Zun Mureed Episode 19 – Review
This latest episode of Zun Mureed showed how Tabbasum’s job and whatever she was teaching at the school affected her relationship with her brother and bhabhi. Her bhabhi is always looking for excuses to mock and criticize her therefore this latest development did not come as a surprise at all. Once again the writer highlighted how people get insecure when they feel that their daughters might feel so loved that they could set their standards a little too high which would make things difficult for them in the future. Everything shown in this latest episode was easy to relate to since in our society people generally do not give their daughters the kind of love and confidence which they give their sons. The notion that daughters shouldn’t be “spoiled” because once they get married they have to compromise is common even in affluent households run by women and men who don’t know any better.
In this episode once again Sajjad felt at ease because he was so sure that Rubina could run the house better than Tabbasum! Ignorance isn’t always a bliss because Sajjad will ultimately have to pay a big price for being so ignorant and arrogant. Right now it doesn’t look like he will change his stance or show some flexibility anytime soon! Rubina’s scenes were repetitive, she is doing more harm than good and she is also getting plenty of screen time! Some of Tabbasum’s dialogues tonight too were same as the ones we have heard before. It was however good to see Tabbasum not showing her vulnerabilities and feelings in front of people who couldn’t care less about how she felt. Fari’s role in this episode was positive too and her conversations with Tabbasum are the highlight of every episode. One thing which I don’t understand is that why does Bi Jaan not have a phone. If she can write, she can also message using a phone or dial a number and get in touch with either Sajjad or Maryam. Her disability in this respect doesn’t quite make sense. She has not shared how she feels about the new maid and what she has heard with anyone. Sajjad would probably not believe her any way but sharing these details with Maryam could help even though she too has her own limitations now but she could knock some sense into Sajjad.
Tabbasum got the first notification for divorce in this episode and her bhabhi and brother’s reaction was as dramatic as it could have been. All the conversations her bhabhi had with her husband revolved around the taboos attached to divorce and everything she said was indeed true. Once again the viewers were shown how a woman alone is judged in such circumstances and no one questions the man who gives the divorce. The preview of the next episode showed Maryam’s husband threatening her once again and it seems like things will most likely get worse for Maryam in the upcoming episode.
Zun Mureed has tons to offer but the story needs to pick up pace. This drama depicts realistically and in detail what a woman goes through when she decides to take a stand for herself. The script never goes off track but the story has really slowed down. I am looking forward to more interesting developments in the upcoming episodes.

Pukaar Episode 25 Review – One Good Episode!
Ohkay so, this episode of Pukaar was definitely good because the truth was spoken & much needed reality checks were given. I am glad that this drama is ending next week & now when I look back, I feel it was an above average drama to tune to, with nothing new to the story but with a decent execution making it worthy of watching. However, if anyone wants to know whether they should invest their time in this drama, I’d be glad to let them know that while watching it, they should make fast forward option their best friend & they shall be fine!
Well well well, Samra came back with a bang but as much as I enjoyed the fact that she gave a piece of her mind to everyone, I was kind of annoyed that she actually proved to be a weakling who was now speaking only because she had a support of Sarang – a man! If I am not mistsken, Samra did tell Sarang that she was doing just fine without ‘him’ & his ‘support’ but she ended up contradicting herself. I would’ve been completely fine with this atttitude of Samra if she, before getting married had taken a stand for herself! She proved to be a weak girl who just couldn’t do anything for herself & needed someone to save her. I am totally fine with her & Sarang’s pairing too & everything that Sarang did for her & himself but if I speak about Samra only, I am not a fan of her character. Yes, I know she had no way out but then no one could’ve stopped her from voicing her rights, from holding her ground & from taking a stand for herself but she chose to give Laali Ma the edge to ruin her life & now she played & acted like a victim only because she knew she had a strong back? Even with all the dialogues that Samra threw Tashfeen & Laali’s way, I failed to see her as a strong woman who helped herself, because no, she didn’t! Sad to say that by the end of this journey, Samra turned out to be just another case of damsel in distress, a typical drama wali bechari who couldn’t overcome her bechargi & pretty much lost her voice when she was single!
Well, Tashfeen once again didn’t disappoint me because she once again proved how irrational & small minded she is but then Samra didn’t bother about her because in reality, Tashfeen herself has been shaking because of Amna’s arrival. Tashfeen was trying hard to belittle Sarang but he outdid her & then the rest is history!
Sarang’s conversation with Sultan set him straight but then it is commendable that Sarang set the ground even before coming back & it was only because of that press conference & his statements that he passed about Sultan, that he was now standing in that Haveli saying everything that he wanted to. Sarang didn’t say anything wrong because it is a fact that Sultan faked his illness to bring him here only for his selfish political reasons. Samra & Sarang set everyone straight but then Laali Ma couldn’t take it as may be this was the first time someone spoke the truth & showed her a mirror. Also, it was funny that a man of Sultan’s stature was sitting helplessly when Samra was being rude to Laali Ma!
