Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 11 Review – Beautifully Overwhelming!
This episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat was absolutely & incredibly beautiful. This particular episode was a blend of so many beautiful emotions which were portrayed extremely well especially because they were related to Hammad & that is the reason why I found myself getting overwhelmed a couple of times. What I loved watching tonight in Khuda Aur Mohabbat was the realistic approach with which the emotions were conveyed; Hammad’s own emotions & the emotions of those people who are related to Hammad through the relation of love & respect, absolutely brilliant. Even though we saw a lot of flashbacks in this episode & for some people, it might make the pace of the episode a bit slow but to be honest, I didn’t mind it at all, for me, when something works, it just works & that is the reason why I am absolutely in love with this drama because everything is working, be it direction or editing or acting of all the actors. For me, Khuda Aur Mohabbat has turned out to be a completeeeee package & for that I thank the entire Team of Khuda Aur Mohabbat, thank you, well done & congratulations on exceeding the expectations that the viewers had with you guys & this project! :)
For me, the best bits of this episode were the conversations that Hammad & Najma shared, that was first time I found myself getting overwhelmed because Hammad could see the beauty of honesty & truthfulness in each & every single word that was coming from Najma. Najma does not have a child, but she has formed such a unique bond with Hammad that she has started considering him as her own son, which is absolutely beautiful & that is the reason we saw that Najma herself couldn’t hold her tears back seeing Hammad in pain. I loved the comparison that they showed between Hammad’s mother & Najma, yes, the fact still remains that Hammad’s mother might love Hammad more & she might be worried for him too, but the one who understood his pain, saw his sufferings & realized what he was going through like a mother should, it was Najma, that is why even Hammad couldn’t hold back & ended up sharing each & every little detail regarding Imaan & what he feels for her. Hammad & Najma’s conversation about defining the feelings Hammad has for Imaan was absolutely heart-touching & was so beautifully written. Hats off for the dialogue writer to come up with such meaningful & deep dialogues to add more charm to all the conversations.
Shakir’s concern for Hammad got the better of him & that is why on his family’s persuasion, he ended up contacting Ghafoor to find out where Hammad was. Nighat was right, she had to tell Hammad everything about what was transpiring in Imaan’s life as she felt it was important for Hammad to know. I absolutely love seeing how after regaining some strength, Hammad went to meet his colleagues. That scene was quite special too where Hammad was received with such a warm welcome. I absolutely love the warmth everyone has towards Hammad, there is something just so beautiful about it, because it goes to show that these people might not luxuries to offer to Hammad, but all they have is all sorts of emotions, which is exactly what Hammad needs. For Hammad to say that he didn’t want Ghafoor to treat him differently went to show how dignified he was & how he believed in equality. Hammad is trying hard to form an identity of his own & that is why the last thing he wants right now is to be treated differently because of the tag of being Commissioner Amjad Raza’s son, which is something that he has bid farewell to.
Hammad ended up meeting Nighat & found out that Imaan was going to get married to Abdullah. Even though that was a short scene but I liked the conversation between Abdullah & Tonga owner, it was like for the first time we were getting introduced to Abdullah in a different light & were getting an insight into him, putting the facade of him being a religious preacher aside. I know that particular conversation didn’t tell us much but for a change, it was nice. Anyways, as expected, Hammad couldn’t take the news of Imaan’s marriage well & it ended up taking a toll on Hammad. That scene once again was just so beautiful, heart-wrenching at the same time & overwhelming too. I hate to see Hammad getting defeated again & again & again. ‘Ye ma’amla hukum ka nahi, arz ka hai’, Hammad was still hopeful all this while but he got a final verdict, he got to know that his request was refused, it was rejected & there was no way that it will ever be reconsidered & that is something that Hammad couldn’t bear the burden of.
I absolutely loved seeing how each & every single person, Siddique, Najma, Shakir, Nighat, Ghafoor, Kheru, all of them were concerned about Hammad & that is why, Najma & Siddique decided to contact someone from Hammad’s family to at least help him in one way or the other. Kamran & Ebaad came to meet Hammad & it was actually quite nice to see Hammad getting a chance to explain himself once again. All he wants is his family to apologize to Molvi Aleemuddin, for insulting him & for accusing him of devising a plan along with Imaan to trap him. Hammad knows it is something that his family wouldn’t ever do, that is why he hasn’t even thought of returning back to his old life or his family!
It was impossible to not fall in love with a person like Hammad, who has gone to such an extent for his love, to prove that his intentions are pure, to prove to the entire world that what he feels for Imaan is something that can not be described in words, that is why as the episodes are passing by, we are getting to see how Imaan is falling deeper & deeper in love with Hammad too. Imaan sympathizes with Hammad & feels burdened seeing him suffer, but the reason why she sheds tears is because she is in love with him & she can not confess. Imaan felt like her heart would explode after all the details that Nighat shared about Hammad & that is only because she loves him but she can not say. Imaan hates seeing Hammad suffering so much because of her & may be that is why, she will end up fulfilling Nighat’s wish of having a conversation with Hammad only to tell him to stop punishing himself & to return back to his old life & his family.
Overall, this episode was absolutely beautiful. I love how realistically all the emotions have been portrayed. I must say, even though the dialogues have been a strength of this drama, but in this particular episode, each & every single dialogue was beautiful, it was meaningful & it had a depth to elaborate the emotions each & every character was going through. I loved the acting of all the actors in this episode too, like each & every character in this drama or story has a meaning, has a reason & contributes to the story in a very unique way. Najma is a friend, a mother & a confidant to Hammad, Siddique is like a father-figure to him, Ghafoor & Kheru are his well-wishers & are friends, Shakir is another father-figure who is concerned about Hammad’s well-being. It was absolutely beautiful to see how Hammad has touched each & everyone’s heart & life in such a way that their heart bleeds when they see him in so much of pain. I’d appreciate if someone will tell me the name of the actor playing the role of Shakir, because I find his acting just so beautiful & realistic, he has so much of pain on his face whenever he sees Hammad punishing himself, I just love each & every scene that Shakir & Hammad share. The actress playing the role of Najma has done such a wonderful job too, I love how she is authoritative for Hammad’s own good, she is like a sister, a friend & a mother to him which is heart-warming.
Now coming to the star of the episode, it was undoubtedly Imran Abbas, it is absolutely amazing how his eyes speak, I found myself shedding a tear or two when Hammad cried holding a hand of Najma as he found someone to rely on emotionally. In that particular scene, Imran Abbas stole the show. His eyes are just so expressive & even though I have said it before, I will say it again, there was no other actor who could’ve done justice to the character of Hammad the way Imran Abbas has done. Thank you so much Imran Abbas! Please share your thoughts about this beautiful episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat!
Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Khuda Mera Bhi Hai Episode 12 Review – New Challenges
One thing that stood out more than any other in this episode were all those positive characters who are fighting their own battles and are not trying to bring anyone down. Also, Mikael and Noor’s relationship was the highlight of this episode. The way Mikael went out of his way to make this kid feel special and the manner in which Noor reciprocated his feelings was truly touching. It is definitely great to see women like Mahi and Sanam who are secure enough to focus on building their own lives instead of blaming other people like Arshi and Zain for not supporting them. Also, Mahi’s reaction after she found out how Mikael felt about her was shown in an apt manner. She decided to distance herself from this man and was honest about the way she felt about this entire situation. There was no awkwardness about the whole situation, in fact both of them dealt with it like two educated and open-minded people would. Mahi is facing new challenges as Noor gets older because he is now in a position to assert himself and is a sensitive child who notices everything around him.
The scene in which Mahi remembered how Zain told her that his mother had given them her “blessings” was however blown out of proportion. The way everyone’s reactions were covered was somewhat strange. Also, I am having a very difficult time relating to Mahi and Zain’s situation. While I can understand that two people can go on loving each other for years but I find it hard to relate to the circumstances they are in. They see each other every day yet there has not been a single emotional moment in which both of them or at least one of them revealed their true feelings. Can anyone really be this patient?
My favorite scene of this episode was the one in which Mahi took her anger out on Noor after finding out that there might be “another woman” in Zain’s life. Mahgul sacrificed a great deal for her kid and she never regretted it for a second but this scene showed how difficult it was for her to even think that Zain might be moving on. Noor’s closeness to Mikael was reinforced through different scenes in this episode. Noor feels more secure with Mikael right now than he does with anyone else. I was hoping that the viewers will get to see Mikael’s back story in this episode but right now it seems like he does not have a story to tell although it does feel like there is more to his character than meets the eye.
Kashmala’s character and the make-up of all the ladies (with the exception of Aisha Khan) in this episode stood out like a sore thumb. Zain’s ujri hui halat hasn’t changed in all these years yet Kashmala somehow finds him attractive, maybe because he is a challenge for her! Although I am a huge fan of Irsa Ghazal but in some of the scenes she was too stiff. Her body language never changes no matter who she is talking to.
Am I the only one who found it somewhat odd that Zahir never took the food out of the bag? I think it would have been better if he took some empty boxes out if nothing else or if there was no food involved in that scene! Overall, although tonight’s episode wasn’t exceptional but it was interesting enough except for Kashmala’s track which is clichéd to the core. I am looking forward to Mikael and Zain’s confrontation in the upcoming episode. Does Mikael have ulterior motives? Is he really as nice as he appears to be? Watching Arshi spit venom yet again in the preview of the next episode made me wonder why she is getting so much screen time when she does not have anything new to add to the story at least for now.

Model Diya Ali Spills The Beans, Reveals More About Her Experience
Pakistani women have always made us proud in various ways be it entertainment or other professions, they’ve managed to do it all. The model Diya Ali recently made it to the Miss Asia Pacific 2016 and aims for Miss World 2017. She won the Miss Perpetual title at the Miss Asia Pacific World and is all set to shoot for her debut film produced by Sonia Ahmed. She also plans to take part in Supermodel International Competition in Bulgaria this year.
Images got in touch with Diya and here’s what we about the pageant winner:
Images: Why don’t you tell us about yourself? How did you enter this field?
Diya Ali: It was a very sudden thing actually. I just wanted to be an actress, maybe a model, that’s as far as I could dream. But someone from the textile industry saw my pictures on Facebook and messaged me, asking me to visit their office to take part in their campaign’s shoot.
I was really surprised, wondering how this could have happened. I remember visiting with my mother and thinking this is all true! Next day I did their shoot and things just started moving from there.
Images: What was the shoot for?
Diya Ali: It was a lawn campaign. The name was United Silk Clothing. Later on I walked on the runway for them as well.
Images: So modeling was not a dream of yours from the start?
Diya Ali: Not exactly, it wasn’t THE dream when I started. But when I entered the field and saw how it all works, I loved it. I want to work in the fashion world in a better way, maybe take steps towards projects on an international level. I want to be an example for others, those who keep themselves in one specific aspect of the field, I want to show them how we can and should work globally.
Images: Tell us about Miss Pacific 2016. How was your experience?
Diya Ali: The Miss Asia Pacific International 2016 contest was very challenging, having been the first Pakistani woman in Pakistan’s history to be selected as a contestant (and then a finalist!) in the oldest and world-renowned beauty pageant.
It was exciting but tough. I was on my own in a foreign land amidst strangers. I had never traveled abroad before this pageant and I was very nervous initially. I make friends easily so it became easier as the days progressed but the day of the pageant was tough, it took all my training to remain calm, composed, focused and pleased.
Images: Did you learn anything about yourself through such a new experience?
Diya Ali: The lessons I have learnt in this contest which I still remember and apply in life are: you are not better than anyone; you are your best when you remain peaceful and happy, and; that goodness is contagious.
Images: Considering you planned to model and act, what made you think about participating in a beauty pageant?
Diya Ali: Beauty pageants are a big platform for contestants today. They are opportunities to empower women with self-confidence. It can create many more opportunities for a woman to discover one’s own potential.
Images: Who took you to this platform?
Diya Ali: The two people behind my Miss Asia Pacific international 2016 success story are Sohail Rashid, who told me about this event, he is a well known PR rep. And Sonia Ahmed’s company [President of Miss Pakistan World & Mrs. Pakistan World] is also connected with the international project.
Images: So what lies ahead for you? What are your plans for 2017?
Diya Ali: I’m keeping an eye on the Miss World title! I want Pakistan to win Miss World 2017. That’s top priority for me. I really want to spread a positive image of Pakistan. After that I want to work in the Pakistani film industry as an actress. Who knows, I wouldn’t mind being a part of the Hollywood industry in the future.
Images: Do you have any plans of working in films/drama in future?
Diya Ali: I have done many serials for different channels, Mor Mahal, Bay Daro Deewar Ghar, Shehrnaaz, and yes, in Pakistan I want to work in films but it must be on good subjects and with an experienced and qualified team.
Images: How do you perceive the fashion industry in Pakistan?
Diya Ali: Pakistan’s fashion industry has grown a lot in the past few years and it continues to do so. I think it’s actually an important aspect of our economy. Look at all the Pakistani designers participating in international fashion shows. It really helps in painting a positive and healthy impression of Pakistan globally.

This Autistic Child Dancing To Tera Woh Pyar Is Heart Wrenching
A video featuring an autistic 7 year old child whirling to Song Tera Woh Pyar went viral and explains how music is an art and conveys hundreds of emotions at a time. Shaheer Azfar, fondly nicknamed Sheru, is a 7 year old autistic boy currently studying in a special-ed school. His mother Mahvish posted a video of Sheru twirling to the song with a heart melting yet strong caption.
