Verna is marking the comeback of ace director Shoaib Mansoor after six years. Like always the story is based on a social issue. The film stars Mahira Khan, Haroon Shahid and Zarrar Khan in pivotal roles. The first song of Verna Sambha Sambhal Ke had a light feel to it and now the second song Khushi Ki Baat is out and it looks as intense as the trailer. The song shows the emotions Mahira and Haroon’s character will go through after whatever tragedy they will face. This is sung by Richie Robinson and Zeb Bangash. Here is Khushi Ki Baat:

Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy Termed FB Requests As Harassment!

0

Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy is a famous Pakistani filmmaker who has won academy awards two times for her documentaries. She is very vocal about her opinions on different issues. Recently a Hollywood producer was accused by many A-list actresses of sexual harassment and it started a debate on this topic. People shared their experiences in this regard and supported the actress Ashley Judd who started this debate after coming forward with the allegations against the famous producer. Maybe due to the roaring topi, Sharmeen also took to Twitter after her sister got a friend request from the doctor who treated her at Agha Khan University Hospital. She termed the request as a form of harassment and also said that she will report him.

Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy Termed FB Requests As Harassment!

Many people were put off by her definition of harassment and expressed their views. Ali Moeen Nawazish also wrote a post on this:

Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy Termed FB Requests As Harassment!

Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy Termed FB Requests As Harassment!

After his post, a colleague of the said doctor sent him this message:

Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy Termed FB Requests As Harassment!

The doctor is now fired from the hospital. He has four kids, is jobless and yes an allegation of sexual harassment too on him! Do you think it is right for a celebrity to get a person’ career destroyed due to a friend request? Share your thoughts!

O Rangreza Episode 14 Review – Interesting!

Ohkay so, if we watch this drama as it unfolds without expecting the story to be clear on its purpose, then it surely is enjoyable to watch. Even though the message that the writer is trying to convey has now become a bit too repetitive, I still had a good time watching this episode.

It was interesting to see how Khayyam & Sassi were both struggling to be who they were as they both were falling short of the confidence they had on themselves only because they gave too much power to others to have over them. Sassi & Khayyam’s dispute hasn’t subsided but it has settled for now but it was noteworthy that the father-daughter duo was faced with the similar sort of situation. For the first time Khayyam was unsure of himself because of Sonia & similarly, Sassi was unsure of herself because of Wajih.

I must say, I liked how it was shown that the source which was an inspiration to Khayyam for his writing & the source whose love made Khayyam feel self-assure was now also the reason behind him feeling like a failure. Where Khayyam’s love for Sonia Jahan gave him this confidence, it also shattered his confidence this time around. This was something that I enjoyed watching when I analyzed it. Similarly, even though Sassi’s sudden love for Wajih has no justification at the moment, even she felt like a nobody due to how Wajih was treating her by not accepting her or her feelings.

To be honest, as much as I like Qasim’s character, I felt disapponted even more when I saw him settling for such meaningless life whereas he could’ve done so well for himself if he had chosen to stay out of this messy situation. I don’t get why Qasim had to personally come to be all ears to Sassi & her feelings, because he could’ve listened to her & advised her over letters too. Qasim chose to come back so that he could play the role of Sassi’s chauffeur & settle for a beating from Tipu? Like really? Even though as much as their scenes together are enjoyable, I so wanted to see Qasim doing something to make his presence felt in this family. I totally found Wajih’s question apt where he asked Qasim ‘kya tum sab pagal ho’, even I am finding it hard to take them all seriously too because like Wajih said, they don’t seem normal!

I am still annoyed with Tipu’s character but for the first time I saw the reason why he was a part of the story. Sassi thinks just by supporting Tipu’s love for Meena, she will be able to get the support back when she will need it in regards to her love for Wajih, but I am sure she is gravely mistaken. Sassi is repeating her mistake where she blindly supported Khayyam’s love for Sonia thinking he will let her choose the path that she wanted but that didn’t happen, so I believe she will go through that again when Tipu will refuse to support her. Once again Sassi’s trust will be shattered & once again out of all the people she will have Qasim by her side!

Meena & Mumtaz’s scene was sweet. It was like Meena could see the pain in Mumtaz’s eyes & may be because she herself has seen someone dear to her going through the same experiences, she can not only feel but relate to that pain as well. I think after Qasim, may be Meena will feel for Mumtaz.

So Sassi chose to let Wajih know what she is made of & that riled Wajih up so much that he ended up meeting Khayyam to give him a piece of his mind. Well, this was something that I said in my earlier reviews when Khayyam took Sassi to see Sonia’s shooting that Khayyam Sani is a coward who uses ladies of the family as a sheild. So, Wajih Kamal used the exact same words for Khayyam & what he said was spot on. Khayyam is someone who needs a supportive punching bag by his side every single time, that is why now that Sonia is gone he is being dependant on Mumtaz for his selfish reasons whereas she is being sincere in extending support to her husband!

Anyways, overall this episode was quite interesting & I had a great time watching it. The acting of Sajal Ali is a treat to watch & I love her as Sassi. I am sure no other actor could’ve done a better job at portraying Sassi the way Sajal has done. The preview of the next episode suggested that Tipu will finally unleash his conservative side, though I am not interested in Tipu, I am keen to see Sassi’s reaction. Please share your thoughts about this episode of O Rangreza.

Yaar e Bewafa Episode 17 Review – Flashbacks!

Ohkay so, this episode of Yaar e Bewafa tried to stir some sympathy for a negative character but I am not sure showing it after 16 weeks was a good idea because it is a long time for the viewers to form a definite opinion about a character so not sure why did the writer & director think this was a good idea or if it was going to work!

This episode was all about Saleem & his guilt which surfaced after Zaid had a conversation with him & tried to knock some sense into him & finally it worked but still I wasn’t a fan of all the flashbacks or how good Saleem used to be.

So Amna was an orphan living with her relatives when Saleem’s mother saw her & chose her for her son. It was good to see that Saleem & Amna did have a good marital life when things were working for Saleem, but then again, I want to have an insight into Amna’s character a bit more. Yes, we do get it that just because Saleem did so much for her in the beginning, she is returning it back to him but still I need to know what’s more behind that too good to be true facade.

Saleem got the news that he is terminally ill & no medication, nothing can save him, which further forced him to do something good for his family, even if it meant allowing his son to meet Zaid. I will say I teard up when I saw Saleem put shoes on Omar’s small feet. That child deserves all the happiness in the world & it was good to see Saleem doing at least something for him. Amna’s cluelessness was once again odd, like why couldn’t she put two & two together that after Zaid’s visit, Saleem was behaving differently so Zaid must’ve been the reason behind this change in Saleem?

Zaid & his friend’s conversations about Amna have become a bit too repetitive, it’s like they have nothing else to talk about & even when they do talk about Amna, it is all related to how Zaid is creating troubles for her! Anyways, looks like the story is going to move forward with Saleem’s exit & then it will be all about Zaid convincing Amna to accept his proposal, which I want to see happening. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yaar e Bewafa.

