Ehd e Wafa is one of the most popular dramas on air right now. It is one such drama which captured the interest of the drama audience even before it aired. The affiliation and association with Pakistan Army played a huge part in getting the viewers excited for Ehd e Wafa and the star cast also contributed a lot to the anticipation. It has been on air for 15 weeks and along the journey, the writer Mustafa Afridi has imparted a lot of great lessons for the viewers. All the scenes related to Army and Cadet life cast a spell on the audience.
The new song of Ehd e Wafa has been released and it shows what’s coming ahead. It is filled with the clips which show the different journey 4 members of SSG are going to embark on. The scenes which have caught the attention definitely have to be of Saad (Ahad Raza Mir) and Dua (Alizeh Shah). We will also be getting to see more of Shehryar and Shariq. We are also glad that the Army scenes are going to get intense in the upcoming episodes.

Model turned actress Emaan Suleman has finally tied the knot with Syed Jamil Haider Rizvi. The model took to Instagram to post a beautiful picture of herself and beau Jamil, captioning the post, “We mehrams now.”
Take a look at the pictures below;
Back in Novemner, Emaan had announced her wedding in a rather humorous and unconventional post on her social media. “So yes, Jamil and I are getting married. Looking forward to our time together. Until death or divorce do us part,” Emaan had written on her Instagram announcement post.
Tonight’s episode of Mere Pass Tum Ho had some new developments and there were a lot of scenes which were repetitive. Just like the past few episodes, this one too focused on bewafai and whether an unfaithful partner should be forgiven or not. Danish clearly thinks that Mehwish does not deserve forgiveness. Salman and Ayesha’s dialogues were confusing since they clearly wanted Danish to take Mehwish back when it is just not possible. Shehwar and Maham’s scene was intriguing. It seems like Rumi isn’t the only one who doesn’t understand the meaning of ‘divorce’.
Rumi’s Dialogues and Situations
I must say that watching a 6 year old kid talk about attempted suicide was more disturbing than all the matchmaking attempts by Rumi. Shees Sajjad Gul is absolutely adorable and his acting has been impressive but Rumi’s role in this episode was extremely hard to digest. Through these scenes, the writer helped the viewers understand the feelings of different characters but Rumi’s scenes really irked me. The way this 6 year old is left unattended and misses his parents should have been the focus of attention because this part of Rumi’s track actually shows how divorce impacts children. Rumi’s fascination with his teacher is understandable but the way he keeps on changing his mind makes him come across as a really disturbed child who is constantly trying to take control of situations which should be handled by adults. This makes me wonder if some of Rumi’s scenes were added later because the viewers find his interactions with his father in particular cute.
Shehwar and Maham
Shehwar and Maham’s scene was interesting. It was almost as if Maham thought that putting Shehwar behind bars wasn’t enough – he deserved worse. The explanation she gave Shehwar and what she had said to Mehwish earlier clearly suggested that she wanted to make Shehwar suffer on her terms and conditions. The look on Shehwar’s face was priceless when Maham told him what are plans were! He is clearly scared and completely unsure what Maham is going to do next. These scenes also suggested that Maham might give Shehwar a death sentence – is she going to kill him? So far, Maham keeps you guessing, it is difficult to predict what her next move will be. Savera Nadeem and Adnan Siddiqui both acted superbly in this scene. It was also directed brilliantly, the flashback scenes and the present scenario showed just how much things had changed in the past few months.
More of Rumi
There was an overdose of Salman and Ayesha’s scenes in this episode and most of these scenes didn’t have anything new to offer. Salman and Ayesha have been pleading Mehwish’s case as if Danish and Mehwish are not divorced. This entire ‘experience’ has been quite ‘educational’ for Rumi – he has learned about divorce, he has heard his mom say that Hania is his dad’s girlfriend, he has learned to propose on his father’s behalf and last but definitely not the least he knows that if you cut your vein you can die! Rumi is the one most affected by his parents’ divorce yet that is not being shown as an issue at all. On the contrary, Rumi’s dialogues and scenes are supposed to be entertaining. There is nothing entertaining about a 6 year old acting like an adult!
