Nabeel Qureshi Is Unhappy With Lesser Screens For Load Wedding!

This Ed was huge for Pakistani cinema. Three big-budget films with a glitzy star cast were released. All of them are performing extremely well at the box-office with JPNA 2 in the lead. Though all the films have performed well JPNA 2 and Parwaaz both have done better than Load Wedding pertaining to the lesser screens given to the latter. The director of the film Nabeel Qureshi has expressed his disappointment with the situation in cinemas:

Nabeel Qureshi Is Unhappy With Lesser Screens For Load Wedding!Nabeel Qureshi Is Unhappy With Lesser Screens For Load Wedding!

The situation has been similar in all cinemas as Load Wedding has got the least number of shows and it is still performing well. The release of three major films together has clearly taken a toll on the business!

Aatish Episode 1 & 2 — Review Story

Produced by MD Productions ‘Aatish‘ is the new prime time drama serial on Hum T.V that airs every Monday. The drama serial has been written by Shagufta Bhatti while Saima Waseem has directed it, it stars Azfer Rehman and Hina Altaf in the lead roles of Sheheryar and Asma respectively. What attracted me to watch this drama was the catchy OST. Hassan Munir’s composition along with Sabir Zafar’s lyrics and Ali Tariq’s voice give the sound track a very soulful touch worthy of a love saga. The drama revolves around Asma (Hina Altaf) who was left at the house where her mother worked as a maid when she was just a baby. Asma’s father was an alcoholic and her mother was scared he might sell baby Asma some day just to get some booze so out of that fear she left Asma with the lady (Azra Mansoor) she worked for. Asma calls her Ammi and even though she knows she is the daughter of the maid who worked at this house previously she still considers herself part of the family. Aatish Episode 1 & 2 --- Review Story Azra Mansoor assays the role of lady of the house really well she is kind and wise and basically everything you expect a granny figure to be. Ammi lives with her son Saad (Aqeel Abbas) and daughter in law Nazia (Madiha Rizvi) Anna bee and her grand son Hadi. Asma is portrayed as a very immature and childish character but then again that could be Asma’s coping mechanism for dealing with her past trauma. Asma regards Saad as her elder brother and Saad Bhai also considers her a part of the family which is why he is always invested in her studies. He keeps encouraging Asma to study and make something of her life but Asma finds it hard to focus on her studies and that’s what Asma’s days revolve around working, taking care of the family and struggling with studies. Unlike Ammi, Saad and Hadi Nazia treats Asma mostly like a maid. Things go a little berserk in the family when Naureen Appa (Saba Hameed) who is Ammi’s eldest daughter comes home from America. Naureen’s husband died because of which she had to raise her two sons Salar and Sheheryar (Azfer Rehman) alone. It is established that Naureen lead a tough life alone in a foreign land and raised the two boys to be successful independent men. The reason behind this visit to Pakistan is Naureen’s intention of getting her elder son Salar married to her late husband’s niece Maria. Salar is portrayed to be a very elder brotherly figure who is an obedient son and very affectionate towards everyone on the contrary Sheheryar is the mischievous young-ling who still needs a lot of growing up to do. Aatish Episode 1 & 2 --- Review Story When the two adult kids Asma and Shehryar meet the results are naturally disastrous. They avail every opportunity of making each other miserable. It is evident that they have started forming an attachment that both of them are unaware of. Because of Naureen’s and her son’s arrival Ammi appoints her house help’s son Saadatmand for extra help. Naureen suggests the idea that since Asma is so pivotal to this household she should be married to someone like Saadatmand who lives and works in this very house so Asma wouldn’t have to leave Ammi ever. Asma is not a huge fan of the idea and for the first time she has started acknowledging her place in this family which is noting more than that of a maid. The plot looks predictable so far but we await to see how and when both Asma and Shehryar will realize that despite the differences between them they have both formed a bond like nothing they have experienced before. Overall the story isn’t something new so it would be a challenge for the entire team to make this drama stand out from the rest of the same genre. Most of the times in Pakistani dramas the portrayal of Pakistani American nationals isn’t convincing enough same is the problem with this drama. I understand that the budget and time factors limit the amount of detail that can be worked on in such projects but it’d be nice to see such portrayals done right once in a while. Saba Hameed, Azra Mansoor, Madiha Rizvi, Hina Altaf and even Saadatmand are doing a great job at assaying their roles. On the other hand Azfer Rehman’s portrayal of Shehryar seems a bit forced same is true for the actors playing Salar and Hadi. The soundtrack as mentioned earlier is top notch. I have previously seen Hina in serious roles and this role is the exact opposite of what she has done previously but she surely is nailing it. It’s a good start despite some flaws and we are intrigued to see where this journey takes us. How’d you find the first two episodes of’Aaatish’?

Meri Gurya Episode 15 & 16 Story – Justice Denied!

These two episodes of Meri Gurya had quite a few unexpected and horrifying developments. These episodes were also emotional, fast-paced and upsetting like all the previous ones. The makers of the drama have definitely managed to get all their messages across loud and clear! Sadly, the most important point highlighted in this episode is one of the most bitter realities of our society. Even though Shehnaz and Safina were determined to get justice for Abida but the pressures and the threats culminating into actions turned into a major setback. It was terribly sad watching a mother who had just lost her daughter in the most tragic manner possible, fighting so many different battles at once and ultimately being punished for taking a stand for her daughter only because the criminal and the criminal minded people had more support than the victims and their families had!

Dabeer’s character is getting even more evil with every passing episode and Mohsin Abbas Haider continues to impress. The makers of the drama have shown realistically how so many people fail to tell the difference between right and wrong. In this episode the viewers once again saw how some people’s vested interests and egos got in the way of Shehnaz and Safina. This drama shows why staying quiet after something tragic like this is always considered as a more “safe” option. It also shows that when people like Sheikh sahab take desperate and criminal steps to satisfy their ego the only person they are helping is the murderer and the rapist. Dabeer is a sick-minded evil serial killer who keeps the toys of the girls he murdered as trophies. Right from the beginning, the writer has shown that this man has absolutely no conscience and no remorse – something which makes perfect sense because anyone who is capable of questioning their actions would not repeatedly kill innocent girls. I have watched many documentaries about serial killers and I must say that Dabeer’s character is brilliantly etched-out. He has all the traits of a psychopath and Mohsin Abbas Haider has translated this character superbly on screen.

Meri Gurya Episode 15 & 16 Story - Justice Denied!

Although Dabeer has always been shown as pure evil but even then what he did to his sister tonight was shocking! This just went to show that he can kill anyone at all – whether it is a girl who lives in the neighborhood or his own sister. I am glad it was shown that Samreen suspected Dabeer and started questioning him because it was too obvious that he was hiding something. It was however strange that Safina fell for Dabeer’s lies and believed that Samreen actually ran away with someone. Even though Safina asked Samreen once if there was someone in her life who she wanted to get married to but she knew Samreen so well and she also knows for sure that it was Dabeer who gave her poison. This was the only development in this episode which did not really make sense.