“I Was Obsessed With Acting Since Childhood”, Says Ahad Raza Mir

The latest heartthrob of Pakistani entertainment industry, the boy who has started selling dreams from his very first drama as the male lead, Ahad Raza Mir says acting was not only his passion, but his obsession, to the extent that he would get on stage whenever he saw a remote chance of performing.

"I Was Obsessed With Acting Since Childhood", Says Ahad Raza Mir

Speaking to Nida Yair on her show, Ahad spoke about his aspirations as an actor just beginning to gain footage in the showbiz. He spoke of his gratitude and pleasure at the immense appreciation he has gotten during his first play. His parents had always allowed him to follow his heart’s desires and he knew that his heart was in acting, so it was a pretty straightforward choice for him to join this field.

He expressed his desire to venture into the film industry as well and is ready to learn and practice dancing, singing, romance and everything else required to succeed in there as well.

Speaking of his marriage, the handsome newcomer said that he prefers a beautiful soul rather than merely a pretty face, because the former is the only kind of beauty that lasts. He said he is closer to his mom and whenever he will feel the pull to marry a certain girl, he will be more inclined to share it with his mother than anyone else.

Ahad’s mother, Samrah Asif was also on the show. She said that Ahad is very complacent when it comes to food and appreciates everything that is served to him, and that he is very good in helping around the house and manages the chores including cooking and hoovering very well. She also spoke fondly of the mother son squabbles that she has with Ahad but they do not last very long from either of their side.

From this interview of his and his behaviour with audience, he seemed very genuine and humble and stardom does not seem to have reached his head yet. Hopefully, he will continue to remain himself as he proceeds to give us many more powerful performances to remember.

Team Maula Jatt 2 Accused Of Copyrights Violation

This Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Mahira Khan and Humaima Malik starrer has been the talk of the town ever since it’s pre-production stages, it is making the headlines again but for all the wrong reasons this time.

Bilal Lashari (director) and the entire cast and crew recently received letter from the original producers of the 1979 cult classic Maula Jatt, Bahoo Film Corporation, accusing them of copyrights violation and warning them to stop working on the project or deal with the consequences in the form of legal action.

Team Maula Jatt 2 Accused Of Copyrights Violation

In a recent interview director and producer Muhammad Sarwer Bhatti said that the rights to recreate Maula Jatt were never sold.

Bhatti further said that when he first heard Maula Jatt 2 was Lashari’s next project they were supposed to meet to resolve this matter but before that could happen news outlets announced Lashari getting the copyrights. He also said that the veteran writer of Maula Jatt Nasir Adeeb doesn’t own any rights so he can’t sell them, Bhatti claimed being the producer he has the complete ownership of copyrights.

“This is blatant violation of the copyright law. It is my legacy, my pride. I will do everything to punish him.”

Team Maula Jatt 2 Accused Of Copyrights Violation

We have waited way too long for this project to watch it go down the drain for nothing, I’m going to phoonk some Ayat ul Kursi on Bilal Lashari so he can figure this one out. Fingers crossed till then.

“One woman is raped in Pakistan every two hours” Shoaib Mansoor on “Verna”

Mahira Khan starrer “Verna” is set to release this November the 17th and the director Shoaib Mansoor had the following to say about his film and his take on sexual abuse in his recent facebook post. "One woman is raped in Pakistan every two hours" Shoaib Mansoor on "Verna"

“Rape is one of the most prevalent and ugly forms of crimes against women in Pakistan. Although the women’s movement has tried to grapple with this scourge and worked with the law makers as well as the law enforcing agencies, the mindset of the society remains the biggest challenge that needs to be tackled,”

He further wrote,

“According to Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, one woman is raped in Pakistan every two hours. Globally Pakistan has been ranked third from the bottom as the most dangerous country for women in the world.”

"One woman is raped in Pakistan every two hours" Shoaib Mansoor on "Verna" He went on to write,

“A substantive push is needed to show clearly how rape is used as a tool by powerful in the society to humiliate and invoke fear among the vulnerable. All this happens in the context of patriarchy where the bodies of women have become the battle ground for men to fight their battles of honor, power and revenge.”

He said the following about his Mahira starrer,

“With the thought that a feature film on this sensitive issue can make more impact than years of struggle through smaller interventions on TV or by NGOs, I have made this effort and named it Verna.”

“I have chained all my three films together since all deal with women empowerment… ‘Khuda Kay Liye Bol Verna’. I sincerely hope it will not only spark off the process of shifting people’s patriarchal mindsets but will rejuvenate the movement against this crime,”

"One woman is raped in Pakistan every two hours" Shoaib Mansoor on "Verna"

“Most of all I hope that it will at least make women reflect that rape does not rob them of ‘honor’, it is something they earn and no one can snatch it away from them,”

He further said,

“Things happening around me bother and hence I am forced by my conscience to take them on. My films reflect the anger that I feel on social injustice of all forms. So every time I am about to embark on a film it is my anger that drives my movement of thoughts not the hunger for success and money,”

He concluded his thoughts with the following words:

“It doesn’t mean that I have a thing against films based on pure entertainment. Not at all. By all means they should be made and succeed and I have all the due respect for their makers. I am happy at the recent success of Punjab Nahi Jaungi and Na Maloom Afraad 2 and wish success to all other that are in line to hit the screen. We need these films to rejuvenate the industry in our country. But we also need some to say something thought provoking. I hope I am provoking some thought,”.

Shoaib Mansoor is not just a gem of a film maker but also as amazing a human as one can be, we wish the director huge success and hope that he keeps making this industry and this country a better place.

“Look But With Love” Pakistan’s First Virtual Reality Documentary

Virtual reality (VR) is a computer technology that uses virtual reality headsets, sometimes in combination with physical spaces or multi-projected environments, to generate realistic images, sounds and other sensations that simulate a user’s physical presence in a virtual or imaginary environment. A person using virtual reality equipment is able to “look around” the artificial world, and with high quality VR move around in it and interact with virtual features or items. The effect is commonly created by VR headsets consisting of head-mounted goggles with a screen in front of the eyes, but can also through specially designed spaces with multiple large screens.

"Look But With Love" Pakistan's First Virtual Reality Documentary

Virtual Reality is a medium not just new to us (the audience) but also to the film makers, it is an unknown territory to the world in general and to Pakistani audience in particular, we’ve never had a virtual reality film but here’s Sharmeen Obaid, doing what she does best, blowing our minds away with her virtual reality documentary “Look But With Love”.

Sharmeen Obaid’s first virtual reality documentary was premiered yesterday as part of Karachi Biennale, at Frere Hall. The documentary series has five parts and is based on extraordinary stories of ordinary Pakistani citizens supporting the causes they believe in including a musician trying to preserve the melodies of his forefathers, a social activist campaigning for clean water in Thar, a classical dancer in Lahore conveying her knowledge to future generations, a doctor treating young patients in Karachi and an unstoppable all-women anti-terrorism squad.

