The gorgeous actress took to Instagram to share how she had been spending time in the kitchen, making burgers for her brothers.
“Trying out my cooking skills at home, made beef burgers for my monster brothers,” wrote Minal on her Instagram.

Ever since the increase in coronavirus cases in the country, Pakistan has been in a lockdown situation imposed by the government. The lockdown means no work opportunities for daily wage earners as they are all forced to sit at home and quarantine.
In such panicking and tough times. Pakistani celebrities started off with ration drives to help the needy. However most of them were criticized for publicizing their efforts.
Answering the same criticism, actor Salman Sheikh aka Mani recently posted a video answering the trolls who called them out for posting pictures of them donating ration.
“As pop culture celebrities when we share posts of our material wealth – our show ratings, our wardrobe, our holidays – it is labeled as “trending”. However when we try to use our fame to do some good, it is unfairly being labeled as “cheap publicity stunt”. When celebrities flaunt their wardrobes, their cars, their dogs or their homes, it’s trendy, tasteful, cute and stylish….But when they try to do something good, so others can follow suit or join their drive, it’s suddenly… cheap publicity,” said Mani in his video.
“In this lockdown when we saw the plight of the starving daily wage worker, Hira and I started a small donation drive at our place with the funds we had and put it up on Instagram….we got a backlash, we just couldn’t understand,” he stated further.
“We put up pictures on Instagram so whoever knew anyone deserving could contact us and refer that needy family. However, after a week we started running out of funds and appealed to others to join in. We also encouraged fans to start similar donations in their areas because our reach was limited.Pretty soon brands started contacting us and donating food supplies. However, we kept getting negative feedback from social media,” added Mani.
“Why is my question? We didn’t put up pictures with the people who we were donating to, we didn’t show queues of deserving white-collar workers at our place. We don’t even go down to meet the people who come to our doorstep, so we don’t embarrass them and they don’t feel that we are doing it for publicity. And yet…we are disliked for it. And yet….. We continue with our mission. Here’s the quote that keeps us going and will keep all those who are helping the ones in need, to keep at it no matter what,” said the actor with complete resolve.

Nausheen Shah happens to be one of the most fashionable stars of the industry. Her dress choices are always bold but beautiful and fashionable to the T. Alongside her keen sense of fashion, Nausheen happens to be a good actress as well, which she has proven time and again with her performances.