These episodes had plenty of scenes covering what Shehnaz’s daughters were going through and how Shehnaz was dealing with the situation. I absolutely love Shehnaz’s role because it isn’t just inspiring but also close to reality. Shehnaz’s biggest strength are her daughters, no matter what she is going through she always makes sure that her daughters know that they are loved and their mother will be there for them at all times. Although Shehnaz heard her daughters saying that their mother did not love them any more but she did not shout at them and neither did she start crying but her approach was amazing! She went there and told them how she had loved them and cared for them when they were little so that they knew how special they were for her. Shehnaz’s scenes with her daughter are always poignant and beautiful! Sania Saeed is a brilliant actress who always manages to win me over but I especially like her in this role. I truly felt for Safina tonight too, for the first time it seemed like she was tired and clueless as well. She even asked Dabeer to stay with her so that she could feel safe which basically went to show that she could not cope on her own. Dabeer’s cold response and what he said later on once again showed that he was incapable of feeling anything for anyone. Sonya Hussyn is doing complete justice to her character which is why I always look forward to her scenes. Yawar started playing a more active role in the story with this episode and although previously he had given up, now he took a stand for Abida and those raising a voice for her whenever he could.

Meri Gurya Episode 15 & 16 Story - Justice Denied!

These episodes were two of the most upsetting episodes of this drama but the preview of the next episode gave hope that Shehnaz and Safina will not give up after all. There will be protests in the upcoming episodes and Safina will start noticing the “other side” of Dabeer’s personality. This drama keeps me at the edge of my seat and never disappoints. The entire team has done a remarkable job of keeping everything as real as possible. I am looking forward to the time when Dabeer will get caught and punished.

Load Wedding – Film Review

When we say that Pakistani cinema is progressing, we actually say it because of movies like Load Wedding. The movie is really a masterpiece. The Nabeel Qureshi directorial has Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat playing the leads Raja and Meerab. I’ll just break it down without giving out spoilers!

Load Wedding - Film Review

Script:

A movie actually stands on its script. Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza have done a commendable job with the script. They have given not one but two social messages, but not once do the viewers feel that the messages are being forced on them. They have drawn attention to the huge issues of dowry and ill-treatment of widows and girls who remain unmarried in a satirical way. You feel the graveness of the issues even when they are being dealt with lightly and humorously. An aesthetically perfect script is what makes Load Wedding a fun-loaded ride from start to end.

Acting:

Every cast member in Load Wedding gave his/her hundred percent to the film. Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat have nailed Raja And Meerab. They have got the accent right which gives the overall movie a natural touch. Samina Ahmed is great as always. She has played a desi mom and saas to the perfection. Faiza Hassan has brilliantly portrayed the depression and bitterness of a girl who is shunned by the society for not getting married. Another important part of the movie is Qaiser Piya who plays Raja’s friend Nazir. He also has done justice to his role. Yes, at some points one can find Faiza’s character very loud but that was what the story demanded so it goes with it perfectly.

Direction and Editing:

Nabeel Qureshi has done his job well as he translates the loads of weddings in Pakistan perfectly on screen. He has made his actors what they were supposed to do. With perfectly timed shots and the overall rural look of the film, Nabeel does make you feel that it is a common man’s story.

Editing, however, has been the only sloppy point of the movie. The whole game show scenario could have been cut short a bit since it gets a little too extra. Baby Baaji aka Farhana’s reactions were a little repetitive. Repeating the scenes, again and again, was not necessary to establish the point being made. This was the only little miss for Load Wedding.

Music:

I found Load Wedding’s music the best among all the three releases this Eid ul Adha. Rangeya is a great romantic song while Munday Lahore De was the true wedding song among all three released this Eid. Shani Arshad has really taken his job super seriously and given a great soundtrack.

In a single line Load Wedding is a perfectly written and perfectly directed film, with a few glitches in the editing avoided, this one should be watched and remembered for its beauty!

Overall Rating: 9.5/10

Dil Mom Ka Diya Episode 1 & 2 Review Story – Clichéd Start!

Ohkay so, produced by Next Level Entertainment & Six Sigma Productions, wtitten by Saira Raza & directed by Shahid Shafat; Dil Mom Ka Diya is the new prime time drama airing on ARY Digital on Tuesdays. The first episode was full of clichés but I am sure the story will have a lot more to offer once it will kick-start. The first 2 episodes introduced the characters & their household dynamics in a detailed manner, despite not being new, I will say that everything was definitely done well.

Afzal (Yasir Nawaz) is the eldest of 5 siblings & because he took care of them after his parents died, he couldn’t really get a chance to get married & settle down. Afzal spent a chunk of his life struggling to settle his brothers & sisters & they all look upto him. One of Afzal’s sister Salma (Erum Akhtar) is married, his brothers Aqmal (Hassam Khan) & Ahzar (Imran Ashraf) are studying & so is youngest sister Kausar (Zubi Majeed). They all are a close knit happy family with everyone having immense respect for Afzal because he is like a father figure to all of them.

Dil Mom Ka Diya Episode 1 & 2 Review Story - Clichéd Start!

Molvi Feroz Baig (Qavi Khan) has a small family consisting of his wife & 2 daughters Ulfat (Neelam Munir) & Farhat (Alizeh Shah). Ulfat is boisterous, she is unapologetically herself, she is an idealist & someone who dreams big. Ulfat always attracts attention on her because of her looks but so far, she hasn’t really exploited that to her advantage. Ulfat wants an escape from the life that she is living & she definitely imagines getting married to a handsome, young & wealthy man.

Dil Mom Ka Diya Episode 1 & 2 Review Story - Clichéd Start!

Ulfat happens to be the point of concern for her parents too especially her mother where she fears that she might not be able to find a suitable husband whereas Molvi Sahab worries that he might not have sufficient funds to get his daughters married decently. Ulfat has quite an image in her neighbourhood, that is why aunties around her gossip about her which her mother is aware of too. Well, not to sound like those who gossip about her but Ulfat even the younger one Farhat are too modern considering the fact that their father is a humble preacher who is also quite modest & has nothing much to offer to his daughters financially. Well, Molvi Sahab gives classes to Kausar & just when she completes her course, Afzal requests Molvi Sahab to give him Quranic classes too. Afzal respects Molvi Sahab a lot & that is why, when he falls sick, Afzal makes sure to bear all the expenses in order to provide him with the best medical facility.

Salma shows concerns for Afzal’s marriage & she is adamant that her brother should now settle down. Despite Afzal telling Salma repeatedly that he would want to get married to a girl who has a same temperament as him, shares same interests & is mature, Salma brushes that thought off because she is focused on only one thing that she will pick a young & beautiful girl for her over-aged brother. Afzal is well aware of his age & that is why he is not even too keen on getting married but Salma doesn’t really understand. It is too obvious that Salma’s controlling & nosey nature will definitely create issues in Afzal’s marital life!

