Visaal Episode 18 Review – The Confession!
Ohkay so, things have become quite intense & interesting at this stage of the drama & by the end of every episode, I find myself looking forward to the next one. This drama sure is a piece of intelligent writing because I absolutely love how layered the characters are & how the overall story is developing!
Naheed finally confessed, she had to because Akram just didn’t leave any other choice for her than to finally bring herself to admit what she did. Naheed knew that Akram found out about everything & she couldn’t fool him further. Despite knowing Akram’s reality & his unreasonable demand of wanting to get married to Pari, I still didn’t see him in as much of a bad light as I saw Naheed. Yes, she feels guilty, yes, she has not been at peace ever since she saw Pari’s life getting destroyed but still, a few tears here & there & few anger pangs wanting to protect Pari from getting married too soon is not enough of a compensation or rather redemption to be honest. I totally think this was the right time for Naheed to say whatever she had in her heart to Pari & confess in front of her, but she proved that she still loves herself a bit more to do that by putting Pari ahead of her!
I thought Naheed will know that she has nothing to lose & because of that she will tell Pari everything but she once again tried playing the victim card in front of Pari by making Akram look like a villain in this entire situation. Yes, I will definitely give it to Naheed that she genuinely feels remorseful over what she has done but then in stead of saving Pari, she made herself look like a victim who needed help. Akram didn’t pay heed to Naheed’s pleading & he didn’t want to either because for him, Naheed is responsible for everything that Pari has gone through & that’s about it. I loved the entire conversation that happened between Naheed & Akram & how he worded his feelings & insight over this entire matter. He knows what he wants & he is open about it. I must say, because the writer introduced him in such a manner, I have grown to have an acceptance for a character like Akram & despite wanting everyone to know about his reality, I want things to work for him so that he can stop living a life of lies.
I feel Visaal has become one of my favourite works of Hashim Nadeem & it is all because of the way he has written the characters of Akram, Naheed & Molvi Ghufran. I must say, this has to be one such drama where the female lead had zero personality & still it does not effect or impact the overall experience of this story because the male lead as well as the supporting characters have such strong roles to play & have so much to offer. Even the characters like Doodh Patti, Khala, Jumman Bua, Tariq, they all in their own way contribute so much to the drama & make it a complete package & not to be missed, an added bonus of amazing acting by every single one of them where they have owned these characters & breathed life into them. I simply love Visaal, what about you?

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 2 – Review!
Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh took the story forward but was strictly alright. I think the predictability of the plot & the entire story is making it harder for me to be too emotionally invested in this drama. Even though this drama has big names associated with it & they are definitely drawing the viewers’ attention to it, the overall treatment that has been given to it makes it a bit lacklustre.
Zain follows Nishal who he thinks is Rabail only to find out where she lives & he gets to know that she is a daughter of Asad Niazi. Ibrar scores himself a win when he talks to Zain about Rabail introducing him as Asad Niazi’s relative & that’s when Zain thinks the universe is in his favor. It was interesting to see that Zain’s mother seemed a bit suspicious over Zain’s sudden submissiveness because she knows her son too well to him being perfectly fine with this change in his overall attitude especially in the matters concerning his marriage.
Ibrar’s wife visits Rabail & finds her to be a very traditional & simple sort of a person who is completely different to the kind of girl Zain has an image of in his mind. Zain does tell his mother again & again that he is perfectly fine with this marriage & she can’t seem to wrap her head around it.
Rabail on her own faces issues because of Umair who happens to create problems for her. Even though Nishal & her mother Nafeesa love Rabail a lot but they do make a point that Rabail was always going to be an outsider despite being an ideal girl that she is. Nafeesa feels threatened because she fears losing Umair because of Rabail & Nishal gives words to how she felt about competing with this perfect image of Rabail her entire life. Rabail does see that her presence is causing issues in Asad’s family, that happens to be reason why she quietly accepts Zain’s proposal.
Umair is unable to accept that Rabail has rejected him because he just can not take no for an answer & he feels frustrated as he is unable to make Rabail understand that they can share a relationship deeper & closer than that of siblings. It is obvious that the more Umair will try to persuade her, Rabail will try to find a way out of his life.
Overall, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh was strictly alright. I feel this is the sort of a drama that one can tune to if they either want to see their favourite stars or their acting because the story is quite flawed as in an era of Facebook & Whatsapp I can’t really wrap my head around the fact that Rabail & Zain will get married on the basis of a misunderstanding that too based on Rabail’s name? I totally see Zain & his friends as stalkers, which they clearly proved by following Nishal to her home, so it is quite unrealistic that they didn’t bother finding out more details about her especially in such a situation where their marriage is on the cards! Anyways, talking about acting, Ayeza Khan has gotten a chance to perform so far but not Imran Abbas, which I am sure he will once Zain’s character will come to the forefront completely. I don’t want to say this in such an early stage of the drama but so far it hasn’t truly impressed me & I completely blame the predictability of the plot. I also don’t see the characters having much depth in them, so far they all seem very typical, seen-before kind & I am not too sure how I feel about them all. I hope the performances of all these actors & some twists & turns make this drama worthwhile but so far, I feel it has had a very average start. Please share your thoughts!