Favorite Scene
My favorite scene from tonight’s episode was the conversation between Danish and Mehwish. Mehwish was always just as naive as she was greedy. This conversation basically showed that she had not grown as an individual. Mehwish still thinks she can mould relationships, stay in someone’s life and leave whenever it suits her. My favorite dialogue from this scene was, “dekho meri ankhoon mein ansoo aa gaye aur tumhare liye rona mujhe acha nahi lagta.” This was such a meaningful dialogue which showed why Danish does not want any interaction with Mehwish. Danish is done investing his feelings in this relationship. There couldn’t have been a better way to get the message across to the viewers. Humayun Saeed does exceptionally well in such emotional scenes. Mehwish buying the flat was yet another development which depicted how immature she still was. If Danish wanted to buy the flat, he could have conveniently done so. Monty’s inviting Mehwish for tea was actually funny! Yes, he is married now but he obviously finds it really hard to just ignore Mehwish!
All of Mehwish’s scene tonight showed how regretful she was. She cried in almost all the scenes and her dialogues suggested she wanted the life she once lived with Danish back. When Mehwish left Shehwar’s house, she was immediately looking for a job but now her sole purpose in life is to get back into Danish and Rumi’s life/house!
Final Remarks
Iqra Aziz and Yasir Hussain’s announcement of making an appearance in this episode was obviously yet again marketing strategy. The producers added the promo of Jhooti to the drama itself but that obviously had nothing to do with this episode or Mere Pass Tum Ho. The next episode was supposed to be the last one but the promo of the upcoming episode suggested that it is going to be the second last episode. Mere Pass Tum Ho has been an emotional and powerful journey overall but tonight’s episode wasn’t the best one. Just like every week however, it had a few good scenes and dialogues but overall there was a lot of repetition. I am not rooting for Hania and Danish at all! Definitely waiting to see how this drama ends.

How is it possible that every single episode of Alif leaves its viewers spellbound & emotional? I think Pakistani drama buffs should be thankful to Umera Ahmed, Haseeb Hassan, the producers & then all the actors who have teamed up to bring Alif to our TV screens because they have not only created magic but have compelled the viewers to think, analyze & ask questions. This was yet another brilliant episode of Alif, it was emotional, it showed the contrast between lives where someone is touching the skies & someone else is engulfed in loneliness & misery. Alif brings human emotions to life on screen in such an articulate manner that it leaves you speechless. Absolutely brilliant.
Momina’s Success
Momina’s personal life has a huge baggage to it, the loss of her brother & the fact that her parents still have not moved on. I find this portrayal very realistic, they were still not coping well with Jahangir’s loss that they actually had to change their home & leave the one which held all the memories they made with Jahangir. This change in the long run is definitely going to be beneficial for them but at this moment, their hesitancy in accepting the change & the new house denoted the fact that they were grevious of the fact that in this new chapter of their lives, they won’t have Jahangir around. The fact that Sultan immediately found a spot for all of Jahangir’s pictures & accolades was emotional, it showed that he still wanted to dedicate a place to Jahangir no matter where he went, because even if Jahangir is no more, he is very much going to be a part of their lives as long as they live. Momina tries really hard to help her parents overcome Jahangir’s death but she often just lets them be because she can’t muster up the courage to tell them to move on. This emotion has been brilliantly portrayed by Sajal Aly in every single episode, she always shows how Momina is also grievous but is putting up a brave face only for her parents, but then gets disappointed when she sees that no matter what she does, she remains unsuccessful in her attempts. I feel for her a lot.
Momina unlocked another achievement where she scored herself an Oscar award. I love how they always show Momina being in touch with her spirituality, always finding solace in the recitation of Holy Quran, away from the noise of her success & the world around. Momina knows the price she has paid & how much she has lost to be where she is. I think this is also a commendable effort by the writer to show the actors in a more humane & relatable spot. Quite often people judge the actors & assume they are only doing everything wrong or are only running behind the worldly success but Momina’s character shows them in a very different light. There’s Momina, who is stepping on one level of success after another but no one sees her for who she is. No one knows her, or the fact that she is a calligrapher herself who loves to maintain her relationship with Allah & His Book. Just a very different way of perspective alteration & Umera Ahmed deserves all the credit for that.
Qalb e Momin’s Struggles:
It was definitely a much needed change in Qalb e Momin’s scenario where they covered the struggles of his professional life at this stage. No one was ready to work with him. Abdul Alla’s suggestion of financing his movie for him through his paintings was absolutely sweet. He wanted to support Qalb e Momin in everything that he did, this was something he confessed before too & he was standing by what he said. In this moment of loneliness, Abdul Alla’s supportive words healed Qalb e Momin & gave him some encouragement that he was looking for. Qalb e Momin is slowly & steadily learning about the superficiality of the world that he is associated with, this is the reason why he is finding himself getting detached from it as the days are passing by.