Well, like it happens in all our dramas, Molvi Sahab gets a heart attack & because he knows Afzal is a gem of a person, Molvi Sahab tells him to get married to his daughter Ulfat. Ulfat gets pressurized & is forced to say yes to her Nikkah with Afzal that takes place then & there in the hospital room. Obviously, Ulfat later creates a havoc because she is forced into marriage with a man she had been making fun of just a few moments before. Afzal doesn’t get the chance to see Ulfat but Ulfat who had seen him having a conversation with her father & his doctors goes into shock because Afzal is nothing like what she had imagined her ideal husband would be. I must say, this is not the first time our writers have presented a weird picture of Islamic concepts but it is too obvious that no Nikkah is valid if a girl is mentally or emotionally forced into it like Ulfat was by her parents!

Salma & Kausar pay a visit to Ulfat’s place to finally meet her but before that happens, Salma raises concern over Molvi’s daughter being too over-aged for Afzal?!? Well, they meet Ulfat & just a glimpse of her is enough for Salma to get convinced that Ulfat is perfect because she fits the bill of the girl Salma wanted for Afzal.

Overall, the direction of these episodes was good & so was everyone’s acting but I wish to see the story being more than just a compilation of seen-a-million-times-before clichés. I have never seen Neelam Munir’s project/acting before so I really have nothing to compare with, that’s why I am not sure how did she act because at times it did look like she was either trying too hard or may be that’s how she usually acts? I am unsure but let’s see what she has to offer in the remaining episodes. The production value seemed great & also, it did look like the director gave a free-hand to the actors in family scenes because they all seemed relaxed & comfortable enough to look like a happy family. My actual reason of tuning to Dil Mom Ka Diya is Hira Mani & Imran Ashraf as they both are phenomenal actors. Anyways, let’s see how things roll. Please share your thoughts.

Cheers,

Ishq Tamasha Episode 25 Review Story – Flashbacks!

This episode was an amalgamation of Mirha flashbacks. We all are familiar now with how good Mirha is. She is an expert in household chores, giving relationship advice and being a bechari all the time. And all the characters were busy remembering her talents in the episode.

Mehrab is totally in love with her. He thinks and dreams about her. And the bond of his love is so strong that he even dreamt about her hardships. The reason he married Rushna has been lost in all this dreaming and he is not really doing anything to make her pay for her sins. It would have been better if he could have married Mirha instead. Rushna will pay for Arham’s death with her headache which she would still have gotten had Mehrab not married her.

Ishq Tamasha Episode 25 Review Story - Flashbacks!

Aqeela is still repetitive in her behaviour. She is doing what she had done to Mirha and Rushna in the past. Palwasha is openly admitting her love for Ghufran and Aqeela is still trying to marry her off to someone else. Rushna’s whole plan about calling and lying was again a very desperate attempt. But this time it didn’t go in her favour like the past. Aqeela behaved with her the same way she behaved with Mirha and threw her out of the house.

Wahaj was, is and will be a loser. This is the weakest character I have seen in a long time. You are realizing your mistakes and then you will repeat them. This guy has still not tried to find out why Mirha was living at Mehrab’s place. How he ended up marrying Rushna and not Mirha. And after all this mess he still keeps confessing his love for Mirha which sounds useless and absurd. Wahaj needs to grow some spine and know what is actually happening in his house.

Th episode was more of a drag and with the dialogues like Rushna tum marr kyun nahin jati? And Ammi aap mera mara muun dekhein, Rushna’s death is becoming inevitable. A convenient end for a bad character!

Lashkara Episode 18 Story Review – Finally!

Ohkay so, finally this episode of Lashkara not only took the story but also exposed the truth in front of everyone. As much as I am happy that now the truth has surfaced, I will still say that I am disappointed in Bubbly because she didn’t do what she was supposed to!

The writer added the touch of honor & dignity that is usually associated with the females of the house in this episode. Iqbal’s outburst & then Sheeda & Saima’s counter argument in order to defend Bubbly was a depiction of that. I really don’t think the entire Qandeel Baloch reference was required or added any weight to their argument because even without it, what they were advocating was right & made a lot of sense. Nasreen told everything to Taya Jee & that’s when the hell broke loose in Muneer’s house but then again, I didn’t feel for Muneer because of his dejected state of mind, I felt bad for him because his daughter was not telling him the truth that he was entitled to know.

Sunny spoke to Bubbly & he decided to prove his love to her by doing right by her because he was the one who ruined her life, so it was good to see him taking the responsibility of fixing everything. Even though the preview of the next episode suggests that Sunny has an ulterior motive & he won’t let go of Bubbly easily but still, at least what he did cleared the mess up. Sunny knew he had to go to some level of extreme to get the truth out of Nikki but it was Akram who spilled the beans. Akram proved that he loves Nikki because he couldn’t stand the idea of Sunny causing any harm to her. Nikki really has travelled afar in her hatred for Bubbly & her love for Tipu that she has not given a sincere chance to Akram who actually happens to be a nice guy. Akram loves Nikki just the way she is, he does everything that she says, may be its his way of getting Nikki to love him but that hasn’t happened yet. The day Nikki will let go of her past will be the day when she will see that Akram is a devoted husband & eventually she will find her happiness in him!

Feeka found out the truth & went to see Bubbly so that he could apologize to her as well as her entire family. In this entire scenario, I have felt a lot of sympathy for Feeka & everyone else except Bubbly because she chose to turn into a forced bechari who couldn’t help herself whereas in reality, there was so much she could do like telling the truth to her parents for starters!

Well looks like things are going to get back to normal in Bubbly Feeka’s marital life for now but don’t know what other curveballs await for them. I really hope they push through & stick together forever. Acting & direction for sure is top-notch, I just hope the pace doesn’t slow down again. Please share your thoughts!

JPNA2 Is Ruling The Box Office!

This Eid there were a lot of anticipations as for the three big film released for the audience. All three Parwaaz Hai Junoon, Load Wedding and JPNA 2 had fans waiting anxiously for them and the question was which one of these will come out victorious at the box office. The answer is here and JPNA 2 has done the most business, though the other two films have also done well. JPNA 2 as done a gross box office collection of nearly 16 crores in 4 days which is a huge number. The film also made a record for the fastest 10 crores.

JPNA2 Is Ruling The Box Office!

Parwaaz Hai Junnon also did business with Junoon as it collected about 12 crores in 4 days. People are looking impressed with Hamza’s return to the silver  screen:

JPNA2 Is Ruling The Box Office!

Load Wedding got limited screens due to the other two films having a huge ensemble cast but still managed to earn over 6 crores which are a good amount in given circumstances:

JPNA2 Is Ruling The Box Office!

Teefa in Trouble has also crossed 40 crores and has held well in the presence of biggies. Eid ul Adha has really been big for the Pakistani box office!

Fahad Calls Himself Salman Khan While OKB Thinks He’s Akshay!

Fahad Mustafa has done extremely well as both his films JPNA 2 and Load Wedding are doing well at the box office. The actor is already a part of Pakistanis’ life with his hit game show Jeeto Pakistan. Fahad has been doing films which have released on Eid for the past few years and the audience has shown immense love for them.

