Bidding Farewell To Naml

What an awesome journey it had been! A novel which initially laid the foundation of taking revenge of  Murders++I should say, by a family which was dismantled by the rich relatives ended at pretty much the same note. The Kardaars horrific story ended at exactly the same point where Sonia the daughter of Hashim has taken over the charge of taking revenge without exactly knowing the truth behind all this fiasco. Well said by Nemrah Ahmed that the cycle of revenge keeps on going and passes down to generation after generation. The true wisdom behind the forgiveness  of Murder at the time of conquer of Makkah by our beloved Prophet Muahmmad S.A.W was to put a seal to this whole cycle of revenge which keeps on going and becomes the main reason of destroying families and spreading hatred.

Well, the most prominent thing about this novel for me had been the character development of all the characters. I believe in a writing which is relatable and that will actually hit the chords of your heart and shake your mind to contemplate and question about your deeds and that only happens if the characters are shown more human than angelic or evil. Apart from Hashim and Javahirat all the other character’s life is somehow inspirational and urges us to ponder our lifes.

The journey of Saadi, has been inspirational where a boy who was full of self- confidence was shattered and humiliated by the guilt of killing someone in self-defense was a clever way to show his dark side as well and to make the viewers understand that every person will face something in their lives which would change him forever whether it be for the better or worse depends on our way of dealing with the trauma.

I am damn sure, the character of Haneen has been an eye-opener for many girls. A girl falling for someone and then raising herself back was such an amazing way for putting forth the lesson that ‘’ you are your own hero’’. Thankyou so much Haneen for that!

Zumar, my love for this character is so much that I don’t know if I will ever come across a lady with such personality in other novels except Aks. This lady has gown through so much but damn look at her way of coming back and fight for the family…. We will always miss Zumar.

Faris Ghazi this dou number insan was the hero in disguise from the very beginning and we were thinking Zumar will be the one to hit the nail in the coffin but it was none other than Faris Ghazi with his heroic actions and humble heart that surely made him the hero.

Red Lady- I honestly felt for her, I know she has been evil to gain her love ,she troubled the life of Zumar and Faris but at the end she tried to save her and got killed and yes Thank God she got killed after confessing all and choosing the right path why I said Thank God for her being killed is because Suicide would have led her to other complications and atleast here we can pray for her.

Let’s assemble all the evils together Lol, Hahsim Kardaar nahi sudharne waala, I was one of those wishful thinkers who optimistically wished for a change of heart in Hashim but Alas, we had to face this. We had to read all this because there are people who never change and Hashims’s end will be written by Sonia’s life for that we have to wait for Naml part 2. It was such a relief to see all the plastic beauty draining out while the Sulphuric acid was dripping from her face… you deserved it Javahirat! I am unapologetically being inhumane here Lol.

All the side characters had their significance and they played their role beautifully. I cannot thank Nemrah Ahmed enough for this masterpiece although I didn’t like the ending but we cannot always have a conventional end though.

A little Award Ceremony here and I want you guys to share yours as well and Let’s see who gets the best suitable title complementing its personality.

Rabia Butt fell for an April Fool’s prank and later slammed the publication for it

0

April Fool’s day has become a really big deal all over the world. From you family to your friends, celebrities to online publications, everyone tries their hand at it on April 1st.

A well known publication reported on April 1 as a prank that the new Islamabad Airport would be named after China’s President name ‘Xi Jinping’.

Many people fell for it who did not bother to read the whole article which mentioned in the end that it was a prank.

However, model Rabia Butt fell for it too and posted about it on her instagram when she found this news shocking.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BSV1mU5gLjH/?taken-by=iamrabiabutt

Right after finding out it was a prank as another publication pointed it out, Rabia was not pleased either.

She posted a screenshot of the article which pointed her out as falling for the prank. She wrote:

“Wow I just thought that one can never joke about the county or may be I’m way too sensitive about my homeland.”

Hence, she slammed the publication by naming it on her instagram to her 78K followers.

Muqabil Episode 18 Review – Phenomenal Performances

This episode of Muqabil laid down the foundations for what is coming ahead. Although everything that the viewers were shown in this episode needed to be seen but it also had a lot of scenes which could have been chopped down. The pace of the drama has slowed down considerably but it is still unpredictable and has some phenomenal performances to its credit. Every episode has some new development which gives you a reason to tune into this drama the coming week. This play could have been a game changer if it maintained its fast pace and there weren’t a lot of filler scenes which are clearly meant to kill time. This episode however was not a filler episode overall because with this episode Pareesa learned a few things about her which she was not willing to accept before and the dynamics of Arman and Pareesa’s relationship also changed completely this week.

