This was another well-paced episode of Mushk which focused on all the tracks. The story has taken an exciting turn, and there are so many important decisions that will be made in the upcoming episodes. The only person completely missing in action right now is dada. Mehak is for now only relying on Muna for advice and in the upcoming episode, she will finally make a definite decision. Adam shared the truth with his mother and this particular aspect of the story was handled a little too lightly. Adam and Guddi’s opening scene was one of the best tonight. Apart from that Chaudhry’s scenes gave me goosebumps; kudos to Hassan Ahmed for playing this character so well. The strongest part of the script has to be the clarity with which the story has been taken forward and the focus has remained on all the tracks. At this point, it feels that the story will start wrapping up gradually so that all these tracks can have a convincing ending.
Adam and Guddi
Adam and Guddi’s opening scenes were penned down and acted-out brilliantly. Guddi’s dialogue about what love really means was right on point! This was her way of telling Adam that they were meant to be together since they were both giving each other the love they never got. Adam is a lot like Moosa from Raqs-e-Bismil when it comes to falling in love – always in denial! For him, love means respecting someone and being there for that person unconditionally. When his mother asked him if he had a liking for Guddi, his answer said a great deal about his character. Unlike Moosa, he is a kind person, and playing the savior comes naturally to him. Urwa Hocane and Imran Ashraf’s on-screen chemistry makes you root for this on-screen couple. The writer has done a commendable job of making the viewers understand why these two eventually fell for each other. Even though Guddi is in love with Adam, she is more than willing to accept his love for Mehak. She told him that she was going to help him in whatever way she could. Guddi is gradually changing into a completely different person; she is willing to help someone out without expecting anything in return.
Adam finally told his mother everything but this scene was executed too casually just like the scene in one of the previous episodes in which Mehak revealed the secret to Adam. His mother was not shocked enough and there weren’t too many questions. No matter how nice someone is, digesting such shocking information so patiently is just not possible. However, it showed Adam’s honesty and the kind of faith he has in his mother. Adam’s scenes with his sister have always been my favorite; heart-warming and genuine. This time around too his sister understood what he was going through more than anyone else. I would have liked to see more of them instead of Mehak’s conversation with Muna.
Time To Take Revenge
I was expecting Guddi and Chaudhry’s scene to be darker but thankfully that was not the case. Chaudhry is thankful to Guddi and clearly attracted to her therefore he was gentle towards her. He was more eager to take revenge from those who had caused him harm. The first victim turned out to be Zulekha’s brother and for obvious reasons, the writer is making us wait for his first confrontation with Zulekha. The doctor is mareez e ishq at the moment and it remains to be seen if he will be killed. Guddi seemed in control even though Chaudhry was a clear threat to her. Zulekha did not doubt Guddi for a second. I feel that after everything that happened with Roshni, she is not the same person anymore. I am especially missing dada because even if he is sick, he should have been in the picture tonight.
Mehak Makes a Decision
Finally, Mehak also decided to make an important decision; she wants khula so that she can finally move on. When she broke this news to Guddi, her expressions were priceless. Guddi knows that Adam will be more than willing to marry Mehak once she is no longer Shayan’s wife. In this manner, however, Mehak will eventually get in touch with Shayan and hopefully, they can finally be together. She will make an even bigger decision in the upcoming episode, and that is when Adam will have to make a tough choice. Perhaps, this is how Adam will realize his true feelings for Guddi. He is in love with Guddi whether he admits it or not and he wants to make her happy. On the other hand, Mehak ‘was’ the love of his life, the only woman he only wanted to marry. I am eagerly waiting for his reply and his reaction.
Shayan seems to be in a bargaining position now that he is married to Muqaddar Khan’s daughter. His dialogues suggested just that and pointed out a bitter reality of our society – definitely not one which is ever pleasing to hear! I am wondering how he will react once he gets the khula notice.
Final Remarks
The unpredictability of the plot and the element of intrigue continue to be Mushk’s strengths. It is one of those few dramas that stay interesting right till the end. Although, I am slightly disappointed that Guddi never found out what actually happened with Roshni. Overall, however, the script has been well-put-together. I am looking forward to an ending that will be just as convincing, impactful, and gratifying as the drama has been as a whole. Urwa Hocane, Imran Ashraf, and Hassan Ahmed’s phenomenal performances were the highlight of this episode. The love triangle has my undivided attention at the moment! Waiting to find out what happens next.