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 16 Review – Entertaining!
This episode was thoroughly entertaining and I am really enjoying the recent shift in the story and different changes in the characters. It is definitely time to tune into this drama once again especially for those people who might have stopped watching it after watching the initial episodes. Zaid and Naina’s track has taken centre stage and the recent developments have been fast paced as well as interesting. Zaid and Naina both have “gained” something from an experience which initially left them bewildered and upset. Naina has learned that money is not everything, she is quite happy with the love and trust she is getting. Therefore she is doing everything she can to give some love back. She has no idea that Zaid is taking money from her mother therefore she thinks that Zaid has perhaps changed a little. She has also been shown as someone who appreciates every little thing someone does for her and is completely different from Zaid who is selfish and thankless. The shift is Naina’s personality is likeable as well as convincing. This change did not come overnight and considering how “insecure” her father always was, it is easy to understand why this new-found trust would give her the courage and confidence to see something positive in an otherwise bleak situation.
Zaid is a selfish and greedy man who is making the most of this opportunity. Right now, even though Naina has changed so much Zaid is not interested in her at all. He notices the changes in her but unlike Naina he fails to see anything positive. He is thoroughly enjoying the fact that he is getting monetary help from Naina’s mother but he is so insensitive that he is using the car given to him to give other girls free rides. Naina and his sister still use public transport or walk back home! Until last week I didn’t feel the need to judge Zaid’s character because he came across as amusing but tonight I definitely felt for Naina. Zaid is cheating on her in so many different ways and he does not even pause for a second to think about how unfair he is being! Sami Khan has translated the character of a self-centered man who has hit a jackpot brilliantly. His expressions and dialogue delivery is always on point and effortless. Madiha Imam is extremely likeable in this role. She has done complete justice to her character and after this episode, I am dreading the fact that she will eventually find out what is going on and she will be heart broken.
The change in Fayyaz and Nawaz’s character is another interesting development. Although the actor playing Nawaz’s role completely killed the affect those dialogues could have had but the writer managed to get the message across. Nawaz has finally forgiven Fayaz which means that eventually both these families will meet at some point. Fayaz has also partially forgiven Naina and tried to help Zaid’s father today. Zaid’s father is completely different from his son – sometimes you wonder who Zaid took after! Zaid’s father deserves tons of credit for giving Naina the confidence because of which she has undergone a complete change. Zaid and Naina’s scenes continue to be the best part of this drama. Naina’s efforts to get closer to Zaid’s family are also heart-warming.
In the preview of the next episode Arham was shown trying to get in touch with Zaid. It looked like Zaid will try to get closer to Naina now because perhaps he feels Naina might leave him if Arham comes back. Right now, the story has tons of potential and there is so much to look forward to. If this drama had better production values and the supporting cast was better, it could have been more visually pleasing as well.
Imran Abbas Supports HUM Awards!
A huge controversy went down recently when Imran Abbas and Farhan Saeed showed disappointment on stars flying to Toronto for Hum Awards and not staying in Pakistan to vote. Imran Abbas was then targeted by Yasir Hussain who by the way thinks ke do baar vote kiya kuch nahin hua to abb to na diya to kya hogaya. Many people started talking about boycotting the upcoming Hum Awards. Imran Abbas has now clarified his stance on the whole scenario. This is what he said:
Hum Awards are getting a lot of hate since the celebs started flying for rehearsals to Toronto. Hum has however also given their stance on the situation!
Syed Abbas Jafri Elected On PTI’s Ticket!
So, the election results are here and we have seen some major upsets in every province of Pakistan. After millions came out to vote and choose their next leader, Chairman Pakistan Tahreek e Insaaf, Imran Khan is our new Prime Minister. PTI has won with the majority in KPK and they may form a government in Punjab too. However, the most surprising result in the whole country is from the city of light Karachi. With the majority win on National Assembly as well as Provincial Assembly seats, PTI has emerged as the major political force in Karachi. Aamir Liaquat Hussain has won on PTI ticket from NA-245. Another person from the showbiz community who contested the election on PTI ticket was Syed Abbas Jafri who is a well-known model and he has won a seat in the Provincial Assembly of Sindh. He thanked the people from his constituency on Facebook:
It is great to watch people from other walks of life to contest in elections and try to work for the betterment of Pakistan. Congratulations to Abbas on winning in PS-125 from our side!
