This episode of Laa was slow as compared to all the other episodes that have gone on air so far, since it did not manage to engage me the way all the previous episodes have, I couldn’t help but notice some of the loopholes in the direction and the narrative. The story took an ugly and unexpected turn today when Dilawar found out that Daniyal is his brother. Everything happened really fast but I must say that the scene in which Dilawar shot Laila could have been shot in a much better way. Surely someone like Dilawar is used to killing people or is he really a chooza seth? He looked terrified when he shot Laila like he had never hurt a fly in his life. Until now Laa did not give me much to complain about; I ignored the repeated coincidences, I have enjoyed the filmy feel of the play till now and a few loopholes here and there did not kill the overall feel of the play for me because Laa gave me something to look forward to every week and it has been very entertaining. This episode however was slow for my taste and much of what we saw in it made little sense. Firstly, a person like Dai Maa who has blood on her hands is not in a position to question her son for having an affair/affairs. I did not get how she concluded that one of Dilawar’s girlfriends must have told Laila what kind of a character he had. People like Dilawar take pride in having girlfriends and even mistresses, it comes with the status sadly.
Daniyal recalled being at Laila’s house when she went to visit her family but he was never shown in that particular scene in the last episode. In fact two minutes before that scene he was shown sitting with his father in Lahore and tonight he delivered the money to Laila’s house and went straight to the hospital which would mean that Laila’s family lives in Karachi or some place near Karachi. In addition to that Daniyal had more pressing issues at hand at that time with his father sick! Maybe I missed something, if anyone out there was able to make sense out of these two scenes please do enlighten me.
Laila’s character was getting more interesting by every passing episode, I would definitely want to see more of her. We got to find out more about the double life that Laila has been living all these years. Daniyal’s mother wants to hold on to her son therefore she is on a mission to find him a wife but his father on the other hand wants his son to find out who his mother is so that he can be at peace. Daniyal’s father has faith in him; he knows that he will still come back to them even after finding out who his real mother is.
Daniyal’s life has taken a turn for the worse because he has been framed by Dilawar (perhaps). The viewer’s didn’t get a chance to see why the police thought that he was the one who shot Laila but I am guessing that Dilawar must be behind this latest development. Daniyal and Hina will come face to face once again in the next episode but in the wrong circumstances. Laila and Dilawar are the only two people who know that Hina is Daniyal’s mother, Laila is fighting for her life and Dilawar would want Daniyal to be behind bars for the rest of his life.
Although this episode was strictly okay especially when I compare it with the sort of entertainment Laa has provided us with till now because the loopholes in the direction and narrative were too obvious this time around. The story still has tons of potential; if Laila survives, she will tell Hina the truth and Hina will fight her son’s case.
Tonight’s episode was majorly about Sajeela and her desires ; Sajeela thinks that she has the ability to conquer Haider’s heart again but she has completely forgotten that how pitilessly and cruelly she crushed Haider’s feelings under her feet and left to live a happy life with Mazhar. As time is the best healer and teacher; Haider’s wounds got partially healed because Aiman came in his life but Sajeela learned new lessons in her life; Mazhar was a coward, gutless and merely a fraud for whom she left her family and a loving Husband and now that their relation is no more, she wants Haider back in her life. She thinks of Haider as a toy or puppet with whom she can play whenever she want but this time, Haider is firm and knows exactly what to do. I literally enjoyed watching spark and glow on Aiman’s face when she saw Haider ignoring Sajeela.
Sajeela tried every possible way out to convince both Haider and Bibi that she is feeling sorry for what she had done in past. Haider didnot pay heed to whatever Sajeela said and Bibi treated her the way she deserved to be treated. Sajeela developed the feeling of insecurity after noticing Aiman’s closeness to Haider and for that she attempted to plant seeds of doubt in Aiman’s heart.
Aiman was left in a doubt for a moment but she recollected herself ; To assess the level of affection and more than that, to make herself feel satisfied that she is important for Haider, she called Haider for lunch. After all those sad times, Haider found a companion in the form of Emma. In her presence, he forgets everything and at the very time Emma becomes his whole world. Despite of the age difference, they had something common; Deprivation and Starvation – Deprivation of living a happy and peaceful life, starvation of love and affection and when Haider and Aiman are together those empty spaces in their hearts fills up immediately.
Shaheer tried to propose Aiman but Aiman, being in love with Haider , can’t even think of marrying someone else and for that, she completely ignored Shaheer. Poor Shaheer kept on trying and luckily, he met Haider. Eventually, Shaheer found the light at the end of tunnel when he came to know that his father is friends with Haider and Taufeeq. Rakeeb ko Chayai ? Rakeeb ke khaatir daari kaun karta hai yaar.. !.. Sajid was so right, Haider was blessed with such a big heart that he even welcomed the one who wants Aiman in his life and more than that, Haider knew that before.
Sajeela kept on insisting Almaas that she wants Haider back in her life. Almaas, being practical woman, put all the facts and figures in front of Sajeela but she was in no mood to hear anything that is giving even a single glimpse of Almaas denial.
Preview of next episode seems very interesting ; I am not going to tell that what will happen next but gear up yourselves to watch some emotional drama next week.
The team of Woh is back with a sequel titled Woh..Dubara. I have been looking forward to this sequel because the prequel proved to be a complete package; it was entertaining and different. Angeline Malik is the captain of the ship once again and the sequel has been written by Syed Atif Ali. I remember when the prequel was on air Syed Atif Ali was not sure if this new genre of drama will click with the viewers or not, I am glad that the play got the attention and viewership it deserved and the experiment did not fail.
Woh..Dubara has also been shot in the same house where the prequel was shot. The house is still haunted by the demon who has now taken over the body of Faisal’s daughter Saba. Zubair (Shahood Alvi) along with his wife (Yasra Rizvi), child Ali (Bilal Khan) and brother Umair (Ali Abbas) move in the haunted house. He knows about the tragedies that took place in the house but chooses to ignore everything that happened because he thinks that it is not going to effect him or his family in any way. Umair is due to get married to Emaan (Sana Askari) very soon that is the reason why they moved in this house in a rush. All the family members in the house are very close to each other. Even the housekeeper of the house (Sultana Zafar) is treated like a family member because she has been with the family for a very long time. Emaan and her mother (Seema Sehar) however are bad news as Bua rightly puts it. Emaan is headstrong and unreasonable and her mother encourages this behavior. Zubair’s wife on the other hand is willing to compromise because she wants Umair to be happy.
In this episode the demon seemed to be inspecting the members of the household one by one so that it can chose its victim. Ali is the first one who sees the demon and is now “friends” with it. The strange happening in the house are ignored by everyone. The main protagonist in the show this time around is going to be Sana Askari, I hope that she will give us the same stellar performance which Arij Fatyma gave in the prequel. The cast is very strong, one thing I love about Angeline Malik’s plays is that the scenes are always short and to the point and I have faith in the writer Syed Atif as well.
Overall, this was a fast paced first episode which introduced the characters in a very good way. The camera work and picture quality was upto the mark and it definitely gave me something to look forward to. If you want to watch something different, entertaining and of course chilling then Woh…Dubara will definitely fit the bill.

Amna Ashraf; a dentist but probably the most passionate contestant of the lot because she not only availed but nailed the opportunity of MasterChef Pakistan as she travelled from Middle East to make a mark in the competition & she well-deservingly succeeded. Known for her Arabic style cuisine & secret yet scrumptious sauces, Amna has been kind enough to share her experience & journey of MasterChef Pakistan with us. Let’s see what she has to say:
Q) What inspired you to come to MasterChef? A) Cooking is something that has always inspired me. Creating a dish at home and plating it brings a real joy to me. I am an ardent follower of MasterChef Australia and America and that is what really inspired me to start experimenting with different ingredients and to be honest I got my food knowledge from there.
Q) What did you think about the format of the show? A) I think the format of the show is great. I would say it was in line with international standards. The whole team was always prepared and helpful. It tests your cooking skills at all levels such as how you perform under pressure, during team work, how quickly can you think and of course your how much role your luck plays.
Q) How would you define the three judges? Please tell us about them individually. A) The three judges were terrific. Starting from Chef Mehboob; his food knowledge has no limits Masha Allah starting from cuisines to ingredients, he is the father of cooking in Pakistan. He knew exactly what is wrong or right in a dish and I couldn’t agree more with him every time he pointed out a flaw. Sir Khurram Awan; what a great man with a polite personality. Despite not being a chef his food knowledge surprised me. He knows flavour combinations and it’s really hard to impress him with your plate because that man has really high standards. Chef Zakir might has been portrayed as the most harsh amongst the judges but I believe he was one person who really cared for the contestants what, where, when they are doing wrong and I think he was great mentor along with all the judges.
Q) Do you think judges have stayed true to the seat & have not been biased? A) As you say the first impression is your last impression. Some of the contestants made quite a good impression on the judges with their awesome cooking in the first rounds in the kitchen so judges expected more from them and that’s about it. Calling them biased or favouritism wasn’t the right term in this case. They did an amazing job testing our skills and I couldn’t agree more to their decisions.
Q) Many times, it was felt that the judges favoured some contestants & didn’t eliminate those who seemingly deserved to go, is it true? A) As I said above some contestants made a good impression on the judges and obviously they expected more from them. And c’mon its food you cannot judge by just looking at it. They are the ones who taste our food so they can decide only who goes home and who doesn’t. Only the dish with most flaws went home and what I learned is that all that matters was taste.
