Visaal Episode 9 & 10 Review – Engaging & Entertaining!

Ohkay so, these two episodes of Visaal were pretty interesting & thoroughly entertaining. Visaal has become one such drama that I actually look forward to & enjoy watching. The story is simple, the execution is simpler but the overall impact, despite being simple is somewhat magical. It is like you are not watching a drama but a tale…the sepia tone with that music in the background really take the overall experience of watching Visaal a notch higher!

Akram decided to become Akku in front of Naheed for the very first encounter they were going to have. It is because Akram is not only not interested in Naheed, but also because he is not in love with her. I was actually surprised to see Akram pulling off this stunt because he wasn’t scared of Molvi Ghufran or his image, considering Naheed could tell on him.

Naheed’s aloofness & cold attitude just shows how she is not happy with this marriage. Akram doesn’t meet Naheed’s expectations & standards that she had set for her life partner. She just surrendered & that is why she herself is in no mood to make things work that is why even after seeing Akram’s reality, she just didn’t react, or may be she assumed that he was being a bit too casual in front of her now that she was his wife? But then again, the kind of conversation Akram had with Naheed, talking about the boys who must’ve been interested in her should’ve shaken Naheed a bit at least but she really didn’t seem bothered. This entire behavior of Naheed actually sheds a light on the emotional battle that she is fighting within. Naheed can not seem to concentrate on anything because the guilt of betraying her best friend Pari, the one who trusts Naheed with her life, is weighing her down. Even though Naheed poses to be all normal but deep inside, she has this mayhem which is her undoing. As I was thinking about it, I would hate to see Molvi Ghufran & his wife getting hurt & betrayed by Akram but honestly, this is something that Naheed has called upon her, herself!

Finally, Shabbir & Pari were back on track. Shabbir himself saw how Pari isolated herself & to some extent was punishing herself too & being a loving father that he is, he just couldn’t ignore his daughter anymore. It was so sweet to see Shabbir putting every ounce of embarrassment aside, only to promise Pari that he will take her to see Naheed. Shabbir knows that Naheed means so much to Pari, that is why, he wanted to make her happy. The conversation that Pari & Shabbir had trying to bring themselves to find out who it was that destroyed their lives was so heart-renching. Shabbir thought it must be someone ‘new’ someone who didn’t know Shabbir & Pari personally to do something like this. I wonder what their reaction will be when they will find out that it was Naheed?

Shabbir was already in hot water at his job & people thought merging his personal life with his professional was their right, that is why, they not only demoted him from his position but also decided to elect a new union leader too. It was good to see Shabbir fighting for his rights but then, there was not much that he could do as he never ever imagined that this professional animosity would take such an ugly turn that he’d get attacked like that.

Akram finally got to meet Pari, the girl of his dreams but then his friend also told him that she was recently involved in a scandal. I liked that even though Akram has an ulterior motive, he decided to get to the root of this issue & I truly believe he is the only one who can solve this case. Yes, he is doing it for his love of Pari but I am kind of relieved that he has Naheed in his grip, that will make things quite interesting & I am sure a bit difficult for him too because Naheed will try to steer him away from the clues that might get him closer to her; the culprit! I so wish, Taimur had manned up a bit & contacted Shabbir or Pari on a personal level but he just ran away. Yes, Taimur does feel bad & wants to fix everything but then again, he left everything behind like a coward. Taimur is wise enough to know how this scandal must be affecting Shabbir & Pari so in stead of listening to others, he should take matters in his hands!

Overall, I really really enjoyed watching these two episodes & it just keeps on getting better but then again, praising any drama these days seems like a bad idea because it then guarantees unnecessary prolonging & dragging if it starts doing well with the audience. I so hope that is not the case with Visaal. At first, I was not feeling Zahid Ahmed’s acting but now he has won me over, I really enjoy Akram’s subtle conniving attitude which Zahid has portrayed brilliantly. Saboor Ali as well as Hania Amir are doing a great job too. I am not sure why Tauqeer Nasir is overplaying a majboor baap, his expressions give the vibe of it being an ‘act’ & not a natural peformance. Anyways, I am looking forward to the next episode. The celebrity couple Aiman Khan and Muneeb Butt are loved by millions. Now, there is a great news for the fans as the couple is gearing to star together in Moomal Entertainment’s upcoming drama “Baandi”.

Aiman Khan And Muneeb Butt To Star In Moomal Entertainment's Baandi!

Moomal is bringing up a very talented team for this project. Baandi is written by Asma Nabeel, who is the writer of Khaani which has done extremely well since it aired on television. Baandi is the story of a 17-year-old girl, MeeruĀ who suffers atrocities just because she is born in a low-labour class. It takes us on a journey of a girl who goes through the worst of worst situations to find a place for herself. The writer said:

This project is very close to my heart. The subject which we are catering through this drama is very sensitive, which will raise many questions and attempt to answer them.

She further adds that she cannot reveal much about Baandi for now but the only aspect she would like to highlight through it is that Ghulams and Baandis time is over.

Aiman Khan And Muneeb Butt To Star In Moomal Entertainment's Baandi!

Baandi will be directed by Syed Ahmed Kamran who has Libas, Digest Writer, Chemistry and the on-air HUM Tv drama Zun Mureed to his credit.

Aiman Khan And Muneeb Butt To Star In Moomal Entertainment's Baandi!

Rafay Rashdi, the managing partner at Moomal Entertainment while talking about Baandi said:

The major focus in our dramas are mostly on relationships, but Moomal is trying to change this perception. We are trying to cater such social issues which have been prevailing in our society from quite a time, but unfortunately we oversee them. Baandi will depict the lives of labor class, their issues, how they get exploited and tortured.

