Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 28 Review – Epic!

Ohkay so, another week, another epic episode of Yakeen Ka Safar. Even though so much happened in this episode & every single character had something going on for them, I felt like I wanted to see more & this episode shouldn’t have ended. The best part in this episode was how it was shown that all the characters learnt from their past mistakes & now they were afraid to repeat those mistakes. The transition that everyone went through was the highlight of this episode for me & I can’t wait to see more.

So, Khajista’s case resurfaced the regret that Asfand & even Usman had for not supporting Daniyal. Asfand worded it perfectly, even though they were dealing with different people, the case was exactly the same where a weak & harmless girl was forced to put up with abuse. At first, I thought that it was Zubiya who changed Asfand’s thinking because when Khajista first came to their hospital, Asfand only treated her as a patient without getting emotionally involved in her case, so I thought may be because Asfand knew what Khajista meant to Zubiya, he decided to fight for her this time, but it wasn’t only because of her. I loved the message that Farhat Ishtiyaq has imparted through this story that in stead of letting your fears get the better of you, you should fight them & no matter what has happened in your past, you shouldn’t let it cloud your judgment for the rest of your life. Usman & Asfand both knew how Daniyal was trying hard to fight that battle singlehandedly & they didn’t support him but now, they learnt from their mistakes & realized it was important for them to help the weak, something that Daniyal was trying to do. Even though Zubiya has also played a part in changing Asfand’s perspective by showing him that it is perfectly alright to treat patients as a family & to feel their pain by getting emotionally involved, but Daniyal was the main driving force which compelled Asfand to bring that change in himself, in his father & in Khajista’s life. Even though Daniyal is no more but his principles, his values & his battle have taught a lifelong lesson to his family. This was the best part of tonight’s episode for me!

All this while I thought Bahadur was just someone who had no control over his emotions & he was deprived of analytical thinking, but the way he bruised Khan’s ego by comparing him with Asfand & telling him about his popularity, in order to save himself showed that he was quite a manipulator & knew exactly how to save himself in grave circumstances!

Another thing I noticed was how Usman received Khan’s phone call. It was the same Usman who got scared when he received Rab Nawaz’s phone call & had no courage to give it back to him, but this time around, Usman banged the phone on Khan’s face, which showed that he was not scared anymore & that he was ready to fight the battle alongside Asfand as he finally understood this is what Daniyal was trying to do, he has realized that fighting for the right is not going to be easy but all he has to do is be courageous & focused to get the weak some justice for all that she went through. I must say even though the conversation that Usman had with Khajista was perfect, like the essence of it was conveyed perfectly where he was trying to tell her that she had to stand up for herself, I felt that it could’ve been worded a bit better, somehow the dialogues were a bit too dramatic yet plain, if that makes sense, but yes, better wording would’ve made an even bigger impact!

So, Rehan finally realized his mistake, obviously it was a slow process, he started feeling guilty but now the burden was getting overbearing that is why he didn’t even wait for the appropriate time & ended up calling Mahjabeen. In order to prove that he really was eager to meet Zubiya, Rehan decided to show up at Mahjabeen’s doorstep because he knew that there was no way she was going to trust him by giving him Zubiya’s information on the phone. Rehan actually has realized how he wronged Zubiya & he seriously wants to make amends. Even though I am sure Zubiya will forgive Rehan, but I am keen to see her reaction.

Dr. Haroon’s proposal to Gaiti was yet another highlight of this episode. Haroon got to share everything that he had in his heart for Gaiti & that somehow moved her a bit. Like Gaiti said, all this while she saw him as a non-serious person who wasn’t sensitive enough to understand what Gaiti’s mind set was but just by telling Gaiti that he himself has gone through the same pain, he himself has experienced what it is like to lose a life partner, he moved her emotionally – those tears & that sympathy on Gaiti’s face said it all!

So, Khan got to see Asfand’s popularity & he realized that it won’t be easy harming him because it would not only put Khan in the spotlight, he could also lose his power, his position because the localites genuinely & sincerely respected Dr. Asfand Yar. Bahadur got arrested & Khan decided to leave the country, showing that he already gave up as he understood that he won’t be able to get away if he touched Dr. Asfand.

I loved the last scene of this episode as well. I loved how it was directed like all the emotions were conveyed beautifully. Asfand sat there & even though he is going through so much, he still had Zubiya on his mind, it shows how much he loves her because while still being pre-occupied, he was thinking of Zubiya only to be reminded of the fact that he was the witness of the worst moment that came into Zubiya’s life. I loved how that entire scene was tied in a sense that there Asfand was, thinking about Zubiya & the next moment, he found out something about her that shook him to no end. Will Asfand feel burdened by Zubiya’s past mistake or will he now understand the reason behind Zubiya’s rejection? Can’t wait to see!

This episode was simply perfect. Even though all the supporting characters got so much of coverage but every single scene, every single scenario was important. All the characters have a major contribution in the story & that is why they make it complete. I must say Hira looked absolutely gorgeous & very graceful in the proposal scene. Also, there was a scene in which all three men; Usman, Dr. Shehroz & Dr. Asfand were in specs, well let’s just say they took specs to a whole new level, lol, very graceful & charming I must say. The preview of the next episode was interesting as well but I’d rather not discuss it, as it will take away the charm of what is yet to come & will request the readers to keep the discussions related to this episode only. Please share your thoughts about this epic episode of Yakeen Ka Safar!

Ahad And Sajal Will Be Seen Together Again!

Ahad and Sajal as Dr. Asfandyar and Dr. Zubiya are currently the most loved couple on screen. Yaqeen Ka Safar is just about to end and fans were a bit disappointed that their favourite couple will not be seen together now. But the good news is both the actors will be working together again in a new play at HUM TV. The drama is named as Aangan.

Ahad And Sajal Will Be Seen Together Again!

It was confirmed earlier that Ahsan Khan and Mawra Hocane will be playing the lead roles in Aangan which is supposed to be a period play somewhat like Daastan. And now these two phenomenal actors will be joining the cast too. Aangan is coming from the team which gave the viewers Udaari with production by Momina Duraid and direction by Ehteshamuddin.

This is indeed a great news for the fans of Yaqeen Ka Safar and we all are expecting big things from Aangan. Are you excited to see them both working together again and what are your thoughts about the remaining team? Share in the comments section below!

Daniel Ends His Career With “Phantom Thread”

There are mediocre actors, there are good actors, there are method actors and then there’s Daniel Day Lewis who is the method himself. When it comes to acting the world rarely gets to experience an actor as amazing as Daniel friggin’ Day so naturally when he announced his retirement earlier this year in June the world was heart broken to say the least.

Daniel Ends His Career With "Phantom Thread"

Daniel is known for keeping his life private and staying away from the limelight, when he is acting he immerses himself completely in the role and that has it’s perils, so the actor followed his intuition and decided to end his career. Daniel will be bidding farewell to Hollywood with Reynolds Woodcock’s biopic set in 1950’s titled “Phantom Thread”.

Daniel Ends His Career With "Phantom Thread"

Set in the glamour of 1950’s post-war London, renowned dressmaker Reynolds Woodcock (Daniel Day-Lewis) and his sister Cyril (Lesley Manville) are at the center of British fashion, dressing royalty, movie stars, heiresses, socialites, debutantes and dames with the distinct style of The House of Woodcock. Women come and go through Woodcock’s life, providing the confirmed bachelor with inspiration and companionship, until he comes across a young, strong-willed woman, Alma (Vicky Krieps), who soon becomes a fixture in his life as his muse and lover. Once controlled and planned, he finds his carefully tailored life disrupted by love. With his latest film, Paul Thomas Anderson paints an illuminating portrait both of an artist on a creative journey, and the women who keep his world running.

Phantom Thread is Daniel’s second collaboration with director Paul Thomas Anderson the first being There Will Be Blood. Anderson also has movies like The Master, Inherent Vice and Magnolia to his credits so all we can expect from these two men is greatness.

