Pyarai Afzal – Episode 36

0

Man.. ! .. What a breathtaking episode it was !  I must say that tonight’s episode was one of the best episode of Pyarai Afzal . Sometimes, we reviewers fall short of words and this is what that is happening to me today still, all I can say is that it was not less than a roller coaster ride- Ride filled with emotional drama and intense feelings. Sohai Ali deserves an applause for what she did and how she transformed herself from roti dhoti bahu to Yasmeen, who is of happy-go-lucky nature and knows what to do,when to do and how to do ; Tonight’s episode was solely dedicated to her.

Maang rahi thei k sunday ko 27 tareekh na ho .. ya phir 27 ko sunday na ho.Lubna revealed the truth infront of Farah that everything that happened lately was nothing but a plan – a plan to compel Farah to confess her love for Afzal. She clearly told that it was the part of her treatment and everything that happened as Farah’s reaction was exactly opposite to what they expected.

Untitled

Mujhe batao aakhir Afzal hai kaun or kis ka hai ye Afzal ? Lubna was sick and tired of trying so she finally decided to give-up and have one-to-one conversation with Farah.  Farah’s doubts got vanished when she came to know that Lubna’s association to Afzal was another one of her tactic to solve the matter.

Ye khat nahi hain Yasmeen.. mohabbat ke aik gumnaam Kahani hai.. Afzal was sheer disappointed with everything that is happening and as he knew that Farah is going to get married now, he decided to give up on her. Afzal nay bachpan mai khuwaab dekha tha ..pura nahi hoa to yeh bhi nahi bataya ka kya dekha tha. His eyes were telling the truth -Truth that was buried deep inside his heart since his childhood. Farah was the girl for whom he longed all his life and now that Farah is becoming a part of someone else’s life , he had no right to keep anything associated to her. Keeping that in mind, he asked Yasmeen to burn every piece of those letters that were written by Farah, apparently. Tumhain Kasam hai Afzal, chahay uss k gham mai jaltay rehna magar inn khatoun ko kabhi mat jalana. Yasmeen didnt want Afzal to lose his hope and as she was not even aware of reality so she decided to fight – Fight for Afzal , fight for whom she came all the way from Karachi to Hyderabad, fight for her loved one.

s

Neend aa rahi hai mujhe .. or neend ke goli khayai baghair aa rahi hai.. Maulvi Saheb was completely shattered and broken when Pyarai Afzal left him. With a thought that Afzal will go back to Karachi, he wasnot ready to forgive him when he came back. And as, he got convinced that his son is staying with them, despite of all differences, he can have much awaited peaceful sleep after a long time now.

1

Jaag jao Farah ..Iss keemat par kabhi mat sona k tum ne kayyoun ke neendain haraam kar di hain.. With an adamantine thought in her mind, Yasmeen went to Farah because all this while she clearly discerned and remarked Afzal and Farah’s feelings for each other and for that, she was obstinate that Farah was the one who wrote letters to Afzal. She was firm that this time Farah won’t be able to deny the fact. But how would Farah be able to accept as she never attempted to write to Afzal; She was egoistic and there is no way for emotions and ego to stay together and in case of Farah, Ego overpowered her emotions always.

c.jpg

Mohabbat agar cricket hoti tou mai jeet gaya hota.. It was not a matter of days or months; he had those intense feelings for Farah from the day he learned the meaning of true love. Walking through the lane of memories, Yasmeen figured out the resemblance in the writing pattern of letter and Afzal’s diary and that solved another mystery.

7

Yasmeen planned to solve the matter as soon as possible and for that she decided to go to Farah’s. Mai aaj bhi chali jaoun gey.. mujh par bay adabee wajib ho gaye hai.. Now that Yasmeen knows everything, how can she live under the same roof with Afzal.

b.jpg

Best sequence of tonight’s episode was the confession conversation between Yasmeen and Farah. It was deep, full of emotions, intense and with every new dialogue my concentration on the show increased a hundred times more than previous one. It was when we came across thousand shades of emotions – Yasmeen’s despair of losing Afzal, the sorrow of rejection ,the grief of not being his priority, Farah’s content of knowing that Afzal is madly in love with him, the felicity to know that she never lost Afzal and he was and will be hers always and most important of all the grief of not accepting her  true feelings and love for Afzal. Her tears spoke her heart out.

a.jpg

Afzal did not accept that he was the one who wrote letters and as soon as he came to know that Yasmeen was at Farah’s place, he got full of rage..Kyu gaye thein wahan tum..On being asked by Afzal, Yasmeen clearly told him ” Maulvi uncle k coconut waalay bisuitoun ke khaatir.. or tumhari ammi ke khaatir.. unn ko Farah mai tum dikhtay ho.. ”  Yasmeen knew that these were few last moments of her with Afzal as his fiance, she knew that she was never his parents choice and like Afzal, they strongly wanted  Farah in place of Yasmeen ,still they welcomed her openheartedly. With all that in her mind, she decided to put a full stop to this never ending mystery.

This show turned out to be one of its own kinds and I can proudly say that it was irresistible to be avoided; I am so going to miss this show as next episode will be the last one… :(

Pyarai Afzal – Episode 35

0

This episode was about answers; Answers, that we anticipated since the beginning of the show; Answers to the chain of mysteries that were built with the passage of every single episode. The fact that I liked about tonight’s episode is that they are planning to unveil everything gradually and not abruptly ,thus, maintaining the charm of all the mysteries and questions that were unanswered earlier. Despite of the fact that the story of this show is progressing with a very slow pace still every single artist compels us to ponder that the particular character is purely made for him/her and for that I would like to congratulate entire team of Pyarai Afzal for coming up with such a convincing script and above all, stupendous artists.

1

2 minute hain tumharay paas.. or inn 2 mintoun k doraan zaraa dore rehna mujh se..

Maulvi Sahab knew that as soon as his son will come near him , he won’t be able to resist staying away from him and for that he warned him to stay away during those two minutes of mercy. But Afzal was Afzal, how would he be able to stay away from his father after everything that happened to him lately. He craved to meet his father every moment that he spent in Karachi and now that , he is infront of him, he was unable to keep distance from Maulvi Sahib.

Maulvi Saheb made it clear to Afzal that he never wanted his son to be named as Afzal. Mera naam badal di jye abba .. Mujhe nahi pata chalta k yahan Afzal kaun hai… jo baygunaahi mai mar jaatay hain ya jin ko maine maara hai.. Afzal did what they asked them to do. Moreover, he never meant to kill innocent; he murdered only those who deserved to die.

Bohat dinu se ammi k haathoun ka thappar nahi khaya, pehlay woh khaoun ga.. His father made him realize that he is not actually forgiven by his mother and for that he asked for forgiveness again. Rukayya was heart-broken already and she don’t want to live with high expectations from Afzal  now so she was ready to gulp in the fact that Afzal will leave them . . Maaf Nahi karain gey mujhe ? .. Poor Afzal was so desperate for forgiveness from Rukayya. Maulvi Saheb knew that Rukayya wants to forgive him, but for the sake of her husband ,she was holding her emotions back and as soon as Maulvi Saheb asked her to do so , she did that happily.

download

I really loved how casually Rukayya asked Afzal to open the door as if nothing happened and everything seemed just perfectly fine. Love was in the air ; Talking about love and forgetting to mention Afzal and Farah will do unjust to the perfect scene and to add blaze to the moment, Farah was there. They showed peak of every emotion in those few minutes of reconciliation and Farah-Afzal sequence, indeed.

PicMonkey Collage

Farah was curious to know how Afzal and Yasmeen met and during their discussion, Yasmeen came to know that “khatoun wali Farah” and Farah Ibrahim’s engagemen day was same as that of Yasmeen’s. Luckily, Yasmeen wasnot dumb as Farah and she initiated connecting the dots immediately after that. Farah’s expressions were priceless while looking at Afzal when Arfa announced about her wedding. She was telling him that this is the answer to your engagement and now it’s your turn to play the cards. Afzal was shocked, numb and what not. Meawhile, Yasmeen tried to guess the truth behind Afzal and Farah’s priceless expressions.

PicMonkey Collage2

Yasmeen read those letters with the help of Arfa and figured out that “Miss Marie” was the only person who was mentioned in those letters and to figure out more from letters, she decided to take that letter alongwith her. Wesai , all I think of Miss Marie is that it was an imaginary character created by Afzal, woh jo buchpan ke poems mai Miss Marie thein, he referred to her. It might be a poor guess, but still thats what came in my mind immediately after hearing her name. After seeing Afzal playing cricket, there was a spark in Farah’s eyes as if she was content and satisfied that Afzal is here to stay and won’t be leaving now.

Untitled

Sabtain and Lubna’s discussion revealed that Farah’s engagement with Sabtain was merely a plan and now that this game is turning out to be fierce, he can’t take it anymore. Waisai, I am guessing a developing chemistry between Lubna and Sabtain too- A wild guess maybe..

Maulvi Saheb actually wanted his son to be his reflection and for that Rukayya asked Afzal to keep a safe distance from Yasmeen till they get married.  Now that Afzal is going to stop Yasmeen from reading his letters, what will be Yasmeen’s next step ?  I am anxiously waiting for next episode

Pyarai Afzal – Episode 34

0

Till now, we have seen that Afzal came to know about Farah getting engaged to Sabtain and as a consequence, he decided to exchange the ring with Yasmeen too. On the day of their engagement, Afzal ‘s father faced cardiac arrest because of which Farah’s engagement was left halfway where on the other side , Afzal got engaged to Yasmeen. As soon as Afzal came to know about his father’s condition, he rushed to Hyderabad. Now that we are done with recap of last few episodes, we shall move towards today’s installment.

Tonight’s episode was a bit on slower side but some dialogues and scenes are worth praising and I would love to share them with my readers. Afzal left his parents for the sake of good but soon he realized that he was way better while living with his own family ; He never lived alone without his parents and never faced the type of hard times in his life which he faced while living in Karachi.

He came back because he was unable to bear the news that his father was in sheer pain – how can we even expect him to bear the news as during his stay in Karachi, Maulvi SubhanAllah was the one, whose teachings and lessons were there with him in all his discussions and dealings with his friends.

Untitled

Logu ne tou kal dekha par maine usi din daikh lya tha jis din unhain gira gayai thai tum..Being a mother, Rukayya can’t resist to forgive her son but being a wife, she dont want to think about forgiving the one who is the prime reason of her husband’s very situation. She knew that her husband broke completely from inside the day Afzal left them all alone. Par maa ka dil tha na so was melted within minutes.

u1

Uss se kehna woh saat maheenay baad ro raha hai .. hum saath maheenai sai ro rahay hain..Everyone was trying to make up Maulvi Saheb’s mind for reconciliation with Afzal. Deep inside, he was yearning for Afzal but his fatherly ego came in his way and that was because his son went against his teachings. Being close to religion, he wanted his son to be his reflection too but Afzal turned out to be a rebel and compelled his father to leave all religious activities, he was initially involved in and for that , Maulvi Saheb’s rage was not in his control.

u22

We came across jealous side of Farah today. She was badly burning with envy as and when that incident when Afzal hold Yasmeen’s hand came in her mind; And relating everything with that particular moment, she decided to get married to Sabtain.. woh bhi sunday 27th ko.. By the way, has anyone noticed that we will be having Sunday on 27th of July too.. :)

I thoroughly enjoyed Sabtain’s convo with his patient ; A huge grin remained on my face throughout the scene. Anyhow, as soon as Sabtain came to know Farah’s decision, he was not ready to buy that and if I relate that scene with what Lubna said to her father regarding Sabtain’s intentions of not marrying Farah than our prediction is turning out to be correct that its part of Farah’s treatment and Lubna is also involved in it.

Sheikh Ibrahim compelled Maulvi Saheb to allow Afzal to come inside and it was so nice to see Arfa smiling after a very long time. The way Rukayya was talking to her son with his head on her lap was the scene of the day – such a perfect picture of emotions it was.

u222

Such poocho tou iss mohabbat ke syaasat sai dil bhar gaya hai mera..By bringing tea as bribe, Yasmeen came to ask Maulvi Saheb that he should meet his son now. But he was completely heartbroken and mad at Afzal because he loved him the most and Afzal left him by adopting the way of life which is not called for. Now that Afzal is back, his father dont want to go through the same pain again as he dont trust him anymore. But as Yasmeen insisted, he was ready to meet Afzal with a condition that he should not stay infront of him for more than two minutes. Meanwhile, Farah is all ready to meet Yasmeen and congratulate her. Next episode is going to be an interesting one and I am looking forward to it.

Pyarai Afzal – Episode 3

0

Sometimes, when we do not urge to indulge into affairs that we even started abhorring for ourselves, we are being compelled  to do so. Similarly, Our Pyarai Afzal was the one who was carried away by his friend once again. He was pretty much reluctant to do anything that can let him down in front of his family but his yearning to get a lump sum of money, much more than his monthly salary, made him do so.

Maulvi Saheb caught Afzal red handed while receiving the amount his friend committed to give him. His sudden reaction was nothing more than disappointment and shock. His father  was disappointed because he failed to influence his son with his way of life and his teachings. He was shocked because Afzal broke his promise.

2

Maulvi Saheb neither scolded him nor he yelled at him. All he decided to give a wakeup call to him is to leave his current job and carry on with his son gambling stuff and that was a slap at Afzal’s face. His words were more than enough for Afzal to make him realize the gravity of situation. Firdous Jamal’s acting was spot on and Hamza’s body language was extremely up-to-mark during the scene.

It was Afzal’s sister who gave his guarantee this time. Her concern, her sisterly love and the words she uttered were so pure that Maulvi Saheb gave up on Afzal’s issue and expected Afzal to be a good boy once again.

3

While Lubna and Afzal’s sister were discussing Farah and Mehtaab’s wedding right at the beginning of the show, has somebody noticed Lubna sounded a bit fishy when they talked about Afzal? But why the hell Farah gets so much angry and annoyed everytime when she hears Afzal’s name ? Wesai, Afzal’s sister looked so much concerned and her anticipation to see her brother at dignified place someday made her more closer to look like real-life sisters jo apnai bhaie k lyai jaan bhi dai dain..

4

Afzal left us stranded with so many questions in our minds. Is this Farah whose letter Afzal seems to be reading apparently or is this his earnest yearning or imagination to have Farah in his life just like the girl in his letters.. ? I guess , the overall aura of Farah created in Afzal’s mind was enough to tell us story.Afzal sairaab k peechay bhaag raha hai.. Its like his dream to have Farah in his life.

1

I missed Mehtaab Chawla today – His presence add up another energy level to the show. Lubna and Farah dress up quite differently and interestingly- adding colors to the show and office scenes are always fun to watch where Afzal,Rozee and that Incharge discussions leaves us smiling always.Nicely executed scenes, very well written dialogues and perfect direction were the elements of today’s episode. So overall,it was a well packaged episode.

Preview of next episode tells that Mehtaab Chawla will be completely ousted from this show as Farah won’t be getting married to him.. :( .. Afzal’s sister will ask him about that letter waali girl and will assure him that she will talk to Maulvi Saheb about his marriage.

Pyarai Afzal – Episode 26 :o

0

Why ? Why did this happen today ? Pyrai Afzal transformed into Murderer Afzal ? Man, I can’t buy this.. Like seriously ? Was it necessary that Wali has to be murdered ? Lets suppose, he was destined to die but why his death was written by the hands of Afzal ? Wasn’t that possible that any of Afzal’s friend killed him ? I am extremely disappointed by Khalil-ur-Rehmaan Saheb’s move; This was definitely not  called for..

It was so heart breaking to see Afzal’s parents reaching Karachi and Afzal was gone again. Maulvi Saheb,Rukayya, Arifa and everyone else felt like world has ended here for them but when Farah’s father told them that he will be back soon, they were a bit relieved but still worried for him.

Untitled

Meanwhile, Afzal was ready to take Wali along with him; He took him to the place where he spent most memorable time with Babu Hameed. The way Wali asked him for mercy and the way Afzal replied, everything was up to mark. At that time, I was sure that Afzal won’t let him live but then I was also sure that he won’t kill him and ask any of his friends to do so. But on the very moment, Wali was murdered by Afzal.

Untitled

It was such an intense moment to see Maulvi Saheb crying after knowing the real story. I felt really bad for everyone associated to Afzal ; Everyone was in pain and I must say they worked really well with their facial expressions. Or phir usi mayoosi k sath, they came back to Hyderabad. Once again, I would like to add Firdous Saheb’s name today ; He is really a true gem of our Television industry. Every dialogue and every expression including his body language defines how perfectly he fits into this Maulvi’s role.

Untitled

Another thing that they disclosed today is Saima’s relation with Afzal; Sajid(Afzal’s friend) and Saima were associated once and it’s because of him that Saima’s husband beats her and through Sajid, Saima knows Afzal. Afzal is now living a luxurious life but they didnot show how ? Maybe its a gift from Wali’s boss ?

