit definitely goes to Zubiya & it was good seeing Asfand’s mother acknowledging the fact that it was Zubiya who convinced Gaiti. I must say I loved the way Zubiya warmly welcomed Gaiti, their friendship is one of the best aspects of the story & that particular scene came as a reminder that Zubiya & Gaiti were true friends who emotionally supported each other & now one was empowering the other.

So, the moment Gaiti joined the hospital, we heard a conversation about Dr. Haroon & his future where he should get married again. I totally ship Gaiti & Haroon together because obviously they would make a great reel-life couple as well. So, finally Asfand’s liking for Zubiya went a notch higher, that is why his reaction after seeing Zubiya with Haroon along with the red flower evoked such a reaction from him. Even though Asfand tries to avoid Zubiya whenever he is around people but it was interesting to see how he casually shares a sentence or two when they are together in privacy. It was interesting to see that out of all the people, Dr. Shehroz could sense what Asfand was feeling & despite his harsh behavior towards Zubiya, he could still feel there was something going on especially from Asfand’s side. Dr. Shehroz’s smile said it all & it was beautiful.

Coming towards the best part of tonight’s episode, Asfand’s mother & her stance regarding Faryal’s arrival. Even before she had a heart-to-heart conversation with Asfand, I knew why she was reacting this way. It was quite obvious that Faryal’s mention reminded her of Daniyal, the son that she has lost & all the bitter memories of how his reputation was tarnished, how even his own relatives especially Faryal’s family believed that he was guilty of all the charges placed on him. Even though Usman tried to calm her down but like she said, being a mother of two sons who were hurt by Faryal & her family, it wasn’t easy for her to let go of the past. For the first time I loved how Usman with so much of surety shared his perspective about Asfand as if he really understood his son. All this while we saw that for Usman, Daniyal was everything & there was this distance between Usman & Asfand especially after Daniyal’s death, but for the first time I felt the void was filled & now Usman was just as proud of Asfand as he was proud of Daniyal. Usman’s claim that Asfand despite liking Zubiya will not easily accept it was spot on because this is exactly what Asfand was struggling with, he has started liking Zubiya but is finding it hard to come to terms with it & give it some meaning. Similarly, Usman’s claim that Asfand will welcome Faryal without any hesitation was spot on too but this time around, his wife also had a point as she knew that Asfand has gotten used to keeping his emotions bottled up, that is why she was feeling more distressed that Asfand won’t get a chance to share what he must be feeling upon hearing about Faryal. I absolutely loved the conversation that Asfand & his mother had, where she wanted him to give words to every single feeling that he had regarding Faryal but Asfand proved Usman right & let her know that he was unaffected. Obviously, it wasn’t completely true, Asfand is still hurt but yes, he has gracefully moved on & has learned a lot to now feel anything for her!

Faryal & her selfish reason! The way her eyes were stuck on Asfand when he showed up was enough to know that she came here with only one intention, which is to rekindle her relation with him because now she is divorced. It was interesting how in such a small scene they once again made it obvious that Faryal was only thinking about herself & no one else because she wanted Asfand to immediately know that she is a victim seeking for emotional support from him especially.

Now talking about all those beautiful scenes of Asfand & Zubiya, I loved how even Zubiya could feel some warmth in Asfand’s attitude despite all the scolding that he directs at her. Zubiya hardly reacts to Asfand’s harsh comments anymore because she knows he has his mood swings especially when it comes to work therefore she chooses to stay quiet but yes, when it comes to all the other things that he says, Zubiya does understand what he is trying to convey. Zubiya has also started reading between the lines like she does get affected when he ignores her & can also feel that he cares for her. Dr. Shehroz’s dialogue ‘handle it carefully’ said it all, he has understood that there’s a lot of liking from Asfand’s side for her & it was his subtle way of encouraging it, which I found quite sweet. Even after the shortest counselling session with Dr. Asfand, Zubiya thought about the ‘good memory’ that she shared with him but since her past has shaped her character & mindset in such a way, she fears slipping up once again & for the exact same reason, she immediately cleared her thoughts because she knows she has worked really really hard to garner all the respect that she gets, therefore she can not afford to do anything differently.

This episode was absolutely beautiful, I loved everyone’s input in this episode, be it Gaiti, Haroon, Dr. Shehroz or significant coverage that Usman & his wife got, everything was conveyed beautifully. One thing I noticed when Zubiya was introducing Gaiti to everyone was how she had this confidence in her body language now, it showed that she has become quite comfortable & feels empowered herself, like it was a very small scene but it showed that Zubiya is pretty settled in this phase of her life & she is having a great time. Sajal Ali’s acting was brilliant & I absolutely loved watching her. Ahad Raza Mir has made it obvious that he was a perfect choice for the character of Asfand Yar, he has absolutely nailed it, there are such intricate emotions that Asfand’s character experiences & to portray them flawlessly at that was not an easy feat & Ahad Raza Mir has achieved that, so big thumbs up! Also liking the coverage that all the supporting characters are getting, they are making this drama a wholesome package which is great. Definitely looking forward to the next episode & I am really glad that the story has finally picked up & now we can see where it is headed. Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 22 Review – Perfect!

Ohkay so, it was yet another amazing episode of Yakeen Ka Safar. Finally it is so good to see the story picking up the momentum after so many weeks. I like the fact that the developments are being made on a smaller scale because by the end of the episode, they add up to a proper change in the scenario, which is an intelligent way of story-telling.

Zubiya has become a friend to everyone, a confidant that everyone feels comfortable around. Zubiya never would’ve thought that a happy-go-lucky Dr. Haroon was carrying such a big sorrow in his heart. It is good that despite being in a small town, Zubiya is getting to meet all sorts of people with all sorts of life experiences as it helps her in broadening her vision & getting to understand life better. At one point Zubiya thought that her life stopped but now when she gets to interact with everyone, she understands that life never stops & everyone gets through the biggest of ordeals. Even though Zubiya is doing really well for herself ever since she has locked her past where it doesn’t harm her anymore but the fact that she still is conscious about her image goes to show that she still feels burdened by it. Anyhow, it is good to see Zubiya at a happy place & being victorious over her past.

Zubiya has finally started to bring the change in Kharjista’s life that she hoped for. Just by treating her mother in law with love & respect, Zubiya has now started to steer her thoughts in Kharjista’s favor because she wants her to realize that Kharjista is not an emotionless puppet, in fact she is a human being with heart & feelings. I loved the scene where Kharjista’s mother in law called Kharjista her ‘beti’, it finally showed that she has accepted her & will now keep the promise she made to Zubiya.

I had a good time watching all the doctors coming together for a meal, obviously when you’re in such an isolated place, you get to hang out with your colleagues too. It was amusing how Dr. Shehroz spoke about the mountains that were moved during their medical camp, even though Asfand didn’t get it but Dr. Shehroz could already see the difference in his attitude & he indirectly hinted that it was because of Dr. Zubiya. At this stage, I am loving the balance they are showing between everyone’s personal & professional life, there’s this harmony in every scenario & it is working really well!

So, Dr. Asfand has finally started to think about Dr. Zubiya, like he has not only eased around her but has begun to pay attention to her too & because of that, he has started to realize that he was actually quite harsh on her. The best part about it is that Zubiya never really consciously made an effort to change Asfand’s opinion about her but just by her demeanour & conduct, she made it happen. Asfand has also seen her treating his family with respect, so it gives him all the more reason to take her seriously & consider her as his potential life partner.

The chemistry between Zubiya & Asfand is undeniable & it has been portrayed so beautifully. Asfand didn’t actually realize that he gave words to his feelings so casually in front of Zubiya & later when he thought about it, he got conscious & that is why he ignored her completely the next day. I found it actually quite interesting how Zubiya felt bad when Asfand ignored her, it was like she did register what Asfand said to her. Usman also thinks Zubiya is the right person for Asfand & that is why he told his wife to contact Mahjabeen. I am sure when Gaiti will find out about it, she will do everything to convince Asfand. I am loving Gaiti & Zubiya’s friendship too, they both have become such good friends in such a short span of time & since it was Zubiya, it made it easier for Gaiti to revisit her past & tell her everything about Daniyal & even Faryal.

I loved watching this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar, it had a perfect blend of emotions which worked beautifully. Everything is being portrayed quite realistically & it is good to see Zubiya’s character shining through especially, she really has come a long way & it is good to see her journey. I enjoyed Rehan & Sheema’s scene for the first time too, even though Rehan isn’t going all out on his wife but his subtle warnings are enough to show that he is on his way to redemption. I am sure it won’t be too long till he finds Zubiya & apologizes for what he has done. Sajal Ali & Ahad Raza Mir are at their best & it is a treat to watch them together. Really looking forward to their love story now & oh just when I was happy & had a smile on my face, seeing Faryal in the preview was enough to wipe that off. I am sure now Asfand will get quite a lot of chances to compare Zubiya & Faryal & that will definitely help him in making up his mind. Mani is a perfect choice for Dr. Haroon’s character & I can’t praise his acting enough & Hira is playing her part really really well too. Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 21 Review – Brilliant!

Ohkay so, I am so glad to say that finally after such a long time I got to watch an episode of Yakeen Ka Safar that I loved. From direction to locations to dialogues to acting to situations, everything was just perfect & may be this is what the viewers were waiting for. Even though if we analyze, not much happened in this episode but the situation that was brought to the front had so much going on in it that it made this episode seem quite engaging irrespective of the slow pace.

It was amusing how Asfand deliberately eavesdropped on Zubiya, because he already has an idea that he has left quite an impression on Zubiya, so he didn’t mind what she said because this is something that even Gaiti has been telling him about. Asfand has actually started to realize that he is not only hard on Zubiya or other doctors but himself as well, that is why I felt in this episode, we saw a slight shift in his attitude where he was trying to be as candid & cheerful as possible.

So, all the doctors went for a medical camp & that’s where Zubiya got to showcase her potential as a doctor to not only Asfand but to the rest of the team as well. Their medical camp was a success & it ended on a high note but what made it even better was the sudden medical case that Zubiya had to deal with. I found it quite amazing that out of all the people, Asfand was there to see Zubiya’s moment of glory because he is the one who was always skeptical about her & her credibility as a doctor. I loved how calm Zubiya was & how relieved she felt when she tackled a complicated case all by herself that too in the most unfavorable conditions.

This episode showed us a different side to Asfand, a side which was now thinking more & more about Zubiya. What I loved is that Zubiya didn’t go out of the way to prove herself to Asfand, like she didn’t make an effort but only kept her entire focus on her work because she knew this is what Asfand expected from her. Now when Asfand got to spend some time with Zubiya, he not only saw how good she was as a doctor but he got a glimpse, an insight into her nature & character too. Who would’ve thought that just a small advice from Zubiya to the patient’s husband/child’s father would make such an impact on Asfand that he’d be taken back to Faryal & the bad memory that he had of her where she created a havoc over her bag getting ruined. I think this was the first step that Asfand unintentionally took towards Zubiya because now she was on his mind & for a very different reason. I liked this entire situation because of the way it was portrayed, like it showed that just by spending some time with Zubiya, Asfand was getting to know more & more about her & while it was happening, Zubiya had no idea that Asfand had his sights on her, he was reading her, trying to know her better.

Oh well, obviously things were meant to be shaky & that’s why, the moment they stepped back into the hospital, Asfand got a chance to complain about what Zubiya did & how. Asfand can’t help it, when he is in the hospital he wants nothing but the best & that is why, he didn’t let anything influence his feelings, not even the hard-work that Zubiya put in during the camp & he ended up giving Zubiya a piece of his mind. It was realistic because Asfand is not some immature teenager who would change his attitude because now he had a different perspective about someone, yes, he got to know Zubiya a little, he appreciated her hard-work & her nature but when it comes to work, he won’t budge & he made that clear.

Bahadur continued to pester Kharjista but what was note worthy is how Kharjista’s MIL has changed & it is only because of Zubiya. Who would’ve thought that Zubiya’s friendship will bring some sort of change in Kharjista’s life because for the first time, her MIL was supporting her & she was trying to protect her from Bahadur’s tantrums. I must say even though Rustam is a supporting character but I like seeing him because he is positive, a very decent character & the stark difference between him & Bahadur make him stand out a bit more. It is good that in Kharjista’s family, there is at least one person who sympathizes with her.

Overall, this episode was brilliant & I had a great time watching it. I must say I loved the on-screen chemistry between Ahad & Sajal, they both looked so good together as Asfand & Zubiya. Even though I wasn’t too keen on Rehan’s character but seeing the preview of the next episode had me laughing because I am loving how he is on Sheema’s case. Does this mean Rehan will finally become another Abbi for Zubiya, who after being lost for quite some while will now realize his mistakes & understand his responsibility towards her? I think with this change in Rehan’s character, I want to see more of him, like I want to see him taking control & changing things for the better. Sajal Ali & Ahad Raza Mir performed brilliantly in this episode & the rest of the cast did a great job in supporting them as well. I am still enjoying Mani’s scenes, he is good as Dr. Haroon & I like that he breaks the monotony of serious nature of the drama & brings in some lightheartedness. The director deserves full marks for directing this episode to perfection & for showcasing the beauty of Pakistan as well, those scenic locations were used to the fullest to give this episode a calming feel & it was brilliant. Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 20 Review – Important Developments

After weeks of going around in circles, the story finally moved in a new direction. Khajastha’s track and Zubia’s latest discovery that Asfand is the same guy who was there when she was in the middle of the incident which changed her life for the worst forever, has altered a lot of things about this drama and has given the story a new dimension which was much needed at this point. For weeks now the focus was entirely on Asfand’s changed personality and his attitude with Zubia in particular but tonight the focus was entirely on Zubia, which was a positive change. Zubia was seen trying to do whatever she could in order to help people around her, whether it was teaching children or helping Khajastha by giving her emotional support. This went to show that Zubia wanted a life with a purpose to help individuals who were vulnerable or in need of help. Zubia has come a long way and the development in her character has been positive but tonight the viewers saw Zubia fighting her demons once again! The past which she had left far behind haunted her yet again. She thought her present might be affected once again by something she was trying so hard to forget about and move on. For the first time Asfand seemed concerned about Zubia and the preview of the next episode suggested that very soon he will also start appreciating her efforts.