Nausheen also stated that she loved dressing up and had possibly spent all her money buying clothes and shoes for herself, and considering Nausheen’s sartorial choices, we feel, Nausheen did make a good investment indeed.
Typecasting means to cast an actor continuously in more or less the same kind of roles, either because of their physical appearance or previous success in such roles. Typecasting is especially unfair to those actors who are clearly capable of doing more. There is no denying the fact that the Pakistani drama industry is blessed with the best but even then the producers most often play it safe.
All the actors who are being typecast for the past few years are enormously talented. Most of these actors can easily pull off different kinds of roles yet somehow they settle for characters which are quite similar. It is monotonous and disappointing watching these actors in the same roles repeatedly.
I wrote a similar article in 2012 and some of these actors were in the list back then too! They seriously need to pick the characters they play more carefully.
Saba Hameed
Saba Hameed is on top of this list because she is the most experienced and talented actress who can fit into any kind of role at all. Yet! She chooses to play the flawed mother who always makes bad choices or is terribly insecure, over and over again. Saba Hameed played similar characters in many recent dramas. So much so that apart from the overall look, her characters were pretty much the same.
Guzarish, Baba Jani, Mere Mohsin, Ghalati are some of the recent dramas in which Saba Hameed played roles that had so many similarities. I am tired of watching her making her bahu or bhabhi’s life hell in dramas! It all started from Qaid-e-Tanhai and with a few breaks in between, it is continuing to date.
When Saba Hameed plays the mother of daughters in dramas, the characters go through some turmoil or the other. Aisi Hei Tanhai, Muqabil, Bhool are few such dramas.
Saba Hameed is a phenomenal actress and it would be great watching her following in the footsteps of actresses like Shamim Hilali, Asma Abbas and Badar Khalil who showed more diversity. Saba Hameed’s comic timing is exceptional too therefore she definitely has so many genres she can successfully experiment with.
Ayeza Khan
Ayeza Khan’s on-screen marriages have to be the most tearful and complicated affair. Every single drama she has worked in recently dealt with the same issue. Whether it was Yaariyan, Mere Pass Tum Ho, Thora Sa Haq and now Meher Posh, Ayeza Khan‘s characters go through similar situations. Ayeza works on her looks more than she does on making sure that she does something different every now and then.
She should definitely work less and choose the projects she is a part of carefully. The irony is that every drama Ayeza Khan has starred in recently has been a massive hit therefore the producers and Ayeza herself would have no reason to re-think the kind of roles she is being assigned.
Most of the characters Ayeza has played in her entire career have been black and white. It would be nice to see her in a character which is meaty and for once it would also be good to see Ayeza Khan compromising on her looks to play a role similar to the one Ushna Shah played in Alif Allah aur Insan and Iqra Aziz played in Ranjha Ranjha Kardi.
Mikaal Zulfiqar
Mikaal Zulfiqar is another actor who simply hasn’t played a character like the one he played in Durr-e-Shehwar since 2012! He has continuously been playing the role of the most clueless and selfish husband ever since in most of the dramas. Mikaal’s characters almost always cheat on their wives but ultimately end up regretting that behavior. Most often he is forgiven too (maybe because of those good looks!!)
Shehr-e-Zaat, Manjali, Sangat, Khasara, Ruswai, Izteraab are few such dramas in which he played roles that were quite similar. I am sure I am the only one who is sick and tired of watching him struggle with his complexes on screen. Mikaal Zulfiqar has played some of the most annoying male characters as well.
The role Mikaal played in Alif Allah aur Insaan was different and quite likable. He should stop playing the unfaithful and completely useless husband altogether and opt for roles that offer variety. In Durr-e-Shehwar he made a relatively brief appearance but his role left a lasting impression because it was easy to relate to.
Hania Aamir
Hania Aamir is one of my favorite actresses but I am quite disappointed with her choices recently. She was phenomenal in Titli but that doesn’t mean that she needs to play another character like that again. The role Hania Aamir chose to play in her latest drama Dil Ruba isn’t only similar to the one she played in Titli but also a lot like the role she is playing in drama serial Ishqiya which is currently on air.
Hania fits into the bubbly, happy-go-lucky roles perfectly which is why she is continuously seen playing such roles. She is clearly being typecast for this reason but it is up to her to step out of her comfort zone and experiment with different roles.
Alizeh Shah
Alizeh Shah has recently started playing leading roles in dramas. Apart from Ehd-e-Wafa she has been playing the yateem, besahara and bebas characters in all the dramas. Her constant sobbing in the recent dramas suggests that the producers are convinced that she is the most suitable actress for playing this role.
In Hoor Pari, Jo Tou Chahay and Mera Dil Mera Dushman, Alizeh Shah plays the innocent girl who suffers because of her selfish and insincere relatives. In all these plays she has a close relationship with her mother and is the majboor heroine who wants to but is not in a position to question anyone around her.
Alizeh Shah is completely capable of playing progressive roles therefore she should stop opting for such roles which only require her to look pretty and sob. I loved her in Superstar and would like to see her in different roles.

