8 Recent Pakistani Dramas with Most Impactful Endings

Pakistani dramas now have a global audience. The content of the shows had become monotonous in the last few years but now new storylines are being introduced and we have seen some great shows lately with endings that remained us for a long time. An impactful ending can make an average show into a good one and we had some recent dramas with great endings.

From stories of a common household to true depictions of society, channels did come up with content which had the impact on the minds of the audience. Here is a list of Most Impactful Endings in recent Pakistani dramas:

Tan Man Neelo Neel

Tan Man Neelo Neel is a drama directed by Saife Hassan and written by Mustafa Afridi. The show aired on Hum TV and it was a mini-series consisting of only 11 episodes. Tackling the themes as dark as mob violence, murder and male rape, this drama still had a very fun and light vibe throughout its run. The performances were top notch and every scene was important. The drama’s ending however, takes the cake. It is one of the best ending scenes in recent dramas. Mob violence was brilliantly shown in the finale and Rabi, Sonu and Moon looked like real life victims. The audience cried and also gained lessons from the brilliant ending.

Mann Jogi

Mann Jogi is another Hum TV drama and the first in a trilogy in a mini-series based on mob violence. It was written by Zafar Mairaj and directed by Kashif Nisar. Starring Bilal Abbas Khan, Gohar Rasheed and Sabeena Farooq in lead roles, Mann Jogi is another Pakistani drama which dealt with the topic of wrongful Halala and mob violence. The last scene of this drama was incredible and it showed a ray of light on how the rightful intervention of religious scholars can save lives of mob victims.

Nadaan

Nadaan is also another recently concluded Pakistani drama. The drama was also produced by Sultana Siddiqui and it was the second in the trilogy. Directed by Mehreen Jabbar and written by Saji Gul, Nadaan has Ahmed Ali Akbar and Ramsha Khan in lead roles. Nadaan is a brilliant Pakistani dama which dealt with themes of drug consumption in society and mob violence. It had an impactful ending as it showed how the correct policing is necessary to avoid mishaps by angry mobs.

Zard Patton Ka Bunn

Another one from Hum TV, Zard Patton Ka Bunn is a Pakistani drama written by Mustafa Afridi and directed by Saife Hassan. It dealt with the themes of women’s education, lack of medical facilities in rural areas and child labour. Sajal Aly and Hamza Sohail led the drama and Sajal hit it out of the park with her brilliant portrayal of Maimoona. The last scene of this show made everyone fall in love with it. With Maimoona finally wearing her graduation cap and thanking all the supportive male figures in her life including her husband, father and nephew was a treat to watch.

Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum

Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum is the biggest Pakistani drama of the year and aired on ARY Digital. Written by Farhat Ishtiaq and directed by Badar Mehmood, it won the audience globally through its brilliant story telling and attention to details. Fahad Mustafa made a blockbuster comeback on television while Hania Aamir as Sharjeena also became a reason for this show’s massive success. The drama had a great run and the ending was also brilliant. The last episode was aired in cinemas and as Fahad and Hania hugged each other and cried, the whole nation cried with them.

Noor Jahan

Noor Jahan was a dark horse among the Pakistani dramas of 2024 that aired on ARY Digital. Starring Saba Hameed and Kubra Khan in the leads, it was written by Zanjabeel Asim Shah and directed by Musaddeq Malik. The drama seemed like any saas bahu saga that we see on our screens but it turned out to be a game of chess with a reflection of generational traumas and importance of not only loving but also respecting the girl child. The last scene with an unsaid understanding between Noor Jahan and Noor Bano was a winner for sure.

Khaie

Khaie is another drama that aired on Geo TV and it won the audience with its thrilling storyline. A new experiment with not much expectations as the audience could have taken it any way, Khaie turned out to be a winner with its great performances. A story of family rivalry with extreme gore and violence was welcomed by viewers who wanted to see something different on their television screens. The last scene when Zamda performs Khaie by killing Chinar Khan but decides to stop the cycle of violence there by leaving his young child alive and bringing him up with the right education was a chilling and exciting scene.

Jaan e Jahan

Jaan e Jahan marks the comeback of Hamza Ali Abbasi on television. He starred opoosite his Pyare Afzal co-star Ayeza Khan. Written by Rida Bilal and directed by Qasim Ali Mureed, this drama aired on ARY Digital and received good ratings and views. The ending was iconic as Pyare Afzal fans finally got the ending they deserved with Ayeza and Hamza ending up happily in a pakistani drama after they had to wait for a decade.

8 Pakistanis Make It To Top 50 Asian Stars Of 2022

Asjad Nazir from Eastern Eye has published the list for top 50 stars of 2022. The list always acknowledges people who have done great in the entertainment industry and every year the biggest stars of Asia make it to the list. This year’s Top 50 Asian stars include 8 Pakistanis who were part of huge projects and their work was acknowledged nationally and internationally.

Here are the Pakistani stars who made it to the list:

Fawad Khan:

Fawad Khan achieved second rank on the list only beaten by Ram Charan and NTR who were the stars of critically acclaimed movie RRR. Fawad Khan came at No. 2 due to his film Th Legend of Maula Jatt and a wonderful cameo in Ms Marvel.

Atif Aslam:

Atif Aslam ranked 13 due to being the most streamed artist of the year and making his debut in Sang e Mah.

Sajal Aly:

Sajal Aly made it to the 16th rank due to her big debut in Jemima Khan and Shekhar Kapur’s What’s Love Got To Do With It.

Arooj Aftab:

Arooj Aftab became the first Pakistani female musician to win a Grammy and made it to rank 38 of the list.

Hadiqa Kiani:

Sold out concerts, a great performance in Pinjra and foremost her work for the flood affected victims of Pakistan got her rank 40th on the list.