As much as we await this movie we also know that we won’t be seeing Daniel on the big screen ever again, talk about being “happy sad”.

“I learnt the guitar for a good five months” Bilal Ashraf on “Rangreza”

Bilal Ashraf made his acting debut in Operation 021 as a supporting actor but soon got his first lead role in last year’s Janaan, though he couldn’t impress the critiques but the public lauded this lad’s performance. Bilal managed to get a thumbs up from critiques after his amazing performance in Yalghaar. This gorgeous actor is all set to amaze us again in his upcoming film “Rangreza” releasing December 21st.

"I learnt the guitar for a good five months" Bilal Ashraf on "Rangreza"

In the recent trailer Bilal is seen as a rockstar so when asked of what he had to go through to ace this role the actor had the following to say:

“I have put my heart and soul into the film. Even though it was really difficult playing a musician, I was convinced I could do it. I hope the audience like my attempt.”

"I learnt the guitar for a good five months" Bilal Ashraf on "Rangreza"

He was further asked if he had any previous music knowledge to which he had the following answer.

“I learnt the guitar for a good five months and took a lot of training, especially for this movie. It’s been a lot of hard work.”

Though a lot can be figured out about the story line of the movie by the trailer but Bilal shared some insight too.

“The film is a musical journey, and it portrays all the emotions – drama, love and romance, all come together to form a unique story. There’s also a lot of anger portrayed through Gohar’s character, which you can see in the trailer.”

"I learnt the guitar for a good five months" Bilal Ashraf on "Rangreza"

We sincerely hope all the hard work that Bilal and team Rangreza put into this film is paid off and the film takes the box office by storm.

“Aangan is not one of those average plays”—Ahsan Khan

“Aangan” is a drama serial set in the pre-partition era and is directed by Ehteshamuddin while it is based on a script by Mustafa Afridi produced by MD Productions, so far Ahsan Khan and Mawra Hocane have been disclosed to lead the show.

Ahsan Khan has recently swoon not only the audience but also the industry folks with his mesmerizing performance as the pedophile “Paa Imtiaz” in Udaari. After Udaari in 2016 Ahsan has worked in two feature films Chupan Chupai and Rehbra while he has just started working on this new play named Aangan which is already on our radar of most awaited shows.

"Aangan is not one of those average plays"---Ahsan Khan

The show is in it’s production stages so the actor couldn’t say much about it albeit when asked of Aangan Ahsan had the following to add in his recent interview:

“It’s set around the time of partition, but it doesn’t deal with any social issue in particular. It’s more about people in that era. Aangan is about family and relationships.”

Ahsan also added that the main reason behind accepting this project was Ehteshamuddin, it is third collaboration between the actor and Ehstesham their previous two projects being Udaari and Preet Na Kariyo Koi, another motivation was MD Productions because they never disappoint with their choice of scripts and ideas.

“Aangan is not one of those average plays. What attracted me to come onboard was its flavour. I just run away from run-of-the-mill content, you see. I always want to do something which has not been seen or done anywhere before.”

"Aangan is not one of those average plays"---Ahsan Khan

Ahsan Khan actually has high hopes for the play and said that this show will do for our industry what Udaari did. He continued saying the following:

“Our plays get appreciated only because they have their own style. They don’t mimic anything or anyone. Similarly, Aangan is going to make people proud of our industry. It’s a play with good entertainment and it’s well made.” But more than that, the biggest reason to watch Aangan is that “It is a play that you could put in a library. It’s something to be preserved, such as classics like Daastan and Ankahi.”

I can’t speak for you guys but I am definitely boarding the hype train, we wish team Aangan all the best and anxiously await to be swooned over one more time.

Alif Allah Aur Insaan Episode 27 Review – Ridiculous!!

What a ridiculous episode of Alif Allah Aur Insaan. Seriously, this drama has come to a stage where every episode is basically a filler because the story is not moving forward & is only losing its purpose. There was a time when even the backdrops & sets were aesthetically appeasing but now it looks like they have made a few rooms of ply wood, have threw in odd colors & are using those cubicles as their sets. The discomfort & lack of interest on the faces of all the actors who were a part of the original script is just so evident. Congratulations producers, you have succeeded in ruining a perfect drama!

Nawazish didn’t want a child & he left Reena with no choice than to leave him & move on. Yes, it is understandable that Reena is now depending a lot on Shammo because she knows he is her well wisher but to literally scurry to him in odd hours makes no sense. Also, as far as we knew, no matter how dire the circumstances were, Reena always listened to her heart so not sure why she is seeking advice from Shammo for every single thing. When Reena knew she wanted to keep the baby, then why did she stand up for herself after Shammo told her to? The way Shammo got a beating that too in high speed was absolutely hilarious, even the first few seconds of Reena’s car ride were in high speed too. I am sure just like all of us viewers, even the editors of this drama must be dozing off because it has become just so boring!

In the last episode & by the end of it like in the precap of this episode, they showed that Malkiyani sent a few goons to look for Basit & it was also shown that she showed up with those goons asking for Nazneen but that entire scenario was missing from this episode? Seriously, are they even realizing how ridiculous this drama has become? Hashmat came back from USA & he had no idea that Nazneen got divorced? Seriously? How is that even possible? Shahzeb was Suhail’s best friend so are they telling us that Shahzeb never told Suhail or anyone about his divorce at all? Ridiculous!

The most pathetic scenario of this drama is this fake, forced & faltu love triangle of Chimpu Arsalan, Gandasa Movie Hero Shaheer & Trying-Hard-To-Be-Cool-But-Failing-Miserably Zimal. Everything from their scenes to their dialogues to their acting to their situations, every single thing about them is absolutely wrong! Also, they keep on telling how rich Shaheer is, if so, then why does he wear the same Shalwar Kameez to his university that he wears at home? LOL! Anyways, I just don’t get it, does Zimal go to the university to sport a forlorn face in front of the guys to seek sympathy, because when she is at home, she seems perfectly alright & behaves normally as well. May be this is her tact of seeking attention from guys, irrespective of how weird they are!

This drama has been ruined completely & there is nothing, absolutely nothing about the old or the new characters that is interesting anymore. There was a time when everything seemed to have a purpose in this story but not anymore. It is saddening to see that even the acting of all the actors is so poor. Imran Ashraf who was in his element seemed so awkward for some reason in this episode, it was like he acted normally then all of a sudden realized that Shammo was a little different than he started behaving a certain way. Reena’s ordeals & the curls in her hair weren’t in harmony with each other, goes to show that the director even the actors have stopped paying attention to the personality that their characters are supposed to have. Highly disappointed! Also, in the next episode Basit & Nazneen will be getting married, so are they showing that Nazneen didn’t even observe her Iddat? Hmmm! Anyways, please share your disappointment over this episode & feel free to vent out!

Cheers,

Mujhe Jeenay Du Episode 7 Review – Outstanding!

This serial just keeps on getting better with every passing episode. Mujhe Jeenay Du has plenty of tracks which are interrelated and the variety of characters shows that the writer did not rely on clichés. So far, there has been absolutely no repetition and the story is getting more interesting. The writer and the director’s focused approach till now makes this drama one of the best drama serials of this season although it is not getting the attention it deserves but it definitely fits the bill. Mehreen Raheal completely stole the show tonight although the competition was fierce since this drama has some really solid performances to its credit. Naseeb and Shaheena’s interactions were the highlight of this episode. Naseeb needed a woman like Shaheena in his life and Shaheena also deserved better. Their scenes together do suggest that these two might have a future together after all but the question is how, since the situation is so complicated.

