If not, don’t speak about other things; just wait for your acting turn, focus on your performance, and go home. Stay silent; it’s like worship. The couple ends up getting a bag full of money, instead of one that contains the dress. As expected, gangsters start tracking them down as they try to leave the country with the money bag. BMW Pakistan has chosen Adnan as the face of BMW Pakistan’s 100 Hours of Joy campaign. It is basically a campaign of one week traveling through the northern areas of Pakistan, including Naran, Hunza and Khanjarab Pass. The purpose of this road trip is to formulate a travelogue and short film will be made on this journey.

Adnan shared with the media, “This tour has made me realize what I have been missing when it comes to my own country. To drive through this amazing landscape in such incredible cars is a treat.”
He added, “This is the first time I have traveled extensively through the North of Pakistan and have been left awestruck by the sheer beauty of it all. I think this travelogue with BMW will go a long way in establishing Pakistan as a world class tourist destination.”

The basic purpose behind this traveling campaign is to present Pakistan as an incredible tourist destination. The short film starring Adnan Sarwar will be released in Pakistan and internationally.

After making his debut as a director, writer, and actor in film Shah. Adnan Sarwar gave us an entirely new perception of Pakistani Cinema by making the first ever biopic, on the unsung hero of Pakistan, Syed Hussain Shah.

Sarwar, who disappeared for a while after his debut film, recently was seen driving flashy BMWs all the way from Lahore to Khanjarab while shooting for #100hoursofjoy campaign.

In his latest conversation with Images, he talked about his future plans, where he wants to see Pakistani film industry, the kind of roles he wants to play and also about the Indo-Pak conflict.

He told images about how he prepared himself physically for Shah. He had to go through rigors of training, dozens of fights and also reducing 12 kgs of weight and then psychologically to get broken in the process. It took him time to recover from all what he had to go through for the sake of the film. After Shah he’s been doing adverts, planning for his future projects by discussing ideas with some producers, and writing new material.

He voiced his opinion on the kind of characters he wants to be written for actors, are not being written which is the reason why he has refused a couple of offers made to him. He told that the thought of what people would like to see doesn’t dictate his artistic direction, He knows what he likes will eventually be liked by the general audience because he’s amongst them.

He shared his amazing experience on the shoot for the #100hoursofjoy campaign which was planned to celebrate 100 years of Dewan group and BMW. He said that the idea of the campaign was to show people how beautiful and safe it is in Pakistan and to get some tourist in the country.

At last, he was asked for his say on art being affected by the Indo-Pak conflict to which he said:

“First of all, art and artistic exchange should be above politics and war — that is my core belief, and it pains me to see what is going on, on both sides of the border. Artists should be a voice for peace and a bridge between our two countries.

Secondly, if this ban continues, we should all be ready to say goodbye to our nascent film industry. The cinemas will not be able to absorb current level of losses for very long and Pakistan is years, if not decades, away from producing quality films in enough numbers to sustain the local cinema houses.

These are indeed troubling times for those who make a living from the Pakistani film industry and want to see it flourish”.

Adnan Sarwar is a talented director and actor who rose to fame with the film, Shah, a biopic of legendary Pakistani boxer, Syed Hussain Shah. On 21st May, Saturday, Shah went on air on ARY Digital, and after its TV run, Shah team uploaded it on YouTube.

Talking to Dawn Images, Adnan Sarwar reasoned, ”We knew so many people would be recording the film on (substandard) resolution (on Saturday). Our strategy was to counter the film’s piracy and release the film online on our own terms.”

With complete English subtitles and high picture and sound quality, it happens to be the first recent Pakistani film available on YouTube in this form.

Adnan Sarwar clearly knows what he is doing and had interesting things to say about the entertainment industry, ”Over the course of years we have been involved in the entertainment industry, we’ve made it a habit of doing things no one’s done before. We’re early adapters of technology. Even as musicians, we were one of the first to put our music up on Facebook pages. We realized early on that we can’t fight music piracy. It’s the same with film torrents.”

 He is hopeful about the future of Pakistani film industry, and also revealed plans for his next film, Parwaaz, which as he puts it, is a coming-of-age, emotional family drama that will be a completely different experience for him. Here’s hoping that he makes it big!

