Cheekh Episode 18 Story Review – Excellent Episode
Opening Thoughts – Excellent Episode:
Ohkay so, after quite a few weeks, this was one happening, interesting & excellent episode of Cheekh. This episode not only took the story forward but also addressed all those scenarios which needed attention. I do think that the next few episodes will again be slow or calm but I think they should now keep up with the pace.
Fireworks After Weeks:
Mannat made sure to let Wajih know that she won’t let him off the hook if he gets involved with her family. After Shayan, Mannat’s mother is all that she has so her reaction was not only justified, it was much needed. I am glad there is some woman out there who knows how to give it back to Wajih, because the rest of them have been too busy babysitting him to an extent that it has inflated his ego so much. That entire scene where Mannat hits Wajih was well-directed & well-acted.
Shehwar finally succeeded in pushing Yawar to that limit where he ended up admitting that he can not father a child. Shehwar’s approach was definitely not something that Yawar ever expected, that is why he lost his senses as he could never imagine that Shehwar would go to that extreme to find out the truth. Yawar is a weak man, he is someone who can not practice what he preaches. Yawar did try to be the flag-bearer of women’s respect but in personal life, he thinks of them too low to literally walk over them. Yawar thought his unconditional support for Wajih would be enough but seeing Mannat’s determination, even Yawar finds himself shaking at the thought of it. Yawar never expected that Mannat would turn out to be so strong-willed that she will not backtrack, no matter what. Yawar divorced Shehwar & honestly, she is better off without such a weak man who sees woman as such objects to be used as scapegoats. Yawar never really treated Shehwar with respect & that is why he couldn’t confide in her. Shehwar expected trust & honesty from Yawar but it took her years to realize that he didn’t have it in him to offer her these basic but key factors that make the relationship strong. All these years, Yawar saw Shehwar entrapped in those thoughts, he saw that she was emotionally unhappy but still he chose to let her be in that place as far as it didn’t hurt his ego. This is worst than physical violence that Yawar directed at his wife before divorcing her.
Haya has finally come to her senses. Who would’ve known that Haya will finally use her brains to put two & two together. I will say that more than Wajih’s lies, it is Mannat’s persistence that has forced everyone to second guess the lies that Wajih has told. Yawar is also feeling the pressure & now Haya was convinced that Mannat was not making an issue for no reason. Haya closely observed Wajih’s behaviour to finally be able to convince herself that he was guilty of killing Nayab. Even though they did show that Haya was thinking about it from the last few weeks but I still found this change in her a bit sudden. I think to make it more convincing they should have shown that Haya also stumbled upon some evidence that proved Wajih to be the culprit. I however liked the fact that Haya told Shayan that she wants to see Wajih being punished, but she did not mention it in front of Mannat, rather she was focusing on normalizing her relationship with Mannat at the moment!
Ramzan was thrown out of his house & Shariq came back into the picture. It was good to see Ramzan finding an unexpected help from Shariq, however I do feel Shariq should have been present in the court too or may be he wants to stay away from this case for a while. It is good to see that everyone has started to see Wajih for who he is & they will all eventually testify against him. Even though Yawar is supporting Wajih but even at times he gets upset seeing the things Wajih does. After what Yawar has put Shehwar through, I am sure she will now openly support Mannat & will be on her side.
Closing Thoughts – Packed With Emotions & Drama:
Overall, this episode was packed with emotions & drama. I loved quite a few scenes but my favorite one has to be the conversation that Haya & Mannat had after such a long time. Maira Khan, Aijaz Aslam, Saba Qamar & the actress playing the role of Shamsa acted brilliantly in this episode. I am glad that this episode also covered a bit of the court case but I hope they shift the focus on it now rather than treating it as an after-thought. To be honest, I am a little disappointed after seeing the preview of the next episode, I think they have established the fact that Wajih is dangerous & can go to any extreme to harm others, so I don’t want to see the personal battle between Wajih & Mannat anymore, rather I want them to fight with each other legally as we have seen them having hatred against one another for quite some time now. Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Cheekh.

Cheers,

Ranjha Ranjha Kardi Episode 27 Story Review – Totally Unexpected
This drama is full of the most unexpected surprises and tonight’s episode had one such development in particular which was least expected. The way Fehmida supported Noori was the most unexpected development especially because she did not take a lot of time in making this decision. Most of the viewers were expecting Noori to get pregnant but the timing of this pregnancy is such that once again in a way fate has intervened and tried to save Noori from herself. Iqra Aziz’s riveting performance was the highlight of this episode since Noori went through so many different emotions tonight and Iqra Aziz translated all these emotions faultlessly on screen. Noori has absolutely no reason to be scared now, the secret is out and Fehmida is ready to accept her even after knowing everything yet Noori is still running after Sahir.
