The usage of social media has its pros and cons; where it is helping a lot in bringing awareness to the masses, the biggest drawback of excess usage of it is shaping the perspective and eye of the people in such a way where they have gotten used to the idea of perfection. Every picture on social media posted by the influencers has to be perfect in order to meet the standard that has been set for them. This has made people so used to makeup, photoshopped and filtered photographs that no matter what, people find it hard to break free from this trend and post their pictures in a natural state owning their imperfections and real self.
There was a time when Pakistani celebrities were new to the idea of social media but as the time passed, they realized that their fan following was getting used to seeing them in filtered form with makeup, perfect hairstyles, lighting and photoshopped images. This is what gave them a reason to post their bare-faced pictures through which they promoted self-love and confidence to those who suffered from low self-esteem. Celebrities in any country play a huge part in shaping the mindset and perspective of the audience, therefore it is very important for them to impart such pivotal messages to their followers and supporters. It is unfortunate that in the current era, the cosmetic procedures to enhance the beauty are being heavily promoted in Pakistan, which is instilling complexes among people and making them image and beauty conscious to an extent where they can not look past beyond it. In times like these, the biggest message the celebrities can preach is self-love and being comfortable in your own skin. This is the reason when they post such pictures where they are in their natural state, their fans find them more relatable and appreciate them being real. Pakistani celebrities very passionately speak about taking care of themselves and using such natural products along with clean eating habits and fitness routines which helps them in achieving clear skin, which is another important message which teaches people the importance of self care.
Pakistani people are blessed with beauty and the celebrities represent a percentage of this entire beautiful nation, this is the reason, irrespective of wearing makeup or not, being in their casual outfits or formal ensembles, Pakistani celebrities always look beautiful because the most important thing is confidence and being comfortable in your skin.
Here are the pictures of Pakistani celebrities looking absolutely beautiful without makeup:
Aiman Khan
Aiman Khan is the young and beautiful actress of Pakistani industry. She has the type of complexion where a little bit of makeup shows up prominently, this is the reason she always keeps her makeup minimum in her dramas, however when it comes to her personal account, she doesn’t shy away from sharing her natural beauty without any makeup or filters. She has perfect skin and she makes the most of natural sunlight while clicking such pictures.
Hania Amir
Hania Amir shared her struggles of acne and skin issues with her supporters on her social media. She wanted to be honest about it and did state that it cost her self-esteem, however in the process of fixing her skin problems and taking proper measures, she also realized that being comfortable in her skin was the most important thing for her. This is the reason she now posts her pictures when she is not wearing any makeup and she looks absolutely gorgeous.
Hira Mani
Hira Mani doesn’t shy away from sharing her pictures without makeup. Hira Mani has made it obvious that she relies on makeup only for her work and when she has to show up at any occasion, but she likes to stay bare faced when she is travelling and spending time with her friends and family. Hira Mani also likes to keep her makeup very subtle and minimal, this is the reason when she wears no makeup, there isn’t much of a difference when she is without any makeup. She is a natural beauty.
Hira Tareen
Hira Tareen took inspiration from Hania Amir when she took it to her Instagram to share her struggles of dealing with acne. The makeup she does for TV adds more age to her characters, whereas without any makeup, she looks like a super cute teenager.
Mahira Khan
Mahira Khan has always believed in natural beauty, this is the reason even when she does makeup for TV it can not be detected on her skin. She barely adds any coverage to her already clear skin. It serves as a reminder to all those who find it hard to appreciate the beauty they are blessed with.
Mansha Pasha

Mawra Hocane
Mawra Hocane also advocates natural beauty, this is the reason she doesn’t rely a lot on makeup even in her dramas. The thing Mawra is a fan of is cheek and lip tints, other than that she has naturally clean skin, this is why she doesn’t need to do much to look perfect.
Maya Ali
Maya Ali has come a long way and groomed herself a lot. Maya Ali loves glamming up and this is the reason, every now and then, she posts her pictures when she is not wearing any makeup to remind everyone that she is absolutely comfortable in her own skin and makeup is a part of her job, which has not turned her into someone who would shy away from embracing their skin.
