It was a heavy formal outfit which was made out of self-printed and embossed fabric. The bustier of the shirt was enhanced with silver embroidery and the neckline had a button studded detail. The sleeves were long and fitted which gave it an elegant look. The dupatta also had a studded detail with the similar color scheme border which tied the entire dress together. She wore it with a flared palazzo and kept her own styling and makeup minimal, which showed she wanted this dress to do the talking.

Shahista Lodhi was a breath of fresh air in this all white ensemble designed by Omar Sayeed. Shahista Lodhi has been a regular on TV this Ramzan and she has made sure to explore and experiment more wearing different silhouettes. This one was an effortless look that she went for and the way she draped her dupatta showed she was totally invested in the spirit of the game. Tuba Amir has been making an appearance of TV alongside her husband during the month of Ramzan and she has also put in some effort to celebrate the spirit of the Holy month. Tuba Amir picked up this beautiful and elegant looking shirt gharara from Beats Pakistan. It was a white mirrored shirt with embroidery all around it. The gharara and dupatta were a beautiful pastel shade of yellow. The dupatta had a silver lace to it which matched the mirrored embellishment of the shirt. Ushna Shah made a couple of appearances on TV this Ramzan. She not only enjoyed herself but put in some effort as well. Ushna Shah wore this beautiful shalwar kameez designed by Rizwan Beyg with a combination that is bound to look good. It was an all white based shirt with blue heavy and bold embroidery over it. A simple solid colored shirt and trousers made with fabric which has a richness to it. The main design element of this ensemble is the chiffon dupatta which has ruffled stitching detail at the borders. A simple solid colored dress never looked this good.

Shahista Lodhi picked up this design by Omar Sayeed. This is a modern take on the classic and vintage gharara and this version absolutely works. Shahista Lodhi wore a white short embroidered shirt and white chiffon dupatta with it, but the main article in this outfit was the denim gharara which set it apart and gave it a fun and casual chic look. A nice design inspiration for young girls.

Neelam Munir kept it simple and stylish when she picked up this beautiful creation of Rozina Munib. It was a long shirt and trousers with a sleek design and look to it. Due to coronavirus, all the shooting projects have been postponed because it requires a large number of people in a team to handle everything on the set. Jeeto Pakistan changed the game set-up according to the situation. There is no audience to cheer the contestants. Five different teams are competing against each other, five captains are supporting their respective teams.

Yumna Zaidi first drama of this season was Pyar Kay Sadqay, which is loved to bits by the audience. The second drama starring Yumna Zaidi is Raaz-e-Ulfat. When the drama started hopes were high from Yumna as she is already starring in a block buster project.
Raaz-e-Ulfat started with the story of a house hold which is badly influenced by the “ABBA FACTOR”. A father who is very strict and insanely punctual. Whose daughters are extremely scared from him and when one of his daughter (Yumna) joins university for higher studies encounters a different life. She idealizes the life of her friend who is living a life free from any diminution totally opposite to the caged life of Mushk (Yumna Zaidi). A dashing hero (Shehzad Sheikh) encountered the heroine accidentally and fell for her in the first sight. And now Mushk is also feeling butterflies in her stomach as this is the fresh breeze of air for Mushk in such a strict life where she is not allowed to breath freely.
Well we are looking forward to this story and hope it will be an impactful drama that will address the audience about any important issue of society.