After watching today’s episode, I have no clue where they are trying to head this show ? Now, we will see Afzal as an underworld don ? Metlab, what was the aim in naming this show Pyaray Afzal ? Afzal was such a perfect man and a wonderful character – much close to ideal with few exceptions, of course. But what did they make out of him now ? Will we be able to fall for this Afzal now ? I really wish ,we will, maybe in last couple of episodes.

Pyarai Afzal – Episode 25

0

Tonight’s episode was the  most boring and slow paced episode of Pyarai Afzal; I didnot enjoy watching this episode except for few scenes that I will be discussing in detail today. I know many of you will disagree with my point but thats how I feel and I guess, its the time to wrap up the show.I have no issue even if they will take 5-6 episodes to wrap up par koi asaar tou dikhain Afzal k kisi aik ke taraf janay k..

Sad part of today’s episode was when we came to know that Babu Hameed is no more. Ofcourse, out of all, Afzal and Yasmeen were completely broken because for Afzal,he was like his brother who was there with him when he needed help. Right from the day when Afzal came to Karachi, he took every step with Babu Hameed; They discussed ups and downs of their lives and always stood by each other and now that Afzal’s hard time companion is dead , he is completely shattered and broken from inside. And yes, I would like to give a special mention to Babu Hameed’s funeral; After a long time , I have seen a death in any television drama  where people didnot wear white clothes and for that Babu Hameed’s funeral looked like real life one.

I literally hated Farah today; I mean how selfish a woman can be ? Instead of feeling sad for Babu Hameed, she was cursing Afzal and Yasmeen. And for me, this is called nothing but peak of an emotion termed as Love ,blended with jealousy . Farah was jealous that Afzal put his life in danger for Yasmeen and now after seeing them together, she was unable to control her rage and started cursing both of them or woh bhi Lubna k kandhay ka sahara lai kar.. I must say, I should add sympathy with my hatred for Farah too because she can’t help herself and she is not in her own control now.

The best part of tonight’s episode was when Afzal’s family came to know that Afzal is in safe hands now. I would like to mention Firdous Jamal’s name, for acting superbly and brilliantly today ; Not for a second, it felt that he is acting in a drama-  it looked as if its a real life scene. Rukayya was unable to handle her emotions and Arfa’s eyes were full of tears – tears of happiness.  And like always, Maulvi Saheb’s dialogues took the limelight of today’s episode.

As Afzal is now in mood of taking revenge from Wali, he planned something fishy with Yasmeen and for that after a long time, he called his friends too. I guess, Wali will visit Yasmeen alone and this time Afzal will be a “bad man”  ,with his friends as his back up. God knows what is cooking in Afzal’s head.

Pyarai Afzal – Episode 21 & 22

0

Pyarai Afzal is the only show airing these days whose single episode is unaffordable for me to miss. Story is now sounding more like a love rectangle rather than a triangle.. :P Pehlay Farah, than Lubna and now Yasmeen. Lubna’s Lahoo Moo lag gaya must be the tagline of previous episode. I mean that episode was more about Ramleela than Farah,Afzal or Lubna. Unnecessary, inclusion of dialogues related to the movie could have been avoided but again for the fun sake, I took them casually because I was enjoying even Ramleela’s discussion too.

This show is way too much unpredictable man. Firstly, it was all about those letters mystery which is still a secret buried deep inside Afzal’s heart ; And now , this whole Lubna sequence. All I am thinking is that it is nothing but Lubna’s strategy to compel Farah to speak her heart out and confess that she is in love with Afzal. Farah’s rage is clearly depicting her inside out; The way she is reacting to every action Lubna takes regarding Afzal is more than enough for us to know that Farah loves Afzal but she is resisting to tell anybody and more than that she is not ready to accept the fact herself ;Peak of her anger was shown when she heard Lubna humming the song and broke the window.

Yasmeen is a very interesting character added to the show in recent episodes; Though, Sohai was never my favorite actress still, I am enjoying every scene of her – she looks way too good in this role. So, this is my request to Sohai Ali that next time try to experiment with her acting skills rather than sticking to one particular “rota dhota role”. The pink lipstick, loud blush suits her character well and her confession infront of her mother told us that she is in no way flirting with Afzal and is seriously interested in getting married to him.

Our Afzal is looking literally “pyarai” in that security guard uniform. His decision regarding his job was right to an extent that he shouldnot wait for opportunity to knock out at his door rather he should go out and fetch for the opportunity – No matter how long it takes and by adopting which way he will become “Afzal” .

Mehtaab’s re-entry in the show made me happy again. This time he is completely transformed man ; He is looking elegant and poised rather than sounding like a goofy as before. The way he made Afzal realize about where he is standing right now being Farah’s admirer was nothing more than his way of taking revenge from him.

Mehtaab called Farah and Lubna picked up but point is that despite of saying again and again that she is not Farah but Lubna , Mehtaab got easily tricked by Lubna..At that point, I thought that he was only pretending to be different, deep inside he is still a goofy bal k bechara maasoom he hai and everyone can play with his emotions just like that. Seriously, I felt bad for him when Lubna said that she will reconsider her and he become happy thinking the fact that Farah will reconsider her again.

By the way, was that beep really necessary during Lubna and Mehtaab’s call? I mean their lips can easily be read and the words they uttered were not different from what they use frequently.

Without any doubt, dialogues are the soul of this show and credit goes to Khalil ur Rehmaan; He penned down every dialogue beautifully and not only they sound good but they are equally meaningful too. The way Afzal’s mother changed her mood ,when Farah’s mother visited her and told her that they will help them in finding Afzal, clearly described her longing for her son.

Now that Lubna knows exactly where Afzal is , I am guessing that story is heading towards its end. Last scene of today’s episode was too hard for me to digest. Are they actually planning for a sad ending ? Honestly, it would be unbearable for me to watch Afzal die; Maybe, he was wearing a bullet – proof jacket because he was in his uniform.. :P

Pyarai Afzal – Episode 1 & 2

0

Yet another addition to the masterpieces of Ary Digital is Pyarai Afzal, started a week back.Star cast of the show includes Hamza Ali Abbasi, Aiza Khan, Sana Javaid,Saba Hameed and Firdous Jamal. Its a Six sigma production which is directed by Nadeem Baig. Whereas, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar is the writer of the serial. Now that we are done with formal intro, lets start with the story of the show.

4

Afzal SubhaanAllah(Hamza Ali) is one of the children of Maulvi SubhaanAllah(Firdous Jamal); he is a gambler and loves to fritter his time by playing cricket for the sake of winning cash but owns a heart of gold. I can say that because he never  let his instinct die; he is among those who are subah k bhoolai jo shaam ko waapis ghar aa saktay hain.Having a secret girl friend, disclosing her letters details infront of friends, lying to your sister and gambling are all specs of being a “Subah Ka Bhoola” but avoiding to share her personal info, taking special care to not lie while passing by a Mosque, getting worried when your parents are not happy with you and respecting all the girls around when everyone else stare at them with disrespect are aspects of those who have margin of becoming well-being, no matter how much time it takes.

6

Afzal’s sister is one of those sisters who loves their siblings, never want to lose them and always there for them whenever they need her; she is portrayed as strong-willed yet concerned sister who always want her family to stay united.
Lively,friendly,fun-loving and most important of all “beauty” are the traits of none other than two sisters  Farah Ibrahim(Aiza Khan) and Lubna Ibarhim(Sana Javaid). Farah lives in a fantasy world of her own and dreams for a guy who is well educated,self-made and confident. Inshort, she desires for a perfect husband.

2

3

Mehtab Chawla (Umer Naru) was the guy this time whose proposal came and rejected after being accepted by Farah. As soon as Farah came to know that he is a raees zaada and all he can do is just to spend his father income, she refused to marry him.But before declaring the refusal, Lubna  gave her the news that her wedding date has been fixed. And now Farah want all this fuss to come to an end,by hook or by crook.Umer Naru’s(Last seen in Miraat ul Uroos as Faraan) acting, dialogue delivery, expressions and overall appearance with which he came up in this serial makes his character much more interesting and entertaining to watch. Hats off to his dialogues in today’s episode; We went through series of laughter therapy sessions today.

5

A couple of times Farah and Afzal came across each other till now and I can see that spark in their eyes. Now coming towards Afzal again, Maulvi Saheb came to know about Afzal’s ongoing affairs in which he was involved and for that he,after a meeting with his son, decided to leave his house because according to him, good and evil can’t stay together. As soon as his father decided to leave, Afzal pledged for mercy and decided to be a good boy from now on :) .I loved each and every bit of those Afzal family scenes; they were full of emotions, touchy and contained an awww factor in them.

1

I am pretty sure that once you will hear the OST of this serial, you won’t be able to resist replaying it again. In couple of episodes, I have found everything in this show ; it has emotions, drama, fun, entertainment, new faces, laughable dialogues, perfectly executed scenes, brilliant direction and a fantabulous OST. So for all those, who are still thinking to give it a watch or not; do give this episode a watch. I hope the pace and the perfectness continues till the end of this serial.

Do give your valuable feedback about this new serial.

Pyarai Afzal – Back to Hyderabad

0

I believe that if director of PA wants to leave a mark of this show in everyone’s heart even after its ending, it is time to end this show.To much dragging isa adding nothing but giving us viewers  pain and we can’t keep ourselves away from comparing previous all well-paced episodes with these unwanted extended ones.

Without any doubt, everyone looked just  stunning on Afzal and Farah’s engagement. Farah, Yasmeen and Lubna’s costumes were so really good and seemed like they were competing with each other in a contest called “who is looking more beautiful” . Anyhow, both Afzal and Farah were feeling low at their own places but the voice of their hearts was unheard because neither of them had courage to go and confront the other one and for that they were bearing the consequences in the form of this engagement. Afzal has ego issues because he was rejected by Farah and Farah..actually, she has ego issue too because for her, she was not the one who was made to love or made for love right from the day one and now that she has fallen in love, she just can’t express her feelings.

Maulvi Saheb gave ring to Ibrahim uncle because it was Farah’s wish to have that ring on her engagement. And then , Sabtain’s father asked Maulvi Saheb to do the honors in the ring exchange ceremony. All incidents were just showing that its Afzal with whom she is going to get engage with and not Sabtain. But poor Maulvi Saheb was unable to bear the fact that Farah is getting engaged to a person other than his son and faced severe cardiac arrest.

Despite of the fact that they are dragging it too much, I find the element of emotions still there. The way Rukayya was talking while her husband was not conscious was really touchy – every word of her counted. Even the people in her surroundings seemed a bit confused that why is she acting like this but with no tear and a wicked smile on her face she announced that it was her for whom Maulvi Saheb always call a doctor but he himself is in trouble now.

Afzal came to know about his father situation and immediately headed towards Hyderabad. But on his way to Hyderabad, I found something fishy. Why Police was keeping track of Afzal ? Are they actually going to kill him ? or is it just a distraction for viewers to think of the ending this way.  Whatever it is, I am so not ready to buy that sad ending – not atleast after too many episodes.

Maulvi Saheb still misses Afzal but feels ashamed as and when he thinks of his activities. It was one touchy moment when Afzal came and encountered with Arfa. But I dont know, after a couple of secs, the scene lost its feel maybe it was because of background score. Same happened with Afzal and Rukayya’s reunion scene. But the best part was that Maulvi Saheb knew that his wife will never leave his hand but for Afzal and the moment she leaved him with Arfa, he guessed it rightly that Afzal came back.

I can smell that the show will be wrapped up in a couple of episodes or maybe 3. But all I want is a happy ending and its my wish to see few scenes of Afzal and Farah together before this show ends. None of us will mind if they add an episode for this..haina.. :P ?

Pyarai Afzal – And he rules..

0

Truthfulness has the power of its own; No matter what happens, it is always truth that wins. When you are right, you don’t need to give any justification but just to wait for right time- for your time to come till you will rise. Within no time, Afzal left his job with a thought that it was his respect for opposite gender due to which he can define himself as a good living being; The question mark at this very trait was unbearable for him.

1

Farah’s mother was curious to know about the guy with whom Farah wants to gets married. Farah tried every possible way to ran away from the situation but was left helpless and in the end,out of nowhere, Lubna took Afzal’s name infront of her mother. It was not more than a shock for Farah as she can never think of herself being associated to Afzal. For her , he was the worst man she ever knew and she took it as her insult when her sister took his name and all Lubna got as a result of taking out Farah from worse condition was a slap from her.

2

Lubna clarified everything infront of her mother that she never meant that it was Afzal SubhanAllah of whom she was talking.Meanwhile,Sheikh Saheb came to know  the truth behind whole drama created to throw Afzal out of the factory; It was Chengaizi who was jealous of Afzal because Rozi showed inclination towards him and as a result Chengaizi felt insecure because he himself was having an affair with Rozi. Sheikh Saheb seemed to be much impressed from Afzal’s character but at the same time he was regretting that how can he be so rude to him without having any proof of him being culprit?

3

Afzal was so upset of the situation but he never forgot about his promise – the promise he made to stay on right path no matter what happens. My heart cried as I saw Afzal crying in pain of getting the fruit of what he never thought to do. His sister, Arfa, is always there to console him but sometimes, its only time that vanishes all the miseries and pains in your life.

4

Farah’s misconception about Afzal came to an end when she came to know that Afzal,by no mean, is person who is labeled with “Bad Character”.As soon as Farah got to know whole story,a visible change in her was felt; she seems to be falling for Afzal. Maybe ,its too early to predict but yes, not Afzal, but she is now keeping track of what Afzal do and where he goes.

5

Afzal,in search of job, went for his interview. At that time,he came to know that there is no role of good character in this cruel world of ours but few papers that are titled as “degree”. By the way, Afzal’s answer to the interviewer left me laughing out loud – It was a slap at panel’s face.. :) ..Sheikh Sahab owed an apology to Afzal so he called him to ask Afzal to join him again but Afzal was man of his words and more than that it was against his self-respect to get a job merely on the basis of his father’s reference.

6

Pahlay tou dil mai aya almaari khol kar saray khat parh loun, par phir socha Allah daikh raha hai..

Bus please tum Allah se darti rehena..

And we laughed with Arfa. For me that was the scene of the day; Arfa’s sisterly love and concern for her brother comes out with every word she utters that is full of emotions and care for Afzal. And atlast, we saw smiling Afzal .. :)

Lubna’s meeting with Afzal will be a part of next episode. Overall, this episode was another one of well packaged episodes and I really enjoyed watching it.  Do share your views about this latest installment.

However, very few people know that the OST of ‘Pyar Ke Sadqay’ is copied from an old Sindhi song ‘Rahat Mile Thi Dard Men’ which is originally sung by Tameer Hussain.

Sadly, even after copying the song, the original singer didn’t get any credits or any appreciation.

Here’s the song from which Pyar Ke Sadqay was copied:

Pyar Ke Sadqay Last Episode Story Review – Apologies and Realizations

This last episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay had the perfect happy ending but some of the confrontations were not as impactful as they should have been. Some of the scenes were prolonged and just like every other episode of this drama, the OST was used generously in the background! Although some of the dialogues were too plain, this ending had some good messages as well. All the main characters learned something or the other from their mistakes. Since the writer already laid the foundations for this ending, it wasn’t rushed or illogical. Right till the end, Sarwar blamed his upbringing and thought of himself as the ‘victim’. In the prison cell, however, he perhaps realized that this was Karma.

Apologies and Realizations

I really liked the way Sarwar’s character was used to bring Mahjabeen and Abdullah together in the end. It seemed like Mahjabeen wouldn’t agree to go with Abdullah but the second Sarwar intervened, everything changed. Abdullah finally took a stand for his wife, the best way he could but it was disappointing watching him giving Shanzay the option of being his second wife! Abdullah stayed confused till the end but there is hope now that with Mansoora’s help, he will gain more confidence.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Last Episode Story Review - Apologies and Realizations

Mansoora’s realization in this last episode and the way it was spelled out for the public was the best part of this episode. A woman does not always need a man to ‘complete’ her and she should never settle for someone who does not give her the love and trust she deserves. The inclusion of the idea that self-love and acceptance come before everything else was brilliant! Mansoora made so many mistakes in the past but in the end, she truly redeemed herself and is on the right path.

The viewers also found out tonight why Shanzay was so desperate to marry Abdullah. Even then, I feel that Shanzay shouldn’t have been given so much screen time. Abdullah and Mansoora both should have apologized to Mahjabeen’s mother as well. The way Abdullah and Mahjabeen showed Sarwar that he was no longer in control was truly gratifying! The look on his face when he saw Mahjabeen’s expressions was so meaningful. This was his punishment too that the only woman he ever loved hated her so much.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Last Episode Story Review - Apologies and Realizations

Overall, this was a rather simple but satisfying ending. It was the kind of ending which assures you that all these characters got what they deserved – good or bad!

Final Verdict

I must say that watching and reviewing Pyar Ke Sadqay was an absolute pleasure. I did not warm up to the drama instantly mainly because of the execution which was in contrast with the actual story – quite fictional. While the story was realistic, the treatment given to the drama was fairytale-like right from the beginning. The number one reason why Pyar Ke Sadqay did not just grow on me but I also fell completely and utterly in love with it within a few weeks was the characterizations. We have never seen such a true depiction of people with learning disabilities or those who have been shunned all their lives. Abdullah and Mahjabeen were two of the most beautifully flawed and brilliantly layered characters.