Zubia has been shown as a strong girl who might not always have the confidence to speak her mind but she has some very obvious strengths which make her character likeable. Sajal Ali has been the star of the show throughout. She made me feel for her character and relate to Zubia’s feelings instantly even in those episodes when the story was progressing at a snail’s pace. Bahadur Khan’s character was introduced in detail in this episode. The scene covering Bahadur Khan’s interaction with the people he worked with could have been chopped down if it focused only the main profile of these people. The addition of “king maker” was completely forced. His profile suggested that Zubia might get herself into trouble because she is helping Khajastha and perhaps Asfand will help her in some way. I am definitely interested in finding out where this track leads to as long as it is not stretched like every other track was in the past few weeks.

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 20 Review - Important Developments

Rehan did not get a lot of screen time in tonight’s episode but just like the past few episodes, he was shown disturbed and upset which suggests that he is realizing his mistake and if it weren’t for his wife, he would be out looking for his sister. Rehan is a weak man who is gradually learning to think for himself for a change. I am wondering if Sheema will ultimately pay for whatever she did to Zubia because if it weren’t for her, Rehan might have given Zubia some breathing space.

The relationship between Khajastha and Zubia was the highlight of tonight’s episode for many reasons. Both the actresses involved have great chemistry and even the actress playing Khajastha’s role is acting superbly. Zubia needs Khajastha in her life just as much as she needs her. Her existence gives Zubia’s life meaning. Gaiti and Zubia’s connection is also endearing even though their scene tonight could have been covered in a better manner. When Gaiti left the house she told her in laws that Zubia found out she was related to Asfand only yesterday but when she met Zubia she said she waited a week to talk to her! Also, instead of stretching the scenes covering Asfand’s state of mind, this scene should have been given more screen time.

Zubia and Asfand’s characters have a lot in common; both of them have devoted their time and energy to helping others in order to forget the tragic incidents which changed their personalities and lives forever. Their track however could have been far more interesting if they were not so repetitive, especially in the past few weeks this drama has not given us a lot to look forward to. I also feel that the viewers would have found Asfand’s character even more likeable if every now and then we actually saw or heard him talking about his actual feelings.

Overall, this episode was definitely much more interesting than the previous few episodes. The preview of the next episode also suggested that Zubia and Asfand’s relationship will finally take a new turn.

PS. I am covering for Zahra, who is away for maternity leave but will be back very soon ?

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 19 – Situational Drama!

Ohkay so, another week another situation in Yakeen Ka Safar. I am not really sure what made Farhat Ishtiyaq believe that this story could be turned into a 30 episode drama because apart from a few situations every now & then, there is nothing much that has been happening in this drama. To be honest, ever since I have heard that the writer herself confirmed that Yakeen Ka Safar will have around 30 episodes, it really has taken away my interest from it because the slow pace really sticks out like a sore thumb. If we look at it, this episode was done nicely but did anything special happen in it, no!

So, Kharjista’s character was introduced, a young girl who has become Bahadur Khan’s second wife & is now a victim of domestic violence. I am not sure what to say or feel about her character because for me, this was another situation that was added to showcase the struggles & emotions of doctors & bring in another ‘bechari aurat’ in the story. May be these new characters will have an important role to play in the future or may be this bechari aurat will emerge as a survivor because of Zubiya’s guidance but how are they going to contribute to the actual story for now is not clear. This situation only changed one thing which was, that it forced Dr. Asfand to think outside the box. Just because Zubiya requested him to speak to Bahadur & even though he refused to do that, he couldn’t take it out of his mind. Dr. Asfand knows what he wants like he has had a clear vision so far but for the first time he was forced to think if he was doing enough or if there was more that he could give to those people who came to his hospital, like more than their physical healing, could he help them with mental & emotional healing as well? It was nice that Dr. Shehroz considered Zubiya’s request & spoke to Bahadur Khan. Even though it is a nominal thing but it was quite unconvincing, like everyone knows how strict Dr. Asfand is, so just because a junior doctor told Dr. Shahab to take a leave & rest, he left without even seeking permission from his boss; Dr. Asfand? I don’t know why but looks like these kinds of situations are being created to further showcase how Zubiya ticks Asfand off & how he keeps on getting chances to find faults in her!

Well, one fine night Rehan grew concerned about Zubiya & it took micro second for Sheema to start spewing venom against her. Well, she had a complete information about what Zubiya did & where she was but her claim that she is after another doctor these days was a bit extra. I wish Rehan had showed Sheema her right place ages ago, that would’ve spared him & us Sheema’s misery!

Finally Zubiya found out that her friend Gaiti is related to Asfand & her reaction was pretty realistic. Zubiya has always felt awkward in front of Asfand & she has been trying really hard to prove herself as a doctor in front of him, so she was right in assuming that Dr. Asfand might feel she was trying to score some points by forming personal relations with his family. Gaiti can obviously not understand what Zubiya goes through because she hasn’t seen the way Asfand treats her, that is why she told her to relax & not think too much but Zubiya was right in her stance!

Oh well, to be honest, the preview of the next episode has really put me off, like seriously, Zubiya will be taunted ONCE AGAIN for what she did years & years ago? I find it funny how every other person in this drama is shown to be so badtameez that they gossip about Zubiya right in front of her like for my entire life I knew that gossiping was done behind people’s back but in this drama, they are trying to change the norm & are teaching people that they can be gossip mongers in front of the one they are gossiping about as well. I think they have really really pushed it too far like in stead of ticking viewers off, they are not making ANY point by showing Zubiya’s past being brought in front of her again & again. I know the writer did say that people are unforgiving but isn’t she being unforgiving too, lol seriously! I know may be Asfand will be the only one who wouldn’t judge her after remembering that she was the one whom he rescued ages ago, but wouldn’t it have been so REFRESHING if there was one such person (read female) who had said that may be it was a silly mistake that Zubiya did when she was KID? Like ONE such person who had judged Zubiya based on how she conducts herself NOW in stead of focusing much on what she has done in her PAST? Seriously, they are pushing it too far & it is quite annoying because looks like they have nothing left to show so they keep on digging the old grave? If Zubiya was still in Karachi, surrounded by people who knew her & her family background, it would’ve made sense but to see her past making it to her remote workplace is a bit too much! I find it amusing that in every other place, Zubiya comes across one such ‘pupho’ who not only is interested in her past but miraculously finds out about it, taunts her about it too & then spreads it like a Nutella is spread on a bread! Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar!

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 18 Review – Nice Episode!

Ohkay so, it was a nice episode of Yakeen Ka Safar. I am sure those who are the ‘viewers’ of this drama would’ve loved it but when it comes to me, being a ‘reviewer’ I have started to find this drama so situational that it doesn’t give me much to discuss or talk about in detail, like if I am being honest about it. While watching this drama as a ‘viewer’ myself, I enjoyed it thoroughly but now when I have sat down to ‘review’ this episode, I am not sure what needs to be spoken about & I think this is going to be the case with the rest of the episodes because everything has become quite situational which can be enjoyably viewed but not reviewed!

Overall this episode was nice & pretty decent. I know those who are associated with the field of medicine might find some loopholes but for someone like me who has no idea about how things roll, I actually liked the way how things were portrayed like the life of the doctors & what is expected from them. I think after a long time, probably after Dhoop Kinare we are getting to see a drama where they are showing the doctors’ perspective in detail & are highlighting the pressures they face in their day to day lives. Everything according to me was shown convincingly so I enjoyed watching it!

So, Zubiya got to assist Asfand & he has told her already that he expects nothing but the best from her. Asfand has assigned a lot of pressures to himself because his hospital is new & he wants to establish its name, that is why he wants the patients to get the best of treatment. Asfand doesn’t believe in committing mistakes because he knows that doctors can’t afford to do that as people rely on them when they are going through the roughest of times & this is exactly what he tried to convey to Zubiya time & again!

Zubiya is obviously finding it hard to meet Asfand’s expectations because being a newbie with no experience at hand, she is bound to make mistakes & that is what is ticking Asfand off. I liked the fact that Zubiya didn’t complain but tried to improve herself & she started reading between the lines to make things easier for herself but then again, even that wasn’t enough for Asfand.

The new development that I liked the most was both Zubiya & Gaiti coming across each other. They both will find a life long friend & it was interesting how their friendship developed where they first shared a few details & then later started confiding in each other. I liked Gaiti’s approach where she didn’t tell Zubiya anything about her being related to Asfand because like she said, she doesn’t want Zubiya to run away from her because she sees a friend in her that she didn’t have. Zubiya has come across a lot such people in such a short span of time who have an emotional baggage & deal with it on a daily basis, like first her colleague & now Gaiti, it will strengthen Zubiya & encourage her to face her fears strongly when she will see people with such big sorrows getting on with life normally!

Overall, this episode was pretty decent & straight forward. Not much drama happened but I liked the simplicity with the way things unfolded. The preview of the next episode however promised a bit of a drama where Rehan will finally speak up but to be honest, both Rehan & Sheema’s faces are so off-putting that I am not interested to see Rehan becoming a man & speaking in favor of Zubiya, in fact I am not happy that they both are going to make an appearance again! Looks like Zubiya will stuff things up again which will further rile Asfand up or may be, he won’t say anything to her going by the lecture that Gaiti gave to him regarding treating Zubiya with respect & love. It seems we are going to have a new entry; Maryam Nafees’s character, a victim of domestic violence. I am sure her addition in the story will play an important role but it makes me think ke kuch ziyada nahi ho gaya? If that was the case I wish they had compensated with 3 – 4 characters like Dr. Haroon to make things a bit light-hearted. I mean every other girl in this drama is or has been a victim of misfortune, hmmmm quite heavy I must say! Anwyways, Ahad Raza Mir & Sajal Ali’s performances were good & I enjoyed their scenes together. I enjoyed Hira Mani’s scenes too. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar!

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 17 Review – Good Episode After Weeks!

Ohkay so, after quite some time it was a good episode of Yakeen Ka Safar. I am glad that we got to see some fresh faces & things moved forward, however the scenes involving the old characters could’ve been easily omitted out as they seemed unnecessary. The pace of the drama is still quite slow but considering it is going to be a 30 episode drama or may be more, it looks like the pace is always going to be an issue!

Well, Sheema continued to spew venom against Zubiya & Rehan had nothing to say than just to shut her up but even that didn’t make any difference. I am wondering seeing how easily Sheema moved on & how much hatred she displayed against Zubiya that too openly, why didn’t it occur to dim-wit Rehan that may be she was the one who threw Zubiya out of the house? Well it doesn’t make any difference as Rehan lacks sensibility because if he was blessed with some brains, he would’ve understood his wife & her nature ages ago!

It was good to see that Zubiya started looking for jobs immediately as she could feel that Farheen was feeling burden. Oh well, how stupid Mohsin could be? I found that dialogue that he said in Zubiya’s praise that too in front of Farheen unnecessary & now that I have watched this entire episode, I really don’t think it would’ve made any such difference if they hadn’t added this situation where Zubiya was insulted by Farheen just like that. Mohsin should’ve known better that this was no way of praising his cousin in front of his wife. They could’ve easily shown that Zubiya found out about the job opportunity in Asfand’s hospital through newspaper & she applied for it as she deemed it as an opportunity for growth in her career. Yes, Zubiya’s Khala wouldn’t have accepted that but then again, she was also mature enough to understand how important it would’ve been for Zubiya as she herself kept on telling her that she needs to apply for a job in bigger hospitals.

Coming to the confrontation scene, I found it way too long, boring & unnecessary & apart from that the entire episode was good. I didn’t feel a thing because I think I am done feeling for Zubiya & all the things that Farheen said didn’t make me sympathize with her character further. On the other hand it was good that she immediately decided to find another job which also provided her with an accommodation. What Farheen did turned into a joke because even after that confrontation, they showed that Zubiya took her sweet time in moving out because in the meantime Farheen left & she also came back but Zubiya was still there!

Anyways, looks like Asfand has had a complete change in personality, yes he has matured a lot but looks like the death of his brother & then getting ditched by Faryal that too when he needed her the most has made him cold-hearted & indifferent to all those happy & positive feelings that he was known for. Who would’ve thought that the same non-serious Asfand who loved having a good time would become famous for being strict, reserved & stern. I am interested to see if he will lighten up a bit in the episodes to come or not. For the first time, Usman also felt proud of Asfand as he always wanted him to excel in his field just like his brother Daniyal did. Asfand has isolated himself so may be some sort of reassurance from Usman’s side & then some sort of affection from or towards Zubiya might change him!

I liked the entire hospital scenario where Zubiya got selected & Asfand & Mrs. Shehroz had some reservations about her but Dr. Shehroz saw some potential in her. I think it was quite realistic how they showed that both Asfand & even Zubiya didn’t immediately recognize each other because that would’ve made things awkward for Zubiya & even before joining, she would’ve thought about quitting the job. I enjoyed seeing the new characters too. Dr. Haroon (Mani) is going to provide some comic relief in an otherwise heavy & way too serious drama therefore, he is a good addition. Also, the way the lady doctor told Zubiya her story went to show that this way Zubiya will learn that she is not the only one who is struggling & everyone has had their fair share of trials & tribulations in their lives. Not that I am complaining but this entire hospital/doctors scenario reminded me of Dhoop Kinare big time & Dr. Haroon reminded me of Sajid Hassan’s epic character from the same drama. I am definitely looking forward to Zubiya & Asfand’s journey together & on their own!

Overall, this episode was decent. I am glad that Sheema & Rehan are going to go out of the picture, unless the director chooses to linger their presence on by showing unnecessary scenes like the ones that were included in this episode. The new faces were so needed & were refreshing to see. Looks like Zubiya will have a tough time as Asfand would expect nothing but the best from her & she will have to prove herself – another reminder of Dhoop Kinare where Marina Khan & Rahat Kazmi had the similar kind of start but then Zoya’s character was quite loud & lively so it added more charm whereas Zubiya is subdued & reserved so I think she is only going to stay serious as she will be only focused on proving herself. For the first time in weeks, I am definitely looking forward to the next episode, please share your thoughts about this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar.

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 16 – A Decent Episode!

Ohkay so, I am glad that things moved forward in this episode especially in Zubiya’s life, but I really am looking forward to how & when she will independently get to shape up her life where there will be no one bringing up her past again & again, but then I am not sure if that is ever going to happen considering when she will meet Asfand, as even he will be a reminiscent of the darkness that once came in her life & the fact that he was a witness himself might make things difficult for Zubiya, but I have a feeling he might not judge her, now when he will see that Zubiya has become a doctor & carries herself with dignity & decency!