I don’t know about others but I am definitely going to mourn the loss of Abdul Alla for weeks to come. Why did he die? All the scenes covering Qalb e Momin’s misery after the departure of Abdul Alla were brilliantly shown & acted phenomenally by Hamza Ali Abbasi. Momin finally learned more about Abdul Alla but unfortunately it was too late. All this while I was wondering about all the things Momin would be wanting to ask his grandfather but sadly, he will never be able to have a conversation with him again. Once again, Qalb e Momin was full of regrets, he regretted not knowing about the success that his humble Dada Jaan achieved in his life, he regretted misbehaving with him, he regretted losing him & in the end, Qalb e Momin was once again lonely. He has lost his father, his mother & now his grandfather too. The famous Qalb e Momin is lonely, he is an orphan who has no one by his side. I feel for him too.
The Prayer:
Qalb e Momin has finally acknowledged the fact that he went astray. He lost his path & forgot about his Creator. Acknowledging the problem is the very first step of making amends & Qalb e Momin is finally ready for it. The dua scene was so powerful, it was spellbinding, impactful & just perfect. In most parts of this episode, Hamza Ali Abbasi did not have much dialogues, he just had to act & convery the emotions & feelings through his expressions & he was phenomenal in all of those scenes. The very last scene was the highlight of this episode & it left me overwhelmed. Sheer brilliance!
Sultan wants to get in touch with Qalb e Momin. I think he doesn’t know that the famous director Momin is Qalb e Momin because everyone around him has only referred to him as Momin. Be it Daood, Tina, Shakoor, Neha or Shelly. He is known as Momin & in all of the scenes, either Momin has referred to himself with his full name or it was Abdul Alla who preferred calling him Qalb e Momin, therefore not many people know his real name. This is the reason why Momina was forced to think about the possibility that may be Qalb e Momin was the son of Husn e Jahan that Sultan was talking about. I am sure this is the reasoning behind Sultan not knowing who Momin is, otherwise he would’ve known himself, considering he has been involved in Husn e Jahan & everything related to her, all his life.
Alif Is Magic:
This episode was emotionally charged & absolutely beautiful. Alif has allowed viewers to not only experience a unique storyline but also come across such brilliant acting where every single actor is doing justice to their characters & elevating the level of this drama. Sajal Aly, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Saleem Mairaj, Lubna Aslam as well as all the supporting actors who are playing the characters of Jhumar, Daood and Tina have given their 100% to this drama. Every scene is skillfully brought together, be it the art direction, aesthetically pleasing locations and spaces, angles, camera work, lighting, background scores, everything is just brilliant and adds more charm to the drama watching experience. I am sure the prayer scene is going to stay with me for a long long time, it was a work of art & just took me to another world. Alif is magical. The preview is already making me look forward to the next episode, I can’t wait for Momin to get in touch with Master Ibrahim & then Sultan to learn more about Abdul Alla as well as his mother, it sure is going to be an interesting journey. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Alif.

Pakistani dramas set themselves apart from the dramas produced all around the World due to their quality content. Pakistani dramas have always been popular because of realistic stories portrayed in such a manner that it made it easier for the viewers to relate to what was being shown. The 8pm hour has always been the time where the families came together and watched Pakistani dramas. Almost all over the country, every single family’s dinner routine has included watching a drama together, discussing it and then looking forward to the next episode. Pakistani dramas have always been seen as family entertainment which has maintained a certain level of decency.
With the advancement of media and the emergence of more channels, the drama makers ended up producing a lot of dramas to attract the viewership and earn ratings. This rat-race ended up causing a dent on the image of Pakistani dramas because there came a time when the producers stopped worrying about the quality of the content and shifted their focus on ratings. This resulted in the emergence of such dramas which were bold in nature and included such scenes which made it hard for families to watch them together. The drama makers defended this nature of work by stating that they are bringing tabooed topics which do not get discussed openly but the audience let them know clearly that this kind of content was not what they tuned to their TV screen’s for.
A few years ago, Pakistani dramas saw a deterioration in the quality of the content which compromised upon the moral and ethical values of the Pakistani society. The producers showed the kind of scenes which sensationalized and glamorized questionable scenarios. After these kind of dramas stopped getting response from the viewers, the drama makers were discouraged and then came a time when they started holding back in showing such kind of scenes and subjects in the dramas.
