Pakistani dramas are watched all over the world. Their realistic stories, non-glamorous looks of the leads and the foremost leading couple’s chemistry is what makes these dramas a hit with the audiences. In recent times, we have seen all the big hits were attributed to the magic that the leading pair was able to bring to the screens. Mere Humsafar, Tere Bin, Jaan Nisar and even Khaie are examples of some dramas that won with the leading on-screen pairs. The audience always loves fresh pairings and here are some potential on-screen couples that everyone will fall in love with if the makers bring them together:
Feroze Khan And Sarah Khan
Feroze Khan is a fan favourite. He became a hit when he appeared with Sajal Aly in Gul e Rana and the sizzling chemistry is what pulled people to the drama. Later on Feroze Khan reached his super stardom with intense characters in dramas Khaani and Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3. All these dramas are remembered first and foremost for the magic between the leads.
Sarah Khan on the other hand always manages to create chemistry. She was able to bring the sizzle even in dramas like Sabaat and Abdullahpur Ka Devdas where she did not care much about her opposite male lead. These two stars together are sure to create magic and fans will simply eat the drama they will dish out.
Farhan Saeed And Sajal Aly
Farhan Saeed is known as the king of romance in Pakistani dramas. The superstar singer came into acting and never looked back. Be it Arsal and Ajiya in Suno Chanda, Ameera and Taimoor in Udaari or Hamza and Hala in Mere Humsafar, Farhan has the ability to light the screen on fire and imagine him with Sajal Aly and the chemistry these stars can bring.
Sajal Aly on the other hand is a talent no one can deny. She acts with her eyes and manages to attract the audience with some great pairing that she has had in dramas like Yakeen Ka Safar, O Rangreza, Kuch Ankahi and Alif. The duo with magic in their eyes can create magic in a drama for sure.
Ahsan Khan And Ayeza Khan
These two are the strongest performers in the industry. They both have very long careers and they have managed to sustain fame and success throughout that time. Their names attached to any project suddenly increases the expectations of the audiences. To watch them together in an intense drama or even thriller will be a dream come true for their fans.
Fans have always wanted the two to work together as they have the ability to create chemistry even in dramas like Mein and Sukoon. A team-up of these two superstars will be great news for their fans.
Shuja Asad And Hania Aamir
Shuja Asad is a new sensation and he has become a fan favourite after his strong performance as Barlas Khan in Khaie. His chemistry with the opposite character Apanna played by Mahenur Haider has put him on the map. People also loved him in an Eid telefilm with Sohai Ali Abro where he was again able to prove himself despite the short run time.
Hania is right now a superstar and she is a young actress who will pair well with Shuja. Having a pair of two young stars is definitely something that the audience will love and bring freshness to the screens.
Bilal Abbas Khan And Maya Ali
Bilal Abbas Khan just hit it out of the park as he appeared with Durefishan Saleem in Ishq Murshid. The star knows how to create magic and that is something he did in other dramas like Cheekh, O Rangreza and Pyar Ke Sadqay. Watching Bilal with Maya will be a dream come true for both their fans as they both can bring magic on the screens.
Maya Ali also brings chemistry and she has done it with stars like Hamza Ali Abbasi, Bilal Ashraf, Sheheryar Munawar and Ali Zafar. Her pairing with Bilal Abbas Khan will surely be a hit.
Hamza Ali Abbasi And Durefishan Saleem
Hamza Ali Abbasi is the superstar of our industry and he worked very selectively in his career. One thing however that he has done over and over again is make good on-screen chemistry with his leading ladies in all the projects and he manages to shine everytime. Watching him with Durefishan will be an interesting pairing for sure.
Durefishan is just a few projects old but she had good on-screen pairs with Danish Taimoor, Bilal Abbas Khan, Mikaal Zulfiqar and Faysal Quraishi. The starlet will surely compliment Hamza Ali Abbasi and they will be interesting to watch together.
Hamza Sohail And Nadia Jamil
Pakistani dramas need to experiment and come out of run off the mill college student stories. Nadia Jamil is the perfect starlet to bring a story like Dobara or Behadd to life and those who have watched Behadd know how beautifully she brings romance to the screens. Her aura is unmatched and that needs to be utilized by drama makers.
Hamza Sohail is new to the drama world and he is experimenting with different characters. He can surely make a unique story work like Bilal Abbas Khan did and with Nadia Jamil in the picture, sparks can fly.
Shahzad Nawaz And Saba Qamar
Imagine two of the most powerful performers in the country paired together in an action thriller, a revenge drama or even an intense romance and how that will bring all the eyeballs to the screens. A pairing like this does work as we saw in Kabli Pulao when done nicely and tastefully.
Someone needs to bring Saba Qamar and Shahzad Nawaz together on screens as these two can set any stage on fire and bring the intensity that many other actors lack with equal parts oomph and sensitivity.
Imran Abbas And Hiba Bukhari
Hiba Bukhari is the ratings queen as said by Shehreyar Muanwar and one main reason behind this is her ability to create on-screen magic with her leading men in dramas. She has proved her mettle over and over again and to watch her with Imran Abbas will bring a new edge to her performance for sure.
Imran is also the real one who brought the Khuda Aur Mohabbat magic on television and his pairing with Hiba Bukhari in a sweet or dramatic story could do wonders.
Wahaj Ali And Iqra Aziz
Wahaj Ali just gave back to back hits with Tere Bin, Mujhe Pyaar Hua Tha and Mein and what stood out in all three was his ability to bring magical chemistry on screens. Wahaj Ali is probably going to do the same with Maya Ali in Sun Dil Mere and Iqra Aziz just wrapped up Burns Road Ke Romeo Juliet where she was seen representing many social problems while maintainig a cute chemistry with her co-star.
Having these two together cannot just bring romance to the screens but also strong performances that can reach a classic status.

The popularity of Pakistani dramas transcends borders. Lately Pakistani dramas have explored different topics. Wrapping up a drama with a convincing ending is really important. There are so many dramas nowadays which highlight social issues and educate. It is crucial that such dramas should be ended with a strong message. There were so many such Pakistani dramas which started off extremely well but they went off track with every week and they ended in such a way that they left no impact. There were others which had the best endings. A perfect ending of a drama is one which ties all the loose ends perfectly and at the same time says true to its original plot.
Here is the list of recent 10 popular Pakistani dramas with best endings.
Udaari
Udaari was a meaningful drama with hard hitting messages. It dealt with the alarming issue of child sexual abuse and at the same time it explored the journeys of strong women. Udaari had many different tracks, all of which had a positive message. It was a drama which was loved by the viewers not only because of its meaningful storyline but also because of its entertainment value.
The last episode of Udaari was filled with positive messages and many questions that directly identified the reasons because of which a rape victim is unable to go to the authorities to get justice. When this drama aired, all the stories involving the issue of sexual abuse in Pakistani dramas ended with the victim getting married in the end or reconciling with their spouse, Udaari for the first time showed an ending all the viewers were longing to see. Zebu’s (the main protagonist who is raped by her step-father when she is a child) future was shown bright like the shiniest star in the sky because she knew exactly what she wanted from life. Zebu’s story’s ending was the perfect example of the triumph of good over evil; she had been shown as an extraordinary girl who discovered a part of herself she did not know existed only because of everything she went through. Udaari’s ending also showed how important it was for people to support and help each other. This ending was just as meaningful as it was emotional – which is a rare combination.
Dar Si Jati Hei Sila
Thought provoking, gripping, intense and disturbing – dramas like Dar Si Jati Hei Sila don’t just happen overnight but a great deal of hard work goes into making them a success. This drama artfully and unapologetically highlighted many important issues which are most often brushed under the carpet or are not dealt with too seriously. The best part of this drama was that it had so many important messages for the victims as well as for the abusers! This was another one of those dramas which educated and entertained at the same time.
There are few endings which are as powerful as that of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila was. Dar Si jati Hei Sila covered so much from the complications of arranged marriages to the limitations of a joint family system. It also showed how far the main protagonists who were the victims for the longest time (Sila and Sadia) had come and how things had changed in Noor Manzil. Every single scene of this last episode was beautifully penned down and executed perfectly. The realizations and the punishments were also shown convincingly. Although, Dar Si Jati Hei Sila highlighted so many different issues but the makers somehow managed to give it an ending which was justified in every single way.
Kaisa Hai Naseeban
Kaisa Hai Naseeban was an entertaining and popular Pakistani drama which had an important social message. It was popular for its meaningful script and also its engaging story. Kaisa Hai Naseeban was the most watched drama serial ever till 2019. It was the story of a young woman Maryam who gets married to her cousin who is settled abroad. When she goes to Malaysia with her husband and mother-in-law who also happens to be her father’s sister, the reality is really different from what she was promised when she got married. Maryam goes through hell after her wedding but in the end the writer beautifully put forward a really good message.
Kaisa Hai Naseeban showed how important it was for parents to not come under family pressure while marrying their daughters off. There are so many Pakistani girls who get married and go abroad and not all of them have good experiences therefore this was a story which a lot of parents and women could connect to. Unlike many other dramas in which women are shown forgiving their husbands once they apologize, Maryam decided to build her own future based on her own skills. It is rarely ever that the viewers are shown that a woman has a life other than marriage. Most importantly Maryam went through the worst but her story did not end with her being the victim. Kaisa Hai Naseeban not only showed that people pay for their wrongdoings but it also gave all such women out there hope that they have a future even after they have had a past in which they went through the worse. Kaisa Hai Naseeban has the best ending in every way possible.
Meri Guriya
Meri Guriya was an extremely upsetting and powerful drama which kept the viewers coming back for more. It highlighted an important issue of child abuse and murder. The drama had many different tracks but the most important part of this drama was how it ended. It aired at a time when kidnapping and murder of children was a serious issue. Meri Guriya had many important messages for the victims’ families as well as those who are at the helm of affairs.
The most gratifying part of the last episode of Meri Guriya was the verdict and its execution. This verdict gave a clear-cut message which was the need of the hour. This is exactly the way a serial killer and a rapist should be punished and this isn’t something we get to see in our dramas very often.
Zun Mureed
Zun Mureed was anything but run-of-the-mill, even with its relatively slow pace, Zun Mureed had more to offer than many of the fast-paced shows we have seen lately. It was groundbreaking in its own way and definitely impactful. Zun Mureed was a different journey altogether. This was not the first time that we saw a drama on our television channels which dealt with the problems which women face in a male dominated society. This was however the first time that a writer attempted and succeeded in shedding light on the issue that making laws is not enough, ensuring that they get implemented swiftly and most importantly changing the mindset of the people is the biggest challenge. Tabbasum’s journey throughout showed that she had more critics than supporters. On the other hand, there were so many people who endorsed what Sajjad did.
Although giving a drama like Zun Mureed a ‘happy ending’ was no easy feat but the writer did so with great precision. There was an important message for the men in this last episode and perhaps one which was not that easy to accept which is why this drama was criticized a lot too! One of the most important messages in this drama was that women too should be respected and that women can also get hurt or offended just as easily as men do! Relationships come first and ego comes second, if people start sacrificing their relationships to satisfy their egos than the fate which awaits their children was clearly shown in this drama. For all those receptive viewers out there, this drama had a great deal to offer. This was the kind of drama which raised quite a few important questions but at the same answered some too! The drama also showed how the children get affected in such a situation. Children need their parents to work together in order to run the house and make them feel secured was another good message. Zun Mureed was definitely the kind of drama which kept on impressing right till the last scene.
Mera Naam Yousuf Hei
Mera Naam Yousuf Hai was much more than just another love story, it was a beautiful play that showed many aspects of our society from male domination to how religion is used by many for their own selfish ends in a very apt manner. The viewers got to see some very strong willed women paving their own path with all the courage in the world in circumstances that were anything but favorable. The powerful script, soul-stirring dialogues and Mehreen Jabbar’s excellent direction brought out the best in all the actors. The character development throughout the drama remained convincing.
Unlike many dramas penned down by the famous writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, Mera Naam Yousuf Hei had a happy ending. Not only was this ending happy but it also had some great messages. Afia Begum – a woman whose husband never valued her and was involved with another woman who he later got married to – decided to leave her unfaithful and thankless husband in the end. All those people who criticize Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar for forgiving men definitely need to watch this play and most importantly its ending. This last episode kept the viewers at the edge of their seats right till the very end. The dialogues were phenomenal and the best aspect of this last episode was the positive representation of women.
Dil Mom Ka Diya
Dil Mom Ka Diya’s story wasn’t new but the way it was presented on screen won the viewers over completely. The story was about a beautiful yet thankless woman who gets married to an average looking man older than her. Although she gets love and respect from her husband but she does not value any of it. The leading lady of the play Ulfat was presented as a thankless and negative character throughout but the way she gradually realized her wrongdoings was the best part of this drama.
The viewers absolutely loved the ending which showed that in the end everyone gets what they deserve – good or bad. What goes around comes around was an important message of this entertaining play. The last episode of Dil Mom Ka Diya was also extremely emotional. It had so many soul stirring dialogues and situations which won the viewers over completely.
Mubarak Ho Beti Hui Hei
How often do we listen to this phrase ‘mubarak ho beti hui hei’! Yes, hardly ever because usually in our society people only congratulate the parents when they are blessed with a boy. The birth of daughters is usually looked upon as a burden and that is what this drama highlighted. Most importantly, it showed that girls are a true blessing and indeed the parents deserve just as much mubarkbad at the birth of a girl as they do when a boy is born. The story of the drama covered a long period of time showing how a woman who gives birth to 4 girls is kicked out of her house by her husband and ultimately her daughters grow up to be her strength. The story was realistic and its ending was exceptional.
The last episode of Mubarak Ho Beti Hui hei was the best because the man who hated girls, who thought girls were a burden was the one whose mindset changed over time and he saw where he went wrong. Apart from this, the drama showed that how a mother who believes in her daughters does not only bring up daughters who are empowered and sensitive but also changes the way the society perceives girls in general. This ending was beautiful and impactful in every way.
Dil Lagi
Dil Lagi was a different kind of a love story with a female lead like no other. The female lead of this play gave people more to talk about than anything else. Humayun Saeed and Mehwish Hayat’s on-screen chemistry was another reason for the success and popularity of this drama. The great thing about Dil Lagi was that just like all the other plays in this list, Dil Lagi too was extremely entertaining.
Dil Lagi’s last episode was emotional and right till the end the viewers had no idea whether the hero will survive or not. The dialogues were beautifully written. The leading character stayed strong till the end. Viewers who watched Dil Lagi will always remember its last episode.
Muqabil
Muqabil was another one of those dramas which did not only entertain but which also presented more than one powerful message. Muqabil was the story of a young lady who was molested by the man who was trusted by her parents to look after her as a young girl. How this experience early on in her life shaped up her personality and her entire journey was covered so well. Muqabil also had a strong message for all the parents out there in particular and it was put forward in an intelligent manner without putting the viewers to sleep!
The best part of this entire drama was the way it ended. The main protagonist Pareesa decided to talk about her past in a press conference. Pareesa’s mother’s apology was sincere and her actions even more so. The support Pareesa’s family showed and most importantly the change in Pareesa’s personality was shown impeccably well. There was a time when Pareesa could not even mention what happened to her even in front of her parents but now she had the courage to speak out against child abuse in front of millions of people. The whole message of the show was summed up in a very touching manner when Pareesa poured her heart out in front of the press. This was definitely a drama which had the most satisfying ending.
The interesting thing is that most of the dramas in this list were not just entertaining but they also served a higher purpose. It is so important for the writers to end such dramas in a way that they leave a lasting impression. Which popular Pakistani drama do you think has the best ending? Women are called all sorts of names, and they are pushed to play side characters as soon as they hit 40.
Pakistani stars in the past have seen long-running careers with actors like Muhammad Ali and Sultan Rahi playing heroes well into their 50s and 60s. Fahad Mustafa
Fahad Mustafa went from dramas to Jeeto Pakistan and films. He has done a great job and catapulted his career to greater heights. Pakistani stars have faced a hierarchical system in the industry. Many actors and actresses have spoken about it from time to time. Artists are often categorised and typecast from then on. They are not allowed to showcase their talents in other categories. A supporting star will only play supporting roles, and an actor who excelled in a negative character will only get offered negative roles. Even lead stars get similar characters one after the other, and artists are not allowed to experiment with their roles and showcase their range.
Some Pakistani stars, like Imran Ashraf, get that breakout role and shine in lead characters. Imran Ashraf broke from supporting to lead category when he played Bhola in Ranjha Ranjha Kardi. Since then, more actors and actresses have reached the coveted lead position, and some great new faces are here to stay.

