For the third time in a film and fourth time working together, we have the incredible pair Humayun Saeed and Mehwish Hayat, pairing up one more time. The duo has first worked together in Nadeem Baig’s cinematic ventures Jawani Phir Nahi Aani and Punjab Nahi Jaungi and now, according to news sources, they’re coming together, once again for London Nahi Jaunga.
The audience has always shipped the onscreen pairing of Humayun Saeed with Mehwish Hayat. The duo’s drama serial Dillagi, which was again directed by Nadeem Baig, was a massive hit. People flocked to their televisions to watch Anmol and Mohid and the chemistry Saeed and Hayat shared was palpable.
And, rightfully so, when a pair shares such crackling chemistry on screen, filmmakers and directors would want to cast them together again and again. Especially when they have a bond and fan following like Humayun Saeed and Mehwish Hayat.
According to director Nadeem Baig, the story of London Nahi Jaunga, happens to belong to the same genre as Punjab Nahi Jaunga. However, the script would be different, following a different setting and a new cast alongside some from Punjab Nahi Jaunga as well. The director has clearly denied rumors of London Nahi Jaunga to be a sequel of PNJ.
Written by Khalil ur Rehman Qamar, London Nahi Jaunga is slated for a 2020 release. However, Nadeem Baig also confirmed that Humayun Saeed and he would be working on another film as well, written by Vasay Chaudhry. The cast of this yet to be titled film is not finalized yet.
Production will begin on any of the two scripts when the final draft is ready.

Dawn happens to be Pakistan’s oldest and most respected media outlets in Pakistan. When trying to authenticate a news story or looking for a source, Dawn is one of the first and most reliable source for all, Pakistanis or otherwise.
And so, when Dawn, is accused to have changed a story, something as sensitive as a rape story, of an established filmmaker, there are bound to be questions and allegations.
Although Dawn was the first publication to feature Jami’s story when he opened up about his rape in the morning, the platform took the story off all its social media by the afternoon.
Not only this, all of Dawn’s employees (editors and writers in point) had taken down the tweets or comments where they had shared the story’s link on social media.
People began to question and even Jami himself had a cryptic reply which hinted at the fact that there was some internal politics going on, especially, when the mention of the ‘media tycoon’ who had raped Jami, was deleted from Dawn’s story once it became live again.
And so, its only natural that backlash landed at the only name for Dawn’s editor, Hamna Zubair. Perhaps Hamna had been receiving a load of queries as to why Jami’s story was removed and then edited. This prompted Hamna to share how she had resigned from her position at Dawn in August.
Hamna then urged the public to direct their questions to Dawn’s current editors who would be able to answer people in official capacities. She herself stated her disappointed at the story having been edited but maintained that Dawn and its editors had always been ethical and courageous, and that if there would be any developments, Dawn would always do the right thing by its standards.
A recent update on Meesha and Ali’s court case is here. The mother of Meesha Shafi, Saba Hameed appeared in court to record her statement as Meesha’s first witness.
Saba Hameed testifies against Ali Zafar. Meesha’s first witness appeared in court and supported her allegations against Ali Zafar. Saba Hameed is a renowned TV actress and she is the first witness in the defamation case filed by Ali Zafar.
Saba told the court that sexual harassment in the entertainment industry is common as it is in our society generally. She said that Meesha is a private person and best to resolve the issue before going public with her statement against Ali Zafar. Meesha was not prepared to work with Ali Zafar due to past incidents of sexual harassment. She told the court that her daughter informed her of the incident of harassment 10-15 days prior to going to the public. Saba recalled that her daughter told to her “I am never going to put myself in this position ever again” in reference to the incident of harassment. She described the mixed feelings of guilt and shame which stopped Meesha from coming forward after the first incident a few years back. She told the court that it was only after experiencing a pattern of behavior from Ali Zafar did her daughter feel compelled to come out or even mention the incidents of sexual harassment to anyone.
Saba further said that her daughter was speaking the truth and that she spoke in the public interest. SHE Also said that in her generation women were fearful about speaking on such matters like sexual harassment but now things have changed women are more courageous. They are speaking up and realizing that it is not their fault that if they are being sexually harassed and it is no one’s concern that if they choose to wear cloth of their choice and that should never be the reason/justification was inappropriate touching/sexual harassment or rape.
Saba Hameed disclosed that she was also aware of other women who have been sexually harassed by Ali Zafar but she is not choosing to disclose their names because of the privacy reasons of those women. She explained that it is difficult for a victim of sexual harassment to speak especially where the harasser and victim have a relationship of friendship and trust.
Saba also shared that since Meesha’s tweet, it was Meesha who had suffered more reputationally, financially, emotionally and socially. Saba also shed light on the systematic vilification campaign against Meesha and the allegations she faced about her statement. Saba said that victims who share their experiences and name their harassers are labeled as trouble makers in the industry and end up losing work. She also said that her daughter tapped into all avenues to resolve this situation but was unsuccessful and only then she takes the step to go public.
She stated that ” Meesha is perceived to be an empowered woman but it is true that even the bravest the women experience fear of repercussion.”
Ali Zafar again failed to file a reply in the defamation case for Rs.2 billion filed by Meesha Shafi. Ali Zafar’s counsels have filed an application in the court asking the judge to stay Meesha’s defamation on the ground that Ali Zafar’s suit for defamation should be decided first. Meesha counsels have turned the move by Ali Zafar a dilatory tactic to avoid adjudication of Meesha’s case against Ali Zafar. The next date of the hearing has been set to November 2019.