Zun Mureed Episode 22 Review – A Way Out!
With this episode Tabbasum finally managed to make up her mind about what she needs to do next. Tabbasum’s brother talked to Fari hoping that she would help him convince Tabbasum to go back to Sajjad but his plan totally backfired. Fari’s character continues to be a breath of fresh air. Although the actress playing Fari’s role always wears more make-up than is necessary just like Rubina but the character itself is so positive and likeable that you can’t help but appreciate it. Fari suggested to Tabbasum that they should rent a place where they can keep the children with them too. This was a brilliant idea and with the help of Sidra, the execution was easier than Tabbasum ever thought it would be. While there are women like Mariam, Tabbasum’s bhabhi and mother in law who cannot see Tabbasum happy or growing, there are also women like Sidra and Fari in this play who are wise, sensitive and practical and very willing to help. Tabbasum’s character itself has a great deal going for it. I don’t remember watching another play in which the viewers got to see a woman’s journey like this. Everything is being covered in detail and logically. We have watched many dramas covering domestic abuse but most often the women are shown as victims and there is very little that they do to make the most of their situation. The focus is usually on the protagonist’s majburis and sufferings as opposed to showing how a woman can cope with such a situation with perseverance. Also, most often even if a woman manages to stand on her own it is usually in the last episode and sudden! I am also glad that there isn’t another man in Tabbasum’s life who could possibly be the “saviour”, she is fighting this war all on her own with the support of her sister and now Sidra. It is always good to see a female protagonist who is her own hero!
Abid still wants Tabbasum to come back but he isn’t as rigid as he was before. Everything he did tonight was completely in line with his character. After listening to all the problems which Sajjad and the children have been going through, he did not only allow Mariam to visit and help but also went himself to convince Sajjad to bring Tabbasum back. Bi Jaan finally tried to tell Sajjad and Mariam the truth about Rubina but Sajjad did not even bother reading what she had written and Mariam did not believe. This part was really convincing as well. I was waiting for Bi Jaan to tell someone since she has seen what Rubina is capable of doing.
Once again the scenes covering what the children were going through were right on point. Sajjad is too busy trying to prove to himself that he can manage on his own and does not take anything the children say seriously. Children need more than just food and a place to live. More than anything else, they need someone who will be there for them all the time. Sajjad is definitely not the kind of parent who can do that! Tabbasum was the one who was looking after the kids before and now too she is the only one who can give her children the kind of love and attention they need.
This episode laid the foundations for what is coming ahead. In the next episode Rubina will execute her plan and the preview of the next episode also suggested that she might have given Bi Jaan more sedatives than she could tolerate. I am looking forward to what the next episode will have in store. Will Sajjad eventually realize his mistake or will Sajjad and Tabbasum go their separate ways for good? Waiting to find out!
Haara Dil Episode 16 Review — Sad & Slow
So episode 16 went down today and it was a rather slow one, nothing of consequence happened in it. Faraz got a lot of screen time in this episode and he did better in this episode as compared to the previous one. This whole Faraz and Abeer story arch is still too much to swallow, Momina had hardly spent five minutes with him and she decided to suggest the idea of him marrying Abeer. It is as if Abrar and Shagufta never warned Abeer and Momina about strangers especially the strangers who propose marriage on the very first meeting. We also got to see Fehmi and Zeba bad mouth Abeer and Momina since such “ameer khandan ke larkay” are interested in both of them, I miss the old Fehmi and Zeba who were less toxic and more neutral.
In other news Qasid sees Abeer hanging out with Faraz and like any other man with fragile masculinity he runs to his mother figure Fehmi Khala and whines about how he can not marry a woman who has pre-marital affairs with guys. Upon further discussion it is revealed that Abrar was pretty smart and he left this house to his wife Shagufta and in case of her death to his daughters. Qasid then comes up with the idea that since Momina is so “shareef” and owns the house too he should marry her but while Fehmi and Qasid were busy conspiring Momina was eavesdropping and she heard everything.
On Fizza and Arham’s front Fizza’s patience is running thin she probably thought that things between them will become better after the engagement but to her disappointment Arham is still the same old distant guy. It is understandable that Fizza is a privileged and very admirable woman and she probably has had everything in life that she has ever wanted and Arham is nothing more than another thing on her Bucket List that she has to own and she mistakes it for love but it is so unwise of both Amtul and Fizza to expect Arham to just forget the love of his life over the time span of a few days and fall in love with Fizza.