Khalil ur Rehman Qamar is one of the most successful writers of the Pakistani showbiz industry. His projects are nearly always hits and he is also known for his very strong personality and controversial opinions. He has claimed himself to be the protector of women’s freedom and he is mostly seen on different shows sharing his thoughts about how women should be. His own life has also been under scrutiny and he is very blunt about calling out things or people whom he did not like.
The writer has many controversies and fights going on within the industry but he is still working and all the big names want to be in his projects. Here is the list of Pakistani stars who are in a state of war with Khalil ur Rehman Qamar:
Mahira Khan
Khalil ur Rehman Qamar started a beef with Mahira Khan after she criticized him on his fight with Marvi Sirmed. She tweeted against him and he started a fight with her. They had worked in Sadqay Tumharay before which was a successful collaboration but Khalil swore to never forgive Mahira Khan for her harsh words. He is still stating that he will not forgive her but she will allegedly do a film titled Mirza Jutt written by KRQ opposite Humayun Saeed.
Marvi Sirmed
The controversial run of Khalil ur Rehman Qamar started on television when he fought with Marvi Sirmed live during a show. They both called each other names and thus started a tirade of the star writer on good women and bad women. He has been asked about Marvi several times over the years and they are still in a state of war and he always condemns her and her opinions.
Haissam Hussain
Haissam Hussain is one of the best directors in Pakistan. The brain behind a phenomenal show like Jo Bichar Gaye, he collaborated with Humayun Saeed and Khalil ur Rehman Qamar in Gentleman. Khalil ended up getting into the war zone again as he disliked how Gentleman was made despite the show doing well on viewership meters. He started criticizing Haissam Hussain and said the director destroyed his writing. He also vowed to never work with him again.
Adnan Malik
Adnan Malik played Khalil ur Rehman Qamar’s character in the drama Sadqay Tumharay. The drama was a big hit and it is considered a modern classic by many. The actor-writer duo had a falling out mainly due to their views on women’s issues. Khalil ended up calling Adnan sexual slurs and Adnan ended up becoming another name on KRQ hit list.
Sonya Hussyn
Sonya Hussyn is another one who came under fire for her comments on Khalil ur Rehman Qamar’s script. She had revealed that she was once offered a role in the blockbuster Mere Paas Tum Ho but she did not agree with the philosophy and turned it down. The writer was not happy with this and ended up saying that Sonya Hussyn is not an actress of the caliber that can work in his scripts.
Saba Qamar
Saba Qamar Zaman came under fire by Khalil ur Rehman Qamar when he made comments on her dress choice at an award show. He said that Saba Qamar could never work in any of his projects because of the way she dresses though he admitted that she is a great talent. She is among the few people on earth who he later apologized to and said that he should not have used those words.
Nauman Ijaz
Nauman Ijaz is one of the biggest stars in Pakistan and Khalil ur Rehman Qamar is a very successful writer. The duo has some old beef which they have never disclosed publicly but they have said everything else under the sun to each other. They have called each other names, put each other down and Khalil ur Rehman Qamar is not too happy with superstar Nauman Ijaz.
Nadia Afgan
Nadia Afgan is another starlet who has always said that she will never work with Khalil ur Rehman Qamar. It seemed to be a simple case of preference at first but she recently revealed that she met Khalil ur Rehman Qamar when she first started acting. The way she saw him speak to her arrogantly and the way he used to behave with others made her realize that he is not the man whom she will ever work with.

Haseeb Hassan is another great talent of Pakistan. He has given some great dramas including Alif to Pakistan. His recent project Sunn Mere Dil was a collaboration with Khalil ur Rehman Qamar and the story of that drama has gotten a lot of backlash. Urwa Hocane
Urwa Hocane is another starlet who has not one but two unfinished projects with Khalil ur Rehman Qamar. She was first signed as the leading lady of his film Kaaf Kangana which was a disaster. Urwa had walked out of that film and never talked about it again. Khalil had called her unprofessional and criticized her. He also said that he let the matter go because he respects Farhan Saeed and his family. She was later supposed to play Hira Mani’s character in Mere Paas Tum Ho and also shot some scenes but later left it.