Faysal Qureshi
Faysal Qureshi was very clear in putting his stance across. He has no issues with the charities that are being done but he most certainly has an issue with the way pictures and videos are being made viral when the ration bags are being handed out to the poor and needy. Faysal Qureshi feels a lot for those who are taking help at this time and he feels their self-esteem is very important and shouldn’t be compromised upon for the sake of posting a few pictures on social media.
After Faysal Qureshi posted this tweet, ace Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Amir also agreed to his opinion and prayed that people understood what Faysal was trying to say.
Actress Zarnish Khan didn’t have much to say because Faysal Qureshi made his point clear but she couldn’t help but say that she agreed as well.
Vasay Chaudhry
Writer and actor Vasay Chaudhry also took it to his twitter to share his two cents about the current charities happening all over and being posted on social media. He also requested but also felt the need to remind that the charity should be done in its stride and not with an intention of creating content to be shared and posted on social media.
Amanat Ali
Singer Amanat Ali took it to his Instagram to speak about how he was unsure of why everything the celebrities did was done in front of cameras, be it their professional work or now as the people are getting to see; their charities. Amanat Ali quoted Hazrat Ali (RA) and spoke about how it was emphasized in one of His sayings that while doing charity, one should not even look into the eye of the recipient. It goes to show how much compassion and humility should be practiced while doing such gestures, this is why Amanat Ali was unsure of the approach he was coming across.
His post started a respectful debate where people agreed and disagreed but Amanat Ali engaged with everyone to make his stance clear and make valid points. He also spoke about how one’s intention mattered the most because in the end it was Allah who was going to judge and therefore charity could also be done without attaining people’s attention.
Anoushay Ashraf
Under Amanat Ali’s post, Anoushay Ashraf also replied and spoke about the power of social media. Anoushay Ashraf had a valid point where she spoke about how the right usage of social media was helping people approach them for the donations, however she also spoke about the importance of keeping the identities of the recipients discreet. She did feel that the entire display of poor and needy and bringing them to the limelight by posting their pictures was ignorance at its peak.
Yasir Hussain
Actor and host Yasir Hussain also took it to his Instastories to speak about how wrong the approach of people were when it came to doing charities. He felt disgusted at the idea of how people were making sure to fit in the frame only to prove that they have done charity. He also continued to make a stark comparison between Muslims and non-Muslims where the pictures clearly showed non-Muslims being discreet and just hanging the ration bags on the fence so that the passersby could pick them without even knowing who was behind this thoughtful gesture.
Shoaib Jatt
Sports journalist Shoaib Jatt took it to his twitter to speak about the heartfelt efforts of test cricketer Shabbir Ahmed. Shoaib Jatt shed a light on how Shabbir Ahmed was doing everything in his might to help the people in a small town of Khanewal. He spoke about the tight schedule Shabbir Ahmed was following where he wakes up at 3AM and starts his day early to help as many people as he could. He wanted to bring it to everyone’s attention so that if others wanted to contribute, they could, while highlighting the fact that he was doing all of this without making any noise on the social media because he was being compassionate towards those who are being helped.
Shoaib Jatt’s tweet highlighted exactly what Anoushay Ashraf’s point was regarding social media being used rightly to highlight the important aspects while still maintaining a healthy balance and discretion.