Aiman Khan and Muneeb Butt were last seen together on screen in Zindaan. It will be a treat for their fans to see the real-life couple again together in reel life!

Aangan Episode 32 & 33 – Review!

Ohkay so, these two episodes of Aangan were pretty decent but slow. I did enjoy them in bits & pieces but overall I feel the drama has become a bit too slow with focus being shifted on side characters a bit too much. Also, I feel Asim & Laila’s case has been hanging in the lurch & may be other scenarios are being brought to the forefront so that the viewers forget or stop paying heed to the multiple wives scenario too much.

Aqdas decided to put things into perspective but Zoya chose not to pay heed to what her husband was saying. I really don’t want to use this term for her but Zoya started acting like someone who got way more than she deserved & now thinks the world’s at her mercy, including her parents & those brothers who raised her with love & care. May be if they had shown slight changes in Zoya, it would have looked a bit realistic but to see her entire personality flip in such a short span of time didn’t seem as convincing. Zoya’s concerns related to her dark circles or eye bags once again showed that she is not only mindful of the fact that she is older to Aqdas, but is complexed about it too. Anyways, it was good that Sajjad took care of the situation & told Zoya to be who she was, because Zoya herself was not very familiar with this newer version of herself, she backtracked pretty quickly & decided to undo the pain she had caused to Abba Jee. Phew, one less Anila to worry about & deal with!

Asim & Laila’s case has come to a standstill & nothing much has been done about it. Laila is just trying to pick up the pieces & move on. My favourite scene from these 2 episodes was a conversation between Laila & Zahid where he just tried to make her see the other side of the picture too. Even though Zahid advocated what others are doing for Laila & as much as I liked what he told her, I still felt bad for Laila because she now had to be mindful of the favours others were doing for her & the efforts they were putting in to help her emotionally. Laila was just dealing with this hardship on her own, she was not thinking about anything or anyone but then Zahid’s reminders forced her to realize that she was living with her in-laws after all & even if they were being accommodating, Laila still had to be conscious even when everything in her life has turned upside down!

To be honest, I enjoy the comic quotient that Anila & Allauddin bring to the drama but as much as I still enjoy watching Allauddin, I am afraid I can’t say that about Anila anymore because she to me now seems annoying. I am not sure what it is, the monotony of her character where she always typically stirs the pot or ZQ’s over-acting where she is trying really really hard to be Anila? Just there is something about this particular character that stopped working for me weeks ago but I felt I should just let it out now!

Well, Shafiq came with an intent of demanding his part in the property. I am not too sure how I feel about this scenario. Yes, it would be good to see the entire family sticking together & sorting this issue out but I feel those who are living abroad have been painted negatively in Aangan. As typical as it may sound, it would have been so much better that if not positive, they had kept things the way they were with Shafiq always finding excuses to not help his family back-home because if this is one reality, the other reality is that so many people live outside Pakistan in very tough & uncomfortable conditions only to support their families back-home. I was actually looking forward to Shafiq’s visit because I thought things will get super interesting when Anila will be expecting Waleed’s proposal for one of her daughters but Shafiq might be interested in Shaina but this twist is not something that I am keen on. Sajjad has been crying buckets for werks now & it is upsetting to see him that way, I genuinely feel for him because being someone who has BP issues, that guy is going through a lot by taking care of Asim, Sadaan, Abba Jee, Afrah & even Zoya, that too without an ounce of support from his wife Hajra who is just being a stone now – something that I am not too happy with either.

Haseena has slowly started to expect a lot more from Asim but he has nothing to give to her. Again, it upsets me that when Asim was well aware of the position & limited space he could give to Haseena, why did he marry her in the first place? In all the scenes where Asim is with her, he just seems uncomfortable, as if he has been forced to spend time with her.

Rubina & Zahid’s conversations were nice, it was good to see them discussing important matters & not fighting mindlessly for a change. Even though I have always said that I want to see a shift in their attitude towards each other, their relationship the way it is now seems very normal & real & because of that I think the writer has done a good job by till date keeping it exactly how it was introduced.

Please share your thoughts.

Ishq Tamasha Episode 13 Review-WHAT???

The title explains my thoughts about this episode. It was disgusting in a way that I cannot just explain it in words. So, basically, Rushna is the second lead, right? With every havoc she has created with Mirha’s life up till now, today’s episode made her plain despicable. She accepted gifts from Arham, lead him on though she knew that a boy who is sending her such expensive stuff by only seeing her once is definitely a stalker type. She called him to come with his proposal. Then, after all this chaos, when she knows who Arham is and she KNOWS Arham’s brother hates her. When she knows his brother kidnapped Mirha. When she knows Arham is practically killing himself to get her, she asks him Ke Tum Isse Mere Liye Mana Lo?Ā How can the writer come up with this? I like grey characters. Heroines and heroes who are not always good but asking someone who wants to marry you and you used to have late night chats with Ke Mujhe Apne Bhai Ke Saath Set Kara Do? Really? This was one bad idea!

Ishq Tamasha Episode 13 Review-WHAT???

Yes, I am one of those people who hate heroines crying out blood from their eyes for dumb and douchey heroes and IĀ think someone from team Ishq Tamasha heard these thoughts. But wait for a second! They did hear the thoughts but came up with a solution which has the same amount of pain. This time it is not the heroine, it is the hero who was born without self-respect. Rushna disrespected him and his family. She practically kicked his feelings. Arham knows Rushna is the one who could have cleared Mirha’s position but she saved herself and ruined Mirha’s life by not telling the truth. And now! She asked him to convince his brother to MARRY her! A brother Arham knows never met Rushna and still hates her. But since he is the hero version of our regular heroines, he will blame everyone except the one who deserves the blame.

