Shabbir Jan a brilliant Pakistani actor who has been working in the industry for many years. He has gotten multiple national awards. The critically acclaimed actor is also famous for his anger issues and strict behaviour. He admitted that he’s short tempered.

This year it will be held for the fourth year. Last couple of years saw many stars take part in the panel discussions; Mahira Khan also appeared in 2016. Shaane Ramzaan (شان رمضان) is the name of upcoming Ramazan transmission of ARY Digital. Last year Junaid Jamshed and Waseem Badami conducted it. This year Waseem Badaami, Iqrarul Hassan, Nida Yaasir will be hosting this transmission divided into two parts Shaane Sahar and Shaane Iftaar.

Game show Jeeto Pakistan hosted by Fahad Mustafa will also be aired daily in Ramazan.

The upcoming Film of Shaan titled as Zaraar it is an action -thriller. The movie is written and directed by Shaan Shaid.

UN Women, is the UN organisation dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women, has no specific agenda but to grab the opportunity to spread awareness against social norms surrounding gender roles, domestic sexism and mental and physical abuse.

The cast of Arth – The Destination or Arth 2: Shaan Shahid, Humaima Malick, Uzma Hassan and Mohib Mirza are on a similar mission. Team Arth has collaborated with the United Nations to launch a campaign called #EndViolenceAgainstWomen to speak up on and spread awareness regarding various forms of abuse – in order to terminate violence against women and girls.

Uzma Hassan who is playing the role formerly played by Shabana Azmi in the 1982 classic spoke on the respective subject explaining,

“When we speak of abuse, never does it occur to us that the concept of it could involve emotional havoc or embroil the internal sentimentality of a person or his/her psyche.”

She continued on to say,

“The mental image of abuse itself is that of a physical strike. But that’s not where it begins. Before it takes that form, a woman goes through psychological and emotional distress. That is what we need to speak of and that is where we need to begin our stories from.”

“And to speak on this aspect of abuse is no minor a matter as the idea of it has always been misperceived. It’s about time that the victims start speaking up and unveiling their stories.”

Humaima also questioned,

“Who better than a woman who has been a victim of abuse to take a stand for herself and her rights? This is what motivates us to lead this campaign and empower women, whether they’re victims of not.”

Mohib Mirza, one of the lead characters of the film, frankly stated,

“We think that we have a right on other people’s lives. Sadly, that’s how we have been brought up. We feel absolute freedom in imposing our judgment on others, especially upon women. Such are the acts constituting and strengthening patriarchy in the society for a very long time now. We witness it but we don’t realise how poisonous it is.”

Speaking on the matter Shaan added,

“Arth is not just a piece of art. It speaks on actual issues, highlights real-life facts and reflects struggles that artists go through in their journey of life, especially female artists,”

“In comparison, a male artist does not face as many hurdles as female artists do. The added patriarchy, apart from the rest of the career struggles, always gets in their way. It is not just unfair to the artists but also to womanhood as a whole. And we want to focus on exposing this reality and changing mindsets so that women don’t continue to suffer anymore. Gender equality must be achieved.”

First Shaan was missing from trailer launch of Yalghaar and then the premier. Obviously things were wrong somewhere. When director Dr. Hassan Rana introduced every actor of the movie for about 10 minutes each and forgot the name of Shaan; a reporter had to ask him why he is forgetting the lead actor and as they say jawab gol mol hi hua.

Shaan has not promoted the movie on any of his social media handles. So with this many question have arisen. Was using Shaan’s name just a promotional strategy? Khuda Kay Liay was the first movie who brought the enlightened masses of society to Pakistani cinemas and the trend has escalated enormously after that. He is also a staunch nationalist and has verbally criticised our actors and actresses to be so desperate to act in Bollywood that they don’t even demand role equality with Indian actors of the same movie and he has debated this on many platforms.

Recently, he talked about Arth and Yaghaar and about his take on the movies of today and his beliefs regarding them. Though he has mellowed out over time, he still speaks his mind very strongly. Talking about Arth, he said that he has always believed writing was his forte and working with so many writers all these years has given him a deep insight into that genre of film making. He said, the movie, its script and all the actors make it a complete picture. He thinks a movie should be treated like a child, catering to its every need to achieve the results you are hoping it would.

Theh it came to Yalghaar and the controversy surrounding it when it comes to Shaan’s disinterest in promoting it. He said that it is not that he is not supporting Yalghaar, it is just that he does not want to mislead his audience. He wants them to know what they are buying the ticket for.

Shaan believes it was wrong of film makers to promote Yalghaar as the likes of Rambo, where the hero has one vandetta, or the way most of his action movies are. It has multiple heroes in it and all of them are involved in paying tribute to the martyrs. He is proud to be part of such a theme but he does not want to give the incorrect impression to his audiences by promoting it in his name. It is a movie based on a true event that brings to limelight all those who have sacrificed their lives and families for this country. The movie boasts a star studded cast and he believes his fans are intelligent enough not be disappointed on seeing him sharing screen space with so many heroes, as long as that they are told earnestly what they should be expecting.