The focus of the story has moved from Saira to Shaheena and Naseeb in particular while Yasmin’s track also got plenty of screen time in tonight’s episode. Yasmin’s reaction when her son broke the news of her husband’s second marriage to her came as a complete surprise but it was completely in line with her character. She obviously did not know about this already and she was heart broken as well but she was not going to let Shabo ruin his future. It is always refreshing watching a play with women who are strong in their own way. Yasmin lives a meaningful life and she is strong enough to handle anything that comes her way therefore right now the change in Shaheena has to be the most pleasant development in this episode. There was a time when Shaheena couldn’t even think about leaving her husband but tonight she vowed not to forgive him and was scared that he might come back. Working in Naseeb’s house makes her feel useful and she also likes the appreciation she gets from Naseeb since Muhammadu never appreciated her. Goher Rasheed and Mehreen Raheal’s scenes together were a treat to watch. Goher Rasheed makes Naseeb’s character more likeable.

Mujhe Jeenay Du Episode 7 Review - Outstanding!

Another cliché which the writer avoided in this serial has to be the behavior of the second wife in this entire scenario. Instead of getting insecure she told her husband to go and talk to Yasmin although her advise fell on deaf ears since he never apologized but even then it is good to see that for a change the writer has not promoted the cliché that women are women’s worst enemies! Most often in our dramas we are shown men who get brainwashed by their wives or mothers so at the end of the day it is some woman who is responsible for their actions. In this drama for a change, the female characters are helping each other and don’t see each other as competition or as enemies! I think this precedent was set by drama serial Udaari and it is good to see another drama following that example. Even though Shabo’s stepmother tried her best to win him over but he loves his mother dearly and will never allow another woman to take her place. Shabo’s feelings were shown brilliantly in tonight’s episode.

You can’t help but feel for Saira’s character every time a new episode of this drama goes on air. Saira’s incapability to deal with the situation and the manner in which she keeps on reminding her “husband” that she cannot come up to his expectations because she is too young, is so touching. Once again the child star playing Saira and Ali Murad in particular gave exceptional performances. Ali Murad is such a fine actor, he nails every single role he plays. Iffat Omer is another actress who always performs brilliantly, looking forward to seeing more of her.

I highly recommend this show to anyone who is not following it. How many of you watched tonight’s episode? Do share your thoughts about it.

”Women Have To Fight For Their Rights In This Country”, Says Meera

Meera has always been in the news for a number of reasons, some right and some not so right, but there is no denying the actress’s popularity in Pakistan. However, she is not very happy with the way this country treats its female citizens. She recently spoke to Samaa News Channel outside the courtroom as she faces charges registered against her by her self proclaimed ex husband. Her case was not decided today but she is hopeful she will get rid of the allegations one of these days.

Teasers Of Geo’s “Aik Thi Rania”

Sumbul Iqbal and Syed Jibran have paired together to star in Geo’s upcoming play aik thi rania. It is going on air very soon as the teasers have been released now. Jibran is in quite a modern guy in bomber jackets and frayed hems.

He seems to have loved and lost and that makes him regretful of the choices he has made. Its soundrack is beautiful and captures you in the moment.

Sumbul the other hand looks like a simple girl, who keeps on appearing in the hero’s dreams. Her charm seems to have made him fall heed over heels for her.

Rangreza’s Official Trailer Is Here

This Bilal Ashraf, Urwa Hocane and Gohar Rasheed starrer has been making the headlines off and on but the much awaited trailer is finally here.

Rangreza's Official Trailer Is Here

The trailer presents Bilal as a top notch singer who falls for Urwa probably because of how different they both are and Gohar continues to be the baddie. Rangreza has all the ingredients of a drama movie from a love triangle to a crazy antagonist, press, hysterical parents, love songs and tragic death (probably murder). What could go wrong, right?

Enjoy the trailer and do let us know how you liked it?

Tau Dil Ka Kya Hua Episode 15 Review – Brilliant As Usual!!!

Like every other episode of Tau Dil Ka Kya Hua, this one too was a visual treat right from the get-go. Although the situations in this drama are completely bizarre at the moment and it is almost as if all these characters are letting their ego get the best of them but even then the treatment given to this drama is so brilliant that you enjoy watching every single scene and can’t help but look forward to finding out what exactly is going on in everyone’s mind. Khalil-ur-Rehman’s writing style is such that he keeps the viewers wondering about the actual feelings of the characters and he makes it really difficult for the viewers to guess whether a character is taking revenge or he or she actually is in love. The fact that it didn’t take Faris a lot of time to “get over” Dariya as he started pursuing Zoya immediately after she left, went to show that indeed Dariya really did know Faris better than anyone else. Dariya’s character has always been my favorite and the reasons she gave for not staying for longer made me like her character even more. Dariya did not want to wait for the day when Faris would fall in love with her because she knew that such a day will never come therefore even Siraj uncle’s “threats” did not work when he tried to stop her. Now that Dariya is out of the picture, it seems like Faris wants Zoya to share his emotional burden with him.

Since Zoya’s parents told her why Maya disliked her so much therefore it could be another reason why all of a sudden Zoya is actually considering this proposal. This had to be the most bizarre situation I have ever seen in a Pakistani drama yet it has been translated on screen so well that it intrigues you more than it creeps you out (for obvious reasons). The credit for this goes entirely to the director and all the actors involved. This script could have been a complete disaster in the hands of a director who didn’t understand it so well. Everything has been written so boldly that it needed to be underplayed on screen otherwise it would have appeared to be over-dramatic and annoying.

Tau Dil Ka Kya Hua Episode 15 Review - Brilliant As Usual!!!

The turn Tipu’s character took had to be the most shocking of all developments in tonight’s episode. The manner in which Tipu and Maya’s meeting was covered was absolutely faultless. Imran Ashraf and Ayeza Khan’s impressive performances coupled with those witty dialogues made this one of the best scenes of this episode. Maya clearly looks down upon Tipu, she thinks he is beneath her – her expressions said it all – yet she was willing to strike this deal with him. I am wondering how a woman like her who has such a big ego can do so much to go back to Faris. I feel that the main motivation right now isn’t just love but also the fact that Faris and Zoya might get married if she doesn’t take an extreme step to pave way for another nikkah.

Sami Khan’s performance in this play has been faultless throughout, he looks great, has acted brilliantly and has made Faris’ character likeable even though the character itself doesn’t always have a lot going for him! Rehan Sheikh is another actor who always does complete justice to every role he plays. Saif was completely missing from this episode and I must say that I didn’t miss him one bit! In fact this episode was one of the best episodes of Tau Dil Ka Kya Hua because the focus was entirely on Faris, Zoya and Maya.

Shahid Shafat definitely deserves an award for making this difficult script come to life on screen in such a way that you are forced to give each episode your undivided attention. Beautiful visuals, phenomenal performances, powerful dialogues, impressive makeovers and creative direction make this drama an artistic piece of work! Loved watching this drama for 15 weeks and looking forward to how the story unfolds from here on.

Syra And Asim Clash Over Rehearsals

Hum Awards powered by Q mobile dazzled Karachi last night, from all sorts of style statements we saw on the red carpet to aesthetic performances it was wowzah. That wowzah level of entertainment looks so effortless on the T.V screen but it really isn’t. Celebrities go through arduous rehearsal sessions just to make that annual event a night to remember.

On one such arduous session when both Asim Azhar and Syra Shehroz were totally exhausted both physically and mentally they had a minor trifle.

Syra And Asim Clash Over Rehearsals

The argument started when Asim had been waiting for twenty minutes for his rehearsal to start since the management had given him that time but the choreographer was still busy practicing with Syra.

Syra And Asim Clash Over Rehearsals

Everyone started persuading Asim and requested him to wait a little bit more and meanwhile have a cup of tea or something. To which Asim said that they should’ve told him they weren’t free when Asim had contacted them earlier to confirm the timings to which the choreographers were apologetic. Asim insisted that he has no free dates in the future so he must rehearse today he also said he’d contact the management and let them know what’s happening down here to which Syra said “You really don’t need to throw a fit over this” Asim countered this with “I’m really not throwing a fit” after which Syra walked out.

https://www.facebook.com/Pakistan.Showbiz/videos/10155224751934200/

We’re hoping they resolved this issue right there and then prolonging such mundane arguments gets no one no where.

