Opening Thoughts – Different From The Previous Episodes:
Ohkay so, this episode of Alif was different from all the previous episodes that we have seen so far. There were emotions but still, the way everything was conveyed is making me feel empty & there’s a void in my heart right now. I totally get that before showing how things will change in both Momin & Momina’s lives, they have given a detailed insight into their emotional & mental state, which is necessary. I am at a loss of words right now & I totally get why this episode was executed this way because now everything is about to change & we will experience the magic happening soon!
Reward & Revenge:
All of the scenes that covered Momina & her family’s mental & emotional state were done beautifully. They left me feeling overwhelmed & once again, each & every detail was executed brilliantly. Momina’s body language, her slouched shoulders, defeated gait, empty eyes & expressionless face depicted what was running through her mind. Momina is unable to feel any emotion because she has realized that everything that she felt & experienced was related to Jahangir. For so many years, Momina could not feel at peace & she could not put her mind to rest because the thought of healing & getting Jahangir treated dominated her life. Momina struggled & struggled because she knew that she had to do everything in her might to help her younger brother & because she got used to that kind of life, now with Jahangir gone, she is being forced to reform her life & she is finding it hard to do so. Momina is unable to decode what the purpose of her life is, when Jahangir was around, Momina despite beating herself up felt she had a purpose because she had the responsibility but now, she is completely lost. She has now started thinking about her parents, this way she gets to feed herself that she is still needed & she has a lot to do. Momina is dragging herself through this mayhem but yes, she is tired.
Momina tried to make things better for her parents, she decided to speak to them, get them back to normal but she failed. It makes me feel so much for her that Momina has dedicated her life to her family – everything that she feels is only related to them & while doing so, she has left herself somewhere far behind. Sultan related Jahangir’s death with the death of Husn e Jahan, he felt that the people he loved strongly passed away & that made him upset. At that moment Momina just walked away which showed that she realized that this was something that her father could not help – it was not in his control to not feel such emotions for Husn e Jahan.
Master Ibrahim & Momina’s conversation was beautiful & emotional. This was a very unique kind of catharsis for Momina, at least after hearing all those things from Master Ibrahim, Momina started thinking about her ‘rewards’. Momina has all this while felt a strong emotion for Faisal & she assumes if she’ll get to be with him, that will be her reward but she is mistaken – again a lesson that she will learn the hard way. I must say, the way Sajal Aly has elaborated all the emotions & feelings of Momina with such clarity & precision is absolutely commendable. Just by looking at her you know what she is going through, her minute expressions are actually a treat to watch because she gives away so much in such an effortless manner – this kind of portrayal of emotions is my absolute favorite & I am loving Sajal Aly’s performance as Momina.
Momin once again proved a point that he is Momin – the one who never forgives, the one who keeps grudges & never forgets. Momin humiliated Neha in front of the world whereas whatever Neha was doing was behind closed doors. She cheated quietly but Momin humiliated her publicly. Momin actually had strong emotions for Neha & that is why he was hurt but yes, he couldn’t let go off it so he thought of getting back at her. Momin actually underestimated Neha & because he is ruling the industry with his power & authority, he thought he could get away with everything & there was nothing that will ever get in his way. Neha is hurt & she wants to see Momin fail. As much as I totally feel that Momin has to taste failure in order to actually understand what real success is, I still think Neha is not in a position to be angry at Momin because she was the one who cheated on him in the first place. Momin didn’t cheat, therefore he’s in the clear!
Momin has landed himself in a scandal & with this, his life is in a downward spiral. Momin is definitely not ready but he will be faced with one situation after another which will make him question everything. Momin will be forced to reflect, introspect & he will only have a control on his life back when he will decide to change himself & this is the journey I am eager to experience.
Momin is carrying a facade & no one has actually been able to understand or decipher that there’s a vulnerable, scared & scarred Momin behind this tough looking man who shows he is very much sorted emotionally. When I saw the scene of Husn e Jahan & young Momin, I could not help but feel sad for the little child who was getting to hear his mother’s confession. For a child, his first superheroes are his parents but Momin’s father showed him that he was a coward who ran away & his mother herself confessed that she was not an ideal parent for him & this is something that a child can’t even imagine. Young Momin was trying hard to figure out things at a very tender age & he found his mother admitting that she was a failure, even if she hadn’t said all of that, he was observant, he was wise for his age to actually see his mother dying a slow-death every single day. Momin hates the fact that everyone idealizes Husn e Jahan for her beauty, fame, success because he has seen her at her lowest, when she just yearned for love & togetherness of her husband, where her status, the love of her fans didn’t matter to her at all – what did was Taha’s affection & sadly, that was the only thing that she didn’t get.
