Mohammad Ehtehshamuddin is having a blast directing Dum Mastam

Cameras recently rolled for the Imran Ashraf and Amar Khan starrer Dum Mastam. As much as we’re looking forward to the film, we’re having a fun time enjoying the BTS shots that are coming from the film’s sets.

Recently, producer Adnan Siddiqui shared a fun video from the sets of Dum Mastam that showed the director and choreographer Mohammad Ehtehshamuddin and Nigah Jee having a blast from the sets of the film.

Mohammad Ehtehshamuddin is seen grooving to “And I Say” by Nicholas Jaar joined by Nigah Jee only to show that he’s got some real moves going on.

Mohabbat.pk Last Episode Review – Short & Sweet!

Ohkay so, this episode marked the end of Mohabbat.pk. If there’s one term that can describe this drama, it would be ‘short & sweet’. In my opinion it ended a bit too quickly, like I could totally see another 3 episodes of this drama because of the comedy it provided, like after ages we were getting to see such type of comedy which had a meaning & a proper relation to the daily lives of regular people, but never-mind, all good things must come to an end, however I thank the entire team of Mohabbat.pk for bringing us a comedy that we haven’t witnessed in a long long time!

So, finally everyone got to know that Dada Jee made the most of the missing clause from the Nikkah nama to make sure no one can ever tell them to move out from this place. At first Nazim tried to make things right but when he felt that he was being cheated upon, he decided that he wasn’t going to get bothered about Zoha anymore & he would tell Kazim to divorce her. The way Kazim was being brainfed about the American dream by his parents was hilarious, Nazim & his wife Razia actually believed that if Kazim will go to America, he will solve all of their issues but then they had no idea that Twinkle had no intention of taking Kazim with him because she herself couldn’t go back to America.

Mohabbat.pk Last Episode Review - Short & Sweet!

Well, Munni & Sikandar met a very cute ending, after finding out that Qabza Group wasn’t going anywhere, Munni decided to go back to her in laws with a plan that she would win Sikandar’s parents over to secure their place in their home. Sikandar who obviously was too smitten by his wife had to follow her lead because he wasn’t someone who believed in thinking things through, so just like how he followed Munni to her parent’s home, he decided to move back in with his own parents as well on Munni’s suggestion. I think it was a sweet message that was conveyed that one could always fix things by resorting to the idea of togetherness & love, that is why Munni decided that she should give due respect to Sikandar’s parents, even though she had an ulterior motive but still, her plan wasn’t going to hurt her or anybody!

So, Kazim decided to get the video footage from Zoha’s laptop/mobile so that he could proceed with the divorce but even before he could do that, he himself fell in love with her because of the way Zoha treated him. Again, it was suggested that just because Zoha chose the way that Kazim wasn’t expecting, she floored him. Kazim for the first time actually felt attracted towards Zoha because he could see that she was genuinely a nice person, which again was an act that Zoha put to get to her goal, lol. Like Dada Jee always said ‘ye larki bohat aggay jayegi’, Zoha actually proved it by throwing such a sweet curve-ball at Kazim that even he couldn’t read it properly. Well, the way Kazim’s mannerisms & body language changed after that sweet encounter was amusing, it was funny how he started maintaining a distance from Twinkle & kept on making excuses so that he didn’t have to spend time with her because now he was purely focused on Zoha.

Mohabbat.pk Last Episode Review - Short & Sweet!

Nazim & Razia would’ve convinced a soft-hearted guy like Kazim but the entry of Interpol Bhai changed everything. Twinkle was basically a fugitive & with her arrest, Kazim’s coast was clear & he could easily resume his relationship with Zoha. A very sweet ending which came after a lot of twists & turns.

The best part of Mohabbat.pk was its characters, those unpredictable situations & then the dialogues which had so much of political wit that one couldn’t stop laughing while watching it. I loved how all the current political references were added in the dialogues to make the entire situation seem realistic & relatable because it actually worked. The note at which the drama ended was another intelligent & witty spin of the writer on the reality where Zoha was trying to paint a rosy picture of her life in front of her subscribers but then her spat with Kazim showed that her life wasn’t a fairy tale, rather it was reality driven where husband & wife have their fair shares of spats & bickering as well. I think the message that the writer conveyed through that scene was quite interesting because he showed that not everything that makes to the social media is meant to be trusted because it is an edited version of the reality & not everyone’s life is ‘that’ perfect because it is very easy to tweak with things to make them seem a certain way.

Overall, this drama was a very well-thought out effort & was brought to us in a perfect manner. I wish this entire team gets together once again to bring us another short drama, may be before Eid ul Azha or so because despite being the 1st mini drama serial, it was perfect in every respect. The acting, the writing, the direction, the dialogues, everything just hit the right spot. All the actors, Saife Hassan, Manzoor Qureshi, Sara Khan, Hassan Noman, Beenish Raja, Agha Mustafa Hassan, Anum Khalid, Farah Shah & the actors playing the roles of Ehtasham & Twinkle did a great job. Qabza Group definitely stood out a bit more because their characters were twisted & quirky so the way Sara Khan, Saife Hassan & Manzoor Qureshi portrayed such complexed characters with such difficult dialogues so effortlessly really conveyed the comedy which the creators of the project were after. It was amazing how each & every single character contributed towards the story & had one thing or the other to offer. The writer Mustafa Afridi deserves a special mention for such perfect dialogues because that’s where the comedy lies in any comedy drama & he made sure to add that in abundance. The director Ehtashamuddin surely directed this drama to perfection. I am actually sad that it is over but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Please share your thoughts about this small rollercoaster ride named Mohabbat.pk.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Mohabbat.pk Episode 1-3 Review – Perfection!

Ohkay so, the production of Momina Duraid Productions, writing of Mustafa Afridi & direction of Ehtashamuddin; Mohabbat.pk is Pakistan’s first Mini Drama Serial that commenced this week & has got everyone talking but then what else can be expected when the masters of their trade get together & bring something absolutely amazing for the viewers. Mohabbat.pk can easily qualify as an intelligent piece of writing through which the writer has unveiled a lot of social norms & trends in a very comical way. The way the internet & social media has taken everyone’s life by storm is the main theme of the drama, where some people are shown exploiting it & some are shown making the most of it. All the characters are unique & have so much of personality but then that’s given when you know it’s a Mustafa Afridi script.

The characters of Mohabbat.pk are:

Dada Jee: The conspiracist & Facebook addict
Jabir: A suspended Police Inspector
Zoha: Video Drama Reviewer & a hopeless romantic
Nazim: Shareef, God-fearing homeowner, too shareef for his own disadvantage
Mrs. Nazim: The nagger & anti-social media
Kazim: An angry young man & a gullible dreamer
Munni: The damsel in distress
Sikandar: The shameless opportunist
Nagina: Amreekan Pupho
Tehmina/Twinkle: Kazim’s fiancée
Ehtashaam: Mohallay ka spy & the maker of Fake ID Hot Aliya Alone
Tobi Maguire: Spiderman & Pathan

So, the story revolves around the families of homeowner & his tenant; Nazim & Jabir. Nazim (Anum Khalid), the homeowner lives with his wife Mrs. Nazim (Farah Shah) & his son Kazim (Agha Mustafa Hassan). Their tenants who are known as ‘Qabza Group’ are Jabir (Saife Hassan), Jabir’s father (Manzoor Qureshi) & his daughter Zoha (Sara Khan).

So, things get chaotic when Mrs. Nazim & Nagina (Nazim’s sister) have a verbal spat, that’s when Nagina decides that she wouldn’t allow her daughter Twinkle to get married to Kazim. Kazim being emotionally invested in the idea of going to Amreeka after his marriage gets upset. To add more to their woes, Munni (Beenish Raja) & her husband Sikandar (Hassan Noman) come to Nazim’s place because Sikandar’s parents demand ‘pauta’ from the couple, which Nazim mistakes as ‘pauda’. Just when they are dealing with these issues, Kazim goes for rent collection but is shooed away by Jabir after he intimidates him by showing his pistol which he would use back in the day when he was a policeman. This entire pistol intimidation scenario doesn’t sit well with Mrs. Nazim but just because Nazim is too nice & too scared to say anything to Jabir Yahoodi, Mrs. Nazim tries to rile her son up to stand up for himself & sadly its brunt is strategically faced by Zoha, whereas Kazim turns into a hero for his chicken-hearted family.

