Pakistani celebrities are continuously seen in bridal makeovers while doing photo shoots, walking on the ramp and even in dramas. Therefore, unlike other girls, they have more exposure since they are in touch with all the latest trends. They also have to try extra hard to find a dress which truly will be something special, something they have not worn before or perhaps something they wore for a fashion show and thought that this was going to be their wedding dress. Most girls prefer wearing heavy dresses on their wedding day therefore it does not come as a surprise that there are many beautiful Pakistani celebrities who went all out and wore wedding dresses which were heavily embroidered. In the subcontinent there is a general trend of wearing the color red on the nikkah and barat function in particular since this color is the sign of love and happiness. Many of the celebrities chose to wear red on the big day and what made these stunning red bridal dresses stand out was that they either experimented with colors or chose a dress which was majestic and strikingly beautiful.
There are other celebrities who decided to break the norm and wear a dress which girls most often are seen wearing in weddings when they are invited as guests. There were others who chose heavy dresses but light colors. Those celebrities who chose to wear relatively simpler outfits set new precedents. Many people praised them for their simple dresses since there are so many girls out there who cannot afford to buy expensive designer dresses.
This list contains the most beautiful bridal dresses worn by Pakistani celebrities on their special day. This list will surely give some great ideas to brides-to-be since it has all the options from the fanciest designer bridal dresses to the minimal bridal dresses. The great thing is that all these celebrities looked gorgeous on their wedding day. They chose the most appealing dresses and carried them so well.
Here is the list of the most beautiful bridal dresses worn by Pakistani celebrities.

Gorgeous model Mahenur Haider looked absolutely stunning on her wedding day. Mahenur Haider’s bridal dress had the most attractive color combination. Mahenur wore this dress on her mehndi/nikkah function but it could easily be worn on barat day too. This wedding dress was not heavily embroidered but it also wasn’t too simple either. The traditional gota work on the duppata paired with dull gold dabka work on the lehnga made this dress an ultimate masterpiece. The blouse was plain which Mahenur covered with her dupatta. The shade of blue and maroon gelled perfectly together to give Mahenur a look which many brides-to-be can get inspiration from.
Gorgeous Barat Bridal Dress
Mahenur Haider’s dress on her barat was just as remarkable as the one she wore on her nikkah. Mahenur is one of those few celebrities who wore heavily embroidered dresses on both days which were designed with perfection. Mahenur’s valima dress was a combination of peach, gold and pink. The attention to detail showed in each pattern. The designing too was detailed with different patterns on the shirt and even the duppata.

Sanam Jung chose to wear pink on her big day and she chose the best outfit for the occasion. Sanam Jung’s dress was beautifully embroidered and the designer played with different shades of pink. These different shades of pink paired with the most fine gold embroidery made this dress one of the best which Pakistani celebrities wore on their wedding day. Sanam’s bridal dress was a long elegant traditional shirt with a lot of flair and a tail to give it the formal look which was essential for the bride.
Aiman Khan’s Grand Valima Dress
Aiman Khan wore a beautiful and grand dress on her valima. She decided to go for a look which was the perfect mix of modern style combined with traditional one. Her dress also had a hint of net which made the look complete.

The style of the dress is simple but the embroidery and embellishments on it make it stand out.
Naimal Khawar’s Graceful Barat Dress
Naimal Khawar didn’t spend a lot of money on her wedding dress but she wore something which she had great emotional attachment with. Naimal used her mother’s wedding dress and after making a few changes she wore it in an old fashioned and classy manner. Well, here is a brilliant idea for all such girls who think they can pull off this look. Naimal’s bridal dress was beautiful and the colors looked lovely on her.
Aisha Khan’s Nikkah Dress

Sharmila Farooqui Eastern Bridal Dress
Sharmila Farooqui wore a dress which was closest to the eastern bridal dresses which girls prefer wearing in this part of the region. The red color Sharmila chose for her bridal dress is one which most girls most often shy away from wearing. This dress was filled with brilliant dabka work and the fall of the lehnga too was traditional since Sharmila did not add any net to it.
Urwa Hocane’s Exquisite Bridal Dress
Urwa Hocane’s barat dress was beautifully designed while keeping the traditional element of the look alive. The color itself is a beautiful combination of silver with a shade of very light peach. The designer used different techniques to make the embroidery different. While the color is light, the dress is definitely grand and it looks fantastic.

Shamoon Abbasi’s film Durj was all set to release in Pakistan on the 18th of October. However, a fortnight before its release, the film was banned by Islamabad censor board even when it had been cleared by the Sindh and Punjab censor board earlier. Following the undue and undeserved ban, as Sindh censor board member Umer Khitab Khan viewed the film and himself stated to have not found anything objectionable in the film, filmmaker and actor Shamoon Abbasi took to Twitter to address the higher authorities to revoke the ban on the film.
Durj updates: Sindh Censor board member umer khitab Khan viewed the film and he stated in an inteview on samaa TV that Durj has nothing objectionable and Sindh board and punjab board issued clearance certificates, then why islamabad has imposed a complete ban on it #UnbanDurj
Stating that his film was purely informative and did not have any gruesome or bloodshedding scenes, nor did it promote vulgarity and anti-state sentiments, Shamoon Abbasi demanded to know why was his film being banned without a reason.
#DURJ Is an informative movie that discuses the mental health of people involved in crimes like cannibalism the film doesn't have any gruesome or bloodshedding scenes nor its a vulgar film
DURJ can bring a major change in Pakistans film industry Not sure why banned #unbandurj
Calling upon Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, special adviser to the Prime Minister for information and broadcasting, Shamoon Abbasi also asked for a full board censor review of his film as the Sindh and Punjab board had earlier cleared Durj and were forced to revoke their verdict upon insistence from the Islamabad censor board.