There were just so many things unresolved and perhaps that’s what has been bothering Ayeza as well. Recently a fan on Twitter questioned Ayeza Khan something and her response made us long for the same.
In response to a fan’s tweet asking if she wanted to work with Hamza Ali Abbasi again, the Meherposh actress replied that she wished she could have a sequel of Pyaray Afzal.
“I wish we could make Pyaray Afzal 2,” tweeted Ayeza.
The story really has taken a new turn but not one which I was expecting it to take. The best thing about Pyar Ke Sadqay so far has been the convincing and refreshing storyline. None of the characters or the scenarios so far have been conventional. It seems however that Pyar Ke Sadqay will also turn in to a love triangle in which one man has to choose who he wants to be with. I really hope that is not the case but the recent shift in the story suggested just that. I felt for Mahjabeen while watching this episode, just when Abdullah started accepting their relationship, Shanzay came back into his life. Yumna Zaidi and Bilal Abbas‘ performances continue to be impressive. This episode was also well-executed but the recent shift in the story was extremely unpleasant.
Shanzay Is Back
I never disliked Shanzay’s character not even when she told Abdullah off because clearly Abdullah wouldn’t have been a suitable life partner for her. The advice she gave Abdullah was not conveyed in a nice way but there was nothing wrong with what she suggested because actually Mahjabeen is the perfect match for him. Tonight however everything she did showed that she was a selfish person who had learned absolutely nothing from her wannabe punk fiancé’s toxic personality traits! Shanzay’s track has made no sense in the past few weeks. The viewers were not shown why and how Shanzay ended up with someone like Esa since she always knew what kind of a man she wanted to marry. She was shown as a confident and outspoken girl therefore there was no reason for her to settle for someone who put her down constantly.
In this episode, she explained to her father that she didn’t see through Esa. This explanation did not work for me at all since he had started showing his true colors before marriage but somehow Shanzay only shared her concerns with her father after she got married to him. The overall look of the actor playing Esa’s role is absolutely terrible, he needs some serious grooming himself. If this truly was a really classy looking man it would have been easy to understand that he managed to ‘fool’ Shanzay. So after realizing what it feels like to be belittled, she has decided to flirt with another woman’s husband…how sad is that!!
I am also terribly disappointed with Abdullah but at least his reactions definitely make sense. Abdullah was completely blown away by Shanzay and he had just started feeling attracted towards Mahjabeen. Even though he got married to Mahjabeen, it was only something he did to prove to Shanzay that he managed to find someone who needed him more than he needed her. Mahjabeen is to Abdullah what Abdullah was to Shanzay, the only big difference is that they are married now! Sarwar also played a major role in giving Abdullah the hope that he can still get married to Shanzay. We have seen right from the beginning that Sarwar exercises great control over Abdullah therefore it makes perfect sense that he listened to him instantly and ran to see Shanzay. The kind of welcome he got was completely unexpected, more than ever now he is convinced that he is likable and can perhaps have Shanzay in his life. Right now it seems like Shanzay is lonely and she is using Abdullah. She is not even bothered about how all this will impact Abdullah and Mahjabeen’s marriage.
Abdullah was too busy worrying about Shanzay and putting Mahjabeen down in this episode. The difference between Mahjabeen and Shanzay is obvious – you do understand why Abdullah who fell for someone like Shanzay would find it difficult to fall in love with Mahjabeen.
Poor Mahjabeen
Mahjabeen was the real victim tonight who has been doing whatever it takes to make her marriage work yet she is now facing a situation that is beyond her control. Mahjabeen’s innocence is the most appealing aspect of this drama. Her main goal in life is to please her husband, she has no idea what and who she is up against. When Mahjabeen heard Shanzay calling Abdullah her best friend, her reaction was too cute. She is clearly possessive about her husband and can sense when someone is doing something that is not right!
Later on, Abdullah told her off more than once, he was a completely different person right from the time he came back home. In the morning, he was quite happy with Mahjabeen but after meeting Shanzay and being brainwashed by Sarwar (rather quickly) his behavior towards Mahjabeen changed altogether. Mahjabeen definitely has a more strong personality than Abdullah. The only hope now is that Washma or Pho will find out about this and knock some sense into Abdullah.
The way Washma told Sarwar off today was satisfying! She really is the only one who sees him for who he actually is. Mansoora and Sarwar once again have gone back to being ‘love birds’. This time around Sarwar did not have the guts to take Mahjabeen out therefore he is more cautious now.
Final Remarks
I am not too happy with where the story is going but I am hoping that the writer will continue to surprise us with another twist which works in Abdullah and Mahjabeen’s favor. Abdullah is easily influenced by Sarwar, he needs someone to guide him in the right direction. Sarwar it seems will team up with Shanzay to get what he wants. While it is understandable why Sarwar is doing all this, I am wondering why Shanzay is looking for an escape in Abdullah! I don’t find this part of the story too convincing. Tonight’s episode was visually pleasing and Mahjabeen’s scenes were cute. Abdullah and Mahjabeen make an amazing on-screen couple, waiting to see their happy ending.