Fahad Calls Himself Salman Khan While OKB Thinks He's Akshay!

In 2018, three titans clashed at the box office on Eid ul Adha and Fahad was a part of two of them. Both his films Load Wedding where he plays the lead role and JPNA 2 with an ensemble cast have gone well with the audience. While talking to Haroon Rashid BBC Asian Network, Fahad subtly compared himself to Salman Khan. He said:

We hardly make films in Pakistan so when a good production house is involved, one should be a part of it. I am already a part of the Na Maloom Afraad franchise and the second installment did really well last year. JPNA is also one of the hit franchises which I think became bigger when I joined. I have often had films releasing on Eid as well and I don’t know if I should say this but I feel like the Salman Khan of Pakistan.

Fahad said this as Salman Khan is known for releasing films on Eid. Baaghi actor Osman Khalid Butt, however, has a different opinion. He thinks of Fahad as more of an Akshay Kumar than Salman Khan:

Fahad Calls Himself Salman Khan While OKB Thinks He's Akshay! Fahad Calls Himself Salman Khan While OKB Thinks He's Akshay!

Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 – Film Review

Written by: Vasay Chaudhry
Directed by: Nadeem Baig
Produced by: Six Sigma Plus & Salman Iqbal Films

*Spoiler Alert*

Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 keeps the essence of its prequel intact but the addition of new characters and actors definitely makes the film more entertaining. This time around Sherry’s (Humayun Saeed) story is different but the relationship between the three friends remains the same. Right from the time the movie starts, you look forward to watching Pervaiz, Sheikh and Sherry together and once they are finally together, their journey is more entertaining than it was in the prequel. In this Sequel Rahat (Fahad Mustafa) is the new main lead and he makes his presence felt in every single scene. Fahad Mustafa definitely takes the lead in this film for so many reasons and outshines all the other male leads. Ahmed Ali Butt is once again seen doing what he does best – nailing a comic role! Vasay Chaudhry’s comic timing is always remarkable therefore he does not disappoint either. Just like many other romantic comedies made in Pakistan, this one too opens in Pakistan and later takes its viewers to Turkey and then Dubai. Like every other comedy film which essentially revolves around men, the female leads do not have a bigger role to play but their characters have definite traits and are not merely caricatures. The comedy element of the film is far more entertaining than the romantic one. The romantic tracks are not covered convincingly, I did not find myself rooting for either of the couples. Sherry and Salina (Kubra Khan) fell in love a little too soon and the dialogues and situations that ensured immediately after their first meeting were not exactly convincing. Although, this is a comedy film and the situations do not necessarily have to make sense but even then this was a rare case of love at first sight.

Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 - Film Review

Although, there are jokes, scenarios and even dialogues in the film which are not exactly brand new but most of them were enjoyable. Jawani Phir Nahi Aani 2 is visually pleasing and the director Nadeem Baig has shot every single scene beautifully. There is a lot of focus on Pepe and Rahat’s relationship dynamics in the beginning of the film but later on you are left wondering if there was need to focus on this aspect in such detail. Out of the songs in the film “Aya Lariye” and “Lahore Teray Te” were the best ones – they were catchy, had a Pakistani feel to them and they were well choreographed and captured. Like most of the Pakistani films, this one too could have been easily chopped down. Also, like every other comedy film, this one too has social messages. Although, the Pakistan/India dialogues made the situations relatively more serious but the message they gave was well-put-together. I also feel that Humayun Saeed looks great in traditional attire and he cannot pull off the cool boy look any more. He also has more of a screen presence in serious and emotional situations. Fahad Mustafa’s wardrobe, his entire look and his body language was the most impressive. Ahmed Ali Butt was a lot like he is in award shows when he is giving performances therefore anyone who enjoys watching him do that will definitely enjoy this film as well.

Sarwat Gillani is just as likeable as Gul as she was in the prequel. Uzma Khan looks great in this film and her performance is superb too – she should be given more meaty roles in films because she looks good on the big screen. Mawra Hocane’s makeover is perfect but there is nothing new about her look or performance. In the first few scenes, it is easy to tell that Kubra Khan’s entire look is greatly inspired from that of Karina Kapoor, she also looks a lot like her in few scenes but Kubra looks much more pretty with the long hair and traditional look. Omer Shehzad was the surprise package in the film, I have never seen him perform before therefore watching him own his character with confidence was a pleasant surprise. He is another actor who should be seen on the big screen more often. Sohail Ahmed entertains as usual which was definitely not surprising. Kanwalijit Singh is extremely impressive as Salina’s father – loved his dialogue delivery and the treatment he gave to his character. Hamza Ali Abbasi makes an appearance in the end which is definitely good since he was an important part of the prequel. Adding political references in a film is risky business but JPNA makers took that risk! The story of the film however does not really justify the title.

Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 has more highs than lows. If you don’t over-analyze the jokes, want to watch a film with the sole purpose of being entertained then you will not be disappointed. If the social messages were not presented too seriously, the romantic tracks were not handled so carelessly and some of the scenes were chopped down then this film would have been so much better. Overall however, the film is visually pleasing and is sure to make you laugh right till the end.

Visaal Episode 22 Review Story – The Truth!

Ohkay so, this episode of Visaal covered the aftermath of Naheed’s decision of putting an end to her life. Everything that was shown was convincing like everyone’s reactions & the shock they all got after they found out what Naheed did.

Naheed’s letter might have cleared Akram’s name from the list of suspects but the fact remains that Molvi Ghufran & his friends know the truth about Akram & wanted to probe further after his recovery. Doodh Patti did try to keep things to himself but he also knew that Akram is going to land in deep trouble that is why he also told Munna to stay out of Akram’s business. Naheed’s death definitely distracted everyone & might also buy Akram some time to think for plan B but then again, he will have to answer a few questions because he does owe everyone an explanation. Yes, Naheed is no more, therefore Akram’s association with Molvi Ghufran has pretty much ended, so may be he might not be too keen to know why Akram fooled him plus he is grief stricken but I guess his friends would definitely want to know the truth about Akram’s background!

The police found out Naheed’s letter & handed it over to Molvi Ghufran which meant everyone eventually found out about what Naheed did but as much as I felt for him, I was glad that the letter silenced Molviyani & she got to know that it wasn’t Pari who ruined Naheed’s life, it was Naheed who was responsible for everything. I feel sad for Molvi Ghufran genuinely & I felt this respect for him even more where he stated that ‘Larki ka kisi mazhabi gharanay mai paida hona koi bari baat nahi, kamzor lamhon mai uska sabit kadam rehna hi asal tarbiyat hoti hai’. This was the dialogue of the episode. Indeed, Naheed’s parents never ever taught her to do whatever she did but then they also had no control over what she felt or how she was going to react over something as petty as a guy giving attention to Pari. Whatever Naheed did was solely her own decision & it is unfortunate that she ruined so many lives & also attempted taking Akram’s life too. I liked the fact that while blaming himself also, Molvi Ghufran reminded Molviyani that they failed as parents. I felt for him a lot!