Pakistani film stars once ruled the entertainment landscape. Films used to come out in several languages and people who shined on the silver screen were treated like royalty. We have seen the golden age of cinemas in Pakistan before films were systematically killed. In the late 90s and early 2000s, Pakistani films were breathing their last but we still had stars who were household names. After films died, many of these superstars went missing from active duty.
In addition to Urdu cinema, Punjabi and Pashto films also had a large number of viewers. With time quality of all films started declining, no more new faces were coming in to take the reins in their hands and many of the big stars who were once loved by fans started becoming irrelevant. But there are a huge number of stars who should never have retired or taken a break from constant filming. Here is a list of actors who should never have stopped acting:
Shaan Shahid
Shaan Shahid is the biggest film star of Pakistan. Making his debut with Bulandi, he worked on countless hits in his career. Shaan is among the Pakistani film stars who stuck with the idea of Pakistani films when things were declining everyday. He made a powerful comeback when he appeared as Mansoor in Khuda Ke Liye. His stint as Mujtaba in Waar further cemented his position as the superstar that he was in the current generation. Shaan did a few more films which did not work on the box office but the actor should have not stopped working. He is a force to be reckoned with. He has been working behind the scenes but nothing big has come out yet. As big of a Pakistani film star that Shaan is, he should always be a part of the screens one way or the other.
Reema Khan
Reema Khan is another big name of the old Lollywood. A film star who always worked in quality films. She took a break from acting after she got married to Dr Tariq Shahab and shifted to the USA. She is also a powerful star who could have changed the landscape of Pakistani entertainment if she kept actively working. She has the beauty, spark and grace and she should make a comeback soon either through film or television.
Babra Sharif
Babra Sharif is hands down the most famous film star of Pakistan. She is a star for all generations and everyone knows her. She stopped acting very early on as she did not agree much with the work that was being produced. But a talent like hers leaving the industry affected the whole ecosystem and had a bad effect on how entertainment progressed in Pakistan.
Moammar Rana
Moammar Rana is another big Pakistani film star who was ruling the industry once. He was the king of romance and fans loved his looks and talent. The decline of films hit him as well and he did not reinvent himself with the new era. He sporadically does films now but he should have either taken the TV route or made his own films as he is a talented star despite being n controversies lately.
Meera
Meera was once one of the most successful film stars in Pakistan. She later transitioned to television, which is how her identity should have been defined. Unfortunately, the constant controversies surrounding her English language skills and her marriages overshadowed her career. Meera demonstrated her talent once again in the film “Baaji,” and her body of work should have been more consistent and meaningful, rather than being dominated by controversies that only brought her fleeting attention.
Resham
Resham is another actress whose screen presence cannot be denied. She started her career at PTV and shifted to films later on. She achieved massive success there, and she later on, once again, made a comeback to television and did shows like Man o Salwa. The actress is a force to be reckoned with, and she should have worked consistently. She recently appeared in Gunjal and once again reminded everyone why she was such a big star. Another Pakistani film star who should never have given up on her big stardom.
Ali Zafar
Ali Zafar is the rockstar of Pakistan. He is doing great in music but he has a natural talent in acting. He worked in many Bollywood films and achieved success. He also became the star who made Pakistan’s first non-Eid release hit with Teefa In Trouble. He has since been missing from acting and stardom, which he should have been used to pull the audience to cinemas. The actor Ali Zafar needs to make a comeback in and he should not put this department on the back burner any further.
Fawad Khan
Fawad Khan is, after all, a Pakistani star and he holds the star power like no other. Despite doing only The Legend of Maula Jatt as his big project in more than a decade, he is still relevant. He needs to actually start working in Pakistan. He can at least release his Neelofar with Mahira Khan, as that would be a big surprise for his fans. Stardom like this should be used in the correct frame of time.
Ones Who Got It Right
Stars like Nadeem Baig, Babar Ali, Faisal Rehman, Saima Khan, and Sana Fakhar moved with the times. They evolved, and with either television or modern films, they kept in touch with their audience. They have a much bigger stardom now and they are associated with good projects, as these stars have the power to say no if a project is bad, something that a newcomer cannot do. Their talent is not wasted; watching them work makes their fans happy.
Conclusion
The big Pakistani film stars stopped working, destroying the film industry and creating a monopoly in the drama world. These stars were in a position of power, and if they worked constantly, they could have brought in better evolution in storytelling. They could say no to bad scripts, and that power could have further strengthened the entertainment and broken the power structure of a few production houses. Many of these stars still need to make a comeback and work for the betterment of entertainment if not anything else.
Despite of the low quality lollywood movies, Pakistan has always managed to provide its audience with the quality entertainment in shape of dramas. Though the country has got a huge list of successful dramas on its credit, there are some of the very precious dramas that are truly cherished by the viewers of Pakistan, regardless of age and interest.

Zard Patton Ka Bunn is a new offering by Hum TV starring Sajal Aly and Hamza Sohail in the lead. It is a relevant and responsible story that is raising awareness on various issues concerning society. Written by Mustafa Afridi and directed by Saife Hassan, Zard Patton Ka Bunn is winning hearts left, right, and center and all the characters on the show are beautifully crafted and important. Kashf Foundation always comes up with responsible stories which show women empowerment and leave strong and beautiful messages for the audience.
Zard Patton Ka Bunn is impressive and here is a list of 10 Pakistani dramas you should watch if you are loving this one:
Udaari
Udaari is another Hum TV drama that was co-produced by Kashf Foundation. Udaari can be hailed as a game changer for Pakistani dramas as it laid the foundation for social messaging in dramas once again when we had fallen into the Star Plus trap of conniving or mere love stories with triangles. The way Ahsan Khan portrayed the negative character in Udaari made it a mega-hit and also brought forward the taboo topic of child rape. This crime is increasing day by day in Pakistan. Udaari was directed by Mohammad Ehteshamuddin and written by Farhat Ishtiaq. It is a must-watch for those loving Zard Patton Ka Bunn.
Rehaai
Rehaai is another collaboration between Kashf Foundation and Hum TV. The drama released in 2013 and highlighted the child marriage epidemic in Pakistan. How this affects the health of the girls involved and the pain and obstacles they face due to the punishment they get for life. It also spoke about how women with infertility are treated in Pakistan and how patriarchy controls the whole world around us. With Nauman Ijaz, Maria Wasti, Samina Peerzada, Danish Taimoor, and Saniya Shamshad in the series, this is a winner through and through and will leave you elated and enlightened. Rehaai should also be on the list of all Danish Taimoor fans as the actor showed his true potential in Rehaai. Rehai was written by Farhat Ishtiaq and directed by Mehreen Jabbar.
Dil Na Umeed Tou Nahi
Written by Amna Mufti and directed by Kashif Nisar, Dil Na Umeed Tou Nahi addressed the problems of human trafficking and forced prostitution among other things. Aakhri Station
Aakhri Station was a collaboration between Sarmad Khoosat and Kashf Foundation. It was a mini-series and aired on ARY Digital. Hum Tum
Saima Akram Chaudhary wrote and Danish Nawaz directed this Ramadan special in 2022. The star cast included Ahad Raza Mir, Ramsha Khan, Sarah Khan, and Junaid Khan. It was a very refreshing drama with all the ladies of the show as strong as Zard Patton Ka Bunn’s Meenu. This drama also had some very supportive men and it gave a message of women empowerment enveloped in comedy.
O Rangreza
O Rangreza is another project that has Sajal Aly weaving magic on the screens. Bilal Abbas Khan also became a mainstream star after this drama’s success. Written by Saji Gul and directed by Kashif Nisar, O Rangreza is the story of a girl who takes a stand for herself and does not care how society thinks of her. It also showed how hypocritical men are while women always get the sharp end of the stick.
Yaqeen Ka Safar
Yaqeen ka Safar is the story of justice, determination, and importance of education and supportive parenting. This show is still fresh in everyone’s memory and before you fall in love with Dr Nofil, go and meet Dr Asfandyar. Yes, we are already falling in love with the dads of Zard Patton Ka Bunn. But if you love Meenu and Nofil’s father then go ahead and watch Inkaar. Yumna Zaidi, Imran Ashraf, and Rehan Sheikh starrer Inkaar is the story of resilience and shows how a woman can fight for justice when she wills and how a father’s support takes her to places. A must-watch for everyone, Inkaar is written by Zafar Mairaj and directed by Kashif Nisar.
Zindagi Gulzar Hai
The story of a woman Rafia played by Samina Peerzada and how she brings up three daughters into successful human beings, it is one story that people will always love and resonate with. All these dramas are available on YouTube to stream. So get to watching good content for the whole week before a new episode of Meenu’s adventures come out!
Pakistani dramas are loved globally. In addition to good and relatable storylines, suitable editing, and direction, the cast also plays an important role in any show’s success. Sometimes, a good cast combination can take a good show to greatness, both in the minds of fans and on TRP charts.
As soon as a big drama is announced, fans want to know the cast of the show. Having big and trending names helps any drama grab more eyeballs. Lately, however, this is not working with fans. Some excellent casting choices were wasted on average to below-average scripts. The biggest names as leads could not save these mid-scripts, and they suffered a decline in both ratings and views.
Here is a list of dramas that disappointed fans despite having a great star cast:
Agar Tum Saath Ho
Agar Tum Saath Ho is a Pakistani drama that aired on Hum TV in the prime time slot. The show came at the tail of Sanam Teri Kasam becoming a big hit on its re-release. Mawra Hocane was all over the news for her Bollywood success, and she also got married to the love of her life, Ameer Gilani. Both Mawra and Ameer were leading Agar Tum Saath Ho alongside Zaviyar Naumna Ijaz. The show still turned out to be a major flop as the story was nonsensical, and the drama could not win over the audience. Thus, even having a real-life trending couple could not save a show with a bad script.
Dil Wali Gali Mein
Dil Wali Gali Mein is another Pakistani drama that was highly anticipated. The show had Kashif Nisar in the director’s chair while Sajal Aly and Hamza Sohail were leading the show. They had just given a hit in Zard Patton Ka Bunn, and they were coming back for an Eid show. The drama had many themes that were important and well-executed, but fans could not relate to it. It did average and did not reach the heights it was expected to reach.
Ek Jhooti Kahani
Ek Jhooti Kahani is a new Pakistani drama that premiered on Hum TV, featuring the fresh pairing of Mohib Mirza and Zara Noor Abbas. Zara previously captured the audience’s attention in Standup Girl, while Mohib impressed viewers with his performance as Hasan in Jafaa. However, despite its lighthearted and comedic tone, Ek Jhooti Kahani has not resonated with the audience, and many viewers feel it falls flat.
Hijr
Another Pakistani drama that aired on Hum TV was Hijr. The show starred Imran Abbas, who is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in the country. He was paired with Hina Altaf, a talented performer with a strong following. Despite having a good cast and airing on one of the top three channels, the drama struggled to capture the audience’s attention.
Humraaz
Humraaz is a Pakistani drama that was anticipated from the moment its cast was announced. The drama boasts names like Ayeza Khan, Feroze Khan, and Zahid Ahmed in the lead cast. Fans were awaiting the drama’s arrival, but it ended up becoming a disaster as soon as it was released. It is once again a testament to how no drama without a good script will work, even if you cast the top stars of the country.
Mehshar
Mehshar is a Pakistani drama featuring a large star cast, including the popular actors Imran Abbas and Neelam Muneer. The two have collaborated successfully in the past, but their pairing in Mehshar did not resonate with viewers. Despite airing on Geo TV, the drama failed to achieve the success that was anticipated. Neelam Muneer was trending at the time due to her recent marriage, but even that buzz couldn’t salvage the drama’s performance.
Meri Tanhai
Kubra Khan as the leading lady, Azaan Sam Khan opposite her as a new face, a drama shot in London, what could go wrong? But things still did not work out for this experimental Pakistani drama on Hum TV. The show completely failed to engage the audience and went unnoticed.
Raaja Rani
Raaja Rani is a Pakistani drama starring Faysal Quraishi and Hina Afridi. The show features a cinematic storyline and has sparked controversy over the age difference between the lead characters, as well as Faysal Quraishi’s impressive acting skills. On paper, everything seemed to be in place for Raaja Rani to become a blockbuster hit. However, it ultimately performed at an average level. Fans struggled to connect with the story, which contributed to its status as just another average show.
Shirin Farhad
Hum TV experimented with the story of old Lollywood, featuring Farhan Saeed and Kinza Hashmi in lead roles. The drama generated anticipation due to Farhan Saeed’s reputation as the King of Romance. While the supporting cast was strong, the script occasionally lacked coherence. Despite the presence of big stars, Shirin Farhad went largely unnoticed and failed to win over the audience.
Sunn Mere Dil
Sunn Mere Dil was a Pakistani drama that aired on Geo TV. The show featured prominent actors such as Wahaj Ali and Maya Ali in leading roles. The supporting cast included well-known performers like Hira Mani, Usama Khan, Amar Khan, and Saba Hameed. However, the writing of the story and the performances of the actors were considered nonsensical, leading to significant backlash. As a result, the drama failed to meet the expectations that viewers had for a collaboration between Khalil ur Rehman Qamar and Haseeb Hassan.