Another reason why I sound so ticked off by Samra is that she flew high relying on Sarang but then in person chose to be all egoistic about her relationship with him, once again telling him that she wants to part ways with him? She definitely is all over the place & seems scattered brained to me because she on her own was unable to do anything but now when she came back to let everyone know that she became this wonder woman after becoming Mrs. Sarang, she was thinking on the lines of getting divorced? I am sure Laali & Zamani put her through a lot of mental torture & she lost a bit of her sanity in the course of it but then where’s her rationality? Samra got married to Sarang after thinking things through, she also knows that he loves her & has done enough already to prove it so she she stop acting all high & mighty about the fact that she can survive without him & will be fine on her own because even she knows, that’s not true!
Anyways, my sincere advice to the makeup artists of this drama is that they should consider some other career option because whatever they did on the actors’ faces in the name of makeup in this drama is atrocious. I don’t remember watching a drama where the makeup was this bad that it made these actors look like caricatures. Real bad job I say & for that reason, as much as I like Sarang’s character I couldn’t concentrate on his acting, dialogues or anything because I couldn’t take my eyes off his orange eyeshadow & purple lip tint, my goodness!!! Also, the editors should go easy on Hue/Saturation option too while editing the drama because it is no fun seeing Rehan Sheikh in blue moustache. Anyways, please share your thoughts!

Haara Dil Episode 13 Review — Predictable
So episode 13 is here and nothing unexpected happened. The typical step-mom routine is so prosaic and unimaginative it is hard to see past that. To some extent what made this episode more bearable was Fehmi’s nephew Qasid’s visit to Abrar’s house. The actor who plays Qasid really captures the essence of his character and is an absolute treat to watch. No surprises there he visits Abrar’s place to meet his khala and is met by Abeer instead. They have a pretty fiery first encounter and right after that he shows his interest in marrying Abeer. Partly because he likes her and partly because that way he can exploit Abrar’s money easily.
The other refreshing part was Hamna. Hamna is friendship goals honestly, she arranges for Arham and Momina to meet because she knows both of them are suffering and being a friend she can’t just watch them suffer silently. So she arranges a surprise meet up for them so they can talk things out. Momina suggests that if Arham must marry her he would have to accept her and Sami because she can not trust Fehmi or anyone else with Sami and it looks like this is more than what Arham bargained for. Momia has given Arham a 24 hour deadline so we will find out in the next episode for sure.
On Amtul and Fizza’s front there weren’t any new developments except Fizza calls Momina and we will find out in the next episode what for. Abeer continues to be the rebel and it is fun to watch. She overhears Fehmi pitching the idea of marrying Abeer to her nephew Qasid and she is furious so furious that even Fehmi gets a fright from her.
In the morning Abeer is gone apparently for the college trip that Abrar forbade her from going on but after the eavesdropping the night before there is no surety if she will ever come back home.
The bond between Sami and Momina is becoming more and more stronger while the same bond is making the bond between Arham and Momina more and more weaker. It is refreshing that even after seeing Arham and Fizza together on a friend’s wedding Momina isn’t sore. It is stimulating for once to see a couple that is not so insecure that they can not even stand to look their partner hanging out with someone else.
Over all this episode was average but had its’s moments. Arham’s character is so far very deep but Danish Taimoor’s acting isn’t exactly doing justice to it. The way he struggles with his mother’s authority but doesn’t give in so easily at the same time he kind of knows what he wants from his life and that is something at this age. Seemi Pasha plays Amtul really well the way she gets agitated every time her authority is challenged is beautiful.
In the coming episode we will be witnessing some major twists and turns so stay tuned.

Apparently Ali Zafar Is Targeting Faris Shafi!
Everyone is familiar with the on-going feud between singers Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi. After the later accused Ali of sexual harassment, the case is in court. The news is that the things have taken a toll on the career of Meesha’s brother now.
Apparently, Ali Zafar contacted Patari, a music streaming app to lower the number of the track of Faris Shafi on their latest tracks list. Patari has been in immense bad light since the charges of sexual harassment came forward against their ex-CEO Khalid Bajwa. Khalid Bajwa had stepped down and was facing an audit but things were not so smooth as Bajwa was said to be still involved in all matters.
Now, a screenshot has come out which shows how Ali has targeted Faris’s song and Patari also entertained his request. Here it is:
Looks like Faris’s song on Patari made Ali feel that they were biased towards him.

5 Beautiful Messages we get from Drama Khaani
Meri Guriya Episodes 1 & 2 – Disturbing But Not Original Enough
Written By: Radain Shah
Directed By: Ali Hassan
Produced By: Big Bang Entertainment
Schedule: Every Wednesday 8pm
******SPOILER ALERT*******
I have to admit that the only reason I tuned into this show was the writer, I absolutely loved drama serial Nibah and was waiting for another drama written by Radain Shah. Also, right now, those dramas which highlight either social issues or revolve around family ties interest me more than those which focus on love triangles. Dar Si Jati Hei Sila set the bar really high therefore I couldn’t help but compare the two after watching the first episode of Meri Guriya. While Dar Si Jati Hei Sila dealt with abuse alone, this one showed the aftermath of a child’s brutal rape and murder and will also be focusing on the person responsible for this horrific act. Unfortunately, since we have all heard the gruesome details of how the beautiful and innocent Zainab was subjected to torture and rape therefore connecting the dots immediately was easy. The fact that the policeman pointed out that this was the 12th case of its kind showed that this particular incident wasn’t just fictional but was taken from Zainab’s tragedy. While this has unfortunately become a “trend” nowadays, I wish the makers of the drama didn’t add these details which showed the link of this story with that of Zainab. It is painful for the parents to watch such dramatized events on screen specifically when they know that this is their child’s story. Even if the intention of the makers is honest, this is unethical since Zainab’s parents made it quite clear that they do not want to see their child’s murder be dramatized. The details under the YouTube videos also mentioned that the drama makers have taken “inspiration from a real-life incident”. Having said that, I have faith in the writer and few of the actors involved therefore I am definitely going to follow this play and hope that the makers will be able to do justice to the story.