I have to applaud his honesty because rarely have I ever seen a filmmaker point out the flaws in his own film! In spite of the low budget, Shah clicked with the masses and that’s solely because of the good intentions behind the movie and the dedication of the team. Adnan Sarwar is pleased with what Shah was able to achieve because through this film, he started a scholarship programme for the children of Liyari and also raised funds for students of NUST. All of this goes to show that Adnan Sarwar’s plans for his future projects are very different from those of producers that want to make commercially successful movies.

Today, Sarmad prepared Lamb Chops with a refreshing drink, Cucumber Cooler. All through the episode, Sarmad kept asking Adnan about the nutritional value of the ingredients being used, but that didn’t really bore me. I enjoyed this episode because even though Sarmad and Adnan haven’t worked together on a project (at least not that I know of), they seemed to be good friends and like Juggan, Adnan Sarwar was pretty comfortable in the kitchen.

I really admire how humble Sarmad Khoosat is. Here’s the man behind blockbuster Humsafar, but the fame hasn’t gone to his head. He is very well-spoken and so far, I enjoy watching this show.

Adnan Sami who had been in news for quite sometime due to the recent controversies, had applied for Indian citizenship in May 26, 2015 and had finally became an Indian citizen on 1st January 2016, giving up Pakistan’s citizenship. As soon as he became an India citizen, he turned his back towards Pakistan and did everything possible to fit in India.

In conversation with Deccan Chronicle, Adnan speaking about his musical journey said: “I started playing piano at the age of five, and that was without my parent’s knowledge because they had asked me not to even touch the piano,” he laughed and added, “However, when my father came to know about my interest in music he supported me throughout.”

Reminiscing about his struggle to lose weight he said “I was never apologetic about how I looked. Because my relationship with my audience was of music and I always managed to please them. But, the change came in when my father took me to a doctor for a general check-up and after going through all my reports the doctor said that, it wouldn’t surprise him if my parents found me dead in a hotel room someday. When we were back at home, my father told me that he didn’t want me to die before him. My father has been my greatest inspiration and support system, and him saying this was a wake-up call for me.”

At last when asked about his decission of taking Indian Citizenship Adnan said: “I am a very emotional person. Koi mujhse pyaar se jaan maang le, toh woh bhi de dun. Indians have given me immense and unconditional love and I am very grateful. That was why I decided to apply for an Indian citizenship”

Earlier this year in an interview with Times of India Adnan said: I waited a decade and a half for it. When you have been wanting, aspiring for something for years and you feel in your mind that you are completely ready for it, you are in a state of numbness because you can’t believe that it is finally happening. I have lived in different parts of the world and experienced a lot of things, but there are certain moments in your life which are life-changing, this is one of those, it is a milestone. Even though I have lived here for a decade and a half, there is nothing that I can express to tell you what it feels like because it is something that is phenomenal. Having said that, I will look at it from another perspective also. I have always believed that there is no such thing as coincidence and I have always believed in destiny. After this experience, I am now a believer beyond a shadow of doubt.

My belief in destiny was absolutely well founded because I was born on August 15 — look at the irony, it could have been 14th, but no, He made sure I was born on the 15th of August — so that was the hint number one. And then I went to study in England and when I was doing my A-levels, I had to write a thesis in history on any world leader. I could have chosen Napoleon, George Washington… I chose Gandhi, that’s hint number two. A lot of people were like “are you sure you are going to be doing that” and I said “yeah, I have an admiration for him so I did that.” I read every possible book that I had, starting from ‘My Experiments With Truth’.

And then God felt, yaar, he still doesn’t get it, go and shift him over there, so He made me shift here and created a home for me which I felt was as home as it gets. And then He created the desire in me that I want to be here because I spiritually belong here. Today I can speak with conviction that all those things were not coincidence. There was the Lord above, constantly nudging me — ‘you are at the wrong place, you have another destiny’ — and it was here and that’s why I kept pushing for it. My wife is from Germany, for example. I could have gone to Germany, but I wanted to go for India. I feel that a certain quest was there right from my birth, it’s just that the paperwork took 46 years. I am reminded of a beautiful dialogue in the film Gandhi when he is sitting on the edge of the sea, he turns around to Martin Sheen and he says, “I have travelled so far and all I have done is come home.” That was a beautiful line, and I feel so much like that today. I have travelled so far, I have lived all over the world, and all I have done is come home, that’s a beautiful feeling.