Humayun Saeed:

A hit film London Nahi Jaunga and his role as Dr Hasnat Khan in The Crown got him 45th rank on the list.

Ali Sethi and Shae Gill:

Ali Sethi and Shae Gill’s Pasoori got them both on rank 46 on the list.

Year 2022 was great for Pakistani entertainment and many of our stars broke out on the international scene with 8 of them making it to the Eastern Eye Top 50 Asian Stars List as well!

8 Pakistani Actors Who Called Out Nadia Khan

Nadia Khan is an actress, host and now critic. She has been in the news a lot lately due to her comments on several shows that she has been critiquing to her open opposition of stars who were not very vocal during the India-Pakistan conflict. She has not backed down and she is also letting other people know that she stands by her opinions.

Several celebrities have called out Nadia Khan till now and here is a list:

Yasir Hussain

Nadia Khan had criticized Yasir Hussain’s drama Paradise. The show stars Iqra Aziz and Shuja Asad in the lead but it did not attract the audience towards itself. Nadia was also not happy with the show and gave very low scores to it on her show Kya Drama Hai. Yasir did not agree with her assessment and called her out on it. This is what he said:

Sarwat Gilani

Sarwat Gilani also called out Nadia Khan recently. She said during an interview that she will advise nadia to stop criticizing stars like Fawad Khan so harshly and not play a mohallay ki aunty. She can use respectful terms when she is talking about the stars of the country even when she is calling them out:

Saba Faisal

Saba Faisal recently took to Instagram and defended Ayeza Khan against Nadia Khan’s comments. Nadia had stated that Ayeza is always discussed for her beauty and never for her acting. Saba did not like it and shared that Ayeza Khan has proved herself to the world and how can someone say she only cares about getups. This is how Saba Faisal replied to Nadia Khan:

Hiba Bukhari & Arez Ahmed

Hiba Bukhari and Arez Ahmed came face to face with Nadia Khan when she announced their pregnancy before them. She shared the news on her show Kya Drama Hai where she was reviewing Hiba’s project. The couple was taken a back and played it cool initially. Later on they announced the news themselves when everybody already knew. The couple later on shared that they were not happy with what happened and everyone should know basic courtesy:

Javed Sheikh

Javed Sheikh addressed Nadia Khan’s criticism of Faysal Quraishi on Raaja Rani. She had shared that Faysal has used too much makeup and he is not looking great. Javed Sheikh worked with Faysal in the show and played his father. He said that Faysal has not put on makeup and criticism for the sake of criticism is wrong. This was his point of view:

Adnan Jilani

Adnan Jilani said that he met Nadia Khan in an event where she was loving his work in Bismil. He also mimicked her while he said that he worked a supporting role because it has margin while he was criticized for it. Nadia praised him on his face:

Shizza Khan mocked Nadia Khan and said that she has seen her critiquing other people’s work. All she knows her is from that birthday song that she used to sing in her morning show on Geo.

Aftab Iqbal

Aftab Iqbal also apoke about nadia Khan. He said that Nadia started her career as a host with her show Kaliyan. It was an instant hit in the beginning as Nadia Khan brought a certain freshness. Later on it started becoming fake but producers let it run as Nadia had started it in a down time of the channel.

With Independence Day just around the corner, I thought I’d compile a list of dramas that boost the spirit of patriotism in me and I am sure, in all of you too. Pakistan is the best country in the entire world_ maybe not in development, maybe not in education, but in patriotism. All the Pakistanis are connected to their roots in one way or another and can never move away for them even if they try. While there are hypocrites who try to undermine Pakistan in every way, there are people who love Pakistan from the bottom of their hearts and above all, there is Allah who will not let us falter until we have complete faith in him.

It was extremely hard for me to choose which show should go at the top. After spending a lot of time thinking, I decided to give the first place to a real story:

1. Sipahi Maqbool Hussain:

ISPR and Interflow Communications Limited presented the story of Sipahi Maqbool Hussain, directed by Haider Imam Rizvi. It is about how Sipahi Maqbool Hussain ended up in an Indian jail and how he was abused for 4 decades for being a Pakistani and denied “Prisoner of war” status. The main lead was Hassan Niazi as young Maqbool Hussain. Other actors were Raja Haider, Batin Farooqui, Riaz Mastana, Reeja and Ghazala Butt.

Sipahi Maqbool Hussain was captured during the 1965 war. He was abused and asked for identity but he kept writing No.335139 as an answer. He was tortured to an extent when even his toe nails and tongue were not spared. He still wrote “Pakistan Zindabad” with his blood. After 4 decades he was sent back in mentally disoriented state but no one from his family, his mother or brother, were alive to receive him. He scribbled his story of abuse in bits and pieces in front of the psychiatrists who attended him. The last scene showed the real Sipahi Maqbool Hussain being given flowers and respects by the army.

The actor playing the role of older Sipahi Maqbool Hussain also did a commendable job.

The real Sipahi Maqbool Hussain was given a VIP suite by Ex-President Pervez Musharraf. He sleeps on the floor and stays away from bright lights. He likes to remain in the dark corners of the room. Such was the impact of torture on him.

We will always respect you Sir!

2. Alpha Bravo Charlie:

Alpha Bravo Charlie was created by ISPR and Shoaib Mansoor. It is the tale of the friendship between Faraz (Faraz Inam), Kashif (Captain Abdullah Mehmood) and Gulsher (Capt. Qasim Khan). Faraz was the rich and handsome one , Kashif was the funny one and Gulsher was the serious and shy one. Another character is Shehnaz (Shehnaz Khwaja) who had a lot of effects on their lives.

The patriotic spirit this show gave the audience was long lasting. Kashif, who initially was not intensely devoted to the army, proved his worth by killing an entire team of Indian soldiers at Siachen. He lost his arms and legs due to harsh weather conditions.

