Teri Raza Episode 28 Review – Ridiculous!

Another week, another ridiculous episode of Teri Raza. I must say the character of Suhana really makes you question writer’s sensibility & mentality, matlab kamal ka dheet character likha hai wo bhi itna anokha!

Just because Seema held her ground, she convinced everyone that things had to change which was good & also expected from a woman of Seema’s stature who is groomed, educated, sensible & most importantly respects herself & knows her rights, unlike certain someone who thinks the entire world revolves around her & everyone has to take care of her whiney existence. It was good that Sitara also convinced Imtiyaz & he gave in!

LOL! Just a single notice from Imtiyaz was enough for Suhana to declare him as the worst human being alive, why? Because he stopped pampering her, lol! Talk about being selfish to the core. Just few days back she saw him as the best person on the entire planet even better than her own father because he was taking care of her kharcha pani & when he decided to draw a line & stop spoonfeeding her, she started seeing him as a culprit.

I just don’t understand what Suhana’s issue with her father is? She actually wants him to give everything to her in a golden platter that too on her terms & conditions? For someone who has absolutely nothing & has done nothing in her life, has achieved literally nothing, she has quite a bit ego!

Imtiyaz’s fixation with empowering (read babysitting) Suhana is beyond me. Not sure if he will be able to keep his promise with Seema this time around too. Also, does Jeena has any life of her own or she just hovers around Rameez to taunt him? Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Teri Raza.

ARY Morning Shows – Cashing In On Another Tragedy!

Unfortunately, yesterday the story of an angel named Zainab affected everyone deeply, it made all the Pakistanis heavy hearted yet unanimous in demanding the culprit to be punished severely. Everyone felt the strong urge to voice their thoughts and give words to their inner most feelings keeping Zainab and her family in mind because every single person connected and felt the pain that Zainab’s parents must be going through. Amidst the chaos, a concerned Pakistani named Rania Vohra spoke her heart out by pinpointing the heartlessness that the morning show hosts display at times like these. Rania’s Instagram post got the attention because a renowned actor Nauman Ijaz not only shared it but agreed with it as well.

ARY Morning Shows - Cashing In On Another Tragedy! ARY Morning Shows - Cashing In On Another Tragedy!

As expected, all the morning show hosts of famous TV Channels conducted shows dedicated to Zainab. They most certainly had the right to do so but in the middle of it, Sanam Baloch took this particular post by Rania personally and made it all about herself. Sanam Baloch made sure to put across her disagreement in a very uncultured fashion where she ended up defending herself and likes of Nida Yasir who are known for conducting Wedding Weeks (read Months) on their show. Sanam Baloch did say that she usually doesn’t talk about what is written about morning shows on social media, but this time around she couldn’t ignore it (because the truth is bitter and reality bites). Sanam could have easily ignored Rania’s post but the fact that she went out of the way to speak about it only to diss what Rania had said basically further proved Rania’s point. Sanam came up with a very weak argument that the shows which are all about makeup and weddings get the highest ratings while completely ignoring the point that Rania spoke about the bigger picture and the formats of the show in general.

Although Sanam Baloch is never as overdramatic and made up in such shows as Nida Yasir is but very often she asks the victims and their families questions which are completely purposeless as well as hurtful. When Sanam Baloch covered the APS attack in few of her shows, she kept on calling the families of the victims to her show and she kept on asking them questions which didn’t help in any way. Also, in one of her shows when she was talking to an APS student who was injured during the attack through video call, she kept on asking him about his friends and that unfortunate day. There was a psychologist present on the show who kept on saying that Sanam shouldn’t be asking the boy such questions but no one listened to her and she finally walked out of the show. Later on, her husband posted on his facebook page that his wife walked out of the show because she did not want to be a part of everything that was going on there since the boy who was in trauma was not in the condition to answer such questions.

These morning show hosts have conducted so many shows on these tragedies but still they didn’t master the art of sensitivity that is needed at times likes these. Whether they accept or not, it is a fact that these shows are run by rating mongers who do everything to grab TRP’s to satisfy their egos. Just because Sanam believes she does people a favor by hosting these shows, she was of the opinion that those who talk against these shows rape these hosts emotionally? I would really like to blame this statement on the fatigue that Sanam must be suffering because she just returned from her vacations, I would love to believe that she was jet-lagged because what she said basically made no sense whatsoever.

Well, at least Sanam had the decency to do the show bare faced because she wanted the message of her guest to reach out to people but when it came to Nida Yasir, her show (which Sanam defended by the way) started off with a dramatically acted out poem. Why can’t Nida be normal especially when it comes to tragedies like these. The black & white poster image of Nida in a scarf with her hands raised for a prayer which is used during such tragedies is not only off putting but makes everything look very fake. Nida’s styling was also very inappropriate, it was like she was dressed to later attend a dinner party. How hard was it for her to find a simple Shalwar Kameez which wasn’t so flashy and let’s not even get started on her cake face and perfectly straightened hair. Yes, they are on a camera but why put up a drama of being affected when they can not even be decent or reasonable enough to actually look like they care. All of Nida’s guests starting from Asma Abbas to Muzna were too made up, completely forgetting the fact that they were gathered to mourn a loss of a little angel. Fiza Ali’s shrilly performance also served no purpose whatsoever. For the first time may be, Nida invited a psychologist who could actually teach people a thing or two but Muzna, Fiza and Sadia had no decency to have let the expert share her knowledge and insight. Nida totally failed at tackling the show and had no control over her guests who were cutting each other off trying to prove a point that they were more saddened than one another.

In short, there was nothing “real” about Good Morning Pakistan’s “well planned” black and white theme, Nida’s perfect make-up and get-up and the way she presented herself . We are not saying that she didn’t feel anything for Zainab or her parents but why go overboard when staying natural will make it easier for people to connect to your feelings? Just like every other show hosted by Nida Yasir, this one too was run by her guests more than her. She wasn’t prepared enough therefore after giving her well memorized introduction, she didn’t have anything good to add to the discussion.

Our morning show hosts always have different reasons (excuses) for asking the victims or their families to come forward but it is a fact that the way these people are interviewed by the hosts is highly insensitive. Usually the main purpose of these questions is to extract emotional details about the incident because such clips and shows guarantee TRPs. Unfortunately, ARY is yet again using a tragedy to further their own interests and agendas. If everything that they were doing to help Zainab was done without reasserting the notion that they had played a vital role in bringing this matter to everyone’s attention, it would have seemed more “selfless”! Right now, the way they are covering this whole tragedy looks more like a marketing strategy which is exactly why a lot of people out there feel that at the end of the day unfortunately it is all about getting viewership. Share your say.