Gohar Rasheed Talks About Rejecting “Neerja”

Gohar Rasheed is a Pakistani actor mostly known for his work in drama serials like “Digest Writer” and “Mann Mayal”. The actor has also worked in movies like 021, Yalghaar and is currently coming up with yet another feature film Rangreza.

Gohar Rasheed Talks About Rejecting "Neerja"

In a recent interview Gohar talked about his journey so far, the actor revealed that his father wasn’t exactly ecstatic about him joining the entertainment industry and was pretty sure Gohar would fail and return home in a few months but God works in mysterious ways and from Karachi’s theater scene Gohar ended up straight in the Best Actor nominees at the New York Film Festival for his movie Seedlings. Since then Gohar Rasheed has become a household name.

In his interview Gohar talked about his faith in God and fate, that one can try his best and leave the rest to God, he also added that tho our nation in general is racist and prefers “fair skin” anyone, no matter how gorgeous, can’t and will not survive without craft and skill. The actor said that he loves playing “the baddie” but won’t mind playing the good guy once in a while to prove his versatility.

When asked about working in Bollywood the actor had the following to say:

“It’s a creative process, acting and film-making. So if I get an invitation with dignity and respect, I’d love to go. My only concern is that the script should be good and it shouldn’t pit me as ‘the Pakistani guy.’ I rejected Neerja for this very reason… because I felt that I was there as a token Pakistani actor which is not what I am about at all! I am more than just a namesake. If it’s a good collaboration, if it’s exploring my potential as more than just ‘that Pakistani actor in an Indian film,’ yeah I don’t mind.”

Gohar Rasheed Talks About Rejecting "Neerja"

We agree with Gohar through and through, art is nothing without dignity and sincerity, we wish the actor all the luck for his future endeavors because this industry deserves a better class of villains and he’s gonna give it to us (hard to miss but it’s a Joker reference).

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

Hum Style Awards this year had a lot of looks which were not understandable. Celebrities were invited to honour style and fashion in the entertainment industry. Many big names attended the event but most of them did not properly read the invitation. They mistook Humm Style Awards for some space exhibition and came at the event alien inspired outfits and styling. Some of them also wanted to just get it over with and didn’t put any effort and some thought of it as a good opportunity to use all the available cosmetics at once on their faces. Here is a list of worst dressed celebrities at Hum Style Awards 2017. Have a look:

Syra Shehroze:

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

Nothing about her outfit and styling was right. An orange suit with some weird cuts and loud makeup is not something that would look good on anyone. This was definitely inspired by aliens since only someone from far future will think of this scientific piece as stylish. Syra never disappoints at red carpets but this time she mixed all her bad wardrobe pieces and wore them to this event. The hairstyle does not suit her either.

Ali Rehman Khan:

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

Ali wanted to match his outfit with the background designs of the venue or maybe he is a fan of “Do not cross” tapes because these can only be two scenarios which can explain Ali’s outfit. The yellow lines on the sides of his pants made the suit even more ridiculous. See:

Sadaf Kanwal:

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

This is not just about the sari being extremely bold. The thing is it is just not right. Sunita too wore a revealing sari but Sadaf’s outfit made me wonder what she was thinking while choosing it. The blouse looks tacky and does not go with the whole outfit and her sleek back hair are too sleek back. This outfit would have topped the worst dressed list if I had made it in the least to most bad order.

Saheefa Jabbar Khattak:

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

Saheefa is known for being rebellious and making a statement but this was not a statement from any angle. The blazer did not go with the dress at all. It looked like she just wore anything because she wanted to get the event over with as soon as possible or maybe she was trying to make a statement again. But honestly, it did not work. Saheefa can certainly do better than this.

Mira Sethi:

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

This dress looks like an advertisement for building blocks children play with and that black tutu thing is for what, I am not sure but this dress was a disaster. Mira has a sleek frame and she could have rocked a normal gown easily. Her hair is not even properly brushed. This is another example of an experiment gone wrong.

Mawra Hocane:

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

Mawra’s dress is good to wear for a friend’s birthday party but not on an award event meant to appreciate style. The worst thing about Mawra’s look is hair and makeup. Her hair looks like they were blow dried in the wrong direction and her makeup is too smoky to look good with the outfit she opted. Another bad choice.

Urwa Hocane:

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

Urwa’s dress is too shiny to look good. Moreover, the flower pads on her shoulder make the dress look even worse. Urwa actually looked like a fruitcake which is loaded with every fruit of the season and then the fruits start spilling due to overload. Looks like Hocane sisters didn’t put much effort this time in their styling.

Nausheen Shah:

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

Another space shuttle inspired dress. Nausheen looked really bad in this and the shaggy hair look didn’t suit her at all. I can’t understand the thought behind this outfit because Nausheen is beautiful and she should have worn something that made her stood out or maybe she didn’t have time for styling either.

Nadia Hussain:

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

Nadia Hussain is probably trying to make a record of wearing worst dresses and opting bad styling at different events. This silk dress looks less like an evening gown and more like a nightgown. The makeup is too nude to work for a gown which is also nude in colour. She ended up looking colourless and bad.

Ainy Jaffri:

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

Ainy’s hair and makeup are on point and make her look fresh and pretty but things had to go wrong when Ainy decided to wear a bed sheet. Her gown actually looked like she has wrapped a bed sheet around her. Her accessories were pretty and her otherwise styling was phenomenal but her dress was meh.

Saba Qamar:

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

The dress was not bad but it did not work for Saba. Her makeup was off too. Maybe some bold makeup would have made this dress look nice. This overall nude look made Saba look zombie-ish and colourless. Not a dress to wear to Style awards. Maybe the same gown in some other colour would have worked but this one is a no-no.

These are the worst dressed celebrities for the event. Any other names to add to the list? Mention below!

Hum Style Awards-Best Dressed Celebrities!

Hum Style Awards were conducted last night in Karachi. These awards are meant to celebrate the sense of fashion and style in the industry and include all the sub-branches like modelling, acting and singing. Many celebrities attended the event and tried to look unique and different. Naturally, each of them wanted to be the best or maybe get noticed. The experiments for many of the celebs, however, turned out to be disasters but some of them actually looked good. Here are some of the celebrities that looked nice and knew the meaning of “Style Awards”.

Ayesha Omer:

Hum Style Awards-Best Dressed Celebrities!

Ayesha Omer was hands-down the queen of the best dressed last night. She wore a beautiful burgundy gown which complimented her skin-tone and her styling was up to the mark too. Her loose curls and dangling earrings made her look complete and she looked like the ultimate fashionista she is.

Sunita Marshal:

Hum Style Awards-Best Dressed Celebrities!

Sunita wore a black net sari which complimented her figure and height. Nets are always a good choice since they rarely go wrong. Same was Sunita’s case as she looked beautiful and her black bangles and silver earrings with a hair up-do totally completed the look.

Ahad Raza Mir:

Hum Style Awards-Best Dressed Celebrities!

He was wearing a simple maroon tux which landed him on this list because many other male celebrities were trying to make themselves like some space movie characters with strange patterns on their suits or maybe they forgot it was Hum Style Awards event and not met gala. Ahad on the other side kept everything sleek and decent. He also looked different as he opted for a colour other than traditional black but still kept things low and decent.

Madiha Imam:

Hum Style Awards-Best Dressed Celebrities!

Madiha looked beautiful in this green number. Madiha is petite and the fact that she realized it and kept her accessories and makeup minimal made her looked innocent and pretty. She was one of the best-dressed celebrities of the night. The colour complimented her and her makeup in nude shades was a cherry on the top.

Sajal Aly:

Hum Style Awards-Best Dressed Celebrities!

Sajal opted for a white gown with frills falling from all sides. Her dress was not “very beautiful” but her hair and makeup made her look extremely pretty. White is a colour which suits Sajal a lot and it worked this time too. With other celebrities trying to look rock band guitarists, Sajal opted simplicity and looked pretty.

Kanwar Arsalan and Fatima Effendi:

Hum Style Awards-Best Dressed Celebrities!