Mehwish Hayat
Mehwish Hayat is also into a lot of makeup. Every picture that she posts is perfect where she is looking at her absolute best, therefore for a celebrity like Mehwish Hayat to become transparent with her fans and show her bare-faced pictures is a big deal but in the end shows that it does take a lot of courage for her to be candid with her fans and imparting a message of being confident and loving yourself first.
Minal Khan
Minal Khan is also blessed with beautiful skin and she has the kind of complexion where a little bit of makeup is enough for her to look perfect. However, Minal Khan also likes to keep it real with her fans and every now and then, she shares her natural unfiltered pictures with her fans. She looks absolutely beautiful in her natural state.
Momal Sheikh
Momal Sheikh is also quite fond of makeup, this is why there are not many pictures of her on her insta feed, however a few that she has shared show how beautiful and cute she looks without any makeup.
Neelam Munir
Neelam Munir is very fair and has porcelain skin, therefore she doesn’t need a lot of makeup to look beautiful. Neelam Munir has now started to wear soft glam in her dramas which is being appreciated a lot more. This is the reason that in Kahin Deep Jalay, she looks more beautiful than ever, because she has not relied on a lot of makeup. She is naturally very pretty and has a spotless skin.
Saba Qamar
Saba Qamar takes good care of her skin and because she is into yoga, it helps her detoxify which results in perfect spotless skin as well. Saba Qamar states that she has started wearing less makeup and this is the reason, now she doesn’t shy away from sharing her bare faced pictures with her fans because she looks just as beautiful as she does when she is wearing a bit of makeup.
Saheefa Jabbar Khattak
Saheefa Jabbar Khattak’s entire instafeed is filled with such pictures where she is not wearing any makeup. She has perfect features, perfect one-tone skin and she is confident to flaunt her natural beauty to her growing fan base.
Sanam Baloch
Sanam Baloch is also not a fan of wearing a lot of makeup. She feels it doesn’t suit her and adds a lot more texture and maturity to her face. Sanam Baloch is a natural beauty of Pakistani industry and she is blessed with clear skin too.
Sanam Jung
Sanam Jung also keeps her makeup to an absolute minimum in her dramas, this is why when she shows up without any makeup, she doesn’t look like a different person. Although she has stated that because she used to be conscious of her dark circles, she used to cover them up with concealer, but it is good to know her embracing it and showing it to her fans that it is natural to have them and not be conscious about them.
Sonya Hussyn
Sonya Hussyn has come a long way. She loves to glam up and every picture that she posts showcases her enhanced beauty. However, when she started and got to social media, she had shared some pictures of her without any makeup and we say, she looks stunning.
Yumna Zaidi
Yumna Zaidi is also not too fond of makeup and feels it doesn’t suit her. Sanam Jung is an actress and host. Known for her massive hit dramas. Sanam made a come back in acting after many years with drama serial Mein Na Janu, which came out to be a big disappointment of her fans. The drama just ended and her fans are quite hopeful that she will select her new project wisely.
As we all know Government has announced lock down in country and like all other people celebrities are also following government instructions of not leaving the house. The worst part of lock down is that saloons, spas and beauty parlous are also closed. Both men and women are effected by it. They can’t wait for the lock down to be over so they can rush to parlous and get back to their routine faces. Some people has started cutting their hair at home. Same does Sanam Jung. She trimmed her husband Qassam Jafri’s hair at home. Sanam uploaded a picture in her Instagram story in which she is seen trimming Qassam’s hair through shaving machine. Let’s have a look at the picture:
Sanam and Qassam got married in 2016 in a lavish wedding ceremony. Qassan Jafri is a pilot by profession. Sanam and Qassam are living a happy married life and have a daughter together.
The importance of the opening episode of a drama cannot be undermined. Most people decide whether they want to continue watching a drama or not based on how engaging and appealing the first episode is. Having said that, first impressions can sometimes be misleading as well.
A drama with a great first episode might turn out to be a disappointment in the coming weeks. Similarly, a drama with an average opening might pleasantly surprise the viewers as the story moves forward. If you are a drama buff then, in my opinion, you should give every promising drama at least one chance. Sometimes we miss out on amazing dramas just because we weren’t expecting them to deliver. I watched the first episodes of all the recent dramas so that I can help people decide what they should be tuning in to.
