Sara Khan has come a long way. She did not impress anyone much in her first Appearance in Bari Aapa but later on she nailed every character she played. Sara Khan is a new face which people like watching on television and her smile makes her a winner when she is modelling. She has worked with the best directors and the most popular actors of the drama industry. Sara Khan’s acting shows that she has learned a great deal from her co-stars and her confidence will take her much further in the showbiz industry now that with the film industry growing there are unlimited opportunities.
Sara Khan looks stunning in an Eatern outlook in her latest photo shoot. The special thing about this shoot is that one of the dresses which Sara is wearing has been designed by her too. Sara loves pink color and enjoyed wearing it. The make up has been done by the emerging make up artist Sheeba Mughal.
Sara Khan looks equally pretty in a casual look in which she poses with her sister.
Faysal Qureshi and Sara Khan look great in this picture which was taken to promote Naraaz.
Hamza Ali Abbasi is famous for saying things that are controversial, he believes in speaking his mind even if it is at the cost of the friendships he has in the industry. Many actors have been offended by Hamza Ali Abbasi’s remarks, Ayesha Omer is one of these actresses and Sohai also said something in an interview which showed that she wasn’t very happy about Hamza’s statements about item numbers. Some people feel that Hamza is forcing his opinion on them although Hamza Ali Abbasi has said it again and again that he has never intended to attack anyone personally.
Ayesha Khan is one actress who is Hamza’s closest friend. They have known each other long before they became stars and even now the relationship between these two stars stays strong. Why is that nothing Hamza Ali Abbasi says ever offends Ayesha? We never even see her talking about the controversial statements from Hamza. Answering that question she said,
“I treat Hamza Ali Abbasi like a kid therefore I can forgive him for anything at all. People keep on saying to me that he says so many things, why don’t you say anything because you are so close to him. I tell them it is only Hamza, I don’t take him seriously. It is that simple for me, he is like an innocent kid to me. No one knows him like I do that is why people take everything he says too seriously.”
It looks like Ayesha Khan looks at Hamza Ali Abbasi and everything he says in a way like no one else does. It is good to see these co-stars being good friends even after entering the world of showbiz.
Ohkay so, honestly speaking I really had a hard time watching the first episode of the week. As I watched the uploaded video, I literally took 2 hours to complete one single episode as it really didn’t grab attention & didn’t seem interesting at all. I had a hard time because looks like the story has become stagnant & is failing to move forward.
I am glad that Mahnoor did what Rukhsana asked her to do, the reason being that it serves Wajahat right. He lied to Saba, didn’t tell her such basic things that he should have & he landed himself in trouble. Not that I haven’t mentioned it before, but I feel like saying it again, he is the worst character of the lot because he has no brains of his own whatsoever. He allowed a teenager to trap him & he agreed. I guess he is taking that Sharafat after Sharafat. The way he has gone into silent mode makes me feel that he is not going to come up with a proof of his innocence anytime soon, so it means we’re stuck in a rut when it comes to his track.
I really like watching Samia’s scenes especially when she confronts Rukhsana & doesn’t leave an opportunity to get back at her. I guess it’s a high time someone showed Rukhsana her right place, not that it casts any affect on her but still, she should know that all the things that she has done aren’t forgivable. The second episode of the week was still better because I sensed things were going against Rukhsana’s plans especially in regards to Arshad because looks like he has started to decipher her mentality & he can foresee the lengths she can go to in order to achieve what she wants.
I was relieved to see that Arshad played a mind game with Rukhsana too & he didn’t send Fareeda away. In fact he chose to believe Fareeda’s version over Rukhsana’s because he can clearly see the difference between their personalities, their temperaments & their characters. At first, I was ticked off that Arshad was unable to understand & he followed Rukhsana to her brother’s place but then I guess he himself had a plan & thought that it was a better idea to keep Fareeda & Rukhsana away from each other, although it doesn’t suit him that he agreed to live at Sharafat & Wajahat’s house because he himself said he wanted to maintain a balance between his two wives, so to see him completely ignoring Fareeda & following Rukhsana’s lead made me question his credibility. However, I am glad that he has started to read between the lines & he can see the rage & anger that Rukhsana is capable of. The way Arshad mend ties with Fareeda & chose to believe her showed clearly that he is well aware of the fact that Rukhsana has a problem with every single woman around her, so how can she leave Fareeda alone?
Mahnoor did what she was asked to but seems like she is feeling guilty as well but still, nothing that she’ll say will make her innocent because she is wise enough to have a faintest idea about what’s right & what’s not, so even if she followed the orders, she is just as much of a culprit as Rukhsana. Rukhsana is doing everything to carry out her plans just the way she wants but in all honesty, it is getting boring to watch her succeed again & again. I really didn’t get the purpose behind Rukhsana’s stay at Sharafat & Wajahat’s home. She is married & she should stay wherever Arshad lives, but then I guess the writer wants to prolong the drama that’s why the story is being shifted from petty to pettiest things & the solution is nowhere to be seen in the near future.
It’s good to see that Samia has stepped up & she is doing everything she can to help her husband. Saba is shattered emotionally because she never had imagined that Wajahat could do something like that. I think this time around as well, Wajahat wouldn’t have to do anything himself because may be Mahnoor will swoop in & testify that Wajahat’s not guilty because other than that I don’t see it happening any other way. Also, I liked the way all the family members didn’t pay extra attention to Rukhsana & treated her a nobody because yes, she isn’t welcomed in that house anymore & it was the right of them to get that message across loud & clear.
I actually feel a lot for Fareeda because she didn’t deserve such harsh circumstances where the only person she loves & respects the most questions her loyalty towards him that too only because of a person like Rukhsana. I have a feeling that she will fall pregnant & that will serve as an eye-opener for Arshad where he will get rid of Rukhsana because one, he will realize that Fareeda was right because she prayed in front him for never becoming a mother if she was wrong or at fault & second, he will also understand that Rukhsana even lied to him about his medical reports. Somehow Arshad has started to see that Rukhsana still isn’t that trust-worthy & I think that’s exactly what we need at this stage of the drama.
The preview of the next episode didn’t seem too enticing because looks like nothing special would happen that will take the story forward, also the new character of maid that was introduced seemed totally unnecessary. Honestly speaking, just before Shareefa’s death, I feel someone else wrote Mohabbat Aag Si because till that part the story was interesting & different but after that, looks like some other writer has taken over & has made the story quite typical where the typical dusri biwi scenario was introduced, things have gotten messier & the story has been confined to the day-to-day household affairs & scenarios since then. I so wish this drama ends in next 4 episodes & has a decent ending where Rukhsana sows what she has reaped. Share your thoughts about these 2 episodes of Mohabbat Aag Si.
All the developments in the story of this drama serial have always been unpredictable. There was a time when I thought this unpredictability was a strength of Sangat but the latest twists and turns in the story have taken the narrative to a point where I can’t help but wonder what exactly is it that the writer is trying to achieve here? Shahwez has done his father proud, made a girl’s dream come true, rescued Sangat in the most desperate of situations more than once and now he will do anything to save Adnan bhai too! Are the viewers expected to forgive this man because he is doing everything he can to “undo” what he did to Ayesha? I really hope that is not the case.
Once again I felt like Shahwez got a little too much of screen time and Salma’s father’s emotional dialogues seemed to be there for the wrong reasons. I was wondering why we were being shown all this emotional drama but later on when Zubeida aunty came like an angel to take this helpless father out of misery, the message was loud and clear!! I have said this before and it needs to be said again that Salma’s acceptance of Shahwez’s “love” for Ayesha is sickening. How can she ignore the fact that Shahwez violated Ayesha is the worst way possible and readily accept the notion that Shahwez did all this only because he was in love? Does that mean that it is okay to rape someone you love but cannot get as long as you feel sorry later on?
Adnan’s presence at the hospital was the only good development in tonight’s episode which hinted that Adnan is trying to accept Sangat. The confrontation between Ayesha and Adnan in the preview of the next episode however suggested something entirely different. Ayesha continued “saving” the people around her; she did not tell her mother what was going on in her life and she kept on apologizing to Adnan because she wanted everything to be okay. While I am very happy with the way the writer has shown a rape victim coming out of her ordeal with time, I would also want Ayesha to show a little more strength and do what really needs to be done.
Everything that Ayesha said to Shahwez was music to my ears. Shahwez’s helplessness is beyond me, there are times when you can’t help but think whether this man is really “paying” for his mistakes or reaping the rewards of feeling guilty after doing something horrendous. He goes out of his way to make Ayesha’s mother happy, he cannot hurt Adnan bhai but he cannot do that one thing which Ayesha wants him to do if he truly wants to be forgiven!! I really feel like the writer is completely losing focus here and if he wants the viewers to feel for Shahwez in some way then this is wrong on so many levels. If the writer is trying to prove that one act of a person does not define him then he is wrong because there are some actions which are so dreadful that no matter what you do to undo them, they still define who you are. And last but not the least, rape is a crime and one just cannot get away with it by saying sorry! Ayesha is trying to save everyone from further damage by trying to move on and forgetting everything but her actions send out the wrong message. A strong woman should have the guts to bring a rapist to justice. It would lead to a lot of “problems” but then is it okay to forgive and forget because it would be too much trouble bringing the person who violated her to justice? I really hope that Ayesha puts her strength to good use by telling her mother who Shahwez was and hopefully mustering up the courage to file a report against him. Am I the only one who feels that the only logical way to end this drama is to show Shahwez being punished for what he did?