It was Yumna Zaidi’s captivating performance which kept me enthralled in the first few episodes. Mahjabeen literally ran the show in the initial episodes. Later on, Abdullah’s track also became more interesting. Bilal Abbas Khan’s impressive performance throughout continued to be the best part of this drama right till the end. Even though the lack of character development was off-putting towards the end but Bilal Abbas’ performance never disappointed. As someone who has been closely associated with people like Mahjabeen and Abdullah, I would give the writer and these actors tons of credit for doing justice to the outstanding characters which hardly ever get the kind of attention they deserve. Zanjabeel Asim Shah’s understanding of these characters and the way she effectively blend comedy with well-thought-out scenarios is much appreciated.

The love triangle in the last few episodes was stretched and mostly unconvincing. Shanzay’s character was confusing and Yashma Gill’s performance was just plain annoying. All the other characters always made perfect sense and were translated on screen superbly. Washma and Pho’s characters made up for Shanzay’s desperation and Mansoora’s vulnerabilities. The beauty of Pyar Ke Sadqay lied in the fact that it offered a variety of characters, it was inventive and fascinating in its own way. Even when the story was being stretched and I wanted to see the drama ending, there was always something interesting to talk about after every episode. There wasn’t a single episode which was pointless, there were some that were slow but each episode added something or the other to the story.

Special shout out to Srha Asghar for breathing life into Washma’s character and making us fall in love with her. It is rarely ever that a supporting character is as attractive as Washma was. Sharmeen Ali’s poised demeanor went so well with the character she played. Atiqa Odho and Omair Rana were equally impressive in their respective roles. Atiqa Odho performed especially well in the last few episodes. Omair Rana truly outdid himself as Sarwar. Sarwar’s conversations with his mother wouldn’t have been as amusing and insightful if it wasn’t for the on-screen chemistry between Gul-e-Rana and Omair Rana.

Bilal Abbas Khan and Yumna Zaidi will always be remembered as one of the most unusual and appealing on-screen couples we have seen in recent dramas. Even with all the ups and downs, the viewers wanted to see them together in the end. Pyar Ke Sadqay was definitely the kind of drama you get lost in. It was a well-told story overall that would have been faultless had it not been stretched. I still feel that Shanzay’s track was the worst part of an otherwise superb drama.

I would like to thank all those readers who shared their insightful and interesting views every single week and made the discussions worthwhile. I am going to miss reviewing Pyar Ke Sadqay. I am also looking forward to Mushk and hope that it will prove to be another drama that all of us can enjoy watching and discussing.

Do share your thoughts about this last episode and most importantly about the entire journey. I would love to hear from all of you.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 29 Story Review – Mansoora In Action

Tonight’s episode made up for the slow-paced and disappointing episode last week. In fact, this episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay was so fast-paced that I have a difficult time believing that I got to watch everything I was waiting to see in this latest episode. It was ultimately Mansoora who decided to take a stand and be a mother for a change. Although I would have liked to see Mahjabeen being slightly more strong and active in this and the previous episode, the fact is that Mansoora’s blind love for Sarwar was the root cause of everything that has gone wrong with Abdullah’s life. This was the best way for Mansoora to redeem herself. It is however sad to watch Mahjabeen taking a backseat at the moment since she has always been the driving force. The change in Mansoora was convincing since she was giving mixed signals for quite some time now. Abdullah’s Mathematic skills were also put to good use in this episode, another development that we were all waiting to see. The question however remains, does Abdullah deserve Mahjabeen? This episode was also quite intense. Yet again, the director used the flashback scenes effectively. Some of these scenes showed the importance of Munshi ji in Abdullah’s life and those were my favorite!

Important Developments

The most important developments in this episode surrounded Mansoora’s character. Even though Washma told Abdullah not to share the news of the pregnancy with Mansoora, he did just that. This proved to be that one major development that changed the course of the drama. When Mansoora told Sarwar about the pregnancy, his reaction made it pretty clear that he was not happy to hear this news. Atiqa Odho’s expressions suggested that she knew that he was going to react in this manner. From there on, Mansoora was on a mission. First, she went to Mahjabeen’s house and it was her mother who told her everything. Mahjabeen’s phone call to Sarwar while Mansoora was hearing what he had to say was such a good idea since that left no room for confusion. Although, Sarwar did not say much whatever he said was enough to show that Mahjabeen was telling the truth. Since Mansoora has been so ‘blind’ for so long, even at this moment I was not expecting her to open her eyes and see things for what they were.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 29 Story Review - Mansoora In Action

It seems like all Abdullah needed to feel more confident and in control was his mother’s support. Her conversation with Pho was so meaningful and important since it showed how difficult this was her. It also reflected her true feelings for Sarwar at the time. He did not only want Sarwar out of her life but she despised him as well and rightly so! Abdullah however stayed confused right till the last moment and sadly we did not hear him tell Shanzay that he could not go ahead with this marriage. Even when Mansoora asked him if he was happy, he was still confused! Sarwar reacted as confidently as always because he must have been thinking that Mansoora will eventually take him back. Abdullah’s inquiry and the final verdict will prove to be the final nail in the coffin. Abdullah and Mansoora both have a really good reason to feel guilty and it remains to be seen what they are willing to do in order to make up for their mistakes.

Shanzay continues to be desperate, seeking Abdullah’s attention, being insecure, and needy! This character and track have to be the most unconvincing ones we have seen in dramas lately. It is simply impossible to believe that someone like Shanzay would act this way and even if this is a reaction to the toxic relationship she just broke free from, it should have been made more clear. The way she ran to see Abdullah after Sarwar informed her that he had been quite busy lately and later on her excitement when she found out Abdullah was busy planning a surprise for her showed that she was simply obsessed with him! Was this track even needed?

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 29 Story Review - Mansoora In Action

Final Remarks

Tonight’s episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay was action-packed and powerful. Although I am really happy that Mansoora is finally going to be the mother which her children deserved and she will finally get rid of Sarwar, I am not too happy about the fact that Mahjabeen did not have a lot of dialogues in this episode. I absolutely love Mahjabeen’s character but for the past few weeks, she has lost her strong personality altogether. She clearly loves Abdullah, so much so that she thinks he is perfect but does he really deserve someone like her? For Mahjabeen’s sake, I really hope that these two get a happy ending. The preview of the next episode was really confusing! What was Sarwar doing in Mahjabeen’s house? Will Mansoora stick to her decisions? Will Abdullah be able to redeem himself? Will Abdullah’s confusion ever end? Looking forward to getting the answers to all these questions.

Bilal Abbas Khan’s performance tonight was simply upstanding, he has truly outdone himself in this one! Yumna Zaidi yet again proved that she can deliver even when she doesn’t have a lot of dialogues, her performance never ceases to impress. Atiqa Odho actually made me like and feel for Mansoora’s character tonight!

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 28 Story Review – 5 Stars For Washma

Tonight’s episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay was slow-paced and somewhat disappointing. There wasn’t enough focus on Abdullah and Mahjabeen; there were barely any conversations between the two. Abdullah’s reaction to the pregnancy could also have been covered more pleasantly. Although ‘confusion’ is a permanent part of his personality, this was the perfect moment for him to forget all the pressure and run to Mahjabeen. This episode had some substance as well but overall it could have been far more interesting had the story progressed slightly more at this point. There was excessive use of background score in this episode and there were times when it didn’t quite fit in either. The lack of communication between Abdullah and Mahjabeen was more frustrating than anything else. Shanzay continues to be unreasonable, she married a man who didn’t like her once before, and now although it is crystal clear that Abdullah is confused as well as distracted yet she chooses to ‘impose’ herself on him!

Abdullah and Mahjabeen

Tonight’s episode did not have a single meaningful conversation between Abdullah and Mahjabeen which for me was really frustrating to watch! Abdullah was happy to hear the news of Mahjabeen’s pregnancy, he has no intention of divorcing her yet when he was with her, he was distant and more confused than ever. Although I find it really easy to relate to Abdullah’s confusion, if he is going to change at all this would have been the perfect time to show that change. Watching Abdullah bite his nails, shop with Shanzay, and not communicate with Mahjabeen made me wonder if he will ever change. He feels that it is his ‘duty’ to talk to Shanzay and to spend time with him, it is not something he would be doing if he was given a choice.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 28 Story Review - 5 Stars For Washma

Mahjabeen has just lost her father and she knows that her husband will be marrying his ‘mehbooba’ really soon therefore her reaction made perfect sense. It is good news but she has too much on her mind to be happy about it. In the hospital, she was not even expecting Abdullah to drop her back but when he showed some concern, she instantly started expecting more. When Mahjabeen and Abdullah got married, I honestly thought they were the perfect match but the ‘villains’ at this point have taken away the spark from this track.

The Flashback Scene

The flashback scene showing how Sarwar used to intimidate Washma when she was only a kid was such a powerful scene. Until now the viewers had no idea that it wasn’t just Abdullah who was bullied by Sarwar but Washma was also treated in the same manner. This scene really put things into perspective; no wonder Washma knows Sarwar so well and understands why Abdullah is so scared of him. This scene made me like this fierce and determined girl evermore! She is a survivor, someone who chose not to be a victim of Sarwar’s abuse. This also explains why Abdullah finds it impossible to think for himself. He does not have a strong personality like Washma therefore at a really young age, he chose to do whatever Sarwar wanted so that he won’t be punished! But it is time to move the story forward now, will Abdullah finally take a stand for himself and his wife? Washma and Pho together could have given him the strength to do so but so far there have been no such attempts by them. Pho, on the contrary, is too busy counseling Mansoora! What a waste of time!

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 28 Story Review - 5 Stars For Washma

Mansoora and Sarwar

Tonight for the first time Mansoora shared why she could not let go of Sarwar even though she knew exactly who he truly was. The ‘log kya kaheinge’ part did not resonate with me at all since she did not think about that when she asked Abdullah to divorce Mahjabeen. She has enough money to move abroad and start a new life. The ‘addiction’ part and whatever Washma said made a lot more sense. I absolutely love Washma, she says whatever the viewers want to hear. She is like our spokesperson in the drama!

Sarwar’s scenes tonight were more elaborate than necessary, they could easily have been chopped down. I am not sure what he meant when he threatened Pho. Is there a secret involved? I really feel that we have seen enough of Sarwar’s evil ways and now things should be taking a different turn. The preview of the next episode showed that he is going to find out about the pregnancy. I hope that we get to see Sarwar’s downfall and Abdullah’s character development in the upcoming episode.

Final Remarks

Tonight’s episode belonged to Washma, Srha Asghar; what an amazing character and phenomenal performance. She has such a strong screen presence in this drama and her energy breathes tangible life into Washma’s character. I must admit that tonight I had a difficult time feeling for Abdullah, I wish the writer would have shown him in a different light after hearing this news. Although his confusion is logical, if he continues to be this way then Mahjabeen is better off without him! Having said that, Bilal Abbas Khan truly deserves an award for his performance. His acting has been on point in every single episode.

I also hope that Sarwar gets the kind of ending he deserves. The drama should wrap up now, it is better if that is done gradually instead of showing everything the writer intends to show in the last episode. I have really enjoyed watching this play and I hope that the ending is worth the wait.

Do share your thoughts about tonight’s episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 27 Story Review – Important Developments

Tonight’s episode perhaps had one of the most predictable and done-to-death developments to its credit but since that means Sarwar is going to be really disappointed really soon, I am extremely happy with this ‘good news’. Mahjabeen’s scenes tonight were heart-wrenching, Abdullah’s confusion continued, Washma is completely focused at the moment, Mansoora has started sensing the change in her husband and Sarwar for the first time is the one who is not in control! Tonight’s episode had many powerful and emotional scenes to its credit. Yumna Zaidi and Srha Asghar stole the show completely. While Mahjabeen’s scenes made me cry, Washma’s scenes made me hopeful that Mahjabeen was not alone. The confrontations and the conversations were on point. The only aspect of this episode and the drama, in general, is the make-up; Mahjabeen’s overall look did not go well with her situation at all. She could have looked pretty without the perfectly ironed clothes and rosy cheeks and lips.

Apart from the performances, the transition from one scene to the other was really smooth. The screenplay was handled intelligently, while the entire episode focused on all the characters, the way these tracks were interchanged throughout made this episode even more engaging. Rather than focusing on a single track for too long, the director divided the time evenly and intelligently between all the tracks. Also, kudos to the director for not shooting an all-white funeral scene! I loved the direction of this and the previous episode, the only thing which stood out like a sore thumb was Mahjabeen’s make-up.

Important Developments

Tonight’s episode actually had many important developments which I think was great considering this was the 27th episode. For the first time, perhaps Lalla Rukh and Washma talked about Sarwar, that is how the viewers got to hear the backstory. Lalla Rukh is such a compassionate person, she took consolation in the fact that perhaps Sarwar would give Mansoora the love her brother never did. It is also easy to understand after this conversation why Mansoora is so in need of love and attention. She never got it when she was married to her husband therefore it was easy for Sarwar to lure her into his trap.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 27 Story Review - Important Developments

The confrontation between Washma and Sarwar was another insightful scene in this episode. Washma talked about Sarwar’s “gandi nazrein” perhaps that is why she hated this man so much. She always knew that he was greedy but she could definitely sense something more than that. It is interesting how Sarwar never has much to say in his defense when Washma confronts him. Whenever Mansoora confronts him, he stands his ground and is convincing but with Washma he feels frustrated and angry yet he never tries to intimidate her. It would be safe to say that Washma is the only person he knows he cannot fool. He had tears in his eyes when she left because this sick man literally sees himself as the victim!

Sarwar is so convinced that there is nothing wrong with what he wants. On the contrary, he feels that everyone who stands in his way is wrong in doing so. His dialogues in the previous episode and his reactions in this episode clearly showed that he looks at his ‘love’ for Mahjabeen from a completely different angle. In his own mind, he is the victim, someone who for the first time has actually fallen in love and has been so unfortunate that his good-for-nothing step-son got married to that girl.

Abdullah is sick and tired of the Barbie (Shanzay) since he has not been answering her calls. At the same time, he knows that he cannot get out of this marriage arrangement without some serious help from Washma perhaps. It is sad that these two are not even talking to each other anymore.

Sarwar and Mansoora

The scene that was shown in the preview was missing from this episode. In fact, Mansoora felt lonely and not loved therefore she questioned Sarwar. While Sarwar is busy planning his next move, Mansoora is thinking about all those things which different people have said to her at different times. She also asked Abdullah not to divorce Mahjabeen unlike before when she was pushing him to do what Sarwar wanted him to. Mansoora and Abdullah’s conversation was beautifully written and one of the many meaningful conversations in this episode. For once Mansoora gave her son the right advice and through this conversation, the viewers got to know what was going on in Abdullah’s mind. Mansoora actually listened to Washma this time around since Washma told her clearly that divorcing Mahjabeen would make it easier for Sarwar to get what he wants.

It seems like Mansoora will eventually ‘get over’ Sarwar. Once he finds out that Mahjabeen is pregnant and Abdullah lied about the divorce, he will not be able to contain himself. Omair Rana yet again acted brilliantly in this episode.

Mahjabeen’s Emotional Scenes

All of Mahjabeen’s scenes tonight were extremely emotional. She loves Abdullah and begged him once again not to leave her. Her conversation with Sarwar showed just how innocent she is. The most emotional scene was the one in the graveyard. I wish she would have taken Sarwar’s name at that time. Somehow she is scared of taking his name. Now that she is pregnant, Abdullah has no reason to be ‘confused’.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 27 Story Review - Important Developments

Mahjabeen’s scenes with her mother were also some of the best one’s tonight. The way her mother protected her and tried to give her the confidence she needed was endearing.

Final Remarks

Tonight’s episode was engaging and poignant. I hope that all the tracks are wrapped up gradually in the upcoming episodes and we don’t see everything falling in place at the last minute! Abdullah needs to make up his mind, his character needs some much-needed change. Unless he learns to make his own decisions, there will always be someone or the other ‘confusing’ him. There is so much that Sarwar has done wrong therefore we should start seeing how Mansoora finds out about everything starting from the business hopefully soon!

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 26 Story Review – Emotional & Meaningful

Tonight’s episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay was emotional, well-executed, and well written. Although the most important development in the story was Munshi sahab’s exit, the way the writer used it to show the evilest side of Sarwar we have seen yet was pure genius! The characterizations and the performances continue to be the most compelling aspect of Pyar Ke Sadqay. Tonight for a change the viewers got to see Mansoora’s confusion and the preview of the next episode clearly showed that even though she knows everything she chooses not to do anything about the situation because she cannot live without Sarwar. The writer, director, and actor Malik Raza did justice to Munshi sahab’s character by giving him an exit which was impactful. Even though killing a character is not the best way to solve a conflicting situation and it would have been good to see an actual change in Mansoora’s character but that was not meant to be. Overall, the entire development was taken forward and covered realistically. Yumna Zaidi performed exceptionally well tonight and the director used the flashback scenes effectively in this episode.