Q) Do you think the current panel of judges is good enough? If you feel the judges should be changed, who would you prefer? A) I think MasterChef Pakistan team chose the best judges for the series they couldn’t have better personalities for the show.
Q) How did the judges treat the contestants? Do you think they should’ve been friendlier? A) The judges were extremely helpful and friendly. I believe they played a tremendous role in mentoring us, giving us advice, in helping us and even counselling us when needed.
Q) Who were you friends with? A) I believe we all 16 were like a family we ate together, we did all our activities together, we helped each other, and we lived like a big multicultural family. I was the family doctor on board hehe, but Khurram uncle, Iqra, Zain and Rayyan made my journey more fun and comfortable.
Q) After watching the episodes, do you think the format & execution of the show & episodes needs to be improved? A) Being the first season I think Urdu1 and the MasterChef Pakistan’s team did a great job. Their efforts and bringing it to international standards was commendable. I was surprised with the grand set, the kitchen, the equipment’s and of course the pantry you name an ingredient and it was there. One thing I’d like to add is the set, the kitchen everything was much grander than it looked on the television. In the seasons to come I would suggest more episodes a week and an improvement in the editing.
Q) If yes; what changes would you like to see in the show? A) I would definitely like to see more challenges per episode, more episodes per week and finer editing.
Q) Do you feel the challenges that the contestants were put up with should have been a bit more diverse? A) We had contestants from everywhere and based on their cooking I would say it was the perfect selection and mix of challenges that we were put through. A few challenges might have looked pretty simple or easy on television but trust me with that big clock set on your head and the pressure of elimination can make you forget how to perfectly boil an egg.
Q) What are your comments on the politics among the contestants that got covered in the show? A) NO COMMENTS, haha! But I would say we made good television. ;)
Q) In the personal VT’s were you people asked to speak about your co-contestants or it was completely your choice? A) There was never any politics on the show, and I would say some of the friendlier comments were misjudged. And whatever was said in anger or fun was completely our choice. You see a 40 minutes episode on television we spent whole three months together. So we kind of knew each other better than being judged on television on the basis of few comments.
– Please define your co-contestants in one word: – Sidrah: Baby doll – Mudassir: Very very quiet – Iqra: Food library – Gulnaz: Full of surprises – Madiha:Muh mian mithu – Khurram: THE GREAT – Azam: Why so serious? – Saad: Ammi – Zain: Loves fish & experimental – Rayyan: Cooking with style – Ali Shah: I like your afro – Anila Qamar: Sweet – Adnan: Beautiful personality – Mariam: Super sweet – Ammarah: Polite and humble
Q) What advice would you give to those who’re interested to appear in the next season? A) Practice, practice and practice. Time your cooking. Read about food as much as you can. Try different ingredients. Work on your flavours and watch MasterChef seasons so you have a better understanding of the show. And prove no dream is too big to be dreamt of or too small to be pursued
Q) In the end, please share your experience & feelings about being a MasterChef contestant & what did it teach you? A) The first thing it taught me, to be honest, is that dreams my friends are not limited to the Disney world because dreams do come true. Coming to MasterChef, cooking in that kitchen was my dream and I can’t thank Allah Ta’allah enough for making it true for me. MasterChef Pakistan’s team made a remarkable effort. I haven’t seen anything of this magnitude and standard in Pakistan before. I have learned a lot of new things from this experience, from baking to plating a fancy dessert, it was all there and the judges managed to get the best out of us. It was the best moment of my life and an unforgettable experience.
So, this pretty much sums up Amna’s journey. She came up with some quirky yet honest replies. As much as she enjoyed being in the show, she exited with much grace & exhibited a lot of strength during the show. Share what you feel about her answers.
Our hero maybe out of sight but it will take a miracle to get him out of Shazia and Mehreen’s mind! Mausam has a very weak storyline and the direction is anything but impressive. There is no build up and no climax, the twists and turns come and go without leaving any impact on the viewers. The story moves forward gradually without giving you much to look forward to. I have totally failed to connect to the characters. Saman’s character had tons of potential but the writer killed that potential when she decided to make her holier-than-thou and I don’t understand why all these sidhi sadhi ladies in our dramas have to speak so slowly. Being simple and being dim-witted are two completely different things. Next time one of the drama writers wants to etch-out a simple girl’s character I highly recommend that they add a little bit of intellect to that character too. Smart girls can be nice too, you don’t have to be brainless to be nice! I was shocked when Saman decided to go to the parlor because that actually showed that she really did think that a visit to the parlor will change her destiny! She has tried Biryani and a new hairstyle, I wonder what is next. Magic wand anyone? What was even more shocking was the chance meeting between Hashir’s mother and Saman. I wish Saman and Hashir’s mother would have met somewhere else because it was hard to believe that someone like Saman can afford to go to a parlor Hashir’s mother goes to. Women like Nigar are very conscious about the parlor’s they go to and they are always places with the highest rates. Girls like Saman usually go to a parlor in their locality because they are not that expensive and are accessible.
Shazia got insulted from Mehreen and Nigar left right and centre but the girl is totally besti proof. Nothing these women say effects her, in fact we never even see her giving anything anyone says a second thought even. Shazia is definitely in contact with Faisal and they are upto something behind Saman’s back. Girls like Shazia enjoy keeping men wrapped around their little finger, she did not marry Faisal but she would not want him to get over her either! I hope that we see Shazia paying for everything she did because she does not deserve to be forgiven.
Saman’s mother in law’s character was the only nuanced character in the play but that has changed too ever since she sold Saman’s jewelry. Anita Campher is a brilliant actress but this time around she went over board; her accent is too loud and annoying. Mehreen is a very smart girl, I wonder why she was not able to guess what her father had been upto something when he clearly stated that he talked to Nigar about Mehreen’s friendship with Hashir. That was another conversation that completely fell flat. There is zero chemistry between Shazia Naz and the actor playing her father in the drama.
The misunderstandings in the drama are being stretched beyond limit, the story does not have much to offer and the characters are unimpressive to say the least. I hope it ends soon (wishful thinking)!
Malala Yousufzai is one of those very few people who are considered by everyone as heroes in the West but for some unexplained reasons are always getting criticized by majority of the public in their own country. People have conspirac theories which they link to this young girl because of which they have no respect for her.
Recently Malala talked on facetime with Justib Bieber who showed her support to her. Ushna Shah on her facebook page shared the link Justin Bieber shared and gave the heading “She just has that ‘please shoot me’ face. I’m so going to hell.” This statement clearly shows that Ushna Shah is not a fan of Malala Yousufzai.
Faysal Quraishi and Maheen Rizvi were last seen together in the drama “Adhoori Aurat” before they teamed up for “Bashar Momin” which is currently on air. In both plays Maheen Rizvi played a negative role. Faysal Quraishi and Maheez Rizvi will be sharing the screen again in upcoming drama serial “Iqrar” which has been directed by Furqan Khan. Furqan Khan was behind dramas like Sabz Pari Laal Kabooter, Tishnagi, Umm-e-Kalsoom, Mere Hamrahi, Roag, Mera Saeein 2 and Adhoori Aurat.
Faysal Quraishi is very busy shooting for “Iqrar” nowadays. He keeps his fans updated through his facebook page.
“Tum bachi nahi ho, shadi shuda ho, aik beti ki maa ho…stop dreaming!” I love the way this drama gives its viewers a chance to rethink all the clichés and double-standards that exist in our society. Once a girl gets married, she is supposed to dedicate her life to making her marriage work, nothing else in the world matters. The second a girl gets married she should stop dreaming because that is the start of practical life; stop dreaming about being happy…Is that really fair or right? Bee Gul’s script forces you to question all the preconceived notions about married men, women and marriage in general. Is marriage just a social obligation or more than that? Is a woman only a wife and a mother after marriage or does she have a pehchan of her own too? And if a woman loses her pehchan as an individual after marriage why doesn’t the same hold true for the man as well? Why does the society expect the woman to deliver and the man is not questioned because as long as he provides for his wife and kids he can get away with everything. Pehchan rejects all the stereotypes which we have been seeing in our dramas for a very long time now. It is refreshing in its own unique way. Laila has stopped looking for excuses for Mansoor’s less than attentive behavior, she knows that there is no point in hoping that one day things will change for good and she most certainly is done with putting up a show for her mother.
“Jis rastay pe tum chal rahi ho, us rastay pe chalnay wali aurat ko hamare masharay mei jis naam se pukara jata hai, janti ho?…..Buhat achi tarah janti hun, magar ap jaise mard ko kis naam se pukara jaye yeh nahi janti!!”…so true and so ironic! They are so many names for women who cheat on their husbands, who fail as wives because our society loves to label and judge women but what do you call a husband who cheats on his wife and who fails to make her happy? Although this episode like all the previous ones was loaded with powerful dialogues that cast a spell on you; the sort of conversations that stay with you long after you have heard them but my favorite scene in tonight’s episode was the final confrontation between Mansoor and Laila. Laila may think that it is her financial independence that has given her the courage to stand up to Mansoor but something tells me that it is not just that. There are many financially independent women like Kukoo who think they are incomplete without a man but Laila knows that she has an identity of her own, which she can only safeguard if she goes away from Mansoor. Laila also knows that she gave this relationship her best but Mansoor failed as a husband; he failed to give her the love she deserved. Laila would have happily let her husband be her new pehchan had he given her enough love to earn that status. Men do not get respect, love and everything else that comes with a marriage simply by entering into nikkah with women, they also need to work hard to earn all that. Mansoor warns Laila again and again that without his pannah Laila is vulnerable and weak but Laila knows better. Sohail Sameer has outdone himself as Mansoor, he has been brilliant throughout the play. Whoever selected him for this role deserves special appreciation.