Important Developments
This episode opened with Noori making sure that Fehmida knew that she too was in some way responsible for the way Bhola treated her. Every single move made by Noori was well calculated and directed towards convincing Fehmida and Ama Janate that she was not safe in this house. Bhola once again ran away from home after a long time because he too felt threatened. Even though there was only one scene covering Bhola’s fears but this scene was extremely emotional. From here on the story focused entirely on Noori and Sahir. Although Fehmida’s reaction after finding out the truth was least expected but it was covered convincingly. Ama Janate always had a great influence on her and Fehmida also shares a close relationship with Noori. Apart from that, the most important reason for forgiving Noori and Ama Janate was that she knows how dependent Bhola is on Noori. Like Nusrat said that her mamta came before everything else.
Ama Janate’s limitations and the reasons why she couldn’t take Noori back were also shown in a convincing manner. All the dialogues tonight were written so well because they helped the viewers understand the motives of different characters. When Ama Janate reminded Noori that she always held self-respect dearer than anything else, I was expecting to see a change in her but right till the end it was almost as if Noori was completely blinded by her love for Sahir. She seemed concerned for Bhola but only for a second when Komal told her how Bhola hurt himself.
Sahir’s dialogues once again clearly indicated that his izzat was the only thing which mattered to him. Noori questioned him as well but right now she is not analyzing the situation in a practical and wise manner. Somehow she sees Sahir as the knight in shining armor even though he is anything but that. Noori and Sahir’s conversation on the phone after Fehmida accepts Noori even after knowing her background was the only confusing conversation tonight. It is frustrating watching Noori act like such a fool. It is almost as if she is digging her own grave.
It was definitely good watching Fehmida own some of the mistakes she has made. It was however odd that Fehmida was not shown worrying about Bhola.
Overall Impression
Even now, it is impossible to predict how this drama will end. Given the circumstances Noori does not deserve a happy ending but there is still hope that she might change her mind at some point. The preview of the next episode showed Sahir telling Nusrat that killing Bhola would be the best option. At the same time he told Noori that he was willing to accept her and her baby. Will Bhola fall prey to Nusrat and Sahir’s evil plans? How far will Noori go to attain her objectives? Will Noori have a change of heart before it’s too late? Bhola’s future depends more on Noori now than anyone else.
Ranjha Ranjha Kardi continues to be the best example of perfect storytelling, there are twists and turns in every other episode which are surprising as well as convincing. Tonight’s episode, just like all the previous episodes, was directed brilliantly. Iqra Aziz, Imran Ashraf and Asma Abbas have been brilliant throughout.
Do share your thoughts about this episode of Ranjha Ranjha Kardi.

Meer Abru Episode 9 & 10 Story Review – My Favorite
Opening Thoughts – Intense & Superb:
Ohkay so, these two episodes of Meer Abru were intense & superb. The story of Meer Abru overall is amazing & has been well-directed. It is the kind of drama that offers everything; a variety to the viewers & has so many tracks which are all super interesting. Meer Abru is my new favorite drama & I am so glad I gave it a go!
Love Triangle:
Saim decided that he will backtrack to allow Meer & Abru to be together but that was the moment which told Abru that she’d be making a wrong choice by rejecting Saim’s proposal. Saim advocated Abru in front of Meer in such a way that made it very easy for Abru to take such a decision. Unfortunately, even after Saim clarified the misunderstanding, Meer continued to believe his version & his perspective. Meer had made up his mind about Abru that she was two-timing, because of which he could not even grasp the truth. Abru realized it then & there that Meer didn’t have it in him to trust anyone that is why she chose Saim. I must say, I loved the conversation that Abru had with her father later on, I like the relationship Ahmed shares with his daughters especially Abru. I loved that Ahmed was observant enough to know that something was bothering Abru & she then confided in him which was so special. We never get to see such sort of a father-daughter relationship in our dramas therefore Ahmed & Abru’s equation is so refreshing to see.
I really think they should have shown a scene or two in which Zaibi finds out about the feelings Meer has for Abru because in this entire episode & going by her behaviour, it was too obvious that she was kind of deriving pleasure out of Meer’s misery & that she also knew that Meer had feelings for Abru. As far as I remember the first ever scene which was in relation to this scenario was the one in which Zaibi gave the chain to Meer telling him to gift it to the girl that he loved. May be Waleed must have told her later that he found that chain to be with Abru’s sister & they might have connected the dots but I guess they should have covered such an important detail because all the teasing that Zaibi was doing was hard to decipher, but still it did suggest that she knew Meer was upset because of Abru. Zaibi’s grand plan is to drift this family apart & she did say that she will use Abru as her pawn so may be she knows exactly that Meer loves Abru & she will use it to her advantage. Zaibi also spoke to Waleed & it looks like she told Waleed to tell Meer about Saim & Abru’s affair even before Saim got a chance to do that. They didn’t give this entire scenario the coverage that it required to clarify everything but it does look like Zaibi as well as Waleed have also played a part in creating this misunderstanding between Saim & Meer.