Moin Akhter
Moin Akhter was a Pakistani television, film and stage artist, humorist, comedian, impersonator, host, writer, singer, director and producer who rose to fame in the era of Radio Pakistan along with his co-actors Anwer Maqsood and Bushra Ansari. He was the best ever parodist and the king of Urdu comedy. His career spanned more than 45 years. He was fluent in several languages, including English, Bengali, Sindhi, Punjabi, Memoni, Pashto, Gujarati and Urdu. He hosted shows with invited dignitaries including King Husain of Jordan, Prime Minister of Gambia Dawoodi Al-Joza, Presidents Zia-ul-Haq, Ghulam Ishaq Khan, General Yahya Khan and Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and the legendary Indian film actor Dilip Kumar. In the talk-show Loose Talk, he appeared as a different character in each episode with a total of over 400 episodes. He earned Pride of Performance and Sitara-e-Imtiaz in 1996 and 2011. He died on April 22, 2011. May his soul rest in peace.
Tariq Aziz
Tariq Aziz was a Pakistani television host and film actor, known for PTV’s quiz show Neelam Ghar, first aired in 1974. It was later renamed as the Tariq Aziz Show and lately as Bazm-e-Tariq Aziz. He was known for his iconic line ” Dekhti Aankhon, Sunte Kaanon ko Tariq Aziz ka Salam”. He was the first face to appear on television in Pakistan. He was one of the first TV hosts to gain commercial success by using the platform of his quiz show. He interviewed many notable intellectuals, sports persons and celebrities on his shows. Fahad Mustafa
Fahad Salahuddin, better known as Fahad Mustafa, is a Pakistani film and television actor, producer and host known for hosting the game show Jeeto Pakistan, which airs on ARY Digital. He hosted the 1st Hum Awards ceremonies in 2013 in Karachi and the 2nd ARY Film Awards in 2016 in Dubai. He also hosted the launching ceremony for the Karachi Kings and the opening ceremony of 2017 Pakistan Super League in Dubai.

Kashif Nisar’s name guarantees a well-crafted story since he puts his heart and soul into every single one of his projects. Raqeeb Se promos piqued our interest even more since apart from the experienced actors such as Nauman Ijaz and Sania Saeed, singer Hadiqa Kiyani’s acting debut seems to be something worth looking forward to. Hadiqa Kiyani is a singer, who is just as well-known for her style as she is for her vocals, yet she decided to make her debut with a role that lacks glamour altogether. It is always great to see artists making such debuts because it goes to show that they take their craft seriously.
The promos of Raqeeb Se suggest it is going to be yet another unusual story by Bee Gul. Iqra Aziz also has the same screen presence in the promos which she had in Ranjha Ranjha Kardi. After Jhooti, we really want to see Iqra Aziz utilizing her talent aptly. We have our reservations about Hamza Sohail but we are definitely waiting to find out if he manages to impress in this debut performance or not. The main attractions are definitely the writer and the director since they always deliver. The promos have a haunting, realistic, and even warm feel to them which is why we are quite sure that Raqeeb Se has what it takes to be the kind of drama worth tuning into and looking forward to. Saqib Sameer, Saba Faisal, Faryal Mehmood, and Salman Shahid will also be seen playing supporting characters in the drama.
Pehli Si Mohabbat

Aunn Zara, Shayyad, and Dil Lagi are a few of the many love stories penned down by Faiza Iftikhar; a writer who makes sure that each one of the romantic stories written by her breaks stereotypes in some way or the other. The promos suggest that Pehli Si Mohabbat has all the ingredients to be the kind of drama that will turn out to be a powerful romantic story and perhaps a social drama as well that will be a refreshing change from all the other upcoming dramas which are a completely different genre. Maya Ali was exceptional in Mera Naam Yousuf Hei and since this is her comeback drama we expect her to give it her best. Her scenes in the promos of the drama promise a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Sheheryar Munawwar will also be making his comeback on television and this time around the character he is playing seems to be different from the ones we watched him play before. He is known for playing characters that are more subtle and mellowed down but the promos suggest this romantic hero is not going to settle for less.
The promos of the drama are also visually pleasing; Anjum Shehzad excels at paying attention to visual details in particular. HSY will be making his debut with this drama and just like Hadiqa Kiyani, he has chosen to play a role that is completely opposite to his real-life personality. Pehli Si Mohabbat will clearly be a story such as Pyare Afzal and Mera Naam Yousuf Hei which kept the viewers on the edge of their seats. Since Faiza Iftikhar’s dramas always have happy endings, we are hoping to have an experience similar to that of Dil Lagi. The script has an old-school romance feel but the treatment given to the script seems to be new! We cannot wait to tune into this one.
Dil Na Umeed Tu Nahi