Pari finally learned the truth when she got to read the letter. Her reaction was spot on, it was justified where she felt helpless that she couldn’t save Naheed plus she also couldn’t believe that her best friend could do something so extreme to her. Pari just cried hysterically & for the first time I found it justified though because there was no other way she could express how she was feeling because the relationship she cherished the most all her life basically boiled down to being a lie. Sad!

I am still interested to see how Akram will backtrack from what has happened but if people around him look at it that way, he actually himself is a victim so let’s see if they will go easy on him or not. Munna’s frequent visits as well as Pari’s growing comfort level with him do suggest that she will get married to him but I am not too happy about it. Let’s see what happens. Haara Dil Episode 20 Review Story —- Hearts & Attacks

So episode 20 had some unexpected turn of events including but not limited to Fehmi’s comeback. The secret is out in the open and Amtul does not like it not one bit so she does everything in her power to restore her lost control over her household. She uses her relationship with Afaan to manipulate Arham into divorcing Momina as expected but unexpectedly this gave Afaan a heart attack and that shifted the blame from Afaan and Arham to Amtul because her sin is now bigger.

Momina being the Mother Teresa that she is couldn’t stand the idea of Afaan ad Amtul separating because of her so she leaves the house which is now her husband’s house without telling him. This situation is so redundant now. Arham feels betrayed when he comes home and finds out that Momina is gone but he doesn’t tell Afaan anything about it given the heart attack he has recently had.

The conversation between Arham and Fizza was rather commendable. Arham stood his ground and dealt the situation rather well unlike Momina who would probably have started apologizing for something she hasn’t even done. Arham reminded Fizza that she isn’t the victim here she was well aware of his feelings towards this engagement and she agreed to get engaged anyway. He also reminded her how he never made any promises or proclaimed his undying love for her so she doesn’t get to play victim.

Haara Dil Episode 20 Review Story ---- Hearts & Attacks

Momina and Abeer reach home and find out that Fehmi is living there now. She got out of jail because the police couldn’t find any proof against her according to her. Later Fehmi goes over to Afaan’s place to meet Amtul and ask her for some money in reward for her services to Amtul that’s where she sees Arham and deliberately discloses the dealings between her and Amtul. Arham decides to leave the house after this discovery as was shown in the precap.

Areej also got some screen time today and she made it clear that Momina isn’t welcome in her home. On the other front we see that Faraz and his mother have a rather peculiar conversation in which it is implied that Faraz’s mother has some sort of rivalry with Amtul but at the same time she sympathizes with Afaan. The back story hasn’t been revealed yet but the suspense is growing.

I have been commending this show on it’s pace ever since the beginning and it still delivers on that front. Danish Taimoor has been rather good in past few episodes but Hiba has been a bit disappointing. The story is about to be concluded and it is being done well. This last storm is what will put everything out of order so that things can fall in the right place at last.

Over all this episode was pretty good like it’s predecessors. How’d you find this episode of Haara Dil?

Parwaaz Hai Junoon – Film Review!

Parwaaz Hai Junoon – written by Farhat Ishtiaq, directed by Haseeb Hassan & produced by Momina Duraid is a Pakistani film released on Eid ul Azha & it is definitely a must-watch because right from the beginning, it just grabs your attention & each & every frame tells a tale of the hard work that has gone into making this movie what it is.

Parwaaz Hai Junoon is a story revolving around the lives of Pakistani Air Force Cadets & Pilots. The movie shows all the phases that one goes through in order to serve their country; from having a dream in their eyes to join the Air Force, to perseverance shown through the course of their training, to the time when the Country needs their services, alongside their personal lives where they are just regular people experiencing all kinds of emotions. The movie has a perfect blend of everything; there’s comedy, there’s romance, there’s drama & then such moments where you are left teary eyed because you have formed this connection with all the characters that they affect you on an emotional level. Parwaaz Hai Junoon highlights how everyone associated with Air Force is not only a fighter by profession, but is a fighter & a go-getter in every aspect of life – that is why all the characters have one thing in common & that is competitiveness. I must say what I liked the most about Parwaaz Hai Junoon is that it doesn’t portray everyone as a robotic hero, they all are shown as human beings who have their strengths & weaknesses, which makes it all quite realistic.

The story keeps on shifting between the past & the present, which some viewers might find confusing at first but it later makes sense & everything falls into place. Sania (Hania Amir) & Hamza (Hamza Ali Abbasi) are the lead characters with the entire movie based on their journey; together & on their own as well. Nadir (Shaz Khan), Saad (Ahad Raza Mir), Zaid (Syed Shafat Ali) & Rashid Minhas (Sikandar Vincent Khan) are the supporting characters who also have a very strong role to play. The cast also includes actors like Rasheed Naz, Asif Raza Mir, Hina Bayat, Marina Khan, Kubra Khan, Shamoon Abbasi, Adnan Jaffar, Farhaan Ali Agha, Faris Shafi & Mustafa Changezi & each one of them have played their roles to perfection. It is worth mentioning how fit & schmick everyone looked & how they all paid attention to the body language, fitting the characters they were assigned to portray.

The songs are really nice & have been picturized beautifully too but I feel they could have cut down on a couple of them to show us a bit more of their lives as Cadets in training. My favorite has to be the Qawwali because the scenario that it was used for struck a chord even more because of that. A good part of the movie is dedicated to personal lives of Hamza, Sania & Nadir that at times I felt I wanted to see more of what was happening in the Air Force Academy. It won’t be wrong to say that Parwaaz Hai Junoon can also be classified as a love story but yes, when the movie ends, you totally come out feeling satisfied with the message conveyed loud & clear that the love for Pakistan overruled everything for all the characters. It has been reinforced repeatedly that for men serving their country, nothing else matters more than Pakistan. Operation Zarb e Azb has also been touched upon & the way the Cadets are trained to become GD Pilots has been shown convincingly as well but I wish this part was elaborated further because it was done so so well & was quite interesting to watch!

The movie is visually appeasing & aesthetically sound with the director doing complete justice to the beauty of Pakistan. Every single frame is awe-inspiring & I must say, the opening sequence along with all the other flying sequences were brilliantly done. Special effects & graphics were totally impressive. I must say I am impressed that in a span of 2 hours 10 minutes, they managed to show so much & gave coverage to each & every character that you don’t feel anything was missed out.

I highly recommend Parwaaz Hai Junoon & I must say, Hamza Ali Abbasi has found a new fan in me. He surely has carried the movie on his shoulders & Hania Amir proved that she was a right bet for playing such a huge role because she was phenomenal & has a strong screen presence. The chemistry between the characters is amazing too. Shaz Khan & Ahad Raza Mir were brilliant. Kubra Khan didn’t have much role to play & I feel any other actress could have done that character just fine. Syed Shafaat Ali was phenomenal & he perfectly provided that comic quotient which was needed in the film. Haseeb Hassan deserves a special mention because without his vision, Parwaaz Hai Junoon wouldn’t have been this good. Camera work, direction, angles & different shots contributed a lot in setting the mood of the film right.