Abru immediately realized that things were going to get awkward for her & she won’t find an escape easily therefore she decided to resign from the job. Another thing that I liked was the way Saim & Abru openly discussed about Meer & his attitude towards Abru. It is like Saim exactly knows how Meer is going to react that is why he decided to be supportive of Abru even more to put her mind to ease. It was nice to see that after every discussion with Saim, Abru felt relieved & she knew she had a strong support system to make things easy for her!
Sana has pretty much understood Waleed’s game plan & also because she respects Abru, she decided to call it quits with Waleed but sadly, Haya doesn’t really realize. The only thing I find a little unconvincing is the fact that both Waleed & Haya twirl & hug each other in front of the entire university, yet they claim to have kept their relationship a secret. Everyone in the university also knows that Haya happens to be Prof. Ahmed’s daughter, still no one has reported it to him or even her sister Sana that Haya is hanging out with Waleed all the time? I think they should have shown that they both were meeting outside the university to make their secret affair believable.
Meer was struggling but still, he didn’t even for a second think that he might be misunderstanding the entire situation. Meer has made up his mind about Abru, he thinks she cheated on him & he also thinks Saim lied to him, therefore he is making things difficult for both of them. Meer is going to haunt Abru & even though Saim is standing by her side, all of this will obviously test his patience too. Saim knew exactly that Meer must have dragged Abru in his room that is why he ignored it all & trusted Abru but it does look like Meer is not going to stop. I loved the conversation Meer had with his mother Saira. Saira did give him a reality check that Meer didn’t know how to express his love & in fact he didn’t know how to love someone, that is why she dreaded that Meer might hurt himself. Slowly & steadily everyone has started to find out the truth about the love triangle that exists between Saim, Abru & Meer so I am guessing Zaibi will make the most of it to push her agenda plus she’ll have full support of Waleed too who already hates Abru!
I must admit, we see so many females getting slapped that all the time so whenever Abru slaps a guy in this drama, I cheer for her. Abru slapped Waleed’s friend who misbehaved with her & now, she slapped Waleed who she knows is playing with her sister’s feelings. You go girl! Haya is innocent, she really has no idea what Waleed is upto but I so wish she believes Abru or even Sana & parts ways with Waleed. I must say I chuckle every time Waleed gives those mean expressions when Haya is not looking at him, lol!
Closing Thoughts – Such An Impressive Drama:
Overall, these two episodes of Meer Abru were superb. The direction is phenomenal & so is the acting. Noor Hassan & Sanam Chaudhry’s chemistry is beyond brilliant & makes me low-key root for them even though I know Meer is not in the right state of mind as of now. Noor Hassan really has done wonders & even though he has come back after a bit of a break, I think he really has come back stronger as an actor. Sanam Chauhdry never fails to impress with her flawless acting. Mirza Zain Baig is doing full justice to the nicest character of Saim. Saad Qureshi has also given a perfect treatment to Waleed. I wish to see more of Sana & Haya, like more of them apart from them being just university students or girls who are involved with Waleed because their equation with Abru is super enjoyable to watch. The promo of the next episode is already making it hard for me to wait for it the whole week. I so hope Haya is able to protect herself from Waleed though. I am officially in love with Meer Abru. Please share your thoughts about these two episodes of Meer Abru.

Ps: A lot of readers have already made a point that the story of Meer Abru is lifted from some Star Plus drama, but as I have said before, I haven’t watched it & I’m sure quite a lot of viewers must not have watched it either, so I request everyone to please stop mentioning it again & again. Also, since you guys know the story, I will appreciate if the unsolicited spoiler alerts are not handed out & let me & those viewers enjoy this drama who haven’t seen the Star Plus version. Thanks!
Aangan Episode 20 Story Review – The Death Toll Increases
This 20th episode of Aangan covered yet another tragedy, another important character died tonight and it was really difficult sitting through more of those mourning scenes. There was some character development in this episode and there were also plenty of scenes and situations which fell completely flat. Even though Sajal Aly got very little screen time tonight but she continues to be the best thing about an otherwise average play which has definitely failed to make an impression even after all these weeks. Every track ends with a tragedy therefore the death toll in this drama has naturally taken a toll on most of the viewers. The romantic tracks however never take a backseat no matter who dies.
The Developments
Tonight’s episode opened with yet another catchy number which was followed by Chammi’s miserable nikkah and rukhsati scene. The dread, misery and shock Chammi felt at this time was translated on-screen superbly by Sajal Aly. Sajal’s beautiful portrayal is the main reason why Chammi is the only character in this show which is easy to connect to. After spending a life of deprivation in her Chacha’s house, Chammi was shown leading an equally unhappy life after marriage. The scene covering her married life clearly showed that for her husband she was not a priority. Mazhar’s death came as a complete shock because the preview of this episode was misleading as it suggested that Jamil might be the next one to die.