Momin looking at his mother’s picture showed that behind such strong emotions, he was still a little child who missed his mother, who was upset at the sad life that she had lead. This goes to show that Momin has bottled up all these feelings for so long that he has actually forgotten why he feels this way. His time away in Turkey will allow him to untangle his thoughts, paint a clear picture & actually realize where does this anger actually come from & for what? Momin has a lot of sorting to do & it will be interesting to see him doing that.
Closing Thoughts – All Over The Place, In a Good Way:
Overall, this episode of Alif was interesting & I liked how it was all over the place because I can totally see that things are going to follow a sequence with Momina trying to take charge of her life & Momin being on a quest of finding himself & the ‘seedha rasta’ that Abdul Alla spoke about. Momin will find himself landing in trouble which will eventually lead him to realize how meaningless all these things are that he had been chasing most of his life. At this point I am actually looking forward to Momina & Momin’s meeting the most but I do like how things are being built up. I must say the background music in all the scenes is spot on because it plays such a huge role in making an impact & adding more meaning to the situation. The sad music used in the scene where Momina spoke about Jahangir with her friend added more emotion to it. Hamza Ali Abbasi has breathed life into Momin’s character – every expression, every emotion has been conveyed brilliantly. Momin is a very complex character & to portray it with such finesse shows Hamza Ali Abbasi’s calibre as an actor. Pehlaaj Hussain is brilliant & his presence adds a different layer of emotion in all of his scenes. Saleem Mairaj’s performance in this episode was outstanding, a father who lost his son & a fan who lost his idol, those emotions were jumbled up but were coming from the same place – a place of loss & heartbreak. Alif so far has been a well-directed, well-executed & brilliantly acted drama which has thought-provoking dialogues & such situations that strike a chord. I can not wait to see the rest of the journey. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Alif.
Mere Pass Tum Ho’s screenplay and its direction is turning out to be the best element of this drama. Nadeem Baig deserves tons of credit for directing some of the scenes in this episode in such a manner that they had an element of suspense about them. This episode was not as emotional as the previous one but it showed character growth and had some important developments to its credit. I am certain most of the viewers like me were waiting to see Mehwish more than Danish since everyone must have been curious to find out how her life was after ‘marriage’! I mentioned this in my previous review as well that Mehwish did not for a second think about the fact that Shahwar never talked about marriage. It was actually quite apparent that he had no intention of marrying her but Mehwish was so keen on being with him that she never thought on these lines. Danish’s character completely changed in this episode and I must say that it was quite unsettling to watch him turn into a different person altogether.
Rumi and Danish
The scene between Rumi and Danish was one of the most meaningful scenes in this episode. Danish’s body language and his conversation with Rumi showed how much he had changed. This was the same father who treasured the time he spent with his son but now he did not even get up to hug him even though they were meeting after weeks or perhaps months. Danish’s conversation with Mateen sahib summed up how much Rumi had changed in these few months in the absence of his mother. I found this depiction close to reality since kids sometimes suffer more than anyone else when a marriage falls apart. In this case, Mehwish abandoned Rumi and Danish clearly was no longer emotionally available for him therefore like any other young kid his age, he decided to choose a path which would allow him to be away from people who obviously let him down.
It was sad watching a father expect so much from a child who deserved nothing but love. If Mehwish failed as a mother then Danish too has not been able to play the role he should have played in Rumi’s life. This scene showed how much resentment Rumi felt and at the same time he did not want to disappoint his father. The dialogues regarding how he would prove to be the son Danish could take pride in were a bit hard to digest coming from a 7 year old. The child star playing Rumi acted exceptionally well in this scene.
Danish and Mateen sahib
Danish and Mateen sahib’s friendship was the highlight of this episode. Some of their conversations were a little bit long but in the end when Mateen sahib passed away these conversations made perfect sense since these were the last few interactions they were going to have together. Whatever Mateen sahib said to Danish sounded like all those questions and thoughts that would have been in the mind of the viewers watching the episode. Through their first conversation, the writer conveyed how things had changed in these past few months. I am glad the story started few months after Mehwish left because otherwise the pace of the drama would have slowed down.