The first episode of Meri Guriya gave me goose bumps, it was a little too disturbing because it covered how Arfa, a nine year old girl, was dumped in the forest after being brutally raped and murdered. While these events were covered with utmost honesty and realistically, I did feel that Big Bang Entertainment yet again used the shock factor as an attention-grabbing tactic. Shehnaz (Sania Saeed) and Shahmeer’s (Sajjid Hassan) track had Mubarak Ho Beti Hui Hei written all over it therefore it won’t be wrong to say that this particular track isn’t too original either. The fact that Sajjid Hassan is playing the role of a man who cannot take a stand for his wife and doesn’t love his daughters enough and Ayesha Khan yet again is playing the daddi who hates her granddaughters, is constantly mocking them and her daughter in law doesn’t help either! Also, Shehnaz just like Naheed is a strong woman who loves her daughters and is completely focused on their well-being. One of Shehnaz’s 3 daughters Abida was really close to Arfa therefore she finds it really hard to cope with the loss. At the same time she is also fascinated by the dulhan next door since there is a wedding taking place in the neighborhood. She insists she wants to see the bride even though everyone is feeling terrified and insecure after Arfa’s murder. In these two episodes Abida and the new bride Safeena (Sonya Hussyn) develop a special bond with each other. Abida looks up to and adores the new bride and Safeena also likes her.
Safeena’s character reminded me of Farwa in the first episode but in the second episode the viewers were shown a different side of her as well. Safeena is outspoken, she plays badminton professionally and expects her husband Dabeer (Mohsin Abbas Haider) to divorce her soon so that she can pursue her career. Dabeer too isn’t interested in this marriage, he got married only to please his mother. ARY pretty much gave away the basic storyline and the reality behind the characters therefore even right now when the viewers should be wondering why Dabeer was crying in front of his wife and later on laughing when he heard that the rapist committed suicide, we know exactly why! Abida’s fate has also been mentioned in the summary given by ARY on YouTube! Sania Saeed. Mohsin Abbas Haider and Sajjid Hassan are my favorite actors, they are constantly experimenting and never fail to impress. These two episodes however could have been far more powerful had they not been inspired from Zainab’s tragedy and Mubarak Ho Beti Hui Hei. The story obviously will be completely different from that of MHBHH but these similarities should have been avoided.
After watching these two episodes I am still on the fence because of the lack of originality but curious to find out how the makers treat this incredibly difficult subject since they are not only going to focus on the victims but also the perpetrator. Also, I would like to request ARY to keep the summaries of their plays short and to the point because they give away a little too much!

Visaal Episode 15 Review – Entertaining!
Ohkay so, this drama honestly keeps on getting better & better. What I love the most about Visaal is that even before one situation is done & dusted, another one comes to the forefront for the characters to face & deal with. Even though things have been more or less the same from the last few episodes but still there’s enough elaboration to keep us engaged & entertained!
Akram’s now focusing on only one thing & that is to isolate Pari in such a manner that she only sees him in the hour of need. Akram has his plan set, he wants to drift Pari & Naheed apart & he knows that’s no easy feat. Akram will definitely do something that will create enough distance between the girls for them to ever overcome it because Akram will keep on making sure that they never ever communicate. Akram hasn’t confronted Naheed & he doesn’t intend to either because he knows that she is not going to confess so easily & that is why he is not wasting his time on doing something that won’t yeild him any results!
Akram also took care of another issue, which was Pari’s marriage & proposals. As usual, he relied on his friend to once again create a drama in front of those who were concerned for Pari’s marriage. Naheed did give Pari a genuine advice that if Taimur ever comes back, she should get married to him but then Pari has realized that he is just a coward who will never do anything that causes a dent on his image & I agree, I hold the same opinion about Taimur too because he proved how weak he was when he chose to leave by just leaving a letter for Pari behind!
Akram’s problems are far from being over. I like how the writer has kept it realistic that even though Akram is mostly winning at things, the curveballs still keep coming his way. First it was Jumman Bua’s Devrani & now it was Ghufran’s sudden plan of going to Multan to attend a conference. I am sure even though Ghufran doesn’t doubt Akram, his wife has planted a seed in his mind due to which he now wants to meet Akram’s family. Let’s see how Akram will dodge this bullet!