Wahaj is back and he is definitely his mother’s son. He simply classified Mirha to be a characterless girl who ran off and betrayed him. No one in Wahaj’s family including him likes to solve stuff. They make assumptions and go on with them. But it was good to see someone giving a hard time to chachi jaan.

Mirha is going to convince Mehrab to take Arham’s proposal again in the next episode and from the look of things Rushna will think Mehrab has come with his own proposal since no one listens clearly in this drama!

I would love to read your thoughts on Rushna and Arham. Add in the comments section!

Amir Khan IS At It “Again”!

Boxer Amir Khan now does not make any news about his sports. All that is left are dirty scandals. The boxer has gotten into a scandal yet again and no surprises it is again about infidelity.

22-year-old beautician Sophia Hammani has just come forward to share that she had an affair with the boxer. A brief stint will be more appropriate to use for the said engagement. She told The Sun about her encounter with the boxer. She said that she knew Amir was divorced from Faryal after the whole fiasco that went down last year. She later realized that not only was he married but also became a father second time only 17 days before she ran into him.

Amir Khan IS At It "Again"!

According to Sophia, Faryal found her number on Amir’s phone and confronted her. Faryal was civil towards Sophia as according to the beautician they had a “sisterly talk”.

Amir has denied the allegations as he took to TwitterĀ and shared that a very drunk Sophia wanted to click a picture with him but was not allowed by his security and has later pulled off this stunt.

Amir Khan IS At It "Again"!

We do not know who is right but as a father of two beautiful girls at least Amir should try to act maturely!

Malik Riaz Announces To Bear Medical Expenses Of Ailing Majid Jahangir

Majid Jahangir; the ‘Fifty Fifty’ comedian who is an inspiration for many comedians in our country is in dire need to financial assistance owing to his ailing health. After this news was aired Malik Riaz has announced that he will be bearing the actor’s medical expenses.

Malik Riaz Announces To Bear Medical Expenses Of Ailing Majid Jahangir

Early Thursday morning, Junaid Akram, a stand-up comedian who looks up to Jahangir, urged his friends and followers on social media to come forward and assist the veteran actor in whatever way possible.

The comedian’s funds have run dry, having been spent on medical bills, after he lost partial function of his body to paralysis almost three years ago. Some state officials had then stepped up to help him in his treatment.

Akram penned,

“I had been searching for Majid Jehangir for so long and this is how I’ve found him. He’s been my biggest inspiration in comedy. Seeing my hero in this state makes me feel really sad,”Ā

Pakistani actors and actresses have time and again been ignored by the government despite providing decades-long entertainment.

Only recently we have lost actor Matloob-ur-Rehman and actressĀ Nusrat Ara Begum to prolonged ailments. They have essayed roles of Zakoota and Bill Balotri respectively in Ainak Wala Jinn.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 9 Review – Blame Game!

A new episode of Woh Mera Dil Tha finally aired this week! ARY constantly keeps on changing the timings of their dramas which can be terribly annoying especially for those viewers who watch these dramas when they air on television! Thankfully this latest episode aired before we forgot all about what happened in the previous few episodes!

This latest episode opened with Zaid flirting with an ex-girlfriend Sonia because that was the only way he was going to get a job. By the end of this episode however, Saba completely ruined his plans and it looks like Zaid will have to work hard to find a job now. For the first time Zaid’s father said something good about him when he was telling his other son off for asking for money all the time. Apparently, Zaid isn’t as “useless” as he looks and he is capable of using his intelligence for something other than alluring girls. Zaid’s character has tons of potential for character development and even with all his selfishness and flaws, he continues to be the most entertaining part of this drama. Sami Khan’s effortless portrayal is impressive as usual.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 9 Review - Blame Game!

The forced nikkah did not change Zaid and Naina’s personalities and their feelings for each other. The only thing that has changed is that these two hate each other more than ever now! Both of them are constantly trying to avoid each other and Zaid has definitely not changed his ways! Whenever they come across each other, the blame game starts which makes it pretty clear that both of them are not going to accept this relationship anytime soon. I really liked the valima dress scene, the dress served as yet another bitter reminder of how Naina’s life had changed now. Zaid’s sister managed to convince Naina to be part of the valima function, this development too was covered convincingly.

Zaid’s father conversation with his wife covered the reasons why he quit his job. This conversation gave the viewers an insight into what was going through his mind. He also said that he would gladly accept another job if it was offered to him by Naina’s father because it wouldn’t be easy finding a new job. For the first time Naina’s mother was shown thinking about that aspect of this track which somehow is being ignored by everyone. The flashback scene suggested that she was wondering if they had made a wrong decision in haste but later on when she talked to Naina on the phone, she once again ignored what she was trying to say. Even if Naina tells her the truth, what’s done cannot be undone but the fact that she is holding back keeps you wondering when will she eventually come out with the truth!

The change in Naina’s father’s attitude could mean that he might eventually forgive his daughter, which could pave way for Zaid to work with him and make his dreams come true! It is difficult to predict what turn the story will take from here. This latest episode covered the pre-valima decisions and arrangements. Will Naina’s parents change their mind and come to the valima? How will Zaid and Naina survive when they are forced to share the room??!!!! Waiting to find out!

Khamoshi Episode 34 Review-Finally!

So, the time has come for which we waited for 34 episodes. Yes, with some tragic points, this was a great episode.

The thing that made me the happiest is watching Arsala finally acknowledging Shahram’s efforts. Shahram openly made Nasreen apologize to Arsala and cleaned her character slate once and for all. Arsala also for the first time appreciated what he had done for her instead of whining.