Danish’s dialogue about how a man felt when the woman he loved was faithful to him and how he felt when that woman was no longer loyal to him has to be the best way to sum up the change in his character. Until the previous episode money meant nothing to Danish but now he is more than willing to sell his apartment and take risks in order to get rich. His bigger aim could be taking revenge from Shahwar. The viewers saw a completely different side of Danish, he wants to get rich but he is also being smart about it. He is not in a rush and is waiting to get the best price for his apartment.
Muhammad Ahmed acted exceptionally well in the scene covering Mateen sahib’s life story. I couldn’t help but wonder why he never mentioned that he had a daughter. It took him quite a while to reveal details about his personal life to Danish and when he did, he didn’t have time to tell more. The regret and the guilt he felt was apparent from this scene.
Enter Hania – Hira Mani
Many people had already predicted that Hania was going to be Rumi’s teacher and Mateeb sahib’s daughter therefore there were no surprises there. The introduction to this character was quite short and the manner in which Hania ‘judged’ Danish’s decision to put Rumi in boarding was confusing. Why have a boarding for kids Rumi’s age if you are going to judge their parents for putting them there?! Danish and Hania met outside the school in the end but not in the best circumstances. Waiting to see how these two interact in the upcoming episodes.
Shahwar and Mehwish
Mehwish and Shahwar were shown having a grand time. All these months they had been travelling and enjoying themselves. Their conversation revealed that they had not been married and Shahwar had no plans to get married either. His take on relationships didn’t come as a surprise since he never talked about marriage even before. It also wasn’t surprising that Mehwish was willing to go along with Shahwar’s decisions since she was completely smitten by Shahwar’s lifestyle and personality even before too and found it hard to say no! Mehwish has always come across as a naive woman. The only man she was ever with was Danish therefore she clearly has no clue that there are men who would shower a woman with praises and money but will not give her the kind of commitment she wants. Mehwish and Shahwar’s scene was short but it made their relationship status quite clear.
Final Remarks
I must say that this episode was not as powerful as some of the previous episodes of Mere Pass Tum Ho but it laid down the foundations for what is coming ahead. The changes in Danish’s personality will change the course of his life and I am glad Rumi was given so much screen time. Although Danish’s main concern right now is making money but most of his conversations revolved around Rumi. Mateen sahib was an interesting character who helped Danish in his most difficult times by lending an ear, he will be missed. Muhammad Ahmed’s performance tonight was remarkable. Shamim Hilali also performed really well in this episode and made her presence felt.
I was watching the first few episodes of Mere Pass Tum Ho again this week and I must commend the actors for changing their looks in such a manner that you actually feel like they have ‘grown’. Especially the difficult times Danish has gone through show on his face, as if he has aged! Humayun Saeed looked completely different in the first few episodes with a clean shave and shorter hair. Ayeza Khan too has changed her looks with time.
The preview of the next episode was intense, looking forward to it.

When one goes on the trip, they sure don’t want to get sick and spend time just coughing and sneezing. Its better to prevent sick by a few tips which we have here for you:
Avoid tap water
Water is one of the basic necessities of our lives but drinking unfiltered tap water may not suit everyone. If you go on a trip to a foreign country or a different city in your country and see people drinking tap water on a regular basis, well, think twice before following their suit. Since the locals have been drinking it forever, it might suit them but not you. This is because there’s different kinds of bacteria found in water around the world. Bacteria affects the immune system and those who drink unfiltered water daily would be used to it and not affected by it. People who have weak stomachs need to be careful in this regard.
Purchase bottled mineral water from the shops in order to avoid getting sick while travelling overseas or even domestic for that matter. Moreover, also be vigilant of using glasses sitting in your hotel room, especially if they aren’t properly wrapped or at least covered. It’s always better to be on the safe side and wash glasses and cups before using them as bacteria is easily transfered. Similarly, eating fruits and raw vegetables washed in tap water is also a big no.
Carry medicines with you
While you’re travelling you should carry basic medicines with you such as those for headaches, cramps or fever. You never know when you would get sick.
Additionally get shots for any diseases you might be prone to during the season such as malaria, etc.
Stay hydrated during your trip
Dehydration can affect your mood, memory and motor skills, it can also lead to a severe case of sweating, diarrhoea and vomiting as your body needs water to maintain its temperature.
