Ali Abbas and Rabab Hashim are leading and versatile actors of Pakistan who are recently spotted together in drama serial “Angna”. Lately, Rabab and Ali appeared together in an interview with “Fuchsia Magazine”.

While clarifying the physical abuse part in drama serial “Agna”, Rabab Hashim mentioned that “We had a lot of debate on this particular scene. From a practical point of view, the sequence was tightly knit with that scene, the entire story was somehow connected with that scene. Ali was very reluctant do it. We had a conversation that we should remover this physical abuse part but focusing on the message of the scene and highlighting this, we didn’t feel that we should remove it. It wasn’t glorified that such acts are good to be practiced or anything like that, it’s just a story.”

“The guy was not proud after he slapped his wife, because he’s the one who is going through a lot in his life. If you watch that particular scene which was making rounds on social media lately, Zain was clearly trying to avoid that slap but when things went out of his hand he slapped Eshal, just because of his mother. Zain only reacted because of his fear”, added Ali Abbas.

Linkin Park is a name as familiar as home to every music lover worldwide, naturally the passing of Chester Bennington in summer last year left the whole world in tears and with an unfillable void.

Alamdar Khan, a Pakistani singer, recently released a video singing a cover of Linkin Park’s famous song Crawling. Set in a black and white backdrop, the video features Khan and some clips from Bennington’s last performance.

Khan has been into music for a long time. Talking to The Express Tribune, he revealed that Linkin Park is a major part of his life and interest in music.

“My cousin and I were jamming to Linkin Park’s song after Bennington had passed away and we thought of recording it. But he was flying back to the US soon so I got in touch with Sarmad Ghafoor, who recorded the song for us.”

Post recording, Khan thought of shooting a video as well so he got back in touch with Ghafoor and filmed it.

“All of this happened in the span of a few days. No one from our side of the world had paid a tribute to Bennington so I took it upon myself to honour him,” 

Bennington passed away in July 2017. The singer was suffering from depression and committed suicide by hanging himself at his house in California. With his tribute, Khan aims to educate people about mental disorders as well. He explained,

“Mental illnesses are still considered a taboo in Pakistan. If you go see a shrink, people start to think you are crazy. So we’re trying to raise awareness that it is okay to go see a psychiatrist and get help,” 

We hope more people take mental illnesses as seriously as they take cancer or AIDS and the world doesn’t have to lose another Chester Bennington or Robin Williams or Kurt Cobain to a mental illness.

Parwaaz Hay Junoon is a tribute from entertainment industry to Pakistan Air Force. Its production is well under way and the teaser will most probably release on the 6th of September to mark Pakitan Air Force’s commendable role on that date in the country’s history, or on the 7th of September, which is Pakistan Air Force day.

The movie will be directed by Haseeb Hssan, who has recently given us Mann Mayal and Diyar e Dil. This is is his first movie from the director’s chair. The film will show the rigorous training, trials and tribulations faced by the personnel of PAF, in the line of duty. There are some very extreme weather conditions shown on screen especially from the Northern areas of Pakistan.

The famed singer/model/actor Alamdar Khan has revealed that he is going to be part of the movie, as part of the aerial action packed scenes, playing a major support system to Hamza Ali Abbasi, the lead protagonist of the movie.

The most interesting thing is that Alamdar is an ex officer of the Pakistan Air Force and the experience carried nostalgia, loyalty and reality all in one package for him. He was back to the barracks, reconnecting with what was once home for him.

The rest of the cast includes Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahad Raza Mir, Saad Qazi, Hania Aamir, Shaz Khan, Marina Khan, Kubra Khan, Arsalan Butt and Shamoon Abbasi.

The movie set to release around the end of this year, in December most likely and will definitely be a visual treat, since it is backed by Pakistan Air Force, Hum Tv and MD Productions.

Akshay Kumar is known not just for being a hero in Indian cinema for the longest time but for also playing comic roles in his films which were made memorable because of his perfect comic timing. The good thing is that Akshay Kumar gives the credit for his perfect comic timing to none other than the very well known Pakistani comedian Umer Sharif.

While talking to the journalists in a Press Conference that was held to promote his upcoming film “Singh Is Bling” Akshay Kumar said, “I remember somebody told me that they liked my comedy timing, I must tell you I learnt my comedy timing from Umer Sharif.” Umer Sharif was standing right next to him when Akshay uttered these words.

He also said, “I have seen all his shows even if they were pirated or anything but I got hold of it.” Umer Sharif praises Akshay Kumar for his honesty and said that is the reason why he came to India on his invitation. The two stars had a candid chat with each other in the Press Conference and showed that they were much more than just friends.

Bollywood film industry is among the most successful film industries in the world. Pakistanis have grown up watching Bollywood films and their stars always receive a lot of love in Pakistan. From the three Khans to Akshay Kumar, all of them have always gathered a lot of love from Pakistani fans but since Modi’s government has come in India, their whole landscape and mindset as a country has changed. Ban culture in Bollywood has pushed many actors to choose Hindutva and nationalist scripts so their movies work as propaganda films like The Kashmir Files is what is mostly working in India. Akshay Kumar also did a nationalist film titled Bell Bottom last year.

Horror movies are right up my alley.I am always ready to grab some popcorn and enjoy a spine-chilling horror film so it’s no surprise that Aksbandh (previously titled Paranormal Karachi Nights), a 2016 Pakistani found footage horror film piques my interest.

Directed by Emran Hussain and co-written with Ayaz Samoo, produced by Naveed Arshad, Seemeen Naveed, Ayaz Samoo and Emran Hussain under the production banner of Cinematic Media, Big Idea Entertainment, Aksbandh follows six friends who set out on an fun adventure trip to Larkana, Sindh, to make a small found footage film, where things take a dark turn and they find themselves in danger.

The cast includes Ayaz Samoo, Saud Imtiaz, Danial Afzal, Bilal Yousufzai, Shehzeen Rahat, Mahrukh Rizvi and Arshad Ali. Most of them are not well-known names of the industry, but Ayaz Samoo has worked in spy thriller, 021 and Moor, for the latter he received AFA Best Actor in a Negative Role.

Talking to Dawn Images, Ayaz Samoo revealed, “When we started our script, there were only two characters instead of six. We incorporated more characters in order to make things more exciting and interesting. With fewer characters, there was a chance of monotony, something we wanted to avoid.”
On TV, Ayaz Samoo has mostly done comedy shows. “I left comedy to pursue serious roles, but it still remains my first love, I started my career as a standup comedian but wasn’t getting comedy roles on the silver screen. In Aksbandh, I saw my chance to do comedy on the big screen and I created the character of Sunny. I wanted the producers to know that I could still do comedy even after getting the Best Villain trophy at the ARY Film Awards. This was the right time to get back to the pavilion.”

The film was released across Pakistani cinemas on May 20, 2016.