“Tum buhat masboot ho Kukoo, tum ne mujh jaise admi ka bhoj saha hai…Mansoor Jaise admi ka stress saha hai!”Khurram and Kukoo both failed each other and they decided to be honest about it when they parted ways. Khurram explained his relationship with Kukoo brilliantly. He was always like a spoiled child and Kukoo like his mother, maybe that is the reason why he never wanted a child of his own! A child does not know that he has duties too but he only expects the mother to be there for him whenever he needs her. Similarly Khurram forgot that this marriage was a two way road, he did not realize that one day Kukoo may get very tired of all this and turn to someone else for the kind of love Khurram never gave her. Khurram always got what he wanted from his relationship from Kukoo but he never gave much consideration to Kukoo’s wishes. He never even tried to understand her. He knew what she wanted but his own happiness was much more important to him. Khurram is not perfect in any way at all but at least he was man enough to admit his mistakes and he forgave his wife for what she did. Mansoor on the other hand still thinks that he did nothing wrong. Kukoo felt liberated after Khurram left, it looked like she was eager to move on.
Kukoo and Laila both have an opportunity to start afresh; how are they going to make use of this opportunity, remains to be seen. Will they be able to find their pehchan without a man? Will Laila be able to stick to her decision? I can’t wait to find out. Pehchan has been a masterpiece till now, it is refreshing, enlightening and very well executed. Bee Gul and Khalid Ahmed make a superb team, I hope we will be seeing more plays from them in the future too.
Do share your thoughts about yet another impressive episode of Pehchan.
Zain Rashid; a contestant who introduced himself as a fusion artist of the food in MasterChef Pakistan is now here to share his experience with us. Zain has been the one who was known for putting up best plates in terms of presentations & at times in terms of flavors too. Zain has an honor of presenting his dishes in such a way where every single plate looked like a beautiful canvas adorned with perfection. Even though Zain had a rocky start in MasterChef Kitchen, but the way he redeemed himself is praiseworthy. Zain is the one who has an honor of leaving Chef Zakir speechless because of the sauce he presented in the auditions, where Chef Zakir challenged him for not making it himself. There were some highs & lows in his journey, so let’s see what he has to say to us:
Q) What inspired you to come to MasterChef? A) I love cooking and I love food. Even at home I use to cook a lot, plus my passion to create something new out of the same ingredients seems super exciting to me. So to show my talent and creativity in food world I came to MasterChef so I can explore my passion on big platform and I myself have been an avid follower of the MasterChef series.
Q) What did you think about the format of the show? A) The format of the show was amazing, super and perfect. It was really fair and honest. For the first time in Pakistan I saw such a great show and I’m glad to be the part of it.
Q) How would you define the three judges? Please tell us about them individually. A)Chef Zakir: Very senior, respectable, experienced and honourable. Chef Mehboob: My mentor, fusion master, experienced, friendly and a great human being. Chef Khuram Awan: Humble, a gentleman, great personality, friendly, inspiring and a bit jolly person which is very good to see. On the whole our 3 judges were and are the best judges I have ever seen.
Q) Do you think judges have stayed true to the seat & have not been biased? A) Yes off course, they are so senior and experienced that they know better than us.
Q) Many times, it was felt that the judges favoured some contestants & didn’t eliminate those who seemingly deserved to go, is it true? A) Hmmmmmmmmm…………
Q) Do you think the current panel of judges is good enough? If you feel the judges should be changed, who would you prefer? A) Well I think these judges are totally the best panel and they should remain the same through every season. As far as their judgment is concerned, their experience and even their personality truly represents that all.
Q) How did the judges treat the contestants? Do you think they should’ve been friendlier? A) Well the judges were very friendly with all of us and if at some point they treated us a bit harshly and that was for our betterment so that we could learn from their words even. Sometimes a lot more was hidden in their advice which became very useful for us.
Q) Who were you friends with? A) I am friendly with everyone, but I’m more close to Amna, Iqra and Khurram Uncle.
Q) After watching the episodes, do you think the format & execution of the show & episodes needs to be improved? A) A bit improvement will be needed but as this was the first season so Masha Allah it was the best in comparison to other countries’ first seasons.
Q) If yes; what changes would you like to see in the show? A) Many people were expecting the wild card entry in which all the eliminated contestants could come back and fight for a particular seat. That’s a game changer challenge I must say, so, it should be there. And yes the challenges should be made tougher. Even I have couple of ideas, lol.
Q) Do you feel the challenges that the contestants were put up with should have been a bit more diverse? A) Yes, the best and the tough challenge I felt was that when we selected the ingredients and then we had to change our baskets with the other contestants. That day I felt that yes the bar of difficulty raised and it seemed like a real challenge.
Q) What are your comments on the politics among the contestants that got covered in the show? A) Hahahah, no comments please.
Q) In the personal VT’s were you people asked to speak about your co-contestants or it was completely your choice? A) It was completely our choice until and unless we wanted to talk about something in which that co-contestant was related.
– Please define your co-contestants in one word; – Sidrah: Cute and innocent – Mudassir: Like a brother – Iqra: Power house of knowledge – Gulnaz: Gul-naz – Madiha: Clever – Khurram: Sweetheart & a darling – Azam: Decent – Saad: Captian – Amna: Fun loving person – Rayyan: Nice buddy – Ali Shah: Great company – Anila Qamar: Energetic – Adnan: Fusion – Mariam: Friendly & cheerful – Ammarah: MasterChef
Q) What advice would you give to those who’re interested to appear in the next season? A) All the food lovers who think can cook amazing food should definitely come to MasterChef Pakistan next season as you will learn, explore and gain a lot in food knowledge. It’s the best platform in Pakistan and many can find a path of their dreams coming true from here.
Q) In the end please share your experience & feelings about being a MasterChef contestant & what did it teach you? A) I learnt a lot from this platform and being a MasterChef contestant is like a dream come true for me. I have passion for food and creativity and MasterChef gave a lifetime experience and chance to explore and get to know me myself as chef better. I wish I could bring the pantry home, it was amazing being in the pantry and to stand in the MasterChef kitchen was more like stepping into a dreamland. All the contestants were amazing and great. Plus the team of MasterChef was superb, cooperative. I would like to thank to the management team of Urdu1 and the entire team of MasterChef Pakistan to bring us such an amazing platform about which we could dream only of. Thank you so much. Now it seems like a beautiful dream which got over so fast but Insha Allah I am going to make my mark in the food industry very soon Insha Allah.
So, this was it from Zain Rashid, some straight forward answers & some dodgy ones. :) But I truly appreciate him for being honest & for taking some time out especially for us all. I wish him luck for his future ventures. Share what you have to say about Zain & his story.
I remember watching ‘We’re Family’ while I was doing household chores & that movie seemed boring & never-ending. The reason for why I am talking about the Bollywood movie here is that a story which was told in 2 hours had a capability of looking dull & dragged, so just imagine how puuuurfect would’ve been the idea of stretching it till 18+ episodes.
I am really not understanding the point of not ending this drama at a izzat-able note. To be honest, I was expecting that this would be the last episode but the moment I saw a numbering to it in the beginning, it just ruined my whole mood. Practically & honestly, they are left with nothing, absolutely nothing to show but they are just now torturing us to tell us how attentively they’ve copied the story of Step Mom & We’re Family. They’re punishing us for the sin we haven’t committed. They’re bothering us so that we can’t sleep peacefully at night just because we all, in a manhoos-ghari thought of giving this play a go.
I mean, to be honest, I never thought any such dialogue would seem to be a riddle to me in this plain & dull drama, but Khala Masooma has proved me wrong. Honestly, I confess & I surrender that I never understand what she says, why she says it & what does she mean? For once, she is trying to make Dua understand that she’s a soteli ma to Jazib’s kids, then she is reminding her of her duties, then she is trying to make Dua realize that she will always be like an external entity to this family & then she is telling Jazib to understand Zara’s perspective? My only question is, what is Khala Masooma doing in this drama apart from pulling off this hawas-bakhta expression on her face? & why is she so important?
Zara has accepted Dua ages ago & sorry to say even now I am waiting for her to leave this family & world alone. She is actually losing all the sympathy votes, which she might’ve earned, one by one. Zara has accepted Dua & as a gesture, she gifted her a suit, added her in a family photo, so what’s left to be settled?
On Khala Masooma’s not so Masoom ghuzarish, Jazib thought he’d shower the unnecessary love on Zara & now when that’s settled, can someone ask Khala Masooma why’s she hell-bent on making her daughter’s life miserable? Dua seems pretty happy & settled in her life, but seems like Khala Masooma has got nothing better to do, so she is just passing her time with the constant nagging reminders of an unseen complexity of Dua & Jazib’s relation. Dua has proven herself to be a very wise & mature young girl & she definitely doesn’t take it after her mother because Khala Masooma is….
In the next episode’s preview, Zara demands spending time with Dua? Hasn’t she done that already? She has been with her ever since she moved to Jazib’s place, so what was she doing all this while? Hasn’t Zara spent enough time with Dua at home already that now she feels spending a time in a restaurant will solve all the non-existent mysteries of her life? Please, I request Hum TV to cut this drama, chop out the scenes, edit the ending & end this drama ASAP or else I’ll pray that Khala Masooma haunts you all in your dreams.
Sarwat Gillani and Fahad Mirza got engaged almost a year back. The news of the engagement was a surprise for everyone because no one knew that these two love birds were planning to get engaged. Sarwat Gillani notified everyone of this good news in a very different way by posting this facebook status.
