Production houses in Pakistani dramas are never holding back from adding more dramas to the already crowded tv screens, and if interesting we don’t mind watching them either. However, love triangles or in some cases love rectangles (pun intended) are very common in our plays because writers don’t mind churning them out nor we as a audience do because if not all then most of the times they do sound interesting. Hum TV’s new drama Dil-e-Janaam begin last night. Having seen the teasers, i was already waiting for it and had some good expectations from this one. Starring Zahid Ahmed, Zhalay Sarhadi, Hina Altaf in the lead roles with Imran Ashraf in a pivotal role, the play surely had a good content and made me look forward to it. Zahid Ahmed’s last drama Mera Kya Kasoor Tha on Geo TV didn’t did well in terms of ratings nor had an interesting story line so many of his fans might have been waiting for this drama to see him casting his magic again. Dil e Janaam’s highlight is its star-studded cast and an engaging story line. However, the writer Seema Ghazal is known for scripting family sagas which are most often not so popular too. But, the drama had already build some expectations and to what seen, first episode was quite decent and good. It was well-paced with all the characters introduced in a right manner. It’s a story of a jolly and bubbly girl Eshal (Hina Altaf) who’s marriage is fixed with her cousin Shavaiz (Zahid Ahmed) and is really happy because she’s getting married to a man whom she loves. She has a friend Haris (Imran Ashraf) who likes her and keeps throwing hints, which she never understands. Haris’ feeling for Eshal will surely have an impact on how the story unfolds in the future. However, Shavaiz loves his business partner Asma (Zhalay Sarhadi) and is not willing to marry Eshal. Shavaiz is a kind of an ideal man who is rich, handsome and has a soft corner for people he loves but is quite too. However, Asma loves Shavaiz but is a practical woman. Later on, Shavaiz tries to explain his mother and even tries to speak to Eshal in order to break the marriage, but fails both times and chooses the easy path instead by marrying Asma and bringing her home. It’s no secret that our society is filled with cousin marriages and it happens quite often too. And in Eshal and Shavaiz’s case, they were engaged when they were kids which in some cases does leads to an unexpected result. As they grew up, Eshal falls for Shavaiz and he on the other hand falls for someone else whom he finds more compatible. Zahid Ahmed as Shavaiz was brilliant and it was a delight to see him in this role. Hina Altaf, was in-short really good, she’s improving with every drama but this isn’t the best she could do, her acting skills should be exploited to get the best out of her and i hope that happens in the coming episodes. However, at times she looked too young to be paired up with Zahid Ahmed, some more her character is really jolly and he seems to be quite mature, so this pairing is a bit doubtful. Coming to Zhalay Sarhadi, she managed to do complete justice to her role despite of less screen time. Shavaiz’s mother is the same woman who is playing the role of Armaan’s mother in Muqabil and i’m pleased to say she did spare our ears in this first episode. Jokes part, all the characters were quite convincing and easily relatable. Despite of having a cliched story line, Dil-e-Janaam looks promising mainly because of the interpretation of the whole scenario. Besides the main characters, the cast also includes Usman Peerzada, Saba Faisal, Shaheen Khan, Shameem Zafar Hilaly and Anwar Iqbal. Directed by Fahim Burney and produced by MD productions, Dil-e-Janaam is good for mid-week entertainment; it airs every Wednesday at 8 pm, on Hum TV. How many of you liked this play? Zahid Ahmed’s ‘Daldal’ – Another Step Towards Dramas Breaking Stereotypes
Pakistani drama-makers are finally coming out of cliched storylines and introducing new ideas. Our dramas are bringing taboos to life with strong story lines.
Zahid Ahmed’s next project will also tap into a subject matter which has a social stigma attached to it. Titled ‘Daldal’ the drama will focus on the subject of human trafficking.
“It’s a very interesting story,” Ahmed told Instep. “It tells the story of a man who belongs to the lower strata of society and wishes to settle in the West through whatever means he can. But once he makes it to the West, life isn’t as smooth as he thought it would be. From there on, the narrative takes an interesting turn as he is forced to do things that he doesn’t want to.”
Daldal will highlight the theme of human trafficking and aims to discourage the concept. Aside from Ahmed, Daldal also features Armeena Khan, who plays his wife, Asma Abbas who will be seen as his mother and Muneeb Butt.