Overall, it was a very interesting episode & I enjoyed it thoroughly. I must say I loved the reactions Akram had when Naheed’s mother was sincerely telling him all about those lifelong teachings that she has given to Naheed on how to be a dutiful wife – that Insha Allah at the end of the conversation did the trick & I was in a laughter fit. I know, even though Akram is a very quirky character, I find humor & realism in him in a way that in real lives people are at times exactly like him, where they sugar-coat their true feelings & pose to be all nice & sweet in front of some people. Even though things are pretty dramatic in this drama, I love it for the fact that there are some touches of reality which actually spark a humor too. It for sure is a very intelligently written, directed & acted script. However I do wish there was more to Pari’s character than a bucket full of tears, like we have Naheed who has so many layers, Akram as well but Pari even though rightfully simple & sweet now seems a little boring because all she does is just cry her eyes out. I know life hasn’t given her any reason to smile or be happy but still, you get what I’m saying, right! Anyways, Zahid Ahmed once again stole the show. Looking forward to the next episode. Lashkara Episode 10 & 11 Review – Phenomenal!
Ohkay so, these 2 episodes of Lashkara changed the course of the story convincingly. I am not sure how Lashkara is doing in terms of popularity or ratings because I don’t actually follow the related pages but I totally believe if there’s one drama that actually deserves appreciation as well as recognition, it is Lashkara, because it has all the elements that make it worth watching like good story, amazing characters, flawless acting & direction!
Well, Nikki played her part well & did everything that snatched away Bubbly’s happiness, peace of mind & most importantly her position in that house as well as her respect in Nasreen’s eyes. Sunny was just doing what he thought Bubbly was telling him to do. I seriously feel for Sunny a lot, he had already been in hot waters because of his love for Bubbly & once again he lost literally everything – from his pigeons that he was so passionate about to now his freedom which he is entitled to. Sunny was just being impulsive & he thought things through but all in wrong direction & it was sad seeing him & Bubbly falling prey to Nikki & ending up becoming her victims!
I really hope Nikki wasn’t in love with Sunny in the past & seeing his love for Bubbly, she developed this hatred for her? This could be a possibility behind this resentment that she has towards Bubbly but I am sure there’s more to it. I just got that feeling after seeing her overall behaviour with & towards Akram because it is very clear that she not only doesn’t respect him, she doesn’t love him either. It is too obvious that Akram is more like a burden to her & she just puts up with him unhappily, even though he does exactly what Nikki says to please her but still, she has not given him any status in her life which again brings me to my point that may be she was in love with someone who was in love with Bubbly? Or it could be just on the basis of jealousy? We’ll have to wait & watch.
Well, Sunny reached Bubbly’s house & she just didn’t know what she should do. It took literally 1 sight of Bubbly & Sunny together for Nasreen to believe that Bubbly was guilty of cheating on Feeka. I so wished & assumed that she’d give Bubbly a benefit of doubt but what she saw & heard clouded her judgment. It was sad that Bubbly could not prove her point & she could not really convince Nasreen that she had nothing to do with Sunny. Kulsoom did feel that Bubbly was in trouble but because Muneer thought she was just being paranoid, he brushed her concerns off. May be because Muneer underestimates Kulsoom or fails to see her as the sort of a mother who might be so instinctive, may be that is why he thought it was all in her head, but I liked that situation because no matter what happens or how happy & settled a child may seem, parents are always worried for them & it was depicted perfectly in these episodes.
Nasreen took away everything from Bubbly, she distanced herself from her but even she knew that Bubbly was Feeka’s weak point, she was his life, she meant everything to him & she was all that Feeka ever wanted, that is why she couldn’t do anything to Bubbly. I loved how it was elaborated that Bubbly lost all the confidence she had while Feeka was still fighting for her & taking stands for her. Bubbly despite having such a strong support of her husband couldn’t really take pride in it because she now felt like a culprit every time she faced Nasreen. I am glad that Bubbly chose to fight Nikki, even though she didn’t say anything to Nasreen, she just knew that Nikki was responsible for everything that happened & kept on reminding Nikki that she will face the consequences for all that she has done. Even though Nasreen left Bubbly because of Feeka, I so hope Feeka doesn’t doubt Bubbly ever because she won’t be able to handle it & most importantly how Feeka will react to it is another story!
I liked how in the middle of such a complicated situation, they gave us those cute Feeka Bubbly moments where they were just being newly weds, totally in love with each other. It was heart breaking to see that sadness & that fear in Bubbly’s eyes because she wanted to cry for help but was too scared to harm Feeka with the truth. It was phenomenally elaborated that Bubbly kept on sinking in depression because she now had to put up an act in front of Feeka that everything was alright but in reality it was not. Bubbly also had to live in fear that it would take only 1 statement from Nikki & it will ruin her life. I want to see how Bubbly will fight all this because I am sure she is capable of doing that!
I can’t wait for the upcoming episodes. Saba Hameed, Mohsin Abbas Haider, Imran Ashraf & Ushna Shah have made this drama what it is & Saba Faisal, Noor ul Hassan & the actors playing the roles of Nikki & Akram have supported them phenomenally as well. The way they have elaborated the emotions is beyond amazing because while watching them you actually understand what they are going through. Everyone associated with this team has done an amazing job. I will commend the writer & director for bringing in those fractions of reality on screen in such a convincing manner because if you actually take a general look at the overall story & setting of this drama, you do feel it is a bit far from reality which actually makes it a fantastic drama material. Lashkara is just amazing. Please share your thoughts!

Six Quit Patari After CEO Accused Of Harassment Allegedly Reinstated
Earlier this year when Patari’s CEO Khalid Bajwa was accused of harassment the company was quick to make him step down from his position but as it turns out his involvement in the company was just the same. The audit concluded yesterday as a result of which six core members have left the company following allegations that former CEO Khalid Bajwa was still heading the company despite resignation confirmation.
