The stunning couple met when Eman wanted to learn kickboxing and Jamil Haider Rizvi was the trainer. The husband of Eman Suleman took to Instagram and wrote how they met.

He shared, “I met this Eman back in 2017 as a client who wanted to learn kickboxing. She came in for just a month because she lived closer to Multan than Lahore. During that time we discussed how amazing Sri Lanka was and this town called Galle with its beautiful fort and this amazing quaint little place with the BEST burgers called Rocket Burger.”

He went on and said, “As lovely as this conversation was, we didn’t speak/meet for the next two years. Didn’t really become close or too friendly.”

He praised Eman Suleman and said, “May 2019 we met again. October 2019 I’m engaged to her. January 2020 I’m married to her. February 2020 we are in rocket burger. What a dream. Only the burger was absolutely shit and the fort just wasn’t as nice anymore. But it was still the best it could have been because at the end of the day, I was finally there with her. Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) asked two televison channels, Aaj TV and News One to air an apology for airing objectionable content on their Ramazan transmission.

According to a notification issued by Pemra, Aaj TV and News One have assured that they will air a formal apology to “curtail the unrest caused by them”.

The notification states that after airing the apology, the ban on Hamza Ali Abbasi and Shabbir Abu Talib will be lifted and they will be able to take part in the Ramadan transmissions.

The decision was taken in the 33rd session of Pemra complaint council.

As announced earlier, Pemra had banned actor Hamza Ali Abbasi and TV show host Shabbir Abu Talib from hosting their Ramazan shows on Aaj TV and News One respectively. In a statement issued last week, Pemra had stated that it had received 1,133 complaints through Whatsapp, Twitter and telephone calls regarding the transmissions.

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) committee suspended the licenses of three television channels, Geo News, Geo Tez and Geo Entertainment, owned by the Geo TV network due to the recent controversy. However, after an hour of statements and counter-statements and utter confusion, the management of the authority said that the meeting itself was illegal, adding that any decisions taken by it were null and void.

The senior journalists and people attached with the media expressed their sentiments on Social Networking Sites. Most of these people were against this ban because of different reasons. Here is what they had to say

The ultimate decision on the revocation of the licenses will be announced on May 28, when the next PEMRA meeting is to be held which will also be attended by government representatives.

Mir Shakeel, the owner of the channel said in a petition that why wasn’t action being taken against ARY channel. Shaista has apologized 26 times but on the other hand ARY aired the same programme 60 times.

He also said that because blasphemy laws have become more strict, there was a tendency to label the accusation of blasphemy by Muslims against Muslims for settling their scores.

He said that he did not play any role in script writing, production or direction of the said episode even then he has been implicated in the case.

People loved his outfit. He paired the black kurta with a black leather jacket, black pants and white sneakers — but that wasn’t all they spoke about in the comment section. Some people began asking Akcent to do the next PSL anthem and his reply to one comment caught everyone’s attention.

Akcent replied to a fan calling for him to do the next PSL anthem and asked them to start a trend on Twitter with the hashtag #AkcentWeWantPSL6Song and maybe they would make it happen. He then posted about it on Twitter and asked whether he should aim for PSL7 or PSL8.

Akcent singing the PSL anthem is not impossible. The band has a lot of popularity in Pakistan and has performed in the country several times. He also posts about Pakistan quite a bit. In the event of the trailer launch of Actor in Law, there was a question and answer session in which Fahad Mustafa, Nabeel Qureshi, Fizza Ali Meerza and Mehwish Hayat talked about the film.

There is a scene in the trailer where Fahad Mustafa’s character says something like, ‘‘Quaid-e-Azam bhi actor banna chahte thay.” The journalists present at the event found this to be a bit offensive. Fahad Mustafa responded by saying that it’s a film, and the line was part of its content. He said in films such things came up and he would like all to see it first. He assured the media that there’s nothing offensive about the film, so people should watch the film and support Pakistani cinema.

Nabeel Qureshi explained that the media had seen the trailer in a ‘scattered’ way so they didn’t know of its [line’s] background. He said he hadn’t included the line out of nowhere. He said it was based on facts and actually the idea for the film generated from it. He reiterated that the Quaid-i-Azam wanted to be an actor because when he went to London to study law, he had tried to do Shakespeare. He said the Quaid wrote this to his father in a letter, to which his father said he couldn’t betray his family. He said that made the Quaid into a great lawyer and he helped us gain independence.

Fahad Mustafa emphasized that this [project] was all entertainment.

Fizza Ali Meerza said that the film is a product of a lot of hard work and is made with the ‘right intention’. She said they had tried to entertain the audiences, adding that only after watching the film (which is set to be released on Eidul Azha) one could tell how successful the team was in entertaining cine-goers.

Nabeel Qureshi said earlier in the day when he logged onto his Facebook page he realised that it was on June 27, 2014 that the trailer of Namaloom Afraad was launched. He called it nostalgic. He said the last time he was very ‘confident’ but this time round he was ‘conscious’, because previously no one knew him.

