Pakistan-born American actor Faran Tahir is riding high on success. With his up and coming three big Hollywood blockbusters, we are sure that he will soon be on the top charts among the American actors. He has bagged three projects together and is currently working on them.
Faran will be starring in a movie Mindhack: #Savetheworld, which was earlier named as The Mad Genius Project. Other than this, he is part of an amazing cast of two different Television series; The Magicians and Shameless.
As far as the movie is concerned, Mindhack: #Savetheworld, it is based on science fiction where a young mad genius and his imaginary friend are keen to save the world. He does so by hacking the human mind. And no wonders, Faran will be playing the antagonist or villain of the movie – Eden. The movie is currently in post production and the launch date is yet to be announced.
On the other hand, Shameless is a remake of British comedy-drama and is a hilarious story of dysfunctional family. Alongside the original cast, Faran is shooting for the 8th season of the show. While, The Magicians is going to be a fantasy series and is based on the novel by Less Grossman. The third season, starring Faran, is currently being shot and will air in 2018.
Regardless of the work load and the big names attached to the projects, Faran Tahir has succeeded in bringing out his individuality in Hollywood. We can only wish that there is no stopping his success and fame, and that he continues on growing more.
Ahsan Khan is not only talented, but this time he is going to be tri-talented. The actor is gearing up to ace singing, acting and dancing all together in an upcoming Musical, titled Ishq, in London.
Ishq is based on the all time favourite folklore, Heer Ranjha, in which Ahsan Khan will be playing the lead. While talking to a local publication house, he said:.
“It’s a Sufi/Pakistani musical and it’s going to be mostly in English. The story is an adaptation of Heer Ranjha, the main reason being that the play is a celebration of 70 years of Pakistan and [hopes to spread] the Sufi message of love and peace.
“Basically we are promoting the lighter side of Islam, which is much, much needed these days. It’s the first time that Pakistani theatre is happening in London.”
The play will come along with three to four songs, in a backdrop of a village, in Punjabi to highlighten the Heer Ranjha affect. The Udaari famed actor further revealed the story line as:
“The legends of Heer Ranjha tells the story of a romance that created revolutionary uproar. An adaptation of that love story, Ishq combines classical and modern dance with a unique blend of poetry and fusion music.”
Ishq will be performed at Sadler’s Wells Theatre London from 7th-9th September .
Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai has been ruling our prime time since the day it smashed into our TV screens. The drama which aired from 8th April has been on the top of charts in the selected day category.
Directed by Farooq Rind, the beautiful story flows out the pen of Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar. Of what could be considered cliche, it revolved around the love triangle of three different individuals entangled into one scenario.
It remains to be seen how far unsorted does the story of the ever-egoistical yet loved by everyone Maheen (Ayeza Khan) goes. Who would she be destined to for forever; Gulraiz (Shehzad sheikh) or Waqar (Imran Abbas). This is the same suspense that has been killing us since day 1.
Well, we wish 7th Sky Entertainment and the entire cast of Muhabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai tons of best wishes and impending congratulations for the success of this drama serial.
Kamran Akmal took a swing at the former coach of Pakistani team Waqar Younis, calling him the reason for a lot of damage of our cricket team. He didn’t just stop there, he went as far as calling him a “failure”.The 35-year-old said Waqar failed as a coach in his two stints with the team in 2010-11 and 2014-16.Last night he was present in a program on Geo sports and this is what he had to say about his former coach:
Waqar bhai was a failure as coach and he caused lot of damage to Pakistan cricket. In his enthusiasm to experiment and sideline established players he put the national team back by two to three years.
Kamran Akmal also questioned Waqar for his planning.
I don’t know but he had issues with some players. He had no plans on how to take Pakistan team forward. An example was when he went to the World Cup 2015 and asked Younis Khan to open the innings or his issues on playing Sarfraz Ahmed late in the tournament.