Ten years after he made his debut as an actor with Syed Noor’s Sargam, Adnan Sami Khan is set to return to the screen. The musician took to social media to make the announcement on Friday, posting on his official Facebook page, “People are asking me about the role in my debut film… so here it goes… I am about to play a conman, who is inefficient and not a bright person, a clumsy character. It’s an intelligent script. In the next few months, the film will go on floors.”

Adnan, who is no stranger to Bollywood where his music remains vastly popular, says he is very excited to make his second foray into acting. His first stint was quite a successful one, with the real life couple of Adnan and Zeba Bakhtiar creating magic on screen.

While no further details about the Bollywood project have been divulged, we’re at least glad to know that he won’t be playing the role of love-struck college Romeo – a crime that middle-aged actors in the film industry continue to commit!

Adnan Sami Khan has not been given Indian citizenship but after his latest request to the Indian government to stop his deportation the government gave him permission to stay in the country for as long as he wants. Adnan Sami Khan made it very clear that he has no intentions to come back to Pakistan. He is very happy with his life In India and he couldn’t care less what the people in Pakistan think about him. According to one of the leading Indian Newspapers Adnan Sami Khan said, “I have heard that people in Pakistan are not very happy with this news and are burning my effigies. But I’m happy that I have finally found my home.”

Adnan Sami Khan went to India in 2001 after his stay in the country for many years the Pakistani government refused to renew his passport and that is when he asked the Indian government to legalize him in the country. Adnan Sami Khan wants Indian government to give him citizenship since he is not a citizen of any country now. He said, “I’m very thankful to the Indian ­government for considering my plea. But I’m waiting for the day the government grants me ­citizenship of this country. Right now I’m from no man’s land because my Pakistani ­citizenship has been renounced now.”

Sharing his feelings for India the singer said, “The love, adulation and warmth that I got from India is the reason why I chose this country. People all over the world know me as an Indian artist. I could have chosen any other country and wouldn’t have had to go through problems claiming my citizenship. But it is India where my heart is and has always been.”

The Indian government has finally accepted the request of Adnan Sami Khan for Indian citizenship. Adnan will surrender his Pakistani passport to receive the Indian citizenship.

It was the second request of Adnan Sami Khan, his first request was rejected by the Indian government after which Adnan filed a new request in 2015.

Adnan has thanked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well.

These two legendary icons left the world while suffering from diseases. Adnan Sami, previously said that he would prefer to live on streets in India rather than going back to Pakistan.

However, in return of his  endless contributions to the music industry of India, he was released an order of leaving the country when his VISA got expired few months back, which then got an extension of 3 months.

Working abroad and making money for yourself is something which seems more like a personal affair but passing statement against the country which has actually given you a platform is an act of indecency.

Yes, it was none other than, Adnan Samad Khan aka Gulzar who played the character of a small-town boy having dreams of becoming a successful person.

He has done theatre for three years from National Academy of Arts and Ehd-e-Wafa is his first project on the screen.

He has future plans of acting because he believes that’s what he does best.

In an interview, he talked about his working experience with Ahad Raza Mir.

Adnan Samad Khan said, “Ahad Raza Mir is my favourite. He is a very nice person and a really good person.”

He also shared, “I was nervous at first because I had to appear with a star-studded cast but when I went on set he was a helping person and his nature is really good. He became my very good friend.”

Sharing his experience in working on Ehd-e-Wafa, he said, “My experience was wonderful working on Ehd-e-Wafa.”

Adnan Malik’s recent interview with HPF Magazine is one of the best interviews I have read in a while. Adnan Malik’s thoughtful responses to all the questions make for an interesting read. Here you go:

Adnan Malik confessed that he is a curious and keen observer of life. My passion for various forms of creative expression are outlets for these observations. Hence, in one lifetime I think I can be a director, an actor, a writer, a photographer, a traveler, an activist, a nature lover, a philanthropist or anything else that excites me.