Knowing when to end a drama is just as important as giving it a good start. There are a few Pakistani dramas on air right now that have lost all their appeal because they have been dragged to the extreme. Due to the current situation in the country, shootings of all the upcoming dramas have been halted. It is highly likely that because of this reason, the channels are making the most of the dramas that are already popular among people. Although no one wants to admit it, the way these dramas are being dragged makes it quite clear that the makers are not only cashing in on their success but also ‘buying’ time.
The situation right now is uncertain, no one knows when things will get back to normal therefore the television channels do not want to risk ending up with no dramas to air just in case! It is also true that this is not the first time that Pakistani dramas have been stretched like a rubber band. Few years back, the Pakistani producers chalked out a policy. According to this policy, they decided to air dramas for much longer than was the case previously. The whole idea was that the cost of such dramas would be the same as dramas which ended in 15 weeks or so but the monetary benefits will be more.
It is also a fact that once the viewers get hooked to a drama in the first 12 weeks or so, they will tune in to it every week until it ends whether they like it or not. Viewers criticize the dramas and curse the makers but they do watch these dramas till the end. That is how the producers benefit therefore they have decided to stick to this policy. There are still dramas which end without dragging, thankfully. There are however those dramas too which need to end as soon as possible since they are testing the patience of viewers.
It is of course possible for a drama to be on air for more than 20 or even 30 weeks and continue to hold the viewers’ interest. Pakistani writers definitely lack the creativity to keep the viewers hooked for that long! Usually even the best Pakistani dramas tend to drag and get repetitive after 18 episodes. When a drama gets so monotonous and repetitive even those viewers who praised it at one time start regretting watching the show to begin with.

The flashback scenes have been used extensively to increase the number of episodes. Some of the characters have turned into caricatures and others a laughing stock!
Ye Dil Mera’s progress (or the lack of it) in the past few weeks shows how stretching a drama unnecessarily can ruin everything from the plot to the character development. It has come to the point where everyone wants to see it end, no one even cares how it is going to end! Sajal and Ahad’s magic has even failed to save the day since the story and the execution is lacking on so many levels.
Mera Dil Mera Dushman
Mera Dil Mera Dushman did not get critical acclaim but it has been a hit with the masses. That is why the makers and the channels have decided to stretch it unnecessarily. The drama has been on air for 33 plus weeks, the story has lost its appeal altogether and the characters continue to go through the same situations which they were going through for the past so many weeks.
Clearly, there is nothing left in the story. There are definitely no surprises in-store and it is testing the patience of the viewers every week. Like every other drama in this list, every episode of Mera Dil Mera Dushman can easily be watched in 15 minutes skipping the scenes which add nothing to the story and are extremely annoying! They should end this drama right now.

Yes Jo Tu Chahay is still on air and we have no idea why?!! The 39th episode of this drama aired this week. From family politics to one-sided love, this dramas has all the clichés and done-to-death scenarios. Those of you who are following this drama must be sick and tired of watching the characters struggle and lost for all these weeks. Most people probably gave up on it a long time back! This is not the first time that Hum has dragged a drama with a star cast so much.
Thora Sa Haq
Thora Sa Haq is another drama that is being dragged because it has been extremely popular among the masses. This drama has the most unappealing male lead yet like many other dramas two extremely beautiful but not-so-intelligent women with low self-esteem continue to fight over this man! Like other dramas in this list, the writer has used misunderstandings and unnecessary family politics to lengthen the duration of the drama.
Even those people who had some feelings for the characters before and have lost track of where the story is headed at this point. Even actors like Saba Faisal and Firdous Jamal have been performing unimpressively in the drama because the characters get more pointless and senseless with every passing episode. Everyone watching this play just wants to see it end!

Ertugrul Ghazi’s inspiring and positive characters have played a major role in making it the most-watched drama series in Pakistan right now. It won’t be wrong to say that the main plot of this series revolves around the fight between good and evil. The writer has done an outstanding job of fleshing out some of the most impressive characters which offer variety. There are those characters that have been likable throughout these 18 episodes. Then there are those which keep you guessing. As the story is progressing, we are being introduced to new characters, good and evil. All these characters have plenty of room for growth which keeps the viewers guessing. Some of these characters are perfect, others have their flaws. All of them have a definite screen presence.
The superb performances also play an important role in making these characters some of the best we have seen on Pakistani television. Although Ertugrul Ghazi is a Turkish series, it is not difficult for Pakistani viewers to relate to it. The reasons for that are many. The number one reason is that the series is essentially about the heroes of Islam therefore there is an obvious connection right there. Secondly, much of the family interactions and relationships we see in the series are more human than Turkish! This means that any human no matter what part of the globe they live in who shares the same values will easily be able to relate to them.
Those of the viewers who are watching the series will agree with me that the connection you feel to some of the characters in Ertugrul Ghazi is almost instant. Unlike many of our dramas, this one doesn’t have a single negative character which would even slightly be appealing in any way. The writer, therefore, has ensured that he draws a big line between good and evil. You only root for the characters working for the promotion of the right values and you want to see those plotting against them punished.