First of all why would any woman want the guy she loves to so easily get over the woman he so dearly loved. If he gets over her so easily what guarantee is there that he won’t fall out of love with you even more easily. But that’s not the character’s fault this one can be blamed on writers who still treat love like teenage infatuations or madness nothing in between.
Another thing that was unfair on Momina’s part but then again can be blamed on writers is her passive aggressiveness towards Arham and Afaan. Momina knows that she told Amtul about Abrar’s death and it is obvious that Amtul didn’t tell anyone so instead of being bitter about it she needs to inform them moreover she played victim in front of Abeer complaining about how Arham got engaged. Arham was ready to accept Momina with Sami but she refused and yet here she is complaining. It is not totally unbelievable people do that but the way Momina has been portrayed so far this is not like her.
Now that Momina is aware of Fehmi’s intentions she has become careful, as of Faraz he still comes off as a shady character, there’s still too much to be unfolded in this story so stay tuned.

Celebrities With Their Thumbs Up After Voting
Election 2018 has been all the talk for a while now. This election was one of it’s kind for so many reasons, ever since the election 2013 the political awareness in the general public has increased massively. After the Panama case and the disqualification of President of Pakistan’s biggest political party Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif people of the Republic of Pakistan have for the first time seen hope that things can get better. That everyone including the Prime Minister of this country is not above law and that is probably why the turn out this election has been massive.
Just like general public the entertainment fraternity was equally excited for the elections. The Hum Awards controversy aside the ones who were in Pakistan were super enthusiastic about the elections, they not only voted but also posted their pictures after voting and encouraged everyone to go vote without thinking who wins and who doesn’t. Here’s how the celebrities used their star power to encourage the masses to go out and vote.

Meri Gurya Episodes 7 & 8 Review – Truly Upsetting!
These two episodes of Meri Gurya covered the tragedy which was bound to happen but definitely not one which the viewers were looking forward to. Tonight’s episode opened with Dabeer telling his mother that Safina was the one who gave Samreen poison. His mother would have fallen for this lie if Samreen didn’t tell her that she took the poison herself. It was difficult to believe that someone like Safina had fallen in love with Dabeer so much that she would brush something as big as this under the carpet. This recent development in the story was unconvincing as well as disappointing. While I understand why someone like Safina would be interested in fixing a man like Dabeer, it is difficult to relate to the fact that she is still willing to live with him knowing that he is capable of killing her. The reason she gave was that she wanted to find out why he did not want to stay with her and it wasn’t convincing enough! Shehnaz and Shahmir’s conversation however was well written and brilliantly acted out. Shehnaz is an intelligent woman who refused to fall for the “blackmail” and tried to do whatever she could to stop this marriage from taking place.
Abida was a sweet and innocent girl whose mother did everything she could to protect her but the second Shehnaz was a little distracted because of her own troubles, Dabeer the monster took advantage of the situation. This basically goes to show that you just cannot protect your children enough especially when the monster who kidnaps and kills children might be a seemingly harmless neighbor who doesn’t have to try very hard to harm your child. This entire incident was covered in a painfully realistic manner. Dabeer had been planning this for a long time now therefore all he needed was an opportunity which he got when Abida’s father was busy getting married to a girl old enough to be his daughter.
The scene which covered Shehnaz’s frame of mind once she found out that her daughter was missing was truly distressing. Sania Saeed is a remarkable actress who did complete justice to these scenes. The desperation with which Shehnaz looked for her daughter and her condition when she found out that Abida really was gone was extremely heart-wrenching. While watching all these scenes the reality hit home that it takes only a few seconds for something like this to happen. Mohsin Abbas Haider yet again performed brilliantly throughout. Dabeer knows only too well how to cover his tracks. Shehnaz’s mother in law’s attitude while she was desperately looking for her daughter went to show that she couldn’t care less. Right now, for her the most important thing was to get her son married so that he could give her a grandson. Safina did whatever she could to help Shehnaz not knowing that the person she was married to and sympathized with was the culprit. The callous attitude of the police was also covered in this episode, another aspect of our society we are a little too familiar with.
This was one of the most upsetting episodes of Meri Gurya so far. The preview of the next episode suggested that Abida will meet an end similar to that of her friend. Shehnaz is surely not the kind of person who will let someone get away with something like this therefore I am surely looking forward to how she will fight for her daughter. Shehnaz’s character is extremely likeable and Sania Saeed’s performance is impressive as usual. The drama will only get better once the focus is entirely on the three central characters. Mohsin Abbas Haider and Sania Saeed owned their characters completely tonight and their performances were outstanding.

Yasir Hussain’s Statement Makes Awards vs Elections War Uglier!