Gulsher fought the Serbs in Bosnia and was captured. He later tried to run away but was again caught and this time, martyred.

Faraz did not get assigned to any combat but he took part in charity works.

Shahnaz did not stop searching for her husband but could not succeed. She returned to Pakistan. Later she permitted her only son to join the army as well. What a wife and what a mother!

The show aired on PTV but after many years Geo Ent. also aired it.

3.Wilco:

Wilco which aired on PTV was produced by the ISPR alongside 7th Sky entertainment. It was directed by Ahsan Talish and written by Mohammed Ahmed. The cast consisted of some big names; Humayun Saeed, Adnan Siddiqui, Ahsan Talish, Laila Zuberi, Ainne, Amna Sheikh, Beenish Chauhan, Imran Abbas, Zainab Qayyum. The story was deep and there were many sidetracks beautifully woven in. It showed how the army not only defends Pakistan against enemies but also rushes to help during natural disasters. There were some scenes between Imran Abbas’s character and Annie’s character which were cute and funny. Humayun Saeed’s death in the end made the audience sad :( but showed the sacrificial nature of his character. He let the helicopter go without him because he knew that his climb would consume a lot of time. The avalanche could damage the helicopter and kill the injured people inside it. He killed an enemy before being consumed by the storm.

4. Dhuaan:

Dhuaan aired on PTV. Directed and produced by Sajjad Ahmed, the story was originally in the form of an english novel written by the lead actor Ashir Abdul-Azeem himself. He dramatized it later. The other actors include Nabeel (we all know him from Bulbulay ;) ) Asal Din Khan, Abdul-Wajid ,Nazli Nasr and Zubair Khan Achakzai. The five college buddies united in Quetta after many years and made a plan to dedicate their lives to Pakistan. Azhar (Ashir) was already an ASP. The others also trained themselves and learned to use weapons. Eventually they were offered a case of narcotics which was supposed to be kept secret from local police. Then followed a lot of action and thrill and finally after succeeding in their mission, all of them embraced martyrdom. The audience wept as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s “Kisey da yaar na wichdey” was played in the background.

5. Dastaan:

Hum TV’s Dastaan was based on Razia Butt’s novel and dramatized by Sameera Fazl, Dastaan was a one-of-its-kind serial. Haissam Hussain directed it. The main cast had, Sanam Baloch, Fawad Khan, Saba Qamar, Ahsan Khan, Mehreen Raheel, Samina Peerzada and Abdul-Qavi Khan.

Bano was the strongest character I saw on TV. She went against her brother’s wishes to prepare banners for Pakistan movement. She supported the creation of Pakistan with all her heart. She had never even thought her life would take such a tragic turn. After partition of India, Bano’s parents, brothers and sister-in-law were killed. She was kidnapped, tortured, forced to convert to Sikhism and married to a Sikh. Even so, her faith remained unshaken. This drama was a lesson for every Pakistani to acknowledge the sacrifices made for their country and love their country till their dying breath.

6. Khuda Zameen Se Gaya Nahi Hai:

This ISPR project aired on PTV and Hum TV simultaneously. Asghar Nadeem Syed took the responsibility of writing it and Kashif Nisar handled the diirection. It emphasized on the enemies who are cutting Pakistan from its roots. They are showing Islam as a terrorist religion. The show highlighted Pakistani army’s efforts to rid the country of them. It covered the issues of bombings of mosques, hotels and schools to killing of women who stepped out of their houses only to earn for their orphan children. It showed how some people claim to be religious when they even don’t let their own children (especially daughters) study. The cast included Jibran, Sara Chauhdry, Ayub Khoso,Nauman Ijaz, Ayesha Khan and Irum Akhter. Jibran’s character was a true patriot.

7. Jaan Hatheli par:

The show aired on PTV and Urdu 1. Story and direction was from Syed Husnain Abbas and Shamim Bazil penned it down. It emphasized the war against terror done by the security forces in Balochistan. For a long time, the people of Balochistan have been terrorized and this drama told them that they are a part of Pakistan and Pakistanis don’t abandon their brothers :) The main cast included Asad Malik, Nadeen Baig, Noman Ijaz, Shamoon Abbasi, Madiha Iftikhar and Myra Khan.

8. Sunehre din:

This drama which also aired on PTV was on a much lighter note. It was supposed to inform the viewers about the life of the young cadets of Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul.Saleem Sheikh’s character went against his mother’s wishes to join the army. Had he known what he was getting himself into! The senior officers were pretty harsh on him and the other new guys. But then again, this is the Pakistani army we’re talking about! They got to be tough and well-prepared for any challenge. The scenes that followed were funny and I had a lot of fun watching them along with feeling a little bit sorry for his troubles :P The night before promotion, our hero and his friends took all the revenge they wanted to take. For one night, the seniors transformed into juniors, and the juniors into seniors. Bas phir kya tha? The revengeful feeling could not be suppressed any longer!

This was the list of dramas I find most patriotic. What did you think of the list?

In the end, I would like to say that please pray for your country on this Independence day. Love your country and never utter any bad word against it because it has been made after a lot of sacrifices. The ones shown in Dastaan were hardly 5% of them. Not only before partition, but also after so many years, Pakistani army and the common people are fighting, struggling and laying down their lives against terrorism. The least you can do is love your country and pray for it. What if Pakistan is not as developed as others? What if it has corruption? We are the ones who can develop it. We are the ones who can finish the corruption and the first step has to be taken by you.

Yes! You! The one sitting in front of the computer/laptop reading this. Stop the corruption. Start by not throwing wrappers on the streets. Start by talking politely to your fellow Pakistanis (whatever language they speak). Start by helping the poor. Start by educating yourself and then educating others.