Bee Jaan’s demise is not something I wanted to watch. The whole dragging of shelter home episode ending in Bee Jaan’s death was heart-breaking. But the way she treated her son made up for the shock. Yes, for once in Khamoshi someone decided to punish the wrong. Bee Jaan’s will and her disowning Basit is something we all wanted to see. Shahram is also free of Zubiya because of the whole scenario unfolding. Zubiya’s character was extremely weak and today it became weaker. How can a girl celebrate her mother’s public humiliation? The way they showed her making fun of that was absurd but well thought of. Basit’s daughter has to be like Basit and she showed that like her father, she does not respect her mother either.

Khamoshi Episode 34 Review-Finally!

Naima finally got a taste of her doings. But some stuff that happened to her was bad too. Shehnaz completely blamed Arsala’s plight on Naima, like as a mother you were there for her? During the whole drama, Shehnaz did not support Arsala once and now she took the easy way out by evil-eyeing Naima. Same was the case with Atif. He does not want Naima anymore and he also blamed everything on her. Atif is the one who should have understood Arsala’s circumstances but he kept blaming and character-shaming her. But now after everything is out in the open, he started behaving like a masoom chiriya and blamed Naima for everything.

It was good to watch good people winning for once even if their win was subtle. One thing which was too stereotypical was Atif’s blaming keĀ Naima ne mujhe warghala diya. Boy, did you not have your own brain? And we will see a similar thing in the next episode when Basit will slap Nasreen. I think these childish men should take responsibility for once as the drama is ending now.

Did you guys watch the episode? Share your thoughts!

Aamir Liaquat Banned Again!

The politician-host Aamir Liaquat Hussain has a way of getting banned and this time too he didn’t falter. He was hosting Ramadan show on Bol this year. On Friday, a lot of drama was created when he took a call where the caller raised a controversial question. This led to further mismanagement when the whole show was aired un-edited. Ulama started having a heated conversation on sectarianism while the host Mr Aamir Liaquat Husain walked out of the live show.

PEMRA surprisingly took notice of the matter immediately and has banned Dr Aamir Liaquat from appearing on any Tv channel for 30 days. This is the notice issued by PEMRA.

No Indian Films On Eid!

Pakistani Film Industry is flourishing both in the terms of content as well as business. Eid ul Fitr and Eid ul Adha are the two most important occasions when Pakistani films do decent business. Indian films have been the sole source of entertainment for many years till Pakistani cinema revived. Indian films still hinder the business of Pakistani films. Taking this into account, The Ministry of Information has finally taken a good step. The screening of Indian films has been restricted on the occasions of Eid. No Indian film will be screened from two days prior Eid to two weeks after the auspicious occasion. This is a great step as it will give Pakistani movies a lot more chance to flourish in the market. This is the order from the ministry:

No Indian Films On Eid!

Saat Din Mohabbat In and Wajood are releasing on Eid and Parwaz Hai Junoon has been postponed. However after the order Salman Khan’s Race 3 will not be screened!

Mehwish Hayat Records A Punjabi Solo Song!

If we talk about the stars who have been soaring high on the sky of fame and hits, Mehwish Hayat’s name comes foremost. The actress has been a hit at all of her work fronts for some years now. With a superhit like Dillagi on television, she is the most successful actress in Pakistani cinema too. She has given back to back hits like Jawani Phir Nahin Aani and Actor In Law and her Punjab Nahin Jaongi is still running in cinemas though it was released almost a year ago.

Zun Mureed Episode 13 Review – Impressive!

Zun Mureed continues to be poignant and compelling. It gets better with every passing episode and the pace of this drama couldn’t have been more perfect. Every single development is well-thought-out which is why each episode is filled with powerful messages which are conveyed effectively. The fact that the script is realistic makes it easier for the viewers to connect to different scenarios. The character development has also been convincing throughout. This was yet another episode of Zun Mureed which had a lot of important developments to its credit which were presented faultlessly.

For the past few weeks, the writer established this fact really well that Tabbasum wasn’t fighting this case to satisfy her ego but she was doing so to ensure her safety and also because she wanted to set the right example for her daughter. Therefore tonight when Tabbasum felt disappointed when Sajjad didn’t even try to reconcile, it was totally understandable. Perhaps subconsciously she thought that taking the case back was a first step towards a reconciliation. Even though she said that she didn’t want to go back but at the same time she still expected better from Sajjad. It is a fact that at this point, if Sajjad realizes that he was wrong and he decides to make things work, everything will be okay. While Tabbasum’s perspective has always been more practical and sensible, Sajjad has been widely influenced by all the pressure in his own house to take control and to adhere to the gender role which is generally assigned to men in a household. Like many men in our society, he feels that acknowledging his mistake will weaken his “toxic masculinity” which is why he fails to look at things objectively. The only way he can save his manliness now is by “punishing” Tabbsum is the worst way possible. The attitude of his mother pretty much sums up why Sajjad was never taught how to respect his wife and to accept his mistakes!

Tabbasum’s bhabhi yet again played an integral role in making sure that the kids go back to their father’s house and is now doing whatever she can to convince Tabbasum to go back too. Most of the characters in this drama show a certain mindset which is definitely very common in our society. It is impossible to please people and it is even more difficult for women to live life according to their terms and conditions because women are constantly dependent on either their brothers, parents or their husbands. Even women who are economically independent sometimes find it difficult to break free from abusive husbands, a primary example being Sidra, who hasn’t taken a divorce from her husband even after all these years. Even a strong woman like Tabbasum found it difficult to stand her ground and by showing this the writer has realistically shown the challenges faced by someone in such a situation.

All the conversations tonight were beautifully penned down and they were executed flawlessly too. The scenes were to the point and well acted out. Zun Mureed’s script has tons to offer and continues to impress. The preview of the next episode suggested that Sajjad might file for a divorce very soon! This drama can also serve as a reality check for all such men out there, who find pleasure in dominating their wives but let other women in their lives (like their mothers and sisters) control their decisions completely!! Well done team Zun Mureed!