Kamran pointed out that in Waqar’s tenure Pakistan slipped down the ICC rankings in all formats.
He took six to seven new players to Bangladesh after the World Cup and the result was we lost the one-day and T20 series for the first time to them

Humayun Saeed started his acting career in 1996 in PTV drama yeh Jahan after struggling for many years as an aspiring actor. Eleven years on, he is ruling both the big and small screens. The model, actor, producer is extremely handsome, totally friendly and a performance powerhouse. One thing that is remarkable about is that he manages to create an uncanny chemistry with every lead female he works with. Yet, he is a one woman man, which is why Ahmed Ali Butt had jokingly given him a Wife Time Achievement Award on live Tv, since he is always accompanied by his wife.
There is hardly any role which Humayun has not nailed to perfection. He is our very own King Khan, despite refreshingly not being interested in Bollywood.
Humayun Saeed has a huge fan following, walks the ramp for countless brands and has won many awards for his acting, including Lux Style Award, Hum Award and Ary Films Award.
He is also known among his peers for his mild temperament. Not one to get ignited easily, Humayun has smoothed out many conflicts with his characteristic charm and good humour. You would have a hard time finding someone from showbiz who does not like Humayun Saeed. Among the rivalries and issues of showbiz, he is an oasis of calm, smiling, performing, dancing and grabbing all the attention effortlessly.
These days, he is busy in promoting his upcoming movie Punjab Nahi Jaongi by Ary Films and is in Lahore currently for it. So his birthday celebrations were low key, just including his wife, close friends and co stars present there. Here is video where he, Mehwish Hayat and Farhan Saeed are singing in the party.
Surely, you are going to enjoy this live, casual performance ;

Maya Ali had a massive following on her Instagram account. She always shares her selfies, insights into her projects and many things about her personal life with her fans on her Insta. Today is Maya’s birthday and she got an unexpected gift. Sadly the gift is not a pleasant one. Maya’s Instagram account has been hacked by someone and the hacker has deleted most of her posts and has unfollowed nearly everyone.
Maya is trying really hard to get her account back. Meanwhile many accounts are claiming to be official accounts of her which is obviously not true. We wish Maya gets her account back as many people love her and follow her.
It was Maya Ali’s birthday today. The starlet was wished by her fellow stars from the industry. Ayesha Khan, Sanam Chaudhary and her Teefa In Trouble co-star Ali Zafar gave shoutouts to the star. See the wishes she got on her birthday:
We at reviewit also wish Maya a very happy birthday!
Nida Yasir is very conscious of her looks, fitness and style, especially since she is hosting Good Morning Pakistan. She experiments very carefully and is never seen wearing or carrying something outrageous. That is why she always looks decent and well groomed, and of course younger than her age.
In the recent episodes of her morning show, she is sporting long straightened hair that are dip dyed and left loose and they really suit her.

Episode 15 of this drama gave more of an insight into how the characters have developed, rather than moving the story forward. It was still interesting though, and a lot of new things were to to be learnt.
Iqra is more of a homebody girl but Anum and Amber both are career driven and worn hard to achieve their dreams. They have that naughtiness in them while Iqra is very realistically shown quiet and serious, since she was the one who had suffered most with her mother due to being the eldest. Anum got to know in this episode that Dr Jawad was married. She was genuinely surprised and a little upset but he gave her the details after which everything is fine between them but there is certainly more about Jawad that we don’t know yet. We will see how his and Anum’s relationship develop in later episodes.
Amber was wondering whether disabled kids are a punishment from Allah. This is a very sensitive topic and even she herself negated that thought, but she is so desperate to see her father suffer for the atrocities he committed with them, she keeps on thinking of their regarded child was a punishment for their sins.
Saima Noor was again phenomenal in today’s episode. She is so calm, so foucused and so positive that Naheed can give us motherhood golds from her character. She made Amber realise her mistake in such a nice way that it deserved an applause. She treats her girls with respect, care and gives value to them, not now but from the very first day they came into her life. Her dialogues are written and delivered very well.