Many people avoid drink too much fluid for the fear of using public restrooms (another bacteria prone area). Staying hydrated helps our body to function properly and prevents sickness. While on a trip, one should opt for water, fresh juices or milk based drinks such as shakes, etc. Soft drinks and caffeine such as coffees and teas are not an ideal source of hydration to the body. One should also not be in direct sunlight too much as it can cause several problems and dehydration. Always carry a water bottle by your side during your trip to prevent illness while travelling.
Avoid eating food at unhygienic places
If you go to eat at a restaurant and it’s deserted, you’d know the food won’t be worth it. Furthermore, by looking around at the cleanliness levels , you would be easily able to tell if you should be eating there or not. Food poisoning is a common illness when one travels abroad so be extra vigilant during your vacation.
Carry hand sanitizers
Carry a hand sanitizer and anti bacterial wipes with you on your trip as they are able to eliminate a good percentage of germs. You never know when you touch anything dirty, you would need to sanitize immediately.

Being socially active and interaction with people living in your community, apartment or society shows a kind gesture towards people who’ve just moved in. Here’s essential tips on how to be a good neighbor:
Introduce yourselves
When your neighbors move into your locality, start off by becoming friendly and introducing yourself to them. On the other hand, if you’re the one who has moved into the locality, get around to knowing who lives in the area, apartment or society. By initiating conversation, you’ll put people at ease and hope to warm them up to a new place. But make sure not to be too nosy or over friendly with new people around. Offer a helping hand by baking or cooking some nice food for the new people.
Don’t push people to become friends with you, just introduce yourself, tell them where you live and if they ever need you, they can simply contact you or come over to yours.
Help your new neighbors
Offer to help your neighbors in any way you can, you could help carry their groceries or set up their new home or offer to drive them around to nearby places in the initial stages of setting up their new home. Once they’ve set up, ask them about their well being from time to time, go over offering help if they need any but remember not to be nosy again.
Keep sharing spaces clean
One of the key tips of being a good and caring neighbor is to keep shared spaces clean. Many of us are the first ones to criticise our neighbors at the first sight of mismanagement or lack of maintenance but refuse to do our part in keeping our surroundings clean. Being a part of society or living in shared communties, one should be wary of keeping the surrounding clean and hygienic.
Don’t throw trash in public spaces, avoid keeping your trash bins in the passage where they’ll bother your neighbours with the smell, and sweep your section of the hallway or stairs every few days. If you’re sharing washing machines, be sure to clean the dryers every time you’re doing using them. Also, don’t hound the machines for your own usage doing loads and loads of laundry.
Don’t be a noisy neighbor
Sure you love to have your music loud at times, but remember never to disrupt someone’s peace and quiet during this time. This is quite essential for those residing in apartments but also implies to those who live in houses. Someone might have an exam or just simply be put off of loud noises. Keeping your neighbours in the loop will help you maintain friendly relations with them while enjoying your evening.
This doesn’t just apply to parties, though. Even on a daily basis, avoid keeping the television or music volume too high, avoid noisy repairs at odd hours, and keep your quarrels within your own walls.
Invite them on special occasions
Remembering your neighbours on special occasions is one way of sharing your happiness with them and ensuring that they’ll be there to support you in your bad times. Don’t do it for the sake of receiving something in return, though. Even if your gesture is not returned, sharing your happiness with them is the right thing to do.

Appearing for a job interview can be a daunting and intimidating experience for some. Here’s a list to help you get prepared beforehand to land you the job:
Do a background check on the company you’ve applied for
Once you’ve been shortlisted for an interview by a company you have applied for, you must know what the company exactly does. Do a quick google search on the company and once you find their website, start reading up on the company. It is obvious that all businesses these days have their own websites but they also have social media handles one can skim through. It isn’t much of a hassle researching on a job before an interview. Once you have landed on the website, you can go through their “About Us” section to read up on the company’s history. Moreover, you might get a chance to read on their news and media sections as well. Knowing about a company becomes a bonus point for the prospective applicant and lands one in the company’s good books as well.
Research on the key position holders of the company
One of the other important things to research about a company while preparing for an interview includes knowing who the key players in that organization are. This many include senior position holders in the company such as the directors, project managers or the head of the position you’ve applied for. Most of the names are listed on the website or if they’re famous you might even know of them. It would tell them you have thoroughly researched and are well informed about the company you hope to be working for in the future. You never know as you move ahead in the job, you would even meet or work with some of the higher key position holders.