“Appeal to the federal censor board to review the film #Durj with a full board panel and give us a fair conclusion on it Sindh and punjab censor board have cleared the movie already and now being revoked by them forcefully We request the authorities to help us @Dr_FirdousPTI,” wrote Shamoon on his Twitter.
Asking the Prime Minister Imran Khan to look into the matter as well, Shamoon urged that his film simply depicted the subject of mental illness in a few people that tend to go to certain extents to commit crimes and should be allowed to release with dignity.
We would like to address the prime minister of Pakistan@ImranKhanPTI
To look into the matter and help us thru the process of obtaining a clearance certificate from islamabad censor board as punjab and Sindh had cleared the film previously and issued certificates#supportDurjpic.twitter.com/dlPAOfg5mV
Shamoon has been insisting on his social media to be told about the objectionable scenes or content in his film which could be removed to allow for its release. The actor insists its a propaganda behind his film not being allowed to release in Pakistan and to be honest, it does look like a hidden agenda. When mindless comedies with double meaning vulgar dialogues can be allowed to release in cinemas across the country, why can’t a film like Durj, that simply speaks of a taboo subject matter and brings across powerful performances, not being allowed to run in cinemas, all of which are currently facing a very dry spell ever since the ban on Indian films.

Well, Bushra Ansari has something really good to say to all such conservative-mindset people. She got married at a very young age, this doesn’t mean she is not allowed to do what she loves to. She is still young by heart and will wear or do whatever she wants to do, nobody can stop her from being herself.
Hum Awards 2019 was a star studded event where all the stars and celebrities of Pakistani showbiz industry gathered to celebrate, acknowledge and appreciate the quality work that the industry has produced in the previous year. Hum Awards 2019 held in Houston, USA brought all the celebrities together and they all got a chance to showcase their personal style and preferences. Every award function gives a platform to the celebrities to dazzle and make a statement by looking glamorous and gorgeous and Hum Awards 2019 was no different.
Hum Awards 2019 was attended by big names of the Pakistani showbiz industry and most of them stood out due to their choice of outfits. Where some failed to leave a mark with their outfits and overall styling, we also came across those celebrities who were dressed to impress. It was a delight to see a lot of Pakistani celebrities taking pride in Pakistani fashion and culture, because of which they chose to wear traditional dresses.
Here is a list dedicated to the Top 10 Best Dressed Celebrities at Hum Awards 2019:
Asim Azhar
There is a good reason why Asim Azhar is on the top of this list. He won our hearts completely by making the most of this opportunity to show his support for Kashmiris. This was the first time ever that a celebrity openly supported a cause on such a function. The timing couldn’t have been more ideal and Asim Azhar’s outfit otherwise too was pretty decent. The color combination and the designing of his outfit looked neat. The person who designed this simple yet extremely meaningful outfit deserves all the credit for being creative. Asim Azhar could have just worn the band on his arm but he made sure that he showed his love and support for Kashmir by wearing a stole which had “I love Kashmir” written on it. Asim Azhar definitely set a great precedent by wearing a meaningful outfit. He kept his hairstyle and overall look simple which went well with the message he was spreading.
Sarah Khan
Grace, elegance, charm and everything nice, Sarah Khan’s entire look is all about that on Hum Awards 2019. Sarah Khan is one of those few actresses who strongly believe in modesty. This is why Sarah Khan has succeeded in putting this message across loud and clear that one can look absolutely stunning in an eastern outfit at an award function held internationally. A beautiful full length gold, beige and white pishwas is a stunning ensemble designed by Nilofer Shahid. A beautiful motif on the bustier, beautiful textured and embellished panels, a very regal looking dupatta and stunning border make this simple combination dress absolutely breath-taking. Sarah Khan has kept her look simple with her hair middle parted and straight, she has also gone for a basic makeup look. It is obvious that Sarah Khan wanted the focus to be on her gorgeous outfit and she surely has made a statement. We are proud of Sarah Khan for representing Pakistani fashion on an international level and looking absolutely gorgeous. More power to her!
Noman Ejaz & Rabia Noman
Noman Ejaz and Rabia Noman, both looked beautiful and happened to be best dressed celebrities spotted at Hum Awards 2019. Noman Ejaz opted for simple black shalwar kameez that had a striped texture and he formalized it with a black silver buttoned waistcoat. This entire look is not only classic and effortless but is the kind that can never go wrong. Noman Ejaz added basic accessories like a gold wrist watch and a ring. Noman Ejaz’s wife Rabia Noman was a head-turner at Hum Awards 2019. She looked absolutely gorgeous in this flared emerald green dress. Rabia Noman showed how simplest of dresses can still work and make you look stunning. She definitely put in the effort and it shows. The silky dress is a beautiful shade of green and by adding a statement necklace and choker, she has completed her look flawlessly. Rabia Noman’s hair and makeup are on-fleek as well. She deserves all the compliments for looking so graceful and being amazingly dressed in an eastern outfit at Hum Awards 2019.
Imran Ashraf
Imran Ashraf looked dapper when he showed up in a sleek black sherwani and fitted trousers at Hum Awards 2019. It is always amazing when our stars represent and rock Pakistani culture and fashion on an international level with so much confidence. Imran Ashraf’s outfit was simple and black, a combination that can never go wrong. Imran Ashraf looked graceful. He went for spiked hair and a clean shave and sported a neat stubble look.