Ayeza Khan disappeared from television screen for a few months but now that she is back in action, she is making sure that she makes her presence felt. Ayeza started this comeback in her career after a brief break with giving an interview in which we saw a very candid side of Ayeza Khan waiting to be back in the public eye. Later we saw her in a commercial and now all of her fans are waiting for her upcoming play “Tum Kon Piya” in which she will star opposite Imran Abbas. Ayeza Khan’s enthusiasm about everything that she is doing right now is apparent from how she ensures that she keeps her fans in the loop by posting pictures of what she is doing and sometimes giving details about her projects.
Ayeza Khan will play the character of “Elma” in her upcoming play. Elma has the same look which most of Ayeza Khan’s characters have. She looks like a simple Eastern girl from her looks which is apparent from the pictures which Ayeza Khan has posted from the sets of the play. Ayeza Khan hasn’t revealed much about this character except for the name. Here are some pictures of “Elma” from the sets of Tum Kon Piya which were posted by Ayeza Khan herself.
Ayeza Khan is the new selfie queen with these amazing pictures which she took herself. She looks simple yet pretty as usual. Ayeza is also busy shooting for a new photo shoot in which she will be modeling for Afzal Jewelers. She modeled for them once before too and she looked gorgeous in that photo shoot. Ayeza Khan posted a couple of BTS pictures from the shoot in which she looks royal.
Ushna Shah is known by most people because of her bluntness. She is seen playing the role of damsel in distress in her dramas but in real life she has a very strong personality. She knows exactly what she wants from life and will do anything to get it. Ushna Shah has a new friend now who is not human but actually a female pitbul and Ushna Shah is “hopelessly in love” with her new friend. Ever since Ushna got this new pal she has been posting pictures of her on her social media pages to let people know how much she loves her. The pitbull has been named Narco and she goes with Ushna Shah everywhere whether it is an outing or work.
Ushna Shah waited to get this pit bull for a long time and now that she finally has her, she cannot do without her. It is as if this new friend makes an important part of Ushna’s life. Ushna Shah is busy shooting for her next project with ARY Digital but she makes sure that Narco goes with her on the sets.
Ushna Shah has been sharing the love she feels for this dog with all her fans but not everyone is giving her the response she would have liked to get from her. People are passing rude comments and saying things like she will get tired of the new friend very soon but that isn’t stopping Ushna from posting these adorable pictures.
Everyone knows Mathira as the controversy queen who is always getting attention for all the wrong reasons but sometimes taking a look at a celebrity’s social media account can reveal more about him or her than any interviews they give or anything they do. Some stars use their instagram account only to post their pictures and these accounts are not so active but for some stars these accounts are like daily diaries where they post pictures and express their feelings at the same time too. Mathira is one such celebrity who appears to be very rough and tough on the outside but some of her instagram posts show that just like any other person Mathira wants love and is hurt when people around her let her down. She works hard to keep her relationships intact because if they fall apart then Mathira’s world falls apart too.
In her instagram posts Mathira uses hash tags like “#nooneknowsher” “#bestrong” “#coldwithin” which depict Mathira’s frame of mind very clearly. Mathira is someone who tries very hard to stay strong but there are times when she feels broken and hurt. Even in such times she tries to have a big heart and not hurt people she loves even if they hurt her. Mathira’s posts also show that there are many times when she feels that even people who love her do not understand her. Mathira also feels “used” by people she loves sometimes, in one of her posts she says, “she is a girl not a tissue”!
Here are a few instagram posts that will show a side of Mathira which many of us don’t know about. What do you see in these posts?
YMDH has undergone so many changes, it’s hard to keep track of the story anymore.
The evil Phupis managed to score a double whammy- they accused Atiya of having an affair with Tauseeq which resulted in Tauseeq divorcing Rakhshanda much to her delight and Nafeesuddin rejecting Atiya and labelling her an immoral woman. Jaani, who was reeling from his own personal loss of Mehtaab, fell victim to the web of lies and shunned his mother. Atiya, torn with grief over her son’s rejection, realized her life wasn’t worth living anymore and ended her misery by setting herself on fire. She left behind a suicide note which had enough truth to it to finally wake Jaani up from his stupor. Nafeesuddin used Jaani’s hatred to his own benefit- he had Jaani convinced that he was miserable with a woman like Atiya and wanted to marry Nighat to salvage what was remaining of his life. Jaani came to his senses and realized that his father was guilty of partaking in his Phupis plan and managed to hold himself hostage forcing his father to call off his nikah.
Mehtaab found herself in a compromising situation with Shakoor- when she rejected his advances, he tried to defame her by sensationalizing her affair with Jaani. But he didn’t stop there, he framed her for taking innocent lives by tampering with the injections she was preparing for her patients at the hospital. With multiple lives lost, Mehtaab found herself in a dilemma as no one believed her innocence and was sentenced to life imprisonment. Jaani struggled to hire a lawyer who would help Mehtaab but failed…
Fast forward ten years and Jaani fuelled by his helplessness at having lost not one but two women (his mother and Mehtaab) took it upon himself to better his circumstances. He worked hard and became the most reputable lawyer in town jiskey naam ka sikka purey sheher mein chalta hai… Ironic really that despite being so resourceful, he couldn’t do a thing to change Mehtaab’s circumstances! On the Homefront, however, he was surely the boss. His father, now old and guilt-ridden was living at his mercy; his eldest Phupi was unfortunately still alive and living with him too. However, the tables had turned and now he was the one spewing the insults. His other Phupi, the divorced Rakshanda was still bitter and spiteful but dependent on Jaani for financial support. Her two daughters grew up into seedhi saadhi bhooli bhaali masoom larkiyan… Somehow! Zeba ( Sundus Tariq) secretly fantasizes about becoming Mrs. Jaani and Meena (Anoushey Abbassi) developed an instant liking for their durr ka rishtedaaar Ahmer (an actor so forgettable, I hope I never have to see him again). However, in yet another crazy twist, Ahmer asked for Zeba’s hand in marriage and when Zeba tried to express her feelings for Jaani, he mocked her and reminded her that he found her repulsive but he had a soft spot for Meena… With Rakshanda finding out about her cancer, she hurried to have her daughters married off and Jaani used her desperation to seek vengeance- he left Meena at the altar and the family humiliated… Dr. Nafeesuddin went to meet Mehtaab and begged her to set Jaani free and Mehtaab commanded Jaani to take Meena as his wife… Jaani agreed to her demands on the condition that she would agree to become his wife and proposed to her with a diamond ring which she sheepishly accepted… Such lovebirds, these two!
With all these plot twists, and with Mehtaab taking a break from her red lipstick, the responsibility for providing glamorous red visuals has fallen on the fragile shoulders of Meena. She’s been fashioned as a younger version of Mehtaab- piercing green eyes, brown hair, flawless complexion and that bold shade of red that hypnotized Jaani as a child. Will Jaani find himself falling for Meena once she becomes his wife or will be remain loyal to Mehtaab? For now, Jaani’s determined to make Meena’s life a living hell as a form of retribution for the sins committed by her mother. YMDH has been stretched way beyond its expiration date but I’ve got to hand it to the imagination of the creative minds behind this project- they keep throwing in everything they have to keep this going on. Looking forward to seeing how (and when) thus finally ends!
Naraz is something that has hooked me up since it’s very first promo that I saw. Not only because it had Faysal Quraishi, but also the mesmerizing OST by Sohail Haider. The author’s name is new to me. But I can see he is doing a splendid job. A lot has been set up in first episode.
Azlan (Faysal Quraishi), a confident, charming and bluntly, somewhat egoistic stock-broker lives in his self made heaven. With a loving wife, a son to spoil to his heart’s content and having enough money to do that, there seems to be no problem can ever touch this guy.
Except for his wife’s health. With the doctor’s appointment scene, we are shown from the beginning that she is suffering from some sort of disease.
Azlan’s character is clearly portrayed as class conscious by his attitude with his parents-in-law. But his habit of having his way is also evident to us by the fact that he had married and living happily with a middle-class girl. And care about her with all his heart. He also show genuine and extraordinary care to the one he loves.
A perfectly imperfect protaganist.
Fariha (Sara Khan) is as idealistic as Azlan is materialistic, with family values rooted inside her. She is shown trying in vain to bridge the class gap between her family and Azlan. Also trying to stop him from spoiling his son from showering all the money as a mean to show love.