Most importantly, forget that you are an Urdu-speaker, Sindhi speaker, Balochi speaker, Pashto speaker , Punjabi speaker, Kashmiri speaker and so on. The list will never end but your country will (Allah na kare) end if you keep thinking like this. Start introducing yourself as a Pakistani only. You may have a different language, but not a different identity.

Pakistani television has also been known for some great shows and good Pakistani hosts since its inception. Some big live shows like Neelam Ghar and the ones hosted by legends like Moin Akhtar were always respected and loved. The formal way people talk on television and many times reveal stories about their lives make them fan favourites. With the advent of social media, live shows have also become vehicles for controversies and many celebrities find themselves in hot waters after appearing on certain shows.

A host has the ability to show how their guests in a certain light and many of our hosts have the ability to bring out the unknown facts and sometimes the worst in a guest. Yes, the responsibility of not saying what should not be said lies on the guests but it says a lot about the ability of a host to bring the worst out of a guest. Here are some of the famous Pakistani hosts who have conducted some really controversial shows:

Nadia Khan

Nadia Khan is considered the queen of morning shows in Pakistan. She has been hosting since she was very young and she has a specific style of conducting a show. She keeps everything light and breezy and she does not shy away from joking about her guests. She is also an actress and a critic now. She has done many controversial shows in her career. Her fight with Meera was legendary and people still remember it. Last year she revealed Hiba Bukari’s pregnancy on her review show and defended her decision of announcing it before the couple. Nadia Khan is a very successful yet borderline controversial Pakistani host who still remains on top of her game.

Nida Yasir

Nida Yasir is the host of the longest running morning show and her show has been the breeding ground of hundreds of controversies since its inception. From celebrities like Shabbir Jan walking out to F1 formula memes, Nida is another Pakistani host who has been at the center of many controversies. Her show with a child rape victim’s parents was so bad that she got massive backlash online. She is still thriving and she has gotten better at handling guests lately.

Ayesha Jahanzeb

Ayesha Jahanzeb is a Pakistani host and anchor who rose to fame in a relatively short period of time. She did a comedy news show as a co-host and later on jumped into individual hosing. Her show Chocolate Times brought her fame and also brought a lot of fights and controversies in the industry due to the kind of questions she asked from the guests. She recently hosted the infamous Taghut show with Khalil ur Rehman Qamar and Sahil Adeem.

Sohail Warraich

Sohail Warraich is counted among the most successful Pakistani hosts and anchors. His show Aik Din Geo Ke Saath is a classic and his interviews reaching into actresses and artists bedrooms and bathrooms brought a completely new vibe on television. He is known for his distinct style of speaking and invasive questions which end up becoming controversial. He has gotten away with asking some really personal questions from actresses including why they have big bathrooms in their houses.

Kamran Shahid

Kamran Shahid is another Pakistani news show host who has worked in the industry for two decades now. He has conducted some really controversial shows including of allegedly kidnapped people. His biggest controversy always comes with his father’s ex-alleged affairs and he ended up speaking to his father about them on national television which received severe backlash. He is still thriving and doing his job.

Mathira

Mathira is another star who started her career with hosting. She has dabbled into acting but she has mostly been a host throughout her career. She is known to be one of the most controversial Pakistani hosts. She had so many adult jokes in her late night show which she could not understand due to language barrier. Even nowadays we get to see clips of her show going viral for content.

Ahsan Khan

Ahsan Khan is one of the biggest stars of the current generation but his ability as a host cannot be denied. The star has hosted shows and transmissions and his show Time Out with Ahsan Khan brought out so many secrets and fights. He knows how to make his guests comfortable enough that they slip facts and he does it regularly.

Fiza Ali

Fiza Ali is an actress, singer and host. Her hosting comes under fire from time to time as she does controversial stuff without even realizing it at times. She currently got a lot of backlash for adult talk on national television that too in a morning show. She says whatever is on her mind and ends up getting viral on the internet.

We’ve all been complaining for a while now about the efforts directors and writers to establish sisters as enemies who should keep their husbands locked away. If a sister was the least bit negligent, her husband would definitely be stolen by her sister held a grudge against her from the day she was born. I decided to make a list of sisters from our dramas, who loved each other and set examples.

1. Lubna and Farah from Pyaray Afzal:

Performed by Sana Javed and Ayeza Khan

Farah is bold and sometimes really harsh. Lubna is confident but kind. Both of the sisters light up the screen with their chemistry. Their interactions are sometimes sweet, sometimes bitter, yet always succeed in convincing us that they must me real sisters ;)
P.S: I really appreciate that Lubna is trying to make her sister to accept her love for Afzal :P

2. Kashaf, Sidra and Shehnila from Zindagi Gulzar Hai:

Performed by Sanam Saeed, Mansha Pasha and Sana Sarfaraz

These three were sisters who had been abandoned by their father for being daughters. But this rejection drew them closer to each other and at last, they proved that it is not shameful to have a daughter. They made their mother proud.

3. Tooba and Hiba from Ranjish Hee Sahi:

Tooba and Hiba had a LOT of differences but did those stop them from loving each other to death? No!
These sisters went through many difficult phases in their lives. From the death of their mother to losing their house and then facing people who could harm them but their bond never weakened. Even when Hiba discovered that her sister was in love with the man who had rejected her, she did not have any ill-feelings towards her sister.

4. Maya and Zarminey from Meri Behan Maya:

Performed by Annie Jaffery and Neelum Muneer

How a sister can tear the world apart for another one was beautifully depicted in this serial. Maya got kidnapped by her step-mother’s son and Zarmina struggled with every obstacle to find her.

5. Zara, Aasma and Mano from Daam:

Performed by Sanam Baloch, Nimra Bucha and Pariza Hashmi

The chemistry between these three sisters was adorable Mano was mentally challenged and Zara did everything she could to make her happy. Aasma was tensed about her future ans Zara always strenthened her spirit. The bond between these three never failed to make me feel for them and relate to them.