Nauman Ijaz Pointed Out A Bitter Reality!

0

Nauman Ijaz mostly does not hold back when he has to say something. The versatile actor was also shaken by the heinous crime that happened in our society and expressed his feelings which can explain anyone’s state of mind right now:

Nauman Ijaz Pointed Out A Bitter Reality!

He also pointed out a bitter reality that how such a thing will also be used for some ratings and we will take a little break in our routines and will go back to doing the same stuff again:

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 10 – Effective & Captivating

This was another powerful episode of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila which yet again got the message across with precision and was brilliantly directed and acted out. For the first time I felt that Sadia was at fault too because she was capable of being much wiser and more strong than she has been all along. Turning to Joi for help by doing him favours at the expense of her self-respect and her daughter’s mental well-being wasn’t the best course of action. Although, it is easy to understand why she felt that she had no choice but tonight especially Sila’s reaction to everything she had witnessed over the years showed that there was a good reason why this poor girl felt so alone and scared.

Even though it was quite clear right from the start that Sila blamed her mother for a lot of things but her angry outburst in this episode revealed a great deal more. Sila’s father had always been away therefore her mother was the only person who could have done whatever she could to make Sila feel loved and protected but Sadia failed to do so for multiple reasons. Although Sadia is a wise woman but she has absolutely no support in the house therefore turning to Joi for help seemed like the only way to avoid more problems in the house. Sadia’s husband is to be blamed for not taking responsibility for his wife and daughter but she also failed to workout a more viable and long term solution to her problems. Joi has also been blackmailing Sadia which is another reason why she feels that “pleasing” him is the only way to ensure that he stays quite. Sadia’s plan however has backfired in the worst way possible. Although she is doing all this to protect her daughter but Sila has clearly been more affected by everything she has seen than anything else. Sila is convinced that her mother is having an affair with Joi therefore she holds her responsible for everything.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 10 - Effective & Captivating

Everything that Sila said in tonight’s episode when she confronted her mother was extremely poignant and made perfect sense. Bari Aapa and Sikandar have always blamed Sadia for everything, Sila has heard them say those things so many times and then she has seen her mother with Joi therefore there is a good reason why she is convinced that her life is miserable because her mother is emotionally and physically involved with another man. Getting married to this man would be Sila’s way of taking revenge from her mother! Sila’s character, just like all the other characters in this play, has been etched-out flawlessly. You completely understand the mental turmoil she is going through and the reasons why she fails to see things differently.

Zaini and Raheel’s confidence even after all those lies Bari Aapa told everyone was the highlight of this episode. These two characters are completely different from Sila and Sadia’s characters, they do not allow anyone to dictate anything to them. They are strong individuals who have been using their strengths to help Sila which is the best part of their characters. Aamna Malick has been faultless as Zaini, her dialogue delivery and body language is always on point. The turn Noshi’s character took was somewhat unexpected and it is easy to tell who Zaini takes after! Zaini’s father has to be the most sensible man in Noor Manzil but her mother is turning out to be a typical woman who desperately wants to get her daughter married to an “eligible bachelor”.

Saman Ansari continues to impress as Sadia, I truly respect her for always choosing projects which highlight important social issues. Whether she is playing a posh wife of a corrupt politician or a mother of 3 daughters who couldn’t give her husband a son, she always does complete justice to her roles. Yumna Zaidi is another actress who is young but is talented beyond her years. She has acted opposite some very versatile and experienced actors but she has always made her presence felt. Nauman Ijaz’s superb performance in this serial cannot be appreciated enough because he has breathed life into a character which isn’t easy to translate on screen. Normally, the roles he plays in dramas are very different from this one therefore those viewers who wish to see him nailing a completely different role should definitely tune into this drama. Sakina Samo has been exceptional as Bari Aapa throughout. I love the dialogues and the screenplay of this drama, we don’t get to hear such beautiful Urdu in our dramas very often. The director Kashif Nisar has yet again brought out the best in all the characters and has translated the entire setting of the play perfectly on screen.

Dar Jati Hei Sila definitely has my undivided attention and keeps me looking forward to more. How many of you watched tonight’s episode? Don’t forget to share your thoughts about it.

Khudgarz Episode 7 & 8 Review – Amazing!

Ohkay so, it was yet another amazing episode of Khudgarz but just when I was feeling happy by the end of it, the preview of the next episode took that away from me because looks like one of the strongest character is going to hit the rock bottom. I so didn’t see it coming & I actually hope it isn’t what I am thinking it is. Other than that, Khudgarz continues to impress me & I must say Yasir Nawaz is one fine director!

It was beautiful that just when Aairah was trying to bring Abeer to life, Abeer was helping Aairah in one way or the other too. Abeer happened to be the first person in front of whom Aairah gave words to her feelings for Junaid. Aairah actually fell in love with Junaid but still hesitated because she felt that he was still stuck in the past & wasn’t ready to move on.

Abeer not only got her confidence back but realized that she deserved so much better. All the conversations that Aairah & Abeer had with meaningful & interesting. Abeer didn’t even realize until she heard it from Aairah that she speaks about Raheel with a very positive & appreciative tone which then made her realize that Raheel has had an impact on her that she was unaware of.

The way Abeer got to know about Raheel’s feelings was very sweet. She spotted her picture in his wallet & then realized what she means to him. Raheel was there for Abeer every step of the way & without saying anything, he still made sure that Abeer knew that she had his back. Abeer not only said sorry but the way her body language changed in front of Raheel went to show that she was conscious of his feelings & kind of acknowledged them too. The confession scene of Raheel & Abeer was very sweet. Abeer finally understood that she was not only better off without Hassan, she also deserved someone who loved her & accepted her for who she was. Raheel got to tell Abeer how much he loved her & the way he worded his feelings by telling her what he thought of her was beautiful too! The way Raheel protected Abeer was so nice, I felt happy for Abeer that she finally found someone who would do the heavylifting as she was done fighting with so many demons that she now deserved a break & was getting one as Raheel was there for her!

Hassan is actually a weak man who thinks he is strong because people around him stayed silent & tolerated his atrocities. One thing worth noticing was that Hassan walked away everytime someone looked into his eyes & chose not to get intimidated by him, at that moment it got a bit too obvious that Hassan was a coward who couldn’t fight those who stood up to him. Abeer filed for divorce & Hassan couldn’t take it but then again, he decided to part ways as he realized that Abeer wouldn’t let him walk all over her anymore. It was like Hassan got to know that Abeer was of no use to him because she also garnered the courage to stand up to him & that was something that he couldn’t tolerate! Hassan’s fear of the police & flashbacks of him assaulting Abeer showed that he only knew how to stuff things up but had no courage to own the wrong that he does.