The interim CEO, Ahmer Naqvi, who was appointed a few hours after Bajwa apparently stepped down took to social media to share that him, along with five other essential members have decided to resign from Patari.
Naqvi penned,
“It is with great sadness that we, the undersigned, resign from Patari. It is a company where we can no longer work freely under the values that brought us to it – and which are now under threat,”
He went on to address that amid the harassment allegations, Patari swiftly asked Bajwa to resign and an audit to assess the accusation started.
“Earlier this year, the emergence of harassment allegations against Khalid Mubasher Bajwa led to him stepping down as CEO. We acted swiftly to keep the company afloat, and to protect its moral standing,”
He added,
“While we waited for this audit to complete, all trust within the company was destroyed. Members of the company’s leadership, namely Mr Bajwa along with co-founders Faisal Sherjan and Humayun Haroon, violated the company’s governance, undermined ongoing projects, and threatened the roles of the company’s management.”
He then asserted that Bajwa continued his role as the CEO, even though he was asked to step down.
“An internal meeting made clear that some of the co-founders thought Mr Bajwa had been unfairly victimised, and that there was no room for some employees, including many of the undersigned, to remain in the company,”

Ishq Tamasha Episode 16 And 17 Review-Tamasha!
At this point the drama is not at all about Ishq, only Tamasha is left. It is difficult to understand which direction are the writer and director going. The whole Murad scene went down the drain by itself when Rushna’s family got robbed. Apparently, he was risking his life by marrying Rushna to get the dowry. And no dowry resulted in no marriage. But things became so stupid after it that I cannot even understand.
Mehrab wants revenge for his brother’s death and he planned to marry Rushna in order to achieve his goal. But as the title suggests, everything is going to be a Tamasha. Rushna told her mother about the Mehrab proposal. Mehrab came and finalize the marriage and then came by himself on the day of Nikkah. Yes, I was thinking that since this family has no brain so they might be taking all this to be normal. But NO! the mother and khala found it to be fishy. And acknowledged it after the ceremony. Mujhe to ye chakkar hi samajh nahin aa raha are your thoughts and you still married off your daughter to that “chakkar”. And the whole family knows Mirha went with Mehrab but they still married their daughter to him. Wahaj had no questions or complaints now? Why is he not bothering to ask ke bhai issi gharr ki larkiyon ke pechay kyun parr gaye ho? He was embracing him after Nikkah. Maybe the makers forgot among all the chaos that Rushna family thinks of Mehrab as the guy who has an affair with Mirha.
I think by the end of this drama I’ll be on phupho’s side. At least she looks somewhat logical. She hates the family who is responsible for Arham’s death and has not forgotten it. Mirha after all the drama is still in the house and bossing everyone around. Maybe Aiman has a supporting role in this drama since her character has nothing to offer.
And if all this Tamasha was not enough, we will be having Palwasha’s drama too now. Its high time though that chachi jaan accepts that her own children have the tendency towards affairs kyunki abb buss choti wali bachi hai which makes Mirha much too innocent.
What do you guys think of Mehrab and Rushna’s marriage and the family’s normal reaction towards it? Share in the comments!
Main Khayal Hoon Kisi Aur Ka Episode 2 Review-Surprising!
Main Khayal Hoon Kisi Aur Ka started at a rapid pace but I must admit, I was not expecting these many surprises already. We all saw the sudden engagement of Daniya and Armaan while Zaryab was pining for his lost love. The second episode featured the marriage ceremony of the two while Zaryab was crying in different corners.
Zaryab actually is a coward. Yes, the concept is that he is Ahsanon Talay Daba Larka and for this very reason he did not respect his love enough. But he should have given a thought to Armaan’s feelings. How could he do this to Armaan whom he loves more than anyone? Since the whole Islamabad is familiar with Zaryab and Daniya’s affair, why he didn’t think of the fact that someone will tell Armaan eventually? Daniya was also a very unreasonable person. She was begging Zaryab to do something on her mehendi. She could have tried a bit earlier or the simple way out was to talk it out with Armaan. Armaan told her how much he loves Zaryab, so Daniya should have told him the truth. But well, then there would be no drama.
Armaan knew about the situation suddenly after bringing Daniya home. The funny thing is they got Nikkahfied in the morning but reached their home at night. He was as quick in taking decisions as his brother is slow. Instead of handling everything like a mature person, he divorced Daniya. He didn’t even discuss it with Zaryab before taking such a huge step.
The whole situation after the divorce was very confusing. Daniya was going to tell her father about the divorce then why did she hide it in the first place? And why was the newly divorced couple acting so normally at it? The performances were weak in this episode. Many scenes could have looked powerful but the actors could not engage the audience. Alamdar looked so robotic in the divorce scene. Even Hareem was not at her full potential.
This was only the second episode so the performances might get better ahead. The story is fast paced which is refereshing. What are your thoughts on the quickest divorce in the dramas history? Share in comments!
Jeevan Daan: An Intense Collab Between Saba Qamar And Shuja Haider!