Hum Awards are being held soon and most of our entertainment industry went to Canada for the event. Singer-Actor Farhan Saeed expressed his disappointment on this as he wanted more and more Pakistanis to vote. Imran Abbas also showed disappointment as he expressed his views:
Though he did not target anyone specifically, Yasir apparently took it to heart and had a very irrational reply:
Saheefa Jabbar also defended Pakistani stars who went to Toronto:
Ahmed Ali Butt also expressed his disappointment with the public response:
This war has turned really ugly. What are your thoughts on Yasir Hussain’s statement? Share your thoughts!
Mahira Khan Bashed For Not Voting In General Elections Due To Awards!
Pakistanis are deciding their fate today as they vote in the General Elections 2018. Many celebrities travelled to Canada for HUM Awards 2018, one of them is Mahira Khan. Mahira posted a status on Instagram as she regretted not being able to vote due to work commitments. She, however, urged other Pakistanis to go out and vote for Pakistan. Her statement didn’t settle with fellow Pakistanis and they criticized her on her excuse:
People were not really happy with the post:
Do you think Mahira should have stayed silent on the subject or was it a good move to urge others to go vote?
Teefa In Trouble – Film Review
Writers: Ali Zafar/ Ahsan Rahim/Danyal Zafar
Director: Ahsan Rahim
Producers: Ali Zafar & Ayesha Fazli (Lightingale Productions)
Cast: Ali Zafar, Maya Ali, Mehmood Aslam, Javed Sheikh, Sofia Khan, Faisal Qureshi, Nayyar Ejaz, Mah-e-Nur Haider, Seemi Raheal, Asma Abbas & others.
*SPOILER ALERT*
Teefa In Trouble is an action, comedy and romantic film which focuses primarily on the main protagonist Teefa, played by Ali Zafar, who is a Lahori gangster with fighting skills like that of a superhero. While Balu Mahi celebrated the beauty of Lahore, Teefah In Trouble makes the most of “Butt” and “Sheikh” jokes and can easily be termed as a mix of Punjab Nahi Jaungi, Balu Mahi and Na Maloom Afraad 2. When Teefa’s boss Butt Sahab, played immaculately by Mehmood Aslam, asks him to kidnap his friend’s daughter Anya (Maya Ali) from Poland so that he can get her married to his son, then that is when Teefa gets into trouble in many different ways. Anya belongs to a rich family but she is not happy with her life because she feels that her father (Javed Sheikh) gives more time to his business and step mother than her. She goes out looking for adventure on the day her father has planned her wedding and that’s when Teefa and Anya’s journey starts. This part of the film reminded me of Balu Mahi although the circumstances were different but it definitely had a been-there-seen-that feel to it. Like Punjab Nahi Jaungi, this is the story of a modern girl who ends up falling in love with a very desi munda!
The jokes have a Na Maloom Afraad and Actor In Law feel to them. The action however is the best part of the film and is something we haven’t seen in a Pakistani film yet; that is definitely a first! Some of the jokes are hilarious and they keep you entertained but there are also times when you need a break from the never- ending comic dialogues. Anya and Teefa’s journey is fun and happening but it isn’t convincing and heart-warming. Ali Zafar is absolutely brilliant as the action hero who doesn’t always have swag but definitely has the moves. Unfortunately, there is absolutely no on-screen chemistry between the leading actors because of which the romantic element of the film falls completely flat. Maya Ali is seen in a completely different avatar in the film, her ultra-modern look is nothing like the one she sports in dramas or is seen in otherwise. There are some scenes in which she looks exceptionally pretty but there are also a lot of scenes in which her make-up and overall look isn’t too impressive. Maya Ali is cute and likeable as the adventurous Anya but she doesn’t have the same screen presence which many of the other Pakistani actresses have on the big screen. The producers and writers deserve credit for giving this female protagonist plenty of screen time unlike Na Maloom Afraad in which the entire focus was on the male leads.
The action scenes are brilliantly directed and executed on screen, Ali Zafar truly impresses and the camera work is phenomenal. The romantic scenes however have done-to-death and mediocre written all over them. The visual representation of the songs too fails to impress. The songs have variation and they have been composed and sung beautifully but the picturization falls short especially when you compare it to Punjab Nahi Jaungi and Balu Mahi. The production house hasn’t invested a lot in giving the film a more visually pleasing look. Also, Teefa’s role is very desi but his overall look is inspired from Hollywood. However, As an actor and singer Ali Zafar has surely given this film everything he had. Javed Sheikh is turning out to be one of the most extraordinary actors in films who always leaves his mark. Mehmood Aslam played his role superbly too, his comic timing is impressive. Faisal Qureshi is a natural at doing comedy therefore it doesn’t come as a surprise that he fits perfectly in the role given to him. Mah-e-Nur Haider and Marhoom Ahmad Bilal are a pleasant and refreshing surprise in Teefa In trouble.
