Momina Mustehsan has seen a fair share of limelight after her debut with Coke Studio. Since then, her every move is accounted for and every project that she signs dissected in the media. Recently, she has grabbed a music video and will be seen acting throughout the song in a trendy setting.

As you can see in the snippet taken out of the video, Mustehsan has her hair parted with 70s band and chic glasses. The car is no less a masterpiece in terms of adding to the setting. Momina is currently shooting this music video for Cornetto Pop Rock Season 2 alongside Hassan Rizvi. Rizvi is the ace choreographer and the brainchild of BodyBeats Dance And Recreational Centre, and is the main force behind Pop Rock. We don’t know if she will also be using the power of her vocals in the song or not, but all we are sure is that this music video is definitely going to be different with Momina Mustehsan stepping up her appearance in the industry.

Na Maloom Afrad 2 is going to release on the first day of Eid-ul-Azha. The anticipation is already mounting after the success of its first installment. After Kaif-o-Suroor and its ultimate success, the movie makers have released another song of the film titled, ‘Chal Hug Lay’, and has termed it as the party anthem of the year.

In the song, Mohsin Abbas Haider, Fahad Mustafa and Javed Sheikh are grooving on the beats of the song at beach. Have a look:

Though we have good expectations with the movie, the song seems too culturally inappropriate and forced Indian copy. It could easily be said that the makers were inspired by ‘Jawaani Phir Nahi Aaani’, which had similar sort of beach celebratory song.

At first we can’t come up with our own content and then we are openly leading our generation towards vulgar music. This doesn’t seem acceptable at all. At this point, we can only wish that film producers and directors come out of such obscene tactics and make the content refreshing in terms of appeal.

Fahad Mirza and Sarwat Gillani, the power couple of Pakistan have done a lot of work in the fields individually. Fahad being a plastic surgeon and an actor and Sarwat being a seasoned actress who has nailed many different kind of characters in her shoebox journey. This time, however they have joined forces. They are all set to appear on screen in a romantic telefilm “Do Dilon Ki Dillagi” to be aired in a short series of episodes.

The director of the play is Kashif Saleem. It is certainly going to be fun to watch the couple play romantic leads against eachother on Tv after having been husband and wife for many years, and having a newborn and a two year old at home.

The ongoing Amir Khan and Faryal Makhdoom drama is well-known. The couple fought on twitter and finally Amir announced that they are splitting on his Snapchat. Faryal however had claimed that their accounts were hacked. Faryal has now made a video on her Snapchat and has answered all the controversy through her angle. She still maintains that atleast her account was hacked and all this has happened due to nazr e bad of others. Those who watched Janaan in cinemas were teased to Hareem Farooq’s upcoming movie ‘Parchi’. Joining forces for a comedy movie, Hareem Farooq and Imran Kazmi are back with the teaser of this movie.

Parchi is directed by Azfar Jafri, who was also one of the main brains behind Janaan. Hareem who was one of the producers will be assuming the main lead in this movie alongside Ali Rehman Khan. And from this teaser, we can summon that Imran Kazmi is going to play some sort of antagonist in a funny way? Believe so.

After watching the teaser, there are multiple things that are coming up in our mind. While it seems that Hareem is going to be some sort of a thug, with all the beating up Imran Kazmi and toothpick in her mouth, her avatar tells otherwise. She mouths Punjabi sentences in a way which don’t seem natural. But, who are we to judge. Right? On the onset, she definitely looks a breath of fresh air while coming out of her typical look.

As far as we know this movie is going to be a comedy, but with a deep and serious message to be imparted. This remains to be seen with the impending teasers and full trailer of the movie. Atif Aslam has proved his mettle as a singer plus actor. After singing for a long time, his debut with Shoaib Mansoor’s ‘BOL’ was terrific. But, he was not the only one who made his debut on silver screen with this movie. Mahira Khan also made her entry to Pakistani cinema with BOL, and since then there is no stopping her fame.

Now, there is a twist in the story. Atif Aslam has claimed that he is the one due to which Mahira was introduced in films. In a recent interview with a local channel, Be Inteha singer said that Shoaib Mansoor, director of BOL, gave him the liberty to choose an actress opposite him in the film. He was given three options, out of which he put Mahira first and told Mr. Mansoor to cast her in the movie.

He further added that the Zaalima actress was junior at that time, therefore chances of her being in cast without his favour were very slim. It seems that Aslam has finally put down his bait that Khan’s success is due to his big favour given years ago.

Atif Aslam also appreciated all the Pakistani actress who are working abroad, but claimed that Saba Qamar outdid all and was exceptional in ‘Hindi Medium’. 

Shamim Ara is a big name of Pakistani Film Industry. Her birth name was Putli Bai but she worked in films under the stage name Shamim Ara. Shamim worked in many films including Doraha, Devdas and Qaidi. Her acting career spans from late 50’s to 70’s. She also worked as a director and producer and made many films.Though she married four times but had only one son Salman Majid Carim who is settled in UK.

Shamim had moved to UK with her son in her last years. She came back to Pakistan for a visit but her health deteriorated further and was taken back to UK for medical attention. She remained ill for about 6 years and left this mortal world on 5th August 2016 in a hospital in UK. Today marks her first death anniversary. May her soul rest in peace!

Boxer Amir Khan is parting ways with wife of four years Faryal Makhdoom. An ugly twitter row happened between the couple yesterday. Though after some time Faryal claimed that both of their accounts were compromised (hacked) on Snapchat. The final blow came when Amir made a video on his Snapchat that the divorce is happening and they both will walk away from their unhealthy relationship.