The couple came out in cream toned outfits and looked lovely. Fatima’s outfit showed that how you can manage to look stylish and beautiful in eastern outfits too. Her sleeves were a statement and made the length of her shirt looked chick and stylish while keeping the overall look decent. Kanwar also looked dapper in his suit paired with pattern tie.

Shaneira Akram:

Hum Style Awards-Best Dressed Celebrities!

Shaneira rarely goes wrong with her outfit and styling. Last night she wore a black gown with cape style sleeves and looked ethereal. Her earrings brought an oomph to otherwise a simple black gown and made her land on the best-dressed list.

Feroze Khan:

Hum Style Awards-Best Dressed Celebrities!

Feroze Khan opted a simple black suit. Black suits rarely go wrong and Feroze was able to pull off this look extremely well. He looked dapper and handsome. He also won an award for best-dressed actor television male and with his look at the event, he justified his win by looking stylish and handsome.

Alishba Yousuf:

Hum Style Awards-Best Dressed Celebrities!

Alishba showed up in a vine coloured simple gown. She kept the styling and accessories minimal which complimented her choice of outfit. The dress looked pretty and comfortable and the way she styled herself by also keeping the comfort factor in mind made her look elegant. And yes Alishba was the only Yousuf sister who looked nice last night.

Hareem Farooq:

Hum Style Awards-Best Dressed Celebrities!

Hareem also looked good in a two-toned gown. Hareem has lost a lot of weight and now she usually opts for cuts that can show her newly acquired figure. This time too she went for similar kind of dress and she looked nice. Her hairstyle also complimented the overall look. It was a good choice for her to ditch her normal style of loose strands.

Amna Ilyas:

Hum Style Awards-Best Dressed Celebrities!

Amna was probably the only model other than Sunita who looked nice. She wore a simple black form-fitting gown. Her sandals and hairdo were the best parts about her overall styling and look. Her on the point highlight and minimal makeup made her look beautiful.

Hamza Ali Abbasi:

Hum Style Awards-Best Dressed Celebrities!

Hamza knows how to mix tradition with style. He always makes a statement at such events and pulls off his looks with grace and style. This time too he was able to grab the attention in his eastern greyish green attire.

These are the celebrities who looked nice at Hum Style Awards and maybe they were the ones who understood that it was an event meant to celebrate style and not some kind of robotics exhibition. Which celebrities you think should be on the list? Share your thoughts in comments!

Khamoshi Episode 3 Review-Awful Shehnaz!

0

Today’s episode was all about revelations of different facts. Arsala was suspicious of her father’s antics when he was not allowing anyone to talk to her and later Haseena confirmed what was actually going on with her life. Haseena’s character shows all those women we see about on news channels every day. They beat and torture their house helps even if they are small kids and are always talking ill about them. Mudassir is too passive and has no backbone to counter his wife’s tantrums. He is that chup chaap uncle of Khamoshi which we have in all our dramas. Such uncles are good at heart but are practically good for nothing. Arsala has finally submitted to her fate as she now knows that her own family has ditched her.Her conversation with Mudassir where she tells him that Haseena has spoken only the truth showed her state of mind.

Khamoshi Episode 3 Review-Awful Shehnaz!

The original awful character of today’s episode was Shehnaz, not Haseena. At least Haseena is evil and she shows it while on the other hand Shehnaz is exploiting her daughter and showing that how bechari she is. She is a very weak woman and she is not only weak because of her husband but the incoming luxuries are affecting her thoughts too. She has no qualms with Naima’s shopping because Arsala is there to take all burdens. She is even going to emotionally blackmail Arsala for their own gains. Sabir, however, is evil but the guy doesn’t discriminate in sons and daughters. But I think he should think about Naima in the same way as that would double the income of his household but as they say Naima shayed abhi bachi hai.

Naima is a super evil. They have not shown why she is so negative towards Arsala. Apart from Atif, Arsala was very loving and supportive towards her sister. Naima is in some kind of obsession towards Atif as this will not be described as love. For that, she is ever ready to take care of her khala. Atif loves Arsala for which he is even ready to bow down before Sabir but he doesn’t really trust her. Few poisonous words by Naima can make the guy’s thoughts take a negative turn regarding Arsala. Soon he will be turning to Naima, maybe as a revenge from Arsala but seems like larka kanon ka kacha hai.

I am now waiting for Bilal Khan’s entry as it will take things forward. As for the preview, Arsala’s life will be turning worse than it already is. And Shehnaz will make her daughter turn to wreck because now like her husband, all she cares about are thirty thousand rupees. Zara Noor Abbas showed the defeat in Arsala’s mind fabulously today while Iqra Aziz was also extremely good with Naima’s evil portrayal.

What are your thoughts about today’s episode? I found it a bit slow as compared to the previous two episodes. Share your opinions in the comments section below!

“Capitalising women on their sexuality to get a few eyeballs is pathetic.”

Pakistani actor Hamza Ali Abbasi is known for being vocal and for advocating unconventional opinions, recently in an interview Hamza talked about his stance on item numbers and the capitalization of women on their sexuality in Pakistani cinema.

“Capitalising women on their sexuality to get a few eyeballs is pathetic."

While explaining his responsibility as an influential celebrity Hamza said that political opinions aren’t the only thing he is vocal about he voices his concerns regarding Pakistani cinema just as much. He also added that he’s a feminist and believes in equality. He further said the following:

“Like male actors are judged on their acting, somewhat on their looks and generally, their talent, actresses should be too. Most of the actors don’t have a beefed-up body, including myself. So there’s nothing decent about just adding item numbers that are not needed. Capitalising women on their sexuality to get a few eyeballs is pathetic. Women’s bodies can’t be used to sell films; you need to use their talent and capability. You’re not damaging me, you’re damaging women. I’m sure Na Maloom Afraad 2 would’ve done as well without an item number.”

Hamza will continue being Hamza but it doesn’t take a genius to make sense out of all this, Pakistani audience that gets outraged on revealing western dressing of actresses should feel equally offended by these item numbers yet the item number culture is still relevant here. We await the day when cinema will be more about art and less about business.

Mahira’s Take on #MeToo and Sexual Harassment

Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein is facing public’s wrath after being called out by many women including some very influential celebrities for years and years of sexual harassment. Actress Alyssa Milano started the #MeToo campaign and urged people to be a part of it and share their personal experiences of sexual harassment in order to show that the problem isn’t limited to one country or gender it is everyone’s problem and it is everywhere. People responded to the hashtag and social media has been swarming with victims sharing their stories these past few days.

Mahira's Take on #MeToo and Sexual Harassment

The campaign has now reached Pakistan too and here’s what Mahira Khan had to say about it.

Mahira Khan Pakistani actress believes that the #MeToo campaign isn’t about the battle of sexes it is about all mankind, sexual harassment isn’t a crime against women it is a crime against humanity. The actress also added that it is alarming how well and long kept this secret was, Harvey has been harassing women for decades but one woman’s courage gave all other victims enough courage to speak up for themselves. She further added that it is harder for men to talk about their experiences because it questions their ideas of masculinity and manhood.

Mahira's Take on #MeToo and Sexual Harassment

Mahira khan also added that social media campaigns die and become a thing of the past as quickly as they go viral but an issue this grave shall not suffer the same fate hence we need movies and shows like Bol, Khuda Key Liye, Veran and Udaari that send the message of courage and empowerment.

Not all men but enough for everyone to have gone through this, not all men but enough for it to be a problem, it is high time that we not only talk but practice what we preach and do something about this issue that threatens everyone of us.

Hareem Farooq Gets Candid With Shaista Lodhi

Hareem Farooq has made quite a name for herself in the recent years. She has excelled in dramas, ramp modelling and has starred in movies like Dobara Phir Se, Siyaah and now Parchi. Yesterday, she appeared on Geo Subah Pakistan and got in a candid conversation with Shaista Lodhi. Dressed very casually in a short light blue kurta and loose white pants, Hareem stole the show with her down to earth mannerisms and frank attitude.