Abdullah In The Office

Tonight’s episode opened with a really interesting scene, Abdullah sitting in his new office getting all the respect and validation he had been looking for his entire life. For a change, even Shanzay was quite supportive and her father seemed to have more faith in Abdullah than himself. Through this scene, the writer and the director showed that even at a time when Abdullah should have been living in the moment and enjoying the appreciation, he couldn’t help but think about Mahjabeen. Abdullah is constantly comparing his present situations with different events of the past. He thought about how Sarwar insulted him when it was his first day in his father’s office and how differently his father-in-law treated him. When he was appreciated for his skills, he thought about Mahjabeen, the person who was the first one to show the kind of appreciation which made him feel special. She was the first person who actually believed in Abdullah and was sure that he could achieve great things. These flashback scenes were brilliantly put together.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 26 Story Review - Emotional & Meaningful

This scene also showed that Abdullah was so good with numbers that he could easily monitor such data in his own office as well if Sarwar wasn’t there to tell him that he was not good enough. All Abdullah needed was someone who would believe in him. This was also a bitter reminder of the fact that Sarwar has done so much to destroy Abdullah’s personality and shatter his confidence. This was such a meaningful scene that told so much about Abdullah by showing so little!

Sarwar’s Conversation With His Mother

I never thought I could despise Sarwar’s character more but his reaction to Munshi sahab’s death showed how evil he was! He considered his death a loss in a completely different manner. And then he thought he was the ‘victim’, the one who was misunderstood. Sarwar always shows his true colors when he has these conversations with his mother. His mother’s dialogues also show why he is such a sick person. The only gratifying aspect tonight was that Sarwar was actually shown losing his mind because he had tried everything to make Mahjabeen and his father do whatever he wanted yet they did not let him dictate to him.

Mansoora and Pho’s Meeting

After Pho and Washma’s confrontations with Mansoora in the previous two episodes, Mansoora finally decided to pay Pho a visit. This visit gave an insight into Mansoora’s present state of mind. She is not a fool, she knows she should not be trusting Sarwar but she does not know if she is strong enough to follow what her mind is telling her and not do what her heart says. I absolutely loved Pho’s character and the way it has been translated on screen. She is so poised, intelligent, and definitely the kind of person who always gives the right advice. Although she has given up on Mansoora, she listened to her and gave her the kind of advice which did make her want to visit Munshi sahab.

Washma and Munshi Sahab

Although Munshi sahab’s exit made this episode extremely sad, the good thing was that in the end, it was Washma who was with him. He asked Washma to protect his daughter and she is the kind of person who will go all out to do that. She was doing just that even before he said his final words but now she will definitely try harder to make her mother and Abdullah see the truth. There was nothing new about the scene covering Munshi sahab’s death but it was definitely covered more convincingly than other such scenes which we have seen in dramas! The credit for that goes to both the actors involved and the writer as well who did not write an entire speech! There were only a few dialogues that were used to get the message across and they were powerful enough.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 26 Story Review - Emotional & Meaningful

The Most Emotional Scenes

Mahjabeen’s reaction to her father’s death, the way she combed his hair, the lie she told her mother to ease her, and later on her conversation with Abdullah were the most emotional scenes in this episode. Mahjabeen is in a way always looking out for the people she loves even when she is going through the most difficult times. Washma was there right by her side and Abdullah for once seemed to believe Mahjabeen even though this was the kind of ugly truth that was not easy to grasp. Yumna Zaidi and Bilal Abbas Khan’s outstanding performances made these scenes even more powerful.

Final Remarks

Tonight’s episode was well-put-together; the performance, direction and script were all impressive. The preview of the next episode was intelligently put together since it did not show Abdullah’s stance at all. I am waiting to find out whether there will be a change in Abdullah’s character or not. He should take a stand now and set his priorities straight. Mansoora, it seems, will remain ‘addicted’ to Sarwar till the end.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 25 Story Review – Intense & Engaging

This was one of the best episodes of Pyar Ke Sadqay because there were so many moments when you wanted things to go a certain way but then the writer made sure that she kept the viewers on the edge. Tonight’s episode was also really important in terms of story and character development. Although the story is at a really ‘typical’ juncture, I feel so connected to the central characters that I genuinely feel whatever they are going through. The credit for that goes to the writer for etching-out these beautiful characters and the actors who have given such outstanding performances. Yumna Zaidi is one of those actresses who never rely on make-up therefore I am pretty sure that the director must have asked her to sport this look even at such a crucial time. Yumna’s performance has been absolutely phenomenal throughout but Mahjabeen really should not be shown wearing any make-up at the moment.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 25 Story Review - Intense & Engaging

Abdullah’s confusion continues but he is clearly more inclined towards Mahjabeen now than he was in the previous few episodes. Washma got a lot of screen time tonight and she played an important role in giving Mansoora a reality check. Mansoora continues to act like a teenager who is madly in love! This episode showed the fight between good and evil like never before and I was almost sure that Mahjabeen’s parents’ faith in Allah will make them sail through these tough times, then I watched the preview of the upcoming episode which was seriously disturbing. This drama is getting more intense with every passing episode but I must say that it has my undivided attention. Munshi sahab will die in the next episode and that would be the turning point of the drama. Using a character’s death is not the best way to bring about major changes in the story but that is something our writers do all the time. I have a feeling, I might have a difficult time forgiving Abdullah after all this!

Mahjabeen’s Innocence and Confusion

For the most part of this episode, Mahjabeen was confused. She wanted to do something to help her father but at the same time, she could not bring herself to do what Sarwar wanted. Even when Washma was making her understand the situation in her own style, Mahjabeen wished Abdullah well. She is convinced that Abdullah does not love her therefore they should not be together. Right now, in some ways, Mahjabeen seems like the sanest character. She is not being selfish but is actually thinking about everyone else except herself.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 25 Story Review - Intense & Engaging

The questions Mahjabeen asked her mother went to show her confusion. Her dream was used intelligently by the writer to show her growing fears. It was ultimately because of this dream that she shared her fears with her mother. I really liked how her mother stood by her and gave her the confidence she needed at this time. Salma Hassan and Yumna Zaidi are so convincing in their respective roles.

Washma Is Back!!

Yes! The good news is that Washma is back in action. This episode opened with Washma finally paying Mahjabeen a visit. After she found out what had happened, she went back to confront her mother. This confrontation scene was so well-acted out and directed, I absolutely loved the intensity with which Srha Asghar translated her character on-screen throughout this episode. When Mansoora hit her, I thought maybe she will disappear for a while but thankfully that didn’t happen. She went to visit Mahjabeen once again and this time around she found out the truth. All these scenes were written convincingly and executed well too. The only issue was that every time Washma went to Mahjabeen’s house, she could easily let herself in. This happens in Pakistani dramas so often, people just leave their entrance doors open!

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 25 Story Review - Intense & Engaging

Sarwar and Mansoora

In this episode, it was quite clear that deep down Mansoora knows that Sarwar is capable of doing everything he has been accused of. She is too in love with him to let him go! Therefore she has made this really poor choice of sacrificing her relationships and even her values for this man. Although Mansoora’s character makes my blood boil, tonight her character made sense. The writer has shown that Mansoora cannot live without Sarwar therefore she is willing to do whatever it takes to make him stay in his life. Sarwar also knows that only too well! In the previous episodes too we have seen how she let Sarwar get away with beating Abdullah up. Whatever Washma said to her was true but it did not shock Mansoora at all since she is already well aware of the fact that her husband cannot be trusted and that she is being fooled.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 25 Story Review - Intense & Engaging

Sarwar’s scenes were really disturbing tonight. The scene in the prison especially showed his darkest side. He is getting even more dreadful and evil with every passing episode. It seems like he will eventually be the one to show his true colors to Mansoora.

Abdullah and Shanzay

There was a time when Abdullah used to compare Mahjabeen with Shanzay but now he is constantly comparing Shanzay with Mahjabeen. The phone call tonight and the way Shanzay laughed at Abdullah’s expectations should make it easier for Abdullah to make his final choice. He said that he had signed the divorce papers but we don’t know yet whether the divorce is final or not. Abdullah misses Mahjabeen and wants her in his life but there is too much pressure on him from Sarwar, Shanzay, and even his own mother to end his marriage with Mahjabeen. I really wanted Abdullah to tear down those divorce papers because it is about time that Abdullah took a stand for himself and his wife.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 25 Story Review - Intense & Engaging

Until last week, there was some hope that Shanzay might be the one to bring Abdullah and Mahjabeen together in the end but after watching this episode I have no such hopes. It is ultimately going to be Mahjabeen Washma and perhaps Mahjabeen’s mother who will perhaps do something tangible to change the situation. Even after everything that has happened, Mahjabeen holds no grudge against Abdullah – in fact, she is incapable of doing that! Bilal Abbas Khan’s performance was superb once again especially when Abdullah was signing the divorce papers.

Final Remarks

After watching this episode, it took me some time to disengage myself from Abdullah and Mahjabeen’s story! Although I know only too well that this is a drama yet even right now while writing this review I feel for Mahjabeen and just want her to be happy. In my opinion that is the real success of any drama – when you can relate to the characters at such a level! The preview of the next episode was painful! I am sure I am not the only one who wants things to get better now.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 24 Story Review – The Engagement

Tonight’s episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay was seriously upsetting, it is really frustrating watching Sarwar get exactly what he wants. Abdullah’s silence and ‘helplessness’ continue to make sense but that one particular scene in which he puts the ring on Shanzay’s finger even after Mahjabeen’s visit was painful to watch! I was really hoping that Abdullah will reconsider his decision and do something tangible at that time but apart from showing his unhappiness, he did not do much. This episode basically laid down the foundations for what is coming ahead. Sarwar has successfully managed to put Mahjabeen in the most vulnerable position, it remains to be seen if Abdullah will eventually leave Mahjabeen and will Sarwar get what he wants. At this point, the silence of those who could have done something is more upsetting. I felt for Mahjabeen and her family, she deserves to be happy.

The Trap

After trying everything else, Sarwar got Mahjabeen’s father arrested. Even though Mahjabeen’s father has been under so much pressure but the way he has taken a stand for his daughter is endearing. He has proved that he is a wonderful father who will never ‘trade’ his daughter’s happiness for the sake of his own convenience. Since the previous episode, Sarwar is more focused than ever and in the next episode, he might be able to convince Mahjabeen as well. It remains to be seen how Mahjabeen will get herself out of this situation since she is too innocent and more vulnerable than ever right now.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 24 Story Review - The Engagement

The most upsetting part was watching Mansoora act all naive and do exactly what Sarwar wanted. I was watching the episode yesterday in which Mansoora was shown suspecting Sarwar and more than ever I felt that there was a dire need to show how Mansoora changed her mind altogether. Right now we just have to assume that Mansoora wants Sarwar to stay in her life that is why she has decided to turn a blind eye and even support him. Except for Mahjabeen’s remark about the age-gap between her and Sarwar, nothing has been shown which would have indicated that she was fed up with Mahjabeen.

Shanzay and Abdullah

Shanzay might be desperate and slightly crazy but she is observant enough to know that Abdullah still has feelings for Mahjabeen. Tonight, she also played a major role in yet again convincing Abdullah that he needed to divorce Mahjabeen. Abdullah is being pressurized from all directions. Since he is the kind of person who needs the approval of Sarwar in particular therefore it makes perfect sense that even with all the love he feels for Mahjabeen, he cannot do what he wants. All of Abdullah and Shanzay’s scenes highlighted Shanzay’s insecurities and more than anyone else, she could feel that if given a choice Abdullah would have never left Mahjabeen for her. So basically Abdullah is being forced into this marriage but somehow Shanzay thinks it is alright since she is getting her own way!

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 24 Story Review - The Engagement

So, Shanzay went ahead with the engagement even though Abdullah had not divorced Mahjabeen. While watching the engagement scene, I was thinking that there is still room for the writer to ‘redeem’ Shanzay’s character even after everything she has done. If she comes back to her senses and goes back to being the intelligent woman she was, she could turn things around. It would also be the perfect way of getting Mahjabeen and Abdullah back together but the preview of the next episode suggested something entirely different! Bilal Abbas has done exceptionally well when it comes to showing just how confused and unhappy Abdullah is. Although I was furious when Abdullah put that ring on Shanzay’s finger, I also felt that he was doing all of this because he was too weak to take a stand for himself or Mahjabeen.

Washma Is Disappointed

This time around Washma has also given up and she is seriously disappointed which obviously works in Sarwar’s favor. Washma has given up on men especially after what Abdullah did. We have never seen such a reaction from a daughter or sister in our dramas. I think this is another element of Washma’s personality which makes her refreshing and interesting. Washma and Pho’s relationship, their scenes together were a breath of fresh air since it was good to see two people who have never let each other down. Srha Asghar and Sharmeen Ali share great on-screen chemistry and are so convincing in these roles.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 24 Story Review - The Engagement

This time around Washma and Pho have not talked to Abdullah like they did before. While Washma anger is understandable, there was no reason why Pho didn’t talk to Abdullah about this. All Abdullah needed was some support and he could have made a better decision.

Mahjabeen’s Innocence

Just like every other episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay, the best part of this episode were all those scenes which showed just how innocent Mahjabeen is. Yumna Zaidi is beyond amazing in all such scenes, her expressions are always on point. Her dialogues about the clever girls always being the ‘mehbooba’ were so cute. She tried her best to win Abdullah over and she did too but even then she is stuck in this situation which is beyond her control. Mahjabeen’s dialogues and Yumna’s expressions in the engagement scene were the highlights of this episode. She wished Abdullah well and even apologized for being there, even though she was heartbroken. I love how Yumna makes sure she doesn’t have eye contact with anyone when Mahjabeen is going through the most difficult times and emotions. She tries to hide her pain even though otherwise she is so transparent.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 24 Story Review - The Engagement

Final Remarks

Although It is truly upsetting watching Sarwar win for now and the preview of the next episode did not look too promising, I am still hoping that some of the characters will surprise the viewers. Abdullah, Washma, and even Mansoora can do a great deal. I just hope that we get to see a closure which is gratifying. Even though Pyar Ke Sadqay is being stretched but I still find myself looking forward to it and I cannot disconnect myself from Abdullah and Mahjabeen. Although there were no guests at the engagement which was odd, it was the best scene tonight because everyone’s expressions said a great deal.

One of my favorite therapists shared this on her page today and I think all of these personality traits explain why Abdullah always finds it so hard to do what he wants to do. What do you guys think?

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 23 Story Review – Sarwar Is Winning

This latest episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay made it quite clear that the writer wants things to go in Sarwar’s favor for now. We will probably be watching a few more episodes showing Sarwar getting exactly what he wants and Mahjabeen suffering even more. Although Washma and Pho made the much-needed intervention yet their efforts didn’t yield results. Unlike before, this time around Pho did not make Abdullah understand the situation, she decided to talk to Mansoora instead. Shanzay was completely missing from tonight’s episode while Sarwar took the lead. Mansoora showed her dark side which was rather disappointing but it made some sense. Mahjabeen’s helplessness was the most heart-wrenching part of tonight’s episode. It seemed like much of what Mansoora said about Abdullah’s state of mind was coming from Sarwar. Abdullah is still as confused as he was before. Although his confusion and weaknesses are causing all these problems and watching him act this way is frustrating, the fact is that his actions continue to be in line with his actual personality. Even though the story has taken a typical route, I still find Pyar Ke Sadqay engaging especially because of the characterizations and performances.

Sarwar Is Winning

The opening scene of this episode was amusing because of Mahjabeen’s innocence although she was obviously going through hell. The reference she gave was hilarious! It was her way of showing how disappointed she was with her husband who should have protected her. It would have been so good if we actually got to see Mahjabeen’s father talking to her. Later on, he did try to salvage the marriage and once again reminded Mansoora what he had told her already although her demeanor clearly suggested, she was not in the mood to listen.

The log kya kahei ge part was also covered in most of the scenes covering Mahjabeen’s track in this episode. Although this is something common which is shown in every other drama but tonight while watching this episode I actually felt the pain of these characters more than ever! Even while going through so much pain, sometimes people are pressurized into worrying about what people are saying and how the family will answer all these questions. On the other hand, Mansoora does not have to worry about all this because of her status in society.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 23 Story Review - Sarwar Is Winning

Sarwar completely took charge tonight, he is back to being himself. In the past few episodes, his character had been relegated to the background but that was most certainly not the case tonight. In the previous few episodes, it was Shanzay who played a major role in changing Abdullah’s frame of mind therefore it was strange that she didn’t have a single scene tonight. Sarwar made sure that he was there every time Mansoora was unsure about the decision or Abdullah was confused about whether what he was doing was fair or not! The conversation he had with his mother and Mahjabeen’s father revealed his actual plan and once again showed just how evil he is! It was frustrating watching Sarwar win for now but Omair Rana’s performance was on point throughout.