Junaid fell in love with Aairah & decided to confess his feelings on her birthday. Even though Junaid is submissive but he fell in love with Aairah because of her & not because he had to fulfill his committment. After spending time with her & getting to know Aairah better, Junaid realized that she was a perfect partner for him. Aairah who on her own fell in love with Junaid felt at ease after hearing from him that he was ready to move on & that’s when she decided to reciprocate his feelings too. I love how both Aairah & Junaid are so honest with each other, like Junaid clearly told her that he might miss Rabeea someday as it won’t be possible for him to completely forget her but he came to terms with his fate & Aairah also understood him. The way both Aairah & Junaid are dealing with this relationship like two mature adults is not only interesting but quite refreshing too.

Junaid knew that hell would break lose if Hassan’s parents will find out about his marriage with Abeer, that’s why he told Aairah to keep that secret to herself. It was good that Aairah chose to respect what Junaid said because she knew things would get out of hands if the family will find about it & it would further put pressures on Abeer which would serve no purpose whatsoever. Aairah was happy to know that a toxic man like Hassan was out of Abeer’s life but sadly, she has no idea that he’s going to create a havoc in her life.

Overall, this episode of Khudgarz was quite interesting & engaging. I love the conversations that happen between the characters as they are so meaningful, sweet & refreshing. I loved seeing a healthy marital relation between Junaid & Aairah, since this normalcy is thrown out of the window in most of our dramas. Mansha Pasha took the crown in this episode with her phenomenal acting & I must say Salman Saeed was quite impressive as well. The chemistry between both the couples is subtle but very strong which is amazing to see. Syed Jibran, Amina Sheikh & Sami Khan are equally impressive as well & the direction of this drama is flawless. Definitely looking forward to the next episode. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Khudgarz.

Celebrities Raise Voice For Zainab!

Sometime back a city of Pakistan came into the news because it had people who were abducting and raping children and were also involved in selling child pornography. But did anything happen other than some days of it becoming a part of our news bulletins? NO! Because apparently, those heinous monsters were being protected by some influential people of our society. And because they were left unquestioned. today another flower was wilted and thrown into the garbage. A 7-year-old Zainab lost her innocence and her life while her parents were in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. And all this happened in the same city again. The news has hit the nation and people are demanding justice for Zainab at least on social media. Celebrities are people whose voices are heard and many of our celebrities demanded justice for the little angel. From Hamza to Mahira Khan, everyone was shocked and they lent their voices to demand justice for Zainab:

Alif Allah Aur Insaan Episode 38 Review – Yawn!

Ohkay so, even though they are wrapping things up but the way things are being unfolded is not making sense anymore. It looks like no one in this drama is going to have a happy or normal life & everyone is either going to remain sad or unhappy.

Even though I am not saying that Shahzeb’s dua would have changed anything but the way he refused to say a prayer for Arsalan was so weird. All Shahzeb had to do was raise his hands & pray for someone’s recovery but in stead, he chose to give Zimmal a long lecture about Allah’s Decree only to later regret it. The way Shahzeb takes impulsive decisions & then regrets after speaking to his mother is becoming monotonous. Yes, it is understandable that all this blind faith & trust of people in him is quite overwhelming for Shahzeb to handle but saying a simple prayer for someone should’ve come without a second thought to him because it is something very basic & didn’t require such brainstorming that he did. The way Shahzeb immediately returned Basit without giving him a chance was justified as he couldn’t curb those ill feelings immediately & upon contemplating he then realized that he did something wrong but when it came to Zimmal, he really didn’t need to be so egoistic!

Well, Arsalan died & Zimmal ended up blaming Shahzeb for it which again was something absolutely forced. It was like she had no one to blame to she saw Shahzeb as an easy target whereas she should’ve blamed the one who actually hit Arsalan with his car. Obviously Shaheer thinks the coast is clear & he can now get married to Zimmal but I now have a feeling that she will end up with Shahzeb & this ghunda will be left with gandasa in the end!

Nazneen’s one dimensionally dheet character is beyond me. To be honest, I don’t even care if something bad happens to her now because the way she chooses to remain ignorant of her shortcomings & selfishness really makes her prone to misfortune. Also, looks like the producers were at a crunch of money because Kubra Khan has been sporting the same Kurta for last 4 5 episodes (or more, who knows). She got proposed in the same kurta, got married in the same kurta, she spent the first fews days of her marriage in the same kurta & as the preview suggested, she will get parted with Taimur in the same kurta too! Tauba!

Anyways, this episode was just alright but the overall purpose of this drama is lost. It now looks like a story of bunch of unfortunate people who failed – some failed at love well most of them actually failed at love & others failed at life. What a failure! Not that anyone else is being exceptionally amazing at acting but the one who was exceptionally bad at it was Nimra Khan, matlab itni buri acting dikhanay ke liye ye drama drag kiya tha? Uf! Also I am sad that Arsalan didn’t get a chance to score a shampoo bottle as a wedding gift, bechara oily balon ke saath hi chala gaya! Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Alif Allah Aur Insaan aur Daal se Dua karain ke ye Daal se Drama jaldi khatam ho!

Tau Dil Ka Kya Hua Episode 23 Review – Unpredictable & Interesting!

HUM finally decided to air a new episode of Tau Dil Ka Kya Hua after two weeks, the kind of treatment this drama has been given by the channel has been appalling and now I am seriously wondering what is the reason behind it. It is almost as if there is a conscious attempt to put the viewers off. I am not saying that this drama is a commercial hit but we have seen many dramas which were not commercial hits being treated with more professionalism than this one. Changing the time slot of the drama was bad enough but not airing it for two weeks in a row has to be some kind of a record especially because the time slot was given to award shows which could have gone on air any day of the week!!

This episode opened with Lubna and Siraj Uncle talking about how they felt about broken hearts and dreams. This conversation, like many other conversations tonight was interesting and meaningful. Rehan Sheikh is absolutely adorable as Siraj Uncle, I find his “obsession” with making sure that every person with a broken heart gets happiness or love in some form or the other extremely interesting. Rehan Sheikh shares on screen chemistry with all the actors he has shared screen space with in this drama. Hajra Yamin’s acting style is natural as well and she makes Lubna’s character likeable. It is refreshing watching a play with female characters which have different personalities and are nothing like the kind of characters we see in our dramas.