A source has claimed that Faryal got in touch with Amir later at night after the twitter war and her family got in touch with Khan’s family in Bolton to convince them that Amir should reconcile with Faryal for their two year old daughter Lamaisah. Faryal told Amir that they should announce that their accounts were hacked and use the excuse to get away with the controversy. The source further told:

Amir stood his ground and told her that it was over and that he had mentally decided to move on from her and that he was unable to take it anymore.

He hung up on her and when she texted again with threatening messages, he released video message to put an end to it all.

Allegedly Faryal also told Khan that they are not officially divorced as Amir has not said Talaaq to her three times on which Amir texted her ‘talaaq, talaaq, talaaq’ according to the source.

The couple has definitely gone out of hands and has washed their dirty laundry out in public!

Coke Studio is back with season 10. As for previous years Coke Studio always opens with a patriotic song. This time however Coke Studio chose to chorus the National Anthem. All the line up has participated in performing the Anthem. Many people are naturally impressed with the performance as it is our National Anthem. Punjab Nahi Jaungi is surpassing all its recent competitor movies regarding grandiosity in teaser releases and promotions. The movie starring Humayun Saeed, Mehwish Hayat, Urwa Hocane and Ahmed Ali Butt will be releasing on Eid ul Azha.

Today Ary Films released its new video song ae dil from the movie. Its lyrics are written by Shakeel Sohail and sung by Shiraz Uppal and Junita Gandhi. The song is picturised on Mehwish and Humayun and is showing both of them lost in their own thoughts. Humayun is in the rural fields of Punjab and Mehwish is an urban city, most probably out of Pakistan, but the song is connecting them to eachother, making them dream and wish for the budding love story between them ;

The much liked onscreen couple Sana Javed and Feroz Khan have teamed up once again for 7th Sky Entertainment’s Romeo Weds Heer. The play is written by Dr Muhammad Younis Butt and directed by Anjum Shehzad, and it has Feroz Khan as Romeo and Sana Javed as Heer.

The drama is a romantic comedy and its lead pair have already collaborated for upcoming play Khaani and Mehreen Jabbar’s untitled telefilm.

Feroz and Sana’s mutual chemistry is being appreciated much these days.

The Pakistani Academy Selection Committee has invited all the local filmmakers to submit their nominations for impending Oscars. The movie will be selected in the “Foreign Language Film Award” Category at the 90th Academy Awards.

Films have been a good topic in the country in recent past. Some very good topics with strong cast and characters have started to flow in. This is why it is going to be the fourth consecutive year in which Pakistan is going to submit its nomination.

Previously, “Zinda Bhaag” was finally nominated in Oscars in 2013, while “Dukhtar” was submitted in 2014, “MOOR” in 2015, and “Mah-e-Mir” in 2016.

Pakistan’s committee has opened the submissions for all the filmmakers for reviewing, and it will close on 20th August, 2017 at 5PM. The nomination will be finalized and announced on September, for where it will go to Academy for reviewing.

All we can do is wish that we bring another Golden Lady home this year.

The advent of social media and social platforms have provided us with opportunities to speak out our mind to the world. No one can argue that it has worked for the betterment of many, even sometimes helped in situations concerning missing persons.

Another positive aspect of social media is that it has brought us closer to our favourite celebriteis. Few days back Zarnish Naveed, a 7 year old girl was abducted in front of her house from Bahria Town Rawalpindi. Her parents heard her screams and followed the abductors on foot but since they were on a motorbike; they succeeded in getting away with the girl. Her family took to social media and appealed people to support them and share Zarnish’s picture as much as they can so the family can find her. People soon after started sharing her picture and news feeds were flooded by appeals for finding Zarnish.

Great news is Zarnish has been found today and she is back with her family. One of her family members shared this picture and we are more than happy. Highlighting the issue helped in such haste recovery of the little girl. We are very happy that social media was used positively by the masses and a family is reunited with their angel. Each season, Coke Studio brings all the artists of the show to sing one national song and this year, the 40 artists of Coke Studio season 10 will be recreating our national Anthem! In the past, we saw over 20 singers sing the famous national songs like ‘Sohni Dharti’ and ‘Ay Rahay Haq Ke Shaheedon’ .

Some of those musicians that are to sing ‘Pak Sir Zameen’ include the likes of Sajjad Ali, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Farhan Saeed, Ali Zafar, Shafqat Amanat Ali, Ali Noor, Ali Hamza, Ali Sethi and Quratulain Balouch. This patriotic song will be produced by Strings themselves.

A national anthem of any country is an integral part of its identity. Whenever a country gains its freedom or independence, one of the first things established is a national anthem. A national anthem signifies the Nation’s status. It brings out strong feelings of pride, loyalty, dedication, allegiance and patriotism.

Pakistani film turned drama actress Resham has seen her fair share of good times. Once throbbing Pakistani film industry witnessed her escalation as an actress; later on becoming the charm of TV. But, she has disappeared from both silver screen since a very long time.

Recently, the famed actress of her time revealed that she doesn’t wish to work on every film script that comes her way. Resham is going to prefer only selective scripts to work onto. She further said that initially her fame was through once thriving Pakistani film industry. But, now she wants to work on films and projects that will always be remembered by her fans.

Talking about her current TV serial ‘Nagin’, which is the rip-off of an Indian drama serial going by the same name, Resham said that she is currently busy with it and the audiences are much enjoying her role and acting.