It was also quite clear that Mansoora’s sole purpose in life right now is pleasing Sarwar. She is not thinking things through because she does not want a confrontation with him. Pho was right when she said that Mansoora had greatly been influenced by Sarwar. In some of the scenes, Atiqa Odho’s expressions suggested that she did not trust everything Sarwar was telling her but she went along with it anyway!

Washma and Abdullah’s Scenes

I absolutely loved Washma and Abdullah’s scenes tonight. They were so well-written and acted-out. Srha Asghar and Bilal Abbas Khan are extremely convincing in their respective roles. Washma’s style of confronting Abdullah is always the same, she never listens to him, she only says what she wants to say. She is always direct and fiery in her confrontations. In the first scene, Abdullah managed to convince her that there was nothing between him and Shanzay which led to pacifying Washma and a really sweet interaction between these two. I really liked how she spelled out bewafai and what was wrong with Abdullah’s action because no one else has explained this situation in such a manner so far.

Their second interaction was typical Washma style confrontation and Abdullah’s reaction was priceless. Once again, the performances by both the actors involved were phenomenal. Washma’s anger was justified and Srha did a spectacular job of translating her disappointment on screen. Had Sarwar not been there, this scene could have led to Abdullah changing his mind but he made sure he was there to ‘support’ him.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 23 Story Review - Sarwar Is Winning

Mahjabeen’s Phone Call

Mahjabeen’s phone call to Abdullah basically showed just how desperate she was to get back. She has always been frightened of letting other people down and coming up to their expectations therefore she will do whatever it takes to prove that she is capable of keeping her marriage intact. Her situation makes you feel for her, poor girl, she definitely deserved better. Abdullah loves Mahjabeen and he definitely has that sensitive side as well yet Sarwar won’t let him make the decision which would actually make him happy. It was good to hear Munshi sahab tell Mansoora that her son had also failed as a husband.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 23 Story Review - Sarwar Is Winning

The Preview

The preview of the next episode showed that Sarwar will make the most wicked move by blackmailing Mahjabeen and her mother. He has done his homework well and Mansoora is by his side completely! Right now, I would love to see Mansoora getting a bitter reality check, she totally deserves it. The engagement will take place in the next episode as well.

Final Remarks

Even with some disappointing turns in the story, I am waiting to find out how it is wrapped up in the end. I am really hoping that Sarwar gets what he deserves. The brilliant performances by all the actors involved tonight were a delight to watch. The only awkward scene tonight was the proposal scene! It was probably supposed to be funny but it wasn’t executed too well. Yumna Zaidi’s performance was exceptional in this episode as well but her overall look did not go well with the situation she was in. In all the scenes her styling, make-up, and outfits were perfect. Mahjabeen and Abdullah continue to be the reason why I tune into this drama every week. Washma is another character that is beautifully etched-out.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 22 Story Review – Mahjabeen Deserves Better

With this episode, Pyar Ke Sadqay has officially entered a phase that is painful to watched and has done-to-death written all over it. Although everything makes sense, it is definitely upsetting watching a drama like Pyar Ke Sadqay banking solely on a man’s lack of good judgment just like so many other dramas. It happens a little too often in our dramas that the man, whether he is an intelligent businessman or someone as gullible as Abdullah falls for the trap set by the ‘other woman’ and her ‘accomplices’ of course! This drama had plenty of tracks that could have been used to take the story forward. Mahjabeen and Abdullah could have joined hands against Sarwar, Mansoora could have been the opposing party but unfortunately, the writer took the same old route. Abdullah has such a caring and sensitive side, watching him drop Mahjabeen like that was such a disappointment.

Abdullah and Mansoora Disappoint

A lot of people talk about the negative portrayal of women in dramas but I feel that the way men are portrayed in dramas is equally regressive. Abdullah was such an appealing grey character, his flaws made him human and his strengths made him likable. In the past whenever he was confused or in need Washma, Pho, and sometimes even his mother were there for him. This time around there was absolutely no one to guide him in the right direction, as a consequence Sarwar and Shanzay took over! This entire process of changing Abdullah’s mind took a lot of days yet no one intervened. Mansoora has clearly changed sides and given up on Mahjabeen completely which is yet another disappointing development. Basically, the writer did everything in her power to ensure that Shanzay and Sarwar will eventually be able to manipulate Abdullah. Abdullah remembered what Munshi sahab said to him about Mahjabeen being a liar but he completely forgot everything he had said to him in the recent past.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 22 Story Review - Mahjabeen Deserves Better

While it is understandable that there is so much pressure on Abdullah he chose to ‘get rid’ of the woman who was not blackmailing him since that was the easier choice. Shanzay’s suicide obviously played a major role in all this. Her desperation tonight was yet again terribly annoying. She is turning out to be a pest!! Her reason for forcing her way into Abdullah’s life is that he makes her happy! The loser makes her happy, we can only wonder how?! Abdullah has barely interacted with his mother in all these weeks and tonight Sarwar convinced Mansoora that Shanzay is a better ‘option’! So basically Mansoora’s scenes in the previous episode were pointless. She is once again doing exactly what Sarwar asks her to do. Mansoora’s character too had so much potential, the way she was willing to help Mahjabeen learn their ways and she had a caring side too, now it seems she is back to being the irresponsible person who takes orders from her good-for-nothing husband.

Abdullah’s weaknesses and his ‘majburis’ made sense but even then the writer ruined a beautiful character by turning him into yet another irresponsible and insensitive husband. Abdullah and Mahjabeen could have been a force to reckon with yet we have watched only a few scenes covering their happiness and companionship. The flashback scenes, Abdullah and Mahjabeen’s expressions and feeling after Abdullah dropped her off to her parent’s house showed that they were both in love with each other. Abdullah did something he did not want to do, he was also hurt and broken but right now I feel for Mahjabeen more than I do for Abdullah. I am waiting for Washma to knock some sense into him. Even though Abdullah’s behavior was extremely disappointing tonight but Bilal Abbas Khan’s performance was topnotch like every other week.

Washma and Pho

Washma and Pho are finally back in the picture, thank God for that!! Tonight’s episode focused on Washma personality for a change. Her conversation with Pho and reflected her opinion about love and men in general. These conversations also gave the viewers an insight into her dead father’s personality. Washma is finally thinking about getting married but she was clearly more concerned about what she witnessed on her way than anything else. Washma’s character continues to be the most refreshing element of Pyar Ke Sadqay. Srha Asghar and Sharmeen Ali have played their respective roles really well. Both of them are independent and intelligent women who always find an easy way out of the most difficult situations. Most importantly they look out for each other and the people they love. Such positive characters should definitely be given more screen time and shouldn’t be sidelined.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 22 Story Review - Mahjabeen Deserves Better

Poor Mahjabeen

I always saw Mahjabeen as a strong character even with all her shortcomings. She always managed to find a way out and no matter what happened she stayed positive and happy. For the first time tonight, it seemed like Mahjabeen was truly sad! This time around she couldn’t rescue herself or cheer herself up like she always does. I truly felt for her tonight and there were times when I thought that she deserved better than Abdullah!

She has literally begged everyone in the house to let her stay for all these weeks yet she was asked to leave! Mahjabeen’s mother yet again said something tonight which she shouldn’t have said in front of her. Whatever she said confirmed her fears and that was probably why her confidence was completely shaken when she was trying to convince Abdullah once again! Yumna Zaidi has been absolutely phenomenal as Mahjabeen, she translates Mahjabeen’s innocence exceptionally well on screen.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 22 Story Review - Mahjabeen Deserves Better

Final Remarks

Tonight’s episode was terribly upsetting, a drama such as this one shouldn’t have taken this turn. The preview of the next episode was even more upsetting. Hopefully, Washma will be able to turn things around since Abdullah does love Mahjabeen, he only needs someone to make him realize that. I am also hoping that we will get to watch Abdullah’s character development since it is much-needed. I am waiting to see how Sarwar is punished in the end and Mansoora should be shown setting a good example for her daughter!

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 21 Story Review – Shanzay Is a Loser

Yes! Shanzay is a loser and she is taking the entire plot of the drama down with her. When and how she turned into a loser is still a mystery but this newfound loserpan is responsible for the story going down a path that is clichéd to the core. Two women fighting over a man, one if modern and clever, the other one old-fashioned and innocent, never thought Pyar Ke Sadqay would take such a turn. This entire scenario has been-there-seen-that like a million times written all over it. Mahjabeen is the saving grace of Pyar Ke Sadqay. Her character is adorable and amusing at the same time. Even in this ridiculously clichéd situation, Mahjabeen’s scenes make you laugh and fall in love with her a little more! No matter how ridiculous things get Yumna Zaidi and Bilal Abbas Khan’s performances continue to keep you engaged and looking forward to more.

Right now, there are a lot of loopholes in the script and the fact that some of the more sensible characters have suddenly disappeared makes it quite apparent that the writer wants to prolong the conflict. Although I am utterly disappointed at the recent turn of events since there were so many more interesting possible scenarios that could have been shown, Mahjabeen and Abdullah make this drama bearable.

Shanzay Is a Loser

This scene was laughable for so many reasons. Shanzay has conveniently been turned into a loser in order to add conflict in the story and make the viewers root for Abdullah and Mahjabeen. So, Shanzay still thinks that Abdullah is a loser yet she is dying to get married to him! If she was 13, her present state of mind would have made perfect sense. Not only is she much older but she was a really sensible and confident girl as well. First, she chose to get married to someone who wasn’t even remotely likable then even before she got a divorce she thought she needed a backup! The backup is a guy she does not even think is worthy of her. If Shanzay has low self-esteem the viewers should have been informed about it so that all this desperation made more sense.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 21 Story Review - Shanzay Is a Loser

I was expecting Shanzay to fake the suicide but as it turned out she actually tried to take her life for the ‘loser’! That does make Shanzay the biggest loser in the drama but while Abdullah’s character has been well-established in all these episodes, Shanzay sudden loserpan is simply unexplainable and yes I just can’t get over it! For now, this loser is taking the plot forward with her desperate ways. Shanzay sole mission in life right now is loser lrke ke dil se ek loser lrki ko nikalna! Yashma Gill’s acting isn’t helping either, it makes it even harder to take the character seriously.

Abdullah’s Promises

Although Abdullah is being extremely unfair, gullible, and foolish at the moment, understanding why he is letting the loser and the manipulator get the best of him is easy. He made a promise to Mahjabeen and tonight he also promised Shanzay that he will marry her. He has always been shown as someone who gives in to pressure easily. He is in love with Mahjabeen therefore promising to be with her was something that came straight from the heart. He made that promise to Shanzay simply because he was being pressurized left, right and center! Bilal Abbas’ expressions said it all when he made the promise! He is like a child who is being forced to do something he does not want to do.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 21 Story Review - Shanzay Is a Loser

Abdullah’s decisions and actions have been frustrating but everything he does is always in line with his character unlike Shanzay who is simply not the same person anymore. Sarwar once again played a major role in convincing Abdullah that he had to marry Shanzay. Shanzay’s father played his part as well! He is back to being the ‘cool and unreasonable’ dad! Abdullah does not want to leave Mahjabeen and if given a choice he would never marry Shanzay. In my opinion, his character is way better than all those other male leads we see in such dramas who are intelligent people yet they fall for the other women like they are naive. At least, in this case, we know that Abdullah has certain weaknesses and Sarwar knows how to manipulate him.

Mahjabeen Is a Darling

Mahjabeen’s scenes tonight were the best part of this episode. Right now she is the wisest and the most likable character in the play. She can sense what is going on and like a good wife she is trying to do whatever she can to please her husband. Even though she can be so sensible at times, she can’t help saying the most inappropriate things! I am glad that the writer retained the innocent and spontaneous part of her personality because without it Pyar Ke Sadqay would have been difficult to sit through at this point.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 21 Story Review - Shanzay Is a Loser

Mahjabeen’s dua was the highlight of this episode. The way she reconsidered what she asked for made me laugh so hard. It was a nice way of asking Allah to help her by doing something not-so-nice to Shanzay!! Yumna Zaidi nailed this scene, she is amazing as Mahjabeen.

What Is Mansoora Thinking?

Mansoora made a brief appearance in this episode but his scenes suggested that she was thinking about something. The scene in which she was shown sitting on the table with the papers in front of her made me wonder if she was doing something in the background that might prove to be a game-changer. I am waiting to find out.

Final Remarks

The preview of the next episode was promising, I really hope that the story takes a different turn next week. Mahjabeen will finally speak up and it seems like Mansoora will be back in action too. This episode had quite a few scenes and scenarios that made little sense but even then Mahjabeen and Abdullah kept it engaging enough. In one of the scenes, Abdullah mentioned that Mahjabeen knew about Shanzay’s proposal and in the next one Mahjabeen was asking about Shanzay’s marital life, that was confusing! I am looking forward to the next episode and despite the shortcomings, I am enjoying watching Pyar Ke Sadqay.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 20 Story Review – Sweet

Tonight’s episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay had the most heart-warming scenes. While watching the episode, my faith in the writer was restored. However, the preview of the next episode showed just how desperate Shanzay was to get married to Abdullah. Shanzay’s character has stopped making sense altogether. Abdullah and Mahjabeen’s characters continue to be the best aspect of the drama. The writer is focusing on the love triangle at the moment but that does not explain why Mansoora and Washma are out of the picture all of a sudden. Mansoora got offended by Mahjabeen’s remarks in the previous episode but why is Washma no longer interested in ‘grooming’ her? Abdullah and Mahjabeen’s scenes were the highlight of this episode as usual. Yumna Zaidi and Bilal Abbas Khan have truly outdone themselves in this drama. They have done complete justice to their unconventional characters. The situations however remain quite clichéd!

Abdullah Makes Up His Mind

Although the previous 2 episodes were not great in terms of story development in general, Abdullah’s confusion and his actions always made sense to me. The portrayal was perfect throughout which definitely helped understand what Abdullah was going through. Shanzay’s situation coupled with the brainwashing done by Sarwar led Abdullah to spend more time with Shanzay because he felt that she needed her. He was never comfortable with the idea of getting married to Shanzay. One aspect of Abdullah’s personality that has stood out more than any other in the past few weeks is that he is a soft-hearted individual. He is always considerate of other people’s feelings because he is a sensitive individual. He is also someone who has never been loved unconditionally by anyone. This is the main reason why he fell in love with Mahjabeen too.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 20 Story Review - Sweet

Mahjabeen of course played a major role in helping Abdullah make up his mind. While Shanzay was losing her patience and pushing him, Mahjabeen was being loving and extremely patient. Although Mahjabeen is simple otherwise, when she wants to get something done, she knows how to go about it. The fact that she is in love with Abdullah made it easier for her to fight for him. I absolutely loved the scene covering Abdullah’s ‘break-up’ with Shanzay. This was probably the first time that he did something which took so much courage. Even though he could not look Shanzay in the eyes but he was not afraid of letting her go. Abdullah made a wise decision and Shanzay pride was clearly hurt.

The scene at the restaurant was also well-written and acted-out especially by Bilal Abbas Khan. His expressions when Shanzay was talking about marriage were on point.

Abdullah and Mahjabeen

Abdullah and Mahjabeen’s scenes tonight were so cute that I couldn’t help but wonder how amazing this story could have been if Shanzay was not in the picture. If this fight was between Sarwar, Mahjabeen and Abdullah, it would have been so much more interesting. Mahjabeen is turning out to be the wiser one at the moment and Abdullah also finally came through when he made the right decision. The ‘mehbooba’ scene was one of the best tonight!

Mahjabeen’s father with Abdullah was meaningful but I am glad that the writer did not show that Abdullah felt for Mahjabeen. His feelings were shown exceptionally well given the circumstances. Abdullah was completely dedicated to making Shanzay ‘feel better’ until she proposed him. The idea of leaving Mahjabeen probably helped him understand his feelings better. Both these characters have certain strengths which I hope will ultimately lead to a happy ending. The Shanzay track is extremely forced and with dramas like Thora Sa Haq forcing such situations, a drama like Pyar Ke Sadqay shouldn’t even go down that road.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 20 Story Review - Sweet

What Is Wrong With Shanzay?

Seriously!!! There is absolutely no explanation for the not-so-desirable changes in Shanzay’s character. We are not even sure if she is divorced yet she is planning her next wedding. Not only did she propose Abdullah but she also looked forward to meeting him like she was actually in love with him! When, why, and how did this happen – only the writer knows! This is the biggest flaw in the drama right now. Considering that Shanzay will be around, more desperate than ever in the upcoming weeks, the writer really should have helped the viewers understand why is Shanzay doing all this. Yashma Gill’s performance also leaves a lot to be desired!

The Other Characters

Sarwar’s conversation with his mother was actually amusing! While his motives are clear, I am wondering how he intends to keep the lifestyle he is so used to after he manages to somehow get married to Mahjabeen. Mansoora was completely absent from tonight’s episode. It happens so often in our dramas that the writers conveniently sideline a character because it is easier to take the story forward in a certain direction if that character is less active. I still remember the conversation Mansoora had with Pho, if her character was going to be taken forward in such a manner then that conversation shouldn’t have been shown. I am also wondering where Washma is! These two characters, in my opinion, should be in the picture at all times.