Abbi finally got a chance to apologize to Zubiya & voice his concerns. All this while Abbi actually did show that he was worried for his only daughter because he could see how Rehan mistreated her all this while, so just the thought of him not being around terrified him. Abbi did want Zubiya to settle down so that he could feel at peace knowing that someone was going to take care of her but sadly before that could happen, he passed away. The way Zubiya looked at Abbi’s things after his death was one of the most heart-touching & emotional scenes of this entire drama, it’s like you are trying to connect to the one you just lost through the things that they left behind. Touching his tasbeeh & then his shawl made Zubiya feel that he was still around!

As usual, Sheema tried to steer Rehan’s thoughts in the direction that he didn’t even consider – getting Zubiya’s jewelery for her husband’s business was the best Sheema could think of & not only that, her tone suddenly changed. Well, the entire scene where she badmouthed about Zubiya in front of her cousin was in line with her character since she isn’t tired of speaking about Zubiya’s past & it was amusing how her cousin thought harassing Zubiya was a good idea that too when her brother was around. As always, Rehan chose not to believe his sister because all these years, Sheema has really maligned his heart & mind against her that’s why he thought Zubiya must’ve been at fault. Sajal Ali deserves an award for this particular scene as she was exceptional. Zubiya finally voiced the truth & that too in such a way that left Rehan speechless because Rehan didn’t have any answers to her questions. Rehan finally got a reality-check that he wasn’t allowed to display his ghiarat in the matters concerning Zubiya because he didn’t take a stand for his mother against his father when he killed her as he knew he will lose everything! Sheema sent Zubiya away & then blamed it all on Zubiya. Even though I was sad for Zubiya & I actually thought where’s she going to go, I was relieved that we won’t be getting to see Sheema & Rehan anymore!

I actually didn’t think that Zubiya will go to Mahjabeen’s house & that came as a pleasant surprise. It is good that Zubiya finally decided to move on & is now going to take care of herself on her own. So, Asfand is back & he has partnered with Dr. Shehroz to open up the hospital in his father’s hometown. They have started working & are now looking for a team of doctors to run the hospital. I am sure that’s where Zubiya will show up because as the preview suggested, she will be judged by Mohsin’s wife too & she will have to leave. I actually rolled my eyes really hard when I saw this scene in the precap, like it’s given that Zubiya will leave & pursue the job in Asfand’s hospital, so I am not sure if this entire blame game was necessary where Mohsin’s wife will accuse her of being involved with him? Seriously, they have shown us enough of how Zubiya’s past has haunted her all this while, so I feel there is no need of showing it in this phase of her life as she has left everything behind. Zubiya is going to go anyways so they could’ve shown that she left her Khala’s house on a positive note, not because of some insecure woman who couldn’t stop herself from making assumptions & then accusing Zubiya for something so pathetic!

I wish they had given some proper dialogues to Shamil Khan when he was talking to the Police Commissioner, his stuttering actually showed that he was struggling really hard. Also, I am not sure who has told the female actors that they need hair extensions in every other scene, like Beenish Raja’s extension selection was worse but what’s worst was them being all over the place during those fight scenes! Also, yes, even though after that scene, a wife was trying to calm her cry-baby husband down, there was too much physical contact that happened for my liking! Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 15 Review – Slow But Decent!

Ohkay so, this episode was a bit better than the previous one. I am glad that the story took a leap of 5 years but even then they showed that every single character was stuck in the past, which actually happens because no matter how hard you try to run away from your past, it does come back & haunt you. Gaiti is stuck in the past too, Zubiya even though has moved on but still is facing the brunt of her past mistakes & Khalil’s entire present & future has been laid out in a way that it will remind him of his past till his last breath. However, I will say that the pace has slowed down considerably. Things were quite intense when the story was focusing on Daniyal & Noori’s track but after that, everything has become one-dimensional. I feel the story of this novel was appropriate for 16-18 episodes but since HUM is known for dragging the dramas, I am dreading the thought of it not ending before 24-25 episodes.

So, Khalil couldn’t recover from the accident that he met & this was basically a punishment that he got, to reflect on his past mistakes & seek forgiveness for all that he has done. Even before the accident, Khalil had realized how wrong he was but now for the rest of his life, he was going to get reminded of all that he has done. Zubiya was there to support her father emotionally because just when she hit the rock bottom, Khalil was the one who stood by her & now it was Zubiya’s turn to return the favor.

I was disappointed to see zero growth in Sheema’s character, like she is enjoying all the bounties of life so not sure why she has to be so so bitter that too with her husband being in charge of the finances now? Why’s there a need for her to be so indifferent to Abbi? Initially she used to be mad at Abbi because he was the one who dealt with everything & Rehan used to work as an employee but now her husband is doing everything so there’s no need for her to be so negative! Looks like Rehan has started to forgive Zubiya or if not, he has started to think on those lines because he has seen how hard Zubiya has worked to redeem herself & how she hasn’t given any reason to anyone to doubt her! Even though Sheema is just a side character but seeing the coverage she & her turbo tongue gets, I wish she tastes a spin of karma too to realize how wrong she is!

Asfand is busy with his routine & looks like he avoids coming back to Pakistan, may be because of the note at which he left in the first place. Gaiti, Usman & his wife along with Saim are busy in their own world but it was commendable how there was this undertone of sadness in their scenes, as if something is still missing from their lives & they are incomplete but are still living their life as it came. As usual, even after 5 years, Gaiti’s mom was only focused on Gaiti’s marriage but I loved when Gaiti gave her a shutup call!

Khalil wants Zubiya to get married & for that reason he contacted Mahjabeen, to apologize & also to suggest Zubiya’s marriage with her cousin but it couldn’t happen as Mohsin is already engaged. I liked the scene where Zubiya for the first time broke down in front of her father, it’s like she has been bearing this burden for so many years but now she couldn’t take it anymore & felt weak because she realized that all of her efforts have gone to waste as people are not ready to forget what she did. Another thing worth noticing in this episode was how Zubiya snubbed her colleague, it’s like she now has an trust issues & she wouldn’t trust any guy easily. Also, it looked like Zubiya didn’t want to give anyone any chance to make any assumptions about her, that’s why she firmly said no to the guy who offered her a ride to her home!

Overall, this episode was decent but it was quite slow. I really wish they now move the story forward & especially the characters forward in such a way where their past is not attached to them anymore & we get to see them living life in their present because the focus on everyone’s past has been overdone now, to the point where at certain point I felt that the 5 year leap was not serving any purpose whatsoever! I’m hoping that the dynamics will change with Asfand’s re-entry. I really think the producers & the editors should consider cutting down on the slow pace of the drama by editing out all those unnecessary scenes & finishing it off around the 20th episode mark because there isn’t much left in the story & the long scenes & conversations make it even more obvious! Sajjal Ali & Ehtashamuddin were the stars of this episode, I loved their performances. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar.

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 14 Review – Boring!

Ohkay so, I will be completely honest I won’t call this episode slow & without sugarcoating it, I’d straight away call it boring. This episode of Yakeen Ka Safar was so boring that I was finding it hard to sit through it & while I was at it, I was whatsapping throughout because it failed to grab my interest. I am not exaggerating but I am actually feeling relieved that the episode finished just now & I am done with it. Yes, I do understand that after every other happening episode, the makers of this drama tend to tone things down a bit so that the viewers get the crux of the situation but then again, we moved past Noori’s track so I didn’t see the need to be making things so slow that it would fail to keep the viewers engaged!

This episode was all over the place, like it covered so many non-issues & gave coverage to so many things but despite that, it didn’t give me anything to talk about. It was one of those episodes where you hardly get to discuss anything & just end up summarizing it in your review as the situations are so one-dimensional. I feel a lot for Gaiti, like every time I see her, I feel the pain that she is going through. Gaiti finally gave birth to her & Daniyal’s son & it was good that after the birth of her child, she was relieved & was being calm. Yes, she misses her husband till date but now it seemed like she found a purpose to live her life & she was happy with it.

Asfand was trying to find some evidences but the possibility of him finding anything is next to zero because now with Rab Nawaz’s death, everything has been dismissed & there’s no chance that he’d get to Dilawar or even Urooj to prove Daniyal’s innocence. In my opinion, Usman has to be the most pathetic character ever, like he fits the proverb ‘once a coward, always a coward’ perfectly. I don’t feel a thing for him & I don’t even feel like relating to his pain, in fact I find myself relating more to his wife when she cries while missing Daniyal because she being a mother always wanted her child to stay safe but Usman, despite knowing what Rab Nawaz was capable of didn’t do anything, so to see him cutting himself off from the entire world doesn’t really make any difference. His indifference at the birth of his grandson was another thing that made me detest his character. Now when he saw that Asfand was doing some work on his own to get to the culprits, in stead of encouraging him, Usman decided to scurry away from this entire situation!?!?!

Ohkay, we get it, Rehan & Sheema are sick of Zubiya & they can’t stand her but can we PLEASE move forward? Even in the scenes where they showed Zubiya in her college, she was seen sitting there aimlessly thinking about all the things that her brother & his wife said about her? Seriously? How many times are we going to hear the same things? WE GET IT, seriously we do, we do get it that Rehan hates Zubiya & Sheema is only bothered about gathering everything that Abbi has, so what else? At this point, I really feel that they have nothing to show in Zubiya’s track, like even now when the new phase of her life has begun, they had nothing to show that is why they kept on bringing up her past to add some drama in her track which seemed so unnecessary because now we know that with Abbi’s support & encouragement she is working hard to fulfill her mother’s dream, so can we please keep the focus on that? When Abbi has forgiven Zubiya & when he has announced that he trusts her, then Rehan, Sheema & their hatred shouldn’t be getting this much coverage, again & again!

Faryal got married, Asfand was heartbroken because of which he decided to go to America to complete his specialization. Usman & Co. moved to the northern areas. Gaiti’s parents didn’t see the good in the birth of Gaiti’s son & they spoke about bringing her back because they want her to get married again, like seriously!?!?! Also, Zubiya didn’t get married because her in laws to be found out about her past & Abbi had an accident, so this is what the entire episode was all about!

Overall, I found this episode boring & way too slow. I am not sure if there’s much left in the story because with Asfand moving to America, the hope that we had that he’d be able to get to the truth behind Daniyal’s death has been crushed. I don’t see it happening where Daniyal’s innocence will be proved ever, so that thing is out of the window. Also, I think all there’s left in the story is Zubiya & Asfand crossing paths & falling for each other? I hope they reach to that point of the story quickly & wrap it up decently because even though we’re through 14 episodes only, I don’t think the story even has that much of a content for it to cross the 20th episode mark that too without dragging, so let’s hope they end it decently & quickly! Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar.

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 13 Review – Brilliant!

Ohkay so, it was yet another interesting episode of Yakeen Ka Safar. I enjoyed watching this episode because it turned new pages of the story & things moved forward, giving the viewers enough reasons to keep on following it. I must say the consistency with which the director has directed this drama is commendable, not once you find loopholes or mistakes & everything is covered in such a convincing manner that it shows the grip that the director had on this script. I wish the approach of the director remains the same till the end of the drama.

So, my prediction was wrong & Majid wasn’t alive. Asfand succeeded in his attempt of reaching to Majid only to find out that even he couldn’t survive. Both Asfand & Daniyal’s friend immediately understood that it was none other than Rab Nawaz Shah who did this to Majid as well. For the first time, I liked how Asfand’s character came to the forefront & he showed a completely different personality. Yes, this is exactly what happens when you are faced with trials and tribulations, sadly Asfand is going through a rough phase because he understands the gravity of the situation & more than that, he has a motive, where he wants to prove Daniyal’s innocence. To be honest, I am actually glad that after this episode, I won’t get to see the actor playing the role of Faryal, like I am glad that her role is over & I’d suggest her to improve her acting & dialogue delivery before appearing in any other drama again because she is quite a weak actor. Faryal only spoke the words of her father & she also believed that Daniyal was guilty of all the charges that were pressed against him. Asfand like anyone who is emotionally shattered relied on Faryal to help him overcome this depression but she in stead of doing anything, pushed all the wrong buttons, but it is good that Asfand got to know about Faryal’s reality & got his answer that she is not interested in him anymore.

Noori had to take matters in her hand. Yes, she knew that she was fighting the powerful & she also saw how trying to go through the proper channel cost Daniyal his life, therefore she decided to deliver the verdict to the culprits herself. It is sad that she died as well but at least, she proved it that she was a victim & that Jahangir & Rab Nawaz were the culprits. That entire scenario was executed brilliantly, like Rab Nawaz wouldn’t have ever imagined that the girl he was speaking about was sitting right in front of him, waiting for the right moment to wipe that smug look off his face. Even though it is sad that Noori had such a small life span & that she died proving her innocence but at least, by this move, she also proved Daniyal’s innocence to some extent too because it showed people that Jahangir was guilty & he died while paying for his crimes!

What Gaiti’s mother said was shocking. Yes, being a parent & being someone who wants what’s best for her child, she shared what she had in her heart but the way Gaiti stood her ground made me respect her even more. She refused to listen to her mother because for her, this baby is always going to be a reminiscent of Daniyal, the perfect husband that she had. I felt so much for Gaiti when she was sitting alone in her room, thinking about Daniyal, it is unfortunate that she is going to spend the rest of her life like that but at least, she is ready to invest herself in her baby & she will make something out of her life for herself & most importantly for her child.

I am glad that Zubiya’s track moved forward too. It was interesting to see how Zubiya got the motivation to do well in her studies only because she knew that she had her father’s support. It shows how little encouragement does wonders to someone & this is exactly what happened with Zubiya too. She survived the rough patch & now she was planning to shape her future. It showed that Zubiya found a motive in her life, a goal that she was eager to achieve & what made it even better for her was the fact that her father was ready to support her every step of the way. The way Rehan suggested Zubiya’s wedding & the way Khalil chose to listen to that advice was also understandable, but I would’ve liked if Khalil had warned Rehan to mind his own business as well. Khalil knows that Rehan out of his hatred for Zubiya suggested that she should get married but in stead even he thought it was a good idea. To be honest, I am getting tired of Sheema & her rants, like there’s nothing good that comes out of her mouth & I wish she gets zero coverage because she’s off-putting. Anyways, it does seem like Zubiya got a proposal from a decent family, but let’s see how things are going to unfold.