‘The more we see them in their different colours the more acceptance we create for people who are differently abled.’
Speaking to MangoBaaz about Sheru, Mahvish opened up about her fantastic journey of raising a differently-abed child.
“Sheru is my second born, from the age of seven months, we noticed he was different. He didn’t make eye contact, didn’t fully recognize me as his mother. By age one, I was sure something was not right. By one and half, still; there were no words, a lot of hand flapping and toe walking. At two, we got our first Autism diagnosis. Since then, many people have been part of our journey, therapists, family and friends. Sheru is now seven years old.”
“When he was as young as three years of age, he had a musical ear and lived to spin to the rhythm. “
Today, Sheru is fairly expressive and can even say a few words, despite his non-vocal autism. He has overcome many challenges, which is a matter of immense pride for his family and friends.
“We have a long way to go and that can only happen with countless prayers. He is our blessing and there is not a single day we are not grateful to Allah. Children, whether they have special needs or typical, are all unique; they all deserve our attention and care. Once we adjust the lens of our expectations, the gray world converges into color,” she concluded.
Autism is a disorder characterized by impaired social interaction, verbal and non-verbal communication, and restricted and repetitive behavior.
According to a recent research on Autism, there have been 350,000 cases of autistic children in Pakistan that amount to a stark statistic of one out of 66 children being born with Autism or Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Arshad Khan Will Continue Shooting For His Debut Film
The handsome guy, Arshad Khan will continue shooting for his debut film Kabeer. Reports of him leaving showbiz and returning to his dhaba were surfing on the internet as one of his managers confirmed his departure from the Industry.
Soon after, the new statement released by his another manager popped out and confused us, but the recent reports confirm that Arshad will continue his career in industry and has been restricted to do any sort of intimate scenes. His family has allowed him to continue his career only if he doesn’t do any intimate or bold scenes.
“It all started when one of Khan’s team members leaked his photos on social media and showed them to his family members in Mardan,” Rizwan Kazmi, one of Khan’s two managers told The Express Tribune. “He belongs to a religious family so obviously the photos didn’t go too well with them and they asked him to quit immediately because it brought a bad name to the family.”
Kazmi further added that Khan has now convinced his relatives and promised his father that he will never perform intimate scenes or participate in an objectionable photo shoot. “We have also fired the person who leaked these photos from our team because Khan had no clue how and when the pictures were leaked and what this all could do to his reputation,” added Kazmi.
However, sources told The Express Tribune that Arshad has actually left the entertainment industry and is making an exception for Kabeer to avoid legal complications. “Khan along with six of his family members have signed a contract to guarantee his participation in the film Kabeer. 40 % of the shoot has already been completed while the second spell commences on January 20, ” said Kazmi.

Dil Banjara Episode 12 Review – Slow-Paced
This episode of Dil Banjara was slow mainly due to the focus on Taya’s efforts to ensure that Nida gets her share and Nida being unable to tell her father the truth about her fiancé but like every other episode of this drama there was nothing illogical about any of the latest developments. The entertainment factor however was absent from tonight’s episode. Apart from the breathtaking locations we saw in the past few episodes, the other good thing about this drama is that so far there is always a solid reason for every major development and most often it is spelled out for the viewers. Tonight everything which Taya abu had planned and executed was clearly shown through different scenes, although these scenes could have been chopped down a bit. Also, Zaman’s explanation as to why Nida’s Taya will have to do whatever they asked from him put things in perspective. The viewers heard from Sikandar himself why he decided not to take up his dream job, something which came as a complete surprise for someone like me who was expecting him to run away once again! Shama’s decision to let Sikandar go made up for all those scenes in which she was seen thinking about Sikandar 24/7 and did not ask him before deciding a date for the marriage. It is great to see a drama in which women are not desperately pursuing a man even though both of them like him. Mira Sethi is definitely doing a much better job in this play than she did in Jhoot. It seems like her heart was in this character, perhaps because it isn’t run-of-the-mill. Adnan Malik has his own style of acting which is unconventional but then there is nothing conventional about Sikandar’s character either.
Although it was somewhat frustrating when Nida was not able to tell her father the truth but the way the whole scenario was covered was convincing enough. There were a few scenes in which Sanam Saeed should have underplayed the becharapan because all the rona dhona didn’t quite fit in. Taya Abu’s decision came as a complete surprise but at the same time it was good to see him looking out for Nida the way he would for his own daughter. Phupo and her son are the only negative characters in this family, rest of the family members might have problems with one another every now and then but deep down they care for each other.
Zahra and Ayaz’s track is moving forward gradually. All the conversations in this episode in Taya’s house and in Ayaz’s house clearly suggested that the primary reason why Zahra cannot find a rishta and never got married to Ayaz was that Taya Abu does not want his girls to get married to anyone out of the family. So basically, even if a guy from the family is as twisted as Zaman he is more acceptable than anyone else who might be better but is not a close family member. Hina Bayat’s scenes were a treat to watch once again; I love the way this character is etched-out and the manner in which it has been translated on screen.
The last scene of this episode was the most shocking twist so far. I am wondering how this latest development will effect the story. Although this wasn’t my favorite episode of Dil Banjara but it was definitely one which gave me a reason to tune into this drama next week too. I have to say that Sanam Saeed and Adnan Malik make a great on-screen couple and I am missing their scenes together.
How many of you watched this latest episode? Do share your thoughts about it.

Nusrat Ara AKA Bil Batori From Ainak Wala Jinn Needs Our Help
If you grew up in the ‘90s, then you grew up watching Ainak Wala Jinn, a comedy serial that taught an entire generation how to dream. Boasting quirky characters like Charlie Mamu, Zakoota and the wise old Nastur Jinn, the show provided the ideal respite from the pressures of school and homework.
Amongst its memorable characters was Bil Batori, played by none other than the very talented Nusrat Ara. Although Batori was a negative character, Nusrat’s way of rendering her signature line ‘Bil Batori Nasa Chauri Adhi Mithi Adhi Kauri’ made us both laugh and cry at the same time.
Unfortunately, her stardom faded away as quickly as Ainak Wala Jinn’s viewership grew up. The actor, now 65, is struggling to make ends meet in a small rental home in Lahore’s Samanabad locality.
Originally a resident of Karachi, Nusrat relocated to Lahore about 30 years ago, hoping to further her acting career. Life took a turn for the worse once Ainak Wala Jinn ended, forcing her into unemployment and poverty. Decades later, Nusrat is still struggling. To make matters worse, she has developed depression and related mental disorders over the course of time.
