Sarah shared that she was very attached to her father and she had a artistic back ground. Sara said that his father had two wives and the balance he maintained among his wives was exemplary.

Ohkay so, this was probably one of the best episodes of Prem Gali that have aired so far. Just when I was getting a little worried about the message that was being imparted regarding the importance of unnecessary burdens like dowry, Faiza Iftikhar came through & did not disappoint. This entire episode showed how close-knit neighborhoods join hands & show support in the hour of need. Everything that unfolded in this episode was heart-warming & I loved seeing each one of them contributing in their own way.
The main focus of this entire episode was mostly on Fari’s dowry. It showed how not only Haseena but all the families in Prem Gali got affected by this tragic event. What made it even better was that it all just didn’t stop there & everyone came together to show support to Haseena & Fari. It won’t be wrong to say but as much as I liked seeing all of them playing their part, I was getting concerned about the collection of new dowry for Fari because in times like these, where weddings have turned into business transactions for the majority of the society, to reiterate the importance of dowry was making me feel uneasy.
However, it doesn’t take away the sweetness of the entire incident because out of all the people, it was Shireen who came up with the idea of helping Haseena out. For her & then everyone else to give up on their savings just to support Fari was absolutely sweet. It showed how their hearts were connected & the emotional residents of Prem Gali understood the true essence of being neighbors, because of which they all decided to play their part. Haseena too felt burdened but because she was feeling helpless, she couldn’t say no to their generosity. It goes to show that in some aspects, they all may disagree but its always times like these when everyone feels the need to come together & figure a way out.
I liked that Fari took a stand against what everyone was trying to do in regards to her dowry. She had all the right to do that for herself because she didn’t want her worth to be reduced to the things she or her mother could afford to take to her new home. Although it was Joya who understood what her friend was trying to say I actually laughed when out of all the people, Hatim made it look like he too was on the same page & then the look that he got from Hamza explained it all that he definitely wanted all of his money back.
I was happy that the writer decided to show in-laws like Firdous’s family who wanted nothing from Haseena but only agreed to the dowry because they understood that as a mother she must’ve picked up some gifts for her daughter. It showed that they were simply considerate people who didn’t want to hurt a mother’s feelings & wanted her to do whatever made her happy. This episode definitely imparted a beautiful message that materialistic things don’t really always guarantee a happy married life or a life full of dignity & respect only because a girl’s family was able to afford a lot of stuff – by the end of the day courtesy, consideration, respect, empathy, understanding & love matter the most & set ground for a healthy relationship that two individuals share.
It wouldn’t be an episode of Prem Gali that does not end on a cliffhanger. Shireen wants Hamza to find a decent guy for Joya, it is actually amusing that Shireen, who happens to be so far-sighted has not even for once paid heed to the fact that Joya can get married to Hamza too. Obviously, it’s not going to be an easy journey for Joya & Hamza, which means there’s going to be a lot more drama on the way. Another interesting development was the interaction between Musarrat & Luqman. I loved seeing them together in one frame & having an emotional conversation – I can already sense fireworks & definitely looking forward to their love story. Imagine seeing them both love-struck & smiling thinking about each other, it’s going to be absolutely cute.
This episode of Prem Gali was definitely heart-warming with a lot of beautiful interactions & some cute moments. Hamza clicking Joya’s pictures was another cute moment that they shared. Also, the way Hamza was right there for Fari, as well as Joya throughout this entire incident, was really nice to see. He genuinely is a nice guy & it shows with the way he behaves & interacts with people around him. Shireen won hearts in this episode by showing it again that she too had a heart & felt a lot for people she is associated with. It was nice to see everyone coming together in this episode & trying to find a way out of a messy situation collectively. Drama serial Jalan has been talk of the town lately due to its content. The drama serial revolves around the story of a girl who falls in love with her brother in law.
People demanded an immediate ban on Jalan and PEMRA banned it but it came back on our screens as the Sindh High Court uplifted the ban and allowed the drama to air.
Aabis Raza who is the director of Jalan has recently talked about the censored scenes of Jalan and character of Emmad Irfani.
He said, “Due to the censorship and challenges, the character of Asfandyar is not explained well because his character was not easy. It’s difficult to attract Asfandyar because he was not the kinda person who just got attracted by bitching. He was like the kind of person who might have corrected her.”
“He has major swings and he realized when Nisha strictly said to him that what he has done to her and he was going back to Meenu but she kept on changing strategies which changed Asfand’s personality and point of view,” he added.
Talking about the character of Emmad Irfani, he said, “Censorship is so dangerous if I had minus those scenes then his character might appear as ‘bad’ one. Emmad has worked so hard and often he messages me about all the important deleted scenes. However, Asfand is handsome hunk he will save himself with his swag.”