Hareem Farooq Gets Candid With Shaista Lodhi

Hareem spoke of her journey to getting this slim and stylish from the weight of 103 kg that she gained after being bed bound and unable to exercise as she was recovering from an accident. Her tips were to listen to your own body and focus on being healthy and fit for your own self. Her main motivation was the result of her hard work as she saw the scales plummeting and that is how she continued to make efforts for slimming down. Talking about her childhood, she said she was a lazy student who was often absent due to sleeping in on school mornings.

Talking about makeup, Hareem revealed that she is not very much into makeup and she believes it does not suit her face very well. On the topic of marriage, Hareem told that her parents have given her full right to choose whomever she chooses to marry, but she would never want to go against their happiness. Their approval is most important for her.

Indulging the audience into more details about her personality, Hareem spoke of her intense love for pets and her wishes to go into the direction side of showbiz one day.

It was nice to get to know Hareem as a person as she is relatively new and has appeared in a huge number of roles already. Their was one section in which Shaista played to find out the dream man for Hareem by making three hypothetical proposals, which was quite ridiculous, and was made bearable only due to Hareem’s humility and humor.

Noor Bukhari And Fiza Khan Fight Over Fiza’s Earlier Video

Yesterday we had seen a video where Fiza Khan defends Noor Bukhari after her divorce with Wali Hamid Khan, saying that she was a typical loving wife and mother who had suffered a lot at the hands of her husband and that people should not be quick to judge her. According to Fiza’s yesterday’s video, Noor was the victim in her broken relationship.

However, after that video, Noor called Fiza and gave out to her angrily about defaming and insulting her ex husband. Fiza has now recorded another video, telling her newly formed opinions now about this whole scenario.

Syra Shehroz Reveals Why She Rejected “JPNA 2”

Jawani Phir Nahi Ani is a 2015 Pakistani comedy movie which was directed by Nadeem Beyg and was co produced by Humayun Saeed. JPNA was a huge success so naturally it’s sequel JPNA 2 is anticipated to be one of the top runners in 2018.

Syra Shehroz Reveals Why She Rejected "JPNA 2"

The sequel will be starring all the cast of the prequel with the exception of Fahad Mustafa replacing Hamza Ali Abbasi, earlier this month we heard rumors of him pairing with Syra Shehroz but when Mawra sealed the deal for the feature film we had a lot of questions.

Syra Shehroz Reveals Why She Rejected "JPNA 2"

Sayra Shehroz when asked of her role in the movie said this:

“I rejected the film because I believe my role was not substantial. Nadeem Baig is one of the finest directors we have in the Pakistani film industry, but the role I was offered didn’t amount to what I had in mind, so I politely declined and told Nadeem bhai that I won’t be doing this role in JPNA2″

She also added:

“Nadeem bhai and I will definitely be working together in the near future.”

Sayra Shehroz made her debut with Chalay Thay Sath which didn’t do so well on the box office, while her other feature film Project Ghazi has been delayed for some technical difficulties.

Syra Shehroz Reveals Why She Rejected "JPNA 2"

Mawra Hocane on the other hand will be making her debut in Pakistani film industry with JPNA 2 and we wish her good luck.

Fesl Shares Everything: From Temporary Breakup To Proposal!

0

Armeena Rana Khan is a very successful actress in our industry. She recently got engaged to beau Fesl Khan when he proposed her during vacations in Cuba. Since then he has been seen accompanying her at different places. But for the first time, Armeena has officially introduced Fesl to everyone when the couple came as guests in Geo Subah Pakistan. Both of them specially Fesl was very open about their relationship and shared many details about them with the audience.

Fesl Shares Everything: From Temporary Breakup To Proposal!

Fesl is a politician who was brought up by a single mother. The way Fesl talked about his mother was simply beautiful. He shared how she had to face a lot of hardships but she came out at the top and made Fesl the best he could be. He also encouraged other single mothers to stay strong. Fesl is Armeena’s distant cousin and she was always annoyed with him in childhood since he used to beat her in chess. They have been best friends for a decade and were in a relationship too which came to a halt for almost two years. Fesl shared that how Armeena saw him with a girl and misunderstood him. She didn’t talk to him for two years because she felt betrayed. Fesl, on the other hand, thought that since she has become a star in Pakistan, she probably didn’t want to be with him. Two years later, Fesl decided to call her back and sought out the stuff since he didn’t want to have any regrets and today they are together; engaged and happy.

Fesl Shares Everything: From Temporary Breakup To Proposal!

Fesl has served in the British Army for 4 years and his paternal family had an Army background too. He unfortunately never met his father because of his parent’s separation and later his mother’s permanent movement to the UK. His father died later but his mother always told him about his father’s family’s Army background and his maternal grandfather’s too which caused his interest in joining the Army. Fesl is a brilliant cook and can do household chores better than women according to him.

Fesl and Armeena both are very supportive of each other and discuss their professions. Armeena wrote a sweet letter for him in the show where she told him that she always misses him on sets.

Fesl’s Urdu is really nice and the way he expressed his love for Pakistan was beautiful too. We wish the couple a life filled with love and happiness ahead!

Did you watch their interview? If not go watch it since it was a show where the guest had a lot to say in contrast to the host always having the upper hand in talking!

O Rangreza Episode 13 Review – What’s Next?

Ohkay so, it was a decent episode of O Rangreza. Now that we have gotten a detailed introduction to all the characters, after this episode I am left with a feeling of wanting to know what more is left in the story? Even though two new characters have been introduced but they failed to grab my attention & for that reason I don’t really see how they will be changing the dynamics in the future episodes. As much as I love watching O Rangreza & wait for its episodes, for the first time I am forced to ask, what’s next?

So, looks like Tipu has a past & he & Khayyam share a history, that is why Khayyam wasn’t really over the moon when he saw Tipu & even Tipu isn’t much bothered about his father. Sonia Jahan’s disappearance has caused a lot of problems for Khayyam because now his name has made it to the public & Wajih Kamal is making sure to talk about him more & more so that Khayyam feels the pressure, so that he understands what is it like to be related to a public figure. Even though whatever Khayyam has done till date is wrong, but I must commend him for the love he has for Sonia because he is literally putting everything at stake for her. Khayyam was always so conscious about his name & his pride but the fact that he is not even worried about anything anymore does prove a point that he loves Sonia a lot, I know that too on his own conditions but chalo, he does love her!

Khayyam who always kept his family hidden & himself low-profile not only made it to the news but the ladies of his house made it to the police station as well. The expression that Khayyam had on his face when he heard that Mumtaz & Sassi came to bail him out was priceless, he has not only lost his dignity but has put his family under such circumstances which he never imagined & all this is happening because of Sonia. Well, Khayyam for the first time felt ashamed that he became a laughing stock in front of his own children, for the first time he owned his mistakes, for the first time he didn’t blame Mumtaz but the question is, is he really going to change or he is just thinking straight for the first time because Sonia is missing & he isn’t distracted by her beauty & his love/infatuation for her? I am sure the moment Sonia Jahan will come back, he will go back to her because he can’t think rationally when she is around him!

So, Tipu introduced his ‘friend’ to his family – Meena, a Hindu girl who is in a relationship with him. I know Tipu is a true depiction of those Pakistanis who become a bit too Gora when they return from abroad & in all honesty I myself have seen people like him but I am not sure if it is because of the actor or the character that I am not too keen on him, like I find him annoying. I know may be he is supposed to be like that, which means it is a win for an actor to portray a character so realistically that he is evoking the right kind of emotion in a viewer but again, I am not too keen on what he will be bringing to the table.

Honestly speaking, as much as I respect the feelings Qasim has for Sassi, I am so not happy that he decided to forsake his scholarship just because Sassi told him to come back? I so wanted Qasim to be away from that environment, live his life on his own & come back as such a strong personality that even a tough cookie like Sassi crumbles in front of him but I was disappointed that he couldn’t keep his word & came back & sadly, after coming back, he thought he shouldn’t have come? I understand Qasim’s character, his nature too but I wish to see him a bit strong emotionally where he at least has the courage to lead a girl like Sassi. I know the writer has balanced out their relationship like that where a boisterous Sassi will be best complemented by a soft spoken, calm & composed Qasim but still to see him act like a pushover in front of Sassi is something that if changed would be great!