The relationship between Azlan and his son Azir is also beautifully portrayed. Azir’s habit of having his way is promising some real good trouble in the coming episodes.
The character of Javaria Abbasi (forgot the name) still isn’t much developed. Aside from the fact that she is hopeless romantic for Azlan, and Fariha knows that.
The end really hit me hard. Making me mark next Monday on my calendar. With all his confidence in his skills and believe in his money, Azlan has failed badly in a deal capable enough to actually destroy his heaven.
And all that in the first episode, if it still doesn’t feel promising enough drama, I doubt anything will hook you.
Overall, the episode was fill with warm family moments and beautiful direction. The birthday celebration in Fariha’s parents home perfectly evoked the theme right from the beginning. Happiness isn’t all about money.
I gotta admit that I was relieved to see a director who doesn’t believe good direction means odd camera angles, but scenes that evoke emotions with right bit of dialogue and music. I do still have some setbacks on Sara Khan’s acting though. Lets hope for the better.
The second episode of Naraaz hit it’s mark. From the very beginning, it hooked us up by the on going conflict that didn’t faded until the final moment. The first scene was my favorite since I really hate those sort of people who, when someone else is going through a big shock, is raving about how I had already told you so.
Azlan has messed up a big deal completely. And the whole episode focused solely on his trying in vain to grasp the situation. Not only is he loosing all his money, but all of his friends are rapidly turning into foes— or should I rather say beasts.
In previous episode, we were told Azlan’s false values and suddenly in episode two, all of them break in front of him.
He can’t keep his office anymore. None of his friends are even waiting for their money to return, let alone cooperating. No banks are providing him lone. So yeah, our hero is completely lost in his battle.
I really loved the way his relationship with Fariha was defined in these moments. The way she assured him no matter what happen, for her he is more important than anything else.
But on the contrary, his innocent little son couldn’t even realize how much hurt he is inflicting on his father in his blissful ignorance. That scene literally made me cry, and that is really rude of the makers to make that happen to viewers right from the beginning.
He is having to leave his office, since he couldn’t afford his business anymore. How his partners are discussing the fact that if he is paying, that means he has money made me gag. The picture of materialism in modern society was spot on and nauseating. We didn’t get any more hints on Fariha’s illness. But a small amount of Aisha’s (Javeria Abbasi) character has been developed. Her love for Azlan is above money. But there has to be some reason for her avoiding her parents. And that is making me interested.
In the last scene, the way Azlan is beaten by Khawar and how he looks at his son and wife with horror, it made us realize how much he this act of Khawar’s selfishness had shattered his whole world. Of course, promising more amazing emotional scenes ahead.
Overall, I watched this entire episode without even taking time to breath. Until the end, the tension kept developing in an exhilarating pace. Although it isn’t necessary to say that about Faysal Quraishi, but I still have to rave about how spot on and amazing his acting was on this entire episode. Not only this episode, but this whole serial revolves solely around him. Which for his fans like me is a feast to watch.
The direction was amazing. It’s first time in a Pakistani drama in which a punch looked realistic. Thanks to of course, Faysal’s acting. No more warm scenes this entire episode, it was all Azlan scraping up his pieces which a single blow had shattered off him. Or I should rather say, Azlan is still in the process of getting hit this entire episode. He didn’t even get the chance to hold his breath even for a second.
Ohkay so, I thoroughly enjoyed watching this episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi. I must say the acting & the direction has been top-notch so far & the story is unfolding at a perfect pace. I am glad that they are not rushing with the happenings & are focusing on little things that are helping us in understanding all these characters perfectly.
So Goshi continued to pester Shams & he stayed unaffected with everything that Goshi said to him. It is so obvious that all Goshi wants is Shams’s attention but she conceals it by putting him down & belittling him, just so that he is unable to decipher her actual thoughts. Goshi decided on her own that she was going to spend a whole day out with her classmates without having the need to inform her family about it & she was pretty happy with the way things progressed because she knew, no one would hinder her plans & everyone’s reaction hinted that too. Goshi’s father Fiaz decided not to bother her because he knew that the last conversation her had with Goshi didn’t end at a good note, so he was well aware of the fact that anything that he’d say will make her lose her mind & the last thing he wanted to do was to infuriate her beloved daughter. He was at least satisfied that he got to know about it indirectly just before Goshi left. Ilyas was too busy with his own preparations of Basant day, so the only person who was a little concerned was Ilyas’s mother. Just when she decided to talk to Goshi about it & discuss the pros & cons with her, Goshi left her speechless by bringing in Ilyas’s name in between the conversation. I feel even though Goshi is highly opinionated & level-headed, every single time, she still feels the need to use someone as a cover because she has a hard time owning her decisions easily, that is why when Ilyas’s mother tried to speak to her, Goshi’s defense mechanism forced her to bring the topic of Ilyas’s competition that he arranged without informing anyone in the family, which obviously helped Goshi in getting away easily with her single-handed decision.
Goshi’s day went well but the ending wasn’t smooth. Shams stepped up & saved the day, convincing Goshi that he was the man she was looking for. Shams proved to be the perfect idea of a husband that Goshi was in search of & that is why, in stead of getting traumatized by what she witnessed, she felt at peace because she knew that she got the answer that she was looking for. I must say my favorite scene of this episode was when Shams goes to drop Goshi & they both share a moment together where he gets to put a ring on her finger & with very subtle expressions, they both highlight the thoughts that are running through their minds. Both the actors were phenomenal with the subtlety in their acting & I must say, their chemistry was amazing as well. Goshi returned home with an overwhelming feeling that she got a nod of approval by Shams which she yearned for all this while, but I must say, the things that her father said & the way her Aunt understood what was going on – that whole scene was done beautifully as well, it was like both the elders could foresee what was going to happen & they were dreading it. Goshi fails to understand that her happiness will cause so much distress to those people who love her so much & even though I know, they will agree to whatever she will say as her happiness means everything to them, I hope for their sake, Goshi approaches them with humility & kindness because they deserve nothing but that.
I really like Ilyas’s approach towards life. Just when he got to know that things were ohkay at Goshi’s end, he thought it was a bad idea to waste his time worrying sick for Goshi & he decided to fetch something scrumptious for dinner as he knew Goshi will eventually make it to her home. Yes, Ilyas is innocent, he is a bit too simple & most of the times, he fails to understand the gravity of such situations, but still his naivety doesn’t take away the fact that he is a kind & softhearted person. He may not be suitable for Goshi, but he surely deserves someone who would do anything for him because his loyalty makes him very special. I actually felt bad for Ilyas that he lost the kite challenge to Mariam, but it was a great relief that Fiaz had taken care of the prize money that Ilyas had promised. I really like the Chacha-Bhateeja bonding that Fiaz & Ilyas share & that is why I look forward to their conversations the most because there’s a warmth in their relation that brings a smile to my face. Mariam obviously has a lot to offer because seems like she is their neighbour & she is living with her Aunt too. I am sure being their neighbor, she will come in contact with Ilyas quite often.
So, Zareena (Saman Ansari) showed up, even more miserable than ever before. Shams’s Bhabhi succeeded in emotionally blackmailing him into getting married to her sister & Shams gave in because for him, that was the only way he could protect her & give her the social security that she needed the most. Shams’s brother knew that his younger brother had many plans for his future & such a serious commitment was the last thing on his mind but at least Shams stood up for Zareena & did what he deemed right. It is obvious that Zareena would want more from this relationship but we’ll have to wait & see if Shams will ever have anything other than his name to offer to her.
The preview of the next episode seemed even more dramatic. Looks like Mariam is interested in Ilyas & I think this is going to be the actual reason why she accepted the challenge. Goshi will find out about Shams’s Nikkah & she will confess her feelings too. I am sure it is going to get a lot more interesting & I can’t wait to watch more. I am thoroughly impressed by Hira & Ahsan Khan both, they have acted brilliantly & their chemistry has been great too. Hasan Noman & Irfan Khoosat are a treat to watch as well. The direction has been superb & I love the screenplay along with the OST because I think they use it very aptly as it completes the situations as well. Honestly speaking, I didn’t expect Preet Na Kariyo Koi to be this good, so yes, I am totally impressed. :) Please share your thoughts about this episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi as well & let me know if you’re enjoying it or not? :)
Actress Noor has always been very blunt about her views and she also has said many times that the people in the showbiz industry are not sincere to each other. Noor was invited as a guest at the Nadia Khan Show and like all the other shows which Nadia Khan has done after her comeback, in this show too someone ended up saying something that deserves to be heard by people!
While talking about the old times Nadia pointed out that when Noor was working in films and many other actors of her time were not the least bit proud even though they were very famous. This down-to-earth nature of these actors made their personalities more appealing. That was not the case now because actors that are hit in films now think that they can show other people attitude because they are famous.