Shaan has spoken very cautiously about the movie, but considering the reviews it is getting, we wonder if there was more than this to him not wanting to promote the movie in his name?

Shaan Shahid has been married to wife Amina Shaan for many years now. The couple has been blessed with four daughters and are leading a great life together. Shaan is always supported by his wife whenever he is working and we see his family being on his side.

Shaan was asked his opinion about the constant breakups and divorces that are happening these days. He obviously has led a successful married life and what is his opinion on people losing faith on the institution of marriage.

Shaan said that understanding, trust and compatibility are very important in a couple. Forgiveness should be a part of life. He further added that people fall in love with the idea of love sometime and do not consider the repercussions our decision would have on our lives which has been causing so many breakups. Shaan Shahid’s films Waar and Khuda Ke Liey were among the popular films of the current era. Well, the actor is all set to release his upcoming action and romance film Zarrar which has been written and directed by him. The film has been produced by his brother. Recently, Shaan Shahid has spoken to a YouTube channel about the current films’ genre in Pakistan, talking about it, he said, “There are many subjects which are not being touched by the directors, they are not exploring the genre of horror which has a lot more to be done, there is a whole genre of Sci-Fi (Science and Fiction) which directors don’t even want to touch, it can only be done if we will get rid of ‘Ider Nahi Jaungi & Uder Nhi Jaungi” sort of films , have a look at the clip!

What do you think about his statement on exploring new genres including Sci-Fi & Horror?

Shaan Shahid is a superstar of Pakistan. He has ruled the Pakistani cinema for decades. He is also a nationalist. He has always respected Indian films and stories but the actor has strongly opposed working in Indian films. An infamous war of words even happened at the ARY Film Awards ages back between him and Ali Zafar about working in India. Shaan has always maintained that we should not go to Bollywood in any circumstances.

Over the years many stars have worked in Bollywood and they achieved success like Fawad Khan, Ali Zafar and Mahira Khan. Things did not work out in the end and many of these big names were insulted and banned in India. This pattern was repeated once again and Fawad Khan’s Abir Gulal did not release. India also targeted Pakistani civilians last night and there has been an uproar in Pakistan.

Shaan Shahid has once again reiterated that he has always said that our artists should not go to India and there artists should also not come here and his words have ended up becoming true once again. The actor tweeted that no amount of money is greater than self-respect and respect for the motherland:

Shaan Shahid’s sister Zarqa Shahid is making her debut as a producer for the first time while she is launching her son Essa into films. She never worked as an actress herself as her brother was against women of the house appearing in the films and she herself was also not interested. She is now working with Syed Noor to launch her son with a 20 crore rupees budget.

Zarqa Shahid spoke to Ambreen Fatima and she shared her experience while she was casting a heroine for his son’s film. She said that finding a heroine in Pakistan was a huge task and one that led her to cast someone from abroad. She said that the actresses here have so much attitude. Even the Tiktokers think so highly of themselves. She said that these heroines are not interested in working and would only talk about money.

Shaan Shahid is hands down the biggest superstar of Pakistani film industry. He has done over 500 Pakistani films. Though a debate can be held on the content of the films, the fact that he was the only star trying to work and revive the films back cannot be ignored. Shaan had a supernatural experience while they shot the film in London. He stayed in a haunted room and actually had experience seeing a spirit there. He shared the room with film’s producer Awais Rauf whom he told that he has seen someone in the room at 4 a.m. in the morning.

Now a days, actor is seen taking part in the current political situations, he is attending rallies and stating his opinions regarding his political belongings. The actor also took part in PTI’s Lahore Jalsa.

Lately, one of his defensive statement regarding Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan has ignited severe backlash when the actor justified his use of helicopter, Shaan Shahid said, “We the people of Pakistan pay taxes and we allow our PM Imran Khan to use the helicopter, any issues ?”

This statement of him, invited severe public backlash where people said that he can’t decide on their behalf, they also said that they don’t allow the usage of a helicopter from their money, they said that if the fuel is bought by their paid taxes, then it’s wrong. Many asked Shaan Shahid to show his tax payments’ receipts. They also said that Shaan Shahid should talk with logic and should not follow his political leader blindly. Here are the comments.

Shaan is a father to four daughters, one older and then triplets. His younger daughter Nooriya Shaan Shahid is also into acting and shared the impact of her father being a superstar on her.

Nooriya said that acting brings her a lot of joy and since her father is n actor. she has grown up around movie sets and props and acting does come naturally to her. She further added that when she performs, it is not her but the character she is playing that the audience sees.