If you want to enjoy this movie completely, I will suggest going without expecting anything & it will surely surprise you. I really didn’t have anything on my mind & I took the movie as it came & ended up enjoying it a lot. For me, a blend of everything works & because the movie started on a lighter note & then got intense, it ended up being a complete package. I won’t give anything away but I will say, my favorite character has to be of Sherbatgul & to find out who he/she is, you will have to watch Parwaaz Hai Junoon yourself!

Lashkara Episode 17 – Review Story !

Ohkay so, this episode of Lashkara was again a bit of a drag & I actually had a hard time watching it in one go. The pace is not the issue, but what’s bothersome is the way the reactions have been portrayed with too much focus on crying. I am actually looking forward to the time when thing will be sorted, but I guess before that happens we’ll have to bear with this mourning!

I really don’t get Bubbly’s stance in this. She thinks she has understood the meaning of life but she is mistaken. I couldn’t agree more with Saima as well as Nazeer where Saima told Bubbly that her husband & parents deserved to know the truth & Nazeer spoke about her mistake that she was wrong in blaming her ‘kismat’. It is actually frustrating that when Bubbly has not even looked for solutions, how can she just easily accept everything & choose this unnecessary suffering for herself? Bubbly’s approach is ridiculous. Yes, I get it, just because her husband doubted her, she lost everything but if she didn’t want to do the explaining, she could have told her parents the truth so that they could have dealt with everything themselves. Bubbly initially told Saima that she was keeping things from her parents because she didn’t want to see them upset or sad, so what is she doing now? By keeping them in the dark & giving them this stupid excuse, Bubbly is causing them more pain. Ohkay, even if she doesn’t want to live with Feeka for his sake, she needs to tell her parents the truth because whatever she is doing is not helping the case, at all!

Tayi’s character, though real is still quite annoying & this is exactly why I found it very odd in the last episode that she was too keen on Bubbly looking presentable in front of the guests. Saima is frustrated at Bubbly, but more at the fact that she is unable to do anything to help her because Bubbly herself is refusing to do something about it!

I am sure if Bubbly hadn’t demanded it, Feeka would not have thought about divorcing her but now when she has made up her mind, he can’t do much. In this mix, I don’t really blame Feeka. Yes, he couldn’t trust Bubbly but it was because he doesn’t even trust himself. He had a complex & that is why he believed & assumed that Bubbly wasn’t loyal to him – that’s his personality, he is full of complexes & he also had this thing in mind that his mother used her wealth to lure Bubbly into this marriage, so that is why I feel it was Bubbly’s job to do the explaining to her husband who already had so many inhibitions & fears regarding this relationship.

Let’s see what happens next but at this stage, I am not too happy with the way the story is shaping up. I hope it changes & Sunny does something too. Please share your thoughts.

Bay Dardi Episode 26 & 27 Full Audio Review – Shafay Ki Halat Bigr Gaye

Ishq Tamasha Episode 24 Review Story-Headache!

Yes, headache. No, I am not calling this drama a headache, it is what the evil (soon to be bechari) Rushna has. Rushna is a character who has not a single bone of goodness in her. She is filled with selfishness, rudeness and judgment. But seems like the makers do not want us to feel bad about her. So, she is having constant headaches and now a fainting spell too. This development can make her a bechari in seconds and will also clear way for Mirha and Mehrab.

Mirha was again a victim of Aqeela’s daughters. This happens to her again and again because she has zero IQ. She not only supports those girls but also keeps hoping that they will do her good. But after Rushna 1, we had a Rushna 2 in this episode. One more thing that annoys me to my core about this drama is PASAND KI SHAADI. No, I have nothing against love marriages but Ishq Tamasha shows that all you should be striving for in life is love marriage and this reinforcement episode after episode is ridiculous.

Ishq Tamasha Episode 24 Review Story-Headache!

Palwasha also hit a new low in the episode. She is just not becoming the Balika Vadhu of Pakistani dramas but she also ended up blaming Mirha for leaving the house. Mirha aapi ko to Wahaj bhai ka maan rakhna chahiye tha will go down in the history for being the cringiest dialogue ever. Wahaj also deserves a standing ovation for being the biggest ass in the whole world. The guy just never wants to see what is in front of his eyes. Why don’t you question your sisters what they are doing with their lives? Why you always have to ask Mirha about their mistakes?

Mirha finally left the house and even managed to give two or three good replies to Aqeela. She went to a hostel and did not contact Mehrab herself. Mehrab, on the other hand, is still locking away Rushna here and there and dreaming about Mirha.

I am afraid that the viewers will somehow end up watching Mirha and Mehrab looking after Rushna after she gets diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Let’s wait and watch!

Parwaaz Hai Junoon Is Not Postponed!

One of the big budget movies releasing this Eid ul Adha, the Hamza Ali Abbasi starrer Parwaaz Hai Junoon is reportedly getting delayed again. The film was due to release on Eid ul Fitr but was postponed to this Eid. With promotions in full swing, people were confused when the premiere of the film was delayed. The statement by Rafay Rashdi stated unavoidable circumstances for the decision:

“Due to unavoidable circumstances, we are canceling today’s premiere event. All other events and release date of the film remains unchanged. We will be releasing a statement shortly.”

Parwaaz Hai Junoon Is Not Postponed!

Soon after the news came out that the release of the film has been held by the Central Censor Board due to scenes which allegedly vilify Pakhtoons. PHJ has however been cleared by Sindh and Punjab Censor Boards. This was being considered as the reason for the film to get postponed again.

One of the lead actors Ahad Raza Mir has denied the rumours of the delay though:

Parwaaz Hai Junoon Is Not Postponed!

Hopefully, Parwaaz will release as the fans have waited long enough already!

Main Khayal Hoon Kisi Aur Ka Episode 8 And 9 Review-Good Bye!

This drama has rendered me speechless but unfortunately not in a good way. The million dollar question is what were the khayalat of the writer while writing Main Khayal Hoon Kisi Aur Ka. This drama is an amalgamation of so many wrongs that it deserves the award for the messiest drama next time at HUM Awards!

Main Khayal Hoon Kisi Aur Ka has degraded the institution of marriage in the worst way. They introduced talaaq in the first episode and forgot about it so easily. Divorce is the most despised thing in front of Allah SWT among halal things and they took it so lightly. They have not yet cleared if Dania is Armaan’s wife or not and they are showing them living together in the same house. How can they insult marriage in this way? Moreover showing a husband trying to convince his wife (if she is even his wife) to marry his own brother is ridiculous.

Main Khayal Hoon Kisi Aur Ka Episode 8 And 9 Review-Good Bye!