What inspires him? ”Anything that makes me wake up in the morning and feel invigorated, and anything that keeps me fulfilled, engaged and is in line with my ethical beliefs is what I’m all about!”

”In certain situations I’m a self starter and in others I need a push. When I was younger, I think I was more in my head and would get caught up in inertia. I would overthink and paralyze myself.”

”I’m motivated by things that I believe in. Things that feel right. I used to be very heady, but I’ve really focused on my instinct now and use my gut to make decisions. So whatever feels authentic and right for my journey, is what I follow.”

About his goals in life, ”I have smaller goals and then one big holistic goal: which is to live a full, satisfying, rich life in which I can also benefit those around me. There’s no point getting everything you want, if everyone around you is dissatisfied. True happiness is shared and collective.”

It is no secret that Adnan Malik is a lover of nature because of which he loves to travel. ”I love traveling! My favorite film professor in College always said, “traveling is the single most effective way to become a better storyteller”. I love seeing the world and how people live. How people are different and how, ultimately, they are all the same. My job(s) allow me to travel a lot, whether its acting or directing!”

Adnan Malik made his acting debut with Sadqay Tumhare. Khalil ur Rehman’s script and the character of Khalil moved him, and in order to portray that character, he worked really hard. ”For Sadqay Tumhare, I watched old Amitabh films for research, I read Stanford Meisner’s classic book “On acting”, I designed my own wardrobe etc. In Gypsy, I even art directed my character’s room and brought all these props from my house and my production company. I needed his room to actually feel like the character’s room and since I had so many props that I believed Sikander would use, I just designed my room myself.”

When asked about the most exciting projects that he’s been a part of, he talked about three projects. He revealed that his personal favourite is his short film, Bijli about a Muslim transgender in New York that won the ”Best Short Film” award at the KARA Film Festival, Delhi Digital Film Festival, and was also a finalist the student academy awards in the US.

Also, not many people know that Adnan Malik was the video producer for Coke Studio from season 2-6. He spoke highly of Rohail Hyatt. ”Being the Video Producer for Coke Studio for 5 years, from season 2-6 was amazing! Rohail and Amber were amazing people to work with. I learnt a lot from Rohail about project management, music, video, spiritual and personal growth! I also got to work with a visionary brand: Coca Cola; developed a world class product that has made Pakistan proud, and collaborated with the best artists of this country!”

And then of course, Sadqe Tumhare is a highlight of his career. ”I think I lived as Khalil for at least a year after the shooting ended. It was a very profound experience for me to play that character!”

Talking about his work as a director, ”Directing comes very naturally to me! I really love it! I love directing commercials and music videos and cant wait to direct a film soon, Insha Allah! I love being the team leader and working with different departments to create “experiences” for viewers. I love working with my team!”

And about acting, ”Acting is very challenging and demands a very different part of me. I love losing and finding myself in a character and being part of a greater story. It’s amazing to “recreate” a life through your voice, body and actions.”

Adnan Malik is known and loved for playing Khalil in the wildly popular drama serial, Sadqe Tumhare. He appeared alongside Mahira Khan and they became a well-loved onscreen couple.
After Sadqe Tumhare, fans have been waiting for Adnan Malik to return to the screens. He is set to make a comeback with drama serial, Gypsy.

Talking to Dawn Images, he shared, “Sadqay Tumhare was such a learning curve for me and in its entirety, the whole process definitely took a toll on me; I had gotten emotionally involved with my character so I decided it would be best to take some time off, return to directing. As time passed, it became evident to me how much acting had fine-tuned my directing skills as well and I just knew it was time to go back to school. I read a bunch of scripts, there was also interest from across the border but nothing clicked quite like Gypsy.”
About his character, “I play the role of Sikander, who’s an aspiring photographer, a part of him that resonates with me because that’s what peaked my interest in the arts, when my father bought me my first camera. He’s a very rugged, outdoorsy kinda guy, very different from Khalil. There’s just this lightness to him. So the show revolves around this guy who’s a bit of a wanderer and his equation with two ladies, a non-traditional love triangle of sorts.”

Penned by Faiza Iftikhar, produced by Momina Duraid and directed by Siraj-ul-Haq, drama serial, Gypsy is expected to go on air on HumTV towards the end of 2016.