Mohabbat.pk Episode 1-3 Review - Perfection!

The Qabza Group could already sense that now that Munni & Sikandar have come to live with Nazim, he could anytime tell Jabir & Co. to leave their home. Considering Jabir’s track record of not paying rent on time, Dada Jee devises a plan which would guarantee them a permanent place in Nazim’s home because he is not only an intelligent conspiracist, but he is a bit too well aware of Nazim & Co’s sharafat & masoomiyat. Dada Jee tells Zoha & Jabir to keep their friends close & their enemies closer by displaying ‘munafqat ki mohabbat’ & in this case, the enemies are Nazim & his entire family. Upon Dada Jee’s instructions, Zoha takes the birthday cake & future dated check to Kazim & then she does exactly what her grandfather tell her, which is to instigate Kazim in such a way that he does something stupid & that’s exactly what happens.

Zoha being a video reviewer has a huge fan following on her YouTube Channel & all of her social media accounts, which is something that her Dada Jee wants to put to good use, that is why he stealthily makes the video of Kazim rubbing the birthday cake on Zoha’s face & things get rolling in their favor. Kazim is blackmailed by Zoha because more than living in his place, she wants a place in his heart as she loves him whereas her Dada Jee & father blackmail him for different reasons. Nazim tries to settle things down but just because he is simple & not too tactful, he falls prey to their trap & decides that Kazim will get married to Zoha while completely ignoring the fact that they not only intimidated his son but also blackmailed him using video as an evidence.

I loved how everything was linked & how one thing lead to another. I feel he has to be the coolest Dada we’ve seen in ages because I love the way he supports Zoha & her one-sided love whether it is for Pathan Spiderman or it is for Kazim. It was quite interesting to see Dada Jee being so tech savvy that he actually understood the power of social media & just because he knew that his granddaughter has made a name for herself, he decided to put it to good use. I enjoyed seeing Jabir & his antics too, just because he is suspended & can not afford to pay rent on time, he takes part in this blackmailing as well because he doesn’t mind living in Nazim’s house for free.

Mohabbat.pk Episode 1-3 Review - Perfection!

Nazim & his entire family sees Jabir as a Yahoodi who has taken over their territory exactly how Israel has taken over Palestine. Nazim’s family I feel is too shareef for their own disadvantage because even though they have all the right to give Jabir a notice, they in fact fall prey to their blackmailing. Nazim himself being too righteous feels that Kazim is at fault for insulting Zoha so badly & every time he & Sikandar bring out the issue of shooing Jabir & Co. away, they are stopped by Nazim himself as he is too lenient.

Zoha finally comes clean & tells Jabir & Dada Jee that she likes Kazim & just because Dada has got nothing else to do, he takes it another mission which he has to accomplish, which is to get his granddaughter the love of her life. Dada tells Zoha to spread the news of her engagement on social media so that later Nazim & Kazim can not back out. Dada also tells Jabir to spread the news throughout the lane so that everyone knows that Zoha is now engaged to Kazim. Things get a bit more interesting when Retired but the Dutiful Local Spy Ehtashaam tells Jabir that Kazim has a lose character & he is not suitable for Zoha. As usual, emotions get the better of Jabir & he physically assaults Kazim. I am sure that in stead of admitting their own mistakes, Dada Jee will now come up with another plan to make sure that Nazim doesn’t bat a lid on what Jabir did but in stead gets so engulfed in his own guilt that he forces Kazim to get married to Zoha by hook or by crook!

Mohabbat.pk Episode 1-3 Review - Perfection!

I must say, no one does justice to comedy like Mustafa Afridi. The way the writer has given so many flavors to this drama makes it a treat to watch. What I thoroughly enjoyed the most was seeing how Mustafa Afridi maintained a balance & gave us all sorts of characters, where we have Facebook/Social Media addicts like Dada Jee & Zoha, we also have Kazim who doesn’t even have a Facebook account. Where we have a very intelligent Dada Jee who keeps himself up to date with the International news, we have Nazim who is a laid-back drama buff. Where we have Zoha a hopeless romantic, we have Kazim who is a bit more practically in love with Twinkle because she is his ticket to America. We have Mrs. Kazim who sees Internet as the mother of all evils but then she is surrounded by people who are making the most of it to blackmail her entire family. We have Jabir who is sane but then even he gives in to his father’s conspiracies as far as they guarantee him some relief. We have Munni who is unhappy & contemplates about life but we then have Sikandar who is totally relaxed & cool with whatever course his life is taking & is not at all bothered to take control of the situation. As much as Kazim tries to take charge of the situation & wants to do things, we have his contrast in the form of Sikandar.

I must say while watching all the episodes & second episode especially, I couldn’t stop laughing as everything was just perfect, perfect dialogues, perfect timing, perfect writing, perfect direction & perfect acting. This drama might be short but it surely is sweet & has so much going on for it that you just can not keep track of time. The way the writer added the humor by touching the subjects of politics, Pakistani entertainment news, social media sensations throughout these episodes made me feel connected to everything in a very unique way. I even enjoyed the reviews of Yeh Raha Dil & Sang e Marmar, because I have reviewed both these dramas myself, so I enjoyed Zoha’s take on them quite a lot. References of Taher Shah’s Eye 2 Eye, Sahir Lodhi’s dialogue baazi ‘Are you God, are you Demi-God’, the constant mention of Israel/Palestine & America were a few gems that made me laugh out loud. It takes a lot of effort to convey comedy in such a convincing manner while still shedding a light on the issues that people might be faced with & I must say the team of Mohabbat.pk has achieved it phenomenally.

Also, a little news for the readers of Reviewit.pk, Saife Hassan was kind enough to let us; the team of Reviewit.pk know that he is the one who named this drama & he titled it Mohabbat.pk after Reviewit.pk. Also, the character of Zoha is inspired by us; the drama reviewers. :) It really means a lot to us because they have not only acknowledged the drama reviewers but our entire website, which is something huge. :) I remember watching a scene or two of Mohabbat.pk while reviewing Yakeen Ka Safar the other day & in that scene Zoha was reviewing Yeh Raha Dil, so I kind of felt happy that they are showing a character who is a drama reviewer, like I immediately related it to myself & after that we got to know that Reviewit.pk & its reviewers were the inspiration for them. As much as I loved Zoha’s Drama-Reviewer character, as much as I enjoyed seeing how enthusiastically she was voicing her opinions regarding the wrongs (according to her) that were shown in our dramas & as much as I laughed at seeing how casually she was into blackmailing, I must say the drama reviewers of Reviewit.pk are completely different from her haha! ;)

I must say all the actors who have performed in Mohabbat.pk have such a perfect comic timing because it is a pre-requisite to make any comedy work. Manzoor Qureshi, Saife Hassan, Farah Shah, Sara Khan & Hassan Noman deserve a special mention here because of the flawless portrayal of their characters. We all are by now well aware of Mustafa Afridi’s wit so the moment I knew he is the writer, I knew I was in for a ride. Ehtashaamuddin deserves full marks for directing this drama to perfection like everything about this drama is just perfect. I can’t wait for next set of episodes already as the precap suggested a lot more blackmailing, comedy & drama. Please share your thoughts about the first three episodes of Mohabbat.pk.

Mohabbat.pk Episode 05 Review – Live Nikkah Mubarak!

Ohkay so, this was yet another interesting episode of Mohabbat.pk. I must say the wit & the intelligence that the Qabza group has in this drama is basically a depiction of the wit & the intelligence of Mustafa Afridi as a writer. I was actually interested to see how things will roll but the way everything was unfolded surprised me because none of it was something that I could see coming. I love how the Qabza Group is making the most of every single opportunity that comes their way to make sure they get what they want, which is Nazim’s house.

So, this time around, it was Nazim who went ham on his family & did everything to blackmail them. Kazim definitely takes it after his father because despite not wanting to, he ended up succumbing to the pressures & said yes to his Nikkah with Zoha. It was amusing how at first Nazim only showed that he was trying to convince Kazim but the moment he said yes, Nazim put forth another agenda, which was that he had to get married to Zoha the same day. In the middle of this chaos, the one who did the best job was Sikandar, because he himself had no idea who he should be siding with, so he tried to stay neutral by supporting both Nazim & Mrs. Nazim.