Mazhar’s wife’s reaction was not in line with her character at all therefore it was impossible to feel for her. Every time someone dies Israr wishes he would have died instead. One can only wonder why Israr mian has to do all his dil ki batein with the one person who hates him the most! While Kareeman Bua’s undying hatred for Israr is just plain annoying as well as unnecessary, Israr’s dheetai is equally irritating. This time around however there was some hope that maybe Bua will say something nice to Israr but her response actually made me laugh because this time around she made it sound like he was the one responsible for all these deaths.
After her father’s death Alia missed Jamil more than ever. She is clearly in love with him but once he is back, she will be treating him the same way she did before. Watching this love story going around in circles is frustrating, to say the least. Alia’s mother finally realized that she could not bank on her brother and was disappointed in him – better late than never. This aspect should have been covered in more detail since the viewers have been listening to her praise her brother and bhabhi for so many weeks now. The viewers are somehow supposed to feel for Azhar because he has sacrificed everything for his country but I have always found it really difficult to feel for him.
Overall Impression
In all these weeks, in a certain way the story has come a long way but right from the beginning this drama has banked heavily on tragedies. Chammi’s track had so much potential had the writer explored her personality and everything she has been through in all these years. The script lacks depth, flow and at times clarity too. The dialogues and situations have been highly repetitive as well. Alia’s practical, sensitive and sensible side is appealing but her love for Jamil bhaiya has turned this track into one of the many desperate love stories in this play. The preview of the next episode suggested that the upcoming episode will be focusing on Alia and Jamil’s track.
Do share your thoughts about tonight’s episode of Aangan.

Khaas Episode 1 – 3 Story Review – Could Have Been Khaas
Introductory Details:
Ohkay so, writing of Sarwat Nazeer, direction of Danish Nawaz & production of Momina Duraid Productions; Khaas is the new drama airing on Hum TV every Wednesday. The first three episodes of Khaas introduced the characters in great detail & set the undertone of the story. The story of Khaas is mainly about Saba, who has no idea what life has in store for her. I decided to give this drama a go because of Sarwat Nazeer & the first three episode had Sarwat Nazeer written all over them.
Cast & Characters:
So, Saba (Sanam Baloch) belongs to a loving family where she has her father Faraz (Behroz Sabzwari), her mother Sadaf & sister Mehak. Saba’s elder sister Samreen is married & she is settled in Islamabad. Saba’s parents are an ideal couple who love & respect each other. Saba has grown up seeing such a perfect relationship in front of her, that is why it is natural for her to expect the same kind of relationship with her spouse.
On the other hand we got introduced to Ammar (Ali Rehman) who happens to be the eldest & only son of the family. He has a younger sister Nida (Anam Gohar). Ammar has been the centre of attention of his entire family all his life & that is why he has gotten used to the royal treatment. Ammar is egoistic & he can not take no for an answer. Ammar has always been treated as the most important person in everyone’s life that is why he expects everyone to treat him the same way.
Ammar’s friend Fakhir (Haroon Rashid) is the sensible, wise & mature person who tries to show Ammar the other side of the picture every time but because Ammar is so self-obsessed & thinks he knows better, he doesn’t pay heed to anything!
Story So Far:
So, Ammar sees Saba in her university & that’s when he decides to get married to her. Ammar’s cousin Farah (Natasha Ali) who happens to be a lecturer in the same university finds Saba for Ammar & that’s how things proceed. Ammar’s family puts forth his proposal for Saba & that’s how everything gets going.
Saba is someone who has big plans for herself that she will complete her education & focus on her career. The marriage was not on her mind but this unexpected proposal did put Saba in a tight spot. Saba’s parents did say that she had all the freedom to make the decision but kept on highlighting how much they liked Ammar & his family & how lucky Saba was to land such a proposal. The way Saba said made to say yes was a complete case of her getting pressurized but pyaar se. Saba was not in a mood to get married but because she saw how keen her parents especially her mother was, she couldn’t say no.
All this while, they kept on highlighting the fact that Saba’s delay in saying yes to the proposal was basically a big deal for Ammar & his family. Ammar couldn’t really wrap his head around the fact that there was this ordinary girl who wasn’t jumping with joy over his proposal & rather took her time to think things through. All those conversations about Saba making Ammar wait started to sound a little repetitive though. Ammar couldn’t take it therefore he even decided to call the wedding off but decided to go for it because firstly his family & friends pressurized & secondly, he spoke to Saba, that too when she kind of took an initiative. I think this was the interesting aspect how the writer tried to highlight the fact that things on the surface might seem perfect but ego & narcissism are deeply rooted & are mostly unseen in a person till the girl gets married. Everyone couldn’t stop praising Ammar over the face value but they had no idea how his attitude later will create problems for Saba.
