Hum TV recently released the trailers of their upcoming drama starring Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Aly. Titled Yeh Dil Mera, the drama has been penned down by Farhat Ishtiaq and if news is anything to go by, this one will be a thriller.

Although the teasers released were nothing but romantic, featuring Ahad as Sajal’s probable employer and Sajal being smitten with his charm, people have been not taking well to the entire scenario, workplace flirtation as it is being called.

A lot of Twitter users took to the channel’s official Twitter handle to state that the teasers showed workplace harassment and it was not in a good taste at all.

People also pointed out how Ahad’s character was shaded.

Comparisons to film and novel by E L James, 50 Shades of Grey, came in as well, considering how Ahad Raza Mir was channeling serious Christian Grey vibes.

After all the criticism and comparisons that have befallen the teasers of Yeh Dil Mera, even before the drama is out,, the writer Farhat Ishtiaq, took it upon herself to clear the doubts. Thanking a fan for her confidence, Farhat stated that she would never ever romanticize rape, sexual harassment and misogyny.

Although as stated earlier, Ahad and Sajal’s new television outing by Farhat Ishtiaq would be a romantic thriller that would also star Adnan Siddiqui, Mira Sethi and Zarnish Khan as well. With the teasers of the two characters now out and lot of shades being thrown by Ahad’s character, when can only wait anxiously to find out whether the comparisons bear any ring of truth to them or not or whether it turns out to be safe love story.

Farhat Ishtiaq is known for her deep plots and if those are anything to go by, this one isn’t going to be something light at all.

A short Pakistani film Sacch’s trailer got released today. The fans from the ’90s would be familiar with the husband-wife team of Zulfiqar Sheikh and Tasmina Sheikh, who together created many hit dramas for the Pakistan television industry. 

In the introductory shots of the trailer, the three main characters were introduced, forming the love triangle. Let’s wait until December to see the whole movie.

In an interview with CNN, Kate Middleton said her tour of Pakistan with Prince William was “really special.”

It has been, by all accounts, a highly successful five days of outreach. They met with Prime Minister Imran Khan, school children, played cricket and saw many sights!

Khalil-ur-Rehman called Saba Hameed dishonest and bashed Urwa for hurting him.

The cast of upcoming film Kaaf Kangna appeared in Morning at home show which is hosted by Nadia Khan. The film features Sami Khan, Eshal Fayyaz, Ayesha Omar and many other stars.

The famous writer Khalil-ur-Rehman also appeared in the interview. He revealed some of the major things. During the interview, he called Saba Hameed and Mehmood Aslam dishonest.

“Mehmood Aslam and Saba Hameed will never be part of my project. I pray that I never have to work with such dishonest people. I have never seen such dishonest people in my life. Unfortunately, Mehmood Aslam took one lac more than what was decided. When  I threw out Saba and I needed him (Mehmood Aslam) and he said I don’t have any dates. He never called me and asked about how I was doing though we were really good friends,” Khalil-ur-Rehman revealed.

Further, he spoke his heart out and shared how he suffered because of Urwa Hocane. The writer suggested that he had offered the role to Urwa just because of Farhan Saeed (who is his close friend) but working with her soon turned into a “scary experience.”

“I have issues with whom I used to call my sister, Urwa Hocane. May Allah forgive her but I have been through a lot because of her. I have tolerated her because of her husband, he is my really good friend and he loves me. I believed Urwa admired me too and I had links with her family too. I had issues with her (during shooting) and I used to tell her not to do this but there came a time and I had to say goodbye to her. She was not even performing good and I have no problem in letting her go,” he shared.

SARFARAZ AHMED SACKED AS PAKISTAN’S TEST AND T20I CAPTAIN.

Actor Fahad Mustafa takes a stand for captain Sarfaraz Ahmed. Fahad believes Sarfaraz deserves better.

The much-anticipated season of Coke Studio Pakistan had it’s premier last Friday. Everybody was looking forward to this season with great expectations, mainly because of the return of the maestro Rohail Hayat. Coke Studio is indeed the biggest music platform in Pakistan and has given us huge hits which are equally popular in other parts of the world too.

Wohi Khuda Hai:

The season starter was the hamd ‘Wohi Khuda Hai’ by Atif Aslam, originally written and recited by Muzaffar Warsi and then by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

Atif Aslam has really done a brilliant job. It touches the heart. Atif’s vocals are so mesmerizing. I loved the ending part (Darood), it’s so divine and the harmony spreads all over.

The only thing I feel could have been better, is the use of backing vocalists. They are not fully utilized in this one. Otherwise, it is majestic.

Dam Mastam:

Dam Mastam (My breath is intoxicated) is a sufi dhamaal song written by Shehbaz Qalandar that depicts his love for Hazrat Ali (R.A), performed by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Its lyrics are beautiful. I don’t think that the first half was catchy enough but the second half where it shifts to double beat was brilliant and did work for me. It is a different take on Qawwali and what I liked most was  Rohail’s signature music in it.

Ram Pam:

Ram Pam is a fun song, a light-hearted take on love, written and composed by Sahir Ali Bagga, performed by Zoe Viccaji and Shahab Hussain. It is my favorite from the episode. It is basically the story of a girls who is in love and she is telling her friend about this. The music is catchy. Lyrics are funny. Backing vocalists have done great job. Zoe’s voice was perfect for the song. My favorite part was,

Tu fikar na kar O Bachi!
Tere nall hai Baba Bhatti!

This made me laugh so hard 😂😂.

And the way Zoe says, Baba Ji shukriya karam, it was perfect.

Maahi Diyaan Jhokaan:

Maahi Diyaan Jhokaan is a Seraiki sufi track, performed by Barkat Jamil Fakir Troupe. What I felt was that it is a tale narrated by Heer, telling about what she is going through after falling in love with Ranjha. Barkat Jamil Troupe has done justice to it and the backing vocals were the main attraction in this one for me. Its composition is very captivating. Lyrics are beautiful and meaningful.