Overall, this episode was quite interesting. It was good that Asfand got some coverage & we got to know more about him. He most certainly is not going to sit quietly but I have a feeling that he will be discouraged by Usman. In the precap, the way Usman suggested moving to a new place goes to show that he is just a coward who is not ready to face the reality, like I know losing Daniyal has taken a toll on him but to see him trying to move on in such a way only shows that he has no backbone to fight for the right by defending his son & trying to prove his innocence. At least Asfand is going to try but I am sure Usman won’t let that happen. Everyone’s acting in this episode was spot on, I for the first time enjoyed Ahad Raza Mir‘s presence & performance in this drama & I hope Asfand’s character keeps on getting better. Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 12 Review – Heartwrenching!

This episode of Yakeen Ka Safar was emotionally overwhelming because every single emotion & reaction related to Daniyal & his death was portrayed so realistically & with such accuracy that it actually touched me on a very different level. The director along with the actors deserve full points for executing this aspect of the story in such a convincing & realistic manner.

So, another page was turned & once again, another ugly truth was revealed as to how people in power shut those eyes who dare to look at them & their flaws. Daniyal lost his life because he dared to air Rab Nawaz Shah & his son’s dirty laundry in the public. What’s sad is that Rab Nawaz’s goons turned Daniyal’s murder into a suicide & made it look like everything became a bit too overbearing for Daniyal to cope up with, whereas those who were close to him knew that Daniyal was anything but a coward. Yes, the evidences & the scenarios do paint the picture of a suicide but those who are aware of the corrupt system know that this is nothing but a murder as Daniyal was trying to punish the criminal for his crime but sadly, that criminal was far more powerful & evil.

I must say everyone’s reaction to Daniyal’s death was heart-wrenching. Daniyal’s mother, his father, then Asfand, everyone was not only shook but in denial as they were finding it hard to accept the reality that Daniyal, such a perfect son & brother was no more. For Usman’s family, they lost their precious son but for others, they were a bit quick to judge & still believed the false picture that the police investigation & the media was painting in regards to Daniyal’s character & his death. For that reason I loathed Usman’s brother, like he didn’t have an ounce of compassion in him to at least stand by his brother’s side in such a difficult time.

I found it loathsome how Rab Nawaz rewarded his goon with an overseas trip & what made me hate him a bit more was the fact that he was now concerned about the NGO worker too & wanted to put a pressure on her using her son as well. They actually have revealed the real face of such men in power & authority who do not care about anyone else but themselves & for them, taking someone’s precious life means nothing because it guarantees them mental peace that their opponent is not going to reveal their truth to the world as his tongue has been tied forever.

I must say out of everyone in Daniyal’s family, I was dreading seeing Gaiti’s reaction the most & yes, I couldn’t contain myself when I heard everything that Gaiti had to say about her husband. The fact that Gaiti was feeling guilty that she didn’t talk to Daniyal properly before he left was heartrending, like she knew she couldn’t undo that moment when her husband wanted to talk to her & she didn’t give him a chance because she never in her wildest dream would’ve imagined that her husband won’t be returning home. Gaiti is expecting Daniyal’s child & the fact that he is not going to be there when that child will be born is horrifying.

I really wish they move Zubiya’s track a bit forward now because all that’s happening in her side of the story for quite some while now is that she either is quiet or is getting taunted by Rehan & Sheema. I really want to see some progress in her track now even though I do understand that they had to make this episode entirely about Daniyal but just a scene or two other than Zubiya getting taunted would’ve sufficed.

Another thing that I liked in this episode was how Asfand visited Daniyal’s office to look for some sort of clue, even though he didn’t get anything substantial but the fact that he & his friend got to know about Majid was a very little progress that they made. Sadly, now when Asfand will spot Majid’s house, he will find out that Majid is no more too or may be Majid didn’t die because after he got shot, they didn’t show anything about him after that. May be they are keeping this suspense & Majid is alive who will now help Asfand. While looking at how helpless everyone was feeling, all I could think of was how are they going to find out the truth? Usman is not going to do anything so I don’t really expect much from him but will Daniyal’s family ever find out the truth behind his murder? Will they ever find out how Daniyal died? The fact that Noori was told to leave also showed that even the NGO Worker lost the hope in this case & wanted out from it because Daniyal’s tragic ending obviously weakened her too.

Overall, this episode was perfect, like the way every single actor acted to portray the sadness that Daniyal’s death brought to them was phenomenal. For me, Hira Mani definitely took the crown in this episode with her perfect performance, like she actually convinced us all to cry with Gaiti at the loss of her husband Daniyal, which is her win as an actor. Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 11 Review – Intense!!!

Ohkay so, what an intense episode of Yakeen Ka Safar, I appreciate the idea of extended episodes that the channel resorted to during Eid, it really has taken the story forward & made things quite interesting & fast paced. A lot happened in this episode as well & the note at which it ended had me biting my nails. Even though the episode has just ended a few minutes ago, I am already looking forward to the next one.

So, this episode was all about Daniyal, his struggles & the obstacles that he was facing one after another. Usman did bail Daniyal out but he was so not happy with what he had to face because of the son that he loves so much. Yes, we do understand that Usman was furious because this entire controversy put a dent on his image but then, if we think rationally, it does make us question what’s important for Usman, his ego, his reputation or his son & his well-being? Ever since Daniyal has taken Noori’s case, Usman has only spoken against it, in stead of supporting, encouraging or even guiding Daniyal in approaching this case properly. Usman did speak about his ‘experience’ citing it as a reason why he always told Daniyal not to get involved in Noori’s case, but then again, where was his ‘experience’ when he received Rab Nawaz’s call where he clearly threatened him? Why didn’t Usman’s ‘experience’ tell him that he should be keen on Daniyal’s safety first before anything else as he was dealing with politicians and probably his paid goons too?

Gaiti’s concerns were convincing & understandable, her fear of anything happening to Daniyal was conveyed perfectly. Yes, it was Gaiti who supported Daniyal when everyone was against his decision of standing by Noori’s side but seeing how things went out of control, even she found it hard to support her husband because for her, his safety meant everything & she didn’t want him to go through anything because he means the world to her. I found Faryal’s father’s reaction realistic & convincing as well, there’s always someone in the family who loves to blow things out of proportion & in stead of supporting those who are faced with a difficulty, that particular person chooses to listen to others in stead of giving their own family members a chance to explain themselves. Even Faryal seemed a little put off by the entire incident as if she also was finding it hard to see Daniyal the way she used to before this controversy happened.

It was interesting to see how Daniyal picked himself up & decided to look for more evidences to bring make Rab Nawaz & Jahangir pay for their crimes. Majid was a true friend of Daniyal who not only believed in him but actually knew everything about Urooj. The way Daniyal & Majid approached Urooj’s ex-husband’s family was quite interesting & not only that, they actually found quite a lot of evidences. They both were after Dilawar too but then again, being an experienced player of this game, Dilawar was hard to approach. Sadly, Majid also faced the brunt of being Daniyal’s supporter, he never would’ve imagined that he’d have to pay such a heavy price for standing up for the right & supporting someone who was trying to do the right thing.

Daniyal & Asfand’s conversation was nice, like Asfand was actually realizing the gravity of the situation but more than that, even he was scared for his brother. I so wish Asfand had decided to accompany his brother to the office because Daniyal did suggest that it was a holiday, meaning no one would’ve been in his office anyways. Daniyal was shot but I am still not thinking much about it because I am hoping he will be safe? Let’s see!

Zubiya’s track has become stagnant for now but I don’t mind because there’s so much happening in Daniyal’s track that they obviously had to maintain a balance by making one track a little slow. I find it amusing how Rehan keeps on blabbing about leaving the house because of Zubiya, whereas even he knows that he ain’t going anywhere, that too when he has Sheema in his life who believes her son is entitled to everything that Khalil has. I wish Khalil stands up for Zubiya once again & shows Rehan his right place but he is too engulfed in his own guilt that he really is not in a position to say anything, the fact that Khalil has allowed Zubiya to pursue her studies was enough of a support from his side. So, Zubiya has become a persona non grata & her friends made sure to let her know that they don’t want to be associated with her. It is actually quite sad that every step of the way, every single day Zubiya is reminded of the grave mistake that she committed but what they are showing is the reality because this is exactly how girls like Zubiya are treated. I really want to see Zubiya moving on from this dark patch of her life & doing something good for herself.

Overall, this episode was quite intense & I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. There were some amazing performances in tonight’s episode. Shaz Khan definitely takes the crown for portraying Daniyal’s character to perfection. I really can’t wait to see Ahad Raza Mir in short hair, the fact that his hair not only were all over the place but looked greasy really gave Asfand’s character a very weird look, so much so that I was finding it hard to take his character seriously because his concerns for his brother were spot on. Hira Mani was convincing as Gaiti too & Sajal Ali has been performing well as well. The preview of the next episode seemed interesting, I really hope Daniyal is safe. Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 10 Review – Family Affair!

Ohkay so, even though this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar came with a major plot twist, I found it a bit too slow for my liking. Yes, I do understand that not every single episode can promise a lot of drama or a fast pace but the fact that there was so much focus on Usman’s family function, it kind of made things a bit too boring for me. Anyways, I am glad that everything is done & now the future episodes will be eventful & relevant to the actual story. I wish in stead of focusing so much on Daniyal’s family, they had shown us a scene or two of Zubiya as well.

So, the major chunk of this episode was dedicated to Usman & his wife’s anniversary celebration which Asfand, Gaiti & Faryal were planning for. Yes, for a change it is good to see such a family on screen that shares casual conversations & has a great relationship but then again, these scenes look good when they last for a few seconds as they make things light-hearted but such scenarios can definitely not fill the entire episode to make it interesting. In the middle of this, what I liked was how Gaiti was constantly trying to read what was on her husband Daniyal’s mind. I wish Daniyal hadn’t kept things to himself & he had shared something with her before he fell into the pit that was set for him.

Finally, Daniyal got heed of Urooj & he felt suspicious therefore he decided to have a background check on her but then again, I found it a bit unconvincing since Daniyal himself knew he was handling such a complicated case & was fighting such a powerful man, he should’ve been mindful of these things beforehand. I liked the way Daniyal threw a curve-ball at Urooj to confirm the doubts that he had about her but then again, he couldn’t see what was coming. I think before hiring her, Daniyal should’ve inquired about her but then again, they had to show all this to add twists & turns into the story.

Urooj finally did what she was assigned for & she succeeded in trapping Daniyal effortlessly. I still find it a bit unconvincing that in the lobby of his office, there were no CCTV cameras, like considering they are in such a field where they have to deal with people from all walks of life, it is a bit too unrealistic that this detail was missing. If they had shown this to be from the 90’s era, I would’ve given them a benefit of the doubt but then seeing they are showing us this drama in 2017, this does seem to be a loophole.

So, Usman found out about everything & rushed to see Daniyal but in stead of telling him that everything was going to be alright, Usman continued to whine about how wrong Daniyal’s decision was. I think in stead of blaming Daniyal & telling him that he shouldn’t have taken Noori’s case, Usman should reflect on himself first as to what he did to keep his son safe from getting into trouble, that too when he himself directly received a threat from Rab Nawaz Shah.

Overall, this episode was a bit too slow but yes, the things that needed to be covered which actually mattered were executed decently. It was interesting how within a few seconds after receiving the call about Urooj, Daniyal understood that she was upto something, like he could sense some trouble there & Shaz Khan acted out that entire scene brilliantly. I liked Hira Mani’s acting in this episode as well, like she has been performing well but in this episode especially the concern on Gaiti’s face for her husband was showcased perfectly by her. I am actually looking forward to the next episode because looks like Zubiya will come back into the picture too & Daniyal will have to convince his unreasonable father that he is not guilty. Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 09 – Mind-blowing!

Ohkay so, this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar was my absolute favorite. I must say the director should be commended here for keeping things so simple on the surface but adding so many little details in almost every other scene to give it a meaning & a depth for the viewers to enjoy. When you watch Yakeen Ka Safar you feel as if you’re watching a life of regular people unfold on-screen because that’s how effortless & realistic the director has made everything & for that he deserves a round of applause.

Daniyal finally got a direct message from Rab Nawaz Shah & he got to know what Rab Nawaz Shah is capable of doing & what he can actually do. I liked the fact that both Gaiti & Asfand felt something off about this entire situation, like it was nice to see a connection of this sort where those who are emotionally attached to Daniyal felt some unease. I think Daniyal should be a little cautious as he must be new to the field but he is not oblivious to how corrupt these politicians can be. It is good that Daniyal has this drive to help people & he feels passionately about bringing justice to Noori but then he has to keep his eyes open as well & he has to be realistic because in the end, his safety comes first & he has to take care of himself not for his family but also for Noori as her life depends on him too. Yes, Daniyal did buy a gun but then again, that’s just not enough. I so wish Usman had done something to help his son because he was the one who received Rab Nawaz Shah’s call directly.

So, Noori found out that her family has moved somewhere else & Daniyal thought he could use it against Rab Nawaz Shah in order to prove that he pressurized & harassed Noori’s family. I think being a lawyer, they should’ve shown Daniyal to be a bit more smart in a sense where he could read people’s actions & intentions. Daniyal told Urooj to take care of the confidential documents related to Noori’s case but then again, I am not sure how & why did he start trusting Urooj so easily? They should’ve shown that Daniyal had this strong sense of intuition, because of which he wasn’t trusting Urooj with such important documents. Daniyal should’ve known that being helpless didn’t mean that Urooj would be sincere to him? Like the way Urooj told him about all his problems, it definitely meant that she was in need of money so for her, all her sincerity would be with her family & the one who will pay her more will be able to get the work done from her. I wish now that Daniyal was forced to do some thinking, he also grows a little conscious around Urooj & shouldn’t trust her so easily.

Now, talking about my favorite scene of this episode, it was Zubiya’s confession to Khalil but I loved how Zubiya was brought to this point. My my, I found myself tearing up when Khalil broke down & gave Zubiya the comfort she was looking for. I found it so realistic how Zubiya’s mother guided her in her dream & told her to apologize, those who have lost their near & dear ones would know that in a time of despair, those who have left you do come & guide you in your dreams & this is exactly what happened with Zubiya. She was avoiding her family members for nearly 2 months but just because she got some guidance, she found the courage to face her father & apologize for her mistakes.

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 09 - Mind-blowing!