Haara Dil Episode 7 Review — Super Refreshing

One more episode down and we have more reasons to stan it than diss it. Unlike uncountable other Pakistani drama serials Haara Dil has a refreshing take on the characters, it doesn’t divide them in good and evil and that showed so well in this episode of the drama. Life isn’t black and white we can not draw a line and explain this world’s existence by two traits good and evil. Life is complex it is grey it isn’t binary but more like fractions, complicated with many explanations and this drama explores that very well.

We have been introduced with many new characters in the last two episodes including Zeba, Fehmi and the new baby sitter. It is commendable how these characters aren’t portrayed to be inherently good or inherently evil they have got both sides. They don’t play sati savitri or dayan. Neighbors and especially single working women who have developed a crush on a single father have forever been demonized by our drama serials. They are so often the women who want the money or the house or the entire property basically they always have evil and selfish motives to be nice to the people they are being nice to but not here.

Fehmi is independent almost happy but she can not shake the loneliness off which is very human. Zeba is genuinely concerned about Sami and Abrar but she has her limits and loses temper when too much is asked of her which is very human also. After Shagufta’s death and his daughters withdrawal from him Abrar has also become very lonely as he himself mentions when he compares this tragedy with the time when he had lost his entire family in an earthquake and said that the former is more painful and isolating for him than the latter, again a very human thing to feel.

Haara Dil Episode 7 Review --- Super Refreshing

Also the protagonists Momina and Arham aren’t flawless people. Momina is stubborn and wouldn’t let go off this callousness even tho she knows her father and Arham need her support as much as she needs their’s. Both Abeera and Momina are too proud to admit that they are hurting and could use some support right now. We don’t often see the leading lady in our shows playing the bad guy she is always kind, forgiving and over the top nice but again that is where Haara Dil wins Momina is kind but she has her limits. She doesn’t know how to deal with such strong emotions and all that is happening and we can clearly see her struggling to make sense of all of it. Unlike some other leading role Momina isn’t sure of herself she doesn’t know how to deal with all this. She is as clueless as any other normal human being.

Some scenes could have been better like the time Sami was crying and Momina almost held him to comfort him, that was a strong scene and could have been done better than it was. Also Arham and the third wheel friend scene had strong dialogues and could have had more impact on the audience had it been done a bit better.

As predictable as it was Fehmi is meant to be Abrar’s love interest. Usually romance in this age is portrayed as cringy and even disgusting at times but unusually what Abrar and Fehmi have is very innocent and almost like teenage love. They both want someone to be with and also like each other’s company which is very well portrayed so kudos for that.

Momina and Arham are still struggling with their situation meanwhile Abeer continues to rebel against everyone and everything. Zeba has introduced the idea of Fehmi’s marriage to Abrar in Fehmi’s head and we can see that Fehmi agrees. Afaan continues to be the amazing friend that he is to Abrar meanwhile we can see that the baby sitter character is very irresponsible. In new developments due to long absence Abrar has lost his job, now how he will deal with this crisis remains to be seen with many other things.

For those who haven’t seen it yet I won’t spoil the show by giving away the precap of the next episode all I’ll say is stick till the end. Like a good wine this show has aged well and let’s hope it continues to do so.

On a grade of A to F how did you find this episode of Haara dil?

Bela Pur Ki Dayan Episode 15 Review – Interesting!!

Another new episode, another unexpected development and yet another mystery! Who could have thought that a harmless character like that of Shakir would turn out to be this complicated and unpredictable! Rameez’s observations so far have been right on point therefore his remarks about Shakir coupled with everything that happened tonight gave me a few solid reasons to doubt Shakir’s intentions. He is old enough to be Tasha’s father yet he is showing interest in her possibly because he knows that he can contact Neelo through Tasha. At the same time I can’t help but wonder why he would think that getting acquainted with a restless spirit would be a good idea! Nothing that was shown tonight indicated that he wanted to meet Neelo to say goodbye for the last time but he actually seemed amused when Tasha told him what Neelo was planning. The entire scenario was shown in such a manner that it was impossible to make out what Shakir’s actual intentions were. Once again the writer has given the story a turn which makes it more intriguing than ever and the entire team of the drama has done complete justice to the script. The overall feel of this play couldn’t have been better and every single scene has been executed brilliantly. Tasha and Shakir’s interactions were the highlight of this latest episode. Sarah Khan’s performance was chilling to say the least, she translated Tasha’s confusion and fear brilliantly on screen.

This recent episode focused entirely on the present day scenarios and the situation is getting more serious with every passing episode. The police is gradually coming closer to finding out who the actual killer is which makes the story even more thrilling. If Neelo intends to use Tasha to get to Shakir then she will do whatever it takes to save her but the preview of the upcoming episode suggested something entirely different. Even when Rameez told his father everything he witnessed, he did not listen to him at all which was rather strange because usually Aziz isn’t this sure about anyone at all! He has been shown as someone who is most often full of doubts and suspicious of people around him. None of the flashback scenes showed that these two were actually close. The only time they had a real conversation was when Aziz wanted to convince Shakir that he should take practical measures if he wanted to get married to Neelo. Gainda has been out of the picture for quite some time now but tonight Alia suggested that he might be the perfect match for Tasha. It would have been great if he got some screen time in every episode.

Bela Pur Ki Dayan Episode 15 Review - Interesting!!