Bushra Ansari
Bushra Ansari has gone for a gorgeous pishwas paired with churidar and a colorful dupatta on Hum Awards 2019. This gorgeous ethnic dress is heavy, traditional and has the color combination that can never go wrong. It is an absolute delight to see Bushra Ansari dressed in such a beautiful Pakistani traditional outfit and rocking it confidently. The maroon and off-white pishwas is heavily embellished with gold, the maroon churidar is complimenting the beautiful accents in the dupatta. The dupatta has a lot of colors but it is beautiful to see that nothing is competing against each other in this dress and all the pieces put together are making it a beautiful ensemble. Bushra Ansari has gone for a heavy makeup look which happens to be her signature style. Hair backcombed and tied in bun are giving her a very formal and sophisticated look. Bushra Ansari has convincingly reserved a spot in the list of best celebrities spotted at Hum Awards 2019.
Hania Aamir
Hania Aamir looked absolutely stunning in a plum net saree. Her new hair color complimented her overall look and she wore minimal make up. Hania Aamir usually looks prettier when she wears less make up therefore we think that it was a great idea for her to support a look which wasn’t too plain but wasn’t too gaudy either. One of the main reasons why Hania looked so pretty was that the color she wore looked great on her. The shimmery affect of her outfit also looked great. Hania Aamir chose everything intelligently therefore in the end her overall look was pleasing.
Urwa Hocane
We are glad Urwa Hocane decided to wear a traditional outfit which was perfect for the occasion. Urwa’s own personal style is casual therefore it was good to see her in make up which was definitely on the formal side. The cuts and pattern of the dress Urwa wore were beautiful. She did not add a lot of accessories to her look but she looked radiant nevertheless. Urwa Hocane’s look shows that sometimes playing it safe also works best.
Mehwish Hayat
Mehwish Hayat was one of the many female celebrities who chose a pastel outfit for this award function. Mehwish Hayat wore a beautiful ethnic outfit with a lot of detailing on it. She also played it safe as far as the styling and make up is concerned. Mehwish Hayat looked spectacular and she carried her look with great confidence. We are glad that Mehwish did not decide to wear a Western gown or dress since we have seen so many of those lately that all such dresses look the same now.
Reema Khan
Reema Khan looked graceful and pretty in this white pishwas with gold embellishments on it. The detailing and designing of Reema’s dress was on point. Reema was also one of those few celebrities on this award show who carried the best accessories. Her purse and earrings looked as good as her dress. Reema’s make up too gave her a nice soft look. Reema Khan’s overall look was one of the best on the award show and she obviously carried it extremely gracefully too.
Adnan Siddique
Adnan Siddique also went for a traditional and classic outfit for Hum Awards 2019. He showed up in black sherwani, fitted trousers and amped the plain black sherwani with rose gold accents in the form of buttons. Adnan Siddique also threw in a pair of aviators to complete his look and he used them as an accessory. Adnan Siddique’s look was simple, effortless and he looked charming.

It is very uncommon for all of us to see someone in Pakistan who is an Atheist. We believe that an Atheist is just an attention seeker or pretentious desi burger.
Yashma Gill in an interview with Samina Peerzada shared how she used to believe that there is no God and she started the battle with Allah. Her tough life-long journey brought her back to Allah and now she is a practicing Muslim.
“When you are young and depressed, you overly monitor everything. I started feeling like I have lost faith in God. I believed if there was some God my problems could have been solved, “Yashma shared.
“When I was in Australia, I was famous in my university due to the reason I always argued with everyone on religion. Whenever somebody tried to tell me anything about religion I started asking many questions,” she continued.
“I met a friend ‘Warda’ and she was a hijabi. As soon as I saw her I thought I am never going to be her friend but she turned out to be so nice. She asked me to do one thing in Ramadan which was to pray five times a day and fast for the whole month. Just to prove her wrong I did all that. I used to listen to Zakir Naik as well. Slowly, the month passed and I did not feel anything has changed,” Yashma revealed.
Yashma shared that in the month of Ramadan she got a job, her problems with family solved and she got mental peace as well. As soon as the Ramadan ended, she again felt the same anxiety and negative thoughts. Then she realized all the good things which were happening with her were because of her connection with Almighty Allah. She shared her life-changing story on the show.
Tonight’s episode had the most unexpected developments since I was not expecting the story to take a serious turn so soon. I was also looking forward to meeting the boys’ families and I must say that they were introduced in the best way possible. Tonight’s episode was emotional but at the same time the writer kept the comic element of the play alive. With this episode it seems all the boys are going to move to the next phase of their lives. These 3 episodes which covered the fun filled reckless adventures of the SSG boys were a fun ride. The personalities and the circumstances of all the leading characters have been well established in these 3 weeks. Tonight’s episode in particular showed how people from completely different backgrounds can sometimes come together as friends and make bittersweet memories. This was another episode which might have reminded many viewers out there of their college friends and the times when they got into trouble. The director Saife Hasan deserves due credit for translating every single scene flawlessly on screen. Acting wise, this was the best episode of Ehd-e-Wafa since everyone performed really well.
Caught Red-Handed
In the past two weeks the viewers saw the boys planning one escape after the other without considering the fact that their adventures could have serious consequences. This time around too Shahzain was the one who took the lead. The scenes covering the boys’ antics when they teased Saad and Shahzain’s confidence when he went to talk to Dua were brilliantly acted out. Through these scenes, the writer in an intelligent manner showed different sides of their personalities once again. Shahzain continued to be the reckless yet extremely confident leader. Sheharyar and Shariq both have more or less the same personalities and as it turns out their backgrounds are similar too. Saad is the only one who has continuously been shown as the reluctant partner. He goes along with whatever the boys want to do because he knows he doesn’t have a choice but he has always been the one who worried the most about the consequences. Therefore, it was ironic that he got caught tonight but eventually everyone except Shahzain got into serious trouble. Saad’s love story too reflected the shyness in his personality which was translated on screen impeccably by Ahad Raza Mir. Wahaj Ali and Ahmed Ali Akbar’s solid performances have been the highlight of every episode. All these actors also have amazing on-screen chemistry which makes their bromance come alive on screen.