Sad and dejected at how destiny took an ugly turn, Nusrat sits in a dingy room and narrates the story of her life. “I am ashamed of myself. I never thought my life would come to a point where I would have to beg for a morsel of food,” Nusrat tells The Express Tribune. “When I moved to Lahore, I didn’t think I would have to beg for my life. I have given my youth to the people of Pakistan, made them laugh while barely getting by myself. But who was there to help me? Who came to wipe my tears?”
Nusrat’s life hit rock bottom about three years ago when she was left with no choice but head to the shrine of Data Ali Hajveri for food and money. The actor had been begging there since, until she was brought to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital after collapsing out of exhaustion a couple of days ago.
“For the last three years, I have been completely dependent upon the shrine for food. I have done my best to fight against fate and am proud to say that I have never sought help from anyone but myself. But now, I have grown old and tired,” says Nusrat. “Right now, I am not even in a position to move my body, let alone pay the Rs10,000 rent due at the end of the month. I want to die in peace and request the prime minister to appreciate my efforts and provide me with medical help at least.”
She feels it’s cruel how the government has failed to take notice of her struggle over the last 25 years. “Is it not cruel that after four decade of serving the Pakistani entertainment industry, I don’t have a roof over my head and the government is not even bothered about that?” she asks.
“I am a proud Pakistani and don’t want to complain. But it’s about time that the government reflects upon how it’s looking after its artists and learns from what is happening around the world.”
The Ainak Wala Jin star attributes her financial struggles to the simplicity of the entertainment industry back in the day. “We were just focused on our work; we never paid much attention to finances or fame. While Ainak Wala Jinn was being aired, I was in a position to do something to secure my future but it never crossed my mind that I would eventually have to struggle this much,” she recalls.
“Other actors like Babu Baral and Mastana passed away in worse conditions. I suppose it was just my destiny that things turned out this way.”
This article was originally published at The Express Tribune.
As the news of Nusrat Ara’s such condition and health has come to light, Pakistan Baitul Mal has reportedly pledged Rs10 lacs for her treatment. It is sad to see how we’ve forgotten the stars who were once a reason of our smiles and laughs.

With the wedding season going on, the two are all set to exchange their rings tonight itself. The couple had their dholki on January 4th with just friends and families around making it a private affair. The pictures of Aiman and Minal dancing at the dholki are already surfing on the social media and they certainly had such a wonderful time.
Dumpukht- Atish-e-Ishq Episode 25- The awakening…
Haroon’s realization of Kulsoom’s situation was definitely a big change but it remains to be seen whether this will ultimately be a game changer. For now, Habibullah has everyone exactly where he wants them- seeing only that which he wants them to see. Haroon is helpless is his own way- he has nothing to hold on to except his Peer. I couldn’t help empathize with Haroon for his lack of self awareness- it’s almost like he struggles to analyze even the most straightforward situations. What justifies Habibullah’s mistreatment of Kulsoom? What is the reasoning behind isolating her from her family? What does Haroon think Habibullah will achieve by putting Kulsoom through this hardship?
After everything Tahira has said and done, I find it very difficult to relate to her restlessness. She has forsaken her role as a mother for some sick ego massage by being associated as a true believer of her revered Peer’s family. Had she spent a fraction of her time and efforts caring about her family, her daughter wouldn’t be at the mercy of a twisted man like Habibullah. With Wali as his faithful sidekick, Habibullah knows he can get away with murder.
Bibi has her doubts but she seems to think of her husband as some pious being who is incapable of deceit. Knowing that he still maintained contact with his ex not too long ago, surely the thought of his betrayal might have crossed her mind on multiple occasions but somehow that chapter is long forgotten. I found it annoying to see how the servants were abusing Kulsoom- and even more so when Bibi was investigating her. Like seriously, if they hate her so much, why not let her go and ruin her life as they’ve already disowned her?
I think Bilal deserves more screen time than Wali and Kulsoom’s family. I wish they’d stop relegating him to the background. I missed Nimmo in this episode too. Noman Ejaz has been exceptional as Habibullah and I’ve been hating on him with all my heart. Kulsoom’s struggle seems so real thanks to Sonia Mishal’s brilliant acting. I’m curious to see how Kulsoom manages to escape- I hope she doesn’t sacrifice her life to save herself. Habibullah deserves a severe ending and I’m beginning to want something similar for Bibi- her biggest flaw is her stupidity at this point.
Looking forward to next week and hoping to see more of Billu!

Sang e Marmar Episode 19 Review – *Hats Off*
This episode of Sang e Marmar has left me heavy-hearted, teary eyed & speechless. To be honest, this was for the first time that I wanted this episode to end quickly because I just couldn’t take everything that was being shown with so much of intensity & perfection as I felt that my heart would explode. All the expressions, all the emotions, each & every single detail was delivered with so much of perfection that it was actually heart-wrenching & so very realistic. What a family must be going through who lost so much in a split second was quite hard to imagine. This episode, like all the previous episodes was a masterpiece, in terms of writing, in terms of direction & in terms of acting. This episode definitely was the crux of the entire story. The way the director has brought all the viewers to this point, by giving us so much to form a connection with the characters, due to which we felt heart-broken at everything that we saw – for that he definitely deserves a standing ovation. The entire team of Sang e Marmar deserves a standing ovation for drawing all the viewers’ attention to it in such a way that at this stage we all are feeling heart-broken. Usually intense & serious dramas like Sang e Marmar are not my cup of tea but to be honest, I actually feel lucky that I am getting to watch & review a drama like this!
Thank you Team Sang e Marmar, thank you so much!!!
Torah Khan…finally this guy pulled the trigger & that too at such a moment when no one expected that to happen. Torah has always been one of those people who liked manipulating people into doing what he actually wanted & for that, he never really had to take matters in his hands, but this was for the first time, where he actually pulled the trigger himself. This goes to show how much hatred was brewing in Torah’s heart & how badly his ego was hurt. I know what Torah did was so not expected & is most definitely wrong, but somehow it makes him look justified because his character, since day one has been introduced to us as someone who is working towards his revenge. Torah hasn’t killed Safiullah over something so petty that he said to him a few days back, but he has actually done this as a result of constant insults, constant underestimation, betrayal, hatred that he, his mother & to some extent his sister has faced all their lives, all these years.
I love love love the way the character of Torah has been written by the writer, because throughout this episode, I couldn’t bring myself to see Torah the way I usually do, which is in a positive manner, but somehow I couldn’t hate him because his thought process has been made clear right from the beginning. I remember saying it in one of my previous reviews, so as a refresher as I will say it again, Torah’s character got shaped this way only because of what Gulistan Khan did, that too when he was 11 years old. An 11 year old boy saw his mother getting beaten to a point where she ended up losing her ability to move & then died in severe pain, so definitely what Torah did today was basically a reward Torah chose for Gulistan Khan for something that he did years & years ago!