The latest news is that Fahad Mirza and Sarwat Gillani will be getting married on the 14th of August, a few days before Danish Taimoor and Ayeza Khan’s wedding. We wish the happy couple all the best for their future.
Man.. ! .. What a breathtaking episode it was ! I must say that tonight’s episode was one of the best episode of Pyarai Afzal . Sometimes, we reviewers fall short of words and this is what that is happening to me today still, all I can say is that it was not less than a roller coaster ride- Ride filled with emotional drama and intense feelings. Sohai Ali deserves an applause for what she did and how she transformed herself from roti dhoti bahu to Yasmeen, who is of happy-go-lucky nature and knows what to do,when to do and how to do ; Tonight’s episode was solely dedicated to her.
Maang rahi thei k sunday ko 27 tareekh na ho .. ya phir 27 ko sunday na ho.Lubna revealed the truth infront of Farah that everything that happened lately was nothing but a plan – a plan to compel Farah to confess her love for Afzal. She clearly told that it was the part of her treatment and everything that happened as Farah’s reaction was exactly opposite to what they expected.
Mujhe batao aakhir Afzal hai kaun or kis ka hai ye Afzal ? Lubna was sick and tired of trying so she finally decided to give-up and have one-to-one conversation with Farah. Farah’s doubts got vanished when she came to know that Lubna’s association to Afzal was another one of her tactic to solve the matter.
Ye khat nahi hain Yasmeen.. mohabbat ke aik gumnaam Kahani hai.. Afzal was sheer disappointed with everything that is happening and as he knew that Farah is going to get married now, he decided to give up on her. Afzal nay bachpan mai khuwaab dekha tha ..pura nahi hoa to yeh bhi nahi bataya ka kya dekha tha. His eyes were telling the truth -Truth that was buried deep inside his heart since his childhood. Farah was the girl for whom he longed all his life and now that Farah is becoming a part of someone else’s life , he had no right to keep anything associated to her. Keeping that in mind, he asked Yasmeen to burn every piece of those letters that were written by Farah, apparently. Tumhain Kasam hai Afzal, chahay uss k gham mai jaltay rehna magar inn khatoun ko kabhi mat jalana. Yasmeen didnt want Afzal to lose his hope and as she was not even aware of reality so she decided to fight – Fight for Afzal , fight for whom she came all the way from Karachi to Hyderabad, fight for her loved one.
Neend aa rahi hai mujhe .. or neend ke goli khayai baghair aa rahi hai.. Maulvi Saheb was completely shattered and broken when Pyarai Afzal left him. With a thought that Afzal will go back to Karachi, he wasnot ready to forgive him when he came back. And as, he got convinced that his son is staying with them, despite of all differences, he can have much awaited peaceful sleep after a long time now.
Jaag jao Farah ..Iss keemat par kabhi mat sona k tum ne kayyoun ke neendain haraam kar di hain.. With an adamantine thought in her mind, Yasmeen went to Farah because all this while she clearly discerned and remarked Afzal and Farah’s feelings for each other and for that, she was obstinate that Farah was the one who wrote letters to Afzal. She was firm that this time Farah won’t be able to deny the fact. But how would Farah be able to accept as she never attempted to write to Afzal; She was egoistic and there is no way for emotions and ego to stay together and in case of Farah, Ego overpowered her emotions always.
Mohabbat agar cricket hoti tou mai jeet gaya hota.. It was not a matter of days or months; he had those intense feelings for Farah from the day he learned the meaning of true love. Walking through the lane of memories, Yasmeen figured out the resemblance in the writing pattern of letter and Afzal’s diary and that solved another mystery.
Yasmeen planned to solve the matter as soon as possible and for that she decided to go to Farah’s. Mai aaj bhi chali jaoun gey.. mujh par bay adabee wajib ho gaye hai.. Now that Yasmeen knows everything, how can she live under the same roof with Afzal.
Best sequence of tonight’s episode was the confession conversation between Yasmeen and Farah. It was deep, full of emotions, intense and with every new dialogue my concentration on the show increased a hundred times more than previous one. It was when we came across thousand shades of emotions – Yasmeen’s despair of losing Afzal, the sorrow of rejection ,the grief of not being his priority, Farah’s content of knowing that Afzal is madly in love with him, the felicity to know that she never lost Afzal and he was and will be hers always and most important of all the grief of not accepting her true feelings and love for Afzal. Her tears spoke her heart out.
Afzal did not accept that he was the one who wrote letters and as soon as he came to know that Yasmeen was at Farah’s place, he got full of rage..Kyu gaye thein wahan tum..On being asked by Afzal, Yasmeen clearly told him ” Maulvi uncle k coconut waalay bisuitoun ke khaatir.. or tumhari ammi ke khaatir.. unn ko Farah mai tum dikhtay ho.. ” Yasmeen knew that these were few last moments of her with Afzal as his fiance, she knew that she was never his parents choice and like Afzal, they strongly wanted Farah in place of Yasmeen ,still they welcomed her openheartedly. With all that in her mind, she decided to put a full stop to this never ending mystery.
This show turned out to be one of its own kinds and I can proudly say that it was irresistible to be avoided; I am so going to miss this show as next episode will be the last one… :(
Paymaan is an upcoming drama that is currently being filmed. The cast includes Sanam Saeed, Mohib Mirza, Junaid Khan, Noor Hassan, and Cybil Chowdry. Aabis Raza will be directing the show. Filming for the show began in early June in Florida. Here are a few pictures taken during the shoot.
Paymaan will be Cybil Chowdry’s first drama, as she is a model. Mohib Mirza will be coming back on TV after quite some time. I’m glad to see Sanam Saeed as usual. She is always a delight to watch. Let me know what you think in the comments below.
All of Pakistani celebrities have shown their support for the Palestinians but Ushna Shah has been more active in supporting the cause than any other actor. She has asked her friend, fans and anyone who will hear to ban all products which support Israel even when some of her co-workers are not very keen on supporting her. Some are making fun of her too on her facebook page but Ushna is very determined.
Ushna Shah even posted on her facebook page that she did not feel like celebrating Eid. Here are some tweets and status updates that will show the readers that Ushna Shah has been advocating the case of Gaza on the online social pages.
Saba Qamar always looks ravishing in Eastern and Western outfits. She has proved her versatility by acting in different kind of dramas. Not only this, she is also a very good host. If you see her chatting in live shows you will know that she is more spontaneous than the host.
Here are some pictures from Saba Qamar’s latest photo shoot.

Ohkay so, Shanakht, new drama of Hum TV, written & directed by Amna Nawaz Khan is off to a good start. I thoroughly enjoyed the first episode because I didn’t find any loopholes in the execution & the story so far. The story of Shanakht has touched a very sensitive topic of Hijab & the difficulties Muhajjaba’s (ladies who wear Hijab) have to face. At first it might come across as a bit unpleasant to see how they have shown the derogatory remarks that people put forth about someone’s choice of Hijab, but then if we look at with an open mind, they have showed it just perfectly as to how people become judgmental towards other’s choices. I think this story will inspire us all in a different way & I can’t wait to find out how.
The story is about households of two brothers Ahmed & Amjad (Mohsin Gillani). Ahmed & Shireen (Shamim Hilali) have a son Hashim (Noor Hassan) who happens to be interested in Quratulain/Annie (Maya Ali), who’s a daughter of Amjad & Huma (Sabahat Bukhari). Annie is their first born & she has a younger sister Kashaf (Sadia Faisal). Both these families are very close-knit & they believe Hashim & Annie’s marriage will further strengthen the bond between them.
What appealed to me throughout the episode is Annie’s character. Even though she is a centre of worry for her mother & people around her just because she chose a path that goes parallel to the society they move in, she is something more than that. She is talented, she is intelligent, she is wise, she’s groomed, she’s mature & most of all, she is trying to lead a life in a certain way which appeals to her. People around her might be judging her just because she chose an added piece of cloth to cover her head, but what I liked about her character is that despite all the objection she faces every now & then, she is sticking to her decision & that shows that she’s also strong headed but rightly so.
Huma definitely blames Annie’s friend Ayesha for transforming her into a ‘mulani’ but fortunately for Annie, her father Amjad is very supportive. Huma’s perfect idea of a daughter is definitely Kashaf, a care-free teenager, who Huma might never feel ashamed of because she’s just as modern & liberal as her mother. Even though Shireen loves Annie & knows that Hashim has always liked her as well but she also feels a bit sceptical thinking Annie’s choices do not go in accordance to their social class & circle, but despite all that, Ahmed still believes that Annie’s too precious to let go off because firstly Hashim likes her & secondly, she herself is a very nice person.
In this episode, every now & then the issue of Annie’s hijab came into limelight, where it was shown that Huma accepted it the hard way that her daughter has chosen to cover to her head, she definitely gave her a tough time in the beginning. Even though Hashim has always had a soft corner for her & likes her a lot but to some extent he also doesn’t respect her choices, therefore he kind of ridicules her idea of going to university on her own because she feels Hashim is still a na-mehram to her. Annie herself knows that her family will flip out because she revisits those harsh words she had to face when her mother found out about her decision of wearing a headscarf.
Finally, as for Huma & Amjad, they wanted Annie & Hashim’s relation to officially begin but were kind of hesitant being a girl’s parent but luckily for them, Shireen & Ahmed were thinking on those lines too & they planned that the best gift they could give to Hashim on his upcoming birthday would be an announcement of his engagement to Annie. I think for everyone, this engagement will bring in a lot of joys but for Annie, who is already struggling with the candidness Hashim shows towards her, she will face some hardships when Hashim will try to treat her like a mehram & will expect the same from her.