Emotional baggage are feelings which weigh us down and make it difficult for us to carry on with our day. We all carry some sort of emotional baggage within ourselves. These can be feelings of anger, sadness, guilt or any other such emotions. Let’s look at the different types of emotional baggage there are:
Anger
Anger is a natural emotion which leads to a lot of heartbreaks, words which should not be said and eventually guilt. Anger leads to cutting off relationships, whether it is with friends or family or your partner. Holding on to anger means we won’t be mending your situation with the said person which is totally unhealthy. Anger can also cause many health problems such as depression, eating disorders, etc.
Guilt
Guilt can really eat you up during a relationship. Maybe there is something you can’t share with your partner and the more you keep it inside you, the more it strains your relationship. Maybe you cheated on them but had no intention to or you keep thinking or a past relationship. Hanging onto such guilt becomes troublesome for a lot of relationships. If you and your partner trust each other, it is best to confide in each other to let go of the feelings of guilt.
Regret
Regret stems from doing one thing and not the other because you thought the other was right. It can be an one going process and leave you in a vicious cycle which can be hard to come out of. But in all honesty, we can’t really predict the future, so we should learn to be happy in the moment and let go of the feeling of regret. Stop treating yourself as any less of a great human being and be proud of your achievements.
Fear
The fear of the future is much much worse than the fear of what has gone past. Especially in a relationship, when time goes by, we become fearful of our partners intentions, their feelings and commitment. This causes us to overthink situations and create scenarios in our mind which may or may not be true. The only way to overcome this is to communicate well with each other and be truthful about everything especially the future.
Stress
Stress can really wear a person out, in turn causing them to become moody and resentful towards others. Many people believe stress co-relates to being productive, but that can’t be true. You can easily mess things up if you’re stressed out.
Shame
Telling a lie to save oneself from an unfavorable situation can leave feelings of shame. Or if you think, you would be judged upon certain circumstances, you resort to not speaking the truth. Every person is in a scenario because of a certain purpose, so no need to feel shameful or remorseful for that purpose. Be confident and take things on as a challenge.
Self judgement
We often criticize ourselves for situations which are not even in our control and end up feeling bad about it. This self judgement can really leave us depressed and worried.

Coke Studio’s episode 2 was released this Friday. The artists lineup included Ibrar Ul Haq, Zeb Bangash, Shuja Haider & Rachel Viccaji. This episode had some brilliant performances to its credit. Lets get to all the songs one by one:
1- Billo :
Coke Studio’s rendition of 1995 classic Billo by Abrar Ul Haq was the first song of this episode & what a performance it was. I felt so nostalgic. Everything was just perfect. The energy, the music, the vocals, everything was on point. Lyrics were too funny. I always love Coke Studio songs more because of the backing vocalists and they were the best thing in this new rendition of Billo. The way they were singing it and enjoying it was great. Kudos to them. Billo surely is going to be the new Bhangra song for weddings.