Teefa In Trouble’s producers managed to avoid an item number but the film overall has a modern feel to it. Teefa In Trouble could have been far more impressive if it was visually pleasing as well. The film drags in the end like many other recent films. Also, I wish Pakistani filmmakers would stop adding forced social messages in every film! Teefah In Trouble is an entertaining film but if you are looking for a solid plot which doesn’t defy logic and clichés then this is not the movie for you. If you want to watch an action film which will also make you laugh then Teefa In Trouble film is a must-watch!

Lashkara Episode 13 Review – Phenomenal x 10!
Wow! What an episode filled with such such such brilliant performances. It surely was a treat to watch & I found myself spell-bound, totally glued to the screen because I couldn’t take my eyes off it. Hats off to all the actors & the director for bringing out these emotions on-screen in such a real & convincing manner!
Feeka was only trying to help Bubbly but he didn’t know that his behavior with which he approached everything related to Bubbly will land him as well as her in deep trouble. Feeka just wanted everything in & around Bubbly’s life to be perfect, hence the haste. It was more like that he had set a task of outdoing himself every single time there was anything related to Bubbly, that is why just a mere mention of a loose hook of Bubbly’s chain made him restless. In front of Bubbly, Feeka wanted to be like that magician who fixed everything in a jiffy & that is why, he never really gave Bubbly a chance to just be. Obviously, it made Feeka a fantastic husband but then it also caused problems for Bubbly especially in a setting where someone was on a look out for a little window to throw a stone & destroy their picture perfect of a life.
All Bubbly did was request Nikki to give what belonged to her as she just wanted to stop Feeka from questioning her further as she knew she would run out of lies but then what happened was shocking. Feeka couldn’t stop himself from getting involved & then what Nikki did was unforgivably cruel. That moment where Bubbly, without even explaining herself walked out of that conversation was so upsetting, it just showed that all this while she was walking on eggshells but now she knew that it was not going to work. The way she just left showed that even she knew that she had lost the most precious thing in her life; her relationship with her husband.
One might definitely think that Feeka didn’t truly love Bubbly to blindly trust her, this is the thought that crossed my mind too but after hearing everything that Feeka had to say, it just got elaborated how he had such a low self-esteem, how he had zero confidence in himself because of which he easily accepted that Nikki was telling him the truth. Feeka didn’t doubt Bubbly, it’s just that he was so full of doubts about himself that he just couldn’t believe that Bubbly will stay loyal to him. The moment Feeka stood in front of the mirror with Bubbly, it just explained everything, it unveiled all the complexes, all those fears Feeka had ever since he got married to Bubbly where he knew that she was better than him in every single way yet she chose to become his wife. Then all this took me back to Feeka’s overall attitude with Bubbly; his enthusiasm, his keenness in dealing with everything related to her because in other words, by doing all of that he was compensating Bubbly for settling for a man like him, he was basically trying to make her so so so happy that even for once she doesn’t think that she got married to someone she didn’t deserve. So, basically Feeka didn’t mistrust Bubbly, all the doubts that he ever had just resurfaced making it easier for him to believe again that Bubbly didn’t deserve him & may be that is why she wanted an escape from the life where she had to live with a man like Feeka!
I must say I love these sorts of dramas where the writers build up the entire situation & use it as a stepping stone for the actual scenario. What happened in this episode & the way Feeka reacted made it easy for me to understand what he was saying & feeling as I immediately connected the dots & realized why he used to be this sort of a husband to Bubbly. He was just proving a point to himself as well as her – all the time. Beautifully written!
Another powerful scene that I loved was between Bubbly & Nasreen. Bubbly didn’t bother saying a word to Nikki because she knew she would not understand but I loved how she didn’t stay quiet in front of Nasreen & reminded her of the business deal that she did & the way she heartlessly treated her as a commodity. Bubbly didn’t want to say all of this but she did as Nasreen had the power & an authority to stop what was happening by telling Feeka the truth but she chose not to!
Well, Bubbly came back & only Saima could see that something was awfully wrong – things just weren’t right. I wish Kulsoom could see that too. Also, I am glad that the writer has shown this way of approaching the news of pregnancy, that it can be & should be celebrated but I am just wondering if it would have, in any way changed the dynamics of the story if Kulsoom had kept the news to herself? I am saying this because usually in such households this thing is definitely kept private especially in such initial stages. Also, Kulsoom didn’t get a confirmation from Bubbly first & based on an assumption she just went ahead, not only told her husband but announced it in the entire neighbourhood that Bubbly was expecting a child!?!?! Let’s see how this part will play out, apart from bringing regrets & shame Kulsoom’s way & more mental pressure Bubbly’s way.