Tonight’s episode mainly covered everyone’s reaction to Tipu’s attempt to “help” Zoya and Maya’s attitude towards her family after they supported Tipu. Zoya was the only person who came to Maya’s rescue ultimately even though Maya did not give her a warm welcome but Zoya wanted Maya to go back to Faris maybe to see if that is what Maya needed to satisfy her ego. Maya hasn’t changed at all, everything that Tipu did made her even more stubborn. She has been shown as someone who never pauses to think about her own actions but is continuously pointing out how everyone around her has betrayed her. Maya and Baila’s conversation was the highlight of this episode, Baila has always been honest and outspoken about everything Maya has done so far and this time around too she tried to make Maya realize that she also made some terrible decisions because of which she is in this situation. Most importantly she told Maya how wrong her assumptions about her family members were. Ayeza Khan’s performance has been absolutely brilliant throughout and I really appreciate the fact that she is experimenting with new roles now. Imran Ashraf is another versatile actor who nails every single role he chooses to play.

Tau Dil Ka Kya Hua Episode 23 Review - Unpredictable & Interesting!

Maya and Zoya’s confrontation could have been far more interesting and powerful if Noor Khan’s performance wasn’t so average. Her expressions and dialogue delivery can be really misleading most of the times. The last scene of this episode and the preview of the next one suggested that Faris might have fallen in love with Lubna now, I really hope that the viewers are being mislead into thinking that since at this point adding such a twist to the story would be unnecessary. Having said that, I have complete faith in the writer and the director since Tau Dil Ka Kya Hua has been appealing in its own unique manner so far  and it has never disappointed those of us who are enjoying watching these intricate relationships and complicated personalities on screen for more than 20 episodes now.

Khamoshi Episode 14 Review-A Good Episode!

0

Today’s episode was undoubtedly the best one since Khamoshi has started. Things got cleared out and everything was out in the open, this is maybe the time when the drama will finally move towards Arsala’s life transformation.

Shahram recognised his love for Arsala and tried to give her everything she “once” had desired. He, however, did not try to know what she wants now. But as his character has been from the start, it was an expected move on his part. He always does the deeds of kindness without becoming obvious. The change of heart by Sabir was a wow moment in today’s episode. Yes he is greedy, he wants money and went to extreme lengths to get facilities in his life but at the end of the day, he was a father who didn’t do partiality. When he was hating his family, he was hating everyone. He never put Naima before Arsala. But the realisation came very late to him, at a time when there is nothing left for Arsala.

Khamoshi Episode 14 Review-A Good Episode!

The mystery surrounding Naima’s awful behaviour was also solved in today’s episode. She actually is not doing anything unique. She is just walking in her mother’s footsteps. Shehnaz’s behaviour was extremely bad. She is the real culprit for everything happening to Arsala. This is a hard fact of society which is not often talked about in our dramas much but Khamoshi totally showed how the partiality by parents destroy households. She was blaming her sister for everything and was bad mouthing Arsala like she was her step-daughter and Naima became bechari in a second.

Atif-the confused was turning everything upside down in one second for marrying Arsala and in the next, he was slandering her for being involved with Shahram. The confrontation scene between Arsala and Atif was very weak. He was saying stuff about her character and she was standing there with mera peecha chorr do Atif. She is finally off to Karachi and Atif will be getting married to Naima now. Again Naima has neither manners nor self-respect. She will marry the man who is still after her sister.

Next episode will show Atif’s pity party, looks like dragging will start again but this was a good episode with many situations finally getting cleared out!

Aangan Episode 9 Review – Amazing Episode!

Ohkay so, another week, another happening, entertaining & very sweet episode of Aangan. What I love about Aangan is that even before the episode begins, you just know that you are going to have a good time & the best part is, team Aangan doesn’t disappoint you, so big thumbs up for the entire team, especially the writer, the director & last but definitely not the least, the actors!

So, Anila did what she wanted to & Zaitoon obviously took things seriously. Obviously, before being mother in law, Zaitoon is a mother so it is natural that she is going to listen to Anila to make her feel valued & important. The way Zaitoon told Anila that this house still belonged to her was an implication that she was saying exactly what Anila wanted to hear!

Sajjad & Asim obviously came up with a plan to get Zahid involved in something so that he earns a few bucks for his family but even before any of it was materialized, Laila exactly knew how Zahid would react because firstly, he would never approve of Laila’s business & secondly he would never bring himself to work under a woman because his ego along with his staunch concepts won’t allow him!

My favorite part of this entire episode was the conversation between Aqdas & Zoya. It was so effortless how Zoya ended up confiding in Aqdas as she could see that he wanted to understand her & was trying really hard to get to know what was bothering her. Since Aqdas has spent enough time with everyone, they all feel comfortable around him, that is why in stead of keeping things to herself, Zoya told him everything. What I said in the previous review was elaborated in this episode, Zoya obviously was disappointed seeing everyone’s reactions because she knew things would’ve been totally different if they had found out that the story was written by Zoya. Also, Zoya was hurt because she knows how many sacrifices she had to made in order to keep everyone happy. Aqdas always found Zoya interesting but this was the first time he could see how talented & capable she was, he could see that she needed little encouragement & support to chase her dreams because she gave up plenty of them to meet her family’s standards & that’s when he knew she was the one for him. Just because of this conversation, Zoya ended up understanding that whatever happened wasn’t Shaina’s mistake & she wasn’t at fault that everyone had different standards when it came to her. It was good that they both sorted things out & Zoya realized that there was no point in keeping grudges against Shaina!

Aqdas obviously told Faseeha to come so that he could introduce her to Zoya but even his mother along with Hajra assumed that he liked Shaina. Shaina also seemed happy with what Hajra told her because just before that, she saw how Aqdas was trying to advocate her in front of Zoya, so it was natural of her to misunderstand that he was doing all of that because he was interested in her! But I must say, out of all the people, the best misunderstanding was the one that Zaitoon had where she thought just because Aqdas was shifting to his own apartment & he was calling Faseeha, he’d be needing cultery & crockery like his mother, lol! Hahah!

The funniest bit was how because of Laila’s diet Zaitoon’s hardwork went down the drain. This entire scenario is basically a depiction of 2 things which are prevalent in our society, where ladies fall prey to the claims that are made by Baba jees & lack of faith in Allah’s Decree. Even though they gave it a humorous spin but the message was loud & clear that even if an immediate family has no issues, one relative or the other will force you to do things that you have never thought of before. Zaitoon advocated & defended Laila in front of Anila but she somehow convinced Zaitoon to give in!