These are my first impressions of the latest Pakistani dramas which recently started. I won’t be giving the storylines away in this article, just a general, first impression of the opening episodes.
Tarap
Writer: Nadeem Siddique
Director: Misbah Syed
Producers: Babar Javed and MD Productions
Schedule: Every Sunday 9 pm on HUM
It seldom happens that you watch a drama with absolutely no expectations but end up really liking it. I watched the first episode of Tarap solely to share my first impression about it and not because I was planning to watch this drama in the long run. Well, guess what! Tarap’s first episode was so engaging and well-put-together that I had to scroll down and see the credits list.
Yes! I did not even bother checking who the writer, director, and producers were beforehand because like I said, I wasn’t really planning to watch it. Tarap is a 9 pm drama which usually means that it does not have enough substance to fit the 8 pm slot. After watching this first episode, however, I must say that it deserved a better slot unless 9 pm is the new 8 pm ;)
Tarap has multiple tracks, it also has some of the best actors in the industry, few new faces and the aspect which appealed to me the most was the strong screenplay and effective dialogues. As far as first episodes go, this was hands down my favorite. Tarap also has an old-feel to it, not in terms of the visuals but in terms of the overall storyline and execution.
Those of you who have watched dramas produced by Babar Javed will get his signature vibe from it. After watching the first few scenes, I was certain that this was not solely an MD Productions and I am honestly wondering if that was the reason why this drama did not get an 8 pm slot.
Tarap attempts to highlight certain social issues like most of the dramas produced by Babar Javed. It can easily pass as a family drama which might have something for everyone. Most of the performances in this first episode were on point and the opening scene of this first episode was the best among all the dramas which aired this week.
This first episode was intriguing and even though some of the performances were slightly shaky, the more experienced actors made up for that. Technically, this first episode of Tarap had a lot going for it.
Dil Ruba
Writer: Qaisera Hayat
Director: Ali Hasan
Producer: Momina Duraid Productions
Schedule: Every Saturday 8 pm on HUM
If you have watched Dil Ruba’s promos and liked them then you will definitely like this first episode as well. This first episode did not work for me since there was nothing exciting about the script or the casting. Dil Ruba’s first episode focused entirely on the ‘Dil Ruba’, Hania Aamir! This first episode was a lot like that of other dramas that revolve around a strong female protagonist.
Dil Ruba promises to be a light-hearted drama. I found this first episode somewhat repetitive since so many scenes focused on the carefree and flirtatious nature of the female protagonist. Few minutes into this first episode, I wanted to see something other than that!
This first episode of Dil Ruba reminded me of the first episode of Jhooti even though the female protagonist in this drama doesn’t have a negative streak. Hania Aamir’s character is similar to the one she is playing in Ishqiya except that this one is more playful. The equation between the two sisters is also similar to the one in Ishqiya.
The sidetracks in Dil Ruba involve family politics. I did not find this first episode too appealing although I truly like Hania Aamir but I am tired of watching her playing similar roles. Hania Aamir needs to step out of her comfort zone since she is capable of playing different roles.
The dialogues and the situations in this first episode of Dil Ruba too were nothing exciting. Although, I am pretty sure that Dil Ruba has all the right ingredients to be a commercial hit. I am also wondering what happened to Mohib’s acting skills and why did he decide to take up this project since he is hardly seen on television nowadays, he should have chosen a better drama. The character he is playing is the male version of all the bechari heroines we see on screen all the time and his below-average performance isn’t helping.
Sabaat
Writer: Kashif Anwar
Director: Shehzad Kashmiri
Producer: Momina Duraid Productions
Schedule: Every Sunday 8 pm on HUM
Sabaat is the most star-studded drama in the list with not one but two leading actresses of the Pakistani drama industry in its star cast. The leading men, however, are relatively new. Usman Mukhtar is probably the biggest reason why most people watched this first episode. He did not make an appearance in the first episode which basically shows that the producers want the fans to wait for his entry!