Anila is confused between her maternal instinct and her loyalty for her husband. Her sons are rude , obnoxious and lazy but one things stood out. Even though they were also kids when all this happened, they are still disgusted by Sadiq’s disowning of his own daughters. He was a weak person morally and ethically and his step sons are exploiting it now. Can’t blame them.
Stay tuned to the next episode where Iqra’s marriage is the question of whether they should invite Sadiq or not.
Former Pakistani cricket team captain, Misbah ul Haq is enjoying some of his post-retirement period with his family on Italian soil.
The cricketer with his wife and Kids have been lately found vacationing in Italy. They were spotted having fun at the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. Have a look on the pictures of Misbah and his family below. There can be no better way of spending time with family after you have given up your work.
In a shocking turn of events, the self proclaimed ‘social activist’ Gharida Farooqi was found to be keeping a 15 year old housemaid unlawfully under her custody. The news blew up the internet and Gharida received a lot of heat because of it. Iqrar-ul-Hassan, the host of “Sar-e-Aam” and her fellow journalist had a few words to say about it too.
He believes the time for our legal authorities to take a strong stand against child labor has come. The house workers also should be given the rights they are entitled to.
Iqrar was quick to confirm the authenticity of the clip:
The audio has been authenticated through a special software system.
Speaking about the two-faces of the host of ‘G for Gharida’ he said,
The telephonic conversions show a totally different story of Gharida; opposite of what we usually see on television screen.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=E4-Dt8OPnFI
Sonia was rescued from Gharida’s residence after her father filed a report against the journalist. The local police was quick to take action after the huge storm that the leaked clip created on social as well as our local media.
There has always been a conflict about cross border release of movies between India and Pakistan. A lot of awaited Bollywood movies are missed in this conflict. This time, however, Ajay Devgan and Ileana D’cruz starrer, Gulshan Kumar’s Badshaho is all set to appear in Pakistani cinemas.
The cast also includes Esha Gupta and Emraan Hashmi.
It is a movie from the 1975 era when there was political unrest in the country and Ileana who is playing a Rani in the movie has her place raided and she is arrested for keepinh undeclared gold. The gold is then given to a smart police officer to take it to Delhi. The movie takes you to a road journey between Jaipur and Delhi and has a lot of action, thrill, mystery and sensation in it. It’s song Piya More and a rendition of the hit song Mere Rashke Qamar is getting a lot of appreciation.
This episode of Zakham was power packed with some extremely sensitive and emotional performances. However, there was one man who stole today’s episode, fair and square. The veteran Shabbir Jan once again proved why he is one of the most loved actors spanning many years of Pakistani dramas. His acting from the scene when he was praying for Ahmed’s life, to when he was expressing regret over his decision for Takbeer, to when he was teaching her about the mystic ways of Allah and how to find solace in His decisions, to when he was looking at Musa with sorrow and nostalgia of what could have been and he only has himself to blame for it , was all phenomenal. It was mind blowingly real, natural and carried me away with the wave of emotions of a father who did what he thought was right but he was wrong and his daughter has to pay the price for it. The agony such a father would feel was nailed by Shabbir Jan and then some more.
The other performances of today were also very impressive. Madiha Imam, Faysal Quraishi, Ismat Iqbal, Fahim Abbas.. everyone ‘s acting was right on spot. The death scene itself was quite abrupt and leaves a lot to be desired, but the performances that followed more than made up for it. Madiha Imam is usually amazing in all the scenes except when she is with Ahmed, right up to his last scene. When he was crying last night, she could not portray the real expressions of worry a mother would have. I don’t blame her though, she is quite young and not a mother herself, but I was reminded of Sanam Jung in Dil e Muztar, who had portrayed such a scene to perfection. Other than that scene, Madiha Imam was very good. Hers and Shabbir Jan’s scenes were the highlights of today’s episode and justly so. She was wonderful as a mourning parent and so was Faysal Quraishi.
