Her life is about to change and she will be seen a lot more. However, Farhad and Mahi have had very few and limited scenes together, therefore not a lot can be made of their chemistry. However, the audience is loving the intensity behind the emotion of love that Farhad has for Mahi and that is turning out to be one of the defining factors of Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3. It will be interesting to see whether Farhad and Mahi will ever come together or have more scenes in the upcoming episodes, however, they have definitely become popular as an on-screen couple because of Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3.
Faysal Qureshi & Hiba Bukhari (Fitoor)
Faysal Qureshi and Hira Bukhari also joined hands for their project Fitoor. The cast of this drama is different and has not been seen working together before. The story of Fitoor is a bit on the typical side but the equation that Dilnasheen and Haider share makes it worth watching. Hiba Bukhari and Faysal Qureshi are playing more or less the similar kind of roles that they have done before but the overall treatment of their couple, as well as their dynamic, makes it interesting. Dilnasheen definitely knows how to fight for her rights and Haider is making sure that he doesn’t do anything to deprive his wife of the rights she has on him. Bahawalpur is known as the City of Palaces, therefore the new construction and facade of the building resemble the look of the palaces to pay tribute to the palaces that are within the vicinity of Bahawalpur. The construction of the new building started off in 2017 and was completed and inaugurated by September 2019. There is no denying the fact that the aerial shots of the Bahawalpur Railway Station are breathtaking and add more visual charm to the drama. At this location, Iqra Aziz, Sunita Marshal, Feroze Khan and Mirza Zain Baig have shot a couple of scenes.
Rida’s House (Karachi)
Mahi’s friend Rida’s character has been played by Meherbano. She happens to be the daughter of Nisar, the character played by Javaid Sheikh. They have shot this entire sequence in the old city of Lahore. All the scenes of Farhad and his family, played by Feroze Khan, Asma Abbas, Waseem Abbas, Hira Soomro as well as those frames where he is seen roaming in the narrow residential streets are all shot in the old city Lahore. Mahi’s Residence (Bahawalpur)
The house in which Mahi is shown to be living with her family is actually a palace in the city of Bahawalpur. The name of it is Gulzar Mahal which was built in 1906 and its construction was completed in 1909. It was constructed during the reign of Sadiq Mohammad Khan and was built for the female members of the royal family. This palace has been leased by the armed forces since 1966 and is not open to the general public. However, a part of it was allotted to the production team of Khuda Aur Mohabbat and that is where all the scenes of Mahi and her family are shot. It is a beautiful structure and there is no denying the fact that just as much as the interiors are beautiful, the exterior is mesmerizing and looks magical on-screen. Both the male and female sections of the palace which have been shown in Khuda Aur Mohabbat are absolutely beautiful.
The Shrine (Multan)
The series of Khuda Aur Mohabbat is also incomplete without the touch of spirituality to it. In the previous seasons they relied on simple and humble mosques to bring in that element but this time around, the director wanted to add more visual impact therefore he picked the iconic Tomb of Shah Rukn e Alam which is located in Multan. The structure is not only beautiful but has so much detail to it that it leaves you spellbound. The tomb belongs to Shah Rukne Alam an eminent Sufi saint, who was the son of Pir Sadar al Din Arif. He was born in Multan on 26 November 1251 and died on 3 January 1335. He was the grandson and successor of Sheikh Baha ud din Zakariya. The tomb was built between 1320 and 1324 CE in the pre-Mughal architectural style. The tomb is said to have built by Ghias-ud-Din Tughlak. This tomb is revered and sees thousands of visitors every year. Drama serial Ishq Jalebi was another Ramadan play that became immensely popular and was loved by the masses. Madiha Imam and Wahaj Ali played the leading characters of Bella and Basim. Usama Khan and Maryam Noor were also a part of the play. But we must accept the fact that Qavi Khan’s performance as Bao Ji, Noor Hassan’s Performance as Ashiq Hussain, and Irsa Ghazal’s performance as Sajo, side-lined everyone else.
Unlike all other Eid dramas, Ishq Jalebi was 34 episodes long play and had its last episode on the 4th day of Eid. In the end, everyone had a happy ending. Basim and Bella finally got Nikkah-fied. Viki finds Sofiya and Eesha finds Gulfam. Both the Bao Ji’s sons decided to live with their father and Bao Ji finally got his family back.