While Noor gave a clean chit to actors like Mahira Khan and others, she had a different opinion about Fawad Khan. She said,
“Mahira is very sweet…..We consider actors like Fawad Khan newcomers but actually they are not newcomers. They are actors who had to work in sitcoms like “Jutt and Bond”, they have struggled a lot to get where they are today. I guess they have struggled so hard that now their faces have turned stiff and their attitude is cold!”
Noor was certainly trying to say that after getting fame Fawad Khan has become proud and he can’t spare a smile for anyone.
Meera has a habit of doing controversial things that keep on directing the viewers’ attention to her not in a good way but she gets the attention which she is obviously seeking by doing these things. This time Meera has done something which makes it look like she is losing her mental balance.
Meera was invited by Nadia Khan to her show. Firstly she refused to do the show unless the questions were written by her and that episode was directed by her too. Finally after some compromises on both sides Meera agreed to come to the show. When she arrived at the studio according to Nadia Khan,
“When Meera arrived at the studio, she started making a scene saying I was not supposed to be here, I do not want to be in this show. When her manager tried to reason out with her she started shouting and that is when the manager got out of the car and decided to flee from the scene. This is when I asked my producer, who is a woman to talk to Meera. Meera got hyper and she attacked my producer. She injured my producer badly. That is when I went out to talk to her but she kept on insisting that she was supposed to go for some other shoot and she will come to show tomorrow.”
In a leaked video Meera was seen lying down on the sofa upset when some other lady was trying to calm her down.
This is not the first time that something of a violent nature occurred on Nadia Khan’s Morning Show. Once before too when Noor was invited as a guest to her show, her husband physically abused her on the show and Nadia Khan took a stand for her. Nadia Khan said,
“I am so upset after this incident that my hands are actually trembling. I am such a wrong judge of character, I thought Meera was a nice person who was just simple but after this my opinion about her has changed. I am not going to show a video of the incident until I get proper approval. I do not want people to think this stunt is for the sake of ratings. I don’t give a damn about ratings and viewership which come as a result of such news. I will tell the truth. I am angry and upset and venting out here is the only way for me to cool down.”
Is this a publicity stunt or Meera really has lost her mental balance? Geo News also showed news regarding this incident. They showed a brief news clip and asked people to watch Nadia Khan Show to know the details.
Starting off with an apology from the readers because I could not review Aab-e-Hayat last month, I would try to make up for it with this month’s review. The 12th and 13th episodes remained mostly focused on Salar, his thought process and his actions.
Guess Who the New World Bank Vice-President is
Yes you are absolutely right! Salar Sikandar is now VP at the World Bank. After doing way with Ibaka, the World Bank and CIA are in such a mess that they have no option but to ask for Salar’s help because of his heavy influence on the people of Congo. He was lured into taking this new post with extra authorities so that he could save their face. Salar takes this job very unwillingly because of…
The Guilty Conscience
The realization comes to Salar that the turmoil his life has been in, lately, is because the curse of Riba (interest) in his life (told you so Salar!). He rushes to Dr. Sibt-e-Ali for scholarly advice who increases his guilt further. He tells Salar that earlier in his married life when the Earth rotated around Imama, Salar was tried by Allah (SWT) by Imama’s constant misbehaviour and ungratefulness. Now that he has other responsibilities too (kids, carrier etc) Allah (SWT) is putting him through these tests so that he can quit doing this deadly sin. It’s not that Salar was directly involved in Riba transactions but wherever he used to work and whatever he used to study was indirectly related to Riba and empowered this structure. Salar finally decides to continue the contract with the World Bank, only to be able to use this post to create the world’s first Islamic Financial System (IFS). Only then, can he rest his super-guilty conscience in piece. He also decides to abandon the dream estate he had mortgaged for Imama because it also involved Riba.
The Last Sermon for the Last Tribute
The people of Congo demand Ibaka’s dead body so that they can pay him a last tribute according to their own customs. There is an angry mob at this funeral and no white man dares attend this… except You-Know-Who. Our dare-devil (remember Salar from Peer-e-Kamil sallallahu alaihi wa aalihi wasallam?) daringly attends this ceremony despite serious security threats. He comes to the mic and starts off with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Without realizing this himself, he starts quoting the last Sermon of the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wa aalihi wasallam)
“No white is superior to a black and no black is superior to a white, except on the basis of piousness.”
Allah (SWT) and his Messenger’s (sallallahu alaihi wa aalihi wasallam) words have great impact on the crowd and they all collectively cry and pray for Ibaka’s soul.
The Beginning
Apparently, Salar is contacting his peers who have the same mind-set to start his dream IFS. The CIA (acting like a curious child) is unable to get a clear picture of his plans. Around the globe, people having similar background as Salar are now having casual meetings but the CIA suspects that this must not bid well for the western banking system. The CIA keeps a closer watch on Salar because of his potential fundamental Islamic self that emerged at Ibaka’s funeral.
Chunni Returns
Our beloved Chunni has returned again, this time as a temporary guest at Salar’s house. I so look forward to see how Humain and Chunni interact as according to the author, Chunni is the perfect antidote for Humain, the soya hua jinn.
By the way, the best part of episode 13 for me was the name by which Humain calls Salar :-D What a creative little devil he is.
Deceptive Appearances
At one hand, we have Salar who does not seem religious at all by his appearance but has a strong conscience and deep sense of responsibility, while on the other hand we have Saad who dons the most perfect Islamic apparel and is extremely (I couldn’t find a better word for him) cheap. No matter how much I love and support Umera Ahmed’s writing, I find this imagery a little uncomfortable. Why do we have to portray those who follow Islamic dress code and involved with some religious group as mean, narrow-minded and hypocrite? Perhaps the writer has planned to give a strong message with this huge contrast in characters.
Quality Rating
Episode 13 had more substance and I liked it more than episode 12. The pace remains the same as the previous ones and some scenes appear stretched. Character development was great, we see Salar evolving further in each episode. I would rate episode 12 with 3 out of 5 and episode 13 with 4 out of 5 in overall quality.

Ayesha Khan was Nadia Khan’s first guest in her comeback Morning Show. Nadia Khan and Ayesha talked about everything from how people exploit social media to Ayesha Khan’s future plans. Talking about Pakistani stars who have worked in Bollywood till now Ayesha Khan said that she felt that these stars were not given the kind of role and attention they deserved based on their talent. She also said,
“I have set certain boundaries for myself that will never allow me to work in Bollywood. The films that I did here in Pakistan were within those limits which I have set for myself but Bollywood is different. I am not criticizing the actors who have worked there, everyone has their own standards.”
Ayesha Khan also said that she went to India once to shoot an advertisement but she never met anyone there. She also said that actors who act in Bollywood,
“will always be outsiders, they will never have the kind of support system we have here in Pakistan.”
The talented actress who has impressed the audience with her performances again and again said that she would always want to be known as a drama actor. She said,
“My favorite medium has always been television. It is really sad that the quality of scripts of dramas has really gone down. The reason for that is that the writers are not writing the scripts themselves. Their names are on the script but their assistants or helpers write the script.”
Talking about how tough it has become for directors too to choose projects they would enjoy directing she said,
“The channels/producers only want 24 episodes, it doesn’t matter whether the story loses focus or it gets repetitive. Unnecessary marriages are shown and this new trend of having two wives has gone too far. There was a time when it was okay to choose your projects based on who was directing them because there were certain directors who were reliable. But now it isn’t the director’s fault either because how can he choose a good script when they aren’t any around any more!”
Ayesha Khan is still seen in drama even though she obviously does not like the kind of dramas that are being made nowadays. She says the reason is,
“I am very passionate about acting that is why I can’t do without working in dramas. But it is sad when you have to do the same thing over and over again because you don’t have a choice.”
Just like the viewers Ayesha Khan is also tired of the same old stories and wants to see a change.
Mikaal Zulfiqar does not give too many interviews so watching him having a candid conversation with Nida Yasir on her Morning Show was a pleasant experience. Mikaal did not hold anything back and talked about his childhood and present life in detail. Talking about his school days he said,
“My Urdu teacher used to beat me and shout at me a lot because my Urdu was very weak. If he is watching me right now, I would like to assert the fact that I am now directly linked to a profession that has everything to do with Urdu!”
Mikaal Zulfiqar also told that his Urdu was still weak and he needed help with reading his script. He said,
“I still cannot read the script, one of the assistants reads it out for me and that is how I learn my lines.”
Talking about his interaction with girls prior to marriage and how things are after marriage he said,
“I have always been very shy when it comes to girls. I met my wife Sara through a family friend. She is a beautiful person inside and out.”
Mikaal Zulfiqar has two beautiful daughters. He talked about how it felt like being a father for the first time,
“When I had my first daughter, I felt like my life had a real purpose now. I am a family man, there was a time when I was a party animal but not any more.”
Mikaal Zulfiqar started his career as a model so acting did not come easy to him. He said,
“I used to get stiff in the beginning while acting because I started my career as a model. The acting in commercial brought out the best of my comic side. “
Like every other Pakistan Mikaal loves his food.