The remaining episode was focused on the aftermath of Ahmed’s untimely death and it was very precisely shot. Despite dedicating all those minutes to the outpouring of grief, it did not feel dragged. Khawar’s sitting at night on Ahmed’s grave and Takbeer requesting her parents to bring him back, it was all very well coordinated and just the right amount of screen time was given to everyone.
Musa and his mother’s arrival and her conversation with Takbeer as well as Musa’s with her father cleared away a lot of bad feelings between them. Musa and his mother are genuinely very nice people.
Khalida and her husband were also great today. I don’t know the name of the actor playing her husband but his acting is very suitable for the role. He is like a rock to Khawar and Khalida and in his serious and detached attitude fits perfectly where he is in the play. Yousaf also seems to be his real son, since the resemblance is very obvious.
The promos show some interesting discoveries about Khawar.. stay tuned xx
Mahira Khan has been ruling our hearts with her piercing looks and pointy eyes. There is no doubt that people slip over how she looks, and every event she graces, she is the highlight of it. Yet again, she has come up with another photoshoot that has left us spellbound. How can someone be so graceful?
The side pose that can kill millions. . .
She has that Eastern aura, which very few actresses have!
One more to kill for. Sighs.
This photoshoot is all and more that we expected from Mahira.
The reason and the credits of this steamy photoshoot are still under wraps, but one can’t stop but wonder that she definitely has that Greek goddess look, which can kill many.
Hania Amir came and conquered. The girl became a darling as soon as she hit the screens with Janaan. As soon as Palwasha came on screen, people forgot the conventional Pakistani beauties and there started the era of Hania.
The 18-year-old was just a Dubsmash fanatic with her videos ruling Instagram. Never have she ever thought that her videos will take her to stardom.
Since then, she has become the eye-candy with offers and offers flooding in. Lately, she is shining on our screens with Phir Wohi Muhabbat as Alishba.
Your damsel in distress in now storming her way once again to the big screen with two impending films; Na Maloom Afrad 2 and Parwaaz Hai Junoon. In short, she is riding high on success.
As seen through the picture, she will be playing an Air-Force officer in Parwaaz Hai Junoon, while NMA 2 is all about fun and enjoyment.
With another drama for Urdu 1 in pipeline, her schedule are all jammed and packed. There is no stopping the new Queen of K-town cutest entertainment league.
The latest song from Punjab Nahin Jaongi was released today. It is a dance number with expected jhatka matkas with Urwa Hocane and Ahmed Ali Butt dancing to the tunes. So Humayun Saeed posted link to the song on his twitter account today with a kind of request directed towards Hamza Ali Abbasi:
Hamza recently posted a detailed account on his Facebook page where he expressed how item songs will destroy the credibility of industry. His rant was assumed to target the latest item number from Na Maloom Afraad 2. Humayun directly tagged Hamza so that he could not post anything disapproving about the new song they released.
What do you think? Is Hamza getting all the backlash regarding his Facebook post justified? Share your thoughts!
Fawad Khan is back to his normal self. Yes, the cute looking sweet-boy-next-door kinda guy! He has let go of all those drool-worthy facial hair and is sleeker than ever. The image has just surfaced on the internet and people have definitely gone bonkers.
Did you see? He was recently spotted with his wife in this clean-shaven look, and Humsafar is all over our mind once again. Most of the people had wished for him to be back to his normal self but we didn’t. That typical Pakistani man look was so hunky!
You mustn’t have forgotten him yet. Right?
And this grainy yet albeit a fat picture:
No matter what, Fawad Khan is Fawad Khan. And, who could resist his charm? We once again have our boyish prince charming with us.