Let’s take a look at the bold Pakistani dramas that could not be watched with the family:
Chup Raho
Chup Raho was promoted as a story of a rape victim who was a survivor but as the drama progressed, it showed the drama maker’s obsession with the rapist and how they sensationalized such a heinous crime. This drama was laden with such bold scenes where Sajal Aly was manhandled and Syed Jibran harassed her constantly. The drama makers glamorized the rapist’s character and showed him in such a light that he had everything under control. Even after he was busted and his secret was out, no one dared say anything to him. Chup Raho was controversial and it showed that a rapist is not only powerful but can not be stopped no matter what. All of the scenes in Chup Raho were hard to grasp and were so bold that it made it hard to watch this drama with the family.
Kitni Girhain Baqi Hain
Kitni Girhain Baqi Hain has often come under fire because of the subjects they dramatize. They put a light on the issues that are faced by men and women in the society but always try to sensationalize in such a manner that those tabooed topics are hard to grasp. The scenes in this series are always bold and suggestive. Kitni Girhain Baqi Hain caused an uproar when they tried to normalize a romantic relationship between women. This is most certainly not the kind of drama that can be seen with your family.
Jaanam
Jaanam was a story of a husband and wife but the drama makers took it as their duty to show what happens between the couple in their personal space. This drama focused on the physical desires, therefore there were such scenes where a man is ogling at a female house servant. The story of this drama was cliched and this kind of execution did not help either. Jaanam was bold and was the kind of drama that was done in poor taste.
Shert
Shert was a story of 4 best friends and these friends were married, dividing them into two couples. The story of Shert was a halala story where in the heat of the moment Syed Jibran divorces his wife Aisha Khan, they both then devise a plan of getting Aisha married to Danish Taimoor (who is already married), so that when he divorces her, she can go back to her first husband. This drama was not only bold, it had a lot of such scenes which involved a lot of physical contact between the actors such as pecking on the forehead and unnecessary hugging. The drama makers tried really hard to normalize this trend but still failed to attract the viewership. This drama was unsightly, unnecessary bold and poorly executed.
Rishte Kuch Adhoore Se
Rishte Kuch Adhoore Se was controversial and bold. It was a story of two sisters where the younger one has her nikkah with her sister’s fiance. The mother of the girls can not tell the truth to their father, therefore the elder daughter Sohai Ali Abro is forced to live with her fiance as his wife, out of wedlock. As a result of this scenario, she ends up getting pregnant but loses the illegitimate child. The husband Ali Rehman also does not accept Yumna Zaidi as his wife and they go on about their lives. This was the kind of drama that was the first that the viewers saw. It grabbed the attention but for all the wrong reasons.
Band Khirkiyon Ke Peeche
Band Khirkiyon Ke Peeche aired when the American series Desperate Housewives went on air and became popular. Band Khirkiyon Ke Peeche was drama maker’s attempt of recreating Desperate Housewives in a Pakistani setting. It showed a group of friends in their 40’s dealing with their messed up relationships where one was unhappy in her marriage, the other was dating a guy younger to her and one of them was also having an illegitimate affair with a young boy and paying him to be with her. Band Khirkiyon Ke Peeche was heavily criticized and was definitely the kind of drama that made the viewers uncomfortable. It showed women in a liberal setting where they did not believe in any limitations or boundaries.
Mere Khuda
Mere Khuda was produced when the craze of Turkish dramas took Pakistani audience by storm. Mere Khuda was a recreation of different scenarios lifted by Turkish dramas. It was dramatic but done in bad taste. It covered details like DNA reports because the bride gets kidnapped at the night of her wedding. The husband Agha Ali finds it hard to accept her but then ends up consummating their marriage to temper the DNA reports. It was poorly and boldly executed, definitely not the drama worth watching, let alone with the family.
Bunty I Love You
Bunty I Love You did grab the interest of the viewers due to its storyline but it was definitely bold in nature. This drama also had some scenes which could easily be termed as vulgar. It showed how a woman older to a man wanted to win him over and the kind of tactics she opts for only to make him love her were hard to grasp. Bunty I Love You showed illegitimate affairs and people crossing the thin line of decency easily. It was most certainly not the kind of drama that could be seen with the family.
Sadqay Tumhare
Sadqay Tumhare ended up becoming one of the most popular dramas of the year when it aired but the fact can not be overlooked that it had the kind of content and story line which made the viewers uncomfortable watching it with their families. As much as the love story of Khalil and Shano was appreciated, viewers also found it very hard to digest the dirty laundry that the writer showed of his family where people had crossed the line of decency before their marriage. There were also a few suggestive scenes which made this drama bold and not something that could be watched with the family. This is the reason that despite being popular, Sadqay Tumhare also grabbed a lot of negative attention as well.