I loved watching this episode, it is definitely a treat seeing such a well-written script acted & directed out such a brilliant way. I am definitely falling short of words for Ushna Shah, Mohsin Abbas Haider & the actress playing the role of Nikki, they literally blew the audience away with their phenomenal phenomenal phenomenal & effortless acting. Well done guys. Please share your thoughts!

Ishq Tamasha Episode 20 Review-On Repeat!
Watching this episode of Ishq Tamasha was like watching an episode from the very start all over again. Mirha is back at Chachi Jaan’s house and she has once again stated degrading her. Mirha is back to being an irrelevant orphan with her relatives putting her down in every second scene and she herself behaving like a slave. She has also started braiding her hair again and is out looking for a job.
The equation between Mirha and Wahaj is extremely unsettling too. He is proposing her and trying to patch up. While Mirha is giving out mixed signals like she would forgive him in the future. A man who assassinates your character does not have faith in your love and loyalty should be a given a clear shut up call. What kind of a girl is Mirha after all? She was bossing everyone around in a house where she was not related to anyone and she is being a slave in front of the people who destroyed her life and reputation. She knows she has to support herself and had considered going to a shelter in the past then why is she taking all this crap? Why tolerate Aqeela’s behaviour and not call her out on her own daughter’s missives.
Rushna is still playing games like the very first day. She is constantly blaming Mirha for Mehrab’s rude behaviour. She knows Arham is dead and she is still blaming Mirha, she must have used some common sense and figured out that a person whose brother you had an affair with will naturally not warm up to you. Aqeela is her accomplice in every plan and she is trying to win over Mehrab with English food “Pasta” (which is Italian), thus showing lack of common sense again.
This episode again hinted about Mehrab’s feelings for Mirha. He must have taken a stand by marrying her and providing her security when she was aimlessly wandering in his house. He is not really giving a shut up call to Rushna which she deserves.
Palwasha track is a total drag and maybe they are trying to make 2 or 3 more episodes out of it. All in all, we are back to square one with bechari Mirha at Aqqela’s house, Rushna running after her fantasies and a clueless spineless Wahaj.

Visaal Episode 17 Review – The Revelation!
Ohkay so, this episode marked the turning point in the story & things are going to get even more interesting as all the characters will be pushed to their limits & we will see the new reactions amidst the chaos!
Pari got rejected as per Akram’s plan because the suitor & his family got to know about Pari’s stained character & all that happened in her life in the past from someone. Akram thought he did score a win because everything unfolded just the way he wanted to. Akram surely took the help of the best, who he knew would make sure that everything happens according to his wishes & Khala took the job assigned to her quite seriously. I must say, the conversation between Akram & Khala was quite amusing & what made it even better were their expressions.
Pari was struggling, pretty much what she has been doing ever since Taimur walked in & out of her life. To add more to her woes, she got rejected & this time around even Molvi Ghufran felt dejected thinking about all the hardships that life was throwing her way. Molvi & his wife were unable to figure out who was behind all this but I am just wondering if they will ever learn the truth about Akram being responsible for all this?
Well, Naheed was unhappy, she was furious, at Pari who gave in & then at her mother who just wanted to get rid of Pari. Naheed’s reaction after finding out everything was basically because she felt helpless while still feeling guilty as she knows that she is responsible for everything to have ever gone wrong in Pari’s life till date. Despite wanting to, Naheed found herself helpless as she couldn’t help Pari the way she would have liked, also, she just couldn’t cope up with the burden that she had on her heart, especially now that she was getting to see the consequences of her doing!
Akram finally confessed everything in front of Naheed. He thought he will be able to win it by pressurizing Naheed as he had this huge secret in his hand against her to blackmail & threathen her. Akram actually thought things would work in his favor but I guess he surely underestimated Naheed. Naheed is someone who can go to any extreme, she has done it before by stabbing her best friend the way she never would have imagined, so it is so expected that she can go to another extreme too by ruining her own life to at least save Pari’s from getting ruined further. Akram probably failed to understand that & he thought that Naheed will stay quiet in fear of being exposed but little does he know that Naheed most probably doesn’t care anymore. She has felt guilty for way too long so this will probably serve as a push & pave a way for her to do something to compensate for the pain that Pari has endured because of her. It was quite interesting to see how Akram approached this entire matter, I guess he got carried away a bit too soon whereas if he had played this game a little more wisely, he would have controlled Naheed the way he wanted to. I guess because Akram riled Naheed up & because he let her know that he is well aware of what she did, that will push Naheed to confess about her wrongdoings. Naheed was only quiet all this while because she assumed that nobody knew about what she did but now when she found out that Akram knows what she did, she wouldn’t care much!