“I love eating. It is difficult for me keep my hands off of food.”
Mikaal Zulfiqar also said that he was traditional in his thinking. He was more Pakistani than anything else. Talking about the support he gets from his life partner he said,
“My wife puts up with a lot. My working hours are tricky but my wife never complains. “
Mikaal Zulfiqar has stepped into production and would like to be a part of the Pakistani film industry too in the future.
Sana Javed has worked with all the leading production houses and directors of the country. Right now she is busy shooting for her next play Zara Yaad Kar in which actors like Zahid Ahmed and Yumna Zaidi will also be seen. The play has been written by the iconic writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar. Sana Javed also is the brand ambassador of Gul Ahmed’s winter collection this year.
Sana’s busy schedule has been put to a halt temporarily because she is not feeling well. We are not sure what is wrong with her but it must be something serious because the admin of the facebook page posted this status.
Prayers and comments showing concern for Sana’s health came pouring in after this status was posted. Some people also wondered if this was an attention seeking status which does not seem like the case here.
We wish Sana Javed a speedy recovery and all the best for her future endeavors.
Hamayun Saeed has been away from television for many years now because he has been busy running his own production house and now that he has stepped into the film industry many people were thinking that he may not be seen on TV again. Hamayun Saeed has found the kind of project he would like to work in and will making a comeback on television very soon. He will be seen in drama serial “Dillagi” which has been written by the very talented Faiza Iftikhar and directed by Nadeem Baig. Nadeem Baig also directed the hit film “Jawani Phir Nahi Aani” which broke all previous records.
Hamayun Saeed thinks that Dillagi is one of the best scripts written by Faiza Iftikhar who already has a lot of hit serials to her credit. He said,
“It is one of the best scripts I have come across in a very long time. Faiza Iftikhar has written it very well; in fact it wouldn’t be wrong to say this is one of her best works till date.”
Hamayun Saeed was waiting for the perfect serial to work in and Dillagi according to him is the kind of serial which is perfect for a comeback after 4 long years. He is very sure that he made a good choice. According to him,
“Then of course Nadeem is directing it. I have always preferred to do projects that have very well put together teams, which is why Dillagi felt like the perfect serial to do after a break of four years.”
Mehwish Hayat will be playing the lead role opposite Hamayun Saeed in the play. Mehwish Hayat had the best time filming with Hamayun Saeed for the film “Jawani Phir Nahi Aani”. She posted on instagram,
“This guy right here is an incredible human being and a fantastic co-star. Had a lovely time working with him.”
Six Sigma Plus which is Hamayun Saeed’s own production house will be producing the drama.
Annie Khalid got married last month but the photographs of the occasion were not shared till now. Usually when someone is getting married for the second time they try that the wedding should be a low key affair but Annie Khalid is certainly not one of those people. Annie Khalid looked gorgeous in an orange dress on her baraat and she opted for yellow dress for her mehndi which looked different and attractive. Annie Khalid was very happy with her make up artist for giving her the perfect look. She posted on instagram, “You made me feel like a regal princess.” The wedding function was a family affair.
Mai Dhai (مائی ڈاہی) is a singer from the Thar desert who sings in her mother tongue Marawari (مارواڑی) . She also appeared in Coke Studio Season 8. Here Mai Dhai is talking to BBC Urdu.
There are very few actors in Pakistani television industry who have repeatedly said that they are everything they are today because of the support of their wife. None of Fawad Khan’s interview are complete until he mentions his wife. His wife has always been there for him whether it is a time when he is getting awards or he is busy shooting. This real life couple celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary last night in Lahore. The couple invited close friends to Andaaz.
The pictures of the anniversary party show that it was a star studded affair. There was a time when Fawad Khan did not socialize much in the entertainment circle but these pictures show that a lot has changed in that department.
Sajjal Ali and Feroze Khan will start their film career together with the film “Zindagi Kitni Haseen Hai”. Sajjal Ali’s role in the film will remind many of someone they already know very well. Her character is named Mahira Khan and Feroze Khan is playing the role of Zain Ahmed. The story is that of love and maybe regrets. Zain and Mahira fall madly in love at a very young age, they get married but realize that this isn’t really the happy ending they were hoping it would be.
The film has been written by Abdul Khaliq Khan and it stars big names like Sajal Ali, Feroze Khan, Aly Khan, Jibrayl Ahmed Rajput, Shafqat Cheema & Nayyar Ejaz among others.

The first look of the film has also been released in which Sajjal Ali and Feroze Khan are seen in a different avatar.
Tera Ghum Aur Hum is the most awaited play of the next season because of many different reasons. This is going to be Hamza Ali Abbasi’s first play after the hit drama serial “Pyare Afzal” and it is going to be directed by Haseeb Hassan who recently directed the popular drama serial “Diyar-e-Dil”. “Tera Ghum Aur Hum” also boasts of a star cast with big names like Ayesha khan, Talat Hussain, Gohar Raheed, Osman Khalid Butt, Javed Sheikh, Mehmood Aslam and Laila Zuberi.
Talking about her character in the play Maya Ali said,
“My character in this play is somewhat different from what I have done so far in dramas. The name of my character in the play is Mannu which is short for Manahil”
She also revealed a few things about the storyline,
“The story is based in a haveli in which a big family lives under a joint set-up. Everyone in the family has great respect for each other. The girls cannot leave the house without covering their heads. Hamza Ali Abbasi’s character lives next door to Mannu’s haveli, he is jobless so he starts tutoring Mannu. That is where the love story starts from.”
Stating why people should be watching this play Maya Ali said,
“The drama is full of twists, there is a lot of rona dhona, a lot of thrill, action and much much more. The story covers a span of 8 or 9 years. I request everyone to please watch this show. For the first time while shooting a play I am really into the character, I feel like I really am Mannu. When I do the emotional scenes, it takes me a lot of time to come out of those emotions.”
The latest pictures posted from the sets of the play show that the stars are really enjoying themselves while they are shooting the play. Here are some recent pictures from the sets of Tera Ghum Aur Hum.

Hinduism is the third largest religion in the world after Christianity and Islam. Our country Pakistan is a part of the region where Hinduism originated, having many sacred Hindu worship sites. Hindu community is also an active part of our society in various fields. Before partition in 1947, there was a sizable Hindu community in current areas of Punjab, but almost all of them migrated to India following the communal riots of 1947. Before 1947, Hindu community was in majority in the city of Karachi, Sindh.
After partition, Pakistani Hindu community was mostly concentrated in the provinces of East Pakistan (East Bangal) and Sindh. Following the communal riots of 1949/50 (Barisal riots) millions of Hindus from East Bangal migrated to West Bangal India. As per the first population consensus of Pakistan held in 1951 Hindus constitute about 23% of the population of Pakistan (East Pakistan 22.5%, West Pakistan 1.6%). The percentage of Hindu community fell to about 20% in the 1961 consensus (East Pakistan 18.6%, West Pakistan 1.6%). East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) separated from the rest of Pakistan in 1971, so now Sindh is now the only province of Pakistan with a considerable Hindu community.
Currently Hindus constitute about 1.5% of the Pakistan total population. In Sindh, Hindu community is in sizable numbers in various districts like Tharparker where they constitute 35% of the population. So it is no surprise that the notable persons from Pakistani Hindu community are from these two provinces.
Many Hindus migrated to India from Sindh and Punjab before and after 1947 served at key positions in India. Inder Kumar (IK) Gujaral the former Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of India was born in Jhelum, Punjab and migrated to India in 1947. Lal Krishna Advani the former Home minister of India is from Karachi.
The constitution of Pakistan grants equal rights to all the Pakistanis regardless of their religion. However the same constitution restricts non-muslims for the post of President, Prime Minister, Governor and Chief Minister. Apart from these posts there is no such restriction like Chief Justice of Pakistan can be a non-muslim.

After the death of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in 1948, Jogendra Nath Mandal gradually lost faith in the policies of the Pakistani government towards Dalits and Hindus. Despite this on the request of then prime minister Liaqut Ali Khan, Jogendra Nath Mandal supported the Objective Resolution in 1949 despite facing criticism from his own community. Following the Barisal Riots of East Bangal in 1950 and prevailing anti-hindu sentiments across the country he resigned from the cabinet. He wrote a detailed resignation to Prime Minister Liaqut Ali Khan in which he expressed his discontent with the policies of the Federal Government and the East Bangal government towards his community.
He eventually left Pakistan and migrated to Calcutta, West Bangal, India. In India he led a relatively low profile life and passed away in 1968. Though the first law minister of Pakistan and a prominent non-muslim name who supported the Pakistan movement, he is not much remembered in Pakistan.

So it concludes this compilation of notable Pakistanis from Hindu community.