This concludes the list of bold dramas that can not be watched with the family. Have you seen these dramas? What are your thoughts about the bold scenes in these dramas? Please feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Ohkay so, I guess the only good thing about this episode is the fact that it has drawn the ending of this drama closer. It is absurd that the drama makers actually assumed that dragging a story like Ishq Zahe Naseeb would be a great idea. Guess what, the charm that this drama once had has been killed. I am just waiting to see how it ends & going by the preview, if they actually kill Sameer’s character, then I will definitely see it as a time wasted.
Unconvincing Situations:
In Ishq Zahe Naseeb, both Sami Khan & Zarnish Khan got a chance to showcase their acting skills & they made the most of this opportunity. Both Sami & Zarnish have performed brilliantly in this drama, however, their characters have absolutely lost the charm they once had. It is unfortunate that in the khichri of Shakira/Surraya/Sameer/Sameera, the writer started treating Kashif & Donia as an afterthought because their characters have got nothing to offer. Kashif is a one-dimensional, halat ka mara bechara & Donia, the girl who had so much happening for herself, had that sass, ended up becoming a victim of self-imposed misery. Before getting engaged to Kashif, Donia exactly knew that he was in love with someone, so how does it matter if that girl happens to be Gauhar & she has found about it now? Donia has blamed Gauhar for being equally responsible in betraying & deceiving Donia, which is bizarre. Donia knew what she was getting into, she was mature enough to asses that Kashif was never into her, so why is she reacting? To be honest, as much as Zarnish’s acting has been nice, this entire twist is uncalled for & so unnecessary that I find it boring!
This episode of Ishq Zahe Naseeb contributed a lot to the noise pollution in Pakistan. The merging of one soundtrack into the other was also so poorly done that instead of adding some depth or emotions in the situation, it ended up being such a big distraction. In the scene where Sameer read Gauhar’s letter, I could barely hear him because of the annoyingly loud music. Sameer himself saw Sabeeha having an argument with Gauhar while assassinating her character & instead of stepping into that situation to save Gauhar from Sabeeha’s accusations, Sameer found the time to hallucinate. The very next day, Sameer seemed shocked when Noorah told him that Gauhar left after having an argument with Sabeeha, it was made to look like as if Sameer had no idea about it happening!?!?! I am sure even the director is confused & can not keep up between the switching of the scenes that he ended up making such a basic mistake. Director saab please end this drama, we have had enough & I am sure you’ve had enough too!
I don’t find Sabeeha or wouldn’t even find Sameer wrong if they react on Gauhar’s unannounced trips to outdoors. She got married into such a family which has always been very sophisticated & has followed a proper schedule as well as decorum for everything, so for Gauhar to just go in & out of the house out of her whim, that too without informing anyone does raise a lot of questions on her. Gauhar has always been someone who was conscious about her surroundings, the people around her, so for her to just do what she deems right, without informing her husband obviously means she is going to invite troubles her way, that too when she knows that Sabeeha’s on her case & is looking for reasons to throw her out of the house.
Sameer found out about Gauhar & Kashif. Jahangir & Sabeeha met & devised this plan – this entire situation did not interest me at all. What difference does it make & why can’t Sameer, like an adult speak to Gauhar about it & find out everything? Obviously she must have some explanation to give too? It was amusing that in this entire episode, there was not even a single interaction between the husband & wife, the only time Gauhar spoke to Sameer was through a letter – Bye Bye Whatsapp! Funny that Gauhar has been in contact with Kashif over the phone but when it comes to Sameer, she chose to write him a letter…logic!
Two things were made clear in this episode. One being that Shakira thought her son had passed away, that is why she did all of that to Sameer, it was kind of a revenge on Ehsan to mess the brains of his only son. Second, that the wheelchair ridden lady was Surraya, Sameer’s biological mother who dramatically passed away the moment Sameer came to see her! I am sorry but I really don’t know how to react on this because instead of feeling for her or Sameer or Akbar or finding this entire situation emotional, I ended up having a good laugh. May be the direction of that scene or the brief that the actor was given was funny, but I had a great time laughing my heart out. Yes, I think this is how the viewers end up taking a drama non-seriously when they drag it so much, plus the 4 commercial breaks weren’t helping either. Once again, good that Sameer has gotten clarity about Sabeeha but how is it going to do him any favors psychologically, he is quite disturbed already, isn’t he?
I feel it was unlike Gauhar that she decided to leave only because she had a spat with Sabeeha? Gauhar was not paying heed to her anyways & she was only focused on taking care of Sameer, so what happened there? I found this decision of Gauhar quite irrational & the entire situation unconvincing. It is quite obvious that even the drama makers are finding it hard to wrap this drama up, that is why most of the situations are not making much sense & are just being pushed to the limit.