Torah manipulated Safiullah to kill Saif ur Rehman & that wouldn’t have been possible without the help of Bulbul as well because even Bulbul has understood what Torah wants & he has understood that Torah is someone who will achieve what he has on his mind no matter what, that is why, Bulbul pushed Torah’s agenda & brainwashed Safiullah a little more against Saif ur Rehman. The time finally arrived when Saif ur Rehman had to face his fears & somehow he didn’t retaliate because even he was feeling unmotivated & defeated because of the guilt that was harboring inside him. Ever since Saif ur Rehman has gotten Shireen married to Safiullah, he never once felt at ease because he knew what he did was wrong & sadly it was his sister who was facing the consequences. The helplessness on Saif ur Rehman’s face actually made me shed a tear or two because he knew he failed, he failed at what he wanted to do, he failed as a brother as well & sadly, he surrendered. Even though Saif ur Rehman’s death was sad, but what made me even more upset was the fact that Saif ur Rehman couldn’t get to know who the girl was that used to meet Gohar. Sigh!
Gullalai’s death also came as a shock but somehow at that very moment, I felt that she would’ve died emotionally if she had found out that Safiullah was nomore, but yes, nevertheless, her death was sudden but tragic too. I liked the conversation Aurang had with her right before she died where she even apologized for letting her happiness get the better of her. I knew it, I just knew it that the last meeting of Safiullah & Gulllai was just too sweet but it had this feel of sadness attached to it, like it is something that I can’t explain in words, but that is the feeling I had when I saw that scene, because of which I kept on feeling that they will never get to see each other again & sadly, that is exactly what happened.
So, Aurang came with Gullalai’s dead-body & it was a shock for everyone. I know it will sound inappropriate but after such an intense scene, seeing Aurang getting beaten up by Gulistan, that too with Gullalai’s slippers was amusing. It was like Gulistan got a chance to use Gullalai’s death as an excuse to shed his frustration & anger at Aurang which he has felt all his life for him. Gulistan was never in favor of Gullalai going to the city to get medically treated & to see his rebellious son going against his wishes pushed him to such a level!
To be honest, my heart broke when I saw everyone waiting for Safiullah to arrive, so that he could make a decision about Gullalai’s funeral & burial but sadly, he didn’t live to do that. To see Torah Khan acting all normal & mingling with everyone made me feel how thick-skinned he was, where he just killed a man & was now acting to be all sympathetic towards his family. Gulistan unfortunately had to live another day where he saw another son of him losing his life by getting brutally murdered. Even though he tried to put up a facade but he broke down in front of the ladies of the family because even he couldn’t cope up with the fact that his family lost 2 members at the same day & probably at the same time too. Before learning the truth about Safiullah’s death, Sherbano didn’t leave an opportunity to spew venom against Gullalai, but she got defeated by karma because she also found out that she lost her brother too & if not Gullalai, she will be forced to do some mourning for Gullalai’s husband, Safiullah.
Saif ur Rehman also left a sister & a wife behind who would mourn his death. Everything that his wife said was actually true because Gulistan Khan guaranteed Saif ur Rehman’s life & Safiullah actually should have accepted that but it was Torah who manipulated Safiullah into believing that this guarantee didn’t apply on him as he wasn’t a part of the conversation. It was heart-breaking seeing Pari & Shireen mourning the death of Saif ur Rehman because now his death will haunt Pari for not coming clean with her husband & it will take a toll on Shireen because she will know that she has no one to return to.
This episode was the most intense episode of Sang e Marmar but it was directed with so much of perfection & detailing that nothing seemed out of place. Tiniest of details were taken care of like while shooting, Safiullah looked in front & then ended up looking at the floor, implying that Saif ur Rehman must’ve collapsed by then. The look on Safiullah’s face, where he couldn’t come to the conclusion why his trusted Torah Khan shot him was beautifully done too. I loved how all the scenes were short & to the point & we transitioned into a new scene quickly because a lot of detailing & explanation would’ve taken away the charm of the episode.
All the ladies; Sania Saeed, Kubra Khan, Uzma Hassan did a wonderful job. Another actor that deserves a special mention is Kaif Ghaznavi, she is a phenomenally natural & a flawless actor, like even though I know how negative & conniving she is, she made me forget everything & forced me to feel her pain of losing her husband, amazing amazing amazing! My heart broke when I saw Shameem grieving again, she was dealing with Gohar’s tragic death till date & now she lost her first born, Safiullah too, just a few expressions of Sania Saeed are enough to show what her character is going through & it is commendable. Noman Ejaz & Masroor Paras definitely did a wonderful job as always & Mikaal Zulfikar’s acting was amazing in this episode, where he depicted a heart-broken Aurang perfectly. Omair Rana’s acting was perfect as well & his character will be surely missed.
Now coming to the star of this episode, for me, for that split-second expression of helplessness on his face was Syed Tipu Sharif, he actually made me shed a tear at that moment whereas I usually can control my emotions but that look on his face just did the trick. Saif ur Rehman saw the death approach him but even though he didn’t feel like retaliating because he knew it was too late, he still wished Safiullah would let him go, that certain expression was a mix of so many different emotions that were running through Saif ur Rehman’s mind, sigh, absolutely brilliant! Thank you so much Team Sang e Marmar once again, the writer, the director & all the actors, thank you so much.
For some reason, I am unable to see the preview of the next episode because it hasn’t been uploaded, so I will appreciate if the readers do not discuss what is going to happen in the next episode in the comment section. Please share your thoughts about this intense & power-packed episode of Sang e Marmar.
Keep Supporting,
Cheers,

Shehrnaz Episode 10 Review – Mediocre
With this episode Shehrnaz turned into a star with all the perks and tantrums and most of this episode covered how she felt about KK. Even after knowing that he was married she continued feeling the same way about him. Watching Shehrnaz own her title as a star and making the most of it wasn’t surprising at all because it was completely in line with her personality. The jealous, insecure and over-possessive side of Shehrnaz however was somewhat typical. Shehrnaz is completely in love with KK, she wanted all his attention and found it hard to share him with his wife. KK’s dialogues made it clear that his relationship with Shehrnaz was completely platonic and although he said that he respected her a lot yet he never told her about his wife and son. I have to say that I wasn’t expecting this drama to be about Shehrnaz’s love life and right now while I am looking forward to how the story unfolds in the upcoming episodes, I am slightly disappointed with the recent turn of events.