Final Remarks

Mahjabeen and Abdullah make Pyar Ke Sadqay worth watching. The characters, their tracks, and the performances never disappoint. Even though Mahjabeen’s ‘zindagi ke mazboon mei pass’ dialogue was not really in line with her character, for the most part, her scenes reflected her true personality. Abdullah’s decision tonight was refreshing but the preview of the next episode promised more of the same! Shanzay is really annoying and because of her Sarwar’s character is gradually losing the impact it had. Overall, however, I really enjoyed watching Abdullah and Mahjabeen’s scenes.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 19 Story Review – The Proposal

Pyar Ke Sadqay has some of the most appealing and refreshing characters yet the writer decided to take the story forward in the most clichéd manner possible. Although Abdullah and Mahjabeen’s characters are unconventional, the story has taken a turn that is anything but unconventional. Shanzay’s sudden interest in Abdullah is the most unconvincing part of this entire development. Tonight’s episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay however was much more entertaining than last week. Mahjabeen continues to entertain, her innocence and her attempts to win her husband back were the highlights of this episode. While Mahjabeen and Abdullah’s track gives me something to look forward to, Shanzay is simply unbearable and not just because she is the ‘other woman’! Yumna Zaidi’s outstanding performance makes Mahjabeen’s character even more likable. Bilal Abbas Khan has added much-needed nuances to his character. I expected more from Mansoora’s character but for now, the writer wants her to play dumb!

Shanzay’s Proposal

So, the thappar was successfully used to convince Shanzay’s father that she should get the divorce from Esa. And if it wasn’t for the thappar, Shanzay wouldn’t have gone to Abdullah’s office in a night suit, told him that Esa hit her and proposed to him! So using this thappar, the writer fast-forwarded the story and all of a sudden Abdullah and Shanzay were talking about marriage. Shanzay’s lip gloss and Yashma Gill’s performance both were over the top in this particular scene! Usually, when the writer wants to take the story forward in a certain direction, he or she has two options, either use logic or just do what needs to be done and hope that the viewers will play along! Well, sadly leaving logic behind is never a good idea and that is exactly why most of us are having a really difficult time relating to Shanzay and Abdullah’s track!

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 19 Story Review - The Proposal

A girl like Shanzay can surely live a few years as a divorcee, she doesn’t have ‘Mahjabeen issues’! No mohallay ki aunties to worry about and she doesn’t need to be afraid of being looked at as a failure! Ever since Shanzay made a re-appearance in the show, she is a completely different person. The person the viewers were introduced to in the beginning few episodes, wouldn’t do anything close to what Shanzay is doing. She was a confident and intelligent girl but one bad experience has turned her into a desperate woman who would break someone’s marriage to have them in their lives! Also, I am still wondering how and why would Shanzay find Abdullah attractive!

Abdullah’s reactions and his confusion on the other hand made perfect sense tonight. I am glad that we were shown in a subtle manner that Abdullah is confused. It gives me hope that it won’t be difficult for someone to make him realize that he should not even be thinking about getting married to Shanzay. Sarwar has always been a bad influence, I am waiting for Pho and Washma to be back in the picture for good like they were before. For now, the writer obviously does not want anyone to knock some sense into Abdullah.

Mahjabeen’s Character Development

Mahjabeen’s gradual character development is the best aspect of Pyar Ke Sadqay right now. Yumna Zaidi has breathed life into this beautiful character, she continues to be the highlight of every single episode. I absolutely loved the fact that Mahjabeen decided to share everything with her parents, good girl Mahjabeen! She proved that she is a wise girl even with all her limitations she handled the entire situation really well. The way she told Sarwar off was extremely gratifying.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 19 Story Review - The Proposal

Mahjabeen’s opening conversation with Mansoora was used by the writer to show that Mansoora was gradually giving up on her. Mahjabeen hit a nerve when she mentioned Mansoora and Sarwar’s age-gap in the most inappropriate manner. She obviously said this out of innocence but Mansoora found it humiliating. Apart from that, all of a sudden, Mansoora has given Sarwar a clean chit and is listening to him the way she was before. He got away with harassing Mahjabeen not once but twice in this episode.

Mahjabeen has come a long way from the girl who was scared of Sarwar and couldn’t even think about saying no to him. She confronted him and for a change took a good initiative on her own to look nice for her husband. Mahjabeen is not going to give up on this marriage this easily because she loves Abdullah and of course she just cannot face those aunties asking her all those questions! How cute is Mahjabeen, I love her character. Her confidence and positivity makes her such an admirable character.

Ever single conversation Mahjabeen had with everyone tonight was beautifully written and translated on screen. After watching this episode, I am rooting for Mahjabeen and Abdullah more than I ever was before.

Final Remarks

Except for the Shanzay/Abdullah track, this episode was engaging. There are definitely some serious shortcomings in the script at this point but tonight’s episode gave hope that we might get to watch sense prevail in the end. Abdullah and Mahjabeen’s track is still logical therefore there is reason to look forward to what the writer has in store for us. The preview of the next episode also suggested that it won’t be that easy for Abdullah to leave Mahjabeen and marry Shanzay. He definitely has feelings for Mahjabeen, he just doesn’t know it yet!

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 18 Story Review – Bad News

This latest episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay for the most part was quite predictable and disappointing. I have always found it really easy to relate to the characters in this drama but ever since last week, there are some obvious flaws that have definitely affected the quality of this drama. The only refreshing aspect of tonight’s episode was Mahjabeen’s innocence. Everything else wasn’t just in bad taste but was also executed in the most unconvincing manner. I am still hoping that even if this drama has to be stretched we will at least get to see scenarios that make sense in the upcoming episodes. Yumna Zaidi never ceases to impress with her phenomenal performance. Bilal Abbas Khan continues to be convincing in Abdullah’s role. Omair Rana is another actor who never disappoints but it is not pleasant watching Sarwar have his way! Mansoora has apparently forgiven and completely forgotten.

The Change In Abdullah

Mahjabeen and Abdullah’s love story is one-of-a-kind, I hope that it continues to be just that! While every love story has a ‘villain’ this one has two now! Tonight’s episode opened with Sarwar playing mind games with Abdullah yet again and this time around Abdullah did not have that soft corner for Mahjabeen because of which he always defended her. The difference in Abdullah’s attitude when he is around Mahjabeen and Shanzay is quite apparent. Being around Shanzay is like a dream come true for Abdullah, on the other hand he is clearly embarrassed when he is with Mahjabeen in public. In all the scenes covering Abdullah and Shanzay’s interactions, one thing was obvious that he is still completely smitten by her. Even when he was not with her, he was either talking to her or thinking about her. For now, it seems like he is completely helpless and isn’t really thinking about the entire situation. He is just too happy that Shanzay wants to spend time with him. He was never too eager to go out with Mahjabeen therefore his reaction when they were in the mall was a lot like before.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 18 Story Review - Bad News

Mahjabeen definitely felt the disconnection and this time around, Abdullah did not apologize for his behavior. Usually Mahjabeen brings up his rude behavior at some point, later on but she did not do that either. There is definitely a big difference between the Abdullah we saw at the beginning of the previous episode and the one we saw tonight.

Mahjabeen’s Grooming

Mahjabeen’s grooming lesson and all the conversations revolving around it were the most amusing part of the drama. Her innocence was a nice break from Shanzay and Esa’s boring track! Mansoora has taken up the responsibility of grooming Mahjabeen but her bahu is not complying! I absolutely love her confidence and it is really cute the way she tries to avoid anything related to learning something new. There could obviously be an easier way of convincing Mahjabeen by telling her that Abdullah would love her more if she took these lessons. Yumna Zaidi nailed the scene covering Mahjabeen’s first and perhaps last grooming lesson. Her expressions were so spontaneous and hilarious.

Mahjabeen continued to find happiness in small things and even if something disturbed her, that feeling did not last long. The good thing about her character is that she is distracted easily. This aspect of her personality keeps her character from getting too serious. Washma’s scenes are always a breath of fresh air. She knows exactly what is going on which makes me wonder why she doesn’t get more involved in what is going around in the office. I am waiting for Mahjabeen to share something about Sarwar with Washma, perhaps then she can give Abdullah the sound advice he so badly needs!

Shanzay’s Track

Shanzay’s track continues to be the worse part of Pyar Ke Sadqay. She finally moved out of Esa’s house and remembered who she was! I wonder what took her so long and was this wedding even necessary? The fact that someone like Shanzay was even willing to go ahead with this marriage is hard to digest. If that wasn’t enough, she turned to Abdullah of all the people in the world for companionship! Does she have no friends? Surely she couldn’t suddenly be attracted to someone she could not even stand! The preview of the next episode suggested that she will also propose Abdullah. Has she learned nothing from her experience with Esa? The thappar at the end of this episode was completely uncalled for. Couldn’t this marriage end without marital abuse?

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 18 Story Review - Bad News

Shanzay was a sensible girl who gave really sound advice to Abdullah when he came to her with the proposal. It took one toxic relationship to change her stance altogether! Why is she even thinking about getting married just now? Where was Shanzay’s father when she was shouting for him? There are so many questions in my mind regarding this track, I wonder if they are going to be answered.

This entire track seems extremely forced, I can’t even imagine someone like Shanzay wanting to be with Abdullah. What is she after? Does she wish to be ‘Esa’ in his life? Abdullah and Shanzay went out for lunch but it was night time when they were in the restaurant, a common mistake in our dramas nowadays!

Final Remarks

I missed watching Mahjabeen and Abdullah’s sweet interactions in this episode. Abdullah is a good person and I am really hoping that he will eventually decide not to leave Mahjabeen. Right now, the story has taken such a turn that it can really go downhill if not handled wisely. Mansoora’s character is getting confusing, she had started questioning Sarwar but tonight she defended him like she never suspected him. The preview of the next episode showed Shanzay proposing Abdullah and Sarwar harassing Mahjabeen.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 17 Story Review – Shanzay is Back

The story really has taken a new turn but not one which I was expecting it to take. The best thing about Pyar Ke Sadqay so far has been the convincing and refreshing storyline. None of the characters or the scenarios so far have been conventional. It seems however that Pyar Ke Sadqay will also turn in to a love triangle in which one man has to choose who he wants to be with. I really hope that is not the case but the recent shift in the story suggested just that. I felt for Mahjabeen while watching this episode, just when Abdullah started accepting their relationship, Shanzay came back into his life. Yumna Zaidi and Bilal Abbas‘ performances continue to be impressive. This episode was also well-executed but the recent shift in the story was extremely unpleasant.

Shanzay Is Back

I never disliked Shanzay’s character not even when she told Abdullah off because clearly Abdullah wouldn’t have been a suitable life partner for her. The advice she gave Abdullah was not conveyed in a nice way but there was nothing wrong with what she suggested because actually Mahjabeen is the perfect match for him. Tonight however everything she did showed that she was a selfish person who had learned absolutely nothing from her wannabe punk fiancé’s toxic personality traits! Shanzay’s track has made no sense in the past few weeks. The viewers were not shown why and how Shanzay ended up with someone like Esa since she always knew what kind of a man she wanted to marry. She was shown as a confident and outspoken girl therefore there was no reason for her to settle for someone who put her down constantly.

In this episode, she explained to her father that she didn’t see through Esa. This explanation did not work for me at all since he had started showing his true colors before marriage but somehow Shanzay only shared her concerns with her father after she got married to him. The overall look of the actor playing Esa’s role is absolutely terrible, he needs some serious grooming himself. If this truly was a really classy looking man it would have been easy to understand that he managed to ‘fool’ Shanzay. So after realizing what it feels like to be belittled, she has decided to flirt with another woman’s husband…how sad is that!!

I am also terribly disappointed with Abdullah but at least his reactions definitely make sense. Abdullah was completely blown away by Shanzay and he had just started feeling attracted towards Mahjabeen. Even though he got married to Mahjabeen, it was only something he did to prove to Shanzay that he managed to find someone who needed him more than he needed her. Mahjabeen is to Abdullah what Abdullah was to Shanzay, the only big difference is that they are married now! Sarwar also played a major role in giving Abdullah the hope that he can still get married to Shanzay. We have seen right from the beginning that Sarwar exercises great control over Abdullah therefore it makes perfect sense that he listened to him instantly and ran to see Shanzay. The kind of welcome he got was completely unexpected, more than ever now he is convinced that he is likable and can perhaps have Shanzay in his life. Right now it seems like Shanzay is lonely and she is using Abdullah. She is not even bothered about how all this will impact Abdullah and Mahjabeen’s marriage.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 17 Story Review - Shanzay is Back

Abdullah was too busy worrying about Shanzay and putting Mahjabeen down in this episode. The difference between Mahjabeen and Shanzay is obvious – you do understand why Abdullah who fell for someone like Shanzay would find it difficult to fall in love with Mahjabeen.

Poor Mahjabeen

Mahjabeen was the real victim tonight who has been doing whatever it takes to make her marriage work yet she is now facing a situation that is beyond her control. Mahjabeen’s innocence is the most appealing aspect of this drama. Her main goal in life is to please her husband, she has no idea what and who she is up against. When Mahjabeen heard Shanzay calling Abdullah her best friend, her reaction was too cute. She is clearly possessive about her husband and can sense when someone is doing something that is not right!

Later on, Abdullah told her off more than once, he was a completely different person right from the time he came back home. In the morning, he was quite happy with Mahjabeen but after meeting Shanzay and being brainwashed by Sarwar (rather quickly) his behavior towards Mahjabeen changed altogether. Mahjabeen definitely has a more strong personality than Abdullah. The only hope now is that Washma or Pho will find out about this and knock some sense into Abdullah.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 17 Story Review - Shanzay is Back

The way Washma told Sarwar off today was satisfying! She really is the only one who sees him for who he actually is. Mansoora and Sarwar once again have gone back to being ‘love birds’. This time around Sarwar did not have the guts to take Mahjabeen out therefore he is more cautious now.

Final Remarks

I am not too happy with where the story is going but I am hoping that the writer will continue to surprise us with another twist which works in Abdullah and Mahjabeen’s favor. Abdullah is easily influenced by Sarwar, he needs someone to guide him in the right direction. Sarwar it seems will team up with Shanzay to get what he wants. While it is understandable why Sarwar is doing all this, I am wondering why Shanzay is looking for an escape in Abdullah! I don’t find this part of the story too convincing. Tonight’s episode was visually pleasing and Mahjabeen’s scenes were cute. Abdullah and Mahjabeen make an amazing on-screen couple, waiting to see their happy ending.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 16 Story Review – New Turn

Tonight’s episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay laid the foundation for future developments. Mahjabeen’s innocence and her reactions continue to be the most likable part of this drama. Abdullah appears to be much wiser in comparison to Mahjabeen. Both of them have their strengths and weaknesses, together they make an adorable on-screen couple. I am disappointed with Mansoora after watching this episode but I am glad that the writer is showing gradual changes in her character. Everything was shown realistically tonight, the performances never disappoint. Shanzay’s husband-to-be is turning out to be an annoying character, you wonder why she accepted this proposal since she was shown as a sensible young lady. The actor playing the role makes the character even more annoying if it really was someone with some ‘class’ everything would have made more sense. Apart from the excessive background score in the last scene and Shanzay’s track, everything about this episode was perfect.

Mahjabeen and Abdullah are Adorable

I loved the opening scene since Mahjabeen took the lead and rightly so! It is really amusing how Mahjabeen takes everything someone says to her so seriously. This is one of those character traits which actually worked in her favor tonight. She remembered what Mansoora said to her and because of that she has a new-found confidence. Her biggest insecurity was that someone might ask her to leave the house, now that she knows that no one can do that, she can exercise more control in her own way. Mahjabeen is all emotions yet she forgives so easily. Yumna Zaidi looked really pretty in the pink dress and her attempts to make Abdullah pay for his mistake were simply adorable. The excessive background score, however, was slightly annoying since this scene was quite long.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 16 Story Review - New Turn

Abdullah was disturbed for some time but his attitude when he came back home suggested that he had a difficult time doubting Mahjabeen. Abdullah is naive and also gullible. He listens to Sarwar more than he should. He uses his own mind and often he draws the right conclusions but somehow he acts on Sarwar’s advice more than whatever he concludes himself. Bilal Abbas Khan has given such a convincing performance throughout. Yumna Zaidi and Bilal Abbas Khan’s on-screen chemistry is a big reason why their scenes are always a treat to watch.

Mansoora and Washma tried to ‘educate’ Mahjabeen and Abdullah in this episode. It is good that they have a lot of positive people around them who are always giving them sound advice. The romance it seems has started and it remains to be seen how soon these two truly fall for each other. It is great watching a love story which involves such characters, there is no ego at play, both of them are innocent and gullible at the same time. They have their strengths and weaknesses which makes both these characters appealing in their own unique way.