2- Roshe:
Roshe is a Kashmiri folk song written by Habba Khatoon, sung by Zeb Bangash. This one has a very calm feel to it. Lyrics are beautiful. It is a song of ‘love and loss’. The melody is mesmerizing. However, this one is facing criticism on social media by Kashmiris, who are saying that Zeb’s pronunciation of Kashmiri language was not good.
3- Saiyaan:
Saiyaan is a duet of Shuja Haider & Rachel Viccaji. Sadly, this one wasn’t uploaded on YouTube due to copyrights issues but was uploaded on Coke Studio’s Facebook Page. Saiyaan is by far my most favorite Coke Studio song of this year. The melody is beautiful. Shuja Haider has no comparison when it comes to composing songs. Rachel has done a brilliant job. I liked the way Shuja has reused Mann Maayal’s OST’s lyrics in it. I hope that the copyright issues are resolved soon because this one is a masterpiece not to be missed.

Halloween, also known as All Saints’ Eve, is celebrated around the world on 31st October every year. It’s origin traces back to the eighth century when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. It also incorporates celebrations such as trick or treating, pumpkin carving, lighting lanterns and gatherings to enjoy the holiday. In recent times, Halloween has lost it beliefs and connotations behind the holiday and is only celebrated as a fun event. If you’re one of those celebrating this holiday just for fun and laughs, here’s a few costume ideas for your Halloween party:

The coolest horror family to have ever existed, if your favorite color is black, you need to dress up as one of the members of this family.

Because it’s the digital age and no one really cares about anyone except for being on their phones 24/7. Dressing up as an iPhone is the smartest choice to make this Halloween.
Cat in the hat
Black, red and white is all you need for this outfit. If you’re not too keen on getting the whole outfit or possibly can’t find it, wear black clothes, paint a moustache on you and wrap a scarf around your neck. Get white and red chartpaper, cut strips and circles and paste or staple them together to make your hat.
Maleficent
A little tricky but don’t we all just love thise cheekbones and the makeup is to die for. If you’re really good at makeup and want to experiment, then you surely need to go for this look.

Serial killer
An easy outfit, buy one of those scary ghost masks from the shops, grab a knife and you’re good to go to spook people around.

Adnan Siddiqui’s character as Shahwar in ARY Digital’s Meray Pass Tum Ho, is not only being appreciated because of his acting, he’s also being thoroughly hated by the audience for it.
Most of the people say, its because of Adnan’s charisma and his personality that a despicable character like Shahwar is being liked and received well by the audience. The type of acting prowess Adnan Siddiqui has shown, is simply superb and watching him play shades of grey in a drama, has being a great experience so far with Meray Pass Tum Ho.
However, despite the popularity, Adnan Siddiqui has been receiving a fair amount of criticism and hatred from the audience for the traits Shahwar possesses. He’s heartless, he’s mean and he’s all set to snatch a wife from her husband and a mother from her child, just because he’s obsessed by his beauty and wants it all for himself.
In a recent interview, when Adnan Siddiqui was questioned about the criticism he had been receiving as Shahwar, he gave out a message to his audience, stating how the audience should have been criticizing his character’s traits and not him as a person. “Danish, Mehwish and Shahwar in Meray Pass Tum Ho are characters and not the real actors Humayun, Ayeza or Adnan. Its the characters that should be receiving the bashing not the actors,” said Adnan.
Adding further about the popularity of Shahwar and Meray Pass Tum Ho, Adnan stated, “I’d say Khalil ur Rehman Qamar and Nadeem Baig deserve the most praise for having come up with such a drama. Humayun has been kind to let me do a powerful role.”
Adnan Siddiqui also said that he had been receiving praise for Shahwar as well and would like to ask the audience what they liked about the character so much.
Talking about the reason he said yes to the character Adnan Siddiqui added, “I loved Khalil ur Rehman Qamar’s dialogue. I feel, Shahwar has powerful dialogues and I feel lucky to have been given that.”

Kubra Khan is currently impressing her audience as Husn e Jahan in Alif. Before Alif, Khan had made headlines with her big film, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 last year starring opposite Humayun Saeed and matching him step for step in scenes that the two had together.
Kubra Khan, as it seems, had it relatively easy, when it came to making her way into the industry. Recently, Khan, shared how she bagged her first film when Nabeel Qureshi reached her on Facebook and she brushed it off being a prank. However, once she did Na Maloom Afraad, it was all easy and smooth for Khan in the industry, but it seems while her film and television career was smooth, she didn’t have it easy making friends.
Talking about how people treated her initially in the industry, Kubra Khan, shared, “People thought I had come from London to eat up their work.” Stating her experience about how she had met not many welcoming people, Kubra Khan added,”People commented on my face, my height and the fact that I didn’t know how to speak proper Urdu.”
Kubra shared that she had to practise a lot to improve her Urdu accent, which people heavily criticized. Although she debuted into the industry through films, Kubra earned a name for herself working in back to back hit drama serials including Sang E Mar Mar, Khuda Aur Mohabbat 2, Muqabil, Alif Allah aur Insaan and now Alif, as her most recent drama serial.