We were already waiting for this drama to air since it has been written by Amna Mufti; a writer who has written the most meaningful scripts and always uses her talent for much more than just entertainment. She doesn’t write too often therefore whenever she comes up with something new, it is always a well-thought-out idea. Since this drama has been directed by Kashif Nisar, we have every reason to believe that it will be just as hard-hitting and powerful as Ullu Baraye Farokht Nahi. Kashf Foundation has also been behind some of the best dramas therefore we are really excited that this season we will get to watch a drama that serves a higher purpose. The only downside is that the drama will be airing on TV One, a channel which makes barely any effort to promote even the best of dramas.
Nauman Ijaz, Yumna Zaidi, Omair Rana, Sammiya Mumtaz, Noor Hassan, Kashif Mehmood, Yasra Rizvi, Wahaj Ali are some of those actors who are on the top of their game at the moment. Yumna Zaidi can clearly be seen in a role that offers something new. We all know that she is one of those actresses who can easily nail any role she decides to take up. The drama will highlight the evil of human trafficking among other things. It is also apparent from the promos that just like always Amna Mufti will once again question some of the stereotypes that exist in our society. We loved some of the questions raised by the writer in the drama serial Zun Mureed therefore we are definitely going to be watching this one for quality content.

It won’t be wrong to say that Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 happens to be one of the highly anticipated dramas of this year. The moment it was announced that Feroze Khan and Iqra Aziz were pairing for the third season of Khuda Aur Mohabbat, the viewers begin to have high expectations. The initial two seasons had the pairing of Imran Abbas and Sadia Khan and was loved by the audience because of how the story explored love and spirituality. Although the viewers are very much aware of the basic concept of the love story with the undertone of spirituality that this drama is also going to have, the teasers promised a lot more than what was expected.
The three teasers of Khuda Aur Mohabbat Season 3 that have been released so far are nothing short of amazing. The most interesting part is that for the first time probably, none of the promos have actually given away the story. They have only shown different avatars of the characters played by Feroze Khan and Iqra Aziz and some of the locations where this love story is going to flourish, with the railway station being the focal point because that played an important part in the initial seasons too. Khuda Aur Mohabbat was mostly shot in Bhawalpur therefore the team has brought to life the essence of that city and it can already be felt in the promos. This is definitely the drama that has must-watch written all over it.
After the success of Suno Chanda, the writer of the serial came up with a new script, a new idea, and a fresh cast. It is unfortunate that because of the lockdown this drama could not air in 2020 which otherwise would’ve been a Ramzan special. However, the good news is that the team has once again resumed the shooting and they are working on the project. It is already foreseeable that it will air in Ramzan this year and those who loved Suno Chanda can definitely have high expectations from this.
The drama serial Chupke Chupke is going to be a comedy revolving around two families. The fans of Suno Chanda will definitely find a lot of similarities considering it is coming from the same writer. However, after Khaas and Kashf, Danish Nawaz is once again going back to his old ways of directing a comic play which he is already skilled at. Chupke Chupke also has a lot of hype because of the stunning actors who have chosen to be a part of this play. Ayeza Khan and Osman Khalid Butt will be seen as a lead pair and Arsalan Naseer of Comics By Arsalan is also making his acting debut with this drama. This is definitely another drama that is on our must-watch list this year.
Neeli Zinda Hai

Drama serial Neeli Zinda Hai stars Mohib Mirza, Sana Javed, and Sonia Mishal in leading roles. The drama serial Neeli Zinda Hai got a lot of popularity because the previous recent projects of both Sana Javed and Mohib Mirza, namely Ruswai and Dushman e Jaan were superhit serials. The audience loved their acting and also felt that they both have been rightfully selective about their projects, therefore it sort of became a known fact that this drama would be different too considering how Sana and Mohib decided to be a part of it. Till now, not a lot of details are known about this drama but it is going to be a thriller and horror drama which will show Mohib Mirza and Sonia Mishal as a married couple with a child in the initial phase of the drama.

This drama once again has caught a lot of attention because of the star cast. Urwa Hocane is known for being very selective while picking quality projects. Saboor Aly has become the new sensation because she finally emerged as a front-runner in her currently on-air drama Fitrat. Imran Abbas already has a huge fandom and is a big name in the Pakistani drama industry, therefore it is a given that this drama is going to be quite promising. So far not a lot of details about Amanat have been revealed except that the drama is being shot in both Karachi and Islamabad.