The logo made by Saba Zama, a student of NUST University, for Pakistan’s 70th Independence was highly criticised for its simple and disproportional design. It was surprising for several people that this logo was selected in the Independence Celebration logo competition which had more than 400 entries. Many believed that even an amateur designer could do a better job than this!

Starting his acting career in 2016, Bilal Abbas Khan in a short period of three years has arguably become one of the most talented actors in the industry, ruling the hearts of Pakistani drama lovers with his stylish looks and fine acting. He has received the award for the Best Actor in Social Media Awards for Balaa and has always received many praises for his work.

This time around this good-looking celebrity chose to use his devil-may-care looks to play the antagonist in ARY Digital’s currently aired drama serial ‘Cheekh’. The serial has kept the audience gripped to its storyline from the very first episode, and Bilal Abbas Khan is one of the biggest reasons for its success. 28 episodes down, there are numerous scenes which are a visual example of his excellent acting skills, making us hate Wajih to the core, yet appreciate the convincing skills displayed by Bilal Abbas Khan.

Just after the truth gets revealed, there is a humongous change in innocent’s Wajih’s personality, whose presence only is generating negative vibes now. A part in episode 7 where Wajih goes to Ramzan Ahmed’s house to bribe them to stay quiet, caught our attention. Ramzan Ahmed is furiously shouting at him, asking him to leave, calling him a murderer,andWajihin return is absolutely calm. Unperturbed, he just keeps increasing the amountof money, knowing how it’ll be easy to manipulate Nayab’s step-mother with it. The scene showcases aspectacular performance by Bilal. The way he is unruffled and composed throughout, all the while managing to radiate an evil energy from him, is acting on-point!

3. A Silent Wajih with Black Ink Smeared all over him:

A scene in the same episodearrives whenRamzan Ahmedsneakily gets into their house and throws black ink on Wajih’s face before running away. The scene has no dialogues from Wajih, but the anger in his eyes is enough to grasp the audience’s attention and nonverbally perfectly communicate his sentiments at the moment. If you watch it, you wouldn’t be able to take your eyes off him!

4. Wajih – the Blackmailer

The best thing about Bilal Abbas Khan is that the versatility in his acting can be witnessed easily in any particular scene: where at the beginning of the episode he might seem like the sweetest person on earth, the scene progresses and his reality comes forth in a brilliant show of acting excellence.

Most of the time her acting is the opposite of effortless; she fails to make her roles appear natural and seamless. Yet, she is another favorite of many of the leading production houses!

Alizeh Shah

Alizeh Shah entered the drama industry when she was really young. Her first television appearance had us convinced that she had what it took to be a remarkable actress. Honestly speaking, she also has the talent but what makes her overrated is her non-seriousness towards her craft. She chooses to play similar roles repeatedly. Alizeh Shah’s wardrobe choices in her dramas also show that she is not interested in putting in a lot of effort to perfect the look of her characters in dramas. The hyper-focus on gaudy make-up to make up for the lack of wardrobe is another reason why it is impossible to take her seriously as an actor. It is sad that someone with so much potential has completely ruined their actual talent because the production houses pamper her needlessly. Alizeh Shah’s entire career is an example of why not to pamper an actor more than they deserve! Production houses love her but we think she is a lost cause thanks to this pampering. The favoritism from the industry may have hindered her growth and credibility as a performer.

Dur e Fishan Saleem

Dur e Fishan Saleem is another favorite nowadays who has played the leading role in the popular drama Kaisi Teri Khudgharzi and made a big name for herself. Her styling, make-up, and wardrobe have improved a great deal and now in Jaise Aap Ki Marzi she looks her best. However, these beautiful looks do not make up for her limited range as an actress. In Jaise Aap Ki Marzi there have been so many instances when she failed to meet expectations. Although she has been given the perfect opportunity to play a strong woman on-screen, she has messed it up multiple times. Dur e Fishan’s dialogue delivery lacks clarity in many scenes and her expressions are also not impactful enough. She does not add the appeal to her characters which can make them memorable. Even though she is another favorite among the producers, we think she has a long way to go!

Zaviyar Nauman

Zaviyar Nauman is the new ladla of the Pakistani drama industry solely because he is Nauman Ijaz’s son! This young man has played a leading role in multiple big dramas in a short span of time and it is difficult to say which performance was the most underwhelming one. The honest and brutal truth is that if he wasn’t Nauman Ijaz’s son he would have ended up playing supporting roles in soap serials for years! Yet, he has been awarded, appreciated, and promoted by the top production houses in the country in a short span of time. Out of all the actors on this list, Zaviyar Nauman has to be the most overrated, and his status as the star son who gets royal treatment goes to show how the showbiz industry works!

Arsalan Naseer

Arsalan Naseer was recently given the best actor award at the Lux Style Awards and we were left wondering who voted for him because clearly, he does not have a single decent performance to his credit. Arsalan Naseer delivers his dialogues in the most robotic manner and always fails to align his expressions with his dialogues. He lacks the talent and screen presence to play leading roles in dramas yet he is on a roll! He is another actor who will probably be getting many more leading roles because success as a YouTuber or social media star now makes up for the complete lack of talent in the drama industry.

Khaqan Shahnawaz

Numerous Pakistani actors have spoken about the advantages of having a fair complexion in the Pakistani drama industry. We are guessing that this preference for fair skin is the likely reason behind Khaqan’s frequent casting in various acting projects. We understand that there is a dearth of young actors in the industry but surely if the producers search more seriously, they will have better choices at their disposal. Khaqan Shahnawaz is still in the process of learning how to act yet he is already getting big projects and prominent roles. The production houses also promote him as if he has what it takes to make it to the top but we beg to differ.