Bulbulay has been the most loved comedy show of recent times. It is also the longest running show on Pakistani television. Nabeel, Mehmood Sahab, Momo and Khoobsurat have become household names. Good news for Bulbulay fans is that the show is coming back with a new season and we will probably see a grown up Chandi this time. With crazy promotional tour of her film Yalghaar coming to an end Ayesha Omar is back to the Bulbulay sets and she posted her picture with the announcement of the new season coming up.
Ayesha looks gorgeous in this picture. Lets see how she will play the mother of a teenage Chandi!
Ohkay so, this episode was a bit better than the previous one. I am glad that the story took a leap of 5 years but even then they showed that every single character was stuck in the past, which actually happens because no matter how hard you try to run away from your past, it does come back & haunt you. Gaiti is stuck in the past too, Zubiya even though has moved on but still is facing the brunt of her past mistakes & Khalil’s entire present & future has been laid out in a way that it will remind him of his past till his last breath. However, I will say that the pace has slowed down considerably. Things were quite intense when the story was focusing on Daniyal & Noori’s track but after that, everything has become one-dimensional. I feel the story of this novel was appropriate for 16-18 episodes but since HUM is known for dragging the dramas, I am dreading the thought of it not ending before 24-25 episodes.
So, Khalil couldn’t recover from the accident that he met & this was basically a punishment that he got, to reflect on his past mistakes & seek forgiveness for all that he has done. Even before the accident, Khalil had realized how wrong he was but now for the rest of his life, he was going to get reminded of all that he has done. Zubiya was there to support her father emotionally because just when she hit the rock bottom, Khalil was the one who stood by her & now it was Zubiya’s turn to return the favor.
I was disappointed to see zero growth in Sheema’s character, like she is enjoying all the bounties of life so not sure why she has to be so so bitter that too with her husband being in charge of the finances now? Why’s there a need for her to be so indifferent to Abbi? Initially she used to be mad at Abbi because he was the one who dealt with everything & Rehan used to work as an employee but now her husband is doing everything so there’s no need for her to be so negative! Looks like Rehan has started to forgive Zubiya or if not, he has started to think on those lines because he has seen how hard Zubiya has worked to redeem herself & how she hasn’t given any reason to anyone to doubt her! Even though Sheema is just a side character but seeing the coverage she & her turbo tongue gets, I wish she tastes a spin of karma too to realize how wrong she is!
Asfand is busy with his routine & looks like he avoids coming back to Pakistan, may be because of the note at which he left in the first place. Gaiti, Usman & his wife along with Saim are busy in their own world but it was commendable how there was this undertone of sadness in their scenes, as if something is still missing from their lives & they are incomplete but are still living their life as it came. As usual, even after 5 years, Gaiti’s mom was only focused on Gaiti’s marriage but I loved when Gaiti gave her a shutup call!
Khalil wants Zubiya to get married & for that reason he contacted Mahjabeen, to apologize & also to suggest Zubiya’s marriage with her cousin but it couldn’t happen as Mohsin is already engaged. I liked the scene where Zubiya for the first time broke down in front of her father, it’s like she has been bearing this burden for so many years but now she couldn’t take it anymore & felt weak because she realized that all of her efforts have gone to waste as people are not ready to forget what she did. Another thing worth noticing in this episode was how Zubiya snubbed her colleague, it’s like she now has an trust issues & she wouldn’t trust any guy easily. Also, it looked like Zubiya didn’t want to give anyone any chance to make any assumptions about her, that’s why she firmly said no to the guy who offered her a ride to her home!
Overall, this episode was decent but it was quite slow. I really wish they now move the story forward & especially the characters forward in such a way where their past is not attached to them anymore & we get to see them living life in their present because the focus on everyone’s past has been overdone now, to the point where at certain point I felt that the 5 year leap was not serving any purpose whatsoever! I’m hoping that the dynamics will change with Asfand’s re-entry. I really think the producers & the editors should consider cutting down on the slow pace of the drama by editing out all those unnecessary scenes & finishing it off around the 20th episode mark because there isn’t much left in the story & the long scenes & conversations make it even more obvious! Sajjal Ali & Ehtashamuddin were the stars of this episode, I loved their performances. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar.