Half of this episode covered everyone’s mindset while they were desperately looking for Arman. In my opinion this could have been one of those episodes which keep you at the edge of your seat if the preview of the next episode did not reveal that Arman was in the hospital. The song covering Pareesa and Arman’s past scenes and the visit to Sara’s house did not serve any purpose at all. The only important aspect of Sara and Pareesa’s conversation was that for the first time the viewers watched Pareesa acknowledge the fact that she was in love with Arman. The biggest purpose that these recent developments served is that Pareesa has finally accepted her true feelings for Arman, she is not afraid to love him and she is not scared of admitting how much he means to her. Pareesa, Arman and Mahmood’s characters are the lifeline of this drama, no matter how meaningless an episode is as a whole, these three characters always add meaning to every episode and keep it from getting too dull.

Muqabil Episode 18 Review - Phenomenal Performances

My favorite scene in tonight’s episode was the one in which Arman looked at Pareesa and his father for the first time after his accident (suicide attempt?). It was brilliantly directed and Mohsin Abbas’ acting was beyond remarkable in this scene. It showed exactly how Arman felt at that moment but was unable to express his feelings in any way. Honestly speaking, I was expecting a lot more from this episode but it did not cover Pareesa and Arman’s scenes the way one would have hoped it would but on the contrary focused on showing the aftermath of Arman’s disappearance. I have always been a big fan of Asif Raza Mir but now I am completely sold. His expressions when he warned Pareesa that she should never share her secret with Arman were remarkable. He brings out all the shades of Mahmood’s personality effortlessly on screen. Shehnaz and Aftab’s scenes covered Aftab’s guilt and also a different side of Shehnaz’s personality. Saba Hameed is also an all time favorite and Saife Hassan is very convincing as Aftab. These people may run a big business but they have no clue how to handle their daughter, that is something they are still learning to do!

The preview of the next episode suggested that Arman will take his time coming into terms with the fact that his father was the one who violated the woman who is now his wife. So far Muqabil has picked up pace every time the viewers thought it had lost its momentum therefore I have high hopes that the next episode will deliver.

How many of you watched this latest episode? Do share your thoughts about it.

PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week will last for Three days now instead of Four

0

The upcoming PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week (PSFW) which was scheduled to take place in Lahore this month between April 13 and 16 has now been reduced to three days because of venue unavailability.

PSFW was initially supposed to take place on March 2-5 but it was postponed due to the number of terrorist attacks all over the country during that time.

April 13 to 15 are now the new dates for April.

Obviously, the lineup will have to be shuffled around three days now but it also means that the industry can relax a bit before the Lux Style Awards night in Karachi on April 19.

The lineup for PSFW has not been confirmed but it will showcase the work of designers like Sana Safinaz, Sania Maskatiya, Adnan Pardesy, Misha Lakhani, Generation and Ali Xeeshan and others.

It is also being said that a Sunsilk hair show, conceptualised by Nabila will take place.

Shows will happen individually this time around which will give the media the choice of selecting designers of their interest.

Momina Mustehsan Talks About Engagement & Lux Style Awards

Momina Mustehsan is a name that seems to be in the limelight all the time. She made her debut in Coke Studio season 9 and has developed a huge fan following in a short span of time. Whether it’s about her voice, beauty or personal life, she’s always in the news.

Hello from the other side ?☎️?? ? @sairashakira @crimsonpakistan

A post shared by Momina Mustehsan (@mominamustehsan) on

Last year, Momina got engaged to her former fiancee, the U.S.A banker Ali Naqvi, but the engagement broke recently, which created a buzz on social media. Speaking to Instep, Momina opened up about her engagement and social media attention and here are a few interesting bits of the conversation.

The hoopla surrounding her personal life has finally settled down but she manages to stay in the news and often it’s not for the right reasons.

“I am glad it settled down because I freaked out; anyone would! What it became was never my purpose. While working at Coke Studio, I had no idea how huge it would end up being. Suddenly, there’s so much pressure; there was a lot of emphases put on how I look,”
Mustehsan said.