"Look But With Love" Pakistan's First Virtual Reality Documentary

This is what Sharmeen had to say about VR,

“It puts you right in the middle of the action,”

One minute you’re wearing that headset and the next you’re standing in Thar or with a teacher in Lahore teaching her disciples or you’re transported to a hospital in Karachi. The impact such movies have on the viewers is unparalleled to any other cinematic experience. The illusion that you’re in the middle of all the action tells you why there’s the word “reality” in this technology’s name. Sharmeen further added:

“It has two purposes: firstly, to show us Pakistanis a different side of Pakistan and secondly, to the international community who’s always wondering what’s it like to be in Pakistan, we put them front and centre.”

"Look But With Love" Pakistan's First Virtual Reality Documentary

When asked in a recent interview whether the medium is more important to her or the story she had the following to say:

“I’m a storyteller, and I’m looking to take the stories and translate them into different mediums. For me, it was about how do we use technology to make films feel immediate, to make you feel like you’re walking in the footsteps of women who’re treading miles to collect water or in a shrine surrounded by musicians who are playing their instrument.”

She continued:

“The rules of virtual reality have not been written, as we’re the first generation of VR film-makers. So, let’s play with technology. You can’t explore a world by just staring at something and VR allows you to be there and feel the surroundings, acclimatise yourself. So, my film-making has to change with the medium. But at the end of the day, it’s a story. So, you walk away with learning about the story.”

We wish team Sharmeen best of luck one more time and hope that this is the beginning of a whole new cinematic universe for Pakistani audience.

Teri Raza Episode 17 Review – Ridiculous!

Ohkay so, things finally moved forward & a toxic relationship came to an end in tonight’s episode but before that, quite a few things happened which suggested that the writer was once again trying to turn Suhana into a victim, which made me roll my eyes!

Imtiyaz made a final decision & that too for the love that he had for Suhana because he couldn’t see her unhappy. Imtiyaz actually proved how much he loved Suhana by letting her go as he could feel that she was not happy with this relationship, which was quite a selfless gesture.

Rameez continued to be careless & immature & I just can not believe that after being married to a man like Imtiyaz, Suhana will settle for a loser like Rameez. I just don’t get what the writer here is trying to promote? That Istikharas can be unreliable too? That despite following Istikhara & knowing that there’s only benefit in this decision, one can still choose to remain unhappy? I just don’t get what the writer had in her mind or may be she herself was unclear about what she wanted to convey. Suhana told Imtiyaz that she got married to him because it was Allah’s Raza but then she continued to meet Rameez because it was her Raza, so is the writer trying to convey that one should focus more on their own raza & completely ignore Allah’s raza? How twisted & disgusting is that!?! It is like Suhana chose Allah’s Raza but did everything to get what she wanted by literally ruining someone’s life? Like she made sure to get things according to her Raza by hook or by crook, then why all the drama of following the Istikhara to avoid Badshaguni in the first place? The writer should have revisited the idea behind this script before penning it down because it is ridiculous, disgusting & misleading. The writer is promoting it shamelessly that it is alright to ignore what Allah plans for you & you can continue to do what you want despite knowing that it ain’t good for you. This drama promotes a sick idea of chasing behind a disgusting love affair by putting everything at stake which is sickening!

The writer tried to turn Suhana into a victim by showing that despite not wanting to, she was trying to take interest in Imtiyaz & was trying to do everything to save this marriage? Like seriously, this sudden change in Suhana’s behavior was totally unconvincing & out of the blue!

Imtiyaz finally bid farwell to Suhana & like a puppet she followed his orders, again the writer’s attempt to show how submissive & masoom Suhana was that she followed Imtiyaz’s order. Anyways, the coverage that Zafar, Talat & Dadi are getting is annoying. That Orange juice recipe of Daadi for a second made me think that I was watching a program at ARY Zouk, because it was so forced & a filler. Also, when Suhana came, Talat gave her a piece of her mind but in the next scene she lost her mind & went into a trance, like seriously? Does the writer actually believe that we will have any sympathy towards a habitual howler i-e. Talat? LOL! Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Teri Raza.

Baaghi Episode 14 Review – No Creativity Whatsoever!

This was yet another episode of Baaghi which was dedicated mostly to Kanwal Baloch planning a bright future ahead completely ignoring the fact that a loud personality alone does not guarantee that! The way the makers of the drama have relied solely on Kanwal Baloch’s weird personality which isn’t just annoying but also quite boring makes this drama a pain to watch! Tonight’s episode was even worse than the previous one because the entire episode focused on a single incident! Just like always, I found it really difficult to feel for Kanwal while she shopped for her “big step forward” and planned in advance. These scenes were stretched and can easily be termed as useless filler scenes. Surely, Kanwal has no talent therefore being over-confident alone wasn’t going to bag her a seat in this contest! A woman like her who had the guts to come this far would surely know better. Somehow I have a really tough time believing that whatever Qandeel did on the show wasn’t a publicity stunt but that was just who she was!

I am also surprised that while the makers of the drama have put in their best effort to make Saba Qamar look like Qandeel Baloch and even say the same lines as her, they didn’t put in enough effort to breathe more life into the character. Why exactly should the viewers be interested in Kanwal’s journey? What has the writer done to highlight different shades of Kanwal’s personality? The previous episode covered the desi kuryan scenario and this one covered Pakistan Idol one and in both these situations Kanwal was shown as someone who was simply being herself and nothing she did was a way to get attention from the public. Unless someone her age and exposure had some kind of a disorder, she couldn’t possibly have been as naive as she has been shown in the drama. I feel that the writer is questioning the viewers’ intelligence on so many levels! The director Farooq Rind also tends to go overboard with many scenarios, he did so in Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei and he has done it again in Baaghi.

Baaghi Episode 14 Review - No Creativity Whatsoever!

Saba Qamar and the entire team of Baaghi made some really tall claims before this drama aired but the fact of the matter is that Baaghi is an ill-conceived drama. The writer and the director failed to give their leading lady a definite personality and are relying heavily on her “innocence” as well as her weirdness and I am wondering why that is supposed to be appealing! Qandeel Baloch’s eccentric behaviour always got her the kind of attention she wanted and now the makers of the drama are also making the most of that aspect of her personality although they promised something entirely different. Those chapters of Qandeel’s life which everyone has seen online a million times are being replicated on screen while those parts of her life which were hidden and actually needed to be highlighted haven’t been covered in detail.

Overall, this was the kind of episode which puts you to sleep! By the end of it Kanwal Baloch decided to go back to Gohar – no surprises there!! And in the next episode Kanwal will resort to shortcuts to get attention from people and it will work like a charm! Obviously a person who has no talent at all would have to resort to such means to gain popularity! Baaghi’s script is all over the place therefore it is really difficult to connect to any of the characters at this point. It is going further downhill with every passing episode.