Just End It:
The preview of the next episode suggested that may be Sameer will end up shooting himself or the trigger will be pulled by Gauhar by mistake, which means we’ll get to see the scene shown in the promos of Gauhar being dragged by the police & lying in the prison telling Kashif that she killed him. I think may be Sameer won’t die but Gauhar will assume that she killed him. The relationship that started off on a note of good communication was compromised due to unconvincing half-baked scenarios, it just does not make much sense. My only wish is to see this drama end because I am sure the viewers just like me have had enough. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Ishq Zahe Naseeb.
Badar Khalil is a name that needs no introduction. One of the very first faces of the Pakistan drama industry and one of the most veteran actresses of all times, Badar Khalil is a legend. A force to reckon with, Badar Khalil has given to this industry so much that its hard to account for.
In a recent interview with Samina Pirzada, the veteran actress opened up about bidding farewell to the industry and how she had been spending time after her retirement as she called it.
However, the most important highlight of the interview was Badar Khalil opening up about the incident which made her quit the television industry she absolutely adored.
Talking about the heart wrenching incident where Badar Khalil was humiliated at the hands of Sultana Siddiqui of Hum TV, the veteran actress opened up emotionally.
“I didn’t want that Life Time Achievement award but I wanted respect. Whatever you give me will be my respect but she didn’t. I was hurt. That thing cause me heartache. Had she talked to me politely, I would have even forgotten that thing because I was so preoccupied but whatever happened did hurt me a lot. It made me sad,” said Badar Khalil calling the incident very unfair.
Badar Khalil also commented on the careless attitudes of the actresses of today who didn’t care about the script even a little.”They walk in to the sets in their night suits with their cups of coffee in their hands and then inquire about their scripts. When we used to act, we rehearsed and memorized each and everything by heart.”
“We didn’t work for fame, success or money, we did it to try something new whenever we took up a project,” added the veteran actress.
Badar Khalil also shared about her life back in Canada and how she had devoted her time to reading books and gaining as much new knowledge as possible.
It is fair to say star-studded drama serial, Mere Paas Tum Ho has won the hearts of the audience. The role of Hania which is played by Hira Mani was first offered to someone else.
Renowned actress Urwa Hocane in an interview revealed that she was offered the role of Hania but she rejected it. Urwa Hocane even shot a few episodes of Mere Paas Tum Ho.
“I was playing Hania and had shot for a couple of days. But then we moved Tich Button to Nankana Sahib where we had put up a huge set and I just couldn’t get myself out of there. It was very unfortunate, more so because I ended up making Nadeem Baig really upset along with the other production houses,” said Urwa Hocane.
Urwa Hocane added that after completing the shooting of the film Tich Button, she later apologized to Nadeem Baig.

“Filming the last few scenes of the last episode of “Mere Paas Tum Ho”. What a thrilling and educating experience this has been. Still remember the day- when the script was offered to me and I was in two minds as to how the audience would react and accept my character… but where ever I travelled and even in Pakistan my character received a fantastic responce.
Not only me, but all the characters were appreciated and after long I’ve worked in a drama where all the characters were equally strong. The direction was upto the mark, engaging dialogues and story line, title song – in short one of the rare drama’s that had everything going for it in the right direction.
Was a lifetime experience and I’m going to miss shooting for it.
But as we say, the show must go on. Upwards and onwards to 2020 and may be more such drama’s.

An old video of Prime Minister Imran Khan is circulating on social media, in which he is giving an interview to an Indian channel. In that video, the former cricketer revealed that Dev Anand, a renowned actor asked him to act in a film in 2006.
“You won’t believe it but I was once asked by a brilliant Indian actor who we all look up to, to act in one of his upcoming films. In fact, he even turned up in England to request me, but I was puzzled,” said Imran Khan.
In the beginning, Imran Khan did not reveal the name of the actor who asked him for the film but when the host repeatedly asked him he confirmed it was Dev Anand.
“For me it’s strange, to think that just because I’m a cricketer, doesn’t mean I can be an actor as well. It doesn’t make sense to me.”
What do you think Imran Khan can act in a movie or not? Let us know in the comments section.