Whatever we have seen so far suggests that Shehrnaz is not just another girl in KK’s life but she is someone who has changed him completely. Ayeza Khan and Aly Khan fit perfectly in their respective roles and their on-screen chemistry makes their connection relatable. The actress playing KK’s wife however is just as much of a misfit in this role as is the actress playing Naina Pardesi’s role. These women are supposed to be classy but the x-factor is completely missing from their personalities. Also, there is very little difference between Shehrnaz’s hero with whom she is shown shooting the film and the make-up artist!! It would have been great if Danish Taimoor made a guest appearance for this role, that would have saved his production house money and made these scenes more impactful.
Shehrnaz’s encounter with the rickshaw driver was rather unimpressive, it would have been far better if he stopped her instead of Shehrnaz telling him who she was. The encounter with Naina Pardesi however was definitely one which needed to be shown. Naseeb Gul got very little screen time in this episode. I definitely missed the father-daughter scenes. Shehrnaz’s scenes in this episode focused mostly on her feelings for KK and the preview of the next episode shows why most of these scenes covered only that.
Sherry is not out of the picture yet, I am wondering if at some point he will go back to Shehrnaz. There is no other reason why his track is getting ample screen time in every episode. Overall, this episode was strictly okay. Ayeza Khan looked beautiful as usual and she performed well too but right now Shehrnaz’s character lacks the spark which was a major part of her personality in the first few episodes. There was a time when she depended only on herself but now she is shown depending emotionally on KK and before KK it was Sherry. Right now Ayeza Khan and Aly Khan’s performances and their on-screen chemistry is the main attraction in the drama.
How many of you watched this latest episode? Don’t forget to share your thoughts about it.
Syed Noor’s Next Starring Shehroz Sabzwari and Sehrish Khan
Syed Noor is all set to start the shoot of his upcoming comeback film ‘Chein Aye Na’. The film has a huge cast of veteran actors Atiqa Odho, Behroz Sabzwari, Mustafa Qureshi and Nadeem Baig, Adil Murad in supporting roles where as Shehroz Sabzwari and current Miss Pakistan Sehrish Khan will play the lead roles.
THE FIRST LOOK OF ‘CHEIN AYE NA’
Talking to the media at the launch party of the film, the Lahore-based director said the new film is romance saga and will include some of the biggest names in the Pakistani film industry, both considered legends, and fresh faces.
With a fresh pair of leads and some amazing supporting cast, the movie surely is something to look forward to.

Choti Si Zindagi Episode 13 Review – Na Mehram Pulao!
Ghaaliban aap jaantay sub hain magar anjaan bantay hain – spot on, Sohail! Sohail is turning out to have more of a personality than just the class clown. I started liking him more when he helped Urwah get a job and accommodation and tried to make light of it when Urwah thanked him. And now his assessment of Urwah is definitely in line with my thoughts for really, what is Urwah up to? He is not as seedha as he tries to portray for if he was he would have told his new neighbours he is married. I will not stomach that he is ‘embarassed’ for he was given the opportunity to say so when his neighbour asked and also later on when her grandmother interrogated him. He is quite a dark horse, encouraging the neighbour, married to Ameena and lost in the thoughts – and letters- of Azra. Wah! I am not being judgemental, except maybe I am, it is just that I really want to like Urwah and do not want him to value Ameena after he has gone all astray but these aspects to his personality are not very endearing.
Speaking of endearing, Ameena has managed to win over her mother in law with her sweet nature. Just a thought – why is it in our dramas that either the husband loves his wife and the in laws hate her or the in laws love her and husband wants nothing to do with her? Why can there not be a win-win situation? I love Urwah’s father’s personality for while they love having Ameena around, he realizes her true place is with her husband which is why when he learns that Urwah has a place to stay, Ameena should go live with him. Ameena and Taayi’s bond is sweet, yes, and although at first I was a little skeptical and astonished at their joint reaction to this announcement, I still sort of understood Ameena’s hesitation. She had begun to develop feelings for Urwah but with his brisk response when she rang him and then as she says he never writes to her, who could blame her for not wanting to go live with him. Also, given how she is so young and quite naïve she does not really understand that being married to Urwah means living with him and that as comfortable as she may be with Taaya and Taayi she can not continue living like this for very long.
So, while Azra was on the brink of desperation she gracefully took her leave when she learnt Urwah is married. This new neighbour ‘Shabnam’ as Sohail called her (ha!) is definitely going after Urwah, full guns blazing. It would not be very hard to relate to her wanting to catch glimpses of the new, young male neighbour for like she says she is stuck at home all day and she is a young girl but the ease with which she teases Urwah and is literally throwing herself at him seemed a bit much but then maybe there are such characters in real life. Despite Naani keeping a stern eye on her granddaughter at first and voicing her reservations over Saiqa constantly finding excuses to meet Urwah, there still seem to be plenty of opportunities for the two to interact, especially now with Naani falling ill. Because Naani is unwell but korma and pulao tau zaroor banein gay!
Na mahram pulao! Sohail’s comments sometimes are truly funny but also hold a ring of truth to them. For yes, pulao is not na mahram (duh!) but Urwah is married and should make that very clear to Saiqa. Next week’s preview showed Urwah’s father traveling alone and I hope it will make him speed up sending Ameena to Urwah and not the other way around. I am not sure why he had to go alone anyway for although I had expected Ameena to land at Urwah’s doorstep this episode and even though she did not, the episode was not all that bad. I surely do not want to see more of Saiqa fawning over Urwah while Ameena stitches clothes for the entire neighbourhood! Waisay while she is at it, maybe she could stitch something for Urwah too, even if it is flowery for it would definitely be better than the beige/mustard shalwar kamiz he is mostly clad in!
The actress playing Saiqa is bearable – just about – but while Sohail’s grin makes me smile, her big smiles make me cringe and I wish her a speedy exit like I wished Azra! I like Serwat Nazeer’s dramas because they show how a couple interacts and grows together, well most of her dramas do so I am waiting for Urwah and Ameena to be together again soon. Save Sohail’s scenes which provided some comic relief this episode was just okay and am waiting for the story to move forward now. What did you all think of this episode? Would love to hear your thoughts.

Moray Saiyaan Episode 09 Review – A Feel-Good Drama!
Ohkay so, this episode of Moray Saiyaan was quite interesting. I like watching Moray Saiyaan for the fact that it is a feel good drama but I wish the focus on the older characters & their miserable lives was a little less because I watch this drama for the young characters & their stories. I think by now a lot has been explained & shown in a lot of detail as to what happened between all of them & why they drifted apart, so may be it’s time to come to a solution to all the issues & show us that at least someone is doing something to bring the entire family closer. To be honest, as much as I like this drama, I don’t see any reason for it to be exceeding the 16th episode mark because there isn’t much to the story, but I know these days it is not possible, which actually makes me a little skeptical about what they have in store for us to keep our interest alive in the show till the end.