Here is a clip of Qandeel Baloch’s actual audition in Pakistan Idol which basically shows that the makers of the drama replicated this particular situation but failed to do proper research in areas which truly mattered!

Fawad Khan To Work In Hollywood?

Fawad Khan has a massive fan following in Pakistan. He was a part of some very memorable projects with Humsafar giving him the success he enjoys today. Later Fawad moved to Bollywood and did films like Khoobsurat, Kapoor and Sons and a cameo in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Fawad has not been seen in any Pakistani project for a long time now except his appearance at Pepsi Battle Of The Bands as a judge.

Fawad Khan To Work In Hollywood?

The news is Fawad will be making his debut in Hollywood soon. According to a column written by Indian film critic Rajeev Masand, Fawad is not happy with the kinds of film offers he is getting in Pakistan and since Pakistani actors are banned to work in India, the actor has signed with an agent in Hollywood. He further added that Fawad will be moving to Los Angeles as soon as he signs a film and he is in the process of reading scripts. According to Masand, Fwad has told his friends in India that doing dramas is not a challenge anymore for Fawad so he will move to LA when he gets a project there.

Fawad has not commented yet whether we will see him in Hollywood soon or not. His film with Bilal Lashari, Maula Jutt 2 will be released soon though. Are you excited for Fawad going to Hollywood or you want to see him work more in Pakistan? Share your thoughts in comments!

Mubarak Ho Beti Hui Hai Episodes 33&34 Review – Nature Vs Nurture

The problem with plays that have a very long storyline is that they start to contradict themselves in the middle, storylines go wayward, characters lose their appeal and everything becomes a little confusing. The same is happening here now. What could have been a pretty straightforward tale of a single mother raising her daughters in a gender biased society has taken many dimensions now, some quite far from the original idea. While its good to see a little unpredictability and suspense, what is happening here is twisting the story away from its original theme which was quite beautiful on its own.

The funniest part of the episodes was Anum’s behaviour. If she was cordial and nice to Fehmida, I think that would have been quite reasonable and enough. But to go all out of the way to stand up for the rights of a woman whose husband you married willingly and lovingly has befuddled me. Why would she change Fehmida’s outlook and personality so Jawad can appreciate her? If she wanted Jawad to stick with his first wife, she could easily have listened to her mom and refused Jawad, but she was obsessed and madly in love with him at that time. A few hours into the marriage, she has shifted her obsession and and love onto Fehmida, even to the extent of refusing to go to the movies or shopping or dinner with him unless his first wife accompanies them. While its very unrealistic and odd, but I could not control my laughter at Jawad’s plight. If every second wife starts acting like Anum, very soon married men would think one hundred times before proposing to a pretty colleague, by cribbing about their first wives.

Regarding Anila, she was always this selfish, but her disappearance served Sadiq well too. There was a lot of suffering on the men’s side in this episode. Sajid Hassan was again phenomenal in this episode. Despite knowing that he has brought on his own fate, it was hard not to sympathise with his portrayal of a broken man, who while having two wives, four biological children and two step children has essentially no one who cares about him at all. Anila had once snatched material things from Naheed, paying no heed to morals and that is what she did again. For financial gain, it was very easy for her to decide to leave her aged husband and ailing child.

Sadiq also got to know about the cake Amber kept on sending him. While it was a totally pointless gesture, done purely out of vengeance, it was still sad to see that how bad parenting and wrong priorities of father had played havoc with a little girl’s senses and attitudes. Amber finally confessed to Naheed all that she had in mind and all that she had achieved by marrying Ahsan, which ofcourse was overheard by Ahsan as the door was very conveniently left open. He was naturally heartbroken and oblivious to the last part of conversation where Amber expressed her guilt at doing all this. This episode only showed his anger and avoidance of Amber, so maybe next time we will get to know better how he is going to handle this ultimate betrayal by a wife he had so loved and trusted.

Iqra’s story is still stagnant but it is good that she is working and carrying on with with her life, though Naheed has started looking for a suitable husband for her. When Naheed told Fareeha and Shehzad that she has no intention of hiding Iqra’s previous marriage and subsequent divorce from any prospective suitors, Fareeha went totally against it and prompted her to lie. I am sure if Naheed had shown her intention to be otherwise, Fareeha would be the first one to announce of that unfortunate incident of Iqra’s life. She is such a vile woman.

Sajid Hassan, Saboor Ali, Saima Noor and the boy playing Ahsan were all fabulous today. They nailed their characters, even thugh the story is losing common sense a little bit. One thing is for certain though, that neither Anum nor Amber learnt Naheed’s endearing habit of minding her own business. They are both extremely nosy and have no sense of personal or private boundaries whatsoever. They plunge head on to take control of situations and manipulate them according to how they deem right, which is so different from the quiet dignity with which Naheed carried herself all her life..maybe nature does overcome nurture in a lot of instances.

Stay tuned to see how the drama wraps up..

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 28 Review – Epic!

Ohkay so, another week, another epic episode of Yakeen Ka Safar. Even though so much happened in this episode & every single character had something going on for them, I felt like I wanted to see more & this episode shouldn’t have ended. The best part in this episode was how it was shown that all the characters learnt from their past mistakes & now they were afraid to repeat those mistakes. The transition that everyone went through was the highlight of this episode for me & I can’t wait to see more.

So, Khajista’s case resurfaced the regret that Asfand & even Usman had for not supporting Daniyal. Asfand worded it perfectly, even though they were dealing with different people, the case was exactly the same where a weak & harmless girl was forced to put up with abuse. At first, I thought that it was Zubiya who changed Asfand’s thinking because when Khajista first came to their hospital, Asfand only treated her as a patient without getting emotionally involved in her case, so I thought may be because Asfand knew what Khajista meant to Zubiya, he decided to fight for her this time, but it wasn’t only because of her. I loved the message that Farhat Ishtiyaq has imparted through this story that in stead of letting your fears get the better of you, you should fight them & no matter what has happened in your past, you shouldn’t let it cloud your judgment for the rest of your life. Usman & Asfand both knew how Daniyal was trying hard to fight that battle singlehandedly & they didn’t support him but now, they learnt from their mistakes & realized it was important for them to help the weak, something that Daniyal was trying to do. Even though Zubiya has also played a part in changing Asfand’s perspective by showing him that it is perfectly alright to treat patients as a family & to feel their pain by getting emotionally involved, but Daniyal was the main driving force which compelled Asfand to bring that change in himself, in his father & in Khajista’s life. Even though Daniyal is no more but his principles, his values & his battle have taught a lifelong lesson to his family. This was the best part of tonight’s episode for me!

All this while I thought Bahadur was just someone who had no control over his emotions & he was deprived of analytical thinking, but the way he bruised Khan’s ego by comparing him with Asfand & telling him about his popularity, in order to save himself showed that he was quite a manipulator & knew exactly how to save himself in grave circumstances!