Tonight’s episode of Sabaat established the leading characters further. Some of the developments were likable while there were others that were unconvincing. Hassan’s overnight change was the most difficult one to relate to. It was almost as if he was waiting for a dupatta-clad good girl to give him a reality check! I find Anaya’s character appealing minus the clichés but the role she played in bringing about this change in Hassan was a little too stereotypical.
This episode covered the events a few days after Hassan and Anaya’s confrontation therefore some of the developments were difficult to grasp at first. Also, are there really people out there who will pay someone 3 days after they start working? While the pay scale and the nature of Hassan’s job made sense but the fact that he was already shopping from his money didn’t add up. I think these things should have been shown instead of conveying a lot of it through different dialogues. All the tracks, however, gave some kind of new information about these characters.
Miraal’s Personality
Miraal’s basic personality was shown in the first episode but tonight we saw more of it and it can be safely said that she has an attitude problem. She has a self-righteous and controlling behavior. She feels like she does not owe anyone anything, not even respect. The way she tried to influence her brother’s decisions showed that her relationship with everyone around her was toxic. In the first episode, these two appeared to be quite close to one another but apparently all these years Miraal has simply been controlling her brother.
Except for her father, Miraal has zero-tolerance for everyone else around her. She doesn’t only want to run her life the way she wants but also makes sure that everything else around her also works according to her wishes. And she definitely does not hold back! The fact that she did not leave Hassan alone but actively tried to find out more showed that she takes controlling others really seriously! I was not expecting Miraal’s character to take such a negative turn but it is easy to understand why she thinks people are just as disposable as things. She is definitely spoiled and her father clearly thinks there is nothing wrong with that.
There must be a good reason why Miraal’s relationship with her naani is being given so much screen time. I am more intrigued to find out how her behavior with her naani will influence her personality in the upcoming episodes. Sarah Khan translated her character convincingly on screen, I especially liked her acting when she interacted with her naani and her brother’s friend.
The Change in Hassan
The preview of this episode did suggest that Hassan was going to take Anaya’s advice more seriously than expected but I really wasn’t expecting him to change his ways the way he did. Hassan’s dialogues clearly suggested that it wasn’t just what Anaya said which made him rethink his present choices but it was also because of everything he had heard people saying about him in the past. This cannot possibly be an easy decision for someone like him yet he seemed to be quite confident about it. I really think that this development should have been covered gradually.
While Hassan’s decision was quite mature, the way he informed Anaya about his decision was extremely immature. I felt that he was still confused and trying to prove that he could do this. It was difficult to take his decision seriously. Later on, he told Miraal that he had expected her to support him the most yet he never even sat down with her to discuss this major shift in his life. Ameer Gilani gave a decent performance but I really don’t find his overall styling appealing. Am I the only one who thinks he looks a little like Rahim Pardesi?
Anaya – A Progressive Character
I absolutely loved Mawra Hocane’s performance tonight and I also like the character she is playing. Although Anaya so far is a little too perfect and completely different from Miraal but she is also vocal and confident. Some of her dialogues were written really well tonight, like the one about picking her battles wisely. Her parents too are just as likable, I wanted to see more of them in this episode. Muhammad Ahmed is such an exceptional actor, he has a definite screen presence.
Anaya’s parents are supportive and they are continuously cheering her on. It was also good to see that Anaya’s friends had more to discuss than the incident with Hassan.
Final Remarks
I liked this episode more than the first one although I am finding it difficult to warm up to Hassan’s track just yet. The director once again kept things real and at the same time visually pleasing. The only scenes which transitioned in a confusing manner were the ones from the college to Miraal trying to access her brother’s laptop. This scene was a lot like the opening scenes from the first episode. There is nothing exceptional about this drama so far but it is engaging enough.
The preview of the next episode showed a confrontation between Miraal and Hassan after Miraal decides to perhaps tell Anaya off.

Soniya Hussain replied to Vasay Chaudhry’s tweet through her Instagram story and said that she used to have the same point of view that showing off transitives the good deeds. But it is also a fact that many people learns from the visual activities. All the religious activities were taught by actions when there is so much immoral material on social media why not a good thing as well?

The widely spreading coronavirus has been keeping us all indoors. While everyone is enjoying a sort of a vacation (although nobody goes out to have fun) there is someone who is still not off. Taking to his Instagram, the actor stated, “Its important that we all stop and thank the ladies in our lives.”
Danish further added how the realization had dawned upon him. “In this time of crises, I realized how hard the women in my family work. Men go out to work and we feel like we do all the work. But sitting at home in isolation, you look around and realize how difficult are the duties of our women in our families. From getting up for breakfast, to taking care of the kids throughout the day, from cleaning up to cooking and taking care of matters inside and outside the house. It all gets unnoticed,” said Danish.
Ending the note, the Maherposh actor said that he would take this opportunity to thank the women in his life. “Therefore I just want to thank my wife, my mother, my daughter and all the others that help me in one way or another and are the reason for where I stand today in life. I am forever in your debt and will never be able to repay you. Thank you,” said Danish.