There is a good reason why the main protagonist Ertugrul is on top of this list. He is a worthy hero who at times gets frustrated but never gives up. Ertugrul is brave, fearless, just, wise, caring, and romantic. He is often misunderstood by his brother but he never holds that against him. Suleyman Shah
Suleyman Shah is different from his son Ertugrul. He is definitely the wisest character in the play. He knows that his children and tribe look up to him therefore no matter how hurt he is with the betrayal of his brother, he always takes the higher road. You understand why Ertugrul has such strong values looking at how resilient Suleyman Shah is when faced with hardship. He never lets his anger gets the best of him.
Suleyman Shah sense that his younger son Gundogdu felt insecure and unworthy, instead of giving him a lecture, he decided to give him responsibilities which he would usually trust Ertugrul with. He made him feel secure and loved even though he was clearly disappointed in him. There are times when you wish that Suleyman Shah wouldn’t be so forgiving especially when it comes to his brother. But then that is what makes him a better person, someone you truly end up looking up to.
While watching the series Suleyman Shah continues to be the most impressive character. His wisdom often surprises you and you understand how he managed to rule for all these years while keeping his values intact. Serdar Gokhan has played this multilayered character in the best way possible. The soft and gentle expressions on his face always make you root for Suleyman Shah and side with him even when you feel that he is being a little too flexible.
Hayma Khatun
Hayma Khatun is a strong and balanced female character. She has a gentle side but at the same time, there have been so many times when she has been able to see through people the way her husband Suleman Shah couldn’t. A really wise ruler, courageous leader, a supporting wife with a vision, and a supportive mother, Hayma Khatun continues to be a powerful character in the series.
Just like the men in her tribe, she is shown taking up many different roles and excelling in all of them. Apart from all her other duties, she also manages the business run by women in the tribe. She also motivates her people and guides them in times when Suleman Shah is not well. Hülya Darcan has translated the strengths of her character so wonderfully on-screen.
Deli Dameer
Dameer’s role in the series has been vital right from the beginning. He is not just a goldsmith who makes the best weapons but most importantly, he is a loyal friend to Suleman Shah, a mentor to the alps and also someone who is there to guide Suleman Shah’s sons whenever they feel disillusioned. Dameer is also a really wise character. He is sensitive at the same time. His back story is being revealed as the story progresses. This back story definitely makes you fall in love with his character even more.
Dameer’s constant support for Suleman Shah is one of the best aspects of his personality and character. His relationship with his daughter shows what a caring and loving father he is. Dameer has a big heart and a human side which makes him even more appealing. He knows how to differentiate between friends and foes. With years of experience behind him, the advice he gives those he wants to guide sometimes prove to be game-changing.
Mehmet Çevik’s superb performance throughout definitely adds to the appeal of a character which is truly marvelous in more ways than one.
Ibn Arabi
Ibn Arabi is the kind of character which guides not only the characters in the series but in many ways the viewers too. The writer and the actor have done complete justice to this epic character which represents the actual personality of Ibn Arabi with utmost precision. Ibn Arabi’s character shows the actual role of religious figures and Sufis in society. His philosophies are both insightful and enlightening.
Ibn Arabi is someone who can literally look into people by just interacting with them. He has been there for those walking on the right path right from the beginning. When Shahabuddin went to him for advice, everything he said to him was such a good way of letting the audience know that leaving your worldly duties behind to walk on the path of Allah isn’t the best choice. Balancing the two is the best way to live your life.
Osman Soykut, the actor who is playing Ibn Arabi’s character in the drama, has an off-screen persona which is quite different from the way he translated his character on-screen. He looks perfect for the role and he has definitely succeeded in earning the kind of respect which this character truly deserves. Translating a historic character like this one must have been a huge responsibility and he has proven that he was most suitable for doing so.
Halima Sultan
Halima Sultan is even more likable because Esra Bilgiç’s on-screen persona is really appealing. Halima Sultan proved from the beginning that even in captivity she was not afraid of questioning her captors. She is brave as well as skilled in many ways. Without her character, we wouldn’t have seen the romantic side of Ertugrul. Even though she loves Ertugrul but she refuses to leave her brother and father to live a comfortable life with someone she loves. This goes to show that she is a really strong woman who is not afraid of fighting battles alongside the men.
Halima Sultan saved Ertugrul’s life and for now, it remains to be seen where her track will go from here. You root for Halima and Ertugrul and want to see them together.
Bamsi
Bamsi is one of Ertugrul’s three alps. Although all these three alps are extremely likable because they are fearless, experts at what they do and completely loyal to Ertugrul but Bamsi’s character is especially interesting since he adds a comic element to the series. He is the strongest of all the alps, he fights with not one but two swords. But, most of the time he does not even need a sword to kill his enemies but at the same time, he has a child-like personality. He loves to fight and when he finds no one else to fight with Dogan is the one who is always willing to help him practice his fighting skills. Their fights add light-heartedness to even the most serious scenes.
Nurettin Sönmez is so well-suited for Bamsi’s character. He brings out Bamsi’s strength and also his angry outbursts brilliantly on screen. He does especially well with highlighting Bamsi’s innocent side.
Shahabuddin
Shahabuddin joined the series after a few episodes had already gone on air and he is not faultless but there are many reasons why he is likable. He tries his best to guide his nephew and even after getting tired of doing so, he returns to his duties when Ibn Arabi asks him to do so. He makes a few mistakes because of which he is lured into a trap and he ends up paying a price for it. As the story progresses, he becomes more aware of the mistakes he has made and he does not bow down to all the pressure.
Even with his flaws, you find yourself rooting for Shahabuddin and hope that one day he will be out of prison. His track is interesting since it keeps you intrigued and wondering if Al-Aziz will ever see things for what they are. Gökhan Atalay owns these characters completely. Most of the viewers won’t even recognize him if they see him in real life, that is how well he has changed his appearance for looking suitable for the role.
Shehzade Nauman
Shehzade Nauman did not get a lot of screen time but he has shown many of his talents in these past few episodes. He is someone who is upright and even though he has ruled for so long, he is really down-to-earth. Even though he has been struggling for years but he does not believe in giving up. He is also someone who has always been so grateful to the Kayi tribe for giving them protection but he decides to carry on his mission. He is also brave, someone who knows how to protect his family.
Aykiz
Aykis is another positive and strong character in the drama. She is the only one among the leading women from the Kayi tribe, other than Hyma Khatun, who is truly loyal. She welcomed Halima Khatun when she came to the tribe. She loves Turgut and is not afraid to be with someone who is constantly under threat. Her memories help Turgut stay strong while in captivity. Aykis also has a great deal of respect for Ertugrul and is one of the few people who want to see Ertugrul and Halima Sultan together. She also has a playful and fun side. Her character has tons of potential.