Fakhir is also involved in a one-sided love with Saba. They both had a brief interaction over a little car accident but Fakhir couldn’t take her out of his mind, I guess it is because Saba probably resembles Fakhir’s mother a lot, that is why he developed feelings for her. Fakhir also happens to be a neighbour of Saba’s best friend & that is how he finds out about Saba’s engagement but he has yet to find out that Saba got engaged to Ammar.
Closing Thoughts – Commercialized Treatment:
Overall, the first three episodes of Khaas were decent but borderline average. This drama definitely can be tuned to but after seeing the first three episodes & also the promo of the fourth episode, I feel it lacks the spark that actually could’ve made it Khaas. Sarwat Nazeer’s scripts are simple & they deserve that kind of treatment as well, like the currently on-air Do Bol is a perfect example. I feel by commercializing her script, Danish Nawaz has kind of compromised on the essence of the story. The main issues seem to be suppressed by the least important details that have gotten coverage like Sadaf’s fixation with Whatsapp & Facebook? Every time these apps were mentioned, I wondered how are they related to the story or are going to help? I know the director has tried to make it all very real & relatable to the daily lives or regular people but I think even the teenagers don’t announce out loud that they need to click a picture for Facebook. Anyways, Sanam Baloch looks good in this drama, probably better & less tired than she looked in Teri Raza but I hope her role is substantial & doesn’t turn into another bechari who chooses to stay in a dysfunctional marriage because she doesn’t want to upset her parents. Ali Rehman looks bored, not because of the character that he is playing but because of the overall attitude & styling. I think it’s high time that he should experiment with his looks a bit. Haroon Rashid seems to be playing the same kind of role that he has already played in Do Bol, the only difference is that in this drama he is far more mature & rooted. The character of Farah is loud & Nastaha Ali has done everything to make it louder, but yes, looks nice & does justice to the overall character. The direction is alright but it could have been better definitely because Sarwat Nazeer’s scripts come across as best when they are given a fairly simple treatment. The OST is alright too & I so don’t want to make this reference but I will say that so far the first three episodes have been just alright & I hope the remaining episodes turn out to be Khaas. Oh yes, before I end my review I so want to know who wrote the dialogue ‘Ab ai na billi thaylay se bahir’? Like who did the literal translation of the proverb ‘the cat’s out of the bag now’, because I had a good laugh at this gem. I hope there are more such gems in the rest of the drama. Anyways, please share your thoughts about the first three episode of Khaas.
Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.
Do Bol Episode 27 & 28 Story Review – Family Politics
Opening Thoughts – Family Politics:
Ohkay so, this episode of Do Bol focused more on all the family members & their politics, so much so that it didn’t offer anything new but it does not undermine the fact that it still was an interesting episode to watch. I do wish they had kind of wrapped things up a bit in this episode because it seems they will give us a rushed ending now!
Side Characters Got A Screen-time:
Badar was suffering silently. He didn’t have the courage to confront Gaiti as he feared that she might say what he did not want to hear. Gaiti obviously had no idea what was wrong with Badar & she continued to do all that she promised him, that is staying by his side & doing everything that he loves.
Gaiti’s family has not only welcomed her back wholeheartedly, they are planning a reception for her & Badar too, which I think was very sweet. Seeing Iqbal being actively involved in the planning & giving Gaiti full freedom to choose the date was very sweet of him. Iqbal has changed & he is doing everything to let Gaiti know that she is loved. Nafeesa’s happiness seeing her entire family especially Iqbal & Gaiti happy is super sweet. She genuinely cared for both her husband & her daughter that is why out of all the people she is the happiest.
Zafar apologized to Iqbal only because Firdous said so, otherwise he has shown no remorse over what he has done. It was interesting to see how even Fareeha became confrontational with Firdous & showed her a mirror. Firdous still has not learnt her lesson & it is unfortunate that she still teaches Zafar to be manipulative only to attain financial gains from Iqbal. Firdous can not stand the fact that Badar has joined Iqbal & that Iqbal is on good terms with his only daughter. It was ironic that Firdous claimed Fareeha was selfish but she totally forgot that she herself is no less either!
Rania continued to make an issue to convince her family for Jamshed but Jamshed only manipulated Rania whereas he is not sincere with her. The entire scenario of Rania wanting to get married to Jamshed has been stretched like a rubber band & similarly, Sameer wanting to win Gaiti back is another such instance which is super annoying. I found it funny that without even listening to Gaiti, Sameer announced that he was coming to get her? How stupid is he? I swear I have seen quite a lot of annoying characters in Pakistani dramas but Sameer is a dheet of some other level. Fareeha is another good-for-nothing character who has wasted so much of resources to look ‘good’ but unfortunately, has failed miserably. An epic fail sorts!