Ohkay so, as much as I do think that the story is interesting, I think they are now stretching it for no reason because I feel it’s about time that Rukhsana should get exposed & be sent to some place where she can be miserable after getting abandoned by everyone.
Honestly speaking, I actually thought that it was a coincidence that Mahnoor came across Wajahat but I was shocked to see that it was Rukhsana who was behind this. I honestly hope that these petty non-issues between Saba & Wajahat don’t cause such level of rift between them where Wajahat will start fancying Mahnoor over his expectant wife. I so wish they show us a couple that believes in dealing with all their problems with patience & also believes in sticking together because so far Saba has always stood by Wajahat’s side, even when he doubted her so Saba deserves that much of loyalty from Wajahat.
I really am not a fan of Mahnoor & I don’t think I will be right till the end. She has come to Karachi to study so I guess she should do that & in stead of being pally with Rukhsana, she should seek guidance from Fareeda because by the end of the day, she is Fareeda’s cousin & her father gave her responsibility to Fareeda. Yes, I do get the drill that Mahnoor dreams big & wants to stay in Karachi but I guess she should be mature enough to keep herself away from any trouble. Rukhsana obviously knows how to manipulate people but I think Mahnoor should be cautious enough to understand what’s right & what’s not. I really think her intelligence is being insulted by showing that she can fall prey to a trap because of a mobile phone. Yes, Rukhsana is helping her a lot & it was fine till that point but now when Mahnoor is being pushed to lie to & about Fareeda is getting a bit too much & I guess it should serve as a wake-up call to Mahnoor that she is being forced to do something that is completely wrong.
All of a sudden, I feel we’re watching a second season of Mohabbat Aag Si because the story & the plot has changed ever since Rukhsana has gotten married. I think Rukhsana is bored once again because she has gotten what she wanted all her life, which was Arshad, so now when that hope & yearning is done & dusted, she is trying to look for a new adventure, which includes telling lies to her husband. She had the audacity to lie to him that he can’t father a child which obviously made it a bit more clear that Rukhsana doesn’t love anyone except herself.
I feel the way they show some flashbacks revolving around the guilt pangs that Rukhsana feels, they are trying to turn her into a victim. I say that because of the repetitive dialogues between her & Bee jee regarding how bechari Rukhsana is & how tough life was on her are definitely directing us to feel bad for her which definitely is not possible because she was evil, she is evil & she will be evil! She crossed her limits 12 years ago with Arshad & that too on her own free-will, she put herself in such a situation where she had to put an end to her pregnancy & no one forced her to do that, she then started destroying her brother’s lives & she is also responsible for Shareefa’s death, so I guess that’s enough to understand that she is mentally deranged & deserves no sympathy whatsoever!!!
I so wish someone knocks some sense into Arshad, I mean he has spend 11 years with Fareeda & he himself knows every dirty little secret related to Rukhsana, so how come he is easily misjudging his wife of 11 years? The span on 11 years is enough for a husband to know & understand his wife, so I think it isn’t very intelligent of Arshad to allow Rukhsana to use him as a puppet & the way Arshad behaves makes me say it again that they are dragging the story now & for no good reason. I still don’t understand that after doing so much & landing into trouble so many times, Rukhsana still hasn’t learnt her lesson & is now confident than ever that she can get away with another trickery of manipulating circumstances against Fareeda? The whole Fareeda-got-Mahnoor-a-mobile situation was quite petty & what’s more petty was that Arshad easily agreed that Fareeda would lie to him & Rukhsana was being so generous to take a blame on herself to save Fareeda! I really think Arshad should stop being a puppet & start thinking things through because of all the people if there’s someone who deserves Arshad’s loyalty & sincerity is Fareeda.
Things are hard on Samia but it’s good to see her empowering herself & taking control over the situation. Seems like her new boss is a good person & she will finally be able to earn for her family without any hiccups. I really feel that the dynamics have been changed where every active character has taken a back seat & those who weren’t in such a limelight are now grabbing the attention. I wanted to see more of Arshad Jr. because it looked like he wanted to tell something to Saba about Rukhsana but he’s MIA! I so wish that Wajahat stops being Mahnoor’s personal chauffeur & starts worrying about his baby on the way. He definitely is my least favorite character & he has always been because he has done everything that is unreasonable. He lacks sensibility, bickers over petty issues, has trust issues & now he is allowing an irritating girl to steer the course of his life. He definitely is having some thoughts about her & if he was so honest & clear about his equation with Mahnoor, he would’ve shared it with Saba right away but he didn’t which means that this meaningless relation definitely means something to him. I really hope that they would start packing things up because that’s more than enough actually & now it’s a high time for Rukhsana to get exposed & thrown away from everyone’s life because it’s seriously getting repetitive & boring to see her planning & plotting. Please share your thoughts & let us know if you also feel that the drama should end now?
This episode was a complete disaster because of a number of reasons. The story has taken a very typical turn in which the victim who already felt like she needed to protect everyone around her is being pressurized even more into ensuring that she is the one who has to save everyone from further damage! Ayesha’s psychiatrist’s character has never resonated with me because the advices she gives seem to be coming from someone who hasn’t ever been to school! Right from day one she has been telling Ayesha to suppress her feelings, to hide the truth in order to save her marriage and now too she makes it sound like Ayesha is not the victim but someone who committed a huge mistake and now has to do everything she can to cover up!!
I am equally disappointed with the way Ayesha’s character has been turned into that of a woman who fails to see right from wrong. While I understand why someone in her situation would be unable to see herself as the victim since even her own mother refused to see her as one but at the same time it would have been so much better if we saw Ayesha getting strong enough to tell everyone what had happened so that the actual person who should be punished for his wrongdoings feels the heat. Ayesha’s situation looked even worse because we were constantly being shown how well Shahwez was doing in his life. He has a ‘mother’, he has someone who loves him even after knowing what kind of a person he is and is willing to stand by him and now he even has a job which makes it look like he has good prospects of moving on!!
It would have been so much better if the writer showed that Adnan was disappointed and hurt based on the fact that Ayesha did not trust him enough to tell him what had happened earlier or that he felt helpless and frustrated because he could not do anything to undo what had happened to his wife and as a consequence to him too. It is sad to see someone like Adnan who was a perfect husband giving up on his relationship completely like this and also of making plans to have fun in Bangkok because he feels like his wife ‘cheated’ on him!! How could someone like Farah have a brother like Adnan!! There was absolutely no reason to portray Adnan as a typical male because he had all the traits of someone who could rise above the confines of his own selfish concerns and most of all someone like him should have known better than to treat his wife like she cheated on him!
Although I really like Farah’s character but in this episode the repeated references to bhai wanting to get some sleep were annoying!!
I do acknowledge the fact that in Pakistan most rape victims are made to feel the way Ayesha has been made to feel till now but I must say that if the writer could show the rapist being treated as royalty he could have gone off the usual track when it came to the victim as well. For the first time Shahwez’s presence and Adnan’s absence seemed forced. Adnan’s reaction could have been shown in a much better way if his dialogues were more well-thought-out. Similarly the psychiatrist referring to Sangat as a “gaali” for Ashi was highly uncalled for!! The crime that Shahwez committed is much more than just a gaali for which he is accountable before law and his God! Feeling ‘sorry’ just doesn’t make up for what he did.
Even though I am disappointed with the last 2 episodes I still think this drama can have a decent ending if Ashi realizes that she needs to come out with the truth and Shahwez gets punished for what he did. Shahwez committed a crime and he should be punished for it. He isn’t a school boy who pushed a class fellow therefore he owes much more to his victim than a ‘sorry’!! I must say that the worst turn of events so far has been Salma’s acceptance of Shahwez’s crime.
Did you watch tonight’s episode? Don’t forget to share your thoughts about it.
Yumna Zaidi is pretty and talented but it is not very often that we see her playing different characters in dramas. Just like most of the other actresses Yumna Zaidi is also seen playing the role of a girl who is helpless and caught in difficult situations. Her roles in HUM TV plays Jugnoo and Mausam were a good break from the usual characters she plays in dramas.
Yumna Zaidi’s family lives abroad so she is making a big sacrifice of staying away from her family so that she can work in the drama world. Yumna Zaidi will be next seen in ARY Digital’s play “Guzarish”. The promos of the play are being shown in which Yumna’s character is shown getting married to someone she does not love. Ahmed Ali and Affan Waheed are also part of this drama. Posting an update about her character Yumna said,
“Meet Zara. Very stylish, modern and sleek. I love her.”
Yumna Zaidi also keeps on posting pictures from the sets of the drama she is working on from time to time.
“Zara Yaad Kar” is another drama which Yumna Zaidi is finding more challenging than any other. She will be seen playing a lead role opposite Zahid Ahmed who she worked with before in Jugnoo too. But Yumna Zaidi promises that their characters in this play will be very different.
Yumna thinks that Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s script is tough but she is working hard to play her character which is named Uzma. According to Yumna Zaidi Uzma is,
“pure soul, fearless, honest and pure. I love her too khoobsurat hai dil se.”