While there are many other actors in the drama industry who do not fall in the ‘best’ category, the actors on this list are those who are treated like star actors even though their acting skills leave a lot to be desired.

2016 has been a year of many highs and lows. As we said good bye to 2016 and welcomed 2017, there were many people we had to say goodbye to. Many famous figures passed away in 2016 and till date. As others age with us, no doubt we’ll be saying bye to many more as the years go by but unquestionably we lost quite many recently. However, even though these famous figures died, their legacies live on and will continue to delight us.

Here is the list of famous figures who died in 2016 and 2017 till date.

1) Junaid Jamshed

Sir Junaid was born on September 3, 1964. He started his career in early 1986 and rose to fame in no time. He became the voice of nation with his songs like Dil Dil Pakistan and Tum Mil Gaye. His band Vital Signs received national fame and prominence with some successful songs. He then continued his music career for many years and then came a point, where he distanced himself from music and in 2004, he officially announced that he has devoted his life to Islam. He continued to spread the teachings of Islam and was even listed as one of the worlds most influential Muslim by the Muslim 500 for his involvement in NGO Muslim charity. Muslim charity has achieved a great deal under his leadership and expand it’s operations to 16 countries. One fine day he was travelling from Chitral to Islamabad on a ill-fated plane which crashed, he along with others on board lost theirs lives on December 7, 2016

2) Amjad Sabri

Sir Amjad was born on December 23, 1977. He was born in a Sufi family and emerged as one of the most prominent qawwali singers, he performed with his father for the first time at the age of 12. He was Pakistan’s qawwali rock star and received success in not just Pakistan but whole Asia. His qawwalis were always deep and mesmerizing. He performed at the Coke Studio season 9 and that was his last performance as he was assassinated on June 22, 2016. Two motorcyclists open fired on his car and he succumbed to the injuries.

3) Abdul Sattar Edhi

One of the most respected and legendary figure of Pakistan, Sir Edhi was born on January 1, 1928. The story of his life is touching and influential. He was the man who in his young days did everything he could to open a free dispensary and provide medicines to sick people. He found Edhi foundation which expanded and diversified over the years. His foundation runs shelters for homeless, hospitals, orphanages and rehab centers. He received 15 International and 10 national awards in his life time. He passed away on July 8, 2016 due to kidney failure at the age of 88. His last wishes included the request of his organs to be donated but due to his ill health, only his corneas were suitable enough to donate.

4) Shahlyla Baloch

Shahlyla was a professional footballer and was born on March 12, 1996. She played as a striker for Balochistan United and Pakistan National women’s football team. She was the first Pakistani woman to score a hat-trick abroad. She died in a car accident on October 12, 2016.

5) Ustad Fateh Ali Khan

He was in many ways the icon of classical music in Pakistan and whole Asia. The singer whose voice mesmerized the audiences died at the age of 82 and was also known as ‘Bade’. Sir Bade started his music career at the age of 14, he along with late Amanat Ali achieved highest recognition because of their signature vocal style which influenced many singers around the world. He suffered lung disease in last week of 2016 and was admitted in hospital for 10 days and passed away on January 4, 2017.

6) Qandeel Baloch

Fouzia Ameen aka Qandeel Baloch was born on March 1, 1990. She was the social media sensation and was famous for lined up controversies. She first rose to prominence in Pakistan idol auditions and was the most searched celebrity on google in Pakistan in 2016. On July 15, 2016 she was murdered by her brother on the name of honor.

7) Om Puri

Bollywood veteran actor, Sir Om Puri was born on October 18, 1950. He has appeared in Bollywood, English and Pakistani film and has been associated to the entertainment industry for about 4 decades. (stitech.edu) He made his Pakistani film debut with Actor In Law and has worked towards better relations between the neighbors. He made his contributions to the cultural front and always supported to bring people closer and promote peace. He has even played roles as a Pakistani in many films. He suffered a heart attack and passed away on January 6, 2017.

7 Din Mohabbat In is visually stunning, smartly written, emotionally captivating, thoroughly entertaining, suspenseful and crowd pleasing. There are very few romantic comedies which make you connect to the characters instantly because they are not pointless and 7 Din Mohabbat In is definitely one of those films. It is appealing right from the get-go and holds your interest till the end. 7 Din Mohabbat In is not just another love story, it is unique and unforgettable. Shehryar Munawar’s award-winning performance is the highlight of this film since the story essentially revolves around his character. It was truly refreshing and extremely enjoyable watching Mahira Khan play a character which was both sweet and appealing. Neeli is one-of-a-kind heroine who doesn’t get as much screen time as the hero but definitely manages to impress in every single scene. Javed Sheikh once again manages to make his presence felt. He keeps on surprising the viewers with his definite screen presence and continues to play roles in films which are completely different from one another but are always impressive and entertaining. The stellar performances by the entire cast, intelligent direction and first-rate special effects are few of the reasons why this film is a must-watch. Mira Sethi’s performance is the most pleasant surprise in this film. The superb styling and brilliant makeovers also give this film a definite edge.

7 Din Mohabbat In is the story of a young man who sets out on an unexpected journey in the most unusual manner. This journey turns out to be an exciting, unpredictable and engrossing adventure. The people he finds along the way are equally interesting and pleasing. The story never gets too serious and even those comic dialogues which weren’t exactly brand new were translated on screen in such a manner that they had a fresh appeal. The background score is impressive throughout and the editing is perfect. All the songs in the film are different from one another but equally pleasing. The cinematography is top-notch throughout.

7 Din Mohabbat In is definitely a must-watch. In my opinion it is not one of the best but the best Pakistani film of recent times. Shehryar Munawar and Mahira Khan look perfect together and their sizzling on-screen chemistry coupled with their delightfully entertaining track will leave you spell-bound. The entire supporting cast of this film is equally impressive and faultless. This film has all the right ingredients in the right proportions and is emotionally gratifying. If you are looking for something fun and entertaining to watch this Eid then don’t miss this one!