So far, so good. I really enjoyed the first episode & I hope the pace & the execution of the story stays the same. Even though I have no complains so far but one thing that really bothered me was Sabahat Bukhari’s haircut. I think she is also becoming a ‘Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ where she is finding it hard to accept that the number of her age is ascending, hence the failed attempts of looking younger. I really wish she accepts the truth & starts staying true to her age, which would really suit her. Noor Hassan has acted really effortlessly & for a change, that looks really nice. Maya Ali looks sweet & I am glad she changed her dialogue delivery. She is definitely looking good as Annie. Can’t wait to see more. Share your thoughts on the very first episode of Shanakht.
Today, marked the beginning of another new serial on Hum TV “Muhabbat ab nahe hogi”. It has been directed by Shaqielle Khan and written by Saima Akram Chudhery. So what forced me to tune into this 9 o’clock drama?Firstly because I was tired and getting bored.Secondly,I got a glimpse of the Khans.Yup thats right, Ali Rehman Khan who is mightly handsome and whose good looks got utterly wasted in the awful “Rishte Kuch Adhoore Se”.He was in the movie “Slackistan” costarring Osman Khalid Butt,Shahbaz Shigri and others but that got apparantly banned in Pakistan. Then there is Armeena Rana Khan who was last seen in “Shab-e-Arzoo ka Aalam” but that one too got mixed to negative acceptance. These two people are extremely beautiful, combine them with the jaw-dropping magnificent sceneries of Islamabad, what more can we ask for?Well,a story maybe? Whenever I see two eligible girls in the promos of a coming soon drama,I just hope and pray that they are not sisters and cousins. But alas! All my hopes are shattered everytime! Stupid me!
Anyhow, back to the story,so ya the story starts just like any other Pakistani drama, where by the wedding bells are about to ring. The “rishta walas” are coming to see our sweet, pagli si,filmy, dreamy, silly, innocent but very pretty heroin.Who by the way lives somewhere far in a village-like place with her mother, father and sisteerrr..yay! No surprises there?Mother is concerned to get her married as soon as possible, she does’nt know how to cook, she failed in her exams, cannot do simple household chores, but seriously?Does that even matter? She is beautiful and innocent and that is more than enough. Her pre-marriage life:Nook jook with sister(obviously only till the day of wedding), watching Humsafar, deep sighs on the sight of Fawad Khan, the thoughts of a romantic future husband, long drive,ice-cream,other bolly stuff, etc.Read on…so the rishta walas comprise of the typical team! Know what a typical team is? Yea,yea you got that right. It comprise of:the mother who is eager to bring a beautiful, khandani bride of her elder, very serious, mature, boring son.The sister, the inspectious-minded,nagging sister, not happy with mama’s choice, perceives something “fishy” with the first glance of her sister-in-law-to-be.And yes…the devar..I mean the brother..the fun-loving,jolly tabiyat, just chill, chill, chill type younger brother who seems more like a long-lost twin brother of the heroin as far as the nature is concerned.Yes,poles apart from his elder bro and you though only sisters can be different? Let me tell you, special care needs to taken not just of the naive saali, but the naive dewar as well.Oops i think i just spilt out more than was required.Kheir,so there is no father in this “typical team” he has passe away yearrsss back thus leaving the entire responsibily on the shoulders of the elder bro.Come on guys, don’t blame him,he is mature for a reason.Ok,so I went to the kitchen to fetch a glass of water and guess what? The shaadi had taken place by then.We all know the result of this “jaldi wala kaam”.(Please forgive me i did not bother to remember the names of the characters)In a state of hush hush rush rush, the wedding happens, she requests her husband to take full photos of her lehanga on their wedding night, and ohh ohh how can i forget, before that, the devar also comes and lies down on the same bed as the bride!Further complimenting her beauty(and that is not the last time he will be doing that).
Another thing, our dear hubby does NOT reside in Islamabad,he lives abroad and came in just for 15 days and the pyari dulhaniya can’t go with him due to some issues in the family visa. There were some fishy,I mean seriously fishy dialogues coming out of his mouth like: “Mere baad tum ammi or Azhar ka bhot khayal rakhna,wo thora shararti he par muhabbat karne wala he” and “Zindagi ne mohlat di to le jaun ga honeymoon par bhi”…Speaking of which…whats up with the awkward title aka Muhabbat ab nahi hogi,as there have not been any “i love you confessions uptil now, lets see when and “with whom” the actual muhabbat takes place. The sister seems not to be liking the interaction between devar and bhabhi. From here starts the “shukk journey” No,no,not that one. That one had two gals and a guy, this one has two guys and a gal. What a huge difference.wow. This drama,in many ways has strangely reminded me of “Dil he chota sa”. Anyone of you who might have seen will notice. But I am not going to start mentioning the comparisions, after all,we don’t want to spoil the big and “unpredictable” surprises by Hum Tv who instead prefer to ruin it by their title songs. God,I hope i find something better to do next week.Fishing maybe?
P.S: Whats up with the big 3 ? Why are they constantly showing repeat dramas of the past? Don’t they have anything to show? Is this reverse gear scene some sort of a new trend or competition as they like to say?
Ciao!
Earlier, My fellow reviewer came up with the news of World TV Premiere of Waar .Despite of the fact that I watched it within a week after its release, I got excited about the news as Waar is not available at any website from where we can download or watch it again. And more than that, people living abroad have been deprived from watching this blockbuster movie for so long. Now that Ary people are giving us this treat, I am glad to announce that Waar’s World TV Premire is scheduled on Pakistan’s Independence Day. Yes, you read it right, all of us will be able to watch this movie on 14th of August at 8 pm only on Ary Digital.
Enjoy the movie and do share your experience with us.. :)
With Independence Day just around the corner, I thought I’d compile a list of dramas that boost the spirit of patriotism in me and I am sure, in all of you too. Pakistan is the best country in the entire world_ maybe not in development, maybe not in education, but in patriotism. All the Pakistanis are connected to their roots in one way or another and can never move away for them even if they try. While there are hypocrites who try to undermine Pakistan in every way, there are people who love Pakistan from the bottom of their hearts and above all, there is Allah who will not let us falter until we have complete faith in him.
It was extremely hard for me to choose which show should go at the top. After spending a lot of time thinking, I decided to give the first place to a real story:
1. Sipahi Maqbool Hussain:
ISPR and Interflow Communications Limited presented the story of Sipahi Maqbool Hussain, directed by Haider Imam Rizvi. It is about how Sipahi Maqbool Hussain ended up in an Indian jail and how he was abused for 4 decades for being a Pakistani and denied “Prisoner of war” status. The main lead was Hassan Niazi as young Maqbool Hussain. Other actors were Raja Haider, Batin Farooqui, Riaz Mastana, Reeja and Ghazala Butt.
Sipahi Maqbool Hussain was captured during the 1965 war. He was abused and asked for identity but he kept writing No.335139 as an answer. He was tortured to an extent when even his toe nails and tongue were not spared. He still wrote “Pakistan Zindabad” with his blood. After 4 decades he was sent back in mentally disoriented state but no one from his family, his mother or brother, were alive to receive him. He scribbled his story of abuse in bits and pieces in front of the psychiatrists who attended him. The last scene showed the real Sipahi Maqbool Hussain being given flowers and respects by the army.
The actor playing the role of older Sipahi Maqbool Hussain also did a commendable job.
The real Sipahi Maqbool Hussain was given a VIP suite by Ex-President Pervez Musharraf. He sleeps on the floor and stays away from bright lights. He likes to remain in the dark corners of the room. Such was the impact of torture on him.
We will always respect you Sir!
2. Alpha Bravo Charlie:
Alpha Bravo Charlie was created by ISPR and Shoaib Mansoor. It is the tale of the friendship between Faraz (Faraz Inam), Kashif (Captain Abdullah Mehmood) and Gulsher (Capt. Qasim Khan). Faraz was the rich and handsome one , Kashif was the funny one and Gulsher was the serious and shy one. Another character is Shehnaz (Shehnaz Khwaja) who had a lot of effects on their lives.
The patriotic spirit this show gave the audience was long lasting. Kashif, who initially was not intensely devoted to the army, proved his worth by killing an entire team of Indian soldiers at Siachen. He lost his arms and legs due to harsh weather conditions.
Gulsher fought the Serbs in Bosnia and was captured. He later tried to run away but was again caught and this time, martyred.
Faraz did not get assigned to any combat but he took part in charity works.
Shahnaz did not stop searching for her husband but could not succeed. She returned to Pakistan. Later she permitted her only son to join the army as well. What a wife and what a mother!
The show aired on PTV but after many years Geo Ent. also aired it.
3.Wilco:
Wilco which aired on PTV was produced by the ISPR alongside 7th Sky entertainment. It was directed by Ahsan Talish and written by Mohammed Ahmed. The cast consisted of some big names; Humayun Saeed, Adnan Siddiqui, Ahsan Talish, Laila Zuberi, Ainne, Amna Sheikh, Beenish Chauhan, Imran Abbas, Zainab Qayyum. The story was deep and there were many sidetracks beautifully woven in. It showed how the army not only defends Pakistan against enemies but also rushes to help during natural disasters. There were some scenes between Imran Abbas’s character and Annie’s character which were cute and funny. Humayun Saeed’s death in the end made the audience sad :( but showed the sacrificial nature of his character. He let the helicopter go without him because he knew that his climb would consume a lot of time. The avalanche could damage the helicopter and kill the injured people inside it. He killed an enemy before being consumed by the storm.
