Hassan Sheheryar Yasin, widely known as HSY, is one of the most celebrated and A-list Pakistani fashion designers. His remarkable designs are adored by a huge number of people, and he primarily caters to an elite clientele due to his high-end and expensive collections. HSY began working in fashion design and choreography in 1994, eventually establishing himself as a highly successful fashion designer. Talking about it, HSY said, “My mother decided to get a divorce when I was just one or two years old. It was a bold step, taken for the future and happiness of her children. She felt it was the right decision. I won’t say anything negative about my father, as I respect him; he passed away two years ago—may Allah bless him with Jannah. My mother was brave in choosing what she thought was best for us. Both my paternal and maternal grandmothers were real sisters. My maternal grandfather (Nana) was once the mayor of Faisalabad. We never relied on anyone else because our mother taught us to be independent, even while we were abroad. She wanted me to be educated, despite working four jobs. We barely got to spend time with her, yet she worked so hard. My mother is my hero. She taught us independence, and her only wish for us was to grow up self-reliant and independent.”

HSY is one of the biggest names in the Pakistani fashion industry. He started from scratch and he has worked his way up to the success that he has today. HSY is one of the first choices of all the big celebrities and the ruling elite of Pakistan. He is also very open about how he has worked hard to reach the place that he is at today and has a bigger role in shaping the fashion scene of Pakistan.

HSY was a guest on Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast and he spoke about the latest trend of youngsters wearing really tight clothes and flaunting off their bodies all the time. He said that he thinks everyone has the liberty to feel good about their bodies and he comes from an era where they used to have certain restrictions and maybe that is why he feels weird to see all these clips on social media.

While sharing the news he wrote, “Humbled and proud to be part of the Oscar committee for 2020.”

He also shared further details and said, “The committee will be chaired by two-time Academy Award and Emmy winning documentary filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and includes Film Director Asad-ul-Haq, Actor Mehwish Hayat and Musician Faisal Kapadia.”

The Oscar committee will be responsible for choosing one film as Pakistan’s official submission for the International Feature Film Award.

HSY shared a different opinion from Pakistani fashion designer Maria B. He stated that everyone should wear Farshi Shalwar, as it looks beautiful on everyone.

Talking about it, HSY said, “Everyone should get it stitched. Farshi Shalwar is a great choice for our culture because women in Pakistan come from different backgrounds, some are modern and some are modest but one thing is common among them that they all share one religion, Islam. It is their wish to look beautiful yet modest. They want to follow fashion but they don’t want to show their body curves. Farshi Shalwar offers them a trendy yet modest look.”

He further added, “Let me tell you, you can wear a Farshi Shalwar with a knee-length shirt—it looks incredibly stylish and elegant with a long shirt. It is a misconception that it should be worn only with extremely short shirts. My collection features Farshi Shalwars with long shirts. Fawad Khan is among the biggest stars of Pakistan. He has given many hit projects to Pakistan before he shited focus on his Bollywood career. HSY on the other hand is one of the biggest designers and actors of Pakistan and he is friends with Fawad. Recently Fawad is going through a lot of criticism. It all started with the star promoting his upcoming Indian film Abir Gulaal which then got shelved after the Pahalgam Attacks.

The super talented HSY aka Hassan Sheheryar Yasin, is a Pakistan-based TV host, actor, and fashion designer. Recently, HSY appeared in an exclusive interview with “Gloss ETC By Maliha Rehman”.

HSY while talking about his performance in his debut serial ‘Pehli Si Muhabbat’, mentioned that “Ishrat Made In China was quite different from Pehli Si Muhabbat, It had a different scale and emotions. My role in Pehli Si Muhabbat was quite difficult in which I had to remain stiff and carry a lot of emotions.”

“I made a strong friendship bond with 2 people on the set of Pehli Si Muhabbat, Saba Faisal and Shabir Jan. I love Saba Faisal, she’s one of my best friend now. She taught me each and everything on the set, how to deliver a dialogue, how to act. On the other hand, Shabir Jan is a legend himself but he helped me a lot on the set. He was the one who took me under his wings. I flew through Pehli Si Muhabbat because of Saba and Shabir Jan, because they guided me and I couldn’t have better teachers than them”, added HSY.

Pakistani cinema owners had lifted the ban on Indian films a while back but new film’s couldn’t release in Pakistan due to NOC issues. Pm Nawaz Sharif had recently formed a committee to clear at least 2-3 Indian films a month and latest reports suggest that Hritik Roshan’s Kaabil will hit Pakistani cinemas tomorrow(January 27) and if there’s any kind of delay it might be pushed to this Saturday but will certainly release over the weekend.

Mahira Khan’s Raees and Hritik Roshan’s Kaabil, released internationally on January 25. Bollywood films will now finally start screening in Pakistan but the future of Raees is still uncertain. There is no confirmation regarding the release date but the news doing rounds is that it might release on February 3rd, 2017.

Asad Siddiqui and Zara Noor Abbas recently made an appearance in Time Out With Ahsan Khan. In the show, Ahsan Khan asked both Zara and Asad that what are the benefits of marriage. Did they flourish more as a couple?

Asad replied that it’s obvious when two minds work together, we get a better product. Asad also shared: “I was working in the industry then Zara came into my life and I did get a push which was for a good purpose in a very positive way”. Similarly, Actress Zara Noor Abbas suffered from body shaming. She shared her experience of dealing with body shaming.

She said, “There was a time in my life when I had to tell myself to stop and make it a point where I  have to embrace myself, embrace my size, no matter what size I am. My talent is not going to suffer because of that.”

“The reason I was ashamed because of my body. I was body shamed for a very very long time on social media. I had to block out of it because if I keep listening to them then I am going to lose focus.”

Talking about why people compare her with Mahira Khan she said, “People who say that I talk like Mahira Khan so Mahira is an intelligent woman, so great if they are comparing me. Of course, I am glad if this comparison is with Mahira Khan. I feel like she is one of the biggest stars in our country. She has represented us globally so anybody like her would be an asset to our industry.”

She further talked about the effects of body shaming, she said, “It’s upsetting and traumatic when you undergo surgery or you start doing these pills and injections to lose weight but if you are going out and gymming and getting yourself in shape that’s fine. However, if you are going to let them affect you and stop wearing what you wear that’s when it’s concerning and negative.” 

“I did go through a patch where a lot of people came up to me and told me ‘you shouldn’t wear jeans’ and ‘you should never wear sleeveless’ because you are so ‘big’. That’s when I realized if this person feels something about me, I think I should do it twice and take pictures and put it up,” she added.

The negativity of body shaming has never stopped Zara Noor Abbas from being who she is.

In a few days I got the script and after that Colonel Umair and Nadeem Baig conducted a zoom meeting with me. Nadeem Baig asked me to read out some Urdu dialogues and make a video, it was quite difficult for me but I did and Nadeem Baig was satisfied with what I did”, added Yehali.