Year 2020 has just started therefore this a good time to look at the last decade to see what went on in Pakistan. There were some events so historic that they will be never forgotten by people who lived through them. Some of the personalities from entertainment and political world gave people so much to talk about. There were others who constantly entertained people for some reason or the other. Some moments were captured on camera and went viral even though that is not what the people involved wanted. These were the historic moments which changed things for good and sometimes in a bad way for some people. These were the events and occurrences which went viral. There are very few things so historic that they leave their mark forever. The last decade had a lot of such events. These events shaped up people’s careers for better or for worse.
Here are the top 20 historic events of the decade.
Ayesha Sana Bright Karein Ise
Ayesha Sana’s video showing her shouting at her morning show’s crew because her face did not look pretty/bright enough for the camera is something which people will never forget. This year people saw many faces of Pakistani celebrities from behind the scenes but this one definitely topped the list. Ayesha Sana’s bright karein was mocked and ridiculed on every single forum. The way she shouted at her team was simply unbelievable. For the longest time Ayesha Sana did not like all this unwanted attention but later on after years of ridicule, she decided it was time to own it!! This was definitely one such historic moment of this decade which was shocking and unforgettable.
Aamir Liaquat’s Claim To Fame
Aamir Liaquat came to the limelight with his show Aalim Online. Initially he was seen as a religious figure who was eloquent in his speech and had clarity in his thoughts. Few of Aamir Liaquat’s videos went viral soon after he was at the peak of his career. In these behind the scenes viral videos people saw a side of this so-called Aalim which shocked them. He was uncouth and used abusive language in these videos. After that, Aamir Liaquat got into one controversy after the other. His second marriage made him more controversial than ever. Now too Aamir Liaquat is changing his image. He has to be one person who was continuously been in the news in this decade for all the wrong reasons. All these events however did not deter him since his confidence is as intact as ever! He clearly enjoys all the attention he gets irrespective of what kind of attention it is.
The Unconventional Ads Going Viral
Making good commercials which grab the attention of the viewers is no easy feat. Waseem Hassan Sheikh who was behind all those ‘excuse me app bhi’ commercials became an instant hit. His style was nowhere near conventional. Most people also made fun of the ads he made but one thing was for sure that whenever he made a new commercial, it was everywhere. He became a social media sensation instantly. People found his wit and humor interesting as well. His creations were a one man show, something he was particularly proud of. With a low budget he provided companies with attention-grabbing commercials which were definitely a big part of this decade.

His speeches made people wonder how he was running a political party and who were these people who sat down to hear him speak.
Sahir Lodhi Questioning The Demi-Gods
Sahir Lodhi’s outburst after his debut film Raasta got some really bad reviews was one of the most historic moments of this decade. Most people found his overacting in the video confronting the so-called demi-gods hilarious. Others thought it was a cheap tactic to get some attention from the public. Sahir Lodhi has always been hated more than he has been loved. He copies Shah Rukh Khan yet he denies it, he wants to relate to his desi fans but can’t let go of his wannabe gora image, which he tries hard to portray. This year Sahir Lodhi made history by confronting all the haters but unfortunately nothing changed for him!
Imran Khan’s Historic Dharnas
Imran Khan set a new trend this year by arranging a kind of political protest which was unlike any other. With celebrities joining the dharna, they became as much of a festive affair as they were a political one. These dharnas were historic because Pakistanis had never seen such political show of strength before which were also like concerts!

How many of you actually planned to play this game every single night with online and real life friends? This game definitely brought families and friends together in a historic way. Through this game even those people around the world who were not acquainted with the game started playing it. Saudi Arabia, Pakistanis and Indians took the lead!
Blue Whale Out To Get You
Before this decade started Blue Whale was only a particular kind of whale but by the middle of the decade Blue Whale was a deadly game which was said to be responsible for people committing suicide. Whether these claims were true or not but the way people talked about the blue whale definitely changed this year!
Meera Rehearsing English Script
Meera’s wrong English is really often the reason why people make fun of her. However, this one video in which she attempts to interview the leading photographer Tapu Javeri is one which is simply unbelievable. Meera cannot speak basic English words, she struggles to the extreme while looking like a diva. On the other hand, her poor guest is left wondering what he should do in the situation. This video had people in fits and this was shared and viewed innumerable times.
Waderai Ka Beta Sets New Standards
Ali Gul Pir’s song Waderai Ka Beta was new, it had a strong message, it was funny and people loved the chorus. This was the first time that someone highlighted the shortcomings in the system and the lifestyle of the wadera ka beta in a way which was so amusing! Ali Gul Pir’s song became an instant sensation.