Overall, this episode was good, I liked seeing the ‘temporary’ change in Khayyam Sani & I am sure this would last till the moment Sonia Jahan would come back in the picture. Kareeman & Meena’s scenes were amusing, the actress playing the role of Kareeman did the best she could to portray how usually people get awkward when they don’t know how to communicate with someone in language that they don’t know. Interested to see what more do they have in store for us. Please share your thoughts about this episode of O Rangreza.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Last Episode Review – Shocking Plot Twist!

*SPOILER ALERT*

What an emotionally overpowering end to a drama serial which banked heavily on emotions and succeeded in making the viewers relate to this complicated yet appealing love story. This had to be the best ending I have seen in a long time. It was a beautiful ending which wasn’t happy but definitely poignant and put forward a powerful message ….. “Tumhei bus dikhaya hei ke jis se pyar karo us pr aitebar karo”. Unlike many other finales in which everything falls into place and everyone lives happily ever after, Khalil-ur-Rehman’s endings are just as unpredictable and meaningful as the plot of his dramas. This was also the kind of episode which keeps you hooked to your television screen right till the end. Maheen took her revenge and her attitude towards Waqar in the past few episodes made perfect sense tonight. When Maheen said “qabool hei” and it was only 8:30, I was wondering what is going to happen in the next 30 minutes and absolutely loved how the writer saved the most shocking twist for the last 15 minutes of this finale! I must say that Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar is the only writer who has the guts to pen down an ending like this one! Love the way he nails these unorthodox endings over and over again. Maheen’s letter – every single word- was the highlight of this last episode! I am going to watch this particular scene a few more times tonight!

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Last Episode Review - Shocking Plot Twist!

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei’s biggest strengths were its mind-blowing dialogues, an unpredictable storyline and most importantly the chemistry between Imran Abbas and Ayeza Khan. Ayeza Khan and Imran Abbas’ solid performances especially in the last 10 weeks or so made this drama a treat to watch. Shehzad sheikh also gave an impressive performance throughout and made the viewers fall in love with his character. Gulrez also turned out to be the real hero in the end. He proved that he was much more strong and committed than Maheen and Waqar both. Kinza Hasmi’s acting was also impressive and Haroon Kadwani is a newcomer to look out for. Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei’s complete OST is available online and I highly recommend it to everyone, it is one of the best OSTs of this year.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Last Episode Review - Shocking Plot Twist!

The biggest weakness of this drama however was the way it was directed; the slow pace, overacting by some of the actors and the ever-present annoying background score which didn’t always go well with different situations. Also, the make-up wasn’t up to the mark a lot of times. All these drawbacks made it really difficult for a lot of viewers to sit through this drama for many weeks and were the reasons why many viewers stopped watching this drama altogether. It was however one of those very few dramas which eventually take off and the last 10 episodes or so were extremely enticing and powerful. This drama could have been thoroughly entertaining and even more powerful if everything was covered in 20 episodes and all that stretching which made the viewers give up on it was chopped down altogether.

Overall, even with all its flaws watching this drama and reviewing it was a pleasure; something I looked forward to enjoyed doing. A big shout out to all those people who put their heart and soul into this project. A big thank you to all those wonderful readers who read the reviews every week and contributed to the discussions, it wouldn’t have been the same without you all. Keep reading and commenting. Looking forward to Shayad the most right now!

Shabnam worked in Lollywood for almost three decades and has appeared in 180 films. She left Pakistan and Pakistani film industry in 1990s.

Veteran Actress Shabnam Comes Back to T.V Screens

Though Shabnam closed that chapter of her life but many Shabnam fans still await her return to their TV screens and looks like the wait is over.

The veteran actress will soon be seen playing her own fangirl in the upcoming TV series Mohini Mansion Ki Cinderella, the show will be stretched over 52 episodes and is directed by Ali Tahir while the music comes from Sahir Ali Bagga.

Writer Fasih Bari Khan says:

Shabnam’s character is going to really fun. Her name is Shabana Jharna, who’s a diehard Shabnam fan! You know the kind who keeps a record of everything their favourite star has done? That kind of devotion. Shabana has grown old but still ‘speaks in dialogues’ like Shabnam did, wears her sari like Shabnam does.”

Fasih also added:

“Like all of my work, this drama is also based on stories of the common man. The drama explores the lives of a whole neighbourhood set in 1992 Lahore.”

We hope that the drama proves to be as amazing as Shabnam’s previous projects have been, we wish all the luck to team Mohini Mansion Ki Cinderella.

Yaar e Bewafa Episode 16 Review – Good But…

Ohkay so, it was a pretty decent episode of Yaar e Bewafa because there was some sort of development to its credit but I am getting irked by how black & white the characters are. The negative ones are too negative & the good ones are too good to be true. Even though what the writer has shown has a lot of reality to it but I think he could’ve balanced out the characters by adding more shades to their personality.

In last week’s review I said I would want to see Amna stand up for her son but in stead she stood up from the ground to grab Iodex for herself after she got a beating from Saleem? Seriously? They introduced Amna as someone who is loyal to a fault, without showing us her background or giving us their back story as to how Saleem & Amna met & what did Saleem do for her that she has become such an obedient wife? I think in order to balance things out, the writer should’ve shown that Saleem was a good father to Omar if not a good husband, that is why Amna keeps on forgiving him for the way he mistreats her, like some positivity from such a man? I know he is shown as a terminally ill patient but still, that is no excuse for his misconduct towards his wife & his innocent son. I know Amna feels for Saleem but to see her allowing him to even torture their son is a bit too much. I like Amna’s character but I think she is too good to be true because there’s a limit & any woman, under any circumstances would definitely put a stop to such abuse at some point in her life, that too when she is the one doing the heavylifting! Even if Amna can not stop Saleem from directing such abuse towards her, realistically she wouldn’t be sooo patient with him, like I think if they had shown Amna losing her cool at least once, that would’ve made her character realistic. I am not saying she should stop being loyal & sincere to him but giving back to him once wouldn’t make her look like some alien species!

Zaid can’t stop sympathizing with Amna, even though he knows that his interference in her life is causing troubles for her but he still can’t ignore Amna & her circumstances. Zaid not only feels for Amna but also for Omar because he knows that there’s a man like Saleem in their lives who is only torturing them. Even though Zaid’s friend keeps on reminding him that he is causing more problems for Amna but Zaid can’t ignore her.

Where we have Amna who is too good & Saleem who is too evil, we also have Fizza who is too weird & selfish, another example of extremely black character. We saw how Fizza was upset when she was leaving for Australia because deep down in her heart, even though she wanted to chase after her dreams, she still had some feelings for Zaid in her heart. Fizza choosing not to divorce Zaid was evidence enough that she still loved him, so not sure why some unseen character Ali has been introduced in their lives & not only that, Fizza is spending time with him too? I think the writer should’ve left things like that, where Fizza chose to part ways because she wanted a better life for herself & her son, because to show her moving on that too with another man is a bit too much. It is like they are deliberately showing it to make the good Zaid look even better that he wasn’t the first one to move on & since he saw that Fizza chose another life partner, he then started seeing Amna as his prospect wife? Even if they had shown that Zaid decided to start a new life with Amna first, it wouldn’t have changed anything because it is quite obvious that whatever Zaid & Fizza had is a water under the bridge now, so not sure why they writer once again made Fizza look a bit more selfish that while still being in Zaid’s Nikkah & being married to him legally, she chose to date someone!?!