Closing Thoughts – Coverage of Side Tracks:
Overall, this episode of Do Bol was decent but definitely could have included such situations that actually mattered but then again, it is understandable that they had to give these supporting tracks a closure too so they addressed them all in this episode. However, I do dread that the final episode might give us a rushed ending. So far so good. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Do Bol.

Anaa Episode 8 – 11 – Story Review
These episodes of Anaa covered more of the family politics and the new turns in all the romantic/not-so-romantic tracks. After making some of the most important decisions of their lives in haste and anger, Daneen and Areesh both were shown suffering in different ways. While Daneen tried to make her marriage work, Areesh being the coward that he is, could not own the decision he took. Areesh has been shown as a really weak man while Daneen definitely has more guts than him. Ezza continued to sideline her actual feelings for Altamash and there were times when it was difficult to understand how serious Altamash was regarding this relationship. Some of the dialogues and situations are already getting repetitive. Even though Daneen is flawed and most of the times she is clueless as well but she is the reason I tune into this drama every week. She is more honest than most of the characters in this play and whatever she has done so far has harmed no one but herself. Hania Aamir’s performance has been superb throughout. Naimal Khawar and Usman Mukhtar’s on-screen chemistry makes you root for them but their relationship annoys me at times. I would definitely like to see them together on screen again.
The Love Triangles
These episodes covered Daneen’s attempts to settle down in her marriage but Saif had some serious reservations about the kind of relationship Daneen wanted. Saif has accepted Daneen as his wife but he isn’t the kind of man who will give Daneen the sort of companionship she wants. That is something Saif made quite clear before they got married but even then Daneen is getting sick of the constant comparisons and wants more from this relationship. Even though Daneen is immature, at times clever but she is no match for the more mature people around her who have their way more often than her. Although her phupo kept on giving her advices which were anything but positive, Daneen did not go running back into Areesh’s arms. While Areesh is being unfaithful and he is more than willing to divorce Aania, Daneen tried to help Aania whichever way she could. Also, her apology when Areesh picked up the phone and told her how he felt showed that she did not want to hurt Aania.
Altamash’s girlfriend and Ezza’s cousin are the two new characters which were introduced in these episodes. While Altamash’s girlfriend was insecure after finding out that he liked Ezza, Kabeer does not harbor any such feelings for Ezza, which is definitely a relief. The Altamash/Ezza track has a very non-desi feel to it. Some of the dialogues and scenarios however are not always pleasing. Ezza drinking Pulmonol and getting intoxicated was one such scene which reminded me of drama serial Ashk! The ‘talab ki machli’ dialogue was especially weird mainly because of the way it was written. The fact that Altamash is a ‘good catch’ was repeated many times. Nazia wants to see Altamash and Ezza together and it looks like she will eventually make it happen. Ezza’s denial of her feelings for Altamash is actually getting irritating now but I guess it is her anaa which isn’t allowing her to accept her feelings. The way Altamash gave his girlfriend a warning was in bad taste, unless there is an actual reason for showing his aggressive side.
Nazia’s Materialistic Approach
In these episodes the viewers saw how Nazia has changed. She doesn’t only want revenge but her entire approach towards everything is quite materialistic and shallow. Her husband naturally does not like the changes in her and her personality overall is annoying. She feels entitled to this better life and living it the way she wants after being away for all these years. She is a perfect example of how negative and bitter some people get after they have such unpleasant experiences. I think the reason why there has been so much focus on her attitude is that sooner or later she will be the reason why Altamash and Ezza get married.
Overall Impression
I know most people are watching this drama for Ezza and Altamash but for me Daneen is the main attraction. After watching these few episodes I am having a tough time liking Altamesh’s character since there are times when he comes across as a really twisted human being. Daneen’s character, the portrayal and her relationship with everyone around her are the reasons why I continue to watch and enjoy this drama. I am losing my patience with Ezza and Altamash they are clearly attracted to one another but they are constantly telling each other off as well. Daneen is more honest and now her ego has definitely taken a backseat in her life. Her character is easier to understand and relate to. You can’t help but feel for Aania but she is also to be blamed for being such a doormat. The performances have been on point, the family politics is the least interesting part of this drama but some of the other tracks are interesting enough.

Do Bol Episode 25 & 26 Story Review – Brilliant Performances
Opening Thoughts – Sweet Moments:
Ohkay so, this episode of Do Bol had a lot of offer – some sweet & some bitter moments. It is amazing how everything is falling into place & I can’t wait for the last episode tomorrow. In literal sense, Team Do Bol has proved that when simple stories are executed nicely, they make such beautiful dramas.