The first episode of Sabaat was decent enough, it wasn’t the kind of episode that blows you away but it definitely had some likable elements. Since Shehzad Kashmiri has directed this drama, therefore, the fact that the opening episode was a visual treat was no surprise. This episode was a mix of some clichés and certain elements that were refreshing. The best part of this episode was that few of the characters were appealing enough to be a reason to look forward to more.
Out of all the episodes that aired this week, Sabaat’s opening episode was the most fast-paced. Some of the developments were not convincing and few performances too left a lot to be desired. This opening episode did, however, suggest that Sabaat has potential, it should not be missed.
Meher Posh
Writer: Misbah Nosheen
Director: Mazhar Moin
Producer: 7th Sky Entertainment
Schedule: Every Friday 8 pm
Out of all the first episodes which aired this week, Meher Posh was the most difficult one to sit through since there was a lot of shouting and little substance in it. It covered family politics and marriage preparations. It laid the perfect foundation for the misunderstanding which is going to be covered sooner than anticipated.
This drama was promoted a lot by the producers because it stars Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor, the real-life couple which is sharing screen space in a serial for the first time after they got married. Sania Saeed and Rehan Sheikh were another attraction for fans who trust their choices. I must say that the kind of ‘openness’ which was shown in master sahab’s house did not work for me at all.
The good thing was that for a change Ayeza Khan is being shown as a working woman. The first impression of her character wasn’t as clichéd as I had anticipated but her performance was slightly over the top. Also, it is good to see Danish Taimoor not playing the rich and spoiled man for a change.
The characters overall, however, were plain, Iffat Omer’s shouting was unbearable – this is the kind of role Saba Hameed usually plays in dramas minus the screaming! The parents’ relationship was sweet but the physical closeness was unnecessary.
This was definitely the most average first episode which aired this week. I did not like the dialogues or the treatment given to some of the leading characters. I doubt I will be tuning in to this one, which is rather sad because Danish Taimoor and Ayeza Khan could have put their star power to good use by choosing a better project to work in!
I was hoping the actual drama would be better than the teasers but it has the potential to be another Thora Sa Haq! After watching this first episode I am pretty sure Ayeza Khan should take a break or do something new.
Which first episodes did you watch this week? Which one did you like the most? Feel free to share your views.

Saree is a classic ensemble which never goes out of fashion. It has been predominantly worn in South Asia for centuries, this is the reason it is still worn in the sub-continent and is always in trend. Saree is the kind of outfit which remains the safest and smartest choice for any woman who decides to wear it, because it makes a statement without any effort. Just like eastern wear has a lot of varieties, Sarees have a huge variety too, which varies from fabric to design to the way it is draped. Irrespective of age, occasion, marital status of a woman, Saree is like a one ensemble fits all because of how classic and timeless it looks.
Pakistani celebrities have donned beautiful sarees and this is the reason every time they wear it, they make sure to share the photographs on social media because they always feel special wearing a saree. The best thing about wearing a saree is that it can be styled according to the styling preferences of the one who wears it. Sarees can be worn formally as well as casually, depending on the kind of style, fabric and designing it has.
Let’s take a look at the types of beautiful sarees that Pakistani celebrities have worn:
Floral Sarees
Floral sarees always look beautiful. They happen to be the perfect choice for summers especially because all the floral prints always work well during the spring and summer seasons. They fall in the category of casual wear but are enough to make a style statement and also make the women feel feminine and pretty.
Chiffon Sarees
Chiffon happens to be the commonly used fabric to create sarees in Pakistan. Chiffon is one such fabric which can easily hold the weight of the lightest to heaviest embellishments. Chiffon sarees are easiest to wear because they drape beautifully and accentuate the figure in the most flattering manner. The Chiffon fabric also gets dyed in every single color, this is the reason it suits everyone’s taste and they can design it the way they prefer.
Solid Colored Sarees
Solid colored sarees give the effortless look and are a statement in itself. They are made out of different fabrics and just a mono colored saree draped all over gives a complete look. The best thing about solid colored sarees is that a lot can be experimented with the styling and accessories can be added to dress it up. It gives a lot of margin for styling as one prefers.