Zahid Ahmed To Play An Antagonist In ‘Tau Dil Ka Kia Hua’
Zahid Ahmed can easily be labeled as one of the finest actors among the current lot since he has the unique quality of fitting every character he plays. His recent plays, Zara Yaad Kar and Besharram, have made him a household name and he has achieved a massive fan following in a short span of time. After delivering some memorable performances Ahmed is gearing up for another drama serial with a twisted story line.
Titled Tou Dil Ka Kia Hua, the play stars Ahmed as Saif, who’s a criminal, opposite Ayeza Khan of Pyarey Afzal fame. “It’s a very twisted and complicated love story,” Zahid Ahmed told Instep. “I’m playing the antagonist.”

“It’s going to be one hell of a play; the storyline is extremely interesting,” he shared. “Ayeza and I have started shooting for the play and it will air sometime in summer.”

Zahid Ahmed is a phenomenal actor but who knew he is such an honest person. He often makes videos talking about societal problems and shares brutal realities form his life.
In a recent interview, he talked about using drugs and said, “Yes, I have been into drugs. I have used hash a lot in my life and now Alhamdulillah I have quit.”
“There is enough drama in the world, the society has completely changed. Karachi is the second most popular city when it comes to marijuana consumption so we should talk about it. My sons are growing and in their surroundings, people use it because it’s common,” he said.
“In Islamabad, crystal meth is being sold in school campuses and crystal meth is death. The person who uses it dies in 2-3 years.”
Zahid Ahmed talked about drugs and said, “Why are we not talking about it? When will we talk about it? Why are you judging it as a sin? It is in our society and I have made a whole video on this topic on my channel. If you see youngsters they say that marijuana and hash are not haraam in Islam and it has no side effects.”
Talking about his experience, he said, “It’s my 10-15 years of experience and I want to say, if it has no side effect then it has no advantage as well. When I left drugs I felt a lot of change. “
“I can say when you are high it becomes damn easy to not give a damn about anything and because of this people use it. After listening to this, it must sound positive but if you see it from another perspective it is about ‘you are not giving damn about anything in life’. When you are high you are not giving damn about relationships and not bother about anything in life. You are detached, numb, and it is an easy escape from life. You stop growing as a person completely,” Zahid Ahmed added.
Zahid Ahmed advised the youth to think about this and stop using drugs because its harmful for your mental health and physical health.

The very talented and versatile Pakistani actor Zahid Ahmed was recently spotted in an interview with “Something Haute”.
Zahid talking about his recent project ‘Faryad’ mentioned that “In drama serial Faryad the base was the character not the story. You can’t hold the best of both, the story and character in every play, we just can’t. It is not possible to have the best story and best character for yourself in every play.”
“In Faryad I focused on this one fact that this guy is a disaster himself. He has no moral compass what so ever. I have played several twisted characters before but those characters twisted for a reason and this guy in Faryad has no reason”, he added.
Further Zahid said that “The message this serial will give to the audience is that upbringing of a child is a very important thing and if it goes wrong then there is very little damage control you can do.”

Zahid Ahmed has started his Youtube channel where he shared how to be regular in Namaz and how we can get close to Allah (S.W.T) by offering prayers.
Before sharing his message, he cleared that he doesn’t care if people are going to criticize this video because an actor is teaching them how to be regular in Namaz. “It doesn’t matter if you’re an actor, doctor, mirasi or chef. It is the beauty of our religion that the purpose of life is to serve Allah and get close to Him,” he said.

Zahid Ahmed reveling about the ending of Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida mentioned that “I think the second last episode of Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida was aired last week. We are never sure about the number of episodes as an actor.”
“We just shoot the drama which we are supposed to do. After editing we never know the duration period of that drama. It’s never the number on the script. This script however consisted of 30 episodes probably”, added Zahid.
Further Zahid answering to the question of conclusion of drama said that “In the last episode the drama will be finished. Further I don’t want to give any comment about the ending of the drama.”

I would never want to take part in a plagiarized play”