Another thing I noticed was how Usman received Khan’s phone call. It was the same Usman who got scared when he received Rab Nawaz’s phone call & had no courage to give it back to him, but this time around, Usman banged the phone on Khan’s face, which showed that he was not scared anymore & that he was ready to fight the battle alongside Asfand as he finally understood this is what Daniyal was trying to do, he has realized that fighting for the right is not going to be easy but all he has to do is be courageous & focused to get the weak some justice for all that she went through. I must say even though the conversation that Usman had with Khajista was perfect, like the essence of it was conveyed perfectly where he was trying to tell her that she had to stand up for herself, I felt that it could’ve been worded a bit better, somehow the dialogues were a bit too dramatic yet plain, if that makes sense, but yes, better wording would’ve made an even bigger impact!

So, Rehan finally realized his mistake, obviously it was a slow process, he started feeling guilty but now the burden was getting overbearing that is why he didn’t even wait for the appropriate time & ended up calling Mahjabeen. In order to prove that he really was eager to meet Zubiya, Rehan decided to show up at Mahjabeen’s doorstep because he knew that there was no way she was going to trust him by giving him Zubiya’s information on the phone. Rehan actually has realized how he wronged Zubiya & he seriously wants to make amends. Even though I am sure Zubiya will forgive Rehan, but I am keen to see her reaction.

Dr. Haroon’s proposal to Gaiti was yet another highlight of this episode. Haroon got to share everything that he had in his heart for Gaiti & that somehow moved her a bit. Like Gaiti said, all this while she saw him as a non-serious person who wasn’t sensitive enough to understand what Gaiti’s mind set was but just by telling Gaiti that he himself has gone through the same pain, he himself has experienced what it is like to lose a life partner, he moved her emotionally – those tears & that sympathy on Gaiti’s face said it all!

So, Khan got to see Asfand’s popularity & he realized that it won’t be easy harming him because it would not only put Khan in the spotlight, he could also lose his power, his position because the localites genuinely & sincerely respected Dr. Asfand Yar. Bahadur got arrested & Khan decided to leave the country, showing that he already gave up as he understood that he won’t be able to get away if he touched Dr. Asfand.

I loved the last scene of this episode as well. I loved how it was directed like all the emotions were conveyed beautifully. Asfand sat there & even though he is going through so much, he still had Zubiya on his mind, it shows how much he loves her because while still being pre-occupied, he was thinking of Zubiya only to be reminded of the fact that he was the witness of the worst moment that came into Zubiya’s life. I loved how that entire scene was tied in a sense that there Asfand was, thinking about Zubiya & the next moment, he found out something about her that shook him to no end. Will Asfand feel burdened by Zubiya’s past mistake or will he now understand the reason behind Zubiya’s rejection? Can’t wait to see!

This episode was simply perfect. Even though all the supporting characters got so much of coverage but every single scene, every single scenario was important. All the characters have a major contribution in the story & that is why they make it complete. I must say Hira looked absolutely gorgeous & very graceful in the proposal scene. Also, there was a scene in which all three men; Usman, Dr. Shehroz & Dr. Asfand were in specs, well let’s just say they took specs to a whole new level, lol, very graceful & charming I must say. The preview of the next episode was interesting as well but I’d rather not discuss it, as it will take away the charm of what is yet to come & will request the readers to keep the discussions related to this episode only. Please share your thoughts about this epic episode of Yakeen Ka Safar!

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,

Ahad And Sajal Will Be Seen Together Again!

Ahad and Sajal as Dr. Asfandyar and Dr. Zubiya are currently the most loved couple on screen. Yaqeen Ka Safar is just about to end and fans were a bit disappointed that their favourite couple will not be seen together now. But the good news is both the actors will be working together again in a new play at HUM TV. The drama is named as Aangan.

Ahad And Sajal Will Be Seen Together Again!

It was confirmed earlier that Ahsan Khan and Mawra Hocane will be playing the lead roles in Aangan which is supposed to be a period play somewhat like Daastan. And now these two phenomenal actors will be joining the cast too. Aangan is coming from the team which gave the viewers Udaari with production by Momina Duraid and direction by Ehteshamuddin.

This is indeed a great news for the fans of Yaqeen Ka Safar and we all are expecting big things from Aangan. Are you excited to see them both working together again and what are your thoughts about the remaining team? Share in the comments section below!

Daniel Ends His Career With “Phantom Thread”

There are mediocre actors, there are good actors, there are method actors and then there’s Daniel Day Lewis who is the method himself. When it comes to acting the world rarely gets to experience an actor as amazing as Daniel friggin’ Day so naturally when he announced his retirement earlier this year in June the world was heart broken to say the least.

Daniel Ends His Career With "Phantom Thread"

Daniel is known for keeping his life private and staying away from the limelight, when he is acting he immerses himself completely in the role and that has it’s perils, so the actor followed his intuition and decided to end his career. Daniel will be bidding farewell to Hollywood with Reynolds Woodcock’s biopic set in 1950’s titled “Phantom Thread”.

Daniel Ends His Career With "Phantom Thread"

Set in the glamour of 1950’s post-war London, renowned dressmaker Reynolds Woodcock (Daniel Day-Lewis) and his sister Cyril (Lesley Manville) are at the center of British fashion, dressing royalty, movie stars, heiresses, socialites, debutantes and dames with the distinct style of The House of Woodcock. Women come and go through Woodcock’s life, providing the confirmed bachelor with inspiration and companionship, until he comes across a young, strong-willed woman, Alma (Vicky Krieps), who soon becomes a fixture in his life as his muse and lover. Once controlled and planned, he finds his carefully tailored life disrupted by love. With his latest film, Paul Thomas Anderson paints an illuminating portrait both of an artist on a creative journey, and the women who keep his world running.

Phantom Thread is Daniel’s second collaboration with director Paul Thomas Anderson the first being There Will Be Blood. Anderson also has movies like The Master, Inherent Vice and Magnolia to his credits so all we can expect from these two men is greatness.

As much as we await this movie we also know that we won’t be seeing Daniel on the big screen ever again, talk about being “happy sad”.

“I learnt the guitar for a good five months” Bilal Ashraf on “Rangreza”

Bilal Ashraf made his acting debut in Operation 021 as a supporting actor but soon got his first lead role in last year’s Janaan, though he couldn’t impress the critiques but the public lauded this lad’s performance. Bilal managed to get a thumbs up from critiques after his amazing performance in Yalghaar. This gorgeous actor is all set to amaze us again in his upcoming film “Rangreza” releasing December 21st.

"I learnt the guitar for a good five months" Bilal Ashraf on "Rangreza"

In the recent trailer Bilal is seen as a rockstar so when asked of what he had to go through to ace this role the actor had the following to say:

“I have put my heart and soul into the film. Even though it was really difficult playing a musician, I was convinced I could do it. I hope the audience like my attempt.”