Know about the position you’ve applied for
Research up on the position you’ve applied for and what the work would demand from you. This will help get your mind prepared about what key skills you need to put in your cover letter and initially in the job.
Hiring managers would be asking you at the end of the interview about how you can contribute to the role, so it’s best to let them know how and why you’re an ideal candidate for the job.
Competitors and clients of the company
While you would learn about the company, it would be best to know who their customers are as well. Most major clients are listed on the company website. Also knowing about the competitors of the company will make a good impression on your interviewer.
Contact people who already work for the company
You can search online and ask people who already work for the company or have worked there about their experiences. They can guide you through the interview process and let u know of the work culture thus getting your mind ready for what is to come ahead.

In a number of previous interviews, Hira had shared that her character, Hania would be paired opposite Humayun Saeed, so we can safely guess that she’ll definitely be filling the void left in Danish’s life after Mehwish takes off with Shahwar.
In a BTS video released by ARY Digital, Hira Mani is seen stating how her character in Meray Pass Tum Ho is a very strong one.
“Hania’s character is that of a very strong girl, one that I can relate to in my real life as well. Hania believes in her principles and her rules that govern her life. In fact its very similar to how I am in my life, a soft hearted girl. H for Hira and H for Hania, you’ll like this character very much,” stated Hira Mani.
Last week’s episode showed Mehwish leaving Danish to live with Shahwar. Danish has divorced Mehwish and now Roomi needs to learn of the truth between his father and mother. What will happen with the little kid? Will he be able to accept the reality or will this break his personality, scarring him for life? What role will Hania play in Roomi and Danish’s life. All waits to be seen now in the upcoming episodes of Meray Pass Tum Ho.

Oh wow, what a brilliant, interesting & happening episode of Ishq Zahe Naseeb. I am so glad that the pace of this drama has remained perfect throughout & now with the drama in its final stages, all the episodes have so much to offer & are covering all the characters & their tracks, simply superb. This episode like the previous episode was perfect & so engaging. Farooq Rind should be very proud of himself & Hashim Nadeem too. Ishq Zahe Naseeb is the kind of drama that has not been seen by the audience before & the popularity of it is not only well-deserved but gives a message to all the other drama-makers that the audience is oh-so ready to watch dramas like these. Ishq Zahe Naseeb keeps you engaged & keeps you guessing as well. Once again, this episode ended hinting about some ‘raaz’ & no, I am not thinking about it…but yes, I think I am.
Sameer’s Mental State:
The highlight of this episode was definitely Gauhar & Sameer’s engagement. This commitment is difficult for Gauhar, it has been shown right from the beginning but I loved how they gave an insight into all the emotions that Sameer was going through – all of which was flawlessly portrayed by Zahid Ahmed. Each & every emotion, every single thought running through Sameer’s mind was clear. As much as Sameer wants to commit himself to Gauhar for the rest of his life, this transition is emotionally & mentally very difficult for him. All this while Sameer has stayed in his comfort zone, being Sameer & Sameera – with no one to question him or the existence of his other personality but now, as much as he is ready for the next phase of his life, he is finding it hard to accept that things are going to change for him. As much as Sameer is happy, he is equally upset & sad because he knows that Gauhar is going to replace Sameera – this is something that he has opted for himself but once again, considering how he has stayed in that bubble for years, it is absolutely natural for him to feel a little threatened. The way Sameer looked at the engagement ring showed that while Gauhar had all the things running through her mind, for Sameer it was a lot more that he was hiding, trying to achieve & getting himself mentally prepared for the change. Sameer wants validation of Gauhar, he has always shown that eagerness to feel emotionally validated & now when things are finally shaping up in Sameer’s favor – the Sameera in him is frightened.
Sabeeha is forced to think a lot more about the things she has done in the past. The more Sameer ignores her, the more she feels guilty. I kind of enjoyed seeing how the tables have turned, Sabeeha has always guilt-tripped Sameer to an extent where she literally controlled him completely but now just one sentence from Sameer has her feeling guilty. Sabeeha obviously is not the kind who will give up but she did look dejected & helpless – may be she has realized that the ship has sailed & she can not do anything to turn things around.