Promo of item song ‘Kaif O Saroor’ from the movie ‘Na Maloom Afraad 2’ is out and it seems like Sadaf Kanwal has worked really hard on her dance moves. In a two minute promo, Sadaf looks hot and seductive. She is flattering the dance floor with her take on belly dancing and it doesn’t seems a bad effort to me. The shots and dance moves are more influenced with bollywood and the performance looks like one from across the border. But on the Sadaf’s end, she has raised the bar for dance performances in the industry and have not disappointed us as an item song performer.
Lately a teaser of barely few seconds of the same song was also released in which Sadaf showed bits of her exotic dance moves and got appreciations from Pakistani audience and across the border too. However on the other hand, the teaser also gained some criticism since the item songs never comply to our ethical and moral values.
Let’s have a look on the promo of ‘Kaif O Saroor’ which will give you an insight of it holds for the audience.

The video has Ahmed Ali Butt and Urwa Hocane dancing to the beats. Though Urwa has tried really well to shake that Lak but the song is no doubt owned by Ahmed Ali Butt. Man the way he is dancing will give all the Billis and Tootie Fruities a run for their money. Watch it yourself and get mesmerized by the hunk’s moves:

The movie mom has made waves across the borders and people have been praising Adnan Siddiqui and Sajal Aly for their acting. Stars from my own industry have also been gracious enough to recognize the talent Sajal and Adnan have shown and have showered praises on them for their performances.
Ayesha Omar has also seen the movie and she has really liked their acting. In an instagram post she was very verbal and generously praised both of them for holding their own against legends in India.
Here is what she wrote about them ;
Sajal Aly also read this and replied to Ayesha in the comments:
Ayesha was very lavish in praising Sajal in response,
Sajal has certainly managed to bag success, name and fame with her Bollywood debut. Looks like no body is going to forget her performance in Mom for a long long time.
There has been a multifold increase in internet trolling and name calling and blame gaming in the recent years. The fault lies partly in those who post their details on social media and partly in those who troll them.
This time Sarwat Gillani was the victim of internet curiosity and unwanted questions after the birth of her second baby boy, Araiz. People were asking her left, right and centre about how many kids she wants to have and whether she is having another one soon.
Sarwat has set the record straight with a clear reply cum warning on her Facebook account. Here is what she wrote;
We have to agree with her on this. She is an actress and people should keep their comments to that aspect of her life only. Her kids and how she plans them are not something people should feel entitled to discuss. Hopefully, they will consider themselves warned and refrain from indulging into the private life of hers or any other celebrity for that matter.

The renowned actor from our film industry, Shaan Shahid does not look happy with the comeback of program, ‘Pepsi Battle Of The Bands’. He had criticized the teaser of the show on one of his Facebook messages earlier and now lately, he has again posted a message in which he expresses his utter disappointment with the upcoming music show.
It is evident that Shaan isn’t happy with ‘Battle of The Bands’ and the brand ‘Pepsi’ too. Recently he has also posted a controversial message for the brand ‘Pepsi’ and it seems like he is trying to be a part of brand wars. Have a look on the message which he has posted on his Facebook account:
He perceives that Pepsi is intruding on Coke’s territory but why he is taking sides in the upcoming brand wars? Is it an elaborate PR stunt or may be Shaan is just trying to endorse Coke? Well this is still unclear and hopefully the time will explain us.
Pakistan Music Industry has given the world some of the most immaculate music artists over the years. Luckily for us some of them have come in pairs as siblings. The list includes some big names from music Gharanas and Qawals. But I have decided to focus on the familial pairs that have created an impression in the contemporary and popular genres of music in the country.