I must say Ehtashaam is a jack of all trades but he is definitely a master of none because even though he was taking care of the formalities & documentation of Nikkah, he forgot one of the most important aspects of it which was Haq Meher. Zoha finally got Nikkaofied that too after she conducted an online poll whether she should say yes or no. Zoha definitely gives her fans a lot of edge & she has made them such an important part of her life that she even said yes to her Nikkah when the majority of the votes were in its favor, lol!

Just when I was wondering what was going to happen next, Dada Jee took me by surprise when he decided to make the most of the missing clause from Nikkah, which was the official mention of Haq Meher. Even though it was devilishly intelligent of Dada Jee that he decided to turn it into an opportunity which will guarantee his permanent stay in this place, but what I found far more interesting was how he subtly blackmailed Ehtasham to write whatever Dada Jee wanted by saying that he actually kept his biggest mistake as a secret because he didn’t want people to think that he was an incompetent Nikkah-khuwan, lol!

So, Zoha wants to get done with her Rukhsati but Dada Jee insists that it is Kazim who should get Rukhsat from his home & come to live with them as he knows that if Zoha will leave this place, no one will allow him & Jabir to live there too. Jabir’s stance in this entire situation turned him into a villain which Zoha by the way linked to Zubiya & Khalil’s situation in Yakeen Ka Safar. It left me wondering if it was a coincidence that Zoha was reviewing all those dramas that I have reviewed till date? LOL! Poor Jabir had no idea that under the influence of Dada Jee, Zoha herself has turned into a blackmailer, that is why he gave up & told her that everything that he said meant nothing actually!

Well, Twinkle came to Pakistan but at the wrong time, wrong in a sense that she was a bit late & couldn’t save Kazim. I wish they had limited the usage of the word ‘Talaq’ because even though it is a comedy drama & everything was being said & conveyed in jest, the fact still remains that some of the characters were rooting for this divorce. I am sure Twinkle has no idea who she is dealing with – Dada Jee will make sure that he sends her off to Amreeka!

I had a great time watching this episode of Mohabbat.pk too. I am loving the acting of all the actors. I am actually looking forward to the next episode because Kazim will speak about Haq Meher too but when he will try to use it in his favor, he will get to know that Dada Jee is far more cunning than he could ever imagine! Please share your thoughts about this episode of Mohababt.pk

Gem of this episode:

‘Jo kaum Trump ko saddar bana sakti hai, to mere Kazim ko kyu nahi bana sakti’.

Mohabbat.pk Episode 04 Review – Blackmailing of Another Level!

Ohkay so, as expected, this episode of Mohabbat.pk was hilarious too, I love how the situations are unfolding & getting interlinked where everyone is facing the brunt of one thing or the other. I love the fact that every single character has to offer something & is contributing in such a way that it makes them an important part of the story. This episode was nothing short of perfection & I had a great time watching it, almost such a great time that at one point I had to pause the episode so that I could get over with the laughter fit.

I love the fact that Sabir Dada Jee is so bezati proof, like Kazim kept on insulting Dada for running Kazim Killer account but he didn’t budge, as if he wasn’t doing anything wrong, in fact Dada made sure to remind Kazim of the video that he had in order to keep him from spilling the beans about who the owner of Kazim Killer account is. I find it extremely amusing that everyone keeps on giving Dada Jee a reference of his age while expecting him to act on it but they have no idea that Dada has such a colorful personality that he doesn’t feel like acting his age. When Kazim spoke about Dada’s adolescence & he started reminiscing about it, even I was wondering what he must’ve done back in those days, since he is still so khatarnaak & rangeen-mizaaj.

Mohabbat.pk Episode 04 Review - Blackmailing of Another Level!

So, as usual another plan was devised by the Qabza Group to make the most of Nazim’s innocence & naivety. Dada knows that Nazim is the only one who can be played upon, so he made sure to let Zoha & Jabir know what their next plan of action would be, which will be all about pressurizing Nazim to such an extent that despite wanting to he won’t be able to back off from his word. I think it is commendable that even though Dada knows that Mrs. Nazim, Kazim, Munni & Sikandar are not in the favor of this proposal, he is still doing everything to assure that Zoha gets married to Kazim, like I love the fact how dheet this Qabza Group is.

So, finally came the moment when Nazim was blackmailed by his family & was told to back out from his word & even though Nazim tried, he had no idea what he was going to get into. I loved how ham the entire Qabza Group went in front of Nazim to make him familiar with the direness of the situation. I loved how Nazim was feeling each & every single emotion that the Qabza Group was overdoing it in front of him, like he is so simpleminded that he couldn’t even realize that they were just trying to guilt-trip him. I love how every single time they bring in Zoha’s fan following into the picture, I must say she is quite famous & that obviously means something to Nazim too because he wouldn’t want his family to face the brunt of Zoha’s fans.

Mohabbat.pk Episode 04 Review - Blackmailing of Another Level!

It was quite interesting to see how Kazim Killer account once again changed the entire story, like even though Nazim didn’t say a word & walked out of Jabir’s home, when he met Ehtasham & got to know about Kazim & his Killer account, he went back straight up to finalize Zoha & Kazim’s marriage because he immediately realized that his son was also guilty & didn’t have a clear conscience. Also, despite wanting to, Kazim couldn’t say a word that it is Dada Jee who runs that account because even he is scared that he might release Kazim’s videos, lol. The level of blackmailing shown in this drama is epic & what’s even more epic is the fact that Nazim & Co. is falling prey to it every single step of the way.

Even though Munni & Sikandar are not involved in this entire chaos, I love how they both have a life of their own where while still being in the middle of all this, they only think about being with each other uninterrupted. Their agenda is to get Jabir’s place so that at least Sikandar can feel at home, lol. Sikandar’s dhitai is another thing worth appreciating, it is amazing how he is so thick-skinned to not even be bothered by the way he gets mistreated by everyone. The fact that everyone has their sights on Nazim’s upper-portion is amusing because that is the reason why everyone is going to such an extreme length to get it, Jabir wants it, Sikandar & Munni want it & even Mrs. Nazim wants it back too but it ain’t going anywhere because Qabza Group is far more intelligent & cunning.

Overall, this episode was quite interesting & I had a great time watching it. I must say I love the comic timing of each & every single actor, especially the actors belonging to the Qabza Group, like they have such complex dialogues that they have to deliver so effortlessly to add that humor & they have achieved that in every single scene. Obviously, the writer here gets full marks for bringing out such a perfect & relatable comedy but the director is the one who is responsible for bringing everything to life & Ehtashamuddin has done a commendable job. I am definitely looking forward to the next episode & it feels good to know that I wouldn’t have to wait much longer as it airs tonight again! Please share your thoughts about this episode of Mohabbat.pk.

Gems of this episode:

– ‘Waisay Amman to sari zindagi mujhse kehti rahin ke mere barabar mai kutta gaarh dena lekin is admi ko daffan nahi karna’, LOL!

– ’80 pe khelte hue nervous to ho rahay honge’, hahahah!!!

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Last Episode Review – Shocking Plot Twist!

*SPOILER ALERT*

What an emotionally overpowering end to a drama serial which banked heavily on emotions and succeeded in making the viewers relate to this complicated yet appealing love story. This had to be the best ending I have seen in a long time. It was a beautiful ending which wasn’t happy but definitely poignant and put forward a powerful message ….. “Tumhei bus dikhaya hei ke jis se pyar karo us pr aitebar karo”. Unlike many other finales in which everything falls into place and everyone lives happily ever after, Khalil-ur-Rehman’s endings are just as unpredictable and meaningful as the plot of his dramas. This was also the kind of episode which keeps you hooked to your television screen right till the end. Maheen took her revenge and her attitude towards Waqar in the past few episodes made perfect sense tonight. When Maheen said “qabool hei” and it was only 8:30, I was wondering what is going to happen in the next 30 minutes and absolutely loved how the writer saved the most shocking twist for the last 15 minutes of this finale! I must say that Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar is the only writer who has the guts to pen down an ending like this one! Love the way he nails these unorthodox endings over and over again. Maheen’s letter – every single word- was the highlight of this last episode! I am going to watch this particular scene a few more times tonight!