The Girls
Zara Noor Abbas nailed her scenes yet again in this episode. She has given her character the right treatment because of which Raani is fun to watch and she isn’t annoying. Even though some of the dialogues were not that funny but Zara’s acting made all the scenes covering Noori’s nalaiki a treat to watch. The viewers also found out in this episode that Raani and Shahzain indeed are connected in some way, the families know each other and sooner or later these two will meet. I am really looking forward to this meeting for obvious reasons!
Dua’s cousin definitely likes her but she seems to have a soft corner for Saad. When her cousin mentioned Saad, she complimented his looks and she did not like the way the chance meeting ended. While Noori is fun, Dua’s character so far is quite plain. I was hoping she would say something to the boys tonight but she sat there and listened to everything. Dua and Saad’s first actual meeting had the worst ending. Now with the families involved I am wondering how and when they will meet again. With Saad’s lack of confidence, this love story isn’t going anywhere any time soon!
Meet The Parents
Saad’s family was already partially introduced in the first episode and in this episode the background and basic family dynamics of all the boys were covered. Sheharyar and Shariq don’t come from affluent backgrounds therefore Sheharyar’s father and Shariq’s bhabhi had the most emotional reactions to the news. Saad himself is quite conscious about his impression therefore even though his father told him off in a rather subtle manner but this was enough to make him feel responsible and the way he cried showed how ashamed he was. Malik Allah Yaar’s (Muhammad Ahmed) reaction was completely different from that of all the other parents. His attitude showed why Shahzain was so careless – he had nothing to lose and he was brought up in a completely different household. Even though Shahzain’s father celebrated the occasion but he himself wasn’t too happy about it because he knew his friends were in trouble. All the reactions and the outcomes were covered flawlessly. The acting and the execution of these scenes couldn’t have been better. Saad and Shariq’s scenes were my favorite since they were extremely emotional.
Final Remarks
I have warmed up to the characters in this drama so much that I am actually worried about these boys after watching this latest episode! I felt for Saad, Shariq and Sheharyar while watching the last few scenes. This, in my opinion is the real success of any drama. The preview of the next episode suggested that the boys will be expelled from college and Shahzain and Saad will have a confrontation. I hope they continue to be friends even if they no longer stay in the college. I am really looking forward to finding out what turn the story will take from here.

Asim Azhar and Haniya Amir make a beautiful young couple of Pakistan television industry. They did announce anything official yet, but they have been spotted together on many events, functions, and occasions.
On the 7th Hum Awards 2019, Haniya and Amir appeared on the red carpet as a couple. Haniya wore a beautiful plum saree while Asim Azhar was in greyish brown salwar kameez. Asim Azhar showed his love for Kashmir even on the glamor night. I love Kashmir and Kashmiri flag was a part of his dress.
Haniya and Asim look perfect together. Now their fans are waiting to hear good news from them. Here are beautiful pictures of Haniya Asim from the Hum Awards event. Have a look!
Hum Awards 2019 took place in Houston, USA today and just like any other award function, this was a star-studded event which was attended by all the big names of Pakistani showbiz industry. Award functions always give a chance to the celebrities to look as glamorous as they can. Award functions are lit with the celebrities and they get to experiment and carry the looks they usually do not get to in the dramas or movies that they appear in. In dramas and movies, celebrities take up the looks of the characters they play but when it comes to award functions, they get to showcase their personal styling preferences and their choices.
In any award function, there are always some celebrities that stand out for the right or wrong reasons and Hum Awards 2019 was no different. Just like all the previous years, this time around we got to see some ‘creations’ that left us speechless, not because they wowed us but purely because they came as an utter shock. With such amazing designers and stylists that our celebrities have access to, some of them chose to look fashion faux pas. Our celebrities represented Pakistan and its showbiz industry on an international level, so they definitely should have gone for the styling which had represented the potential of Pakistani fashion designers in its full potential.
Here is the list of Top 10 Worst Dressed Celebrities at Hum Awards 2019:
Iqra Aziz
Chinese Copy of Barbie
Iqra Aziz is gorgeous and yes, she looks like a doll but not at the night of Hum Awards 2019. The moment we looked at Iqra Aziz, the first thought to cross the mind was that her dress was nothing but a disaster. It is good that she went all out with the color choice but then again, Iqra Aziz proved why this color is a lethal choice because it is hard to make it work and look good. The overall styling of this dress was totally off. Some sprinkles of rhinestones on her sleeve and creases of the dress, that huge frill which is nothing but a distraction – all of this screams a recipe for disaster. It was amusing to see Iqra Aziz looking bad with so much confidence. Her dress reminds us of the Barbie replicas that are sold at a Dollar Shop, where the doll itself is cute but the dresses that they are clad in are poorly stitched with cheap fabrics and bad fashion sense. The hair and makeup was the best that she could do but somehow it has added a lot more age to her than she is. Better luck next time Iqra!
