In yesterday’s show, Sanam Baloch invited Waseem Badami and Dua Malik as they had been to Hajj this year and she wanted to talk about their experiences and feelings on return from the scared journey. The Pakistani cricketer Waseem Akram has been married not once but twice. He first got married in 1995 with Huma Mufti and his first marriage ended due to the tragic death of his wife.

Wasim Akram fell in love again with an Australian woman named Shaniera Thompson. The couple got engaged in July 2013, after which they decided to get married the next month. The couple had a baby daughter in December 2014 in Melbourne, whom they named Aiyla.

Talking about it, Waseem Abbas said, “I have seen multiple rejections; first, I was badly rejected by Radio. I was quite rudely rejected by PTV. Yawar Hayat rejected me and said that he can never be an actor; his face is not okay, he can’t look good on screen, and he doesn’t have a good voice. He urged me to pursue direction and production. I was deeply depressed because I was young; I used to watch the mirror and used to feel upset about it. On the radio, Irfan Khoosat rejected me; they said Waseem is the worst; he can’t be corrected even by hard work.”

He further said, “I joined the stage where Irfan Khoosat appointed me as assistant. Anwar Ali, who used to play heroes, replaced me for one of his leading characters; it was my first break. I was young, naughty, and had many mischievous habits, whereas my brother was very obedient, successful, and decent. So one day, in anger, my father called his lawyer to disown me as his son. The lawyer started preparing notice of disownment, in which my father had asked him to write: ‘My elder son is obedient and honors all my orders; on the other hand, my younger son is disobedient, discourteous, and stubborn—but half of my property’s share belongs to him.’ Our family lawyer wrote his words it but then said, ‘What kind of a notice is this? A disowning notice means you will not give him any share to your son—what is this?’ Yes, he was strict but loving. He wanted me to do CSS, but I came into this field. The same goes for me with my son—I have taken my father’s place, but I am still a friend to my son, unlike my father, who kept a distance, although he was loving.” Watch here:

I have seen multiple dramas of Farooq Rind, he is an amazing director, given multiple hit dramas but Ishq Murshid is different. I can’t get that a decent looking man who looks educated, gave a room to a stranger guy, and his young daughter goes to the rooftop and indulges into romantic conversations with that guy for long hours. It is quite an impossible and unacceptable thing in this society. Also, I think Bilal Abbas is a little over the top, a few things he is doing were not needed, he’s surely overdoing it, also, how can he be this much smart to be on multiple places simultaneously, the story has major flaws. I think people started loving it because their chemistry has hooked them, I don’t see any other reason”.

He further says that Bilal is doing over acting on multiple places, he said that Bilal is good at the romantic scenes but other scenes are over thr top and he needs to tone down.

He said that Bilal Abbas should be thankful that ‘Tera Mera Hai Pyar Amar’ took the drama to another level because it was the song which made the drama hit. He also said that Farooq Rind needs to cater the shortcomings of execution. He praised Durefishan’s acting. He said that the strength of drama is their romantic chemistry. Waseem Abbas while talking about current merit of showbiz industry, mentioned that “It is private channel’s responsibility to glorify the senior actors and legends of our industry. Nowadays, what we get to see in award shows is that someone is awarded for being well dressed, for wearing branded shoes and etc. You yourself are damaging your capacity and status.”

“I’m a pride of performance holder myself, but honestly I’ve no pride on this achievement because today every second person from the industry is being awarded with Pride Of Performance Award. This generation has devalued the award. Nowadays, such judges are hosting music shows who don’t even have any sense of music, they have destroyed everything”, added Waseem Abbas.