Finally, Akbar & Gauhar’s conversation put things into perspective. Akbar is biological brother of Surraiya Begum, Sameer’s mother, which makes him Sameer’s uncle but because Ehsan didn’t want Surraiya to have anything to do with her poor family, Akbar has kept this a secret. Oh well, that dialogue immediately reminded me of the things Sameer said to Saleem. Does Sameer take it after his father – where he just wants to be with Gauhar but is also very much aware of the class difference between himself & her? Looks like Sameer can’t help it but he definitely takes it after his father, however it is nice to see that he has not once made Gauhar feel that way. I guess Sameer said all those things to Saleem to draw a line right from the beginning because he can totally see what a mooch he is.
Kashif connected the dots, he saw that the gift Donia got was picked up by Gauhar for obvious reasons. Gauhar let Kashif know that she has moved on & has now handed Kashif over to Donia & this was something that she wanted Kashif to accept as soon as he could to spare them the misery. This is what I love about Ishq Zahe Naseeb the most where without saying a word, the entire picture is painted with such beauty. Kashif knew that this was Gauhar’s way of letting him know that she is very much happy for him to be with someone else. Sameer also got the same necklace for Gauhar, which I feel was a bit too much of a coincidence which could’ve been skipped but chalo, it’s alright!
My favorite scenes of this episode hands down where those which covered Sameer’s mental state as Sameera – upset, sad, helpless, unassertive & just unable to deal with the change. It was intelligent of the writer to actually show the emotional storm that Sameer was faced with, since he has relied on Sameera & her thoughts to find solace & comfort, he was actually now getting ready to let go of it, so showing his mental state was beautiful in a way that they made us connect with Sameer’s character a lot more & made us feel for him at the same time. Simply beautiful. Those scenes did not even for a second seem disturbing, rather only made me feel sad that Sameer will have to readjust & this is something that he will get to learn alongside Gauhar – if she will accept this part of him, which is another misery & question that is at the back of Sameer’s mind!
Closing Thoughts – Perfection In Every Sense:
This was one perfect & beautiful episode of Ishq Zahe Naseeb. I kind of feel sad for Sameer because it is taking a lot for him to bring Gauhar in his life & now before he will get to experience the happiness of this companionship, Jahangir will make sure to destroy it because he got a picture of Gauhar & Kashif. It was definitely nice that Gauhar got to say what was in her heart & she felt light but Kashif is obviously not going to take it the way Gauhar wants. Gauhar went to get a closure but Kashif will once again see it as an opportunity to rekindle the old affair where circumstances played a huge role in drifting them apart. I feel at this point Sameer might go a little wrong (I so hope not) because while he himself is hiding such a big secret & would expect Gauhar to be completely understanding of him, he himself won’t be able to take it when he will find out that Gauhar was involved with Kashif. Sameer keeps on asking Gauhar whether she is happy, as if he is trying to feel validated again & again. Sonya Hussyn looked absolutely gorgeous in the engagement scenes. Gauhar has learned to smile through hardships, that is why as much as she felt her heart was about to explode after her engagement to Sameer, she just smiled & had a moment to finally let it sink in that this was a reality that she had to accept. Yumna Zaidi has such short scenes but she has made all of them quite impactful with her stares & gazes. There’s so much emotion & sadness in her eyes – which actually reflects the way Sameer perceives Shakira because he knows she died a sad & tragic death. This display of emotion is so strong, convincing & absolutely beautiful. Zahid Ahmed as Sameera was beyond brilliant in this episode. I also really liked Sami Khan in the scene when Kashif finds out that Gauhar never made it to the court that day – it was like he felt a huge burden off his shoulders because all this while he held himself responsible for betraying Gauhar but now he knew they both made the same selfless decision for the sake of their families. Direction, story-telling, dialogues, vibe & the feel of all the scenes – spot on. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Ishq Zahe Naseeb.

As the weather turns cold, our skin tends to get dry. For this purpose, we need to take extra care of our skin while making changes to our skin care routine. Here’s a few tips for you to be extra vigilant and caring for your skin:
Cleanse with cream cleansers instead of gel ones
Gel cleansers will only dry up your skin more so it’s better to replace them with cream ones. In winters, we should be extra careful not to strip our skin of essential oils.
Use sheet masks for extra moisture
Choose sheet masks which contain shea butter or rejuvenating ingredients that would soak into the skin and give it the moisture they need during winter time.
Use store bough or DIY face masks
Store bought or DIY face masks are packed with essentials such as vitamins which combat skin problems effectively. Face masks can get rid of dullness, blackheads, congestion and other skin related problems. These are an absolute must in winters.