Sanam Jung
She Is A Disco Dancer
We are not sure whether Sanam Jung was inspired by the Star Wars or Mithun Chakraborty’s classic song ‘I’m a Disco Dancer’ because whatever she is wearing (doesn’t even deserve to be called a dress) is a hideous mystery. The stripes are never out of fashion but this piece shows how attempting to take stripes on a glamorous level can be such an epic fail. Sanam Jung has lost a lot of weight and seems like she felt comfortable with the thought of rocking a modern western outfit but this looks like an experiment gone absolutely wrong. The fit of this hideous mystery is totally unflattering on Sanam Jung’s curves. The designer tried very hard to accentuate her slim waist after her weight loss but failed miserably because the overall look is such a fail. Oh yes, this hideous mystery seems to have picked the pattern from the infamous night suits of Bananas in Pyjamas or may be Cleopatra? Sanam Jung was one such celebrity who always wore gorgeous eastern outfits on award functions which used to bring her a lot of positive and appreciative attention in the past, so not sure why she didn’t opt for an eastern outfit this year around too? May be after her weight loss, Sanam Jung is trying to experiment more and make a statement but we’ll suggest Sanam to stick to what she looks the best in. Better luck next time Sanam!
Ali Rehman
Heer Maan Ja Has Already Released!
When a celebrity spends a lot of time imbibing a character that they are playing on-screen, it is very much natural for them to take their time to unwind from that character and come back to their real self. Ali Rehman seems to be in that transitional phase right now. His movie Heer Maan Ja which released this year on Eid ul Azha was all about him playing the role of a dulha so it seems like he hasn’t been able to come out of that character. Ali Rehman chose to wear an eastern outfit, a sherwani which is all about grace and elegance but he has shattered our trust in sherwanis for now. Yes, it is nice to be quirky and experimental but the classics that are already perfect should remain untouched. It is so obvious that Ali Rehman took his Ammi’s shawl, gave it to his so-called fashion designer friend and got this in return. It also seemed like Ali Rehman was dressed as an ambassador for the wildlife. How many animals and plants can you spot on the sherwani he is wearing? The print, the color, everything about it is so feminine that it doesn’t look good on a man that too in a Sherwani Better luck next time Ali!
Muneeb Butt
Hum TV’s Personal Butler
Muneeb Butt is a good boy, he does charity but on top of that he believes in spending when it comes to his personal happiness. Masha Allah Muneeb Butt has a lot of spending power, this was showcased last year when he and Aiman Khan got married. As a celebrity who loves everything on a larger-than-life scale and glamorous level, we are not sure how did Muneeb Butt end up looking like a butler? We are pretty sure he spent a lot on this tuxedo but didn’t really have the aesthetics and taste for what actually works and looks good. The round shaped waistcoat and shimmery bow and coat is just too much. It is very fancy on a very gaudy level. Muneeb Butt tried very hard to make a statement with a shimmery tux matching his shimmery skin, but we hope he has learnt that he may rocking a shimmery skin in dramas or award functions is still alright but rocking a shimmery coat is actually shocking. Better luck next time Muneeb!
Nadia Afghan
Taking Nightgown to an International Level
Nadia Afghan is a phenomenal and natural actor but sadly, her sense of styling has mostly remained off throughout her career and she proved it yet again on Hum Awards 2019. We are unsure of the last time we saw Nadia Afghan and said wow! Yes, that actually has never happened. Nadia Afghan has always had an unconventional take on things in life but we so hope, she hadn’t taken this trait too seriously when she was picking up her outfit for Hum Awards 2019. This outfit actually looks like a nightgown, nighty, a maxi that a woman wears for a comfortable sleep after a long day of work. Puffy sleeves, net fabric, the floral pattern at the bottom, everything about this nightgown is so outdated. Yes, we have always heard that fashion is what you feel the most comfortable in but Nadia Afghan should’ve known that taking the sleeping comfort to an award’s night level was a bad decision. Nadia Afghan’s hair and makeup is also quite loud but it is not doing her any favors. The curly side set hair, puffy backcombing, plum lipstick, kohled eyes – phew, it is all too much for us to process and grasp. Better luck next time Nadia!
Ayesha Omar
Knitted Curtains Saree
Ayesha Omar was another one of those celebrities at the HUM awards who stood out for all the wrong reasons. She played it safe by sticking to the kind of dresses she is very often seen in. Ayesha Omar’s take on a saree wasn’t the least bit appealing. The colors she chose were extremely dull and her version of the saree looked like it was made with a knitted curtain. Ayesha Omar’s excessive weight loss also showed clearly in this revealing outfit. Better luck next time Ayesha!
Kinza Hashmi
Cannes Look Gone Wrong!
Kinza Hashmi’s dress, make up and even her styling is a complete disaster. Kinza’s designer was definitely inspired from all the famous looks at the Cannes Film Festival and decided to experiment with them all! The final look was an over the top hideous dress which lacks the finesse needed to make it look classy. Kinza is a young girl who could have gone with something more vibrant and fun instead of sporting a look which has done-to-death written all over it. Kinza’s glowy overdone makeup does not do justice to her pretty face. Instead of accentuating her features, the makeup artist went overboard to perhaps give her a more formal evening look which did not work at all. As if this was not enough Kinza Hashmi decided to go with an equally fancy hairstyle. Kinza Hashmi unfortunately looks like the girl who waited all her life to go to an award function and when she finally got the chance to do so, she made sure she carried the fanciest possible look, leaving class far behind. We are wondering how Kinza carried that dress and how many cleansers it took for her to take off that bridal look make up which was definitely not well-suited for an award function. Better luck next time Kinza!
Mawra Hocane
Sanam Teri Kasam
There was nothing exciting about Mawra Hocane’s outfit or her overall look. The worst part of her look was her aunt-ish hairstyle and her make up. Even with the best people at their disposal sometimes celebrities can make the worst choices. Once again, Mawra carried her clutch like a prized possession which she was really keen on flaunting. We are wondering why Mawra’s stylist thought it would be a good idea to pull her hair back since she looks far better with her hair falling on her face. Also, her dress doesn’t have much going for it either. Mawra has ditched the Cinderella look for good but it seems like she has a difficult time giving up the Sanam Teri Kasam avatar. Her tiny top and her overall look is inspired from her look in her Bollywood debut film. Mawra Hocane definitely needs to hire some good stylists who can broaden her vision so that she can start experimenting with her looks. Mawra Hocane’s designer relied more on showing the hard work she had put into toning down her body and less on making her look perfect for the occasion by designing a stylish outfit for the occasion. Better luck next time Mawra!