So, Ghaziyan was trying hard to move on & he has only accepted everything after getting to know that even Zubaria wants Ghaziyan to get married to Nimra, which actually makes me question Ghaziyan’s stance & his determination. Just because Ghaziyan understood that Zubaria would never get married to him, he easily gave up thinking Nimra was the one he was destined to be with but honestly, it left me wondering where did that Ghaziyan go who was introduced as someone who only listened to his heart & who believed in having things his way. Also, I am not sure why Ghaziyan was blaming Zubaria for his misery because if there’s someone who’s to be blamed it is Ghaziyan himself, because he has not only upset is family members, he has also destroyed Zubaria’s reputation as well. While Ghaziyan is shown to be an intelligent & intuitive sort of a guy, I guess they should’ve also shown that before approaching Zubaria, Ghaziyan ended things with Nimra properly that too in front of his entire family so that none of them blames Zubaria for swaying Ghaziyan & his feelings. I think Ghaziyan should be mature enough to understand that his approach wasn’t right & he tried to go for something on his whim, without even considering what the consequences might be.
As much as I like Nimra, to be honest, I am not understanding her thought process too. Where in front of her mother, she jokes with Ghaziyan as his fiancée, then in privacy, she tells Ghaziyan that she never wanted him to get married to her by leaving Zubaria. Once again, Nimra came across as quite a mature person, so why is it that before cutting her wrist off, she didn’t think things through that this particular move of hers will put Ghaziyan in an awkward position & he will have to succumb to the pressures of each & every single family member. It is actually a little off-putting to see Nimra still trying to push her luck when deep inside she herself isn’t oblivious of the fact that Ghaziyan is not in love with her & most importantly, he is unhappy about the entire situation.
To be honest, as much coverage that all the elders are getting, their equations are getting uninteresting because all of them talk to each other as if they’re playing riddles & no one comes clean in their stance. Gul Zeb seemed completely oblivious of Kabeer & his whereabouts, till the moment he showed at her doorstep, then now she was handing him over the property papers saying that she was taking care of all that stuff for him, in his absence? I don’t really understand if this was the case, then how was Kabeer living his life while being cut off from everybody? One thing that actually shook me & made me detest Zakia’s character a little more was the fact where Kabeer discussed with Gul Zeb that Zakia was suspicious of the relation that Kabeer & Gul Zeb shared, because of which he didn’t divorce Zakia because he knew that if he would, she would find it as a validation of her suspicion that something was definitely happening between Kabeer & Gul Zeb. I think this sheds a light on how sick minded Zakia is, like she is just so bitter that in her bitter pangs, she ends up imagining such weird & bizarre things.
Well, another thing that I found a little odd was Kabeer’s opinion on Zubaria & Ghaziyan’s marriage, that Zubaria’s life will end up getting ruined if she will get married to Ghaziyan, not because of Ghaziyan himself, but because of Zakia because she will be around her? I think this was actually quite immature of Kabeer to say such a thing because why would Ghaziyan & Zubaria stay with Zakia for the rest of their lives? Also, just because Kabeer wants to save Zubaria from Zakia, he wants Ghaziyan to get married to Nimra, despite knowing that Ghaziyan doesn’t love his daughter Nimra & he is in love with Zubaria? I actually think a man of his age, who himself has experienced a dysfunctional marriage, didn’t look wise while saying such things. I find it actually quite amusing that each & every single person knows that Ghaziyan is not in love with Nimra, but they all still want both of them to get married, thinking things will change? Like what guarantee do they have!?!?!?!
Well, another thing that I found odd was that Nimra actually had to go through Ghaziyan’s phone to get Zubaria’s number, whereas they both are first cousins & in one of the previous episodes, Zubaria did suggest that she spoke to Nimra about this entire situation, so I am not sure why was it shown that Nimra had to take a longer route to reach out to Zubaria, like they are cousins so they both should be having each other’s contact numbers, right? Well Kabeer wants Ghaziyan to come to his house to receive his bride Nimra & that is why he put forth that demand but as always, Zakia depended on Waris to do the heavy-lifting & save the day by acting like her lawyer. Honestly speaking, I find it a little off-putting that Waris has no opinion of his own, it’s like he has allowed his beloved sister to wrap him around her little finger & use him like a tissue. Waris only voiced his opinion when he wanted to convince Ghaziyan to get married to Nimra & now when that has happened & Ghaziyan has said yes, Waris is silent?
Overall, this episode was good, I enjoyed watching the scenes of Zubaria & Ghaziyan, especially the one in which Ghaziyan was inquiring about Zubaria & later he was thinking about her, because the song that was used as a background score fitted the situation really well. Another loophole that I found was that Farah & Zubaria spoke about Farah being a gynecologist, so can someone tell me why was she attending Nimra & the cut on her wrist, lol? Anyways, as much as I really like how elegant all the ladies look, I really wish they hadn’t white-washed all the gents because they would’ve looked far more manly & graceful in their actual skin-tone. The acting of all the new comers has improved a lot I must say. Also, the preview of the next episode actually got me excited, because I am sure seeing Ghaziyan staring at Zubaria, Nimra would say no to Nikkah, but it forced me to think that if it wasn’t for Nimra, Ghaziyan would’ve gotten married to her & had lived his life without a purpose & a voice? Hmmmmm, as much as I like Ghaziyan’s character, it somehow puts him in such a light where he looks weak to me because he is coming across as someone who has no voice of his own & without a proper approach, he easily ends up getting pressurized into doing something which he doesn’t want. I think I would’ve liked him a little more if Ghaziyan had stood up for his love & had told everyone that if not Zubaria, he won’t get married to anyone, no matter what they say or what they do, because it wouldn’t have made him look selfish, but at least someone who had a mind, an opinion & a voice of his own & not someone who depended on others mercy. In short, I would’ve liked if they had shown that Ghaziyan had enough wisdom to approach things in a proper & appropriate manner. Anyways, let’s see what’s going to happen next week because I am actually excited for it. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Moray Saiyaan.

Kuch Na Kaho Episodes 18 & 19 Review – Emotions Running High!
I should keep a log. Or Mohsin should get a hobby. A new hobby that is. For now, he seems to have not much else to do but find new adjectives for Aina – none of them flattering. Along with Mohsin, Sajal should also find herself a hobby. She does seemingly nothing all day except pop up unannounced behind Aina with her ‘tum manhoos’ rant. Actually scratch that. For when she let her focus shift from Aina to someplace else, she has ended up with the ‘jaadoo tonay’. Sigh.