The story is getting more complicated and dark with every passing episode. So far, everything has been convincing therefore I have high hopes that in the upcoming episodes too the story will be carried forward logically. While watching this drama on television is an exciting experience, watching it online can be quite frustrating! The videos are uploaded late and the voice quality has been extremely disappointing lately. It is really unfair to the viewers and also to all those people who worked so hard to make this drama a success. Most of the people watch these dramas online therefore testing their patience is truly unreasonable! HUM really should know better! Kudos to team Bela Pur Ki Dayan for a job well done and for another superb episode.

‘Parwaaz Hai Junoon’ Release Postponed To Eid ul Azha

Much anticipated Momina and Duraid Films’ ‘Parwaaz Hai Junoon’ will not be making to big-screens this Eid and it looks like all the fans will have to wait a bit more before they get to watch this star studded war film.

In a press release regarding the postponement of the filmĀ producer of PHJ Momina Duraid said,

ā€œThere are six films releasing this Eid and currently our industry is not strong enough to support the release of so many films together. It is indeed a reason of concern for all the producers as it will be difficult for the films to break even if released together, considering the number of screens and shows available.ā€

'Parwaaz Hai Junoon' Release Postponed To Eid ul Azha

She further added that in the broader interest of the industry her firm has decided to pull out from the Eid race. Momina stated,

ā€œWe strongly feel that this is the right thing to do in the current scenario and as members of the fraternity, we need to put aside personal agendas and support each other in order to achieve the greater goal,ā€Ā

‘Parwaaz Hai Junoon’ is a multi-starrer war film based on Pakistan Air Force that has names likeĀ Hamza Ali Abbasi, Hania Aamir, Kubra Khan and Ahad Raza Mir in it’s cast and will now be released on Eidul Azha 2018 worldwide.

Humaira Arshad Files For Khula Once Again

The ‘Sada Hoon Apne Pyaar Ki’ singer Humaira Arshad has been in news for filing a divorce from her husband actor Ahmad Butt.

The singer approached a family court in Lahore on Wednesday to file a petition to start divorce proceedings once humagain. She had withdrawn her earlier plea for khula in January this year.

Humaira Arshad Files For Khula Once Again

While speaking to media outside the court the singer said,

ā€œFor the sake of my son, I had reconciled with my husband despite all our differences,ā€

She further added,

ā€œBut I cannot live with him anymore as I am subjected to violence and am fed up of daily fights,ā€

The ghazal singer has been in a testing relationship with her husband and the couple has publicly accused each other of fraud and abuse, among other things on multiple occasions.

Humaira Arshad Files For Khula Once Again

The two tied the knot in 2004. Back in May 2015, Humaira formally announced she and her husband were separating ways. But in November 2016, she said that she and Butt had set aside their differences and agreed to live together again.

The matter surfaced once again in November 2017 as Humaira leveled accusations against her husband, alleging that he attacked her home and beat up her family. Following the allegations, the couple reconciled once again as Humaira withdrew her earlier divorce plea on January 9 this year.

Humaira Arshad has said in the past that Butt insulted her in front of their neighbours, beating her in public and pulling her hair, all of which had led to a lot of stress and embarrassment.

Suno Chanda Episode 1 to 5 Review – Thoroughly Entertaining

Written By: Saima Akram Chaudhry
Directed By: Aehsun Talish
Produced By: MD Productions

Suno Chanda is delightful, entertaining and gripping Ramazan special show. The overall concept of the show is somewhat like Aangan but unlike Aangan, it doesn’t have any underlying messages so far and is pure entertainment. Also, unlike Aangan, all the characters are not equally appealing but the main protagonists Jiya and Arsal are the main attraction of the show. Their track and relationship gives this comedy serial a definite edge. Iqra Aziz and Farhan Saeed’s on-screen chemistry and their performances are the highlight of every episode. The witty and humorous script makes it a must-watch. Apart from the unnecessary thappars which seem completely out of place and are in bad taste, everything else about this show is picture perfect. The fact that Arsal and Jiya get a lot of screen time in every episode also makes the show more interesting. The pace of this drama is perfect and even though it airs daily, it still entertains. Jiya and Arsal’s nok/jhok and relationship has been penned down and executed brilliantly.

Suno Chanda is the story of a joint family – 2 brothers, their wives and children and their sister and brother in law who are very involved in everything which happens in the house. Jiya and Arsal were forced into a nikkah by their grandfather before he passed away and now even though they are poles apart and cannot stand each other, they are going to get formally married really soon. The pace of these first 5 episodes couldn’t have been better. These episodes focused entirely on highlighting the reasons why Jiya and Arsal cannot stand each other and how desperately they are constantly trying to ensure that this marriage doesn’t take place. Some of the situations aren’t always convincing but then this isn’t the kind of show that should be over analyzed.

Suno Chanda Episode 1 to 5 Review - Thoroughly Entertaining

Bi Jaan (Samina Ahmed) is the head of this household and Agha Ji (Syed Muhammad Ahmed) is her dead husband’s brother and also someone she was romantically involved with beofre getting married. Samina Ahmed and Muhammad Ahmed both are remarkable actors and it is a delight watching them performing these roles. There are plenty of situations in the drama in which the comic element takes the lead even when there is a history and emotions attached to a certain situation. Right now Agha Ji’s son seems like the perfect match for Jiya and Kinza could be the ideal partner for Arsal but it is also highly likely that at some point Arsal and Jiya’s feelings for each other will completely change. Arsal and Jiya are constantly shown plotting and planning to get each other in trouble basically to make sure that they don’t get married. Some of these plans are funny, others are just plain cruel and few of them totally backfire. Arsal’s latest adventure was one such plan which backfired. The recent episode turned the story around because for the first time Arsal might have a reason to feel guilty although right now he is wrongfully blaming Jiya for whatever happened. DJ’s character is hilarious, the child star Sami playing the role has nailed his character. He is a natural, who always enjoys and does justice to every role assigned to him, I am very impressed by his acting.