“After the insanity settled down, people out of boredom probably started creating one thing or the other to start new gossip. It’s not that easy to ignore it and at times, can get exhausting to deal with.”

A post shared by Momina Mustehsan (@mominamustehsan) on

When asked about Coke Studio and what motivated her, Mustehsan clearly stated: “I didn’t do Coke Studio to prove myself or become a professional musician – I make music for myself. I enjoy singing and that’s exactly what I did. In fact, ‘Afreen’ is a track that I wasn’t even supposed to do. The response I got from it was truly unprecedented. For anyone to reach that level again, including me is near to impossible.”

Speaking about her engagement, Momina shared that the undue attention did affect her off-duty. “I do want to distance myself, because no matter how hard you try – it does leave an impact on you. Being a part of Coke Studio is very prestigious but that doesn’t mean I’ve taken it up full time. I sing only when I want to, it’s still more or less a passion and not a profession.”

“Sometimes, I feel like deactivating all my social media handles and live in peace for a while, but even then I won’t be able to, there will be people who’ll assume I’m undergoing depression or something,”
she jokingly added.

The afreen afreen singer did not get nominated for the Lux Style Awards 2017, and here’s what she has to say about it, “It’s okay if I or neither of my songs got nominated. Being acknowledged by the masses and having them extend their love and support is enough for me to keep giving my best”

Project Peshawar: First multi-lingual, international film to be made in KPK

0
Project Peshawar is an upcoming Pakistani movie. It is a multi-lingual film and will soon be featured in cinemas across Pakistan. It will also be screened at several international film festivals.
Project Peshawar is first international film from Peshawar and has been filmed in three different countries and in three different languages,” Irshu Bangash, the director of the film told The Express Tribune.
70% of the film has been shot in Peshawar while the other parts were filmed in Canada and England.
The film is in Pashto, Dutch and English languages. Irshu added that the film will be Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (K-P) first colourgrade video that will change the current trends in the Pashto film industry.
Project Peshawar: First multi-lingual, international film to be made in KPK
The producers of the film believe that this film will be a step towards reviving the local cinema.

However, Peshawar itself will only get to see the premier event and Project Peshawar will not be released in any cinemas in the city, due to a lack of audience.

Suspence and thrill makes up the story according to the writer and producer, Junaid Kamran Siddique.

It is also based on real life incidents and will show the kidnapping of women and girls, focusing on the lead character of Shoaib, a Pakistani-Canadian who has to return to Pakistan due to some extenuating circumstances.

Junaid also added:
“Soon, you will see it under a big banner. Project Peshawar has been made multilingual to target the viewers from different parts of the world. A purely Pashtu film would not have generated much traction. If your product is good and worth watching surely it can do wonders.”
Project Peshawar: First multi-lingual, international film to be made in KPK
Its soundtrack includes songs by Sajid and Zeeshan and Khumariyaan the band, amongst others.
“It will be the greatest achievement of my life to make an international film in Pakistan,” said Shoaib.
“We believe that it will bring a good name to the Pashtu film industry and to the Peshawar as a whole.”

Raasta’s Box Office Report is out: Did it do well?

0

Sahir Lodhi’s Raasta received majorly negative reviews and even upon that, we are hearing that a sequel is in order.

The movie which stars him and is also made by him did not make the audience happy.

And now finally, the box office report is out.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BSY6fQKj8m3/

The report clearly tells that the film did not do well at all as long as numbers are concerned too.

According to a box office report by Galaxy Lollywood, the movie did very poorly. It only managed to make 2 million on the very first day.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BSSwnMkAA8-/?taken-by=abeerrizvi_official

It has also been reported that the movie is being screened in empty cinema halls as it has failed to attract the audience to come and watch it.

And those who watched the film weren’t amused either.

Faltu Larki Overview – Not A Faltu Drama!

So you know how you introduce solids to a baby. Baby rice, the most favorable first food – almost always an instant hit. Add in apple, pear -all good. Repeat – all good. Then introduce a few new flavors -sweet potato, butternut squash and gag! Baby wants nothing to do with all this food business. I am that baby. I tuned into the first few episodes of Faltu Larki when it first went on air and few episodes down, I was pleasantly surprised. Interested. A drama with actual humor, scenarios and characters that felt so real. A different treatment yes, but I took it in stride and liked it. Until the haveli characters were introduced and I wrinkled my nose and backed off. Never tuned in again until a few days ago and then could not stop watching.