Mansoora and Sarwar

Mansoora yet again has gone back to being swayed away by her husband’s charm. She showed her discontent and also for the first time set some boundaries. Unlike before she did not sit back and watch Sarwar tell Abdullah what he should be doing but at the same time yet again she let her husband manipulate her to some degree. She was clearly hurt when Abdullah confided in her but her reaction was not as strong as I was expecting it to be. One thing is for sure, Mansoora does not show her actual emotions or even what she is thinking. She is much wiser now, something she said to Sarwar too indirectly but at the same time, she is choosing not to confront Sarwar, which is actually quite realistic.

The fact that Mansoora is completely smitten by her charming husband has been laid down well therefore it won’t be easy for her to change her attitude towards him completely overnight. I find Mansoora’s character more interesting than all the other supporting characters right now. It is a well-etched-out grey character, we don’t get to see such characters n our dramas often. Also, she picks her fights wisely knowing fully well that letting Sarwar go is not easy for her. Atiqa Odho has translated every single emotion impeccably on screen. The director deserves credit for making sure that the camera catches all of these emotions.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 16 Story Review - New Turn

The change in Sarwar’s attitude after Mansoora shared her point of view with her showed that Mansoora could have things her way if she put her foot down more often. Sarwar acted naively yet again and he also manipulated his wife with the ‘step-father’ dialogue. No one has mentioned Abdullah’s position and the table he was given in the office. Mansoora did what she wanted to, she did not feel the need to ‘discuss’ this with Sarwar. Last week it seemed that she was only going to go forward but it will take something huge for her to take a big decision.

Mansoora’s dialogue about the house being her kids’ was my favorite tonight. It went to show that although she ended up falling for the wrong man, she is not foolish. She is wise enough to get a lot of messages across without directly confronting Sarwar. Her husband obviously knows how to win her approval. Sarwar definitely lives a sad life! Omair Rana never fails to impress. I am waiting to see if Sarwar will confront Abdullah at some point. Mansoora could have easily told him off without telling him that Abdullah shared this secret with her. Sarwar’s conversations with his mothers are being used intelligently as a means to communicate his true feelings with the viewers.

Shanzay’s Annoying fiancé

The actor playing Shanzay’s is really irritating! It would have been good if someone like Omair Rana was playing this character. The writer through this track is obviously trying to show that in a way Shanzay is being punished for telling Abdullah off. Now she has someone in her life who does not value her and thinks she is not good enough. Honestly speaking, I feel that Shanzay was only being honest with Abdullah, and in a way she did him a favor. She was however insensitive at times therefore the writer is probably trying to show that what goes around comes around. I find this track slightly immature so far but I am waiting to see how it progresses in the future.

Final Remarks

Pyar Ke Sadqay is my favorite drama right now because of its beautiful characters and scenes which are almost always meaningful. Every episode has some substantial development. The preview of the next episode was enticing. Looking forward to the effect Washma’s words have on Abdullah. I am also wondering what Sarwar’s next move will be.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 15 Story Review – Emotional Ride

After watching this episode I have a difficult time deciding which emotion was more powerful; sadness, confusion, anger, or empathy. Each one of these emotions was translated brilliantly on screen thanks to a script that continues to impress and performances which are award-worthy. I fall in love with all the characters even more with every passing episode. All these characters have been written down intelligently with the utmost clarity. All of them are layered and they can be pleasantly surprising most of the time. Tonight’s episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay yet again was meaningful and entertaining. The last scene however was not the best! Mahjabeen’s ‘good news’ was confusing as well, I only have one question how long have they been married? It seemed like Abdullah and Mahjabeen have been married only for a few days but that is clearly not the case. The story is moving forward with a steady pace and even after all these weeks the characters are still intriguing.

Mansoora Starts Questioning

The fact that Mansoora derived intelligent conclusions from what Mahjabeen told her tonight was hands down the best part of this episode. Mansoora’s character is getting more interesting with every passing episode. She used to come across as gullible before but as the story is progressing it is plain to see that she is completely capable of suspecting Sarwar and trusting someone who she is only getting to know.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 15 Story Review - Emotional Ride

Mansoora is clearly a good judge of character but as Sarwar said in the previous episode, she is not going to confront him until she has proof. The scene covering how Mahjabeen ended up telling Mansoora that Sarwar took her out for lunch was the perfect example of an intelligent screenplay. The gradual change in Mansoora’s perception was shown superbly throughout in different scenes. She is progressively addressing all those issues which make her an ‘enabler’. Making Abdullah sit on his father’s chair was the first step and reassuring Mahjabeen that Sarwar wasn’t in charge was the second. These have been small steps in the right direction, Mansoora still has a long way to go. The conversation she had with pho was such a good way of letting the viewers know how confused and helpless she felt.

When Abdullah came back from the office looking terribly upset, Mansoora did not look worried or even surprised. This was a normal routine for her therefore she simply asked Mahjabeen to console him. Right now she isn’t as actively involved in making the much-needed changes as she should be. This is going to be a difficult path for her but it seems like eventually, she will be putting her foot down. Mahjabeen and Mansoora together can be a force to reckon with. Mahjabeen can give Abdullah the love he needs and Mansoora can give him the confidence he is clearly lacking. Atiqa Odho’s exceptional performance tonight definitely added to the appeal which this character has. Her expressions were superb in all the scenes even when there were no dialogues.

Sarwar’s dialogues and scenes tonight were equally powerful. Although Sarwar is a negative character, he isn’t plain or shallow. I find his character interesting as well. His relationship with Abdullah in particular reflects his complexes. Even though he has Abdullah under his thumb but the fact that he wasn’t born in a rich family like his step-son irks him every second. When he was talking to his mother about Mahjabeen, his main source of frustration was that she was married to Abdullah.

Also, the writer has given us a background to this character too. The way his mother brought him up has a lot to do with the person he is today. He had such a personality naturally too which was further nurtured by his mother. Omair Rana acted superbly in the scene covering Sarwar’s frustrations when he was having this conversation with his mother. Even after ‘accomplishing’ so much and being in control of virtually everyone around him, it is plain to see that Sarwar has a tough time liking himself even!

Mahjabeen and Abdullah

Abdullah once again tried hard to prove himself and Sarwar left no stone unturned to make him feel worthless. Sarwar knows how to shake Abdullah’s confidence and he does not get tired of making him feel useless. The manager’s character is confusing, when Abdullah came into the office it seemed like he supported him but now he is completely on Sarwar’s side.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 15 Story Review - Emotional Ride

Bilal Abbas Khan’s expressions were on point when Abdullah comes back from the office but his thicker facial hair made no sense! Mahjabeen and Abdullah’s scene in the room after this was the only good scene covering this beautiful on-screen couple. Mahjabeen’s love and attention are quite likely to win Abdullah over eventually. He already likes her and he also likes the fact that there is now someone in his life who is willing to listen to all those problems which he has never discussed with anyone else.

He always defends Mahjabeen but at the same time he ends up being influenced by Sarwar even if that is the case only for a little while. Mahjabeen’s advice to Abdullah was hilarious! Their dialogues and situations have been so well written. Every time Mahjabeen asks Abdullah to take a stand for himself or she shows the desire to do something herself to give Sarwar a piece of her mind, Abdullah immediately stops her. This is such a good way to show the kind of influence Sarwar exercises on him, he cannot even imagine doing something like that.

I am not too happy with the last scene but I am hoping that this would prove to be yet another one of those incidents which bring these two closer to each other. The preview of the next episode suggested just that. Bilal Abbas Khan and Yumna Zaidi individually and as a couple is an absolute delight to watch. They translate the various shades of their characters beautifully on screen.

Although Washma got little screen time today, she still managed to leave an impact. I loved her first scene in tonight’s episode, Washma is definitely one of a kind and Srha Ashghar is so well-suited for the role.

Final Remarks

This was another superb episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay filled with emotions, laughs, and tangible development in the story. The performances never disappoint and all the scenes add something meaningful to the story. Now that Mahjabeen knows that baray sahab doesn’t have the final say, will her approach towards him change? Will Mahjabeen help Abdullah get over his fear of Sawar? The preview of the next episode was promising. Looking forward to it.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 14 Story Review – Loved It

Pyar Ke Sadqay’s dark comedy never fails to impress. This was another beautifully penned down and brilliantly executed episode of a drama which is becoming more intense with every passing episode. I found myself rooting for Abdullah and Mahjabeen, cheering them on, every step of the way. Their smiles and triumphs make me genuinely happy and their trials make me emotional almost instantly! This connection makes Pyar Ke Sadqay so special for me.

This is the only drama after Ranjha Ranjha Kardi that manages to transport me to another world. Bilal Abbas Khan and Yumna Zaidi have truly outdone themselves. The writer Zanjabeel Asim Shah has definitely proved that she understands the human psyche and she most certainly knows how to keep the viewers intrigued. There is tangible growth in the characters or the story every week, which is amazing! There was some change in Mansoora’s approach today which was shown logically. This episode was also well-paced. There wasn’t a single scene that was unnecessary.

The best thing about this episode was the kind of communication all the characters had. Usually, it is the lack of communication that creates issues between married couples or relatives in general. I am so happy that the writer did not bank on such done-to-death scenarios. On the contrary it has been shown convincingly that even with so much communication between all these characters, the circumstances are such that there isn’t much anyone can do just yet.

I also would like to mention here that keeping the comic element alive throughout and literally making the viewers laugh and cry at the same time is a big accomplishment in itself.

Change in Mansoora’s Attitude

The opening scene of tonight’s episode was so meaningful. Usually, Mansoora apologizes to Sarwar a lot, more than necessary! This time around however she did not say sorry even once. Also, the way she looked at Sarwar suggested that she wasn’t too happy with him. Although Mansoora told Munshi sahab off but the information he gave her definitely affected her attitude. Sarwar’s dialogues about Mansoora never confronting him without a solid proof also suggested that lack of proof could be the reason why she was quiet at the moment. Sarwar knows that his manipulation tactics work every time therefore he was the least bit bothered about this entire incident. On the contrary, he took this as a ‘challenge’ and has now started intimidating Mahjabeen’s father too.

Mansoora also decided to pay a visit to the office. She instantly took control and made some decisions without paying much heed to what Sarwar wanted. She also reminded the manager that everything belonged to Abdullah and Washma. It was really good watching Mansoora support her son for a change without worrying about how Sarwar would feel about these changes. Since this was the first time that Mansoora actually took a stand, I would like to think that this was because of what Munshi sahab told her.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 14 Story Review - Loved It

The scene in the bedroom covering Sarwar and Mansoora’s conversation regarding the change in Sarwar’s attitude was truly impressive! Sarwar uses his charm to ‘distract’ Mansoora whenever she tries to think with her head instead of her heart. Omair Rana is so well-suited for this role, he looks charming enough for the role and make it easy to understand how he managed to ‘fool’ Mansoora for all these years. He has translated the evil and manipulative side of Sarwar exceptionally well on screen. Atiqa Odho is equally convincing and most importantly she does really well when it comes to adding different nuances to her character. Mansoora is not as gullible as we all thought she was! That is definitely good to know and makes this entire situation even more interesting.

Mahjabeen and Abdullah

Tonight we got to see a different side of Mahjabeen, one which was just as lovable as all her other personality traits. She is quite capable of putting two and two together. We have seen more than once that Mahjabeen gets ‘distracted’ easily. One minute she could be shouting at someone and the next minute she will act like everything is fine. That is why the fact that she was comfortable around Sarwar once they went out did not come as a surprise. Mahjabeen’s conversation with Abdullah after the encounter with Sarwar was the best part of tonight’s episode. She feels safe around Abdullah and she did not think before sharing how she felt with him. I loved Abdullah’s reaction too. He instantly wanted to protect her. Had Sarwar not intervened things would have been different. I am truly impressed by the screenplay!

When Sarwar intimidated Abdullah in front of Mahjabeen, the way their demeanors changed was impressive. Mahjabeen and Abdullah both realized all of a sudden that they were not in control! It was like a bitter reality check which basically made me wonder how different things would have been had Sarwar not been in the picture. Abdullah also defended Mahjabeen when Sarwar accused her father of fraud in the office. I can totally see Abdullah falling for Mahjabeen in the near future. I also feel that once Mahjabeen decides to take a stand for herself and her husband, she is bound to be a force to reckon with.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 14 Story Review - Loved It

The scene at Mahjabeen’s house was both serious and comic. I must say that even after showing so many serious scenarios, the writer still managed to end the drama on a humorous note. The only thing I didn’t like was the way Mahjabeen’s mother did not take what she said too seriously. She was moving around so much even when Mahjabeen told her that Sarwar touched her inappropriately, she did not sit down to talk to her. The conversation was written well however. Now Mahjabeen after this conversation will try to please Abdullah more and it seems that Mansoora will try to make Abdullah look out for his wife.

I loved Yumna’s expressions in this last scene.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 14 Story Review - Loved It

Final Remarks

Remarkable performances, perfect casting, beautifully penned down characters and an intriguing storyline make Pyar Ke Sadqay a must-watch. Tonight’s episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay was perfectly put together. Except for the scene covering Mahjabeen’s ‘outing’ with Sarwar. Her change of clothes and fancy jewelry did not go well with the situation. This was a minor glitch that can easily be ignored since other than this, tonight’s episode was simply outstanding.

For the first time there will be a ‘misunderstanding’ in this drama but not in the way we usually see it!! Looking forward to what is ahead. Mansoora is keeping a close eye on her husband, will she notice the changes in his behavior after the ‘khushkhabri’?

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 13 Story Review – Interesting Developments

Tonight’s episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay had some really important developments. Mahjabeen’s father’s attempt to seek help from Mansoora failed miserably and it looks like Shanzay is already regretting her decision. Although Shanzay and her fiance’s argument in the previous episode made it clear that they were not on the same page but the scene covering this couple’s meeting with Abdullah and Mahjabeen tonight did not work for me. Except for a few of the dialogues, the rest of the situation was slightly unconvincing. Every scene in this recent episode however contributed something new to the story.

Pyar Ke Sadqay continues to be an interesting mix of comedy and drama. There are some aspects of the story which are definitely serious and even dark while there are others which are light-hearted. The best aspect of this play so far is that the writer has balanced these two out really well without undermining the seriousness of certain situations that are being shown.

Mahjabeen and Abdullah

Mahjabeen and Abdullah continue to be really interesting characters. Even though Abdullah still has not forgotten Shanzay but he appreciates the way Mahjabeen accepts and likes him for who he is. Mahjabeen too is quite generous when it comes to complimenting her husband. While her husband is following his step-father’s advice, Mahjabeen is playing the role of the wife as well as she knows how to. A lot of the scenes covering Mahjabeen’s attempts to play this role right suggest that she has picked up much of it from what she has seen on television. She is constantly referring to how it is supposed to be or how it should be, which of course is extremely adorable. It is a nice way of showing her innocence.

Even though Abdullah hasn’t had a perfect life but he has quite a few people in his life who have made him feel loved. Abdullah is receptive and sensitive which is why he is afraid of hurting Mahjabeen’s feelings. Like every other episode, this one too had a few scenes which showed Abdullah’s gentle and well-mannered side. I think apart from his innocence, this part of his character is the most likable.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 13 Story Review - Interesting Developments

Mahjabeen is definitely trying harder to be closer to Abdullah. She has a lot of love to give. It is interesting how these two give each other confidence wherever it is lacking. All the scenes covering their relationship in this episode once again showed that they were completely capable of making each other happy. The scene at Pho’s house covering the information about ‘expecting’ will probably lead to a situation that would be both comic and might be alarming for Sarwar. Yumna Zaidi owns her character completely. I love the confidence with which she acts in the scenes showing Mahjabeen’s innocent side.

Sarwar and Mansoora

Sarwar and Mansoora’s first scene together in this episode showed how Mansoora could sense the change in Sarwar’s attitude. This was a good way of making the viewers look forward to what was coming ahead. I thought that maybe now Mansoora will actually take the information given to her by Munshi sahab seriously. It won’t be wrong to say that apart from being gullible, Mansoora is also in denial. Her reaction, therefore, was disappointing but completely in line with her character. Although Sarwar has been shown regretting his decision to marry Mansoora before too but perhaps for the first time he is finding it harder than ever to hide his actual feelings at this time.

Sarwar simply cannot get over the rejection. The conversation he had with his mother revealed what his plan was. He is waiting for Abdullah to leave Mahjabeen so that he can marry her. That is why he is doing whatever he can to keep Abdullah from getting too close to Mahjabeen. Sarwar is so used to having his own way that I am convinced that it is not just a matter of ‘dillagi’ but this is his ‘zid’ too.

Although Sarwar hates being married to a woman who is much older than him but the fact is that he wouldn’t have been enjoying the status he is today if it wasn’t for Mansoora. She is also definitely someone who has been ‘facilitating’ him by ignoring his negativity. Sarwar’s mother is another person who guides him in the wrong direction and has failed to play the role a mother should be playing.