Moisturize religiously
Moisturize daily and almost at every interval when your skin starts feeling dry. Invest in richer creams and ditch the light weight creams which are more essential for the summers.
Invest in a moisturizing toner
Switch up liquid based toners to cream ones for hydrating your skin in the colder weather. Cream toners won’t dry up the skin and will work well on pores. Use a clarifying toner for oil skin while a hydrating one for dry or combination skin.
Use a serum daily
Serums are absolutely essential for hydration and combat skin related issues quite effectively. Many serums contain active ingredients to make the skin alive and feeling moisturized, hydrated and fresh in the cold winters.
Replace lipsticks with lip balms
Unlike skin, lips do not produce essential oils which are needed for moisturization. Try replacing lipsticks with lip balms in the colder weather. You can also buy tinted lip balms from the shops which work well as replacements for lipsticks.
Make use of sunscreen
Although we get less sun in the winters, that does not mean we should ditch sunscreens altogether. Sunscreens contain Vitamin E which is essential for repairing and protecting the skin against the harmful rays of the sun. Additionally, it also keeps skin moisturized all day.
Don’t ignore the scalp
During winters, our scalp gets dry and starts to produce dandruff which can look extremely bad and show up on our clothes (since we start wearing more darker colors for keeping warm). As much as we take care of our skin, taking care of the scalp is equally important. Use a DIY hair mask or store bought ones for keeping your scalp moisturized and essential oils intact.
After delivering a critically acclaimed family drama with Cake, director Asim Abbasi is now all set to tap the world of web series in Pakistan.
Taking to his Twitter, the director, announced his web series Churails, which as he says will shatter a number of stereotypes in the society.
“Hojayein tayaar, khwateen aur hazraat. Especially hazraat. Jald arahi hain kuch rangeen Churailein, aapki deep-rooted misogyny ki band bajaanay,” states the caption.
Earlier Asim Abbasi shared how it had been a very tough experience for him to create the web series.
“500+ script pages, 150+ locations, 100+ characters, 75+ days of principal photography…. And finally it’s a wrap!
Thank you to everyone who was a part of this insane journey – a journey that broke all of us into a million little pieces, physically, mentally and emotionally. I don’t know if the blood, sweat and tears will show on screen or if the end result will be what we had hoped it would be or if our audiences are even ready for this narrative… But this much I do know:
a) hundreds of people have worked tirelessly for better part of this year, to help craft and visualise this story and I am indebted to each and every one of them.
b) every female character in this series will kick some serious douchebag ass and be shamelessly unapologetic. Just like the good lord intended,” wrote the director on his Instagram.
Currently talking to Images, Asim Abbasi also added, “I am super excited about Churails. It has been creatively such a liberating experience for me, to tell this story as unabashedly as it needs to be told. The web series is expected to release on an international platform, most probably in the first quarter of next year. Cast will be revealed in due time.”

Our society has set some beauty standards and we are forced to fit in those standards to look beautiful. Dark skinned girls are often criticized for simply being dark and they are forced to use fairness creams.
Amna Ilyas in an interview talked about her experience as a dark-skinned girl and what she has faced.
“No matter how sons look like but our mothers say our daughters-in-law must be pure white. When I was growing up my aunts, cousins, commented on me that I am black because of going to school and told me about remedies. People don’t realize how sensitive this matter is and what kind of impact it can leave on someone’s mind,” Amna shared.
“There was a time when I was also using fairness creams but then I realized this is not good. The thing that matters is healthy skin,” Amna revealed.
She shared her experience in the industry and said, “For instance, if I had to do a lawn campaign my makeup artists used to do two tones lighter makeup and then with the help of photoshop they used to make it more brighter. Sometimes when I used to see those photos I felt like that’s not me.”
Here’s Amna’s interview in which she shares her experience with BBC Urdu:

Verna’s story revolved around Sara (Mahira Khan) and Aami (Haroon Shahid). Sara and Aami were a happily married couple whose life is turned upside down when she is raped and sent back. Sara wants justice while Aami wants to start afresh. The film then followed Sara’s struggle to get her culprit brought behind bars which seemed highly impossible since he was the governor’s son.
Verna brought about some good performances from Mahira Khan and Zaraar khan. The film, delivered a powerful message bringing across the real face of a number of institutions in the country. Now, getting its world television premiere, the film will again be able to hit the chord with the masses, delivering the right message that ought to raise awareness about rape and its survivor in the society.