7 Corona patients died in Peshawar

Seven Corona patients died due to lack of continuous supply of oxygen at Khyber Teaching Hospital in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

According to the hospital administration, the incident took place on Sunday when oxygen supply to the patients was not provided in time. The patients died due to unavailability of continuous supply of oxygen.

Hospital officials said patients from other wards were also affected by the untimely delivery of oxygen cylinders.

A spokesman for Khyber Teaching Hospital said that oxygen cylinders were being supplied to the hospital from Rawalpindi but due to unavoidable reasons oxygen cylinders did not arrive from Rawalpindi in time. However, the investigations are being done in this regard. Five patients from isolation ward have been died due to unavailability of oxygen cylinders and two patients from ICU have also been died.

A spokesman for Khyber Teaching Hospital said that 100 oxygen cylinders were on standby and an investigation had already been launched into the incident.

Cathedrals hold a special religious place in Christianity. As Pakistan was once part of India and under British Raj, there are quite a few famous Cathedrals in the country. Here’s a list of seven iconic cathedrals in Pakistan which will leave you spellbound:

St. Patrick’s Cathedral (Karachi)

St. Patrick’s Cathedral was built in 1881 near one of the oldest church of Karachi. The cathedral is said to be one of the largest in the city boasting of being accommodating 1500 worshipers. The building is reminiscent of being constructed in the British era due to it’s red brick design with stained glass inlay and arched windows which religious scenes. Apart from being holding religious value, the cathedral is also a major tourist attraction.

When one enters the cathedral, they are welcomed by a monument of Christ the King which is a 54 feet structure made of white marble in 1931. Inside the monument is the statue of prominent Christian missionary St. Francis Xavier. In 2003, the government declared St. Patrick’s Cathedral a protected monument under the Sindh Cultural Heritage Protection Act because of its cultural importance and historic Gothic Revival architecture.

St. Paul’s Church (Rawalpindi)

One of Rawalpindi’s oldest churches is the St. Paul’s Church built in 1876. The church can accommodate up to 800 worshipers at a time while it has been a functional religious site since over a 100 years.

Like most churches, this religious site was also constructed during the British Era and boasted of a red brick exterior with wooden ceilings. Recently, the outlook of the church has been changed as it has been painted grey with red sloped ceilings.

St. Mathew’s Church (Nathia Gali)

One of the country’s most beautiful and picturesque churches is this one. St. Mathew’s Church in Nathia Gali is built entirely of cedar wood and looks extremely dreamy set on top of a hill station with lush green trees. A much active church, the site is also famous among tourists.

The Holy Trinity (Murree)

Located on the busy streets of Mall Road, Murree, The Holy Trinity Church dates back to 1857. The architecture of the church boasts of Anglo-Indian style with stained glass inlay and wooden ceiling and floors. The main prayer hall of the church can accommodate 400 people at one time.

Sacred Heart Cathedral (Lahore)

One of Lahore’s most busiest and popular churches is The Sacred Heart Cathedral which dates back to 1907.

The buildings architectural has been constructed using the Roman Byzantine style while it can accommodate 1,500 worshipers at one given time.

St. Mary’s Cathedral (Multan)

Another red brick church, the St. Mary’s Cathedral dates back to 1848 and is over 170 years old. The cathedral is an important historical monument for visitors along with being a site of worship.

The facade of the building is constructed in red brick while the architecture boasts of being Gothic style with material being imported from England.

St. John’s Cathedral (Peshawar)

One of oldest churches in KPK, The St. John’s Cathedral was initially a church around 1860 while it achieved the status of a cathedral two years later in 1862. The cathedral can accommodate up to 700 worshipers at one given time.

Sana Javed & Shoaib Malik Wedding

Sana Javed and Shoaib Malik took the internet by storm the day they shared the news of their Nikkah. The stars are big names in their respective fields and this was a big shock for not only Pakistanis but also Indians. Many people initially thought that their wedding picture was actually from some shoot but the news was confirmed and the wedding was under discussion everywhere.

What led to controversy in this otherwise normal wedding was how the two stars never confirmed their previous separation. The day their marriage was announced shocked people as they thought Shoaib Malik was married to Sania Mirza, the Indian tennis star while Sana Javed was still with Umair Jaswal. The separation was later on confirmed by other parties and all of this combined resulted in mega backlash for both Shoaib Malik and Sana Javed.

Behroze Sabzwari’s Interview With FHM

Behroze Sabzwari is a veteran actor of the industry. He has been a big name in dramas for four decades now. He has been recognized by the public and government both and he is also applauded for the way he has kept his family close and settled despite his son’s first divorce.

The veteran actor got into controversy when he spoke about the former Prime Minister and currently the most famous political leader of the country Imran Khan in an interview with FHM. He was talking in broken points when he said that he has allegedly had a drink with Imran Khan. He also added that Imran Khan is an honest man and not financially corrupt but the drinking bit went viral and was used in an awful manner over the internet. Behroze Sabzwari also announced to take legal action against the clip which did not materialize.

Taghut Controversy On Samaa Digital’s Mukalma

Another huge controversy that took over the internet for several days was Sahil Adeem, Khalil ur Rehamn Qamar and Azba Abdullah’s fight from Mukalma hosted by Ayesha Jahanzeb. Azba, a girl who was also an employee of Samaa asked Sahil Adeem to apologize to women for calling them illiterate. Instead of apologizing, Sahil Adeem went on to justify his own stance and started asking the girl about the meaning of Taghut. This turned into a huge debate and meme war on the internet.

Khalil ur Rehman Qamar also got involved in the fight and started insulting the girl who was asking for an apology. He got even more furious than Sahil Adeem and the show went viral overnight.