Everytime a drama features a real life couple, it automatically draws the attention of their fans towards the project and helps a lot in creating a lot more hype, which adds more to the success of the show. Celebrities also wait for the right project which allows both the people involved to showcase their talent to their full potential, where the characters are such which will make people fall in love with them and their work will get appreciated. Over the years, the celebrity couples have opened up a lot more to the idea of working together, they like to be seen together on screen and make the most of their popularity to bring their projects and dramas a lot more success and viewership.
Here are 10 Pakistani dramas that have featured 10 real life couples:
Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Aly in Ye Dil Mera

The fans of both Ahad and Sajal loved their chemistry and enjoyed watching them together on-screen. It was because of the popularity of Yakeen Ka Safar that people wanted to see them together in real life too. A few months later, the dream of their fans came true when they made it public that they were a couple.

Iqra Aziz and Yasir Hussain got married in December 2019. The couple dated for a few months and then got engaged in a private ceremony as well as publicly when Yasir Hussain decided to propose Iqra Aziz once again at Hum Style Awards. Before the couple got married, they started shooting for drama serial Jhooti and was probably the only project they did together before tying the knot. Now Jhooti is on-air and Iqra Aziz and Yasir Hussain’s track has very much begun. It is not going to be a love story full of rainbows and roses because Iqra Aziz is playing a negative character and so is Yasir Hussain. However, it is good to see the couple on screen in their first project together.

Their timing and flawless portrayal of emotions in every single scene is a treat for the viewers.
Farhaan Saeed and Urwa Hocane in Udaari
Farhaan Saeed and Urwa Hocane are very selective when it comes to picking dramas. They both were lucky to have signed a project like Udaari which was groundbreaking and probably one of the best dramas of the year it was aired in. After Hira took acting as a career, Yakeen Ka Safar was the very first project in which she appeared with Mani. Mani played the character of Dr. Haroon, which was appreciated by the fans because of the nature of the character. In the later stages of the drama, Hira and Mani were seen together where Haroon starts to take interest in Gaiti played by Hira. The cherry on top was Hira and Mani’s younger son Ibrahim, who played the role of Gaiti’s son from her previous marriage to Daniyal. Their scenes were a treat to watch and all there was effortlessness in their portrayal of Gaiti and Haroon.

Alizeh and Naoman turned out to be quite lucky that a drama in which they appeared together for the first time is doing so well in terms of ratings and popularity. Although Mairah and Shahmeer have drifted apart, it does seem likely that they might end up together in the end, this is yet to be seen.
Faizan Sheikh and Maham Amir in Ready Steady Go

This completes the list of 10 Pakistani dramas that have featured real life celebrity couples of Pakistani drama industry. Which one of these couples are your favorite and which of their projects have you followed? Feel free to share your opinion in the comment section below.
Pakistani dramas have increased in popularity over the last decade. A new wave of fans has discovered how great the shows can be. Though the dramas went through a bad patch with repetitive stories, lately there has been improvement in stories and performances. Many new actors have also come into the business who are taking their script choices seriously and experimenting with their characters.
Styling is another aspect that is a very important part of any project. How the actors look impacts the overall experience of fans. There are many young actors now in Pakistani dramas who are foregoing vanity and styling their characters according to the story. They change their looks for each project, and they are not stuck in the hero or heroine mode.
Here is the list of young Pakistani drama actors who take styling seriously:
Shuja Asad
Shuja Asad is a new star of Pakistani dramas who has won the audience’s favour in a short period. With College Gate came a new string of actors, and Shuja was one among them. He hooked the audience with his strong performance in Khaie. He was savage yet innocent as Barslas Khan. His mannerisms, the way he took on that character, and his styling were a few features that played in his favour. Shuja has spoken about how he wants to play diverse characters and does not want just to be a hero. He then appeared in Tan Man Neeo Neel and Aye Ishq e Junoon. Both these characters were very different according to a styling perspective. Shuja had to play a poor and struggling young dancer in Tan Man Neelo Neel. In Aye Ishq e Junoon, he was a rich brat with no remorse for his crimes. He once again nailed the styling of both characters flawlessly.
Sabeena Farooq
Sabeena Farooq is another young talent in Pakistani dramas. She started with a supporting character in Suno Chanda and gradually grew into a big name. She has gained fame and success based on her great performances. The actress has worked in some diverse scripts and performed characters from different backgrounds. Unlike many other young actresses, Sabeena cares more about her character’s styling and not hers. She wore those Afghan Chaddars with no makeup on her face in Kabli Pulao. Her Tere Bin character’s styling was true to the story. In Mann Jogi, she let herself go and adorned the shabbiest shalwar kameez. She had dust on her face in several scenes. Sabeena Farooq is another young Pakistani drama star who unapologetically takes on a difficult character even when it is not ultra-stylish.
Khushhal Khan
Khushhal Khan is also not very old in the Pakistani drama world. He started his acting career in mainstream dramas with Qissa Meherbano Ka. He has since been a part of shows like Mohabbat Gumshuda Meri, Barzakh, and Duniyapur. The young actor has sported different avatars in all his projects. He did not stumble while wearing that weird wig in Mohabbat Gumshuda Meri. Barzakh had a vintage look. Duniyapur, on the other hand, showed him in a very different style. His look was dark and menacing. He had to look older than his real age. He managed to pull off all these looks well and experimented successfully every time.
Nameer Khan
Nameer Khan has recently joined the Pakistani drama industry. He is two projects old, but he managed to win the audience regardless. The actor made his debut as Rayan Jaffar in Mein. The character was a brat with no regard for himself or his family. Nameer brought it to life with the perfect wardrobe and attitude. He looked rich and unkempt at the same time, which was a demand of the character. His recent stint in Qarz-e-Jaan ended up becoming a fan favourite. His styling played a vital role in the success of his character. Though many of the characteristics were similar in both roles, Nameer made them look different through nuances in his styling.
Dananeer Mobeen
Dananeer Mobeen got fame after her Pawri Horahi Hai video. She started her Pakistani drama career with Sinf e Aahan. People loved her performance in that show, and she got offers for lead roles. She starred in Mohabbat Gumshuda Meri and Meem Se Mohabbat next. All these characters were very different in style. Sinf e Aahan had a girl with Hijab, in Mohabbat Gumshuda Meri Dananeer kept her look very urban and modern, her shift to sobriety later on in the show was very visible. Roshi in Meem Se Mohabbat has her own style. Dananeer nailed them all, and none looked like her in real life, which is a feat.
Ali Raza
Ali Raza has been part of Pakistani dramas like Mohabbat Gumshuda Meri, Noor Jahan, Duniyapur, Iqtidar, and Dastak. The actor is not too old in the industry, but has managed to make waves. He has worked on his craft and improved with each show. Ali Raza also works on styling his characters, which brings more substance to his performances. In his last few shows, he sported very different looks. From a normal guy working for his family’s business in Noor Jahan to a gangster in Duniyapur, a young politician in Iqtidar, and now an upper-middle-class man in Dastak, all his characters have looked different.
Anmol Baloch
Anmol Baloch is another actress who has been ruling the Pakistani drama industry. She has made quite a name for herself in a short time. She likes to bring style to all her characters, whether they are poor or rich. She curates wardrobes based on her character’s personality. This makes her stand out every time. Recently, her wardrobe in Iqtidar was loved by everyone. She looked like a confident, young girl who was ready to take on the world due to her on-point styling. Meanwhile, her styling showed a bratty side in her drama Siyani.
Momina Iqbal
Momina Iqbal is beautiful and talented. She has experimented with both positive and negative roles in her career. She started as a model, and she has used her fashion knowledge to make her characters unique. She works on the styling of all her characters. Her recent shows, Dastak and Do Kinaray, show how she was able to make them look completely different from each other. From hair styles to clothing, Momina Iqbal brings her uniqueness to her characters.
Sehar Khan
Sehar Khan is another young talent in Pakistani dramas. She is like a chameleon, and she has shown her range with her projects. She also worked on her characters’ styling. From dressing up like a young Gen Z, urban girl in Fairy Tale to a girl stuck in a marriage in Jafaa, she showed her prowess in acting as well as styling her characters. In her recent Tan Man Neelo Neel, she nailed it with her styling and looked like a girl from interior Rawalpindi.
Durefishan Saleem
Durefishan Saleem is a young star of Pakistani dramas. She has managed to win the audience in a relatively short period of time. The starlet has worked hard on keeping her characters unique. Alongside choosing good scripts, she diligently kept styling differently for all her characters. In Jaisay Aapki Marzi, she looked like the shocked wife of a rich man. Her outfits looked expensive, but she was still unkempt and all over the place. The styling showcased the character’s mindset. She was a confident student/youth in Ishq Murshid, and her looks commanded independence. In Khaie, she looked like a Pashtun girl with her chaddars and traditional outfits.