Here are some pictures from the set of “Zara Yaad Kar” in which Yumna is seen wearing very little make up.
There are many celebrities who do not share their personal pictures particularly because they know that sometimes people forget that they are human with emotions while commenting on these pictures. Many artists have shown their displeasure with people judging celebrities on social pages like they are private property after rude remarks were passed on their pictures and their status updates were judged in many different ways.
Ayeza Khan has always been very active on her facebook page. She does not only post her own pictures on her page but she also shares pictures of her daughter. Ayeza Khan also said in an interview that she reads all the comments that people make on her facebook page. There is never anything controversial about the pictures she shares or her status updates which are usually very to-the-point but even then it looks like people find a way to judge the actress. Ayeza Khan did not respond to this judgmental behaviour like many other celebrities do but through a status she merely expressed her sentiments about people’s habit of judging and criticizing.
Ayeza Khan posted the following status update which shows that she knows how to take criticism in a very positive light.
Ayeza Khan is traveling after a long time, she recently posted her pictures from the airport.
Ayeza and Danish’s cute daughter Hoorain Taimoor turned 4 months old and Ayeza Khan also shared a recent of her daughter with her fans.
Hamza Ali Abbasi said in one of his interviews that he wanted to give himself break from films for now and concentrate on his career on television. But the good news for Hamza Ali Abbasi’s fans is that just like Fawad Khan he will also make a guest appearance in the upcoming film “Ho Mann Jahan”.
When Asim Raza posted these pictures featuring Hamza Ali Abbasi on intagram it was hard to tell who this actor was because he looked totally different from the Hamza we see on television and have seen him play a role in one of the films too.
The film is all set to be released on the new year. The exact date for the release of the film is 1st January 2016. Asim Raza is the writer, director and also the co-producer of the film. It is the most awaited film of 2016.
Ohkay so, this episode gave us more insight into all the characters & so far I’m ticking all the boxes because they are taking the story forward in a very apt manner. The direction is superb & so is the acting of all the actors. There’s a lot more that the story has to offer & so far, they have been able to fabricate the curiosity which makes me look forward to it the most.
It was sheer brilliance how they showed that Shagufta’s father just exactly knew what was running through his daughter’s mind. Mostly that’s what usually mother’s are good at but just because Shagufta’s mother is no more, her father shares a different wavelength with his daughter that is why he could sense that there definitely was something odd about her behavior. Shagufta’s father may have given her the liberty to pursue her dreams but he in return expects her to respect his decisions, that is why he didn’t fancy the idea of Goshi visiting her class fellow because he is wise enough to understand that one thing leads to another & he wants to stop Goshi from taking that very first step.
I must say, so far, Ilyas has been my favorite character, not because he adds comedy & fun to the situation but because of his broad-mindedness & how he trusts his fiancée. I think it definitely is a plus point that he is open-minded enough to not feel odd that Goshi visited her class-fellow. The way he didn’t share that happening with his mother made me respect him even more because he knew exactly that his mother will find it odd too & might end up questioning Goshi, so he decided to keep the secret from her as he trusts Goshi enough to rather make a big deal out of the situation. I think loyalty is what he’s got & he is ready to extend it to Goshi, but only if she’d understand.
Right now, Goshi is in a confused state of mind. She is deliberately ignoring the niceness her fiancé embodies & is forcing herself to see the positivity in Shams that he hasn’t displayed in front of her. Ilyas & Shams are poles apart but Goshi is definitely drawn towards the bad guy, because right now he seems mysterious to her but still, she is finding that aspect of his personality quite charming. Goshi right now is being selfish because of all the people, Ilyas doesn’t deserve to be treated so badly. Goshi & Shams have become the class representatives, which means they will always stay in contact throughout that will evoke a few meaningful & mostly baseless conversations between the two of them. I think it has been made very clear that Goshi is the last person on Shams’s mind as he is too pre-occupied with his education, his career plans & his family pressures but Goshi is unable to see that & deep down she has a soft-corner for him despite being well-aware of the fact that he is involved in some shady business. I found it a bit odd that even after hearing it from Shams himself that he was responsible for the ruckus that was created at her father’s shop, Goshi chose to ignore it & look at him in an awe as if he was a big achiever & he did something commendable & respectful. After seeing how each & every family member treats her with so much love & respect, I so wish Goshi proves to be worthy of the affection she gets because right now, her stance states the otherwise.
It was definitely heartbreaking to see Goshi’s father shattered when he got to witness the candidness between Shams & Goshi in their college. It was like all the doubts in his mind got an answer & he found out the reason behind his daughter’s restlessness. The way Goshi flipped out upon being questioned about Shams definitely hinted that she was trying to avoid it & divert her father’s mind that is why in her defense she brought up the topic of the girl that came to meet Ilyas. She was being irrational that just because she doesn’t have a mother, she has to answer all the questions, but she was definitely missing out the point there. I think after the freedom her father has given to her, Goshi should understand that she actually is answerable to him & she can’t put him through such awkward situations time & again.
This episode marked the entry of a new character; Mariam (Mira Sethi), who showed up in response to the Kite challenge that Ilyas set for his competitors. I liked the conversation that Shagufta’s father & Mariam had, it made her look like a head-strong girl who is more or less similar to Goshi, who doesn’t believe in the social boundaries & believes in doing what she wants to. I am looking forward to what her character has to offer & how she will change the dynamics of the story.
Looks like Shams is getting pressurized by his Bhabhi to get married to Zareena. Even his brother wants it to happen but he is waiting for the right time as he knows Shams has other & important things to take care of first. The preview of the next episode suggested that they will go for an outing & that’s when Shams will get the chance to think about Goshi. Looks like Shams will protect her & that’s when Goshi will be convinced that he is the one who can save her during tough circumstances; the quality she has been searching for in her life-partner, which most certainly Ilyas doesn’t has. I find Goshi partially right that she yearns for a partner who can protect her but yes, her choices are not only questionable but wrong as well because she tried to justify Shams’ behavior by calling him a businessman whose only concern is power & yes, I think she is wrong as well for not giving a proper chance to Ilyas & for doubting him every single step of the way. She definitely is a complicated character & let’s see how her story unfolds. Overall, this episode was great too & I am definitely looking forward to the next one. I really like the sound of Punjabi in this drama & the way they have portrayed the life of Punjabis is commendable. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi.
After much anticipation and a longer-than-usual wait, Naml is back with its sixteenth instalment. Need I to remind you that I got mesmerized by it again? I don’t think so :)
****SPOILER ALERT****
Progress
So here’s a summary
Zumar’s adopted kidney is failing and she is in a desperate need of another kidney donor. She obviously doesn’t want any other family member to sacrifice for her and decides to hide this from all of them.
Aabdar interviews a person having gone through Near Death Experience (NDE), which apparently is her on-going project.
Shehreen tries to get a confession out of Hashim about the assault on Saadi. Hashim (tactfully) dodges her and keeps her on her place.
Haneen visits the Sheikh again in pursuit of a remedy for her Marz-e-Mustamir (chronic illness). The Sheikh suggests that the first line of action is lowering your gaze (as suggested in Surah Noor for both men and women).
Saadi and Maryangio have a chat. She confides in him (reluctantly) that she has been pondering over the oddly rude behaviour of Javahirat towards her, especially the way she threw her out of the house after Aurangzeb’s death.
Justice Sikandar wonders who might be Saadi’s lawyer (who leaked Sikandar’s video) in his meeting with Hashim and Khawar. Hashim is of the opinion that this all is Faris’s doing. Khawar seeks permission to interrogate Saadi which Hashim gives but not willingly.
Haneen teaches her mother to blackmail Faris and Zumar into going to a family wedding together.
Saadi is collecting some small props for breaking open his prison door but is not much confident.
The Yousufs and Ghazis attend Eid-ul-Azha dinner at the Kardaar’s place. Zumar messages Haneen to bring the pen camera from home and they both get their family photos taken (courtesy of the Kardaars) posing a victory sign and holding the pen camera.
Aabdar crashes into a meeting of Haroon and Hashim and tricks them into confessing that they are the ones who have kept Saadi locked. She manages to take a promise from Hashim that she will be allowed to visit Saadi once for her project on NDE.
Khawar confronts Saadi in order to get his lawyer’s name and in doing so, tells him that Justice Sikandar’s video has been leaked. Saadi doesn’t tell him anything and taunts that however hard he may try, he would never become a Kardaar. Khawar leaves in rage and throws the Eid dinner pictures of Saadi’s family on his bed.
Aabdar meets Faris in her house when he comes to see Ahmar. Faris gets sceptical about her that she could be the eluding eye-witness.