The drama tried to show how parents in our society pressurize their children for marriage. They also have tried to show the double standards of the society but have miserably failed in their endeavours. All MKHKAK has established uptill now is that marriage has no value. You can just wander around throwing talaaqs and qubools without giving a second thought. They have also been successful in establishing that if you are plain stupid and weak in decision making, you are a bechari because those are the things Dania is.

The concept of self-respect is also a victim of this story. A girl who has been ditched by her boyfriend should hate him. But we are watching Dania being jealous by her ex’s engagement. I know there is a strong market for bechari heroines in Pakistan but they should be bechari, not whiny and stupid. A bechari would be the one who is trying to save her marriage however cruel or stupid Armaan is. That would have been compatible with the concept of bechargi. But here we have a heroine who is drooling over her stupid husband’s coward brother. The two male leads also have zero substance in their characters.

The parents of this drama also deserve an article themselves as we have two extremes in Armaan’s mother and Dania’s father. This was a package consisting of bad performances, weak editing and a horrible script, I have still given it a fair chance by watching nearly half of it but that would be it! Goodbye MKHKAK!

Visaal Episode 21 Review – Top Notch Acting & Direction!

Ohkay so, this episode of Visaal was intense & unveiled how far one can go in the state of guilt. Top notch acting & direction has really taken this story to another level & I must say, director’s to-the-point approach in telling the story of this drama has played a massive role in everything being so impactful. In stories & dramas like these, it is very crucial that everything is told precisely & undoubtedly, the director has given it a perfect treatment without dragging anything!

Naheed made up her mind. She knows what she has done to Pari is totally unforgiveable because now Shabbir’s death can also be linked to what Pari went through. Naheed’s jealousy got the better of her & now when she has come back to senses she sees there’s not a single chance of her being forgiven because the pain that Pari endured as a consequence of Naheed’s doing is way too much. Naheed knows that Pari will be fine, she has Jumman Bua by her side & she also knows that after all that she has done, Pari is better off without her. Naheed might have come to terms with her guilt if she had seen Pari’s life shaping up but because it literally got destroyed & she lost everything one after the other, Naheed couldn’t really come out of that guilt. Akram also played a huge role & because Naheed thinks he will ruin Pari’s life, she was forced to come to a final decision!

All the things that Naheed said to Pari clearly indicated what was on her mind. That entire scene was done well & felt genuine. Naheed just wanted to make sure that Pari was alright, she was going to be alright that is why she came to see her – for the last time. I feel with the drama almost nearing the end, I don’t really see any personality in Pari, to an extent that despite knowing she is innocent, a bit too innocent & despite knowing that whatever Naheed is going through or going to go through is because of her own selfishness & jealousy, for a second I felt like Pari was responsible for everything. I know the story hasn’t been written to show that & the prime focus convincingly remains on jealousy & the destruction that it causes, but it’s just that I saw Pari as a culprit for a second. This is just my honest opinion about Pari’s character, may be keeping her a bit too simple & sulky literally took away every ounce of sympathy I once felt for her!

Molvi Ghufran finally found out that Akram faked his identity & lied about his family background right from the beginning. Ghufran still didn’t know how to approach Akram & he was upset but it was good that his friend Sharafat stopped him because he knows that Akram is not someone who will easily confess the truth. Sharafat wants Molvi Ghufran to go about this matter with a bit of tact.

Well well well, Naheed chose to punish herself in the worst way possible & she decided that she was going to put Pari’s life ahead of hers. Naheed knows that she has taken away so much from Pari, therefore she decided that it was now time to pay her back, it was now time to save her life. Even though Naheed had her reasons but if we take a closer look at Akram, though he chose a wrong way to get to Pari, he was always honest about it. He never once exploited Naheed, didn’t even mistreat her, he just wanted to get to Pari & he decided to use the approach that did involve some lying & blackmailing but those were the things that weren’t as grave as the mistakes Naheed committed, so I don’t think Naheed had the right to chose this or any kind of ending for Akram, for that matter. Whatever Naheed was doing was because of her own guilt but she didn’t have the right to poison Akram just so easily to save Pari from him? Quite evil I must say!

I am wondering if Akram will recover & Naheed will eventually die? What do you guys think? I also feel may be in order to punish Akram & take revenge from him Pari might get married to Munna? One thing that Pari would do in the entire drama & that won’t be good either! Anyways, please share your thoughts!

Cheers,

The campaign focused on educating the masses about the world and the country’s plastic problem and how important it is to recycle. The plastic waste collected will be subsequently recycled by Waste Busters. The total number of plastic bottles collected were 2000.

Celebrities Join #BeatPlasticPollution

The celebs encouraged citizens to replace single-use plastic products with reusable alternatives and emphasised on the need to create awareness on hazards of plastics in every day life.

One of the major concerns of plastic waste is how it is putting marine life in grave danger since marine animals ingest plastic. This not only causes internal injuries but toxins are also passed into the food chain consumed by humans.

Every piece of plastic ever made still exists somewhere in the world and we need to play our role individually in protecting the planet from becoming one big plastic waste dump.

Zun Mureed Episode 25 Review – Few Unexpected Developments!

Tonight’s episode opened with the children and Bi Jaan telling Marium and Abid about Rubina’s phone call to a man named Gaami. While Marium refused to listen to them, Abid decided to confront Rubina. When Rubina heard Gaami’s name, she knew she could get in to trouble therefore she decided to go with plan B! Her execution of the plan couldn’t have been more convincing. Once again Sajjad ended up in jail, this time with Abid. The police had also been there earlier when everyone had been drugged therefore it would have been better if these developments were also discussed while Sajjad and Abid were at the police station. However, it seemed like the fact that Sajjad had beaten his wife and his boss also said in an interview that he had anger management issues were the main reasons why Abid couldn’t really plead his case.

Zun Mureed Episode 25 Review - Few Unexpected Developments!

Just like always Sajjad thought that arguing with the policemen and other people was the best solution since he was right! Abid handled the situation wisely and he rightly pointed out that while the Women Protection Bill was meant to protect women who really were victims, there were plenty of women like Rubina out there who used this bill for their own vested interests. I truly appreciate the fact that the writer has been neutral and logical instead of siding with the women in general. She has shown different types of women instead of showing that women are always the victim or that men are the ones who are always wrong. She has also shown a man like Abid who is sensible and can tell right from wrong. The writer’s open-minded and coherent approach makes this script work for me. We have seen many dramas which dealt with domestic abuse in the past too but most often the writers are either bent on making the women victims or fail to do justice to the basic issue.

Zun Mureed Episode 25 Review - Few Unexpected Developments!

Fari finally told Tabbasum about what was going on in Sajjad’s life and that the children were no longer going to school. The flashback scene suggested that Tabbasum was thinking about the problems she will face when she tries to keep her kids with her. I was expecting Tabbasum to reach out to her kids immediately but she took a more practical step and talked to Sidra about moving in with her. Tabbasum knows that she cannot keep her kids with her while she is living with her brother therefore having an independent set up seemed like a step towards the right direction. Sidra’s track took an unexpected turn and I am definitely waiting to see where this track is headed. Nadia Khan’s acting in this scene left a lot to be desired, she needs to tone down the expressions and focus more on her body language as well.