Actress Mehwish Hayat, who plays the female lead in the story, said her experience of working in Actor-in-Law was very good. She said it was a privilege for her to be a part of the venture. She said hers was a challenging character for which she had to rehearse many times. She said her role had quite a few ‘shades’ and the movie was a ‘social comedy’.

Fahad Mustafa  termed the film a ‘brave attempt’ saying that it wasn’t the conventional comedy. He said it touched upon social issues that we all wanted to speak about but couldn’t. He said the characterisation was good and probably the audience would leave the theatre after watching the story with a message.

Pakistan women’s cricket team is in the game for past two decades. They have worked hard throughout and finally got recognized when the team got themselves a place under PCB in 2005. But it was not until 2009 they started getting their due share when they won gold in Asian games in 2009.

The team won the gold again in 2014. In one of the winning moments it can be seen that the captain’s jersey had a tape due to lack of sponsors.

But the struggle of the team is finally bearing fruit as the team just got an official sponsor for their kits and its Bonanza Satrangi. Pakistan Women’s Team Sponsorship and ICC World Cup 2017 Kit unveiling took place at National Cricket Academy Lahore and was attended by ODI Captain Sana Mir and T20 Captain Bismah Maroof among others.

The four day “Thar and Parkar Festival” in Mithi has started among tight security which features several cultural and sports events such as camel and horse races, musical concert and exhibition of local handmade handicrafts and embroidery.

Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism Syed Sardar Shah said that such events would greatly help in driving away the ‘ghosts of communal disharmony’ from the area.

Mr Shah said that followers of Sufis would foil nefarious designs of extremists and terrorists, who had struck at the heart of Sindh by unleashing violence at the Qalan­dar’s shrine, through dancing and singing and urged the general public, members of civil society and media persons to highlight positive aspects of the region to help encourage tourism in the area.

He said the Sindh government had organised the mega event to highlight culture, customs, traditions, hospitality, heritage and other beautiful features of the desert, which still had much to offer despite devastating droughts. It could rightly be called an open museum of nature, he said.

Thar had produced many artists and singers like the legendary Mai Bhagi, Ustad Sadiq Faqeer, Murad Faqeer and Mohen Bhagat who taught communal harmony and peace throughout the world, he said. He said the Sindh government was committed to serving singers and artists who were assets of the province.

MPA Dost Mohammad Rahim­oon said the festival would provide a forum to people to showcase their rich culture and traditions for the entire world to see. The credit went to PPP leadership and Sindh government for improving the standard of people’s lived in the arid zone, he said.

Local singers Pancho Pakistani, Nizakat Sadiq Faqeer, Rajab Faqeer, Arif Faqeer, Nehal Nimano and others entertained the audience while prominent poets from Thar and other areas of Sindh including Saindad Sand, Piyaro Shivani, Khalil Kumbhar, Partab Shivani, Bharumal Amrani, Shahab Nohrio, Dileep Doshi Lohano, Bilawal Otho, Haji Sand and others read out their poetry at the festival. Mr Shah later inaugurated the Folk Music Academy established by known local singer Karim Faqeer.

A huge fiasco went on when India initially banned Pakistani artists more specifically Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan from working in Bollywood. Their movies Raees and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil where Fawad had a cameo came under a lot of fire. Consequently, there were no more projects for the stars. Recently, an Indian minister talked about banning Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Saba Qamar who did Hindi Medium is also not going to be a part of the sequel. So, India has officially banned Pakistani artists to work in any of their media.

India Officially Bans Pakistani Artists!

Albeit almost entire industry chose to stay quiet on the topic but Adnan Shah Tipu who has worked in Bollywood previously had something to say. In a video on Shahroz Sabzwari’s facebook he said,

“Thank you for banning us. You have given us a chance to make an Amitabh Bachchan, Naseeruddin Shah and other big stars in Pakistan.You banned Pakistani players from Indian Premiere League (IPL), but then Pakistan Super League (PSL) happened.”

The actor has worked in numerous Bollywood projects such as Himesh Reshammiya’s Kajraare and Arshad Warsi’s Welcome to Karachi. Talking about his experience while working across the border, Tipu said,

“I have worked in India. People showed me a lot of love. But what does this ban mean? You don’t get our bread and butter. It is up to God.Your ban doesn’t change two facts. Facts that no one should ever forget. First, your paternity. Second, your nationality. My father’s name is Ghazanfar Ali Shah. I’m from Faisalabad, Dhobi Ghat, Pakistan. That’s not going to change,” 

The Maalik star further added,

“I did a film in 2007. I wasn’t starving back then. Therefore, because of your ban, neither Fawad Khan nor Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will starve. Pakistan is my mother. If I say anything to your mother, you will feel offended. Likewise, if you say anything about my mother, will I be ecstatic about it?”

He concluded,

“So, here’s what I have to say. Go play your game, we will play ours. You’ve banned us. Thank you very much.”

“Pakistan above all.”

All his followers on facebook had nothing but love for this man for taking a stand while the rest of our industry is restraining from giving any response.