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Last Episode Review - Shocking Plot Twist!

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei’s biggest strengths were its mind-blowing dialogues, an unpredictable storyline and most importantly the chemistry between Imran Abbas and Ayeza Khan. Ayeza Khan and Imran Abbas’ solid performances especially in the last 10 weeks or so made this drama a treat to watch. Shehzad sheikh also gave an impressive performance throughout and made the viewers fall in love with his character. Gulrez also turned out to be the real hero in the end. He proved that he was much more strong and committed than Maheen and Waqar both. Kinza Hasmi’s acting was also impressive and Haroon Kadwani is a newcomer to look out for. Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei’s complete OST is available online and I highly recommend it to everyone, it is one of the best OSTs of this year.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Last Episode Review - Shocking Plot Twist!

The biggest weakness of this drama however was the way it was directed; the slow pace, overacting by some of the actors and the ever-present annoying background score which didn’t always go well with different situations. Also, the make-up wasn’t up to the mark a lot of times. All these drawbacks made it really difficult for a lot of viewers to sit through this drama for many weeks and were the reasons why many viewers stopped watching this drama altogether. It was however one of those very few dramas which eventually take off and the last 10 episodes or so were extremely enticing and powerful. This drama could have been thoroughly entertaining and even more powerful if everything was covered in 20 episodes and all that stretching which made the viewers give up on it was chopped down altogether.

Overall, even with all its flaws watching this drama and reviewing it was a pleasure; something I looked forward to enjoyed doing. A big shout out to all those people who put their heart and soul into this project. A big thank you to all those wonderful readers who read the reviews every week and contributed to the discussions, it wouldn’t have been the same without you all. Keep reading and commenting. Looking forward to Shayad the most right now!

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Episode 28 Review – Intriguing!

This second last episode of Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei promised a happy ending but the ending cannot possibly be as simple as it seems at the moment. Waqar and Maheen’s conversations in this recent episode clearly suggested that Maheen wanted Waqar to pay for the way he made her suffer for all these years. Everything that she said to him suggested that although she was going ahead with this marriage but she had not forgiven or forgotten what he had done. Maheen and Gulrez’s conversation in this episode showed that Gulrez always knew that Waqar will come back at some point and he wanted Maheen to go back to him. Maheen however in a way blamed Waqar for Gulrez’s death perhaps because she could never love him the way she loved Waqar or the way he deserved to be loved. Waqar told Maheen over and over again that he was willing to do whatever it took to make up for everything he had done in the past and not once did Maheen tell him that they should put the past behind them.

Ami begum’s change of heart was easy to relate to since it has been well established so far that she loves Waqar despite of every bitter thing she has ever said about him. Even though she didn’t even want him around few hours back, the thought of never seeing him again changed everything. Her decision to get him married to Maheen however was rather sudden but definitely not surprising. Neelam’s reaction to the proposal yet again showed that she still felt that Maheen belonged to Gulrez. Maheen’s conversations with Gulrez however suggested something entirely different. It remains to be seen why exactly was Maheen waiting for Waqar for all these years. Although Waqar’s mistake isn’t easy to forgive but even then I would have liked it if somehow he was forgiven. However, I feel that the writer has a twist in store for the viewers.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Episode 28 Review - Intriguing!

The writer hasn’t rushed the ending, which is definitely something which should be appreciated but the director slowed the pace of the drama considerably by stretching the scenes. Also, the background score of Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei has to be the worst part of this drama since it stands out like a sore thumb and is very often distracting as well as annoying. The last scene of the episode did not contribute much to the story. I was waiting to see some flashback scenes which would have shown how the relationship between Gulrez and Maheen was after marriage but somehow this scene didn’t work for me at all. Through the other scene however the writer conveyed that Gulrez wanted this to happen therefore although Neelam does not approve of this wedding but Gulrez would have approved of it.

The conversations between Maheen and Waqar were the highlight of this episode. Maheen’s reply when Waqar asked her what she wanted for the wedding was poignant and beautifully penned down. Ayeza Khan was the star of the show tonight and Imran Abbas definitely brings out the best in his character. You can’t help but root for these two but at the same time it is quite obvious that Maheen wouldn’t let Waqar off the hook so easily. The viewers can’t wait to find out what Maheen is going to do next. The preview of the next episode showed that the wedding will take place but will it reach its culmination? Can’t wait to find out!

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Episode 27 Review – The Secret Is Out!

“Ab aap bahir aa jao papa. Aap ke sur ka sara bojh utur gaya hei. Meinay apne armano ka khoon baich ke adayegi ki hei papa…..aap moj manaye, ji bhur ke gunnah kijiye, kafara dene aur qarz chukane ka waqt aye ga tu bachay chukaye gay na.” These dialogues resonated with me more than any other in this particular episode because they reflected Maheen’s frame of mind and it is true that very often the children have to pay for their parents’ mistakes. In this case however the child in question did not pay for her father’s wrongdoings because it was fate but because someone decided to take revenge. Jia’s confession and the manner in which Waqar broke the news to everyone else was definitely done really well since everyone listened to what she said first hand. The way she confessed however was rather odd because she wasn’t apologetic for her actions. For the most part also, the director failed to do justice to the script in tonight’s episode. All the scenes were written in such a manner that they added something new to the story but most of the scenes were stretched a little too much. Two more fast-paced episodes which gave the drama a decent ending would have been better than adding three episodes which will have scenes that are a strain on the nerves.

The fact that Waqar wasn’t forgiven instantly by everyone even after finding out that Jia was responsible for creating this huge misunderstanding has to be the best part of the recent developments. Most dramas would end at this point and Waqar would have been forgiven; it is good to see that everyone is not willing to give him the benefit of doubt since what he did was disastrous. Maheen’s attitude towards Waqar however has been the most surprising development. I find it impossible to believe that she has forgiven Waqar. The sudden change in Maheen does suggest however that she has either found closure or she is planning something. Right now, it is impossible to tell what is going to happen next. The credit for this also goes to Ayeza Khan who isn’t giving anything away and is letting the viewers wonder what is going on in Maheen’s mind.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Episode 27 Review - The Secret Is Out!

Ami begum’s dialogues in tonight’s episode were funny. There was a time when I found her extreme reactions annoying but now I find them hilarious! Her love-hate relationship with Waqar has grown on me. Apparently everyone knew about Aurangzeb’s history with Tehmina already therefore this particular revelation did not come as a surprise to anyone. The only shocking part was that Jia was Tehmina’s daughter.

The flawed make-up, the ever-present loud music, direction which very often tests your patience and faulty camerawork are those weaknesses of Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei which can easily put any viewers off. The story however is very well put together and at this point the story is at such a stage that these flaws in the drama won’t stop the viewers from tuning into it for the next two weeks as well. Having said that, this drama could have been a huge success had it been given the right treatment. Two more episode to go and we will finally see an ending to MTSNH which would hopefully be worth the wait. The story was going forward at a steady pace for the past few weeks but this episode was slow paced. The disclaimer in tonight’s episode was also a big distraction since it was right in the middle of the screen.

How many of you watched this recent episode? Don’t forget to share your thoughts about it.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Episode 26 Review – Mind-Blowing!

“Suna tha jis se mohabbat krte hei us ka chehra purh lete hei, us ki ankhoon ke raste us ke dil mei jhankte hei, yakeen kr lete hei, eman le atay hei. Ye nahi suna tha ke us ki diary prhte hei aur diary ko saboot ke tor pe saath le jate hei!” Tonight’s episode had the most mind-blowing dialogues to its credit, which could only have been penned down by a writer like Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar. It isn’t very often that you watch an episode which makes you wonder how much time the writer invested in writing such a brilliant story coupled with the most amazing dialogues which completely blow you away. Anyone out there who gave up on Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei few weeks back definitely needs to catch up! Although everyone’s make-up, the picture quality and the lighting wasn’t up to the mark in this episode but even then this was yet again a superb episode which had few of the most important developments to its credit. The fact that these important developments are not being dragged definitely helps, every episode takes the story forward considerably and makes you look forward to the next episode.