Characterization is the most important aspect in story-telling. For any story to work, it is the utmost need of the script to have strong and such kind of characters who do not only do justice to the plot and theme of the drama, as well as have a strong personality. In every single drama, there are good and negative characters because they are the demands of the script and also help the writer in depicting the story in a well-rounded manner. A writer makes any character realistic when they add a lot of layers and personality and not just stick to the black and white approach. This is the why, at times even the negative characters are not disliked by the audience because they are written with a lot more clarity and their reasonings are explained.
There are also such characters who do not serve any purpose whatsoever and end up just being the most annoying fillers in the drama. Such characters do not have anything going for them and anything they say or do has no effect on the story. There is also another category of characters which are hated for all the right reasons and because they have such strong personalities and standing in the story, they depict what it’s like to be around such people in real life. Then the writers also come up with the most exaggerated and over the top personalities which make it very hard for the viewers to connect to them.
In any story or drama, for a character to work, it is very important that they have a solid reasoning to back the way they behave. Clarity is also one of the main elements in writing the characters so that the viewers can understand them better. Pakistani dramas have had quite a few characters that were hated by the audience, sometimes for the genuine reasons, which goes to show that the writers evoked the justified emotion in the audience and then the viewers also hated those characters who did not have anything going for them.
Here are the 10 characters that the audience loved to hate:
Mehwish (Mere Pass Tum Ho)
This character was not only difficult for the audience to digest but also written in such a manner that showed that such people do exist in the society who destroy the lives and do not even worry about the consequences. Mehwish’s character was hated for a lot of reasons and the writer Khalil ur Rehman Qamar exactly wanted the same reaction out of the viewers who watched the drama. This was one such character which sparked a debate amongst the audience where some justified her wrongdoings but the majority of the viewers saw her for who she was; a gold-digger and an adultress who did not mind a live-in relationship because she was getting the perks that came with it.
The writer skillfully showed how such women feel entitled to have things their way and when nothing works, they also feel entitled to forgiveness. Mehwish’s weakest personality trait was that she never once regretted what she did and in fact kept on wondering why it was so hard for her ex-husband Danish to forgive her. She never held herself responsible for the damage that she had done and the few tears she shed were only because she fell flat on her face and did not know what to do. This was one such character which was conceived with a lot of clarity and made people hate her, exactly why it was written for. No wonder why Ayeza Khan felt it was one of the most difficult characters to portray.
Jameel (Aangan)
This was another character which was beyond viewers’ understanding for what he wanted from his life and how selfish he was. Jameel was a poorly conceived and written character who did not have a spine to fend for himself and loved mooching off of others because he knew he was unable to do anything for himself without their support. Jameel was also the one who exploited the blind love that his cousin had for him and kept on giving her the pep talks to get her to finance his education.
It did not take much for Jameel to move on from Chammi to Tehmina whom he had never met and after she passed away, Jameel pounced on Aaliya, pestering her to fall in love with him. Later when things did not work and because he was left with no other option, he ends up with Chammi, who herself comes after surviving a torturous and abusive marriage. Although fans loved seeing Ahad Raza Mir as Jameel, it still did not help them in turning a blind eye to the fact that this character was heavily flawed and really bad.
Ammar (Khaas)
This was one such character which the writer intelligently used to depict what narcissistic husbands put their wives through while carrying a facade of being an ideal husband in front of others. Ammar was a strongly written character which actually did justice to the sensitivity that was attached to it and the scenarios that kept on unfolding due to his antics. Amaar failed to see the fault in him and unfortunately, had a lot of people surrounding him who kept on justifying his wrongdoings for him, feeding his ego and blinding him to his shortcomings. All the things Ammar put Saba through, that too without acknowledging the wrongs he commits were enough for the viewers to hate him.
Ammar’s character is a perfect example of how the writers can use negative character to bring awareness and be the voice for those whose reality is very much similar to what Saba was experiencing. Such characters are hated for the right reasons and it goes to show that negative characters also serve a purpose and are not used by the writers to only grab ratings. This was definitely one of the strongest performances of Ali Rehman’s career till date.
Nimra (Jhooti)
Nimra is a one-dimensional character which has all the wrong things going for her. She is a pathological liar and a kleptomaniac and not only that, she doesn’t mind manipulating her own parents for her selfish reasons. Nimra’s character is not only annoying but highly exaggerated. It seems that the only purpose with which the writer wrote this character and story was to get as much ratings out of it as possible because other than that, the story has nothing new to offer and the continuous dose of negativity is mind-numbing.
It is already predictable that Nimra will end up paying the price for her wrongdoings but what’s the purpose is it going to serve when that is going to happen in the last couple of episodes after a heavy dose of unethical behavior displayed for so many weeks. An over-the-top negative character which is hated because of poor writing and poorer characteristics. After Ranjha Ranjha Kardi, the fans of Iqra Aziz did not expect or even wanted to see her in a drama like Jhooti.
Zeeshan (Kahin Deep Jalay)
One of the most resented characters from the recent Pakistani dramas is Zeeshan. The writer used this character to show the insecurities and complexes of a weak man, but he ended up looking like a coward who could not man up to own his mistakes and decided to observe chup ka roza. In the entire second half of the drama, Zeeshan probably had a couple of dialogues per episode and the rest of the time, he was seen hovering around the city in black salwar kameez, trying to show he was so upset with life.
For starters, he had an issue with his wife being loved by her family, then had a problem with her wealthy background. Although Rida did everything to make him happy, he found it very easy to accuse her of infidelity and when she proved that she was not guilty of such a heinous act, he wanted her to forgive him just like that. This is the reason viewers loathed the character of Zeeshan and did not also appreciate the way it was portrayed by Imran Ashraf because they could see the residues of Bhola in his performance, which people think he should snap out of ASAP.
Shaheena (Mera Dil Mera Dushman)
There are negative characters, then there are super negative characters, then there are those who put negativity to shame and then come the likes of Shaheena who take negativity to such a level that even negativity feel shy of being this negative. Negative characters are never a problem for the viewers to absorb and handle but then characters like Shaheena who suffer from verbal diarrhea are impossible to handle. It won’t be wrong to say that all the scenes of this character are depressing and unbearable to watch. Negative characters do look realistic when they have a few other shades but in this case, the only shade she has is the shade of negative.
The fate of this character is so predictable that it shows she has been used by the writer to grab the ratings. She is pregnant at the moment and even let her mother in law suffer and die, when she could’ve been taken to the hospital by her sister in law Maira. Shaheena will obviously end up losing her child, her husband and the roof over her head, anything new? No!
Munazzah (Thora Sa Haq)
She was a master manipulator who only wanted to own things that never belonged to her. Munazzah was a weak character but more than that, she was a mother no one wishes to have. In order to please the people around, she kept on treating her son as an after-thought. The happiness of Zamin was never her priority and she kept on committing all the wrongdoings because she wanted to stay in the home that was owned by Rabia.
In the end, after the dust settled, Munazzah could’ve easily stayed with Rabia to look after her because no matter what, Rabia allowed her to stay in her home for decades but Munazzah turned a blind eye and immediately remembered her son was now settled and had his own place. Munazzah always came up with evil plans but let Rabia pull the trigger and take the front seat, this way she kept on fooling everyone to believe how nice she was but the viewers were intelligent enough to see through her snakey-ness.
Taimoor (Balaa)
All his life, he was raised by a loving mother and all his life, he hated his cousin Nigar because before getting married to her, he was aware of her shortcomings and evil personality traits. Unfortunately, he failed to maintain a balance after his marriage and started doubting his mother’s intentions only because his wife said so. All the mishaps that his family members went through were easily blamed on his wife Nigar and it was completely ignored by the writer that Taimoor had a major role to play in giving Nigar the edge to do so. Right when his mother was at the most vulnerable state, he decided to go abroad for the sake of his job, entrusting his mother’s well-being on his wife whom he clearly knew had a problem with her.
In the end, Taimoor devised a plan to drive Nigar crazy and luckily got away from this mess scot-free. It is unfortunate that the writer gave a clean chit to such an irresponsible son who kept on making one mistake after another. Nigar was the same person because of whom he didn’t mind straining his relationship with his mother, so after her passing, why couldn’t he forgive her and work on mental well-being because no matter what, she was the mother of his child. Not only that, Taimoor was so lucky that he got married to his lady love as well. It was a loathsome character for sure but the fact that Bilal Abbas Khan played it kept the heat from Taimoor away.
Saira (Mai Na Janoo)
A self-proclaimed bechari who couldn’t look past her bechargi because she was so used to the idea of being a bechari. All her life, Saira saw her father being torn between his wives and mother, she felt unloved and lonely but after she got married to her cousin who adored her and more than that, trusted her with all his heart, Saira continued with her sneaky ways because being a bechari that she was, she could not tell her husband that her ex-boyfriend Nihaad was blackmailing her. Saira’s bechargi was so much that she was forced to celebrate her birthday at midnight in a romantic setting arranged by Nihaad.
Her husband Nain kept on reiterating that he loved and trusted her, he wanted her to be free and independent. He kept on fighting everything that came her way, yet she chose to insult and degrade him because of her own stupidity because as per her own twisted logic, she was following Nihaad’s orders only to keep her family safe? Saira’s antics were annoying and far more resentful than what the supposed villain of the drama Nihaad was doing to her. The viewers did not have a hard time hating her character and Sanam Jung’s forced and poor acting was a huge reason too.
Zoya (Kashf)
At this stage where Pakistani drama industry is thriving and doing so well in terms of popularity, the last thing viewers want to see is a younger sister being madly in love with the fiance of her elder sister. Zoya is not only in love with Wajdan but she doesn’t mind holding her feelings back. She continues to make passes at him which are uncomfortable to watch and do not show the relationship of sister and brother-in-law in a good light.
Eventually Zoya will get married to Wajdan but then she will turn his life into a living hell because she will see him still being in love with Kashf. Out of all the people in this world, why did she have to chase after the guy who is already in love with someone, that too her own sister? Sabeena Farooq has given a convincing performance but the character itself is despicable.
This completes the list of the characters the viewers have loved to hate. Which of these characters have you resented? Feel free to share your opinion in the comment section below.
Pakistani drama viewers have recently come across a lot of beautifully written characters that they fell in love with. It is nothing short of a treat for those drama buffs who invest time in dramas, to watch and live the journey of such characters, who have a lot to offer. Pakistani drama writers are known for coming up with such characters who are strong and have well-rounded personalities. Quite often, the viewers end up not liking a character which the drama writers assume they would, this goes to show that drama viewers like watching realistic characters with positive traits.
The story of any drama is based upon the journeys of these central characters and everything related to them. In quite a few recent dramas, viewers got to see these extraordinary characters who were conceived with clarity and were given complete personalities by the writers. A lot of times, good writing and then the way the characters are carried out play an important role in making them memorable.
Here are 10 characters from recent Pakistani dramas that viewers loved:
Abdul Ala (Alif)
Dada Jaan for Qalb e Momin and Abdul Ala for Pakistani drama viewers, this was a beautiful character that the viewers of drama serial Alif got to witness. His kindness and acceptance towards Qalb e Momin was heartwarming. Abdul Ala had regrets; he lost his son because of his stubbornness and preconceived notions about his daughter in law Husn e Jahan. Abdul Ala’s journey showed that accepting one’s faults and trying to do what it takes to rectify them is of utmost importance.
Abdul Ala knew that he lost his son Taha because of his irrational choices, therefore he did all he could to help Husn e Jahan. He resorted to a completely different approach when it came to his grandson Qalb e Momin because he knew in order to guide someone, it was mandatory to let them explore and find their path based on their own choices and pace. However, all he did the rest of his life was guide Qalb e Momin in the best manner possible, this is why after he passed away, his grandson realized all the lifelong lessons he had taught him. The dialogues of Abdul Ala were beautifully written and this character was portrayed phenomenally by Manzar Sehbai.
Saad (Ehd e Wafa)
It was after 2 decades that Pakistani viewers were getting to see an Army based drama with the main story revolving around an Army officer and his life. The viewers were already in for a treat and as the drama progressed with Saad’s journey unfolding, they found more and more reasons to fall in love with him. Saad was a man of his word, he loved helping others out and showed qualities of a true leader. The thing that the viewers loved the most about him was that once he put his mind to something, he would do whatever it takes to achieve it.
This character was not only to show the greatness of the Army officers, but also shed a light on how they are human beings too with families and commitments. They put a lot on the line to serve their country and selflessness is what makes them so great. The writer Mustafa Afridi humanized the Army officers beautifully in Ehd e Wafa. Ahad Raza Mir’s brilliant performance also added a lot of charm to this character. Viewers were totally in love with Saad, this is why they cried buckets watching the last episode because they did not want to even imagine anything happening to Saad.
Qalb e Momin (Alif)
Qalb e Momin was a beautiful character written by Umera Ahmed. He was a perfect representation of all those believers who face struggles on a daily basis to stay on track and explore their spirituality. Qalb e Momin was a disturbed child because he saw his parents failing miserably, but because of his grandfather he slowly and steadily found his path and realized that his life had a bigger purpose.
Qalb e Momin’s spiritual struggles were convincingly shown by the writer, this is why his character was easy to relate to. Hamza Ali Abbasi’s presence and acting played a huge role in making this character shine more. The entire journey from a compassionate child to a selfish adult and then someone who was unlearning a lot of things that he had learned over the years made people love this character.
Danish (Mere Pass Tum Ho)
More than love, Pakistani drama viewers felt sympathy for Danish but his presence can not be overlooked because he made quite an impact on the viewers. Danish was shown as a doting husband who could not imagine living a life without his wife, his lady love. Unfortunately, due to the infidelity of his wife, he got to face such harsh realities of life because he could not fathom his love as well as the safe haven he provided to his wife being not enough for her.
Danish’s character showed a lot of mental growth but when it came to his emotional state, it continued to worsen because he actually could not come to terms with the betrayal of Mehwish. This is the reason one of his dialogues broke the internet and viewers could not stop talking about it because after suffering so much, he decided to speak up. This character was complex and had to be portrayed carefully to showcase each and every emotion with clarity and Humayun Saeed proved his caliber as an actor in Mere Pass Tum Ho.
Kashf (Kashf)
Kashf’s character is being loved by Pakistani drama viewers and for all the right reasons. She is an obedient daughter who will do what it takes to make her family happy. Kashf is selfless and she has given up on all the dreams that she once had because she knows they get in the way of her serving her family. Kashf’s character is getting exploited at the hands of her father but she has accepted this as a fate.
There’s a thin line between becoming a bechari and just being submissive, this fine line has been carefully marked by the writer and director. Kashf is not a bechari, she is just someone who would do anything for the sake of her family, but she has set certain limits and conditions for herself. This is why she never misuses the position that she has and only wants what’s best for people around her. Hira Mani is giving a convincing performance in this drama as Kashf and it won’t be wrong to say that she has brilliantly carried it on her shoulders.
Dua (Ehd e Wafa)
It is pretty much a rarity where Pakistani drama viewers get to see such strong female leads who fight the life challenges with courage and do not give up on dreams. Dua’s life was filled with a lot of obstacles and hurdles that she had to overcome in order to be what she wanted to be. Her confidence in herself and dignity with which she carried herself were some of her best personality traits. Through this character, writer Mustafa Afridi also showed that it was also very important for girls to have dreams and aspirations. Getting married and settling is not the only option which is usually heavily promoted in Pakistani dramas.
Dua single handedly dealt with the emotional blackmailing of her relatives, kept herself afloat after the death of her father, looked after her mother and most importantly, did not give up on her dream of becoming a doctor. Her journey was very special and this was Alizeh Shah’s best performance till date.
Ramsha (Dushman e Jaan)
From one of the recent dramas that have started airing, Ramsha’s character has definitely stood out. Although this character was short-lived, the writer Sarwat Nazeer wrote it in such a manner that it made an impact quickly and grabbed the interest of the viewers. Ramsha was fighting her battles, she had to put herself in the world every single day to make a living but without making it obvious to her family, she selflessly did all that she could. Ramsha was unapologetically herself, she was strong and independent.
Although Ramsha had made up her mind that she had to dedicate her life to taking care of her family, she too had emotions and found herself developing feelings for Hatim whom she had recently met. Ramsha was sorted and strong, she knew what she wanted from life. Such characters are a rarity in Pakistani dramas but she definitely was a memorable character. It was good to see Tooba Siddique back on TV after a long time and she gave a very strong performance.
Sameer (Ishq Zahe Naseeb)
Sameer’s character was unique and probably being shown on Pakistani television for the first time. Sameer suffered from identity disorder and was bipolar. The viewers not only loved his character but understood his journey. It was a huge step up and quite an encouragement for the writers to know that the viewers were now open to such characters and wanted to learn more about issues revolving around mental health.
Sameer’s character was not only brilliantly written but he was humanized in such a way that actually made the viewers feel for him a lot. Zahid Ahmed is a fine actor but in Ishq Zahe Naseeb he wowed the viewers like he had never done before. He outdid himself, this is why the viewers wanted to see him recovering and coming to terms with his disorders with the help of Gauhar.
Amaanullah (Ye Dil Mera)
Amaanullah was suffering from PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). He lost his family and saw them getting killed. His life revolved around vengenece where he wanted to avenge his family’s murder. Amaanullah’s character had a lot of shades and each one of them were acted out brilliantly by Ahad Raza Mir. The shift in Amaanullah’s mood and thought process was always a treat to watch and it made the viewers feel for him a lot because they wanted to see him free from these burdens.
This is one of the main reasons why the ending of Ye Dil Mera did not sit well with the viewers because in the end Amaan was made to suffer and did not get a closure from his past. However, as long as the drama lasted, people loved Amaanullah’s character and felt a lot for him.
Mahjabeen (Pyaar Ke Sadqay)
This is yet another character that is loved by all those viewers who have tuned to Pyaar Ke Sadqay. A naive and gullible Mahjabeen who has had only one aspiration in life, that is to get married. She is ruling the hearts of the viewers now. After a long while, viewers got to see such a character whose innocence was the most endearing part of her personality. She has made the viewers feel for her because she is being harassed by people around, yet she is finding it hard to understand.
Mahjabeen on her own is happily married to Abdullah, whom she adores but unfortunately, he is being disloyal to her. It still doesn’t take away her faith that she puts in people because it’s her niceness that she sees in others assuming they are going to reciprocate it as well. Yumna Zaidi has given Mahjabeen’s character a beautiful treatment and her acting has been top-notch throughout the drama. Yumna Zaidi makes you feel for Mahjabeen every step of the way and it is because of her portrayal, that this character is being loved by the viewers.
This completes the list of 10 characters from recent Pakistani dramas that viewers fell in love with. Which of these characters are your favorite? Feel free to share your opinion in the comment section below.