A single word explanation of the collab between Saba Qamar and Shuja Haider is that the video is simply “INTENSE”. Our society has diverged from its path long ago. With the issues of patriarchy, oppression and abuse so common in the society, we have finally started talking about it. Shuja Haider and Saba Qamar have also come out with a video highlighting all these flaws in our society. Saba as always has done her part t perfection and Shuja’s voice makes the experience more emotional. The child actors in the video have done a fabulous job too. Here is the video of Jeevan Daan:
Previously we saw Saba and Shuja working together on the title song of Baaghi and this time it is Jeevan Daan. It is an intense experience and ends on a positive note coated with hope and courage.

Pukaar Episode 24 – Review!
Ohkay so, this episode of Pukaar took the story forward a great deal & with the preview I am guessing this was the second last episode of this drama. I’d be ecstatic if that happens & this drama ends next week but I wish in stead of wasting so much time in the flashbacks, they had utilized that time in giving it a proper closure, as there’s so much left to be taken care of. I can foresee that they might rush with the ended, as usual. I so don’t want Lali & Zamani to get a clean chit in the last 30 seconds of the drama – they need to get punished & we deserve to see them getting punished as we have tolerated their atrocities for so many weeks!!!
Honestly speaking, for me Sarang’s character is the saving grace of this drama, at least he is clear headed & knows what he wants & what he can do. However, I can’t say that about Samra as for me, she is a poorly written character & despite the hard tries of the writer to make her look like a dignified bechari, I don’t see her that way. Samra always gave Fahad a hard time & that did seem alright back then because she was new to this entire system & she questioned everything but then, she lost her voice in front of Laali Ma, the one whom she shouldn’t have surrendered in front of. Samra also seems to be giving Sarang a hard time even after knowing how things are hard for him too, but then in stead of helping the situation she is trying to look all egoistic in front of him by telling him that she didn’t need him while eventually ending up relying on him? Didn’t in a weak moment she decide to get married to him to get that social & emotional security that she felt Sarang was capable of extending towards her, then why all of a sudden she decided to come up with all these conditions before she signed the marriage contract with him?
Samra to me seems confused, obviously she felt like she was betraying Fahad & was being disloyal to him but then again, it was Samra herself who decided to go ahead & accept Sarang’s proposal not strictly for her security but also because she did develop some feelings for him along the way, but she was just being a snob to admit what she actually feels. Also, I must say that I really appreciate the editors for relying so much on all those flashbacks & those prolonged slow-mo close-ups with the OST running in the background because I forward them & the 40 minute episode cuts down to 15 minute episode & I honestly recommend this technique to all the viewers who want to make this drama bearable & its episodes easy to sit-through!
Well, Sarang couldn’t say no to anything that Samra demanded before getting married because he just wanted her comfort & ease, but all this while I was wondering how could the writer show such a Nikkah taking place because a Nikkah done with the intention of a divorce in the future is invalid right from the beginning. Well, looks like our writers take pride in twisting the basic concepts of Islam, so what else can be expected from them!
The Haveli scenario seemed pretty boring, especially after seeing Samra & Sarang in a different setting. I will say that the way Amna was being tortured was hilarious, matlab itni aged khatoon ko aisi saza? Anyways, I expected better from Tashfeen, this is what I have been saying from the beginning but she doesn’t disappoint me by stooping to new lows every single time. The way she has teamed up with Laali goes to show how weak & insecure she is, so nothing good should & can be expected from her, another wasted character!
Sarang came up with a well-thought out plan & went ahead with it because it guaranteed Samra & Qasim’s safety. Sarang knew that if he’ll take Samra back to the Haveli, he & even Samra will never be granted a chance to explain themselves & Sarang will never be allowed to let everyone know that he is not a threat to anyone there. Sarang said exactly what Sultan wanted to hear because he knew this will keep Sultan from harming Samra, Sarang & even Amna. I really like how Sarang’s character has been written by the writer, he knows his game & is quite intelligent because he tackled the entire situation the best way possible!
The episode ended on a high note but I am still not convinced with Samra. Yes, it was awkward for her to get married & even more awkward to become Sarang’s wife just like that but if she has seen the kind of man he is & if she even smiles at the thought of him being a good husband & a father, she should have just let everything unworded, without bringing those conditions in between because Sarang is a gentleman & he would have treated her with utmost respect even if she hadn’t demanded it from him. Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Pukaar.

Visaal Episode 14 Review – Con Meets Con!
Ohkay so, another very interesting episode of Visaal but I feel the pace has been slowed down but I am not complaining. I hope this slow pace doesn’t slow down the progress that the story has made so far because the way every episode has a twist in it keeps me engaged & makes me look forward to the next episode. Here’s to hoping that, that doesn’t change & this drama stays interesting as it is!
Akku changed his look again, because he wants to stay hidden & doesn’t want the police to recognize him, but again, I am surprised that no one has told Molvi Ghufran about the look & get up that Akram sports when he’s attending the customers at his shop. Everyone is well aware of the fact that Akram Minyani Wala happens to be Molvi Ghufran’s son in law & still his secret is hidden? Doesn’t seem much convincing.