Zohaib Hassan And Nazia Hassan
The pop icons Zohaib and Nazia, made one of the most famous Pakistani pop duo in the country’s history. The siblings had reigned the pop music industry across South Asia during mid 70’s to mid 90’s and gained huge popularity. They are the sensations of our pop music who created waves at home and overseas. Their bestselling album, ‘Disco Deewane’ broke all records to become the highest selling Hindi-Urdu album with worldwide sale of records exceeding 85 milliion. The album is still a landmark in pop music industry in South East Asia.
Unfortunately, Nazia is not among us but Nazia ‘Aap Jaisa koi’ will never again originate from our music industry.
Zohaib is all set to release his new album ‘Signature’, in which we will get to hear him and also a last recording of Nazia which is exciting and it is difficult to keep calm until it releases.
Sajjad Ali, Waqar Ali And Lucky Ali
From the lineage of classical singer Shafqat Hussein, sprang two talented brothers, Sajjad Ali and Waqar Ali who have nurtured their family trade and have accomplished marks for themselves in the music industry.
There are few singers in the country who have got command on various genres of singing and Sajjad Ali is one of them. He is a legendary semi-classical, pop and rock singer and a poet too. However, Waqar has also got great vocals but his contributions as a pop music composer is unmatchable in the country. His compositions are tranquil and we can never have enough of listening to his soulful compositions and OST of drama serials which he composes quite often.
Lucky Ali, the younger brother of Sajjad Ali and Waqar Ali, is a singer too. He has proved that he is the same blood quite a few times but unfortunately, he has not been able to carve an identity for himself in the industry.
Ali Noor and Ali Hamza
Ali Noor and Ali Hamza are the two talented brothers who have introduced the genre of pop rock music to the Pakistani mainstream. They paired up to produce a striking rock band, ‘Noori’ and earned massive fan following. Their debut album ‘Suno k Main Hun Jawan’ developed a cult following before the album’s release in 2003 through leaks on the internet.
Besides being great singers, both brothers are fine guitarists and astonishing music directors and they still feel there is a long way to go before their band establishes in the country.
Yasir, Umair and Uzair, three talented brothers who are contributing in our music industry with all their hearts. The singer, song writer and music producer Umair Jaswal caught the attention of the audience after his performance in Coke Studio Season 8. He performed the song “Sammi Meri Waar” with Quratulain Baloch which received more than two million views in two weeks. He is also lead vocalist of the rock band ‘Qayaas’.
Umair’s elder brother, Yasir Jaswal is also into singing and he is a lead singer of band ‘Irtaash’. He has also sung as lead vocalist in another band named ‘Call’. Moreover, he is a music director and has also directed many music videos.
The youngest of the lot, Uzair Jaswal is also a song writer and a singer and has also performed in Coke Studio due to which his fan following has grown exponentially.
Raga Boyz
The four sons of renowned Patiala Gharana singer Ustad Hamid Ali Khan, fuse together and brought a pop band into existence. Their band name is “Raga Boyz”. Siblings Inam Ali Khan, Nayab Ali Khan, Ahmad Hassan Ali Khan and Wali Hamid Ali Khan are all singers, and are also proficient in many instruments. While Ahmad Hassan and Wali are also lyricists and have written songs for the band. The siblings have proved their worth by performing and singing music of all genres from Ragas to Rock, from Sufi to Heavy Metal and from Folk to Fusion.
Hadiqa Kiani And Irfan Kiani
Hadiqa Kiani, a talented singer and song writer who had managed to establish herself as a true pop icon during 90’s. She sings songs in different languages and keeps experimenting with various musical styles. She is also the first mainstream Pakistani artist to release an album completely in English named ‘Rough Cut’ in collaboration with Amir Zaki.
His brother Irfan Kiani, is also a singer and has lent his vocals in Hadiqa Kiani’s duo ‘Jab Sey Tum Gaye’.