Pakistani celebrity parents have increased in the drama industry as a new generation of star kids have entered the field in the last decade or so. There were not many showbiz families in Pakistan like Bollywood but things are slowly changing and many families are working together in dramas and films now. Many actors and actresses with incredible star power have their children following in their footsteps.
Pakistani celebrity parents with great aura sometimes even overshadow their younger generation. The young stars are also working to establish their place and many of them are loved for their talent and screen presence but the star parents definitely surpass the younger generation in aura and fan following. Here is a list of Pakistani celebrity parents who are cooler than their star kids:
Asif Raza Mir
Asif Raza Mir is the father of young superstar Ahad Raza Mir and the newcomer Adnan Raza Mir. Ahad Raza Mir is a big name among young heroes and he has a huge fan following in and out of Pakistan. He has done some good projects already and the public looks forward to what he will do next. But his father Asif Raza Mir still has way better aura and he captures and steals attention more than his star son. The father-son duo just appeared together in Meem Se Mohabbat and Asif Raza Mir is definitely one celebrity parent who has the ability to overshadow his superstar son.
Nauman Ijaz
Nauman Ijaz is another Pakistani celebrity parent who has a way cooler aura than his son. Nauman Ijaz’s son Zaviyar Nauman Ijaz is also in the drama industry for some time now and he has appeared in a few big projects. People are liking how he is improving his craft but his star father has the ability to grab the audience’s attention like anyone’s business. He is also among a few senior stars who still appear in lead roles and fans love to watch him.
Saba Hameed
Another big name in the cool Pakistani celebrity parents is definitely Saba Hameed. Both her kids Meesha Shafi and Faris Shafi are big stars and they have an extensive fan following. They have both been great in the fields of music and acting in Pakistan but Saba Hameed is on another level altogether. She is not just a great actress on screen but she is also an inspiration for many off the screen. A strong woman with an unmatched aura.
Saba Faisal
Saba Faisal is another Pakistani celebrity who has millions of followers. Starting her career as a newscaster, she has now become the television’s most loved mother and mother-in-law. Her three children Sadia Faisal, Arsalan Faisal and Salman Faisal followed in her footsteps and their mom is definitely the coolest star in the house. This list of cool Pakistani celebrity parents would be incomplete without her.
Javed Sheikh
Javed Sheikh is definitely among the coolest Pakistani celebrity parents. The star ruled over everyone’s hearts since he was a film star and he had a successful run both in cinemas and on television. He is also a star who has worked successfully in Bollywood. Javed Sheikh is known for his style, aura and strong screen presence. He is also very candid and fans love him far more than his children Shahzad and Momal Sheikh who are both established actors.
Zeba Bakhtiyar
Zeba Bakhtiyar and Azaan Sami Khan are the powerhouse Pakistani celebrity mother-son duo. They are both very much loved by their fans. Zeba Bakhtiyar has been impressing her fans for decades now while Azaan is a great addition to the Pakistani music industry. Azaan has been giving some banger songs for the past few years but his mom is way cooler. Her presence alone is enough to overshadow anyone around her. Among all the Pakistani celebrity parents whose presence outshines their star kids, Zeba Bakhtiyar is an undisputed queen.
Rahat Kazmi
Rahat Kazmi is considered the OG heartthrob of Pakistani television. Though Pakistani dramas have produced many heroes now, Rahat Kazmi remains the best. Anyone who has watched Dhoop Kinare still falls for him which shows how good he is. His son Ali Kazmi is also a good actor and he has appeared in both dramas and films but his dad remains the best.
Asma Abbas
Asma Abbas comes from a rich lineage of artists and she has also managed to make a name for herself. After getting married, she chose to step back from her professional life for three decades to focus on her family. Asma Abbas is another one of those Pakistani celebrity parents who effortlessly outshines her daughter Zara Noor Abbas, despite Zara’s growing popularity. With her impeccable acting skills, vibrant personality, and a career that spans decades, Asma Abbas has earned a legacy that few can rival. Known for her versatility, Asma Abbas’ performances—whether in intense dramas or light-hearted roles—carry an unmatched depth and charm that resonate with audiences of all ages. Zara Noor Abbas, on the other hand, is undeniably talented and has carved a niche for herself, but she still walks in the shadow of her mother’s iconic status. Asma’s ability to connect with viewers and her enduring grace make her not just a cooler celebrity parent but a timeless star who continues to inspire the industry and her daughter alike.
Waseem Abbas
Waseem Abbas is a powerhouse of talent. He is the son of legendary Inayat Hussain Bhatti and he went on to become a great name in television and theatre. He is still an actor who can win everyone by his presence in a scene. His son Ali Abbas came and made a place for himself all on his own and he is loved for how genuine he is. Still, the father Waseem Abbas definitely is the cooler star and deserves a spot on the coolest Pakistani celebrity parents list.
Seemi Raheel
Seemi Raheel was the IT girl before it was a trend. The star has been impressing fans for decades now and she is also a teacher who has helped many new artists to come forward. Her children Mehreen Raheel and Daniyal Raheel both became actors and they also gathered a lot of love but Seemi Raheel is definitely the coolest of the bunch. She is undoubtedly one of the coolest Pakistani celebrity parents.