On air every Thursday at 8pm on A Plus, Faltu Larki has been written by Faseeh Bari Khan and directed by Mazhar Moin. Apparently a show that aired a few years ago, Quddusi Sahab Ki Bewa was also written by Faseeh Bari Khan and directed by Mazhar Moin and that is something which caught my attention only recently otherwise I may not have bothered with Faltu Larki either. For some reason I was never able to bring myself to watch Quddusi Sahab Ki Bewa and so I can not compare the two shows. Anyway, back to Faltu Larki – I am aware a review of the first couple of episodes was posted on this website and it was actually that review that made me curious enough to watch the drama in the first place. What the reviewer wrote (in not these very words but still) – and stayed with me is very true – the dialogues of this drama are so witty and different. That and the characters, well most of them at least, are so interesting, real, outrageous all rolled into one that you can not help be drawn into watching the drama.

The drama keeps your interest alive for there are quite a few tracks running parallel to each other and some intertwined with others. Probably best to start with Anwar Sb (Salman Shahid) who has two wives and families all living in the same house. He has three children with his first wife (played by Hina Dilpazir) – Bhaijaan (Tipu Shareef), Faiza (Sundus Tariq) and Erum (Anam Fayyaz). Yes, Bhaijaan is called just that – Bhaijaan – by all and sundry. His parents, sisters, relatives all call him that although some fifteen plus episodes later we are enlightened. His actual name is Arsalan. Anyway, Anwar Sb’s second wife, Paro (Samiya Mumtaz) is much younger than the first and has a daughter, Palwasha aka Paashi. Anwar Sb’s younger brother Siraj (Behroze Sabzwari) also lives in the same house with his wife and son Yasir (Farhan Malhi). Apparently the two brothers have a distant relative who lived in India and upon her death, Siraj travels to India and brings back the relative’s daughter Jahan Ara (Dania Anwar) and announces she is to now live with them. At the same time we are also introduced to Erum’s fiancé Tabish (Imran Ashraf) and his family, who are very religious, amongst other things.

Fast forward a few episodes and the next lot of characters are introduced. These all reside in the ‘haveli’ and honestly, each character outdoes the other in terms of boggling my mind. Quite literally. Be it the mum (Seemi Raheel), her son Moazzam Ja, her daughter –never-quite-grasped-her-name- Bi (Yasra Rizvi), the female -always- clad- in -male- clothes driver Anwar or Mishtiri the newly hired maid who is the link between the family in the haveli and Anwar Sb’s household. Ek say barh kar ek hain!

It does sound like a whole pot full of characters in one drama and yes, while it is that, each character has a story to tell, some still shrouded in mystery twenty two episodes down. It is what Paro says to Jahan Ara about how in real life people are not as they are portrayed in movies and dramas. Nobody is black or white. A person in reality may be sensible one day, unreasonable the next, love something with a passion for a while and begin to detest it later. And that is exactly what most of the characters in this drama are. Paro, seemingly outraged by having been passed over by Bhaijaan has made exacting revenge and ensuring he never gets married to be her mission in life. She stops at nothing, even resorting to black magic. But then her heart softens when she sees Jahan Ara ill – until she becomes a prospective bride for Bhaijaan at which she makes her hatred well known, haha! Siraj may come across as the mild natured uncle who brings home an orphaned niece but his half baked business plans and emotional blackmailing towards his wife to the extent of selling her jewellery somehow does not make him seem so innocent and gullible anymore. Anwar Sb’s first wife seems to have a thick skin (no pun intended) and calls it as it is, not indulging in pretense whether it be for her daughters’ in laws sake or family. Yet she has her moments of despair which she can not hide at times when she reflects at the sad state of her marriage. Taabish and his mother are hypocrites whose references to religion are brought up at their own convenience and twisted for their own benefit. Jahan Ara who has wept most episodes away yet manages to find her tongue when dealing with Paashi or putting Yasir down. I have a feeling she is not all that she portrays herself to be but am waiting to find out. And Paashi! For all the times, I have been frustrated and shook my head at ‘twists’ in dramas when the female lead is unable to reach out to the male lead and ‘inform’ him of the zabardasti ka rishta being enforced upon her – in this day and age of internet, telephones, whatsapp etc – Paashi wipes away all my frustration for she manages to use all those and then even resort to good old pen and paper to get her point across!