Abid once again explained to Sajjad that he needed Tabbasum’s support now more than ever but it seems like even now Sajjad finds it difficult to “forgive” Tabbasum for arguing with him and for threatening him. I loved Abid’s dialogues tonight because they clearly stated that a man has no right to hit a woman just because she argues with him! I hope that this conversation helped those people who thought that Tabbasum “overreacted” understand the situation! Will Sajjad finally admit that he was wrong? I am waiting to find out!

Faryal Makhdoom Apologizes For Using Racial Slur For Pakistanis

Pakistani-British Boxer Amir Khan and wife Faryal Makhdoom often find themselves making headlines and rarely for the right reasons. This time around Faryal Makhdoom received backlash for using racial slur.

On August 14, Faryal posted a picture of herself on Instagram that she casually captioned “The p*** inside of me”, referring to the racial slur used in the UK to cite Pakistanis. The use of the P-word dates back to the 1960s linked to violence directed to people of South Asian descent.

Her followers were quick to criticize her choice of words which lead the 27 year old to issue an apology and change the caption.

In an Instagram story that has now been deleted, Faryal wrote,

“Huge apologies for any offence caused. As a Pakistani myself, I don’t deem shortening the word offensive, especially as we use it so openly in the UK. However, I totally understand why it can be perceived that way. I didn’t mean any harm whatsoever.”

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 5 Review – Intense!

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh belonged to Muneeb Butt. He definitely deserves a round of applause for such a phenomenal acting. Muneeb Butt has given Umair’s character his all & that is why every single emotion was coming through. While watching this episode I kept on looking forward to Muneeb Butt’s scenes because I couldn’t wait to find out what Umair’s reaction is going to be. It shows that when an actor owns the character, this is how his performance touches the hearts of viewers.

Rabail made it very clear to Nishaal that she was only getting married to Zain because she wanted to go out of Umair’s life. Nishaal tried to convince Rabail & she thought she will be able to bring Rabail to call it quits but she was mistaken. Rabail is not a quitter, also, she is someone who has never had a say in anything related to her life that is why she was not keen on choosing her life partner too. Rabail knows that her uncle & his entire family has done so many favours to her, so she is in no position to go against their wishes. While watching that scene, all I could think of was how superior Rabail was & how petty Nishaal was who only for her selfish reasons was trying to use Rabail. If Nishaal realized that Zain was not going to do anything for her, she should have taken a stand for the sake of her love for him but she continued to invest her time in manipulating people rather than approaching the matter directly because that would’ve yielded some results but that did not happen! Nishal claimed that she fell in love with Zain hard but then she didn’t do anything for him either because even if Zain was bound by the commitment he made to his father, Nishaal was free to present the truth in front of everyone. It is like Nishaal wanted a piece of cake without doing anything for it, well glad she couldn’t have things her way & continued to sulk in the corner with a face full of makeup!

Well, Umair came to Karachi & found out about what Rabail did & that’s when the episode became super interesting for me. Umair’s outburst was realistic & justified because he couldn’t actually believe what he had just seen. The same Rabail who he had trusted all his life was the one shattering it for the rest of it. Umair didn’t even think what his father’s reaction would be that is why he just confessed in front of him too that he loved Rabail with all his heart. Obviously Umair’s father could not even believe what he had just heard because for him Rabail was like a sister to both Umair & Nishaal. It is unfortunate that Nafeesa continues to hold Rabail responsible for whatever is happening -somehow this typical Mami vibe does not go with the actress playing the role of Nafeesa because she is too cool & elegant for it. I laughed when Nishaal supported her mother’s claims, lol, I mean a guy just dumped you because of your pathetic mistake & even bigger ego & there you are holding Rabail responsible for everything, lol – sulk girl sulk!

Well the ending note of this episode was nothing special, it just covered the mental state of both Zain & Rabail where they were just heart broken for different reasons. Zain felt trapped & helpless & Rabail felt burdened thinking about Umair. Rabail thinks she’ll be freed from the love of Umair that made her feel caged but it is unfortunate that she will be walking in another cage where finding a way out won’t be an option. Let’s see!

All the actors definitely are doing a great job but Muneeb Butt stole the show. Really looking forward to the remaining journey of Umair & how he will pick up the pieces. The drama surely has kick-started, let’s hope it doesn’t slow down too much & lose the pace completely. The only thing I found odd was how after receiving a call about best friend’s father’s death, Umair completely forgot about it & saw it as an opportunity to meet Rabail & was too excited & happy about it, because in reality, no one forgets about someone’s death in a couple of seconds – just my observation! Please share your thoughts.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Haara Dil Episode 19 Review — Revelations

So episode 19 was expected to be the episode where the big secret comes out in the open and that is exactly what happened and it was nicely done. The story has reached it’s climax and soon it will be concluded. Episode 19 not only confirmed our prediction that revelations will be seen but also the twist in the end only confirmed the predicted counter attack that Amtul would make.

The episode started on the same high note that the last episode was mostly about. Arham is ecstatic to be married to Momina and he can not hide this ecstasy to the point that he goes to see her first thing in the morning. On his way back he is seen by Fizza and naturally that brings a lot of drama. Amtul sees the couple arguing and she goes straight to Momina because to her Momina is the reason behind all this chaos. We some fiery exchange of words again and this time Abeer speaks up a bit but no harm done.

On the other front Qasid gets caught and Faraz’s mother finally comes into the picture. When Faraz explains his situation to her including the fact that he wants to marry the girl who is the sister of Amtul Afaan’s daughter in law we see that his mother feels uneasy. That could only mean that Faraz’s mother and Amtul have some history and the two don’t like each other much.

Haara Dil Episode 19 Review --- Revelations

Despite her dislike of Amtul Afaan Faraz’s mother agrees to Faraz and Abeer’s marriage. She is as supportive as Faraz had described her to be in previous episodes. On one of her shopping trips she meets Amtul and discloses the secret that Arham married Momina in Afaan’s presence and Faraz was one of the witnesses. There’s no other explanation except that she wanted to hurt Amtul which is why she told her about the marriage, anyway the secret had to come out one way or another and this was as good a way as any.

Naturally Amtul is rattled after this discovery and she takes a rather extreme step by asking Afaan for a divorce. As hinted in the previous episode Amtul is using her relationship with Afaan to manipulate Arham into giving in to her demands. She realizes that neither Momina nor Arham will let their marriage be the reason behind Amtul and Afaan’s separation.

Another noticeable thing was when Momina was talking about her father’s murderer but she didn’t mention his name but later when Amtul was referring to that murderer she mentioned him by his name ‘Qasid’ and Arham noticed that. Whether the fact that Amtul asked Fehmi to kill Momina will eventually come to light or not is still not known but I guess this episode sure hinted in that direction.

Amtul has sure put her son and daughter in law in a difficult position. How this conflict resolves is something we are here to witness so stay tuned.