Can we say that Khalil has redeemed himself, I think yes! Not that all that he has done in the past has been forgiven & forgotten but the fact that he is now aware of his own mistakes & feels responsible does change my perspective of him. Who would’ve thought that a father like Khalil will take the entire responsibility of his daughter’s mistakes & will end up blaming himself for what Zubiya & his entire family was going through. Khalil actually understood that this was karma’s spin on him where was now paying the price for pushing his wife to death & for doubting her purity. What I loved the most was that Khalil just didn’t admit his mistakes to himself but chose to share everything with Zubiya to put her aching heart to ease. It is true, just as much as Zubiya was affected by what she went through, this entire incident forced Khalil to reflect on his mistakes & he had no escape, that is why he had to accept that he was basically facing the brunt for all that he has done all his life.

I loved the fact that Khalil took a stand for Zubiya & told Rehan clearly that he intended to educate her daughter because that is what their mother wanted. Rehan should know that he doesn’t stand a chance now & he has zero authority. I loved how Khalil gave a shut-up call to Sheema too, just to restore Zubiya’s position in the house as even he could see that Zubiya suffered alone for such a long time & now she was begging for a chance. What I loved the most about this entire scenario was how Zubiya slept in her father’s room & how Khalil chose not to disturb her, it was like he was giving her the comfort she longed for all her life & especially in this phase where she hit the rock bottom. Telling Zubiya to have breakfast at the table with the rest of the family members was also Khalil’s way of telling her that she is not an outcast anymore. Also, Zubiya has spent a lot of sleepless nights but it was suggested that after such a long time she slept in so much of peace that too in her father’s room that she not only lost track of time but also seemed startled that she wasn’t in her room, in her own bed. Since there has been so much of focus on Zubiya’s ‘aala taleem’, I am guessing she will enroll in MBBS & may be that’s where she will cross paths with Asfand, as it was also suggested that Zubiya was a bright student, as that’s what her friends were discussing that she was focused & always on-time with her assignments.

Overall, this episode was beautiful. I enjoyed Zubiya & Khalil’s track a lot more & I can’t wait to see how Zubiya will now pick up the pieces that too with her father’s support. It is just so amazing that Khalil has now turned into a father that Zubiya never had but sadly, the one who should’ve seen all this is not here anymore. Zubiya had her mother’s love when Khalil wasn’t around & now she got her father’s love when her mother is no more. Even though I felt that Zubiya’s track became stagnant in last couple of episodes but I am glad they gave it a slow treatment because now the conversation that both Zubiya & Khalil had, had a lot of impact & it was absolutely heart-warming. I must say, Ehtashamuddin & Sajal Ali, they were the stars of this episode & while looking at them perform, I said to myself that no other actors could’ve done justice to this scene in particular the way these two did. Mind blowing! Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar.

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 08 Review – Pretty Convincing!

Ohkay so, this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar was slow but still had some developments to its credit. I must say I love the way this drama has been directed, its like the director has made sure to make all the scenarios convincing & the grim treatment he has given to most of the situations add a lot of depth & meaning to them & not to be forgotten that specific soundtrack & that humming, it just makes things perfect!

So, Faryal got some coverage after a while & it is interesting how without making it too obvious, all of Faryal’s shortcomings & her immaturity are brought to the surface. Faryal’s attitude & her personality is completely opposite to Asfand’s & even his family, so it will definitely become difficult for them to keep up with a girl like Faryal but still it was nice to see her being treated so nicely by her in-laws-to-be. For a change, it was good to see Gaiti in Shalwar Kameez but then she fulfilled the quota by showing up in her night gown by the end of the episode. It was also good to know that Gaiti is a dietitian & she intends to run her own clinic, whereas I never saw that coming!

Khalil has lost everything, he has lost the drive to live, he has lost the courage to face the world but then again he still hasn’t understood that Sheema is equally responsible for getting the word out because usually in such situations, people brush the facts under the carpet but Sheema aired the dirty laundry of her in laws because she wanted to get revenge. It was interesting to see Sheema’s reactions & that satisfaction on her face when Khalil was handing over everything to her & Rehan. Sheema never would’ve thought that this plan of hers will yield her all these rewards that she has longed for all these years. As much as I have detested Khalil in the beginning, I find it easy to feel for him now because he hasn’t done or said anything to Zubiya & is just engulfed in his own guilt for being a failure, as a husband & also as a father!

The phone-call that Zubiya got from her cousin was so convincing because this is exactly what happens, people forget to even greet you for years but the moment they pick something, they come up & act as your well-wishers to get the gruesome details & this is exactly what her cousin Summaya was trying to do. Zubiya’s flashback of her mother was another beautiful scene, it showed that Zubiya was not only feeling lonely but she was feeling guilty for ignoring the things that her mother taught her.

So, the new entry Urooj is a spy planted by Rab Nawaz Shah’s lawyer into Daniyal’s office. To be honest, for a moment I did want to believe Urooj & her story but all this while I did find something off about her, mainly because of the actress who has been chosen for this role. I have never seen this actress playing any positive role so I thought may be she actually tried something new but she didn’t prove me wrong & ended up proving that she was once again playing a negative role in this drama. So, Urooj & her speech showcasing her helplessness got the better of Daniyal & he ended up giving her the job only to make things difficult for him further. I really hope nothing happens to Daniyal at this stage but we’ll have to see. I think Usman should have hired some security guards for Daniyal immediately after he received a phone-call from Rab Nawaz Shah because he already told Usman that things could go wrong. Also, I don’t know but I found it a little unconvincing that in such a well-reputed & well-run law firm, there were no surveillance cameras in the offices because Urooj looked through such confidential documents & no one found out about it!

Overall, this episode was interesting & I loved the direction of the last scene where Daniyal walks out of his office, like there was this quotient of suspense which was covered brilliantly. All the actors have done a great job. I really wanted to see some more developments in Zubiya’s track which thankfully the preview of the next episode promised, I think Khalil will be taking a stand for Zubiya & he will end up supporting her which will rile Rehan up. Let’s see. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar.

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 07 Review – Intense & Convincing!

Ohkay so, this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar was intense & I actually liked how it got a little slow by the end, like it was needed to calm things down especially after showing so much in both Zubiya & Noori’s tracks. I must say the attention to detail in this drama is commendable, like in every other scene there are very little things that add more realism & depth to the situation, which I actually enjoy watching, as it shows how much effort and hard work the director as well as the actors put in to make this show what it is today.

So, just because Rameez grew a little impatient, he ended up revealing his true face to Zubiya. I am glad that at that moment Zubiya understood everything & took an immediate action by choosing not to fall prey to more of Rameez’s lies. I liked how casually both Zubiya & Asfand crossed paths with each other, even though the situation was unfortunate but their interaction seemed totally convincing. Zubiya was definitely lucky that she not only succeeded in saving herself but also found someone who stopped Rameez from chasing her. I think all the things that those people who gathered around said made a lot of sense because this is how usually such boys and girls are perceived who are found in such a scenario. Yes, people are a bit quick to judge but then again, the fact still remains that Zubiya went to Rameez’s place by her own will. Yes, Zubiya’s intentions were pure as she wanted to get married to him but she is also guilty of crossing the boundary of her home & forsaking her family’s reputation.

Even though I feel for Zubiya a lot especially how I know about her background & the emotional trauma that she went through but the treatment that she got after returning to her home was also realistic because this is exactly how such girls are treated who are caught after being involved with someone. I always had a feeling that Rehan will turn against Zubiya & I always thought that Sheema will brain feed him, yes Sheema has played a major part in what has happened but then at this stage Zubiya is guilty too & she herself has done such a thing that no one will forgive her for. It is unfortunate but it is the truth that no one in such circumstances try to get into the girl’s head to understand why she took such a step & what pushed her to do such stuff, like in this case Rehan or even Khalil didn’t even think much about what they might’ve done wrong or where they must’ve shown the negligence for Zubiya to find comfort in a stranger. Asfand stumbling upon Zubiya’s Student ID & Zubiya’s swollen face suggesting that she got brutally hit by Rehan were a few little details that I found quite convincing. Asfand just picked her Student’s ID up but I am sure this will bring him to her in the future, how, I am definitely looking forward to that!

So, finally Jahangir & two of his friends were arrested & were made to appear in the court. For the first time we got to see the difference in the ideologies of both Usman & Daniyal. Even though Usman has made a name for himself in this field & he is considered to be one of the most well-reputed lawyers in the country, but the way he showed signs of distress & disapproved Daniyal’s choices suggested that he has earned this spot by playing it safe, whereas Daniyal is not only enthusiastic to bring a change but wants to help people as much as he can even if it means putting himself in danger. Where Usman believes in putting his safety & comfort first, Daniyal believes in taking bigger risks to reap bigger rewards. This showed the first clash that both the father & the son being lawyers had but I am sure Daniyal is someone who will stick to his decision. It was good to see Daniyal getting a support of his wife Gaiti because she knows what this means to Daniyal & how much he wants to help Noori out but it was also quite sweet of her to remind him that he should be mindful of his safety as well because she knows how things work especially in the matters or cases that involve powerful & resourceful politicians.

I liked the fact that they showed us the true face of media in this episode too. It just took one false statement of the lawyer to convince the news reporter that may be Noori was at fault & this entire case was staged to bring Jahangir or Rab Nawaz down. Very conveniently Rab Nawaz’s lawyer put the entire blame on the opposition party saying they are trying to frame Rab Nawaz & his family, which actually seemed to spark the interest of the news reporter. The way the reporter turned lawyer’s allegation into a question for Noori showed how for them ratings matter the most & they don’t really believe in ethics, morals or have any sense of right or wrong!

I liked how Daniyal’s little act of kindness where he brought books for Noori put her in such a good mood. It showed that it takes a very small gesture to show someone the right path & help someone in finding a direction in life. Noori seemed quite touched by Daniyal’s faith in her where he told her to pursue her education, it showed how victims of these atrocities can be & should be treated, with utmost respect and also how they need people around them who can put their trust in them & give them the confidence to come out of the dark past. For the first time Noori was seen thinking about herself & her future, which happened after Daniyal showed her the right direction. As usual, Rab Nawaz resorted to the cheap tactics of threatening Noori’s family, even though I felt bad for Noori’s mother & siblings, I didn’t feel anything for her father Lateef because this served him right. Lateef thought that just by estranging Noori, he will be able to get away from every responsibility of being her father but it showed him that no matter what he’ll do, it will still haunt him. I hope Bilal contacts Daniyal & tells him how Rab Nawaz’s goons threatened his entire family & how they shifted to a new place.

So, Khalil finally got a much awaited reality check, even though I feel bad that it is Zubiya who has become a reason behind it but still, he needed this. For the first time in life Khalil was at a loss of words because he realized how easy it was to spew venom against others’ daughters but when it came to him, his hands were tied & so was his tongue. Where did that Khalil go who claimed that he would either kill himself or his daughter if she’d do something like that? It showed how weak he was & how his weakness was haunting him because despite wanting to, he was unable to do anything. It wasn’t like Zubiya didn’t return home, she did & she was right there sitting under his roof but Khalil chose to isolate himself & reflect on all of his past mistakes. Another detail which I picked was how Khalil was eating the same breakfast in the flashback scene, like they have shown some consistency in both his attitude & his lifestyle. Khalil was reminded of how he took advantage of his wife’s helplessness & her weakness where she couldn’t leave him because of their kids but now, nothing can be undone & this is his punishment. It was actually quite surprising how right in front of Khalil, Sheema was speaking to every other relative on the phone giving them details about Zubiya but Khalil couldn’t say a word as he was too pre-occupied with his own thoughts. This was the same Khalil who told everyone to keep their tongues tied when it came to his wife’s death but now he had no control over what was happening around him because he himself was feeling defeated. Another little detail that I noticed & enjoyed in the background was Sheema’s expressions, like she was enjoying seeing the suffering of her father in law because she was getting her revenge & also how she got a little restless when her husband Rehan said he will leave this house, like this is something that she doesn’t even want to think about so the sudden change in her expression was perfect!

Overall, this episode was quite intense & was directed perfectly. All the actors added a lot of depth in all the situation, be it Rameez & his portrayal of sick intentions or Sheema, who was finding peace in the suffering of her father in law, or Zubiya who was shook to no end or Noori who was finding it hard to stay strong, all the actors have done a commendable job & deserve a lot of praises for acting their characters to perfection. Even though Ehtashamuddin didn’t have much dialogues but the way he portrayed Khalil’s suffering that too in silence was phenomenal, like just by looking at him & his body language you could see the storm that was brewing in his heart, mind & soul, it was amazing. I love the soundtrack that they have used in the intense situations, I just find it daunting but in a very nice way, if that makes sense, lol. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this episode & the preview seems interesting. I like how Noori’s track is panning out but at this point I am more interested in Zubiya’s track. Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 06 Review – Intense & Gripping!

Ohkay so, this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar did seem slow in the beginning but as it passed by, it got intense & the note at which it ended had me biting my nails because of the way things unfolded. The actors deserve full marks for breathing life into their characters & the director deserves full marks for making things so realistic that you just can’t help relate to them on some other level.

It was quite interesting how they showed a transition in Zubiya’s attitude & her overall mannerisms, like she was on a different tangent because she met a guy who she was in love with & who was making her happy. This is exactly what happens when girls at a tender age fall in love where they don’t have any idea about the intricacies of life but just start living in some lala land because of the promises that their partners make to them. Just because Zubiya gave away every single detail about herself to Rameez, he made the most of it & used everything to manipulate her. It was interesting to see how Rameez knew what he had to say & when to push his luck because he had read Zubiya so clearly that he knew that she was just a lonely girl who longed for some love & attention. I must say the way the writer & the director elaborated their relationship was quite intelligent, like they showed how Rameez was testing Zubiya & the lengths she could go to by emotionally blackmailing her & just when he saw that she would do anything that he’d say, he made another move.

I must say the way Daniyal approached Noori’s case was brilliant. What is commendable here is how they have shown Daniyal being emotionally invested in this case as well. It was actually quite sweet that Daniyal wasn’t just playing his role as a lawyer but was encouraging Noori to pursue her studies, since he knows that she feels passionately about education & was a teacher in her village. Daniyal met SHO Ayaaz & told him to file the FIR against Jahangir & his friends. Once again they shed a light on how policemen despite knowing the reality do everything to put a lid on it but just because Daniyal had medical reports, Ayaaz couldn’t do much.