The last scene of this episode was good. I liked how Zaid decided to give a reality check to Saleem & forced him to see the mirror where he was the culprit & not Amna. I don’t know why I have a feeling that Saleem might’ve died with sharmindagi but just because Zaid’s colleague saw him leaving from Amna’s place, Amna will think it is Zaid who is responsible for Saleem’s death? I think this is how may be the story will progress, let’s see. Anyways, I liked Imran Abbas’s acting in this episode a lot, especially in the last scene where he confronted Saleem. Can’t wait to see his & Amna’s story now. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yaar e Bewafa.

Cheers,

Teri Raza Episode 16 Review – Sickening!

I just can not believe that Suhana had the audacity to say ‘meinne kuch nahi kiya’ after putting Imtiyaz through so much. It is absolutely sickening to see Suhana play the victim all the time, it is like she is aloof to the idea of understanding or realizing that she can be at fault too. It is absolutely sickening to see a character like Suhana on screen who gets away with everything & more than that, she herself doesn’t see her mistakes, like for once, I haven’t seen her feeling guilty for all of her lies & deceit. In stead of seeing her own mistakes, she played the victim saying ‘Imtiyaz ko mai achi nahi lagti, mere ma baap ko mai achi nahi lagti’, I think she should’ve said ‘saray drama viewers ko mai zeher lagti hoon’ because that’s the truth but since Suhana believes in lies, she wouldn’t admit this!

I felt for Imtiyaz a lot when he heard Suhana say that she loves Rameez. Even though I felt that this episode could’ve been reasonable but there were so many flaws & glitches that they reinforced the fact that I was watching an episode of Teri Raza where nothing makes sense. Anyways, Imtiyaz found out what was in Suhana’s heart all this while & the way he approached this entire issue made his character even better. Imtiyaz understood that just because Suhana was being a pain, he had to be dignified about it & had to gracefully end this relationship which was causing pain to him & most importantly Suhana.

I just couldn’t believe that after doing so much, Suhana still had the guts to stand in front of Imtiyaz, look into his eyes & say that she was telling him the ‘truth’. It is cringe worthy to see her being so oblivious of her reality which is based on lies. Anyways, just because Imtiyaz decided to call it quits, Suhana once again turned it into an opportunity to make herself look like a victim saying that she hasn’t done anything? Seriously, she should ask herself this question first in stead of asking others as to what she has done?

Suhana said she made a decision that she is going to compromise for the rest of her life, I think she should’ve rephrased it by saying that she is going to make Imtiyaz’s life miserable for the rest of her life because let’s face it, she has gotten used to the luxuries that her marriage with Imtiyaz has given to her, so she is now thinking of leaving Rameez, but still she will do this while having him in her heart because for her this marriage is a compromise & she can not be sane enough to get over her ex boyfriend & give her husband a chance who truly is a gentleman & loves her. I was actually glad that Imtiyaz found out what a liar Suhana was!

I just didn’t get why all of a sudden Zafar & Talat started getting all this coverage? Also, I found it amusing that out of all the people, the man who was least bothered about his daughter was now emerging as an informer who was informing his family of everything that was happening in Suhana & Imtiyaz’s life. First it used to be Talat but now it was Zafar who was acting like a newscaster telling everyone that Imtiyaz wasn’t talking to Suhana, that Imtiyaz left for Europe (only to show up in the next scene as if he never left), that Imtiyaz was not going to forgive Suhana? Talat’s meltdown made me laugh a lot because before that, the howler in Shaheen Khan woke up & she howled for a good few minutes pleading her case that she isn’t a loon, even if she behaves like one!

Talat took it on her that she was the one who went ahead with the Istikhara & hid everything from everyone? Also, Zafar was like Talat didn’t tell him before that Suhana was interested in someone whereas I clearly remember that on Suhana’s Mehandi night, Talat told her husband that she is happy everything went by smoothly & Rameez didn’t create a scene? Seriously, the amount of flaws in the script & direction make it hard for me to believe that the team of Teri Raza was even serious before making this drama. Another thing I noticed was that Talat told Suhana that she was pregnant & if we believe that she actually is pregnant, why there were no celebrations happening like before, like no one even talked about it, not even Sitara in order to convince Imtiyaz that he shouldn’t leave Suhana? The story & the characters of this drama are all over the place & it shows that the writer was may be half-asleep while writing this script!

I just don’t understand, when Sitara told Talat & Zafar that Imtiyaz won’t be leaving Suhana & that he will be giving her another chance, why did Zafar feel the need to tell his mother that Imtiyaz wants to part his ways with Suhana? May be he is tired of his mother & her English & that’s why he wants her out of this drama as well? Anyways, I just don’t get Suhana’s character, she is one twisted psychopath who is so mentally scattered that she has no idea what she wants from her life. She says she accepted this marriage because of Istikhara, but she can not get over Rameez, she can not accept Imtiyaz but now wants to compromise while still having her ex boyfriend in her heart. Also, when Imtiyaz decided to clear her way, she was unhappy about it? Why? What a cheap character I must say! Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Teri Raza.

Noor Reveals Why She Left Show-Biz

Noor Bukhari is a Pakistani actress, model and director who is making headlines of all entertainment news these days because of her decision of leaving show business and becoming a practicing Muslim and not just a Muslim by name. She recently appeared in a morning show wearing hijab and that raised many eye brows, people had all sorts of opinions, suggestions, remarks and questions about her so Noor decided to show up in Sama’s morning show to explain her side of the story.

Noor Reveals Why She Left Show-Biz

Noor explained that she always was a family woman and every time she got married she left show biz in order to become a stay at home wife because she loves all household chores and responsibilities but as it turned out none of her marriages lasted long and she had to take care of herself and for that she had to keep working.

Madiha Naqvi (the show host) narrated that many of Noor’s friends and co-workers state that Noor always keeps a “dubata” in her hand bag for namaz to which Noor said that namaz is an obligation and the inability to perform an obligation is unforgivable also everyone in her family including her mother and sister offer prayers five times a day.

When asked about her recent divorce Noor said that Wali and Noor wanted different things from life and the relationship they shared was very unhealthy, she was mentally so tortured that she considered killing herself but the thought of leaving her daughter alone kept her from doing so. She added that it was extremely painful to deal with this emotional trauma let alone deal with media and all sorts of derogatory remarks too. The things people said about her weren’t words but stones that were thrown towards her, she has no brother and her father is dead she has no one to turn to but Allah.

Noor Reveals Why She Left Show-Biz

When asked about her failed marriages Noor said that though her family approved of her profession they did not approve of coupling before marriage which is very common in show business, she also criticized the society’s double standards, how people are alright with celebrities being in multiple relationships before finally getting married but at the same time celebrities who get married more than once are criticized as if what they did was undesirable/haram.

Noor said that the major inspiration behind her transformation was her daughter, she wanted to be a role model for her daughter, to be the kind of woman she’d want her daughter to grow into one day. She also said that though Fatima is only five years old she imitates Noor already and often places a prayer rug next to Noor’s and starts offering namaz.

Noor Reveals Why She Left Show-Biz

In the end Noor explained that during her divorce trial when she was constantly being bullied by media and her world was falling apart in front of her she was under severe depression, that’s when one of the people she knew asked her to go visit this Islamic Scholar, Noor didn’t reveal any names and referred to that scholar as “Baji”. Noor and this scholar talked for three hours and Noor describes these three hours to be the turning point of her life. She said that Baji did not force her to do anything, all she did was explain to her how mundane this life is and what we really need to focus on is the after life and on discovering the reason for which we were sent here.

Noor said that her sister Faria Bukhari, who is also a model and an actress, has decided to follow the path of enlightenment but isn’t yet ready to tell her story.

Noor Reveals Why She Left Show-Biz

When asked of her future plans Noor explained that she might venture the world of women’s wear and might come up with a brand that sells Muslim clothing including abayas, hijabs, burkas etc since when she was changing her wardrobe and went to shop some abayas she realized that women don’t really have much options here. She also suggested that she might keep working as a director since there are no Islamic dramas or shows for the young audience or she might work in some talk show.

We wish Noor a very happy and successful life ahead and hope that she stays enlightened and blessed.