This is the final scene:
Danish Taimoor :
4. Dhuaan:
Dhuaan aired on PTV. Directed and produced by Sajjad Ahmed, the story was originally in the form of an english novel written by the lead actor Ashir Abdul-Azeem himself. He dramatized it later. The other actors include Nabeel (we all know him from Bulbulay ;) ) Asal Din Khan, Abdul-Wajid ,Nazli Nasr and Zubair Khan Achakzai. The five college buddies united in Quetta after many years and made a plan to dedicate their lives to Pakistan. Azhar (Ashir) was already an ASP. The others also trained themselves and learned to use weapons. Eventually they were offered a case of narcotics which was supposed to be kept secret from local police. Then followed a lot of action and thrill and finally after succeeding in their mission, all of them embraced martyrdom. The audience wept as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s “Kisey da yaar na wichdey” was played in the background.
Four of the five friends:
5. Dastaan:
Hum TV’s Dastaan was based on Razia Butt’s novel and dramatized by Sameera Fazl, Dastaan was a one-of-its-kind serial. Haissam Hussain directed it. The main cast had, Sanam Baloch, Fawad Khan, Saba Qamar, Ahsan Khan, Mehreen Raheel, Samina Peerzada and Abdul-Qavi Khan.
Bano was the strongest character I saw on TV. She went against her brother’s wishes to prepare banners for Pakistan movement. She supported the creation of Pakistan with all her heart. She had never even thought her life would take such a tragic turn. After partition of India, Bano’s parents, brothers and sister-in-law were killed. She was kidnapped, tortured, forced to convert to Sikhism and married to a Sikh. Even so, her faith remained unshaken. This drama was a lesson for every Pakistani to acknowledge the sacrifices made for their country and love their country till their dying breath.
6. Khuda Zameen Se Gaya Nahi Hai:
This ISPR project aired on PTV and Hum TV simultaneously. Asghar Nadeem Syed took the responsibility of writing it and Kashif Nisar handled the diirection. It emphasized on the enemies who are cutting Pakistan from its roots. They are showing Islam as a terrorist religion. The show highlighted Pakistani army’s efforts to rid the country of them. It covered the issues of bombings of mosques, hotels and schools to killing of women who stepped out of their houses only to earn for their orphan children. It showed how some people claim to be religious when they even don’t let their own children (especially daughters) study. The cast included Jibran, Sara Chauhdry, Ayub Khoso,Nauman Ijaz, Ayesha Khan and Irum Akhter. Jibran’s character was a true patriot.
7. Jaan Hatheli par:
The show aired on PTV and Urdu 1. Story and direction was from Syed Husnain Abbas and Shamim Bazil penned it down. It emphasized the war against terror done by the security forces in Balochistan. For a long time, the people of Balochistan have been terrorized and this drama told them that they are a part of Pakistan and Pakistanis don’t abandon their brothers :) The main cast included Asad Malik, Nadeen Baig, Noman Ijaz, Shamoon Abbasi, Madiha Iftikhar and Myra Khan.
8. Sunehre din:
This drama which also aired on PTV was on a much lighter note. It was supposed to inform the viewers about the life of the young cadets of Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul.Saleem Sheikh’s character went against his mother’s wishes to join the army. Had he known what he was getting himself into! The senior officers were pretty harsh on him and the other new guys. But then again, this is the Pakistani army we’re talking about! They got to be tough and well-prepared for any challenge. The scenes that followed were funny and I had a lot of fun watching them along with feeling a little bit sorry for his troubles :P The night before promotion, our hero and his friends took all the revenge they wanted to take. For one night, the seniors transformed into juniors, and the juniors into seniors. Bas phir kya tha? The revengeful feeling could not be suppressed any longer!
This was the list of dramas I find most patriotic. What did you think of the list?
In the end, I would like to say that please pray for your country on this Independence day. Love your country and never utter any bad word against it because it has been made after a lot of sacrifices. The ones shown in Dastaan were hardly 5% of them. Not only before partition, but also after so many years, Pakistani army and the common people are fighting, struggling and laying down their lives against terrorism. The least you can do is love your country and pray for it. What if Pakistan is not as developed as others? What if it has corruption? We are the ones who can develop it. We are the ones who can finish the corruption and the first step has to be taken by you.
Yes! You! The one sitting in front of the computer/laptop reading this. Stop the corruption. Start by not throwing wrappers on the streets. Start by talking politely to your fellow Pakistanis (whatever language they speak). Start by helping the poor. Start by educating yourself and then educating others.
Most importantly, forget that you are an Urdu-speaker, Sindhi speaker, Balochi speaker, Pashto speaker , Punjabi speaker, Kashmiri speaker and so on. The list will never end but your country will (Allah na kare) end if you keep thinking like this. Start introducing yourself as a Pakistani only. You may have a different language, but not a different identity.
“I’m a Pakistani and my language is Urdu/Punjabi/Pashto/…..”
So stay blessed, united and have a wonderful 67th independence day!!
We all know that Aamir Liaquat said a few things in his last show which basically showed that he was telling Fahad Mustafa that he was much better than him. He called himself his “baap” to be more precise. Here is the video I am talking about
Fahad Mustafa replied very decently to what Aamir Liaquat said. He got his point across without sounding rude. Fahad Mustafa clearly said that he did not consider hosting real work, this was more of relaxation for him. He also said that he had great respect for Aamir Liaquat. In other words he is saying that hosting maybe Aamir Liaquat’s passion but it is nothing more than a hobby for Fahad Mustafa.
Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor were guests in Udham Nite which was hosted by Faysal Qureshi. In one of the segments of the show, Faysal Qureshi asked Ayeza Khan to rate different actors acting out of ten. Surprisingly Ayeza only gave Fawad Khan 5 out of 10. Whereas, she gave Fahad Mustafa 9.7 out of 10, she said that she had learned a lot from Fahad Mustafa.
She gave Hamayun Saeed 8.7 and even Aijaz Aslam according to her deserves an 8. The reason she gave for giving Fawad Khan a 5 was that she has not seen him act in many plays. Shamoon Abbasi’s acting was given 7 points by her, Nauman Ijaz got a 10 which shows that he is her favorite actor.
Danish Taimoor gave Mahira Khan 6 out of ten which was the lowest he gave to any actress!

I am really puzzled by the recent “harkatain” and messages of Aamir liaquat in his Ramzan transmission on express tv (not that there were no harkatain before but now they have increased 10 folds). After watching the video below, I was forced to think that there is really something wrong with his mental state. Is it a mere jealousy or extreme arrogance which is making him say all this or what else?? Having the knowledge about Islam, he should know that arrogance is strongly disliked in Islam. His behavior is really contradicting his claims to be a religious scholar.
I have not seen Fahad Mustafa saying anything bad about Aamir liaquat in his show or even claiming to be the best host. The most upsetting part is when these so called religious scholars totally ignore one of the most emphasized aspect of Islam: ikhlaqiat. All these commercial Ramazan transmissions are taking people away from the true meaning of Ramazan. Instead of spending time in ibadah, learning and doing good deeds, and asking for forgiveness from Allah (swt), people are busy watching these commercial shows and learning the tricks to win a mobile. I hope things change and our media start emphasizing more on the true essence of Ramazan.
Please share your thoughts.
Disclaimer: I am just a regular viewer of Pakistani shows. I have no relation to any person who works on television or any TV channels. I am just giving my honest opinion.
The past few months have been happening for the Pakistani entertainment industry in more ways than one. Many of our favorite celebrities got married recently and other extended their family by being blessed by beautiful babies. Maheen Rizvi has also found her soul-mate. She got engaged recently. Maheen Rizvi has not given details about who her fiance is but here is a picture of two of them.
Maheen Rizvi looked simple and elegant on her engagement. Here is a picture of her engagement.
We wish the beautiful and talented Maheen Rizvi all the best for her future.
Alright… so this was one engaging episode, with some minor developments. However, there were a few things I found a bit unnatural this time. You see, the whole ‘khandaan’ knows that there is one person amidst them who never included the word, ‘NO’ in his dictionary. Seeing Saqib’s stability, Mehar’s envious relatives seized the opportunity to secure their future. But thankfully, Mehar does know how to say ‘NO’. The shut-up call she gave to her relatives was much awaited. I hope these irritating relatives don’t get any coverage in the upcoming episodes because we have had enough! It is high time that Saqib also learns something called, ‘standing up for yourself’. I do feel that our dramas should now also focus on balancing the use of these two words, ‘YES’ and ‘NO’.
Now that we were done with Mehar’s relatives, Saqib’s sister stepped in with her dukh bhari kahani. See, I told you everyone is aware of Saqib’s inability to say, ‘NO’. So, this time around, misfortune has struck Saqib’s eldest sister, Firdaus Aapa and she is relying on Saqib (again). She is being mistreated by her son and daughter-in-law, and has turned to Saqib for help. Saqib, being the qurbaani ka bakra that he is, offers her to come and stay at his place. I guess Saqib doesn’t want Mehar to stay all alone when he is gone, so that’s more of a reason why he invited Firdaus Aapa to his house. I must say Mehar has proved to be quite sincere and she didn’t have any issue with Firdaus Aapa’s stay at her house. But quite surprisingly, Mehar’s mother harbours some negative feelings against Firdaus Aapa so I am guessing her arrival will bring some not-so-good changes.