My favorite part of this entire episode was Daniyal’s meeting with Bilal. Even though I have always been against the usage of children in our dramas but characters like Zebo, Jazza & Bilal restore my faith in the fact that young boys & girls can also be used in the dramas to serve a better purpose & to add that quotient of innocence that children are a picture of. Bilal’s refusal to take the money was another very sweet aspect, it showed that Noori taught him self-sufficiency & even at such a tender age, he was mature enough to not take any favors. I think it was intelligent of Daniyal to put that opportunity to good use where he told Bilal to report him everything, like he could see that the young boy was eager to help his sister & wanted to do everything for her. I will say that I was disappointed in Lateef, like he is being scared for no good reason, at least he should’ve given Daniyal a chance to explain everything to him or could’ve asked him how Noori was doing. It seems as if Lateef is relieved that he doesn’t have to deal with Noori anymore, which is a shame.

So, Rameez pushed Zubiya to elope with him & Zubiya being naive that she is agreed to that. I think this was a bit unconvincing that a girl who comes from such a strict & conservative family got so much of confidence to take such a bold step. Yes, restrictions & undue ones at that can push people to the limit but Zubiya gave in a bit too easily. All this while I was hoping that may be Rameez’s intentions were pure but he proved the otherwise because Rameez just wants to use Zubiya & throw her like a tissue paper & just because he could see that Zubiya needed some sweet talking to get comfortable, he continued with it.

I must say I enjoyed seeing how Sheema devised ways to insult Khalil in front of everyone & how with so much of subtlety she got back at him. Yes, she was wrong in not guiding Zubiya & just being a spectator but then seeing how Khalil insulted her parents & didn’t allow her to attend her sister’s wedding, what else can be expected from her? Even though Sheema knew that Zubiya was planning to run away with Rameez, she kept it to herself & waited for the right time to use everything against Khalil where she started calling every other relative to not inquire but actually inform them that Zubiya wasn’t home. Khalil couldn’t see what Sheema was doing but then again, he is someone who doesn’t believe in reflecting on his actions otherwise he would’ve understood that this was karma’s spin on him!

I thoroughly enjoyed watching this episode. Even though this episode had a slow start, everything was unfolded in a very convincing manner. The actors did such a great job & the director gave this episode a perfect treatment. The background music was spot on. I must say the switch between the scenarios where one girl was getting help to come out of her troubles & the other was falling into a deep pit was balanced out perfectly by the director. Beenish Raja stood out more than ever, she is a very fine actor. Sajjal Ali was phenomenal where she portrayed Zubiya’s hesitation but confidence in a perfect manner. Ehtashamuddin showcased Khalil’s state of mind to perfection as well. Bilal has to be one of my favorite characters in this drama & not to forget, the child artist has done such a brilliant job too. The preview has gotten me excited already & I can’t wait to see what Khalil’s reaction would be, so, definitely looking forward to the next episode. Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 05 Review – Good Developments!

Ohkay so, that was a bit slow but interesting episode of Yakeen Ka Safar. They obviously had to take this much of time to bring in some new developments in Zubiya’s track especially. What I actually appreciated more was how Noori got coverage & how she & Daniyal got to have a conversation with each other. The direction of the drama is spot-on & everything is being revealed in an appropriate manner.

So, Khalil insulted Sheema’s parents because according to him, any girl who gets married to a guy she loves & any such parents who are supportive of their daughter’s decisions are ‘beghairat’. In just a couple of seconds, Khalil showed them who he was where he not only insulted them but also made sure to let them know that he was noticing what was served in front of them. It is amusing how he being such a wealthy businessman acts like a small-hearted miser. Well, even though it can be classified as a cliché especially when that development came after showing us Khalil’s opinion on this matter, but still the treatment that they have given to Zubiya & Rameez’s track seems realistic

So, Zubiya finally gave a chance to Rameez, she obviously had no reason not to because she is living quite a lonely life & with her mother not being around her, she needed someone to confide in & for that Rameez seems like a perfect option. Even though all of this is basically karma’s spin on Khalil’s words where he dissed the idea of love affair & marriage & even though I have a feeling that it won’t bring any happiness to Zubiya, but seeing her at a happy place was nice for a change. It obviously can seem a little unrealistic that a girl who comes from such a conservative family with so many restrictions easily ended up giving in to the temptation of being associated with someone but considering her state of mind, everything falls in its place as Zubiya discussed, she has no one to talk to & then there’s this guy who can’t stop thinking about ways to speak to her, so she easily accepted this change as she was finding comfort in him. Zubiya’s association with Rameez also brought a few little changes in her attitude where at first they showed how she was scared but later she eased a bit & effortlessly lied to Sheema to save herself & in the end, she was having night-long conversations with him. Rameez seems nice but I am sure that’s all there’s to his character where he will only be bringing troubles into Zubiya’s life. Surprisingly Asfand & Rameez know each other so this was another detail that the director took care of & decided to get out of the way because in the future Asfand & Zubiya will be coming across each other.

Ohkay, my confusion was cleared in this episode. Noori being Sidhi was spotted by Romana in her village & then Romana brought her to Karachi with her. Romana then contacted Daniyal who was in Islamabad & he discussed how he will be travelling to Karachi to see Noori, so the issues that I had with the locations & their setting were dealt with in this episode. I loved the introduction that Romana gave to Daniyal about Noori, how she was considerate enough to let Daniyal know about her mental condition. Noori obviously has been through a lot so it was good to see at least two people feeling her pain & wanting to do everything to bring justice to her. Daniyal’s assurance to Noori was much needed & it was good that as soon as he heard about the details, Daniyal didn’t even hesitate & decided to get on board with this case. I think this is quite an admirable trait of Daniyal that despite knowing Rab Nawaz Shah, his political background & his power, he didn’t think twice before taking Noori’s case. Being comparatively new in this field, Daniyal surely is quite brave.

Noori’s conversation with Daniyal about how she educated herself & how supportive her father was of her was quite heart-warming. It was good to know that Lateef used to support Noori & was proud of his daughter but then again Noori also shed a light on the fact that he took others’ opinions into consideration as well & being a father of an ambitious girl, he would always second guess himself. Noori’s concerns about her siblings were portrayed beautifully too. Even though Noori has gone through so much & even though she knows she has been alienated by her parents, she still was thinking about them & her siblings, it shows how mature & considerate she was as a person.

Overall, this episode was a little detailed that is why it seemed a bit slow but I am glad a lot of progress was made in both Noori & Zubiya’s tracks. I really wish Suhaee hadn’t relied so much on makeup because it got a bit too hard to feel for her when she showed up right after Romana told that she tried to attempt suicide twice, like those who go through a mental & physical trauma don’t really look so well put-together. I feel that was Suhaee’s responsibility as an actor to give Noori’s character a realistic treatment, having said that, her strong performance did compensate a great deal but it would’ve taken it to another level if she had looked a bit more natural like Sajjal does as Zubiya, even though her situation isn’t as dire as Noori’s. Both Sajjal & Suhaee have done a great job in terms of acting. I will say I was surprisingly impressed with Shaz Khan’s acting because I was a bit concerned that when his character will come to a point where he will have to deliver a lot of Urdu dialogues, he will falter but he didn’t & it definitely was good to see. As much as I enjoy Hira Mani’s acting, I so wish there was more to her character than a wife clad in night gowns, waking up from one bout of sleep only to prepare herself for another. May be if they had shown her as Daniyal’s assistant it would’ve been better because seeing her as a supportive but aimless wife actually makes me feel it isn’t doing any justice to her talent as an actor. Anyways, I am looking forward to the next episode already because looks like Sheema will stumble upon Zubiya’s mobile phone & Daniyal will take his case forward. Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 04 Review – Great Developments!

Ohkay so, it was quite an interesting & meaningful episode of Yakeen Ka Safar. I am glad that the story is making a good progress in every other episode & this time around, the focus was shifted on the rape victim Noori. I must say I like how the director has maintained a balance between all the tracks & uses them to shift & play with the mood of the viewers in a perfect manner. Just when things get too heavy, we are taken to Gaiti & Daniyal’s track where things are pretty smooth & easy, it shows that the director was conscious of maintaining a balance between the situations & didn’t want to make it too intense & heavy.

So, Noori, the victim herself was turned into an outcast & was treated like one, not only by her family but everyone around. Sadly, Noori knew that her family will be facing the pressure because no one was educated enough to understand how they should be treating a rape victim. I find it admiring that despite being the one who was harassed & despite being mentally shattered, Noori still held her ground & kept herself composed because she was well aware of the fact that she has a long battle ahead of her to fight, that too on her own. Just when Noori’s father started telling SHO Ayaaz to behave himself, I assumed that this will push him to take a stand for his daughter but he chose to turn himself into a bigger victim, even though he has a lot of reasons to react that way but it definitely would’ve been such a refreshing change to see a father standing up for his daughter at least once. Noori’s father knew that he won’t be able to fight Rab Nawaz Shah, nor he will be able to deal with the policemen who will keep on pestering & harassing him, that is why he decided to give in, not that he was thinking of supporting his daughter in the first place, but just a single threat from the police officer was enough for him to surrender.

Everything that they have shown through Noori’s track is a real depiction of bitter reality because this is exactly how rape victims are mistreated, where no one understands them or their pain & tries to silence them even if they want to stand up for themselves. The only ray of light in Noori’s life was her young supporter Bilal, it warmed my heart how he was trying to make Noori feel better, like even though he is quite young but he still had more courtesy than their parents combined. I think it was quite brave of Noori to decide to leave her house because she knew that if she’d stay with her family, they will continue to weaken her motive of getting Jahangir Rab Nawaz punished. The visit from her in-laws was another push that she got which drove her to take such a huge step, but definitely in the right direction. I so wish Noori had taken Bilal with her because to see his forlorn face when he couldn’t find his sister broke my heart.

It was quite interesting how in the beginning of the episode, Rab Nawaz spoke about sentencing rape victims to death, only time will tell if he will stay true to his word or not, which obviously we all know the answer of. Rab Nawaz has already brushed his son’s crime & sin under the carpet, so now he will do everything to keep it that way. I liked how Rab Nawaz & Daniyal were introduced to each other. Rab Nawaz in his wildest dreams wouldn’t have thought that Daniyal would be the one who’ll bring him down. Anyways, Noori by chance met the activist who works really hard for women’s rights & now she will be the one who will take Noori to Daniyal.

The entire focus on Gaiti’s conversation with Asfand & then her birthday was quite nice, like it definitely made things easy after seeing such dire situation of Noori. Daniyal is a loving husband & Gaiti is just as much of a loving wife to him. I like how Gaiti always tries to cover up for her husband, it’s like she has accepted him with all of his weaknesses & strengths, that is why she stays unaffected with such small matters because she understands & respects the fact that Daniyal is so focused when it comes to his work.

So, nothing much happened in Zubiya’s track but yes, it was good that she got the support of her friends to participate in the play. I liked how Zubiya all of a sudden felt this rush of confidence when she got a round of applause for her perfect performance. However, I am not too sure what the guy was doing in an all-girls’ college during an all-girl’s stage play? Like usually when it comes to these colleges, guys are not allowed to attend these sort of plays, so his placement in this situation did seem a little forced but looks like they didn’t have any other choice to use this scenario to open up a new chapter in Zubiya’s life. I think it was good that they showed how Zubiya was moving on in her life, she obviously misses her mother every step of the way but she has also come to terms with her mother’s death, that is why she was seen discussing it with her friends normally.

Mahjabeen was still seen crying over the demise of her sister & the sad life that she lived. I liked how the writer shed a light on the fact that wealth doesn’t guarantee happiness, like Mahjabeen’s mother married her daughter off to a wealthy man thinking she will lead a happy & peaceful life but that same man turned out to be the reason behind her death. One more time they drew our attention to Khalil’s insecure personality. It was quite amusing how Khalil was judging Sheema’s younger sister because she was now getting married to the guy she was in love with & this too came after they showed how a guy was now trying to get Zubiya’s attention. Khalil will definitely end up getting a good reality check because even he has a daughter but is too thick-headed to even assume that he can be faced with the similar kind of situation in his life too.

Overall, this episode was quite interesting. The preview of the next episode looked promising & I am definitely looking forward to Daniyal & Noori’s first meeting. I am not sure if this is a mistake on their part or this is how the story has been laid out in the novel, because when I look at Rab Nawaz Village & its residents, I always get a feeling that it’s a small village in the province of Sindh & then Daniyal resides in Islamabad, so somehow I am not sure if they paid attention to this detail or not. If they’ll show that the women activist (ZQ) brought Noori all the way to Islamabad to meet Daniyal, then it would make sense but if they are suggesting that Rab Nawaz Village is located in the outskirts of Islamabad then it doesn’t make much sense because they have given it a completely different feel which doesn’t do justice to the geographical location. Also, Rab Nawaz & Daniyal attended this function together, so I think it has been suggested that they both reside in the same territory, just different areas, so I do have a feeling this was a little mistake on the director’s part. I think if they had shown that Daniyal was situated in Karachi & that Rab Nawaz Village was located in inner-Sindh, it would’ve made far more sense because it is a done deal that no villages near Islamabad have people who speak like Noori’s family does or wear Chunari dresses or Ajraks like they have shown in this drama because if not Chunari, Ajrak definitely is exclusive to the province of Sindh. I think they should’ve shown that Asfand went to Islamabad to pursue his education whereas his family was settled in Karachi. This was just a little thought that crossed my mind when I watched this episode, but other than that I don’t have any issues with the way the drama has been directed & how the story is unfolding. All the actors have done a brilliant job, especially the actors playing Noori’s parents & younger brother. Suhaee has done a good job too as a victim who is strong enough to face her fears. Hira Mani does well in the scenes that are allotted to her & so does everyone else. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar.

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 03 Review – Realistic Portrayal of Reality!

Ohkay so, this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar was detailed & slow but in a good way. I like the fact that the director is taking things slow by giving us an in-depth view into every situation while still making a lot of progress. While watching this episode, my eyes stayed glued to the screen because of the phenomenal performances with which all the actors have brought life to their characters & I must say, the writer & the director should take a bow for such a convincing portrayal of harsh realities.

So, Noori despite being told not to, decided to unveil the culprit & unfortunately for her, he happens to be the son of local politician who obviously has power, authority & resources. In that entire scene, what I loved the most was the little supporter that Noori had. It was heart-warming to see that where this sort of courage & support should’ve come to Noori by her parents, especially her mother, her younger brother had faith in Noori & he was ready to fight for her. I must say the child artist added so much of warmth & honesty in that scene which was filled with negativity that was being spread by the policemen. They surely shed a light on the fact how insensitive policemen can get with the rape victims where in stead of inquiring about what the girl went through, they become self-proclaimed judges who deem it as their moral right to point fingers at a girl’s character because in their ‘mardana’ mind, a man can never be wrong & if a girl gets violated physically, it is only because she had a loose character!