Hajra Yamin
Gola Gunda
Hajra Yamin’s dress was the worst part of her entire look even though she carried it with confidence but it still looked like a colorful popsicle. Hajra’s look is too plain for an award function. Her casual top and the texture of her skirt makes it look like she did not want to spend a lot of time looking for an outfit for the award function. None of the other celebrities wore a skirt therefore if Hajra pulled off this look properly, she could have stood out in the crowd but that was most definitely not the case here. Why would someone even think that it is okay to wear something like this to an award function where every single celebrity is the center of attention? Hajra Yamin’s look is not only casual but her outfit represents the lack of creativity of the person who designed it. Better luck next time Hajra!
Kubra Khan
Bat Woman
Kubra Khan’s dress was a complete disappointment, the color combination and the designing both left a lot to be desired. The frills on the sides were the worst part of this dress. Also, Kubra Khan is continuously seen sporting the same look in all the shows. The pattern of Kubra’s dress is just as unflattering as the designing. This dress could have passed as a decent outfit if the frills on the sides did not make it look like they were going to open up at any given time and Kubra will be out there saving the day. This looked more like a formal Halloween party look. We love Kubra and would like to see her wearing more trendy outfits on award shows. Better luck next time Kubra!

Finally the biggest event of the year, the 7th Hum Awards concluded successfully in Houston, USA. The whole of Houston saw the best of the best from amongst the Pakistani entertainment industry grace the event and present a strong forefront of Pakistani culture at its best.
The award night brought about some amazing performances and moments to cherish forever. However, what interests us most is who won what at last night. We were definitely rooting for our favorites and as it seems, they did win.

Ohkay so, production of Epic Entertainment, direction of Haseeb Hassan & writing of Umera Ahmed; Alif is a journey which began tonight & the first episode was nothing short of perfection. The first episode of Alif made me feel like I was watching a movie, a well-directed, well-written movie which was not allowing me to look away even for a second. This episode of Alif was picture perfect which was laden with so many emotions, where it showed hope of a young boy, facade that a man was carrying & helplessness of a girl who was living not for herself, but for her family. The first episode of Alif had so much to offer & while watching it, I felt like it took me to another world which was magical. I am so glad that this drama has had such a perfect start which makes me excited for the rest of the journey already & I just finished watching the first episode but I am sure I am going to watch it again.
Cast & Characters:
I must say, Alif has given such kind of an introduction to all the characters which I have never seen before. The kind of detailing all the tracks got was enough to establish a connection with them right from the beginning. All the scenes were clear & to-the-point where they perfectly conveyed what the storytellers wanted to. The very first scene, though long was my most favorite scene from this episode of Alif. It showed that the young boy was not living a regular life & because of that, he was sensitive, observant & trying his best to do what he can to make his mother happy. Momin (Pehlaaj Hassan) was well aware of the emotional trauma that his mother was going through, this is why he was eager to have his father back so that he could see his mother the way he wanted to. Momin didn’t have answers to all his questions but he dared not ask his mother because he knew that he would hurt her & then she will not be able to give him the answers that he was looking for. Momin, as a young boy had only one person in his life that he well & truly loved & that was his mother. Yes, Momin wanted to have his father to experience how it felt to be like a complete family but his feelings & emotions were all related to his mother.
All the scenes that covered Momin & his mother’s scenario & equation were not only beautifully done but they were absolutely sweet. They brought a smile to my face but also made me sad because I could feel that Momin won’t be having the kind of life he dreamt of. I loved how it was emphasized that Momin was aware of the fact that things were different & difficult for him & his mother but he made sure to be a good boy so that he does not cause more pain to her. I loved seeing Momin as a boy who was hopeful & honest, he was innocent but still he was wise enough to analyze the situation. All the things that Momin said about his mother, about her emotions & smallest of observations about her were simply beautiful!
Momina Sultan (Sajal Aly), a girl who is just working hard to provide for her family. Momina Sultan is forced to do what she does not want to but then because she feels for her brother Jahangir (Hadi Bin Arshad), she can not say no. It was quite obvious that Momina happens to be a daughter of a side actress (Lubna Aslam) & a makeup artist Sultan (Saleem Mairaj) but now her parents are past that age where their expertise were needed in the industry, therefore Momina is doing everything to fit in their shoes. Momina Sultan is a struggling actress but she does not have big dreams for herself. For Momina, all that matters is her brother’s medical treatment & this is why she at times dreams of doing something noticeable or substantial so that it can bring her the money that she needs to afford the medical treatment. Momina’s scenes with her family were done so well, especially the one with her brother Jahangir. It was also beautifully shown that her father had this faith in her, yes, Momina’s parents are dependent on her, they rely on her a lot to the point where it makes it difficult for Momina but still, they do acknowledge what she does for them & her father especially does see the potential in her. Momina on her own is an unhappy soul who realizes that her life is tough but she also knows that she can not complain because she is the security blanket of her parents & her brother. Momina’s helplessness as well as her frustrations were shown convincingly in the first episode of Alif, where it immediately made me feel for her & understand all of her struggles. I am so glad that the director Haseeb Hassan took so much of time to give an introduction to all the characters because it laid the strong foundation for the rest of the story.