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) is being criticized for a show which is aired on Zee5. A video clip from the web series Churails has taken the internet by the storm.
In the video clip, actress Hina Khwaja Bayat is talking about how she got a job and promotion. She said, “I used to give a hand job twice a day to my boss who was 20 years older than me. After this, he gave me a job and after giving several more jobs, he gave me a promotion.”
The video has gone viral and Twitter is exploding with the demand for banning such vulgar content. People are demanding to ban vulgar content as they are the cause of ruining the mindset of the people.

The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has asked TV channels to review ‘indecent’ adverts and chalk up a strategy to get their advert approved by an internal committee prior to the telecast. The statement by the authority came days after an advert featuring Mehwish Hayat to promote Gala biscuits came under severe criticism for being against the values of the society.

In a statement, the regulatory authority said: “It has been observed with concerns that themes of advertisements of ordinary consumer products like biscuits, surf, etc being aired satellite TV channels are not corresponding with the disposition of these products. The trend is causing unrest and behavioral disturbance among the viewers being not only in violation of the commonly accepted standards of decency but also the socio-cultural norms of Pakistani society.”
In this context, viewers are criticizing PEMRA on Twitter for allowing such indecent advertisements. Pertinently, viewers are of the view that airing advertisements regarding general consumer products like biscuits in such a bizarre manner where the visuals do not commensurate with the use of the products is unwarranted and needs to be looked into. In addition to this, complainants are of the opinion that the presentation of the products in such manner is wittingly or unwittingly merely aiming to promote consumerism, it added.

The upcoming phone from Vivo has been described as a “professional imaging flagship”. Just as most of upcoming smartphones in the market, this phone is also expexted to have a 5G model.
Many reports suggest that the phone is slated for a early November launch. As far as the specs are concerned, the Vivo X60s will be powered by Snapdragon 765 paired with an 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage capacity.
Earlier rumors suggest that the phone will have 48 megapixel of quad-camera setup on its rear. The front facing selfie camera is expected to be 32 megapixels.

Actor Azfar Ali and Salma Hassan were married for around nine years and they are blessed with a daughter however they separated their ways. Later he got married to Naveen Waqar but even they got divorced too.
In a recent interview, Azfar Ali talked his heart out and this is the first time he talked about his divorce with Salma Hassan.
He shared, “At the time of marriage I realized how much people love me because before that I didn’t know that people love me so much. I thought I was a lost person who has not worked for a long time and I am just a guy who people have forgotten about. I thought people must have remembered me due to the reason that Naveen Waqar married such an ugly guy.”
“I never mentally divorced Salma it was just paperwork. Nor I have mentally divorced her or ended my friendship and not even she has ended the friendship with me. Even I am not like one of those fathers who forget their daughters. It’s my daughter and still, we eat and have fun together. I don’t even consider this a divorce,” he added.
He further shared, “But yes I do acknowledge that it was a marriage and when people reacted I was like ‘Oh shit! So many people love me, I didn’t know that.’ How do I know that people love me? Earlier when I used to step out if 500 people came to meet me but now only two people met me. I realized the popularity scene has stopped because I am not doing anything in mainstream media.”

