However, things haven’t been in favor of the sportsman lately and complained of pain and swelling in his right knee while touring South Africa with the team early this year and was forced to miss a Test and three ODIs due to his problem.
An official source in the Pakistan Cricket Board said that Dr David Young, a well-known orthopaedic surgeon who has a lot of experience in treating sportsmen, had performed the surgery.

Gul, 29, who is Pakistan’s most experienced bowler in the current team having taken 163 Test and 161 One-day wickets, was ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy due to his knee problem.. He is now feeling much better after getting operated in Australia.

The Man Booker Prize is a literary prize awarded each year for the best original novel, written in the English and published in the UK. The winner of the Man Booker Prize is generally assured international renown and success; therefore, the prize is of great significance for the book sale.
This year, two British-Pakistani authors, Mohsin Hamid and Kamila Shamsie have been nominated for the prize.
Mohsin Hamid belongs from the city of Lahore and has received a lot of appreciation for his phenomenal books through numerous awards awarded to him in the past years. ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’, his second novel, is an international best seller.
Kamila Shamsie is no less a pro than Mr.Mohsin. She belongs from Karachi city and her outstanding work came under the limelight through her third novel, ‘Kartography’ which became a hit worldwide.

Bollywood films have largely resorted to showing ultranationalistic propaganda material as those are the films which are working with the audience after the country has been radicalized by the BJP government. Yes, every country resorts to these tactics and Pakistan has done its fair share of music videos, dramas and films in this regard too. But India moved two steps ahead this time and distorted the real story of Operation Swift Retort where they were defeated in front of the whole world and their pilot Abhinadan Varthaman was captured by the Pakistan Airforce in broad daylight.

Pakistani artists working in indian films is not a breaking news, but Pakistani artists offered work in Indian dramas is a breaking news. Recently ( In June 2014) an Indian media house Zee Group, launched a channel named Zindagi which has aired many Pakistani serials uptill now.
Seeing the popularity of Pakistani dramas, now Pakistani drama artists are receiving offers by Indian drama makers. Like films, India also has a huge television industry which produces dozens of dramas. Like films, Indian dramas are mostly produced on commercial lines with more attention on glamour than script or direction, a formula which is perhaps in demand in India. Indian dramas are also quite popular in Pakistan, especially from 2000 – 2010, but the quality production sof Pakistani private satellite channels gradually faded their popularity. But Indian dramas are still viewed in Pakistan, as proved by high TRP of Indian dramas on APlus and Urdu1 channels.
As per Urdu Daily Jehan Pakistan, now Indian drama makers are contacting Pakistani production houses to persuade various artists to appear in Indian dramas.
Sana Nawaz, mostly known for her films has agreed to work in an Indian drama. Sana Nawaz has already worked in few Indian films. Sana has also worked on television in Pakistan in late 1990’s, but she was more successful in Pakistani films. Surprisingly Sana has not worked in any notable Pakistani drama for more than ten years.
Pakistani artists have worked in Bollywood for years now. This is not a new thing and we have seen names like Zeba Bakhtiyar, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Mohsin Khan work for mainstream Bollywood. Ihsan Danish Yousafzai alias Dani is a young graduate and resident of Swabi district and has grown up with love and respect for war martyrs and national heroes.
He now pays tribute to war veterans through his bio sketching art. It takes him 26 days to complete a single portrait.
He had started with charcoal drawing, pencil sketch and spray paint but then he moved towards carving out images and scripting on the scalps of fruits and stalks of different vegetables.
From scribbling and flower patterns, Dani’s love for sons of the soil matured into the art of bio-sketch, a pencil portrait inscribed with full biography of the personality he adores the most .
He had sketched portraits of Quaid-i- Azam, Allama Iqbal, Fatima Jinnah and Liaquat Ali Khan.
“Since childhood, an artist within me wanted to come out and that was to appreciate the heroes of our land who had laid down their precious lives for the safety and honour of our nation,I discovered that I could sketch those sacred souls, who have embraced martyrdom,” he added. “At times, we never give attention to lessons we could draw from lives of those made us immortal by sacrificing their own souls,” he told Images.
Dani said that an artist could at least adore those martyrs through a piece of art whether a word, idea, statue, paint or sketch. “Making a bio-sketch of my ideal personality is just an expression of my love and respect for that particular hero. I want people know my unique art,” he added.
Shoaib Malik is a Pakistani cricketer and a former captain of the Pakistan team. He bowls right-arm off-break and is a right-handed middle-order batsman. He is capable of hitting big shots and is good at rotating the strike.
Recently former Pakistani skipper, Shoaib Malik becomes the first Asian cricketer to complete 10,000 T20 runs. Not only this, but he also became the third cricketer in the world to touch that milestone. Only Chris Gayle and Keiron Pollard have more runs than him in this format of International cricket.

Recently, ‘Voice of Ram’, a humanitarian Facebook page just released a video featuring the Pakistani National Anthem and the Indian National Anthem sung by singers from both countries and this mash up of both the anthems is going viral.
The video begins with the words, “When we open our borders to art, peace comes along.” And it closes with the words, “Let’s stand together for peace”.
Filmmaker and activist Ram Subramanian, who heads Voice of Ram, told Indian site Catch News that he made the videos “because a lot of people are afraid to speak about peace, and it’s an illogical fear”.

The Effie Awards are special awards that are given every year to advertising agencies which come up with effective marketing ideas. The Effie Awards were launched in 1968 by the New York American Marketing Association as an awards programs to honor the most effective advertising efforts.
The Pepsi ad made by the Walter Pakistan Advertising Agency won the Effie Award this year. the award was received by Director Design Nadeem Wahid, Creative Director Ali Gondal and Chief Creative Officer Ali Hayat Rizvi on behalf of Walter Pakistan.
Imran Afzal, President of Walter Pakistan said, “I am ecstatic; this is a proud moment for us and the entire marketing and advertising industry in Pakistan.”
He also said “Not only did the campaign help in exceeding the sales target, it also achieved the highest ever awareness index for any Pepsi ad in Pakistan.”