The Me Too Movement gained immense speed in Pakistan last year when Meesha Shafi accused Ali Zafar of sexually harassing her during a gig at his place. This movement gave, not only women, but also men the power to speak out against acts of sexual harassment which they have suffered through the hands of disgusting, filthy individuals. So how did the Me Too movement start?
MeToo Movement
The Me Too movement actually started way back in 2006, when Tarana Burke, a social activist and community organizer, began using the phrase on Myspace. The movement later began gaining momentum with women coming out with their stories of sexual harassment and abuse. It should be noted that the movement is not gender specific and involves men as well, which makes it equally horrific.
In 2017 and 2018, as many as 80 women came out with sexual harassment and misconduct accusations against American actor, Bill Cosby and American producer, Harvey Weinstein. That is when the movement actually spread more like wildfire with actress Alyssa Milano encouraging the use of the hashtag Me Too.
Me Too in Pakistan
As I mentioned earlier, The Me Too movement gained momentum in Pakistan when Meesha Shafi accused her friend Ali Zafar of sexual harassment. One year on, Ali being a powerful figure has not yet been convicted due to lack of “proofs”. But in all honesty, how can an individual provide proof for such heinous crime?
A guy suddenly gropes you or caresses your back, will you in the heat of the moment grab your phone and start recording? No, I don’t think so.
There is really no way to prove being sexually harassed. Harassment on the other hand comes in various forms. While physical sexual harassment is hard to prove, verbal harassment in which men tend to send lewd or crude messages to women on social media is much easier to prove.
Victim shaming and blame game
In this day and age, when the world has advanced so much, the victim of such a filthy crime still gets blamed.
“Its because of your clothes”
“You should have known better”
“Keep quiet for the sake of our reputation”
I really want to ask how can a person’s clothes be the root cause of harassment. Even women in burqas get raped, little babies get raped…and the most shocking of them all animals get raped!!
Men and #MeToo
The Me Too movement is not gender specific with even men being subjucated to this heart wrenching crime. Recently, Pakistani director Jami Mehmood had the courage to speak out of being a victim of Me Too. It was a brave act on his part to call out the predator and speak up against men.
Importance of Sex Education
With the Me Too movement on the rise and sadly showing no signs stopping as the victims are mostly shamed and perpetrators are left free to roam about. With the rise in sexual assaults especially against minors, children need to know what is right and what is wrong, and the difference between good touch and bad touch. They need to be aware of what will happen to their bodies and how to protect themselves.

Syeda Tuba Aamir, known to the public as Aamir Liaquat’s second wife, married the political scholar in 2018. Amidst a lot of controversies and allegations from Aamir Liaquat’s first wife and family, Tuba stayed steadfast and supported her husband throughout.
Tuba Aamir’s loyalty to her husband Aamir Liaquat is exemplary and therefore she is often found schooling trolls who dare question her choice of marrying Aamir Liaquat Hussain.
Recently, again when Tuba was questioned about the reason she choose to marry Aamir Liaquat, the lady set scores straight with the troll, answering them very bluntly and in the tone they most understand.
When one trolled questioned Tuba about her reason for marrying Aamir when there were a lot of other better people in the world, Tuba, wholeheartedly answered, “He is one of the best from amongst the very best of people in the world.”
To another troll who questioned whether Tuba was waiting for Aamir Liaquat to pass away so that she could have all his money, she bluntly and boldly schooled the troll reminding him to mind her own business for the best.
“Marriage is not a joke and certainly no one has the time or energy to invest in marriage for the sake of money. I belong from a very sound family and I was working and earning well even before I met him. Be sensitive while writing stuff like this and think about how will you feel if someone writers something like this for your husband or family. May Allah give good health and an even more successful life to my Aamir Liaquat,” wrote Tuba, putting the troll to silence.
Tuba answered about a hundred questions on her Instagram Q and A session. Apart from the trolling of the school, what caught our eye was the fact that Tuba, didn’t answer in a Yes or a No when one fan questioned her about her appearance in Pakistani dramas.
The “Hmm” hinted at something that is cooking behind the scenes. Earlier in an interview Aamir Liaquat had stated that he would want to launch Tuba in the entertainment industry soon. Perhaps this is the right time. Whatever it is, we’re eager to see Tuba Aamir on screen, if its happening, because, no doubt, the lady has beautiful features and will be a great addition to the entertainment industry in Pakistan.