“Aray nahin Waqar Ahmed, tum mujhe hara ke gaye thay, shikast-e-fash hui thi mujhe. Sub ke samne mu ke bal gir pari thi mein…saans tham gaya, dil ruk gaya!” Waqar and Maheen finally met in this episode. The way Maheen welcomed Waqar was surprising and interesting as well. It showed how much Maheen had changed over the years, I was expecting another showdown and perhaps yet another thappar as well but on the contrary it seemed like Maheen had been waiting for Waqar to come back so that she could finally talk to him about the aftermath of his betrayal and perhaps also to find out why he went away. The way Maheen admitted that Waqar had defeated her was extremely touching especially because she was never the kind of person who would expect her defeat like that. This entire scene showed Maheen was a completely different person now, that angry girl who once had a big ego was more than willing to accept her defeat now. This was one of my favorite scenes from this episode. It would have been even better if Waqar also read the contents of Maheen’s actual diary, at least a few lines from which he could have figured out how she actually felt at that time.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Episode 26 Review - Mind-Blowing!

“Jahan meinay din likha, us ne raat likhi hei. Jahan meinay chup likha, wahan us ne baat likhi hei. Jahan meinay dard likha, wahan us ne dum likha hei. Jahan meinay khushi likhi, wahan us ne ghum likha hei!” The way Maheen explained the changes the writer of this diary made to twist Maheen’s thoughts around was beyond brilliant. Neelam’s question “jahan tum ne Waqar likha tha wahan us ne kya likha hei?” was also right on point! What a beautiful conversation, one of the many which were worth watching and listening to over and over again.

Another scene which was truly impressive and soul-stirring was the one in which Munshi Alam told Waqar that people who truly loved each other read faces and get their clues from there instead of reading diaries! It was only after this that Waqar sat down to think about how Maheen stopped him and how happy she was when they were getting married. Ultimately he figured out who the real culprit was! Jia and Waqar’s meeting is definitely one I am looking forward to impatiently. Jia’s father will also reveal the truth and there is so much more that needs to be covered after this. I guess there will be two more episodes of this drama. I am looking forward to a perfect ending because right now everything is so flawless.

Ayeza Khan and Imran Abbas stole the show tonight; their exceptional performances elevated the overall impact of these latest developments. Their scenes together were extremely emotional. Both these actors have done complete justice to their respective roles right from the get-go.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Episode 25 Review – Must-Watch!

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei nowadays is the kind of drama you wait for the entire week and every new episode makes you look forward to the next one. I don’t ever remember watching a drama I completely gave up on and ended up looking forward to so eagerly in the last few weeks! The story has taken such a turn that every episode reveals something new about the past and each episode has a surprise in store. Also, the fact that the writer is taking his time in revealing all the details about the past also builds up the curiosity. Right now, not only do the viewers want to find out what happened in the past after Waqar left but they also want to see what the future has in store. Imran Abbas was absolutely brilliant in tonight’s episode, he completely stole the show with his effortless portrayal of a man who in reality is clueless but thinks he knows everything. The way the scenes from the past and present were blended together gave this episode a different feel. These few episodes reminded me of the reasons why I had so many expectations from this play after watching the first episode.

This episode opened with Maheen’s reaction after she read the letter. She went from being in denial to realizing that Waqar was never coming back. Maheen’s reaction was anything but typical; she did not cry and she did not shut herself from the world. On the contrary, she was the one who told everyone what had happened. She was also the one who decided there was still something she could do to take control of the situation. Maheen has always been shown as someone who wants to be in control of things therefore when she asked Gulrez to marry her I felt like this was her way of taking over a situation which she otherwise had no control over. I felt for Gulrez tonight more than ever, although he always wanted to marry Maheen but the way this marriage took place was just plain sad. He had absolutely no say in it – no one asked him how he felt about the situation. He went ahead with the nikkah because he had no choice. Someone like Gulrez who had tons of self-respect couldn’t have been entirely satisfied with this situation. I hope we get to see how the relationship between them was after they got married and what exactly happened to Gulrez.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Episode 25 Review - Must-Watch!

The best scene of tonight’s episode was the one in which Munshi Alam told Waqar that Gulrez and Maheen ultimately got married that night. Waqar’s reaction at that time and later on when he found out that Gulrez was dead was translated on screen brilliantly. There was however a blooper in the previous episode, the diary was still on table when Waqar left. I remember looking for it especially when Gulrez picked up the letter from the bed and saw it on the writing table. I was wondering if Jia would get rid of the diary but apparently it was a blooper and the diary shouldn’t have been there. The fact that Waqar took the diary with him makes the whole situation even more interesting because he has proof now. Had Jia taken the diary with her, no one would have believed him. Also, Maheen’s bridal duppata changed by the time she went down the stairs. Apart from these minor bloopers everything else about this episode was picture perfect. The story is so enticing right now that you can easily ignore such minor flaws.

Those of you who gave up on this drama should definitely catch up because the story is more interesting now than it ever was!! There is still so much which needs to be shown therefore this drama can go on for another 4 weeks and at this point I don’t mind that at all! Right now, I am looking forward to the final showdown – when Waqar shows Ami Begum the diary and explains what happened that night.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Episode 24 Review – Loved It!

I am so glad that I didn’t give up on this play because tonight’s episode and the previous few episodes of MTSNH have kept me glued to my television screen. The story has taken a really interesting turn, with this episode the viewers were once again taken back to the present scene from where the drama started. These scenes reminded me of my first impression of this drama and I must say that with its the highs and lows, overall this has been a very interesting journey. Few weeks back if someone had told me that this drama was going to be one of those dramas I will be looking forward to most eagerly, I wouldn’t have believed them but here I am thinking how will I wait another week to find out what happened to Gulrez and when will Waqar finally mention what was written in the diary.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Episode 24 Review - Loved It!

After watching tonight’s episode, I am pretty sure that the viewers will get to see every little detail because right now every reaction and all the minor details count a lot. For example in tonight’s episode when Gulrez read the letter, the contents of the letter and his reaction was covered perfectly. Later on, the scene in which Maheen read the letter was also directed well. Waqar’s reaction was also shown convincingly. Also, right now the screenplay is such that it stirs the viewer’s curiosity. Right till the end I was waiting to find out what happened to Gulrez and that is the main reason why I am more curious than ever to find out if he is alive or not and if he died then what happened to him. I am also wondering what happened to that diary and where is Jia right now. What role she played after Waqar left? Lots of questions!

Tonight’s episode was the beginning of that part of the story which all the viewers had been waiting for and I must say that although it came late but it was completely worth the wait! It also came at a time when even those of the viewers (like me) who were finding it hard to connect to some of the characters and situations are completely into all the tracks in the story. Everyone’s performance was right on point in this episode and even those scenes which were somewhat slow were truly impactful. Ayeza Khan looked absolutely gorgeous as a bride and the entire scenario couldn’t have been covered more perfectly.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Episode 24 Review - Loved It!

One thing which made this episode a complete winner was the way everyone’s feelings were covered. The manner in which everyone went from being over the moon to down in the dumps made the entire situation even more relatable. This was the kind of episode which completely transports you to another world and you feel everything which the characters are going through. The change in Maheen and Waqar’s outlook in particular when the story was taken back to the present time was also more noticeable now than ever. Maheen looked like someone who had been through a lot and Waqar too had aged. So far, Waqar only wants to know what happened after he left because of the extreme reaction by Neelam in particular and everyone else in general but he has not yet revealed the reason why he left. Given this family’s history, the entire situation can take an about turn at any given moment therefore I am pretty sure that these last few episodes will keep the viewers at the edge of their seats!

This had to be one of my favorite episodes of MTSNH. It has some amazing dialogues to its credit and I love the way Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has penned this story down. This is yet another love story written by him which is anything but clichéd. How many of you watched this episode? Do share your thoughts about it.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Episode 23 Review – Intriguing!