Overall, it was a fun episode & now it feels I have formed a connection with all these characters so much that they just warm my heart. I will once again thank Faiza Iftikhar for coming up with such a brilliant story with such beautiful characters. It is amazing how it has been shown that despite their differences, all these family members live together because their courtesy & respect for one another outbids their differences – a beautiful message. Needless to say, all the actors are doing a wonderful job but in my opinion, this has to be Irsa Ghazal’s best performance so far. It is so refreshing to see her play such a loud & rightfully opinionated character. I lol’ed at her jhooti tareef of badmaza kheer, haha! Please share your thoughts about this beautiful episode of Aangan!

Shayyad Episode 10 Review – Simply Beautiful!

Tonight’s episode of Shayyad was brilliantly directed and it was extremely poignant. With this episode the story moved forward to the next phase in a beautiful and impactful manner. Saad and Hani’s relationship was covered faultlessly in these 10 episodes; from that moment when Saad even as a kid felt he needed to shield Hani from all the pain and sorrows that come her way to the time when Hani told him that she felt he could not protect her, every single scene between them added something tangible to this track and added more life to their characters. Saad’s character has been the most important character in this drama right from the start which is also one of the reasons why Shayyad is not just another love story. Watching a male character take the lead for a change and showing his vulnerabilities has been truly refreshing so far since Saad has never been turned into a victim. Hani’s character has greatly influenced Saad’s story for obvious reasons but Saad’s character continues to be more appealing.

Tonight’s episode covered a great deal and covering so many important developments in a short span of time in such an impactful manner was nothing short of brilliance. The writer Faiza Iftikhar gave Saad and Hani’s love story a tear-jerking turn and the director Syed Ali Raza made the entire scenario even more powerful by adding the right kind of background music and by showing flashback scenes which added to the beauty of these scenes. Saad looked after Salar in this episode and did not blame Hani for thinking the way she did because he felt that in some way he was responsible for the accident. These hospital visits and Hani’s apology later on was shown convincingly. Saad realized that he was wrong at some level and he tried to make up for that, something that made his character even more likeable. Salar’s accident served as a reality check for Saad and he decided that he could not force Hani to love him. Having said that, there were some scenes which suggested that Hani did love Saad but since she was orphaned at a young age, she wanted to be with an older man who she felt could give her security.

Shayyad Episode 10 Review - Simply Beautiful!

Saad’s mother’s frame of mind in particular was covered superbly in this episode. I am sure that just like me, the viewers did not have any difficulty relating to the decisions she made today and some of the things she decided to “overlook”. She admitted that she always knew that Saad loved Hani but she felt that her son deserved better. She also decided to ignore the fact that Salar was under the influence of alcohol when he had the accident. She wanted Hani out of the house now more than ever before because now everyone knew how Saad felt about her. She also desperately wanted her son to move on which is why she suggested that he should move abroad. Saad felt betrayed and also resigned to his fate which is why he decided to finally throw one thing which made him feel more closer to Hani in the same well where Hani rejected his love for her. This scene was one of the most beautiful and emotional scenes of tonight’s episode. Saad’s dance on Hani’s wedding and Saad and Hani’s final meeting before her baraat was also shot beautifully. This episode had some of the most emotional scenes to its credit which deserve to be watched over and over again. Saad and Hani’s track got the perfect “farewell” for now and the next phase of their life will start from the next episode.

Uzair Jaswal and Nauman Ijaz performed exceptionally well in tonight’s episode as well but this episode definitely belonged to the director who did complete justice to every single scene. These 10 episodes of Shayyad were entertaining and well-paced. I am eagerly looking forward to the upcoming episode.

O Rangreza Episode 24 – Review!

Ohkay so, I think it’s about time that this drama should end because it is becoming a task to sit through its episodes. The writer has conveyed what he wanted to & now its up to the viewers to interpret & decipher it however they deem fit & to be honest when it comes to me, I am still struggling to find out the purpose. Is this drama different? Yes! But is it going to stay with me after it ends? No!

For the last time Sonia tried to stop Sassi from falling into deep pit of fame & show business but Sassi chose to overlook her sincerity. Since Sonia has touched the fame & has also seen the emotional & mental destruction it causes up close, she wanted to save Sassi because she genuinely is concerned about her but Sassi is someone who would even get destroyed on her own terms & conditions!

The way Sassi got back at Sonia was sickening & at first it did seem that may be her rebelliousness & boistrous nature will win her something but seriously, after getting to know her more & more, I feel she will end up exactly like Sonia Jahan or may be worse. At least Sonia had a heart & despite touching the fame, she was still humane but Sassi leaves me speechless. I think the writer got confused & forgot that being strong doesn’t mean one is heartless or emotionless but sorry, Sassi might be strong but she is shallow, empty from within! Kya expect kiya tha aur ye kya nikli! I remember I was totally up for Sassi’s character when this drama began & even understood her but not anymore, I am unable to connect to her character seeing how cold & inhumane she is!

This Tipu being the owner of Haveli scenario is absolutely forced & serves so purpose whatsoever. First Tipu tells Meena that they’ll move back to London, then in order to convince her, he makes her the owner of the Haveli & proposes her? Matlab kuch bhi? To be honest, Meena’s cluelessness when Qasim told her about Tipu’s intention was cringe worthy. Meena has spent enough time with Tipu to know that he is nothing but a liar. Meena has spent enough time with Tipu to know that he doesn’t have a soft corner for his family members so how did she assume that Tipu was telling her the truth that he was going to take care of the family? Meena knew about the clause in the contract, yet she chose to believe Tipu? The way Meena behaves seriously makes me feel she comes from a small town or a remote village to not have a know how of how things roll or to see through someone’s clear yet evil intentions because if she was educated or as suggested that she comes from London, she would’ve known better considering the exposure she must’ve had. Meena lets Tipu fool her every single time & she acts like his puppet! Seriously!

So, Khayyam gave up in front of Sassi, he surrendered because he can see that she is a gone case & there’s no point in taming her. Khayyam has lost everything, he lost at being a good father, a good husband, he also almost has lost those reasons for which he fell in love with Sonia Jahan & he has also lost his respect. The only reason why he is still taking care of Sonia is because his courtesy has overtaken his love for her & that’s about it!

Even though they gave it away in the precap of the next episode, but seeing Qasim’s agitation, I actually thought to myself that he might get married to Meena to save the entire family from Tipu & his evil plans & that’s exactly what is going to happen. Now that I am thinking about Tipu’s character, I still stand by what I said earlier that this drama would’ve been excellent without his addition. What a waste of time & screen space!

This entire tossing & teasing equation that Wajih & Sassi share is boring. Sassi is out to prove something to Wajih which she time & again does, still he makes a point to let her know that she is falling short of one thing or the other. Boring!

