Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Monday crossed the 40,000 mark after a gap of around 10 months as the KSE-100 index closed at 40,122 points with a positive change of 836 points. A total of 361,655,400 shares were traded during the day, whereas the value of shares traded stood at Rs13.75 billion as compared to the previous day’s value of Rs11.9 billion.

Fiza stated that an addict didn’t really destroy someone’s life but his own with addiction making poor choices in life. “An addict can have made poor choices in life due to a number of reasons but this doesn’t mean he/she should be shunned and left without any help. We should be able to talk to an addict and ask them to seek help regarding their disease because this too is a disease that can be cured, like any other,” shared Fiza.

Saad’s dad in Ehd E Wafa, isn’t just any regular person. He is Brigadier Faraz, one of the most lovable characters to have existed in the history of Pakistani television. We say this because this one man has charmed and wowed the audience ever since 1990, when he played the endearing role of cadet Faraz in the mini TV series. Following Suneheray Din, Faraz Inam again played an army officer i.e. Captain Faraz in Alpha Bravo Charlie and now he reprises the same character, albeit with a promotion as Brigadier Faraz in Hum TV’s Ehd E Wafa.

In a recent interview, Faraz Inam shared how the character had stuck with him for life, as the author cum actor did not do anything else on TV other than the plays he’s famous for.

“The fact that I did not continue in showbiz to play other roles, made the character of Gentleman Cadet Faraz, then Captain Faraz and now Brig. Faraz has stuck to me for life. This character was conceived in such a way that the viewers connected with him, thinking it is for real,” said Faraz Inam while talking to spotlight.

“They never got enough of him, always wanting to know more about him and I guess that’s what kept him alive all these years through different generations,” added the actor further.

Talking about reprising the role of Faraz after almost two decades of Alpha Bravo Charlie, and having to live up to a name, Faraz Inam shared how the director Saifee Hassan had come to his rescue. “I was afraid I may not be able to do justice to this character who had remained so popular with fellow Pakistanis all these years. But he eased me off and encouraged me to remain calm and natural; and the character of Captain Faraz, now Brig. Faraz will automatically possess me. What you see on the screen now is a result of the beautiful advice that the director gave me,” said Inam.

Faraz Inam also talked about his equation with Ahad Raza Mir as the former plays the later’s dad in Ehd E Wafa. Sharing how he had had a good bonding with Ahad, Faraz stated, “Ahad is a very respectful boy who has his head securely on his shoulders despite being such a successful and famous celebrity. His humble nature and down to earth personality really eased me off too and in him I saw my real son, Faaris who is of similar age as Ahad is shown in the initial episodes of Ehd-e-Wafa.”

Asim Azhar is one of the emerging singers of Pakistan. He is also known as Justin Bieber of Pakistan because he got fame at a very young age.

Pakistani film Baaji, a Saqil Malik directorial starring Meera Jee, Amna Ilyas and Osman Khalid Butt amongst others created quite a stir amongst the audience. The film was critically appraised for its amazing performances and the different script allowing the masses a sneak peek into the dirty underbelly of the film industry.

After wowing audience in Pakistan, Baaji, then moved onto the film festival circuit, being screened across the world at various international film festivals and securing hoards of awards and appreciation.

And now, here’s a good news for all those who missed Baaji in cinemas while it screened in Pakistan.

Following a huge public demand, Baaji the film is making a comeback in cinemas across the country from the 6th of December 2019.

Baaji the film, stars Meera as Shameera, a fading Lollywood star, who finds a companion and manager in a beautician Neha (Amna Ilyas). With a number of underlying plots highlighting the dark aspects of the film industry in Pakistan, Baaji, the film was received well on the cinemas and by the public.

Pakistan seems to be engulfed in a number of sensitive matters pertaining to abuse and especially child abuse these days. While the number of child kidnappings, abuse, rapes and deaths grow, we see absolutely no progress into tackling the matters whatsoever.

The general public in Pakistan has been voicing their opinions and the celebrities with their reach and influence playing their part, demanding the government to take action against the rapists.

In lieu of the ever growing incidents, actor Shamoon Abbasi, recently took to his Twitter, to get the government to pay attention towards another similar matter which by far has been neglected.

Sharing a Facebook video of the Superintendent of Darul Aman Lahore, Shamoon Abbasi requested Pakistan’s prime minister, Imran Khan to look into the matter, as an emergency.

The video shows the SI of Darul Aman Lahore stating how she was being taken into custody because she had dared raised her voice against supplying young orphan girls to high officials of the Punjab provincial government. The lady stated that she has been pressurized to take her complaint back after her organization stopped receiving its allotted budget. On her persistence she was now being taken to prison so that all proofs could be removed regarding the issue.

Taking to his Twitter, Shamoon Abbasi asked Imran Khan to look into the matter personally because this was a grave situation that required immediate attention.

The actor also tweeted about the incessant of rape of minors increasing in Pakistan and how he felt ashamed to be called a “Man”. Shamoon also went on to question the government and the law departments about public hanging of those culprits who were caught.