Saadi recites Quran and reads the story of Sulaiman (A.S.), his servant hoopoe (hud-hud) and the queen of Saba. He gets sad in thinking that he does not have a hud-hud who could deliver messages from his family. He quits dua and opens the envelope with his family’s pictures in it. He now notices the one of Zumar and Haneen with the pen-camera. He realizes that it was these two who leaked Justice Sikandar’s video and gets amazed (once again) by the ways Allah helps his servants. Zumar knowingly did this becase she knew they would be sending these pictures to Saadi.
Zumar and Haneen track down the possible country where they could have kept Saadi. With Haneen’s hacking ability, Zumar’s convincing powers and their brains combined they finally pick the most likely place for Saadi’s captivity: Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Aabdar remembers that the first time she saw Saadi was in their university. It was the time when Sheru was beaten up and Saadi was counselling one of his teachers who was infertile. All three of them were sitting in the cafeteria. The way Saadi counselled his teacher caught Aabdar’s attention and she got really impressed.
Faris goes on to destroy A. S. P. Sarmad Shah’s reputation in his own family party. But as soon as he realizes that the function was Shah’s son’s birthday party, he decides not to do this. Apparently he doesn’t want a father being humiliated in front of his son just like his own dad was humiliated in his eyes.
Guilt is settling inside Sheru now. He accidentally kills a pet dog and gets extremely spooked by its dead body.
Haneen is unable to retrieve the corrupted files. She decides to trick Khawar into telling her about the correct procedure using her superb acting skills. She gets what she wanted as Khawar unknowingly shows her what to do in such situation.
Faris and Zumar go to the wedding and they meet with Sarah and her daughter Amal there. Amal instantly gets to her Uncle Faris and complains that he doesn’t meet with them anymore. Zumar suddenly feels that she cannot sit through this wedding and asks Faris that they go somewhere else for dinner.
At dinner Zumar decides to tell Faris what she has been going through. But the discussion gets in the wrong direction and Faris tells her that he loves her but he has married her to see how she looks when she gets defeated. This breaks Zumar’s heart and she gets back to her former strict and reserved self.
Zumar, Faris, Haneen and Sam are in the house when police (lead by A. S. P. Sarmad Shah) bangs on the door to arrest Faris. Zumar, shocked, asks for arrest warrant. Faris is alleged with the murder of someone on the night 28th of August (the night Dr. Aiman’s hospital was burnt to ashes). Faris gets mad at Zumar, suspecting that this might be her doing. Hashim and Javahirat watch over contently from their balcony as Faris gets arrested.
Points to Ponder
We now come to know that Aabdar was not enagaged at the time they were studying in the university and it was definitely not her fiancé who beat Sheru up. Also, Saadi’s lack of interest in helping Sheru hints that he might be behind this. Does Saadi already know Aabdar? And who told Sheru that it was Adbdar’s fiancé who beat him?
Maryangio and Saadi are bonding now. They each have a piece of the jigsaw puzzle of Aurangzeb’s murder. It is only a matter of time before this loose cover by Javahirat blows up.
We never knew that Saadi also went through NDE. Apparently he doesn’t remember this either.
Why Oh Why we cannot have a misunderstanding-free relationship between Zumar and Faris?? I sure hope to see them together before I die (*sighs*).
Will Faris be the one who donates his kidney to Zumar? Or will Zumar not survive through this phase? I’m afraid I see more chance for the latter one:(
Well we have one good news now, that it is not India where Saadi is kept. This makes it easier for Saadi to escape. I am so rooting for Aabdar to help him in fleeing.
Faris is arrested again! Will he able to present an alibi for that night? I guess Zumar will be able to do something for her this time.
Best Scene
The best scene for me was the one in which Saadi counsels his teacher. It was a really heart touching way of giving hope to someone. No wonder Saadi got Aabdar’s attention. This might be another example of Saadi’s naiki coming back to him that Aabdar might be able to help him.
Quality Rating
The pace was a little slow and not much character development was there. But the overall quality has been maintained and anticipation has increased even further. I would score it with 4 out of 5.
The shooting for the upcoming Pakistani film Two + Two is already half way and the film is all set to be released in year 2016. Ayesha Omer will be playing a cameo role in the film. The pictures from the sets suggest that Ayesha Omer might be doing a dance number in the film but it is not going to be an item number because the film is being promoted as one which is against item numbers. Stars like Saleem Mairaj, Urwa Hocane, Babra Sharif, Mustafa Qureshi and Ali Azmat will also be seen in the film. the film was titled Jhol initially.
The producer of the film Hamza Ansari while giving an interview said that there will be no item numbers in the film. He also said that there will be remixes of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s songs in the film to give it a different touch. He said,
“We have gone totally experimental in the song’s dramatics and design.”
Ali Azmat will be playing the role of a police officer in the film, Urwa Hocane plays the role of a business woman and Saleem Mairaj will be playing the role of a terrorist.
Here are some pictures from the sets of Two + Two.
Sajjal Ali is usually seen in dramas playing the damsel in distress. We hardly ever see her wearing Western attire or sporting a casual look which looks cool. Akif Illyas recently gave this talented actress a makeover in which he tried to change the looks which Sajjal Ali is usually seen in. Sajjal wore Western dresses for the shoot and did not look anything like the damsel in distress she plays in dramas all the time. Sajjal Ali is also in love with her new look, she has posted the pictures on her instagram account and this shoot was also part of her interview which she gave to Mag Magazine.
Here are some pictures from the shoot and few others which will show to you that Sajjal Ali is trying to revamp her looks.
Diyar-e-Dil is undoubtedly the biggest hit of this season. Even after ruling the television screens for more than 30 weeks, the fans wanted to see more of everything related to Diyar-e-Dil. The drama’s leading cast especially has become an unforgettable jodi. Maya Ali and Osman Khalid Butt’s on-screen chemistry has broken all previous records. Their fans want to see these stars together on every platform again and again.
Good news for Diyar-e-Dil fans is that the Diyar-e-Dil jodi will be seen in the season 3 of HUM Sitaray’s talk show Tonite With HSY. HSY has his own style of hosting this show. Pictures from the sets of the show clearly indicate that this show will not be one that any Diyar-e-Dil fan would want to miss. Hareem Farooq, who also played one of the leading roles in the play will be seen in the next season of Tonite With HSY. The pictures show that Maya Ali and Osman Khalid Butt also have a great chemistry off screen. They are so popular that people even call them Osmaya!
Here are pictures of Diyar-e-Dil cast on the set of Tonite with HSY.
I live outside of Pakistan and am a fan of Pakistani dramas. It is usually hard for me to watch the dramas when they air weekly, so I usually binge-watch them. Binge-watching results in strange observations. These observations makes otherwise ignorable details pretty obvious, and hard to ignore. Once, you notice a certain pattern, and then you just keep noticing it.
I recently watched Main Bushra and Dooriyan ( after reading Kanwal Murtaza’s review). I noticed a certain pattern in both of them, the main character wore the same style clothes to get into the character. It seems like that typical style of clothing, where the dress is stitched exactly in a certain style is somehow the uniform of the character. Let’s start with Main Bushra,
Here Bushra is listening to her parents fight over the money….
Here Bushra is standing next to her mother after telling off an annoying neighbor.
Bushra got a job interview letter and is smiling.
Bushra at her job interview.
By that time, I was pretty annoyed by the same stitching of all of her dresses. Well, guess what? one of Bushra’s sisters tried to run away but got caught. That sister was taking Bushra’s dress in her bag to the wonderland she was planning to go. Bushra’s father woke up, and stopped the escape. Now since Bushra always wear the same style of clothing, father concluded that it was actually Bushra who was trying to run away. What other evidence would you ever need? Bushra’s life became even more troublesome. It was after marriage that Bushra started wearing dresses of other designs.
In Dooriyan, Faisal Rehman played the character of Daniyal. I liked the play. Although it was a typical story, the direction and acting made the play interesting. In the play, Daniyal was a good man from the middle class and worked really hard to provide for his family. His wife did not value what she had and their marriage had many problems. Now we have to understand that Daniyal was saving money to build a house, that’s why he wore the same jeans for 10 years. He wore it everywhere. Lets check this out.
Here he is wearing jeans at work, and was about to tell his colleague that his wife is expecting their first child.
Solving problems of his colleague in the same jeans.
Coming home, all mad after talking with his father to sabaq sikhaying his wife, because she has negotiated with his father to do some dishonorable thing (note still in the same jeans).
Socializing at the office.
This socialization resulted in a fight at home. Now waiting for Wife’s decision to leave, note the first born is now 7 years old. Still wearing the jeans.
Now crying over wife’s decision of leaving him in the same jeans, next to a framed picture in the same jeans.
Dooriyan was an engaging drama despite being a typical story and having a very distracting pair of jeans. I liked the non-linear story line, but somehow I got carried away with Faisal Rehman’s jeans. This one-pant wonder tried very hard to save his home but things did not work out. The directions were great and the young man playing Faisal Rehman’s son did a great job. Give it a try.
Did you guys ever notice some thing like a typical stitching or dress pattern for any character in a drama? Please share your thoughts. I just thought that was funny.