The dialogues are definitely the strongest selling point in this drama, followed by amazing acting. I have found myself chuckling over so many dialogues. The scenes between Paro and Yasir where she constantly puts him down for being a useless film ka hero, her references to ‘faasbook’ (facebook), the first wife’s ‘bilood mein pressure’, ‘taich na karna’ – it just made me laugh. I can not figure out whose acting I enjoy the most – Samiya Mumtaz, Tipu’s, Anam Fayaz, Hina Dipazir, Taabish’s mum in law or even the young actress who plays Paashi. I am not being critical for the sake of being critical and this may only be my own perception but somehow even though Taabish’ character seems realistic, the acting by Imran Ashraf seems off point sometimes for he sounds like he is acting out a part rather than being the part, if that makes any sense. If it does not then let it go for it is probably just me who feels like that.

Another aspect that appealed to me is the dark humour which is downright insulting at times but strangely refreshing from the point of view of television dramas. For this is very real. References to weight, ‘hont latka kar baat karna’ (Taabish to Erum), ‘bring me chai with sugar because I don’t have sugar ki bemari’. I know, they sound outrageous but it worked for me in the sense that I gasped out loud at the rudeness of it all – but was not put off. Then again, the comedy factor brought about by the haveli characters with Seemi Raheel’s constant references to not being touched by Anwar the driver because she seems like a male and Moazzam Ji’s bachao acts did not make me laugh. Taabish’s mother’s constant ‘aap jayen yahaan se’ to her husband while initially seemed pointless but after a while I began to wait and expect her to say that to him each time he passed. What is all that about I wonder?!

Which brings me to a lot of little things which made me think – what is all that about, I wonder?! Anwar and Moazzam Ji’s sister – the jealousy and possessiveness. I do not know what to make of that? Paro’s weirdness about Bhaijaan seems to be half explained later on in the episodes and is not a very well hidden secret with Bhaijaan’s mother also knowing the truth so then how did the marriage with his father come about? Only to ensure Bhaijaan does not marry anyone else? Jahan Ara seemed drawn to Yasir but seems to be more than content with her upcoming marriage to Bhaijaan. What is running through her mind?

I could go on but seems like I have done enough of that already. For those of you who have been watching this from the beginning, you would have tons more scenarios or dialogues to add and please feel free to do so. My only concern is that the previous play presented by the combination of Faseeh Bari Khan and Mazhar Moin dragged on for 150 episodes or so if I am not mistaken and I sure hope this does not have a similar treatment. For as I sat down to pen this review I happened to check A Plus facebook, rather ‘faasbook’ page and saw that this drama will now air twice a week. I do not know whether that is to wrap it up or what. Anyway, I enjoyed these episodes so much, bar a few silly scenes which can be skipped that I could not resist penning down my thoughts and hearing yours. And for those of you who have not been watching this drama so far – Faltu Larki is not everyone’s cup of tea but do give it a go. How do you all feel about Faltu Larki so far? Who is your favourite character? Would love to hear your thoughts.

Talent Wasted!

When we talk about Pakistan we also talk about sheer amount of talent this nation retains. No matter to which field we belong to there is immense talent available everywhere. Now if we talk about Showbiz Industry specifically, then there is no need to introduce how versatile our mostly artists are. However versatility is not only the requirement, in order to climb heights of success you need to be in demand. Many actors and actresses chose to typecast themselves in particular role which obviously undermines their talent. They do it for their ease and directors don’t need to put extra effort to etch out feelings from the character. What they don’t realise is that they are losing out themselves in competition.

Pakistani Showbiz may be lucrative but still not big enough, so as new talent pours in thereby increasing competition it becomes difficult for an actor or actress to sustain the rule of Industry. Therefore in order to attain the rule you need to be dynamic and proficient in performing every character that has been offered to you.

Talent Wasted!

Hence the topic is to list down those actors/actresses that are capable of performing every character brilliantly but still are not in demand. It may be either they don’t want to get promoted or they are still waiting for their Golden Luck. In my case they are simply Talent Wasted!