"I learnt the guitar for a good five months" Bilal Ashraf on "Rangreza"

He was further asked if he had any previous music knowledge to which he had the following answer.

“I learnt the guitar for a good five months and took a lot of training, especially for this movie. It’s been a lot of hard work.”

Though a lot can be figured out about the story line of the movie by the trailer but Bilal shared some insight too.

“The film is a musical journey, and it portrays all the emotions – drama, love and romance, all come together to form a unique story. There’s also a lot of anger portrayed through Gohar’s character, which you can see in the trailer.”

"I learnt the guitar for a good five months" Bilal Ashraf on "Rangreza"

We sincerely hope all the hard work that Bilal and team Rangreza put into this film is paid off and the film takes the box office by storm.

“Aangan is not one of those average plays”—Ahsan Khan

“Aangan” is a drama serial set in the pre-partition era and is directed by Ehteshamuddin while it is based on a script by Mustafa Afridi produced by MD Productions, so far Ahsan Khan and Mawra Hocane have been disclosed to lead the show.

Ahsan Khan has recently swoon not only the audience but also the industry folks with his mesmerizing performance as the pedophile “Paa Imtiaz” in Udaari. After Udaari in 2016 Ahsan has worked in two feature films Chupan Chupai and Rehbra while he has just started working on this new play named Aangan which is already on our radar of most awaited shows.

"Aangan is not one of those average plays"---Ahsan Khan

The show is in it’s production stages so the actor couldn’t say much about it albeit when asked of Aangan Ahsan had the following to add in his recent interview:

“It’s set around the time of partition, but it doesn’t deal with any social issue in particular. It’s more about people in that era. Aangan is about family and relationships.”

Ahsan also added that the main reason behind accepting this project was Ehteshamuddin, it is third collaboration between the actor and Ehstesham their previous two projects being Udaari and Preet Na Kariyo Koi, another motivation was MD Productions because they never disappoint with their choice of scripts and ideas.

“Aangan is not one of those average plays. What attracted me to come onboard was its flavour. I just run away from run-of-the-mill content, you see. I always want to do something which has not been seen or done anywhere before.”

"Aangan is not one of those average plays"---Ahsan Khan

Ahsan Khan actually has high hopes for the play and said that this show will do for our industry what Udaari did. He continued saying the following:

“Our plays get appreciated only because they have their own style. They don’t mimic anything or anyone. Similarly, Aangan is going to make people proud of our industry. It’s a play with good entertainment and it’s well made.” But more than that, the biggest reason to watch Aangan is that “It is a play that you could put in a library. It’s something to be preserved, such as classics like Daastan and Ankahi.”

I can’t speak for you guys but I am definitely boarding the hype train, we wish team Aangan all the best and anxiously await to be swooned over one more time.

Alif Allah Aur Insaan Episode 27 Review – Ridiculous!!

What a ridiculous episode of Alif Allah Aur Insaan. Seriously, this drama has come to a stage where every episode is basically a filler because the story is not moving forward & is only losing its purpose. There was a time when even the backdrops & sets were aesthetically appeasing but now it looks like they have made a few rooms of ply wood, have threw in odd colors & are using those cubicles as their sets. The discomfort & lack of interest on the faces of all the actors who were a part of the original script is just so evident. Congratulations producers, you have succeeded in ruining a perfect drama!

Nawazish didn’t want a child & he left Reena with no choice than to leave him & move on. Yes, it is understandable that Reena is now depending a lot on Shammo because she knows he is her well wisher but to literally scurry to him in odd hours makes no sense. Also, as far as we knew, no matter how dire the circumstances were, Reena always listened to her heart so not sure why she is seeking advice from Shammo for every single thing. When Reena knew she wanted to keep the baby, then why did she stand up for herself after Shammo told her to? The way Shammo got a beating that too in high speed was absolutely hilarious, even the first few seconds of Reena’s car ride were in high speed too. I am sure just like all of us viewers, even the editors of this drama must be dozing off because it has become just so boring!

In the last episode & by the end of it like in the precap of this episode, they showed that Malkiyani sent a few goons to look for Basit & it was also shown that she showed up with those goons asking for Nazneen but that entire scenario was missing from this episode? Seriously, are they even realizing how ridiculous this drama has become? Hashmat came back from USA & he had no idea that Nazneen got divorced? Seriously? How is that even possible? Shahzeb was Suhail’s best friend so are they telling us that Shahzeb never told Suhail or anyone about his divorce at all? Ridiculous!

The most pathetic scenario of this drama is this fake, forced & faltu love triangle of Chimpu Arsalan, Gandasa Movie Hero Shaheer & Trying-Hard-To-Be-Cool-But-Failing-Miserably Zimal. Everything from their scenes to their dialogues to their acting to their situations, every single thing about them is absolutely wrong! Also, they keep on telling how rich Shaheer is, if so, then why does he wear the same Shalwar Kameez to his university that he wears at home? LOL! Anyways, I just don’t get it, does Zimal go to the university to sport a forlorn face in front of the guys to seek sympathy, because when she is at home, she seems perfectly alright & behaves normally as well. May be this is her tact of seeking attention from guys, irrespective of how weird they are!

This drama has been ruined completely & there is nothing, absolutely nothing about the old or the new characters that is interesting anymore. There was a time when everything seemed to have a purpose in this story but not anymore. It is saddening to see that even the acting of all the actors is so poor. Imran Ashraf who was in his element seemed so awkward for some reason in this episode, it was like he acted normally then all of a sudden realized that Shammo was a little different than he started behaving a certain way. Reena’s ordeals & the curls in her hair weren’t in harmony with each other, goes to show that the director even the actors have stopped paying attention to the personality that their characters are supposed to have. Highly disappointed! Also, in the next episode Basit & Nazneen will be getting married, so are they showing that Nazneen didn’t even observe her Iddat? Hmmm! Anyways, please share your disappointment over this episode & feel free to vent out!

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,

Mujhe Jeenay Du Episode 7 Review – Outstanding!

This serial just keeps on getting better with every passing episode. Mujhe Jeenay Du has plenty of tracks which are interrelated and the variety of characters shows that the writer did not rely on clichés. So far, there has been absolutely no repetition and the story is getting more interesting. The writer and the director’s focused approach till now makes this drama one of the best drama serials of this season although it is not getting the attention it deserves but it definitely fits the bill. Mehreen Raheal completely stole the show tonight although the competition was fierce since this drama has some really solid performances to its credit. Naseeb and Shaheena’s interactions were the highlight of this episode. Naseeb needed a woman like Shaheena in his life and Shaheena also deserved better. Their scenes together do suggest that these two might have a future together after all but the question is how, since the situation is so complicated.