Mathira Back After Her Divorce
Mathira went from being a happily married wife and a mother to being her old bold self. She posted plenty of bold pictures and her songs Jhoota turned controversial for many reasons. Mathira set her mind that she was going to stay in the news one way or the other and she did just that.
Hamsafar Breaks All Records
Drama serial Hamsafar made history in this present decade in more ways than one. Hamsafar got the most ratings any other drama got in the past decade. Not only this, after a long time this drama gave the viewers the kind of entertainment which kept them hooked right till the end. Hamsafar sky rocketed Fawad Khan’s popularity in particular. Fawad Khan was noticed in India too because of Hamsafar and that is what paved way for his future projects in India. Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan became an iconic on-screen couple in this decade so much so that people are still dying to see them work together again.
Veena Malik’s Controversies
Veena Malik’s controversies in this decade were iconic because there are few celebrities who get so controversial for so long! Veena Malik’s bold photo shoot across the border and his appearance in Big Boss was only the start. She went on making statements which even made some people believe that she was being blasphemous. Now, Veena Malik is showing a more political side with her overactive tweets about the political situation in the country. Veena Malik is addicted to public attention and she made sure she got that attention in this decade more than ever.
Taher Shah’s Eye to Eye
Taher Shah’s song Eye to Eye was anything but conventional yet it got so much attention. From the lyrics to the video, this song brought out the fun, cynical and witty side of people. This was most certainly a historic development since people watched and talked about this song so much.
Pakistani Celebrities Go Global
This decade had another historic development which was definitely positive. Pakistani celebrities for the first time represented Pakistan on the global front in many different ways. These celebrities went out of their way to show the world the soft image of Pakistan. This was a big breakthrough which definitely had a good impact with reference to Pakistan’s image in the world.
Gullu Butt Makes it To Oxford
Gullu Butt was the vandalist responsible for the violent nature of the altercation between police and Minhaj-ul-Quran workers in the 2014 Lahore clash. Who would have thought that people would actually make games starring Gullu Butt. The most historic development was when the word ” “Gulluism” was added to the Oxford dictionary. The meaning of the word in the dictionary is ” A violent person, enjoying enjoying back-end of ruling segments of society or any who has a conduct of mischief.”
Pakistani Cinema Takes off With Bol
This decade has been great for Pakistani cinema which took a turn for the better. With the film Bol, Pakistani cinema reached the audience who couldn’t even think about watching Pakistani films. This unexpected development was the best this year since it was followed by a wave of amazing films.
Humayun Saeed Continues to be The Ultimate Hero
This was definitely a historic development of this year since Humayun Saeed who has been around for decades did some of his best work this year. Through his films and dramas Humayun Saeed proved that he is here to stay which is a big deal considering that most actors have a shelf life. Some of his films and dramas did so well that he won more fame and fans than ever before.
Morning Shows Ending
Pakistani morning shows were a major trend at the beginning of this decade but towards the end these morning shows died a natural death. Most of the hosts moved on to hosting game shows, which are the new trend. Few other started their own talk shows on YouTube which gave them more liberty. Morning Shows popularity went down in this decade and game shows popularity went up.
Fantastic Cup of Tea
The highlight of this decade was the fantastic cup of tea enjoyed by Indian Wing Commander Abhinandan Verthaman while he was in Pakistan Army’s custody. When Indian Wing Commander Abhinandan Verthaman was captured by the Pakistani army, no one was expecting this development to turn into such an unforgettable moment for a completely different reason. When Indian Wing Commander Abhinandan Verthaman was asked by the officer interviewing him how his tea was, he replied “the tea is fantastic, thank you.” This fantastic cup of tea became more popular than anything else this year.

Mere Pass Tum Ho has a fan following which few dramas enjoy. Viewers who watch this drama also love discussing it. The dialogues often give the viewers so much to say. There are some dramas the fan following of which is of one kind – fans who love it! Well, Mere Pass Tum Ho has different kinds of fans since not all these ‘fans’ love the drama unconditionally. Humayun Saeed said one thing about Mere Pass Tum Ho which was so true, love it or hate it you’re still watching it! He emphasized in one of his interviews that even those people who are constantly criticizing the play can’t help watching it every week. That is what makes Mere Pass Tum Ho’s fan following different. Being a fan most often means that you support something so even people who say that they do not like the drama but watch it, are supporting it in some way. Most often when people don’t like dramas, they simply don’t watch them! Mere Pass Tum Ho is definitely not one of those dramas. People are watching this play whether they like it or not! And then of course there are others who love everything about it.
Here are 5 different kinds of Mere Pass Tum Ho fans. Which one are you?
The Die-Hard Fans