Zubiya was finding it hard to pick up the pieces after her mother has left. I loved how they showcased that in the absence of a mother, how the home becomes a house where there was no one to welcome Zubiya or place food in front of her. I loved those little shots where they showed how Zubiya had to fetch her lunch herself & sat there in seclusion only with her mother’s memories.

Sheema in my opinion got a lot of coverage in this episode & I hope in the coming episodes, we don’t get to see her much because honestly speaking, there’s nothing new or different to her that I would want to see. Sheema took a day to turn into a typical bhabhi who obviously is showing her true colors because she is not happy with the current situation. Sheema is not only ungrateful but she is someone who doesn’t know what it is like to be content in life. She has everything going for her, she has a husband, a son, a luxurious lifestyle but just because she has a father in law who is authoritative & treats her husband like an employee at work, she is unhappy. The way Rehan smiled at her was something sweet like at least he understands his wife’s perspective & has a laid back attitude when it comes to her because he knows her complaints are never ending. To be honest, I don’t mind Sheema’s character & attitude, but yes, I will when she will start creating problems for Zubiya. With Sheema being so dominating & controlling, I am not sure how long Rehan will be able to keep up with his support & sympathy that he feels for Zubiya because Sheema is constantly trying to draw his attention away from his little sister. Rehan is quite submissive, which is not a bad thing but in general, he is failing to draw a line & maintaining a balance which definitely will affect Zubiya in the future.

At least Rehan showed that he was considerate towards Zubiya’s feelings when he told her that she should’ve asked for her college fee from her & not Khalil but then again, Zubiya was forced to remind him that he wasn’t there when she was looking forward to talk to him. I must say, even though this character is quite annoying, I enjoy watching Khalil’s scenes, like I find myself laughing during his scenes because Ehtashamuddin has portrayed this character so realistically. I must say, Khalil has quite a lot of nakhras when it comes to food & even though he may not say it, his wife took good care of him because of which he has developed such taste buds & now when she is no more, even he is finding it hard to adjust to new people taking care of his basic needs. I liked the exchange of words that happened between Sheema & Khalil, like he is well aware of everything that happens under his roof & not only that, he is well aware of everyone’s nature, that is why he knew that Sheema had her sights on her mother in law’s gold, which he made sure to get it back from her possession!

Well, Jahangir’s mother thinks he is a bacha & he was seeking maafi for his ghalti. LOL! Kya bacha hai aur kya ghalti hai aur kya uski maafi thi. To be honest, they have perfectly highlighted how power & authority can turn human beings into animals, that is why even Jahangir’s father Rab Nawaz wasn’t ashamed of what his son did, but in stead he was worried that this might cost him his seat in upcoming elections as the opposition party was looking for reasons to bring him down. I must say I enjoyed his speech at Women’s Day Conference because through him, the drama makers showed the real face of the politicians who only tell lies when they speak to the general public & use heavy words like izzat, tahaffuz, muzahmat which are meaningless to them because when it comes to their own family members, they have completely different set of rules. Rab Nawaz didn’t even breathe in between his speech since he was so focused on convincing women that he was in the favor of their support while easily concealing the truth that he was hiding a rapist in his own home. I found it quite interesting that even Daniyal was present at that conference because I am sure Daniyal is going to be the one who will bring Rab Nawaz & his son Jahangir down. Even though it was for a brief moment, but I liked how they introduced Daniyal’s character as a lawyer who believes in his principles & doesn’t believe in budging for anyone. I am sure Daniyal will bring Noori the justice that she deserves & I am definitely looking forward to that journey.

I had a good time watching this episode, even though the scenarios are grave & the theme of the drama is based on social issues but the director has tried to keep it as less intense as possible, while still maintaining the essence of the story. There is so much that is going to happen in the future episodes & I am already excited to see that because the foundations have been laid in such a convincing manner. I must say, all the actors have done a brilliant job, especially Ehtashamuddin, Sajal Ali & also the girl playing the role of Sheema (help me with her real name please). However, I felt that Shaz Khan was having issues in delivering Urdu dialogues that required a lot of continuity as he clearly seemed uncomfortable & the timing was off too. I hope in the future episodes, Shaz Khan is able to do justice to Daniyal’s character since he has an important role in the story. The direction & the production values are great. I can’t wait to see more. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar.

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 02 Review – Phenomenal Performances!

Ohkay so, what an episode it was, packed with such phenomenal performances. While watching this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar, I don’t think I looked away from the TV screen even for a second, because the director & all the actors gave their 100% & created magic on screen. Yes, the theme of the drama is based on social issues but it is good to see our drama-makers exploring that dimension & bringing such stories which give something to the viewers to take with them when the episode ends. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this episode & a few actors surely made it a treat to watch.

So, Zubiya confessed to her Aunt Mehjabeen that it was her father Khalil who killed his wife. They gave us a detailed insight into Khalil’s mentality as this time around where it was made clear that he was not only in denial but tried using fate & destiny as a shield to cover his crime. Even Khalil knew that he committed a mistake & he was responsible for the death of his wife but he chose to erect a wall so strong that no one could imagine trespassing. The way Khalil told his his children to not utter a word against him showed his insecurities & shed a light on the fact that even he knew he was guilty of murdering his wife, otherwise a rigid man like him wouldn’t have showed his weak side to his family & wouldn’t have cared but he did. Zubiya considered herself responsible for her mother’s death because she was the one who tagged her mother along & that riled her father up, that is why she had to vent out. Somehow, I felt it was good that Mehjabeen was by Zubiya’s side, even though she couldn’t do much for Zubiya but at least, she put her aching heart to ease & comforted her which she needed the most by listening to what she had to say.

The conversation between Mehjabeen & Khalil was so intense because it brought out the weak side of Khalil once again the moment he heard that Mehjabeen found out the truth behind her sister’s death. It was interesting to see that at first, Khalil tried to cover up saying that his wife died because she was bound to die that day & it was Allah’s Decree, but later when he saw that Mehjabeen wasn’t buying what he said & still held him responsible, he tried to malign his wife’s character & badmouthed her thinking it will work. Khalil knew that the family secret wasn’t safe anymore & despite saying that he wasn’t afraid of the police, he showed all the signs that suggested that even he was scared of facing the brunt for what he has done. It was also interesting that even after committing such a huge crime & a sin, he was still relying on his limited knowledge of the religion to clear his image. Khalil believed that he hit his wife because he was trying to correct & discipline her, so if she died while that was happening, it wasn’t his fault!

Obviously, Mehjabeen had to leave & she apologized to Zubiya for being so helpless & powerless to do anything to help her situation but she did leave after making Khalil realize that he will face the consequences. Khalil was rattled & it was only because of the conversation he had with Mehjabeen, otherwise the way he got back to his normal life where he was more concerned about parathas being khasta, if it wasn’t for her, he wouldn’t have paid attention to what he has done. I think Zubiya will be left alone now because seeing how Rehna was being manipulated by Sheema showed that he won’t be able to do much. Rehan only has emotions to offer but Sheema was the one who showed him the practical side of the picture. Even though what Sheema said showcased her selfishness but somehow I didn’t find her wrong because before anything else, she is a mother who only wants comfort for her child & just because she is practical enough, she is well aware of the fact that her husband is financially dependent on her father in law. I think in the later stages when Zubiya will probably take the matter in her hands if she will ever decided to get her father punished, Rehan will be the first obstacle that will come in her way because he almost seemed convinced to stay quiet after getting a lecture from his wife!

So, we got to know a little more about Faryal & looks like Asfand was taken aback by her behavior. Faryal is not only spoiled but is quite impulsive & immature, which obviously put Asfand off a little when he saw this side of her nature. I think after this incident, Asfand will be forced to do some thinking. Daniyal & Gaiti were enjoying their marital bliss which has started off on a very positive note. It was nice to see Gaiti being so understanding of her husband’s nature of work & more than that, the respect that she has for what Daniyal does. Usman got a little introduction too & it was explained how well-reputed he was in the field of law. I am interested to see what role Usman & then Daniyal will play as lawyers in the future episodes!

Even though Noori didn’t get much coverage but the preview of the next episode suggested that she is not going to sit quietly & she will make sure to see her offender paying for his crime. Just like Rehan will try to stop Zubiya, in this case, it will be Noori’s parents who will tell her to stay silent. Even though Noori’s father was shocked to learn the truth but I am interested to see what role he will play in helping his daughter recover from the mental trauma that she has been through. I really hope out of all the people, Noori’s father supports her because she’ll be needing him the most at this stage. I believe Noori will emerge as a fighter & she will fight her own battle against those who offended her in the worst way possible.

Overall, this episode was power-packed & was directed brilliantly. I must say, for me the actors that took the crown in this episode were Ehtashamuddin, Huma Nawab & Sajal Ali. Oh boy! I was spellbound while watching their performances. It takes a lot to portray such characters & elaborate their emotions in such a phenomenal & convincing manner & all these actors definitely delivered. Ehtashamuddin has owned the character of Khalil & has given him such a face that he will be remembered for a long long time. Just 2 episodes in & I am sure all the viewers who have tuned to this drama will be feeling a lot of hatred for Khalil’s character, which is Ehtashamuddin’s success as an actor. Huma Nawab supported extremely well too, like she made it so evident that Mehjabeen’s heart was breaking after learning the truth about her sister but she also knew her limitations & despite wanting to, she knew she was helpless & she won’t be able to do much. Sajal Ali really has polished her skills when it comes to such portrayals, like she really knows how to convey the emotions. She made it so realistic that Zubiya was not only shattered or guilty, but she was scared to see her father being the one who killed her mother. This episode was like a roller-coaster ride of emotions & once again Usman’s family & all those characters were used to make things less heavy & less intense, which was a good change. I can’t wait to see more. Please share your thoughts about this phenomenal episode of Yakeen Ka Safar!

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 01 Review – A Very Strong Start!

Ohkay so, based on a Farhat Ishtiyaq novel ‘Wo Yakeen Ka Naya Safar’, Yakeen Ka Safar is produced by Momina Duraid Productions & is directed by Shehzad Kashmiri & from now on it will be airing on Wednesdays on Hum TV. The first episode gave us a glimpse into all the characters & their stories & they gave us just enough to understand all of the characters & their struggles. I must say, the very first episode was directed perfectly because it gave equal coverage to so many characters, it shows the clarity & the vision that the director had while directing this drama. The very first episode introduced us the story & character in such a manner that I am already looking forward to the next episode. I am sure it is going to be a ride & with the first episode being just so perfect, my hopes have skyrocketed already.

So, the first episodes showed us three scenarios in three different locations, where in 2 of those scenarios, they shed a light on the physical & emotional abuse that women were being subjected to. In Rab Nawaz Village, a school teacher named Noori (Suhai) was abducted & sadly, in stead of looking for her, her father blamed her for being too ambitious for wanting to educate the children of her village. In Karachi, they showed Zubiya (Sajal Ali) & her family mourning the loss of her mother (Fazila Qazi) & lastly, in Islamabad, they showed us a light-hearted scenario where two maternal cousins Daniyal (Shaz Khan) & Gaiti (Hira Mani) were getting married & their families were making the most of this happy occasion.

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 01 Review - A Very Strong Start!

So, Daniyal & Gaiti got engaged 6 years ago but the very same day Daniyal left for London to pursue his education. He has returned as a lawyer & he acknowledges & appreciates the fact that Gaiti stood by him & gave him enough time just when he was getting pressurized by his mother to come back & get married. Even though they didn’t show much about Gaiti but I loved how subtle her character seemed at this stage because of which I felt I wanted to know more about her. Daniyal’s father Usman (Farhan Ali Agha) & Gaiti’s mother Durdana are siblings, that is why both the families seemed pretty happy with this family affair. It seems that Daniyal’s younger brother Asfand & Gaiti’s younger sister are engaged to be married as well but Asfand is not mature or settled enough to take the responsibility of a marriage at this stage. I liked the way they showed that both the brothers Daniyal & Asfand share a very strong bond, where Daniyal is protective of his younger brother & Asfand looks up to him.

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 01 Review - A Very Strong Start!

In Rab Nawaz Village, even though the first impression that I got of Noori’s father was disturbing but seeing him shedding tears did make me feel for him. However, I felt that the helplessness that he was feeling was self-imposed because he just didn’t want to help himself & gave up because he wasn’t ready to face the world & take a stand for his daughter as deep down even he felt that she was at fault & she herself invited the trouble she was facing. Very subtly yet clearly they shed a light on how men in these type of settings deem education as a burden & don’t have the courage to stand up for their daughters due to their false pride that they cling onto as they are afraid of facing the world because of their own fears.

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 01 Review - A Very Strong Start!

Zubiya lost her mother & it was her Khala Mehjabeen (Huma Nawab) that tried to console her as she could see that losing her mother took a toll on Zubiya. Very briefly they introduced us to the dysfunctional relationship that Zubiya’s father Khalil (Ehtashamuddin) & her mother shared. It looked like Khalil always subjected his wife to mental torture because of his conservativeness & didn’t give her enough freedom to even stay in touch with her family. Zubiya has an elder brother Rehan who is married to Sheema & they both have a son Haram.

Even though the promo of the next episode gave away everything but the moment I saw the uneasiness on Khalil & Zubiya’s faces when they both faced each other, it did make me feel that Khalil was uncomfortable about something & was trying to cover it up as if even he knew he was guilty of something. The way he put Mehjabeen down & reminded her of where she comes from spoke volumes about his personality. It is sad to see that Khalil is shown as a rigid religious man who only believes in performing the rituals but doesn’t actually understand the essence of the religion that he follows. Mehjabeen’s concern for her younger sister was heart-warming, like even though she knew that her sister suffered because of Khalil but she couldn’t say much, however she did find it odd that all of a sudden her sister passed away & her family was unable to give her a clear cut answer to what exactly happened to her.

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 01 Review - A Very Strong Start!