In a world often dominated by celebrity gossip and scandal, it’s important to highlight those individuals who stand out because of positivity and integrity within their relationships. Pakistani celebrities are often scrutinized since they are always in the public eye. Amid all these controversies and disappointments a few male celebrities stand out not just for their fame but for the exemplary manner in which they conduct their marriages. These celebrity husbands are not cashing in on their relationships but the authenticity shines through naturally.
These Pakistani celebrity husbands embody what it means to be a ‘green flag’ partner—individuals who prioritize respect, communication, and partnership in their relationships. They embody positive qualities or behaviors that can be considered ‘green flags’ in relationships. Their celebrity wives are equally amazing individuals who play an active role in making these marriages a success. However, this article is dedicated to the celebrity husbands who have won us over repeatedly for different reasons.
Here is a list of these remarkable men who redefine the standards of healthy and loving partnerships:
Manzar Sehbai
Manzar Sehbai’s relationship with his beautiful wife Samina Ahmed is one in a million. Both these wonderful individuals found soulmates in each other at an age when most people don’t even consider giving marriage another chance. The fact that Manzar Sehbai is head over heels in love and awe of his wife is no secret! He appreciates her every chance he gets. The respect and love he showers Samina Ahmed with makes him the greenest green flag on this list. He is a thorough gentleman who values his wife and is the first one to celebrate her wins. You know a man is a green flag when he takes pride in his wife’s achievements and cheers for her. He has also been open about his feelings for his wife in a lot of interviews which goes to show how much pride he takes in this relationship.
Yasir Hussain
Yasir Hussain might not be the most politically correct celebrity when it comes to giving public statements but that does not change the fact that he has through the course of his marriage with Iqra Aziz proved himself as a remarkable husband. Yasir Hussain and Iqra Aziz often share pictures on social media and Iqra has often shared how much Yasir’s support meant to her especially when she was expecting. Their social media presence never comes across as staged. Yasir Hussain knows Iqra Aziz’s potential and supports her career. In a recent interview, he went as far as saying that Iqra was the bigger star and he could never even come closer to her stardom. Only a man who is fully secure and in love with his spouse could give such a statement which also came across as genuine to the core.
Hamza Ali Abbasi
Hamza Ali Abbasi is perhaps one of the most ‘private’ celebrity husbands on this list. He does not give a lot of interviews and is not even the kind of husband whose social media would be filled with praise for his wife. But his wife Naimal Khawar’s social media handles show that Hamza Ali Abbasi is an absolute green flag! Naimal Khawar has been living her life to the fullest right from the day she got married. Her personal choices were obvious from her wedding functions. You can see the support she gets from her husband and the love he showers on her from the independent choices she has made throughout her marriage.
Naimal Khawar’s active social media account is reflective of her wholesome life. The fact that Hamza Ali Abbasi is known for his simplicity; he does not even like going out and shopping for himself. He also has a religious side to his personality. Yet, we have never once seen even a glimpse of these preferences being thrust upon his wife. Naimal loves dressing up and is modern; that does not impact their relationship. There are clear healthy boundaries in this relationship and we would like to give Hamza Ali Abbasi due credit for that!
Syed Jibran
Syed Jibran stands out as yet another devoted husband, demonstrating a remarkable ability to not only acknowledge but also respect the individuality of his beloved wife. He graciously allows her the freedom to flourish as her person, hence nurturing a relationship built on mutual admiration and independence. Syed Jibran served as a prime example of a ‘green flag’ amid widespread rumors of his divorce. Despite apparent strain in his marriage, he continuously showered his wife with compliments on social media while dignifiedly refraining from addressing the speculations. Now, with their reunion, Syed Jibran’s ‘green flag’ traits shine even more brilliantly, highlighting his resilience and unwavering dedication to their relationship.
Fawad Khan
Fawad Khan is another Pakistani celebrity who does not talk or even show much of his private life but anyone who has been following his journey since the start will agree that this man is a green flag! Fawad and Sadaf’s marriage is an ideal partnership and like other names on this list both of them have contributed equally to make this marriage a success. Fawad Khan’s union with a strong and independent woman is a testament to his appreciation for these qualities, evident in his consistent support and presence whenever needed.
Falak Shabbir
Falak Shabbir goes the extra mile to add romance to his marriage. He loves showering his wife Sarah Khan with gifts, has a sense of humor which Sarah adores and enjoys, and makes sure that Sarah feels special every step of the way. Falak, sometimes, also comes under criticism for being a show-off but we think that showing off your love for your wife is a green flag all the way! Sarah Khan’s career has flourished even after her marriage, with her popularity on the rise. This goes to show Falak Shabbir’s support for Sarah’s pursuit of her identity, emphasizing that he values her as more than just ‘Mrs. Falak Shabbir’.
Mani
Salman Saqib Sheikh, better known as Mani, stands out as another celebrity husband who has set high standards by prioritizing his wife’s career. He even went so far as to sacrifice his professional aspirations to support Hira Mani in establishing her name in the industry. Hira Mani has talked about the kind of support she gets from Mani and often gives him a lot of credit for her success. Hira and Mani together make an ace team and Mani passes as a husband who is a green flag all the way.
Wasim Akram
Despite the stark cultural differences between Pakistan and her native land, Shaneira has found her place and thrived, largely due to the unwavering support and love she receives from her husband. Wasim has ensured that Shaneira is empowered to realize her full potential, contributing to her success and fulfillment. Even though Wasim is known for his blunt statements, not once has he cracked a joke that would in any way demean his wife. He respects and loves her a lot even though he does not say it out loud too often. Wasim Akram calls Shaneira his ‘bestie’ and the friendship between them stands out too.
Danish Taimoor
This list will be incomplete without Danish Taimoor. Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor both are stars in their own right. Unlike many other such power couples, these two have always kept the perfect balance. Ayeza Khan’s happening and successful career and Danish’s unconditional support for her go hand-in-hand. He acknowledges that Ayeza Khan’s dreams and aspirations hold equal significance to his own, making him a definite “green flag”!
Usman Mukhtar
Usman Mukhtar is another celebrity husband who has the best relationship with his partner. The strong friendship between Usman and Zunaira, coupled with Usman’s recognition that he could spend a lifetime solely with his spouse, highlights the profound importance of Zunaira in his life. Partners like Usman who prioritize their significant other, making them feel like the better half, are truly invaluable.
These celebrity husbands exemplify admirable qualities that are essential for fostering healthy and fulfilling relationships. From supporting their spouses’ careers to valuing their identities and aspirations, they demonstrate a deep understanding of partnership and mutual respect. Their actions speak volumes about their commitment, love, and dedication to their wives, setting a positive example for others to emulate. Overall, they certainly fit the bill of being supportive, caring, and loving partners who prioritize the well-being and happiness of their significant others.
Pakistani celebrities enjoy respect and fame, a trend that has been the norm since the country’s inception. In every field, we have had famous names who have had successful runs in their careers. Many stars had dream debuts in their careers, earning fame, success, love, and admiration from the public.

Which other celebrities do you think are famous for their controversies and statements more than their work? Share in comments!
Pakistani celebrities come from a few categories, including music, acting, and cricket. The country does not place much emphasis on developing celebrities in other fields, and, largely, the famous people have come from these predominant fields. They grow their following and slowly become household names. However, there is another category that makes people famous, but is controversial and difficult to navigate. The category is none other than politics.
Politics is a topic every Pakistani is passionate about, though the public rarely has the opportunity to express its will. However, a politician becomes a household name. Add to it the charm of already being a celebrity, and this combination has made many famous people even more famous. But in some cases, it ended up destroying their existing careers. When it comes to hair, actresses barely get a chance to experiment and they themselves shy away from playing with the length because it takes a long time for the hair to grow back. Also, the fact that actresses are always active and have one shoot after another, they really do not fancy the idea of having a shorter length of hair because of how monotonous their looks might end up.
However, over the last few years, a lot more actresses have gotten comfortable with the idea of rocking shorter hair because they do understand that they can always rely on hair extensions and weaves if it happens to be the demand of their projects. Therefore in their personal life, they enjoy carrying shorter hair, and more than that, a lot of these actresses have not only just cut the length short, they have shown how differently they can style their short hair too, which always looks good on them.
Here is the list of Pakistani actresses rocking shorter hair:

Hania Amir
Hania Amir has always experimented with her hair, this is something she herself spoke about when she appeared on a morning show. Hania Amir has always been very gutsy and feels hair always grows out, therefore it is absolutely fine to go for quirky colors and experiment more and this is what she used to do in her teenage years. However, after stepping into the showbiz industry, she does understand that she can not carry unique colored hair, but the least she can do is play with the length and give herself different makeovers. This is why she is one such actress who always keeps on changing the length of her hair and enjoys the novelty. She looks super cute in shorter hair.
Iqra Aziz
When Iqra Aziz cut her hair short a few years back, she had to come and give out a disclaimer that her shorter hair has not taken away any work opportunities from her. She can always rely on weaves and carry on with her work. Iqra Aziz is one such actress who has tried every hairstyle under the sun which can be done on the shorter hair and because she is naturally blessed with beautiful voluminous hair, the length absolutely doesn’t matter, what does is how good it looks on her.
Madiha Imam
Madiha Imam has herself said that she is very much comfortable with the idea of shorter hair because she has very fine hair and she also finds this length pretty manageable. In recent years Madiha Imam has grown her hair out but she too keeps on going back to a shorter length. In her last dramas such as Muqaddar and Dushman e Jaan, she sported the shorter hair length and looked good on-screen. This hairstyle however makes her look a lot younger than her lead actors but that doesn’t matter because she rocks the shorter hair.
Nimra Khan
Nimra Khan has groomed herself a lot and this is why she too is seen experimenting with her wardrobe choices, her makeup, and her hair as well. She decided to change things up for herself and went quite short but let’s just say, she looks super cute in shorter hair. She too has been wearing her hair in different hairstyles and this length compliments her face cut a lot.
Saheefa Jabbar Khattak
When Saheefa Jabbar Khattak stepped into the drama industry, she had shorter hair. Although she has grown her hair longer now when she used to have shorter hair, she stood out for it because back in those days, not a lot of lead actresses carried such a hairstyle or length. This definitely set her apart and gave her the edge to get noticed a lot more. She too rocked the shorter length and showed that she can look just as chic in short hair as she does in longer hair too.
Sanam Saeed
Sanam Saeed is also one such actress who has always been known for having beautiful luscious locks. Back in the day when she started acting, in her initial projects such as Daam and Mera Naseeb, she had shorter hair, which made her stand out a lot more. Sanam Saeed has recently gone shorter too and the long bob cut looks superb on her and compliments her face cut.
Sania Saeed
Sania Saeed has recently joined the list because she just went all out and decided to go for a wedge cut by the infamous Tariq Amin. Sania Saeed has more or less sported a similar hairstyle in all of her dramas and it’s truly refreshing to see her in such a chic hairstyle, which she is rocking confidently.
Syra Yusuf
Syra Yusuf is one such actress who decided to cut her hair short when she signed Tanhaiyan Naye Silsile. She understood that she had to replicate the look of the iconic character played by Marina Khan in the original series, and this level of professionalism and commitment to her work was appreciated by her team a lot. Since then, she has left quite a mark that she can absolutely rock short hair. Right after parting ways with Shehroz Sabzwari, Syra Yusuf cut her hair short again and posted a famous saying of Coco Chanel that a woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life. Well, she well and truly did and looks stunning in short hair.
Yumna Zaidi
Yumna Zaidi posted a throwback picture in which she had a long bob too. Yumna Zaidi too has been comfortable with the idea of shorter hair and although she has beautiful luscious locks that were admired by all her fans in drama serials Pyar Ke Sadqay and Raaz e Ulfat, it can also be said that she looks stunning either way. Even if she decides to go shorter, she will carry it confidently and look absolutely cute.
This completes the list of Pakistani actresses who have rocked shorter hair lengths. Whose look do you like the most? Feel free to share your views.

After reaching the star mantle, many actors stop experimenting with the characters they pick and start coming in similar roles with a hero vibe, a black Parado and gel-standing hair. However, some of our talented Pakistani actors have had long journeys and they have given variety to their fans. They have nailed both positive and negative characters equally.
Pakistani Actors Who are multi-talented
Here is a list of some of those 10 Pakistani actors who nailed both positive and negative roles:
Bilal Abbas Khan
Bilal Abbas Khan is among the new stars who have always picked up characters that are unique. He has never let him get typecast and he has shown that he can fit in the whole range from white to black. His role as Wajih Taseer in Cheekh remains one of the best negative characters of the current era. Despite the drama getting dragged in the second half, his performance was mind-blowing and it brought all the eyeballs to the show.
He goes equally well in positive characters as well. His recent appearance as Ibrahim in Mann Jogi was approved as the greenest flag in dramas this season.
Danish Taimoor
Danish Taimoor is one of the most sought-after Pakistani actors right now. He changed his career’s trajectory when he starred in Deewangi. The drama broke records and Danish constructed a very different screen image. Though fans loved Danish in the drama, his character was very negative and he did a great job. This is something which he replicated in Kaisi Teri Khudgarzi once again and it was also very successful.
Danish also has the ability to play a very positive character in the best manner. This is something that many of his new fans do not know. Danish played the protagonist in Rehaai and that is a role that will be remembered for ages.