Item numbers are a controversial subject. The revival of Pakistani cinema is in the initial stages and that is why filmmakers keep on exploring and experimenting with different tactics and strategies to attract the audience to the cinema halls. One such tact is item numbers and it is something that always brings negative attention to the movies and the actresses doing them. Pakistani audience has rejected the item numbers time and again but the filmmakers continue to add them in the movies. The reason why Pakistani filmmakers add item numbers in their heavily commercial movies is that they want to give their audience the same content that they are used to seeing in Bollywood films. However, the audience feels that if they are going to see the copied version of Bollywood films and item numbers, then it is better to watch the original content.
Item numbers, till date have not been well received by the Pakistani audience and they get heavily criticized all the time. Pakistani celebrities are divided when it comes to this subject. Some celebrities speak in favor of item numbers and do not mind endorsing them whereas there are such celebrities as well who strongly believe that item numbers should not be included in the movies because they objectify women and are not in accordance to the cultural values of Pakistan. In different interviews, most of the Pakistani celebrities have not shied away from sharing their perspectives about item numbers. The filmmakers and celebrities who endorse item numbers have tried really hard to bring acceptance of these kind of songs in the movies but they have not been successful till date. Item numbers always create an uproar on social media and the actresses doing them are always criticized.
Let’s take a look at the views of Pakistani Celebrities on the Item Numbers:
Hamza Ali Abbasi
Hamza Ali Abbasi is one such Pakistani celebrity who has been very vocal about his stance against item numbers. He has never shied away from calling item numbers as provocative content where women are objectified. Hamza Ali Abbasi has always received a lot of backlash from both, the fans of those actresses who have done it as well as his fellow celebrities but he has always stated that he does not see the need of such songs in the movies. Hamza has stated that Pakistani movies can work just fine without these item numbers and they do not serve any moral, ethical or entertainment purpose. Hamza Ali Abbasi also appreciated Zhalay Sarhadi for doing a dance number without wearing revealing clothes and this caused another scandal where even the actress on the appreciative end was not too happy with his stance and him taking her name to put his point across.
Kubra Khan
Kubra Khan appeared in the song ‘Dharak Bharak’ opposite Bilal Ashraf in the recently released film Superstar. For Kubra Khan, it was not an item number because she feels it is the lyrics that define what an item number actually is. Kubra Khan says she does not believe in item numbers but because she was explained about it a certain way, she committed to do one. Later, when she went to the shoot, she realized that the audience will perceive it as such a content, but because she could not back out from her commitment, she went ahead and did it. Kubra Khan continued to explain that she has had a spiritual awakening, due to which she will never appear in such songs ever. Kubra also mentioned that even before doing ‘Dharak Bharak’ she did not believe in item numbers, but now that she has had an experience of what it is all about, she will not do it again.
In the same interview, Kubra also spoke about the comment she got about observing ‘aitkaf’ in the Holy month of Ramzan. She responded to the tweet on Twitter but she decided to talk about it again on the show. Kubra Khan was unhappy about the way her ‘aitkaf’ was dragged and linked to her line of work and she seemed hurt.
Ushna Shah
Ushna Shah is known for voicing her opinions loud and clear. Ushna appeared in a rapid fire interview with Faiza Saleem and when asked about item numbers, she clearly stated ‘item numbers nahi karoongi, jo karna hai karwa le’. Ushna Shah however has done a dance number titled ‘Raat Ka Nasha’ in Punjab Nahi Jaoongi, but the setting of the song was nothing like an item number nor it was provocative. It was more like a song picturized on a get together where friends are dancing their hearts out. Ushna danced really well in that song and made it look cute and bubbly.
Hira Mani
In a recent interview, Hira Mani was asked about her stance on item numbers and her answer was politically correct. Hira said she is not against item numbers but she also won’t say they should not be included in the films. Hira continued to say that item numbers are entertaining and because they are related to the work the actresses have to do, such songs should be accepted by the audience. Hira also stayed very neutral and stated that she feels those movies which have a margin for item numbers should include one and such films that can do without one should not. However, Hira kind of dodged the question and did not answer clearly whether she herself will do one or not.
Fahad Mustafa
Fahad Mustafa is among those few celebrities who have openly endorsed item numbers citing them as demand of the movies and the current body of work that is being produced by the Pakitani filmmakers. Fahad Mustafa openly claimed that those who do not like item numbers should not watch or do them, but they also are not in the position to stop others from endorsing them. Fahad Mustafa seemed very sorted and clear with his stance on item numbers where he does not mind the idea of them being a part of the movie for entertainment purpose.