Suno Chanda is a nice break from all those comic drama serials which rely heavily on cheap comedy. It is witty, hilarious, involving and definitely a must watch!

The Not So Often Of Pakistani Dramas!

0

After the Oh so often, there has to be a NOT SO OFTEN! And here it is. From character shamming the leading lady to zaalim susrals, we get these sequences like in every second drama we watch. But here are some sequences which made our days in one way or the other. Some points we would like to see getting along more often. Let’s start with some not so oftens of Pakistani dramas:

No Muafi:

Forgiveness is a part of our faith. It is indeed a very important thing and is taught to us from the very beginning of our lives. Be it parents, teachers, entertainment or general curriculum, we are always taught to forgive the ones who have wronged us. This concept is used again and again in our dramas too. There is always a heroine who is crushed and humiliated by 5000 people and what does she do? She FORGIVES! I know this sounds poetic and is a good thing to preach but it is not very relatable all the time. There are times when forgivenessĀ by our heroine ruins the whole drama. Dil e Muzter is an example where Sila forgiving Adil literally ruined the whole ending. People who do wrong should be punished a little. All the time muafi is not something viewers look forward to. Maat is a drama where no muafi at the end made my year, yes not day, the whole year. Amina Sheikh’s Sheh Maat showed how the real world works. A human cannot be a fairy godmother who keeps forgiving for no reason at all. Maat’s ending was a strong not so often of Pakistani dramas and the scene is something that can be watched thousands of times.

The Not So Often Of Pakistani Dramas!

A Jerk Is A Jerk Even If Handsome:

Another concept of Pakistani dramas is that you can get away with literally anything if you are a gora chittaĀ malai boti jaisa boy. And the girl will keep following you like a pet because your beauty has hindered her common sense and self-respect. In every second drama, we see a handsome actor is cast and the whole drama his character wander aroundĀ misbehaving with every human being and every piece of furniture for no reason at all. But we saw a scene which does not happen often in our dramas and this was when an average looking Kashaf showed a handsome Zaroon his real face. Zindagi Gulzar Hai talked about women empowerment and the power of education but one sequence which will always be rememberedĀ is that girls have other things to do in life than keep swooning after a boy with zero manners. It showed that people are actually judged on their deeds and not on their looks even if they think of themselves as some kind of Greek gods.

The Not So Often Of Pakistani Dramas!

Abuse Is Not Acceptable:

We have a hero who will slap the heroine, emotionally abuse her and things will still become normal in the last episode. Unfortunately, in many dramas, this is shown as a very normal practice and is not even mentioned to be a crime. Kankar, however, came out as a drama with many sequences redeeming the practice totally unacceptable. Sanam Baloch portrayed the girl who fights against domestic abuse to perfection and from standing up against an abusive husband to fighting for herself with her parents, the drama had countless sequences which are not shown often in our dramas and should be portrayed more. Its high time we stop showing masculinity in the power of a slap.

The Not So Often Of Pakistani Dramas!

Imtiaz Is In Our Own Homes:

Countless dramas are coming out about the topic of abuse but what started this all and is still the best in all regards is Udaari. Udaari is a drama which talked about the untalked. It started the debate and is the pioneer in every sense in bringing society’s attention to this topic and making them talk about it openly. The other thing which was openly shown was that Imtiaz is always someone near you. He is the one you trust the most. Hats off to Ahsan Khan for taking up this role and showing people that wolves reside behind innocent faces. After Udaari we saw many more dramas which showed that how people near to you can rip your life apart in the most heinous way.

The Not So Often Of Pakistani Dramas!

Maulvis Are Not Always Extremist:

Maulvis are shown as some hell-bent creatures in our dramas. They make their women wear abayas forcefully and try to force Islam on people. But then Pyaare Afzal came out with Maulvi SubhanAllah and he indeed made me say SubhanAllah. He was a man of religion, an imam masjid who adored his wife, loved his daughter and cared deeply for his son. He was soft natured and brought coconut wale biscuits for a girl whom his son “LOVED”, yes loved, and he was not against his son loving a girl. A character we never see on our screens. Hopefully, the dramas will come out with more characters like that who represent the true essence of Islam and show how beautiful and peaceful Islam really is.

The Not So Often Of Pakistani Dramas!

These are some sequences we do not often see in our dramas. Any more which come to your mind? Share in the comments!

PIA Invites Royal Couple To Visit Pakistan’s Northern Areas

Ever since this weekend the royal wedding and the royal couple is all over the news. Just in Pakistan International Airlines has offered the Duke of Sussex Harry and the Duchess of Sussex Meghan to visit Pakistan.

PIA Invites Royal Couple To Visit Pakistan's Northern Areas

The national carrier took to Twitter to post a picture of Princess Diana during her visit to the northern areas and requested the royal couple who tied the knot on Saturday to visit as well.

“We watched the #RoyalWeddding & remembered #PrincessDiana & her trip to the northern areas of Pakistan, & we thought how wonderful it would be for the newly weds to visit our northern splendours as well! So #PrinceHarry & #PrincessMeghan, we are ready, just let us know when! #PIA”

Twitteratis had mixed feelings about this invitation while some appreciated the gesture others suggested that if the royal couple chooses to visit Pakistan they should rather choose any other airline.

Ishq Tamasha Episode 12 Review-Slow!

This episode of Ishq Tamasha was very slow and the story moved with smooth pace. The focus was more on the relationship between Mehrab and Arham. Mehrab loves Arham to an unnatural extent. He has always done everything in his power to get Arham what he wants. He even got caught up in this whole scenario because of him. All these things combined have made Arham a stubborn human. He cares just for himself and his desires and has no regard for his brother’s love. Their phupo is a mysterious character up till now. It is not clear whether she is good or evil. But she cares for the brothers and Arham has no respect for her either. His obsession with Rushna has reached an unhealthy level where he does not care about his family or his self-respect.