However, well-known scholar Mufti Tariq Masood has made shocking claims about people who watch dramas.
He gave his opinion about people who watch dramas and said, “People want entertainment and we don’t have many positive things. By watching dramas no one has chosen the right path.”
“These dramas have earned in billions but it has ruined our culture. People are taking a lot of interest in dramas and even they are crying after watching it.”

This is when the Pakistani viewers assigned themselves the duty of moral and religious police because they started trolling the Turkish stars by commenting on their choice of clothes, their choice of keeping pet dogs and also making impolite comments upon the star’s spouse. For these commenters, it might just be an unsolicited comment that they are passing, but they are forgetting about the fact that it is also going to leave an impression of their country.
The Ertugrul Ghazi star Engin Altan Düzyatan thanked the Pakistani audience for the overwhelming response in terms of popularity that they have given to the series but on the other hand, Pakistani audience are finding it hard to keep their comments civil and not cross the line in the name of criticism. It is unfortunate that the purpose for which the Turkish Series was aired on PTV has been completely lost and the Pakistani viewers have boiled it down to conveniently forgetting about the message by making it all about the actors who have portrayed those characters.
The comments are overflowing which highlight the disappointment of the Pakistani viewers and in stead of talking about the efforts of the real Islamic Heroes from the past, they are only talking about the life of actors who have played these roles. Then there are also those who are insinuating that Pakistanis are coming to pass judgments, which in other words is nothing short of a mockery itself. Very rarely a few decent viewers have tried to undo the damage by posting positive comments but they are nothing in comparison to the negative comments that have already been posted under the Turkish actor’s pictures.
Some decided to bash their own Pakistani countrymen by pointing out the flaws, by resorting to profanity and abusive language. In their perspective, they were doing Turkish stars a favor by defending them and fighting with fellow Pakistanis but when looking at the bigger picture, it just shows that either way, they continued to troll and showed their sense of entitlement to have an opinion by passing final verdicts.