Ayesha Jahanzeb is a very famous host and actress. She is also an educationist who later joined the media and she was able to carve out a place for herself. Ayesha Jahanzeb had already been in the news for hosting the infamous Taghut show when the world was shocked to find out that she has been a victim of domestic abuse by her second husband Mohammad Haris.

Ayesha was brave enough to come forward with her ordeal. She let the case of domestic violence go as children are involved but she has filed for divorce and she has been vocal against abuse that women face at the hands of their own men.

Ayesha is moving forward in life and being strong for her children but seeing such a strong woman as a victim was a shock for society and also a reflection of reality.

Khalil ur Rehman Qamar Kidnapping And Honey Trapping

Khalil ur Rehman Qamar is a famous and controversial writer of Pakistani dramas and films. For the last few years, he has been challenging the feminists of Pakistan and he is generally seen teaching rules to live by to the women of Pakistan. He was also a part of the Taghut controversy before he got into a huge problem.

KRQ was called by a girl Aamna Arooj to her residence in Lahore and he went at 4 a.m. to meet her. He was kidnapped allegedly and beaten and extorted by a gang there. Later on his compromising video with the girl was leaked and he stated that he was forced on gun point to do all of that.

Police are involved and the case is going on against the gang while KRQ has been under immense scrutiny for going to meet the girl at 4 a.m. when he is always preaching morality to others.

Daniya Shah And Hakeem Shahzad Wedding

Dania Shah rose to prominence when she got married to late Aamir Liaquat. She later left him and also leaked his private videos. She has been fighting to get money from his inheritance since and she is also fighting a case filed against her for leaking Aamir’s private pictures. She just shocked the world when she tied the knot to a man named Hakeem Shahzad Loha Paar who is basically a Hakeem.

Hakeem and Dania celebrated a reception while he also revealed that Dania is his fourth wife and he just fell madly in love with her. He has given her a massive Haq Mehar while she is the purest woman on the earth. People criticized this wedding a lot and it was all over the social media.

Cases are on going but Dania has now finally moved forward officially in her personal life.

Barzakh Controversy

Barzakh is the latest series by Asim Abbasi starring Fawad Khan, Sanam Saeed, M Fawad Khan and Salman Shahid among others. It came into limelight due to the comeback of Fawad and Sanam together in a project. People were excited and wanted to watch it. The themes of the show however, put it into a lot of controversy and there has been severe backlash from the public.

The show had queer themes and concepts that did not match the general concepts and beliefs of society which put the show into a very tight spot. The series is over now and Zee Zindagi has decided to pull it off YouTube Pakistan in order to not cause alienation among Pakistani audiences for the platform.

She entered the entertainment industry as a VJ and then emerged out as a great actress after some months. She is famous for her dramas, “Meri Ladli, Kahi Unkahi, Kitni Girhein Baki Hain, Udaari etc.” Udaari aired on Hum Tv in the year 2016 and since then she has only be seen doing movies on the big screen. She did her debut movie, “Na Maloom Afraad” in the year 2014. Her latest film was, “Rangreza” in which her lead actor was Bilal Ashraf. He was seen doing a drama in 2014, named, “Aasmanon Pay Likha” since then he hasn’t done any drama serial. His debut movie was, “Ho Mann Jahaan”.One of his movies, “Project Ghazi” is expected to finally get released this year after stopping it’s initial release in 2017. His other famous drama serials comprises of, Haal-e-dil, Bahu Rani, Pul Siraat etc. Later in 2008 he introduced himself as a producer and was successful in this field also. “Meri Beti” aired on Ary Digital in 2013 which was Fahad Mustafa’s first ever production. The latest drama from his production house, airing on Ary digital is, “Cheekh”. His debut movie was, “Na Maloom Afraad” which got released in 2014 and since then he has not worked as a television actor. His latest movies are, “Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2” and “Load Wedding”. Both of these films released in 2018 and were a great success in the Pakistani Box Office. He has currently signed a new project, namely, “Band Toh Ab Bajay Ga” which will be released in 2019.

Fawad Khan is a Pakistani actor, model and a singer. He emerged in the entertainment industry as a singer of 2 rock bands which were operational from 1994 to 2000. His debut drama, “Jutt and Bond” aired on television in the year 2001. His famous drama serials comprises of, “Daastan, Kuch Pyaar Ka Pagalpan, Humsafar, Zindagi Gulzaar Hai” and so many more. He did two amazing telefilms, named, Ajj Kuch Na Kaho in 2010 and Behadd in 2013. His last drama was, “Armaan” which aired in the year 2013 and since then he has not been doing any drama serials. His debut movie was, Bilal Lashari’s, “Khuda Kay Liye”.

6th PFDC L’oreal Paris Bridal Week (PLBW)

Here is the sixth edition of PFDC L’oreal Paris Bridal Week (PLBW) which started on Wednesday with numerous designers with the amazing bridal couture. HSY opened the show and Ali Xeeshan will be closing on the third day. On day one House of Kamiar Rokni was the strongest, followed by Saira Shakira. Sania Maskatiya also showcased her collection “August Dream”. The rising talent included Aamina Naeem, Sara Naqvi and Maryam Amjad.

A 69 years old Pakistani citizen Raees Siddiqui got married to a 35 years old girl in Japan who belongs to Tunas. The couple has started a new journey in their life.

He has been married once but his wife passed away. All of his kids are studying and doing business.

Raees Siddiqui is a businessman and his business is extended in Karachi, Lahore and Japan. He is in Japan for forty years and serving as a chairman of the Islamic Society of Japan.

His wife Gavia came with her family from Tunas to Japan but here immigration authorities arrested them but Raees Siddiqui with the help of his organization helped her.

He also offered Gavia to stay at his place. After witnessing all these gestures of Raees Siddiqui, she proposed him for marriage.