Naheed’s mother’s concerns are right for her daughter’s sake but I feel she is stuck in a rut & is on the loop about how Naheed shouldn’t worry too much about Pari & should focus on Akram Miyan. It seems even she is insecure of the fact that Pari is better than Naheed in every aspect, because even though no one draws a comparison between them but it’s like a done deal that Pari is & has always been everyone’s favorite & because of that she feels threathened that Akram might fall for Pari while still being married to Naheed due to their regular interactions. Ghufran’s wife did somehow convince him that he should let Pari go by getting her married & he couldn’t say no because she was being manipulative about it!
Well, finally the con met another con. Akram reached to a conclusion that it was Naheed who did everything, like left a letter for Taimur & ruined Pari’s life but as expected, his reaction was not the usual one where he went & confronted Naheed, rather he took his sweet time in solving the puzzle & getting to the crux of the situation as to what must have forced Naheed to do such a thing, that too with her best friend! Akram knows that he had found the secret that he will use to his advantage when the time will come & in stead of speaking to her directly, he chose to leave some hints because he wanted to see her reaction to further confirm if he was right or not!
Well, Pari broke down because she could see that people around her were running out of patience & courtesy that they had for her & she eventually ended up doing that shook Naheed’s ground – which was curse her for misfortune. Naheed very well knows that she has called this upon herself that is why she seems unbothered about everything that is happening around her, like she is so not in a mood to fix things between her & Akram, that is why despite the constant reminders from her mother, Naheed is just pre-occupied feeling guilty for ruining Pari’s life!
Akram is the best part of this drama & Zahid Ahmed’s portrayal has taken its level a notch higher. I am sure Akram won’t go easy on Naheed & he will keep on teasing her till he gets a confession from her about what went wrong & why she did all that to ruin Pari’s life, well Akram does know that it might be on the basis of jealousy but then, he will keep on guessing till he actually hears everything from Naheed! I’m honestly loving this play, it sure is one of the best one among those on air. The direction is perfect, the editing, story, characters & acting – everything works in perfect harmony & makes Visaal a complete entertainment package. All the actors as well as supporting actors should be very very proud of themselves for giving us viewers a successful drama because they all make Visaal what it is. Please share your thoughts.
Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.
Zun Mureed Episode 18 Review – Meaningful As Usual
Zun Mureed is one of my favorite shows which I always look forward to watching and reviewing. It is one of those very few shows which are discussed in our house because it has so much to offer and gives you so many different perspectives. Apart from many other strong, important and positive messages my most favorite part is that the writer has repeatedly reasserted the fact that a strong and independent woman doesn’t have to hate a man in order to prove that she can survive on her own. The writer has also shown that even the strongest of women feel like giving up sometimes and they are equally capable of being heartbroken. A strong woman can love a man and compromise for him but she also knows when to take a stand for herself. I absolutely love all these beautiful messages which this drama is giving in a very intelligent manner. Although the pace of this drama has slowed down and there are certain things which can be highly repetitive but with every episode, there are some changes in all the tracks and the conversations are always meaningful and deep. Every episode gives an insight into the mindset of different characters and those factors which shape up their personalities.
Tonight’s episode opened with Tabbasum calling Sajjad so that she could talk to her son Bobby and know how he was doing. Her son’s refusal to talk to her came as yet another rude shock. Bobby has always been shown as an impulsive and emotional child who expects more from his parents than his sister. You can’t help feeling for these kids every time you see them struggling with their circumstances. Fari continues to play an important rule in making sure that Tabbasum doesn’t lose her perspective. She keeps on making Tabbasum understand things and also suggests what she should do. Tabbasum’s bhabhi mind games are getting annoying now and at this point she shouldn’t be getting so much screen time. Even though every time she has a different issue with the sisters but her track is going around in circles and the fact that she does whatever she can to make life tough for Tabbasum has been well established therefore it would have been better if her scenes were chopped down. Sajjad stubbornness has reached such an extent that he is convinced that a maid can run a house better than Tabbasum! Sajjad’s conversations with his friend were one of the many meaningful conversations in this episode. There is absolutely no change in him for obvious reasons and after watching this episode, it seems highly unlikely that he will get a wake up call anytime soon! Sajjad’s only focus right now is to teach Tabbasum a lesson, he couldn’t care less about anyone or anything else! Omair Rana continues to be faultless as an unreasonable and rigid man.
Abid’s character has completely changed and as a result Mariam’s life is very different now. She has to deal with all the things which Tabbasum had to deal with once yet she always called her brother a Zun Mureed. What is happening to Mariam right now is the perfect example of what goes around comes around. It looks like Mariam will eventually realize how wrong she was when her husband abuses her mentally and physically the way Sajjad did. Few weeks back it was impossible to imagine that Abid’s character will take this turn. Khalid Anum and Hina Bayat both are playing their roles brilliantly. These characters have been crucial to the plot so far and they will most likely play a much bigger role in the upcoming episodes.
Tabbasum and Sidra’s conversation was my favorite part of this episode. Everything that they talked about was relevant and on point. This is what we should be highlighting in our dramas and this is what the girls need to hear. Sidra’s plan and the fact that she chose Tabbasum to implement it went to show what an intelligent woman she is. Nadia Khan’s acting has grown on me and Tabbasum’s character has been etched-out so beautifully that it is easy to ignore the shortcomings in her performance.
The preview of the next episode showed how Rubina, the maid is running Sajjad’s house and everyone’s reaction when Tabbasum gets the notice of divorce. Zun Mureed never fails to impress and with the exception of a few scenes which could have been chopped down, this episode was perfect.