Sarwar and Abdullah

I must say that Sarwar is more wicked when he is around Abdullah because Abdullah cannot defend himself and is easy to dominate. The mind games he plays with Abdullah actually works because of the fact that Abdullah is really scared of him. Abdullah definitely knows right from wrong, he also knows when Sarwar is being unreasonable but he has come to the conclusion that it is best if he does not confront Sarwar. Bilal Abbas Khan’s performance in the scene covering their interactions in the office was truly impressive. Bilal Abbas has made sure that he translates all the emotions aptly on screen. Omair Rana is equally convincing ad the evil and manipulating man who cannot look beyond himself.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 13 Story Review - Interesting Developments

Abdullah is conscious of his surroundings, he feels embarrassed in the office but he does not have the confidence to stand up to Sarwar. His confusion and lack of confidence make perfect sense. Later on, he lies to his Phupo because he knows that there is nothing that they can do about the situation.

Final Remarks

This was another entertaining episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay with some exceptional performances to its credit. Yumna and Bilal’s on-screen chemistry has given this couple a definite edge. Their individual performances are remarkable too. The preview of the next episode suggested that Sarwar will exploit yet another situation to his advantage. The most appealing aspect of this preview was Mahjabeen’s scene with Abdullah in which she shares how she feels about Sarwar’s advances. Really looking forward to the next episode.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 12 Story Review – Meaningful and Entertaining

This latest episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay highlighted Mansoora’s failure as a mother, Mahjabeen drawing the right conclusions about Sarwar and Abdullah turning to the right people for advice. Mahjabeen’s parents are back in the picture, which I think is great. In so many dramas the parents are conveniently sidelined after a girl gets married, thankfully, that is not the case here.

I really like the fact that there are no plot-holes in the script so far. The screenplay is rock solid. However, some of the scenes tonight were not translated on-screen too convincingly. Mahjabeen’s transformations in both the scenes did not look too radical on-screen. She more or less looked the way she did before. The dialogues and situations suggested a complete change in her overall look. Also, her hairstyle completely changed when she was out with Sarwar for dinner. Apart from these minor glitches, this was another superb episode of a drama which is one of the best dramas on air right now.

Meaningful Situations and Dialogues

Tonight’s episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay had so many meaningful scenes and dialogues which in a subtle manner translated the underlying emotions of different characters. Abdullah’s “I’ll manage dad” was one such dialogue. After insulting Abdullah in front of the entire office, Sarwar yet again started giving him unwanted advice which was clearly meant to brainwash him. Abdullah does not have the guts to tell his step-father off therefore this was his way of telling him that he did not need Sarwar’s advice. The fact however remains that Abdullah is easily influenced not only by Sarwar but by anyone at all.

I loved the scene covering Mansoora’s behavior when Abdullah and Sarwar came back from the office. Although this was a big day for Abdullah but she did not ask him how his day was. She in fact asked Sarwar how the day went and actually sympathized with him. Later on too when Abdullah said he was not feeling well, she did not inquire about his health. She was more worried about Sarwar in all these scenes than she was about Abdullah. This was such a good way of showing where she was lacking as a mother. It also went to show where her priorities lied. It was an intelligently written scene that explained why Abdullah felt so worthless and he never took his mother into confidence. Mansoora is on Sarwar’s side and no one knows that better than Abdullah because he is the one who has paid the biggest price.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 12 Story Review - Meaningful and Entertaining

Mansoora trusts Sarwar completely although she is a wise woman otherwise. Washma is the intelligent one who knows Sarwar better than everyone else. Her character balances out Mansoora’s gullibility. Therefore unlike dramas like Balaa, we have a strong character who can see through Sarwar and is not afraid to speak out. Washma has also managed to stay away from this toxic environment and she is also doing whatever she can to make Abdullah’s marriage with Mahjabeen last. Washma’s reality checks to Sarwar are always gratifying and on point. Phupo’s character is a breath of fresh air too. Although her brother is no longer in the picture but she is such a supportive and positive character in the play. Srha Asghar’s energy and apt portrayal never ceases to impress.

Mahjabeen and Abdullah

Mahjabeen and Abdullah’s scenes tonight covered different dimensions of their relationship. After Sarwar brainwashed Abdullah, he could not even bear to be around Mahjabeen but after the conversation with phupo, his attitude was different. Mahjabeen for now is definitely more receptive and vocal. She shared with Abdullah whatever Sarwar said to her about him and also mentioned that she did not feel like giving him the respect which she should, considering that he is her father-in-law. This conversation between these two was innocent but meaningful too.

Perhaps for the first time, Abdullah openly shared how he felt when Sarwar insulted him. The interesting bit was that he knew that he was right! He is therefore intelligent enough to know that Sarwar is playing games with him but does not accept that even in front of his sister and phupo. Seems like Abdullah finally has someone he can confide him. Also, who would understand his problems more than Mahjabeen who has faced rejection all her life.

I must say that tonight for the first time I felt that Bilal Abbas Khan completely overshadowed Yumna Zaidi. Although Yumna Zaidi has acted superbly throughout but this episode truly belonged to Bilal Abbas Khan. The way he translated different emotions on screen especially in the scenes in which he was scared and unsure was impressive.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 12 Story Review - Meaningful and Entertaining

Sarwar and Mahjabeen

Sarwar flirted with Mahjabeen more than once and she felt uncomfortable when he did so. Although Mahjabeen is innocent but she is smart enough to tell that there is something wrong with the way Sarwar interacts with her. The best part of this episode was that Mahjabeen can already see that Sarwar does not deserve to be respected and at least tonight she was not even scared of him. Sarwar’s plan is to turn Mahjabeen and Abdullah against each other, so far Mahjabeen does not listen to him the way Abdullah does. Omair Rana acted exceptionally well tonight too. I especially liked Yumna Zaidi’s performance in the scene covering her interactions with Sarwar when they went out for dinner. The confused and tense expressions on her face were priceless.

Final Remarks

Pyar Ke Sadqay is turning out to be an exceptional drama. Tonight’s episode also showed how concerned Mahjabeen’s parents were and in the next episode her father will talk to Mansoora. I seriously doubt that Mansoora will believe him but she will at least be more vigilant, perhaps. Shanzay is already having issues with her fiancé who it seems is a lot like her! The ‘hoshyar khoobsurat larki’ dialogue was really sweet and Abdullah’s reaction was even more so. I loved Bilal Abbas’ look tonight, it looked like he was tired and worn out.

The best thing about this episode was that even with things getting slightly serious, the light-hearted scenes were entertaining as usual. It is great watching characters which make you laugh but they have such emotional stories.

Eagerly looking forward to the next episode! Share your thoughts about this episode.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 11 Story Review – Continues To Impress

This latest episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay yet again beautifully reflected different shades of all the characters. There are of course some of the traits which are more dominant than others. So far, the characters in Pyar Ke Sadqay have been fleshed-out so remarkably well that you feel an instant connection to them. The variety of characters and scenes also adds to the appeal since the mood changes as different characters appear on-screen.

Sarwar is just as evil as he is insecure, his wife is the perfect example of a weak woman who is gullible, Mahjabeen is the perfect mix of confidence and innocence. Abdullah’s most dominant feature is his desire to please his step-father, this personality trait has proven to be the most harmful. It is also interesting the way Sarwar knows how to manipulate people. Although this character is negative but I find myself looking forward to Sarwar’s scenes because he drives the plot forward more than any other character.

Mind Games

Tonight’s episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay opened with Sarwar playing mind games with Abdullah who like always was easily influenced. Sarwar has a certain control over everyone in the house except for Washma. Washma is the only one who sees things for what they are and also has the guts to speak her mind. Pyar Ke Sadqay has some strong female characters which is another appealing aspect of this drama. Mahjabeen trying her hand at being the khidmat guzar bahu was funny and cute. Her innocence and outspoken nature stood out more than anything else. Her concept of winning her in-laws over obviously comes from whatever her mother taught her. Her obsession with Dr. Hammad continues to be amusing. She even told the cook about it even though Abdullah asked her to forget her ‘ex’!Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 11 Story Review - Continues To Impress

The most powerful scenes were the one in which Mahjabeen served tea to Sarwar and later on her interaction with him when she went to get the tie. Omair Rana and Yumna Zaidi gave phenomenal performances in both these scenes. Mahjabeen’s innocence is in complete contrast to Sarwar’s conniving and evil nature. At the same time, Mahjabeen is clearly a misfit in the house because her antics are completely different. Even though she keeps on saying that she will adapt to her environment but that is definitely not going to happen anytime soon. Abdullah’s mother has failed to protect him but there are some traits of her personality which are also likable. She has accepted Mahjabeen wholeheartedly. I am glad that for a change the story is not going to be about a poor girl suffering at the hands of her in laws because of her status. Mahjabeen will suffer in the long run but everything that was shown in tonight’s episode suggested that Sarwar is going to go about it in his usual manipulative way. He dropped the tea on purpose to make Mahjabeen feel like she wasn’t capable enough, it would have been nice if there was some actual tea in the cup. Right after dropping the tea and begging Sarwar to give her passing marks, Mahjabeen did not hold back while defending Abdullah. This was also one of my favorite scenes from tonight’s episode.

Sarwar has already started intimidating Mahjabeen and is trying to control her. Mahjabeen is too innocent to understand his motives and his wife doesn’t have a clue what his intentions are since Sarwar is constantly mocking Mahjabeen in front of her. Tonight’s episode focused on Abdullah and Mahjabeen’s individual interactions with Sarwar more than their interactions with each other.Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 11 Story Review - Continues To Impress

Washma’s dialogue reminding Sarwar of his background was gratifying. Shra Asghar looked great tonight and even though she got few minutes on screen but her scenes were well acted-out and meaningful. Sarwar doesn’t respond to her the way he does to everyone else. However, he took this opportunity to manipulate his wife by walking out.

The scenes at the office showed Sarwar’s insecurity. He could not bear to see Abdullah getting all that respect. The fact that Abdullah is good with numbers was used effectively in this scene. He picked up the discrepancies immediately but it did not take Sarwar long to convince him that he was incapable of supervising such matters. Bilal Abbas Khan’s performance in all these scenes was so impressive. He acts so well when Abdullah is nervous around Sarwar. The way Abdullah constantly looks for Sarwar’s approval is heart-wrenching. It is unfortunate that Mansoora turns a blind eye to all the mental and physical abuse because she is somehow convinced that she needs Sarwar in her life. She has the money and a running business but she lacks the confidence to run it on her own. And obviously she is smitten by her young and charming husband.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 11 Story Review - Continues To Impress

The scenes leading to the conversation Mahjabeen had with her aba and the conversation itself was truly heart-warming. Sarwar is a predator who plays on people’s weaknesses and he never misses his target. Mahjabeen’s father knows him only too well therefore he was able to handle the situation wisely.

Final Remarks

This was another powerful and emotional episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay packed with enough scenes to keep it light-hearted. It seldom happens that a drama makes you laugh and cry at the same time. Apart from Ranjha Ranjha Kardi, this is the only drama that has managed to do that. The performances have been outstanding and I am really impressed with the kind of versatility the leading actors have shown in this play. All these characters are complex therefore only a good team of actors could have breathed life into them. I would also give Zanjabeel Asim Shah tons of credit for penning down an exceptional script.

Will Abdullah listen to Sarwar or will Mahjabeen’s support make him a more confident individual? I am looking forward to watching more of Mahjabeen and Abdullah’s scenes together in the upcoming episode. Now that Shanzay is married, will Abdullah finally move on?

Do share your thoughts about tonight’s remarkable episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay.

Pyar Ke Sadqay Episode 10 Story Review – Beautiful Characters

Tonight’s episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay was entertaining and meaningful as usual. Once again, the focus was entirely on Abdullah and Mahjabeen. Their scenes are always an absolute treat to watch because the makers of the drama have successfully humanized characters which we rarely see on screen. I must say that Mahjabeen and Abdullah remind me of Bhola for so many reasons. I am also glad that we are getting to see more of such characters on our television screens. Just like Bhola’s character, in every episode, Mahjabeen, in particular, makes you laugh and cry at the same time. I watch every episode of this drama with a critical eye and every time I am impressed by how perfectly etched-out these characters are. I missed watching Shanzay in this episode. Other than that, the story was taken forward convincingly throughout. Not a single scene was out of place or unnecessary. Some of the scenes had a fantasy-like feel to them which I think is another reason why Pyar Ke Sadqay is different from other dramas with similar characters.

Mahjabeen and Abdullah

Tonight’s episode opened with Mahjabeen putting her foot down and making sure that she gets her money back from Hammad and his mother. Mahjabeen is more confident than ever now, with her ‘hero’ by her side. This confrontation was hilarious. Mahjabeen’s fixation and love for Abdullah because he knows all the ‘paharay’ continues to be both hilarious and sweet. Also, while Mahjabeen confronted her ‘friend’ for betraying her, she also was genuinely thankful to her since she has been constantly thankful for not ending up with Dr. Hammad. Later on, she even asked her friend to make a video and upload it on Facebook. Just like always, Mahjabeen’s mood changed within minutes. One minute she was angry and the other minute she had found something to be excited about! She is like a little child who finds happiness in little things and forgives easily. Mahjabeen is sensitive, emotional, expressive, innocent and extremely forgiving. As someone who personally knows a few beautiful people like Mahjabeen, I just cannot praise Yumna Zaidi enough for doing complete justice to this role. She breathed life into every single scene tonight and made it worthwhile.

pyar ke sadqay3 1

It was upsetting watching Mahjabeen’s father slap her. He has been through a lot in the past few days and I felt that he was simply taking out his anger on Mahjabeen. Also, he wanted to make sure that she ‘behaved herself”. I couldn’t help but wonder that why couldn’t he see that his chote sahab was just as bhola as Mahjabeen. This slap however probably made Abdullah feel for and relate to Mahjabeen’s situation more than ever. He has also been constantly put down by his father and everyone in college for being an ‘idiot’. I like all these scenes in which Abdullah is shown realizing that he actually has someone in his life who needs him and who perhaps is in some situations more vulnerable than him. It won’t be wrong to say that this is indeed a match made in heaven. Without Sarwar in the picture, Abdullah and Mahjabeen could have been happy together.

The scene in the car when they are driving back home was hilarious. The way Mahjabeen explained why she was crying and later on forgot all about it was extremely cute. Abdullah seems more mature when he is around Mahjabeen. He obviously went to a much better school and his upbringing has made a lot of difference. When he is around his college mates or other people, he does not have the same confidence which he has around Mahjabeen. His sister was absolutely right about him when she said that he was already more confident than before. Both Mahjabeen and Abdullah have been trying to find a place where they can fit in. All their lives, they did not make any friends and were constantly told that they were not good enough. So far, they have both been there for each other in more ways than one. Without knowing they give each other the love and support which no one ever gave them. I absolutely love the way Bilal Abbas Khan looks in this drama and he has been acting superbly too. The stuttering, body language, and dialogue delivery have been exceptional. I think this is one of the best roles he has played in recent times.

pyar ke sadqay1 2

Enter Sarwar

Sarwar found out tonight that Abdullah had married Mahjabeen. He was already upset because he couldn’t marry Mahjabeen, therefore, knowing that it was his ‘stupid’ step-son who got married to her made him even angrier. This entire development was covered so well and it was quite evident what his intentions were. Mahjabeen, in her innocence, said something which basically made Sarwar realize that it was really easy for him to take advantage of Mahjabeen’s innocence while they were living in the same house. Abdullah’s mother did what she has been doing for all these weeks. Her character continues to be that of a weak woman who cannot let go of an abusive husband. Although she loves her son but she lets Sarwar toxicity impact Abdullah’s life perhaps more than hers.
It was really cute the way Abdullah was angry at Mahjabeen because he was scared that his dad might hit her the next time she tries to interact with him. Also, he told her to ignore it if he hit her, something which sadly he had been asked to do over the years.

Favorite Scenes

These scenes were my favorite from tonight’s episode:

Tu bol sorry bhaijaan… this was hilarious.

pyar ke sadqay 1

Those expressions!! When Abdullah said that he will never leave Mahjabeen, he had no idea what he had just done for her. Loved it!

pyar ke sadqay1 1

Aap ne konsa mujhe gol gol wali kursi pe bitha kr afsar bana dena tha … another cute scene which I loved! I agree with Mahjabeen, aba has been really unfair.

Final Remarks

Tonight’s episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay was a complete package just like the previous two episodes in particular. The witty dialogues, fun yet emotional scenes and superb performances by all the actors made it an entertaining episode. Bilal Abbas Khan and Yumna Zaidi have to be my favorite jodi this year, so far. They are an unconventional on-screen couple and they have totally won me over. I also like the fact that Pyar Ke Sadqay does not have a lot of tracks and the story focuses more on the leading characters. These characters are flawed yet appealing, that is what makes them different. I find myself completely involved in Mahjabeen and Abdullah’s story.

The preview of the next episode was upsetting. Who is going to protect Mahjabeen from Sarwar? I hope the story does not take a dark turn from here on.

Did you watch tonight’s episode of Pyar Ke Sadqay? Do share your thoughts about it and I would love to know which scenes were your favorite.