Well, enough of these relatives! Let us talk about Prince-no, Doctor Charming :P Well, this episode had a lot to do with Dr Shariq. He made the first move and called Sidra. Had it not been for that girl’s poor dialogue delivery, I would have enjoyed the conversation between them! Now come the parts I found a bit unnatural. ‘Aur Mehar aur Saqib kaisay hain’? When Shariq asked this question on phone, I couldn’t help thinking how come it is possible for a doctor to remember the names of his patient’s family members (and that too so accurately)? I know it’s a minor detail but still! And when Adeel got bored, he called his doctor to give him company? To be honest, I never knew people call their doctors to get rid of boredom! Upon Adeel’s request, Shariq paid a visit to their house and seizing the opportunity, he flattered Sidra with flowers, chocolates and compliments! It seems Sidra has now developed a liking for Shariq too! Seeing her sister getting attention from a young, educated and handsome guy, Mehar’s jealousy streak was exposed today. But I must say I don’t blame Mehar. She must have had so many dreams and desires, which every other girl has about her life partner. I think her envy is justified for now.
Okay, so it turned out that Mehar, Saqib and Shariq-they were all invited for dinner. Shariq is thoughtful and considerate for Sidra and Adeel but I found it a bit inappropriate the way he ‘explained’ how 40+ people need frequent checkups. I am sure he is right and he must have had no real intention of hurting Saqib but still-he could have been a bit more thoughtful. But once again, Mehar came to the rescue and defended Saqib again-I must say this girl surely knows WHEN and HOW to speak :P
And yes…they also introduced Shariq’s mother and sister in this episode, which goes on to show that we would see Shariq more and more in the coming episodes. Shariq lightly mentioned to his mother that there is a girl he is willing to marry but like a typical mother we see in our dramas these days; she is intent on getting his daughter married first. I don’t know why but I can sense drama serial Meri Beti’s scenario repeating all over again. There is this insecure mother who will bear a grudge against her daughter-in-law because she will consider her son’s choice as an obstacle in her own daughter’s marriage. But you know something interesting? The daughter herself won’t have any self-pity problems! Talk about irony!
I guess we will not be hearing from Mateen again. It seems like this guy is too embarrassed to make an appearance! I was expecting Saqib to leave for Dubai in this episode. But that didn’t happen. I hope the next installment focuses on some major developments.
So, this was it folks! Are you looking forward to the next installment? What do you think of this one? Please share your thoughts!
I don’t know from where I should start, a great play came to an end. Marasim is one of the absolute masterpiece that we rarely produce nowadays. Applauses to the whole team of Marasim. I think if the drama industry is still alive in Pakistan, it is just because of dramas like Marasim. This shows that thought provoking writers are still writing some great handy stuff but what actually pisses me off is that why these shows never get ratings and viewership? Why these shows are telecast on least watched Channels? Anyways keeping aside my disappointment, let’s start with the message of drama Marasim.
First of all I would like to thank Writer Zanjabeel Asim Shah for providing such a great story to us. Believe me I could hardly see any writer now writing the story which defines the harsh realities of life. Seems like our writers are out of stories and now all they got to write is about oppressing women and love triangles. Marasim gives a brilliant message to society that we should learn to forgive and forget others wrong doings and that’s what Islam teaches us. Life is indeed very short to fight with each other and hate each other. Life is a beautiful gift from ALLAH and we should spend it by doing good deeds like taking care of your family, relatives and friends and helping others. Marasim gives out a clear message that hate and ego which grows inside us not only destroys our own life but infect others and leaves many marks on others life. Gitiara hatred towards her sister in law and family had badly infected Nayab’s and Daood’s life. There is a saying that don’t hurt others because one may forgive you but never forgets.
Another message that Marasim gives out, your destiny is written by ALLAH and never regret what you didn’t get because there is a saying in URDU “HAR CHEEZ MEIN ALLAH KI MASLEHAT HI HOTI HAI”. Poor Nayab she went through many difficulties of life, first her mother passed away then she received worst treatment from her brother in law, then her cousin died who was her only hope and finally daood also left her but in the end ALLAH rewarded her with daood’s business and property and after daood’s death her mother in law also realises that she had failed to provide happiness to his own son.
The strong message of Marasim was that every soul has to depart one day and we should always remember that we have to die one day. This world is finite and the actual life starts hereafter, so never consider anyone below you. Every human being is born equal and die equal so why do we have so many standards and complex society norms? I simply adore one dialogue of this drama “Bas sirf aik rassi khechne ki dair hoti hai saari shaan-o-shaukat thikaane lag jaati hai”. The lavishness of life is nothing but illusion and we could live a better life if we wipe out illusion from our eyes. No wonder this drama was an eye opener and will remind you about the harsh reality of life and that is death.
BRAVO TO DIRECTOR
Marasim is just not only a good play from its strong and powerful storyline but the direction had taken this drama to another level. Each every scene is so well directed that your eyes remain glued to the screen. Owais Khan is definitely a talented director. I can also link his one quality with director of “Ranjish Hi Sahi” Nadeem Siddique and that is the use of colourful extensive wardrobe and use of different bright colours in background. Directors should consider to use range of colours because it gives a visual treat to viewers. The lovely colour combinations allure screen and helps a lot in catching viewers’ attention.
Other credit we can give to director is that he had not dragged the drama at all in fact viewers were commenting why this is ending so early. Similarly to Aunn Zara this drama got finished in 19 episodes.
CREDIT TO THE WHOLE CAST
Whole cast deserves real applauses specially Ahsan Khan, Urwa tul Wusqa and Sonya Hussain. I have to agree with Zahra that I have never seen Ahsan Khan before in such a good role although he is labelled as “nakaam aashiq” but he was splendid in this drama. I hate Hocane sisters for their over-acting but after watching marasim I came to know that Urwa got such brilliant acting skills. Actually it all depends upon director they knew how to get best out of best from actors for example Haissam Hussain he exactly knew the potential of each and every actor/actress. Soniya Hussain is a new talent of our Industry and she can easily rule the Industry, just one good project on her Lap and she will become a star. Salman Saeed (the guy who played Zaid’s character) was also brilliant. Naila Jaffery and Saba Hameed are veteran actresses.
In the end I just want to give gratitude to the production house of Humayun Saeed and A-PLUS Channel. I am realizing that A-PLUS is becoming a good channel as it is providing with some quality stuff now, first it was Aunn Zara in 2013, then Marasim, now Pehchan I wonder how many good dramas I have missed on A-PLUS. I mean if we compare, this channel is better in this quarter and if they continue to provide us with quality stuff then people may switch to A-PLUS. So I have some great expectations now with this Channel, hopefully they will continue to provide quality stuff in future.
So have you watched this drama? If yes then please give your views as well, if not then it is strongly recommended to watch this drama.
Oh God! Trust me it’s a task to review this play which practically has nothing to offer apart from some whitered & sleep deprived faces.
Finally Bumble Bee has arrived to USA & she has started sniffing some cold war between Beta Bee & Bahu Bee. I thought she was there to visit her kids but seems like she went to USA to take beauty sleeps because all I saw her doing in this episode was sleeping & roaming around in her night gowns but then that’s justified, considering the load-shedding that happens in a city like Karachi, she mustn’t be getting proper sleeps, so she must’ve thought ‘abb sab neendain Amreeka ja ke hi puri karoongi’.
Awazar once again threatened Haya to pose all calm & happy in front of his Bumble Bee. I mean give me a break, if he is so fixated to his mother & is really worried about her happiness, why doesn’t he just chuck her in his lap & baby sit her all along? Why does he depend on others to tend to his responsibility; i-e his mother, which actually is becoming more like a liability on others? Does he really think that Haya can manage to smile & look happy & fresh given the ordeal he has put her up with? That’s a shame.
I managed to pick up another line from the OST which was like ‘Kareeb Reh Ke Bhi Duur Hai Wo, Ye Duuri Mera Kaleja Cheeray’.Haye Haye! Yes! These are the actual lines from the OST. ENOUGH SAID.
It seemed that our business tycoon Awazaar borrowed a sleeping suit of his younger brother who happens to be a size smaller to him because he looked like a stuffed pillow in that white shirt & checkered pj, or else he might be busy making money to buy two mansions that’s why he forgot to fetch a right size for himself, hence the stuffed pillow look, but I am glad he went for it because it gave me a good laugh. I mean seriously? Adnan Siddique needs a break because he seems to be making some really bad choices.
Finally now when Bari Biwi’s gone, Awazar got some guts to concentrate more on his Baby Biwi & that included lending her a jacket, giving her a panadol, making a breakfast for her, ignoring Sofia’s calls & also passing those tired sleepy smiles to Haya (euuu). What a spineless chicken Awazar is I must say. Now that he knows Sofia ain’t there to distract him, he feels Haya is his wife & that’s a reality. He seemed like those chummy uncles any young girl would run away from but sadly Haya jumped into this deep pit all by herself with her eyes wide open, so she has to put up with the chumminess. What’s funny is that to add more to the chumminess, she found a chummy-chap; Mustafa who was practically shopping with a children’s cart in a shopping mall.
Seems like Awazar will become a gugu in the next episode & throw some tantrum like ‘jaow mai tum shay baat ni kalta, mai katti hoon’ because he just started slipping in love with Haya but he now saw a competition in young & vibrant Mustafa. Even though Mustafa’s Pakistani Bwoy-ness is acceptable, what I really don’t get is that how can he fall for such a girl who practically is capable of pulling only 1 expression on her face? I guess to find that out, we’ll have to follow the rest of the drama. :/ Share your thoughts on this masterpiece, please!