Going by what Sassi said to Qasim in the preview of the next episode tells me that she will now find herself a new job of pestering & guilt-tripping Qasim because her ego won’t allow her to accept that he got married to Meena & that he chose Meena over her! Also, I won’t be surprised IF Qasim will leave Meena because he’ll be like Sassi said so! Whatever! Please share your thoughts about this episode of O Rangreza!

Teri Raza Episode 27 Review – Cringe Worthy!

Ohkay so, to be honest, I enjoyed this episode for a weird reason & that was because Suhana was getting bashed from every side. I loved how Suhana was getting exposed & on top of that she was being mistreated by Rameez but then again, the writer has made her this royalty who can get away with everything that is why, the punishment that she was getting had less or no impact!

Suhana claimed that she was not in contact with Imtiyaz, but did she really think people are going to buy that since she runs a business owned & financed by him? I literally cringed so hard the moment Suhana called & cried in front of Imtiyaz? Why is it that the oh so Khud-dar Suhana only now cries in front of Imtiyaz because she knows that he will take care of her financial burdens? It was just so typical of her to call & shed a few tears saying Seema was insulting her? If Suhana had an ounce of dignity or respect, she would have kept things to herself & had tried taking care of the business on her own. Just because Suhana knows she has Imtiyaz’s support, she thinks no one is entitled to say anything to her, not even her father! It is amusing that Suhana didn’t mind estranging her father because she got another Godfather who now deems her as his responsibility!

The writer is now trying to present Suhana as a damsel in distress because Rameez is totally different to what she expected him to be but then again, that is her own fault isn’t it, because she very well knew what sort of an irresponsible person Rameez was, so why did she get married to him expecting him to change? It is funny, Suhana was unhappy with Imtiyaz even after he was taking care of everything that she ever wanted & now she is again unhappy with the man of her dreams because he is not what she expected him to be & he isn’t changing? To be honest, when I see her mother in law scheming with Rameez so that Suhana keeps on working makes me think it definitely serves her right!

Imtiyaz really should have known better. It was sad that Suhana ended up ruining Seema & Imtiyaz’s relationship once again & what’s bizarre was that she chose to play innocent saying she had no idea why Imtiyaz took such a decision, like really? Seema did the right thing by barging into her home & insulting her because this is exactly what she deserves but unfortunately, Suhana is beizzati proof! Talat leaves me speechless, she insults Suhana & then scurries back to pacify her, no wonder why Suhana is so messed up, because her parents failed at parenting!

The preview of the next episode was filled with cringe alerts too. Suhana will once again come face to face with her father, seriously? We are done with Suhana’s mohim of seeking izzat for her good-for-nothing spouse jiss ki wo khud izzat nahi karti. Also, in the preview Suhana was heard saying ‘Imtiyaz ne mujhe chora, tum to mujhe nahi choro ge na’, seriously? Is she really implying that Imtiyaz was disloyal & not sincere with her? Is she using that card to play the victim again? Has she actually forgotten that she created a havoc in Imtiyaz’s life & cheated on him because of which he set her free basically doing her a favor so that she can be with Rameez but oh well, what can be expected from such a conceited, arrogant & selfish character. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Teri Raza.

Baaghi Episode 24 Review – Overload of Majbooris

Every week I tune into this drama hoping that it will give me something interesting to watch and talk about but Baaghi has turned out to be one of the most overrated dramas of this season. The script isn’t just dull and repetitive but also lacks depth altogether, the dialogues are too plain, the scenarios never have anything new to offer, the focus has been entirely on Kanwal’s character yet her character is one-dimensional just like all the other characters in the play and the fact that the writer has left no stone unturned to plead Kanwal’s case makes this drama even more unappealing. The cautious approach of the writer is the biggest reason for this lackluster script. Also, the pace of the drama is painfully slow and the scenes covering Kanwal’s videos are stretched for no reason. Kanwal’s character is more annoying than interesting and the screenplay does not have the kind of flow you would expect it to have since I expected better from a writer like Umera Ahmed. There are dramas in which every character has a story to tell and then there are dramas like Baaghi in which even the leading characters don’t have a definite story. Kanwal for instance has been tagged as “baaghi” for some reason yet her life is constantly being driven by the people around her, her strengths have been relegated to the background and her weaknesses have been accentuated to such an extent that her character has lost all its appeal.

This episode showed how Kanwal’s younger brother had changed over the years and it is easy to tell where this track is leading. Kanwal and Shehryar have grown closer in all these years but their conversations still revolve around the same issues! Even after all this time Shehryar still asks Kanwal the same question he was asking few years back!! Kanwal’s pappi pait dialogues fell completely flat since the overload of majbooris in every episode doesn’t help her track in any way.

Baaghi Episode 24 Review - Overload of Majbooris

At the end of the day we all watch dramas because we want to be entertained and there are a lot of dramas with serious storylines which keep the viewers engaged but for me Baaghi is definitely not such a drama. Saba Qamar has given better performances in her career and has definitely played more meaty roles as well. Watching her mimic Qandeel Baloch is just plain sad because she is capable of so much more. I feel that the producers completely failed to tell Qandeel’s story in an impactful manner because they were too busy “covering up” for some reason! This drama is definitely a winner in the ratings race but personally I have always found it really difficult to sit through almost all the episodes of Baaghi. It is getting more annoying with every passing episode and therefore this will be my last review of Baaghi. I would like to thank all those wonderful readers who read my reviews and gave me their feedback even when they were not following the drama.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 9 Review – Right On Point!

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila continues to be one of the most intelligently written plays on air at the moment. The variety of characters, impressive screenplay and realistic performances make this drama a must watch. The drama has also picked up pace and unlike before every episode offers something new. Tonight’s episode focused on Bari Aapa’s bizarre proposal which was readily accepted by those members of the family who thought that Sila and Joi’s marriage will help further their interests in some way. Everyone’s reaction was different and interesting in their own way. All these reactions were covered impressively as well.

I am glad that it wasn’t a Sila against the word kind of a situation but there were plenty of people who could see just how inappropriate and unfair this decision was. The fact that the writer has told this story without any reservations and has allowed the viewers to draw conclusions from different events makes it more attractive. Raheel and Zaini once again did whatever they could to help Sila, Sadia did whatever she thought would make Joi change his mind and Tullo and Noshi supported the decision because both of them want to see Raheel and Zaini getting married. Sikandar’s reaction did not come as a surprise as well since he trusts Joi and he would be happy to hand over his responsibilities to him.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 9 Review - Right On Point!