Arij Fatyma: Since the beginning of her career, Arij never failed to enthrall audience with her impeccable performances. Arij is a versatile actress who retains acting sense, we have seen her performing comedy, romantic and in positive and negative roles. She got good portfolio in Industry, her notable performances are: Iraj in drama Meri Beti, Bareera in Aik Pal and Arsala in drama serial Ishq Parast. Despite such tremendous performances, Arij failed to become a popular and demandable actress in Industry. It seems like she is hardly signing any serials now, as there is no such mention of any of her upcoming dramas or probably I am not updated. Nevertheless I am still counting on her to be a part of film now.

Talent Wasted!

Sami Khan: Through his constant grim face on screen, Sami Khan literally bored the audience and that’s why he never become successful as he should be. Although Sami Khan is not a versatile actor but he is veteran in industry by considering his performances in number of plays. Sami Khan may lack variation in his range but he is well known for executing romantic type roles or you can say a chocolate hero. Sami Khan can be proved as a great choice for a romantic film and we are still waiting for him to be a part of big screen. Sami Khan remains a victim of typecasting, he is also a talent wasted!

Talent Wasted!

Agha Ali: Absolutely no introduction needed, in my view this guy is a pioneer of Pakistani Showbiz. What he cannot do? He is actor, director, singer, anchor, lyrist and excellent music composer. Then I don’t know why he chose to limit his abilities to dramas only and moreover against a particular actress Sarah Khan. He is a perfect Cinema material. Agha Ali could have become the heartthrob of Industry but he chose not to be, he has definitely lost his position in industry. Agha Ali is a true case of Talent Wasted, I hope he will clinch back his popularity once again and sign some good scripts or film in future.

Talent Wasted!
Naveen Waqar: This lady is unquestionably dynamic and got range. I was in awe when I watched her debut performance in drama serial “Humsafar”. She could have accomplished heights of success but marrying azfar affected her career negatively. After drama serial “Humsafar” it took her 2 years to finally step back in industry but till then she had lost her true fame. There is not such so much in her portfolio and there are also very less projects for her in pipeline. She is a true talent futile.

Talent Wasted!

So do you have any more names that you think is the talent wasted? Feel free to add the list.

Yeh Raha Dil Episode 08 – Heart-warming!

Ohkay so, this episode of Yeh Raha Dil was a little high on emotions but I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I must say the thing I love the most about this drama is the fact how all the emotions & all the situations have been conveyed so beautifully that no matter what comes my way, I find myself liking it. So, this was exactly the case with this episode too that even though it didn’t have any comic scenes or situations, everything that was shown was quite convincing & realistic.

So, Hayat finally showcased her desperation to earn her home back that she made such sort of commitment to Haroon where she promised that she will pay him back & buy her house from him. I think this is something admirable here that even though Hayat has no plan of action, she has nothing in her hands but all she has is a hope & a dream to get her house back one day. Even though Hayat has assessed Zaki & his family background quite well so far, but isn’t it amazing that Hayat hasn’t thought of exploiting Zaki or Haroon’s niceness & their courtesy even once? Even though in the beginning Hayat was introduced as someone who would manipulate people & sweet-talk them into achieving what she wanted but that was for the smallest of favors but it is actually quite interesting to see that now when she should be resorting to manipulation or things like that, she chose honesty & dignity over everything. It actually is a breath of fresh air to see a girl who believes in herself & is so self-sufficient that despite being in a dire situation, she isn’t looking for shortcuts!

Despite not wanting to, Zaki has grown a lot more courteous towards Hayat because he has finally realized that Hayat is in a difficult situation. The way Zaki tried to cheer Hayat up when he was on the way to drop her to her home was quite cute. For the first time, Hayat showed another trait of her personality that if she puts her mind to something, she will do anything to achieve it. Zaki tried to make Hayat realize that what she was wishing for wasn’t easy but Hayat chose to ignore everything that he was saying because she knew, she didn’t need to hear all of that as it might distract her from her motive.

Finally, Zaki got to meet Nida’s parents. As awkward as that entire interaction was, I loved that scene because it had so much going on in it. I love the fact how the director has made sure to showcase the personalities of all the characters through their reactions in different situations. It has been made clear that Nida is immature but it is a fact that she might be immature but she is not naïve or aloof to her surroundings. Nida could see that her parents especially her mother wasn’t leaving a good impression on Zaki but she tried really hard to cover up & in the end looked at Zaki in such a way as if she was expecting him to understand without registering what her mother was saying. Even though Nida is a little difficult but I like the fact that she hasn’t been shown as a completely negative character. Yes, Nida can be someone that people may form an opinion about a bit too quickly but overall, she is unapologetically like that & at least she makes Zaki happy (for now though). Nida might act impulsively in different situations but the moment she met her parents she knew something was off & that is why she even inquired about it & got to know that their parents were separated & were considering getting divorced, like this is something an indifferent or emotionally absent person would’ve never been able to guess but Nida did, which showed that she isn’t completely immature.