Ohkay so, this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat practically had nothing to offer except the fact that it was an elaboration of the misery inflicted on all those who were mourning the loss of Farhad. At this point, I am not too sure of what to feel about the pacing of the drama because each passing episode turns out to be slower than the previous one. The preview of the next episode did excite me because Mahi’s life is about to change but then it makes me wonder how long her misery will be prolonged & stretched? As much as the performances of all the actors are convincing, I fail to form a connection with them & this has probably not happened before but when it comes to Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3, I do enjoy watching the actors & their performances but when it comes to the characters, there’s not much to take away.
& The Mourning Continues
In this episode, even Rida was seen blaming herself for everything that Farhad went through. As much as I do understand why Mahi is feeling this way, I really wish she was not made to go through this because she is not at fault, to begin with. Farhad was the one who really misconstrued the whole situation. I really feel like this is all that I get to think & feel when I watch the episodes of Khuda Aur Mohabbat because it is unfortunate that the director failed to justify the intense feelings Farhad developed for Mahi. Considering how the director has taken his sweet time in elaborating each & every detail & emotion related to Farhad felt by all the characters, it is sad that he did not make the most of this relationship to at least allow it to look justifiable as to how & why Farhad reacted the way he did. Mahi is going to suffer for something she wasn’t even responsible for.
In this episode, Sahiba was seen giving Mahi the pep-talk & reminding her of all the burdens she carried on her shoulders & all the labels that were attached to her just because she belonged to this family, which again brings me to my point that why wasn’t this sort of conversation shown between Sahiba & Mahi when they both were in Lahore & Sahiba could see Mahi behaving recklessly. The start of the drama now seems a lot shakier because it makes me wonder about all the golden opportunities lost which otherwise would’ve helped in creating the impact & to add depth to the story. There is no denying the fact that the production value & the association of star cast is what is turning out to be the success factors for Khuda Aur Mohabbat but when it comes to the storytelling, there are a lot of flaws.
Farhad’s family is devastated, his mother, his sister, his brother & now even his father feels hurt because of the way he treated Farhad. Those scenes were definitely quite emotional but seemed a bit too prolonged to keep me engaged. Dilawar is the only person who is acting as a support system to Farhad’s family because he is also deeply affected by what has happened to him.
In this entire episode, the only interaction I found interesting was between Sikandar & Romana. It seems Sikandar’s mother was aware of his activities & after he lost his wife, she allowed Sikandar to have things his way. The conversation where Romana explained everything that Sikandar went through & how he went about his life was conveyed beautifully. I also found the element of respect between Sikandar & Romana quite endearing. She truly looks up to him & is deeply in love with him. Sikandar also feels that way but he is well aware of the background Romana comes from & the kind of values his mother holds, therefore he has not really made any promises. The fact that Romana knows that he only comes there to divert his mind also showed the level of understanding she has when it comes to Sikandar & his affairs. It is interesting how this sidetrack is turning out to have the potential of being a lot more engaging than what it seemed in the previous episode.
Looking Forward To The Next Episode
The preview of the next episode suggested that Farhad’s bad-dua will be materialized & Taimoor will die. I will say that Mirza Zain Baig is such an amazing actor, it would be so nice if he gets substantial roles in dramas. I remember the character of Saim also passed away in Meer Abru & now in Khuda Aur Mohabbat Taimoor, played by him is also not going to make it. Sad because he has the kind of screen presence that as a viewer, you enjoy watching his character on screen. Mahi already seemed numb & with all of this happening, she would know that Farhad was actually hurt!?!?! Once again, the more I feel for Mahi, the more I find Farhad unreasonable, only because the director did not go into detail while establishing their relationship. Mahi will now live with the guilt that she turned Farhad away & because of her Taimoor also passed away. Sad & uncalled for. Anyways, all the characters deserve full points for giving convincing performances, I just wish the pacing of Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 wasn’t this slow. I must say, Sunita Marshal & Tooba Siddique looked stunning in this episode & the entire Mehndi setup was grand & beautiful. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3.