Banarasi Sarees
Banarsi Sarees are very special and probably the most costly due to the finesse and craftsmanship that is involved in making the final product. They never go out of fashion and are worn widely by all the saree lovers. Banarsi sarees are mostly designed in such a way where a solid colored fabric is given a complete touch with thick border and beautifully designed pallu. The gold accents are what make banarasi sarees unique and special.
Casual Chic Sarees
This is a quirky and fun way to don a saree. This gives the celebrities the edge to wear it as they like and add fun and quirky styling elements like a denim jacket or a pair of sneakers or belt around the waist. The designing of these sarees is not typical and a lot of different prints are used to form these sort of sarees. However, what makes it casual chic is the way the final styling is done.
Formal Sarees
Formal Sarees are on the heavier side and they make the safest option to make a statement. They are worn on special occasions and added elements such as jewellery or sleek hairstyles and heavy makeup complete the formal look. This category has a huge variety where a lot of elements, fabrics and embellishments go into making beautiful formal sarees.
Net Sarees
Net Sarees also never go out of fashion and they are also not age specific because they give a lot of margin to be styled up or worn simply as per the personal preference. They always look beautiful and add a touch of elegance and charm to the overall look.
Blingy Sarees
Blingy Sarees are all about shimmery, sparkly and blingy embellishments which catch the eye. They also fall in the category of formal wear. Ever since the glitters and sparkles have come back in trend, saree designers have also caught onto the fashion and are now designing more such sarees. They are fit for any occasion and are bound to look good.
Monochromatic Sarees
Monochromatic Sarees are designed using a color’s gradient and that itself makes a beautiful design on the saree. Monochromatic sarees look stunning and the different shades add a touch of glam. They are usually simple in designing because the colors do all the talking and define the design of such sarees but they can always be worn formally relying on different accessories.
Retro Sarees
Retro sarees are all about bright colors and bold prints. These types of sarees do not have much embroidery or different fabrics and they are created through digital printing done over a single type of fabric. They take the inspiration from the styling of the 70’s and follow the same vibe. Bolder brighter prints always look good and make quite a statement.
This completes the list of different types of sarees worn by Pakistani celebrities. Which one of these are your favorite and which ones suit your choice the most? Feel free to share your opinion in the comment section below.

We all have a color of our choice. The color we love to wear all the time. It is the color that is our first choice for all our events. That color defines who we are. That is so true. Pakistani celebrities are sharing their videos and pictures on social media about how they are spending their quarantine days. Everyone seems to be busy doing stuff they love to do. Some are painting after a long time while many of them are doing home chores; from cleaning their messy cupboards to rearranging living rooms and cooking delicious food for the whole family.
Sharmila Faruqi, like other celebrities, shared her cooking videos over social media. Many of her followers loved to see her videos and appreciated her for entertaining them with new recipes. Most of them even tried to follow her steps. One of her latest videos went viral all over the internet because of some funny reason.
During the start of the video, Sharmila said that she was going to cook chicken fillet, but then she referred the chicken fillet as red snapper. She even talked about cutting the tail of the chicken fillet which confused the audience.
People started criticizing her that she doesn’t even know what she is actually cooking. She doesn’t know the difference between a chicken fillet and a red snapper or between garnishing and marinating. How can she teach others when she doesn’t even know the basic differences?
Reading all the memes and negative comments, Sharmila Faruqi took to her Instagram and brilliantly responded to all the trolls. She said that it was a slip of the tongue but at least it made everyone laugh in this depressing situation.

This latest episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay yet again beautifully reflected different shades of all the characters. There are of course some of the traits which are more dominant than others. So far, the characters in Pyar Ke Sadqay have been fleshed-out so remarkably well that you feel an instant connection to them. The variety of characters and scenes also adds to the appeal since the mood changes as different characters appear on-screen.
Sarwar is just as evil as he is insecure, his wife is the perfect example of a weak woman who is gullible, Mahjabeen is the perfect mix of confidence and innocence. Abdullah’s most dominant feature is his desire to please his step-father, this personality trait has proven to be the most harmful. It is also interesting the way Sarwar knows how to manipulate people. Although this character is negative but I find myself looking forward to Sarwar’s scenes because he drives the plot forward more than any other character.