Yes, Nida’s attitude & her overall independent personality might be a point of concern for Haroon because she is not the sort of a partner he wants for his son as he knows Zaki’s weaknesses a a bit too well, that is why time & again he keeps on complaining about Nida’s attitude. Nida has lived her life independently, that is why she finds it hard to communicate with Zaki regarding each & everything because for her pretty much every other thing is nominal whereas for Zaki, things don’t work that way, that is why he seemed a little taken aback by Nida’s demand of showing her parents the house that Haroon bought for him.

So, Affaq finally came to his old house & inquired about the owner. I think it was good that the director didn’t drag this entire thing up & brought the story to such a point where Hayat & Affaq faced each other. Obviously, Hayat hasn’t been in a good place lately & on top of that, seeing her father in front of her after 20 years came as a shock to her. It looks like even though Affaq has done well for himself in his professional life but when it comes to his personal life, he feels empty & a huge void, which definitely has a lot to do with his decision of leaving Hayat & her mother behind. Also, Nida’s mother did say that her & Affaq’s relation was a bit shaky, so I am sure this must be another reason why he seemed so regretful because he must’ve thought that he found a compatible partner in the form of Nida’s mother but he actually didn’t & even after so many years, he was once again at the brink of a divorce. It did seem that he was ready to start afresh with Hayat but I don’t think that would be fair on Hayat’s part to give him a space in her life just because he wants it. I think Affaq will have to earn his place back in Hayat’s life because he has no idea what she has gone through all these years in his absence, so her tantrum or hesitation is quite believable!

Overall, I loved this episode of Yeh Raha Dil too. This episode also had some few but very meaningful conversations, especially the ones that Affaq & Zaki shared every now & then. I must say Ayesha Sana played her part really well & I will also praise the stylist this time around because just by looking at both Nida & her mother, one could tell that they both are related to each other, like there was so much of similarity between them. I actually laughed a lot when Nida told Zaki how she enjoyed being suspicious because that’s something that females enjoy the most. Also, the way Zaki brought food & clothes for Hayat was quite sweet. This drama somehow has a lot of warmth & sweetness attached to it which is something that I love about it the most. All the actors did a commendable job. It is actually quite nice to see Ahmed Ali sharing a unique kind of chemistry with both Anam Gohar & Yumna Zaidi. Ayesha Sana was a nice addition to this episode even though her character was quite odd but she did a commendable job in portraying that. I can’t wait for the next episode already. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yeh Raha Dil.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Feroze Khan and Humaima Malick On Tonite With HSY – Must-Watch Clips!

Feroze Khan and Humaima Malick were HSY’s guests in the recent episode of Tonite With HSY. Unlike the previous episode in which Syra Shahroze and Alishba Yusuf gave people a great deal to talk about, Feroze Khan and Humaima Malick kept their answers short and to the point. Apart from this, HSY also did not try hard enough to get detailed answers from them maybe because they are all really good friends. Steering clear of controversial issues was one thing which stood out more than any other thing about this show. It also appeared like Feroze Khan and Humaima Malick knew what kind of questions they were going to be asked because the answers were too calculated and their thoughts too clear, they did not even take a lot of time to think about the answers.

HSY also asked them the ultimate question that why were their surnames different so that mystery is finally solved! Feroze and Humaima both talked about Feroze’s relationship status with Sajal Ali with caution. Both of them also rated Sajal a better actress, it was an awkward moment when Humaima said that Aisha Khan was the most overrated actress of 2016 since Feroze and Aisha are playing the lead in Aik Pal and they are getting along very well too. Feroze also gave Sajal the highest points among all the actresses he was asked to rate. He also said that Sajal is a better actress than Aisha Khan.

Humaima Malick said that she would love to wake up as Mahira Khan some day because she will get to work with Shah Rukh Khan then. Another awkward moment was when Humaima was giving Feroze clues to guess his own name and she said “jaan” – to which Feroze replied “Shan”! Humaima and Shan have recently done a movie together so this might create some controversy. Both the actors shared their feelings about negativity on social media and their opinions were poles apart. They also revealed what their future plans were.