Zaini’s father’s character is another one which is being revealed gradually and is fast becoming my favorite since he is the only one who can see that Joi isn’t as harmless as he appears to be and also someone who truly values his daughter although that is not the norm in Noor Manzil! His reaction when Noshi told him what was going on in the house was priceless. Also, when Bari Aapa told him all those lies, he chose to trust his own daughter. This went to show that how a father’s trust and faith in his daughter can shape up her personality in a good way. Although everyone blames Sila for the “flaws” in her personality but no one except Zaini can see that her father is the one who is actually responsible for them. This could be because Zaini knows what it’s like to have a father who loves and supports you. The only reason why Sadia and Sila are in this situation is that the man in their lives who is supposed to look after them hasn’t only abandoned them but also holds them responsible for whatever goes wrong in his life.

Like every other episode of this drama, this episode too had many meaningful conversations which revealed a little bit more about the characters. Zaini feels frustrated now because she thinks that Sila is not even trying to change the situation she is in and at the same time she also feels that Sila is stronger than Raheel since she had the guts to tell her father that she did not want to get married to Raheel. While Raheel has “forgiven” Sila, his mother has not been able to do so. It was ironic how Bari Aapa made up so many stories after seeing Raheel and Zaini together but she can never tell what kind of a person Joi is even when she watches him do something which is anything but normal! Bari Aapa’s “blind love” for Joi is the main reason why even those people in the house who can see that he is a twisted character decide to keep their opinion to themselves. Joi constantly devises plans to put Sadia in difficult situations and he always executes them confidently because he knows that he has the support of his Aapa!

Overall, this was another brilliant episode of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila with some exceptional performances to its credit. The director Kashif Nisar has done complete justice to Bee Gul’s script and the honesty with which all the actors have translated their characters on screen clearly shows in the final product. Noor-ul-Hassan’s solid performance as Saleem in this play and his brilliant performances in Aangan and Meeras have completely won me over. Nauman Ijaz, Sakina Samo, Saman Ansari, Aamna Malick, Munazzah Arif and Yumna Zaidi’s performances have been faultless throughout.

The preview of the next episode was powerful. Looking forward to how the story unfolds from here on.

How many of you watched tonight’s episode? Don’t forget to share your thoughts about it.

Films in January 2018

January the first month of the year 2018 has started. This month has no official holiday. Mostly the Bollywood films released at the previous year’s Christmas weekend (25th December) continue their box office success in this month too. The winter season in this month, also results in low business of late shows of films.

Since the resurgence of Urdu cinema in 2013, this month has not attracted film makers and thus the number of the Urdu films in this month remained low. Since 2013, either one or no Urdu film is released in this month every year that too fails to leave much impact. The only successful Urdu film in this month since 2013 is Ho Mann Jahan (Release Date: 1 January 2016). Infact apart from Ho Mann Jahan, no big banner Urdu film has been released in this month since 2013.

Quite unusually a big banner Urdu film is releasing this time, which happens to be the one and only film releasing in this month. The film is releasing on the first weekend of the month and the year 2018. The film is distributed by ARY Films, which has emerged as the most successful distributor of Urdu cinema in recent years. Infact in 2013 both the prominent films Mein Hoon Shahid Afridi (August 2013) and Waar (October 2013) were distributed by ARY Films. The success of both these films especially Waar, eventually resulted in the resurgence of the Urdu cinema.

Parchi (پرچی)
Parchi is the only film releasing in this month. In our country, Lahore and Karachi has been the only two cities where Urdu films are being produced. However in recent years, film makers from Islamabad have also provided some prominent films. It all started from the film Siyaah (May 2013) which was a horror film. Though not successful, it paved the way for further films from Islamabad. Waar (October 2013) another film produced in Islamabad proved a smashing hit after which Jalaibee (March 2015), Janaan (September 2016) and Yalghaar (June 2017) also earned heavily.

The most prominent film making unit from Islamabad comprises of Imran Raza Kazmi, Azfar Jaffri, Hareem Farooq, Osman Khalid Butt. Together in various capacities they have collaborated for films Siyaah and Janaan. The same team is coming up with the film Parchi now.

The first film Siyaah was a horror film, Janaan was a romantic drama and Parchi is a comedy film. Hareem Farooq is one common name in all these three films. She played the lead in Siyaah, had a cameo appearance in Janaan and is now again a lead in Parchi. Hareem is the only female lead in this film.

Apart from Hareem, there are three male leads in the film Ahmed Ali Akber, Ali Rehman Khan and Usman Mukhtar

Ali Rehman Khan’s first film was Janaan and Parchi is his second film. His performance especially comic timing was appreciated in Janaan and in Parchi he also has a strong role.

Ahmed Ali Hassan has appeared in multiple films in supporting or cameos like Tamanna, Karachi Se Lahore and Ho Mann Jahan. After Karachi Se Lahore, in Parchi he is appearing in a prominent role.

Usman Mukhtar’s first film was also Janaan in which he played a supporting role. Paired with Hania Amir, he impressed with his solid performance. Parchi is his second film and here he is playing the lead male character. Along with Ali Rehman Khan, he is also part of the romantic love triangle of the film.

Parchi is directed by Azfar Jaffri who earlier directed Siyaah and Janaan.

The first teaser of Parchi was released in October 2017 and was an instant hit. The trailer was released in November 2017 along with the music. The film has four songs out of which Billo has been the most famous one. Billo is a catchy dance number choreographed by Osman Khalid Butt.

Khudgarz Episode 5 & 6 Review – Very Interesting & Convincing!

Ohkay so, the first 4 episodes of Khudgarz were interesting because the subject & the characters were getting introduced but these two episodes were of some other level & it is safe to say that this drama has now kickstarted. From direction to acting to dialogues & the way the scenarios were unfolded, every single thing was spot on & very very convincing & now I can’t wait to see what the team of Khudgarz has in store for the viewers!

Aairah & Junaid had a similar approach towards their relationship & because they both knew that there was no way out, the best they could do to make things work was to become each other friends as they could see that it would make things less awkward for both of them. Aairah’s opinion about not opting for divorce was convincing, it was like she knew that both Aairah & Junaid got married to save the family from becoming a laughing stock & now if she would go for divorce, it would defy the purpose for which they got married in the first place.

The way Aairah tried to bring Junaid out of depression & forced him to overcome his guilt was beautiful. She was trying to be his friend in true sense by understanding how hard things were on him, especially when she could see that Junaid kept his emotions & feelings bottled up & had no one to confide in. Junaid also opened up in front of Aairah as she gave him that comfort zone. At least after facing insults from Hassan, Aairah & Junaid knew that they both had each other by their side, as friends & as two people who were in the same boat!