Tonight’s episode of Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei was somewhat slow but it had some significant developments to its credit nonetheless. This latest episode laid the foundations for one of the most important twists in the story which will be seen in the next episode and which will change everything altogether. Tonight’s episode was also important because it altered the dynamics of Waqar and Maheen’s relationship with each other. There were some scenes which could have been chopped down and the background score was terribly annoying at times. Waqar and Maheen finally accepted and professed their love for each other, this was actually the moment that many of the viewers had been waiting for. I must say that there couldn’t have been a more perfect time to create this misunderstanding between these two individuals because right now otherwise it seems like nothing can wrong between them. Even Ami begum has accepted this relationship and is even happy that Waqar and Maheen are getting married. Although Gulrez is heart broken but he has proved that he is a really strong person who can put his feelings for Maheen aside and do whatever he can to let Waqar and Maheen know that he is happy for them. All the characters are at their best at the moment. Waqar and Maheen are finally head over heels in love and Jia is doing whatever she can to make sure that these two do not get their happy ending. Although Jia’s character isn’t the least bit likeable but without her this story wouldn’t have been as interesting as it is.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Episode 23 Review - Intriguing!

Neelam’s scenes were used effectively to show how sure Gulrez was that Maheen was the one he was going to get married to. However, the fact that this bachpan ki mangni bit was completely missing from the first few episodes since Maheen was shocked to hear that she was getting married to Gulrez therefore it is definitely difficult even now to connect to this part of the story. While one feels for Gulrez, you can’t help but root for Maheen and Waqar since they love each other. It is also good to see them acknowledging the sacrifice Gulrez is making in different ways. I am glad that Gulrez’s character has not been relegated to the background in fact his character now is being given more screen time than before and his feelings are being highlighted. This is the reason why the viewers right now are equally interested in finding out why Neelam was standing in front of Gulrez’s picture and crying in the beginning of the drama. While Waqar and Maheen’s track seems predictable right now, it is difficult to predict what will happen to Gulrez once Waqar disappears on his wedding day. Gulrez was actually wearing a sherwani in the preview of the next episode!

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Episode 23 Review - Intriguing!

The conversation about the thappar on the breakfast table was one such discussion which could have been chopped down or even if it wasn’t part of this episode, it wouldn’t have been missed! The conversation between Jia and Maheen showed how hard Jia was trying to remind Maheen how much she hated Waqar. It also reflected Jia’s feelings when Maheen was so willing to forgive Waqar and she admitted that she loved him! Jia’s father is completely out of the picture right now and I wonder if he will make an appearance again since besides Jia, he is the only one who knows what happened in the past.

The weakest link of this drama so far is the way it has been directed, other than that the story is getting more interesting and the drama is headed towards an ending which, it seems like, was worth waiting for. I am eagerly looking forward to the next episode and I also wish that Geo would keep its previews for the upcoming episodes short and sweet! The preview of the upcoming episode did not leave a lot to the viewers’ imagination unless the next episode has some surprise in store for the viewers! The youngsters in this drama are definitely giving more solid performances than the older members of the cast. Ayeza Khan, Imran Abbas, Shehzad sheikh and Kinza Hashmi gave impressive performances in this episode and have done complete justice to their characters throughout.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Episode 22 Review – Good One!

This drama has finally picked up pace and it seems like the viewers will probably get to see few interesting and happening episodes as the drama is headed towards a climax worth looking forward to. There are still a lot of questions which need to be answered and it is impossible to predict how the drama will end since there is still a chance that Waqar can explain to everyone what actually happened. This will however open a new Pandora box but it will turn things around for Waqar and Maheen in particular.

The opening scene of tonight’s episode showed Neelam breaking the news of Waqar and Maheen’s marriage to Gulrez. Although Gulrez’s initial reaction was that of shock but later on he proved that he was much more brave than everyone else around him. There was a time when I did not feel anything for Gulrez but watching him support Waqar and Maheen like that was heart-rending. Watching Waqar and Maheen having a normal conversation for a change was the highlight of tonight’s episode. This was the first time that these two did not argue with one another but actually talked about things which mattered. Imran Abbas and Ayeza Khan’s on-screen chemistry and the way these scenes were shot was perfect. Both these actors looked great and acted superbly too. It was also good to watch them discussing Gulrez.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Episode 22 Review - Good One!

Ami Begum played a major role in making Waqar confess his love for Maheen. If it weren’t for her, this marriage wouldn’t be taking place at this point. I have to say that Ami Begum redeemed herself tonight and I have forgiven her for every silly game she played in the previous few episodes. The second scene of this episode looked like an extension of the scene that was shown in the 2nd episode in which these gang members took Gulrez’s car away. Ali made an appearance after a long time tonight and I have to say I missed his character. Even though he does not have a big role to play in the story but he was introduced as an important character therefore I feel he should have been part of every other episode if not all the episodes.

Jia is all set to take revenge from Aurangzeb and the preview of the next episode suggested that Maheen’s declaration of love for Waqar will prove to be the reason why she finally goes ahead with her plan. Jia has always been shown as a negative person therefore it never came as a surprise that she planned something like this. It is however difficult to understand why no one ever suspected her since she can be very transparent at times. Jia’s father is completely out of the picture for now which basically goes to show that there are too many characters in the play but the screen time has not been distributed properly among all of them.

Overall, this was an interesting episode of Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei which gave me a reason to look forward to what this show has in store for us in the coming weeks. I hope things continue to move forward with the same pace right till the end.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Episode 21 Review – Must-Watch!

This had to be one of the best episodes of MTSNH so far; the story moved forward at a rapid pace and all these developments were unexpected. Ami begum’s realization and Gulrez’s wisdom came as a complete surprise and for the first time these two characters had to be the best part of an entire episode. Ami Begum’s scenes were funny as well (and this time in a good way!). The way she asked her daughter to reassure her that she wasn’t such a bad person and later on her use of English language was hilarious! It was great watching her realize her mistake and making a decision which was going to hurt Gulrez but which was definitely better than the one she had taken before. Saman Ansari has always played an important role in all the dramas she has ever been part of therefore it was also a pleasant surprise watching Mehrunissa’s character which seemed unimportant few weeks back, playing a major role in making Ami Begum’s reflect upon her behaviour and actions.

Gulrez and Maheen’s conversation was the highlight of tonight’s episode mainly because of the fact that Gulrez turned out to be much more wise than everyone gave him credit for. Gulrez has always been shown as a sensitive person therefore watching him take such a bold step which was surely going to break his heart was very touching. Also, watching Maheen believing what he said instantly was a refreshing change since Maheen usually does not get convinced so easily. Ayeza Khan was phenomenal in this particular scene, the change in her expressions when Gulrez told her the reason why Waqar was all of a sudden saying something entirely different made this scene more impactful. Gulrez’s suggestion that Maheen’s baraat should go on his foxy was another brilliant addition to this scene. This was the most important scene because it had a major development to its credit and it was handled faultlessly.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Episode 21 Review - Must-Watch!

Jia is investing all her time and energy into taking revenge from Maheen for what her father did. She managed to make Waqar think that Maheen might be playing games with him. Before his conversation with Jia, he was fully convinced that Maheen loved her. Jia has done all her homework and now when she shows Waqar the diary he will walk away from this marriage and I guess it is easy to tell now why everyone hated him so much. It still remains to be seen what happened to Gulrez. Will he die in an accident too just like his parents?

For the first time I enjoyed watching all the mind games which the characters played with one another because they are headed towards a definite direction. This episode also had some impressive dialogues which explained Ami Begum and Gulrez’s state of mind in particular. Although the story can pretty much be summed up as kon bane ga Maheen ka shauhar but even then the intricate relationship of all these characters with each other and also the fact that the drama is headed towards an interesting finale makes it a must-watch at this point at least. There are dramas which get slow towards the end and test your patience and then there are those like Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei which test your patience for weeks but get really interesting towards the end!! Looking forward to the next episode because the promo looked enticing!

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Episode 20 Review – A Sacrifice & Another Misunderstanding

Waqar and Maheen’s track has been going around in circles for many weeks now and the only time these two characters come face to face is when Maheen wants to confront Waqar. Tonight, Waqar decided to do exactly what he promised Neelam he would do and Maheen fell for his lie immediately. However I don’t really understand when Waqar flirted with Maheen? He was leaving for England and Maheen stopped him, did I miss something? Having said that, I must add that the fact that these two have never really shared their feelings with each other made this entire development convincing. The lack of communication is the main reason why it was so easy for Waqar to fool Maheen. Also, Maheen has a big ego therefore she will never question Waqar’s action. Am I the only one who finds Ami Begum’s exaggerated reactions to everything around her funny now? Like every other episode, I felt for Waqar more than anyone else. I am glad though that for once Ami begum did not misunderstand him. She knows that he is lying but even then, that thappar was totally uncalled for!! Ami’s begum is a wise woman whose intentions are at times right but her actions most often are so wrong and off-putting!