The direction, camera work, editing, equal coverage of all the scenarios & characters made the first episode a treat to watch. All the actors performed phenomenally but for me, Sajal Ali stole the show, I actually felt for her a lot when she cried as she was missing her mother. Even though Fazila Qazi’s character got a very little coverage but it was enough to show how special of a bond she shared with her daughter & how important she was in her life. Where Khalil was a rigid, emotionally detached & conservative father, his wife made sure to shower her daughter with all the love to keep her distracted from something that was terribly wrong in her life. I can already see how all these stories will be linked in the future episodes & I can not wait to see the story unfold.

I must say Hira Mani looked absolutely beautiful. Shaz Khan fitted his role perfectly. Asfand & his fiancée got a little too much coverage for my liking but it seemed justified for now as obviously they had to keep things a bit light hearted considering this was the first episode. However, I did pick a little mistake, because in the beginning they made it clear that Daniyal’s parents were Gaiti’s Mamu Mami, whereas Asfand’s fiancée while speaking about his parents said Chacha Chachi chalay gaye or something like that. I feel especially in the first episode where everyone is figuring out who is related to whom, the director should’ve paid a bit more attention as these sort of mistakes can create a lot of misunderstand & confusion. Anyways, I must say I am impressed with the hard-work that was put in this episode & even though there was so much happening in this episode where they kept on switching between completely different situations, I didn’t find the editing choppy or the sequence haphazard. I will thank the director for giving us a very strong first episode of this drama. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar.

PS: Dear readers, please excuse me for a short review, as this is the best I could do considering how unwell I am. I will get back on track starting from next week & will give you guys the sort of a review this drama deserves. Also, since this drama is based on the novel, I am sure a lot of readers here must’ve read it, so I think I do have to impose the no spoiler alert policy once again because it just kills the charm of the drama for viewers like me who haven’t read the novel. I have seen that some readers deliberately discuss the novel, promos, OST’s & upcoming bits as the curiosity gets the better of them but I hope they will respect the no spoiler alert policy because I & I am sure quite lot of other viewers have not read the novel as well. Also, I haven’t watched any promos or even the OST as I know they can give away the entire story so I hope that will be respected too. Let’s just keep the discussions strictly about the episode that will be airing without making it all about the future happenings & please bear in mind that novel reading & drama watching are two completely different things. Last but definitely not the least, if I will spot anyone discussing future happenings of a drama based on what they have read in the novel, I will delete those comments because that’s the only option that I’ll be left with. Let’s enjoy this ride together & remember we are not reading the novel together, we’re watching a drama here. ;)

Yaariyan Episode 1 to 11 – An Overview

I haven’t tuned into a drama starring Ayeza Khan after Tau Dil Ka Kya Hua therefore I decided to give this one a go after getting a few requests from facebook users to review it. The production house’s obsession with ‘khoobsurti’ (goray log) stands out more than anything else throughout apart from Ayeza Khan’s attempt to look really casual in a made-up look (talk about taking contradiction to a whole new level!). It is actually sad watching Ayeza Khan focus on her looks so much especially because she doesn’t need it. Momal Sheikh’s lack of talent reflects from every single scene and Muneeb Butt’s attempts to flaunt his well-built body makes him the perfect candidate for the next YNH film!

Coming to the story, it is has been-there-seen-that (a million times) written all over it. Yaariyan is Guzarish, Maat, Woh Mera Dil Tha, Ghar Titli Ka Par and Ishq Tamasha mixed in one. The writer has taken inspiration from all these dramas yet Yaariyan doesn’t even pass as a guilty pleasure, something you would watch for fun, because the characters are black and white to a boring extent and most of the performances are as fake as they get. If you want to watch goray chitay log (courtesy a very light foundation) suffering while looking their best then do tune into this show, otherwise don’t!

I have been dying to vent out therefore I am going to share my thoughts about each character in this review/rant. This drama has few of the most shallow characters translated on screen in an even more one-dimensional manner by the actors involved.

Sadia (Momal Sheikh)

Bechargi ki tasweer

Sadia is the ‘perfect’ (perfectly annoying) sister and daughter, she is pious to the core but she gets stuck in a situation in which her character/morality is questioned (Meri Zaat Zara-e-Benishan?) and as a result her life takes a turn for the worse. Sadia’s over exaggerated becharapan coupled with absolutely no real personality and Momal Sheikh’s performance which literally gets on your nerves made it impossible for me to feel for her.

Zobia (Ayeza Khan)

Meesni no. 1

Zobia’s character makes little sense, she is manipulative, selfish and spoiled but most of the times whatever she does isn’t backed by a lot of logic. She is negative and spoiled and that’s it! Ayeza Khan’s over-reliance on make-up and styling makes this character look more fake than it needed to. Ayeza’s dressing is really casual, sometimes the three pieces of the outfit don’t even match but the overloaded foundation is never out of place. It is almost as if the leading ladies weren’t allowed to tie their hair under any circumstances.

Umair (Muneeb Butt)

Ahmed from Kesa Yeh Naseeban all over again

Umair is another character which lies on the extreme. There is nothing likable about this character and Muneeb Butt’s performance is a bit over the top most of the time. It is like watching him play the same character he played in Kesa Yeh Naseeban – he tries to be a good son but is a horrible husband.

Yaariyan Episode 1 to 11 - An Overview

Ahmer (Junaid Khan)

Mehrab and Moonis all over again

Junaid Khan yet again plays the bechara even though he is the one who made a wrong decision. He reminds me of Mehrab, who stayed a bechara right till the end even though he did so much that was wrong. Ahmer also reminds me of Moonis from Khasara because of the way Junaid Khan has carried this character throughout.

Hamid Baig (Mehmood Aslam)

Gaiti’s dad is back

Mehmood Aslam has been typecast in this drama because he is yet again playing the same character he played in Do Bol. He is the unreasonable father who forces his daughter to get married to the man she was ‘caught with’. Yes! Believe it or not, it is the same scenario all over again which has been originally lifted from the play Woh Mera Dil Tha. Forced nikkah’s caused by misunderstandings seem to be the latest trend in our dramas.

Aliya (Hina Bayat)

Only good thing about this drama

Aliya’s character is in this drama is the only good thing about it. Although Aliya is too good to be true at times but Hina Bayat has managed to add grace to this character even with those high heels and made-up look.

Zeenat (Shagufta Ijaz)

The helpless mother

Zeenat is the helpless mother without whom all those tragedies which occurred in this drama wouldn’t have happened. Shagufta Ijaz is an amazing actress, she can make even the most average of characters look good on screen therefore her performance is the only reason why her character is not the worst one in the play. Also, the fact that Zeenat knows her daughters well and gives everything a second thought makes her character relatively more nuanced.

Final Remarks

Yaariyan is one of those many dramas which are made with all the ‘commercial elements’ in mind. The writer took plenty of inspiration from dramas which were popular in the recent past which makes the story highly predictable. The fact that many of the actors in this drama are typecast goes to show the narrow vision of the director. The over emphasis on everyone’s looks is another off-putting factor apart from the average performances which are anything but effortless. The performances on the contrary look well rehearsed and staged. The overuse of the OST just adds to the torture.

A special request to all the writers, please stop showing this forced nikkah scenario. Ever since Woh Mera Dil Tha aired, it seems like parents forcing their children into jhat pat nikkah seems to be a  favorite of all those writers who love replicating original ideas!

Yaaram – Novel Review

0

The  name of the novel ‘Yaraam’ by Sumaira Hameed, means a beloved or a lover. When you first encounter such name it gives a feeling of a typical ,mourning and tragic love story with bits of conspiracies and a lot of disappointment ,But I object  it is not just a love story with all these aspects but contains a lot more gems of wisdom put together in a beautiful, engaging ,and exciting events. It triggers almost a wide range of emotions and enforces our brain to think  and ponder over the situation and feel in depth for every character. You laugh with them, enjoy their silly jokes, pranks and feel very light. In literature, the most common elements of romanticism are moon, night and stars .On contrary, Sumaira Hameed takes a different way and starts a novel with an imagery  of ‘Sarma ki Dhoop’

‘’Amar Prem ka agr koi lad ka naam hota tou wo sarma ki dhoop hota’’

This Imagery takes us to the introduction of our heroine’ Amraha’ before diving in the characters of this novel let’s just introduce you with the main theme of this novel.

MAIN THEME

Although highly condensed with love story, it unfolds in a very interesting way. It is a journey of change and transformation for some characters and their influential past which molded them into their present form. Amraha applies for the University of Manchester as she wants to get rid of the environment she was brought up and was tagged as ‘Manhoos’ and was accepted by an emotional and more appropriately self-pitying mail of her .The fun and interesting part begins when the description of the University and its environment is sketched. It is here when different people get to know one other and learn what life is! The Manchester University Motto is very interesting‘’There is no time to cry and just smile’’. In my opinion, the main theme of the novel is harkat main barkat,  to overcome fear, be confident, learn from your past; take hold of your life, ignore foolish myths and unnecessary objections and be strong. Life is about facing the harsh realities of life, surviving through them and being thankful for what we have. I must appreciate the efforts of the writer in bringing all these lessons into light through a love story.

VARIETY OF CHARACTERS

Apart from Amraha, every main character in this novel is influential in one way or the other. There is depth in every character and everyone has a story, which unfolds to describe the beauty of their character and the source of their strength. Why Amraha wasn’t much influential in the beginning , the reason behind it was that, this character was shown to learn that it’s not only her there are many people who lose so much in life but still are trying to live happily.

Amraha: The perfect example of a roti dhoti, sensitive and weak heroine. I felt for her at the beginning because of the stupid and irrational myths that degraded her personality and destroyed her self-esteem. She is a submissive personality, but her grandfather supported her and tried to restore her self-esteem. The writer grasped the attention here by adding these lines ” for every person there will be someone who will love them even if the whole world hates him/her’’.

Her grandfather was the support system for her and she manages to get admitted in the University of Manchester. She enters a whole new world and learns a lot. It is hilarious, enjoyable and adventurous and I believe Manchester World is fun. By the end of the encounter and love part of the novel, She couldn’t accept the proposal because there was a big’’ because ‘’and at that time it seemed that Amraha is so selfish, harsh, brutal and self-absorbed girl. I think Amraha was way too rude even when the writer made us understand why it was the way it was, Still it was harsh. I want you to read it and figure it out.

Aliyan: The hero of this novel and already a heart-throb of the University  is a handsome, attractive and wise personality. He has a disturbing past and that was the reason he didn’t like Asians. He behaves nicely with Amraha and fall for her when he and his friends planned a bomb blast prank .After the confession Aliyan doesn’t remain the same person and his friend Carl (The Manhoos Mara) tries to bring him back. Aliyan is intelligent and smart and he beautifully described about the colours of flowers and the pre-conceived notions about them.

Carl ( The Manhoos Mara) : Why Carl is manhoos Mara, this is epecially shown by his naughty , hilarious and scary pranks, he is  such a treat to read. Always up to something scary and adventurous, a bit too scary but is a breath of fresh .He is Aliyan’s friend which actually is hard to believe because they shared a unique chemistry. The pranks were hilarious and I enjoyed it a lot.

Veera: A girl from Russia, She is energetic, bold, adventurous, strong and beautiful. She is a nice character and I was impressed by her take on Amraha that she was selfish and did wrong with Aliyan, this depicted her smartness. I enjoyed her strong character, especially when she challenges or accepts the challenges of ‘’ the manhoos mara’’. At one point, I felt for her but she moved on because this was the essence of her personality.

Sai : This is another unique character and is trustworthy. He has a habit of wearing a sign board named ‘’Talk to me’’ if I am not mistaken. The purpose is to listen to people’s stories, their fears, their dreams, and relationships and this behaviour was in response to his past. When Nobody listened to him, he felt devastated so he started this weird activity to console others.

There was an interesting activity called ‘’Tweet’’. Tweet was kind of a debt treat, you ask from someone as ‘’Tweet Me’’ and he would give you something to eat and whenever he would ask for ‘’ Tweet Me back’’ you had to pay it back. The exam-phobia was such a delight to read and is very funny.

WEAK ASPECT: The negative or weak aspect of the novel is after the separation and a bit  re-union part it becomes a bit slow as the writer was giving time to every emotion to be explained  with unnecessary details that I had to skip a few pages and reach the end.

A good novel to read and invest time on, it was enjoyable and lesson-oriented but is only for one time reading, you can’t read it over and over again.

Leaving you with this lesson

‘’There are never any winners or any losers, participation is. Remember that and enjoy the challenge of each moment so it arises now’’.

Yaar e Bewafa Last Episode Review – Sweet!

Ohkay so, Yaar e Bewafa came to an end & if I look back at the entire journey, the best description that comes to my mind for it is ‘sweet & simple’.

Yaar e Bewafa had such a story which didn’t promise fireworks or too much drama & even though it was predictable right from the beginning, the simple execution made the viewers look forward to the upcoming episodes because everyone could relate to the characters & felt a lot for them when they were struggling. What I liked the most about this writing was that the writer didn’t make the characters completely black & white & every single time he justified & explained why they would behave a certain way.

So, Zaid made it very clear to Fizza that she could not make him happy like she used to & she lost the place in his heart. Fizza tried really hard to earn her position back but Zaid told her clearly that his heart belonged to Amna & not Fizza. Amna introduced Zaid to a new meaning of love because in Zaid Fizza relationship, Zaid was the selfless one so he never really knew what it was like to be loved selflessly which Amna introduced him to, that is why he understood that she was the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

Amna decided to go abroad because she earned herself a job there but thankfully before she could leave, Fizza realized that she had to make amends & she had to accept the reality that Zaid was happy with Amna, therefore she had to bring her back in his life.

The note at which the episode ended was quite sweet because Ahmed also found his father’s love & got to be with him as before he was the one who suffered due to Fizza’s irrational decision. It was good to see that all of them found a way towards their happiness & things worked out for everyone.

Overall, it was a very good drama totally fit for binge watching because I am sure if watched that way,  the slow pace of the drama wouldn’t be noticeable, which we felt while watching it on a weekly basis. The story was simple & straight forward. The way the director executed everything was brilliant. Yaar e Bewafa showed that simple stories can still work if they are executed properly. Imran Abbas & Sarah Khan were the stars of the show & Arij Fatyma acted brilliantly as well. I must commend the writer for making us fond of the characters of Zaid & Amna. Imran Abbas & Sarah Khan deserve a special mention for such a perfect chemistry & yes, the writer deserves a special mention for showing us a healthy marital relationship, which indeed was not only sweet but quite refreshing as well. Please share your thoughts about the final episode & the entire journey of Yaar e Bewafa.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.