After Aairah & Junaid’s bonding, the best thing that happened in this episode was Abeer’s desicion of seeking help from Aairah. The way Aairah instilled the confidence in her & the changes Abeer brought in herself & her approach were brilliant. I must say, I don’t remember any such drama in which depression was portrayed & dealt with so convincingly. It was absolutely perfect how it was shown that Abeer excelled at what she did in her professional life but when it came to her personal life, her past experiences shaped her character & those dark times had such a long lasting effect on her that she couldn’t deal with those emotions & ended up facing depression. Abeer’s track has to be the most interesting part of this drama because it touches such a sensitive subject in such a convincing manner. Abeer couldn’t be with her mother because her mom chose not to believe her & now when she once again she needed her support, she knew that her mother won’t be there for her.

Aairah tried to introduce Abeer to the idea of self-love, something that she had forgotten after being betrayed by her step father & by being mistreated by Hassan. Aairah was right in telling her that she needs to step back & take a good look at Hassan because at the moment she was unable to see his mistakes. Raheel’s supportive words also gave Abeer a chance to analyze that she was worth something as well & she was not supposed to act like Hassan’s doormat.

Aairah was deeply affected by Abeer’s story that is why she was introspecting but Junaid served as a good distraction. It was actually quite nice to see both Aairah & Junaid standing upto Hassan for each other & this is what touched Aairah the most because of which she for the first time felt the strength that this relationship carries & the special bond that a husband & wife share!

The emotional transition that Abeer had was so good to see. The way she distanced herself from Hassan actually showed that she was paying heed to whatever Aairah was telling her. A jog in the park & then watching TV peacefully showed that Abeer was now learning to live her life on her own & she was also learning that she didn’t need such a selfish man like Hassan to make her happy.

In the previous review I did say that I feel Hassan gets away with everything because of his parents & their leniency & what happened in this episode proved me right. Just because Hassan shed a few tears in front of his father, he started second guessing himself & felt that he must have wrong his biological son. Hassan has a victim mentality & he loves playing the victim that is why he makes sure to put this to his advantage & it works. It was so bizarre that Hassan’s father got Aairah & Junaid married to save family’s reputation & now he was thinking about their divorce only to please Hassan? He should’ve known better. After this, I totally believe that Hassan is not responsible for the way he is because it’s his parents & their failed parenting which led him to become someone who has anger issues & someone who wants things to go his way, always!

I must say, in the beginning I did think that the story of this drama will revolve around Hassan but seeing how every other character came to the forefront & has so much to offer definitely changed my mind. The focus on Abeer & her depression, Aairah & Junaid’s bonding & Aairah’s roleplay in helping emotionally weak people like Junaid & Abeer make this drama quite interesting & well thought out!

Hassan gets away with everything because the people he is related to, be it his parents or Abeer, allow him to do what he deems fit, that is why Aairah tried to make Abeer understand that no one will ever mistreat her if she wouldn’t allow that to happen. Just because no one has ever dared to confront Hassan, he feels he can treat people the way he likes & because he knows that there are certain people who love him & don’t want to hurt him, he exploits them to his advantage only to make himself feel better & make himself feel that he is worth something, because till date he hasn’t been able to cope up with the rejection he faced!

Overall, this episode was very engaging & very very interesting. The preview of the next episode already has me guessing because I so don’t want to see anything happening to Abeer. Raheel’s character is nice too because he empowers Abeer is subtle ways which she has now started noticing. Amina Sheikh takes the crown this week for such perfect acting. Mansha Pasha has outdone herself as well, she really has given Abeer’s character a perfect treatment. Sami Khan & Syed Jibran have nailed their characters as well. Yasir Nawaz surely knows how to get the best acting out of all these actors, that is why everyone seems to be doing such a perfect job. The direction of this drama is phenomenal too, it just keeps you engaged & doesn’t let your mind get distracted even for a second. Definitely looking forward to the next set of episodes. Film Business, Chupan Chupai Doing Good!

The end of the year 2017 saw the release of three big films with Rangreza and Arth-the destination releasing on 21st December. Both films had the plus points of a big cast and did good promotions too. Rangreza and Arth both were of the same genre and were being considered as big releases from the times they were announced.

Rangreza:

Film Business, Chupan Chupai Doing Good!

Rangreza had Bilal Ashraf, Urwa Hocane and Gohar Rasheed among the lead cast and the music was beautiful too but the film has disappointed at the box office garnering nearly 2 crores since its release.

Arth-The Destination:

Film Business, Chupan Chupai Doing Good!

Arth-the destination was sort of a comeback for Shaan Shahid towards the romantic genre and flaunted a very talented cast including Humaima Malik, Mohib Mirza and Uzma Hassan. But the film did not perform well at the box office with collections somewhat more than 2 crores which were unexpected as well as disappointing.

Cupan Chupai:

Film Business, Chupan Chupai Doing Good!

Chupan Chupai has proved to be a chupi rustam garnering 1.7 crores only in four days. The comedy starring Neelam Muneer and Ahsan Khan in lead roles has sat well with the audience making the end of the year good for box office.

Alif Allah Aur Insaan Episode 37 Review – Decent Episode!

Ohkay so, it was yet another decent episode of Alif Allah Aur Insaan, but I did find the editing a bit choppy & the acting of most of the actors a bit off but still the fact that things are being wrapped up compensates a great deal for all these weakenesses!

Nazneen obviously has some serious trust issues, even though she went with what her heart told her, she was finding it hard to accept that Taimur was being honest with her. Nazneen’s outburst was basically a depiction of those complexes that she harbored after failing at relationships, especially with Basit because he also loved her but couldn’t be with her, that is why she was having a hard time believing that Taimur was any different!

Taimur finally told his parents after hesitating a bit & as usual the hell broke loose, but then again, his parents should really give up the idea of childhood committment because it is pretty old school of them to expect that Taimur would fulfill their wishes by sacrificing his own!

Rani was now understanding what her mother used to tell her about keeping her dignity intact but now its too late & she can’t really undo her mistakes so all she’s left with are regrets. It is good that she has Shammo by her side but still, I would love to see her reuniting with her mother. Raani’s younger sister was also getting trapped due to her urge of earning more money but her parents found out, thankfully she won’t commit the mistakes that Rani did!

Arsalan’s condition worsened & out of everyone Roshni grew suspicious that it could be Shaheer’s doing. Not sure when this secret will be revealed about Shaheer but I could totally see this coming when I had a feeling that Arsalan might die.

Overall, it was a decent episode. Let’s see if Shahzeb will help Zimmal or not. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Alif Allah Aur Insaan.