Iqbal Has Changed Completely:
Iqbal decided to welcome Gaiti & Badar back into his life. The credit for it definitely goes to Nafeesa because it was due to her patience & persistence that she succeeded in convincing Iqbal to change his mind & accept the fact that he could never stay on bad terms with his only daughter. Badar respected Iqbal’s wish & took Gaiti to see her entire family. That entire scene along with Gaiti & Iqbal’s heart to heart was so emotional & well-executed, but I chuckled seeing Firdous acting as a typical Pupho who could not see everyone happy. I also liked the way Nafeesa tackled Firdous in this entire situation where she just listened to her quietly & didn’t say much as she was well aware of the kind of attitude Firdous generally had towards her family. It is also quite interesting to see how despite knowing everything that Zafar has done, Firdous continues to test everyone to see if they still respect her or not.
Gaiti & Badar shared a few good moments together but then Jamshed who kept on blackmailing Gaiti ended up doing what he was threatening her about. Badar was already confused after all the things he had heard from Fareeha that is why he found it hard to ignore the evidence that Jamshed presented & the picture that he painted in front of Badar. To be honest, I don’t really get Fareeha’s character & her involvement in this entire matter. She dislikes Gaiti & doesn’t want her to settle with Sameer, that’s fine but the phone call that she made to Badar in order to warn him was uncalled for. It is too obvious that Fareeha has got no life of her own, she is faarigh in literal sense that is why she has picked up Gaiti as a subject of her time pass & that is why she can’t stop yapping about her. Fareeha’s attitude is exactly like her hairstyle & styling – TACKY!
Sameer has turned out to be an annoying character. It is amusing how he acts all genteel & decent but all the things that he does scream the opposite. It was good to know that Sameer did acknowledge it in front of Rameen that everything between him & Gaiti was over but not sure why is he going to call Gaiti as shown in the preview of the next episode. Badar tried really hard to ignore everything but the constant reminders from all the sides are definitely going to cloud his judgment for a while. I did like the fact that even after hearing all those bad things about Gaiti, Badar did not show any reaction to make Fareeha or Jamshed feel that he was believing them. Badar has kept everything to himself & is analysing the situation, let’s see what happens.
Closing Thoughts – Beautiful Performances:
Overall, this episode of Do Bol was emotional & packed with beautiful performances. The father daughter scene acted beautifully by Mehmood Aslam & Hira Mani was the highlight of this episode. The preview of the next episode seems dramatic & it seems that they still have a lot to show, so I am eagerly waiting to see that. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Do Bol.

Inkaar Episode 8 Story Review – Interesting Conversations
Tonight’s episode of Inkaar had few of the most important developments to its credit. Shayan’s character is turning out to be an interesting one since he has different shades to his personality. Yumna Zaidi and Sami Khan look good together and their relationship tonight was covered in a sweet manner. Rehan Chaudhry is annoying and he clearly has a problem accepting other people’s likes and dislikes. With this episode the story moved forward a little and the viewers found out more about the characters.
Hajra Is In Love
In the previous few episodes the viewers were shown how and why Hajra gradually started trusting Shayan. In this episode for the first time Hajra declared her love for Shayan and she clearly trusts Shayan more now. In the previous episode Hajra was confused but tonight the way she told Rehan off and later on allowed Shayan to hold her hand basically proved that she trusted this man completely now. The scenes at the university were few of my favorites because Hajra and Shayan’s conversations in particular were very well written. These scenes also showed that Rehan was not going to leave Hajra and Shayan alone. He is making it impossible for Hajra to take admission again.
I absolutely loved the scene in which Hajra blamed herself for trusting Rehan but Shayan assured her by telling her that it was his fault and not hers. Hajra’s fears and her faith in Shayan was also translated beautifully on screen in these scenes. Coming back to the university was never easy for Hajra and it would have been impossible for her to continue fighting her case if Shayan was not on her side. There are however times when you can’t help but wonder if Shayan has a life other than being by Hajra’s side all the time. It would have been nice if he had some other interests, hobbies or perhaps a job.
Shayan’s Character
The fact that Shayan is not your regular seedha sadha lrka definitely makes his character more appealing. Right from the beginning, through different scenes the writer conveyed the message that Shayan was completely capable of taking a stand for himself and for Hajra. It all started with him beating the man who said something to Hajra but refusing to hit her brother while he beat him up. Tonight too he was shown being aggressive repeatedly but he was a completely different person around Hajra. So far all his fights have been for Hajra but this aspect of his personality can perhaps swing in a different direction in the upcoming episodes. Shayan also does not confront Rehan the way he would confront anyone else. This basically shows that even after everything that happened, Shayan still holds himself back because Rehan was once his friend.
Rehan’s Character
So far, Rehan’s character is all back. He is seriously twisted, he has absolutely no respect for women and he is constantly shown harassing someone or the other. Tonight, even when he was interacting with Shayan’s mother he was quite intimidating. Rehan clearly thinks that he deserves respect but does not believe in respecting anyone at all. He is used to buying people whether it’s a servant or a headmaster and he does not value relationships at all.