He has done both positive and negative roles and one of the best negative characters he did was in Kankar. He played a domestic abuser with a very suave personality. A role many would have turned down and not everyone can pull off. This character is the complete opposite of Mustafa which he is shining as these days.
He is shining in a super-positive character in Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum which is getting international recognition. Fahad Mustafa can easily be termed as one of those few Pakistani actors who continue to impress and enthrall.
Imran Ashraf
Imran Ashraf is one of the top Pakistani actors. He started his career as a supporting artist and he has worked in several roles before reaching the top of the lot. After becoming a superstar with Ranjha Ranjha Kardi, he once again took a risk and played a very negative character in Inkaar. This drama is based on a real life incident and Imran did a great job.
He has also done some very positive characters and one such role with an aura was Raqs e Bismil’s Musa that won the hearts of millions. His roles in Tabeer, Mushk and Kahin Deep Jalay were also positive.
Ahsan Khan
Like many Pakistani actors Ahsan Khan started out as a hero and did all the positive characters in his two decade long career. But he shocked everyone when he appeared as a child molester in Udaari. Pakistani actors and actresses are known for their natural talent and the way they have brought important stories and characters to our screens. The range which an actor can showcase defines how long and impactful their career will be. Many artists in the drama industry have reinvented themselves over the course of their careers, which not only put them on the map in some cases but also elongated their careers in others.
Many Pakistani actors were going through either a down patch or their true talent was not getting recognised when these roles came their way, and changed the complete trajectory of their careers on television. Here are a few names:
Ahsan Khan
Ahsan Khan is among the top Pakistani actors, and his talent is unmatched. He started his career as a teenager in films, and he later transitioned completely towards television. He is among the top artists in the country, but his career also saw a dip in the early 2010s. At the time, he was largely playing the crying male lead, and his roles started to look similar and monotonous. Then came the role of a lifetime for the star, Imtiaz, in Udaari. The role of a child abuser was declined by many stars when Ahsan Khan finally said yes to it. This was a risk for a leading actor, and he was not confident about how the role would be perceived. But it ended up paying off, and his character led to open discussions about child abuse in our society.
Wahaj Ali
Wahaj Ali is another top Pakistani star currently ruling the television screens. He is another self-made actor who worked behind the camera initially, and he later transitioned to acting roles. Though Wahaj had carved a niche for himself, he remained pretty underrated still. It was his role as Murtasim Khan in Tere Bin which changed the trajectory of his career. He became a superstar, and fans were drooling over him globally. The actor has not looked back since, and he will be starring opposite Mahira Khan in his next project.
Yumna Zaidi
Yumna Zaidi is a female Pakistani superstar who is known for her immense acting talent. Yumna’s ability to outshine some of the veterans from the very start of her career won her millions of followers. She has appeared in difficult characters in dramas like Ullu Baraye Farokht Nahi, Dar Si Jati Hai Sila and Inkaar. She was acknowledged as a top actress starring in mostly socially issue-based dramas, but Tere Bin is what turned her into a huge commercial star. She played Merub Murtasim Kahn in Tere Bin, and that one role turned her into a top commercial choice for producers.
Danish Taimoor
Danish Taimoor is currently the most bankable Pakistani drama star. His shows earn over 20 million views per episode, whatever may be the script or supporting cast. His stardom is unmatched, and all of this happened when he took a big risk in his career. Danish has been working in dramas since the early 2000s, and he was doing decent in showbiz when he finally took a plunge and starred as Jaan e Aalam in Abb Dekh Khuda Kya Karta Hai. This role brought his alpha side on screens, and he has since not looked back. He went on to star in all-time blockbusters like Deewangi, Ishq Hai, Kaisi Teri Khudgarzi and Sher after this.
Ahmed Ali Akbar
Ahmed Ali Akbar is another Pakistani artist who cares more about the craft and less about the shenanigans of stardom. The actor was already loved, and he had appeared in several dramas like Ye Raha Dil and Ehd e Wafa, which were all blockbusters. But then he signed Parizaad, a character refused by many others as it had no visible heroics or the hero look. Parizaad made Ahmed Ali Akbar’s fame global, and now he is an actor whom fans wait to watch on their television screens.
Mawra Hocane
Mawra Hocane is currently considered one of the most intelligent Pakistani stars in the drama industry. She is known for picking up the best scripts, which always have a strong theme and a story with important messages. But this was not how her career always looked. She was initially known for playing the damsel in distress, and that is how she got her Bollywood film Sanam Teri Kasam. The film initially flopped, and the Pakistani artists were banned in India. She was back, and she was scared of making a comeback. That is when she picked a strong story like Sammi, and she has not looked back since. She kept picking social awareness stories, and today, she is one of the most loved stars.
Ayeza Khan
Ayeza Khan is a Pakistani superstar, and she is known for her strong on-screen presence. She was already a top star, and she used to play the most positive roles on television when she went and picked Mehwish in Mere Paas Tum Ho. The starlet played the biggest villain on Pakistani television, and fans all over the world wanted Mehwish to just die. Ayeza’s risk paid off, and she became equivalent in stardom to many of her male counterparts after that.
Syed Jibran
Syed Jibran is a strong Pakistani star who knows how to bring that edge to his characters. The actor was not enjoying this success a few years back. He was mostly not getting the right characters, and he decided to move to the UK when he was offered Chup Raho. He was sceptical about the character as he was a harasser and molester, but he said yes to it anyway. Turns out, Chup Raho became a defining moment for his career, and he went on to play some of the big bad guys on Pakistani dramas.
Emmad Irfani
Emmad Irfani is a Pakistani star who started his career as a model. He was a supermodel when he jumped into acting. He did good projects and got noticed in Cheekh, Jalan and Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum. But he was always this suave and urban guy who would charm, even if he plays a negative character. Thus, when he showed us as Jamshed aka Jami in Kafeel, people had doubts. Jami was a lower-middle-class narcissist, and Emmad had to play a father to grown-up children. But the actor has proved his acting prowess. This is the first time that people hated Jami, and no one noticed Emmad’s good looks. This role has shown how talented he is, and he is doing great.
Sehar Khan
Sehar Khan is a young Gen Z Pakistani star who became a household name after her drama Fairy Tale became a hit. She is a good actress, but she was being boxed into these bubbly girl roles one after the other. That is when she signed up for Ta Man Neelo Neel, where she played Rabi. The role and how the character ended were hard-hitting, and the actress carried it brilliantly. She has since starred in Aik Aur Pakeezah, and now she is being looked at as a serious talent being considered for difficult characters.

The year 2023 proved to be especially lucky for some of the already-known and accomplished Pakistani actors. Some of the actors who recently started their journey also managed to dominate the Pakistani drama scene owing to the choices they made and obviously their talent. The rise in the stardom of these stars was unprecedented in 2023 when compared to the rest of their acting journey. Being part of a single popular drama can sometimes do wonders for actors. Some of the names on this list garnered popularity not just in Pakistan but also across the border. It is always great witnessing actors who have worked hard being rewarded in the form of wide public appreciation.
This list contains the names of those Pakistani actors who were the talk of the town in 2023. There were so many exceptional performances in Pakistani dramas this year but all of them did not get the appreciation and recognition by the public that these actors got.
Here is a list of those Pakistani actors who dominated the year 2023:
Wahaj Ali
Wahaj Ali’s popularity skyrocketed owing to Tere Bin’s popularity. Murtasim was the talk of the town and Wahaj’s performance was widely appreciated. Even though Wahaj Ali played a more challenging role with the utmost precision in Jo Bichar Gaye last year, Tere Bin proved to be the game-changer for him. His on-screen chemistry with Yumna Zaidi definitely added to the appeal. I must say that personally, I am genuinely happy for Wahaj because he truly deserves the success he got in 2023.
Yumna Zaidi
Yumna Zaidi is a well-established actress who has played quite a few challenging characters in her career. However, the popularity she received as Meerab was simply unprecedented. Playing the lead in Tere Bin was perhaps the best decision made by Yumna who usually opts for more artsy projects. Her stardom is on the rise at a time when most of us thought we had seen the pinnacle of her popularity. Just like Wahaj Ali, Tere Bin proved to be the drama that gave Yumna’s career a new life.
Sabeena Farooq
From getting hatred and being trolled for Tere Bin to being showered with love for Kabli Pulao; Sabeena’s journey in 2023 has been a rollercoaster ride! The year 2023 definitely proved to be a paradigm shift in Sabeena Farooq’s career. She won the viewers over with her portrayal of Barbeena right from the start and continues to enthrall the audience. Sabeena Farooq’s acting journey is off to a brand new start owing to her role and performance in Kabli Pulao.
Muhammad Ehteshamuddin
The way Muhammad Ehteshamuddin won praise and appreciation for his performance in Kabli Pulao serves as a testament to the notion that actors do not have a shelf life. He redefined the term ‘hero’ and did so with the utmost precision. Haji Mushtaq will be remembered for a long time largely due to Muhammad Ehteshamuddin’s impeccable performance.
Aina Asif
Aina Asif was part of two major serials this year. She played an important supporting character in Pinjra and she played the leading role in Mayi Ri. Mayi Ri turned out to be the drama that skyrocketed Aina Asif’s popularity. Her character and performance remained the center of attention even after the drama went off air. The controversial aspect of the drama in a way contributed to her success.
Samar Jaffri
Samar Jaffri is another young actor who got recognition like never before when he played the leading role in Mayi Ri. An actor who had been struggling to be recognized became a household name and dominated drama discussions on social media platforms. This drama definitely opened up more opportunities for these young actors.
Javeria Saud
Sometimes a negative character gives a certain actor more popularity than everything else that they have done in their entire career. This year the character Javeria Saud played in Baby Baji was one such example. The viewers hated the character but loved how well Javeria Saud translated it on-screen.
Samina Ahmed
Samina Ahmed is another actress who has been around for decades yet she continues to impress, enthrall, and dominate the drama scene. This year she played the role of the main protagonist in the soap serial Baby Baji. The viewers rooted and felt for Baby Baji because of Samina Ahmed’s apt portrayal. She was one of the few most talked about leading characters this year.
Rabia Butt
Rabia Butt’s performance in Gunah and Jeevan Nagar was widely appreciated for all the right reasons. In terms of popularity, Rabia Butt definitely outshone all the other co-actors in both these projects. Rabia has also been choosing the projects she is a part of carefully which has added more substance to her standing as an actor.
Nadia Afgan
Nadia Afgan is another exceptional actor who has given many phenomenal performances in the past as well. Her role and performance in Kabli Pulao this year was another feather in her cap which won the viewers over completely. This list will be incomplete without her.
Final Remarks
The names in the list prove that sometimes a single drama can change the way the public perceives an actor. Such popularity also puts added pressure and responsibility on these actors to deliver in the future as well. Right now, Kiran Malik and Mikaal Zulfiqar are on top of their game and strong contenders for this list with their outstanding performances in Jaisay Aapki Marzi. However, I would like to see more of them before giving the final verdict.
Please share your thoughts and feel free to add more names to the list.