Ali Zafar And Danyal Zafar
Ali Zafar, a talented singer, and song writer who gained popularity at a young age by the release of a pop song ‘Channo’ which was included in his debut album ‘Huqa Pani’. ‘Channo’ propelled Ali Zafar to the heights of fame. He has sung and composed songs for Bollywood too and has proved his worth at home and abroad.
Ali Zafar’s younger brother, Danyal Zafar is now all set to foray into music industry. Danyal’s debut will be in forthcoming season of Coke Studio alongside Momina Mustehsan and will feature as an instrumental artist in his second track. Coming from the same blood as heartthrob singer Ali Zafar, we are wondering what Danyal has got to offer to our music industry but we must wait until the next season of Coke Studio comes out.
Danyal is also working on his debut album and serving as a music director for his brother’s upcoming film, Teefa in Trouble.
Meesha Shafi and Faris Shafi
Pakistan’s very own rockstar, Meesha Shafi is a powerhouse of talent. She first achieved popularity for her collaboration with Arif Lohar on Coke Studio Season 3 with the song ‘Jugni’. The song gained over 20 million views on YouTube, leading Meesha to the altitudes of admiration. Meesha is an artist who has got beauty with brains.
Meesha’s brother, Faris Shafi is a rapper and has also penned down some satirical lyrics for his own rap songs. However, he is more known to us as a television actor but his real passion is music.
Mehwish Hayat And Afsheen Hayat
Mehwish Hayatt, an actor turned singer has proved her singing skills in Coke Studio Season 9 alongside Sheraz Uppal. Her sister Afsheen Hayat is also into singing and has released her debut song which failed to earn any significant recognition.
These are the talented siblings who are contributing in Pakistani main stream pop, rock, fusion and similar genre of music. If you have more names to add in this story then you can share in the comment box below.
Morning shows in Pakistan do a million things, from promotions to competitions to celebrations to tributes to wedding renditions. One thing that stood out recently was Sanam Jung’s Jago Pakistan Jago yesterday. It was supposedly a pet show, but the animals that graced the sets were far from our usual concepts of the cuddly playful animals that are usually kept as pets.
There were Ayaz Sammo, Benita David and Amir Alvi as guests but the theme of the show was around Adeel, Ibad and Shehzad from Paradise Pets who brought their most unusual pets on the show.
There was a python and a crocodile, which their owners were handling with an amazing ease.
There was also a peacock who was getting quite excited and even jumped on the camera in the first break.
There was also a mix of exotic birds, including the blue green macaw, the African grey parrot and the white parrot.
There were also two very big dry land tortoises who did not come out of the their shells during the duration of the show.
Amir Alvi brought his own pet grey parrot and talked about the cocks and the dogs that he keeps at home. Benita loved his parrot and kept it on her hand for most of the time.
One of the pet owners, Ibad ur Rehman had brought his young son who kept the python around his neck and was very comfortable like that.
Sanam Jung, however was quite uncomfortable during the whole show. First she was not sitting down due to the peacock’s jumping that it was doing on the sets. She was also on guard from parrots that kept roaming on the floor. When the guests tried to get her to hold the python and the crocodile, she made funny excuses like she is not fearful and that she can easily hold but just does not want to. Also that maybe it is motherhood or something but she is not as brave and adventurous as she was before marriage. Her discomfort around the animals was very obvious and frankly, who can blame her. In fact, we want to salute her courage for being able to complete the show she was sharing with such unusual pets.
We are not big on animals here, but surely animal lovers must have found it quite enjoyable and informative.
A handsome hunk from our drama industry, Noor Hassan always keeps on experimenting his looks and dressing. Since he know how to carry different styles, his sense of styling doesn’t disappoint us. He has lately shared pictures of his cousin’s wedding in which he was spotted in yet another look. Have a glimpse of Noor at the wedding ceremony of his cousin.
He has also posted some adorable pictures with his family at the wedding in which he was spotted sharing some love-able moments with them.