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Episode 20 Review - A Sacrifice & Another Misunderstanding

Fajr’s role in Maheen and Waqar’s track in this episode was difficult to relate to since she has always been shown as someone who takes wise decisions. She knows just how impulsive Maheen is and what frame of mind Waqar was in but even then she went and told Maheen everything. Ali and Wali were getting plenty of screen time in the first 13 episodes or so but all of a sudden, they are completely out of the picture. Wali’s character in particular was always highlighted as an important one yet he is nowhere to be found now!

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Episode 20 Review - A Sacrifice & Another Misunderstanding

For the first time Jia and Maheen had a serious conversation about Jia’s personal life. The viewers never knew that Jia had shared these details with Maheen because their conversations usually revolve around Waqar. These conversations should have been shown; Jia’s sentiments and Maheen’s reactions to them would have been interesting to watch. This way, the viewers could have seen the difference between the two. Tonight, when Jia told Maheen what her plan was, Maheen could not relate to Jia’s frame of mind. Right from the beginning Jia has been shown as someone who has a lot of pent up anger therefore the negativity with which she is dealing with the situation is completely in line with her character. It was rather odd watching so many characters dressed to impress in the middle of the night especially Maheen’s mother, Ami begum and Fajr. It is good to see Mehrunissa’s character shaping up to be one of the most sensible characters in the play. Saman Ansari has always chosen to play significant roles which surprise you especially towards the end and she always excels in them.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei Episode 20 Review - A Sacrifice & Another Misunderstanding

The story is moving forward gradually and it’s about time that it came to an end since we have seen Waqar admitting he loves Maheen and then denying it not once but twice now. The preview of the next episode showed Ami begum reflecting on her actions and Maheen promising Gulrez that her barat will go on his foxy! I am definitely waiting to find out how the drama ends because there is still a possibility that Maheen and Waqar might end up together. I also want to know what happens to Gulrez in the end since the first episode suggested that his track ended tragically. I still think that this drama could have been a lot more entertaining if the director executed it differently.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai Episode 9 Review – Overcrowded & Vague

Sitting through tonight’s episode was nothing short of a challenge not only because of the timing but also because the director apparently took this script a little too seriously!! Even in situations which are completely comical, the scenes are shot in such detail that everything you see is more staged than anything else. There are always people in the background either nodding their heads or laughing in these situations and the focus is never on the main subject. The backgrounds are being highlighted more than necessary and the ever-present music does not help either. Ami begum’s fake heart attack was interesting but the way everyone gathered around her and the focus on everyone’s body language and expressions gave a really strange feel to the whole scenario like they were a bunch of children getting excited over nothing. Later on when Ami Begum wanted everyone to boycott Waqar Ahmed, everyone was so involved in that situation too. I never thought I would say this about a drama but I feel that all the scenes in this drama are too overcrowded and overstated. There are so many people in this household but the story is revolving around only 2 characters (Maheen and Waqar) in particular and generally around four (Ami begum, Gulrez, Waqar and Maheen) of them. All the other family members do not even have definite characters and definitely no stories of their own! Even tonight, there were some scenes which were amusing but overall, there are so many glaring flaws in the execution of the script in particular that even the minor flaws in the script are very noticeable.

Finally somebody decided to talk to Maheen about Gulrez’s proposal. An entire episode was dedicated to Maheen’s reaction to the proposal and the possible outcome but later on it was almost as if everyone around Maheen forgot all about it! The perfume and book simile was one of the many forced dialogues in this drama which count as added philosophical discussions that are definitely not needed!! The message could have been conveyed in a much better manner without comparing Gulrez to a book (which is obviously a thing!). I felt like Neelam was belittling her brother (although she was not doing that of course) by comparing him to a commodity like that, it was certainly in bad taste. Also, I don’t understand why every character in this drama is bent on being philosophical even when certain scenarios can easily be covered without delving into details which are usually out of context!

Since many of the wonderful actors in this drama, who do not even need to prove that they are good at what they do, have given some very exaggerated performances, therefore one can safely conclude that the director ordered them to give these expressions which are anything but subtle! Maheen was cute for a while but her character doesn’t have a lot to offer. Like many of the other characters in the play, it is somewhat vague. She is gradually falling in love with Waqar and she cannot see him getting married to Jia, she is headstrong and bubbly but that’s about it! The character isn’t appealing enough and unfortunately Ayeza Khan’s performance looks a lot like acting! Like I said, I completely hold the director responsible for this because even someone like Saman Ansari is acting very artificial in this drama. Haroon Kadwani and Kinza Hashmi are making the most of the roles assigned to them but the fact is that they are also being used as props in a lot of scenes.

The story moved forward slightly in this episode but the characters in this play can easily be very annoying mainly because of the way they have been translated on screen. Maheen and Waqar’s track has potential but the overall execution of this play is so weak that I seriously doubt that the director or the writer will exploit this potential to the fullest. The only good thing about this episode was that Jia did not get a lot of screen time, other than that the episode overall was just like any other episode of this drama – a lot of talking, very little action, too many emotions, not enough content or depth!

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai Episode 8 Review – Snoozefest

It was awfully difficult sitting through tonight’s episode which once again was one-dimensional because the focus of the story yet again was entirely on who should get married to whom! So far the story lacks depth and the characters have nothing grand to offer, in fact this drama has plenty of annoying characters. This episode did not have a single impactful or even entertaining scene to its credit. Watching these characters which are so plain, talking about love and commitment like they are experts in the field definitely makes it even more difficult to connect to their characters. Maheen has not yet given an answer to Gulrez’s proposal yet Ami Begum thinks it is a good time to force Waqar into getting married to someone he clearly does not want to get married to. I definitely expected better from Ami Begum’s character. What she did today was just plain shocking and not in line with her character at all. She has been shown as a really cool nani/dadi who has given Maheen plenty of time to think about Gulrez’s proposal but wants Waqar to marry Jia because he is friends with her. She is also very sure that Waqar is in love with Jia!! This had to be the most forced development in tonight’s episode.

The conversations in Gulrez’s house are even more monotonous and repetitive than the ones in Maheen’s house. Gulrez’s state of mind, his sister’s fears and his brother in law’s role in the entire scenario has been shown clearly in the past few episodes, now this track needs to move forward. No one in Maheen’s house except for her sister has talked about the proposal again. It is strange that Ami Begum is pursuing Waqar’s relationship with Jia more passionately than Gulrez’s proposal for Maheen. Everyone invested more time in talking about why Waqar left the match than discussing what to say to Gulrez’s sister or how to make Maheen come up with a decision. I hate to see talented actors like Saman Ansari and Malik Raza being wasted playing these useless characters which are like props more than anything else.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai Episode 8 Review - Snoozefest

The lyrics of the OST of Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai are far more deep and meaningful than this drama as a whole. I hate to say this but this episode reminded me of Mann Mayal, the only difference is that back then I had more patience and stamina!! This episode proved that Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai is not likely to take off because it does not have enough substance. I definitely expected better from a writer like Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar and right now I am very tempted to tune into Zakham because even though it is simple but it is much more entertaining than this play! It is impossible to connect to any of the characters, Jia and Ami begum are turning out to be two very unreasonable people! I was shocked when Jia sent Ami begum her father’s phone number since she hates him so much. This episode once again had some of the most dull conversations and the characters are losing their charm with every passing episode. Everything about this drama is too staged, from the scenarios to the way they have been enacted on screen. All those annoying commercials promoting shows which are going to be part of Geo’s Ramazan transmission made the whole experience of watching this drama live on television even more torturous! I am beyond disappointed with Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai and have no reason to look forward to the next episode!