Qalb e Momin (Hamza Ali Abbasi) is now a very famous director. He is blunt, he is ruthless, he knows what he wants & he knows how to achieve that. Qalb e Momin has worked hard to be where he is & now when he is at the top of his game, he is not ashamed to enjoy that status & be arrogant about it. Qalb e Momin so far has been surrounded by superficial people who are running after success, they only deal with him because they know what he is capable of & the kind of advantage being with him is. Shelly (Yashma Gill) was just another actress who was not ready to move on from the equation that she shared with Qalb e Momin & she also believed that she was important for him – but then again, it was not her, it was Qalb e Momin who gave her that wrong impression & false idea!
Qalb e Momin & Momina Sultan had a brief encounter where they realized that they both were on a very different level. The things that were normal for Qalb e Momin were a no-go for Momina Sultan. For a second, Momina did try to land herself the role in Qalb e Momin’s movie but then she realized, he was asking for more & she didn’t have much to offer. In the audition scenes, Momina’s eagerness was elaborated phenomenally by Sajal Aly where she made sure to show that even though she was auditioning for a movie, at the back of her mind, all that she had was the money that this project will bring to her because she needed it for Jahangir. I loved seeing how they humanized all these characters by showing their vulnerable side as well as their struggles. Momina & Qalb e Momin’s argument was something that has definitely ignited the spark. Momina regretted misbehaving with Qalb e Momin but then again, it was only because she was keen to get a good project. Her friend did try to alter her perspective & made her realize that things didn’t work the way Momina wanted them to because success, money & fame came with the territory & if she wanted to experience it all, she’ll have to let go of some of the emotional & mental blocks & barriers.
Qalb e Momin was seen proposing a girl (Sadaf Kanwal) but then again, she seemed to be a reckless decision of Qalb e Momin, a decision that he took without putting much thought to it. At this stage where Qalb e Momin is doing so well, it is understandable that he will be surrounded by girls like Shelly who will love him for what he has & not for who he actually is. Husn e Jahan (Kubra Khan) is the name that now is associated with all the painful memories of Qalb e Momin. However, it was interesting to see that for all of those who were related to the industry then & now, the name of Husn e Jahan was very respectable & reputable. People loved her because she was Husn e Jahan, but Qalb e Momin loved her because she was his mother, no one saw her failures except Qalb e Momin, so yes, this name has a whole world of emotions attached to it for him!
Closing Thoughts – Absolutely Incredible:
This episode of Alif was absolutely incredible. I will say this again, the way all the characters were introduced was definitely new and brilliant. This shows how strong the script is & what an amazing story it is going to be. Haseeb Hassan surely has a vision & he showed it in the very first episode. I am so glad that this is going to be such an amazing journey & I can’t wait to see it all. This entire episode was such a visual treat, I loved the house of Momin & Husn e Jahan, it was cute & cozy. All the shots & the camera work was brilliant, this is why I felt I was watching a well-directed movie. Pehlaaj Hassan was absolutely adorable as young Momin, he was sweet, he was cute & he acted brilliantly as well. Hamza Ali Abbasi was absolutely convincing as Qalb e Momin, he has embraced this character & he was in his element right from the beginning. Sajal Aly was phenomenal as Momina Sultan but then what else can be expected from an actress of her caliber who is always beyond brilliant in all of her projects but yes, in Alif, I could totally see Sajal Aly taking her acting a notch higher & this is just the beginning, wow! Kubra Khan conveyed the emotions of sad & dejected Husn e Jahan perfectly, like right from the start, Kubra Khan owned that character & made me feel for her. I am so impressed with the first episode of Alif & can not wait to see the rest of the episodes. It is going to be a long wait every week, I can totally feel that. Please share your thoughts about the first episode of Alif.
Keep Supporting,
Cheers, Zahra Mirza.
No Spoiler Alerts Please
I totally know that the novel Alif has been read & loved by a lot of readers & they all are equally excited for this drama. However, I request all those who have read the novel to please not share any spoiler alerts & please let the drama buffs (who have not read the novel & are only watching the drama to find out the story) enjoy the drama as it comes. Thank you.
Tonight’s episode of Meray Pass Tum Ho had a few things going for it, the characterization for instant has been on point and some of the dialogues tonight were beautifully written. However, the slow pace of this drama coupled with the confusing timeline has to be the most off putting factor. There are also times when you feel that the heavy dialogues disrupt the flow of the story. As far as the storyline is concerned, it does seem like the writer will in the end have a strong message for all those women out there who are over impressed with wealth and status but will there be a message for men as well this time around?
I couldn’t help but think about Sila from Khasara while watching this episode. Although Ayeza Khan’s performance and the treatment she has given to Mehwish’s character is far better than the one we saw in Khasara but the character dynamics are the same. I am truly hoping that this time around, the cheating wife will not be the only one who gets punished in the end since Shahwar too is cheating on his wife and is an equal partner in all this. Unlike many other dramas, in this drama we see how a man is suffering at the hands of a woman who does not value him. The way Mehwish’s withdrawn attitude in this episode was covered was the highlight of this episode. Ayeza Khan’s phenomenal performance made Mehwish’s character easy to understand and relate to. Mehwish finally mentioned her mother and from the quote it was easy to understand where she gets her twisted mindset from! Danish’s character is easier to connect to now but there are times when his becharapan is exaggerated.
Latest Developments
This episode covered how Danish no longer felt comfortable with Mehwish going to the office. Just like always, he talked to Mehwish about his feelings but this time around Mehwish gave a reply which reflected something entirely different which was going through her mind. Mehwish is now fully convinced that her husband is ‘jealous’ of her and Shahwar has in a really brief period of time managed to convince her that she deserves better. It is almost as if Mehwish was waiting for someone like Shahwar to come in her life. Few weeks back, Mehwish even defended her husband even if it was in a subtle way but now clearly Danish is just a ‘distraction’ and Shahwar is the main focus. Mehwish was always shown as a daring individual who did whatever she wanted but at the same time there were times when she seemed truly concerned about her husband.