Here are the most interesting bits from the show! Enjoy!

Sammi Episode 10 Review – Well-Executed

This was another impressive episode of Sammi which showed many different ways in which people are treated like commodities and they are deprived of their basic rights – the most basic right being the right to life and the right to freedom of action. Although this episode had tons of powerful messages which were put forward in a very subtle manner but my most favorite part was the one which covered the importance of a woman’s consent at the time of nikkah. We have seen many dramas in which women were forced into a nikkah most often by men who abducted these girls but not once did anyone mention that such a nikkah was not valid in the eyes of Allah. It was definitely something that needed to be highlighted, everything that the maulana sahab said in tonight’s episode was loud and clear and his refusal to be part of a nikkah in which a girl wasn’t willing to enter was my favorite part! I love how the writer in different ways keeps on highlighting the fact that Islam has given women a lot of rights. Salima’s dialogues that Allah was as much hers as He was Rashid’s was right on point! In the previous episode Naheed went to get a fatwa from the maulana sahab and whatever she found out clearly showed that she had a right over her parents’ property as well. I am glad that the writer reached out to the people by involving religion in this debate.

All the tracks are getting more interesting with every passing episode. Naheed’s nikkah was also an important development in this episode. Her conversation with Ghulam Rasool after they got married was so meaningful. They had done nothing wrong yet Ghulam Rasool was still insecure because someone who had been rejected all his life had a difficult time believing that for once he was accepted by someone. Also, the question he asked when Naheed said they would have children highlighted his own fears. Naheed and Ghulam Rasool’s relationship has to be one of the most perfect unions in this drama yet they have to hide their relationship. I never thought I would find myself rooting for an on screen couple like this one but here I am wishing and hoping that both of them get to live a happy life together in the end even if it means running away and starting a new life in a different city. Their dreams are legitimate but Naheed’s brother would much rather marry her off to someone who he can benefit from in some way too. Nadia Afghan is a personal favorite, she is one of those very few actors who can do comedy and serious roles both. I also like the actor who is playing Ghulam Rasool’s role, he is doing complete justice to the role assigned to him. The credit for this goes to the director as well and also the person who chose the cast. It is always good to see new actors in dramas who perform well.

Sammi Episode 10 Review - Well-Executed

Rashid and Salima’s track once again showed how Salima kept on trying to make Rashid understand that she could not bear any more of his children and Rashid’s frame of mind was also translated on screen brilliantly through his thought process. He wants a son only to please his mother! Rashid’s character is very interesting, he comes across as a person who might have a mind of his own but his sole purpose in life is to please the Chaudhris and his mother. He loves Salima but until she gives him a son they cannot have a normal relationship! Adnan Siddiqui has portrayed all the shades of his character impeccably on screen; his get up and acting both are perfect. I truly appreciate the fact that Saman Ansari is always experimenting with different roles which are never run-of-the-mill and she also has a very unique acting style.

Sammi and Chandni did not have a lot of scenes in this episode but the opening scene pretty much summed up Chandni’s state of mind and later on Salar’s proposal proved to be the final nail in the coffin. The opening scene was directed and acted out brilliantly. I absolutely love Sania Saeed in this role. Chandni has always made sure that Sammi stays within her limits and now that she can see that her son is showing interest in this girl, she wants to tell Salar and Sammi both that they come from two different worlds. She especially wants Sammi to know her “aukat”.

This episode ended with Rashid asking his mother for another “chance”! The preview of the next episode showed Chandni kicking Sammi out of her house and Rashid finally finding out where Sammi is. Haris Waheed is another actor who has always made his presence felt because of his realistic portrayals, I remember he was very convincing in Alvida and here he is playing a completely different role yet he seems to pull it off almost effortlessly. I am waiting to see how the story unfolds in the next episode. All the tracks are interlinked at this point and all of them are equally interesting. Sammi has a very intricate, gripping and meaningful script which so far has been translated on screen impressively too. We need dramas like this one to keep on reminding us that there are people out there who don’t even get the opportunity to fight for things which many of us take for granted.

Am I the only one who missed Chaudhry Nawaz in this episode? How many of you watched this episode? Do share your thoughts about it.