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai Episode 7 Review – Much Better Than Last Week

Those family ties which were a major attraction in the first few episodes were absent from the previous two episodes and the focus was entirely on Maheen, Gulrez and Waqar alone. Tonight too although there was a lot of focus on these three but this episode also had scenes in which the family was shown spending time together and doing something other than discussing why Maheen hated Waqar so much and whether she will agree to Gulrez’s proposal or not. The scene in which the family was shown playing cricket was particularly interesting. Gulrez’s batting, Waqar practicing hours before the match started and most importantly ami begum’s role throughout was very amusing. Also, most of the scenes in tonight’s episode were more in line with the overall story and unlike the previous episode there weren’t a lot of filler scenes in this one.

Jia and Maheen’s friendship and Jia’s character and track in particular has to be the most annoying part of this drama. The marjaniye dialogues are weird to say the least and the fact that Jia claims to be Maheen’s best friend but at the same time puts a guy she just met before her makes her character unappealing. Her character is like one of those desperate girls we see in dramas all the time who fall in love with a man instantly and will do anything to make them their own. She is a modern version of the character played by Yumna Zaidi in Zara Yaad Kar. So, there was no particular reason why the episode ended with Jia’s father looking at Maheen like that! Basically the important aspect was Maheen walking out of the party but the camera froze on Jia’s dad, I don’t understand the logic behind it at all! Jia’s father’s track is being revealed gradually, I hope there is a good reason why this track is getting so much importance!

It is quite apparent what role Jia is going to play in the story. Although Maheen claims to hate Waqar but at the same time, she cannot stand it when he is with Jia. Jia’s dialogues showed that she has a one-track mind, when she isn’t talking about Maheen and Waqar’s relationship with each other, she is most often questioning Waqar about their relationship status.

Everyone’s make-up and styling was terrible in tonight’s episode and the bad lighting did not help either. The drama has a very “old” feel to it, which would have been alright if the story or the theme of the play as a whole was meaningful, deep and very touching like the first episode. The overall feel of this part of the story should have been different (more lively) to match the developments we are watching in these episodes. In this day and age when viewers are so used to watching dramas with the best picture quality, for most viewers the overall picture quality of this play would be enough to switch channels.

The dialogues in general, in which everyone refers to Maheen or Waqar as vo ya usay etc are getting repetitive and make it look like none of these people are allowed to call them by their names. There were tons of ” Us se baat krne ja rahi. vo so rahi hai. vo nahi aa rahi kya. vo aa gaya. us ne sorry keh diya.” dialogues in this episode as well. There is nothing odd about such dialogues if all the characters involved know who is the subject of the conversation. The “suspense” in these dialogues isn’t interesting at all, I actually find them funny!

Overall, this was a much better episode which gave me hope that the story might be back on track but the fact is that the overall treatment given to this story isn’t right therefore I doubt that Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai will be the kind of drama most of us were expecting it to be particularly after watching the first episode.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai Episode 6 – Viewers Zara Tham Ke!

This episode took dragging a certain issue which seems more like a non-issue right now to a whole new level and I have to admit that even though I was being really patient and tried my best to enjoy these conversations but I just could not do that!! I love Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s dialogues but only when they go well with the situation being presented on screen. Also, it is particularly odd that even these young people who are supposed to be fun loving and carefree speak like philosophers! It reminds me of the days when I was teaching; when we got an extra class and didn’t have enough to content to keep the students occupied, we sometimes used to talk about irrelevant things which were important generally but had nothing to do with that particular class!!

Gulrez might be sensitive and he will probably not take rejection well but the fact that most of the conversations in this episode revolved around Gulrez’s state of mind and whether Maheen will accept or reject the proposal was truly annoying especially because this has been going on for 3 episodes now!! The thought running through my head during this episode was, “God!!!! these people really need to get a life!!” I hate to say this but the first episode of this drama gave a completely different introduction to the story. It promised something meaningful and intense but what we are watching right now are a lot of heavy duty dialogues with very little context!

I am glad that Ayeza Khan is experimenting with her looks but her loud make-up, those curls and especially the dress she wore tonight when Maheen was out shopping was a little too over the top! That was a formal outfit which no one will wear to a mall or even during day time when they are out and about. Maheen should have been dressed in a fun and trendy manner but her overall outlook is more exaggerated than anything else. Fajr got a lot of screen time in tonight’s episode and her over excitement was cute as long as it looked like it will eventually lead to something but after those long scenes in which she tried to convince Gulrez that he should go ahead and hold Maheen’s hand (since that somehow will do the trick!) when Gulrez just backed out and turned to his foxy for comfort, I felt cheated!

The only conversation which I enjoyed was the one the entire family had when Maheen was at ami begum’s house. It was good to see someone talking about Waqar for a change! I am also surprised that ami begum values and loves Maheen more and was being very judgmental about Waqar even at this point when he was supposed to be very close to her.

I still feel that all the characters have a refreshing feel to them overall but the story so far does not have a lot to offer. The previous episode ended with Jia arguing with her father and this one too ended with him looking at Maheen while she got up to leave the party. Is there a connection between these two? The way his character is being gradually revealed, it seems like there is more to this track. Honestly speaking, I am tired of watching Faryal Mahmood play such roles and just like Ayeza Khan, she too is wearing a lot more make-up than required. Waqar Ahmed apologized to Maheen in this episode and it is highly likely that there is an “agenda” behind this apology. I have no idea why the background score was so romantic every time Waqar and Maheen met, it seemed out of place.

This episode was just as slow-paced as the last one and the conversations were highly repetitive. I hope it picks up pace and becomes more interesting in the upcoming episodes. I am pretty sure now that the viewers will have to watch this drama “zara tham ke” since the writer is in no hurry to take the story forward ;) Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar ko “halka na lei”!!!

PS: The review reflects my views about this episode and not the drama as a whole therefore like any other sensible and open-minded person, I am more than willing to enjoy future episodes if they are enjoyable!!!

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai Episode 5 Review – Lackluster

The first episode of Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai was mind-blowing, the second one was entertaining and made me inquisitive, the third one was somewhat interesting, the fourth episode had its good and bad points and this fifth episode was strictly okay. So far, the writer and the director in particular have failed to give the viewers the kind of screenplay which would keep them glued to their television screens. The personality traits of the main leads are being revealed bit by bit therefore the viewers need a lot of patience to sit through this one. Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai hasn’t really taken off just yet, I hope that it will eventually become more interesting. The ever-present sad background score in this episode and added melodrama even in situations where it wasn’t needed made some of the scenes difficult to connect to because the emotions seemed forced. Such scenes also give a depressing feel to the drama even though right now the story is not very serious or depressing. The actress playing Maheen’s mother is a complete misfit in the role and Jia’s track is unappealing at the moment. I am a big fan of Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s dialogues but somehow the way some of these dialogues were delivered in tonight’s episode was disappointing and some of the philosophical bits didn’t quite fit in.

The entire situation which eventually lead to Ami begum opening Waqar’s sling was interesting but it wasn’t directed skillfully. Eventually when Waqar started bleeding, the scene was difficult to watch but at the same time it was quite realistic. The viewers found out more about Waqar’s character in this episode; he does not believe in falling in love because apparently people in England don’t have the time to fall in love! Waqar is westernized and very different from rest of his family. Maheen felt sorry for Waqar for the first time and was genuinely disturbed after the incident but even then she did not forgive him. Gulrez appeared in the first 5 minutes of this episode wanting to talk to Maheen but he never made it to her room. Later on, his conversation with Waqar revealed a great deal about his personality and the differences in their personalities. They are like two opposite sides of the pole. This episode clearly showed that Waqar has absolutely no feelings for Maheen just yet. I am glad the foxy is out of the picture for now and I am pretty sure it was used to show Gulrez’s personality; he gets attached to things and then it is very difficult for him to let go. Shehzad sheikh was definitely a great choice for playing this role.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai Episode 5 Review - Lackluster

Neelam’s visit to the mazar and the flashback scene once again showed what effect Maheen’s refusal could have on Gulrez and how concerned Neelam was for him. Honestly speaking now after watching these 3 episodes, I am thinking, it would have been so much better if the first episode was different and we started from the present! I find myself continuously assuming things which isn’t always fun especially because naturally it will take weeks for the whole story to be revealed.

This episode should have ended with Gulrez finally telling Maheen how he felt about her instead of Jia’s scene with her father! Am I the only one who isn’t interested in Jia’s track at all? I find her terribly annoying so far. As a whole, the magic that I was expecting from this episode and even from the previous one was completely absent.