Haraa Dil Episode 12 Review — Typical
After all the praise I have bestowed upon this show for having a unique and fresh take on second marriages here we are back to the typical Cinderella step mom routine. It was so disappointing to watch writers resort back to the step mom playing the bad guy story arc but anyway here we are. Now that the secret is out Fehmi wants nothing more than to live with Abrar in his house as his wife since he has no excuse anymore. Abrar is hesitant in the beginning owing to the fact that it’s still new to his daughters and he found it fit to give his daughters some time before they can make peace with this reality but before he could do that he was informed that Fehmi is in hospital because her house was robbed.
By the looks of it the whole robbery thing was Fehmi’s own creation because as a result of this robbery Abrar is forced to take Fehmi to his home as she was injured and couldn’t live alone at her place. Naturally Momina and Abeer are hysterical when they see Fehmi in their house and we see a lot of arguments where harsh things are said back and forth and we can clearly see Abrar struggling between his daughters and Fehmi. So far Abrar looks inclined towards Fehmi because the way his daughters are mistreating Fehmi Abrar finds himself responsible for putting her in a position like this and that guilt is making him do everything that Fehmi wants.
On Arham’s front we see Afaan have a heart to heart conversation with Arham where he tells Arham that he can not support Arham’s decision of marrying Momina anymore because he is disappointed in Abrar. This doesn’t really make much sense even if Abrar has been indifferent towards Afaan lately Momina isn’t just Abrar’s daughter she is a separate individual. Even if Afaan thinks Abrar has married the wrong woman it has nothing to do with Momina so making her suffer by not letting Arham marry her makes no sense whatsoever.
To put another twist in this already messy situation Momina and Arham attend the wedding of a mutual friend but accompanying Arham is Fizza courtesy (yes you guessed it right) Amtul. Momina isn’t shocked or rattled or taken aback much as if everything that has happened and is still happening in her world has made her immune to the unexpected, nothing surprises her anymore. Arham is clearly uncomfortable because he wasn’t expecting Momina will be at the wedding and he surely didn’t expect he would have to take Fizza with him to the wedding.
Fizza’s character can be so unbearably annoying at times, she doesn’t talk, walk or act like someone who has spent most of her life in west and we have reasons to expect more typicality on this front as well. Fizza will be acting like a conventional desi raqeeb and creat more misunderstandings between Arham and Momina so she can have Arham for herself.
So far watching Afaan and Abrar have this beautiful friendship where both of them had each other’s backs was very refreshing and it will be thoroughly missed. Amidst all these emotionally charged situations and characters they were the only voice of reason their rationality will be thoroughly missed as well.
Over all the pace is still commendable but the plot not so much. Arham and Momina our protagonists continue to suffer, how long will this ordeal last is what we are here to find out so stay tuned.

Bela Pur Ki Dayan Last Episode – Perfect Ending!
This last episode of Bela Pur Ki Dayan was happening as well as satisfying! There were no loose ends and in the end Aziz was punished for his mistakes not by the court but by the Dayan herself! There was a time when both versions of the story seemed real but by the end it was quite clear that Aziz was guilty therefore although it was shocking to hear that he single-handedly killed everyone in the family but his confession put all the speculations to rest. After knowing the truth he lost all the respect in the eyes of his family members and ended up being killed by the same person who he always looked down upon. It would have been wrong if Wajdan and Tasha were killed by the Dayan as well therefore it was good to see them alive in the end. Aziz got the kind of ending he deserved which is why this ending was complete in every way! The Dayan got her revenge and the last scene of the episode in which Rameez handed over the keys to Rehmat was endearing.
Bela Pur Ki Dayan was one of the best horror shows we have seen on Pakistani television. It was intriguing, scary and mysterious. It isn’t very often that a horror show has a strong plot which is executed faultlessly too. Inam Hasan’s script kept the viewers wondering right till the last minute of the finale. The first scene of this drama promised a ride which was going to be thrilling and unpredictable and it never disappointed. Bela Pur Ki Dayan wouldn’t have been so impressive if it wasn’t for Saife Hassan’s skillful direction and Amar Khan’s faultless performance throughout was one of the best aspects of this drama. Saife Hassan directed the horror scenes brilliantly, each one these scenes highlighted his creativity and hard work. The background score was always on point and used intelligently throughout. Amar Khan owned her role completely as Neelo and as the Dayan and never failed to impress. Sarah Khan made her presence felt in a role which didn’t always get a lot of screen time but was crucial to the plot. Shahjahan Rana performed exceptionally well as young Aziz and Rashid Farooqui nailed his role as usual. Ismat Zaidi’s character was sweet and likable but quite sadly she disappeared suddenly and didn’t get any screen time for many weeks. Osama Tahir also did complete justice to his character even when his character didn’t have a lot to offer, he performed well. The actor playing Gainda’s role was exceptional in Sammi and he performed superbly in this drama as well. Umer Naru and Irfan Khoosat both were remarkable as Rehmat.
I am so glad I chose to watch and review this play. I would like to thank everyone involved for giving us quality entertainment which was also different in many ways. A special thank you to all those wonderful people who read the reviews and participated in the discussions every week. I will miss Bela Pur Ki Dayan!