Neelam Munir
Neelam Munir’s stance is something that no one has heard before. Neelam has done an item number ‘Khabon Main’ for Khalil ur Rehman Qamar’s directorial debut ‘Kaaf Kangana’. Neelam Munir received a lot of backlash for appearing in an item number but her response was what no one could’ve ever imagined. In her defense, Neelam stated that she only did this song because ‘Kaaf Kangana’ was a project of ISPR. She used her patriotism as a cover for this venture of hers. Neelam also clarified that this might be her first and last item number and she has done it for the sake of Pakistan. This one is definitely new and no one is convinced with Neelam’s explanation.
Mahira Khan
Mahira Khan feels that the term item number itself is wrong. Before stating her opinion, she emphasized on the fact that the audience in general is very judgmental. Mahira Khan feels that item number could be someone’s vision and their portrayal of art, therefore it is perfectly fine if anyone wants to add such a song in their movie.
Mansha Pasha
Mansha Pasha is also one of those celebrities who say what they feel needs to be said. Mansha Pasha has been scrutinized for her statements that did not sit well with some of the actors as well. In a rapid fire round with Faiza Saleem, when asked, Mansha Pasha simply stated that item numbers were ‘just fine’. It being the rapid fire round obviously did not give her a chance to explain what she agrees or disagrees with. However, in another interview, Mansha Pasha did speak about item numbers in detail and stated that they promote a certain body-type and make women feel they need to look a certain way in order to be desirable and this is something that she does not agree with.
Sarah Khan
In an interview with a TV Channel, Sarah Khan came forward and spoke openly against the idea of item numbers. Sarah Khan stated that she does not agree with the fact that a woman has to wear certain type of clothes, give certain expressions and dance a certain way to prove that she has some worth. Sarah shared the same stance as Hamza Ali Abbasi that for a movie to work and do good business, item number is not a necessity. She further stated that script, direction and acting is what makes or breaks a film. Sarah Khan raised a point that women are above and beyond the kind of image item numbers tend to portray and this is something that she does not agree with.
Mehwish Hayat
Mehwish Hayat is one such Pakistani actress who has quite a few item numbers to her credit. Mehwish Hayat has always been heavily criticised for doing them but she has always defended her songs strongly. For Mehwish, item numbers are her personal choice, a part of her job and something that empowers her. Mehwish Hayat has taken a different take on item numbers where she feels by playing roles such as ‘Gangster Guriya’, she is promoting an image of a girl who is confident, controlling and is sorted enough to know what she wants. For Mehwish Hayat, dancing in an item number is a form of art.
Saba Qamar
Saba Qamar‘s stance on item numbers changed with the passage of time. Saba Qamar did an item number in the movie ‘Mastani 8969’ but before the movie was released, the news was leaked and circulated on the social media which brought criticism along her way. Saba Qamar stated that she has not done any item number and it was just a publicity stunt by the producers of the movie. Saba Qamar continued to say that housewives and regular women relate with her based on the kind of characters she plays, therefore she will not do such work which will create a barrier between her and those fans who love her. Saba also went ahead and took names of her contemporaries like Mehwish Hayat and Humaima Malik, stating that people were criticising them for doing item numbers, therefore she will not do one herself. Later when ‘Mastani 8969’ was released with Saba Qamar’s item number very much being a part of the movie, it was clear that Saba Qamar was trying to hide it and did not want any attention on her before people saw her work. This definitely left people confused about the kind of defense Saba Qamar chose for herself where she took Mehwish and Humaima’s name while still doing something similar.
Mehreen Jabbar
The ace director Mehreen Jabbar also gave a statement to an online publication about item numbers. Mehreen Jabbar’s stance is clear where she says she is not against dance and fun songs but anything that is derogatory and objectifies women, is something that she disapproves.