So quite a bit has been happening at Mohsin Villa. Tempers flaring, accusations being hurled and meltdowns. When Aina started telling Noman about her past, she barely got the beginnings of her story out and it was too much for Noman to handle. I am glad she decided to come clean and good riddance to Noman! Mohsin and Sajal are united in their despair for they were hoping to offload Aina on to Noman but she thankfully had the sense to see that hiding something big as this only for it to raise its head after marriage would worsen matters. Aina had begun to find a bit of her spark again for I loved the raised eyebrow and face she made when Mohsin said that accepting anything from her would be haraam for him. Seriously?! But the maid’s antics which led Sajal and Mohsin to blame Aina sent her back to being mazloom and weeping round the house. Sajal’s mindblowing latest accusation obviously was the last straw and sent Aina over the edge and although the whole scene in the rain was a bit dramatic it did not seem overly so especially as I could feel Aina’s frustration. She feels she is to suffer for the ‘mistake’ she made but there is only so much someone can take and with all the negativity coming at her from each direction, for Sajal to make a mockery of the one solid relationship in Aina’s life would send her over the edge.
I thought Mohsin was just a stern, negative man but I am beginning to feel that the background ‘evil’ music that plays when he is around is certainly befitting! When he walks up behind Aina when she is crying I wanted to scream, nahin bhai, Nadia nahin hai, and thankfully he heard me, haha! But what is with the uncontrollable anger and name calling. He is like Sajal where he shows up to throw in his two cents, his taanas and screeches and disappears again. He and Sajal seem more saggay to me – he and Faraz can not be brothers really!
Even though Sajal is negative as, well negative as negative goes and she is really crossing the line with throwing accusations left, right and center sometimes her comments made me laugh. For instance, when she said about Faraz wanting dinner, that ‘girlfriend nay lunch karwa kar nahin bhaija?’. Then when Aina said Mohsin does not eat ‘baasi khaana’ (food cooked in the afternoon – baasi? Really?) and Sajal quipped that now Mohsin will eat whatever is prepared for really with his wife gone and his ‘wonderful’ attitude, Mohsin is expecting a bit too much I would say! Her reaction to meeting Sabrina was so immature, I guffawed and even more so after Sabrina’s ‘tumharay shohar ko bulaoon gi’. What was that about, by the way?
Faraz seems to be the only one with a very sensible head on his shoulders. His shocked expression when Aina was blamed for the stolen money, his comments to Sajal and Mohsin and the way he tries to raise Aina’s spirits make me feel he is going to realise very soon that things need to change or I think Sabrina may just look like a very attractive option to him – job,Amrika and taana-less, the whole deal!
With emotions running high and Aina and Faraz beginning to lose their patience too, throw in the maid’s plans and it seems like there will be a huge explosion soon and I am looking forward to it. Next week’s preview showed Aina had more to say than just cry and suffer silently and I hope this does not blow up in her face and Mohsin and Sajal finally do back off. With so many people in one house and nobody having a life outside those four walls, it is hard to find time alone but seriously they should all start watching their backs – literally – from Sajal when she is pouring all that sugar in the tea/milk, to Aina when she is standing weeping in corners and even the maid when she is stealing!
Naveen Waqar continued to be impressive as Aina in these two episodes. The scenes where she has a breakdown and screams were done really well for she was screaming but it was not the shrill, unbelievable type, rather one could feel her desperation. I could not help being reminded of Sara from Humsafar though in the scenes where Naveen was wearing that black outfit when she speaks to Noman. Sajal reminds me of Tweety bird from Sylvester and Tweety who shows up big eyed everywhere gloating in her own goodness. I think all Faraz needs is to be taken by the hand towards an open door and be told something along the lines of ‘ja Simran ja – jee lay apni zindagi’ and Simran/Faraz shall gallop! I could understand Mohsin better if we were shown moments of slight regret of how he treats Aina and puts it down to his grief but his anger seems to know no bounds and I am not sure where all of it is coming from. Also, Emaad Irfani can not pull off the angry look so he needs to get past it and move on and start being nicer to Aina so that we can be nicer to him too.
Anyone else wondering how Aini and Imran are faring? LOL. Also, I guess baba ji is not very authentic for Faraz drank the ‘sugar-ed tea’ and Aina the ‘sugar-ed’ milk and both seem to not be very fond of Sajal anymore, ha! What did you all think of these episodes? Would love to hear your thoughts.

Muqabil Episode 5 Review – Power-Packed Performances
Tonight’s episode was intense with some superbly executed scenes to its credit. The director has made the most of natural sunlight and he has also made sure that the different colors used in all the scenes make every scene more visually pleasing which definitely helps since otherwise the overall feel of the play could have been too dark and depressing. For the first time the viewers are watching a play in which the victim is all set to damage the person who violated her in a way we have never seen on television before. Now that Pareesa and Mehmood’s past has been revealed, it remains to be seen how the story will be handled from here on. For all these years Pareesa was waiting for an opportunity which would be perfect for making Mahmood’s life hell. Once she is married to his son, she will be a permanent part of his life. Pareesa has also been shown as someone who is so damaged because of her parents’ neglect and the way she was violated in her childhood that she just does not care any more. The way Pareesa takes care of her servant’s daughter clearly shows that this is how she feels every little girl should be taken care of.
Mohsin Abbas Haider yet again was beyond impressive in this episode. Arman’s character is also one of a kind. It isn’t very often that we see such grounded men his age in our dramas who know exactly what they want from life. Any other man would have jumped at the opportunity of getting married to a girl like Pareesa but Arman knows his “auqat” only too well. His dialogues about how he was brought up in that house and the way he was made to feel were excellent. Mohsin Abbas’ body language was simply amazing in all the scenes. His performance is just as impressive as that of Asif Raza Mir which is truly remarkable.
Mehmood’s conversation with Pareesa showed that even today he is not ashamed of what he did to her. He actually used his terrible actions to dissuade Pareesa and that too in a threatening manner. This scene showed that although he was shown as an upright man but he was the exact opposite. So far the viewers had seen a very calm and polished side of him but his expressions when he threatened Pareesa said a great deal about what kind of a person he really was. Asif Raza Mir completely nailed that scene with those expressions! Kubra Khan has also translated a difficult character on screen impeccably. The hatred which Pareesa has been living with all these years is quite evident from her expressions. The scene in the pool was daring and creative, it was one of the best scenes of this episode.
Pareesa’s mother continued to act like she was in competition with her daughter and watching her behave like this makes it easy to understand why Pareesa could never confide in her. Although Pareesa’s father has been shown as a caring person but he has little or no say. While watching tonight’s episode I felt for Arman just as much as I did for Pareesa. He is definitely collateral damage and he has no clue why Pareesa is putting him in this situation.
Just like every other episode of Muqabil this one too had a mysterious feel to it and it also had some amazing performances to its credit. Kubra Khan, Mohsin Abbas Haider and Asif Raza Mir’s brilliant performances coupled with skillful direction make Muqabil a must watch. I highly recommend it to all those people who haven’t watched it yet.