Pakistani drama industry has grown incredibly over the years. Private channels and producers have changed the trends completely. This has also resulted in increased competition to get the viewers to tune into a specific channel. It was due to this competition that TRPs came into existence. The advertisers wanted to know which content was worth sponsoring and that is when there were special meters attached to specific areas that gauged which channels the viewers were tuning into at a specific time. While it is easier to gauge the popularity of a drama online since the views speak for themselves. The discussions and trends on social media are also an important indicator. The ratings of a drama however are of utmost importance for the channel, producers, and everyone involved. The rating system is considered dodgy but these are the only parameters available therefore all the channels gauge their ratings using the same method.
A drama that does not bring decent TRP is considered a loss by the channel even though it might be liked by a certain section of the society. Over the years, many writers, producers, and directors have talked openly about the changes they had to make to the dramas they were a part of because there are certain formulas that garner TRP. The most basic formula to date is that a strong woman is mostly seen as a threat. The viewers who decide which way these ratings will go apparently love watching a woman being victimized. Everyone in the industry agrees that a drama showing a strong woman such as Kankar and even Dil Lagi couldn’t get the kind of viewership with dramas such as Adhoori Aurat and Mann Mayal got in the past. There are times when a drama suddenly got more TRPs than ever before when a strong woman was hit or was thrown out of her house as was the case in Dil Lagi.
Since these numbers decide how much revenue the producers and channels will gather in the form of advertising, they are bent on making dramas that will attract such viewers. Therefore, the writers are forced to add scenarios showing the woman as a victim. For every strong female character, there must be an equally weak one in the drama if it is to appeal to the viewers who are responsible for these ratings. There are of course those viewers as well who do not want to watch such dramas but clearly, they are fewer in numbers.
The only way for anyone to know the ratings of a drama is the channel itself. They are the ones who post the TRPs of those dramas which are at the top of the game. The highest TRP dramas list has been made based on the ratings posted by the channels in the past 4 weeks. Some of the viewers will surely be shocked to see the kind of content which is being watched by the public on daily basis.
Pakistani dramas air on 3 different time slots, 7, 8, and 9 pm. The rest of the day mostly these dramas are repeated on the channels or there is content other than dramas. These time slots are the center of competition for all the channels. Here is a list of the highest TRP dramas right now.
Nand airs at 7 pm and it is definitely giving ARY much-needed ratings which they love to display on social media. It won’t be wrong to conclude from the figures that airing a drama 4 times a week is working for the channel. Like every other drama which is on this list, this one also has an extremely negative character and a woman who is a victim.
Jalan might be criticized by people on social media and it was also temporarily banned by PEMRA but it is also the most-watched drama right now. In fact, Jalan’s popularity skyrocketed when it was banned. This is yet another story about two sisters fighting over a man which appears to be a favorite with the general public.
Raaz-e-Ulfat airs on Geo and lately, it has been getting more ratings than ever before. Ever since the story took a tragic turn and a forced marriage was shown, the TRPs went higher than ever. It is the most-watched drama serial at the moment because people are totally invested in Mushk’s story.
Muqaddar is another drama airing on Geo which is way ahead of the competition. It is a story covering a politician’s desire to marry a young woman and lately it has turned into a power struggle between this young woman who is now his wife and his first wife! Clearly, the people responsible for these ratings love watching women fight over a man! No wonder the producers use this tactic to allure the viewers repeatedly.
Meherposh is not getting as much rating as some of the other Geo dramas on this list but when compared to the other channels it is way ahead of the game. This is another one of those dramas which showed a divorce right at the beginning of the story and later on it took a romantic turn. It has also been full of tragedies that appear to be the ‘rating generators’!
Umeed is a soap which has been on air for many weeks now. It has also been getting more ratings than any other drama on all the other leading channels in the same time slot. There was a time when Pakistani viewers were not very welcoming of soaps but that does not seem to be the case now.
Uraan started a few weeks back and it is already getting good ratings. Last month Uraan was on top of the TRP charts more than once. Uraan has been another one of the commercial dramas which is essentially a love story. It is a drama followed by even those viewers who generally do not tune into Geo.
Bandhay Ek Dor Se is Ahsan Khan’s comeback serial and it is another love triangle. It has a star cast which could be the reason for the ratings. Although Bandhay Ek Dor Se’s ratings are not as high as some of the other dramas on the list when compared to all the other dramas airing on the same day this drama is doing pretty well.
Tarap is a 9 pm drama and only recently it started getting ratings as the story took a tragic turn. Tarap’s TRPs are not as impressive as some of the other dramas on the list which shows that most of the dramas which get a really high rating either air on ARY or Geo.
Among all the dramas airing on HUM at the moment at 8 pm, Sabaat seems to be doing relatively better. More than once last month Sabaat was leading the spot with TRPs which were not too high but they were higher than the ratings the other dramas in the same time slot got.
The ratings of all these dramas say a great deal about why we constantly get to watch dramas which according to many of us are not up to the mark. That is why the actors and the writers request the viewers to watch quality dramas but it is certainly not happening! There are many dramas on air at the moment with different storylines yet they are not generating revenue for the channels or the production houses especially when compared to these other dramas. Geo is leading the TRP race with ARY Digital on the second and HUM is lagging far behind. The facts and figures are different from the likes and dislikes of many of the viewers on social media and our website.