Mind Games
Tonight’s episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay opened with Sarwar playing mind games with Abdullah who like always was easily influenced. Sarwar has a certain control over everyone in the house except for Washma. Washma is the only one who sees things for what they are and also has the guts to speak her mind. Pyar Ke Sadqay has some strong female characters which is another appealing aspect of this drama. Mahjabeen trying her hand at being the khidmat guzar bahu was funny and cute. Her innocence and outspoken nature stood out more than anything else. Her concept of winning her in-laws over obviously comes from whatever her mother taught her. Her obsession with Dr. Hammad continues to be amusing. She even told the cook about it even though Abdullah asked her to forget her ‘ex’!
The most powerful scenes were the one in which Mahjabeen served tea to Sarwar and later on her interaction with him when she went to get the tie. Omair Rana and Yumna Zaidi gave phenomenal performances in both these scenes. Mahjabeen’s innocence is in complete contrast to Sarwar’s conniving and evil nature. At the same time, Mahjabeen is clearly a misfit in the house because her antics are completely different. Even though she keeps on saying that she will adapt to her environment but that is definitely not going to happen anytime soon. Abdullah’s mother has failed to protect him but there are some traits of her personality which are also likable. She has accepted Mahjabeen wholeheartedly. I am glad that for a change the story is not going to be about a poor girl suffering at the hands of her in laws because of her status. Mahjabeen will suffer in the long run but everything that was shown in tonight’s episode suggested that Sarwar is going to go about it in his usual manipulative way. He dropped the tea on purpose to make Mahjabeen feel like she wasn’t capable enough, it would have been nice if there was some actual tea in the cup. Right after dropping the tea and begging Sarwar to give her passing marks, Mahjabeen did not hold back while defending Abdullah. This was also one of my favorite scenes from tonight’s episode.
Sarwar has already started intimidating Mahjabeen and is trying to control her. Mahjabeen is too innocent to understand his motives and his wife doesn’t have a clue what his intentions are since Sarwar is constantly mocking Mahjabeen in front of her. Tonight’s episode focused on Abdullah and Mahjabeen’s individual interactions with Sarwar more than their interactions with each other.
Washma’s dialogue reminding Sarwar of his background was gratifying. Shra Asghar looked great tonight and even though she got few minutes on screen but her scenes were well acted-out and meaningful. Sarwar doesn’t respond to her the way he does to everyone else. However, he took this opportunity to manipulate his wife by walking out.
The scenes at the office showed Sarwar’s insecurity. He could not bear to see Abdullah getting all that respect. The fact that Abdullah is good with numbers was used effectively in this scene. He picked up the discrepancies immediately but it did not take Sarwar long to convince him that he was incapable of supervising such matters. Bilal Abbas Khan’s performance in all these scenes was so impressive. He acts so well when Abdullah is nervous around Sarwar. The way Abdullah constantly looks for Sarwar’s approval is heart-wrenching. It is unfortunate that Mansoora turns a blind eye to all the mental and physical abuse because she is somehow convinced that she needs Sarwar in her life. She has the money and a running business but she lacks the confidence to run it on her own. And obviously she is smitten by her young and charming husband.
The scenes leading to the conversation Mahjabeen had with her aba and the conversation itself was truly heart-warming. Sarwar is a predator who plays on people’s weaknesses and he never misses his target. Mahjabeen’s father knows him only too well therefore he was able to handle the situation wisely.
Final Remarks
This was another powerful and emotional episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay packed with enough scenes to keep it light-hearted. It seldom happens that a drama makes you laugh and cry at the same time. Apart from Ranjha Ranjha Kardi, this is the only drama that has managed to do that. The performances have been outstanding and I am really impressed with the kind of versatility the leading actors have shown in this play. All these characters are complex therefore only a good team of actors could have breathed life into them. I would also give Zanjabeel Asim Shah tons of credit for penning down an exceptional script.
Will Abdullah listen to Sarwar or will Mahjabeen’s support make him a more confident individual? I am looking forward to watching more of Mahjabeen and Abdullah’s scenes together in the upcoming episode. Now that Shanzay is married, will Abdullah finally move on?
Do share your thoughts about tonight’s remarkable episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay.