Hmmm, I usually tend to procrastinate watching the last episodes of my favorite dramas because to be honest, I find it very hard to come to terms with the fact that a certain journey is coming to an end. Similarly, this time around, I didn’t feel like watching Marasim’s last episode but just because I knew so many readers would be waiting to share their thoughts, I gave it a go. I really hate sad endings & this is why I feel gutted to see the ending of Marasim. I know they’ve kept things real & didn’t bring in those unrealistic twists but deep down, even though this realistic ending seems justified, there’s a voice in my head that says I would’ve loved seeing Daood leading a happy life with his family. But I still believe that an imperfect ending is what has made Marasim a memorable work of art, a masterpiece & for that I am glad I tuned into this play.
This episode was all about Daood, the climax of his journey & his life, therefore he wanted to take those last few steps in order to bind his family together. There wasn’t much that happened in this episode as being a last one, it ended slowly but it was packed with some powerful dialogues that were absolutely touching.
Daood knew he had taken care of Nayab & thankfully for him, he got such an understanding partner, that just when he walked away from her, he knew he had done everything that has made her contented & that is why, he didn’t feel burdened in regards to Nayab as they both parted on a positive note, where neither Nayab nor Daood had an ounce of regret left. At least in this scenario Nayab can breathe & take a sigh of relief knowing that she didn’t for once let her husband down & he was relieved when it came to her.
When Nayab was taken care of, he knew it was Gaitiara who he had to work upon. Sadly, Gaitiara didn’t know what she was going to lose, but then it taught us that life is too small to hold grudges & we really don’t know what the other person is going through. If Gaitiara had known Daood’s suffering, she; as a mother would’ve treated him differently.
I think the last scene of Daood & Gaitiara was done with a perfect intention that just because Daood wasn’t satisfied with the way he parted with Gaitiara, he got a final chance once again to share a few words with her, which obviously changed her as a person, changed her perspective & changed her outlook on life. If Gaitiara would’ve gotten to know about Daood’s death over a phone-call, she would’ve never changed & rather had only blamed Nayab for snatching her only son away from her but just because Gaitara herself got to speak to Daood, she herself saw him losing his life to a fatal disease, that window of blame shut down completely which later might’ve haunted Nayab. Daood made sure to make Gaitiara understand what her happiness meant to him, that is why he remained persistent that he wanted to see her as a bighearted person who had no grudges against those who have passed away, he wanted to see her as someone who wasn’t blinded by the hatred she might’ve once felt for the people around her & also he made sure to mention his wishfulness of seeing her treating his family as hers, his wife as her daughter & his son as a part of her son; Daood.
The ending was heavy & as much as I am sad for Nayab for not meeting a happy ending, at least she moved on with a support of her mother in law & they both picked up the pieces to lead a peaceful life with Unaid as a center of their universe. But yes, to see our favourite character; Daood, suffering & dying within was depressing.
Hmmm, I must say Marasim was one-of-a-kind journey, it was a complete story that gave us a lot of beautiful moments. I thank the writer, the producer & the director for giving us a masterpiece like Marasim. I must confess, I was never ever convinced with Ahsan Khan, Sonia Hussain & Urwa Hocane’s acting but Marasim has changed my perspective. I really wish all these actors opt for such brilliant scripts & get to work with such directors who elevate such scripts to another level. I must say Naila Jafri & Saba Hameed played their parts really well & added such reality to their characters which is commendable. I am glad I watched Marasim & enjoyed every bit of it. Share your thoughts on this journey.
What are the factors that contribute to the success of a drama? Many ofcourse, the script, the direction, the production values, the acting of cast but we as the viewers also tend to set eyes and find out first who the lead couple is.If all the above mentioned factors are at their place but the lead pair doesn’t have that kind of magical chemistry then it can let down the whole drama really bad.Now there have been many such pairs that have mesmerized us by their great on-screen beauty. Some of them became extremely popular to the point that people want to see them together again and again.Just to name a few;Fawad Khan and Mahera Khan, although appeared in a single play, their popularity reached 7th sky.Similarly,Ayesha Khan and Humayun Saeed have done many serials together, their name will also be written in golden words.Fawad Khan and Sanam Baloch have also been great together,Ahsan Khan and Mehwish Hayat is also a successful on-screen couple together.Imran Abbass and Sanam Jhung were an instant click together in Dil e Muztar with the audience and now they are appearing together once again in another drama named “Alvida”.Then it was Fawad Khan who won our hearts once again with Sanam Saeed in Zindagi Gulzar Hai.You have to admit,Fawad Khan and Adeel Hussain can create magic with almost any heroin. Some more recent couples were of Adeel Hussain and Sanam Saeed in Shukk and Of Shehryar Munawwar and Sajjal Ali in Aasmanon Pe Likha. These latter two are good examples of how a dragged to death drama can also become a hit with audience only if the lead pair has a sparkling chemistry. Don’t you guys remember how we used to anxiously wait for a few scenes between Aaliyan and Qudsia (Shehryar and Sajjal) even though the rest of the drama had less to offer.Such is the importance of it. Now after talking about these more prominent ones, lets take a look at some other couples who had a blazing chemistry but are little less remembered.
1. Sami Khan-Ayeza Khan: To be honest,Ayeza Khan’s flat facial expressions are very monotonous in most of her serials that is why she rarely clicks with the lead male.(Although she is doing a good job in Pyare Afzal) But with Sami thar happened. They complemented each other very well. One of Ayeza’s earliest play was Tootay hue Par in which she was paired with him, then in Do Qadam Door The,and most lately in Bikhra Mera Naseeb. All three are Geo tv dramas. They surely make quite a nice looking couple.
2. Faisal Shah-Tooba Siddiqui: These two brilliant actors have been absent from the screen for quite some time now but they looked so good together. In “Dil he chota sa” which had Mikaeel and Faisal Qureshi too, Faisal was an antagonist but even then they had something extremely charming about then. They were present as a proper lead in “Ae Ishq hamain barbaad na Kar” on Ary,in which they were nothing short of extremely good looking.
3)Faizan Khwaja-Maya Ali: Now this would seem to some people like pairing Bella with Jacon instead of Edward but the fact is that all three of them look good as cast. Maya rocks with Osman Khalid Butt,we all know that but the highlight of “Aik Naye Cindrealla” was the innocent friendship between these two poor souls which eventually blossomed into love.First of all,Faizan’s role as “Rooman” was extremely loveable, his character had soo much depth, faithfulness, courage and honesty about it that we didn’t care if he was as rich or as good looking as the “Prince Charming”.Both their scenes together were a treat to watch.
4)Mikaeel Zulfiqar-Mehwish Hayat: Yes,you read it right.Mikaeel,a regular bad husband in dramas who has no interest in his wife and his character in “Manjali” was no less different.Only difference was that it had Mehwish in it.The best part about this drama were the dialogues and the cast;Saba Hameed,Sohai Ali Abro,Shehryar Zaidi.Something sounds fimiliar?Plus it had Sajid Hasan and Shamim Hilali.Could it get any better. The dialogues, for which the drama got fame were comparable to the ones in Pyare Afzal. The lead pair was odd in the sense that it was never in love.Instead there was just hatred and obligations between them but still the chemistry was there. Their scenes were too enjoyable along with those witty dialogues and obviously when two actors have such deep gaze in their eyes, who can resist? He was not even the hero by the end and ended up in jail but that doesn’t matter.
5) Sana Javed-Muhammad Ali: The drama was a recent one “Ranjish hi Sahi”.Sana is a very talented actress. In this drama, their were actually two heros for her,and there was a time when her character was in love with of them! But the wat the serial was conducted,we could not have any objections on that.Muhammad Ali made his debut with it,and he managed to do a decent job at it. His character was also a very good person, who was deeply in love with Tooba ,there came many obstacles in his path but he helped her out in all the bad times, acted as a support for her and never let her down even once in all those years. Just when Tooba was on the verge of expressing her love to Rohail, she realized that she had loved Arsal for all this while and he is the one with whom she wants to spend her life with. It was because Rohail was comparatively newer while Arsal had been tested again and again in this path and ultimately his love had won.It was simply heart-warming to see their scenes together.
These were just a few that I highlighted.Do you agree with me?Also don’t forget to share any couple whom you saw and liked in a drama but somehow they went unnoticed.
Recently several of our big stars are going to India and working in Bollywood movies. However, their Pakistani fans are hoping that these superstars should or must contribute towards Pakistani cinema besides working globally. Fawad Khan is one of those superstars who is currently working in a Bollywood project. However, I am (and his other fans are) extremely pleased to hear that he wants to bring his experience back to Pakistan to contribute in Pakistani cinema. Following is an excerpt from his recent interview in India:
“The amount of experience that India has in filmmaking, for me it is an education to understand how systems work because we are re-propping our industry and it would be a valuable contribution,” said the actor, who featured in the internationally acclaimed Pakistani movie Khuda Kay Liye.
“They (Indian filmmakers) have mastered the craft to the extent that they have won over a global audience. I am actually able to take back a certain form of education. For me, it is more importantly an educative experience when it comes to filmmaking and I would like to incorporate that in some way or the other back at home as well,” he said in an interview.
He also said that he is currently doing a Pakistani film with Sultana Siddiqui and his role is very different from his previous roles. He said that he has not signed any other Bollywood projects yet.
P.S. I hope that other Pakistani actors/actresses who are working in Bollywood should think in the same lines and work towards the progress of Pakistani cinema.