This drama is super intense & interesting plus I also like how at times it is super fun & amusing too. I love the background score they have used in Akram’s scenes, it fits & goes so well with the mood & intentions of Akram. This drama surely is an intelligent piece of work in terms of writing, direction & acting. Please share your thoughts!

Main Khayal Hoon Kisi Aur Ka Episode 4 And 5 Review-The Non-Marriage Marriage!
A good thing happened in Main Khayal Hoon Kisi Aur Ka when they showed the procedure of divorce. It didn’t end in a second and they showed how there are laws and rules for such a big transition in anyone’s life. Dania finally knows that she is not divorced. Arman who was constantly being the whinny boy actually proved himself to be a whinny boy. He did not even sign the divorce papers and all the time he was trying to get Dania to move out on him. Dania cried for days, went to see a lawyer but did not see the divorce papers. Why? This is a mystery that will never be answered.
Things were about to go uphill. But Arman’s father came up with the honeymoon idea. And like any normal couple who wants to take a break to work on their relationship, who tries to patch things up, Arman and Dania did not do that. They go out and instead of booking another room in the hotel with Arman’s baap ka paisa and hide things comfortably, they decide to live on the streets of Islamabad. It has become a confusion for me that how Dania really is? In an effort to make her look helpless, they have made her look plain DUMB! First of all, there is a hostel who is not helping their student because she is married? Kahan paye jate hain ye hostels? Why are they not banned yet? Well, our sweet, too innocent Dania goes off with someone she does not know to an unknown place. Maybe Dania does not watch television or use social media, the kind of confidence this girl has depicted that. The worst parts were the scenes after Dania was caught up in that brothel. Hareem should have looked more worried in those scenes. She looked too chill for such a scenario. The emotions were so weakly portrayed in the scenes that they seemed like a joke.
Another DUMBO is Arman, how can anyone, man or woman drop a girl off to someplace and does not wait for her to get in? Bacha UK ka kamm, Mars ka zyada laga iss baat pe. Crimes against women are not only confined to South Asia or Pakistan to be more specific. They happen all over the world with a very huge frequency and even children know about this these days. Arman being a grown up should have known that. And his whole Abb kya karna hai infront of his friend was out of this world ridiculous. Alamdar is extremely weak in the dialogue department but his expressions were even worse in this one. A guy whose wife is missing should look worried like he is going to die in his next breath and not like he has lost his candy bar.
Ali Rehman Khan is still playing a supporting role. His lead characteristics have not started appearing yet. Rucksar Naaz also showed up but it was just her introduction yet and we will have to watch further to know how she performs.
This non-marriage marriage has become too twisted to be handled nicely. Let’s see how they are going to treat a scenario of a girl reaching a brothel as this should be handled sensitively and not forgotten like it never happened.

Kayseria & Bareeze Get Backlash After Waleed Zaman’s Remarks On Harassment
After Nueplex protesters gathered in Lahore too to protest against Ali Zafar and sexual harassment. While the protesters chanted “Boycott Ali Zafar” outside Cinestar Lahore Kayseria’s creative director Waleed Zaman showed up there to watch the movie. A video soon started circulating where a protester asks Waleed why he is watching Teefa in Trouble and he replies “Because we support sexual harassment of women.” He said that on record not once not twice but three times and every time he raised his hands as he said so.
There’s a protest outside Cinestar Lahore against sexual harasser Ali Zafar’s movie Teefa. Waleed Zaman, son of Bareeze’s owner, creative director of Kayseria brand, walks in saying “we support sexual harassment of women” Privileged men who think they can get away with anything. pic.twitter.com/2Ld7erccZP

Later the creative director of Kayseria and son of Bareeze’s owner Hameed Zaman; Waleed Zaman issued a statement where he claimed that he said this because he was upset as his wife was being harassed and threatened by the protesters. While the video clearly shows none of the said “harassment” happened.

Soon after this Boycott Kayseria and Bareeze hashtags started appearing to show the privileged lot that their actions come with consequences.

Bareeze.
Kayseria.
Chinyere.
Shahnameh.
Minnie Minors.
Super Squad.
Leisure Club.
These are the brands associated with Waleed Zaman’s fam. Hit them where it hurts.— kashaf asim (@kashafasim) July 21, 2018
If this is how privileged and well educated lot of Pakistan thinks then what hope do we have for common unprivileged and uneducated people. Kayseria’s upper management not only needs to take serious actions after Waleed Zaman’s insensitive remarks it also needs to show how there is accountability of each person’s actions irrespective of their social status if they want to maintain the integrity of the brand because after all Kayseria is a WOMEN clothing brand, such mentality should be dealt with zero tolerance policy.
Have anything to add?
