In a video message, Mahira along with UNHCR Goodwill Ambassadors has raised the voice for making the future of refugees better. The important message behind this video is if refugees can get a chance they will thrive in the future and can play a positive part in the society.

Mahira  has proudly said, “Pakistan has set an example for the world, where a country has hosted refugees for the last forty years.”

Mahira Khan is not only an actress, she is a phenomenon in herself. The woman is a force to reckon with, having made a name for herself on pure merit and representing Pakistan on major international avenues as a first for the country.

However, there are some people who don’t really bother appreciating the hard work Mahira Khan has put into reaching the position she has today. Instead they try to bring her down any moment they can, not paying heed to the actual message she tries to convey.

Recently, a woman, slut shamed Mahira Khan on her Twitter when Khan posted a status regarding something. Although Mahira Khan usually doesn’t respond to such trolls, this time Khan took it upon herself to not only school the abusive woman for using foul language but she also put her back into her place.

Going absolutely savage, Mahira Khan addressed the troll for her gutter mentality and stating how she could have sent her to school but didn’t want to waste her hard earned money.

And although Mahira refrained from stating anything further, her response has been reshared by a number of celebrities, all of whom have applauded and supported Khan for putting the troll into her place and not being uselessly bullied.

Shaan Shahid, Humaima Malick and Nadia Hussain amongst others came out in support of Khan and dealing with the abusive woman who slut shamed her.

Mahira Khan is a global star, there is absolutely no denying the fact. She has represented Pakistan at various international stage, always depicting an honorable and sophisticated image.

From Bollywood to Cannes, Mahira Khan has been the face of Pakistan with pride.

In England, Khan also made an appearance at BBC Hardtalk while she was promoting Verna overseas prior to its release.

Stephen Sackur talked to Khan regarding a number of issues, especially related to Verna and its subject matter. Since Verna revolved around a rape survivor, Stephen’s question pried Mahira aout the triggers in the film and how aptly the Pakistani society related to it. Questioning Mahira about the disclaimer that she shared before Verna premiered, the anchor, asked Mahira whether the film was made out of anger.

Mahira replied in affirmative stating that she would be speaking on behalf of Shoaib Mansoor too,” Yes. Verna was made out of a lot of anger and frustration. I can say that for the director because he never speaks himself.”

Adding further, Mahira also talked to the host about how she believed she appealed to the masses of the country, being a reflection of the modern Pakistan today.

“I am a single mother, I am a divorcee, I am a reflection of my country. I’m sure I appeal to the classes as well, but I believe I appeal to the masses of my country. How is it possible that I appeal to the masses if I’m so different from them,” said Mahira.

About Raees not releasing in Pakistan, Mahira shared, “I believe if Raees had released on a different time, it wouldn’t have been banned in Pakistan because there are only a handful of people deciding it and sometimes they take decisions on issues that are not directly linked with the film as well.”

Amongst other things Mahira Khan shared about the Ranbir Kapoor controversy as well about how she felt violated. “It was the first time in my career that I was caught up in a controversy. It was strange. I was caught in a downtime moment. But I understand the uproar because people in Pakistan hold me at a pedestal. They love me. It was weird and strange at that time but I was touched by the outpour of love after that,” shared Mahira.

In one of her talk sessions during the Faiz International Festival Mahira Khan said that she’d love to star in an Iranian film.

She further added that there are certain expressions and mannerisms that are unique to each language and when one speaks that language only then an actor can truly portray such characters.

The Verna starlet said,

“I would love to work in a foreign film. That could be hard because of the language but that is the most interesting aspect of it,”

Mahira Khan had managed to stay out of controversy for so many years but this year she was thrown under the bus called “public scrutiny” when shots of her smoking with Indian actor Ranbir Kapoor went viral, speaking of the controversy she said,

‘I have become a big girl now.”

2017 has been tough on Mahira and brought one controversy after another, speaking of the ban on Verna she said,

“It’s life. Stuff happens,”

She further added,

“But it was good Verna was finally released,”

The rumors of Mahira Khan opting for Hollywood made headlines earlier this month and now this, looks like the Raees starlet is planning on working all around the globe.