The focus of the story has moved from Saira to Shaheena and Naseeb in particular while Yasmin’s track also got plenty of screen time in tonight’s episode. Yasmin’s reaction when her son broke the news of her husband’s second marriage to her came as a complete surprise but it was completely in line with her character. She obviously did not know about this already and she was heart broken as well but she was not going to let Shabo ruin his future. It is always refreshing watching a play with women who are strong in their own way. Yasmin lives a meaningful life and she is strong enough to handle anything that comes her way therefore right now the change in Shaheena has to be the most pleasant development in this episode. There was a time when Shaheena couldn’t even think about leaving her husband but tonight she vowed not to forgive him and was scared that he might come back. Working in Naseeb’s house makes her feel useful and she also likes the appreciation she gets from Naseeb since Muhammadu never appreciated her. Goher Rasheed and Mehreen Raheal’s scenes together were a treat to watch. Goher Rasheed makes Naseeb’s character more likeable.

Mujhe Jeenay Du Episode 7 Review - Outstanding!

Another cliché which the writer avoided in this serial has to be the behavior of the second wife in this entire scenario. Instead of getting insecure she told her husband to go and talk to Yasmin although her advise fell on deaf ears since he never apologized but even then it is good to see that for a change the writer has not promoted the cliché that women are women’s worst enemies! Most often in our dramas we are shown men who get brainwashed by their wives or mothers so at the end of the day it is some woman who is responsible for their actions. In this drama for a change, the female characters are helping each other and don’t see each other as competition or as enemies! I think this precedent was set by drama serial Udaari and it is good to see another drama following that example. Even though Shabo’s stepmother tried her best to win him over but he loves his mother dearly and will never allow another woman to take her place. Shabo’s feelings were shown brilliantly in tonight’s episode.

You can’t help but feel for Saira’s character every time a new episode of this drama goes on air. Saira’s incapability to deal with the situation and the manner in which she keeps on reminding her “husband” that she cannot come up to his expectations because she is too young, is so touching. Once again the child star playing Saira and Ali Murad in particular gave exceptional performances. Ali Murad is such a fine actor, he nails every single role he plays. Iffat Omer is another actress who always performs brilliantly, looking forward to seeing more of her.

I highly recommend this show to anyone who is not following it. How many of you watched tonight’s episode? Do share your thoughts about it.

”Women Have To Fight For Their Rights In This Country”, Says Meera

Meera has always been in the news for a number of reasons, some right and some not so right, but there is no denying the actress’s popularity in Pakistan. However, she is not very happy with the way this country treats its female citizens. She recently spoke to Samaa News Channel outside the courtroom as she faces charges registered against her by her self proclaimed ex husband. Her case was not decided today but she is hopeful she will get rid of the allegations one of these days.

Teasers Of Geo’s “Aik Thi Rania”

Sumbul Iqbal and Syed Jibran have paired together to star in Geo’s upcoming play aik thi rania. It is going on air very soon as the teasers have been released now. Jibran is in quite a modern guy in bomber jackets and frayed hems.

He seems to have loved and lost and that makes him regretful of the choices he has made. Its soundrack is beautiful and captures you in the moment.

Sumbul the other hand looks like a simple girl, who keeps on appearing in the hero’s dreams. Her charm seems to have made him fall heed over heels for her.

Rangreza’s Official Trailer Is Here

This Bilal Ashraf, Urwa Hocane and Gohar Rasheed starrer has been making the headlines off and on but the much awaited trailer is finally here.

Rangreza's Official Trailer Is Here

The trailer presents Bilal as a top notch singer who falls for Urwa probably because of how different they both are and Gohar continues to be the baddie. Rangreza has all the ingredients of a drama movie from a love triangle to a crazy antagonist, press, hysterical parents, love songs and tragic death (probably murder). What could go wrong, right?

Enjoy the trailer and do let us know how you liked it?

Tau Dil Ka Kya Hua Episode 15 Review – Brilliant As Usual!!!

Like every other episode of Tau Dil Ka Kya Hua, this one too was a visual treat right from the get-go. Although the situations in this drama are completely bizarre at the moment and it is almost as if all these characters are letting their ego get the best of them but even then the treatment given to this drama is so brilliant that you enjoy watching every single scene and can’t help but look forward to finding out what exactly is going on in everyone’s mind. Khalil-ur-Rehman’s writing style is such that he keeps the viewers wondering about the actual feelings of the characters and he makes it really difficult for the viewers to guess whether a character is taking revenge or he or she actually is in love. The fact that it didn’t take Faris a lot of time to “get over” Dariya as he started pursuing Zoya immediately after she left, went to show that indeed Dariya really did know Faris better than anyone else. Dariya’s character has always been my favorite and the reasons she gave for not staying for longer made me like her character even more. Dariya did not want to wait for the day when Faris would fall in love with her because she knew that such a day will never come therefore even Siraj uncle’s “threats” did not work when he tried to stop her. Now that Dariya is out of the picture, it seems like Faris wants Zoya to share his emotional burden with him.

Since Zoya’s parents told her why Maya disliked her so much therefore it could be another reason why all of a sudden Zoya is actually considering this proposal. This had to be the most bizarre situation I have ever seen in a Pakistani drama yet it has been translated on screen so well that it intrigues you more than it creeps you out (for obvious reasons). The credit for this goes entirely to the director and all the actors involved. This script could have been a complete disaster in the hands of a director who didn’t understand it so well. Everything has been written so boldly that it needed to be underplayed on screen otherwise it would have appeared to be over-dramatic and annoying.

Tau Dil Ka Kya Hua Episode 15 Review - Brilliant As Usual!!!

The turn Tipu’s character took had to be the most shocking of all developments in tonight’s episode. The manner in which Tipu and Maya’s meeting was covered was absolutely faultless. Imran Ashraf and Ayeza Khan’s impressive performances coupled with those witty dialogues made this one of the best scenes of this episode. Maya clearly looks down upon Tipu, she thinks he is beneath her – her expressions said it all – yet she was willing to strike this deal with him. I am wondering how a woman like her who has such a big ego can do so much to go back to Faris. I feel that the main motivation right now isn’t just love but also the fact that Faris and Zoya might get married if she doesn’t take an extreme step to pave way for another nikkah.

Sami Khan’s performance in this play has been faultless throughout, he looks great, has acted brilliantly and has made Faris’ character likeable even though the character itself doesn’t always have a lot going for him! Rehan Sheikh is another actor who always does complete justice to every role he plays. Saif was completely missing from this episode and I must say that I didn’t miss him one bit! In fact this episode was one of the best episodes of Tau Dil Ka Kya Hua because the focus was entirely on Faris, Zoya and Maya.

Shahid Shafat definitely deserves an award for making this difficult script come to life on screen in such a way that you are forced to give each episode your undivided attention. Beautiful visuals, phenomenal performances, powerful dialogues, impressive makeovers and creative direction make this drama an artistic piece of work! Loved watching this drama for 15 weeks and looking forward to how the story unfolds from here on.