Overall Impression
Sami Khan and Yumna Zaidi’s on-screen chemistry makes their scenes an absolute treat to watch. Imran Ashraf makes you hate his character which basically means that he is doing a great job. Still waiting to see how far Rehan will go to stop this marriage from taking place. Shayan too has proved that he can do anything for Hajra therefore it remains to be seen how far this fight will go. I especially like how Hajra’s relationship with her mother has grown in all these weeks. Her mother’s dialogue about khushi bantana was one of my favorites. There were quite a few meaningful conversations in this episode which were interesting.

Do Bol Episode 23 & 24 Story Review – Beautiful Drama
Opening Thoughts – Gaiti’s Perspective:
Ohkay so, this episode of Do Bol focused more on the all the feelings & emotions that Gaiti was experiencing. The slow & steady change in Gaiti’s perspective & thought process has been shown beautifully in this drama & now this episode marked the defining moment of her relationship with Badar.
Gaiti Finally Admitted That She Loves Badar:
Gaiti did come back to Badar after being thrown out of Nafees’ place but still, all this while she was there, she could not take Badar out of her mind. Badar did think Gaiti came back because she had nowhere to go but he didn’t know that it was Gaiti’s love towards him that brought her back to his place. Badar did persuade Gaiti to come to a final conclusion because he wanted to do right by her. Ever since Gaiti left & he received those divorce papers, Badar has only doubted & questioned the integrity of this relationship. Badar knows that this relationship means a lot to him but despite that, he doesn’t want to prevent Gaiti from living the life she desires or dreams of. Badar started feeling that Gaiti came back only due to her helplessness & that is why he told her clearly that he will have no issues if she decides to leave.
Gaiti knew that she wanted to stay with Badar, she has fallen in love with him but till the time Badar made his intentions clear, she hadn’t addressed those feelings herself. Till date, Gaiti knew that Badar loved her but she herself did not admit that she also had feelings for him but then thanks to Sameer she was forced to think on those lines.
Sameer has now started to act like a spoiled brat who refuses to take no for an answer. I will admit that I like how the writer has shown Sameer to be a kind & harmless person & has only shown that the circumstances were never in his favour because of which he could not do what he wanted to in order to win Gaiti’s heart, but now his feelings have turned into an obsession which is a bit too much. Sameer knows that he has been misunderstood by Gaiti but only to find himself a chance of meeting her, he ended up pushing her to the limit where she was forced to confess that she was in love with Badar. Gaiti finally let Badar know that she was ready to spend the rest of her life with him & Badar could not believe it. That entire scene was nicely done.
On Iqbal’s side, he couldn’t cope up with the news of Jahan Ara’s demise, it broke & shattered him completely & may be that’s why, he decided to let go of any such ill feelings that he had towards anyone because Iqbal also learned that holding so much hatred & anger in his heart was doing no good to him or his family. May be that’s why Iqbal not only forgave Zafar but also found it in his heart to forgive & welcome Gaiti back in his life too. Nafeesa’s patience & persistence is commendable & I also love how both Nasreen & Nafeesa find the time to unwind & confide in each other. Nasreen at first did seem to be a little selfish but I like how they have shown her sharing such a healthy relationship with Nafeesa, where she feels for her a lot & always lends her emotional support too.
In last week’s episode of Do Bol, during Neelam’s rukhsati scene, they showed that Zafar attended the wedding but in this week’s episode, they suggested as if he brought home now for the first time that too after having him jailed. I found this to be a little glitch because last week there was a conversation too where Iqbal tells Munawwar to hurry up with Neelam’s wedding before Zafar’s issue is blown out of proportion & he causes more harm as by that time Zafar had already left for Malaysia supposedly. Anyways, Zafar came back but he didn’t feel ashamed at what he has done, in fact he vowed to destroy his own uncles because they exposed him. Firdous tried really hard to win her place back by playing the sympathy card but she is well aware of the fact that Zafar’s attitude will land her in deep trouble.
Jamshed filmed Gaiti’s final meeting with Sameer & on the other hand even Fareeha was trying to plant a seed of doubt in Badar’s heart against Gaiti too. It seems Gaiti will have to make some more effort in order to prove her love & purity of her intentions in front of Badar because the circumstances will state the otherwise.
Closing Thoughts – Beautiful Drama:
Overall, this episode like all the previous episodes of Do Bol was superb. I loved Hira Mani’s calm & composed acting as Gaiti. She made it obvious that despite the circumstances not being in her favour, she was at peace & was ready to take her life as it comes. It is commendable how such intricate & complex emotions have been conveyed by Hira Mani with such effortlessness. Affan Waheed & all the supporting actors have done a wonderful job too. The entire team of Do Bol should take a bow for creating & giving the viewers such a beautiful drama. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Do Bol.