One thing I am liking in Ishq Tamasha is the chachi’s attitude. It is very relatable and true. One of her daughters called a stranger for Rishta and she did not question her. The other is romantically interested in her cousin at such a young age and she does not care to check on her. But the same woman threw out a young girl out of her house at night. Reason; she was not her own daughter. This hypocrisy is very common in our society. If we are doing something, it is right but we will crush any other even if there is a doubt that he or she is doing it.

Ishq Tamasha Episode 12 Review-Slow!

Mehrab is badly stuck, all thanks to his brother. Arham is making him do things he would never even think of doing and is still unhappy. From some stranger girl’s home to jail, Arham has made Mehrab wander around the whole city. The activities these brothers use for taking out frustration look really funny though. One goes out to do some teenage one-wheeling stuff and one starts gyming. At least Arham’s stupid activities are making Mehrab concentrate on his health.

Wahaj now knows about the situation and will be home in the next episode. He seems like a person who will not trust Mirha. And Rushna will finally know that she has fallen for the future Jeth jee in place of the future husband. Let’s see how things work out!

Noor ul Ain Episode 15 – Review!

Ohkay so, this episode of Noor ul Ain was somewhat better, no I haven’t warmed up to the characters, nor do I think that Noor’s ordeals were shown convincingly but I felt that the execution of this episode was better plus for the first time in weeks, I didn’t have a hard time watching this episode, or may be because I watched this episode in 3 intervals, I didn’t find it too boring!

Well, like I said, Noman’s sister is going out with this guy who doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to marry her. This entire scenario has only been added to justify whatever Noor did because this way Noman’s mother will get a reality check that all this while she was judging someone else’s daughter, her own was dating this guy & planning to marry him. Noman’s mother is another boring & one-dimensional character, plus now that she knows that no one in the family is paying heed to what she is saying, she should just forget everything & be happy for Noman. I totally see her torturing Sofie in the future, which I feel is going to be another boring scenario of this drama!

Well, I don’t know why those who state the obvious & the truth are shown to be the villains in this drama. Mahrukh is shown to be the negative character where she is maligning Noor’s heart against Khizar but in all honesty, I found her totally right & felt that she was telling Noor the truth. I just don’t really understand why Noor tells everything to Mahrukh when she can’t handle her honesty & her opinions? Noor airs her dirty laundry herself & then disses those who pass judgments on it? This should serve Noor a good lesson that she should then keep her things to herself when she can’t handle the truth. Ghazala who also spoke about Noor was shown as a villain. Bhai is drama mai sabbb hi buray hain siwaye Noor ke!

Khizar is turning out to be a disappointment day after day & Noor is having a hard time with him but he just doesn’t understand. It is funny that the wealth that Khizar left without even thinking about for a second has left him so blinded that he is reminded of his old lifestyle every other day. Fine, Khizar is like that, but then what is Noor doing to motivate him? Yes, I get it, Noor working to provide for herself & Khizar should be enough reason for him to do something on his own but then the way Noor keeps things from him just doesn’t help the situation either. Noor should discuss everything with her husband based on how she says that she trusts him the most plus from what I have seen, Khizar’s immaturity aside, he makes sure to always ask her to tell him everything but Noor just keeps it to herself? Unnecessarily!

Anyways, Noor herself left her family for Khizar so she should stop being so salty about every little thing related to them because she herself announced that she doesn’t have anything to do with them. Plus, if she is missing her family so much, she can always break the ice, take the initiative & go to her home to see them all. Please share your thoughts.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Khamoshi Episode 33 Review-Star Plus Vibes!

We are all familiar with the star plus vibe. It is when there is something meant to happen but it takes 2000 episodes to happen. Same is the case with Shahram and Zubiya’s engagement. The venue has changed about 5 times now and we are still on the way to the much-awaited engagement. Well, that is not the highlight since it is a must for Khamoshi, yes dragging.

The worst thing today was Naima’s extreme behaviour. It was so unrelatable even for Naima’s character. We have seen Naima as a pawn of the devil for 33 episodes now. We know she is a bad person. incapable of good. But why on earth was she behaving like that with Atif? The whole demeanour which she adopted from the invitationĀ to the ceremony looked less evil and more childish. Her reaction towards Shahram was also absurd. Like do you not remember what you did to him and your sister? She was just focused on Baray Logon Ka Function!

Khamoshi Episode 33 Review-Star Plus Vibes!

Shahram’s assistant is also fed up now. I just loved his presence in today’s episode. He just plainly said ke itna bhi selfless nahin hona chahiye. He even went on to explain to Shahram that how life works and that you have to work to get your happiness. But Shahram is still fixated on begging Arsala every chance he gets. Now he was begging her to attend his engagement. His only goal in life is to get insulted by Arsala and still keep helping her and her stupid family.

Bee Jaan’s track has deteriorated to an annoying level now. Why on earth has Shahram not tried to call her? Bee Jaan lives in 2018 and can naturally use the phone. She owned one before Nasreen took it. According to Nasreen and Basit’s story, Bee Jaan is in Saudi Arabia so she should be carrying a phone which Shahram can call. Parr Arsala hi bhai ko sukoon nahin aane de rahi.

I hope Arsala gets the top position in 2018’s worst characters. She just keeps whining, is annoying and spineless, has no self-respect and wears that so not good looking pink lipstick all the time.

I hope Bee Jaan’s track gets wrapped up in the next one at least because the shooting has ended for Khamoshi!