The routine in the house changed quickly with Danish making the breakfast and Mehwish being more involved in her ‘work’. The work being – getting ready and spending time with the boss! Danish’s dialogues in which he referred to Shahwar as his friend didn’t make much sense, if he was being sarcastic, it surely didn’t sound like it. Danish and Mehwish’s confrontation scenes were the best since they showed how helpless someone is when their partner decides to take the path Mehwish has chosen. Danish spelled out everything for Mehwish but she had an explanation for it all. Is Mehwish really that foolish? Mehwish is not foolish at all but she is so greedy that doing these ‘favors’ for her boss in return for such a big amount of money does not bother her at all. She also comes across as a wannabe, she wants to be modern and want to think like the elite class – so for her that means not following the ethical and moral boundaries set by the society she moves in.
The conversation Danish had with the school principal didn’t work for me at all. I understood why she was saying all this and how this was going to affect Danish but rarely do principals pass such personal remarks on the first meeting. Also, there are plenty of parents with kids out there who work therefore this conversation it seemed targeted all such people and was in bad taste. It would have been better if all these remarks came from someone else. Danish’s neighbor has suddenly disappeared as well. Surely someone like him would have plenty to say about the latest developments in Mehwish’s life. Muhammad Ahmed’s character is a good addition to this play – finally someone Danish can talk to.
Confusing Timeline or Dialogues?
Although overall the pace of this drama is slow but there are times when you feel like some of the developments are too rushed or that something is missing. The confusing timeline has been yet another problem. Previously, Danish’s khuda ki kasm scene did not coincide with him taking bribery and tonight, Danish told his colleague that he hadn’t brought food because he did not like the maid’s cooking although the maid had come to work only that morning. Danish and Mehwish’s first conversation regarding her work also made it look like she had been working for the longest time even though this was only her second day.
Final Remarks
Danish knows now that he is gradually losing the woman he married and Mehwish on the other hand is too excited to take the ‘challenges’ of her new life. Shahwar continues to pursue and impress Mehwish, it is quite clear that he won’t stop until he has her in his life for good. Danish’s helplessness tonight made complete sense, he cannot force Mehwish to leave this job or refuse all the favors.
Overall, this episode of Meray Pass Tum Ho focused on showing how Mehwish made up her mind and there was no looking back now. The writer also did a great job of letting his viewers know why Danish was so helpless. Some of the scenes between Mehwish and Danish are getting repetitive but just like every other episode this one too had a few interesting dialogues. Ayeza Khan’s performance tonight was exceptional. This was one of those episodes in which Danish’s becharapan was a bit annoying but at the same time I felt for the poor man – after all he just wants a simple life!

It is important to have a good relationship with your children in the early stages they are growing up. This fosters good behavior, emotional stability and the ability to be headstrong in the future. Here’s a list of parenting tips which can help you:
Let your kid be independent
Don’t try and dictate everything your child does. This will only result in them being rebellious and cranky which will continue to wind you up everytime you tell them what to do. Teach them things like clearing their plates, putting the toys away, etc. Giving a child responsibility is good for their self-esteem and will make them proud of themselves.
Don’t try to fix everything
Let your kids find solutions to their problems or things they do wrong. This helps in their brain development, self sufficient and resilient.
Don’t punish them harshly
Don’t use physical force on your child. It only makes them traumatized and is not the solution to making something right. Instead teach kids how to behave by helping them to become competent, caring, and in control.
Don’t yell at them
If you’re frustrated, take deep breaths instead of immediately yelling at your children. They will become scared of you and this will further drive them away from you. Instead be kind in your tone and tell them why something is not right and how to make it right. This will boost their confidence and strengthen their relationship with you.
Read books with them
Read books together every day. Books are a great source of knowledge especially when learning new words. Kids catch up on a word when they keep listening to it over and over again. It’s also essentially important to teach kids a few words here and there before they start school. Books are also a great bonding experience that will set them up for a lifetime of reading.
Bond with them
Choose a special activity for every day which your child loves. They’ll remember these special moments when they grow up. There’s no better way for you to show your love to them.
Be the role model your children deserve
Kids learn by watching their parents actions and interactions. Show them appropriate, respectful, good behavior which will work much better than telling them what to do.
Parenting is a two way job
Parenting is both a mothers and fathers job, not just the woman. Kids need to be as close as possible to both their parents so they can cope better with whatever life throws at them.
Give praise where the kids deserve it
Praise your children regularly when they do something nice or help you with something. This will not only make them feel special but also motivate them to continue doing good things.
Don’t accept disrespect from your child
Never allow them to be rude or say hurtful things to you or anyone else. If they do, tell them firmly that you will not tolerate any form of disrespect because this will reflect upon your upbringing of them.
Fahad Mustafa is an amazing Pakistani actor, model, and host. He worked in many hit dramas and became famous for his tremendous acting. Fahad Mustafa has been hosting Jeet Pakistan on ARY Digital for several years now and has gained a lot of love from the audience.
Fahad Mustafa recently appeared on Bol Night with Ahsan Khan as a guest, where he talked about his personal opinions on certain things. He even told Ahsan Khan how he became an actor and how his family supported him on his decision.
Fahad Mustafa talked about the most interesting topic that is the Importance of social media on the set of Bol Night with Ahsan Khan. He said that people are living their lives to Show Off other people. Everything they do is for social media. More like more popularity! The upcoming generation is going to face a lot of pressure to impress others on social media that he thinks is ridiculous. People go for external looks these days and don’t care about your inner soul. That’s really sad.