Syra And Asim Clash Over Rehearsals

Hum Awards powered by Q mobile dazzled Karachi last night, from all sorts of style statements we saw on the red carpet to aesthetic performances it was wowzah. That wowzah level of entertainment looks so effortless on the T.V screen but it really isn’t. Celebrities go through arduous rehearsal sessions just to make that annual event a night to remember.

On one such arduous session when both Asim Azhar and Syra Shehroz were totally exhausted both physically and mentally they had a minor trifle.

Syra And Asim Clash Over Rehearsals

The argument started when Asim had been waiting for twenty minutes for his rehearsal to start since the management had given him that time but the choreographer was still busy practicing with Syra.

Syra And Asim Clash Over Rehearsals

Everyone started persuading Asim and requested him to wait a little bit more and meanwhile have a cup of tea or something. To which Asim said that they should’ve told him they weren’t free when Asim had contacted them earlier to confirm the timings to which the choreographers were apologetic. Asim insisted that he has no free dates in the future so he must rehearse today he also said he’d contact the management and let them know what’s happening down here to which Syra said “You really don’t need to throw a fit over this” Asim countered this with “I’m really not throwing a fit” after which Syra walked out.

We’re hoping they resolved this issue right there and then prolonging such mundane arguments gets no one no where.

Gohar Rasheed Talks About Rejecting “Neerja”

Gohar Rasheed is a Pakistani actor mostly known for his work in drama serials like “Digest Writer” and “Mann Mayal”. The actor has also worked in movies like 021, Yalghaar and is currently coming up with yet another feature film Rangreza.

Gohar Rasheed Talks About Rejecting "Neerja"

In a recent interview Gohar talked about his journey so far, the actor revealed that his father wasn’t exactly ecstatic about him joining the entertainment industry and was pretty sure Gohar would fail and return home in a few months but God works in mysterious ways and from Karachi’s theater scene Gohar ended up straight in the Best Actor nominees at the New York Film Festival for his movie Seedlings. Since then Gohar Rasheed has become a household name.

In his interview Gohar talked about his faith in God and fate, that one can try his best and leave the rest to God, he also added that tho our nation in general is racist and prefers “fair skin” anyone, no matter how gorgeous, can’t and will not survive without craft and skill. The actor said that he loves playing “the baddie” but won’t mind playing the good guy once in a while to prove his versatility.

When asked about working in Bollywood the actor had the following to say:

“It’s a creative process, acting and film-making. So if I get an invitation with dignity and respect, I’d love to go. My only concern is that the script should be good and it shouldn’t pit me as ‘the Pakistani guy.’ I rejected Neerja for this very reason… because I felt that I was there as a token Pakistani actor which is not what I am about at all! I am more than just a namesake. If it’s a good collaboration, if it’s exploring my potential as more than just ‘that Pakistani actor in an Indian film,’ yeah I don’t mind.”

We agree with Gohar through and through, art is nothing without dignity and sincerity, we wish the actor all the luck for his future endeavors because this industry deserves a better class of villains and he’s gonna give it to us (hard to miss but it’s a Joker reference).

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

Hum Style Awards this year had a lot of looks which were not understandable. Celebrities were invited to honour style and fashion in the entertainment industry. Many big names attended the event but most of them did not properly read the invitation. They mistook Humm Style Awards for some space exhibition and came at the event alien inspired outfits and styling. Some of them also wanted to just get it over with and didn’t put any effort and some thought of it as a good opportunity to use all the available cosmetics at once on their faces. Here is a list of worst dressed celebrities at Hum Style Awards 2017. Have a look:

Syra Shehroze:

Nothing about her outfit and styling was right. An orange suit with some weird cuts and loud makeup is not something that would look good on anyone. This was definitely inspired by aliens since only someone from far future will think of this scientific piece as stylish. Syra never disappoints at red carpets but this time she mixed all her bad wardrobe pieces and wore them to this event. The hairstyle does not suit her either.

Ali Rehman Khan:

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

Ali wanted to match his outfit with the background designs of the venue or maybe he is a fan of “Do not cross” tapes because these can only be two scenarios which can explain Ali’s outfit. The yellow lines on the sides of his pants made the suit even more ridiculous. See:

Sadaf Kanwal:

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

This is not just about the sari being extremely bold. The thing is it is just not right. Sunita too wore a revealing sari but Sadaf’s outfit made me wonder what she was thinking while choosing it. The blouse looks tacky and does not go with the whole outfit and her sleek back hair are too sleek back. This outfit would have topped the worst dressed list if I had made it in the least to most bad order.

Saheefa Jabbar Khattak:

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

Saheefa is known for being rebellious and making a statement but this was not a statement from any angle. The blazer did not go with the dress at all. It looked like she just wore anything because she wanted to get the event over with as soon as possible or maybe she was trying to make a statement again. But honestly, it did not work. Saheefa can certainly do better than this.

Mira Sethi:

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

This dress looks like an advertisement for building blocks children play with and that black tutu thing is for what, I am not sure but this dress was a disaster. Mira has a sleek frame and she could have rocked a normal gown easily. Her hair is not even properly brushed. This is another example of an experiment gone wrong.

Mawra Hocane:

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

Mawra’s dress is good to wear for a friend’s birthday party but not on an award event meant to appreciate style. The worst thing about Mawra’s look is hair and makeup. Her hair looks like they were blow dried in the wrong direction and her makeup is too smoky to look good with the outfit she opted. Another bad choice.

Urwa Hocane:

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

Urwa’s dress is too shiny to look good. Moreover, the flower pads on her shoulder make the dress look even worse. Urwa actually looked like a fruitcake which is loaded with every fruit of the season and then the fruits start spilling due to overload. Looks like Hocane sisters didn’t put much effort this time in their styling.

Nausheen Shah:

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

Another space shuttle inspired dress. Nausheen looked really bad in this and the shaggy hair look didn’t suit her at all. I can’t understand the thought behind this outfit because Nausheen is beautiful and she should have worn something that made her stood out or maybe she didn’t have time for styling either.

Nadia Hussain:

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

Nadia Hussain is probably trying to make a record of wearing worst dresses and opting bad styling at different events. This silk dress looks less like an evening gown and more like a nightgown. The makeup is too nude to work for a gown which is also nude in colour. She ended up looking colourless and bad.

Ainy Jaffri:

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

Ainy’s hair and makeup are on point and make her look fresh and pretty but things had to go wrong when Ainy decided to wear a bed sheet. Her gown actually looked like she has wrapped a bed sheet around her. Her accessories were pretty and her otherwise styling was phenomenal but her dress was meh.

Saba Qamar:

Hum Style Awards-Worst Dressed Celebrities!

The dress was not bad but it did not work for Saba. Her makeup was off too. Maybe some bold makeup would have made this dress look nice. This overall nude look made Saba look zombie-ish and colourless. Not a dress to wear to Style awards. Maybe the same gown in some other colour would have worked but this one is a no-no.

These are the worst dressed celebrities for the event. Any other names to add to the list? Mention below!
