Meray Pass Tum Ho is currently one of the most trending dramas on television. In fact, this one drama has become one of the highest rating earners on any channel for a long time. The audience have started not only relating well to the characters of Meray Pass Tum Ho, they actually feel for Danish, hating Mehwish and Shahwar for whatever they have done to him.

The political tension post the URI attack has widened the cultural and artistic gap between Pakistan and India. Mahesh Bhatt who has been supporting Pakistan, despite of the rising tensions, approached few Pakistani singers for a song which is to be featured in a cross-border peace play!

According to a report from DNA, Mahesh Bhatt is all set to bring back Pakistani artistes to India. Last week Bhatt made a call to singer-actor Ali Zafar in Karachi offering him a song on the theme of cross-border peace. Ali responded favourably. So did Shafqat Amanat Ali who has agreed to contribute a song to Mahesh Bhatt’s endeavour free of cost.

Delhi-based actor Imran Zahid who will be working with Mahesh Bhatt on this project says, “Every Pakistani artiste Bhatt saab has approached has responded enthusiastically. Shafqat Amanat Ali’s manager said he doesn’t want any money for this song. We are also working on getting Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam on board.”

But what about the unofficial ban on Pakistani artistes in India? Says Imran, “We are going to use the voices of the Pakistani artistes, for a play called Milne Do which will be staged in Delhi on June 8 and Mumbai on June 23. Furthermore the Indian government has clarified that it has not banned Pakistani artistes. When the Government has taken a clear stand on the issue, what chance do the protesters stand?”

The drama Khuda Aur Mohabbat is the third season of Pakistani spiritual-romance series Khuda Aur Mohabbat which went immensely popular among audience. The drama is produced by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi under 7th Sky Entertainment productions, it features Feroze Khan and Iqra Aziz in lead roles. The drama revolves around the emotional stories of Farhad and Mahi who hail from completely different backgrounds. Mahi, who comes from an influential family, while Farhad came from a very mediocre set up, both fallen in love but could not meet.

The emotional love saga is coming to the end but it is anticipated that the drama’s last episode will not air tomorrow on Geo television network.

Geo television network has removed the count-down promos from all the social media handles. They had been updating fans about last episode in an excited manner but soon removed all the promos. It is speculated that the drama will not be aired tomorrow because of the T20 World Cup match between Pakistan and Afghanistan on Friday.

The promo of last episode has also not been updated by the channel. The last promo was posted 6 days ago after airing of second last episode.

Drama serial Meray Paas Tum Ho has broken all records when it comes to any television play getting the most ratings ever. “Pray  that this time I do a happy ending. I was in airport yesterday where a group of girls stopped me and said Khalil sir, we heard you are killing the character of Danish, please do not kill him! I said, Fear God what are you talking about, this is only a story, and you should treat it like a story! However it seemed like they will start crying if I say Danish will die,” stated KRQ.

“This time, I want my record to break. I hope no character dies. However, I can confirm this, when I last said that Danish will be murdered, I was only messing with you people! There will be no murder, Danish will live. I have written a very soft play this time so if God wills things will go as you want them to go,” said the writer further giving the audience some hopes of having a happy ending for Danish.

However, on an ending note, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar did add that the viewers should keep their medications by their side because whatever happened wouldn’t be his responsibility, igniting the curiosity of the audience once again.

Rajab Butt is a renowned Pakistani YouTuber with more than 8 million YouTube subscribers. The YouTuber was facing legal charges in Pakistan after which he was hiding in the UK. She said that one has to live in this age with a certain attitude by developing thick skin and by putting blinders on, otherwise the society is mean, the perfect example of the mean society is their comments for others especially actors.

Annosheh Rania Khan is a new name in the industry. The young starlet has been impressing people left and right with her roles in dramas like Badnaseeb, Aik Hai Nigar and Hum Tum. She is playing the youngest daughter of the Qutub household in Hum Tum.

Pakistani films have had a revival after years of struggle and hard work. The Covid 19 pandemic created quite a hurdle in the smooth process that was going on and everything went to a stand still. Before that for decades, Pakistanis only had Indian films to watch and they have shaped the audience as well as the film makers who always try to include the typical Bollywood masala in their films including the item numbers.

Anmol Baloch is relatively a new entrant in the industry and she is doing quite well with her projects getting high ratings and great views one after another. She starred in Aik Sitam Aur which became a mega hit and then went on to star in Siyani which though had many flaws was at the top of the TRP charts. Anmol was asked if she would be doing an item number as well if she stars in a film and her answer was NO! She said that Pakistani audience is not accepting of item numbers then what is the use of doing something which the audience won’t like. Thus she would not do an item number in her career.

Morning shows in Pakistan do a million things, from promotions to competitions to celebrations to tributes to wedding renditions. One thing that stood out recently was Sanam Jung’s Jago Pakistan Jago yesterday. It was supposedly a pet show, but the animals that graced the sets were far from our usual concepts of the cuddly playful animals that are usually kept as pets.

There were Ayaz Sammo, Benita David and Amir Alvi as guests but the theme of the show was around Adeel, Ibad and Shehzad from Paradise Pets who brought their most unusual pets on the show.

There was a python and a crocodile, which their owners were handling with an amazing ease.

There was also a peacock who was getting quite excited and even jumped on the camera in the first break.

There was also a mix of exotic birds, including the blue green macaw, the African grey parrot and the white parrot.

There were also two very big dry land tortoises who did not come out of the their shells during the duration of the show.

Amir Alvi brought his own pet grey parrot and talked about the cocks and the dogs that he keeps at home. Benita loved his parrot and kept it on her hand for most of the time.

One of the pet owners, Ibad ur Rehman had brought his young son who kept the python around his neck and was very comfortable like that.

Sanam Jung, however was quite uncomfortable during the whole show. First she was not sitting down due to the peacock’s jumping that it was doing on the sets. She was also on guard from parrots that kept roaming on the floor. When the guests tried to get her to hold the python and the crocodile, she made funny excuses like she is not fearful and that she can easily hold but just does not want to. Also that maybe it is motherhood or something but she is not as brave and adventurous as she was before marriage. Her discomfort around the animals was very obvious and frankly, who can blame her. In fact, we want to salute her courage for being able to complete the show she was sharing with such unusual pets.

We are not big on animals here, but surely animal lovers must have found it quite enjoyable and informative.