This was another interesting episode of Raqs-e-Bismil which focused more on Moosa’s mad love for Zohra more than anything else. I must say that I am not the kind of person who instantly warms up to the love-at-first-sight scenarios but Moosa’s madness was quite convincing. I also feel that through this story the writer has shown just how quickly things can change! All the characters and performances are turning out to be the most interesting aspect of Raqs-e-Bismil. So far, all the leading characters have some surprises in store in every episode. I especially like the way the writer has shown contradictions in Moosa’s personality. He is much more than another religious figure with double standards. Being in love has revealed a naïve side of his personality, some degree of innocence even which is completely different from his rigid and regressive side which we were shown in the first episode.
I find Moosa’s character most interesting at the moment and Imran Ashraf did exceptionally well tonight while translating just how clueless he is at the moment. Zohra took me completely by surprise because of the way she ‘introduced’ her real self to Moosa! Esa is extremely likable but he is not the kind of person who would quietly put up with everything; his vocal side makes him more appealing. Sakina is stubborn, more than anything else, which gives the viewers variation in characters. Momin Saqib’s dialogue delivery was beyond impressive tonight especially when he was giving Sakina a reality check. So far, fate has been driving all these characters in different directions and even though all of them are intelligent and capable individuals, they are completely helpless in the face of destiny.
The Irony
The irony of the situation Moosa is in started when he introduced himself to the people Zohra called out for help. The fact that he was so sure that he was not doing anything wrong was reiterated by him repeatedly throughout this episode. He is too afraid to acknowledge that he is in love because only a few days back he vowed never to fall in love. He is also someone who has always looked down upon love in general and would have killed someone who dared to fall in love! All his circumstances can easily be termed as a direct outcome of the buddua Sakina gave him when he forced her into getting married to Esa. There can be no other explanation for Moosa pursuing a woman the way he has been in these episodes. Even now, he is not willing to admit that he ‘likes’ her. Moosa was like a young child today who had discovered something brand new and was trying really hard figuring out what it was. He wants to spend the rest of his life with Zohra but he does not know why! That is why I feel that the writer has shown through his track that sometimes a person has no idea what fate has in store for them. Only a few days back Moosa was completely in charge and focused; now he is trying hard to figure something completely new out.
Another irony in this entire situation has to be Zohra’s hijab and even the tiny details such as why she wears those gloves. Moosa’s dialogue about wanting to marry someone who wouldn’t even show her hands to others will surely come to haunt him. The writer has shown in such an impactful manner that the stereotypes attached to hijab can sometimes be so wrong just like any other such fixed beliefs. It was amusing that Moosa questioned the views attached to his beard and men who looked like molvis but he did not for a second question the beliefs he had attached to women who cover themselves. I am still waiting to find out what will make Moosa pursue Zohra even after finding out the truth.
Moosa’s first interaction with Saleem Mairaj’s character was another meaningful scene. All of a sudden Moosa realized that even though he was lost in his own world at the moment, everyone around him could see what was going on. I absolutely loved Moosa and Zohra’s interactions tonight. Imran Ashraf was convincing throughout and Sarah Khan it seems will be playing a different role in this one after all. Instead of telling Moosa who she was, she decided to show it to him! I thought that was really amusing and much more effective. Moosa’s engagement was a little too sudden, I am waiting to watch how that will impact his track.
The Dare & Promise
Esa decided to give Sakina a reality check in this episode. His dialogues were brilliantly written since they reflected so many different aspects of his personality. We all know that he is in love with Sakina and he is also hurt. His dialogues tonight also showed how much respect he had for Sakina’s mother and his father. His definition of ghairat was also different from that of Moosa. The most interesting aspect of this confrontation however was the dare; unknowingly he provoked Sakina who is already quite agitated as it is. It seems she will try to get in touch with Kamran and she might even end up falling in love with Esa at some point. Her dialogue, ‘khuda na kare wo wakt aye ke mujhe tum se mohabbat ho’, could turn out to be another one of those dialogues that will be proven wrong as the story progresses. Esa and Sakina’s track keeps my interest alive as well even though they do not get a lot of screen time.
Final Remarks
I must admit that I was not expecting Raqs-e-Bismil to be such an unconventional love story full of irony. So far, the tracks of all the leading characters are unusual and interesting. The preview of the next episode showed that Moosa’s father will find out about his meetings with Zohra. Moosa’s ‘confusion’ will only worsen after finding out the truth. His expressions in the preview of the next episode however clearly suggested that he is madly in love and will now feel more helpless than ever! I am eagerly looking forward to what the writer has in store for us in the upcoming episodes.
